I would not recommend this hotel. My reservation was for 1 night but I was charged for 4 nights. I called the hotel and they first, said they would look into it. I didn't get a call back. One week later I called again and they said they showed I signed a document for an extended stay. I was in Texas for 1 night and could not have possibly stayed longer. The frustrating part is that the hotel staff was extremely unaccommodating and wouldn't listen to reason. The manager still has not reached out to speak to me personally. Instead they've opted yo steal $500 from me. Do not stay here. Buyer beware.
In my more than 50 years of business travel I have never stayed in a more dirty hotel. The first room we were assigned had a stopped up toilet. We were moved to the room next door, also a handicapped room. The bed coverlet was dirty and when we turned down the bed, we found the bottom sheet was also stained. We moved to the second bed in the room. The next morning I found two colors of hairs in the bathroom sink. My wife found hair from others on the shower walls and tub floor. When I stepped into the tub for a shower after walking on the hard flooring in the room, I created puddles of mud from the dirt on the bottom of my feet. The bathroom mirror had a long, blond hair stuck to the mirror. The carpeted hotel hallway had not been vacuumed in days and was covered in dirt, gravel, dead insects and grass. I talked to the manager, Shanae, the next day about the dirty conditions. She look at the conditions and we discussed the dirty hall carpet. She said they cannot find enough housekeeping staff, to which I replied, "If I were the owner and the manager, I would get a vacuum and vacuum the hall carpets at a minimum!" The manager did not offer to use a vacuum cleaner herself nor did she offer a room discount for the dirty conditions. I will certainly never go back to this hotel.
The handicap facilities were excellent with a true roll in shower, raised toilet, and plenty of grab bars. The bench in the shower was quite sturdy. The room was quite large and very clean. it was also nice not to have carpeting making it easier for use of a walker or wheelchair.
Did not feel welcomed checking in. Once we get to our room there were bugs by the door (several), we called the front desk and they asked if we could pick them up, followed by a “what do you want me to do” Once the lady in the front came to clean she said “it happens” didn't offer anything. Would not stay here again or recommend staying here.
Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Great outdoor seating area ( cigar smoker here) Easy parking. Easy access to room corridors and lobby. Staff was friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable about the area.
The most sour people that work the desk, especially Isabel, never once did she smile or say anything other than business. Even, when I called asking about a hairdryer, she was very curt and told me, in a closet in a bag, then hung up!! The breakfast was sub par, biscuits that had to have been days old and hard as a rock. Absolutely, not walking distance to town !!! Room was fine, but lumpy pillows. After reading the reviews here, I'm sure I'll get an auto generated apology!! BW, is better than this .. or I have been use to so much better!! Stay elsewhere, if courtesy means anything to you!
Our room was very clean and comfortable, except for the lumpy pillows. Despite the pillows we got an excellent night's sleep. Renee was very helpful with our check in and handling our special requests. The pool was very nice. Besides the pillows the only other negative was the slow internet.
Styed for three nights.. never was able to get an internet connection thru the hotel wifi. Bathroom commode seat was very loose and sliding around - flush lever fell into the commode tank. Management seemed to not be concerned. Elevator also had problems with the door not opening on the second floor. Had to use the staircase..
This is a lovely property. I especially liked the lobby area and the rocking chairs on the porch. It's not smack in the middle of downtown, but close enough. I would definitely stay here again.
Good clean rooms excellent check in staff easy to make reservations good price paid and enjoyed my stay.
Stayed 1 night in room 104. The hotel is clean and cute BUT….for the amount of money per night, not worth it. The air circulation is poor. The room would not stay warm. The temp outside was 55. Had the heater to 78 because it was so cold in the room. The pillows were like laying on rocks. The only blankets provided was a flat sheet which was very tethered, my arms kept getting caught in the threading, and a ragged thermal. The towels were dingy and old. The floor is vinyl/wood, so we could hear every creak from the upstairs guest. The toilet ran all night. And it sounded like a dog was barking all night. My husband thought it might have been plumbing noises and not a dog barking. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it.
Needs upgrade and smiling employees. Rooms are dark and windows are covered. When u open window shade windows are cloudy and dirty on outside. Tv selection was good though lol. Breakfast lacking with limited supply of food.
hours ago on Google I was charged for two nights and only reserved one night January the 26 2024 I talked to the lady at front desk she informed me that she canceled one of the charges. When I got back to Florida the charge was still on my card I called the hotel they assured me that it was my bank and not them. I called my bank and disputed the charge I just received a letter in the mail my bank informed me after talking to best western plus it was a ligit charge so basically the hotel lied to me and stole 164.00 dollars from me. I will never go to another best western hotel ever. They were rude to me about it also
When we entered the hotel, we were greeted with smiles. The atmosphere was cozy and not very busy. The hotel was very clean. We enjoyed the wrap around porch area with the rocking chairs. Was please with the cost and nearness to the main strip although not walking distance.
Great size room, well decorated, excellent shower, very clean, good hot breakfast, quiet, well lit parking area, friendly staff, and reasonably priced. Nothing to improve. Will definitely stay here again.
We recently became interested in the Wine Tasting experience and have found Fredericksburg to be a great place to do it. There are over 70 wineries close by with many different types of experiences and the Best Western is a great starting off point for whichever one you want to visit first. Its very convenient, a few minutes to downtown shopping, downtown wine tasting or travel down the road to wineries on either side of the highway. You can't just go one time because there are too many to try out. Beckers winery location was my favorite downtown and we loved the Auslanders German cuisine! We know our stay will be great at Best Western Fredericksburg and that's one less thing to worry about when you are traveling down the road.
Last time I stayed here, I gave the place 5 stars. This time, 2. Why? The general manager is extremely rude....plain & simple. He must not know he's in the, "Hospitality" business. Floors in my room were greasy. I was worried I was going to fall. I cleaned them with soap. When I told them the next morning, he blamed it on chemicals they are using, because of COVID! What a joke. Will never stay here again.
Not far from Main Street but far enough to be a quiet location. The hotel was clean and bed very comfortable. Black out shades were installed in case one wanted to sleep in. My room was near the elevator but I didn't hear it at all. There were many breakfast items to choose from including healthy yogurt, fruit and oatmeal options as well as biscuits and gravy or the Texas shaped waffles.
Unique place with rocking chairs on the porch. Seems to fit the town. The room wasclean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good with many choices. Some people find the coffee machine hard to understand, but once you get the hang of it you have many choices. A great, reasonable place to stay. The person at the desk was helpful in suggesting a really good German Restaurant.
We have stayed here a few times and the service is always good. However, the rooms are starting to really show their age. Needs updating and renovations for sure. Also, change up the breakfast please! It also needs a deep cleaning!!! Starting to smell like wet dogs in there. We may stay there again but also would like to try out the newer hotels in town. We do love BW though! Staff is great!
The room was barely cool in 98 degree weather outside. The coffee was horrible. The remote couldn't bring up the guide. Our beds were not made. We understood no clean sheets every day but at least beds made.
Wow! This place was so comfortable and with the most amazing friendly staff I've ever been too (I used to travel on a world tour too)! Extreme shout out to Sherry that serviced us as we checked in and made sure we were happy at all times and had a servant heart. She understood our needs and blessed us in more ways than I can say. They had free continental breakfast with many choices and was good tasting too. TVs to watch during breakfast and one of the best showers I've ever taken in a hotel room (maybe in my life lol). The price was just right, because of the place and people were great! I def recommend and def will be back!
We called in from McAllen to make a reservation. The Desk Clerk was very friendly and very helpful. I thought I had a Best Western Card, but apparently I didn't. The Clerk took my information and when we got there, she had turned in the paperwork needed to get me a card. Very friendly people and great rooms.
Very nice hotel. The staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was good. Our room was clean and spacious. We would recommend staying here. They have a nice pool that we enjoyed using after the Texas heat during the day. Close to shopping and restaurants.
It was a very nice stay. I felt very safe. Grounds were very clean with chairs outside for sitting. Breakfast had protein and lots of other choices. Internet worked but not perfect. I was not there to work. It is close to historic district.
We travel to Fredericksburg every year to see the Christmas lights and do a bit of shopping. We always stay at this hotel because it is such a convenient location and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good location, close to downtown and all of the restaurants but not so close to the noise and traffic. The staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices. The room was very clean except bad odor when AC was turned off.
We had stayed at this hotel back in the spring. It was a terrible experience. One of the staff members that we dealt with was rude and spiteful. We couldn't get our room cleaned or room supplies replenished. After staying at many other Best Westerns, I knew this was not the norm so decided to give them another chance. This time everything was great.
The comforter had several cigarette burn marks, the wash cloths still had poop streaks on them, the remote control was so sticky it stuck to the couch. We told front desk but nothing was done. Will not be staying there ever again
Pillow case, shower curtain and carpet had stains. Bath floor edge grout was mostly gone, lampshade kept falling off, window shutter wouldn't stay open and room had very strong bleach odor which took 7-8 hours to dissipate, dining room coffee dispenser was problematic for 3 days. Overall room was just extremely tired.
Quick one night stay to tour some wineries. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Overall the hotel seemed quite clean but some of our friends woke up with swollen eyes and sneezing and coughing. The air conditioners in the rooms are quite old and probably filters need a good cleaning. The air conditioner in my room was intermittently quite noisy. I mentioned this upon checkout so hopefully it will be resolved for future guests. Complementary breakfast was just OK. Breakfast room was very clean. Coffee was horrible. It is dispensed out of the machine. Choices are light roast medium roast dark roast. Not sure if the machine needed servicing but everyone in our group agreed the coffee was just not drinkable. Hotel is located a bit of a distance from the main drag. It was an easy Uber ride in for dinner. Overall it was a clean quiet place to stay.
Several times met by smoking of employee at front door area where guests must enter Lady working in dining was a jewel Parking lot was clean sidewalks clean and floors in hotel clean Dining room very clean too
Stay was for pleasure. Nice location for the price. Very clean. Comfortable mattress. Good service. Quiet location. Breakfast was the usual warm and cold items. Bathroom updated and nice. Good choice.
I did a lot of research on hotels in Fredericksburg, including reviews. Even though Best Western Plus was higher than I originally wanted to spend, I chose it because my husband and I have stayed at Best Western Plus in other cities and I knew I could count on quality. Your continental breakfast is another reason I chose it. The breakfast always has a lot of delicious hot and cold items to choose from. This time I was traveling alone and I knew that I would feel safe there. The rooms are always clean and well done. Your morning front desk lady was very helpful and friendly as well as professional. All of the staff was friendly and professional. If I ever need to stay in Fredericksburg again, I will definitely choose your hotel. Thank you all for your good work!
My wife and I originally chose this location because it was the cheapest option in Fredericksburg for the weekend we needed to stay. We were quite pleasantly surprised by the appearance and feel of the hotel. From the veranda and covered porch at the front of the building, to the covered eating area off of the main lobby, to the pool area the hotel has the feel of a charming country hotel. The rooms were equipped with numerous outlets into which we could plug and charge our many personal electronic devices. Overall, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and plan to stay here again.
The location was great. The area was quiet. Our stay at the hotel was good and the staff was great. Breakfast was good and lasted till 9:30. Our room was clean and fresh towels daily. I would recommend to bring your own pillows. Overall we had a great experience with the hotel.
The Best Western Plus in Fredericksburg was a very clean and nice place to stay. The free breakfast was great had a lot of choices to choose from. First time I have stayed here and first time staying at a Best Western. Will definitely stay again.
We stayed here while on a weekend getaway. The price was ridiculous; the front desk person was outside playing with her dog more than she was tending to guest needs; AC unit made a ridiculously loud noise that no one on staff cared to do anything about and we enjoyed neighbors who had a dog that barked ALL night long.
I have stayed here multiple times over the past year. This was by far the worst hotel stay I have ever had. AC did not blow, had to purchase fans to keep my family cool. I was told I was welcome to find another place to stay, which is not possible on a Saturday night in Fredericksburg. I had a run in with the manager (didn't know at the time) this guy was rude and acted as if I was bothering him and his coworker's conversation. The pool was green and closed! They had one lady working at the front desk, breakfast area, checking people out and taking care of general issues on the Sunday morning when there was 100 percent capacity. The gentleman that I spoke with upon checking in told me that they were at 100 percent when I complained about the AC not working properly. I will no longer waste my time or money at this location. I will stay in Kerrville or the Holiday Inn versus here.
We normally stay in B&B's when we go to Fredericksburg, but decided to save some money on accommodations this time because we are out of the room for most of the day any way. While not perfect, we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. First, the staff works hard trying to please, especially Erin and Sherry, but also the cleaning staff. The room was clean and comfortable, plenty of pillows and the AC worked fine. The lobby is nice and there are games you can borrow from the front desk. We played dominoes and Yahtzee while we were there but they also have others. The location is fine, isolated and a little less than a mile from main street. We used the distance for a nice walk each morning up to main street and back (we weren't going to get our steps at a winery!). However, it's not perfect. The breakfast is below average, even for a continental breakfast. We were fine with that because we're not big breakfast eaters anyway. But the yogurt machine (had never seen one of these before) was down, so no yogurt. Also there is a pool, but it was cloudy and a little bit green while we were there, looked like it needed to be shocked. The cell service in this area of town is spotty, and unfortunately the WiFi was also at times. The computer in the business center is ancient (it has a Pentium processor!) and the printer doesn't work. I needed to print a document off but was not possible on the antiquated technology. Luckily, Erin to the rescue! I emailed my document to her and she printed it off from the office printer. Despite those cons, we would stay here again. It was comfortable, convenient, and affordable.
Pros: Good location away from the hustle and bustle of Main Street. Hotel was quiet. Cons: pool had a problem and was being treated. Ice machine not working. Thick layer of dust on many surfaces in room and bathroom. TV remote was sticky to touch and didn't work.
This was a very pleasant stay. Reviews written did not in any way reflect the room, pool, cleanliness we experienced. We were given a lower floor room as requested. Pet friendly and clean pet area. Fred accommodated our check in and pool towels. Very professional and polite. Clean, quiet double queen room. Pool area was sparkling. We will return. Location is quiet and near HEB and downtown, but off the louder main streets.
The rooms need to have their linen replaced it's stained and is not pretty for guest to stay in. The pool needs maintenance green pool is not ok. Towels should also be pool side for guests. Remove the charges for items in the room sign high end hotels don't have it and neither should low end ones. Get your guest decent size shampoo and lotions to use during their stay it shows you care about their comfort and less about saving money. Your staff however make you feel like family and make you feel at home
We have stayed at this location many times. Its average and we know what to expect. We stayed 4 nights. After a day out on the first morning, we returned to the room to find the Kleenex box stuffed with wads of tissue. Inside the tissue we found 3 syringes. We took them to the front desk to report the incident. We don't if or how it was investigated. We stayed the last three nights, but left the Privacy Please cards on the door so no one would enter while we were gone.
Room was not a plus hotel room. Out of date. Bath not clean. Rusty. Air conditioning was very loud. Family member had roach on their pillow and a scorpion in the room. Had to leave early. Did not fully compensate. First experience with Best Western and NOT A GOOD ONE!
Reserved 2 nights 4/29- 5/2, but only stayed one night. Woke up to a ROACH on my pillow and a SCORPION on the wall right by the door- see pics! Went downstairs to explain and get refund and was told they won't refund but will check me out early. I was told they had just had pest control there the day before.. NOT MY PROBLEM. I'm 45 yrs old and NEVER had this experience in my life and I've stayed in hundreds of hotels. If it were to happen anywhere else, I'm CERTAIN they would have given me a refund that very moment!! Emailed once I got home and sent pics.. still no response!!
Stayed 2 nights end of April. Property has seen better days. Rooms clean but common areas dirty. Debris in halls and outdoor areas needed sweeping. Downstairs room was very noisy (our upstairs neighbors were very early risers!). Would not stay there again.
Very nice motel. Convenient location. Really loved the Texas/western decor on outside. Inside was more modern. We enjoyed the afternoon and evening breeze in the rocking chairs on front porch. All of the desk clerks had conversations with me. The morning clerk even checked on everyone in the breakfast room. Hot food every morning. The make your own waffles were in shape of Texas and had BW in middle! Our one complaint was a little traffic noise. We were close to US highway on our east side room. We would stay here again. Reasonably priced. Quiet inside.
We are Best Western people, and we weren't disappointed. Check in was smooth. Room clean. Comfortable bed. Nice USB charging options. Handicap shower was great with seat. No indoor pool or hot tub. Blocks from Main Street.
This hotel was very clean and comfortable. The room amenities were perfect and the complimentary breakfast was great each morning. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, making suggestions on where to go, what to see, and places to eat.
We had a wonderful experience! We had our little dog and a room near the back door which was very convenient. Staff was friendly, room was clean and beds comfortable. Rocking chairs on the patio. Texas shaped waffle was a fun treat for breakfast!
