Decent enough hotel could use some updating in the bathrooms. Staff was very friendly and effective. It was in a good location for me. Parking felt secure. The breakfast was very good. They are using the restaurant next door with vouchers currently. Hotel is currently being remodeled
To rate this hotel "average" is not a bad rating. This is a 2-star hotel that was never intended to compete with the Four Seasons. You get basic accommodations: bed, TV, bathroom, microwave, refrigerator, ironing board and iron, internet, coffee maker. Everything is low quality, but it is clean and everything works. Lots of road noise. Garden style construction means that people walk past your windows, requiring you to keep your blinds shuttered. Too many families with kids makes things noisy. Mediocre restaurant next door.
The room was big, very clean, a little dated but that was OK as we were there for just one night. Dog friendly hotel with reasonable $20 charge. We were on lower floor and we could hear the guy walking above us (and he was not messing around, the ceiling is just thin and not insulated). Breakfast at restaurant next door included. Had a little trouble using the soap-shampoo-conditioner dispensers. Really friendly and helpful staff. Good location close to stores.
This hotel is sub par and has horrible customer service. When I complained about the cleanliness broken heater, busted light and stained bed spread the office staff came to the room but refused to actually walk in the door; photos are taken.
The hotel was just about as average as can be. The room was small, but standard, the amenities were few, and the outdoor night lighting was sparse. About the only feature we really enjoyed was the hot / cold fresh-water dispenser in the lobby. If we stay in Susanville again, we will probably stay elsewhere.
I'm not sure how this hotel maintains its affiliation with the best western chain. I would recommend any other place in Susanville before this place. I think they use their affiliation to lure unsuspecting travelers in but stay somewhere else if you can.
Severe cancellation policy, I had health considerations (fire smoke and dust storm when I arrived.) But no cancellation allowed-we could not even discuss the matter. Old motel turned Best Western...nice finishes in an old building. Door does not seal on sides and bottom, so I used towels to block dust from entering the room
Very disappointed in this property. Dirty bathroom (toilet, shower, towels), and carpet had stains and was not vacuumed. Mini fridge didn't have a freezer section. Breakfast was from a special limited menu at nearby restaurant. This hotel is way OVERPRICED.
The SureStay in Susanville CA was a "FAKE" Best Western! Been staying in Best Westerns all my travels over many years and will never stay in a SureStay again! If I were the CEO of Best Western I'd get "by BW" off the sign, especially in Susanville, CA. Never felt "ripped-off" at a "real" Best Western, but was at this piece of junk room!
Horrible. I will never stay here ever again. Manager would not budge on our early check out and maid service stole my property that I tried to retrieve. Manager supposed to contact me and failed to reach out and discuss my dissatisfaction. Never again.
The AC was nice and cold. Bed was comfy, but the pillow was lumpy. Room was clean but a bit of mold in the bathroom. Great hot breakfast made to order. Coffee 24/7. Room had coffee maker ,mini fridge, blow dryer. Soap, shampoo and conditioner pumps empty. Front desk staff was super friendly and quick.
Front desk is very fast, friendly, efficient. Good quality for the price you pay. A restaurant on premises opens at 7:00 where you can get a value of breakfast or upgrade to any of their delicious menu items. We have stayed there many times. There's a Walmart and a Safeway down the street if you forgot anything The only place in town that we do stay.
There is a roach hidden in the towels. The room seems really old and poorly remodeled. Looks like the quality of $30 hotel. Would never go again. Super smelly in the bathroom. Room is overall small.
We were immediately upgraded to a suite based on our Diamond status with Best Western. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the location was walkable to restaurants.
Check-in was a pleasure - courteous, friendly, and welcoming... even going so far as to change rooms when it was discivered that the soap, conditioner, shampoo, and body wash dispensers had been removed from the room. (I had my own supplies, so no need for a different room.) BUT... check-out the next morning did not go as well! Check-out clerk had an "I could care less" attitude when presented with 2 of the 19 bugs found crawling around the bathroom the next morning, the report ofslow draining sink and tub, and the crater in the middle of their "new" mattress - responding with, "I'll let management know" to each. No acknowledgement of the issues, no offer of adjustment or compensation, just a snide, "I'll let management know." So this is my way of letting management know - it's called CUSTOMER Service for a reason, and this clerk just doesnt get it! I'm sure the other rooms, with their recent renovations, new tv's and mattresses, and bug free environments are wonderful. It's just sad that none of the reported issues were of a concern to the check-out clerk.
