Best Western Maple City Inn

This hotel is clean, over all quite, breakfast is always good, they could use new bath towels, current ones are thin. Pool is cold, wish it was warmer. Workers are all nice, helpful and care about the hotel.

Clean and convenient, a warm and dry place to sleep and shower. Hornell is a bedroom community, supporting light manufacturing and farming as well. The area is peaceful. There's also a few geological highlights and the nearby top rated Letchworth State Park a must see. The village is at the west terminus of the Finger Lakes.

Use this Best Western as a stop-over a few times a year.They have a good staff and the property is in good shape. Room was fine,breakfast was good and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Like most hotels they're a little short-staffed but they did a good job making it a good visit.

No record of my reservation. When I said I have it on my phone the clerk suddenly found it. Front desk clerk was grumpy and rude. My AARP discount was not applied. I have stayed at much nicer hotels for less. A shabby hotel, going downhill fast. Wont be staying there again.

This was our first time staying at BW. I was pleasantly surprised how nice an clean the hotel was. It was in a convenient location. Entire staff were all so nice, friendly and helpful. The pool was nicely sized even though didn't use it. The breakfast was also good. Had an overall excellent stay.

Poor quality, room stinks including the bed I has to spray lysol all around the room and the bef no other choice to purchase a pillow, I could sleep, I won't recommend or come back, air conditioning to noisy,

Good clean room!! The staff was super friendly!!! Good hot breakfast in the AM. The bed was comfortable!! We always enjoy our stay here when we visit Hornell!! We highly recommend it!!! Convenient location!!

We had a very positive experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it to others. Hotel staff were great, room clean, and food very good. Location was great and close to may of the people we were visiting.

We arrived around 12:30pm for an early check-in only to be greeted by the female clerk who was picking her teeth with her finger and had a bad attitude, as if we were interrupting her lunch with her coworker. I asked if we could check-in early and she said "if the room is ready". She punched a few keys and said "nope, it's not ready". We checked in later into our room, but quickly found mold all around the seam of the tub surround, water and soap scum on the tub/shower faucets and bathroom sink. There were cob webs on the ceiling and an accumulation of dust on the armoire. The room was disgusting considering we were charged $193 +tax, etc.

Good visit ,clean Hotel,friendly staff and a good breakfast. We were given a 'welcome bags ) ' when we checked in ( a bottle of water, a brownie and chex mix ) . The woman who checked us in/out was friendly and helpful as were the Breakfst staff. Very good crew here.

Very decent place to stay. Staff very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was very good. Cheese omelets, sausage, waffles, cereal. Did not use pool but it did look decent and open until midnight. Good amount of parking though our time there was alot of construction trucks there which minimized parking. For veterans out there there is a VFW right done the street.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The price on a summer Sunday was about $150. The two queens were good, as was the cot. Liked having a microwave and fridge. Very good continental breakfast. The indoor pool was nice, not too cold. The hotel was quiet. It's not a new hotel, but it's been updated and maintained. Staff was very good and friendly. It is located a block off the main street, so a little tricky to find. But very convenient to all the downtown amenities. There are not many really good hotels in the Hornell area, so we were glad to find this one. (One minor complaint: a bright colored sofa in the lobby had obvious stains.....either deep clean it or get a new one. One little thing like that can really detract from an otherwise excellent hotel).

This Best Western is an A+.. clean and pleasant. The complimentary full breakfast with Hostess Carla at the helm, was above and beyond. Carla is wonderful. She anticipates your every need with a smile and and deserves to be compensated.

This hotel is a great value. It is always clean and well maintained. Hot breakfast is fresh and tasty. If you have kids the pool provides great entertainment as there is not much else to do in Hornell.

A nice hotel placed beside a noisy train track. Several times a day and night, one could easily hear the train whistle blowing. Why would anyone build a hotel beside very active train tracks. Housekeeping staff and breakfast bar staff were very pleasant.

We had a wonderful stay at this Best Western. Our room was comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the indoor pool. The location was easy to find and this is the perfect hotel for a stop over when traveling.

Old, rundown hotel. Front desk person was rude and unfriendly when we checked in. Rooms were dirty, dark, depressing. Staff didn't clean room unless we asked. Over priced for what it is. Walls so thin you can hear everything in the next room. Heating/ac very noisy. Door to hallway has at least 1/4 inch space top and bottom so heard all noises. No safety handle in shower/tub.

I read the reviews for the hotel and they were not good. I read many of them that said they were dirty and the bathrooms especially were dirty. Once i got to the hotel, i had checked in and checked the hotel room and the bathroom as well and EVERYTHING WAS SUPER CLEAN and it also smelled VERY GOOD as well!

Not recognized as a diamond member, tv didn't work, very noisy so I couldn't get a good night sleep with all the doors opening and closing that everyone in the hotel could hear and when I went to check out one of the luggage carts was at the front desk stacked with boxes and the second luggage cart was being used by the maintenance man to collect 1/8 full garbage bags so I had to make three trips to my room and back to the car to transport my luggage. I will glady drive a hour to work at Alfred then to stay at your hotel again.

The staff was welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and every time it is a great stay. Anytime we are in Hornell we stay at the Best Western.

Very comfortable bed and a nice pool.Check in was smooth and the staff were all of polite. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and if I were in the area I would definitely stay again.

My family and I stayed at the hotel when visiting Alfred State for a college visit. We decided to stay here because of the proximity to the school. The staff couldn't have been nicer and helpful. Even though we were only there to sleep for a few hours we would stay there again.

The location is convenient. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are a decent size. The bathrooms is where work is needed tile is moldy in places kind of run down.

Staff was friendly and surfaces were clean, but the smell of our room was terrible (somewhere between wet dog and mold). Seams from any one surface to another were dirty making the entire place feel like a low grade dump. Window was sealed shut with caulk so we couldn't even open for fresh air (I'm betting a fire hazard too). Lighting in the bathroom was terrible (inadequate for grooming). Bed was uncomfortable. We checked out early. I challenge the owners to spend a night here.

Great place to stay in Hornell. It is Close to everything in the city. The staff is great. Glad to see that breakfast is back. The Only issue i had at this hotel was availability. It is the best hotel in the city.

This hotel was recently updated and is beautifully maintained. Rooms were very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool is nice. Hot breakfast was very tasty. Excellent option for family or business. Terrific value for the price.

We have stayed in the BW Hammondsport when we visited the Finger Lakes in the past but the winos had the place booked this time. We found the BW in Hornell to be a great second choice. The staff was so friendly as we arrived very late at night. Our room was spotless and we had extra toiletries and plenty of fluffy towels and hot water. The room was quiet even though there was construction nearby. Our room was equipped with a refrigerator with small freezer and microwave. There were plenty of plugs bedside and on the desk for electronics and the wifi worked fine. This was also a convenient location if you forgot to pack something with a Walmart and Wegmans nearby. Darlene and Laurie at the front desk took care of crediting my gift cards in the morning and they gave us a few breakfast choices to eat in the breakfast room. They were serving a kids pancake meal, a cold "to go" bag or a hot "to go" bag with a microwaveable breakfast sandwich in it that was pretty good. Hornell BW was a great surprise. The staff were pleasant and professional and the town was safe and close to a lot of attractions.

