It's a very sketchy place. The property is enclosed by fencing. Only 14 rooms are for hotel. All other rooms are short/long term occupancy. Unseashed Pitt Bull. I felt unsafe with my pet. Room floor was dirty. Spilled pop had not been cleaned.
Very very nice stuff here. Good breakfast hours and decent breakfast choices. Good prices for the area and the rooms are very clean. The pool and spa were both open and both very clean. There's security on the property all night so it feels pretty safe when you're staying here
Property is outdated...needs new mattresses, paint, furnishings, etc.; how about a desk in the room for crying out loud??!! If you stay here, I recommend requesting a front-facing room. I was given one on the back side and the walkway cover prevents virtually any natural light from entering the room...I don't like dungeons! While the property owner really can't do much about this, the property isn't in a very good neighborhood either. I didn't know this before booking here and seeing the area, but it's a pretty good giveaway when the property is only accessible via a security gate just past the office.
The front desk associates were exceptionally helpful and considerate throughout my stay. Their attentiveness and willingness to assist with any request truly stood out. Additionally, the management team went above and beyond to ensure that I felt well taken care of, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding service and hospitality.
I would give this place a 0, the fact that my pillow smelled like urine and bed felt wet. I went to the office handed the pillow to front staff told them to smell it and both front desk denied the smell of urine on the pillow I asked to speak with manager and they did not want to give me no contact info. I told them I will call corporate and the Indian front desk lady said “go ahead”. Shannon the front desk lied and said she had all 4 maids smell the pillow and said they don't smell nothing . I am not one to put reviews but this was unacceptable. Both ladies said I would get a call by 11am on 7/31/24 and never received a call. Before I left I told them how would I know my message would get back to management, I was told the pillow would be in a plastic bag with my contact info. I did not believe them off the start. I wouldn't complain about something but this was unsanitary . If you are ok sleeping in piss bed catching pink eye or std then this is your place to go. Not to mention the mirror was dirty and there were no tissues in the box. Those are minor problems but the piss on my pillow tops everything . Those ladies should be fired . So much for customer service. Never ever will I go here again!!!!
Worst hotel ever. DO NOT STAY HERE. Smelly rooms, carpet smelled like urine and was dirty, no service, sketchy area. Security gate left open due to being broken. Plus they forgot to clean our room and shortage of towels. Surestay is a don't stay hotel.
Homeless/drug activity in and around the hotel all night long. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the parking lot all night long. Do not stay here. We were traveling to Oregon and stayed here because it was just off the 5 freeway and accepted pets. Will not set foot in North Sacramento ever again
Horrible place to stay. The front desk lady was horrible and rude, the maintenance was horrible, the pool is gross and green. The hot tub is broken and has yellow caution tape all over it. The rooms are super outdated and old, the 100$ deposit they say you get back well you don't. The floors in my room made my feet black!!! That's disgusting!! The hotel is horrible save your money cuz you should not have to spend your money on this place!
While this hotel was conviniently located for us, we quickly discovered it lacked in overall cleanliness. The sidewalks could use a good powerwashing and the building too. The staff while not rude, were indifferent and very transactional. What we appreciated, laminate flooring, good water pressure, clean towels, however, the bedspread was stained. They should also switch from using pilly blankets to lightweight comforters as is customary in so many hotels these days. The worst part was seeing mold on the shower ceiling. No, I would not stay here again. I think this property has promise. I wouldn't mind paying a little more to have a better experience. Please do better, you have potential.
I traveled with me and my children, and our dog, the staff is super friendly, amazing very helpful. The Housekeeping does a wonderful job cleaning the rooms and the maintenance do a great job maintaining the exterior of the property. The pool is super clean nice lounge chairs to sit in. The grass is cut and clean,
I have frequently stayed with Best Western and at this location for almost 10 years my experience here has always been very favorable and the staff are exceptional. Also a great value
I made a reservation for 2 NON-SMOKING rooms, both rooms REEKED of cigarette smoke. We brought it up to front desk, and they said they would spray to get rid of the smell, we had to leave to our event when we came back at night time, both rooms still REEKED! We were upset, especially since we traveled with kids. Even the shower curtain reeked of cigarette smoke. I do not recommend this hotel.
I arrived and was given my room, upon leaving (after resting and showering) i was told 3-5 business days for my deposit and still have not received it! I may call the higher ups about this. The room was barely used because I was called for work so my deposit should be in!!
Awesome staff nothing short of emaculant awesome rooms and the amenities top notch and the food 🤤🤤🤤
Worst Disgusting hotel ever. The graveyard shift young Indian employee with glasses was so darn rude & garbage for guest service, I had already requested w/ my reservation I needed extra towels due to us being 3. I called for towels, not in my room as requested. Your clerk made me walk all the way to the office me being opposite side in rm 309, I get there terrible service, refused to give me extra towels after I complained there were public hairs in one and other hair in another towel that were in the room. He gave me 2, & refused to give me another for my 3rd person who was a minor. She wobbled his head at me with a condescending tone & told me I had to come back in 15 min again To the office if I needed the extra pair. It was cold at low 40+ degrees for me to be out going again after a 9-10 hour trip coming from San Diego. Apart from that the room was disgusting, chair & sofa full of filth where we could sit, old car used duty rugs on our patio, bathroom with mold on the ceilings & an old pillow w/o a pillow case smelling like head sebum, hallway floors we're disgusting full of filth like no one has washed or pressure washed them before.your mattresses were so hard that it felt as foam was put over plywood like a scam. The website pictures of the hotel are nothing like it shows. A misleading hotel to book. I will never stay at a hotel that claims BW but is not an official BW hotel. Your private owned Franchised extended family of hotels do not uphold to a BestWestern standard of guidelines. I am disgusted, didn't sleep well where my eyes got heavy at 1pm after I had checked out. I got pictures to prove my point.
This hotel is surrounded by homeless. The Dennys next to it is the worse service and the check in people are incompetent. Our room ac made noise all night long. A security guard unlocked our door and just walked in on us with no explanation. The room was under stocked with necessary towels .
Loved the staff they were so helpful and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and the grounds well kept. The manager and front desk were kind and very helpful. I would recommend anyone to stay here great hotel
This place is filthy, thrashed, unkempt, nasty. I would have left after check in and discovering the condition of the room, but couldn't because of an obligation to be there for 4 nights. You are not told ANY information at check in, such as your room won't be serviced or refreshed period. To get a clean towel took an act of God. No pride in the employees and bare minimum done in rooms. Filthy surfaces. Literally. I used the stained wash cloth to wipe down door handles, shelves bathroom door, sink area. Microwave was nasty, layers of thick dust in vents of the bathroom. Not one employee ever thought to reach up and dust it,?? Cobwebs, dirty floor. No carpet which I didn't mind but floor surfaces turned my feet almost black. Not enough towels and the few that were there were dirty, with an obvious foot prints on one. Went to grab the floor mat towel for the shower/tub, and the "fancy" soap and shower cap were tucked into this towel. That again, was dirty!! No plug for the tub, shower head has never been cleaned. Shower curtains from the dollar store stained and damp upon arrival. No information on the wi-, fi at check in, only told breakfast was served 7 to 9. This breakfast was the poorest excuse of any buffet I have ever seen. Cold food, only fruit was apples, yogurt never restocked. Tables dirty every single morning while the attendant walked around like a zombie and no matter what anyone would ask her for, or point out needs, the response was ",I don't speak English". Seriously???? You don't know how to acknowledge someone that says God morning, or excuse me. Or can we get bread for the toaster? unacceptable BS. Cups to pour juice into had specks of dirt in a few of them we went through. Milk for mixed cereal was bad and the container had not been cleaned or switched out for at least 4 days. Garbage cans over flowing while employees shuffled around at a snails pace. Never saw house keeping, front desk staff stuck up and cold. Asking a question was met with a one word answer, never got password for wifi, no eye contact. Room was tattered, Rips in the leather headboards, broken and stained lamp shades, mop boards ripped and never repaired. Window blind was 4 inches too short so the room could be seen from outside. We had to lay the ironing board (,broken) on its side on top of the heater to cover the gap in the poorly hung blinds. Ice machine bin full of debris. Cigarette butts, and dirt. Greasy??? Why??? Every morning the outside garbage cans has trash strewn around because they were overflowing. Why??? Pool was disgraceful and once again, FILTHY! Why aren't the grounds maintained??? Shoddy "amenities"...bar soap old and discolored. I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. So gross. To be fair though, the bed was really comfortable and the sheets were clean. No bedspread, only a top sheet over one thin blanket TV is from 20 years ago and poor reception and picture. The nasty remote never been sanitized and had the batteries taped over with black electric tape. Why??? Door had drip marks in random places, locks had been changed out off and on but not painted over where the previous locks had been. Why not??? Lazy, no one cared that ever worked there?? Just a gross dirty place. Not worthy of the Best Western Plus brand. Dirty windows, broken and bent window screens... Trash can in the room had bark. And old damp leaves in the bottom. Why?? No, it's not life or death, but, this hotel is sad!!!! Embarrassing. So many better choices in the area for the price point. Yuck. Don't bother responding with your insincere canned phrases ending with "we look forward to seeing you again." PAY ATTENTION to the reviews that are all saying the same things. Do something about it!
Very Clean, internet good, security, nice, bed comfortable. Nice location. the room is nothing special, but what it does have is cleanliness. the room felt secure and I felt fine walking out into the parking lot at night. The hotel has an electric gate that you use a code to enter the parking lot. The gate is directly in front of check in. So staff can see who is coming and going. If you want a cheap price hotel but clean and safe. This is it.
I would recommend others to stay there. I'm sure they would enjoy....especially there breakfast. It's been a wonderful stay and I will continue staying there wherever I travel to as wellthe manager there is awesome very understanding and helpful also. The office staff is also wonderful. They do there best to help with your need as well.
As a friend and I journeyed to the state capital. This Surestay plus lived up to the expectations and standard it has set for itself. The customer service was excellent. They know how to say yes sir i
The entire staff are very professional and treat you like family I would recommend to anyone to stay at this establishment and you will enjoy not only your stay but you also be provided with extraordinary customer service and the best breakfast in town.
The staff really helped us a lot with our transport and helping us with our luggage and overnight this was the best place to go to a nice gated property and the security guard made us feel safe. We will definately return.
This hotel goes above and beyond my expectations for real. The management is exceptionally. Maids are exceptionally great sMe with maintenance. Safe gate enclosure, quite, beautiful garden area. Rooms are spacious and filled with coffeemakers full bottles of supplies free breakfast.
Comforted stay in the lap of nature. I love nature as the hotel was on the banks of river so I opted it. I think i made no mistake. it was really a good experience at Surestay. The food was really delicious. I will surely recommend, specially a person with family to stay here.
The walls were so thin, we could hear every guest who arrived in the night. Our blackout curtains wouldn't stay closed, so we couldn't keep out the light. Then, at 3 am the guest above us started blaring their music. We called using the room phone to report the noise, and the staff let the phone ring and ring. When we switched to our cell phone, they answered immediately and said they'd send security to investigate. The problem was never resolved.
Feet were black from dirty floor after showering and getting dressed. Remote batteries were dead. Hand soap and conditioner dispenser both empty. The sheets were used/dirty; had mascara on them, toe nail clippings and dirt debris in the made bed whem we folded down for bed time. The room smelled dank and like a smoker room. Staff was rude at check in. A plus was the gated parking lot for extra security and pet friendly.
i would not stay here again and would advise anyone to look elsewhere. I felt as though this facility was being used as housing not as a hotel, large homeless population in area. did not feel safe at this facility.
Horrible customer service. We were unable to make our reservation due to a medical issue our two year was having as a result of the wildfire smoke. Called and explained the situation and they said they would pass us on to the manager. Manager was horrible and refused to return our calls. We ended up being charged for room we did not stay in. No accommodations made whatsoever for us. Will never book with them again.
This is the worst hotel I have stayed in . Best Western it's not . The homeless are all over the parking lot & guest's smoking dope right out in the open . The room I had smelled bad with only 2 towels I did not feel safe for myself or my car . I booked for 5 days but left 16 hours after I got there . Beware of your your $ 100 deposit make sure that they check your room before you leave & make sure it goes back into your account .
The rooms smelled of Ashtrays and dirty mops! With being so exhausted I was just going to suffer with the bugs and gnats in room number two. As soon as I got settled into the canoe the had for a be, I happen to look up just in time to see the biggest RAT I have ever seen run behind the television! I had to get up and walk on my swollen, painful feet and legs re-pack my car and hope the rat didn't get me while I was trying to get my things out of there and go back to the front desk for the third time! It was already 9 o'clock and I was in too much pain, and too exhausted to look for another hotel!
Shannon is awesome, smooth check-in, she was courteous, professional, and friendly. The room was quiet and well appointed. They offer a full breakfast, including eggs, waffles, and biscuits and gravy.
I made the mistake of booking a reservation at this property. It is a fenced in location with a security guard and many homeless congregating in and near this hotel. I found out later that this property accepts hotel vouchers from the homeless. The staff member warned me upon arrival that the hotel room would smell of smoke, well it did and it was excessive. I did not feel safe and would NOT recommend this location to anyone, seniors, families or my friends. I was there on business, and could not sleep at all due to fear of someone breaking into my vehicle. Sadly, the criminal element is all around this location. The front desk assured me it was safe and within close proximity to a police station. It did nothing to allay my fears.
Room was clean and comfortable, parking access was easy and available, I believe it was fairly priced for our visit. The front desk woman Shannon was very kind and helpful! I'd like to add that we stayed in room 206 and the deadbolt lock for the door did not seem to fully lock from the inside. It wasn't a problem for us but it might be worth a repair and maintenance call to take a look.
We had the worst experience we have ever had. This was a disgusting hotel in a horrible location. We will never stay in another best western because of this experience. I will not ever recommend this place to anyone.
Shannon at the front desk was awesome!!! We had some last minute changes that made it difficult on her, but I can't thank her enough for how patient she was. Also gave us some great recommendations while we were in town!!! Thank you Shannon!!! This hotel is underrated and clearly under new management!!!
Shout out to Shannon the representative that checked me in on the day of my stay. She was very friendly and welcoming as well as fast and efficient. She went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met and my stay was comfortable and pleasant. 100% satisfied guest and will be returning to hotel when needed in the future. Will definitely recommend to family and friends for sure. Thank you Shannon. Job well done!
Shannon was a delight. When I walked in, she was handling a difficult customer and i didn't have to wait very long for her to politely finish with them and then to me with no hint of displeasure she was helpful and patient while i asked questions about the area and the rooms.
This place is now my go-to spot! The energy here is amazing, perfect for friends and family. Kumar and the front desk team was very helpful, offering exceptional assistance. Affordable rooms exceed expectations, maintaining comfort and cleanliness. The prime location is a bonus, with nearby attractions and entertainment options.