I stayed two nights in Fredericksburg at the Best Western. The location is great, just a couple of minutes from Main Street and also Highway 290. The staff couldn't have been nicer. It is a very quiet hotel and surroundings. I would stay there again when I return.
Super clean hotel. Close to museums restaurants and shopping. Plenty of Parking. Great staff. Great bereakfast. Will definitely stay here every time we are ibn Fredericksburg. Could not imagine a better and more reasonable place. Stayed 2 nights
My room wasn't cleaned for three days. Only the towels were changed and the trash can emptied. None of the three hand sanitizer dispensers that I tried worked. When I asked for room coffee, condiments, cups, ice bucket liner, shampoo, the man at the front desk was rude and abrasive. I tried to cancel my second and third night reservation so I could go to a different hotel but was told no. I called BW customer service. They tried to help but couldn't. The rest of the staff were nice and friendly.
Fredericksburg is a hidden jewel ^ the BW was a great place to stay. Very clean & price was excellent! We would stay here again, definitely take the tour of the Pacific WWII museum & the LBJ Ranch. Main Street is also so much fun to walk and shop, our wives loved it!
This is an affordable very good option to stay. In the room and facility terms, you get what you pay for, a good, clean, standard hotel. But the people working there make a difference, they are very helpful, attentive and courteous.
This is not an inexpensive option, but at last minute, it was our only one at spring break. Everything was very average. The breakfast is not great. The parking is adequate. The front desk friendly. The food clean. There are better choices in the city at better prices, but plan ahead! We were just guppy to have a room!
Broken with Mold and mildew in AC unit of first room. Very dark inside, toilet seat broken, etc. Moved to 2nd room and also had mold and mildew in AC unit. Didn't realize it until we were all sneezing and coughing after the first night. Coffee maker was dirty, Didn't use. Both ice machines in hotel were broken. Overall terrible experience and we won't be back.
After spending the previous 6 nights in different motels around texas this felt like a luxury hotel. The reception area was modern and well maintained as were the rooms. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The only area for improvement would be a wider range of dairy free and vegan options at breakfast. None of the cerals, porridge or hot food was suitable for vegans.
We loved our stay in Fredericksburg at the Best Western Plus! The room was very comfortable, and all of the staff was so friendly throughout our trip! We will definitely be back the next time we visit Fredericksburg!
Very convenient to all of Fredricksburg. Super friendly and hard working staff. Rooms and lobby updated and comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave in the room. Hot and cold breakfast items in the morning. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Wonderful night in Fredericksburg. It started at check in with JJ. He was so helpful getting us checked in and making sure we were well informed about the property. JJ also greeted us if we met him throughout the property. He's a wonderful Best Western Ambassador. The rooms are refreshed and clean. All the comforts we needed. Breakfast was fresh, hot, tasty, and plentiful. The coffee was the best I've had anywhere. Seriously! Who knew? Everything I look for in a short stay.
I was hoping for a 3 star hotel but felt like it was closer to a 4 star experience. Check-in staff were mostly friendly (the only negative was that I initially arrived at 12:30 pm hoping to get an early check-in or drop my bag off but was curtly told to come back after 3 pm), room was clean and comfortable, hot water in the shower was hotter than most other hotels which was wonderful, and the complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent with eggs, sausage and bacon, and biscuits with sausage gravy—a real Southern-style treat! It's located slightly less than a mile from Main Street so walkable if you're not in a hurry, and it's actually kinda nice when downtown Fredericksburg is hopping as it was the weekend I was in town. In the unlikely event I ever go to Fredericksburg again, I will be happy to stay here again.
I really enjoyed my stay, the room was always available Everytime we came, and we are very GREATFUL for that. We're looking forward to our next trip in April, and again in August. Staff was awesome, especially David, he was very helpful to me
Great place to stay. All the staff was very friendly, caring and helpful. Manager was wonderful. She really took an interest in your stay. Asked how our stay was, if we were enjoying our trip, where we were from, what we were there to see, etc. Great stay. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic Hotel. Erin and Frank were hands down the most friendliest people i have ever seen at a front desk of a hotel. They were over the top helpful and so NICE. The hotel was clean and had everything we needed. Loved that they had games to check out as we had 1 night that turned icy so ended up staying in and not going out. Hotel was not far from the downtown area. we had a rental car so we didn't really care of location. Thanks Erin and Frank for making our trip enjoyable!
This is our dependable go to anytime we're in Fredericksburg. Steadily warm, inviting, welcoming, clean, quiet, and comfortable. I appreciate the lay of the breakfast and the care put into its preparation.
When we arrived at the location, no one was at the front desk to check us in. We waited a few minutes and heard some one conversing with an employee. We called for help and a man came to the desk and was very rude and condescending. His attitude made it very clear that we were an imposition to his day and he did not care how we were treated. He did check us in, did not give us any information about Wi-Fi or breakfast, . He could not get rid of us quick enough. The next day we were locked out of our room. I went to the front desk and again no one was at the front desk. I waited a few minutes and noticed someone was in the office but was oblivious to what was going on at the front desk. I finally called out for help and again was treated like I was an imposition to his day. He also was very rude and condescending, but did rekey my card. Never again will we stay at this location. The staff seems to not realize who really writes their pay check. I will stay at Holiday Inn next time..
This was a great hotel for a getaway. Friendly staff from start to finish. Great breakfast selections. Waffles, eggs, bacon, biscuits as well as cereals and continental breakfast selections. This was my third stay at this hotel and I will definitely return.
The walls were beyond thin and you could easily hear your neighbors conversations. The doors slamming shut would rattle the walls so be prepared for little to no sleep. The cleanliness of the room was far below expectations especially for the price they charge. I would not recommend nor stay at this location again.
Clean comfortable beds. Very little noise...great breakfast. It wasn't right off Main Street but we didn't have to deal with all the traffic that staying right off Main Street brings. It was just a short drive to Main Street activities. Would absolutely stay here again
This is a decent less-expensive hotel option for Fredericksburg. The property seems dated and the AC units are noisy, but the staff are nice, breakfast was fine, and it's in a good location. It isn't a hill country resort, but it's a good option for a few nights stay.
Overall nice stay, but the Air Conditioning unit made a lot of noise and we could not turn it off. It was so loud we could not sleep well. The room was nice and clean, however, the towels appeared to be stained and dirty.
We have stayed many times in Fredericksburg, TX and have found that this Best Western has been the best for rest and the best cost of lodging. We don't even check others anymore. The staff is very friendly and informative about the surrounding area.
Really comfortable place to stay Quiet but close to downtown Easy convenient parking Large front porch with ole time rocking chairs for a little outside fun Coffe available around the clock Restaurants nearby I was impressed with the black out shades in the room with beautiful wooden shutters No problem with privacy
Hotel interior & guest rooms were updated. Good breakfast with a variety of foods. Breakfast area was continuously cleaned. Staff was wonderful! Only downsides we're so-so coffee and a somewhat tight parking area (at least for a full sized truck).
I woke up well rested after getting a good night's sleep. The value of the room is very much well worth it, just for the rest I received from sleeping on such a comfy bed. We missed the free breakfast, because we were all sleeping so soundly.
Great location... friendly staff.. Close to Riverwalk and Alamo. Came specifically for the Frieda Kahlo exhibit at the Botanica Gardens... enjoyed it and the lunch at the gardens restaurant was worth the trip alone!
When in Fredericksburg, this is a must stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room are clean and well kept. The breakfast is go and this hotel is not too far off the beaten path. Good access to the main stream of town. You can't go wrong staying here.
The room and entire hotel was clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good with lots of choices and hot food. A good choice for traveling with my dog. The area hotels are expensive and this one was the best value that allowed pets for when we went.
Bed was comfortable, water pressure in shower was good. Internet was terrible had to go outside to use cell phone. Bathroom needs updating, hair on bathroom floor, shower floor gross. Ice machines did not work. Breakfast was tasteless.Trash cans outside full. Not emptied during our stay. Front desk was unattended, tried to tell clerk our concerns and nobody was there. Did finally get somebody regarding ice machine he said one upstairs always works needless to say neither ice machine working. Also advised him on the huge bugs in our room and requested they spray the hall way. Wouldn't stay there again.
Staff was very helpful suggesting where to visit and guiding in areas of sightseeing in the area. Room was pleasant to the eyes in decor and cleanliness. Breakfast was wonderful with the verity of food, coffee and tea.
We were super tired from a long drive and had a super easy check in. Breakfast is back, y'all, complete with Texas-shaped waffles! We'll stay here again next time we're in Fredricksburg. They have nice rocking chairs to sit outside and take in the evening air.
Very welcoming staff, great breakfast, and the rooms were very clean. The AC was also quiet and I loved that the floors were wood rather than carpet. They also have a pool for relaxing and out front they have some comfortable rocking chairs with fans to keep the bugs aways while you relax.
It was average a little loud at 6 AM. We arrives at 2:20 and were abruptly told that Check in started at 3 they didn't check to see if rooms were available. The breakfast was a little better than sone during COVID.
Made the mistake when I dropped something on the floor of looking under the beds as I picked it up. There were not only dust balls but bottles, etc. on the floor under the bed. They told us due to Covid restrictions they could not clean the room while we were still checked in. Okay, but what about between guests?!
A great nice clean hotel friendly staff pool was amazing! Would differently stay here again! The out door sitting is great . Close to all the shops. And up the street from a food truck park. Didn't try the breakfast we went to town to try the German Bakery.
From the minute you step into the lounge you are greeted by people who are excited about working at this Best Western Plus. Smiles and laughter will follow if you are lucky to be greeted by Christina. The inner furnishings of the hotel are modern, bright and super clean. We especially liked having the little sofa in the room to watch TV and relax. The breakfast was very clean and fresh but what was super cool was the Texas-shaped waffles!
They billed for days after I checked out and would not credit my credit card. This was my first time at a BW!! I will stick to Hilton, Hyatt Marriott from now on. BW was the worst service from the day time front desk staff!!!
The bed was very comfy, The STAFF WERE VERY GOOD AND FRIENDLY, The room was clean and the grounds were clean and nice, Breakfast was good. But I thought the pool would be heated it was cold alittle disappointed with that, otherwise good place to stay
Hotel is very clean and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The outside of hotel may look a little dated but the interior is pleasing and inviting. The hotel is very convenient to Main Street, but does require a drive, a little too far for walk. I would definitely stay here again.
upon arrival we checked in just after 2 pm. asked for room near lobby. was placed at far end of hall. hotel was not close to being 1/2 full. recently renovated, was very nice, but toilet seats were cheap plastic. breakfast was ok. waffles ,cereal, etc. but heared servers had not been cleaned since sun. this was thur. morning
Very nicely kept hotel. Beautiful Western decor. Nice rocking chairs & patio to eat outside. Clean pool. Great breakfast - full, hot meal on weekends at this time. Conveniently located. Quiet rooms. Comfortable, sturdy beds. Nice linen. Towels were thick & nice quality. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff was also very friendly & helpful & professional.
Excellent staff, polite and professional. We where looking for a room at Kerville since our son plays tennis there, but the agent was very polite and found us a room in Fredrisburg which me and my wife go there anyway when we visit our son.
It's difficult to find a truly pet-friendly place to stay. Rules are clear: No pets on bed (covers are all crispy clean white), pet area is marked, several dog parks in the area (driving distance), no barking/crying... and walls are modestly thin so if your fur-kid does bark or cry, everyone will know. Breakfast was great - small hot buffet of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and waffles. Clean. Friendly, competent staff at the desk!
This hotel was nicely located for us and we enjoyed the stay! Had a handicap accessible room that was clean, spacious and easy to maneuver around in. Couple of layout issues with roll in shower that could be improved upon for a disabled person but overall was ok. Liked sitting in the nice pool! Friday night rate was a little high compared to week nights but expected. Overall liked it!
I found the staff very welcoming and friendly. Bed was comfortable and I actually slept well. A couple of the staff were especially helpful and served the name of Best Western well. I know I'll stay there again when I go to Fredericksburg.
Loved the location and decor. The built in electric fireplace was framed in stonework. Lovely antiques around the property. Pool area was just lovely w/ a nice cabana and tables & chairs around. Love the rocking chairs in the open air porch.
Accommodating for pets, a little pricey, if you are going to the wine tasting its in a great location, room bedding needs to be updated our sheets were ripped. I asked for a shoehorn and they were not able to provide one. I would stay again though :)
I was very disappointed the pool was not open and np mention of this The ice machine was broken and the floors were not very clean. My hair dryer did not work and by this time I just gave up on complaining . The price was very good but I felt like I would have paid more and made my family happy.
The owner of this hotel is only interested in money. During the terrible winter storm, when hundreds of local people had not electricity or water for days. This owner refused to honor military discounts or any discounts to help his neighbors get through this terrible time for the entire State of Texas. What happened to helping your neighbors in times of trouble? The staff here are wonderful. The hotel is nice. During this time the staff did everything they could with little help. Yet the owner tell them " Don't give any discounts." He didn't even come in to help his overworked staff. I understand he is in the business to make money but when times call for helping your neighbors he made sure people that just trying to survive, were charged full prices.
We rode from Houston to Fredericksburg we stayed at the hotel. In short everything, did I say everything? Was really nice and awesome. The hotel is very clean newly renovated, room was well decorated everything was working. Awesome to stay
Visited Fredericksburg over New Years and stayed at the Best Western Plus. Hotel was clean and convenient. I appreciated the COVID safety measures in place and felt safe on the property. My only complaint about the hotel is that the wifi is garbage. I maybe connected for about 30 minutes over the three nights we were there. Even though I had 4 bars of Verizon signal, I couldn't access the internet through it either. I don't know what kind of crazy fortress this hotel is, but if you need to do work while in Fredericksburg, find a different place to stay. It was impossible here.
Just as good as last year. We drive over from Houston for 2 nite mini vacations often. Christmas is Fredericksburg is a particularly good time to go. Hotel is not on the busy, noisy main street but only about 3 minutes from it. Hotel is clean and quiet with plenty of parking. Staff are friendly and repond right away.
Decided to travel to Fredericksburg at the last minute. Found a great rate on a room at this hotel. Very nice, clean room, the window shutters were a nice touch. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely stay at this hotel again if I return to the area. Great location.
Christina at the guest checkin was gracious to show us a room which was very helpful for us to decide to stay. The room is large and has been recently remodeled. The bathroom was very clean with lots of good quality towels. There is a large refrigerator and small microwave. The room had a couch and coffee table. If you want total darkness you can pull down the black out shade. The air conditioner was nice and cool. The beds are very comfortable. The door had a safety latch. Our room on the second floor was very quiet. The room was clean with no overpowering scents as my husband has asthma. . The outdoor pool is clean. The outside parking was well lit and we felt very safe. We will definitely stay here again .
We had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Plus Fredericksburg. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the wifi worked well. The hotel staff members we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is set nicely off of the main streets so the area is exceptionally quiet.
My wife and I traveled to the Hill country for a conference and as busy as that can be it was great to know that we found the accommodations at the Bestwestern Plus to be comfortable, restful and the quality of this hotel is five stars! We will be back!!
This is a clean and quiet hotel less than five minutes from the main street . Easy to find and get in and out of. Friendly staff always available for your needs, good breakfast. Clean pool and nice views. We highly recommend this hotel.
My wife and I headed to Fredericksburg for a nice weekend getaway and stayed at the Best Western, it had been upgraded and nicer than the last time we were there. With all the Covid stuff going on it was nice and comfortable and the staff did everything they could to make the stay as normal and relaxing as possible. Great job and hopefully things get back to normal quickly!! See you guys next time!!!
Check in was easy but lobby reeked of cigarettes. Room also smelled like cigarette smoke although it is a non smoking hotel. When I told the front desk they just said that they can't stop people from smoking and they charge if they do. I told her that I wanted to make them aware so they did not charge me... thinking I smoked in the room. She then stated they rarely charge! Probably why they have issues with smoking. Either way... this is an older hotel they have remodeled but failed to remove the smoke smell veggie putting the " lipstick" on..so to speak. Beds were comfortable. Refrig and microwave in room. Shower would not be comfortable for tall person. I am 5'5" and I ceiling was very low. Location is good if you have a vehicle...to far to walk to Main st. We used Uber and Lyft. Short affordable drive. Probably would not stay here again considering the price vs. Issues.
