We have stayed at several Best Westerns over the years. This was one of my least favorite. The hotel was too overpriced for their amenities. Pool area was small. Hot tub extremely small and chemicals were not balanced. Severe foaming/bubbling. Pool area was in dire need up updating and maintenance. Room and breakfast area were great. Price quoted for room and what they wanted to charge me were different. Had to insist on price quoted. Still too overpriced.
Stayed while visiting House on the Rock and Taliesin - Frank Lloyd Wright's estate and architect school. Room was very clean and prepped for our stay. The air was set at 70 and the fan on low, so the room didn't smell stale when we arrived. The Bathroom was very clean too. Breakfast the next morning was the typical hotel serve yourself type food. But the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. So I can't complain about it. The Manager was very nice, and welcoming. So, I would definitely stay here again.
Had family emergency come up and couldn't get a refund for our room. I think we should have gotten one. They should have better way to communicate on how to get a refund . Not an easy system to try to figure out. Would still like to get refund or some type of credit. We usually do this trip every year
Hotel was very Nice and clean, location was great, room was very clean, services was good, breakfast was excellent sausage, eggs, pancake, yogurt, muffin, donut cereal etc, it is My favorita hotel, i recommend to every to stay in Best western,
If you've use Best Western Inn and suites before, you'll feel at home here. All the staff are fantastic. From first check-in you're made to feel welcome. Housekeeping is excellent, lovely daily rotated breakfast items. Everyone on reception desk is friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and the location is easy to find. Only a couple of minutes drive from loads of restaurants. i highly recommended to everyone to stay in Best western Dodgeville inn and suites
Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the basic Best Western food. The kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool. We had a problem with the AC in our room and advised the front desk. They were apologetic and quick with solving the problem. The location was good for the different activities we wanted to do in the area.
Diamond Elite Member since 1991. Stayed 07/04/24 in a Theme Cabin Room. They should be very proud if their hotel. Very professional and were very good at customer satisfaction. Even it in a small town they are very proud of their hotel and it shows. I stay at a lot of nights in hotels around the USA and am Diamond Elite Member for a lot of hotel chains with good and bad reviews of hotels. I use TripAdvisor for before booking for my crew or personal travel. I know that some people can't be satisfied anytime but should get credit when credit is deserved. Nice Job!!! Dusty Rhoades
My friend and I stayed here for two nights and it was a very pleasant stay! The hotel is clean and quiet, and the staff is really friendly. And there's a cool pool where you can swim from inside the building to outside for the kids! I'd recommend this to anyone staying in the area.
A very well maintained, clean and up-to-date hotel. Breakfast was excellent with many items available. Two items to note: 1. It is a motel on the first floor, with doors that face to the parking lot, hotel on the second floor, and 2. they do no have an elevator, so if you stay on the second floor you'll be carrying your stuff up the stairs. Otherwise, we had no complaints, It is very close to House on the Rock and Taliesin.
This hotel Is ok for a night or two. It is in dire need of some TLC. Outdoor pool is a LOT smaller than the pics on the website look. Breakfast was so so.
I have always been able to get great rooms at any Best Western. The room was very comfortable and very quiet. The free breakfast buffet was very good also. I will definitely keep staying at Best Western when we travel. They have great service and reasonable rates.