Shannon at the front desk was extremely helpful getting me checked in when I was having technical difficulties. She was polite and patient and made sure the room was ready and I had what I needed. Thank you!
I stayed with my children, it looked like their roof was leaking in the past and they fixed it but painted over it. NOPE the dark spots under the paint was painted over MOLD that had sitting water in it and ended up leaking on my child's face! (Wich made her extremely sick) they knew about the leaking roof, specifically told me when I went to the office to let them know about it. And intentionally put my children and I in there! I'm glad the roof didn't fall in like it did in the office. They didn't do anything about it either. They use walk paint for the tub so it peels off. The security guy at night is a creep and couldn't get out of my car without protection. The 2 girls working nights were extremely rude as well. I've already called my lawyer, and I'm going to call code enforcement as well as health department. I gave them a few days to start fixing their issue and they didn't. I would not stay here if you care about your health/saftey! BE AWARE!!!!!
I was charged my $100 deposit with the hotel saying that I smoked in the room. I am a NON-SMOKER!!! Have been my whole life. I tried calling multiple times to talk to a manager to no avail. The front desk clerk keeps telling me they are not in or busy and cant talk. I was told they did an investigation into this and the maid told them they smelt smoke. This cannot be as I did not have any visitors and as stated before, I am a NON-SMOKER.
Nice budget motel with lots of amenities. My wife and I are fans of Best Western and related properties. Good breakfast, pool, spa, nice room. Big TV, ice. We don't require luxury. Staff gave us extra blankets. Near Freeway, gas, and restaurants.
I did not really intend on getting stuck in this location. I really had to make the best of the situation and this hotel helped in making that happen for me. I had arrived just about a half hour or so early before my check-in. It was super convenient reserving this room online as well. Less of a hassle when arriving to the front desk. They already have my information and we're ready for me when I arrived.
I don't recommend this location. Service wasn't good and poor communication. Definitely didn't feel welcome. The room was on the backside of the building and we felt uncomfortable because it was unsafe. The door didn't shut all the way and I barely got the deadbolt shut. There was pedestrian traffic all around the hotel all night and our dog couldn't settle down because it was loud. I was on edge throughout the whole stay. The Denny's restaurant was in the parking lot but the have a fence around the hotel lot so in order to go get dinner during our stay, we had to walk out the front gate and around the lot. The fence also complicates trailer parking for those hauling U-Haul's or like us that had a 14 foot enclosed trailer. Homeless everywhere which is common but could be better managed. I felt it was dangerous to walk out of our room at night. Especially being behind the hotel.
Under new Management since my previous stay in 2020 same employees since new management has hired they work hard keeping us all safe and rooms open would pick this place again and again to new Beginnings each time hopefully this review finds you well You will have unreasonable noises from neighbors overall keep to ur self and enjoy life abundantly let the kids have fun walking the stairs or to restaurants or just take a walk
Doors don't lock properly, hair in bathtub, stained blankets, no ice machines, no room furniture, would have never checked in but receptionest would refund prepayment, surrounded by homeless, no hot water in sink.
Great customer service, no problems with internet, room look clean, good breakfast scramble eggs and season potatoes with sausage patty, two dogs felt safe no barking, slept good myself and fiancé. Came to a concert decide to take uber.
Gerald was AMAZING! Thanks so much for your excellent service. The hotel was clean...good location...and offered excellent amenities. I would highly reccomend this property!Gerland went out of his way to help our family. We appreciate you and will book again,
A very tired building with poor upkeep. Staff response to a complaint was none existent they never showed up after agreeing to come Only bright spot was the morning breakfast was good and the server was attentive
It took three times to finally get situated in a room. The first room was being worked on due to the sink being clogged. The second room smelled horrible. Finally got to the third room. It had flies flying around, the tub was not cleaned it had hair all over as well as hair on the floor. The tv would not work. However we slept ok.
The property has iron fence around property that provides the feeling of being locked up. Arrived at 5pm and rooms were not ready. Got locked in lobby at 4am. No restrooms in lobby. Really, must be 200 characters to submit.
Frequent traveler, this was the ONLY time I've ever been called at 1030PM to ask how I like my room! Super sketchy neighborhood, smokey, smelly, filthy rooms, people smoking pot and doing drugs in the stairwell. No instruction on how to get through the entrance and exit security gates. Everything about this stay was nerve racking and terrible!
A basic former business traveler/airline crew motel adjacent to I-5. Very few eateries or stores close by (MacDonald's, Denny's) but some a few miles drive North. Area has a lot of homeless so be aware that even the short entry road has their signature. There is secured fenced parking onsite, and a big Police station not far away. Room floors refurbished, bathrooms so-so but overall OK. Breakfast is standard and good overall. The old-school pool is a nice breakaway area, but not well maintained and the pool unheated. The noise from the freeway is constant, with some quieter areas. Heavy noisy construction next property over started Before 6 a.m. Saturday. Better days ahead! Other hotels refurbishing too. The service is good, rooms clean. "Lobby" is basic- with a non-working computer and dining sets.
Rooms had cockroaches, hidden until one ran out from out coffee pot. Our child had just finished tea we made using said coffee pot. Room was disgusting, dirt hair and random tint trash on the floor and in corners. Bathroom had cracked tile and water got everywhere. Fire alarm went off a few times randomly from steam from bathroom. Whole room was damp constantly. Absolutely disgusting we cut our stay short.
DO NOT STAY HERE! First off the photos on the website are extremely deceiving, not even of the same hotel. They are renovating and it is terrible. The 1st room we had has hair on the floors, footprints on the doors because they have to be slammed to shut, food on the fridge and smelt like sewage. They moved us to an "upgraded room, a pool view. The room was larger but still had lots of cosmetic issues. The showerhead sprayed all over the bathroom, the shower handle was broken on the wall, they had bed bug covers on the bed that had blood stains. When we woke up there were roaches on the walls. Their customer service is terrible with the exception of David. Will never stay here again.
Our stay was wonderful. Employees are very nice and accommodating. One employee Jeff head of maintained goes beyond excellent customer service by his willingness to help with anything...if we needed something...."Jeff was right on it...within a few minutes everything was taken care of." He always had a smile and kind words not just towards us but for everyone around him. I mention all the employees with much respect for for their smiles, always speak and their concern for guests comfort. A special Thank You to all employees for a wonderful stay!
Our door to our room could have been easily pushed in, the cable tv went off and on all night. They had rolls of carpet blocking the halls. If I had not been with my husband I'd have left. Unsafe feel
So the overall experience wasn't horrible. But the room, and all the construction (I know they can't control) didn't make it a great one. The single queen room I was put in, didn't have a queen bed, mold all over the roof of the bathroom, you had to use two different remotes for the tv (I fixed that). The lobby was being redone, and they had black mold all over the wall in it and just covered over it with drywall mud. They do have a small sign that say they have a breakfast but I didn't attempt to get to it.
They must of hired a fabulous photographer, because this location does not look like the pictures. In a 30 minute time-frame I went to, two rooms and then decided to checked out. Both rooms were very dirty. The first room smelled like urine the second room was even worse. They tried covering up the smell by washing down the vinyl floor with straight Pine Sol. Bathroom door broken, sheets on the bed were dirty. The whole facility needs to be pressured washed. Safety is my main concern when I travel. Upon arrival the area has alot of homeless people and the area is very dirty, the Chevron gas station across the street even keeps there front doors closed and locked so people can not go into the store front. Obviously because the area is not so good, they have security posted in the main office and in the parking lot. PD did two passing through the parking lot. This is a zero star rated hotel, I have stayed at other Best Western affiliated locations and this is the worst location. The only saving grace was the two girls at the front desk, very nice and polite and understanding when I checked out.
Its not a bad place the bed is comfy but the area is really dirty walking to the room it looked like someone needed to pressure wash it badly. The room smelled like mold or a musky cigarette but didnt appear visibly dirty.
I don't even know where to begin. I had to come to Sacramento for jury duty in US district court. I wanted something close to the courthouse because of my unfamiliarity with the area with the area around the courthouse. Because I had to wait until after 5 o'clock to see if I had to report Tuesday morning, I had to book whatever I could find. Unfortunately this property was it that was in close proximity to the courthouse. This place doesn't doesn't even come close to meeting Best Western standards. The walls were dirty, the flooring laminate was broken, There was hair in the bathtub/shower. I didn't even want to touch the light switches or the remote control to the TV. The area around the hotel is so overrun with transients, you don't feel safe. They did have a security guard on site. Don't let the pictures on the website fool you it looks nothing like their pictures. I agree with one of the previous posts that it looks like some people some people are actually using it as a residence and not a hotel. Best Western standards have been slowly slowly fading away. I used to be a platinum member with Best Western, but have switched to Marriott/Bonvoy due to the decline. Only stayed here because it was the only option that fit my need.
The afternoon on 7/7/22 I came back to my room (Room #105) to discover a HOMELESS man in my bed. Yes, this actually happened. This was absolutely shocking. I couldn't believe my eyes. He had also pissed the floor and the entire room reeked of him. I stood at the door completely in shock and asked him how he got in, to which he replied he had a key, but refused to show me. I told him to get out. He was reluctant and very slow to move, so I went to the front desk to let them know. Singh, the hotel manager, Maya, the housekeeping manager, and Calvin (maintenance worker?) all came out to see the man. It turned out Calvin let the man in because the man told him it was his room and lost his key. He was just lying outside. I was furious. You don't just let any random stranger into any room without first VERIFYING whether or not this person is a registered guest of the hotel!!! This completely compromised my safety and peace of mind. Unbelievable. Singh had me move rooms and transferred me to Room 239 whose phone line was disconnected, and security latch was broken. I demanded another room as I felt unsafe, especially after what just happened. They then moved me to Room 148, which was dirty -- the bathtub itself had black hair balls. Absolutely disgusting. I was on business and had just 30 minutes before meeting my clients for a dinner meeting -- packing up my things in a hurry and being moved around all over the property was an absolute WASTE of my time and energy. It was also 90+ degrees plus that day and I was sweating bullets. Upon seeing how dirty Room 148 was, I returned to the front desk and checked out. I told the front desk the room was filthy, and this was unacceptable. I demanded with Singh a refund as that was the VERY LEAST Singh could do, and all he said was, "I don't know. I'll look into it." This was unacceptable. I will NEVER return to this property again. Stay at your own risk. The hotel manager does not care about this property nor the safety of his guests. I could have taken this to the police. I will dispute the hotel charge with my credit card company.
The room was quite and clean. The pool area was clean and our boys were able to swim. The staff continue to clean the outside of the building. The amenities were in good working condition. The area was low end, however construction is taken place in the area. The hotel accepts pets and the area was clear of pet accidents. We did not receive maid service, nor did we request it. The breakfast good and our room was smoke free.
I rated it very good because the service was above average on most counts. I especially liked that this hotel advertised complimentary breakfast as a feature and it was good. Aisha was the weekday attendant and she made sure that the guests felt very welcomed. She had a bright smile and was attentive to keep the eating space clean and the food fresh and hot. This will be my go to hotel for short stays when needed.
Breakfast was AMAZING! ALSHA IS AMAZING!!!! The atmosphere and staff were awesome! Good sized rooms loved the set up/layout of the place and I loved that the ducks call that place home so sweet! GREAT PLACE
Without a doubt, once of the worst hotel experiences I have had. The hotel is in a seedy part of town and is seedy itself. I did not feel particularly safe. In hindsight, I should have headed elsewhere as soon as I saw the property even though the reservation was not cancellable. Some of the guests seemed to be permanent occupants. Never again.
nice Trees around good Security local food stores Greyhound. Amtrak. River. freeway people. Squirles diverse ethnicities Nice Police Officers gas stations. scenery superNatural Fun pool Parking The Sky
So I'm really big on giving reviews I did not have a particular account for Trip advisor but this lady her name is Aisha was so amazing I had to come make an account just to leave a review so everybody could know how awesome she was she had great customer service she made a wonderful breakfast she was real polite and she was just all around a joyful person to be around I would recommend staying at this hotel anytime just on her service alone.
All the desk clerks get a four star rating. The motel is not for the faint of heart. People from the streets on fentanyl and other drugs hanging outside of rooms, in the parking lot hanging out in their cars on the phone. The outside floors and stairs were past disgusting as were the walls and very trashy, cigarette butts, food containers, etc... for the four days I stayed. The back rooms are down a claustrophobic, dark and dirty enclosure. I checked out one of the rooms to stay in, the smell was putrid. Management says they are new and are cleaning the place up... good luck! The owner needs to invest money into the management, infrastructure and staff to bring this place up to snuff. They upgraded my room from one bed to two bed with some daylight for the stay and I appreciated that. Otherwise, I would have left which they also gave as an option.
First, let's start with the positive: Manager, Jeanette, was friendly, accommodating and professional. The beds were comfortable, the air worked well and the carpet was newer. Negatives: Room looked overall old, bathroom particularly. The bathtub and tile and door need to be replaced. Microwave light would not shut off. They ‘ran out' of Best Western Rewards gift bag. Overall very disappointed. Would not recommend staying here.
Let me start off by saying the front desk employees were excellent in trying to make us comfortable and remedy our issues. The breakfast staff is very polite well trained and good at their jobs. My adult daughter and I stayed here for 5 days and requested housekeeping repeatedly for for 3 days and received nothing. My daughter had an issue with the toilet not flushing 2 days so the front desk changed her room for her and in the middle of the night was awakened by someone entering the room wanting to know why she was in the room. The next morning we went about our business for the day and when we returned all of her belongings were in a black garbage bag as if being evicted and she felt violated in a way. We visited in late June and the pool wasn't open. Most people in Ohio open their pools around the end of May. We were hoping to have a memorable first visit to California but surely not memories like this.
Absolutely one of the worst experiences I have ever had staying at a hotel. It's not safe, appeared to have gang members and prostitutes along with drug deals in the parking lot. I was with a group, we were going to leave but couldn't find another place. The bathroom was disgusting, the room was dated and dirty.
Homeless were around the gate when I arrived to check in, the room smelt like mold, the hard wood floors in the room were not cleaned and made my feet dirty walking on them, water pressure was weak, overall worst place i've stayed at
The first room they assigned to us was a smoking room. We don't smoke. The second room they assigned us to add a dirty bathtub with somebody else's soap in a soap container. Also, the television would not turn on. The third room that they assigned us was in disrepair and the carpeting was sticky. You couldn't walk on it with bare feet. They were also holes in the wall at odd places. Outside there was a vehicle playing loud mariachi music. There was tight security when we were there. One of the guests speculated that it was because there were hookers working out of this hotel. I didn't witness any hookers but we were only there for one night. We have traveled all around the world and I've never stayed in a worse place. I'm surprised the Best Western has its name on the entryway. The place should probably be torn down.
