My wife and I stayed 1 night, checking in before 2PM. A nice smiling receptionist took my payment as I signed a liability sheet, then provided the keycards with the wifi code. We took our bags behind the reception to the 1st floor hall. Room #108 was wood floored, very clean and spacious with 1 comfortable queen, closet, medium sized refrigerator, keurig, couch and sliding door to a 2 chair patio. The bathroom had a tub shower with good hot water, soap, shampoo and nice towels. The large TV had a satellite guide(CBC, CNN, CTV, Burlington networks, PBS, TSN & many French channels). Good secure wifi, outlets and lighting. We did laps in the lovely 15' x 45' heated indoor pool with towels, shower and toilet. The 6AM lobby breakfast was attentively serviced and complete; OJ, fruit, eggs with meats/hashbrowns, cereal, yogurt, waffles, bagels, toast with a proper assorted coffee machine. Overall, a great night's sleep with a wonderful breakfast.
Room far too humid, too hot. Window not functioning for first 3 days. We couldn't sleep. No other room available, due to repairs being done. Breakfast was lacking in variety and taste. We only had our room cleaned once during our 7 day stay. We had to go to the front desk to get our supplies for our room.
Hard floor option available, 2 queen beds very comfortable, clean room with all needed. spent a quiet night. The continental breakfast is rich, choice of toast, muffin, waffle maker, juices and coffee dispenser.
After a long VERY hot day in Montreal, we pulled in at 9pm. Room was super clean and comfortable, loved having a fridge and patio door. There was traffic noise with door open, but no worse than big city! Hot breakfast was very good, especially making our own waffles! Alexandra, front desk, and Danny, at breakfast, were super accommodating and well spoken in both French and English.
I cycled from Laval, QC to Mont Laurier. When I arrived at the Best Western in Mont Laurier, I received excellent service and the staff was awesome from the time I got there until two days later when I left. I highly recommend staying at this place if you find yourself staying in Mont Laurier.
We were travelling across from Manitoba to Nova Scotia and needed a place to stop for the night. I called while on the road and was able to make a reservation easily. We arrived late and got an early start the next day, and the rooms, service, and location were perfect for our purposes. The breakfast was a great start to our day and was at a good time for us to get on the road early. Thanks to the team for our stay!
Great place to stay, good accommodations for truck and trailers, a little far from the trails when snow conditions are lacking, gas station located as soon as you get off the trail, breakfast is good, awesome staff
I stayed one night for a business trip, basically needing a bed, an internet connexion and a shower. The room was clean and spacefull. I don't need to eat in the morning but breakfast was good and the included espresso coffee was REAL GOOD.
Our experience at the BW Mont Laurier was great. check in was quick and efficient, staff very friendly, rooms exceptionally clean and the breakfast was more than adequate. I took time to enjoy the pool. It was clean and the temperature of the water comfortable.
We were part of a 15-player U15 boy hockey team so a lot to manage, but the staff was great and the rooms and breakfast were just what we needed. The hotel is well located on the main strip, within 5-10 minutes of everything in Mont Laurier.
Arrived late due to a snowstorm chose it because of the indoor pool. Room was basic but clean. What made it all better was the super friendly receptionist on the front desk. All restaurant kitchens were closed and she kindly took pity on us and gave us a croissant as we bought chips from the snack assortment for dinner. She was cheerful and polite.
Nice clean hotel great service. Quick service at the entry, and great servicie for the reste of the staff Nice clean room no carpet. The beds are very confortable . The ac are not noicy. i have a great stay .
If you like rude and unfriendly staff, stay here. If not, there are better options just down the road. The smoking policy is also not enforced. Multiple guests and staff smoke within close proximity to the rooms. Yuck!
I had made a reservation at this hotel about 2 weeks ago through the Best Western website. When I arrived at the hotel late on July 15, the hotel claimed I had cancelled my reservation, but I had not, and had no record of receiving a cancellation notice from Best Western either. The hotel was full and could not find comparable accommodation for me elsewhere in town, so I had to drive over an hour to find a suitable night's accommodation. Despite multiple emails asking for some compensation for their error, all I got was the repetitive reply " you made the reservation through Booking.com (not true) so deal with them". I have had to escalate to corporate customer service and am still waiting for a resolution. All in all a very unpleasant experience. My advice -- call the hotel before you arrive to make sure you still have a reservation.