Was pleased with service and amenitys at this location. Minor repairs in rooms need attention. Even with major construction in rear of building, I was comfortable. The neighboring train tracks was a shock the first time.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. It is convenient to a family camp that is a few miles away from Hornell. The staff takes good care of the guests. They have worked hard during Covid to make guests feel safe. The hotel is very clean. The pool has re-opened with a max. of 10 people at a time. Nice!

The Hornell BW is a convenient and safe stay. The rates are reasonable, the facility is great, and the staff have been awesome. I've stayed here for hunting a number of times over the past several months and the experience has been consistently great. The front desk staff have always been friendly and accommodating.

Clean, well-kept, hotel in a location where lodgings are hard to find. The room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Due to COVID, I did not use the exercise or pool areas and did not attend breakfast. However, all of those things were available for guest use.

Stayed here after a long day on the road and it was perfect. I booked my room ahead of time and everything was in order when I arrived. Check-in and out was quick and friendly. Will definately consider when going through Hornell again.

We had to evac our son from college due to Covid-19 shutdown. Hotel was great. We had to have an overnight stay due to distance traveled each way. The hotel was spotless and sanitized heavily. We had a king suite that was a great value.

We stayed here during the retreat and a great place to stay, awesome indoor pool and exercise room. The staff smiles and spoke to you every morning. We had comfortable beds and a very nice stay. Parking was convenient and the atmosphere was pleasant.

We were in town for a funeral. I selected Best Western because of its location to the places we would need to go. We are quite satisfied with our stay, our room and especially the staff at the front desk.

This hotel is one of the best we have stayed at in the last several years and we have stayed I many hotels in many cities. I rank it in the top-10 for the cost. I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was good and the staff did a great job.

The only problem I had with this hotel was getting to it.....could see it just wasn't sure how to get there as I confused my GPS. Nothing the hotel can do but could hear person walking across floor above and voices next door but didn't keep me awake. Breakfast was good.

I enjoy staying at this hotel. It is close to where my son is building a cabin and it is always convenient and the staff is pleasant. It is walking distance to a restaurant and bar and a short drive to other really good restaurants.

Everything was excellent and I would stay there again. My wife, myself and granddaughter had to go to a college even't and had to spend two nights there. The Best Western made our stay very enjoyable.

The Hotel staff is very welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast options are plentiful and the lounge area is a wonderful gathering place for friends and family . There are fun things to do in Hornell especially antiquing and eating! And don't miss Cider Creek just outside of town. The Hotel was an inviting spot with good amenities and great service.

We paid for a hotel and my husband had to sleep on a very uncomfortable couch bed, the beds are extremely high, and hard for a wheel chair, or handicap person to get into!! The staff was friendly and tried to help the best they could!! As for management, all they care is their within City codes!! Not customer comfort and assistance!!!

The rooms were not clean. Hair in the bed, stains on the sheets and pillowcases. The beds were full size, and not queen. The sheets are not replaced here, even after you request it. They simply remake the bed. God knows when these sheets were laundered last. The staff has been very rude to us while were here. We needed a pack & play for my little one. They sent us one that is extremely filthy, with no replacement available and no sheets to cover over the dirty pack and play. We had to keep our child in the bed with us. The bathroom was dirty, they put the used towels from another guest back on the shelf, that I had to get replaced. We tried to eat breakfast. There was no high chair available, because another family was using the only one they had. The lady running breakfast was very rude and pushed our family away, not being able to eat breakfast this morning. This was the worst experience we've ever had at a hotel. As a IBEW Union member, I am going to let the 100,000+ members know of my family's experience here at Best Western and reccomend that they stay far away from this hotel chain and they're bad practices! We're trying to find another hotel, but unfortunately everything is booked for this labor day weekend.

This Best Western is, by far, the best option to stay in for any visit to Alfred State or Alfred U. It is modern, clean, good breakfast, large rooms, and in the center of Hornell, close to stores and restaurants.

I booked my stay at best western in hornell,ny . the staff at the counter were amazing they provided the best and fast check in. our room was awsome. we even had a note from the staff saying they hope we enjoy our stay . for a short book we got a well rested night.

Book early as their quality is well known and they get sold out. Very nice athletic room and great pool. I stay here about twice yearly and never disappointed!

I researched places close to Letchworth State Park that had a pool. This was the closest I found. The hotel was very clean - not a BW Plus, but close. A very nice lobby and breakfast area. [It was a bit too cold for my taste]. Pool was clean and there were towels available [very skimpy - we ended up using our own towels] We missed the hot tub, but the water was warm - our grand daughter loved it. Everyone was pleasant, room was clean and everything was in working order - However the bathroom fan was very loud and did not work independently from the light.

the best western in hornell is great It is the only hotel I like to stay at when we go to visit family in the area. the rooms are clean, food for free breakfast is great and staff is very pleasent and accomodating.

We have stayed at the Best Western Prior and the front desk service has been less than wonderful . THe older lady seems very crabby .The addition of Lisa to the front desk has made such improvements!! Great guest service.. Easy Check out even though there were 6 of us in line ... She made it seem effortless. She even offered on demand email receipts to each guest. Lisa remembered my name and my son getting into Alfred. I will always stay here. Great job and we will see you in November .The breakfast was really good with lots of options nad the Lady Penny was very friendly to each guest.

I stay here on a regular basis and I have yet to be disappointed. Staff is caring and helpful. Vicki always has a smile and great suggestions for dinner . Rooms are well appointed and clean. Breakfast buffet is always hot and fresh.

The staff was the most friendly I have ever had. For this reason alone I would definitely book a room at the Best Western in Hornell New York. This was a family event and they went out of their way to help every single one of us who had a question or concern.

We stayed here for 2 nights and we were pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel. Overall, the surfaces were great as were the linens. The shower curtain and the window curtains could use a washing. The interactions we had with the staff were good and they were pleasant. For the price and compared to other places to stay in Hornell, it was a good place to stay.