Room was full of bugs. People doing drugs in the parking lot. Woke up to find someone had completely scratched tags of my car. Over priced and DEFINITELY NOT worth it. I'm still waiting to be contacted by management.
Ladies in front were very nice the rest not so good we had to bring febreese and a broom and dust pan that's how dirty it was so not recommend would never ever stay here again the pool was ok it Had leaves in the pool but overall I would not recommend plus the lights didn't work after we cleaned it finally look ok
This is by far the most disgusting place I've ever stayed in Sacramento California!!! The floors and carpet were stained with dirt, blood, food. The fixtures had food on them and were splattered with peanut butter and other food . The appliances for example the coffee maker had dust and dirt in the inside of it. The shower head pieces of ceramic missing from the tub and the fixtures had rust and mold. The walls in the bathroom had food and mold on them. The sheets on the beds had no cover sheet and the white linen had stains with ink and food on them. The walls on the ceiling had water spots and cracked paint all over the top. The outside had people smoking cannabis and cigarettes and it looked as if they were homeless. There is no security and the stairs leading up to the hotel rooms were full of dirt and garbage. This is not where you want to stay!
Television not working. The television in our friends room was not working also. Pool and hot tub not working and dirty. Rooms need work. Chair had cigarette burn holes in it. Property grounds has garbage around. 2am there was a man screaming and pounding on a room door for twenty minutes while threatening his partner to open it. Management has cameras on the property and should have called the police. Upsetting experience with my child in the room with me.
HORRIBLE EXPEREICE. NOT HANDICAPP ACCESSIBLE, no elevator or escalator. Trash was present on the ground and in the long, scary hallway to our room, HOMELESS AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE ADDICTS PRESENT. The carpet was nasty with a strong odor and MOLD present between the GROUT. INTERNET did not work for us. When we notified the receptionist, she was unable to assist. The only pleasant about this experience was the receptionist attitude. I will never stay at his place again nor would I recommend it to anyone.
If you love cockroaches this is a place for you, beside the poor maintenance… it was a nice customer service though, the receptionist help us with our questions , I like that this place has a fence to keep your vehicle safe.
Decide to stay here on a road trip back from Oregon with my family. Pulled into parking lot to see someone smoking crack. Prostitute on street corner waiting for customers. Security guard uncaring and on his phone. Hotel room windows broken. Did not feel safe and could not put my family in that position.
Not located in the best part of town. Lots of homeless people roaming the Hotel grounds. although they did have what seemed like 24-hour security guards monitoring the property. Beds were very comfortable. But I did notice what I think to be mold on the Bathroom ceiling.
Surprisingly good for the price - bed was comfy, good wifi, everything worked, walking distance (partly along the river) to te historic waterfront area. Breakfast was described as continental but actually included eggs, potato & sausage.
Mattresses are terrible, did not have my requested room. Broken TV remote never fixed after calling the office. Roaches in bathroom. Disgusting. I would never recommend or stay at this hotel. Worst one ever!!!
Carpet was filthy and pills were dropped by previous guests and still on the floor. The area is filled with sketchy people and car alarms went off all night even though a security guard was on duty (in his car) all night. The room we had was broken into at some point prior to our stay as evidenced by the screws drilled into the doorman to replace the security lock.
Not a good area of Sacramento. Filthy hotel grounds needing the outside staircases and hallways to be power washed. The hotel is surrounded by security fencing. Long-term guests are loud and leave litter on the stairs and in the halls. We do NOT recommend this hotel.
We booked for 3 night (11/24/2021 - 11/27/2021). Our room keys never worked - had to get the front desk to send maintenance EVERY TIME to get us in our room. TV stopped working daily - maintenence had to do a Master Reset - I've included a copy of the Maintenence ResponsesNeed Log. Room was very dirty. I could of overlooked all that as it was a bed to sleep in but what happens next is inexcusable. The last night we returned to the hotel (obviously couldn't get into our room so we made our way to the Front Desk) - sign on the door said will return in 10 minutes (see pic). While waiting for Hotel Staff to arrive my wife was assaulted by a homeless gentleman - police report filed. Fast forward 43 minutes the Staff Member final pulls up in his car with no explanation. In talking with the two other families experiencing the same issue - one said, "they were outside waiting for 25 minutes prior to us arriving" Homeless problem along with a drug problem. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY
The carpet was covered in stained and got our socks very brown. The hand towels were not washed properly or they were not replaced with fresh one for new residency. They had yellow stains and reeked of male body fluids. The "brown" bed skirts had "white stains" on every side. It was very discussing. The "non smoking room" reeked of cigarettes and had a burn stain on the dresser. The young male staff at the front desk has "0" customer service skills. The key cards do not work properly. Every night for 6 night I'd go upstairs to the room carrying things, just to have to go down, walk to the office, then back up the stairs to the room. My overall stay was very disappointing. They don't offer refunds and I paid upfront for 6 nights.
We arrived at the hotel and when we pulled back the sheets there were SEVERAL urine stains! Burn marks and there was feces on the wall. Do not stay here! It is not worth it when there are dozens more hotels around. The person working was in his car and not in the office and did not care that it was 2:30 in the morning and the room was disgusting. No one went and checked the room or anything. Random people sitting in there Cars smoking weed. They try to post remodeld pictures but it's a glorified slum motel. The heater also did not work and its 40 degrees out. We now will have to drive 2 hours back home on new year's day. I will be reaching out to the health department as well as surestay corporate
I feel very bad being scared of people, but I couldn't help but be afraid of the people roaming the property and surrounding the property. We traveled with our baby and toddler—huge mistake. The room was filthy. Our toddler's feet were very dirty after walking on the carpet after her bath. The corridors looked like a horror film. As my husband packed up the car at 7am in the parking lot, a car pulled up to him, rolled down the back window, and asked for his hotel key. Also, we booked a garden view/balcony room and received a room with one window that faced a wall. So, it was a “wall-view” room, I suppose. Lastly, the wifi didn't work. I do not recommend this motel.
We were told security watches cars and police patrol often yet a car we were transporting had the rear window smashed in. Plus our room smelled horrible and the coffee machine didn't work. The beighborhood was not good.
Room itself was basic but OK. Everything else was a disaster. Wifi not working. Hole in wall by shower fixture. No late checkout. Big fight outside near my room. Uninterested and unsympathetic front desk staff.
5 star to 1 star worst motel hotel I've ever stayed. Slept with clothes on just in case. Filthy property inhabited by drug dealers and prostitutes. No sleep here. Tried because associated with Best Western who should be embarrassed. Never again Best Western. Maybe a name change is in order!
The good…Hotel is easy access off I5 freeway in area that is close to some restaurants etc. Sheets seemed fresh, water hot, fridge & microwave clean and working. Bathroom clean. Lots of hot coffee available in breakfast area. Deadbolt and door and window locks in working order. I double checked. The bad…Room funky at best needing basic paint and maintenance. TV had one channel. Coffee maker was nasty so didn't use. Lots of sketchy people milling around and I did not feel comfortable out and about and would not have stayed without my large dog. More people inside without masks than with them. This included employees. The ugly…most of the grounds are filthy. Spilled food, trash, and dog poop everywhere. Stacks of empty boxes left on walkways. My room was at the very far end of the motel down a filthy corridor. Along the back was a dark wooded area that I'm pretty sure someone or something was occupying at night. My dog told me.
There very careing to there customers and they do there job and plus there rooms or very clean I would recommend a friend friends to go there. And they're very professional. Hi Meisha she's one of the caring workers at the SureStay Hotel on 350 Bercut Dr. Sacramento Ca 95811,
We had 2 rooms. The 1st room had poop thrown on the ceiling and in the tolets and the beds weren't made. The 2nd room had hand prints on the ceiling that looked like smeared poop. The phone was broken and the internet would not connect to any of our devices. After confirming on 3 separate occasions that they would NOT, the hotel charged me $1400, causing me to incur hundreds of dolllars of overdraft fees. I needed a letter on their letterhead from the hotel stating they should not have charged me for my bank to drop the overdraft fees and the hotel, best western AND corporate all told me they do don't have letterhead. After admitting they in fact should not have charged my card each person, including the manager, had the "not my problem" attitude. I'm so disgusted by the treatment of every member of staff at this hotel.
The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner/heater worked, and there was hot water. For those reasons, I give 2 stars. But, truly, we hated this place. The room was dirty. There was snot, toothpaste, and other stuff on the wall. The room coffee machine was filled with nasty crud. There were rats outside our room. The room smelled bad. The hot tub was broken; no heat. It is nice that they offer breakfast but their coffee and juice machines were broken. And, despite their sign on the front desk saying breakfast ran until 9:30 on weekdays, they ended it early. We arrived at 8:55 to no food and were told it ended at 9:00. (Again, their sign only 20 feet away said it was through 9:30.)
This property is a motel, not a hotel and is located in the middle of a series of homeless camps. The staff is ok, but we did not feel safe here and left before we even unpacked the car. I can't say enough - DO NOT STAY HERE!
Paid much less for so called lower quality brands. Way too over priced for condition of units. Hands down this place was a pigsty. Homeless living outside front gate made neighborhood feel unsafe. While there is a Denny's next door, we had to walk through a homeless camp to get there. The drug deal occurring in the next door parking lot was unsettling to say the least.
We had stayed here a few years ago and knew it was in a questionable part of town, but they had gates and rooms were ok on the previous stay (and least expensive of BWs in the area). This time, it was terrible. Sacramento had a mask policy and the BW signage said masks required. No staff were wearing masks at check in. When we got our room, it smell like smoke and was on the freeway side of the building. It was close to the free way. There was a barbed wire fencing but a homeless shelter was set up just on the other side of the fence. The walkway had trash and there were cigarette butts on the walkway. The room was ok, but a bit run down. The overall property looked run down. There are a couple of other BWs near by, worth it to spend more and stay at one of those. BW needs to review its permissions and practices with this site, maybe even pull the BW name from the hotel. It is not up to the chains basic quality standards.
Property is in an area with a lot of homeless people, they needed a locked security gate to keep them out. Wi-Fi never worked properly. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. If you need a refrigerator make sure the freezer works. The breakfast was excellent! Great selection of items well prepared.
On the surface the room looked decent. I encountered very small traces of hair left over on the the sheets, moldy smelling towels which I did not use because of the dirty condition of the tub, and I saw a baby roach crawling on my shoe. This location would be considered a last resort decision. Maybe if I reported these things to the staff something might have been done, but I kept it to myself and jetted out as soon as the clock hit 6am
Extremely rude, cocky, dirty, indignant, inexperienced, expectant, shady, shifty and everything in between. Communication is at a zero, absolutely unintelligible and inarticulate. Punks...this place is currently being run by insecure pencil-neck punks! Labor commission for mistreated employees. These people are straight racist.
We booked the room, intending to visit or grandkids. Staff were friendly enough to let us check in early. So we dropped our bags and went visiting. The next morning, I went to take a shower, and the tub had a large, rusty hole in it. I didn't want to take a shower in it, because I couldn't tell how extensive the rusting could be. I expect a certain level when I see “Best Western” in the name. This does not meet that expectation. And even though they have a security gate, it seemed like it wasn't working, either. This is in a rough area, and I didn't feel safe walking around with my dog. They did let us cancel the rest of my stay.
Myself, my mother and my two toddlers stayed at this hotel for one night and it was the worst experience we have had. My advice to all is to not stay at this hotel. A rock was thrown through the lobby window almost hitting my 3 year old during breakfast and not one staff member asked if we were okay even though the rock landed within about 6 feet of us. The room was filthy with stains and there were a ton of homeless people outside.
Hotel is aging, in disrepair and poorly maintained. Room was reasonably comfortable, but there was damage to the ceiling that was poorly patched, door did not seal tightly, toilet seat was falling off, sheets on the bed had some stain on them. Exterior areas, stairs, walkways were filthy. They should invest in a good pressure washer.
Property is filthy with people going in and out all night near rear of property. OBVIOUS drug dealing. Were allotted one type of each towel per person and had to give used towels over before getting clean ones in .
This hotel was absolutely awful. We were planning to stay here as a half way point for moving. The room stunk of cigarette smoke and the hotel felt very unsafe. Many homeless and questionable people. We felt very unsafe and like our moving truck was going to be stolen at any minute. There was a lot of loud noise and I would never ever recommend someone stay here. Ended up having to book another hotel 8 minutes away for an extra 75 dollars. My partner went to drop off the keys and tell them we were leaving the front desk clerk did not seem surprised at all so it sounds like this kind of thing happens all the time. Very disappointing as this place was extremely misrepresented and falsely advertised in the pictures on Booking.com.
This hotel is an embarrassment to the Best Western brand and it's the second SureStay property I have stayed at which I have felt this way. We asked to be switched from our first room because the manual door lock was broken and hanging off the wall. An attempt had been to fix it but the repair was done poorly and would not have stopped any intruders from coming into our room. The room we were switched to was also filthy, specifically in the window area. There are lots of “permanent residents” at this property but they all have rooms in rooms facing the parking lot. Both of the rooms we were placed in were in the back of the hotel, which was dodgy and creepy. I would not stay here again and I would not recommend this place for future travelers. The one bright spot was the friendly and helpful staff.
We were in town to visit our children in College. We thought we would stay in closer to sacramento to do more things in the city. When we arrived at the hotel I noted all the trashed motor home that are neat the hotel. That should have been the first red flag. We checked in and the lady behind the front desk was not pleasant at all. She was kinda of rude to my wife. Though maybe she was having a bad day. and moved on. After we got to out room the door would stick. Upon entry the TV and all the lights were on in the room. We walked into where the "living area" was. there were large gaps in the flooring, there was chunks missing out out the molding on some of the furniture, the light in the fridge was out, there was paint and a hole on the sheer curtain. The sliding screen door had a whole cut in it, the AC control panel was damaged, on one of the lamp shades some one had drawn on it, the security hasp on the door looked like it had been damaged from the door getting kicked in, the facet plate in the tub was falling off, the Tub was showing signs of damage and there was a prong sticking out of one of the outlets on one if the light plug ins. According the the description on the web site this hotel was recently refurbished. This was not the case with the room we had at all. On top of that I went to call the front desk and no one bothered to answer the phone. There was no offering for breakfast except for coffee and tea. I will not be staying at this hotel again and would discourage anyone from staying here. It was not worth the money.
Do not stay here! This place is a disgrace to the best western name. Absolute disgusting, not sure which room they took pictures of but def not the one we got. There were homeless people everywhere, rats roaming the pool area, the room was digusting. And I provided a rewards gift card at check in and check out, only to be charged full price, Ive called 5 times and no one can seem to help me and theres never a manager on duty. Totally not worth the $130 a night! And to top it off no breakfast at all, not even a modified one.