Comfortable and clean room. Finally a quiet air conditioner was a bonus. Best breakfast so far, real tasty eggs and nice and fluffy pancakes. Service was good close to shopping and restaurants. Only issue we had was none of the soap dispensers had anything in them.
This place is disgusting. Hotel staff is nice, breakfast restaurant was good. But room was horrid. I actually had to check to make sure there wasn't bed bugs.
This is one of those places that we imagine was really excellent at one time. The rooms are comfortable and we liked the linens. But the maintenance and particularly the housekeeping fell far short. The table lamp was caught up in some lame attempt to consolidate wiring and nothing worked. No hot water in the bathroom sink. Shampoo dribbled out in the shower but mostly empty. Our dog kept trying to get at something under the bed which is always a bad sign, and we found a dirty and sticky cup under there. We tried to clean something off the floor and it was just filthy. Pet hair and dirt behind the bureau when we tried to untangle wires to get something to work.
Hotel was dirty, mattress was sagging, paid for 2 queen beds was given a twin and a queen. Holes in the bed skirt. Shower was dirty, heat didn't work correctly. If I was Best Western, which has a pretty good reputation I would not be associated with the SureStay in Susanville, CA. Would not stay here again.
its not a BW plus but it is usually clean and price wise normal close to shopping and right on highway and very quite and no trains. They have a breakfast and as long as you are not a vegan I'm sure the free breakfast in The Lumber jack would work for you. Just do not be surprised if the floors are not carpeted its a sure stay but really friendly front desk
The Sure Stay is a clean and friendly motel that is reasonably priced. Convenient location off the highway. Motel was quiet even being right off highway. Restaurant where breakfast was is across the parking lot and is clean and friendly with good food.
We inadvertently made a wrong turn and ended up hours from our destination, with limited phone service. The manager was so kind to let us cancel our stay at 5 PM. We were happy to be able to stay here 2 days later. Great breakfast voucher at Lumberjacks next door. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.
Being on the last leg of a two week trip, we stopped here for one night. At this point in our travels, we were reserving rooms for the next night on the day before. When we arrived, the desk clerk said they had upgraded us and it was such a nice big room for weary travlers. Clean, neat, vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant next door.
Bathroom not clean Price higher than it should be for an outdated hotel. I will never stay here again. They kinda updated it on the inside but with very poor workmanship. The area outside was not pet friendly and trash was waiting for us outside our door when we arrived.
Sure Stay is now the "cheap" Best Western. There seems to be an effort to make these hotels into something they've long past become. Cheap in every sense of the word - bad beds, bad water pressure, bad attitude employees. I'll never stay at another.
nice clean but not worth 150. The room is older and has been obviously remodled a few times but still nice friendly neighborhood cat. very nice restaraunt next door, good pizza down in front of the comfort inn.
My family said this was the best of the 3 hotels we stayed in on our trip west. We had a room with 2 queens and an extra space for a love seat. The room was updated nicely and had no carpet which made it seem very clean. Our dog enjoyed the space and explored the room. She could see and hear a few people walking by the room throughout the night since the blinds on the window let in just a bit of light, which made her bark. I was really looking forward to breakfast at the Lumberjack restaurant which was served until 10. They had 3 options for the hotel voucher and choices within each option. Well done and delicious too!
Lovely big and clean rooms. Nice to return to a fully refreshed room after a long day trip! Highly recommend. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again as we were told this was a top place to stay.
We stop here every year driving down to Death Valley and it is nice to know we can count on a clean remodeled room at the end of a long day. Coffee (Keurig) and tea in the lobby 24/7 and breakfast vouchers for the onsite restaurant in the morning
The Check In staff was very nice and friendly, the room was clean and nice with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and table with two chairs for dining. The lamps were super cute and I loved the shutters on the windows. It was a great value although we only stayed one night as we were traveling from Point A to Point B. Great Restaurant across the parking lot so no need to drive anywhere for a great meal.
This really was nice. Very clean and tidy. The privacy hedge around the pool was a great touch, as was the hot chocolate in the lobby. I didn't realize the breakfast would be different than the usual BW, but I loved the vouchers for the restaurant next door.
Had a long drive the day we stopped at hotel and encountered a very friendly front desk employee. Just what we needed. You get a voucher for a free breakfast at the Lumberjack restaurant in the same parking lot. After leaving I discover I had left a jacket in the room. Called hotel and they had found it in the room. Sean the manager sent it to me as I live in another state.