The hotel is very nice and clean in the center of town. However, I would like to enlighten you as to how incredible this girl at the front desk is. She DEFINES customer Service. We were in town for a 90th Birthday party , lots of family and demands--- this lady ran circles for our family. from assisting in setting up a buffet of food to making sure the kids had their own little gift from the best western... cereal. When the baby would not stop crying she suggested we take a chair outside in a cooler, quieter area . when that didn't work she just said" May I "??/ the baby went right to her. she held the baby and he IMMEDIATELY stopped crying. She then explained she has a defibulator and pacemaker . The heart defect allows a baby to hear her heart beat, which reminds our baby of being inside the womb. He settled right down. She rocked him a bit and he was asleep. THEN she helped a lady who was visiting to spread her daughters ashes over Keuka lake. She Called a local restaurant had dinner delivered for them. She helped clean up while we played cards This lady was wonderful. Perky ,pleasant , Happy. you could tell she just loved her job. Nice Job Best Western

I was totally satisfied with everything! Cleanness, room and staff. However the bed was too hard for me and I did not sleep as well as normal. Pillows where soft.. bathroom was clean as well! Which makes me hap0y

This hotel is amazing. It os clean, and the staff is friendly. It has a great breakfast and great amenities. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through or around the Hornel, Ny area. You cant go wrong.

I stay regularly in this hotel for my business visits. The hotel is very spacious, neat and clean. Also the staffs are very friendly. I couldnt say excellent because they could still improve on their breakfast menu.( especially the frozen food by something fresh ) I recommend this hotel for all type of visitors.

Nice centralized location, which made it a little noisy over St. Patrick's day weekend, but not overwhelming. I cannot recall the overnight front desk clerks name, but she was very attentive in dealing with both rowdy guests and people walking through the parking lot. The pool was a good temperature, could've been cleaner but with the volume of people that were in there over the weekend it was excusable. Would stay again if in the area.

The hotel has been recently renovated. Everyting is clean and up to date. Comfortable mattresses. Pleasant atmosphere, convenient fitness center, and decent free hot breakfast. With the renovation they put in an elevator, which the hotel did not have before. Choices for hotels in this area are limited, and this is by far the best one in the area.

I use the Best Western in Hornell, NY at least 8 times a year because it is close to my sons College SUNY Alfred. In our travels we have never had a more comfortable mattress or pillows as we have had at this particular hotel. Add the free wifi and breakfast and local hospitality of the staff and other business owners in the area and it is our only hotel we will stay at now. This Best Western in Hornell is model that other Hotel chains should follow.

Great value - clean and comfortable. Easy check in - good location. Nothing wrong with the room. Had some difficulty with TV remote to turn on or off. We would stay here again. Easy check out - no problems!

There aren't many choices of nice hotels to stay at in Hornell, NY. This Great Western is simply the best. The rooms are clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

This hotel is very clean and in a great location. The breakfast was very good. The only downside is the pool that they advertise. The pool is heated but the room temperature is set to 69 degrees! Way too cold. Also, they are crazy about dumb rules, you can't even talk a plastic water bottle into the pool area. They need to lighten up and increase the heat in the room to a normal temperature.

We always have a wonderful experience when we visit family. Breakfast is AWESOME as my grandkids put it!! The beds are very comfortable. We are within walking distance of where we need to go. I recommend it to everyone.

We called ahead to secure an early check in and was told there would be no problem. We arrived one hour prior to check in and no room was available. We needed to use the lobby restroom. When we asked a staff member if they could get some paper towels for the restroom, we were waved away and told to just get them from the employee bathroom “over there”. When we finally checked in, our room on the first floor smelled old, musty and wet. We were told there were no other rooms available even after I told them of a severe mold allergy. We were given a bottle of Febreze and told that the smell would be investigated. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every step from the room above you. One of the worse hotels I've ever stayed in and at $160 a night, the worse value by far.

We have a team that stays there every year on a business trip. We all love this hotel. Good breakfast. Great location for downtown. The train, being right next door, may bother some people but I food quirky and fun.

I so much appreciate the kindness of each hotel representative. They were all kind helpful and very professional. My car was completely dead on my departure and Bob when out of his way to give me a jumper start. Even on my arrival I was having a hiccup with my card and the front desk clerk was very understanding and worked with me. Thank you to all the staff that made my stay a pleasant one. This is why I always prefer staying at the Best Western Casino Hornell Hotel.

Great value. Good location. Not much competetion. Ther aren't many hotels in the area, which is surprising since there are two two colleges in the immediate viciinity. They have a verry friendly staff, clean and quite rooms.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and good breakfast. They have what you need to get a good nights sleep. I guess the only negative thing I can say is that I hated the fact that every time my phone or device would go into sleep mode I would have to log in to the internet, but other than that everything was great.

The staff was very kind, from check in to breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The problem was the location: the Inn is right next to an active railroad line and we were awakened by a train whistle and the noise of a train in the early hours of the morning. If you go, definitely ask for a room that faces away from the front parking area which is closer to the railroad line.

Very nice place to stay the staff is wonderful and its very comfortable and pretty quiet. There are several different choices to eat near by within walking distance. Also there is a heated in door swimming pool.

During our stay...on the first night we were there another family walked into our room while we were there. Apparently after we checked in our room was given to another family. We had to go down to the desk to get our room key recoded so we were the only ones who has access to the room besides the cleaning staff. On the next day, we left around 7:30 am to tend to family business. When we returned at 4:30 our room had not been cleaned. When I asked if our room could be cleaned, the first response was, "Did you have the do not disturb sign on the door?". I replied "No" and someone was sent to clean our room. On the last full day there, we stayed in the room with the "Do not disturb" sign on the door until 11:30. After we left around 11:30 and returned around 5:00 our room was once again not cleaned (and yes, we took the Do not disturb sign down at 11:30). I asked the front desk if it could be cleaned and was informed that the cleaning staff was gone and they could give me fresh towels if I needed them and more shampoo/conditioner. We left the following morning. Yes, I did talk to someone at the front desk each time. Yes, I was polite and did not behave in a rude manner. When we checked out and I shared with the front desk that this was not a very good stay this time (we have stayed several times before). The response I got was, "Sorry you did not have a good stay. Try to have a nice day." This is the most expensive hotel in Hornell and it used to have great service. I don't know what happened to this hotel, but it appears to have gone downhill since we visited in January. So disappointed. Not the Best Western service I am familiar with.

Got a disability room for my mom. It was close to the handicap parking and comfortable. Swimming pool and breakfast were nice too. Staff I met were friendly and helpful. Ggfgvvgfffggbhbbbbbh extra characters.

Elegant, yet warm and inviting, this is another exemplary example of Best Western hospitality. Very nice pool, reception, and breakfast area. All Staff were friendly, supportive, and professional. My Rewards status allowed for a discount which brought the price down below other motels in the local area. Overall, a great experience which will inspire me to stay here again!

Spent a great Friday night with my family away from home. I will come back to stay again in the future. We enjoyed the pool, breakfast and the staff was friendly. Rooms were very clean and a big difference from years past love the remodel.

Nice place for short Stay. Wish they had a Suite Option for Long Stay. Rooms are clean and Staff is friendly. Breakfast is reasonable and does offer some choice. Only drawback I found was that limited Laundry Facility for long stay folks and not plowing the Parking lot after a snow fall. Location is convenient. Had issue with Hot water when they had semi full occupancy. Noise of foot Steps fro room above can be heard but overall tolerable..