The hotel is an Embarrassment to the Best Western brand, felt unsafe on property. Very unkept grounds, homeless sleeping on grounds. Lots of problems with room. I will never stay here again. But say all that, the staff was nice
First of all, my wife has some mobility problems, and this place does NOT have an elevator, which limits the rooms we could use. We wanted a King bed and the only room with a King bed on the first floor, I was told, was terrible. The window was broken, the window screen was missing, and the room wreaked of smoke. We agreed to a Queen room, but it smelled of weed and was filthy. We left and went to a nice place!
They gave us occupied rooms and when asked for different rooms the manager did nothing but yell at me. The new rooms were not cleaned, had hair all over beds and shoe prints on pillows, blood in bathroom, and found dirty rags between mattress, Manager was very rude and did not wear mask, we did not stay there at all and do not recommend!!!
We stayed overnight at this property while relocating North. We had a Uhaul towing trailer and were terrified everything would be stolen during the night. Numerous homeless people loitering around the parking lot. It was myself, my daughter, and myb2 yr old granddaughter. We ordered dinner delivered, so we didn't have to leave as it was very uncomfortable outside our room. We saw drug deals being made, prostitutes soliciting outside of room doors. We were awoke at 11:30 PM by some guy outside banging excessively on our door. We didn't answer, as we were terrified. We called the front desk and no answer. He knocked a few times then left. We decided to wait until daybreak to leave. Again, the same happened at 2am. He began banging on our door, hard! No answer at the front desk! We lay awake scared to leave until daylight. As soon as morning came, we got up, dressed and left! This place has no business, being in business. There is no control of their property or security. We were truly in fear for our lives! Called Corporate office and still waiting for a call back.
None of the staff were masked, indoor or outdoors. They also started construction on the flooring right outside our room door at 8 am using jackhammers. Front desk was not helpful with noise complaints, and construction tools blocked our way out of the room.
Although this hotel is conveniently located near the highway and rooms are inexpensive, the positives stop there. The property is filthy with trash. There is a security fence around the property to keep out unwanted individuals, but it seems those unwanted people have become guests of the hotel. The guests I encountered were not your typical overnight travelers, but more like residents of Sacramento that use the hotel for "meet ups." There was loud fighting and questionable activities happening in adjacent rooms into the early morning hours. I was awoken at 2:30 AM to what sounded like a saw and blow torch being used by three intoxicated individuals in the room next to me. There were people coming and going all night. I did see a private security vehicle go through the parking lot at one point, and I did hear a security staff calling on her radio to report an argument in one of the rooms, but that was early in the evening. 24x7 security is needed at this property and unwanted behavior should not be tolerated if the hotel wishes to retain respectful guests. Finally, the lobby staff was asleep when I walked in at 7:00 AM seeking assistance and did not respond to my voice. I will not be returning to this property and would not recommend to others.
Tamara is the BEST! She had phenomenal customer service and was so willing to help with the few specific requests I had. It's very hard to find people that care about helping people and she did. I called not once, not twice, but THREE times to ask about different things and she was nothing but patient, kind, and accommodating. Seriously she was the star that shined for my check in. Still currently at the hotel but I just couldn't wait til I checked out to post a raving review. THANK YOU SURE STAY! And thank you Tamara.
Been too a lot of economy motels in my life, this place was hands down the worst!! I'm normally not a big worrier, but based on the people, the cars and the noise throughout the night (lady screaming and not a happy scream) in the room above us, I didn't sleep at all. I brought everything we owned out of the car into the room because I was pretty certain the car would be broken into in the night, fortunately that didn't happen. Walked the dog in the middle of the night, 2am, and the lot was full of people just walking around, hanging out, drinking and leaving all their trash wherever. When checking in they wanted a $100 deposit on top of the room rate for incidentals??? I'm sure they have had to do repairs on rooms after their "guests" checked out. BTW, in the middle of the night there were 3 police cars with their lights on 1/2 block away taking care of some issue. This place has no business asking for your business!! The motel across the street is closed and fenced off, that would be the best outcome for this dump.
If you have any other options for somewhere to sleep, pick those ones. The room was dirty, the bed was rock hard, the window wouldn't close/was broken (unsafe!)... plus the entire property (inside and outside) reeked of urine. There were sketchy people being super loud right outside the room all night long, plus the walls were super thin. TV didn't work. No TP in the bathroom. Heater was busted. My non-smoking room reeked like an ashtray. No one wearing masks (including staff). I tried to sleep for a few hours, then decided to leave... I would've been better off sleeping in my car in a parking lot somewhere.
There is no way this hotel legitimately has a rating of 3.5. Garbage everywhere. Rats in parking lot. No smoke detector in room (empty base plate on wall). Deadbolt didn't work (misaligned). Tub/shower too disgusting to use. Random people in cars in parking lot (and driving through) blaring music (until 1:00am). Someone carrying plastic bags knocked on our door at approximately midnight, before going to the next room over. Terrifying/sleepless night. I called Best Western to alert them, as well as emailing photos. Hopefully they will do something, although I'm not sure the person I talked to believed me about how bad this hotel was. NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STAY! Oh, and the TV was on when we arrived (seemed odd) and wouldn't turn on the next morning.
The facilities in general were up to Best Western standards. The problem is there was no quality control. The cleaning staff was either poorly trained or not checked after. The dirt and hair behind the bathroom door was disgusting and kind of formed a caulk like paste.
You would think during a pandemic cleanliness would be a top priority. Not the case with this hotel. The first room I had the TV didn't work and the door didn't lock. They moved me into the only room left. In this room there were pubic hairs on the bathroom floor, pubic hairs in the bed sheets, a few yellow stains on the sheets, hair left in the sink, and the TV didn't work. It was disgusting.
The room was dirty. Had visible water stains inside the roof. Mold growing in the bathroom and dirty, stained carpets. NOT worth the price or stay! Please reconsider some other place. Please try to keep rooms clean and fixed.
Clean, quiet, & comfy bed. Stayed with my 2 kids before a flight out. Not far from the freeway or the airport. Friendly staff greet you & were very helpful. Rooms were stocked with all the basics which was nice since the last place we stayed had shampoo but not conditioner & coffee but only decaf lol!
Very clean, quiet area, service was efficient, housekeeping staff was very attentive and helpful the hotel staff were friendly and helpful I like the coffee. The tv has no good channels but the room was clean and neat
Pros: Friendly staff, fantastic Mexican restaurant next door, clean sheets Cons: faint stale cigarette smell inside; strong mj smell outside (this may be a pro), definitely some exchanging of goods and services in the parking lots; several tent camps in the area. Everyone I encountered was friendly, but this strikes me as somewhere one could be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
too much noise, too much "smoking" going on outside (weed). Little help with issues, TV, toilet, no housekeeping and not told why until almost last day despite requesting it many times. Will not stay at this one again.
Rooms were good. Recently remodeled. Need to clean up the pool area and the parking lot. Discus sting garbage. Get rid of the long term renters, no hotel should allow this with vacationers your main source of income...
Great Manager Tamara!!, excellent customer service, she made our stay, Pleasant and Sweet!! She deserves a Pay raise and a Promotion!! Thank Tamara!!! Great Customer Services!!! Great Manager Tamara!!!
I just wanted to tell a review for tamara. She is an outstanding receptionist she attends to whatever is going on and she makes you feel comfortable. She gives off great energy even when it's 7 in the morning . I love that she just talks to you like you can have conversations with out her trying to rush you . The only reason why I come back because she makes my stay here secure .
Didn't feel comfortable being here at night with the wife. Homeless people living in cars in the parking lot, super sketchy people just wandering around, and dirty grimey hallways with trash in them. Front desk lady was nice though!
Great service with personalized guest experiences. The Operations Manager, Maiesha was very helpful and a pleasure to speak to. Hope you take the time to go up to Tahoe BW Station House Inn. Would stay again.
Very unsafe!!! Door wouldn't lock!!! Police there multiple times in the 5 days I stayed. Would not recommend to anyone I know!! They did have a few friendly staff members however they do not balance all other issues.
Killed 3 gross ROACHES when I got out of the shower in the morning. That means I spent the whole night with roaches all over the place! Ewww! Bath tub was nasty and OLD! Not a place I would recommend for anyone. Looked like a high crime area.
They staff were very friendly, however the non smoking rooms smelled like weed and smoke, stains on the sheets, carpet, etc. There was hair on my towels and food on my tv remote so obviously they didn't wipe it down. Even for the price, they should still work on this. I also left my jewelry on the bathroom counter and when I went back two hours after I checked out, they wouldn't let me check the room to see if I could find it. I most likely won't be coming back if I have the choice. The hotel across from it, is much better.
The room overall was pretty clean. It was a nonsmoking room, but still smelled like smoke. Didn't bother my partner and I very much, but I can see it bothering those who are sensitive to the smoke smell. All appliances worked great. My only negative is the outside atmosphere. The area doesn't seem the safest so I would just be very careful with your personal belongings and your surroundings. We didn't use the pool, so cannot comment on that. Check in/check out process was easy. The front desk staff were not wearing masks (COVID-19 protocols) so that made me a bit uneasy. However, they do have plexi-glass set up between customers and employees. Super plus is that it is dog friendly! My dog enjoyed her stay here. :)
I have nothing against homeless people, but the hotel is located in an area overrun by homeless. I felt very unsafe. It was very dirty, trash everywhere, the pool area was the same. I rent this room because of the pictures on the internet showed a beautiful pool and rooms by the poolside, and it was alarming to see the trash and cigarette butts all over the property. Dirty used diapers next to the spa, chairs missing from the pool area. The room was adequate, we were only given a half of a roll of toilet paper for three guests. I had to ask the next morning for an additional roll. We stay there, because my daughter is a patient at Shriner's Hospital for Kids. The Front staff was nice and accommodating. Will not be coming back to the hotel again.
Really appreciate the effort of the hotel manager to make our stay work out. The reservation service mislead me with false information about when I could check in but thanks to the wonderful service of the hotel manager he was able to accommodate me. Next time I will make my reservation directly with the hotel.
Avoid this place. In very sketchy part of town. When I pulled up and saw that the entire place was surrounded by a high fence, I realized I made a mistake. It only got worse. It appeared that many of the "travelers" were actually residents there. Hard to sleep due to noise of others. I awoke to three cockroaches on floor...I could not shower and leave fast enough.
Never again, Rats outside the door feasting on overflowing thrash cans. Horrible neighborhood. Scared to walk out there by yourself at night. Homeless people sleeping in cars. Drunk sleeping on sidewalk near the pool.Odor in room. Filthy bath tub. Horrible pillows. Non excisting WiFi.
Hotel is dirty and noisy during the night! TV is not working ! Employees are unfriendly! Don't stay here ! We paid $80 a night for no sleep! Hope best western management really needs to improve their hotel services and facilities
The room smelled like cigarettes, the floor had not been swept and mopped. The location has a huge homeless population. After sundown the parking lot became a drug deal and prostitution hub all through the night. It was scary. During check-in the staff was super nice, but insisted that I pay a $100.00 deposit on a seperate credit card which I found odd since I payed for the hotel through their website. At check out the hot breakfast turned out to be a brown bag with an apple, a protein bar, and a bottled water. And I was told that the deposit would be reversed in 7 to 10 business days. Really? Even the staff are shady.
Stayed here for a week while there was no plumbing in our new home. Rooms clean, staff friendly.will be back again soon for a staycation!!!also have told family out of state, this is where they need to stay when they come for family visits and trips
I Made a reservation to this hotel, always check pictures and reviews , As soon i got there I noticed a lot of people walking in and out , lot of homeless on the outside. lot of people half naked people, others smoking on the second floor walkway of the hotel, others staring every car going in, there was not parking space available all we're occupied. seemed all room were occupied by some group of people. in general it was very unsafe area. checked in but as soon I saw all this happening in the outside decided to cancel the reservation and went to a different hotel, I never got a refund, but really didn't mind. Avoid this hotel if you looking for a safe area. It seems more like a motel than a hotel.
Do NOT stay at this hotel!!! I was a guest there on October 23, 2019 and had my rental car parked in their parking lot when it was damaged. There was an explosion form one of the rooms and flying glass and debris hit and scratched my car. The manager of the hotel, James, was an eyewitness to the damage. He assured me that his hotel and/or hotel management company would pay the rental car company the costs of the damages/repairs. He even issued a written statement to me attesting to this fact. A month passed and neither James nor the hotel took the necessary action to pay the rental car company. I called and James assured me he would take care of the matter. This happened and happened again each month for six months. Meanwhile, the rental car company is pursuing damages for approximately $5,000 from me and threatening to take the bill to collections. This will damage my credit, put me one a "do-not-rent" list with rental car companies, and possibly lead to a suspension of my license. This cannot stand! I cannot work or get any income in the last one months due to coronavirus situation, so I cannot afford to pay rent for my apartment. Furthermore, my drivers license would be suspended? No way! Do not stay at this hotel!! They cannot be trusted to do what they say and they do not care about their customers.
This quiet, out of the way hotel, was budget friendly and comfortable. Although, not in the best of areas, there was an abundance of homeless people, and drunk partiers, who had also rented rooms. But the staff was friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable.
The hotel rooms arent bad. They are specious and clean which is what matters. Hallways need a bit of an update or a fresh coat of paint. I got a pool facing room and was assigned one near the end. Went outside to the patio and saw homeless camps right on the other side of the fence just feet away from our back door. Nothing happened but i can imagine some people feeling uneasy. Overall the hotel is ok, perhaps just try to request a room close to the lobby area.
Nice enough location to the freeway. My room was nice inside but other guest going by room were very loud. I don't think I would have chosen this location had I known that a lot of homeless lived in the area.
Dirty pretty much describes this place. Garbage in the parking lot. Unsightly characters running around. I even saw money exchanging hands in the parking lot. It's hard to believe this hotel is under the Best Western brand.
I love best western and this one exceeded my expectations and their supervisor left me feeling just like family and even remembered me the second time around. She gave me a free room upgrade thanks to my gold status and my points even though I booked through a third party.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Surestay Plus Hotel while visiting Sacramento for an expo. The rooms were adequate for our needs & we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast could definitely be much better. What really made our stay worth while was the kindness shown by one of the night shift personnel, Kristine. She was so friendly, kind & helpful.
A room near ours hosted a gathering (10+ people) until after midnight, then an argument broke out at 3:15. Guest services did nothing to fix the issue other than calling for a patrol car (the officer never stopped).
The front desk personnel were very good. Our room was large, clean and quiet. Beds very comfortable. Reasonable price. Can't ask for much more from a hotel. Located close to the interstate. I would stay here again.