We were back in our hometown after moving 25yrs previous, attending a 50th Anniversary party. We loved our stay at SureStay and would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are what we expect at Best Western. Had everything we needed without the frills in a very clean and cozy environment. No problems with WiFi, electronics, AC/heat or appliances. Everything was great. Most impressive to us was the staff. Both in person and on the phone they were friendly, kind and helpful. Just like about everyone we met in this quaint little mountain town. We had a few special requests for a room and they accommodated us no problem. We can't comment on the breakfast as we were invited to an old friends house for that but if it matches everything else here my guess would be it great. This is a great value and we're able to use our senior discount and would recommend to anyone staying in Susanville. We have stayed at a competitor up the street for much more $$ and didn't have the great experience we had here. We WILL be back
Big plus is the Lumberjack restaurant across the parking lot. Very good food/service. A breakfast voucher is provided by the hotel. Good menu choices and good service. Strong internet service, clean, quiet room and convenient location from highway. A Walmart just a block away.
The hotel is immediately off of the 44 highway as it runs from Susanville to Reno. The staff there are very nice and it is very unique in that you are able to have a voucher to have breakfast at the restaurant which is next-door. A good place to stay and give it a try.
This was a clean, but older hotel and a tiny bit weathered. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and a good size. The parking was great and right in front of the room. The front desk staff, Leilani, was so helpful and friendly. What an asset she is. The free breakfast was offered at restaurant next door, which shares the parking lot. The food was good and Jen worked her tail off, so in spite of the free meal, we encourage everyone to tip generously. We would stay here again.
This hotel is in need of upgrading. The rooms are dated and not very clean or maintained. The price $161 plus tax is far more than I paid at Best Western hotel in Barstow, CA on 5-8-22, $107.99 plus tax. The Barstow hotel was clean and modern.
We have stayed at this location before and it was pretty bad then as well but the cost of a room at that time was only $99. This time, we booked a double queen suite-I specifically said we wanted two rooms, (like the picture shows on website), we ended up paying $189 with tax for a dirty basic double Queen with a toilet for midgets. The grounds were absolutely filthy; dog poop everywhere and garbage all over. We are loyal Best Western customers & have been staying at Best Western‘s for years; this is by far the worst one we have ever stayed at. They didn't even offer us a bottle of water for being platinum members. We really aren't difficult people or high maintenance but if I was Best Western, I would never want this hotel associated with my brand. We will never stay here again-ever! Do yourself the favor and stay somewhere else.
This hotel is dated. Rooms are clean but that is about it. You can hear every conversation in rooms above you and next to you. The toilet rocks and you can hear every flush of every toilet in the building, as well as people taking a shower. The breakfast was a joke. It consisted of a muffin and a breakfast bar. But hey they had coffee and black tea. People like to congregate outside and get high and drunk. Never again.
Do not stay here until this facility has been completely renovated. Dirty, noisy, ice machine did not work, room Oder, guest internet poor. Staff did give access to corporate internet so we could access.
A quick stop on our way to Vegas. I am surprised this is a plus property as it's not much. Walls are thin and the heater is very loud. Breakfast at restaurant next door was adequate. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and that was refreshing.
Nice remodel of an older motel. We usually stay at higher end hotels and were happy to find this place in a smaller town. Suggest requesting an upper floor because of creaky floors if you can do stairs to 2nd floor. We had quiet room in the back. Breakfast at the restaurant was much better than the usual in-house food. Real eggs!
I know it is winter and everyone is saving on power or should be. But I do expect my room to be above 50 degrees when I enter. It took several hours before the room reached 70 and we could take off our coats. it was about 32 outside. Additionally, they have those containers on the shower walls where there is supposed to be soap and shampoo. So you get into the shower, rinse off only to discover there is NO soap or shampoo anywhere. So you have the choice of getting out to find your own soap and shampoo (into a frigid room) or just go with water only. I chose the later. Now maybe this is some Covid sanitation thing but the BW in Wendover had their containers filled. I've stayed at this property before and it was over priced but pleasant. Not pleasant at all anymore. What I still can't figure out is how a double Queen room in Susanville is $187.00 while in Wendover it is $89.00. Wildly different prices and the property in Wendover has a gym and a small pool, better beds and pillows. So would never stay at the BW in Susanville again. I'd go to the Motel 6 with my dogs rather than be exploited financially, and have heat and soap.
