This was a last minute stay and we were completely satisfied. The counter staff was very accommodating. Room a little dated but clean and comfortable. Supper offered with a discount at nearby restaurant. Friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast was extraordinary. Would return if in the area
We travel with pets and this motel is pet friendly. Most rooms have an outside entrance with parking by door which is our preference. Easy to unload, no stairs and we can watch the car. Our room was nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. We have stayed here before and will do so the next time we pass by. The restaurant offers a variety of choices; it can get pretty busy. We ordered off the menu rather than the buffet. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of hot and cold food.
Such a well-maintained property and everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and polite. We look forward to staying here again and the next time we pass this way. Love being able to park right in front of our room also
Oil field workers meant more to employees than us seniors it was quite obviouss because of the way we were treated when we spoke on the subjects
BEDBUGS. The management was unresponsive and wouldn't comp our room. We've since found a bedbug alert website and this motel is listed. A week earlier we stayed at the Hampton Inn and it was just as nice, so I'd recommend staying there if you're in Pecos.
I would absolutely come back and stay here. It's cute, clean and the on-site restaurant has wonderful food!! I brought my dog and check in was easy. There is grass by the pool to walk your dog. The restaurant has a bar and patio which was busy and people were enjoying it. The bed was comfortable.
If you travel as much as I do you get used to the fact that all hotels are the same. This one is not "the same." Swiss Clock has plenty of amenities, good food on site, a bar, a pool, a good gym. Plus it is single-story so no one is stomping around over head.
This is the best place to stay in Pecos !!! We visited Pecos to visit our sons !! The location and accessibility is perfect ! We were able to park right in front our room, no traveling down a hall or an elevator with your luggage to ur room! The details in are room were so nice, the bed was super comfy and the staff made sure we had enough towels throughout our stay. Joel was so sweet and kind and made sure we were right at home. The swimming pool was clean and there were also cute pic nic tables to sit on and were decorated with lights above. We had to go next door to the Swiss chalet for breakfast, and the breakfast staff was not as friendly, other than that we will definitely return to this hotel ! Good job Best Western Clock Inn!
The staff were very warm and inviting. Great choice with a restaurant that serves amazing food, and a bar at the premises so you don't have to risk drinking and driving. Safe for everyone with great amenities.
We have stayed at this inn several times and have always had a great experience. The Inn is older but in excellent condition and having a restaurant on the property is a big plus. It has a nice pool area, BBQs, picnic tables and shade trees.
The whole team was amazing! Taryn at the front desk helped us right from the beginning and it set the tone for the rest of the week. I wish that I could remember everyone's name as they were fantastic as well. I travel a lot with my job and this was the hardest working housekeeping team that I have ever seen.
This hotel is the best place to stay in Pecos, TX!!! Everyone is this hotel will treat you like family. The breakfast is amazing! The rooms are so cute and comfortable. With the cutest details. The bar and lounge will keep you going all day and night. We were ready to book another night I'd we didn't have to work the next time!
Pictures on website are accurate. The entire hotel is one level, no dragging luggage upstairs! Location was great, easy on/off access to major highways (20/17/285). We had the two queen bedroom, which was a comfortable sized room. There is a full restaurant on site which serves the hotel's complimentary full breakfast buffet for quests. The buffet had everything you could want including fresh fruit and delicious pastries. For only $2 you could add an omelet to the more than ample selections. For the weary traveler or a visitor to Pecos this hotel has everything you need for a long or short stay: a large pool, relaxing patio, fitness room, and a laundry room and a restaurant right on site. To top all this you have a staff which shows southern hospitality and gives you a big Texas smile while offering you great service! Sorry, to say ours was an overnight stay so we couldn't stay longer but if I ever go back to Texas this will be the place for me even if I have to commute from Pecos. We travelled from California to Mississippi, this hotel offered the best lodgings and food of the entire trip.
We travel across the country at least twice a year with our two large dogs. Our stay at the Swiss Clock Inn in Longview is always one of the highlights of our trip. The property is beautiful with rooms around a central restaurant (Alpine Lodge), pool and beautiful grounds with mature plantings. The ready availability of the restaurant on the property is convenient and a relief after a long day of driving, and the 10% discount for hotel guests is an added benefit. There is a lovely patio at the restaurant overlooking the pool and grounds which provides a delightful respite after a long day. The food at the Alpine Lodge is excellent, and, while BW always provides a good breakfast, breakfast here is amazing with a wide variety of fresh, delicious choices. We look forward to each stay at the Swiss Clock Inn.
Ice location just off of the freeway. There is construction on the frontage road so you must pay attention to the roadway closures. Friendly front desk staff at check-in. Room was clean and comfortable. Several resi nearby. Good value.