One of the only hotels with vacancies when we made plans to visit Fredericksburg. It had good reviews on Hotels.com, so we decided to try it out. When we arrived, the front desk lady was out front for a smoke break. She rushed in behind us after taking a final drag from her cigarette. She was friendly but could work on her professionalism. As she was checking us in she told a story about a customer who broke an item in the room; it was a little awkward because she drug the story out by repeating how crazy it was. In my head, I was thinking, ”Maybe this isn't the kind of place I want to stay.” When we got to the room, it was stuffy and humid. We turned the air cooler, but the humidity in the room was thick the entire 2days we stayed. The room had two beds (pretty comfortable). One of the beds was clean, and the sheets looked fresh, but the other had a couple of hairs on the sheets/pillow area. We decided just to use the clean bed and not use the other because our options were limited and we had just driven almost 4 hours to get there. Definitely would not be my first choice if I return to Fredericksburg
Clean and comfortable room, nice property, very helpful and courteous staff. Erin at the front desk was very positive and fun to chat with! I will stay here again when coming through Fredericksburg. Cute little town!
This hotel was awful!! We had water leaking out of our sprinkler in the ceiling, the AC didn't work, the toilet leaked, the bathtub drain wouldn't drain, and the GM was RUDE!! The front desk clerk Christina was AWESOME!! She was very accommodating and helpful. She went out of the way to make sure we were happy as best we could be and comfortable. Another desk clerk David was great as well. He was very nice and helpful. The GM Frank was so rude and unprofessional. He basically blamed us for all the mishaps and didn't ever apologize. We checked out a day early and went to a different motel and had a much better experience.
This property was exceptionally clean. The new vinyl plank flooring was great. The hot shower was powerful and the tub drained really well. The bed was comfortable and there were lots of counter tops. I like the clean look of the shutters but they do not completely darken the room. It is a season of grab and go for breakfast which is disappointing but understandable. We have stayed here before and will stay here again.
This hotel is close to Fredericksburg and all the wineries. It has a pool and a barbeque grill next to the pool. It was cool when we were there we did not use either. Everything was very clean. The breakfast area was kept very clean also. The room was comfortable and quiet. Downtown was a 3 minute or less drive. The front desk people were very friendly. They went out of their way to make you feel glad to be there.
Had a great girls weekend trip to Fredericksburg. We stayed at the Best Western Plus... walking distance to main road. Hotel rooms were clean, bright and modern. Hotel was clean, and staff super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great! Loved sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch. This will be my go to hotel in Fredericksburg!!!
Frequent traveler to Fredericksburg for 22yrs since 1998 ; Frequent guest at this Best Western for 5yrs since 2015. Frank and his team are always Great! Yes, we experienced the summer/fall 2019 renovation of lobby & breakfast areas...which did not include beds (all beds were new/had been replaced around 2016ish as part of various partial updates over the years like beds, carpet, furniture etc. The Beds Needs Replacing Again. Heavy hotel-use of low/avg. quality beds last 3years at best....they used to be Firm! They've become Too Soft/Very Sagging Hammock-effect especially for 2 in a King. We had to use our firm air mattress we always keep in the truck for this very reason. Christine was very helpful to bring us bedding for our air mattress. She did mention they are getting new beds, Is that right? When/What Timeframe can we expect new King Beds? Christine also managed the situation of a lost poodle we found wondering up and down the 2nd floor - she was very swift & on it, and once she found the owners room - she explained the pet policy to them. We like the BW, but are craving Firm King Beds. Thank you!
We recently had a Girls Weekend and stayed at the Best Western Plus. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The Front Desk was cheery and welcoming! We were very comfortable. It's just far enough off the main thoroughfare to be quiet, but close enough to walk everywhere. Will definitely stay again!
Nothing fancy but main feature was a comfortable room and bed, peaceful night of sleep. Breakfast better than the average free offering at most motels. Easy access to downtown as is to rooms. Clean units and best shower we had for entire trip.
Worst experience of my life! Woke up to a beg bug biting my neck! I left immediately. I had to throw away the majority of my belongings to ensure I did not bring any home. Best Western refunded me for the room stay but refused to pay for damaged belongings.
Pretty standard best Western two star hotel. Priced a bit lower than most in this area. Took a chance on Best Western ad they are hit or miss. Looked newly remodeled but still just a two star place.staff were nice and helpful.
The staff were helpful, and the service was perfect. The room was clean and functional. Plenty of channels on the TV that most hotels charge extra for, but included for free here. Free coffee available 24 hours a day was a plus. The breakfast was truly awful ! I went just over the road to Nurys for breakfast every morning after the first morning's experience. Only down side,no safe to secure personal valuables, either in the room, or at reception.
Very decent and value for money accommodation. This is our 2nd time staying here and a lot of things had improved. The Lobby still under construction looks more modern now . The room we stayed in was also newly renovated and of course clean . Their hotel amenities/ toiletries were upgraded from the generic Best western brand it now a more upscale Parmacopia brand . Breakfast was average but all in all of I visit again Fredericksburg I will continue to stay in this hotel .
We booked this room last minute as there were few other options that were pet friendly and provided a suite. We were in town for some Christmas fun with my 9 year old step-daughter, her BFF and our 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier. We usually try to stay somewhere unique and fun, so when this was our only option I was a bit disappointed since the photos reflected an outdated decor akin to grandma's house (and not in a nostalgic kind of way). We checked in quickly and the staff was friendly, but most surprising was the decor of the lobby - it wasn't grandma-ish at all! We made our way up to the "suite" and low and behold, it at been remodeled!!!! We were all relieved to see the nasty old recliner and sofa in the photos had been replaced with new, clean furnishings, the same for the drapes, which were now nice wooden shudders. The divider was just enough to give us some separation from the girls and we were able to watch t.v. in our bed while they watched their t.v. from the pull out sofa. The kitchenette came in handy for snacking on all of the junk food we felt the need to buy on Main Street and the free breakfast was on par with other hotels of this nature. It was perfect for our quick getaway and I would definitely stay there again.
Typical Best Western , you get what you pay for and it's clean and got everything you need. Not walkable into Downtown, no sidewalk, but easy to drive in.No road noise, only noise really from other guests!
Our room was clean and quiet. We had a king bed. Great mattress, excellent sleep. The breakfast was excellent Abundant selection of various food items. Proximity to restaurants was local shp[[ing was only 5 minutes. Will definitely stay here next time I am in town.
I feel you need to hire a new cleaning agency. The bathroom in our room was totally disgusting. The floors around the toilet nasty, black mildew around the bathtub fixtures, the carpet was so nasty. The only positive thing was the bed was comfortable. Plus, the remote did not work for the television. Had to go downstairs to the desk to get a remote. The price we paid for 3 nights for the quality of our room was terrible. Our next trip we will be staying at a different hotel.
Front desk was efficient but robotic. Room was clean but towels had seen better days and were thin and grey. Full breakfast, but all hot options were very salty and there were no non-dairy milk options.
The room had a wet smell. Breakfast was lacking. Cleaning staff brought their kids to work and only halfway cleaned. The only elevator in hotel grinds very loudly when the door opens and closes. The ice machine upstairs was not working and leaking water on the floor.
An old guy checked us in, he was abrupt and rude. The hotel has been renovated, so how they are finding it hard to keep clean this early on, I do not know! Under the beds were of dirt and dust, even places that are easy to reach and clean such as behind the chair in the room and under the desk were filthy, the cleaners need to be addressed! The bedding smelt odd, like cheap soap but it was so overpowering. The sheets on top of the bed were stained and dirty. The breakfast was free, but a waste of time, food was awful apart from the yoghurt! Fredericksburg is beautiful, we just wished we'd picked a different hotel to stay at!
We have made 4 trips to Fredericksburg this year and have stayed at the Best Western each time. It is a comfortable, pleasant place to stay. We will continue to stay there in the future. Our friends stay at the RV park across the street which make this the perfect place to stay.
A good experience, would recommend it. Decor was updated and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. An excellent affordable option, since the comparable hotels on Main Street are much more expensive.
Great newly remodeled hotel, rooms very nice, great tile flooring instead of carpet, breakfast with room and nice professional staff. Nicely lit parking area. (They allowed our 6 motorcycles to park in the front of hotel for security of the bikes)
I just read the review of Oct 1. There was heavy expoxy/glue smell that night. Part of the remodeling of that day. Depending on when they had breakfast, the quality can very. I found the staff helpful and responsive to our needs. Our room did not have carpet anymore. It had the same flooring as the breakfast area. The breakfast was limited. Some hot and some cold. I included pictures of the breakfast area & some of the remodeling that is going on. I gave them a 4 star because of the remodeling which is on going and we had to ask the front desk to do some minor maintenance in the room which they did while we were out for the day.
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night, the online reservation operator was very friendly and helpful. When we got to the hotel it was 9:00pm and the woman behind the desk was very rude...I felt that I was bothering her. The hotel had an odd smell when we got on the second floor, the soap they had in the room for you to use also had an odd stale smell to it, so bad that I could smell it the next day on my body. The towels were so ruff on the skin they almost hurt. The free breakfast was not good everything was either stale or ice cold. Coffee as so bad it stained the sides of the cup as soon as you poured it. We left there and had breakfast somewhere else. They were remodeling the hotel and it will be nice when done, my husband went out to the car to take our luggage and someone asked him to move the car so they could get to work. If you need that parking spot in order to work on the hotel then block nit off so a customer will not have to move first thing in the morning. NOT SURE WHY THS WAS A BEST WESTER PLUS, but defiantly not anything special.
We stayed on a Friday night, and the hotel is still currently being remodeled. Our room was updated and wonderful. I love the beautiful, new, modern floor without carpet (carpet is just a bacteria catcher). The breakfast was moved to the meetings room, but it was good, with eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. The staff was very nice and friendly. They charge $30 for a dog, but that's about the going rate. All in all, we would stay again.
This property is being remodeled and our room was done very well. Clean and new decor. The lobby and breakfast area are still being worked on but it did not disrupt our stay. Breakfast offered eggs, sausage, breads, pastries, cereal, waffles..good selection. We are a senior couple and always request first floor for convenience but there is an elevator. Enjoyed our stay and we will stay here again on return trip.
As the previous reviewer notes, and the response from management confirms, this property does not care much about their guest's comfort. We checked in to find the lobby and breakfast room under construction -- although no one appeared to be working at either -- but this was not a huge issue for us and we noted that the halls had been updated with attractive carpeting and new light fixtures. When we entered our room, we noticed a very unpleasant odor, but thought it might dissipate, so we headed out to visit the Pacific War Museum (definitely a must in Fredericksburg.) When we returned, the odor had gotten stronger and there was no ice in either ice machine. We complained to the desk attendant, and after all these issues, asked for a refund. She called the manager, who said we could leave but we would not get a refund. Eventually, they offered to move us to another room, which smelled better only because of a heavy dose of air freshener. We would never stay there again both because of the poor attitude of management and the fact that the carpets in the rooms are being replaced with wood or Pergo flooring, which is hard and cold on the feet. We expect BW "Plus" properties to be above average -- this property definitely is not above average.
Smelly room, no ice and cold tile floors in guest room. Lobby and breakfast room being remodeled - no sign of workers but a taped off half done mess for guests to enjoy. This is not a Best Western Plus property.
It would have been nice to know in advance that the lobby and breakfast area of this hotel are under construction. When we arrived, this was an unpleasant sight. After driving over 3 hours and seeing this, we decided not to stay and we were not refunded. Frank was very unpleasant. Not even offering to meet me half way.
I would highly recommend the the best western hotel in Frederickburg Texas it is very very clean Frank and Sam were great made sure we were welcomed breakfast was great hot and fresh front entrance has several rocking chairs so you can sit outside on the porch grounds clean pool area clean will definitely be going back
My family stayed here for one night so that we could see Fredericksburg before continuing our vacation south. The hotel is located in a quiet area yet still close to the main street. Upon check-in we were greeted by a very polite and helpful young gentleman. The building appears new. They are making some changes to the lobby, but it was not a problem. We didn't hear other guests any more than we would have heard anywhere else. Would stay again!
We stayed at this motel after a stay at Galveston, wanting to see what the Texas hill country looked like. We were not disappointed. It is a beautiful area. This hotel is kind of off the beaten path on a quiet street. We only stayed one night 7/17/19 since we were on a scouting trip of the area. The room was clean and service was good. They were remodeling the lobby, but that was not a big problem. We will stay there again and recommend it to others.
We have stayed in this hotel everal times and found it very warm and inviting. This time, however it had been decided that the old west, ranch style decor was not up to Best Western ideals (?). The lobby was in the process of being cleared out to make room for change over to something more "modern". This in itself was very disappointing. Otherwise the stay was very pleasant as usual. May or may not return.
The hotel was clean. Everything worked. Staff was friendly. Price was good. It appeared to be secure to me. We didn't eat breakfast the morning we were there since we were meeting a couple at a restaurant downtown. However, the coffee in the breakfast area was very good. I would stay here again.
The weekday prices are very reasonable. The weekend prices are much higher but are probably competitive for the area. Nice property. It was quiet and felt very safe. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and very comfortable . No complaints here!
We went to Fredericksburg to visit with family and do some shopping. Being a Platinum Club member with Best Western, I always look for one of their establishments because I am always guaranteed a comfortable room at a reasonable cost with all the amenities that I could ask for. This Best Western Plus in Fredericksburg did not disappoint. The room was typical Best Western (what I have come to expect) with everything that I wanted or needed within walking distance. The staff was excellent and the whole facility was secure and quiet. I would highly recommend if you are planning to travel to Fredericksburg that you give these guys a chance and stay here, you will not be disappointed.
We stopped here on our way back from San Antonio. It was much nicer than we had anticipated. We especially liked the floors of our room because it was not carpet. It can be kept cleaner and that is important. The property is between two fields of lovely wildflowers. Would like to come again and take in more of this town.
The hotel staff was great. The room was really clean and spacious, as we have 2 teenagers and need the space. The kids enjoyed the nice pool and the breakfast was great! The kids loved the waffles you made yourself in the shape of texas
This hotel is our first choice for lodging any time we travel to Fredericksburg for our spring getaway or a fall retreat. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The facility and our room were very clean and in good repair. It's a very good value.
This property is very nice & quiet. Facility very clean & smelled fresh. Nice complimentary breakfast. Friendly staff. Great price for seniors. Easy access to downtown & wine country. Highly recommend!
After a long day on the road, we chose this Best Western because we are always satisfied with their properties. The Fredericksburg hotel was no exception. It seems like a newer property and is in very good condition. The staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast was fine but not exceptional. Hot and tasty. We would stay again.
Such a great hotel in a small town. The room was spacious and clean and overlooked a field of wildflowers in bloom in April. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was excellent - hot and an excellent variety of food with great presentation. Rockers in place on the front entrance and a huge windmill and old western water tank outside added an excellent image. Front desk and breakfast personnel were all very pleasant. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
We came to the Hiill country to view the wildflowers and it was perfect that a field of Indian Paintbrush was in bloom right next door and way my first photo op of the trip. The stay was wonderful, nothing at all to say except the room, the people, the breakfast, everything was a perfect 10! We will be back, for sure.
I got sick after 4PM on 4-9 and did not know that I was going to be sick. When I called and talked to the manager, there was no sympathy for my being sick on the night of 4-9 stating at 7:45PM with Vertigo that lasted about 4 hours. I was unable to make a trip on 4-10. I know there policy but I think there are acceptions on all rules. A discount on next visit would have helped some, but nothing was offered. I never write reviews.
Great friendly, helpful staff, made us feel at home. Room was large and bed very comfortable. Easy to get to most any place in town from this hotel. Very quiet with nice decor. Two breakfast areas with more options than some hotels. Not far from Willow Loop, (wildflower haven), and gorgeous scenery. A very interesting town with unique restaurants.
We stopped in Fredericksburgs because I had heard that it was an interesting place to go. While many hotel accomodations were offered, I prefer to stay at a Best Western whenever possible. This hotel met my expectations: It was quiet, close to the attractions, safe and the staff was nice.
The hotel was overall nice and they even let us check in a little earlier than normal since our room was ready. The only issue is that the hotel is a little far from the center of Fredericksburg, but that issue is solved with a short uber ride. Ubers are everywhere here! The employees were nice and helpful. The breakfast is always worth it because it is not just a patsy and a cup of coffee like other places. The room was a normal sized hotel room with a 2 queen sized beds, but no complaints at all since it was clean and comfortable! Now that we know the details of the town, we will want to stay again and do more!
Spacious, clean and comfortable king size room. Five smaller rather soft bed pillows are provided which we didn't care for. Bathroom clean, fluffy towels and nice amenities provided. Carpeting throughout the building and within the rooms appeared new, nice! Front staff was pleasant and professional. We wanted to walk to the historic Main Street area (which to us was close by and well within a short walking distance) however, there are no sidewalks and we felt it was too dangerous with so much traffic. We did not partake in their complimentary breakfast (which looked pretty good) because we enjoy trying the local breakfast restaurants. We did experience slow internet connections. Noise was minimal. Overall, pleasant stay and would consider staying here again if ever in the area.
We stayed here for three nights recently. The king room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable but the pillows although fluffy were small. There were plenty of accessible plugs for electronic devices. The breakfast was ample to start your day with plenty of seating. A big plus is the fact that the location is away from the main drag so no road noise. We would definitely stay here again.