Highly recommend. Never had such immaculate rooms in all my travels. We were very much impressed by the service and the quality of our stay. Do not hesitate. You will be very satisfied with the overall service.
I tavel for work, and I see lots of hotel rooms, although the decor is very simple this hotel room was spotless and the cleanest i have ever seen. The AC was loud and the pillows could be better, but for one night all was good and I would recommande this hotel without hesitation.
Clean and quiet hotel, close to TransCanada Highway. Close to restaurents, close to hicking trails. Mont-Laurier is a beautyfill area! You can walk in the forest just behind the hotel. If you are snowmobiling or ATV user, paths are just by this place!
Asked for a room upstairs to ensure that it was quiet since the first floor was booked up and that was a mistake. The rooms on the ground floor have had the carpet removed and the rooms upstairs did not. My husband has allergies and did not have a good night. There was hair on the bathroom floor which is a complete turn off but did not notice it until we had unpacked. And finally, the second breakfast sandwich in as many days (stayed at another Best Western the night before) was a let down.
We stayed at this hotel since we were there for a short snowmobile trip. The security is top notch for our snowmobile. The room was very clean. I felt comfortable with all the covid rules. We plan on returning very soon. Close to snowmobile trails and plenty of restaurants near by to order in.
Very clean. Room was comfortable. We were located on the main floor. Appreciated the patio door (always nice to have fresh air) & no carpet. No restaurant but they did provide us with a breakfast to go. Felt comfortable with measures taken re covid. Staff would remind you to wear your mask. Walking distance to some restaurant eg. St.Hubert.
On Thursday August 20th, 2020, after driving from Sainte-Adèle on Highway 117, my wife and I arrived at our booked destination, the two-floor eco-friendly Best Western Plus situated at 1231 Boulevard Albiny Paquette in Mont-Laurier, Quebec. It is conveniently located on Highway 117 and provides quick access to downtown restaurants and fast food places, the bike path Le P'tit Train du Nord, and Vallée de la Rivière Golf Club. We arrived around 2:00 pm and our room was already available. Check-in was easy and quick and getting our magnetic room key was a breeze. Our spacious and wonderfully comfortable executive suite on the second floor was accessible by lift. The suite which included a separate living room was highlighted by the many windows and the hardwood flooring. It was overlooking the busy highway going into town. Added for our convenience were a mini fridge, a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave, two large LCD TVs, a huge desk with chair, free high-speed Wi-Fi, and free parking. We enjoyed the comfortable premium bedding with its many pillows. An adjoining private bathroom with a neutral décor, had a large and modern shower stall, the complimentary toiletries, a hair dryer, a cosmetic mirror and a white counter and modern sink. Due to associated health concerns under Covid-19 and the safety protocols, we were not able to use some of the amenities such as the fitness centre and the breakfast room as they were temporarily closed. However, we did enjoy swimming in the heated indoor pool. That evening we ordered in some pizza from Pizz Traiteur Pizzeria. The next morning, we did get a delicious pre-packaged Grab & Go Breakfast that included an orange juice, a sausage-egg & cheese bagel, a blueberry muffin, a yogurt, a fruit cup, and coffee. Before leaving the premises, the front desk made sure we got our Best Western invoice statement by E-mail. Because of the hotel quality, the price, the Covid-19 sanitization standards under the We Care Clean Program, the organizational process, and the great customer service, we would recommend the Best Western Plus Mont-Laurier and would rate our stay as 5 stars.
Good thing we have different options...best western is not what it used to be...cheap places...noisy...breakfast is really dry...not too many choices...well now we know not to stay at this place anymore...