We stayed twice, one week apart. Our first night there was great. Lady at front desk was so nice and helpful. Very informative too as one should be checking ppl in. They are a non smoking property however they let people smoke right outside of their rooms so if you have someone on each side of you that smoke, smoke will enter your room if you have window or door open. You also walk right into it when you enter/leave your room so that is not good or healthy. Very disappointing but this is becoming common at exterior type hotels, unfortunately. Otherwise our room was pretty clean, comfortable. Dinner in their restaurant was excellent both nights we stayed but breakfast - lets say we will be skipping it for now on. Food at breakfast is old, stell and coffee is watery both times. I wish it wasn't but oh well. Staff at restaurant - some friendly and professional, some down right rude and shouldn't be working in that position. Second night I decided to book an ADA room since it was available and to have a little more space for my daughter who is in a wheelchair. We just had a regular room our first night there which we made work. I prefer non ADA showers. :) First of all, there is no disabled parking spots in front of ADA room so couldn't park anywhere to get my daughter out and to the room in her wheelchair. We parked a ways down where I could get her out strolled her down to the room. When I opened the door to the room there was a weird odd smell that wasn't pleasant coming from it so I kept her outside while I went in. It looked really old and worn down. There were bugs all over the ceiling too and didn't look very clean there was no way I could stay there. I went back to the front desk and told them that we can't stay in this room and why. Lady agreed and put us in a regular room which was fine. Parking was easier on that side as there were more spots available but still no disabled parking spots but it was a regular room, not an ADA room so can't expect disabled parking spots anyway. Room was semi clean and it worked for us. Our first night room there was in better condition than this room we were in for our second night. It was comfortable for one night.Oh housekeeping will constanting knock on your door starting at 745am wanting to enter to clean despite you having until 11am to check out. They knocked, opened the door 4 times that morning (same lady) and they knew we were still there. That was not cool! There was no (do not disturb sign to put up). I think the next time we stay we will stay in the other BW next door (same owner) and try it - see what our experience is like. But none the less we will stay in the BW next door (same owner) when passing through as its a perfect spot to end a days drive before starting next day drive. :) Staff is nice. Its a great little hotel to stay at for driving through.
Excellent place. Friendly, professional staff which give a warm welcome upon arrival. Very informative and make sure you have everything you need and accommodating. Breakfast that is included in their restaurant is horrible, but lunch and dinner there is excellent. The rooms are very outdated, old, and have a weird smell but otherwise pretty clean. Location is excellent and Pecos is a neat little town.
Easy on and off I-20. Very clean hotel that is in the 50's style motel where you park right in front of your room. Super efficient way to load and unload. Grass was bur-free which if you're traveling with your dog in west Texas is a bonus. My room had new furniture, big tv, comfortable bed, and the hvac worked well. Yes there were a lot of workers staying but as a single woman, I felt safe.
This is a solid option if you find yourself in Pecos. The hotel does cater to the oil workers in the area so there are long term residents mixed in. Staff was nice and the room was clean. Everything worked great.
You have to try the restaurant at this hotel. The good surpasses your expectations. The pool is awesome. The staff were the nicest people by far in the area. I've lived in Pecos in the past and my biggest complaint would be that most service employees are RUDE
Nice hotel. Used our points so it was FREE!! Quiet location with all we needed for a nice stay. Husband enjoyed the breaKfast. Nothing else to say. I don't see the point in writing 1200 words!! Good location and easy to find.
The room and bathroom was clean, but it could have used a bit more detail in vacuuming. Provide a very good breakfast and I also got a 10% discount for the restaurant. The food was very good. The hotel is immediately adjacent to the Interstate and it was noisy outside, however, inside I barely noticed the road noise at all, and I was in the room closest the interstate. Nice area to walk my dog. The area was very safe. The bed was very comfortable.
If you are on I-20 near Pecos, TX. this is a property worth stopping at for the evening. From the very friendly staff (Daisy and Veronica in particular) when you check in to the quiet, spacious, comfortable and very clean rooms this has been and always will be my choice when I need a place to recharge in West Texas. The Alpine Inn Restaurant located on the property has great comfort food and an outside bar/patio to relax. I highly recommend you stop and stay. You will not be sorry. They are very pet friendly !!!!!!!
Staff were super pleasant to interact with, both over the phone and in person when I showed up around midnight. Would look forward to staying at this location again if in the area. Didn't have a chance to check many of the amenities, but the bed was comfortable and the AC worked, and that's all I need!
This hotel exceeded our expectations for a quick overnight stay while traveling. We were unsure what to expect as we booked the room sight unseen while driving. The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. There is a restaurant the property which gives you a 10% discount for dinner and free breakfast either from their buffet or menu. Overall great experience, highly recommend for anyone needing to stay while in the area or traveling through.
I stayed at Best Western Swiss Clock Inn during my visit to Pecos. I loved the atmosphere and all the pictures from Switzerland. All your pictures of the country brought back great memories of my trip to the country.
BW Swiss Clock Inn is a very good deal. Rooms are smaller and older but beautifully redone and maintained. Restaurant serves great food at reasonable prices. Alcohol available. This is a great place to stay in the Pecos area.
We stayed while traveling to move to Texas. We had a moving Truck and car trailer. We were able to fund a good place to park easily. Check in was fast, room was clean, bed was comfy, and free quality breakfast in the morning was convenient and got us back in the road quickly.
We loved that it was a single story hotel so we could park right in front of our room! It was an older property but well maintained. GREAT restaurant and indoor/outdoor lounge to watch Tv and relax instead of being cooped up in your room.
I found out blood spots on the wall during the morning when we were ready to leave. Also, my daughter cut her hand with a plastic that it was at the door it was small but sharp. Unfortunately, we didn't notice the blood before we slept there.
I try to stay at any best western or best western plus any where we travel. Clean hotels, friendly stuff, great breakfast, quick check in and check out, and i love the rewards program. Definitely recommend it
The outside of the building was very quaint and inviting. Our room was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. They also had an excellent breakfast. On a 15 day trip this was one of the better Best Westerns that we stayed in.
