"Quiet, Clean Hotel"
This is a nice clean, quiet hotel close to food, shops and coffee. If you eat at the Thai place across the street, do not order the HOT!!! The food is good though. There is a nail salon in the strip mall as well, which I used and a liquer store nearby if you need one.
"No"
The desk clerk appeared to barely know her job. First room assigned the key card didn't work. After three changes of cards we got her to understand the batteries were dying. She couldn't change them. Switched to another room. Key card didn't work. Got a change. On getting inside discovered I couldn't open the door from inside the room. Called the desk clerk down to see this, her response was a condescending, “well the key card DOES work.” And the room was dirty from obvious work that had been ongoing in the bathroom. That's when we got our money back and went elsewhere. By the way, the hallway didn't appear very clean either. Don't bother
"Best Western Review"
This hotel is one of the best in Fort Smith. We have stayed 3 years in a row for two weeks in the summer. Never disappointed. The rooms are clean, breakfast is served, and the pool is open. Close to dining and shopping.
"It was less than OK"
Although this was a convenient location and their were many restaurants within walking distance the Hotel could you some TLC. Blinds in entire hotel were very dusty. Our tub drained very slowly so I was standing in water my entire shower. The air conditioner was separated from the wall and we could see outside to the parking lot, and it leaked - the carpet was wet. It was late when we discovered this, so decided not to get another room.
"No Pool in the Summer?"
I was informed at check in that the pool was not working, so my grandkids missed out. Breakfast was sparse, although hot breakfast of bacon, what appeared to be eggs folded over a slice of "cheese", but little else. Boys were very disappointed. The plumbing was barely functional in our room.
"Nice Stop Over Hotel"
This was an excellent location for the stop over that we needed to make. There were great places to eat near by and you must be sure to try Andi's Frozen Custard that is just across the street from the hotel. Great service, great staff.
"Hotel needs to fix their plumbing and make other repairs"
First and foremost, the hotel needs to fix their plumbing. The toilet was clogged in our bathroom as well as in the bathroom next to the front desk. We had to go to a nearby fast food restaurant to find a working toilet. Also: the evening we arrived, several people were lined up at the front desk because their keys didn't work. The next morning, I talked to a guest who said his TV didn't work. The air conditioning unit in the exercise room didn't work, so I was unable to use it. The entire hotel has an aura of everything in disrepair, needing to be fixed. At least the beds were comfortable and the lock on the door worked. The room was quiet and we got a good night's sleep.
"I would like to dispute the bad reviews of this hotel"
I saw some bad reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor with a stay the same month as we stayed. I cannot imagine how this hotel got the bad review. We stay there when we travel to Fort Smith Arkansas and it has been clean, no broken fixtures, good water pressure, no smoke smell. This hotel on our last trip this week was what we expected. A comfortable, clean, friendly hotel. More than met our needs.
"Nightmare"
My wife and I reserved a room here to go to my brothers wedding. I grew up thinking Motel 6 was nice, and that a studio 6 was fancy, so understand my standards aren't high. Our first room smelled like someone was smoking a pipe. My wife has sensative lungs so they moved us to another room. This one was the most disgusting place I have ever been. The first thing that happened is that my wife set something down on the night stand and got some sticky slime on here hand. We honestly don't know if this was food or human genetic material. Then we noticed a dead bug on the bed, then blood spots. The wall was smeered with something brown, there were stains which certainly resembled those caused by to people engaging in drunken relations. Additionally there was hair in the towels and that night may wife saw a roach crawling on out luggage. The only reason we stayed was because we were both to tired to drive further and all the hotels in the area were packed for a football game. My wife cried that night because of how disgusting she felt just being in this room. She cried again they next day when we found a room down the road because she was so happy to be in a clean room
"It was good"
We stay at this Best Western every time we are in Ft. Smith. There's nothing wrong with any of it. Only thing with this trip is we did find a bar of soap housekeeping missed in the shower. Besides that no complaints at all.
"SO DISAPPOINTED!!"
For a hotel that advertises that is has been recently renovated, that is not the case. Our room was beyond dirty, The room smelled of body odor, the a/c unit fan would not turn on to the High setting, the bedspreads, bed skirts, top sheets were dirty and smelled. I wiped up the bathroom floor with one of their washcloths and it was so incredibly dirty. Our towels looked like they had never been bleached and some of them looked like they should have been used as rags. I took the dirty towels down to the front desk. Told them about our issues with the room. Only remedy was to give me more towels that looked like rags. The second floor was stuffy and hot. Someone was smoking pot in another room and the smell was permeating the hallway. The common areas were dirty as well as the interior of the elevator.
"Huge Disappointment!"
Not sure how this place has 4 stars! The place is in disrepair with broken ice machine, missing or broken stuff in the hall, the outdoor pool is thick with green algae, the lobby smelt like cigarette smoke, and my room had a stale smell. My room appears clean but hard to say, The sheets on my bed were thin. I would not recommend this hotel,
"Decent, But Could Be Better"
The advantage that this Best Western does have is the continuous commerce which surrounds it on Rogers Avenue in Ft Smith. That said, it was reason enough for me to check in here for a couple of nights, if for no other reason than to rack up some points for future use elsewhere. My room was decent and had good comforts, but the space was just so darn tight! Bed was good, and did have a good place on the second floor, and sunrises could be viewed from that window. Shower was decent but functional. The toilet did flush, but it often took forever for the water flow to settle down. The hotel's elevator started malfunctioning on my final day there, as whenever I pushed the button to go to the first floor, the second floor opened back up. I would press that same button again and THEN I would finally be transported to the first floor. In addition, the building is aging a bit and looked like it was in a partial state of renovation. Perhaps if they made some upgrades here, things could be a lot better here. The location is very good, but the building needs some work. It doesn't help that there is not much wiggle space in the rooms, so this building, as designed, is problematic.
"good motel"
motel was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. motel was in a good location in relation to the actiities we were in town for. close to several resteraunts and stores if one would need anything.
"Affordable Friendly"
I enjoyed the stay. The shower was great. All the amenities smelled clean. And they threw in a bottle of complimentary mouth wash. (I needed that) the next morning I had a coffee on check out. My buddy took advantage of the full advantage of the breakfast bar and had a great morning. I liked the peace and quiet we had for sleeping. The air conditioner worked good in our room. Planning on being there every week.
"Needs maintenance and upgrades"
Our bathroom could definetly use some maintenance: Loose toilet seat, loose flushing lever, shower head sprayed out the back and side and got floor wet. Problem with AC on 2nd floor hallways (so hot and humid that alarm went off).
"Dirty room, Poor upkeep"
Broken/cracked toilet seat, sink faucet sprayed all over the counter, bed skirts had nasty looking spills all down the sides and a vaping pod was left on the floor. Poor attempts at "fixing" damaged furniture. On the bright side, it was quiet and the breakfast was decent.
"There were bed bugs. We was offered another room really I don't think so we expected a refund."
The room had glitter all over every thing old socks and dirt under and behind the beds and bed bugs among other bugs the rooms I'm out. the amenities would have been nice if we could have stayed I am not hanging out with bugs. It was a waste of money.
"Extremely Disappointed"
I like to read reviews on a place before I book a room somewhere, this hotel had mixed reviews. Even with the mixed reviews their rating was decent. I was wrong! The lobby area and outside of the hotel looks amazing, but the rooms are horrible. I had changed rooms four times because different issues. The first room the bathroom and tub looked were unacceptable, which is vital staying the amount of time that I would be staying.Second room the door would not close and latch. Another room the bed had a huge sink hole in the mattress and roaches. I am a Diamond Select Member with this company and have never had an experience with people so nonchalant about the service they were giving a customer. I felt unappreciated, I ended up cutting my trip short and checking out 2 days early! You think I received an apology or discount or any type of compensation for my trouble? NO! They don't care about anything but your money. Save it don't go here.
"Either roaches or clogged sinks"
Essentially this place is the Walmart of hotels. It's not the worst place ever because the surrounding area is actually nice. However having stayed several times here I've noticed somethings that were off about the hotel. The gym is not maintained at all, it's a mess, there was a random cup on the floor and what seemed to be mud on the ground, there were no cups so if you wanted to indulge in their wonderful water cooler be sure to bring your own cup. Several of the rooms have a bug problem the roaches are bearable at least they come out when you're asleep but if you're up in the middle of the night going to pee you'll have a 6 legged friend with you. Front desk staff are very friendly but the room service staff will have an attitude with you. The bathtub was clogged during one of my stays and the rooms are usually cold. It's a really a trade off with the value of the hotel the price is good, internet isn't the worst(it depends on which room your staying in the internet gets worse in the older looking rooms), the free breakfast is good, and the lobby is clean for the most part. I'd only stay here if you have insane patience with service staff and the need for a cheap hotel with moderate internet
"Buying Christmas"
Really great, friendly place. Remodeled, clean, near many major restaurants. Nice breakfast bar. Best of all, great coffee!! Near I 540 making it a good jump off spot for travel. Nice part of town, kid and pet friendly
"Overnight stay I Tucumcari, New Mexico"
Great service and wonderful breakfast. Couldn't believe what a nice breakfast buffet they had. Friendly and offered us extra bonus points. Would definitely recommend to friends to stay. We were hungry for Mexican food and they directed us to Dels..delicious dinner.
"Great Stay!"
Whenever we go back to Fort Smith we will definitely stay here. The room was nice, the breakfast was good, and Jennifer, at the front desk, was awesome! Nothing else to say. Not sure why this review requires q minimum of 200 characters, but this should do it..........
"On our way home!"
Stopped here for an overnight stay returning home from vacay! The BW was clean and staff were friendly. Easily used by $20 gift certificate. Breakfast items were well stocked. It was located near one of the interstates. The room had a desk. Wifi worked well.
"this is a nice property"
well kept in nice condition, quiet, friendly staff and great service breakfast was good lobby and breakfast area was clean the hotel is modern and well kept and there were zero issues and it was a fair price
"Great"
The rooms were very clean amazing beds shower decor had a wonderful night my wife and I add our anniversary night there couldn't ask for better staff the breakfast was amazing can't wait to stay there again
"It was fine."
upon entering the room i was excited so i didnt notice much, then i found the smoke alarm covered with a bandana (in a "smoke free room", the fireplace wasnt working, there was mold in the shower, the carpet was coming up, the kitchen sink was taken apart and never put back together and leaked everywhere. someone had a dog next door that barked all night. it was my birthday so "pick your battles" i just wanted a night of relaxation, but it turned into a night of being just unhappy over and over again. i spent $196 after tax when i couldve just stayed in at my clean house..... sad.
"Home away from home"
It was really a great place to stay clean and very nice! The decor was really uplifting and bright! Closets media center were very spacious ! Unlike so many other hotels they were visitor friendly! I'd suggest this hotel to very one
"Dirty full of bugs"
Will not come back again to this hotel or any best western if this is their standards. Room had a dirty odor and room had ants. When my family woke up the ant problem was worse. I took videos and pictures the front desk did not even care. They brushed it off and just stated it's a known problem and that it was the time of year where they came out
"Great One Night Stay"
Our room was great and the fridge was cold. We were conveniently next to an external door which was handy. Breakfast was missing waffles and the only fruit available was apples. We did however wait until about 8:30 to go eat so that may have been our fault that the other fruit was all gone. It is in a very handy location with many nearby nice restaurants.
"Great time in Fort Smith"
The Best Western in Fort Smith was a great place to stay. It is very close to the freeway and has several restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was clean and the the attendants were very helpful and helpful!