This location is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it is a great example of “Don't judge a book by the cover” I stayed here once for a girl's night years ago and was pleased to see they've done some updates. There are some paint touch ups needed, doors that need to be replaced, and better signage for directions to the rooms, but I was pleased with the updated decor and mini fridge in our room. The bed was a bit creaky, the walls were thin enough to hear the murmurs of voices, and sometimes hearing the slamming of doors. Pros: • New Ice Machines • Easy access to both northbound and southbound I-5 • 24hr Denny's right next door • $7-9 Lyft/Uber ride to Raley Field • 10 minutes walk to Richards Blvd Greyhound Station • Free Breakfast that's more than just muffins, juice, and coffee. • Close to restaurants • Reasonable price • Nearby gas stations, convenience stores, and grocery stores • Staff was friendly and helpful both at checkin and checkout Cons: • Smell I can't put my finger on (I don't know if it's a particular cleaning supply or something, but it was a chemical odor) • Some people may take issue with the number of indigent people in the area but they didn't approach or harass us, they were just people trying to live their lives. If we're ever in the area and needing a place to stay for a quick overnight: we'd definitely stay here again.
I have been coming back to this motel for business trips every week for over three years. The friendly staff and excellent service is routine and I now take it for granted. That a great breakfast is included make this a great deal on top of all the other amenities. Wifi is fast and reliable, too
From arrival to departure this was nothing but a disgusting place. I read all the reviews and thought we made the right choice for our one night stop. I was so wrong. This is a drug addict and homeless apartment complex. Yes the property is gated but they don't shut the gates. Upon checking in we parked and ran into dog poop all over the side walk outside our room. Parties going on in all rooms surrounding us, with “regulars”. Drug addicts scattered around the parking lot tweaking out. Dirty sheets, nasty bathroom, unclean fridge, non working tv, and a gate that would screech every 20 mins upon opening. Why they needed this gate was completely bizarre because the front one was never shut. We called for tv repair didn't fix it. We called for noise control, didn't do anything. If our kids weren't asleep we would of left. The beds were awful, pretty sure the sheets weren't changed. The bathroom was falling apart mold, dry rot, and water damage. The photos do not match conditions. Breakfast was ok, they did have hot food but I didn't eat it after how gross I felt from the night. My kids had a bowl of cereal. When having breakfast the other patrons were greeting each other by name and asking how their parties were. How their kids were and it was clear they lived in the hotel. Even the staff knew them by name. We left without showering, no one asked how our night was, and thankful with all our belongings. Just do yourself a favor and choose a different place. Don't take your kids here.
The maid busted in my room and hr before check out.she knocked on the door I said please dont come in I am on the toilet. She busted through my door anyway saying are you checking out today, I said it isnt my checkout time yet so please leave ..she said w.e and after a min I heard her slam the door shut and I was in the bathroom at the time. She had stolen my hair straightener before leaving the room. It was next too the door on the counter
We travel down to Sacramento from time to time and try to find a hotel near downtown or West Sacramento area, with breakfast, since we want to fuel up and just go in the mornings, so we can just go out and visit family and not worry about finding a place to get breakfast. This place seems to have a great choices and easy to get taken care of all at once.
Made reservation two months in advance, found hotel overbooked. I was downgraded and was never offered a partial refund only asked if I wanted to stay. Checked into a room with a leak that went unchecked.
I love this place the young lady Tamara Davis was very nice a helpful. The rooms are very very clean and the best are comfortable. Overall this hotel gets a 10/10 and the customer service alone will bring me back.
it was quiet and comfy. breakfast was awesome staff was very friendly and helpful. the room was clean and cozy. would of liked the location to have been better but since they had security it was safe feeling
We requested a lower level room with 2 beds. We were given a room with 1 bed, NOT the hotel's fault. The staff managed to give us a non smoking room with 2 beds with easy access to room on the ground floor.
Really appreciate lanorah breakfast lady, food is great and so is her attitude.nice way to start a morning off with such positive vibes thank you lanorah.I highly recommend sure stay Sacramento, rooms are clean and security is tight
Ok I don't ever write reviews but after the experience I had here I felt everyone should be warned . I'm a best western platinum member as such say in hotels quite often and have never had any problem from the best western brand till this . I had made a reservation for this hotel through the app on my phone as always and proceeded to swing by my bank and deposit the money to cover room . When I arrived to check In I was informed that some one else had came to hotel and attempted to check I'm on my reservation !!! How is that even possible??? The lady behind the desk had attempted to run my card witch luckily was denied now how she justified checking them into my room and charging my card still don't understand. I have always been required to show my Id and card when checking in so for them to check some one else in on my card who is t me and does not have my card shouldn't be possible. And to add insult to injury the person who tried checking into my room canceled my reservation when my card didn't work so when I get there and tried checking in I had no reservation and they were sold out !!!! They really need to train the employees better here I won't make the mistake of staying here again !!!
However, everything between the office and my room was frightening. The parking lot isn't big enough. The neighborhood is full of transients sleeping on the sidewalks. Long-term guests loitering, smoking, drinking, and engaging in other shady activities. I ended up paying g for and staying at a different hotel.
I stayed here for a night. They let me check in late also which was a lifesaver. The staff was very friendly and overall I loved my stay here and so did my friends! The breakfast was very good and the variety of coffee was perfect !
Room wasn't clean, Staff didn't care, the non smoking room has an air conditioner that seems to blow a heavy cigarette fragrance(Go Figure). Just not a quality place. If you just need a bed here ya go
This place is infested with bed bugs, staff is useless and rude. I didn't stay here I immediately checked out and was refused a refund I had to wait close to a week for the hold on my card to be off and then had to dispute charges through my bank
This is my favorite getaway location... over the last few years this has become my number one location to get away from the noise and business of my life. The staff is well mannered and always accommodates my room needs. CLEAN QUIET GREAT STAFF
Lanorah was the name of the lady that made breakfast. It was super yummy! Loved all the little touches like passion guava juice & sausage patties & links. Very friendly place. Would love to stay again next time I'm in the area.
Will come back. Friendly staff, clean rooms, awesome breakfast. The people are so welcoming and will go way beyond to make your stay good no matter what time of the day you check in.We had some confusion about our room as we did it on line but the front office guyz took care of it. I will always come here until the provide the same service.
If I could this place would have a 0. The sheets were stained and the rooms smell like marihuana even though they state they are non smoking. There is a lot of homeless roaming around their parking lot late at night. My husband had to go to their front desk at midnight because our room cards were not working and at that time someone was banging on someones door demanding them to open it. We had to wait until this person left in order for us to be able to get into our room. Once inside our room this person came back three times banging on the door again. Clearly they have no supervision or they do not care who is roaming around making it extremely unsafe for everyone. Their manager only works Monday through Friday so if you have a complaint on the weekend you will have to wait until Monday because the fron desk is in charge for the weekend and they cannot do anything. Once Monday comes around and you are able to complain all you get is a generic message from James stating that he is sorry and hopes you will stay there again. Save your money and save yourself a horrible experience by never staying here!!!
Many homeless people on the front lawn and lining both sides of the street. Panhandling when we walked to Denny's next door or the gas station across the street. The "Security" (it said security on his shirt and he was observed behind the counter) had his pants hanging below his butt. The manager was rude. I had two reservations for the same room (one night and then two more nights, the same room). Instead of taking care of business the first night, the manager called the room the second day and said "you need to come to the office right now and register for your second reservation and you didn't pay for your dogs, either". He did not ask "will you please come to the office when you have a few minutes so we can take care of this second reservation?".....nothing like that, just pain rude! I explained that I'd given my credit card when I checked in, to cover the dogs fees and that I'd be up there shortly. He replied "well you card wasn't charged so you need to decide how you're going to pay for that". I again repeated that he had my credit card information for that transaction. It appeared that he was very frustrated about something and that I just happened to get in the line of fire. The gentleman that checked me in and the ladies in the office were nice and professional however, the manager needs some customer service training. The windows in the office are very dirty and streaked. The door to the breakfast room (from outside) is just nasty......this hotel does not have an eye for detail or cleanliness. The tub faucet was about a half inch from the wall, allowing water to get into the wall (no telling what's growing in there). The towel rack above the toilet is broken and missing a couple of cross bars. The hot tub had yellow caution tape around it but one look at it and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have used it anyway. The surrounding area is a lot of trash and a lot of homeless people. The ground floor room was large and appeared to be clean and it was quiet. This hotel is in the worst area of any Best Western that we've ever stayed in and this is the lowest review I've given of any Best Western Hotel and it was deserved.
The room was dirty. The coffee maker was filthy and there was someone's old sandwich left in the refrigerator. People fighting in the parking lot. And the staff was unfriendly. Plus they like to charge you a deposit and not tell you untill you check in and it's to late to cancel your reservation
I found this hotel literally at the last minute and it was very late but the staff was amazing! they literally saved me from spending the night at the airport. Bravo to caring and wonderful staff and management both night and day shifts. The room was lovely and incredibly clean.
LaNarah is an amazing chef for our breakfast. The rooms were large and the service was wonderful. The only downside was the jacuzzi was not working. The staff was respectful of our wishes for our dogs. It was 7 minutes from my business meetings.
This is my second time staying at this hotel and I have been satisfied both times. Although the location is in a weird spot, it is right off the freeway and a mile away from downtown and the Golden 1 center. The rooms are clean, nice, beds are comfy and everything works inside the room perfectly. Super affordable rates, and breakfast in the morning! I would continue to choose to stay here for my Sacramento trips.
At first I was put off by the appearance, but after the warm welcome from Nikki at the front desk and her reassurance, I was decided to give the hotel a try. So happy I did! The rooms are clean with nice comfy beds and the housekeeping staff is so nice. At breakfast there are so many options to choose from. Everyone was so happy and helpful from the breakfast attendant to the front desk staff in the morning. Great stay will be back again.
The breakfast was delicious. I love waffles and eggs and sausage. Personal computer in the lobby. Detail list including Wi-Fi password ready for you when you get to your room.staff was extremely helpful and helped me with all my needs.
The service I received during my stay at this property was exceptional. Everyone I encountered during my stay was professional, and every staff member including the manager seemed to go the extra mile to make sure our needs were taken care of in a timely manner. Lenora, the head breakfast staff is exceptional. I was amazed at how she can meticulously multitask, and the great effort she puts in her work. She kept the area cleaned, and well stock.Thank you SureStay staff!! You made my stay extra special.
Very disappointed in the staff member her name was Nikki or Nicole young girl and she was very unprofessional and treated me and my mother like we were immigrants or something. The stay was okay but when we asked a question to her she immediately had an attitude. I see a lot of people lingering around but it's not okay to treat people that way not to mention we are from another state. Would recommend HIRING friendly, welcoming staff we paid good money for a night. Dont treat people like crap it makes the establishment look bad, I even heard her greeting others with a rude tone. NEVER AGAIN. Not to mention we're from out of state and I usually dont write reviews but my mom said that was her worst experience the entire California trip, she was by far the rudest. Surestay north was okay but her customer service was not friendly she was acting like a red hair chucky kind of look like him too:) HIRE INDIVIDUALS WHO ENJOY THEIR JOB PLEASE AND TREAT OTHERS HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED.
Beware hotel for it is at a homeless area & unsure of safety issues. The breakfast area is inadequate & the menu items are mediocre at best. Would not want to return due to location. Room was clean & shower ok.
The quality of the room is exactly what was paid for. It seemed to be a lot of people who actually lived at the hotel, and not just on vacation. The area also had a lot of homeless around where I did not feel the safest. The room had a dirty chair inside that I would not let me or my children sit on. Just not the best hotel, just a cheap one.
First time, but will stay again. Very polite staff. Room was comfy with so much to offer for its price range. Wished hottub worked, would've been nice to relax more. Would've loved to be offered the patio or balcony rooms as an option.
My boyfriend and I are eternally grateful to this hotel! They took us in when we were getting rejected by all these hotels because we weren't 21+. Desmond, and Shelly were so very helpful and took care of us and made sure we had an amazing stay! We will definitely be returning!
My arrival here was very pleasant. The ladies working in the office were very nice and accommodating. The room is very modern inside and I can tell it was remodeled recently and it seemed to be very clean. If you're on a budget but want a good place, stay here!
When we turned the corner to arrive at our hotel there were homeless people on both sides of the street and when we went to breakfast which they provided, staff in side while people taking ALL fresh fruit out several trips.
Our stay at the hotel was really Nice. Staff le dedicated. Breakfast and internet are meeting expectations. We are close To everything including walking distance to Dennys. However, it is really noisy at night a bit hard to sleep well.
Room was clean, except there was a stain on the sheets. Neighbors were fighting and arguing all night and the staff did nothing about it. Hotel seems to be in a bad area, lots of vagrants, and I didn't feel safe leaving anything of even minute value in my car overnight.
Conveniently located and the staff is terrific!! Nice breakfast and also a Denny's on property! Lots of ppl business, schools and personal stay here. The manager James is very particular for his property being well kept !
This hotel gets 4 stars , factoring in the price. It's location is only about 12min from airport, straight shot up i-5. Limited choices for food within walking distance, but with a Denny's right next door, .......it works. They're are many homeless people walking the streets in the area, but this is a gated property, and did not see any homeless within the gates. They offer a decent breakfast selection and have a pool. The beds are better than many other places, and the a/c in my room was awesome. One downfall to this place is the number and size of parking places. All spots fill up, and they're so close together, difficulty getting in/out of vehicles. But the price counters any shortcomings, and will be staying they're again.
The hotel was in an older section of town but had obviously been renovated. There were some areas nearby that made me think I had made a bad choice, but was pleasantly surprised at the friendly staff and cleanliness of the lobby and room.
Very reasonably priced hotel. The rooms are a little dated, but they are very clean. The bed was comfortable. The front staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to the airport. I would stay here again.
Not very happy with room condition. Shower adjust broken, Carpet filthy, feet stick to carpet. Did not show that it needed a security fence all around with homeless camped out front of property. probably will not stay again.
I'm so disappointed by my stay here. We went to have breakfast in the lobby and were shocked to find that there were no high chairs. Our toddler was one of 4 having breakfast that morning and all of them were sitting in regular chairs because there was no other choice. well ours got her leg stuck in the back and she tried to stand up causing the chair to fall and her weight to land on her leg under the back of the chair. she screamed and screamed and we were panicking. the entire time the staff ignored us. no one even asked if she was okay or tried to help. we ended up at urgent care and her leg was broken. our vacation ruined. I sent in my survey and a complaint only to receive a generic copy and paste response from the manager about how they appreciate our feedback and are sorry. a ruined vacation and approx 3k in medical Bill's later and they didnt even the decency to send a personalized apology or to at least assure us they will purchase some high chairs. utterly disgusting. I will never ever stay in any Best Western ever again.