Great start to our stay by a very welcoming front desk agent (sarcasm intended). I booked both rooms for my coworker and I on the app earlier in the day. Immediately as were checking in the front desk agent says if you're not paying for both rooms and he's not a member he doesn't get the rate. We both have to pay separately and I mentioned that this has never been an issue at any other Best Western hotel or any other hotel brand I stay at when making multiple room bookings. All we got told was it's our policy. We felt like we just got attitude from the front desk agent and we were tempted to cancel the reservation and go elsewhere due to her unwelcoming personality. As a Best Western Diamond Member I definitely expect better than this! That was enough to leave a negative impression of the hotel. I do not recommend the hotel and will not stay here ever again. Learn some customer service! The elevator also needs a major upgrade as it's possibly the slowest elevator I've ever experienced. DO NOT STAY HERE!
We were attending a local Friday evening concert in this Laurentian village with friends and in no hurry to return to Montreal afterwards. The Best Western was centrally located and offered us a peaceful night's sleep after the event. Breakfast the next morning gave us a good start to the summer day ahead. We enjoyed our overnight stay.
We went as a hockey team and were VERY impressed. Great rooms with modern decor, pool was large enough to have some fun with the kids and even a conference room to meet in for free ($500 deposit). Breakfast was great with many different items to add to the waffles and all staff were very friendly and helpful! Rommie service did an amazing job and the location is close to many restaurants and fast food places.
Helpful staff, excellent location on main drag of Mt Laurier, convenient to stores and restaurants. Clean, pleasant place to stay. Crazy elevator, but it does the job. Nice hot, full breakfast. I'd certainly stay here again.
great location, really clean, great towels and very comfortable bed. breakfast was complete with hot food, eggs, pancake and waffles, fresh fruit, juices, tea, coffee, toats, jam, peanut butter, cheese, whipped cream and other ingredients.
Stayed in one of the new rooms. Very spacious, comfortable, quiet, internet connection. Excellent service. Personnel very friendly and helpful. Great continental breakfast included in the price of the room.
We stayed here for one night. I was born in this little city and wanted to show it to my husband and daughter. We had a great stay. We all enjoyed the pool, especially our daughter. We brought our dogs and it was nice to stay in a pet-friendly room that was in perfect condition - clean and well kept. The staff were helpful and accommodating, even opening the gym (really a small work out room) early for my daughter. It is right along a main road so traffic is an issue. Ask for a room facing the back and it will probably be less noisy. Also, the landscaping needs a little upkeep. Amazing what a few flowers might do to leave a more pleasant impression. Will definitely stay here again if we go back.
The price was great with great service and comfortable rooms and hotel. The location is good but slightly out of the way if you have no transportation. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was ok to get you started.
Top notch accommodations, staff very friendly, helpful, committed to making our stay excellent! continental breakfast even included omelet and waffles! Considering we did not speak any French there was no language barrier encountered here.
This unplanned stay was made easier by the well trained and friendly staff. The facility was recently renovated and is modern and clean. Breakfast was among the best I've had in this kind of setting. I would easily recommend this hotel
Would not stay anywhere but at Best Western Plus.Mont-Laurier. Recent renovations. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Pleasant personnel.full of attention. We arrived at 1:00 PM and our room was already available.A beautiful basket of delicious apples was also offered at the reception area.
Just renovated, good price, great rooms and very clean, nice inside pool, friendly staff and above all the included breakfast is the best I ever seen and offers a very wide variety of choices for anybody. Can't wait to go back!
We were a bit in a shock when arriving at this hotel. The whole front of the hotel was torn down and construction was in full swing. Would be nice to know about this. We got a room right next to the construction site. Only info was a bi langual leaflet on the desk in our room with a short time of work carried in the english version than the french version. They really started at 8 am! Room was ok. Beds good. Breakfast included. Ok to start the day.
My husband and I, along with another friend, stayed at this hotel for one night before starting out the next morning on a cycling adventure on the P'tit Train du Nord trail. The hotel had very comfortable beds, and the young woman with long blonde hair at the desk was delightful. She recommended a great cafe for lunch and went out of her way to communicate with us in English. I really liked the sitting area for reading on the second floor. The only things that I found lacking were the breakfast choices and the construction taking place in front of the hotel, which was not mentioned on the hotel's website.