Needing a resting stop during a two day drive to Texas this was a very easy off/on location. Always prefer a Best Western and was happy they could accommodate me in Pesco. Clean amenities, nicely decorated, comfortable bed and a TV w a sleep timer which I love! Rooms were easily accessible and check in/out was a breeze. The included breakfast was delicious!
It was late when we arrived and we were pleasantly surprised by the exterior cuteness of the place. Then we entered into a very clean foyer where a very nice person greeted us and explained our breakfast options and where our room was. We drove around to the room where we parked right in front of it. The room was very clean and smelled refreshing. The bed was comfortable and the shower felt wonderful. In the morning, we took our voucher card to the restaurant next to it and had a very nice buffet style hot breakfast. All Covid guidelines were followed. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
It was great to have a restaurant on-site. The room was comfortable. The only issue was that the beds were much smaller than queen size. Luckily I could share a bed with my 4 year old and my husband had the other bed to himself. It would be very difficult for 2 adults to share a bed.
We make the reservation directly with the hotel and the rate was very similar with the one of Hotels.com. We spend the night on another hotel chain in las Cruces, and the cleanliness was awful. We were surprised and happy after we got into our room at the Best Western hotel.
This motel expressly refused to abide by posted Best Western guidelines for Covid-19 safety. Staff would not wear masks when I asked them to do so and they allowed other guests to enter communal spaces without wearing masks. This made me doubt that they followed any of Best Western's guidance for making my room safe.
I've stayed at this motel twice for work purposes. The rooms are clean and the parking is really convenient. Though I didn't use the pool either time, it looked nice too. The first time was pre-COVID and we ate breakfast in the morning. It was sit-down style but we got the buffet. It had WAY more options than a typical Best Western. I remember the fruit bar being particularly good. The second time was Post-COVID and they offered a grab-n-go breakfast wherein you ordered what you wanted prior to 3am (so we did it at check-in). There were 3 options, I got the breakfast tacos. They were ready about 5-10 mins prior to our requested pickup time, which was awesome, and were hot and fresh, made with quality ingredients. It was a real help to be able to just take the food on the road. I will choose this hotel anytime I need to stay in Pecos.
When we arrived our first thought was that the Swiss Clock Inn is an old motel and we were concerned that the rooms would be from a bygone age. We were also concerned that it would be noisy because it faces on to the busy I-20. When we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised to find that it had been thoroughly updated with a modern, comfortable bed. It still retained the sink outside the bathroom layout which meant that the bathroom was very small, but otherwise we were very pleased with the room. Although there was some noise overnight, it was mainly a background hum of traffic that did not disturb our sleep. Early in the morning, some departing guests had cars that were noisy, but that can happen at any hotel. The buffet breakfast in the Alpine Restaurant was very good.
Based upon reviews, and prior experiences, we chose the Best Western in Pecos, TX. Room appeared very clean, well stocked. Pets allowed for $15/night extra. I bring my own pillow and a blanket when sleeping in motels. When turning down the coverlet, I noticed the comforter had whst looked to be a urine stain on its topside. No stain on the underside. Maybe from someone's dog?? The sheets were clean, so I removed the comforter and used my own blanket and pillow. Guess the stain was overlooked by housekeeping, as the coverlet was covering the comforter. Otherwise, everything was ok.
Areli was amazing and helped me overt credit card fraud and an overcharge. The doggie bag was sooo adorable and we are using the items! Who does that? The self-serve breakfast was NOT a continental breakfast, and was delicious next door. Areli, you are amazingly awesome! If I ever come to Pecos, I hope you're there!
We stayed at this hotel because of the on-site restaurant. The food may be good for this (don't know as we didn't eat anywhere else) town, but it certainly is not worth writing about. And, don't order a mixed drink to go with your dinner as it will be 3/4 water and no discernible alcohol. Tiny bathroom, dirty carpets, overpriced
An outstanding hotel and restaurant. A beautiful property. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and will choose it again when I pass through Pecks, TX. Breakfast came with stay and the amount and layout of food was exceptional.
Best western has always treated me with the upmost respect but this Location is far from being comfortable. Checked in and the next morning received a voucher for the breakfast. Cool had planned on going getting breakfast take it back to the room and eat while I'm working at least that was the plan. I was advised I couldn't take my breakfast back to the room. First time I've been told that Always been able to take it to the room and work while eating. So if I wanted to eat I waste 30 minutes eating and not accomplishing any work. Then if I have to somewhere around lunch time good luck on getting a parking space next to your room. The restaurant guest park right in front of the guest rooms. While I brought it up to the manger she advised me the restaurant guest can park wherever and that I could park all the way across the parking lot. Without the oilfield in town it's a lower price but with the oilfield in town almost doubled. I get supply and demand but with all the discomfort not worth it. They could careless about the oilfield if they did they would understand they are not hurting the energy companies they are hurting the man trying to make a living for his family because that's the pocket it comes out of not the companies. But when greed steps in your out of luck
Nice facility with comfortable beds, a lovely pool area surrounded by shade trees, and a very delicious breakfast! The staff is friendly and helpful. Lesa quickly dealt with a problem we encountered. The best feature is the free breakfast provided by the on-site restaurant.
Great room and the food was a huge surprise! Delicious and we are fussy foodies. Good job! The food was homemade and delicious. Room clean and well appointed. We are seasoned travelers and we're pleasantly surprised during our annual trek to our New Mexico summer!