I love this hotel with a country feeling. You can sit outside in rocking chairs. Clean room, great breakfast. Nice quiet location away from Main Street. This is one of our favorite hotels in Fredericksburg!
This hotel is located just a short distance off the Main Street which makes it nice especially during busy times when there are many people downtown. Room was clean and modern. Breakfast buffet was good. Quiet.
Spent a very enjoyable evening at the Best Western in Fredersburg. Front desk staff gals were very friendly and professional. They accommodating our request to be relocated swiftly and efficiently. Our room had a very pleasant view over some farm fields and we enjoyed the evening sitting outside on the rocking chairs provided for the guests. Would highly recommend this property for a very pleasant stay.
This is a nice gem in Fredericksburg. It is tucked into a wonderful German ethnic town and is very quiet, the staff is very helpful and the hot breakfast excellent. Would stay again if we ever come back.
Nice clean up to day rooms. Spacious and comfortable. Great complimentary breakfast with a variety of choices which included meat and eggs and not just pastries/cereals. Comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Our stay was just to be an over night stay but was very pleased with everything. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in town.
Hotel is located in a quiet spot very near restaurants and activities. I wanted to take the mattress home with me!!! Most comfortable bed ever. Staff was wonderful, facility is clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
We were driving through Fredericksburg heading to Austin. We had stayed at this Best Western previously so decided to stay again. The check-in clerk was very kind and accommodating. The room was clean and beds were comfortable
We were greeted by the receptionist as we entered. She was a very positive, upbeat, and informative person. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Plenty of variety of breakfast options. Items were fresh and tasty.
We stayed here for the first time recently because they had the best rates at the time we would be in town. (There were others that were a little cheaper but I was skeptical. ) This is a really nice place. It is very clean and quiet and was not crowded. The breakfast was better than usual hotel fare. I am considering it a headquarters for our next family reunion. There are two dining areas with plenty of seating. My only complaint is that the internet in my room did not work. The young lady at the desk did her best to resolve the issue and even offered to let us change rooms. We didn't because we had partially unpacked. But I did get internet in the lobby.
The hotel itself is modern, comfortable, and has the usual items, e.g., refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and free internet. The staff, from the manager Frank on down, made the stay special. We were two couples staying in the hotel while we visited the sights and restaurants of Fredericksburg. The free breakfast included waffles. The hotel is pet friendly. The location is also great as it is just far enough away to be out of traffic and still close enough to quickly reach all of the attractions.
We had a fabulous time in Fredericksburg starting with Best western plus! Lovely hotel and delightful hotel staff at your service! Amicable and ready to help, helping with suggesting places to go and visit and of course the bakeries we were looking for to buy German Christmas specialies ! We are looking forward to returning and exploring again in the summer !
We wanted a place to stay that was reasonably priced and convenient to the shopping area of Fredericksburg. We got both! Frank was very friendly and prompt with requests. Internet worked great, and our free breakfast was a typical free hotel breakfast but not bad! Biscuits were soft.
Had an excellent trip to enjoy sightseeing, shopping and local events. Great to know, when it was time to go back to our hotel room- that we had a home away from home to relax and get a good nights sleep!
Our stay at this facility met all of our expectations and needs. Our desire was to stay away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Our desire was met. It was just what we wanted. Staff was very informative.
A nice comfortable place to stay. We came in in the evening and were quickly checked in and shown where we could get something to eat a good choice. The rockers on the front entrance were a nice touch to sit while waiting for other to get up and a good breakfast.was served and everyone their checked to make sure there was plenty for all.
We have stayed in this hotel numerous times and it has always been a good experience. This trip was no exception. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. The desk service people were very courteous, friendly and helpful. We had no problems of any kind. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
We stayed here for the night while exploring Fredricksburg. Room was very clean, and nice. However, there was no shampoo in the bathroom, just small bottles of conditioner, mouthwash, and lotion. Normally I bring my own but forgot this time. Also, the water pressure in the shower was terrible! But overall, it's a nice place.
Great hotel beds were comfy clean rooms any time I had any issues they made sure to take of them like I was the only guest there and real friendly staff love the breakfast especially the little boxes of cereal
Desk service was very poor. Girl was rude and would not answer simple questions. If I had not already booked with no possible cancellation I would have left. Room air did not work properly. Bed was terrible. Would definitely NOT stay there again.
We stayed at this hotel in the spring of 2017 without any issues, so 1 week a ago when we decided to drive to Fredericksburg I didn't hesitate to book a room and it never occurred to me to look at any reviews. The Germanfest was going on this weekend and there were no other rooms available at any other hotel otherwise we would've left before spending 1 night. When we entered our room we noticed a musty odor. It had new flooring as mentioned in other reviews, looks like hardwood but is linoleum so yes you do have to wear shoes or slippers the entire time. Room and bathroom have been repainted a pale blue but the old granite countertop in the bathroom was not replaced so the color scheme is very weird, plus the coffee maker is in the bathroom which is odd. Those few things aren't huge reasons to say I wouldn't recommend the hotel, it's because of the overall uncleanliness. To begin there was a dead fly behind the bathroom door, and it didn't die recently...it was missing a wing and looked like he'd been there for months because it was starting to come apart. Also the sink drain was dirty with dirt/debris stuck to the edges and also stained with either coffee or soda. Lastly there was an area about 6 inches in diameter behind the toilet that was dirty/dusty. The worst though, that we didn't notice until this morning. was that the A/C vent openings were extremely dirty and we were horrified to realize we'd been breathing the air with possible mold/mildew. Needless to say we decided to check out immediately so I went to the front desk. I didn't plan to say anything but was asked "how was everything". I told the lady actually not very good, mentioned above and even showed produced pictures and videos from my phone. She apologized and gave us 10% off. It was nice of them to give the small discount but it didn't make up for having to stay in a room that was as described above. Had the cleaning and maintenance personnel done their jobs I wouldn't have needed to write this negative review. Unfortunately we don't plan to ever stay at this hotel again.
I would highly recommend staying at this Best Western. The evening staff & morning staff & breakfast were ALL excellent. One of the very best, Best Westerns that I have stayed in & I have stayed in several. Next while you are there, go the National Museum of the Pacific War. Awesome.
Rooms are large and very comfortable. The location to downtown Fredericksburg is another great feature. Nice swimming area and free full breakfast each morning. Front desk personnel are friendly and helpful. Have stayed several times recently and will definitely stay there again soon.
We booked in at 8pm to a front desk clerk who did his best but couldn't help on price.(Tuesday night) Gave us a bottom floor king room which had recently been remodelled. Seems the new thing is Linoleum floors in rooms? wow, really? with carpet upstairs - is this a spring break thing? anyway - doors didn't seem to have been adjusted - any of them which all stuck, and when remodelling all the old fittings (most anyway) had been refitted to a new tub area and caulking was unfinished and poor (split) (mould?) obviously used old exhaust fan too but when you looked in the corridors etc, non of the finishing was done, base boards etc. Take your own pillow! as the ones supplied are full of something that doesn't get used for pillows! but water was hot and bath tub was good. Made comments about remodelling in the morning as we left and manager seemed less than grateful but i left and thought it would be better to tell folks before they spend their hard earned money. We came in late, found the comfort suites covered in dust - presumably the same contractor? so we chose BW. Can't recommend until remodel is finished and details are looked at as your money could be better spent elsewhere Place looked great from outside - note to self - its the inside that matter when it comes to nice. not recommended until remodel is complete and lino floors? mmm I dont comment to get money back or free rooms its important that people know
I would like to inform other potential guests that might be interested in the Best Western Plus in Fredericksburg, TX. My family and I were in town for the weekend for a girls trip and were less than impressed with not only the service of the hotel but the appearance and cleanliness as well. Upon arrival the lady at the front desk informed us that someone had hit a guest's car the night before in the parking lot and tried to fix it themselves and then flee the seen. (Not a very good first impression upon checking in) Also in the lobby there was a hanging wall sign that says “we don't dial 911” with a pistol on it which did not make us feel any safer, again not a great first impression. Once we got up to our room we were not impressed at all by the dark and musty appearance. The room also smelt of cigarette smoke. We took our concerns down to the lady at the front desk to see if there was anything she could do for us. We had asked if there was a chance of a refund since we had not stayed overnight or paid yet and she told us she could not do that. All she offered was to give us a room on the first floor closer to the exit. She gave us a tour of this room which upon first glance seemed a lot better than the first. With more observation I found two yellow stains on the bed linens and that was enough for us to decide we would definitely not be staying there. We again asked her if there was anything else she could do for us and she proceeded with just saying no, so we packed up our things to leave. On our way out my aunt mentioned to her that she would be contacting corporate about our experience and she replied with “okay you do that!” I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
When we arrived and were told that a room with one king bed would be 400.00 dollars. When I got to the room it was small, no carpet on the floor, so you would have to keep shoes on or you would be one cold tile. The room was painted orange and grey and not very well .The bed spread was most ugly. It looked like things Ive seen in good will stores. Yes the bedspread was new but ugly to look at. It had a very cold sterile feeling. We told the front desk we we not happy. The girl at the front was not helpful. I asked for a corporate number and was told by the front desk I could have it,but there was nothing I could do about it, as the hotels are all independently owned. I called the number told them the problem and they called the hotel. The manager of said hotel called me and told me if I was not happy I could check out. Very snarkey. They refunded our money. Thank God. It was my b day weekend and they almost ruined it for me. We are members of best western hotels and stay at a lot of their hotels and have always been treated well and had beautiful rooms. You are just a rate paying guest here. We did find another place to stay, they turned the whole weekend into a great stay.
Highly recommend staying here. Less expensive than most hotels in the area, great location (a mile or so from Main Street), very comfortable beds, good hot breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage available each day among a variety of other things, good coffee and flavored creamers, extremely great AC in the rooms which helpfully ran 24/7 and made for a great nights sleep, and great WiFi service. Also loved the bathtub here!
My first criteria is always AC, and does it really make the room comfortable. This one passed this criteria. The bed left both of us with back pains, as it certainly is no Temperpedic. The bathroom was clean, with plenty of water flow and hot water. The towels were like sandpaper however. We looked at the free breakfast, but decided to venture out instead. The pool area was clean, but some of the plaster needed work and the lounge chair cushions were ripped. Overall, this was an OK hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean. Thought it was overpriced by $10-20, especially for a Tuesday when much of the town shuts down at 3. There are some better options at this price in town.
Went down during Mother's Day weekend and attended a family wedding. During our time we enjoyed the pool and the property. Although the property was a bit dated it was well kept. Everybody we dealt with was nice until the sun went down. Then we had to deal with the girl behind the front desk working the night shift. While we were there the hotel put out complimentary water and refreshments for guests until like 10 or 11pm. Friday night, no problem grabbed a water otw to the room. My wife commented on the girls slight attitude when she got back to the room. No biggie I thought. Maybe she was having a bad night. Saturday night we get back at like 9:45pm after the wedding and put the kids down to bed. Wife has a splitting headache so she goes to ask for a water to take some aspirin. Girl tells her she's already put everything up like an hour early. Then tells her she can go to the vending machine if she wants. I made the trip after my upset wife came and gave me the story. So I went up and spoke with her. When I commented on the time and asked where the display was, she tells me that they don't always put the display out (with a pissy attitude), after telling my wife she's already put it up for the night. Then on checkout the next day the young lady working the desk tells me they keep it right behind the desk (literally a foot from where the night girl was standing) and offered me a couple to take with me for the trip home. We don't expect a lot from a hotel other than a clean room and cold air conditioning. At almost $200 a night for Mother's Day weekend I'm sure not paying for some little girls attitude. I can tell you that I've stayed at Fredericksburg in and suites and they offer complimentary beverages 24-7. As much as I paid for my nightly stay, I can find better service at another hotel just up the road. If it weren't for the piss poor attitude we had to deal with I'd go back. Funny thing is an older gentleman and his wife were coming down to check out as I was explaining our experience with the daytime clerk and the couple told us they had the same experience with the night clerk as well. Thanks but no thanks Best western plus!!!! P.S.- gave it a (2) because the breakfast bar and day clerk were good!!
Beware of this BW+. This place has bed bugs. My wife and I booked three rooms for three couples for a two-night stay at this BW. Dani the young lady we booked with was nice and very helpful. Our friends checked into their room Friday, May 4. Later that night they found bed bugs on their mattress and took pics and videos of the little buggers crawling on the sheets and took to the front desk to show the clerk on duty and ask for another room. David, the clerk on duty asked my friends to stay in the room after the bugs were cleaned off the bed. My friends declined that offer and were given another room. At check out, I was given a 10% inconvenience discount on my friend's room. I called BW corporate customer service and told a very nice young man my story and forwarded the pics and video via email. Later that day Frank, the manager of the BW called and offered another 10% discount, and to say we don't want to lose your business. I told Frank he had already lost my business and to keep his 10% discount. Maybe he can buy a few cans of Raid. The breakfast was just ok. The sausage and bacon were swimming in grease. After drying the sausage with paper towels we threw the sausage in the trash can.
If traveling to Fredricksburg for business or pleasure, look at this motel. Good value, great staff, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. Don't forget to bring you swimsuit, the pool is very nice and relaxing.
We were travelling through Texas and stayed here for one night. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby is nice with a Texas feel. The rooms were a nice size. They were quiet and the beds were of reasonable comfort. I passed on the free breakfast so can't comment on that. There was adequate free parking. There was nothing exceptional, but nothing bad about my stay. It was as advertised. The only reason I may not stay in the future at this location. The hotel is a about a fifteen minute walk to downtown. The route I took did not have sidewalks for some of the journey. I prefer to be be a little closer.
Room was very clean, bed quite comfortable, staff friendly, breakfast very good, check in and out quick and easy, location is perfect off the main street of town and quiet. I liked the shutters on the windows. A bit different than the usual. I would stay here again.
Clearly understaffed which was reflected in the attitudes of the employees (front desk & breakfast). Food was just ok. Coffee was horrible. Comparing my experience at the BW+ in Galveston, TX which was phenomenal this was a radical step in the wrong direction. If BW quality can so radically different then I'm rethinking using the BW brand.
This is an awesome place to stay, particularly if you travel with pets. We were treated very well by the staff, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the entire facility is well kept.
Make sure they are clear on the rate before booking. You might end up spending $100 more then what they quote you over the phone. I dont know if it's only the weekend but supposedly it's a two night minimum, which they dont tell you until you check in.
Hotel conveniently located just off highway. Friendly staff. Quiet and clean. Free breakfast buffet was well prepared and of decent quality. Parking is convenient, well lit and hotel has multiple entrances from parking lot.
We have not found a reason to give this hotel less than five stars. The people there are good people just wanting to assist you and make you feel welcomed during your stay. Price was just a bit over $100 for one stay. The guy that checked us in was very courteous and gave us some good recommendations where to eat and to shop. We also got this nice map of Fredericksburg (I'm sure all guests to the city get this). The hotel was very welcoming with it's nice rustic appearance, especially with the chairs outside, it's a good touch. Very clean. The room was very clean and modern. Didn't see any abnormalities or anything that would stand out as a defect or dirty. Now, there are other hotels in Fredericksburg, but, have immediately saw that this one was the best of them all. Yes, it's a few blocks from the downtown strip where there main shopping area is located. But, you can easily walk and easily drive there. Breakfast was very good. You can't go wrong with the basics (Bacon, eggs, fruit, danish, and OJ; to name a few). A good variety in the breakfast bar area. Very pleasing to see and was very good. Don't expect a swanky luxurious five star rated hotel here, it's a very good hotel where you get far more than what you pay for. I will tell you that compared to this one and other hotels in the city, this one, is the best option. There is no swanky-luxurious-five-star hotel no where near this town. I normally go to Hyatt Hotels, but, Best Western is my back up hotel brand that I can always trust on getting my money's worth. You won't be disappointed.
Very nice place at good rate; very friendly staff. Room was really clean and nice. Loved the large tub and fresh smelling towels. Located close to mainstreet. Staff was really helpful with vehicle breakdown.
Loved the quaintness of the hotel. Well managed and staffed by salt of the earth folks. Respectable breakfast fare. Because they allow pets, our room had no carpet and there were designated pet walking areas with pick up bags furnished for use and disposal.
Hotel is clean and comfortable. Very quiet and hotel was packed. Would definitely stay here again, and recommend to anyone. Beds were comfy, ac and heat worked well. Tv was nice and got plenty of channels.
Rooms have recently been redecorated (plantation shutters), and carpet replaced with vinyl. Room was very clean and quiet. Front desk clerk was friendly, and check-in was efficient. Unfortunately, when we asked housekeeping staff to provide kleenex, she indicated she could not speak English. Fortunately, front desk clerk provided us a box. Although hotel is less than 1 mile from downtown, it is really not a walkable distance since there are no sidewalks. We left before breakfast. We would certainly stay here again.