"Tired Hotel in Ft Smith, AK"
A very average stay in this Best Western in Fort Smith, AK. The hotel has a Chili's restaurant in the parking lot, making walking your dog in the evening a little sketchy. The hotel could use some sprucing up-just feels tired. Tub drains were slow. Breakfast choices were meager.
Best Western Aspen, General Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize that our recent remodel did not suit your needs. We have well lighted parking lots to ensure guest safety. We are not certain as to why you might think the breakfast choices are meager. We maintain a full breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, pastries, bread, pancakes, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, orange and apple juices, and coffee, of course.
"My home away from home"
We always stay here when we come into town. The rooms are spacious, decor updated, staff is friendly and it is conveniently located for our needs. If the weather was warm I'd like to try out the outdoor pool. The suites are perfect for giving us room to stretch out and relax during our down time. Having a hot breakfast provided is definitely a plus. We will definitely be back!
Best Western Aspen, General Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We are always glad to have you. It is our goal to make every guest feel at home. You will definitely have to be here during the summer to take advantage of the pool. Always make sure to call in advance regarding to the pool as it is an outdoor pool and conditions can limit its availability.
"Good value for the money"
The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I stayed here due to the price and the proximity to the hospital that I am working at. I will be staying here while I work until February 2021. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler looking for a clean, comfortable room at a good price.

"Great base for trip through Talamina drive"
Hotel was dated but nice. Room was quite and clean. Location to restaurants was excellent with several large chains less than a block. Downtown Fort Smith a few minutes away by car. We wanted to see the turning leaves in the area and drive Highway 1 the Talamina drive from Mena to Talihina and surrounding area. Really great trip all in all.

"Not a good spot during Corona virus"
First impression- a large container for cigarette butts outside the front door. Lobby - bright gold gaudy lights. Many guests walking in without masks, even though they are mandatory in Arkansas. The wood frame around my doorjamb was broken; the room smelled stale - like old sweaty shoes. People working in the hotel were often seen without a mask, or talking to friends who were not wearing them either. There was a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, etc. but the person setting it up was not wearing a mask. Besides Covid issues, this place needs an update in colors and cleaning- dingy, drab rooms. One good thing - the mattress and pillows were very comfortable! So maybe there is hope for this place with an upgrade and more attention to Covid issues.
Best Western Aspen, General Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize that there were both guests and staff not working masks. Staff is required to wear them and we will take this up with our staff. Since our hotel is non-smoking, we do provide areas outside where smoking is permitted. However, the trash should be emptied on a regular basis and we will be getting with staff on this matter. The color scheme was decided when the hotel was remodeled and we do not see this being changed in the near future. We apologize that it was not to your liking. The rooms should also be thoroughly cleaned and should smell "fresh". We will look into this matter and get with housekeeping to ensure this is not an issue going forward.
"No Go"
We came to the hotel late at night. I had called to ask if there would be rooms available that had never had a pet. While I was told yes on the phone, the answer was no when I got to the hotel. The only thing good about this hotel, was the friendly staff. They were very accommodating, and tried to help as best they could. The first room they gave us, smelled like smoke, the toilet paper handle was broken off, and the comforters were stained. When I say stained, I mean, I'm not even sure they were washed. With Covid running rampant, I would expect a different level of cleanliness in the rooms. Unfortunately, We have been traveling in the pandemic, and this was by far the worst I felt about staying somewhere. In addition to this, the sink was stopped up, the bathroom fan did not work, and we were not convinced the toilet would flush down adequately if you know what I mean. We got in late, and knew that breakfast would stop at 10am. my husband went down at 9:50 to make us a piece of toast. He was only able to bring us up coffee as breakfast had closed down early. Needless to say, the overall cleanliness of the lobby was good, the stairs look like they hadn't been vacuumed in a while, and the overall cleanliness wasn't up to my standard.

"Dirty, Uninformed, Under Stocked"
When we arrived the counter help didn't know how to redeem rewards. The bedspread, sheets and towels were all stained. The bed was broken and sunk in on the left side. There was no 1/2 & 1/2, real sugar or hot cocoa, although the containers were labled stating that all should be available. When asked about the availability I was told they don't provide hot cocoa any more and they just don't have the other two. We picked a midlevel chain hotel to get a clean and reliable environment, but they fell very short on all of that. The only positive was a decent size room refrigerator/freezer combo.