We used this as it was handy for Freeway on our way to Sebastapol. a bit out nowhere near to eat except a Denny's right beside hotel. We did pop into Old Town Sacremento which wasn't to far 10min by car. The room we had overlooked the swimming pool, which is probably the best rooms but you still get a bit of freeway noise, although wasn't to bad. Room was a good size and great for what we wanted, however still had wash basin in room? Does have on site car parking but would not feel save walking outside hotel.
Easy access off I80,very cordial helpful staff at reception, comfy bed, nice large breakfast and a great price! We were very satisfied with our stay.We were in town for an ACBL tournament. Definitely would stay here again.
The room was spacious and clean with free breakfast and WiFi. Can't beat the price! And it's located right off interstate 5! Breakfast can be crowded but we always managed to find a table. Plenty of food with cereal, muffins, eggs, sausage and potatoes. Plus make your own waffles.
Mostly good. Breakfast was good until I asked a question about it. Area is shady but no problems. Pool was really dirty. Staff was uninformed about procedures and gave me conflicting info. Planning on having our company no longer affiliate with them.
The floor was soaking wet as if it were just shampooed and not allowed to properly dry. The room was humid and muggy due to the excessive moisture. I checked in at 7:30 PM and tired from a 3 hour drive, so I just dealt with the problem. I was out by 6:00 AM.
Ok for 1 night.quiet internet very slow to far from downtown not enough stores within walking distance friendly staff.rooms were clean outside run down breakfast was not very good sausage eggs potatoes taste like microwave meals I stayed at several best westerns it wasn't quite to the standards but if I had to I will stay there again .
Although the Sure Stay is associated with Best Western, this is not anywhere near the level of quality that a Best Western typically represents. From the stains on the bathroom door jam to the big spider living in the corner of the room by the ceiling to the broken outlet behind the bed (exposed wires) to the remote receiver module that I had to fish out from behind the entertainment center and reattach to the tv so the control would work to 8 1/2" x 11" laminated warning about carbon monoxide poisoning on the desk to ... you get the idea (photos). I have stayed in many motor-lodge style motels on business and do not mind if I know that is what I am signing up for. This trip was with my family and I trusted the Best Western name to represent a certain level of quality (I booked the room through Best Western reservations so I know they are associated some how). I accept that I am responsible for notifying the hotel staff and trying to help remedy these problems but given the late hour (10:00 p.m.) and the fact that the majority of the hotel appeared to be in similar condition on the outside I chose to try and get some sleep and discuss the conditions in the morning. My experience may be unique and others may have had/will have a wonderful experience. I will not by trying this hotel again. The purpose of this review is only to retell one person's experience so others can make an informed decision. Caveat Emptor
Great customer service, staff are very respectful and respond quickly. Rooms are always clean and well kept. I stay visit Sacramento every two weeks due to school and I feel safe staying here always. :)
The main reason I chose this hotel was because of the hot tub, and I was not informed it would be out of order due to "maintenance", even though I never saw anyone working on it and it was full of cold water. The front desk didn't even bother to tell me when I asked for towels. The room and breakfast was nice, but I don't think the price was worth it without the hot tub.
Staff will go above &beyond to make your stay pleasent from Dustin & Tamera @front desk to Jessy&Enrique in maintenance Rooms& linens are always clean &great value for the $$. Breakfast is good too. .
We stayed here on our return from San Felipe, Baja CA, Mexico after staying two nights at the Bakersfield Surestay, one in each direction and while the front desk staff was excellent and even better than the Bakersfield one, the rooms were not as nice and while the facility is non smoking management does nothing to enforce it if it is occurring outside of the rooms even if it is within a few feet of them or smoking on the exterior stairwells of the facility. The included breakfast is excellent, with hot and cold breakfast cereals, eggs, yogurt, pastries, sausage links and sausage patties (. Word to the wise the links are much better than the patties!), waffles, fresh fruit and four options on fruit juice as well as numerable teas and coffee and milk! A great way to start the day and a major plus. Be sure to sign up for their rewards club and any frequent stat programs that are in effect at the time of your stay! Best rates are from booking directly as opposed to through various other booking websites. AAA and AARP May save you money over even their preferred member rates particularly if booking close to your stay and did so on two of our three nights stayed on this trip. Be sure to book the top floor if you are a light sleeper as you will definitely hear people above you as we needed a room change to resolve this problem. There is no elevator and only stairs to the second level if you have mobility concerns and if you are carrying a cooler to the second floor it can be quite a chore even if you are in excellent condition. There is a nice large lock tv in each room along with a microwave, mini refrigerator and an iron and a nice shower and bath with ample hot water and a firm spray. The neighborhood is somewhat sketchy as we went for an evening walk and found many noisy watchdogs and people out loitering and arguing in the neighborhood. Nonetheless , I did not feel overtly threatened and my wife was reassured by my presence. Compared to Redding, Bakersfield and El Centro you are not getting sufficient bang for the buck and I would recommend bypassing Sacramento and staying in Redding instead as we did on our trip South!
After 9 Best Westerns on this road trip, this place is by far the worst! The room smelled of bleach. There was no luggage cart so we had to lug bags. The wi-fi didn't work except on my tablet and that had limited use. The desk chair would not raise up at all so I am practically sitting on the floor typing this into Word so I can cut & paste it at the next stop. They would not give me a replacement chair. The pet area for our dog had building materials on it and no bags for poop in the dispenser. We only have 2 towels instead of the usual 4. The room's floor is Pergo-type flooring which is curling up on the edges. This must be the cut-rate Best Western. Don't stay here! If I was Best Western, I wouldn't want my name associated with this lousy motel. I'd revoke their franchise.
The staff was responsive, kind, caring and cheerful. The rooms were clean. The continental breakfast was amazing- not just pastries and carbs. There were eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, yogurt, fruit...
When you are used to a normal Best Western standards you do not think you need to call to see if the pool or jacuzzi works but in this case you do. We came a day early to enjoy the amenties before my son flew out of Sacramento and our whole plan was enjoy the room and amenities so the trip was a bit wasted. So room is a 3 but staff should have told me and they said the pool isnt heated not that the jacuzzi doesnt work. Knowing I came to swim and hang out I would say the staff did not do their job. I just started using best westerns and have had some great experiences this hotel doesnt deserve the logo.
Stayed here twice. Thought maybe we just had a bad room the first time. Not the case. The first time we had to have maintenance come to connect the TV twice. Second time the TV would not change channels. We were so over it, we didn't bother calling maintenance. The hotel itself is an older (price appropriate) building. Nice people and a good breakfast.
The room was dirty and uncomfortable. The carpet was pulled up in many spot in the middle of the room and was a tripping hazard. There was no cold water in the faucet, cold dial was warm and hot was scalding. The shower would not get hotter than room temp and the shower head was detached from the wall and hanging free. Bathroom was dirty and had hair in it from previous guests. The room door did not have a sealed trim so light from the outside plus air and noise were coming into the room from around the door trim. At 3:45am a vehicle parked outside of our window and began blaring music so loudly it woke me and my partner up and we were not able to go to sleep. I went downstairs to the front desk to ask for assistance since the car was so loud. The front desk clerk refused to ask them to turn it down or to offer any assistance. We called the Sacramento PD and grabbed our belonging and checked out at 4am without finishing our stay. I will NEVER stay in any hotel linked to Best Western ever again and I will actively discourage anyone from staying in your establishments. I notified Expedia and my bank of the fraud this hotel was and my bank will be blocking all charges linked to the fraud that was this hotel.
Needed a place to get some rest after a long day. Lots of people coming and going all hours of the night. Thin front wall and door. Homeless people living close to hotel. I would stay in woodland,ca next time.
The folks at SureStay Plus work hard to make visitors feel welcome but Meisha goes the extra distance to make sure nothing is overlooked and that the customer is treated right! She was professional and kind!
I checked the ratings and reviews for this hotel and decided to book a room there. Never again. The room was clean and staff fine. We were awakened several times by angry, yelling people in the room next to us. We called management to take care of the situation and they talked to our “ neighbors”, who didn't stop swearing or fighting in the room and out of the room several times during the night. We felt unsafe. The area felt unsafe and I will not return. The police should've been called. We complained the next morning and the staff apologized profusely and refunded us a small portion of our room rate. They should've given us all our money back. We were told the manager wouldn't return until 3 days later. This entire situation should've been communicated to the manager the moment the guests were disruptive. The outside of the hotel needs work - there were nails sticking out of boards in the parking area, paint chipping off of the painted floors etc....room itself very clean and cleaning staff nice
Room was clean, king bed was comfortable, heater was quiet, the rug looked new, for a very reasonable price (1 mile away in downtown will be at least $25 more for same quality). Breakfast is more than toast and coffee, but come early, it gets crowded. Even though it's close to the freeway, once you close the door you hardly hear it. Tamara at front desk is friendly, efficient and does her best to accommodate each guest.
My husband has to travel often for work which allows us to stay in many hotels. What I love about SureStay in Sacramento is the fact that hotel staff is extremely friendly. Every person we met has been so helpful and kind. The hotel is slowly remodeling their rooms. During construction, the staff made sure all guests are comfortable. Breakfast is decent. Housekeeping is absolutely on point. Location is conveniently close to downtown shops and restaurants. A quick thank you for welcoming BCM Construction crew. I always worry about my husband on the road but with this amazing staff I know he is well cared for. Look forward to visiting next week.
I had a room on the 1st floor that if any other guest walks down the hallway talking in a normal voice, it echos very loudly and is clearly heard in the room. These were not hooligans or kids running around. It just made me feel like basic sound barriers inside the walls or properly insulated doors would have been a simple way to prevent this issue making the experience frustrating. The inside of the room however was very comfortable and well maintained.
The out side looks really crappy, and it's next to the freeway, but my guest room was sparkling clean, roomy, and quite comfortable. Staff was very pleasant. Breakfast room was very crowded, food was as you would expect for this great price.
I stay here a lot. For the money you just can't beat it. The staff is always more than friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and big and always clean. The beds are super comfortable always. And finally the best part of this place is they serve a real breakfast in the morning. Bacon and eggs, waffles, potatoes, muffins, coffee, the works. A real breakfast. Finally, they get your deposit back to you soon so they're not holding your money for days like some other hotel chains.
Fantastic customer service. Felt right at home in soon as I walk through the door. After a long string was dry, like a 10 or family. Beautiful location. Beautiful property. Tamra and Yolanda have excellent customer service.
You get what you pay for which in this case shouldn't be seen as negative. The rooms are spacious, at least compared to European standards, and maybe more importentant. The area is quite dodgy with many homeless, though they dont bother you. Not a typically place I would stay for business but if you're travelling with economically concious partners this hotel is value for money.
Horrible location! Parking lot flight of random garbage all over the place. Very nice and friendly staff! Rooms were decent but looked like they could a real cleaning. Decently price but very sketchy and noisy area.
We had a great experience here. The staff was very helpful. Our car's battery died while we were there and the maintenance man went above and beyond to give us a jump so we didn't miss the funeral we were in the area to attend. We really enjoyed the free breakfast. Everything was delicious, and there was a wonderful variety of choices offered, from hot and filling to quick and lite. There didn't seem to be any elevator. Our room had some noticeable stains on the sofa, carpet and bathroom counter, but nothing that we couldn't overlook. Overall, a very good hotel.
Stayed there for one night. The room was pretty decent and very clean. The surroundings are a very different story. The hotel is located in an area where homeless abound. We could barely sleep because a couple was yelling, fighting, dragging stuff, and slamming the door several times. We just did not feel safe there so we'll not be back for sure.
About 40 years ago I stayed in a very inexpensive hotel in Mexico City located on a street that had nonstop traffic noise 24-7. Until tonight it was the noisiest hotel I had ever stayed at. Tonight I (unfortunately) stayed at a motel in Sacramento that exceeded my wildest imagination of noisy. The hotel is surrounded by a highway and highway entrance plus two heavily trafficked thoroughfares. I actually opened up my Decibel X Pro app and recorded levels at 8pm on a Saturday evening. The lowest decibels 1 recorded were 70 to 88 and accounted for 68% of my recordings over 20 minutes. However, 26% of my recordings of decibels ranged from 88-94 when fire engines, ambulances and accelerating vehicles without mufflers drove by. The remaining 3% were over 94 decibels. Key to decibels: 70= normal conversation 75=inside car 80=loud singing 88=automobile 90=motorcycle 94=blender 100=subway The room itself was quite nice: spacious, clean, comfy bed and pillows, refrig and microwave, coffee maker. Lighting was so-so, TV was fine and so was the bathroom counter space. It all depends on your noise tolerance whether you stay here or not.
Although it states smoking must be more then 20 feet from building. Smokers everywhere next to building - including employees. Some standing right near front door lobby. Yuck Good news, rooms perfect for pets. All laminate flooring and oversized. Thanks for that.
Miserable stay. More of a budget motel with outdoor entrances. Noisy walkways. Family did not feel safe. Staff not very helpful. Towels and linens all worn and rough. Bathtub sloppy repair. Not recommended
When I first saw the place I thought That maybe I made a mistake, the surrounding area was not my idea of a safe location. My hesitation was put to rest upon entering the property and seeing security and a well fenced perimeter. The hotel was well maintained and attractive, would stay here again.
My husband checked us into our room today. He came back praising our receptionist, going as far as to say the staff in the office was some of the nicest he has met. We frequently travel and I've never seen him so excited about hotel staff. Thanks for going the extra mile, Tamara!
I have to pay for my own hotels when traveling for work but I hate staying at bottom of the line places. I stayed at a couple of 3 star hotels for a couple days when i got to the area and this did not feel like a downgrade. When I landed here I wasn't expecting much but after seeing the place, I decided to post up here for a couple weeks. Amazing for the price in my opinion. Hot breakfast everyday and everything is nice and clean. Shout out to Roberta at the front desk!
Stayed here last week for the marathon. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was spacious but the bed a double was a little small for 2 people and the chair in the room had stains on it. My main issue with the hotel is the location. Definitely a seedy area. The view from our window was to a parking lot with tents in it where homeless were staying. Multiple times I saw people going through both the dumpster and the trash cans on the hotel property. Kind of surprised the hotel allows that, it doesn't look very good. If I come back again for the marathon, I'll pay the extra money and stay downtown next time.
Michelle was very great with use the service and everything was wonderful and I enjoyed my stay for the two weeks I would Recommend this to anyone to stay at that hotel nice clean room wonderful beds and great room service
I stayed here with my family and it was well worth it your front desk clerk Deshawn was excellent and has perfect customer service skills. The Breakfast was awesome can't say much more about this hotel I was very pleased.
Very disappointed in this hotel, especially with the Best Western name attached. Room was not clean, group of young contractors staying here were at the end of the hall outside smoking, drinking and listening to very loud music that we could easily hear in our room. Front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. In reading some of the other reviews, especially about service, I have to wonder if we are talking about the same hotel. I will never stay here again.