We came to Texas to explore the Hill Country and all the wineries and quaint shops. Our stay at the Best Western was perfect in location, cleanliness and Dani was the sweetest most hospitable concierge! We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it!
First of all the hotel is being renovated-booking didn't indicate this. Our room had was already completed. Room nice and clean. Linens were terrible - sheets were thin and had pills. Towels were threadbare with holes and strings. Breakfast was below average-biscuits were hard and shriveled. Breakfast sandwiches were unsightly. Coffee was an instant Maxwell House machine on demand. Staff were helpful when asked but not very friendly or welcoming.
Last minute decided to take in the weekend fair and stay over to visit all the little shops and wine spots. Fredricksburg has a wide variety of local hotels and b & bs but chose BW Plus. The front desk gal was a delight. Rooms were fine and very clean. They were doing some remodeling/updating but it did not affect our stay. Breakfast room was lovely and food was above average. Quiet location and reasonable price
We visited Fredericksburg, Texas and stayed at this motel. This motel was difficult to find and we ended up having to use GPS on phone to find it. The motel was clean and employees were welcoming. In room coffee pot was in bathroom near stool and I felt this could be an infection risk. However there was free coffee in lobby 24 hours a day so not a huge issue. Breakfast was served in 2 rooms with different items in each room. Overall this was a nice motel to stay at
Staff and facilities were excellent from check in through departure. Had a 2 queen room #119 and was convenient to lobby and side entrance to parking. Location about half mile south of Main St. was quite convenient to use with local maps of the area supplied by the front desk. Morning breakfast was well supplied and varied. Outside eateries were easy to get to but be sure to check their business hours. Beds in room were very comfortable.
Our room looks brand new and is very spacious. The bed is most comfortable. The colourful comforter on the bed is very German with large quilted squares of various leaves. There is no exterior noise. The furnishings also look brand new in rich dark wood.
I am not someone that normally writes a review but I have to say something about the staff here at Best Western Fredericksburg. Had a reservation for a Thursday and Friday night, had an emergency occur on Thursday and was unable to make the trip. I called and spoke with Dani at the front desk and instead of charging me a no show fee she changed our stay to Friday and Saturday. When we arrived, with our 2 dogs they inquired about the previous days emergency, which I thought was very thoughtful. We arrived in our very clean room and chilled out until it was time for us to leave for dinner at the Cabernet Grill, which was outstanding. This morning I turned on the light by the door and it started flickering, I notified the front desk and then just before we were ready to leave for our day excursions the toilet was spewing water all over the floor when it flushed. I called the front desk and spoke with Peighton, she told me she would contact Joel in maintenance. We loaded up the dogs a couple of moments later and then met up with Joel and Frank, the general manager as they were heading to our room for the repairs. They both stated they would have everything taken care of. As I was getting into the truck my phone rang and it was Peighton letting me know she had contacted maintenance and Joel was on his way to the room. When we arrived back to our room approximately 4 hours later our room was spotless, the toilet and light were fixed. I have to say the staff here are wonderful and honestly care about their guests. We will stay here again when we come back. Thank you Best Western for a staff that truly cares.
Was nicely renovated with faux wood floors in the room and tile in the bath. Too bad the detail was not completed in bath - no caulking or grout at top edge of the ceramic base. Just a minor detail, but still not a good finish. Staff were excellent & breakfasts were pretty good. Good location & would consider staying again.
Recently stayed at BW Plus Fredericksburg, Tx. Have stayed numerous times in the past, but over the last couple of years, we stayed elsewhere due to a decline in service, breakfast, cleanliness, etc. Decided to give it another try. I will say, this hotel is very convenient to the shops and restaurants. Our review.......building was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had improved slightly (this time they had bacon). Breakfast area was clean and employee in that area was attentive. Check in and check out was fast and friendly. The room was clean....we like the shutters much better than curtains. HOWEVER, the shower curtain had 5 large (up to 4 inch long) tears in the plastic. The bed skirt was completely ripped on the bottom corner. The bed cover had holes in it. The blanket was extremely thin. The mattress was very uncomfortable. The hand towels and wash cloths were good, but the bath towels were a dingy white, not fluffy at all and were very rough. The elevator had a musty smell. I know these are little things, but I know there are other people who have the same concerns we do.
I would highly recommend staying here! Very nice and good, simple breakfast! We were visiting for my parents anniversary at the RV park across the street. So the location was awesome! I would stay here again if headed back to Fredericksburg!??
This is a rustic hotel but well maintained and service is good. We went for an overnight stay at this quaint town Fredericksburg and also went wine tasting. The rooms were clean and well maintained . Breakfast was good . All in all I had very pleasant and comfortable stay here . Highly recommended
Such a cute decor...very homey with a Long Horn over the fireplace. Super nice staff, this is an older BW, but very, very clean and quiet, a couple of blocks from the main street and set back about a block from the highway, but easy to find. Free cookies, soda, and snacks in the lobby and a great, included in your room, breakfast...something for everyone, even Texas shaped waffles! The entry to the hotel has a nice long covered porch with rocking chairs and a windmill by the parking lot. A great, all round stay!!
This is an older hotel but it is very well kept. The breakfast had something for everyone. The bed was remarkably comfortable. The location was off the main highway so it was quiet. Would definitely stay there again.
We had a pleasant stay. Hotel front desk clerk was very nice. Room was great. Easy access to our room. Location of the property was good. No complaints. Felt clean, and that is the most important to me. It was nicely decorated w/ the western theme.
Highly recommend. Far better than the Hampton Inn in town and cheaper($90 difference)! Very nice rustic-homey environment. Very friendly staff. Nice hot breakfast was very good. Kudos to the lady that was cleaning the breakfast area. She was working hard to keep everything clean, fresh and hot. Give her a raise please. Good job guys, keep it up! We'll be back soon. Also, don't forget to grab this very nice map of the city from the front desk. It's impressive. SLR
It's nice that they are pet friendly, but it's hard to say that i would stay here again in the future. They charge a pet fee, which is not usually the case at most BWs. The Bedding and Breakfast both need help.
We have visited Fredericksburg several times over the years, this is the first time at the Best Western. It was very clean, breakfast was great. Enjoyed sitting on the porch. Next time we plan a trip to Fredericksburg we will stay at the Best Western
A wonderful quiet place to stay. Quick check in and checkout. The room was very quiet and clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great. I highly recomend staying at this Best Western location. We will return again.
We have stayed at this Best Western several times when we have come to Fredericksburg. It is a very nice place to stay with a courteous staff and close to excellent shopping and restaurants. We will be back in the spring.
Great location and friendly staff! Breakfast was good and hot. Clean hotel and comfortable beds! Wasn't our final destination but it was a superb hotel and great price for the 8 hrs of our stay. Would definitely recommend
We had never been to Fredericksburg. This little town gets busy !!!! Book a room !!!! Rooms go fast on Fridays and Saturdays. Room was expensive. Beautiful room, great staff, free breakfast. Glad they let us stay, I think we got the last room available in town !!!
This is the kitchiest chain hotel I have ever seen. If your into that sort of thing, and you have some BW points to burn, don't miss it! Free breakfast was pretty lackluster, typical unhealthy affair - high sugar/fat/salt/ processed foods, with little in the way of healthy options.
We only stayed at this hotel for 2 days but everything was as it should be. The room was clean and had all of the amenities we needed. The location was good to go anywhere and yet out of the way too. Overall a terrific hotel.
Very Friendly Place. They make you feel at home. Would recommend if you are planning a trip to Fredericksburg or if you live in Fredericksburg and need a place for family to stay. Convenient to downtown.
This property has only one drawback and that is the speed of the internet service. Everything else, from cleanliness of the property and rooms, completeness and variety of the hot/cold breakfast items, friendliness of staff and proper working of sink/shower drains, was exemplary. I especially appreciated the tile floors in the room.
When I arrived Monday evening, the outside of the hotel offered an inviting country setting with wooden rocking chairs on the front porch. Entering the lobby, I was greeted by a friendly desk clerk named Jerry. The lobby was beautifully decorated like a lodge and offered the atmosphere of a home rather than a standard hotel. My room was just as inviting and extremely clean and comfortable. The next morning, the electrical circuit caused the fire alarm to go off. Although it was unpleasant until it was shut off, I just continued to fix my hair with the bathroom door closed so it wasn't too bad. The manager and his day clerk, Stephanie, were extremely gracious, kind, warm, and hospitable. They made me feel at home. The breakfast was delicious and the hot food remained hot. The eggs were saltier than I l like so maybe the cook could not use salt and let the customers salt their own eggs. I was shocked to hear this hotel is fifteen years old. It appears as if it's only a year old. I will definitely stay here again if I need to stay in Fredericksburg.
Very nice hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights during a recent Texas road trip and couldn't fault it. Very clean, modern and comfortable room with everything we needed during our stay. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Only problem we had was that it rained for most of our stay. However, plenty to do in Fredericksburg so it wasn't too bad.
Kinda Nice hotel, bed was comfy, shower was amazing, staff was very friendly and helpful. BUT! The corridor floors were dirty. Our floor in our room was dirty, like it had never been swept or mopped. The floors were a type of wood look which was nice if it would have been clean. Wads of hair all over and crumbs, dirt and rocks on floor. The a.c. didn't work. It was hot and humid in our room all night. We tried all temps 72 to 66 still no change! The light in our bathroom flickered all the time, the faucet in the sink was broken and hard to adjust. We also found what we thought was "wackey weed" on our bathroom sink but we just wrote it off as potpourri and brushed it into the trash with a tissue.
We stayed here as we wished to visit the Pacific War Museum and the Texas rangers Museum. This Hotel is very clean and close to the centre of town. On a major route into and out of Fredericksberg. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. We would stay again and recommend to our friends
Very helpful staff, room was clean. Went to see LBJ Ranch, wineries are fun. Beautiful area of the Hill Country. I would tell anyone to go to this beautiful part of Texas and enjoy the peaceful calm feeling.
Quaint hotel for a nice quaint city. Appears still traditional when we arrived. Bit dated lobby and check in counter, was a welcome change. Easy check in, nice older gentleman had good insight on restaurant suggestions as we arrived later (around 8pm) and many places close at 9pm. Rooms are much more updated! Wood flooring in the rooms, comfy beds! Breakfast was a hit with my kids! Make your own waffles and eggs (fake powered) and biscuits an sausage. For right at $100, All in all great stay!
loved our stay at this best western.... wonderful staff...and made us feel very welcomed.. the room was very comfortable.. we needed extra amenities and the young lady was very accommodating ..Frank was great.. had a really nice personality ..
My experience at the Great Western Plus was great. Easy check in and check out. Nice, clean rooms. Nice pool and I love the porches with the rocking chairs. I love the little local flavor this hotel has like the windmill and the water tank outside. The price was also great for what you get.
Clean Best Western Plus Hotel theme is Western Charm. There are rocking chairs lined along the covered front porch at the entrance to the lobby. This location is very close to shopping on Main street, downtown Fredericksburg, TX. Hot breakfast was very good!
It's dedication and time consuming but worth while and it's a lot of work so when we go compete we need a confortable bed and that's important for us so us renting there is the best choice THE SHOWER HEAD IS WONDERFUL
The pictures of this place look great! Don't expect exactly what you see. We could tell they're working on upgrades and things, but over all our stay was great. Our room was nice and clean and the hotel itself is nice too. I recommend it.
The hotel is clean, reasonably priced and convenient. I've stayed many times at Best Western hotels around the country, and I've come to like the breakfast offerings and enjoy a good, freshly brewed cup of coffer with my meal. But the coffee at the Fredericksburg BesI Western Plus was horrible! It looked and tasted awful... It's not even brewed with ground coffee beans! They use a liquid coffee concentrate mixed with hot water, and the result is not good. The bad coffee even made the usually tasty breakfast food taste bad... Get your coffee someplace else!
Awful, bedding was stained right down to the mattress took two times to get decent bedding. Mgr would not credit our account so we could go to another hotel. the free breakfast area was not very clean, did not eat there.
An old hotel that has been remodeled. Staff was nice. The room felt damp the whole time we were there. No workout room on site. Not up to "plus" designation. Too expensive for the quality of facility.
Frank was very helpful & friendly at check-in. Room nice, roomy, and clean. However, laminate floors mean you hear a lot of noise from above floor. Is this part of renovation? Cleaner than carpet but not as noise-dampening..... Pool was DISGUSTING and closed. Would have felt good after long day of traveling and sightseeing in the heat. Was told it was due to the heat. Really? Like you don't expect these temps in JULY in central Texas??? How do other properties handle the temps? ..... Breakfast set-up strangely in two rooms...but, food was good. ... Probably wouldn't stay here again.
Best Western's are always clean with no bedbugs. We always check for them. The breakfast was ok. The eggs and sausage taste fake, but the bagels, waffles, etc. are fine. Overall, we would go stay again.
We enjoyed our stay at this BW. It is an older property but is very clean, friendly employees and comfortable rooms. It is located off of the main street but not hard to find and close to restaurants, etc..
In the past we have always stayed at Holiday Inn, but not any more! If a Best Western is available this will be our first pick. The employees at both Best Western's this trip was the best and very helpful for anything we need.. Thanks Aubrey & Pam Crowley Sweetwater, Tx
Frank at the front desk is a real plus for this hotel. He is really friendly, helpful. We really felt welcome there and 3 weeks later stayed at the hotel again and he even remembered us. Big thank you Frank
Great Motel for the price point that is in the process of being renovated. Our only complaint was the bed, but the Manager, who was great (Frank I think?) informed us all of the beds are being replaced so we would probably rate it higher at a later time.
This is hotel is off the beaten path a short drive from attractions. The staff was friendly and welcoming, rooms clean, breakfast usual for hotel (waffles better than usual), pool basic and clean - enjoyed a nice evening swim under the stars and the temperature was perfect.
this hotel takes very good care of their guests. it is very, very, pet friendly. Great location and reasonable prices. We brought friends with us on this trip, and they also were impressed. All of the employees we encountered were very friendly and accommodating.
. Within 5 mins of speaking with Mr. Frank, I knew we had chosen the RIGHT place to stay. Mr. Frank was very friendly, courteous and made us feel welcomed and made my stay a pleasurable one. I will DEFENITELY be back. I highly recommend this place to anyone. THANK YOU(Mr. FRANK) for a GREAT week.
Loved our quick one night visit. We were able to experience the 4th of July parade downtown when we left. It's in a convenient spot and has friendly, helpful people on staff. It's a small, cozy hotel.
We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and became so comfortable there, we didn't want to leave! The staff is excellent and very customer service oriented. Our favorite staff member was Frank. We met Frank upon check in and were immediately made to feel welcome and at home at the hotel. During our week long stay, Frank consistently went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. His great personality, smiling face and exceptional customer service skills were very appreciated. We were sad to leave for home. We will definitely be back!
Every employee that we came in contact with were super - from the gentleman at the check-in, to the maid that got us more sugar for our coffee, to the other gentleman that checked us out on the day of our departure! The beds were sooo comfy. We would certainly stay here again
Frank, is the best and what a gentleman. Frank went out of his way to help us out of a jam. I had made reservations at a different hotel thru an on line outfit that I won't name, but they messed up the reservation and we did not have a place to stay, 250 miles from home, 8:30 at night and all the other hotels booked up. Frank took care of us even though he did not have to and for that single act of kindness we are and will continue to be loyal Best Western customers.
This hotel is absolutely a great place to stay. It was located in a beautiful city and had a restful setting. The room was exactly what a hotel room should provide. The amenities were great and the bed was very comfortable. The room was large and so was the tub/shower. Everything worked properly and staff was very friendly. Thank you for a great experience that I have and will continue to tell my friends and family about.
The location was excellent. The room was clean. We could have walked to Main Street if it was not SO HOT. Staff was attentive and the breakfast was adequate. The wife and I were not planning on spending much time in the hotel room. We just needed a place to rest our head and take a shower. This hotel was more than up to the challenge. When we checked out, it was interesting that the desk person asked us if we liked the mattress. It was too soft for our tastes, but she said they were trying a new mattress in that room. She also noted that the bedspread had a hole in it and so did the shower curtain. Breakfast was adequate and saved us some money. Could have used more forks. Little things like "no forks" make the property look bad. Overall, if the price is right-book it.
One of the reasons that we selected this property was because one of the reviewers said that it was a walkable distance from the shops and restaurants. It is but if it is not centrally located. If you plan to walk the entire Main Street and shop, you may want to drive. If you are just going to dinner, you may enjoy the walk if physically fit. There is closer lodging if that is deciding factor. Otherwise we found the bedding comfortable and the room clean. The property was undergoing a major remodeling project so things will be even nicer. The staff was cordial and helpful. The breakfast service was generous offering hot items along with cereals and yogurt. It is not gourmet dining but it was well staffed and more than adequate.