"Never Again"
I have never had a hotel experience as bad as this. I checked into the Aspen around 4pm on a Thursday. When I got to the room, on first look, everything seemed to be in order. However, I quickly noticed that there was an empty plastic water bottle on one of the two beds that had a hand written note that was inside. I took this bottle down to the front desk to show it to the young woman who checked me in. Obviously, there was nothing for her to do about it, I only thought that she should know about the poor job that “housekeeping” had done in this room. I might add that this woman at the front desk was the only bright spot at the hotel. I was to need to call attention to the housekeeping problem again. The next day I departed the hotel around 9am for the day. There was a small blue/white sign to Lea we on the dole; the white side out meant “ Do Not Disturb”. The blue side out meant “ Please Make-Up the Room”. I checked and double checked to be certain that I was leaving the blue-side out to have the room serviced. When I arrived back to the hotel after 8pm that night, the sign was still on the door, and the blue-side was still out. However, the room had not been cleaned. Again, I reported this to the same woman at the desk who apologized again and made a note to discuss with management. At the same time I reported that neither the telephone in the room was operating (there was no wire/cord to connect to the wall outlet, nor was the clock-radio working. Again, she made this note to management. The next day I again left the hotel around 8:30/9am for the day. This day I didn't leave the sign on the door at all. When I returned I was initially pleased to see that the bed had been made-up, but unfortunately, as soon as I walked into the bathroom I was both shocked and upset to see that two days worth of dirty towels were still on the floor of the room. Housekeeping had been in there and left fresh soap but left the dirty towels for the first two days on the floor. Again, I reported this. I would have moved to another hotel right then, but I was staying there because I had 3 cousins also staying there, and it would have been a lot of trouble to move, and we didn't really know how long we would be in town as we were there because my 99 year old uncle was in Hospice care, and we had been called to come to Fort Smith right away. The cousins and I had come from Indiana, Colorado, and California. At this stage I told the nice lady at the desk to suggest to “management” that I thought to make things “ right”, they should “comp” one night. Well, here is the response that I received from a man at the front desk the next morning. He said that he had checked with Housekeeping re the first day when they didn't clean the room at all and that it was my fault because I had left the white-side out, the side that says “do not disturb”. This is not true as I double checked before I left that morning that the blue-side was out as well as the same when I returned that night. Of course no excuse was offered about the dirty towels, the plastic bottle that was on the bed when I checked in, the telephone that wasn't connected, nor the alarm clock-radio which was never fixed. He denied my request for a one night comp but offered in return a 20% discount for one night or about $17. This would have amounted to $6 per day more or less. At this point I checked-out and moved to the Fairfield Inn. One last thing. I told him to NOT take the $20 off my bill as I felt this was a total insult, but he said that he had already done it. Therefore, I took a $20 bill from my billfold and tossed it to him and got the hell out of there. I will never return to this poorly managed property. In fairness I must also give a shout-out to the lady who handles the buffet breakfast. She, like the young woman who works the front desk, are both assets. I don't know how they can work in that environment.

"Relaxing Getaway"
I was looking for somewhere nice yet affordable, that also provided free breakfast for me and my wife. Sometimes I will hire a baby sitter for the kids and take my wife out for a fun night on the town and we will stay in a motel for the night. The location is perfect for this because there are several restaurants and bars within walking distance. The rooms at Best Western were very nice for the price and the breakfast was great. I think next time I'm going to try out the room with a Jacuzzi.

"Not bad. Not stellar either "
I have frequented this hotel twice and truthfully and honestly it's not a bad hotel for the money. The amenities inside and out are nice the rooms are quite comfortable than living in the hotel staff is pretty friendly I really don't have to look bad to say about the hotel except for one thing which is the breakfast bar. Usually I work early in the morning so I'm always on the run so breakfast is not usually a big deal for me but when I sleep in late your breakfast bar should not be empty an an hour before closing and your hotel staff claiming they've run out of food. The first time I got there 20 minutes before close and there was no food the second time I was there at whole hour before closing there was no food

"Decent hotel."
The hotel is hidden mainly behind other businesses. It might be hard to find if you don't use a GPS. It is located behind a Chilis across from a Outback restaurant. the parking isn't that great. I was there only a few hours and did not eat breakfast. I liked the room it was pretty nice.

"Very Dissatisfied Member"
Came for a volleyball tournament and overall was dissatisfied with a breakfast that was thrown together due to staff being late. Zero meat options only cold gravy with extremely hard biscuits and minimal juice options. If you love dry cereal for breakfast go for it.
"Business trip"
I stay at a best western in ohio and Arkansas both places were top of the line. When I need to go to anymore trips I will be staying at a best western I am very pleased with all the services they provided

"Disappointing"
I struggle when I write a review when the experience just isn't up to par. I am tempering what I say so my miserable drive doesn't influence the outcome. I have waited a few weeks in order to insure what I write is fair. So here it is... This is simply not up to the Best Western standard. The parking is dreadful. It is difficult to determine what constitutes the hotel parking lot and that of the adjacent businesses. Add in the lack of lighting, bad pavement and lack of lines and it makes for a feeling of uncertainty you really don't want your guests to have. Check in was relatively quick considering their computer system was being rebooted...at 7pm. The room was clean, I will given them that. The furniture was in disrepair. I tried to sit down at the desk and almost fell backwards out of the chair. One of the wheels had been crudely glued together and chose that moment to fall completely apart. When I mentioned it the next morning the desk associate said they had personally glued it together the day before. I guess they need stronger glue. The bed was pretty nice and the sheets were clean. There was litter on the floor. I went to get some ice and the ice machines was broken. I finally found a functional machine on another floor, across the facility. Breakfast was thin and sparse. A comment about their exits and their signage. My room was at the end of the hall near the side door. As I was entering my room I heard someone pounding of the side door. I opened it to find two ladies in their pajamas. They had stepped out to get something from their car and discovered they couldn't reenter through that door. The only alternative was to walk around the facility and the pool and through the main entrance. Typically I see some sort of warning posted but there was no signage advising someone it was strictly an exit. I love to travel and actually enjoy staying in hotels. Not this time.

"Friendly staff, but less than competent or maybe it was...."
...lack of training or maybe it was failing to properly empower employees. In any case it was my worst experience with a hotel in over 20 years. My wife & I checked into the BW Aspen on Friday afternoon as per our reservations. At time of check-in I presented at BW gift card for $20. Neither of the clerks on duty could properly give me credit for this. More than once I asked for room key so that we could go eat dinner. However, they kept us waiting for nearly a half hour just trying to entire correct info into computer. Eventually they let us have a key. What I didn't realize until much later was fact that instead of giving us a single $20 discount (that we should have received) they ADDED $20 to each days bill. On Saturday morning we went for 'free' breakfast. There was no juice, no eggs, no biscuits, no half & half, and no whole milk. The 2% milk dribbled from container. There were three 'hockey pucks' that they called sausage. So much more bad to say about lack of food, but no space left. At check-out again clerk was unable to make proper adjustments to bill. Again I was forced to wait nearly a half hour for 'management' involvement. At one point I heard the clerk call 'management at a sister hotel' to "come over here immediately." That person never came. My bill at that time was $60 more than it should have been. Finally, I was assured that I would receive an email with the correct amount.

"Terrible breakfast and noisy occupants"
They did not replenish the breakfast foods and when we asked the lady made excuses. Several people were complaining and she brought out a couple more biscuits, but didn't replenish the eggs or toast or orange juice. This happened on both days. The noise of the occupants next to us was terrible.

"Could have been better for a Best Western"
First of all you get a good price and without our experience I would have rated the hotel higher. We were checked in by a friendly and courteous lady. When we got into our room there was a cart from housekeeping with laundry in the room. The beds were not made up. So I went back to the frontdesk and she promptly appoligized and gave us another room. Unfortunately when we entered that room there was a smell like the room wasn't used for weeks. I think this is something the hotel needs to address. We got it better by running the airconditioning for a while. But when rooms are not used for a time I think housekeeping should ventilate the rooms once in a while to keep them fresh. Also the next morning the toilet did not flush anymore. It just fills up and then the water slowly drips away not flushing away the stuff that needed to. Reported this to the frontdesk that morning when checking out and it seems to be a known problem due to the plumbing and when it rains. So it is mostly our experience which causes this rate.