My family and I lost everything in the paradise fire we came to the sure stay scared and tired the staff is amazing Tamara and DeSean as well as demeisha are so sweet the manager James made sure we were comfortable and was very professional definitely would recommend staying here it's a warm family feeling we got from everyone there thanks surestay!
I had business in the area and stayed 2 days. I was impressed with the front desk person Tamara, she was very helpful, knew the area and was available with a warm smile and happy, helpful attitude. Much more inclined to come back to this hotel next time I have business in the area.
I had a great experience here. Very warm and inviting. The employees are very helpful and kind. Tamara was amazing. She was very accommodating, extremely helpful, friendly and all with a smile. I will definitely be coming back.
Great location if you have a car. It's a short drive from oldtown and downtown. Check in was very quick, and staff is very friendly (especially Roberta and Tamara). There is a private parking, breakfast is very good (nice options like eggs, waffles, fruits, yogurt...), rooms are clean, bed is very comfortable.
Tamara and Dymeisha greeted me with a welcoming smile. The ladies were professional, upbeat, and shared local information such as eateries. This will be my go to hotel when I am working in the area.Room was clean and comfortable.
Tamara and Roberta made us feel very welcomed and we had a great connection with them. The hotel rooms were so nice and clean and the pool was very nice to. The beds were really comfortable and we slept like a baby. Overall I enjoyed my stay at surestay hotel.
Nothing but good things to say about this hotel! Have stayed here a couple of times and have always had a pleasant stay. Office staff Tamara and Dsean went above and beyond upon check in and were just awesome!
This room was nice and clean, and although the hotel was sold out, it was quiet. The breakfast was nice. The wifi was intermittently weak or not working. And, our bathroom sink had only ice cold water. We saw that the hot water had been turned off, and when we turned it on, the only water we got was scalding. We stayed 2 nights, and this was never fixed. To its credit, management extended us a 10% discount for the lack of hot water in the sink. I would stay again.
Rooms are very nice ,not once did I find a bug or get bit , so thankful for that &all of the staff are good people , they work hard , seems like everyone is in good spirits here while working , being that I always see them running around with smiles trying to get things done ! They also have Cool prices , Miesha @ the front desk is very nice too !
This hotel is reasonably priced and dog friendly. The room was surprisingly clean and although the grounds are run down and a bit rough, it was decent for us and our dogs for one night. The problem it seems, is that there are perhaps some folks living long term in the hotel, so there are lots of people hanging around the property; not to mention the hordes of homeless people in the area (this is apparent all through Sacramento, but especially near the parks and river). I could see why some people wouldn't feel safe here... but the parking area is fenced and the customer service was friendly.
My stay at surestay plus by best western Was great customer service was great Dymeisha helped me at the front Desk she was awesome greeted me with a smile other staff was great she also Stated the rooms were very nice and spacious And the breakfast was out of this world There was a lot homeless on Bercut but my stay was great I will definitely book there again.
It was a great stay. The rooms were very comfortable and clean... the ambience was relaxing and refreshing... the breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety to choose from... I would recommend this establishment to all and any looking for a place to stay while in that area.
Meisha at the front desk sets a very high bar with her exceptional customer service skills!! Her warm and welcoming smile and sweet, helpful attitude were a delight and truly made the difference during our stay! She is the #1 reason we will book with SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Sacramento North next time we are in Sacramento!!
The room was really spacious for the price I got it for. Looks like their renovating it from the inside out (Taking care of the important things first) Very quiet and the full hot breakfast was great. Wifi worked perfectly and the front desk clerks were very nice. There were a couple homeless around the area but they were harmless and it's how sacramento is in general. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Tamara was extremely pleasant and she wears many hats! She needs A RAISE!I frequently stay at this location and although it has its ups and downs the staff makes sure to correct any discrepancies promptly
I cannot believe this is a Best Western franchise. As a top-tier rewards member I was appalled by pretty much everything from the location (homeless/questionable people right outside the fence line) to the room condition (I'll attach photos but even ants in the bed). Breakfast was basic. I will say, the staff was very nice and friendly. I will be writing Best Western personally to let them know how this hotel has singlehandedly negatively impacted my opinion of the entire chain.
This the best hotel since we been moving from hotels to hotels I recommend this hotel if anyone looking for a family room and breakfast is on point free parking and it's gated you feel safe about parking your car anywhere love it close to the freeways
Stayed Sept 2017 as a stop-over on the way north to Seattle. $80 for the night. Gated motel has obviously changed names. Large room, décor rather drab but had the usual amenities. Some dubious characters hanging around inside and outside the property! Handy for the Greyhound bus terminal.
ou can do better. It's grimy. In a bad area. So many homeless people on the street and even a prostitute right outside. Jose on reception was a grumpy bugger. The rubber curtains in the room had unnerving brown stains. The cockroaches in the bathroom, lying motionless, were probably tired of the relentless noise of passers-by. You can do better. Stay away.
Listed as non-smoking, smells heavily of smoke! Changed room that was better, but the room below us people were smoking cigars. Permanent residents were smoking. Homeless people abound. Beds were comfortable, but we booked an upgraded room that we did not receive. Plows nice, room clean. Hot tub, luke warm at best. Not at all what we would expect from the website. Won't be back, suggest you try elsewhere. Best Western? too bad, reputation diminished.
We visited Sacramento for a short stay. We stayed one night only this time, but we'll be back soon for a five or six night stay. We stayed in a room on the first floor. Plenty of free parking, spacious room, very comfortable king sized bed. Priced right, refrigerator, microwave, TV. Close to many restaurants. Great and helpful staff—Roberta was very pleasant and congenial, Excellent complimentary breakfast with a wide selection of foods. Very tasty. You will be amazed when you stay at SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western at 350 Bercut Drive. Contact them on Bercut Drive for your next stay in Sacramento. You'll be amazed as I was with this gem of a hotel.
Nice clean spacious 2 queen bed room with large balcony. Free breakfast in the morning with nice food options. Friendly staff that went above and beyond to make my stay great! Pool looked nice although I didn't get a chance to get in! Hot tub as well!
This motel is positioned as a budget motel and the price is very good compared to others in the area, so my 5 stars refers to value for the money. From the outside (and even walking to your room), it looks a bit it's age - but don't be discouraged. The owners have invested where it matters. The rooms are newly renovated and very nice for this motel class - clean, functional, refrigerator, microwave, new carpet, new furniture, new toilet, new bath tiles, etc. Very clean. Service was friendly and efficient when we checked in. Breakfast was above average for this motel class. For example, I appreciated the attention to the hash brown potatoes nicely spiced with rosemary. Bottom line - I'd stay here again without hesitation. Don't let some of those negative reviews deter you.
My boyfriend and I traveled to Sacramento from Vallejo to stay a few nights to celebrate our birthdays. From check in to check out and everything in between the staff was friendly and helpful. It's super clean which is a must for me. Not to mention, the breakfast was delicious. It wasn't your typical oatmeal and toast that most hotels provide. I recommend SureStay and will most definitely stay with them again.
Prior to reserving a room, I read a number of the posted reviews. I knew the hotel was in a bad part of town and that there were a lot of homeless people all around the property. I read that the parking lot was very dirty and I read mixed reviews on the rooms. I read that the parking lot gate is closed at night and there is a security guard on duty, so I was not concerned about the exterior. I reserved a "garden view" room, which costs more than their normal room, as I was hoping to have a quieter room by doing so. While checking in, I looked around for the garden area and saw none. I asked the receptionist where their garden area was. I was told they did not have a garden area. I told them I paid extra for a garden view. I was then told that my room overlooked a patch of lawn. When I got to my room, I immediately looked out the window. There was a narrow patch of semi-dried up lawn up against a fence that had dead and dying vines on it. As I was on the second floor, I had a clear view of what was beyond the fence. I was directly across from a major freeway and a very busy freeway off ramp! So much for quiet. The hallway leading to my room was filthy, with lots of trash literally accumulated along the sides of the walkway. It took nearly a dozen attempts before my room key would work. Even when the light on the door lock turned green, many times the door would not unlock. Upon entering the room, I found it to be very dark and dingy. The blackout curtain was pulled closed, as there was no sheer curtain behind the blackout curtain, thus when the blackout curtain was opened, all the cars coming down the offramp could look directly into my room. The carpet had not been vacuumed, as there were bits of paper and other things on the floor; it also was stained. The built-in wall cabinet was wood-stained. It definitely had seen better days. the stain was majorly scratched off all over the place. The sink area had bulbs burned out. It was dark enough that I had trouble seeing to shave. The bathtub had pubic hair in it (I had to clean the tub before I would use it), the chrome shower fixture had rust spots all over it, and the tub drain plug was missing. They advertise a tub, but you cannot use it. There was a second sink over what looked like it was supposed to be a wet bar. The mirror over that area was sigificanly damaged right in the middle of the mirror. There was a hole in the ceiling for attic access. The hole was covered by a piece of unpainted plywood. The rest of the room, while painted, definitely needed fresh paint. The fabric on the chair and ottoman did not match. Still, I overlooked all this and decided to try to suffer through one night. I had immediately cancelled the remaining nights. The next morning I received the worst possible surprise. I had been packing up to leave and I pushed open the blackout curtains. I then went over and sat on the edge of the bed. The bed, as many hotels do, did not have a bedspread. Instead, they place a 2-foot wide strip of fabric along the foot of the bed, to simulate a bedspread having been folded at the foot of the bed. As I sat there, I looked down onto this fabric strip. To my horror, I saw loose food crumbs on the fabric, which I easily moved around with my finger. This could only mean one thing... I had spent the night sleeping on dirty, previously used bed sheets!!! There is no way that fabric could have been removed off the bed and the sheets changed without those crumbs falling off onto the floor. Needless to say, I was both disgusted and livid. And, to add insult to injury, I now have a number of bug bites on my arms and legs. This filthy room is the only place where I could have gotten all these bites, especially on my legs, as I never wear short pants during the day. I observed no mosquitos in the room either. When I went down to cancel my remaining nights, I got to speaking with the staff. I believe I found out why this hotel is sooooo bad. It seems that the franchise owner does not treat his staff well, to the point of possible labor violations. The resulting low morale may be part of the reason why the room was the way it was... the employees have no incentive to do good work for such an owner. And it is obvious all the owner cares about is how much profit he can make. He is counting on an endless stream of new customers to fill his wallet and who replace all us dissatisfied customers who will never return, not caring about what they think of how he runs his hotel. Best Western used to have decent quality hotels. Based on this experience, I will NEVER book at a Sure Stay Plus Hotel (or any other Best Western hotel) again, as they obviously do not police their properties and therefore they certainly do not exercise any quality control.
Meisha at the front desk was the best! Meisha was so nice amd helped expedite an early check-in and very helpful with our two Frenchie's! Rooms are very clean and the continental breakfast was good also!
Front desk attendant named Jose told me he was doing me a favor by half-assing me and my family's check in. I understand last minute/late night check ins can be a headache but he's rude and unprofessional
This hotel was a good value at less than $85. The neighborhood was a little rough looking, but the hotel itself was gated with a security guard posted. Rooms were updated and clean. Pool was operating and full of guests. Breakfast had good variety. Easy access to I-5 and close to Old Sacramento and downtown areas
This is a older motel style hotel in a part of town that is a little rougher than I like to visit. Not a far distance to a few good restaurants. Went to the Chevron store across the street and found they had the beer coolers locked full time. Hmmm. Comfortable beds, though and clean.
We were greated by a sweet woman named Meisha. She was polite and courteous and made us feel welcomed to the hotel. The continental breakfast was pleantiful. Big selection of food from cereal,to eggs and sausage, bagels, pastries and juice. The room itself was spacious with comfortable beds and bedding. The cleaning staff was always willing to get us more linen whenever we asked. Lots of amenities that will make your stay as comfortable as possible. Thanks again sure stay we will come back again.
This was a great stay for me! Guest service at the desk was exceptional from Meisha the room was clean pool was clean hot tub clean I enjoyed stay at your hotel thank you all for the great experience! Meisha at the front desk especially check in was fast easy and check out was kind and smooth! Overall great clean place to stay in Sacramento considering the area! Thank you again
So I'm thinking the wide difference in reviews of this disaster hotel must depend on which building they stick you in. I happened to be placed on the second floor facing the back of the hotel. There is this totally bizarre, mostly enclosed, outside corridor on the back of the building you walk through to get to your room. It's completely enclosed except for a few sliding windows to let some air and light in. It looked like a dungeon, and you could almost feel the dirt as you walked through it, knowing full well it hadn't seen any water in it to wash the dirt away in decades. Upon entering the room, the feeling of being in the middle of filth continued --- see attached photos. The curtains were rubber and completely disgusting. There were large stains on the carpet. The dirt on the vents of the AC/heat unit was gross --- keep in mind that the unit is sucking in air from the above mentioned mostly enclosed dirty corridor too (double whammy). The hair dryer clearly hadn't been cleaned since the last person used it, as large brown caked on stains of something were still on it. And the shower was set to smurf height --- I'm slightly over 6 feet tall, and the showerhead hit my nose. I also got the feeling that people might be living there --- there were a hell of a lot of cars there when I left in the morning on a weekday, which is a rarity for most hotels where people usually leave early. Some hotels should just be knocked down and rebuilt; this is one of them. How Best Western put their name on this mess is anyone's guess.
Overall this place rocks. Service was great from all staff. The room was hugh and even had a balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was also good thought we would just have cereal, but to my surprise they had eggs sausage and potatoes, yogurt and much more. Only negative lots of homelessness in this area. We will back next year!
After reading the reviews i was a lil worried but when i got there staff was super friendly there was a few homeless people on the street but not on the property check in was quick beds were soft and breakfast was amazing kids enjoyed the pool def will stay here again!
This place is great! At first thought for the price that it was going to be a dump, however the rooms was spacious and clean. The bathroom was a little out dated, but I think they are in the middle of a renovation. There were homeless people near the hotel, so I don't think the area is the no the best. The service for the staff was great, oh it even included a full hot breakfast! Will be back the next time we attend a concert at Golden 1 Area.
Won't stay here again, didnt feel safe, cigarette buds everywhere, dirty, homeless walking around outside of property. Bathtub looks like 1980's style. Bed was comfy, only good thing. Outside area filthy. Needs a major up grade, and clean up grounds.