Stayed a night while making a long road trip with our dogs. The hotel is a very pleasant stay with a wonderful relaxing atmosphere in the courtyard and patio bar/restaurant(most liked). Room was large enough for use with the dogs, and equipped with standard amenities. The location is convenient. They are working on some of the rooms. Parking was convenient. Least liked? Nothing that I would be concerned about.
This hotel was great. Right off the highway. Breakfast was amazing great selection of food. Big buffet to choose from. Something for everyone. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If I'm ever driving thru again I will be staying here.
This best western was nice and clean. Good location and easy to get too. Staff very friendly. I would recommend this place to friends and family . Price was reasonable. Not a rowdy place. Also big parking lot in the back for semis
This is an older hotel and is overpriced for the types rooms it offers. The rooms or barely worth 75.00 a night but they are raping people with there prices because the oilfield is booming. I would not recommend comig to this hotel.
Passing through Pecos wife had a vehicle mishap and blew out a tire. I came from El Paso after purchasing a tire for our BMW that could not be purchased in Pecos it was later in the evening and had to find a place to stay for the night and noticed the Best Western since I have had outstanding service and a member of your rewards program.
The receptionist assigned me a smoking room when I had requested a NON smoking room. The room was in the back of the hotel even though the hotel was not full. A new room was assigned but she was not sure if it was smoking or non smoking. We had to go to the room and check it first. The internet connection for a laptop was poor, only two bars and not able to connect, even though I had just transfered from another hotel where the connection with the laptop was easy and fast. The excuses for lack of internet connection and not knowing what rooms where smoking or non smoking were absolutely terrible.
Room was very nice... clean.. chair and ottoman, king bed, lots of bath amenities and fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Full breakfast served at restaurant on property... a very nice buffet with lots of fresh fruit, eggs, meats, potatoes and more. Would definitely stay here again. Very nice property.
I stayed at the Best Western Swiss Clock Inn for a week, and it was probably the best week of my whole job assignment. The motel is perfect! As beautiful as the setting was, it was the staff that really made it a worthwhile place to stay--especially the manager, who is just humble and kind. It's very rare to find a motel with phenomenal customer service! I will absolutely stay again, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Pecos, Texas.
The hotel was clean, staff friendly. The only thing that took away from making this an excellent experience was something that is becoming more common place in hotels. The cleaning products that are used to clean the rooms are so heavily scented it permeates everything in the room. This might not bother most---but I am extremely sensitive to fragrance and chemicals. It would be great if hotels used fragrance free products that are environmentally friendly and do not leave unwanted fragrance. Everyone should watch the documentary called "Stink" which is an eye opener. These are so many neutral things that can be used to clean such as baking soda, vinegar and water etc. All the sheets, towels, bedding etc. are loaded with fragrance.
Loved this place. It feels more like a resort than a motel. Checked in and went straight to the bar(ol Barry's Surf club) lol. It was excellent!! Then had dinner there too. Work out room is top notch. Thanks to housekeeping for a job well done. Oh and free laundry. The only negative is the rates in Pecos are high due to oil activity.
this hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in . this hotel room cost $310.00 for one night. this hotel is a rip off.do not stay at this hotel .I used to stay at this hotel all the time. I wish I could say something nice about this hotel but I cant
Last time I was in Pecos for work, I stayed at a place on HWY 285. The rooms were not anywhere like the website and for over $200 a night I should have had a room without a busted door. Now the Best Western Swiss Clock Inn.... When I received the reservation confirmation from my work, i googled this hotel. I was impressed with the reviews. When I arrived here I was greeted by a very friendly staff. I walked into my room to find a recently renovated room, (or that is what it looks like to me). This place is very nice and for my future work trips here I will request a reservation here.
I loved everything about the hotel, but it was extremely pricey. Luckily, I did use points. I just couldn't believe the actual price. Everyone was extremely nice, the rooms were excellent, there was a beautiful indoor pool next door, all kinds of awesome things. However, the price is the only issue that I have with this place. I can't really see paying 200 bucks on a hotel room. I've never heard of a regular Best Western at such an extravagant price. So, overall, it is an EXCELLENT place to stay, as long as you have that kind of money to spend.
Checked in, put our bags in our room, and left to eat dinner on site. Came back and a pole with screws sticking out of it was coming out of our ceiling! Had we been in our room and it hit us on the head it could have killed us! We were quickly rushed to a new room and no charge. At checkout was told the manager would be contacting us but nothing. My company didn't have to pay for the room but no I'm sorry for your inconvenience from the manager or here's a few points nothing! The room was average and clean!
The maintenance department replaced the exterior door to the next room at 5:30AM because the guests in that room were “day sleepers”. This activity woke us and our dog up, the banging causing our dog to bark. If you are not with the oil industry at this location your comfort is not a priority for them.
Management & staff go out of their way to make your stay here a great one. You will leave knowing where you'll stay next time. I recommend it to anyone staying in Pecos Tx. I came across it by accident, now it's the only place I stay during work trips and vacation time.
Nice hotel but too expensive for what you get. The cleaning staff are great. The breakfast is awful and I don't usually complain. The internet was great. The room clean. They recommended the restaurant for dinner it was cold. The salad bar was good.
nice place in Pecos Texas, oil boom in area makes traffic in town bumper to bumper. have stayed at this motel several times and I believe it has been recently remodeled and updated. very nice now but oil boom has caused prices to increase.