The hotel was poor value for cost due to the poor access during construction / renovations. The staff were helpful and bilingual. The hotel was selected based on proximity to the main highway. The pet fee of $15 was prohibitive given that no amenities were provided.
Quality price Best Western is one of the best. We enjoy using Best Western. The is our second stay at BW in Mont-Laurier back to back. Vicky were very nice the evening employee at the reception, was very nice to us, she offered wine glasses so we coud finish our wine after coming back from dinner. The next day all employee nice during breakfast which was very good before we went on a 210 kms bike ride !
Perfect to take a break between Larentides and Laverendry parcs. Nice breakfast and the pool make children happy, comfy bed, quiet even with the 117 nearby. We've stopped there a couple of time, never had any bad experiences. Recommended.
The room had a cleaner smell on entry which was ok... but then it began to smell a bit musty from humnidity or something. not sure. The bed had a few protruding lumps particularly near the edge of the bed.
We stayed here before starting a cycling trip along the P'tit Train du Nord linear park. The hotel was comfortable (especially the beds!) and the staff was nice. We appreciated being able to use the bicycle lock-up shed to keep our bikes safe and dry.
I always choose the Best Western while visiting Mont Laurier. I have stayed there during both winter and summer months. The service and accommodations are always excellent. I would recommend staying at this hotel.
Room clean and large enough. Internet worked properly although access to Skype was blocked. Hotel with many restaurants nearby. Very good breakfast provided. Unfortunately parking lot was icy when we were there, and my wife nearly hurt herself.
Went with sport group. Had dog with (extra fee applied). Great room for dog--hard floors, patio door. Clean hotel, good breakfast. Happy to have fruits and yogurt offered. Internet worked well for the two nights.
I stop at this Hotel every month for one night since 2014. I am always satisfied with my stay. Quiet, well situated, polite employees, fair breakfast, I can even have some documents scanned when needed.
We stayed at the Best Western Plus recently. We arrived on a Friday night without having made reservations. It was a busy time of the year as well. We were fortunate to get one of their last rooms. The room was clean, had good quality linens and excellent quality toiletries. Our room was on the second floor, and in the back. It was very quiet and we had an excellent night's sleep. A full breakfast is included in the very reasonable price. We regularly visit our family there. We will definitely stay there again.
Stayed here recently and have nothing but good things to say. Your choice of hotels in Mont Laurier is not the greatest, but this place is probably one of the best. Very well priced and for what you great a very good deal. Room was clean, bed comfortable and the people at the hotel were very nice. Unlike many larger, fancier hotels, breakfast is included and is very good. Services in the hotel, gym, pool etc. are available. For such a small place they offer a lot. The only negative I can say is that the air conditioner is a little loud, but it is very effective. This however, in no way, took away from our enjoyment. I would recommend this hotel if you find yourself in Mont Laurier.
Stopped there for a week-end trip. Hotel and room were in a fair condition. Room was somewhat quiet. A bit dated but OK for our expectations. Location is pretty convenient and staff was OK. Pretty happy overall.
We were moving across Canada and needed pet friendly hotels. The pet fee is $25 which is fine. The room was clean and the beds and sheets were so nice. Only downside was it was extremely icy in the parking lot and the path made to go to our exterior door (we had a walk out room).
This was an extremely lovely place to stay. Rooms were very very nice. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. Very much enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. We had no idea how nice it would be!! Was a lovely surprise!