Kinda over-priced for what you get, but everything in that area is over-priced as far as lodging. Was never able to get hooked up to the internet and the Wifi was poor. Had to run A/C on 60 to get the room to 71-72... Plantation shutters on windows are nice, but, impossible to shut out security lighting at night. Beds were never made up or sheets changed in the three days we stayed.
Very nice hotel. Very clean. Nice pool and staff. Breakfast could have had some more fruit. Eggs were very good but I don't like steamed sausage. The price doubled from Thursday night to Friday night. I don't know if that is because it was Trade Days weekend or not.
This is an older hotel but it was very clean. I liked that it didn't have carpet, seemed cleaner. It's close to downtown (but probably not within walking distance). Good breakfast, good price for a Thursday!
The rooms and hotel were very clean and updated. the staff were very professional and helpfull. Very conveniently located from the tourist area, Nice and quite atmosphere. Can't say anything negative about the place. Will definitely stay there in the future.
Outstanding property and customer service! Will be staying there again in the future. Great location, beautiful community, a tremendous amount of activities available for all ages. Pool is beautiful as is the entire property. Well worth the stay!!!
The location was very nice and staff were great. The shock was the upscale cost that was shamefully way above the quality and standard of hotels of equal level of expense. This was an away from destination not in the center nor close to destination main center of activity. This location needs to be $85 to $110 a night at the maximum, period
Great customer service in a comfortable clean environment convenient to everything in Fredericksburg. On arrival we were put in a room that someone had been smoking in. It suppose to smoke free. They were anxcious to please and worked hard to find another room for our 2 night stay. After that it was a great stay as noted in the beginning of our review.
Stayed 2 nights. Great place in all respects. Frank at the front desk was so helpful, accommodating, and pleasant, making our stay very good. The room was very good, very clean and all amenities in working order. I highly recommend this property.
We booked this last minute & it was truly a pleasant surprise! I saw some reviews that varied so I'm adding mine. Room was clean & renovated. Included a mini fridge & microwave, which is a bonus for me! The breakfast was awesome & included 2 hot meals : biscuits & gravy, as well as scrambled eggs & sausage. There was coffee with vanilla additives, which I love. Also many breads and a build your own oatmeal area. We enjoyed this nice treat before checking out! The pool looked nice but it was raining so we didn't get to check it out! Great stay for a great price!!!
Really nice room. We felt the cost was really high for such a small town and it being a Best Western. Bed was really firm. The floor from above squeaked and they must have had kids above. Needless to say we got woken up at 6 am. Breakfast was good for a free breakfast.
Very skeptical when some friends booked this motel . Last minute trip . It was a delight . Staff very friendly . Close to restaurants and tons of shopping . The rooms were extremely clean . Good little breakfast in the Morning . Again , very clean and great staff !
Our first room was next to an exterior door that slammer at all hours waking us and offering a poor nights rest. Once reported to the front desk the next morning, we were moved to the second floor in a non smoking room. That room reeked of cigarette smoke so bad that our clothes smelled the trip. This stay was not very enjoyable.
I would recommend this motel to anyone. The staff is more than friendly, eager to help and will bend over backwards to help you in any way they can. The rooms are comfortable, the price is right and is just a pleasure to visit. Sitting on the front porch and having a hot cup of coffee in the morning is great and they keep the coffee hot all day. The swimming pool is clean, although we did not swim, but, it did look inviting.
Positive Expirence .......Clean And Comfortable... Frank (at the office) was extremely helpful suggesting places to dine in Fredricksburg. He is courteous, knowledgeable, and was kind enough to take a few pictures of me in the beautiful lobby. Will return soon. The Handicap room provided my needs. Enjoyed Breakfast. What's there not to like about this Hotel!
I booked the hotel thru booking.com for May 13th as I was scheduled to pick up some furniture. I found out late afternoon of May 10th that furniture had been delayed and would not arrive until next Thursday. I wanted to change arrival date and was informed by booking.com they would need to call hotel to let them know. I was put on hold and was informed the night manager said that he would not allow the change of date and was very rude.If I cancelled I would be charged the full price in which I called Best Western myself and he said it was strict hotel policy and said booking.com was the ones denying change. I called booking.com again and they said was not the case as night manager would not allow the change and would charge for the room even if we didn't show. needless to say we were very disappointed in the night managers rudeness and not allowing the change.
My husband & I had planned a first time visit to Fredericksburg for a couple of days & nights so we booked both nights here. The hotel was undergoing some remodeling but it wasn't noticeable unless we went out a certain side door. The room was clean & spacious & bed was comfortable. We didn't have breakfast here so can't comment on what breakfast was like. The rate for the first night was very reasonable but for the second night it jumped almost one hundred dollars. I understand that a Friday night will be more but it wasn't worth this much more. While we hope to visit Fredericksburg again sometime, we would probably come during the week when rates are lower.
This hotel is so outdated and worn that it gives the impression of being dirty. The carpet and furnishings need to be replaced. Walls need to be painted. Vanity tops are worn. Breakfast is nothing special. This should not be a best western plus. Rates are very high for what they are offering.
Retired, divorced, and my own master, the open road has me in its grip again. A few years ago I accidentally discovered Holiday Inn Express (HIX) with “free breakfast”. (But “free” makes it sound cheap; it's actually quite a good breakfast, and they should use merely the adjective “included”.) In any case, I have been devoted to HIX ever since. But they are so popular that they are often completely booked, as happened a few days ago in Fredericksburg, TX. On that occasion there happened to be a Best Western Plus (BWP) nearby where I was able to get a reservation. Great bed, pillows, and breakfast. That BWP is certainly in the same class as HIX, and I will be on the lookout for them in the future. PS: Don't overlook the lure that biscuits & gravy has at least for us old-timers.
Told the clerk that I had stuff in vehicle that couldn't make it for another 2 hours in the Texas heat and I had to be away form my vehicle for a few hours. Needed to place in a room or storage area but she said no way , we don't have a place. Ended up going to another hotel and I have been staying there for years.Rude
Great hotel stay, great full breakfast, clean rooms, easy check in and out! Was not on the main drag but they offered a free shuttle, but it was close enough to walk to the main shopping area, if you're use to walking! Recommend this hotel!
Fredericksburg is great. And Best Western is generally good. But stay away from this one. Undergoing renovation, Had to walk around workmen in narrow hallways. Loud noise. Electric saws, tile cutting, stench of glue, hammering. Just terrible. They should have shut the joint down until they got the work done. We continue to like Best Western as a chain of decent roadside hotels, but the one in Fredericksburg is no good. Oh, it will probably be fine once the work is completed, but given the fact that they remained open and subjugated paying guests to all that noise, dust and smell of glue, well, who knows what they may do in the future.
We recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, comfort and service. Frank and staff we're very friendly and willing to go the extra mile. They have a hot breakfast daily and it was fresh and tasty and so was the coffee.
This Best Western is not on the Main Street in Fredericksburg, but it is a short drive and worth it! The staff were friendly and the location is still very convenient. They appear to be in a complete room renovation, but even our non renovated room was quite nice. The breakfast is very tasty and plentiful! There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room and our king bed room was a very comfortable sized room. We would definitely stay here again!
Hotel was under renovation so there was building materials and waste and constructon noise and clean upgoing on until after 10 pm . They put us dead smack in the middle of it . After a long day of traveling it was not what I needed
We have now stayed at this property two different times. It's a good quality Best Western Plus property. We had a room with a single king which was roomy and clean. Unfortunately we stayed on a weekend in April so instead of paying $116 we paid $206/night. The room was worth $116; it was not worth $206.
Very Nice, great stay. Brought my Boxer with me. The outside is nicely kept for the dogs and the rooms are spacious enough for crates. Beds were very comfortable. My only complaint is the eggs were not good and the AC was not as cold as I like it to sleep in.
What a nice guy. Talked to him over my morning cigarette and coffee out front on the rocking chairs. Funny, great whitt and helped me with my luggage. Also great people skills id let him run the shop anytime - nice talking to someone after a long drive alone. Thanks guy!
We stayed at the Best Western Plus Fredericksburg for a long weekend over the Veterans Holiday. The staff was so attentive, from the check in, room cleaning, and the breakfast. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Easy to locate just a short distance from downtown. Comfortable beds in nicely appointed room. Very good selection of breakfast items to get your day started. Pleasant staff throughout and affordable.
Quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was wonderful.beds were good. Staff were really concerned. peaceful night after 800 miles of driving.Overall , may have been the best BW we stayed at.!_!_!. All amenities lived up to expectations.! Off the beaten path 1 Mile , but very worth it !
I was just here for one night, but I had no issues at all. My room was clean and I felt safe at this hotel. The location was great for heading to downtown Fredericksburg for shopping and fun. The front desk was very nice and told me to make sure to give them a call if I needed anything. I would stay here again if I ever get back to Fredericksburg.
From the time we made our reservations by phone (which was at the site in which we stayed) until we checked out on Sunday, Oct 23rd - we received the MOST outstanding caring service that we EVER have had in any hotel in which we've stayed. 1.We had more than one change to make to our reservations in the few days before we arrived, and Frank was a PERFECT gentleman and had the "patience of Job" when helping me. I felt he "really cared" about the people who stay in the F'burg facility. 2.We used the meeting room and tho neither Lora or Frank "owed us" any concern as we were setting up for our family gathering - both of them checked on us several times. Not only that, Lora went out of her way to accommodate us in every way !!!! 3. Because of both of these employees, we will definitely stay (depending on your availability, of course) in this hotel when we return to Fredericksburg (Texas) They made our stay MOST pleasant - Suzanne Starr (Robert)
Poor experience. Housekeeping left no washcloth. Previous person's clothing in drawer and items left in refrigerator. Evening front desk person stated clothing may have been there for months. Next morning front desk person went on about previous housekeeping person illegal and let go.
For the most part this is a typical mid-priced chain hotel. They do accept pets and add $20 per day to your bill. We have a small 17# dog and this worked perfectly. The room was clean and very acceptable. Breakfast is included and typical for a chain hotel of this type, adequately supplied and the food was fine. There is plenty of parking. The location is maybe 5 minutes from Maian Street.Yes we would say here again.
I have arrived fairly late and there was nothing else to do then go straight to your room. The staff is not really friendly and the breakfast is ok ish. If you just need a place to sleep, it's ok but not more. Fredericksburg is a very charming little town. I am sure there are better Hotels.
Absolutely loved staying here...beautiful, meticulously clean and spacious rooms. Plantation shutters were gorgeous. Extremely friendly staff, clean and appropriately decorated public spaces. Large front porch with rocking chairs! Loved it all.
My husband and I went to Fredericksburg for their Octoberfest and it was a lot of fun. We got there early to the hotel to check in and the front desk clerk let us check in to our room early. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. We got up the next morning and had a good breakfast before heading home
My wife and I recently (in early October of 2016) had a rather pleasant stay at the Best Western Plus Fredericksburg. Our room was attractive and clean, the cost was reasonable, all the staff members we encountered were pleasant and professional, and things seemed to be in good working order. The breakfast provided, while not outstanding, was quite acceptable. For purposes of completeness, however, I should mention that mosquitoes were a bit of a nuisance in the parking lot and elsewhere around this property during our stay there; I assume this is only a temporary problem.
perfect hotel in an ideal quiet location with clean rooms and a good breakfast! I've stayed in several hotels in the area and this is my pick! I stay here as a base to work out of for business in the surrounding area. Kind of my home away from home! The staff always works hard to accommodate any needs I might have and they always recognize me when I check in.
My family and I drove to Fredricksburg for a wedding. Since it was the same weekend as Oktoberfest I knew that it would be difficult to find a room. We were able to secure a room with Best Western for $200/a night.. Upon check in, it was set up for a King size bed. There are 4 in our party. I got 2 queen beds but was up charged to $250/night. I thought that was steep and was not happy with the up charge. The lighting in the room was poor as I was trying to put on my makeup outside the bathroom so other members of my family had full access to it. The lighting in the room is very dim. We were in room #215. Our family had a great time in Fredricksburg walking around the city at the shops and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with the Texas shaped waffles. My kids were in heaven and ate a good breakfast. Due to the price we will probably not return but recommend it if you can get it at a better price!
We decided on a last minute trip to Fredericksburg for a friend's birthday. The rates shown online were $249 but when I called they offered to reduce it to $199. he room was typical, clean, nice. Hotel staff was pleasant. I would go back!
Excellent location to the downtown area. Clean. Great breakfast. Caring employees. Room was clean and neat. Mattress felt wonderful. Was not loud and noisy, at all. Love the Plantation Shutters on the windows, and the whole atmosphere of the hotel.
Had to do an early check in due to the weather. They were pretty accommodating on that request. Got there and the guy at the front desk was a tad bit snippy. Especially when he assumed I was under 21 even tho im 24 because my license is still vertical. He also cut me off when I tried explaining I was actually 24. We were tired from 4 hrs of driving in a thunderstorm the entire way so we just took the key and went to the room. Its a bit dark and dingy in the hallways and smelled like an old school cafeteria. I was still holding out trying not to judge it until I got to the room. Nope. It didn't smell until you turn on the heater, which makes and alarming dripping sound and smells like mold and dirty laundry, but it was very dark and depressing in the room with all the lamps on. All of our sheets were stained with some yellow splotches and we had to get the maid in the hall to come and change out the sheets. The carpet felt a little gross so we didn't take off our shoes. The bathroom floor had not been mopped, there was baby powder on the floor from the previous guest. Our decorative pillow had bite marks. Yes.... bite marks all over the pillow and smelled like saliva. I wasn't able to get picture of the pillow or the yellow sheets because as soon as we saw them my husband flagged down a maid. As soon as the maid left we found a severly chewed on pen cap on the floor and dirt/mud splatters on the sheet. I had high hopes for breakfast because I've had other locations breakfast and they were always well done. I was wrong again. The biscuits weren't edible. The top halves were ok but the bottom halves were rock hard. The gravy smelled like feet. My husband said the waffles were ok. I was so disappointed. HOWEVER... I do appreciate the later check out, 12pm.
We recently stayed here for wine tour and shopping. It is close to town and and in a quiet area. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Our only disappointment was breakfast in the morning. We were there 3 nights and each morning they had same scrambled eggs and sausage every day. Would have been nice to have some other hot options.
I have to admit that I'm a bit of a penny pincher, but we decided to give this a try ... And we were NOT disappointed! Lovely spacious lobby, inviting warm gentleman at the desk with a delightful Texas accent, great room! We intended to leave the following day and checked out, but after wandering around Fredericksburg for a few hours and driving to the enchanted rock, we went back for another night :). All in all, a really nice place!
Loved this hotel from the moment we arrived. Spacious lobby really felt like Texas with an amazing staff Frank and Lora were so friendly and helpful with great recommendations on where to eat and play. We will definately stay here again!!!
I tried to make a reservation for 10/22 but got confused by the calendar arrangement at the website and made my reservations one day off from what I wanted. When I got my confirmation email I immediately called the booking agency and tried to change. It turned out that the date I wanted was unavailable. I the asked to be able to cancel. I was told that since I had made nonchangable/non cancellable reservations there was nothing to be done, I was stuck with my useless $300 worth of rooms. I KNOW WHAT THE POLICY STATED but it was only about 15 minutes after I noticed the mistake that I called and tried to cancel. I have rented from BW a lot in the past but not sure again. Just a heads up--be REAL sure of the entries before you hit the CONFIRM button!!!
I strongly recommend staying at the Best Western Hotel in Fredericksburg, Texas. We were greeted by friendly, cheerful staff and got our rooms very quickly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. This hotel provided us with a great room and a good meal for a great value. I will return here again.
Our first stay at this hotel. We found the entire property well maintained inside and out. The staff that we met, were happy and willing to help with all of our needs. Our room was a little crowded with furniture, but it was all clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable and the room was cool. Breakfast was OK with basic hotel line up. All in All a good place to stay.
Not too far from Maine st. Clean rooms and a nice pool. Friendly staff and convenient location. Breakfast has great options. Great place for the money. Will definitely stay here again. A great way to enjoy Fredericksburg Texas.
We have stayed in this hotel in the past and we have never had a problem.. Rooms are clean, staff is helpful and friendly. Location is close to downtown and easy to find, close enough to downtown to reach quickly but far enough traffic and noise are not a concern.
We were treated very well, it was a very good experience at a hotel and I will most definitely stay at Best Western hotels in the future. We had issues with Expedia cancelling one of our rooms one day prior to arrival and it took an hour and a half to get it all worked out, but the hotel staff took very good care of us and the hotel was clean, nice, friendly, helpful staff, friendly and courteous service.