This room was nothing like advertised. The hotel is doing renovations all through the hotel, with dumpsters and mattresses strewn through the parking lot. The pictures show a large, well-decorated renovated room. However, our room was dull, drab, and looked like something from the 80's. Also, when booking, I chose the larger of the 2-queen rooms and paid $20+ more for that option. What I received was the standard 2-queen room. When I asked the front office about all this, they said it only showed a standard 2-queen room booked. They also said they couldn't do anything about the price paid because it was booked through a third party. This room was only worth $100.
This room was filthy, I gave the girl at the front desk the dirty Lysol wipes that I used to clean the room. She was rude in her response to me giving her the wipes. Who knows if she even shared them with manager. No coffee cups in the room either. You charge a premium price for a low end motel. And you think your doing us a favor.
Being a Best Western Rewards Member this motel was over priced due to the loudness in parking lot, breakfast provided at restaurant nearby was sub standard in choices provided. Shower body container empty, previous coffee left in coffee machine. bathroom sink had no drain stop. Overall average rating,
This is a mid-level property located close to shopping and dining opportunities. Appearance could be anywhere USA. Restaurant next door was a disappointment. Staff was friendly. Lots of parking. Might choose this hotel again.
Room smelled like cat. No working TV. No manager on site. Staff told me I would receive 20% comp only ended up comping 10%. Showed staff pic of filthy jets in jacuzzi, I asked to be given managers email so I can send them to them they refused to give me the information. Paid over $400 for A horrible experience. Every time I approach staff with the problems they said they would contact management yet never responded with any solutions. Lied about the comp I received. The Jacuzzi Jets were so filthy I didn't feel comfortable using it. Over paid for trash service
We've stayed here twice a year for 4 years. It was always clean, smelled good, parking lot clean, pool open and clean. Now it is a complete dump!! Room was dirty, obviously someone's dogs had peed on the wall and corners of the bed. We travel with a 13 yr old cat, paid $20 for him, he smelled out all the dog pee.. our cat has manners, uses his box!!! All in all, your motel is filthy.. for that you charge $200!! Complete rip off!! We see what you're doing.. you have guaranteed $ from the government for all the firefighters staying there, so JACK UP THE PRICE!!! Full complete rip off!
The room was clean and neat and more modern than I would have expected given the somewhat dated architecture. It had lots of electrical outlets, and I really appreciated the wireless charger for my phone. My biggest complaint was that when we arrived for check in, there were 3 people behind the counter, and not a one of them wore a mask. This at a time when hospitals are overflowing with covid patients. I thought that was a rather reckless approach to the health of their customers. That said, the gentleman who checked us in was polite and knowledgeable.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in Susanville for a family gathering. All the rooms used by those in our party were clean and more than adequate. The bed was very comfortable and the room quite large. There were multiple sufficient outlets for phone chargers. Many of the rooms were occupied by CalFire because of the horrendous Dixie fire in the area. Many times in the summer months, firefighters are booked there so it would be advisable to book early. A complimentary breakfast is offered in the adjacent Lumberjack restaurant, limited to certain items. It was not gourmet, but certainly sufficient and a good, convenient way to start the day. Staff was very helpful and friendly. A good place to stay in Susanville.
Dirty linens, dusty and dirty room, clogged sinks, old food left in refrigerator, lamps not working, just a complete dive! I was forced to stay at this property because all other properties in Susanville were booked. I would have been better served to camp in a tent, at least it would be my own filth!
We stayed one night in a comfortable King size room. Although decor is dated, the accommodations were very good. The air conditioning was excellent and the size of the room was larger than expected. Everything worked well. It could use updated electrical equipment for phone chargers and such. The one unit on the nightstand table was for USB ports, which might work for some. The TV was nice size and they have DIRECTTV, which is a nice amenity. The room was VERY CLEAN. Kudos to housekeeping. The reception area/lobby was nice and coffee is available 24/7. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was at the restaurant next door was adequate. Overall, a fairly good experience.
We stayed that Best Western for one night and even though the hotel is older, the rooms are clean and kept up. The staff was very courteous and the breakfast which is done at the restaurant next door. The food is very tasty and the service was good.