Book in advance with oilfield booming can be difficult to get a room. Management is awesome and wonderful staff. Use this hotel rather frequently and always have a nice stay. Request to not be in courtyard rooms. With oilfield, workers can have a lot of large vehicles and can be tight parking.
The bed is way too high! My husband had to pick me up and put me on the bed because I could not transfer. The bathroom counter is not a roll under sink. The outlet you cannot reach from the counter to plug in the hairdryer which was up on a rack that I could not reach. The roll in shower was very nice however there was no shower curtain on the shower rack. There were no handlebars beside the toilet to hold onto. It was clean but avoid this room if you are in a wheelchair.
The BW breakfast at this location is served in an on property free-standing restaurant & the quality is much better than other BW free breakfasts ; there is also a BW plus location just next door if you choose
The front staff was very helpful and caring. Was raining when we checked in & staff told us how to get our room as well as the restaurant & stay fairly dry. All was clean & comfortable. Check out of very easy and helpful to speed us on our way.
Priced way too high for type of hotel. Room was ok, definitely not worth the $229 per night price. If price was around $130 then yes I would recommend. Although being in a pipeline city they up the price more than the per diem is given making it very difficult live under those conditions. Staff was nice and helpful. Internet was horrible couldn't even load simple pages on cell phone. Adjust price and get better internet.
I am not big on writing reviews but thought this time is was appropriate. I travel west Texas and New Mexico frequently and have my old regular overnight stops, most are nicely maintained but some seem not to weather time as well. The Swiss Clock was an exception, they not only maintain but keep trying to push the limits of what can be done with an older hotel. I ended up this time with a commercial room and was surprised with how new and up to date it was, Verrry comfy considering it was on the back side of the hotel by the truck lot. This room was smaller than I had in the past, but for me it didn't matter since I like spending time outdoors when possible. The new addition to the restaurant/bar is an outdoor area (surf club theme) the downside to it was smoking is allowed outdoors but it was surprisingly bearable. I suppose the good side is they have a no smoking bar area indoors. The big negative to the Pecos area right now is that the oil industry has pushed rates up, but they worked with me as much as possible.
I had reservations for a 2 bed room but upon our arrival we were only given a 1 bed. The receptionists let us know that there were no other rooms available with two bed. I asked about a rollaway bed but she said no to that too. I was very disappointed and my daughter ended up having to sleep on the floor. We made the best of it but was very disappointed for the amount of money spent on the room for the night!
The room was great and clean, plus AC worked great! Pool was yuck, filled with dust, dirt and little bugs. Construction near pool causing sand and dirt to blow on you. Plus the noise from the construction crew tamping down bricks. The bar was full and there was no one to wait on any of the tables. Went to the restaurant to eat--overpriced food and small portions. The waitress we had was underage and could not bring out alcohol. Free breakfast buffet was good the next day.
I stayed at this hotel on a recent business trip to Pecos, TX. It was an excellent experience from the time i checked in to check out the next morning. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Wireless internet service worked well. I had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant and it was delicious and service very good. I will stay at this hotel the next time I need lodging in Pecos. I highly recommend it!
The property needs updating mainly equipment, A/C, TV, remote, and get rid of cockroaches. Service was fair but only Receptionist and waitress in cafe could speak English. The T.V. seldom worked, the remote never worked even the second remote would not turn TV on even after I put new batteries in it. The bath tub stopper would not work,
I like the appearance and the cleanliness of the rooms. The restaurant had good food. The staff was very friendly and professional. I like that the restaurant and the Pub were on site. The pool and picnic area was very clean.
My wife and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times as we travel back and forth from California to the Dallas area. We have always found the accommodations clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. The staff are very helpful and gracious. The prices are not unreasonable. Swiss Clock Inn is highly recommended.
BW Plus costs a bit more ($122 plus tax) but you really get your money's worth. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms very comfortable and there was a breakfast buffet at the restaurant next door which was really nice.
Swiss Inn impressed my German born wife a great deal and that always makes my day go a lot better. Desk staff and manager set the best accommodations deal with an outstanding, properly furnished, clean, and secure suite.
Room was clean and comfortable! Quiet area! Dinner at the restaurant next door was very good and reasonably priced. It was nice to have a place to relax after a long day on the road! Would suggest this hotel as a place to stay!
They make u fill like your home. The lounge is a great place to have a drink. The restroom and the room are very clean. The food there was so good. They have a great looking pool. The people treated me like family.
Very nice stay. The room was spacious and very clean. Great bed and pillows. We had a great nights sleep. The breakfast at the restaurant on property was very good. Food was served buffet style and was very well prepared. You can also order eggs to order too. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.
From check in to check out I had a great experience, This was a last minute booking due to traveling through the town and boy I was sincerely impressed. I got star treatment from arrival which was late about 10pm. The manager was very patient while I made an online booking The room was very beautiful and so warm and comfortable, To be a inn I was very impressed. Breakfast was TOP !10 across the board The hotel staff in the breakfast area was respectable and accommodating. I hated that this was only one night. The previous week I stayed in a Hilton and this was so much better. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Defintely recommending this establishment to others. It was indeed a step above other BW hotels.