While at breakfast, there was a lady who was not satisfied with anything that was offered, The eggs were hard, the biscuits were soggy, the milk for cereal was cold, etc. Sharon, the hostess asked the lady if she tried the waffle. The lady replied she did not want to wait in line. Sharon asked if she would like her to make one. The lady said yes, and Sharon left for a few minutes returning with a Texas size waffle with all the toppings and presented it to the lady. The lady hesitantly took it, and devoured it in less time it took for Sharon to make it. Sharon showed GREAT customer service with an attitude that would put a smile on anyone's face.
This place was just outstanding! The staff was friendly, kids had a great time using all the amenities they had to offer -- pool, rocking chairs in the front, excellent breakfast! The front desk area was very open and spacious, staff was very helpful in anything we needed during our stay. We opted for one of their suites, which gave the kids plenty of room to play since it had a kitchen and living areas. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone!
Lovely large room with couch. Handicap facilities. Excellent breakfasts. Wonderfully helpful staff. Relaxed and quiet. Cool in 104 degree heat. Great place to stay. This one is definitely on our return list.
We love to go to Fredericksburg TX to satisfy our love of German food. We stayed at this Best Western. What a great hotel! The lady who checked us in/out was super nice. Very friendly, knew her job, and was very helpful with information about the area. We didn't partake of the free breakfast this trip because we wanted authentic German food, but it was very nicely done in the eating area with many hot items available. You should never leave a BW breakfast area hungry. They have tons of things to offer. Also, even though we didn't have time to enjoy the pool it was very nice and attractively arranged. We have now moved into the Platinum level with BW and had a nice gift bag waiting for us. We highly recommend this hotel.
Our first night in Texas on a family vacation and we were given a cheerful and friendly Texas welcome by the gentleman at the front desk. This is an older motel but that feature should not detract from the fact that it is a good and quiet place to stay. Rates are reasonable for Fredericksburg and we enjoyed strolling through the town. There's enough green space on the property and rocking chairs outside the entrance to soothe the weary traveler. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Good breakfast. The Texas themed decor let us know that we were truly in Texas.
We were so pleased with our stay at the Best Western Fredericksburg that I think we will make it an annual summer getaway. The staff was so welcoming and courteous, the rooms and entire property were immaculate, the beds were comfy & cozy, the pool was relaxing and comfortable, and the price was just right! We enjoyed the generous breakfast, and friendly staff...thanks for a great stay! My son also loved the complimentary passes to Anytime Fitness, he was glad to get his workouts in...that was a bonus!
The staff at Best Western Fredericksburg go out of their way to make guests feel like they are at staying with family. The pool was very inviting but we got too busy to take a dip. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Sitting in rockers on the wood deck was great in the cool morning breeze. We will return.
When we checked in, the gentleman on the counter advised us about where to find the best peaches (and he was correct!). Comfortable, friendly, family type homey feeling overall. Best scrambled eggs at any hotel buffet.
As others have said this is a good place to base yourself to explore the Texas Hill Country. We stayed 2 nights and were very comfortable. As with most BW hotels you have to drive to restaurants etc but that wasn't a problem. We ate at two of the restaurants recommended by the receptionist and both were very good. Would certainly stay here again.
Made our reservation with the desk clerk, Frank, via cell phone enroute. He was very cordial and made us feel welcome before we ever arrived. The hotel seems to be in a neighborhood and was very quiet & homey. What else can I say, other than it was quiet, reasonably priced, clean, comfortable, and with a good breakfast. I would definitely stay there again and recommend. From Frank to the ladies in the breakfast room, everyone was most cordial, true southern hospitality---loved it!
This hotel was clean and the staff made sure that everything was taken care of for your stay. Great breakfast and the location of the hotel is near everything that you might want to do in Fredericksburg.
We usually stay at Best Westerns and this was on the one in Fredericksburg. The property was clean and functional. No problems and a very pleasant stay. It would be nice to have a fitness room though.
We made a short trip to enjoy Fredericksburg. The king bed in our upstairs room was extremely comfortable, a must when you have a bad back! The room was very clean upon our arrival and the pool was relaxing. The breakfast was standard motel fare with a waffle bar, eggs, sausage, fruit, bread and pastries. We would definitely consider staying again. We were even asked our opinion considering some renovations that are coming in Fall.
We feel in love with the place the minute we rode up to it. Staff very friendly and the room was very clean and it had everything we were wanting; Flat screen TV, good size fridge and a small microwave. We were very please with the free breakfast that offered eggs, sausage, waffles and as well continental. Wonderful coffee along with the little international creamers that I love with my coffee. Very clean inside and out.
We had a room on the end, near the exit. Which was very convenient. There was parking right outside our room, which was nice to keep an eye on our vehicle. The room stayed cool, beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean and big, microwave was perfect for our German food leftovers! Breakfast was great!! Plenty to choose from, fresh, hot, and kitchen staff was friendly. The front desk staff was a little short with us when our card key wouldn't swipe and we needed a new one. But that was my only complaint. If you can't book a B&B in Fredericksburg, book here! Price was great and perfect for resting between Fredericksburg activities!
Fit the bill for family of five. Kids enjoyed the breakfast area and options. Salt water pool was great. Close to Pacific museum, downtown Fredricksburg, and LBJ ranch. Plenty of parking and comfortable stay.
This hotel was nice, convenient and a great value. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was great and they serve Maxwell House coffee in a dispenser that does not run out so I didn't feel guilty filling up my large Yeti cup-there was plenty of coffee for everyone!
This is a great hotel. They provide a full hot breakfast and are always available to help if you have a need. The decor is wonderfully Texas! It is in a perfect location in Fredericksburg and will be where I stay the next time I am in the area. I can definitely recommend this hotel. It also has an family friendly swimming pool which is kept clean and beautiful.
Great start to the Hill Country of Texas. This location offers access to multiple areas and sites of the Texas Hill Country. The ease of access and amenities make this Best western a joy to visit. We suggest staring with family and friends viewing the area lakes and local parks.
I have to say .... I was very impressed w this hotel. Jerry took my reservation over the phone and was also the same one to check us in when we stayed. He was friendly and made us feel so at home. Rooms were very nice and we loved the pool lights at night time ... Definitely go for a night time swim. Breakfast was AMAZING. I actually felt like I was at a restaurant. The lady working the breakfast and front desk, Sharon, was such a friendly lady. Thank you for such a wonderful stay :-) You have some great employees that deserve to be recognized !
Conveniently located for access to the Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War as well as the downtown shopping and dining areas of Fredericksburg. Well appointed rooms; nice continental breakfast. Staff helpful and courteous.
Spent two nights at this hotel and it was a very enjoyable stay. Our room was clean and well maintained, bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was very good, and the staff people were very nice and helpful. We have stayed in this hotel previously and it has been a very pleasant stay each time. This Best Western Plus has become our first choice every time we are in Fredericksburg, we don't even check on any other place here.
From the time I checked in, to the couple times I had to go to the front desk The same guy showed me very horrible service. If it wasn't for me having to stay there for business I would have checked. I'm a diamond member and when I asked for an upgrade if available I was told all the rooms are the so NO! Even on my last night I don't want to have to buy more milk since I was checking out in the morning, and I was told they had milk but I wasn't going to be given any cuz if I was given some then everyone would want some. Also the AC didn't work well at all room was hot and never cooled down and was also told that that's they way they worked and it would cool off eventually. Will never return to the hotel.
This BW hotel is a very attractive hotel and when I book a BW I can expect a good quality for money. However, there were some things that I did not expect. Shower rod for curtain kept coming out of wall socket. The 2 seat couch was well worn with virtually no support. Sheets looked worn and we're not white. The window AC didn't seem to cool the room until it was raining outside. Although in good shape for the many years of use it does need updating. Tha good news about this when I chatted with the managers is a total remodel will be coming in December 2016!! This hotel still has many good things about it . The breakfast was excellent and the upkeep still better than most hotels.
Good location, friendly helpful staff. Little slow on check-in (with reservations). Clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms. Breakfast was a little chaotic for some - coffee maker was broken - and large number wanting to eat seemed to overwhelm the staff.
Conveniently located for downtown sightseeing but you need a car. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small. The layout of hotel was weird. The free breakfast was very good. Plenty of seating and food. We will stay here again.
Although the room was a "non-smoking" room, it reeked of stale cigarrette smoke. We tried to change rooms (in the late afternoon) but we were told that they were booked full for the night. There was also mold on the shower/bath grab bar. We wonder if the fire alarm worked as the light was not working. On the positive note, they had a very good hot breakfast with extra seating and staff who were keeping the food replenished.
Great service in making appropriate accommodations by front desk clerk, Maurine. Very friendly and informative. Great atmosphere, clean rooms, very happy with the accomodations. Will recommend to others and will be staying there in the near future.
This Best Western was a great place to stay when you come to visit Fredericksburg. If you are looking for a reasonable price plus clean and comfortable accommodation this would be your pick. Staff was friendly, plenty of parking and their swimming pool was refreshing and clean.
This is a nice Best Western although overpriced for the time I was there. Fredericksburg is a tourist destination at this stage and it appears the price was amplified due to town activities. I felt a rate of almost $200 for a Best Western was a bit greedy given I did not pay that while staying in Palm Springs! The beds are not comfort beds as I have had at other BW but overall the staff is professional and the hotel is clean.
This is a very typical Best West Plus with nicely furnished rooms, plenty of offstreet parking and very charming and friendly staff. It is a few minutes outside town but as all of its guests will come in by car plus or minus a minute or so into town centre does not matter. It is close to a couple of well trafficked roads but we were never aware of any street noise. There is a nice clean pool outside and if you want to relax, I noticed a number of rocking chairs lined up under their verandah. Beds were comfortable enough, decent showers and good towels. TV and wifi all fine. As is usual for Best Wests in this area the "free" breakfast is a bit sparse but for what it matters I noticed both days on our visit the breakfast juice was so watered down as to be undrinkable. Funny thing but there you go, otherwise very pleasant stay.
This older hotel seems to have been remodeled fairly recently. This hotel has a quirky charm with a traditional hill country atmosphere. There is a stuffed Longhorn steer head above the lobby fireplace, and we enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch. It is located out of the noisy high traffic area, and the price is reasonable for a very touristy town. Cons included a broken elevator and a disorganized breakfast arrangement.
We just came across this place on a whim. The most beautiful accident we could have found. When we pulled up I felt like we were in the mountains....it had such a cozy, welcoming feel. Walking inside we were greeted by a wonderful staff and the lobby also was very cozy and welcoming. Our rooms were decorated accordingly and it felt like we were at an expensive lodge somewhere. We had reserved 2 nights but ended up staying 3. Will define tell plan on staying again.
About 2 miles from downtown shops in Fredericksburg. Very comfortable and clean inside and out. Area was very quiet. Staff was very helpful. Great breakfast – both hot and cold selections. Motel is pet friendly although there is a surcharge for a pet.
The hotel desk staff was unfriendly, uncaring and rude. When we arrived the desk clerk was unfriendly and we felt like we were bothering her just by checking in. After we checked in I explained that there were 2 of us in the room and they provided us with 1 regular coffee packet and 3 decaf, I explained that we both drink regular coffee could they please switch out at least one packet and was told no, that there was coffee in lounge. Seriously!
A nice comfortable place to stay for pleasure or business at a reasonable price. It's located away from the main traffic and, is quiet and is well maintained. Having coffee on the front porch in the morning is a pleasure..
Beware for double charging for your room in your credit card and the bad behavior from Lora, the hotel manager that lacks a good attitude to solve the problem with lies to not back charge your money back. I have been at the Hampton and Holiday Inn at Fredericksburg and are far better option and with no problems of double charging at check out.
Nice hotel. Breakfast area is large & welcoming. One thing about the rooms....they put in 2 OLD towels that I could see light through with raggy edges that I actually took pics of & one hand towel, no wash cloth or floor towel! You need to do a towel check! Good location with a good price. Would stay again & do recommend!
This definitely was a rare experience. We don't usually take time to get away with friends, but this was long overdue. The rooms were clean and staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool area was nice and perfect to hang out. Whether it's with friends or family I would highly recommend this Best Western.
This was a nice motel with a friendly staff. They were professional. The rooms were nice, clean, and reasonably priced compared to others in the area. I'd recommend this to a friend planning a trip to the area.
We really liked our stay here. It was far enough out of downtown to be quiet and away from the hoopla. But close enough you were just minutes away from the destinations. it is a clean, and decorated country homes style complete with front porch rockers.
It was the second time we stayed there. Nice place, nice staff. Breakfast was good. Very close to the main attractions. Plenty of restaurants around. Nice base to enjoy the wineries. Wi-Fi was pretty good. Bathrooms clean and quiet rooms. Towels need an upgrade. Love the shutters.
Always a clean unit. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beds, towels and sheets are fresh and feel new. Great breakfast in morning. Easy in and out area away from main street traffic. Several times, staff has recommended things to do or see.
The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was close to the historic main street festivities. The water pressure seemed to better than most hotels. We could hear the people above us walking, but overall a nice stay. We would definitely stay again.
A whole lotta money for just average room and hotel. Mold and dirty spots on the shower curtain, need screens on windows. Don't mind paying if I get what I pay for. Hopefully they read the comments so they can improve.
Trying to find the good in this visit is hard to do. Breakfast served required re-heat in room. Light entering room from outside lights and sun couldn't be restricted due to wood blinds and no curtains. No spa to use as they advertised. Asked for room to be cleaned after 1st night--they left our breakfast items/dishes all over the room we had to dispose ourselves. Wasn't what we expected for price that is for sure.
I stayed here for a weekend in March. The hotel is pretty close to main st. The hotel was a good value, the breakfast was pretty good, and the room size was adequate. The only negative is that I was on the 1st floor and could hear everything that was going on above me.
Fredricksburg is a small town that relies on its German heritage to fuel its tourist trade. The result is either quaint or kitsch, depending on your point of view. What I will warn you is that it shuts down and becomes a ghost town starting on Sunday evening when the guests get out of town. This hotel is a bit of a walk from downtown but good value. Based on recent reviews it appears to be in a tailspin, someone needs to straighten things out a bit. We were on our way to tour hill country on Sunday and arrived to drop our bags at the hotel. We were there at 2:15, the hotel officially opens at 3. OK, I get it, but all I wanted was to drop my bags in a hotel that was going to be nearly empty (which I confirmed the next morning). The gal on the sales desk said that there were no rooms clean (which I cannot believe.) When I asked her how far it was to LLano, she had no idea, which again surprised me in that two of the spokes out of Fredricksburg are marked, "To Llano". Why are you working the front desk, dear? When we got back to an empty hotel at 8 to check-in, the receptionist makes you sign specific clauses that you will not smoke or bring pets on the premises. Oddly, she then gave us a room that reeked of smoke. OK, these things happen, but where is the communication between housecleaning and the front desk? The next morning we had finished our breakfast and were enjoying a coffee and reading a paper in the common room. Again, I will admit we were 15 minutes after the breakfast closing time, but at the same time, we were obviously finished eating. A staff member hovered over us, her body language clearly telling us to get out. As I said, the staff needs a talking to.
The night reception man, Jerry, gave 3 men keys to our room. After they walked in, when we were in bed, I called him immediately. He said that room is showing clean. He didn't remember that he had just been in our room an hour before to help us with control the TV. Of course him giving room keys to others cancelled out our keys. It was not a good experience and we didn't get a good nights sleep.
First of all breakfast that morning was sparse. The woman who replenishes the food could not keep up with the demand and food items were missing. I had to ask for several items. The woman needed help. We returned to our unmade room at 5:15pm later that day. We called the front desk to complain, and the phone rolled over to voice mail. We left a message. About 15 minutes later housekeeping showed up. At first, I wondered who these kids were in the hallway and then they were coming into our room as she came in to clean. My husband suggested we go to the lobby while she cleaned. I was not comfortable leaving the room with these kids in there. I complained to the front desk when I got to the lobby, stating I was sure it was not company policy to allow unauthorized persons into the rooms. He told me," Sorry, this is the way it is if you want your room clean". Very unprofessional!
You get what you pay for in Fredericksburg. We stayed 2 nights in this budget hotel, the room was clean, refrigerator and microwave in room for convenience, pool looked nice but too cool for a swim. The front desk/breakfast staff were very nice. Breakfast as expected in a budget hotel, eggs, sausage, very hard biscuits, yogurt and some fruit. Would like to see more fruit. Coffee machine broke, so no coffee one morning. The rooms have VERY thin walls, we could clearly hear the neighbors and each time a neighbor closed their door, our entire room shook! We were there midweek so quieter, this noise could be a problem on a weekend. A 5 minute drive to Main st.
I have stayed at the hotel before and have always been pretty pleased. Love the fact they allow dogs and they even have a bag and trash for the dog area. The grass for the dog was nice and freshly cut.
The room was a nice suite with a ceiling fan above the bed and a jacuzzi tub, however there was trash in the room from the previous occupant, the refrigerator did not get cold, and the hot tub was "broken". The breakfast was not up to our standards, and the front desk staff was very slow, unhelpful, and even rude upon check out. I will not stay at this hotel again, nor will I recommend the hotel to family or friends.