I stayed at this Motel for Business. I found it to be Excellent and Clean. The staff couldn't be any more helpful, they were Great. The Breakfast was very good and fresh and Clean as everything else is in the Motel. I will be staying at this Motel again as I have Business in the area. This is a 5* establishment where you wouldn't expect it. The only thing is the Signage should be a little bit larger. Great Place, Try it!

This hotel was branded a Comfort Inn when I first began to stay here 15 years ago. The owner refused to update the facilities for a very long time, but because the staff is excellent at what they do, we continued to stay there. I much appreciate the renovations (completed 2 years ago) - which really amount to a much-needed cosmetic update - but the reason to stay is the staff: hard-working and very nice people.

The staff was very attentive to our needs. Nothing spectacular about the room but it was comfortable and nothing was wrong with it. We have stayed here this particular weekend for a long time. Wish the cost was a little less.

Place was spotless! Breakfast was outstanding! Beds were comfortable. Entire hotel smelled nice and clean. Friendly staff. Lots of places to shop and eat at. By far the best hotel in the area. We will be back for sure!!

After a very long drive from Cincinnati we were delighted the beds were very comfy! The room, the breakfast, the coffee. Everything was great. No complaints and I am very picky about a comfortable bed.

I stayed here the night before the RidgeWalk & Run in Wellsville. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was pristine and the towels were soft and fresh. The front desk attendant was helpful in suggesting places to eat to a traveler arriving after 8 p.m, The only downside were loud partiers, but that can happen at any hotel. They eventually died down. Overall, this is a fine place to stay.

Visited my daughter at Alfred U and this Best Western is my pick for all visits moving forward. Clean room, great beds, good breakfast, and only 15 minutes to the University. Centrally located near shops and places to eat.

This property has recently been remodeled and it is very clean and comfortable. The property is close to downtown and other venues in Hornell. I would recommend this property to anyone who is planning on staying in the Hornell area.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last decade or so when business took me to Hornell. The hotel is better now than just a few years ago. The large rooms and comfortable beds make this an easy choice. The good selection from the breakfast buffet also helps. The trains passing right next to the hotel and blowing their whistle can be very annoying in the evenings.

I booked this hotel for a visit with my daughter who attends college there and I have to say this was the most comfortable hotel stay I have ever had. I knew the moment we opened the room door that it was going to be a great experience. Room was bigger than most of your standard hotel rooms and it was very clean. The bedding was like I was sleeping on a cloud. I want this bedding in my own home! This Best Western will be the hotel that I book every time I come visit my daughter.

Unsure of what to expect, but when entered the horel was pleasantltly surprised. Although there was a slight musty smell to hallway and room, the hotel and room appeared to be very clean, the room extremely spacious and the bed was so very comfortable. I would say one of the best beds I've slept in when traveling. The hot breakfast was an added bonus...very nice.I would definitely stay again.

This is a great inexpensive hotel to stay at when in the area. We've been coming to this hotel for the last 3 years when we need to drop off or visit our son in college. It is clean with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious and clean. The free breakfast is good with fresh food and a large assortment.

Had the best time at the Best Western in Hornell, NY. The rooms were clean, well stocked with towels and such in the bathroom and had a refrigerator, cable TV, and DVD player as well as a coffee pot. Included Breakfast was incredible including waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, danishes, bagels, toast, cereals, and coffees to name a few.

Not the best experience I've had in a Hotel. Woke up with 2 bite marks on my stomach. Showed the photos to the front desk who said they's tell housekeeping. No on ever got back to me to say if there was a problem or what was done about it if there was one.

Check your receipt for bogus up-charges. During check out the hotel charged us $150 for "smoking weed!" WE DO NOT SMOKE WEED! Apparently the cleaning lady claimed she smelled weed near our room! When we disputed the accusations the manager was VERY RUDE and threatening! We had future plans to return again & visit the Finger Lakes and Wine Trails but now we'll go to the Poconos instead.

The room was very nicely set up. I liked the breakfast buffet very much. The indoor pool was very clean. The housekeeping staff were very kind and considerate. I was very impressed by the overall service of all of the staff including at the front desk. I will stay here again.

This is not our first visit to this hotel, but this time everything was super clean, smelled fresh and the entire experience was totally enjoyable. THe morning fresh waffle was wonderful and REAL butter, not some Spread made them delicious. The coffee was the best I have had outside of my own home. LOVED it!!!!!

Very nice hotel with a great staff. Rooms are nice and price is reasonable. There is a set of train tracks near the hotel and at times the train can be pretty loud. Just request a room on the opposite side and you won't hear it.

Visited the area for the Geneseo Air Show. Hornell is a nice small town America. Hotel was quiet, clean, friendly and professional. We stayed two nights and were very happy with out choice. Breakfast was well stocked and food choice varied.

When in Hornell, Ny. You need to stay at the Best Western Hotel, formerly a comfort Inn, this two story facility has recently been refurbished into a clean, comfortable hotel where the professional, knowledgeable staff makes every stay enjoyable.

hotel is clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast. quiet location. Pool and fitness area were nice. We were going to Wellsville ny and although 25 min away from where we were going, it was well worth the extra time.

Nice place with very good staff. I would stay again except for the cost, which was high for a location with no nearby attractions or visitor amenities. There are other hotels I would check out on next trip to the area, just to be closer to activities

Wedding in Upstate New York never been there the room was very clean and spacious I wish that breakfast was till check out which was at 11 a.m.. but breakfast only ran From 6 to 10 a.m. I like to shower before my breakfast and if I was able to shower and then go to breakfast I would have checked out after that but never got to have the breakfast. the hotel is lovely, the staff is terrible! I would recommend this hotel if they had new management. The front desk staff was nice, but the general manager was the worst. the hotel cancelled my reservation because she overbooked and then tried to blame travelocity. Was on the phone with travelocity for over an hour and they NEVER cancelled the reservation. Manager was rude and abrasive.

I recently stayed at this hotel and loved every minute. From the moment I walked in the front door by Vicky - till the time I checked out! Vicky was very welcoming and her customer service was EXCELLENT. She was friendly and had all the answers to any question i gave her from where to eat ... how to get where we needed to be... to saving popcorn for us when we came back at the end of the evening--- SHE ROCKS & so the the property!!! I will stay here again and again!