I have realized most reviews are only written if they are negative and as a consumer that makes it difficult to have a true picture, so I've decided that I'm going to start submitting mine. I have stayed here each time I have traveled through Susanville. My first stay was in 2016 and I chose it as my husband had a service animal before he passed. I continue to stay there as now that fur-baby is my traveling companion. It's important to me to stay somewhere clean, with a good bed not one that you know has been slept on too many years and now that I'm traveling alone I need to feel safe, especially when walking the dog. I make my reservation directly with the hotel and have never had an issue checking in or out, the staff is always friendly and willing to help. I love the hardwood floors, motel carpets can be so gross. There were dispensers this trip, not quite sure how I feel about those compared to sealed bottles. Housekeeping does need to be sure they are filled and working properly. This was an issue both nights I stayed in June when coming and going to see my daughter. There's a microwave and refrigerator and small coffeemaker in your room. That's so useful if you are traveling with food. There is a wonderful family restaurant next door and if you are interested in breakfast you can receive a voucher to eat there. People may pass this by as an option since it doesn't appear fancy but if you want clean, comfortable and easy location you can't go wrong with here.
Very clean large room. Could use some updating (furniture) but nothing functionally wrong. Restaurant refused to honor my wife's breakfast voucher because she wasn't present (I dined in but asked for a grab and go breakfast for her as she was ill in our room). Dine in breakfast at restaurant was like a kids meal portion wise. There were other minor complaints like empty ice machine, no food vending machine, etc but no show stoppers. An ok stay, would return but place could be better given the price.
Pros: beds and pillows were comfortable. Rooms were large. Breakfast was very good (they send you to to the restaurant next door and you are given a limited menu to order from. Food was very good. Coffee was also good) Cons: Pool still closed due to Covid..Motel and rooms are in need of a good cleaning and refresh. We had flies in the room and ants in the bathroom. Room was dusty...hairs in the bathroom...stained carpet. It is a 2 star hotel, but I expected it to be clean and a little nicer. It's ok if you need one night in the area, but I will try somewhere else next time.
Reasonably priced rooms, very clean with great beds and good water pressure for your wake up shower. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Hotel breakfast is at the restaurant next door from a limited menu.
We have stayed at this hotel in the past and liked it. This time the floor was absolutely filthy. We told the front desk even showing them the clean white socks I'd just put on for 30 minutes, which now had black bottoms. They apologized and said they'd pass the message on.
Great hotel. Large clean quiet room. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing .. a proper breakfast in a restaurant across from the reception. Would highly recommend. Probably the best Best Western chain hotel we've stayed in.
Keep in mind this is an older budget property, so my review is not coming from the perspective of luxury. The hotel room was large and very clean. Yes, there were some minor maintenance issues, like the soap dispenser was basically falling off the wall, the in-room coffee maker could have been cleaner, so I passed it over. Otherwise, the room very clean, comfortable and very large. It really made for a nice stay and we will definitely stay here again for our next visit. There is breakfast at the Lumberjack restaurant built into the room rate. The meal is limited for hotel quests. I didn't really have any complaints. I had a pancake, eggs and toast.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Best Western SureStay Motel in Susanville, CA. I have a number of complaints including that they provide no options on their website for a meaningful review of their services. We did get a survey that asked one question regarding how likely we were to recommend the motel to friends (we wouldn't), but it didn't allow us to comment. Hence the review. So for starters, the motel itself seems a little run down and dirty outside. There seems to be maintenance and upkeep issues. There's only one working ice machine for the entire motel, there's a second but apparently it's been out of order for almost a year. Similarly with the Keurig coffee machine in the front office. It was broken, and I was told it had been like that for a couple of days, and nothing had been done. We also saw a small homeless encampment across the street causing concerns about the safety of ourselves and our vehicle. The room was marginal, the shower stall had black hairs glued to the wall. The soap dispensers at the sink and shower don't work well, and it was almost impossible to get any meaningful amount of liquid hand soap from them. We ended up using our own. We had a problem getting any lotion out of the hand lotion dispenser (possibly empty) and left a note for the maid. When we got back she had filled it with liquid soap so we had two dispensers of soap that didn't work. During our four night stay the room was only made up once, then after that given only a quick peripheral cleaning (we think) leaving the beds unmade. One of my main complaints is with their "complimentary" breakfast. It is of course not complimentary in that you pay for it in the cost of the room. Best Western gives daily vouchers for breakfast at a restaurant next door called Lumberjacks. It sounds good, but the breakfast menu for Best Western guests is not the regular menu, is