"Labor day fun!"
This hotel was great. Clean, great breakfast, and rooms were comfortable. Absolutely love The Best Western we have been too. Believe this maybe our new hotel!! They had a business center as well as a fitness room.
"Awesome Stay"
This was my first time to Fort Smith and didn't have time to see town. But the countryside was beautiful. Going to go back to explore town sometime in the future and will definitely stay here. I highly suggest others stay here too if their in Fort Smith.
""Best" Western - Value in Ft. Smith"
Great quick business trip stay. Very nice recently remodeled rooms, set back from busy main road, walking distance to several restaurants, easy access to major highways and airport. Staff were wonderful. Helped me out with a travel problem without hesitation. Had trouble submitting my first review on TA, so hope this isn't a dup.
"Best Western "
This is a nice inn that appears to have been recently renovated. Our room and bathroom were both spacious, comfortable, and clean. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker in our room. Front desk staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good, but I wish some yogurt had been available. During our entire visit, I did hear a far-off chirping that sounded like a smoke detector. I didn't keep me awake, but I did wonder why it hadn't been fixed. The parking lot was a little dark; one of the lights needed replacing. I also noticed the pool was covered, so don't count on that being open if you're planning a stay sometime soon.
"They're Back"
The BW Aspen has recently reopened after lengthy renovations. I think I caught their soft opening. Some of the second floor rooms needed finishing touches. I was offered a room on the second floor because the first floor had one room available and the second would be more quiet. It was a nice room with comfortable, pillow-top beds. There was a small fridge and microwave. The single serve coffee/tea maker was in the main room near the fridge. I prefer that to keeping it in the bathroom as some hotels do. The only finishing the room needed was a bit of touch up paint on a small patched spot on the wall, and I had to call the desk for TP. The staff was great. The room was quiet. A light breakfast was provided. You can walk across the parking lot to restaurants.
"Great Location "
Very nice hotel that is in a great location. There are several restaurants within walking distance and also a couple of drug stores. All of the hotel staff we came in contact with were pleasant and welcoming. Our room and the bathroom were both spacious and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The hotel was busy, but our room was very quiet - we were not disturbed by any hallway noise, etc. There is an elevator available for those that cannot navigate stairs. We were pleased with our stay here and would not hesitate to stay again.

"Business Trip Made Like Home"
Traveled to Fort Smith for business and this location is very desirable. The staff and hotel were very nice and I would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone. Workout facility is nice what you need to maintain your physical activity. As well as a nice pool area.

"ruff around the edges"
Fairly nice place in a good location. Needs some work in the room I had, desk chair was broken, you could sit in it but you had to be careful. my room was a suit and the hide abed was out when I arrived, the cushions were in the corner and had no fabric cover on them. the internet was very poor, coming in and out constantly, hard time checking email.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for this particular room. This room should have been put out of order and it seems there was an oversight. As far as the internet is concerned, there are multiple access points throughout the building and the internet has never been better. We are uncertain as to why it was intermittent for you. We will investigate this matter. We hope that this does not deter your from future visits. Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to your next visit.
"Nice place to stay"
This a very clean, affordable motel. We made reservations as we were traveling and arrived late in the evening. Check in was very easy, and when asked about a good place to eat, the clerk offered a 15% off coupon at a restaurant located across the parking lot. The motel has been recently renovated, and was very nice looking and clean. The motel was quiet and the bed was comfortable. We slept well. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of items. The motel is easy to get to, wit adequate, safe parking. We would stay here again.

"Nice stay!"
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and found the hotel to be very nice for the price. The check in process was quick and smooth. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was just ok but it was complimentary. We would stay here again.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Thank you for choosing us. We apologize that you found the breakfast to be just "ok". We are constantly working on modifying it to make ours stand out. Thank you for your feedback.
"Delightful surprise!"
This looks like it's been newly refurbished. It's freshly painted, the rooms are clean and the decor updated. I loved the use of quartz on all the surfaces in the room. It's nicely located next to 540. There's an Outback, Chick-Fil-A and an Applebee's all across the small street. A very easy walk. The breakfast had a nice selection of hot & cold foods. I really liked the plain and vanilla yogurts you could add topping to- like blueberrries or even the cereals. The staff was friendly. There was sign saying pets were welcome for $20.

"A solid value with FLAIR!"
Hot breakfast bar, convenience to airport, affordable shopping & restaurants including right next door, and the riverfront just a few easy, picturesque miles away make this mid-range hotel super practical. Secure, nicely decorated interiors, suite-style rooms, and extra friendly staff make it an absolute pleasure. As I left for the day after a leisurely famiily breakfast I noticed the announced routine maintenance on all the air conditioners. While ours was alright before this made it run super smooth and quiet for a better sleep than I've had at most other hotels regardless of price!
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We were glad to have you. We like to announce such things to offer the best opportunity for us to get these routine things done meanwhile not inconveniencing our guests. We look forward to your next visit.
"Home away from Home"
The hotel is great and the staff exceeds expectations in every way. I stay here every time i'm in the area. The staff are eager to help and make your time away from home as comfortable as possible. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Fort Smith area.
"Best staff ever..."
In times of crisis - when schedules are erratic and uncertain, the response of the staff speaks volumes. Every member of the front desk staff, on essentially every shift, went out of their way to assure that details of my stay that did not need to involve me were handled without a blink of the eye, The room was clean, breakfast while the standard hotel fare, was good. Should it be necessary for me to return to the area, this is where I will stay.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We appreciate your feedback. We were glad to have you and ensure that your stay was pleasant. We look forward to seeing you next time.
"Reviews are not accurate for this hotel"
We stayed at this place last night. When we first walked in to our assigned room the cleaning smell was so strong you couldn't take it. We were moved to another room where the smell was not quite as bad but we could not open the window more than 3 inches because it was broken. It was supposed to be recently remodeled but our bathroom looked like it been remodeled some years ago. The staff was nice and helpful, but smell from the cleaning solutions was just overpowering. The laundry room had two washers and two dryers, but only one washer worked and only one dryer worked. I would not recommend this place and we will not stay there again.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize that the security feature of the window was not to your liking. The windows do not open all the way to keep people from going in and out the windows rather than the door as intended. Additionally, we apologize for the smell of the cleaning solutions. They are organic in nature and are used to ensure cleanliness of the room. We do apologize for the one washer and one dryer being out of order. However, most overnight guests do not need more than the one washer and dryer to do laundry. We are working to replace the non-functional washer and dryer. Thank you for your feedback.
"Great Hotel. Definitely will use again"
Choose this hotel so family could be near my while had surgery at a nearby hospital. would definitely recommend to others. Very quiet rooms and area. Good location. Easy to find. Close to top rated hospitals. Great shopping in area
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We were glad to have you. Hopefully, your surgery went well. We look forward to your next visit, preferably without having to be in the hospital.
"Very nice hotel"
The Best Western Aspen Hotel is a clean and comfortable hotel in a good location near major highways. It is a just short drive to the downtown historic district and there are a number of restaurants nearby, a few within walking distance. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful.

We appreciate your feedback. We were glad to have you and look forward to your next visit.
"Not Bad"
Not bad overall, breakfast could of been a little better but bed was comfortable and room was clean. Exit door closest to room couldn't be used to enter hotel which would of been nice for carrying luggage into our room since the room was ate the rear of the hotel.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for the door near your room. We have been working to correct the issue. However, we do provide carts to make the carrying easier. We appreciate your feedback and we look forward to your next visit. Thank you for choosing us.
"BW Aspen Fort Smith Arkansas"
very typical hotel with downstairs self serve breakfast and wifi with microwave & fridge in room The difference here at BW Aspen is the staff I have stayed at a dozen different type hotels from spring hill suites to BW to Comfort Inns & LaQuintas THIS PLACE stands out because of the staff. All the hotels are similar the Staffing is not THIS PLACE is tops because of the staff !