If you are a big bunch of sledders looking for a party place then this is not the hotel for you. Go with the Comfort Inn. But if you are a couple, family or a small group who want to ride during the day and relax in the evening then this Best Western is the best you'll get. Our room was huge, clean and quiet. The bar fridge had loads of space, the cable TV is great and our internet wireless speed was off the charts!! Parking for our rig was available but it can get cramped on the weekends. There's place to secure park your sled if you wish. One of the biggest BRP dealers you'll ever see is just down the street, with gas pumps out front. Trails are a quick scout up the sidewalk, about 200 meters. The city seems to leave a layer of snow on them. And traffic really respects sledders, we never felt in danger. St Huberts restaurant is steps away and an Aux Vieux Duluth restaurant is on the way. Mikes, Boston Pizza and Pizz Pizzaeria all deliver in less than 25 minutes. The only reason the place doesn't get 5 stars is that the breakfast bar is too small and it would be nice to have a hottub by the swimming pool. Staff where helpful and patient and if the struggled with english they would find someone who was fluent. (We are bilingual so this was not an issue for us). We also appreciate the fact that trail permits are sold at the front desk. We'd love to return to ride Mont Laurier again one day, and if we do we'll stay here again.
My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Mont Laurier for 6 nights. We used this site for day trips on our snowmobiles. The location is perfect with gas, restaurants close by and trail access close by as well. Ample parking for our truck and trailer, and snowmobile trail passes available from the front desk. The hotel is really quiet and well run. The pool was nice and relaxing. The only complaint that we had was in regards to the breakfast room. It was way too small for the size of hotel and number of guests trying to get breakfast in the morning. Get up early if you want to eat here or wait until the crowd thins.
Had to stay in Mont Laurier to be close to hospital for an early morning appt. Hotel lived up to my expected standards. Best Western to date has never disappointed me. If I ever had to be in the area again for an early morning appt, I would certainly stay there again.
Centrally located hotel close to many good restaurants walking or 1-2mim drive. Service is good and morning breakfast was good clean & fresh Ask for second floor room Only downfall is they do give point if you book true a agency ( egencia/ Expedia)
Bonjour! Wrote a review 2 weeks ago and again.... found I had saved with the wrong rating. So here I go again. Had to choose a place to stay overnight in Mont Laurier and was very happy I got to book at the BW Plus. Late check-in after a long ride, on the Friday right before Thanksgiving. Very nice, smiling, welcoming young man at the front desk (don't have his name but he lives in Rivière Rouge). What a great way to end a very long day. Was given a room on the second floor. Big room, very clean. Nothing fancy but met my criteria: safe, fairly big, clean. Appreciated the small fridge. Went to get myself some kind of a snack at a nearby grocery store. Comfy beds. Small balcony and enjoyed being able to open the door to get fresh air in. Despite the fact the hotel wall fully booked, very quiet. We like that, very quiet. We can sleep.... Hot breakfast included. Nothing fancy but it does the job. A bit crowded the next morning (long weekend). I would maybe suggest they plan another room for breakfast if they have a full house on a regular basis. Otherwise: bring your stuff to your room and eat there. Free parking, right off Rd 117. Great stop if traveling to / from Abitibi. Room Tip: Summer: might suggest to ask for a room not on the 117 as traffic can be heavy (noise??)

we were enjoying to stay at this bestwestern in Mont-Laurier. So many things to see and do around that in 7 days we didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted to do . This area offering a lot for Cultural and nature lovers . Hope you ever go at the beginning of october the color of the fall are just umbelieveable.
Very friendly staff, well appointed good size rooms, ok breakfast though breakfast room rather small. A very good BW and pet friendly as well. Recommend jf you are lookinglooking for something in the area. Great CAA rate.
Professional service, staff very polite, too small breakfast room. I had to eat in the lobby, beside that inconvenient the room and service was great, very very clean. Would recommand but they have to do something with the breakfast
Very friendly gentleman at the front desk. Bicycle storage was extremely handy. Room was clean and replete with everything we needed including a cute little balcony with chairs and a table. If you're looking to walk around downtown, it's a little bit far but otherwise we were quite pleased with this hotel.
Best Western are always a sure place to go and this was not an exeption. We had to stay overnight because our car broke down. The staff accomodated us very nicely and our room was ready when we arrived at 11pm
This is the best choice in Mont Laurier. Polite staff, i got a room that had just been renovated so ask for that. Good bed, well located and in walking distance of descent food. They are motorcycle friendly and provide safe parking with locks! Free breakfast is provided...omelettes are microwaved but the best breakfast we had on our trip.