This motel is in the middle of the part of Texas that is full of oil/gas workers and most of the hotels are booked for months and weeks at a time for those purposes. We were pleased to have a room at this hotel at a fairly reasonable price. The front desk reception was friendly and the agents were eager to be helpful. The lobby is small and nicely decorated for the Holidays. This is a drive to your room (almost) as there are some rooms that you have to walk down a breezeway to access. The laundry and ice machines are also in a small breezeway not far from the check in area. The motel has a T shape with the check in desk at the bottom of the T. Our room was in the back (top of the T) and we observed just about the largest parking spaces ever. They were made of block and very impressive. Obviously they need parking spaces this size to accommodate the vehicles that the workers drive. Our small SUV was dwarfed in the space. We were there on a cold night and our room was clean and warm, albeit a tad tight. I'd have loved an easy chair as they only had a table with two upholstered high back chairs. The room had a queen bed, two night stands and a dresser that held the TV. You needed to put your bags on either the table or the dresser as the room had no other landing space. I asked at the front desk about luggage racks but was told they didn't have those (a surprising omission in my opinion). My husband put his bag on the floor and I squeezed mine up on the dresser next to the TV. The room had a microwave and refrigerator on a stand near the vanity. The TV was smaller than I would have preferred, especially since the best place to sit and watch TV was in bed. The internet was very good and we had a download speed of 8 MBpm that kept us happy. The bed slept fine and everything was in order with the room. I was disappointed to find that this motel does not have newspapers available in the morning and this may be the first Best Western I've stayed at that didn't offer something. Breakfast is in a restaurant that is set between the motel and its sister hotel. They offer a breakfast buffet that is open to paying customers as well. The food was good and the choices varied (they even had sone tasty refried beans). However, the entire place was on the dirty side. The salt and pepper shakers at our table were gunky, the spoon rests had not been cleaned (the refried bean spoon nestled on a rest that had about 1/4 cup of dried beans) and some of the bread had started molding. I really liked the bacon, fried potatoes and scrambled eggs with tomatoes, mushrooms and green peppers. They also had some very nice orange juice. They were out of salsa (empty bowl) while we were there. Apparently a new batch was being prepared - I guess they don't make new until they run out of the current batch. All in all this was a solid stay.
A surprisingly nice room considering it has exterior corridors. Extremely clean and was updated. The best breakfast I've had at a motel in a long time. Also surprisingly quiet--and it was Saturday night!
Privacy curtain was off the rod at center; we had to pull together and place a chair against it so people outside could not see in our room. The room appeared to be clean, but it smelled very stale. The toilet rocked at the base and seat was very loose making the visit very insecure. The in-room coffee was awful, like mud. The on-site restaurant is very good, above average. The restaurant serves the Best Western Plus and the Best Western Swiss Clock. Our impression is that the BW Swiss Clock is the older hotel and not as well maintained, and the BW Plus is the newer hotel.
Had my doubts but turned out to be a comfortable stay. Every employee I passed by would say hello or smile. After a long day at work and on the road, this was the place to kick off my boots and relax.
Very nice staff, very helpful with check in,clean rooms, great restaurant, awesome breakfast buffet and bar staff, manager is very polite with an awesome attitude I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to this area ??
Hotel stay was great, breakfast was amazing, the management and staff was awesome. The property was well maintained from the pool to the laundry room. The next time I'm in Pecos the Best Western Swiss Clock Inn is the perfect place to stay
The motel was easy to find and I enjoyed the fitness center that had much better choices of equipment than the usual treadmill. The breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. TV channel choices were limited, the one, dated chair in the room was uncomfortable and not at all suitable for use at the desk for computer work. The bathroom was OK the first day but missing the shower curtains the second day. Water pressure was low enough, that a bath was probably a better choice than the shower I would have preferred. Rates are high in Pecos and you might be better off to just travel further.
If you find yourself in Pecos for business or pleasure the Best Western Swiss Clock ans Swiss Chalet are where you want to stay. There are more amenities at this property than any other hotel in town. The restaurant is excellent and Ol Barry's Surf Club makes this and oasis in the middle of the West Texas desert. Kurt Schlunegger, his family and his staff, are first rate when it comes to hospitality and providing a very pleasant place to stay.
Rooms are comfortable with plenty of parking, breakfast is good with a wide variety. Staff are always friendly and the hotel is priced well in comparison with others in the area. Safe area of town and always seems like a popular hotel. Nice bar and pool area with reasonably priced restaurant.
The front desk lady was very nice, friendly and helpful. Rooms were a good size and had all we needed. Pool was in front of our room and we enjoyed it very much since this part of Texas was very hot! We had breakfast, which is at their restaurant, and they had many options to choose from.
I was very pleased with everything at the Motel. The restaurant was exceptional! Very good waiters and waiteress. Would diffently come back again. Soon I HOPE! We were there for the West of the Pecos Rodeo for two nights and the Cowboy Induction, which was great.
We were traveling through Texas with our 91 year old mother in a wheelchair. Called ahead to make sure they had a handicapped room and booked it. When we arrived, they said they had made a mistake... The room was freshly painted and smelled too strong to rent out. But we were in the middle of nowhere, late at night and with an unexpected snowstorm. They offered us the room at no charge and we stayed (in spite of the smell which gave us headaches). However, they charged us anyway after saying they would not. And would not respond to our trying to contact them about the mistake. Ended us costing us a bundle. Avoid this place unless you have no where else to go.
Nice hotel and very good restaurant on site. We had dinner that night and breakfast buffet the next morning. Staff was very friendly at check in and check out. Too chilly to use the outdoor pool but was a nicely landscaped area.