I stayed here with my wife and son on a last-minute overnight getaway to Sacramento. We got a great rate ($85 for double queen with balcony) and for the price, it would be hard to do better. So I will preface this review by saying you can't expect 5-star amenities and luxury at a 2-star price. You can't pay $100/night for a room and get upset when the room isn't recently remodeled or doesn't have high-speed wi-fi in the room. But if you want a clean room with a comfortable bed, a full hot breakfast, and close proximity to Old Town and Downtown Sacramento, this is a great place. So the exterior. Yes, there are homeless people in the neighborhood. But to be honest, homeless people are generally too busy just trying to get through life. They don't have the interest, time, or energy to spend any time bothering us. I live in Berkeley/Oakland, where "tent cities" are becoming WAY too prevalent. So the homeless here didn't bother us at all. And again, when you are paying less than $100/night for your room, you aren't going to be in a "cute neighborhood with lots of trendy restaurants and cute shops that you can walk to". If you want that, book a room at hotel in downtown and be prepared to spend $200+/night. That said, we never felt unsafe while on the hotel grounds and never felt concerned about safety in our room. My main bone to pick with this hotel is that when we checked in and asked about the hours of the pool and hot tub, we were told the hot tub was not working. That was the main reason I chose this hotel over its nearby competition! I was really annoyed that there was NO mention of this on the hotel's website or in the confirmation they sent us. General Manager, if you are reading this: let people know when advertised amenities are not available. That issue aside, the check in process went smoothly and the staff was very friendly. They even asked us if we wanted a room on the first or second floor. We booked a room with a patio/balcony that faced the pool. The room was spacious, it was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom had plenty of really HOT water. The toilet and shower were in the "bathroom" and the sink was set outside of that, which was really convenient for a family. The pool was relatively large and the hot tub looked like it would've been very nice (IF it had been working). Our room looked out onto the pool and was very quiet. We had no trouble sleeping. The air conditioner/heater worked well and the balcony door had a screen to allow us to enjoy the cool night breeze if we wanted. The breakfast was great. The hot options included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, sausage links, and hash browns. There was also yogurt, three different kinds of dry cereal, sliced bread, english muffins, and other basic pastries. There were 3-4 different fruit juices, coffee, milk, and tea. There was a toaster and a microwave (so even if the eggs and sausage weren't as hot as you like them, you could heat them up in the microwave). All of this was included in the price of the room. Most other hotels I saw in this price range only advertised a "continental breakfast". So with all of these positives, the hotel missed on a few of the "little things" that separate nice places from great places. The towel bar in the bathroom was bent and loose against the wall. The flush on the toilet was really weak; so much so that we had to ask the front desk to send someone up with a plunger. The positive is that a maintenance person was at our door within 10 minutes. The "little thing" they missed on was that after he was done, he left water on the bathroom floor that had been dirtied by his work boots. Luckily we had already taken showers and were checking out that day. The pool was nice, but there were 2 large piles of leaves at the bottom of the pool, which made me think they hadn't cleaned it in a few days. Additionally, the skimming net they had at the pool for skimming leaves off the top of the water had rips and large holes, so it wasn't very effective. The balcony on our room was pretty big and overlooked the pool and would've been nice to sit on while enjoying a glass of wine. BUT, there was no furniture for us to sit on and there was only a little round side table. Not a big deal, but another little detail that kept the hotel from being a "great" place to stay. For the price we paid, this hotel fit the bill and we would definitely stay here again, especially if the hot tub is working (I will call and ask before I book again).
Even though it was for one night, my sister and I would like to say, thank you for a pleasant stay the next time we come through we will do our best to stay there. Again thank you for the hospitality. One more thing the breakfast was fantastic.
We had a reservation for a disabled room. When we got there they said there were none available but you could check this regular one out. Going to the room (outside doors)we found a sketchy alleys we got to the room whitch looked much nicer than we expected. Anyway we checked actors the street Ann's found a much nicer place.
My Perspective I was moving through Sacramento quickly and needed to stay for 1 night and day. The staff were incredible and amazing with great care and consideration. One does not always need luxury to give 5 full star. This place was NOT luxurious BUT ALL the staff were high 5 ??, high caliber, excellent and very thoughtful. Best travelers morning breakfast EVER! I'll be staying here annually when visiting my dad with my two boys
My family and I were traveling to Sacramento for my mother's funeral. We booked this property for our five day stay due to its proximity to the cemetery and to other family. Though the property is billed as smoke free, our room had a strong odor of stale cigarette smoke. The carpet was pulling up at several spots of the room. The same carpet had remnants of confetti and glitter, which we spent some time picking out, since we were traveling with a toddler and I didn't want her to get into anything like that. The baseboards throughout the room were rotting. The heater in the bathroom did not work. The linens smelled of smoke. The faucet in the living area sprayed water all over us and the surrounding area. Once the faucet was pulled on, it wouldn't turn off and my sons had to work to get it turned off. Previous reviews spoke of the broken faucet. Though there were five of us in the room, the bathroom only had two towels. The window sills in the room were dirty and covered in filth. The cushions of the sofa had white stains splashed across them. The final straw came in the morning when there was no hot water. I went to the front desk to cancel the remainder of our reservation. The front desk clerk apologized and said the manager has just stepped away, but she felt he would refund the remaining balance of our stay. As we were speaking, another agent overheard and said the maintenance guy said the pilot light had gone out the day before. I said we were packing and I would be back to speak with the manager. Upon my return, I was told the manager had again stepped out and would only refund a portion of my purchase, as now the hot water was working. I said that was not the only reason for our departure and reiterated my other complaints. I asked her to have the manage to call me, which he has yet to do. I will be attempting to reach BestWestern for the refund of the remainder of my money. While I do understand the remodel of this property is ongoing, I would suggest this particular room is uninhabitable until such time as the remodel is complete. I am flabbergasted that this room was available for anyone's use.
I have stayed in Best Western hotels all over the country. (I am a Rewards customer.) BW Sure Stay Sacramento is the worst quality hotel of all the BW hotels I have ever stayed at. The grounds are dirty, the parking lot is in bad repair (has potholes all over it) and it needs a security fence and gate (which locks at 6pm) implying that the area that the hotel is in is a dangerous one. The room had only one desk chair, no luggage rack and the breakfast nook didn't even have trays. Breakfast closed down at 9am, the earliest of any BW I stayed at. I felt deceived by the BW reservations clerk when I made this reservation. The price was cheaper than usual, but even at the price I have stayed at better non-BW hotels,
Staff was very friendly. Comfortable beds and pillows. Nice clean quiet rooms. Great breakfast! Very quiet and safe at night. I actually switched to this hotel from an extended stay because of noise and was very happy with my decision. Will definitely stay here again.
I recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel in the “Capital Room” which is an large end unit with two queen beds, sofa in sitting area, and extended length balcony. I am an Elite member of Best Western rewards as well as a Gold member of hotels.com. The room was only $100 per night when I booked through hotels.com and most likely is the same when booking direct. I got what I paid for. This location was recently branded a Best Western so it has the outer appearance of a budget motel while the insides have been updated to the modern Best Western carpet and furniture. Still, the restroom was left neglected like I stepped in Pamela Voorhees 1982 bathroom. The towels were very motel 6 feeling. The couch and chairs need updating as does the broken minibar sink handle in the room. The light over the mini bar area also didn't work. The area is just a mile north of downtown and Old Sacramento so its very convenient and away from the traffic, but does have some questionable people hanging around. This is the first hotel I've stayed at that had a key code access gated parking lot. This is safe but can be a hassle if you use UberEats. Chevron, McDonalds, and Denny's on the corner. Overall, I loved the large room and balcony and would return again. In time, this location will only improve as I mentioned it hasn't been a Best Western very long. The Best Western Sandman motel is further down the road and a bit more expensive for a similar room.
I have to say that this has been an awesome hotel experience. I will definitely keep using them! The General Manager James as been very helpful and has made business trips easy and comfortable. The rooms are very comfortable and welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel to others!
We stayed there last week for one night. The check in process was friendly and efficient despite the late hour. The room seemed to have been renovated and was very clean. The beds were comfortable but the unit needed a little work in the plumbing department. The sink and toilet backed up and drained slowly and the sink water control valve had a lot of play in it so that it was very difficult to dial in the right water temperature. The motel is close to the freeway. Access to the property was by a gate controlled by the desk clerk. This led me to wonder about the neighborhood that it needed to be fenced off. Finally, a $100 refundable deposit was charged at registration, leading me to suspect that the clientele either did not pay as required or damage to the rooms happened more frequently than desired. This motel was a second choice as all my first choices were full. If I had known in advance the particulars of this motel and had other choices, I would not have booked here. To be fair, we had a decent night's sleep despite the thumping coming from the unit above us and the price paid was very economical. A mixed review for sure...
Worst hotel experience ever. It is NOT NON-SMOKING-- they even have a designated smoking area and everyone stands around the doors smoking. Receptionist didn't bother to look up or say "hi" when I walked in, or even acknowledge me at all. After standing there for about 30 seconds she finally said, without even looking at me, "ID." They also charged a $100 deposit after telling me TWICE that they would not. And why would they need a deposit? The place is a s---hole. The curtains were cut-- looks like by a knife-- and are some sort of dirty plastic/rubber material. The toilet barely flushes. You could piss all over the floor and it would only improve this POS hotel. It's telling that they have gates to lock guests in or other people out. NEVER AGAIN.
Made me feel special, this is a great place to stay, I'm waiting for my apartment so this is my home for now. When I got here my regular room wasn't ready yet so they put me in a bigger room with a pool view at no extra charge. The staff at the front desk and the management has gone out of their way to juggle the rooms so I don't have to keep moving. It's well maintained and clean. And they have a great hot breakfast every morning. They have free internet that never went down. they also have a gate around the hotel that you need a code to open at night that make you feel extra safe.
Dymeisha at the hotel front desk is exceptional she's professional and very helpful.this is a great place to stay if you have children and inexpensive I've enjoyed my stay if ever again need a place to stay it most definitely will be here Thank you Mercedes Room 251
This is an EXCELLENT place to stay. I needed a place thats comfortable close to freeway and food. Maid service is GREAT!??????The staff is so nice and professional. And the onsite Manager assisted me and accommodated me on all my request. I recommend ANYONE to stay here. 5star service!!!
I stayed one night wednsday. I was surprised how clean and nice the room was.The front desk was excellent. Breakfast in the morning at 6a was good. Eggs, sausage, hashbrown, along with juice/coffee. I was plesently pleased. Better than a 2.5, easly a 2.9. The location was in a downtown metro area so lots of homeless outside of the area but not at the hotel area. I felt safe. Thumbs up.
Really enjoyed myself the staff and security is very helpful and propt my room was very clean and I felt very safe staying here for my 8 day vacation/birthday get away from February 9th thru the 17th thank you so much Mr Fitzgerald and Miesha for checking me in and also making my stay enjoyable and I absolutely loved the poolside view I will definitely be staying here again also shout out to the housekeepers for doing an immaculate job on my room and for their services during my stay I will be returning soon sincerely Shemeka Ensley
Excellent stay. All of the staff are very friendly and accomidating. Rooms are clean. Excellent cable tv selections with premium channels. Beautiful pool area. The price is very fair. Great central location.
Big room, comfy bed & pillows! Fridge, microwave, iron & board, clean bathroom, lots of choices included with breakfast, and a friendly staff made for a very nice stay. Great motel for a great price! Would definitely come back!
If you are there for just a short stay or long term, it is a excellent deal. The price and amenities are better than all the other hotels that I have stayed in the same area. Management and staff are superb!
After reading other reviews, I booked here with some trepidation. To my surprise, the facility was much better than I expected. I will stay here again. This motel is still pretty new as a Best Western franchise, so I suspect earlier reviews were based on the pre-remodel rooms. The structure is an older building, but the two rooms I saw were definitely among the best I have ever found at a budget motel. The floor is vinyl wood-look planks, certainly an improvement over the questionably clean carpet in many motels. The room was spacious and had a patio. My room faced the pool and spa, a nice area. The facility's exterior and parking lot don't seem to have been upgraded like the interiors so it doesn't show a top first impression. In-room amenities include a decent-sized flat-screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board with iron, and hair dryer. A definite plus is that the desk lamp and both nightstand lamps have two electrical outlets plus a USB charging port (although my charger plugged into an AC outlet worked better). The one thing missing -- which seems to be a trend in motels these days -- was a bedside clock. The hot breakfast included was what lured me to this facility. The breakfast lived up to its promotion: scrambled eggs (properly cooked and fluffy), sausage, roasted potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, cold cereal, pastries, fruit, coffee, juice. That saved me $10 a day over going to the Denny's next door. The one downside, which another reviewer noted, is the homeless people camped under the nearby freeway underpass. Sacramento has a serious homeless problem, so it didn't seem worse near the SureStay than elsewhere in town that I've stayed. The motel is fenced and has locked access from dusk to dawn (motel guests have an access code for the gate). The location is convenient to downtown, the airport and the Sacramento freeway system. All in all, it's a great value and I will stay here again.
The location is good, and service staff is pretty ok as well. However, this motel is no longer in a good enough condition, the room should be renovated, and the bed exchanged! I will not recommend a stay here.
Room was clean but there are lots of homeless people around in the neighborhood. Hotel has gates but doesn't close them... anyone can get in. Saw cars get in, park for little while and then left. The hotel phone would ring suddenly at weird times at night. Needless to say, didn't enjoy my stay. Would not recommend.
Had reservations for a King Deluxe room and was told that the King Deluxe was no longer available. Was given a Double Queen Deluxe room. The TV did not work for the whole time for my stay. My feet turned black after walking on the floor. I had to wear my flip flops around the room to keep my feet cleaned. I told the person at the time of checkout about the issues and gave me no response. Location the Hub Hotel, Sacramento CA at the Bercut Location.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say I liked this hotel. Maybe it's because I'd spent the day bicycle touring, and - being covered in crud - really needed a hot shower followed by a dip in the swimming pool. Or heck, really appreciated a ground-floor room where I could wheel in my bike and not feel like I needed to squeeze past it at every turn. At any rate, I read the reviews and knew what I was in for. And thankfully, The Hub delivered. Things worth knowing: - I prepaid for the reservation on Priceline. $65 for a Saturday night in summer is an unbeatable price, especially as I had just booked the evening before. When we arrived at the hotel, they were turning away callers because the hotel was by then totally full. So it sounds like paying ahead of time is the way to go. - The deluxe rooms are modern, clean and very roomy. The air-conditioner did its job and kept the place cool during an 85 degree evening - The neighborhood around the hotel is not worth your while. If you don't have a car or Lyft/Uber account, stay in town. Old Town and Midtown are good choices if you'd prefer to stick to walking, albeit with more expensive hotels. That said, a Lyft ride from the hotel to downtown cost us $5, so in all we saved money Overall, the front desk staff seemed a little on edge, but they did their job. And gosh, that swimming pool felt great after a long day in the saddle.
This hotel didn't have my room ready at check in, the lady at the front was very rude & when I asked to get a refund for the lack of respect there was a huge conflict. I was also told I would get a call when room was ready and did not. But at the end I was not charged at all but I HIGHLY do not recommend this HOTEL. The Hub.