Over the past ten years, I've stayed at this motel several times. But this time, the rooms and hallways, lobby and breakfast room seemed much improved. The woman who greeted me at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She completed my check-in quickly. When I went up to my room, I was pleased with the redecorated rooms with queen sized beds and nice linens. The bathroom was convenient. The view out of the room toward the neighborhood was filled with trees. One of the new perks was an elevator to the second floor located in the middle of the main hallway. The room was quiet as was the hallway, but there were quite a few people staying over night. I used the computer in a room off the lobby several times and I enjoyed the popcorn in the lobby. In the morning, the breakfast was tasty and the breakfast room seemed to handle the number of guests well There was an indoor pool off the lobby, but I decided not to use it as I would have been the only person there. The exercise room, near the pool, was filled with equipment. I had such a good time on my way east, that I decided to stay at the motel again on my way home. I called the motel from about 50 miles away and was able to secure room for that night. My second room was well appointed, too. Both rooms were significant improvements over that previous times I'd stayed there, some ten years ago. The staff at the front desk introduced me to the Best Western perks for multiple visits to other motels in the chain. I will definitely seek out other Best Western hotels when I travel. The hotel is about 5 miles from the Interstate. But it is convenient to the local hospital in case you have a family member there.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Above average breakfast. Evening popcorn :) Overall good value for the price. The staff was fantastic! ( Very friendly and helpful ) A++ I would definitely stay here the next time in town.

The free breakfast looked ok until I saw the worker bring out scrambled eggs in the bag she microwaved them in. That made me decide to take my family to Dunkin Donuts on our way to the softball fields instead. Our first night stay we hardly slept because the people above us let their children run and jump around most of the night and when I called the front desk at 11:15 pm to ask them to quiet them down I was told to give the 15 more minutes. I called down again at 11:30 explaining that I had to have my family up at 5:30 to play in a softball tournament I was told that there was nothing she could do to quiet them and I needed to try to ignore the noise. I will not be back nor would I recommend this Best Western. I will say that the room was clean and spacious.

Friendly, helpful staff; clean, updated look; decent breakfast selection; indoor pool and fitness center. Noise level was minimal despite being full with people attending 2 area reunions and a local wedding. In the downtown area so stores and restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed here during my brother's graduation with our baby. It was quiet and clean and the staff were very friendly. Excellent location as well as it is conviently located. Would stay here again.

1/2" thick BLACK MOLD blooming around the perimeter ridge of the bathtub under the faucet -- Looks like it's never been cleaned! You can't see it when you take a shower but God forbid you sit for a bath! (or when children are taking a bath!) When I brought it to the attention of the checkout clerk (including a tissue with some of the black mold on it), I asked for the manager to call me -- horribly slow response from GM Kelly. She didn't call me until after I contacted Corporate a week later! Even then, she offered us only one free night stay there (like I would want to stay there again?) Seriously? Initially refused our request for a refund! Then, after my repeated phone calls with corporate, she begrudgingly gave us a refund for one of our 2 night stay -- though I'm sure the black mold didn't just pop up overnight! Avoid this place at all costs! For being newly remodeled, it is a huge disappointment! GM Kelly is more concerned about standing her ground & making $$ than about taking ownership for filth in the bathroom & making the customer happy. Beyond gross!

Best hotel in the Hornell/Alfred area. Lobby is nicely done, breakfast area is nice (maybe a little crowded) and the breakfast spread is very good. Clean rooms, plenty of space and the beds are actually very comfortable.

We chose this hotel when planning to attend open house at Alfred State college, it was about 20 minutes to the school. The hotel was small, but very clean and the beds were very comfortable! The indoor heated pool was nice! Would definitely stay here again!

The price is right, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is free and fills the belly. The internet works, the staff is pleasant, the housekeeping staff respects the "Do Not Disturb" signs. They are friendly and accommodating. The beds are kind to my aging back. It's a reasonable drive to AU and Alfred State. Couldn't ask for more.

After 2 long days of visiting our daughter and friends, it was wonderful to come back to the Best Western for a delightful and relaxing swim, grabbing a cup of delicious coffee and getting a great night's sleep in one of the most comfortable beds we have had in a hotel...Staff was welcoming, pleasant and always smiling. Even the other hotel guests responded in kind.

This was a great hotel. The staff was helpful and our room was great and the bed VERY comfortable! We asked about the area and the staff provided information. Breakfast had many choices and was good. The waffles were great!

Good review no issues other than having more choice of gluten free breakfast other than eggs , meat and fruit. pillows of lesser " fill " inside them would be better . the only sleep issue was that the room was too dry and there really was no way to control that even w heat shut off.

Came to Best Western on a Football Recruiting visit at Alfred University for my son. The hotel is located about 15-20 minutes from the college. If you visit the college and drive to this hotel at night, make sure to take the main roads because the back route at night is extremely creepy and dark. The hotel overall is decent as we only stayed 1 night in the king suite. This is the perfect hotel for a short stay.

The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated; a complete redo from before when we stayed. All new carpets and bedding, new business room and market area. The nicest hotel in the area and worth the price.

They have upgraded and renovated. A very pleasant surprise! They were very nice at the front desk. We checked in with no problems. We were able to obtain a late checkout! Rooms were clean and fresh. It's an easy access off the highway and was a bonus. free breakfast was helpful. cost was average.

Every weekend during the Southern Zone big game hunting season we stay at this Best Western. It's comfortable and they really do a good job catering to the hunters. If you are not a hunter, I would probably avoid this hotel the third weekend in November if you are a non-hunter. Everyone is up early and we can make a bit of a racket early.

Located only a few miles from several of the western Finger Lakes, we enjoyed a long weekend away exploring the lakes and admiring the leaves still on the trees this fall. Very much enjoyed our two day trips around several of the lakes, while having a base each evening an morning to enjoy good accommodations with full breakfast. Hornell has several reasonably priced restaurants and, beyond my mention above of the beautiful Finger Lakes, is within striking distance of the Glenn Curtiss Museum of Flight in nearby Hammondsport. A lot of aviation history there!

Staff were very friendly, which included front desk and housekeeping. The rooms were very clean. We stayed on the first floor which was noisy but nothing to keep up from staying again. Breakfast was good. Coffee was great!

Friendly, clean, comfortable hotel. We've stayed here a few times over the last two years as we have a child in college nearby. It has changed names a couple of times but the staff and quality has remained the same or gotten better. The continental breakfast is comparable to most type breakfasts that are served in hotel lobbies. It's great for a quick eat before starting your day but not an elaborate meal. The rooms have been updated recently and are comfortable and clean. Will stay here again.

Clean and comfortable. The breakfast is what you would expect. I was here on business and glad I stayed here. The room is welcoming, and the bed is comfortable. It is quiet as far as people noise goes. There is a train that comes through. There are restaurants, gas, convenience stores and churches near by.

Good location for the town, exceptionally clean with a wonderful staff. The room was well appointed for the price, close by you have Wegmans and Walmart for most things. Main street is a 5 min walk/drive. What was impressive was the staff attitude to customers, always willing to go that extra to satisfy. There is a warm pool and an exercise room.

Great Staff, very clean, highly recommended! I have been staying in this hotel for 10 years when I am working in the area. I have tried others and this one by far exceeds any others. The beds are very comfortable, the staff accommodating, the breakfast pretty good. Walking distance to several places for dinner. The hotel also has a huge selection of DVD's and each room has a DVD player. This is at no charge! I highly recommend this location!