We certainly appreciate your feedback. You are absolutely right and that is why we focus on taking care of our guests. We look forward to your next visit.
"Great beds"
Very clean friendly and relaxing stay. Breakfast was only not the best. Very minimal options. Was pretty well empty when we showed up at 8:00. Never saw anyone refilling the pans. Regardless I would still stay there again. Everything else trumps the breakfast.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for the timing on the breakfast. The breakfast is relatively elaborate and it must have been that our attendant was working on replacing missing items. However, we apologize that you never saw anyone refilling it. We will look into this. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your stay otherwise. We look forward to seeing you next time.
"Lovely Hotel"

"Exceptional service, great location and good value for money"
Best Western Aspen Hotel is one of the best, value-for money hotels we have stayed in during 9 weeks of travel. The service was great with the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The location suited us wel, just off the highway with a good choice of restaurants close by. This hotel comes highly recommended

"Opinion Changes"
I previously didn't have the highest opinion about the Best Western hotel chain. The Best Western Aspen in Fort Smith has changed my mind. We stopped one night on a road trip. Clean. Modestly priced. Decent breakfast. Comfortable bed. Those are my four things a hotel needs to be. The Best Western Aspen checked all those boxes. *Bonus* We left an iPad in our room when we left (we remembered our baby though...) It didn't have a passcode. Wifi only. The hotel staff called us and held it until we could come back later on our return trip through Fort Smith. Very pleased. Very surprised. Stay here if my four reasons are important to you and you're forgetful.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We greatly appreciate you choosing us. We are also very glad to know that we changed your mind about Best Western. We look forward to your next visit.

"Acceptable"
This Best Western was a little ways from the i40 but not unreasonably far. The hotel is walking distance to numerous food joints. The room was clean and everything was in working order. The check-in and check-out process was quick and easy.

"Fort Smith Best Western"
Was overall pleased with the hotel and very pleased with the professionalism and politeness of the hotel staff. Internet was good in the room and room cleanliness was good. Pool area could use some privacy fencing as the pool faces directly into the parking lot and it is high traffic area. Over very pleased and would return if business returns me to Fort Smith

"This Hotel is Head and Shoulders above others!!"
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and their caring staff. I am a retired military veteran, walk with a cane and travel with my PTSD Service Dog. The front desk clerk took it upon herself to go out and unload my luggage for me and take it to my room!!! The young lady running the breakfast area welcomed me as I came into breakfast....told me to have a seat and she would bring my breakfast to me!!! Whoever trained these people did a fabulous job. The room was clean and comfortable...and the wifi was excellent. You will not be sorry if you decide to stay here!

"Front Desk Kacy and Debbie are the best!"
When I arrived I was very tired and Kacy came into the parking lot with a luggage dolly to help me to the room. That was a very nice thing to do. She made my visit relaxing and nice. In the morning, I missed the breakfast so Debbie made up a few items for me to take on the road. The entire staff are very nice and make you feel welcomed. I will always look for Best Western as my first choice because of the professional staff at BW.

"Quiet little hotel"
Nice decor, decent room amenities and helpful staff. Few things needs attention, bath tub not draining, smoke odour in corridors and better quality breakfast with more fresh items. Josh was very nice.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for the smoke odor in the halls. As we are a completely non-smoking hotel, this is of concern to us. Sometimes guests smoke just outside the exit doors and this can lead to smoke in the halls. Unfortunately, slow draining tubs and sinks are a common issue in the industry. We apologize for this and will address it directly. Also, we will address the issue you had with breakfast and determine why the breakfast was not fresh. Thank you for choosing us and we hope to see you in the future.
"Great Hotel"
Staff were very kind and helpful. I had to extend my stay twice, one of which required a room change, and the staff were very accommodating. It also has a great location -- close to a lot of different restaurants. I would definitely return to this hotel.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Thank you for letting us be there for you.
"The Best Best Western! "
This is one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed in. Property was clean, updated and comfortable. This hotel had the best bed. Staff was great, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Highly recommend this property. No complaints about this hotel.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We strive to be the Best Best Western and not the second Best Best Western. Thank you for giving us a chance and letting us take care of you.
"Good Value and Location"
Extremely friendly help at the front desk. Near several restaurants so that you can walk to dinner and not have to drive. Rooms were very clean, modern, updated, and pretty good sized. Very safe area in Fort Smith, right across from the hospital. Parking lot is well lit.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Thank you for choosing us. We were happy to have you.
"Safe Haven"
The very kind people in this hotel were surprised when we arrived via Amarillo and Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, late April, as there has been heavy rains and 20 tornadoes warnings across Oklahoma that day. 6 were dead and the Arkansas Governor declared a State of Emergency. Our destination the next day in the Ozark Mtns. was one of the worst affected. The Manager assigned us an upstairs room, advised us where to go to eat and generally made sure we were made aware of Fort Smith and its surrounds, going so far as to give us guidance about our Ozark trip if the weather improved. Our large King room was extremely comfortable, with good heating, a comfortable bed, fluffy towels, large cable TC, free wifi and plenty of coffee sachets. The centre of town was a short drive away, which we explored when the rain lifted soon after we arrived. Breakfast was the usual kind. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We recommend staying here.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We were glad to have you. We are happy to know that we were able to offer the assistance and comfort you needed in such a precarious time. We look forward to keeping you on your next visit.
"Traveling from GA to NM"
Our family recently relocated from GA to ABQ, NM. Fort Smith AR was the halfway point. We stayed at the Best Western & received exceptional device which we did not expect traveling with a small dog. The hotel staff was friendly & helpful bringing us towels out to the pool & helping my daughter make a waffle at breakfast. It was a wonderful experience after a long day of travel!
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We aim to please. It was our pleasure to help with the waffle and towels. We strive to offer all our guests the best service and are glad to know that was your recent experience. We look forward to your next visit.
"Ft. smith"
Enjoyed our time in Ft. Smith. Nice hotel with access to places we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay at this bite, again if we are ever in the Ft. Smith area in the future. We had a great experience at this hotel. The hot breakfast was a real treat it having to find a place to eat before we got on the road

We were certainly glad to have you. We are happy to know that you had a pleasant stay and look forward to seeing you on your next trip.
"Relaxing stay"
This was a surprisingly nice stay. Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was better quality than expected. The staff was very friendly, and the place was very clean. It was a very relaxing 2 night stay after a 15 hour drive. Would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for choosing us. We were glad to you have you and look forward to your next visit. We take pride in our little "home away from home".
"It was okay"
The hotel staff was very friendly, however, the hotel itself seemed outdated. Our bathtub wouldn't drain while we took showers, so that wasn't pleasant. The rooms were clean and we did sleep comfortable.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize that you found the hotel to be outdated. We would point out, however, that the building was entirely renovated less than 2 years ago. We apologize that the bathtub did not drain properly, but this is common in hotels. We try to take care of these issues in advance, but sometimes they get overlooked. We will look into this matter. We hope that this one issue does not deter you from giving us a chance in the future. Thank you for your feedback as this helps us to address issues.
"Clean and Comfy"
This is a recently renovated hotel with nice decor. It's close to several restaurants. The best thing though were the beds! Most hotels, in my experience, have soggy beds, but these were fairly firm by hotel standards.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Thank you for choosing us for your stay. We were glad to have you and look forward to your next visit. We are glad to know that we were able to provide you with comfort beyond your expectations.
"First Time in this Hotel"
Had a pleasant stay. Staff was incredibly friendly, smiling, goes out of their way to be helpful. Great location in close proximity to restaurants, I540 and Rogers Avenue. Could use a carpet shampooer and more no smoking signs by the hotel doors, but great value for the price. Good breakfast selection. Will definitely stay here again.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We thank you for choosing us and we will look into additional no smoking signs. We are a totally non-smoking hotel, however, as you may have noticed people still smoke and tend to do it at the doors. We look forward to your next stay. Thank you.
"Excellence"

"Excellent Stay"
In town for daughters graduation. This is by far the best property that I have stayed at in a long time. Newly renovated. I was in Room 202 and everything was perfect. I will definitely be back when I visit Fort Smith again in the near future. Close to everything!!