extremely limited, and you are intentionally segregated from regular customers and seated in a specific location in the back of the restaurant that is not their best seating. You get the feeling you're being treated as a second class citizen. I also have an issue with the quality of the breakfast. The menu has three dine in choices and one to go choice. Given the limited menu I chose the two scrambled eggs with two sausages and a pancake combo. My wife mostly did so as well. Over the four breakfasts we each ordered the two scrambled eggs were consistently portioned out as one egg or less. I know what two scrambled eggs look like, I make them at home, and the portions were definitely one egg and often less. In three out of the four breakfasts they were overcooked to the point that the bottoms were crusty brown and had to be returned. To be honest, the eggs usually looked like scraps from over cooked egg servings that they didn't want to give to regular customers and set aside to be served to Best Western customers. The exception was when we complained and asked for the eggs to be remade which we did twice (the first breakfast I actually ate the overcooked meager portion of eggs, but complained to the waitress). Still a one egg portion, but decently cooked. The consistently meager overcooked portions conflicts with Lumberjacks' posted sign at the entrance "Lumberjacks' Law Number 6 - Serve lumberjack sized meals - We endeavor to serve you the best food and the largest sized portions for your money. Everyday, Every time, Every Lumberjacks' restaurant". Maybe if you're a lumberjack kid. It's my opinion that Best Western and Lumberjacks' are cutting corners and costs at the expense of its customers to increase their profit margin. I talked with the motel desk clerk about the breakfast quality and quantity and she said she'd pass it on to management. I haven't heard from them. My suggestion would be to give guests the choice of the preset meals or a voucher worth maybe $5 - $10 and let them choose from the regular menu, stop the segregated seating, and improve the quantity and quality of the preset quest meals. I can get a better breakfast from Jack in the Box down the street for $5. Next time we're in Susanville we'll try one of the other motels.
The property is older so the rooms, floors and walkways are a bit creaky. That said the room was clean and the bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated. It was fine for an overnight stay on our way from Las Vegas to Oregon.
Surestay (along with Surestay Plus) is new and I now know that is a value-based line of motels and I see them as lower on the tier than BW or BW plus. That is the most important thing I can share. The bed was not comfortable and I found myself awake every hour waiting till morning. I find that nothing can make up for a horrible sleep experience and I wished this one was better. They had a nice touch on offering breakfast vouchers for Lumberjack in the same lot.
We make the trip often from CO to OR. this trip, we landed on this property, and we really liked it. Lots of parking for our rental truck. We travel with our dogs, so having a pet friendly place is a must. this hotel is CLEAN, very well priced and nicely decorated. Everything works. We will stay again.
This is a motel. Blood on the shower curtain..hole in the shower wall. Curtains have been hung many times with large holes in the ceiling. Holes in wall where the bathroom light fixture is. Homeless man sleeping in the pet walking area. Drug deals in the parking lot. It was a good bed but the floor was so dirty I was afraid to walk on it without shoes. My dog would not get off the bed. I feel like I wasted hard earned points on this motel. Go to another.
I was very happy with my stay. The front desk staff was helpful. They even provided a full breakfast from the restaurant next door which was more than I expected. The room could have been a little cleaner though. I had to do a wipe down of the fingerprints on the microwave and refrigerator handles.
The floor and countertops were not as clean as I woukd expect, particularly during a pandemic. Reception was very nice, room was very quiet, but I was disappointed by the cleanliness. Woukd be hesitant to stay again.
It's one of the better places to stay in Susanville. I felt that prices were a bit steep. then you find out that a lot work crews live there......The Lumberjack Resturant has some really good food. great serving sizes.
I've been staying at this motel for 30+ years (when it was previously the Best Western Trailside Inn). It has easy access to the town, great staff, and a good restaurant next to the parking lot. Won't pick any other place in town.
No cleanliness with the corona virus no hand cleanser or saniwipes for the counter, Room took 5 hours to warm up, lighting over sink and bathroom very poor, non working soap dispensers in the shower & sink. We have stayed here for years as we traveled south for the winter but NEVER again. The desk clerk said management had changed. No breakfast & no compensation. dump!It has truly turned into a dump!
Nothing fancy here, but they have super clean rooms and extremely comfortable beds. I was very happy with everything except for the internet coverage. After I had to finish my work from the lobby they did something to improve it and the third day was fine. So I'm giving it 5 stars for this type of property it was just fine.
Great place to stay. Friendly and courteous staff! Nice clean remodeled rooms, Fridge microwave coffee machine hair dryer all the stuff you're looking for in a room Warm in the winter and I'm sure cool In the summer months.
This Best Western does not have onsite breakfast option. They contract with the restuarant next door which provides a select menu of hot breakfast items, or discount from regular menu. Nice little hotel.