This hotel is overpriced. Turning on the heat set off our smoke detector, staff found it acceptable. At breakfast staff were seen eating while working, they discontinued breakfast while people were still trying to get their food and then made themselves breakfast with the food they took away. Original room keys did not work, we had to walk back to the front desk to get new ones hoping they worked when we got back to our room. The pool hours were nice.

This is where we choose to stay while we are in town visiting our son at Alfred University. It is close to the main town of Hornell,NY which holds the local WalMart, Wegemans and more. Clean, friendly and accommodating.

Hornell is not a very inspiring town and this hotel is located in a rather run-down area. As we entered to register, we could see the breakfast area straight on and a rather large family had their pizza dinner spread throughout, generally creating a visual mess. Check-in and check-out were unmemorable. Our room was fairly average. In-room Wi-Fi didn't work. 'Welcome' chocolates were weird in taste and texture. Breakfast was good. Not up to the high standards I expect of the BW brand. We stayed here due to relative proximity to Letchworth State Park without having to backtrack from Geneseo (we were traveling northward).

We come to this property almost once every year and it has gone through many names and changes. It's location is very good and off the road so that there is no road noise but don't be startled when an occasional fright train roars through the nigjt - a sound I actually enjoy. The whole place has been updated and the room are clean, great beds and furniture, a good breakfast and cheerful staff. I am happy to pay more - it is worth it and look forward to my next stay!

The BW Maple City Inn is THE PLACE to stay in Hornell, NY. The staff is attentive, the rooms are clean, you can't beat the complimentary breakfast, and there just isn't a better option. The Hornell BW is conveniently located near Alfred University and Alfred State.

I really recommend this hotel, specially for families whose son or daughter is attending any of the Alfred Universities as it's close by and easy to get to. The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, there was a variety of selections and the pool was relaxing.

I have been on assignment in this locale for over a year and this hotel has become my "home away from home". The staff is caring and courteous and the place is well maintained. It is the premier of hotel accommodations that you will find in this area.

a very nice quality stay for the price with all the amenities you would expect for a team and family. the beds and pillows were outstanding as well as the cleanliness! the location was at the center of town with access to shopping and eating within a 2mile radius. the kids loved the free popcorn and the pool

Perfectly acceptable property: common areas are decently sized, pool fine, fitness center better than average, rooms clean but with the usual lack of sufficient lighting. The property is close to train tracks, but there aren't many trains in this part of NY (maybe one train at around 6 in the morning). Breakfast was the typical, budget-quality food and selection, but what I expect at this price point. One rude front desk clerk, one very nice one.

Rather than stay here you'd do better anywhere else within fifty miles. Our shower was full of mold and we were told "they clean it with bleach so it is fine." The hotel was supposedly full so we weren't offered another room or any compensation. Add the that the floor above us sounded like it was going to collapse when the person walked on it so sleep was a challenge. I rarely write negative reviews but this place deserves one.

we were on our way to a Funeral/Memorial Service in Jamestown New York and we were so tired we took the first Hotel we could find. I was disappointed because the people upstairs were running for hours in their rooms. The A/C was too loud

We stayed here for a few days, while visiting nearby relatives. What a pleasant place to stay! The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Our room was large, quiet and extremely clean and well maintained. Actually the whole facility was in very good condition. We used the fitness area...where they had quite a few functioning pieces of equipment to use...again a very clean facility. And the room wasn't really hot and humid, like many of these places can be. We were most impressed with the pool area...which can get run down quickly... but this was very clean, and also had some features which we were surprised to see. They have a lift to allow disabled people to get into the water. I am sure that would be appreciated by many. Beds were comfortable...a very pleasant place to stay, and I would certainly return there, the next time we are in the area.

This is a great hotel for attending activities at Alfred University/State. It's only an 11 mile drive, that is a straight shot through Almond. This hotel is within walking distance of a drug store, and downtown and restaurants (though a car makes it easier). I have stayed here every time I've traveled to Alfred, and I recommend early reservations when attending graduation.

We stay here all the time about 3 times a year since our son is at AU, the staff is great, the rooms are newly redone with amazing beds and pillows, all rooms have refrig and microwave. Its a great location and near the only "real" shopping area for the school. Higly recommend this hotel and don't forget your swimming suit and room for popcorn as there is always some in the machine in the lobby to go with your coffee. Breakfast is also very good and included.

Have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed even when this facility was a Comfort Inn. Now branded and upgraded as a Best Western, it's better than ever. I come here about six times a year for as much as 10 days and always come away satisfied. Darlene on the front desk always assigns me a comfortable, clean and spacious suite, while Kari of Housekeeping keeps the place spic and span, more so than even my home is. Can't ask for more. A recently installed elevator makes reaching a second floor easy, particularly as I use a walker. The rooms are quiet and the amenities excellent although the Weather Channel on television features Binghamton, about 140 miles to the east, rather than Hornell. Breakfast is excellent, featuring eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cold cereal, fruit (including bananas with a hand-written message on 'em), and grapes. The meals just start the day right. Off Route 36 immediately south over the railroad bridge, the motel is close to downtown Hornell. A nearby rail line brings trains through every few hours, but they don't bother me as I live in a house immediately adjacent to a busy railroad track. If trains bother you, request a room on the other side of the motel. Can't wait to get back again.

I stay here all the time. It is BY FAR, the best place to stay in the Hornell. Recently remodeled. The rooms are as nice as a higher end Hilton since the remodel. The check-in service is always great. The cleaning service is hit or miss. Every other hotel is dreadful. The breakfast is basic. The remodel also made the rooms far more quiet. The wifi is good as well.You can DL movies and it's free.

We stay here twice a year to take our daughter to and from school, she attends Alfred University. This hotel was renovated recently so everything is new and clean. We take full advantage of the amenities, we take a dip in the pool, use the exercise room and enjoy the full breakfast they officer. There is simple no complaint about this hotel. NONE.

I've been using this hotel for a few years [rior to Best Western taking over. Its always been fine but now all the beds are new. The rooms and lobby have been redone and the staff is great. I will be staying there again.

What a wonderful stay. We had work to do in canisteo and chose to stay overnight last minute. What a great choice. This Hotel is CLEAN! CLEAN! ,staff is very nice ,breakfast very good, and the beds are wonderful. If you are in the area and need to or just want to stay, don't hesitate, you will be very impressed. Maybe you would expect an hotel more related with the area, but this is a simple and standard hotel. For the area is good. Unluckily the hotels of this part of the state are not so cheap, sad with no amenities and poor in service. Something good is the heated pool and the gym. Nothing spectacular, but they get points with them. The best, with no question, is the cleanness of the room and bathroom.

I have a child attending Alfred Univ. This is the only hotel that we stay at when visiting him. Recently renovated and we love the new look and updates, not so crazy about the new updated rates though, but will not stay anywhere else. Breakfast is nice, enough choices to satisfy anyone. Staff is friendly.