Clean and quiet, but the on site restaurant is closed on Saturday. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was every comfortable and had everything you would want or need for a nice over night stop. Easy to find with convenient on and off access to I20.
Were referred to Swiss Clock Inn as a pet friendly hotel/motel in Pecos. We got a clean, and adequate room in the older of the two side-by-side Best Westerns in Pecos. Place was supposed to be a BW Plus facility, but just barely. It was adequate for the one night stay enroute to Austin area. For an undisclosed reason, the "best restaurant in town" was closed in Saturday night, but was available for the complementary hot breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was good quality and well served by friendly staff.
Stayed here for another 9 days and again was treated so great. Love this hotel and it is a great place to stay. Thank you to the staff as always they are so friendly and helpful. I would not stay anywhere else in Pecos TX.
Trying to do landman work for the oil business. If you have AT&T, you cannot make a cell phone call or text from your room. You must walk outside towards the front office to get reception. Not exactly ideal when you are trying to be productive. OK maybe not hotel's fault so how about their internet? Terrible. It is either slow or doesn't work at all. Whatever you do, don't lock yourself into a three day stay like I did with a cheap rate. Only positive is the shower which has endless hot water. But I can't wait to leave. Oh one more thing....My next stay will be at a HOTEL not a MOTEL. I recommend the same unless you don't mind people chain smoking cigarettes and drinking beer at night outside your room.
Was very nice would stay again with the restaurant on property made for an excellent choice after driving all day - thank you very much - food in restaurant was good - didn't go in lounge way too much smoke
This was an amazing hotel. The staff was wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. They were so friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. I had absolutely no complaints about this hotel. We stayed for five days and were made to feel at home everyday. The food at the restaurant was good and it was very clean in there too.
The room was very nice. Good pillows. We had to ask for juice at breakfast and didn't know there was no extra charge until we asked. Check in and check out were quick and correct. The highway noise bothered us.
Very nice Best Western. If you are assigned a room way in the back be aware they have trash dumping early in the morning which gets annoying. The Breakfast Buffet is suppose to work with a restaurant voucher. The restaurant was closed do to a gas leak so you had to go to the next door buffet at the Chalet (That was a good thing) amazing breakfast buffet!!! Bad news was both hotels were there using it at the same time which got hectic to say the least. Lots I mean LOTS!!! of oil well workers, contractors and LOTS!!! of trucks blocking every driveway. I had to park on the frontage road and work my way back to the building. Normal? Not sure but be aware.
Room was clean on arrival. The shower is just a drain on the ground with dipped tile in the room so be careful not to get too much of the bathroom wet while showering. Breakfast here was fantastic! Breakfast is inside the restaurant in the middle of all the room locations and has biscuits, eggs, sausauge, gravy, fruit, toast, cereal, and pastries. Every guest is given meal tickets upon checking in. Like others have mentioned, most of the people staying here appear to be oilfield workers or welders.
I returned to my room around 4:30 pm from work to find house keeping had forgot to leave me hand towels by the sink, and the sink/counter top had not been cleaned. Aside from that, the room was as to be expected from a Best Western in the town of Pecos during an oil boom with LOTS of oilfield workers passing thru, which most don't have to pay for their room because their company has an agreement with the hotel.
Host were very accomodating, even with 1 am arrival. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Our room was surprisingly nice...... clean, roomy, and comfortable. Perhaps a tad pricey but certainly in line with I-20 corridor of traffic. We would stay here again.
Wonderful hotel with a good location. Has a great restaurant on site with an unmatched complimentary breakfast. It also has a clean, nearby park that I walked to with my toddler and even a modest fitness center. The staff weren't the most intelligent and didn't have a small crib available, but altogether a good place to stay.
Had everything we needed for the night. Not real hot water in the shower, sink had very hot water. Bed was comfy. Rooms close to highway are a bit noisy. Great breakfast in the morning. Would have given 5 stars if there was hot water in the shower.
Very common room, no internet. No frills for sure. Staff knew net did not work and did nothing to fix it. Sent two Latino men, one who did not speak English, to room. They looked around at the walls and said it does not work and left. Next morning the front desk admitted they did know the internet was not working and this had been so for at least a day or more.
Enjoyed the trip to Pecos and if you travel through west Texas , this is right off he interstate at the second exit , from either direction. There are actually two wBest Westerns at this address and two food service venues, both serving full breakfast and eggs as red red.The Chalet is enclosed and the Clock more a motel. But get this, here the sound proofing is good and the walk outside is short and about to get shorter as the new restaurant extension is completed. And oh yes, ask for their bana nut muffins , very flavorful . Consistency in rates is something that most motel/ hotels honor out here except here at the BW. No midweek bumps by another 50%.! Gen Mgr Veronica Natividad made sure of my comfort and welcome.
We were pleased by how large the rooms were. (There was plenty of room for our daughter to set up a pack-and-play in their room). The rooms were comfortable and they provided several packets of caffeinated coffee with the coffeemaker. The included breakfast was very good. We have stayed here twice before and it is our go-to stop when traveling west.
Very nice king room - clean, comfortable. I would ask for a room toward the front of the hotel however; we had a room at the back near a commercial truck parking lot and it was a little noisy at night and early in the morning with truckers parking and leaving. Otherwise the free breakfast in the restaurant at the front of the hotel was pretty nice. I would stay here again but only if I could get a front room.