"Spic and Span!"
This BW was by far the best I've ever stayed at. The room has all the amenities you need for a business trip stay. The bathroom was very clean, all tile with a jetted tub (that I definitely enjoyed after a long day) and the bed was way more comfortable than I was expecting. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

We are pleased to have had you and that your stay was enjoyable. We strive to give everyone a great stay every time. We appreciate your feedback because that lets us know how we are doing. We look forward to your next visit.
"Well worth considering"
The room was very large and well furnished. Everything was clean. The king bed was comfortable. The free Wi-Fi was very fast. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was OK but not outstanding. There are decent restaurants within easy walking distance.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We appreciate your feedback. We apologize that the breakfast did not meet your expectations. We are constantly working with it to improve. We will continue in this effort. Thank you for choosing us for your stay.
"Good value"
Pleasant hotel and close to many eating places. Staff on front desk were very friendly and helpful. Room was large but faced the car hotel carp ark and also car park for an eating place, which made it noisy until theses places closed. Did hear too much noise from the main road after 10pm. We tended to hear more noise from the other people staying who walked up the stairs and passed our room on the way to theirs. Breakfast was adequate and again staff very helpful and pleasant. Would stay again but on other side away from car park.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for the noise level. As you noted we do share a parking lot with another business. On the plus side, at least it is a food establishment where one can go have dinner without driving. We appreciate your feedback and please feel free to request a room not only on the other side, but away from stairwells. We would be happy to accommodate. Otherwise, we are happy you had a pleasant stay. We look forward to your next visit.
"Very nice for a road trip"
This BW was easy to find, was very clean, and recently renovated. Elevator was nice. The price was good. Beds were very comfortable. Had a good breakfast which was standard for the Best Westerns we'd stayed at on this road trip.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We appreciate you choosing the Best Western/Aspen for your stay. We strive to give the best experience to our guests. We will work harder next time to get 5 stars as opposed to just 4. Please feel free to let us know how we can improve.
"Adequate...Decent Value"
Check-in was somewhat prompt, room was mostly clean and smelled of Lysol. Bed was hard/lumpy, pillows were numerous but one good pillow would have been preferable to 4 lumps of polyfil. Wi-Fi was good. Breakfast was adequate, but would have been better if staff could have kept up with customer demand...had to wait for at least one hot food item every morning. Apple juice ran out after first day...stayed empty for remaining two days; was not aware of apple concentrate shortage in the area. Check-out was uneventful. Overall, its a three star hotel, experience and value.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We are displeased to hear that your stay was not to our/your standard. All beds and pillows are less than a year old, so we are not certain why they would have been lumpy. We apologize that breakfast was not maintained efficiently enough so as not to have to wait for something. As far as the apple juice is concerned, there is no shortage and it would not or should not have been left empty for 2 days. However, our machine is in the process of being changed out because the light on the apple juice always says it needs a refill. This is a sensor problem and not an apple juice shortage. We apologize for the terrible experience and hope this does not prevent you from giving us another chance in the future.
"Best Western Aspen Fort Smith Ar"

"Very clean, friendly staff"
The hotel was clean and updated and the staff were all really nice. The breakfast person was really helpful and everything was fully stocked at all times. Great place to stay. The parking lot was well lit and it was easy to get to and from my room to my car. Very safe and quiet place.

"Nice place"
The room was nice and plenty big, had microwave, coffee, and fridge. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower had plenty of pressure and warm water, it was quite and breakfast was good. A little farther off interstate 40 than we wanted.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We are sorry about being so far from I-40, but we were glad to be of service. We hope to see you next time you are in our area.
"Wasn't our first choice but I'd stay again."
We tried to stay at a different hotel but there was no room. They called the BW and they did have a few rooms left. The BW was just down the street so we checked in. Our room was clean and comfortable. The entire hotel was pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was the basics, nothing fancy. The cook kept making the rounds to assure things were full and fresh. Overall a goon night stay.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We were glad to be of service. We hope that in the future we will be your first choice. We like to have a breakfast attendant on staff to ensure that breakfast keeps coming from 6 am to 9 am. See you soon...
"Friendly Staff"
This hotel is very quiet. We were traveling a long distance and this hotel is clean and quiet. We were pulling a U haul trailer and they had great parking, which easily accommodated it. Chili's restaurant is within walking distance as is a drug store with more all around. It's a great location for the traveler. The price of a room was reasonable as well. They are pet friendly if you are traveling with your fur-kid. Timothy Glass, author of Just This Side of Heaven and Postcards

We appreciate you choosing us for your stay. We are glad to know that we made your stay comfortable and hope to see you the next time you are our way.
"Family Reunion Stay"
The room was very clean, the bed a little soft, breakfast ran short by the time we ate at 7:30 am. The location was actually out of the way for us since our family reunion was in Sallisaw, OK and it would have been nice to know that before I booked the room. Had I known I would have still booked accommodations in Fort Smith, but closer to our reunion site.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize that the hotel is 40 miles away from Sallisaw, but I hope we at least made your stay comfortable. When we are full, breakfast can be quite hectic which is why we staff a breakfast attendant. We hope that we see you for your next reunion.
"Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff,Clean Hotel"
Nice hotel, great location within walking distance to restaurants and retail stores. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and in order. Easy access to the wifi, 32" flat screen TV WAS nice and comfortable beds. Hot Breakfast that was maintained well by friendly staff. Well worth the price. Enjoy your stay...

Thank you for the compliments. Not to be contrary, however, but our T.V.s are actually 43". :) We are pleased that you had a pleasant stay as this is our goal. Please come see us again.
"Awesome, newly decorated hotel!"
We booked 2 rooms recently while visiting my brother in Ft. Smith. This hotel was very reasonably priced and the reviews were good so I thought I would take a chance, and I am so thankful I did! Everything was new and spotless. The staff was wonderful and did a pretty decent job keeping up with the large breakfast crowd. We were able to book 2 rooms for the same amount 1 room would have cost at a comparible hotel close by. Also, the fact that this is a pet friendly hotel is also a plus. Highly recommend and will definitely be back here in the future!

We thank you for your patronage. We are so pleased to hear that you had the type of stay we strive to provide. We hope to see you in the future.
"nerver come back"
bad costumer service RON was very rude i ask for another room becasue my have stains all over couch he didn't try to find any room he see don't have any and good look find other one I drive next street and fine room for better price and bran new and better costumer service