We stayed here after nine hours of driving and exhaustion. Not having made a reservation and still being offered a room made us happy (unlike a Best Western in the previous town) Pros: -Bed/bedding very comfortable -Decent location (although the 7/11 down the street was sketchy as heck) -Friendly staff Cons: -Train tracks behind the hotel (train rumbling through complete with it's horn blowing throughout the night) -Paper thin walls, could hear our neighbours beside us and upstairs -Very loud water pipes in the walls -The heater/ac woke us up every time it turned on during the night -a gross and questionable stain in the bathroom that made me wonder if it had even been cleaned after the previous occupant

We stayed at this hotel in October 2015 when we checked in the front desk person was helpful.the overnight desk person. had a poor attitude when I complained about the dryer in guest laundry room and when i asked for change for the dryer. The breakfast room attendant took down the breakfast room 5 minutes before closing time while someone was still getting food. she was not accomondating she should have asked if they was done before taking down the breakfast. The breakfast room attendant left the trash cart in front of guests while. they were eating & was not wearing a hair net ,was improperly cleaning. Surfaces in the room using a dirty towel to wipe the waffle machine & other unsanitary procedures. Overall it. Was satisfactory but the staff could be more friendly & helpful Also spent $6.00 for the dryer and the clothes were not dry the desk person would not give a refund

We've stayed at the Best Western in Hornell before and it's service has always been outstanding. The people working there make you feel at home in every way possible. An excellent stay for all the family. We love this Best Western in Hornell NY.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The best part was a late night swim. I loved the pool. I stayed at the hotel to visit my son for his birthday. He attends a local college. I stay here every time I visit. I tried another hotel in the area once and it was the worst. This is the only place I ever consider when I visit my son.

I stayed here while my daughter was at a college visit. The hotel was pretty full and I had the room next to the front desk/breakfast area, yet it was not noisy. The immediate surrounding area is nothing much but the hotel is clean and comfortable. Looks like it was updated fairly recently. Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy, but good selection.

This is an overpriced for the area hotel they was cosmetically updated but they didn't fix the noisy rooms. Stay on the second floor because the floors creak. Also the internet is very slow. The beds were good and the pool was warm but the noisy rooms were discomforting.

We were checking out on a Sunday. Breakfast was until 10am (of which on a Sunday should be a little later). We got to the breakfast area at 9:50 to find most of the food cleaned up already. We figured ok, no biggie we will just get juice. When my husband tried to get juice the machine was off. The staff that was cleaning up saw this and didn't even offer to flip the switch back on so we could at least get juice. We chose this hotel because breakfast is included in the rate. My husband and I will be traveling to this area for the next two years for business and was looking to set up an account with this particular hotel but have changed our minds since.....very disappointed.

This is a great place to stay when we needed to go to Alfred, for my daughter to visit the college she will be attending in the fall. The room was clean, comfortable and very nicely furnished. The breakfast area is a little small, but the food was a-ok and coffee and tea are available in the lobby 24 hrs. The breakfast staff was really friendly- just wished it stayed open a little longer, was only 6 to 9:30 am.. 10:30 close time would be better! The staff was extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. Has a nice pool and workout room and a spacious area for computer usage. We will definitely be staying there whenever we visit my daughter at college !

I booked this room through a non-refundable deal on Best Western's website reservation number 657633548. My Rate was for $101.99 and $12.24 in tax, a total of $114.23. Upon check in I put that amount on my credit card and thought all was done. I received an alert at 2:05 AM on my phone by my credit card company that the hotel was trying to charge my card $20.16. I found it odd that someone would be trying to charge my card at 2 am. The next morning I went to check out and to investigate what they were trying to charge my card for. The lady at the front desk was having processing my check out. She said that my credit card company declined the charge, she kept saying you shouldn't have been able to check in if your cared was declined. I explained to her that it wasn't, showed her the receipt form check in and the authorization on my account. I said are you referring to $20.16 you tried to charge me at 2am? She then had to call over the manager. The clerk then said to me I see what happened you were undercharged when you checked in, the rate for that room is $119.99 plus tax, they didn't charge you enough. I said no I booked the room through your website and it was $101.99 with no cancellation available. She said well the computer says here $119 that is why it tried to charge you more. I then took out my reservation confirmation proving that my rate was $101.99 plus tax. The manager agreed that she should change the system and process the check out. The staff was professional about the whole thing. My main issues are you charged my card $20.16 without my authorization. What if I hadn't received the alert from my credit card company? How many people do you scam out of $20.16 without them noticing? That is certainly not a business practice that makes me want to frequent your hotel chain.

I was in Hornell for the funeral of brother-in-law. I found this Best Western establishment to be so comforting from the desk clerk who sympathized with me, with a very pleasant attitude on my arrival. My room was clean, the pool most relaxing after the first evening at funeral home, slept well, very quiet, breakfast was very good and nourished me until a lunch with family. I felt very safe as your desk clerk verified with me when Family member came to pick me up and did not know my room number. Most commendable . I will use your facility again .

Staff were extremely attentive to salting sidewalks and clearing snow. I am used to another hotel chain due to expense reimbursement constraints. But this hotel was rebranded from another hotel at the same location and is much better than what was previously at this site. Closet height is way too low for tall people. Housekeeping needs to pay attention to detail. Coffee was replaced but not the toiletries or plastic liner for the ice bucket. Coffee cups were replaced, but not the water cups. Ottoman was not wiped down. Combination A/C/Heat unit constantly blew hot air (OK at least it was winter) so room temp went up to 80 degrees. Tried to turn on A/C and it just kept pumping heat. Then when I turned off machine the room got comfortable and started to cool. Then I turned on the machine and got cold air! Bathroom exhaust fan was very loud and disturbing. Had to unplug the fan. They need non-skid mats by the elevator, because an entrance at that location causes the floor to get wet and slippery. I would stay again at this brand in this city because it is better than other options, but if I had available the brand I am accustomed to staying with, I would probably choose that brand over this one. I repeat, this place is miles ahead of anything else in this city, they just have to get some of the details fixed.

Hotel has been renovated. Rooms are new, comfortable. Breakfast is good. This hotel beat my expectations, especially for a small town, very nice. Highly recommend. If you are looking for a decent price with better than average accommodations, consider staying here.

Was traveling on business. Rooms were clean and comfortable, Staff was friendly and helpful, Breakfast was fulfilling. If passing through Hornell again Best Western would be my first choice. Thank you!

Great Hotel. Very clean and friendly staff. I get a great breakfast. Coffee is available all day. Internet services are first class and if I am late coming or leaving, staff never complains. The poo is a great added feature

Served the purpose, bed and a shower. Small town, few options, but the Best Western met my needs. This was a business trip, last time I stayed here personally I had a minor issue with a staff member. The management made good on my comments and refunded my money. I did not ask for this, but they wanted me to return, that's why I did.