Good location, close to the main street. Friendly staffs, front desk, breakfast lady. Just one little recomment, you need extra inventory at breakfast. 1st day I am there, you are out of almost everything (yogurt, milk, fruit, bread...etc).
So many noises- the refrigerator, the AC, the upstairs guests- you name it! I've been to Best Westerns all over and this one was the worst! We could have moved to a different room upstairs but we had a pet. The breakfast was also horrible. Most of the food was gone before 9 and the eggs were covered in water!
Stayed with my husband and small children for one night. Great price, clean and close to Main Street. Staff was nice. Breakfast was average but did the trick. The rooms echo loudly so I felt bad when my kids cried. Overall, great budget hotel.
Non smoking hotel and non smoking room, but it smelled otherwise. Basic accommodations, least expensive room. You get what you pay for. Will try very hard to look elsewhere next time. Not very impressive. Front desk clerk was very friendly. Could have been worse but also could have been much better.
During our stay here, we were locked out of our room. We were forced to wait for over an hour and a half while maintenance drove from another city. The staff never once apologized and were overall made light of our concerns. The next day our room was not cleaned and after requesting them to clean it, it still was not done. We requested a refund for the first night and were lied to directly by the GM. AVOID THIS HOTEL. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
Service was great. Room was very very clean. Heater was very noisy and bed very uncomfortable. Didn't get much sleep. Took one look at the breakfast and we decided not to eat it. Didn't look good at all. We've stayed here before and had no problems. Won't stay again.
We got a room on short notice. We went to Fredericksburg for a day trip to do some wine tasting. The room was clean with 2 TVs. The TV in the bedroom didn't work and the toilet ran if you didn't jiggle the handle. We weren't really in the need for the second TV at the time. The walls are kind of thin, so it was nice to have control of the heating/AC so we could have some background noise at night. The breakfast was great, the Texas shaped waffles are a must!
Very clean, friendly staff, and homey decor. The pool was closed for the winter, but I enjoyed the free access to the local Anytime Fitness. Conveniently located near the main drag. Breakfast included biscuits and gravy, sausage, and eggs (powdered) in addition to the usual pastries, cereal, and waffles.
I've stayed at this motel numerous times for business and it never disappoints. It has a nice Western charm to its decor. The staff has always been friendly and engaging. I also like that it's off the beaten path or about a mile off of the main road Hwy. 290. The rooms are always clean and the beds are excellent with ample covers. The price is very reasonable for such a popular tourist area. Tip for food choices, try Andy's right around the corner or the Old German Bakery & Restaurant on the main road. Never had a bad meal at either.
We were expecting a little more from a Best Western Plus. The hotel was definitely dated and had seen better days. The bed was uncomfortable (too soft) and we didn't sleep well. On the plus side, the location is great! Quiet, on a side street but near the main street, with plenty of parking. Also, the staff was very helpful and friendly - especially at checkin and out.
This hotel is always nice to stay in. The grounds are nicely kept and the lobby is inviting. The rooms are clean and comfortable and they offer free internet and breakfast. There is easy access to anywhere you would like to visit in Fredericksburg.
Hotel and Staff at this hotel in Fredericksburg Texas was very good. Excellent location for getting around in a car. Not quite close enough to Main Street for Walking. Breakfast Bar and Coffee were outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.
Friendly staff - "above and beyond" / any issue was immediately remedied / appeared newly remodeled - landscaped / centrally located to main attractions of "downtown" / will definitely return for next stay
We were passing through very late and the hotels were full. We were told that they heard the Best Western still had rooms left so we called and no one answered so we just drove to the Best Western, assuming that they were just quite busy to answer the phones, we found the clerk in the dining area watching the television. These pictures show a little of our experience there. The room had a unpleasant smell and asked the front desk for some freshner and she told me she didn't know where housekeeping kept their supplies. The bed sheet was dirty, it had a blood-like soil on it and the bathroom hand towel that was hanging, ready to use, was also dirty. We did report this to front desk that next morning and she forward the complaint to the manager, who was suppose to give us a return phone call and its been 2 1/2 weeks and she has not called yet. We also called for her a couple of times to see if she may be apologetic or issue some credit for the negative experience we had and she has not returned any of our messages. TERRIBLE Management.
While our room was clean and ok, my in-laws room room next door was missing furniture and not ok. When the front desk was informed/questioned, we were greeted with a very lack of concern or interest. So we decided to make the best of it as at least the room was clean. The next morning we get up ready for a waffle and cup of joe. Half the food items were either empty or sadly, cold. When I asked if we could get one of the items replenished, I was told that they close in 15 minutes. This was 45 minutes before the breakfast scheduled to close. Disappointing. Can't say I'd stay here again as hospitality and work ethic are sorely lacking. On a positive note. My 11yo loved the pillows!
This is a good hotel if you are going shopping. It is close to the main shopping area, has a good breakfast and is a good price if you don't come on a weekend. They have rocking chairs out front to use and a nice view of a nearby grassy field. Get the Texas shaped waffles for breakfast.
A friend and I stayed here for two nights in December. When we checked in we had questions about what we were going to be charged and asked the front girl (Natasha). She was unable to answer the questions. First when the booking was made I gave a debit card to hold the room. They ran the first night through my bank account without telling me as a hold charge saying because it was a debit card it had to be done that way. When we checked in they ran the second night through my bank account saying again because it was a debit card it had to be done that way. Then was told we would be charged for the full amount of the two nights when we checked out and it would take 2-7 days to get the hold money back into my account. I explained this was not the first hotel I have stayed at using my debit card and that this had never happened to me before. Also they did not tell me they were doing it. They only reason I knew is It came across my cell phone as an alert from the bank. There was also an additional $10 per day tacked on the second charge. I ask her what was that for and was told it was for incidentals. I said what incidentals? Then the most rude manager (Lora Burger) came out and said that was in case we stole a towel or ran up a phone bill. She also rudely informed us if we did not like it we could check out right then. Although they had already put two nights of hold charges on my bank account. What was really quite funny is when we got to our room the phone did not even have a cord hooked to it for anyone to make a phone call. I will never stay at this hotel again and will make sure none of my friends stay either. If a manager as rude as Lora Burger worked for my establishment I would make sure she was let go immediately. We are in our late 60's and are not used to being treated in this manner by any business.
Room was very comfortable and clean. Nice location close to town. Exterior is very inviting. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very basic. Side door to West side parking lot very difficult to open from both sides - extremely difficult from outside.
We scheduled a business trip to Fredericksburg and booked the B/W located there. Horrible weather due to tornadoes, flooding and 5-10" of rainfall caused road closings and travel advisories. Called the motel around 7:30 am on the day scheduled for arrival to cancel because we could not get there. However, we were told, Strict policy of motel does not allow for a refund of any kind after the cutoff. They said that Cutoff is 4pm the day before scheduled arrival. We pleaded, given the extraordinary circumstances, it seemed reasonable to allow us to cancel. We were told absolutely not and they hung up the phone on us. Called back asked for name of manager, wouldn't give it. We were told the manager would call us....never happened. Worst treatment ever received in my decades of traveling! We called the B/W headquarters, they called the motel, to no avail. The one shining light in all of this was Elizabeth Cole, resolution specialist who responded to my call to the executive offices of B/W. She was very helpful, resourceful and understanding. I cannot speak highly enough of her. She provided resolution even though the motel, which is independently operated, would not. Thank You Elizabeth. That said, I caution all travelers to be very very careful when making reservations at the B/W in Fredericksburg. A dollar means more to them than a happy customer.
We usually try to stay at Best Westerns as we find them fairly consistent. We were told via phone the pool was closed but the hot tub was open. Did not happen. The room was nice but the bathroom floor needed a good cleaning. We found men's underwear in the closet on the floor and some food on the floor by the fridge. We cleaned things up but they never addressed the bath floor. Hair dryer only had low speed which did not help the wife much. On check in Maureen was super helpful and pleasant and Kay in the breakfast are was "the best." Outside of that the staff were okay. The place was quiet and we liked the location away from traffic. They get so many weekend tourist in Fredericksburg I feel the staff is just plain fed up with people during the week.
We had a very nice experience at the Best Western. We were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. The room (two queen beds) was very large and also had a sofa and side chair. The bathroom was large and clean. The breakfast room is very charming but very small. However, a meeting room located nearby offers additional seating. Food was typical complimentary breakfast fare, but was hot and tasty. The location is convenient to Main Street, although not really within walking distance.
Not only was Fredericksburg & the close radius of fascinating locales extremely interesting to visit, but the proximity, staff & comforts of the hotel were most certainly appreciated & enjoyed. Found, for the price, the value just right. Truly would recommend & look forward to a return in the near future.
We arrived at 9ish in the morning in Fredericksburg after several hours of driving. We were just passing through to San Antonio for a doctor's visit. We ate a good breakfast and dropped by the hotel on the off chance they might have a room open that early. No cars in the lot on arrival. Whole place looks empty. Went inside and asked about early check in. Manager looks at me like I'm an idiot and says they were busy last night. She didn't bother checking the computer. I asked if we could check back in a few hours around noon. She says check in is at 3. So come back after 3. Note: it wasn't what she said that bothered me. It was how the whole situation was approached and how it was said. So my wife and I, both military members, decided to explore the town since it was Veteran's day and we had a while. We walked the main strip of the town and spent hours killing time until we were finally pretty tired at 2. Now we returned to the hotel hoping something might be ready by now... Same manager. Same response. Same attitude. Tells us to go find something to do because there's lots of stuff to do in this town. So I double tapped the question because it seemed unlikely they would have 0 rooms by 2 pm. Again she didn't bother checking the computer. Just blew us off. So now we waited in our car outside the hotel until 3. This time I wore a body cam inside to make sure I document our stay for Trip Advisor. Now it was someone different at the desk and he was much more friendly and helpful. I was able to finally check in and got our room keys. We went to the second floor with our bags. The first thing we notice is how hot the hallway and elevator are. Then we discover our keys don't work. I try both several times, then ask the desk clerk about it. Instead of taking my word he tries the keys on the side door which is supposed to be locked but isn't so it doesn't work. Then he goes to our room and tries and they don't work so finally he reactivates them. I took video of most of this and I'll upload when I get back home. Also filmed the parking lot multiple times throughout the stay and there was never more than 2 or 3 cars total. The room itself was very dated. Old green carpet and old appliances. I also filmed a nasty stain on our bedding. In the morning we tried to leave around 4 am. The night clerk said he couldn't check us out for another 20 minutes because he hadn't done the night audit yet. He was friendly but didn't seem to know how to handle the situation. Finally he suggested he can finish the process without us and send a receipt to our email. I accepted and we left. Overall we were not impressed with the service or the hotel. Friendliness goes a long way but management couldn't even manage that. Plus the hotel needs a major overhaul. When we come through Fredericksburg again we'll stay somewhere else like the Comfort Inn across the street or LaQuinta down the road. Both cost less and had better service. If I were you I would truly deeply consider your options because Fredericksburg has plenty of other places that are happy to go over the top to earn your business.
The hotel cancelled my reservation for 2 nights on a crowded weekend. We had no place to stay and the hotel did nothing to help us. We had to find our own accomdations and pay lots more money since it was last minute. No resimbursement from Best Western. I even notified corporate and asked for a refung..Nothing. Forget Best Western.

Stayed here for recently rescheduled marching band competition. It was literally only a couple of blocks from the fields. Nice room, nice staff, nice breakfast. Nothing but good things to say really. Not a 5-star hotel, but it was just what we needed, and it was quiet.
Nothing spectacular but met my needs for the one night I stayed. Staff was not very friendly and overlooked the fact that I was standing there waiting to be served and chose to ask the person behind me if they needed help. Really?
Overall it was a very nice place to stay. A little pricey for what you get though and the bed was too soft, so I woke with a sore back. The Breakfast was very nice. Easy to find and close to everything, you might want to do.
I had a very pleasurable experience staying at the Fredericksburg Best Western. It was easy to locate & I found it to be very well maintained. It was clean outside and inside. The best part was the incredibly friendly, genuine & helpful staff. I would definitely stay there again.
As requested, I was given a room in a quiet location...only problem was the guests next door had left their small, nervous dog alone in their room while they left for dinner (against hotel policy; so not their fault). We travel with our dog often and this type of behavior by a pet's companion gives all of us a black eye. The refrigerator had been turned off without removing ice trays, so when it was opened water spilled everywhere. The free breakfast was a bit below average, but adequate for small appetites. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful and overall, I had an ok stay.
Older hotel with average amenities. Breakfast was fine, wished for more variety Would choose a new hotel, if that was an option. The location was central location so easy to go anywhere in Fredericksburg.
On a trip to visit family in Fredericksburg, Texas I reserved a room at the Best Western Plus. The room was not completely clean. Small pieces of paper on the floor by bed. The in room fridge was off balance and vibrated through the night. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large and clean. Mixed bag.
If anyone reads my reviews they know I try to look at the good, but this time I couldn't really find any. This was the WORSE hotel I think I've ever stayed in. Hotel.com was great because we were on the road, called them and they made the reservation for us while we were driving...that was the end of the good stuff. We got to the hotel and the people seemed nice enough, not overly, but enough. We got our first room(you know that bad is coming when it's the "first" room) and walked in to the smell of urine. Kind of like an animal or person had decided to mark it's territory. I went to the front desk to ask for a different room and since another guest was checking in I waited to say anything because I didn't want to complain in front of other people and open the door for them to complain, but I should have. Because I didn't say anything right away the old lady behind the counter did the old high school scowl with the what do YOU want movement. Anyone that has a teenager knows what I'm talking about. I told them of the smell and asked for another room and that was when any vestige of niceness went away. It was SUCH and ordeal but they did give us another room, upstairs right next to the elevator and ice machine. When we asked what the new room number was we got no response and we were told it was upstairs, that was all, although the room number was written on the key card holder... but they couldn't say? We asked where it was and the response was again upstairs(maybe an attempt at a joke except it was stated with a scowl so I don't know). We asked how to get up there and then saw the stairs and asked if that was the way and finally one of the ladies told us where the elevator was. Now the condition of the room. The room was small, which is fine, but also dirty. You walk in and you're hit with a strong odor of a very sweet room freshener, like they're trying to mask smells instead of cleaning the source of them. Maybe because the hotel is 'pet friendly' is why they do that, I don't know. There were hairs on a couple of the towels and the cleaning staff was SO attentive that there was popcorn in the microwave. Not a bag of popcorn for the guest, but loose popcorn that someone had obviously made prior to us staying there. The next morning at around 8:15 we went down for the complimentary breakfast only to find the egg tray empty, the breakfast meat tray empty, a little bit of gravy stuck in a corner of the gravy bin and some hard biscuits and a couple different types of what I guess was danish...oh, and some fruit in a syrup that I couldn't figure out what it was and some apples. A couple of the other guests were joking with us about the "quality" of the hot breakfast and the fact that you couldn't cut the biscuits with the knives they provided, even after covering them with the remnants of gloppy gravy. One of the guests asked an employee if they were going to refill anything, were told yes, but even after another 20 minutes sitting there waiting, we finally gave up and went back to the room to pack and leave. I wonder if they ever got anything else. In conclusion I can only suggest you don't stay here and if you do, good luck.
I was just here for the night and thought that this could be a top notch hotel with some attention to details by the cleaning staff. Also if they don't have they need a housekeeping inspector they ned to hire one.. The hallway which is carpets was dirty…not a good first impression. My room smelled heavy of air freshener. What were they trying to cover up? The bed skirt…dirty. The bathroom looked as if housekeeping got in a hurry…towels and wash clothes just thrown on the racks. A dirty cleaning rag hung next to wash clothes. Water marks all over faucets in the sinks. The shower/tub combination was clean and its quite large. The carpet needed to be cleaned as evidenced by the bottom of my socks. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. I left before breakfast. Jerry checked me in…was very nice.
I had no issues at this hotel, everything went very well. Because I was doing multiple excursions in the Fredericksburg area, I used this hotel as a base for five days. The location was perfect for visiting the Admiral Nimitz Museum, the National Museum of the Pacific War, The Fredericksburg Pioneer Museum (a gem), Luckenbach TX, and the LBJ Ranch. On top of this, there are multiple restaurants in town that serve excellent German food. The hotel is situated a short distance above "Main Street", so the location is quiet. All in all, a very good hotel in a fun area.
This is the second time I've stayed here within a 30 day period. The staff knew I was coming back and I gave them the opportunity to make it right after my first bad experience, but they really didn't care. Room cleanliness and attention to detail is not the strong suit of this hotel. Additionally, the staff is not the friendliest and some would say rude. If you don't care about the cleanliness of your room or how the staff treats you, then this is the place for you.