We apologize for your terrible experience. When the hotel is full, we can not kick another guest out of a room. However, you should have been given the opportunity to accept free rewards points to apply to future stays with Best Western. We will investigate the customer service issue you faced and retrain where needed.
"Friendly Hotel"
The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! This hotel is on a main street with lots of restaurants nearby, also convenient to the interstate. Room was nice, clean and quiet. We were here for just one night, but traveled through downtown Fort Smith, and it seemed very quaint. Wish I had more time to visit the downtown area. We would return to this hotel and Fort Smith, Arkansas.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Excellent. We are glad to know we could offer a clean, quiet respite for your brief stay. We hope that when you decide to come back to Fort Smith to visit again, we will be the first and only choice for your stay.
"Three day weekend getaway"
Recently refurbished and clean. My only complaint is the housekeeping team parking their carts in the hallway between the elevator /stairs and the rest of the main floor during the morning "rush". When you're trying to maneuver suitcases to the lobby the last thing you need is unnecessary obstacles. Breakfast so so. Nothing to brag about but sufficient. Beds were very comfortable! A big deal for us! No problem with noise. Appreciated convenience of updated USB chargers, something we missed at our next hotel in rogers.
"Nice clean comfortable rooms"
This was our first stop on trip out west, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice selection for breakfast too. You could tell it had recently been updated. Would diffidently stay here again if we pass through Ft Smith, Ark
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We are happy to know that we were able to offer you a pleasant stay. Yes, we are less than a year Best Western. We strive to offer an accommodating stay for all our guests. We want everyone to leave here happy. We train our staff to be friendly and helpful, we offer a wide variety for breakfast, and we maintain our rooms. We take pride in our establishment and it sounds as though we are succeeding.
"Touring The West"
As stated in the other comment sections BW's across the WEST have been nice places to stay, they were well decorated, maintained, some pools were out of service due to being painted. The attendants were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The Complimentary breakfast areas and food were good. My only question is again how can there be so much price difference between BW's across the WEST any were between $10 - $60 and that's being a REWARDS MEMBER.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We seek to set the standard in the industry and as you have noticed, Best Western has very high standards. As for price differences, each Best Western is independently owned and operated. Prices are often a reflection of the market in that particular area. Prices are not guaranteed by Best Western and are subject to owner/operator discretion.
"Nice, sufficient, convenient stay!"
My co worker & I stayed here for a wk of business, it was conveniently located, plenty of restaurants around it, it had free breakfast, which was great. Rooms were a tad small, but clean, nice spacious bathrooms. Will definitely stay here again.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Awesome. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We apologize that you found the room small, but it sounds like we made up for that with breakfast, cleanliness, and large bathrooms. We hope to see you back soon.
"Decent"
The lady working was very nice. The rooms seemed to have been recently updated. We rented a suite so our kids would have a bed. The mattress in the fold out couch was horrible!!! My daughter ended up sleeping with us and my son slept on the couch folded up. Linens were not readily available in the room. The king size bed had a very firm mattress.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for the comfort of the new pull-out sofa bed. We do, however, have rooms with two queen beds so that we can accommodate up to four guests. We apologize that our suite did not meet your expectations. We will look into solving that problem. We also apologize that we did not anticipate your needs for additional linen. We do provide additional linens at your request. We hope that this does not deter you from giving us another chance.
"Needs improvement"
The last thing you want to do when you come off of a long motorcycle trip is to walk into a hot hotel lobby and stand there waiting for the lady at the desk to struggle getting you checked in for an inordinate length of time. Breakfast was crazy. they weren't putting out enough food for the number of people trying to eat. We didn't even get a complete breakfast. The room was the only bright spot. It was clean and updated.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for the temperature of the lobby. One of our A/C units was out during that time. Unfortunately that is something that must be left to a third party professional and thereby is completed on their time. It is also unfortunate that during that time was the annual Bikes, Blues and Barbecue event that sells out every hotel in town. We do endeavor to get everyone checked in as quickly and as conveniently as possible. We apologize about the timing. We promise to do better next time and the lobby Air has since been restored. We apologize that breakfast was so hectic. It was a busy weekend and we do try to keep the breakfast stocked, but since we are not a restaurant with a full kitchen, it can be difficult to keep enough available. This is why we offer the breakfast for 3 hours so as to accommodate as many as possible. Also this why we offer so many things for breakfast. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage, waffles, pastries, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, juices, milks, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs. We hope that you give us another chance to make it right.
"Far Exceeds Expectations and Budget Friendly"
This hotel has been recently updated, and the management did a fantastic job of renovating it. The bathroom is modern and has a dark marble-look tile in the shower and on the floor. There are white quartz countertops throughout the room. Bed is comfy with nice crisp sheets. Not only is it updated and comfy, the rates are very budget friendly. The staff is friendly and helpful too.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Thank you for your kind words. We are proud of the renovations ourselves. In our effort to suit our guests, we thought it was time for an update. We aim to be the best hotel in town with the most reasonable rates. Everyone who stays with us should feel at home. We look forward to your next visit.
"Nice"
We had no lodging reservations when we started out on our motorcycle from Texas. After 470 miles we decided to find a place to sleep. Stopped in at the Best Western and asked if the have a room' available. The ladies first words were, "Yes, we have a king suite. It usually rents for $99 nightly but I can give it to you for $87. Does that sound ok?". Uh, sure. We weren't expecting a discount and especially not offered so quickly. The room was clean and I enjoyed a nice hot Jacuzzi bath after a long day of bike riding. The breakfast offered the next morning was good. A great variety. Would definitely stay there again.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We are very pleased you had a pleasant stay. We encourage our staff to be friendly and helpful. The whirlpool bath can be very soothing after a long ride. Feel free to specifically request the same on your next visit. We look forward to having you stay with us again.
"No wifi"
I was pleased with the effort generally of the staff. But they should have offered me a discount or a true savings on my next stay. Keep the customer happy. The poor clerk at the front was having to clean the rooms and didn't show up until 15 minutes later.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We apologize for the WiFi issues. We are in the process of resolving the intermittent signal issues. Our internet service solutions techs have been notified and are working to determine the issues. We apologize that the issues coincided with your stay. You should have been offered points toward your Rewards account. We will be certain to include, in our next training session, how to resolve these type of issues. Thank you for your input, as this helps us to provide better service for your future stays.
"Very good"
Stayed one night. Hotel is clean and modern, seems recently renovated. Nice tile bathroom and spacious room. A little bit of noise from outside, but can't blame the hotel for a beeping truck backing up. Excellent bed and pillows.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Thank you. We are just recently renovated and we thank you for noticing. We also hope you had to opportunity to use our outdoor pool during your stay. Our new fitness and business centers are also available to our guests. We hope to see you in the future...
"Nice for the price!"
The hotel was nice and clean. We stayed two nights. It had a nice looking pool, which we didn't try. It is close to any stores or restaurants you could think of The breakfast was OK. Not great. If you want to toast a muffin or toast, I would suggest putting in the toaster and then go shower and change. The first morning it seemed to take forever, so the second morning I timed it. It popped up at just over 7 minutes. I suggested to morning staff it might be nice to get a new one. She said it was new. But over all good value, and clean and neat inside and out.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
We are sorry you did not get the opportunity to use the pool. With so many options available for dinner, the most difficult thing is to make a choice. We did buy a brand new toaster and apologize that it took so long. Sometimes the settings get adjusted for those who like their toast darker. We are always working to modify breakfast to meet the needs of the most and we are always open to any suggestions. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again in the near future. Perhaps it will be before summer ends and so you can make use of our outdoor pool.
"Mrs"
Beautifully newly remodeled! The suite we got was clean and roomy. The breakfast was definitely awesome! The Wi-Fi signal is strong. Right in the middle of the Rogers Avenue hub. Thanks for a great stay!
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Thank you for the great review. This is the experience we want everyone to have. Did you get to use our fitness or business centers? With so many options available for breakfast, like biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit, it is difficult to miss. Also, we like to provide the "Grab and Go" option for those who may get so comfortable they decide to sleep late or those who may need to get back on the road early. We aim to please.
"Great Hotel"
This hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Everything we asked for was quickly gotten and brought to us with a smile. The breakfast was great too and was included in the price. Definitely will stay here again.
GuestRelationsBWQ, Guest Relations Manager at BEST WESTERN Aspen Hotel, responded to this review
Awesome! We encourage our staff to attend to our guests needs and we are pleased to hear that it is so. We look forward to taking care of you in the future.
"Always clean and pleasant"