This hotel is clean and comfortable which is what I wanted. Rest was what I needed and the room met that. Thought the hotel is a bit over-priced based on other BW's hotels I've stayed at. But, it was what I needed on rather short notice. I'd recommend it if you find yourself in Dansville and in need of a place to stay. Was a little out of the way relative to the interstate but was fairly easy to find.

this is a great hotel and the best in the town. wonderful customer service. the breakfast is great. The rooms are nice and big. The only annoying thing is that when you turn on the light in the bathroom, the fan is on as well; kind of noisy. But a minor detail. Nice fitness room and although I am not sure why they keep the treadmill key at the front desk instead of attached to the machine.

We stayed for two nights while picking up and dropping off my son to the local college. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and modern. We even had a DVD player in the room with free movies available. The free breakfast was great. Everything was clean. We paid a little bit more than some of the other hotel chains, but you know what they say, "you get what you pay for. The only thing is, if you are handicapped, and need a shower chair, bring your own, they don;t have one.

This is really less about the hotel than it is with a website they are using to book reservations. I booked a room using choosearoom.com and then needed to cancel. I called the hotel and was redirected to the choosearoom site to cancel. I attempted to use the "Cancel reservation" button the website - it failed. Then I called the 800 number listed on the website and was disconnected on three straight phone calls. I called the hotel back expressing my frustrations, and a very helpful lady attempted to help me cancel with choosearoom. She called back 30 minutes later telling me that she had succeeded in cancelling the reservation. This morning I received the room charge from choosearoom, so it looks like her attempt at cancelling the reservation failed also. Stay away from choosearoom.com at all costs.

Stayed here while visiting family in Dansville. Very clean, modern, good amenities & beds are comfortable. Exceptional service both at the front desk and from the cleaning crew (Christina was very accomdating). If you leave really early they will fill your coffee mug and have it waiting for you; that was a very nice touch! Will be back!

the rooms were very nice. the staff very friendly and nice breakfast. has indoor pool open till midnight. used to live in Hornell years back. We were quite happy with the over all stay for 2 days. Would stay there again.

This hotel has been beautifully remodeled. The rooms, hallways and lobby smelled clean and fresh. Everything in the room was perfect. Beds were very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They use the new key cards where you just hold the card up to the door and the door unlocks. Very nice touch, no fumbling as to how the cards gets swiped through the slot. The hot breakfast in the morning was wonderful!

Beware of them charging you for smoking in the room (obviously to just get more money--maybe trying to pay for their recent remodel/brand change) when you absolutely did NOT. When I noticed the strange charge on my credit card the day after I checked out, I immediately called to find out what it was for (and it was also showing up on my charge card as a different named hotel). The woman who answered tried looking it up by my room number only to say that someone else was already staying in the room so she had to do it by my last name (1st clue there was no substance to their accusation--someone else already checked into the room they supposedly had to clean/purify). When I explain there is a mistake because I don't smoke (I was there alone for a business presentation the next morning) I'm told the manager is away for the week at a training but is available via email. I emailed the manager and I receive a response that evening from her (along with a separate revised bill with the $150 charge on it along with a notation saying "pot smoking in room" next to the charge emailed directly from the hotel) saying "I have full confident in my staff while I am away, and they are stating that there was pot smoking in the room. That the smell was going into the hallway as well." (The incorrect word form along with sentence structure is what I received as the response) So not only am I accused of smoking in the room but now falsely accused of smoking an illegal substance in the room. Of course at this point, I'm not only livid about the charge but at the absurd accusation! I email the manager back explaining there is obviously a serious mistake--I'm a 50 year old business woman who checked in at 9pm only to microwave a quick meal (which I also explained did melt the plastic container while heating--which is in the garbage next to micro--maybe this is the smell?) and work on the flip charts and material I needed for the next morning. I again kindly asked for the return of the charge or to send me the owner information along with their insurance liability info if they were not going to return the charge. I also emailed the hotel directly requesting a copy of the original paperwork I signed when I checked in. Of course there has been NO response (now 2 full days later). I also contacted the corporate office (it doesn't take much to find out this info) and have left 2 messages...still NO response. They not only are falsely accusing/charging people but they then WON'T even return your calls/emails (great customer service). This company also owns hotels throughout western NY and PA (I will stay clear of those also since I frequently travel out there for business). I tried to handle this issue directly with the business for the unfounded charge but I will now handle it with my charge card company (lets not forget the charge is showing up as a different hotel on my bill than the paperwork I signed when I checked in, including the room charge). In the past 2 months, I have stayed at 6 different hotels for business (this is a normal occurrence). I have NEVER had an experience such as this! I can't believe they had the audacity to make such an accusation without any proof whatsoever! If there truly was such a smell coming from the room, so much so that it "was going into the hallway", then why didn't the staff call the local police to handle the illegal matter?

Having never stayed in Hornell, we figured a Best Western Hotel would be a good choice for a pre football game at Alfred University, a good call! The hotel is still undergoing a bit of a facelift as sanding/painting was underway near the elevator. The rooms at this Best Western were a good size, clean and noticeably, recently upgraded. The pool was also good sized unfortunately, there wasn't a hot tub which would have been a bonus. Towel quality seemed to be a holdover from the Comfort Inn days-thin and smallish. Breakfast, while not spectacular, was satisfactory, better than some not as complete as other Best Westerns. The only 2 small issues were: a room refrigerator which ran too often and a bit too loudly, a small annoyance. Second, an issue with most hotels, the heating/air conditioning unit didn't have a setting to run the fan setting. The choices appeared to be either heat or air conditioning to a set temperature, no other options, no "white noise" possibilities. Two final "perks", the TV channels available were very good and the internet was quick and reliable.

We usually don't stay in Hornell while visiting my daughter at college because the hotels were never smoke free and they were very run down. This hotel has been completely renovated. All new carpets, beds, lobby, TV's, etc. It is smoke free and the smell was very good. It has a full complimentary breakfast (not just continental). A nice pool and fitness center. Fast free wifi. This is truly more of a 2.5 to 3.0 star hotel. It is a little more pricey than hotels in the area but if you stay for 3 nights you do get a discount that makes the price closer.

We have family in Hornell so regularly stay here. It has changed from the old worn down Comfort Inn to a Best Western. The room has been upgraded with comfy beds, fridge and microwave. It has definitely been improved since our last visit. The exterior and lobby have also been freshened up.

I have been staying here on business for two years. Staff are always great. The remodel makes this hotel better than the Hampton Inn that I stay in when I am in Orchard Park! I especially love the new mattresses and the sanitized remote control!

The service was great, they are all very kind. The room was beautiful they even have a special tv remote to promote the cleanliness. It's little details that matter when you want to stay at a hotel. They have a pool and gym. Breakfast was delicious! Overall I'm happy with my stay it's worth it. The only thing that may bother other is that it next to a railroad so the trains at night may bother you if you are sensitive about noise. It only passes by once in every 5-6 hours. I didn't mind it I barely heard it.