Nice, large room (king) with all the amenities, including a microwave and mini-fridge. There was a table with two chairs and room for a desk (which it did not have). The table was a bit wobbly and could probably be tightened up with a couple of quick turns on a wrench. The furnishings are a bit dated, but still serviceable. I noticed that the lamps on the nightstands did not have usable outlets to plug in a cell phone charger, etc. The coffee maker and hair dryer were on a circuit with a GFCI on it but the power to the circuit was controlled by the overhead light switch; so the light must be on for the hair dryer or coffee pot to work. Not really ideal as I can see some folks struggling to understand why they can't get the coffee maker to work even though it is plugged in. The real delight was the breakfast, it was certainly one of the better offerings I've seen at a Best Western. It's served in a restaurant next to the hotel and it is a hot buffet with Southwestern-style scrambled eggs (the chopped green slices are not bell pepper, but green chilis), bacon, sausage, regular scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy and pancakes! There was also an assortment of fruits, danishes, and both hot and cold cereals. I had originally thought the room rate was a bit pricey (notwithstanding the premium that most of the area hotels are charging due to their proximity to the oil fields) but my room was about half the price of another popular national chain hotel. When I factored in the large, clean room and the breakfast buffet I was satisfied that rate was a good value. If I ever have the opportunity to do so, I will definitely stay here again.
It is always nice to stay there, very clean and friendly customer service. The cleaning crew is excellent, I felt very safe. Every time I travel I only stay at Best Western. They have always accommodated my stay. They go above and beyond.
Oil field boom in the Permian Basin has caused prices to rise. The hotel itself was nice, but we had very noisy neighbors and someone smoking outside our room. Get out of the basin if you can and save some money. Other wise, carry ear plugs.
I have been here off and on for the past year and have been very pleased with the staff ,room and service. The food and service in the restaurant has always been good. Breakfast is free and has a good variety to choose from
This is a really nice hotel for the money....clean, nice beds, ample towels and a great breakfast BUT this comes with a price! We had oil field workers staying on both sides and a good night sleep, we did NOT get. Doors slamming all night, large guys surrounding our door smoking and cussing almost constantly. The worst part is that it started at 6am Sunday morning...really?! I guess they think no one else matters. Front desk should put regular travel guests in a separate section to the workers!! Next time..we will drive through this town and not stop.
This hotel offered accommodation at the back of the property that was away from freeway noise. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities (except for a lack of freezer in my room) were very good. The heating/air unit was difficult to manage and rather loud, so I was a bit warm. But otherwise it was a pleasant stay - especially made so by the front desk personnel who checked me out the next morning.
Good breakfast, shop worn buildings, pleasant staff, best of a bad lot with value for money not good but you have little choice in the oil fields of boom-and-bust West Texas. adadadarararafgaffafkjwhpoiwjp[kbr [ehk[rkb;fdlkbr;ktfk[tlerk[prek[rktq[tk;'y,'af
This hotel staff has successfully brought customer service and competencies to a new low. They accepted my reservation for a business trip lasting five days, Upon my arrival they put me in a room in the middle of a construction site.Without even a walkway in front of it. The next day their staff enters my room with a do not disturb sign on the door.A day later the front desk calls me and tells me they need me to change rooms in 60 minutes so the construction workers can get started in that area. All the while the Hotel Manager has declined to speak to me.
Great place to rest when traveling on I 10. Room clean and spacious restaurant next door best breakfast ever at a Best Western. Room was spacious and very clean. Beds very comfortable and wi-fi worked well. Great place to rest after a long day of driving!
We made a stop in Pecos on the way to Carlsbad. The town is a little dusty and caught up in the oil boom so a little dirty. Do to the oil and gas workers, the prices for hotels were way to high for what you get. I did not realize that in smoking was allowed in hotel rooms in the U.S. anymore, but I found one that does allow it. Not knowing to check when booking, I did not request a non smoking room. The room smelt terrible and made it hard to sleep. Staff was friendly, and the breakfast was excellent.
Have stayed twice at this hotel. The two visits were approx. 30 months apart. Both times the hotel was in a state of disrepair do to work-in-process. The hotel proprietors don't seem to know how to minimize the disruptions. Also, the workmanship of much of the facility is questionable. If you can drive another hour or so up or down I-20, you should do so.
Highly recommend this property for business and pleasure. Excellent staff and amenities. Best restaurant and bar in town. Very well kept, safe and secure. We have stayed here many times. This is our hotel of choice whenever we travel to West Texas.
Booked what I thought was a Hotel Room, and was offered a Cabana Room out back, drive up hotel room. Nice room, but the door didn't want to close, fixed after 2 days. Front desk clerks should have more training for Customer Service, called and ask what channel was HBO, ummmm I don't know. Nice b'fest. Yes, the oil field has taken all the hotels at high rates.
We have had a standing reservation Monday-Friday for about 2 months and will need such a reservation for many months to come. We carry alot of equipment that needs to unloaded/set up and reloaded each week. Every Monday around noon we arrive--rooms are not ready--the type changes every week--the size changes every week--every room carries different TV stations--the construction is horrible--lamps don't work---chairs are broken and have to be changed out--air conditioners are clogged with dirt and heavens knows what else!! If rooms are handed out willy nilly by arrival WHAT IS THE POINT OF A RESERVATION? Suggest you go on down the road to Holiday Inn!!