Very knowledgeable staff, VERY clean rooms, and very courteous check in and out. It is a bit hard to find, but there is a light that turns to the right at Chili's that will take you straight in and out with ease. They always great us with a smile and all the employees are very helpful.
"Best Western Aspen"
The hotel has been remodeled and up dated since my last stay. It is very modern looking, clean and comfortable. The staff were all very polite and friendly. I will stay here again on my next visit to Ft. Smith.
"Rooms very comfortable, well decorated"
The rooms are very comfortable and well decorated. However, the management was absent for 3 days. It appeared as though the maids were left to run the hotel. The front desk was unattended. The breakfast was great.
"Very Disappointed"
During this stay we found a broken toilet seat, cracked tiles and mold. We asked housekeeping to have maintenance replace the broken toilet seat and clean up the mold but it never happened. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last ten years but after the renovation and becoming a Best Western the quality has really gone down. We visit Fort Smith three to four times each year and have decided to find a different hotel for our future stays.
"Pretty nice"
Most all the staff were courteous and helpful with the exception of the check in staff who seemed annoyed to have to check guests in- really? Everything else about the stay was awesome! Clean, comfy, convenient to food and shopping all around.
"Need to train the front desk staff."
I have stayed here 4 times in the past 4 months. I was very impressed with the facilities and thought I got an excellent price by booking through Trip Advisor. I was a little taken back by the front desk clerk, who seemed sort of lazy. Later that night, I actually caught her asleep. Oh well maybe she didn't feel well. Second stay it was the same lady, but she did better. Third visit was a new person, who was very young but she made her way through it, just not very fast. She actually had to call someone else in to assist her. I assumed she was still being trained. This last weekend I again booked my room through trip advisor but somehow got onto Price Line sight. When I went to check in the clerk was too involved with putting paper into the printer to check me in. I waited 15 minutes. Finally when she had the time, we discovered that Price Line had put the reservation on the wrong day. She said she could change it, but the room would be at a different price. From $72 to $120.00. When I told her I had been staying her each month and always paid the $72 rate, she said that Best Western corporation made them raise their rates. I walked out! Terrible customer service.
"Ok, but Overpriced"
This is a clean, but older Best Western. While I dont have anything bad to say about it I do think 100 dollars a night before taxes is to much for a room at this hotel. The hotel was suppose to have been updated, but the only update that stood out was the bathroom fixtures.
"Great hotel"
We loved this hotel. Newer, clean, nice rooms and comfortable beds, good breakfast, close to he interstate and town tourist areas. Close to restaurants and other stores. really nice town and safe. Would stay here again.
"Best Western Apsen, Fort Smith, Arkansas"
The facility itself is very nice. It is freshly renovated. There is plenty of eating opportunities in the area. Unfortunately the staff also needs to be renovated. They do not meet the standards I expect of Best Western. Additionally, the room itself lacked care from housekeeping. There was a partial soda in the refrigerator accompanied by a yogurt that was 6 days past sell by date. There was also an opened bar of soap in the shower.
"best of the best western"
You never know what you may get with a Best Western location. This location was top notched, clean comfortable rooms Rooms looked like they have just been refurbished with new furniture. Good Breakfast using state of the art chafers to keep food at the right temps. Good Value and friendly staff.
"Best Western Aspen"
We spent one night in Fort Smith and stayed at Best Western Aspen. This hotel was recently taken over by Best Western so they just have a temporary sign over the driveway entrance. However, the hotel has been remodeled and we were very satisfied. Check-in was good and the lobby was nice. The room had a king bed, the bath was new having been remodeled and everything was clean. Breakfast was very good with many items and the breakfast room was good size. Parking was good and the location is next to Chili's & Outback, also a shopping area. The only negative would be they need to paint around the window sill in the room. Otherwise, this was a very good hotel.
"Great Stay"
I stayed here one night. I love that the hotel is non-smoking. The rooms were clean and crisp and the continental breakfast was a plus. It consisted of coffee, juice, bakery items, eggs, bacon, and waffles. I would stay here again.
"Very Nice Motel"
This Motel is located very close to everything, Easily accessible from the interstate. 4 miles from the convention center. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and well attended. Would stay there again.
"Very Nice Weekend Getaway"
Barb and I decided to go away for the weekend. We headed to Fort Smith. We saw good reviews for this hotel, and we were not disappointed. Nice rooms, comfy bed, and wonderful staff. The breakfast was great. Coffee all day. Very nice hotel.
"Quality people, average room"
The people that work there were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The room a/c fan sounded like It was spinning on a tin can. So we could not run the unit. The room did not smell fresh. Smelled like it had been closed up for awhile.
"EXCELLENT!!"
According to previous reviews, this hotel has recently been renovated. The building looked very nice, and it was immaculately clean!! Kelly welcomed us and checked us in. She was warm and kind... answered every question we had with a smile... and we did bug her quite a bit in the first hour. Room was ultra clean. Bed and pillows very very comfy. Only two issues: WiFi was spotty at best... kept getting kicked off. While the bathroom and shower were fantastic, the floor is EXTREMELY slippery when wet... had to put down towels for traction. Aside from that, excellent lodging at a great price!!
"Satisfied with our stay"
We stayed one night in a 2-Queen non-smoking room. Full breakfast is offered. There are other restaurant choices nearby. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Pretty quiet for a Saturday night stay. Recommended.
"Friendly and cooperative"
I was having surgery and needed to check in for pre-op procedures. Was no problem. Requested an open ended reservation and that also was no problem. They worked with us when we really needed to stretch the rules. We really, really appreciated their extra effort to help us though this process.
"A great place to stay!!"
We couldn't have chosen a nicer place for a break! The room was perfect, clean & convenient. Restaurants galore! Wish we could have stayed longer. Would recommend it to anyone!! Oh, I required a handicap room & it exceeded my expectations. Even to a phone in the bathroom in case of an emergency!
"awesome staff"
excellent experience, clean and equipped rooms. always friendly and helpful staff. will definetly be back again soon I would love to have same room again for tonight and tomorrow night as well. I hope they can accomadate my needs . once again ,awesome stay
"Beautiful Renivations"
The owners have spent a fortune upgrading the property to bring it to Best Western standards. I stayed at the hotel several weeks over the past 6 months for business and have seen the place change. I was there the week they were awarded the Best Western name. Everything is new and upgraded, from the bathrooms to the beds and TV's not to mention the reception area and Breakfast Nook. Breakfasts service needs some improvement as they do not have an attendant maintaining the area and service is touch and go depending upon who is working the front desk. I think that will improve in time, at least I hope so.
"Loved it"
I stayed here while my dad was in the hospital at Mercy. Very convenient to the hospital and they offered a reduced rate Mercy Hospital patient families. Very clean and updated rooms and the staff is exceptionally friendly! I cannot say enough good things about Aspen Hotel!
"Beautiful Remodel"
Wow! I really enjoyed my stay a great hotel with super amenities at a great value. The Aspen Inn and Suites has been rebranded as the Best Western Aspen And with the rebranding has come a 100% remodel. They've done a beautiful job! The UAFS Alumni Association has selected the hotel as a Preferred Partner and for good reasons. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, their 1,000 square foot conference room is great for meetings. What I appreciated is their fitness facility with all new equipment. Lavonda and her team made me feel like family. I highly recommend that when you are planning a trip to Fort Smith you can't do better than the Best Western Aspen
"5 star customer service ENTIRE staff"
Hands down the best customer service I have ever had!!! I've traveled the country from coast to coast and for 6 years had to stay in a hotel 70% of the year for my job. Not to mention when I traveled for pleasure. From 59$ per night to 450$ per night. The service from Lavonda (general manager) went way over above and beyond, head house keeper, down to their counterparts when not on site. I recommend staying at this close to everything hotel even the airport is down the street.
"Good enough for sleep, but that's it."
This might have been the first time in years that I was really disappointed with my hotel choice. I booked a room there months before my travel date because of the good reviews that I read about. About two weeks before I went, I checked reviews and someone had mentioned the renovation that was going on. I thought, well, it might not be so bad. Plus, the weekend I was going was very busy so I didn't have much of a selection by this time. The lobby and hallways were completely stripped. The room we stayed in was fine though. It's just a typical motel room. I'm glad the AC was cold enough for us and it was helpful to have the microwave and mini fridge. The people at the front desk were very nice, too. We had friends staying at Comfort Inn which was just a block away and their rooms were definitely much nicer (nicest Comfort Inn we've ever seen! The rooms looked like Hyatt or Marriott). So, if we were to come back, we would definitely choose to stay there instead. Maybe after all the renovations are complete here it'll be better.
"Comfortable Bed... lots of fuffy pillows"
We stayed three nights in a standard king room. Nice Large room with fridge, microwave, desk, stuffed chair with ottoman. Looked like room was just renovated. A/C works great. TV was permanently and tightly installed inside a cabinet so access to HDMI port to hook up my phone for netflix was not possible in our room. Bathroom was a good size. Marble on counter and in bath with jacuzzi. I used the jacuzzi and it was very nice. The bed was comfortable and had five fuffy pillows and a bed roll pillow. Nice. My husband thought the pillows were a little small for a king bed but I liked them. Fuffiest I've seen in a hotel. Breakfast was available. Cereals, oatmeal packages, bagels, apples, eggs, sausage. The sausage was wonderful. The day I tried the scrambled eggs, they were a little bland and dry. I did not check them any other day. The blueberry bagels and banana muffins were delicious. Hotel is under renovation but I never heard any noise nor was I inconvenienced or uncomfortable at any time. Main work in the lobby. Halls are primed but not painted yet. Staff is very friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Comfortable room.