Our family enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Also, I didn't come across anything that was broken or didn't work, which is pretty unusual. In addition to the cleanliness, staff, and working order of everything, we appreciated the coffee and tea available 24/7 in the lobby. Also noticed the hotel was quiet despite it being a holiday weekend with lots of guests. We couldn't hear the highway, either. And during nice weather we loved being able to open the windows! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
We always plan our trips at the best western hotel and can never complain about the customer service or food or friendliness they always greet with a smile and accomodateany of your needs while staying
I stayed in this hotel in Dodgeville WI just out of necessity due to no other hotels in the area having decent reviews. When I pulled into the parking lot I was a bit taken aback by the deserted car in the lot without a front bumper and a flat tire. The grass was way too long and some of the units had a door to the outside on the first floor with smoking towers between them. Knowing my other options and my need to be in this area I thought I would still check it out. The front desk staff was very friendly and I was able to check in at 12:30pm. To my surprise and satisfaction the room I was given was immaculate. No dust or dirt in the corners. Crisp white sheets and fairly new carpet throughout the facility. Updated bathroom and comfortable beds. The fitness room is very small with just a treadmill and a recumbent stationary bike. They do have a rather big pool, a bit outdated but serves its purpose with a fun little swim out feature to be able to go outside. There was also a hot tub. I did see that there are rooms in the hotel that also have hot tubs within the room. The breakfast area was nice and updated. Food was okay. Some hot items, cereal, pancakes, muffins, yogurt coffee and juices. The housekeeping staff was super friendly.
This is the absolute nicest all around hotel that I've ever stayed in. We stayed in Americ inn by Wyndham last year and we do not like to stay in Americ inn by Wyndham this year because the staff and hotel are not good. Pool was dirty and filthy. We decided to stay in Best western dodgeville inn and suites this year. The staff from top to bottom all look like they enjoy working here. That's enough said!! A special call out to Karie and Tonya. They both go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. I will stay here anytime that I'm in Dodgeville. Keep up the great work. Room was bigger than other hotel. Location was great. Service is exceptional. You guys are wonderful and I appreciate all that you've done for us. I'm in the hospitality business and I wish I had staff this wonderful working for me. I recommend everyone to stay in Best western Dodgeville inn and suites.
Pleasant staff, very friendly. I just felt that they did "just enough". Most hotels give you six pillows for a queen bed, we got 4. As for towels, we each got one bath, one hand and one washcloth. They were good at filling the toilet paper (not every place is). They cleaned up the room every day, taking out garbage and making the bed. We had a two room suite, which was huge but it lacked "something". There was plenty of closet and drawer space. There was a sofa bed and normally you get a couple of extra pillows and a blanket. Nope. Room was clean and smelled fresh. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. It did look like the recently gave it an upgrade as the carpet looked new as did the paint. Bathroom was very clean, especially the tub. The bathroom mirror rocked! Breakfast was not lousy tasting but basically meh. Donuts were mini chocolate hostess ones and only 3 or 4 in the container. Muffins were mini ones as well and again just a few. Sausage was nuked brown and serve that were super pale. Eggs were decent as were the bagels. English muffins were tiny and they had regular sliced bread. I was suspect of the cream cheese not kept on ice or at least cool. A few sad envelopes of oatmeal. They had cereal dispensers with several choices. I went to get a yogurt out of the fridge and there were only two in there. How about more? I felt guilty taking one. And why not some nice Danish? And actual full sized donuts or muffins? As for the fruit, just a couple of bananas and apples.. again, they seemed to do just enough to get by. Nothing bad, but nothing blew us away. They could change it up as many places do. Rotate out the meat, bacon one day, sausage the next etc.... Again, not bad but I expected (and have had) better. They had a menu board at the door, so I was really expecting something outstanding. Honestly, just okay. I really appreciated the cleanliness but it felt closer to a Super 8 vs a Best Western.
Without a reservation, we found the Best Western welcoming and very comfortable for a one night's stay while visiting southwestern Wisconsin. The room was clean, well stocked with towels, etc., and had a microwave and refrigerator with freezer (which was NOT caked with frost as we've found in other hotels!). Liked the firm beds, plenty of pillows, and good lighting and 'smart mirror' in the bath. Appreciated the fresh fruit among the breakfast offerings. The second floor room facing the street was quiet. Pleasant, helpful staff.
Nice carpeting..nice tv...The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. Our room could have used more than one chair( that had lost all its padding)....just a suggestion for the management: the heater unit is in need of repair (it was very loud and distracting). The rooms could use some upgrading (furniture), better toilet paper, and clocks need to changed to align with Daylight Savings Time. Also, please be aware that breakfast is only served until 9 am on a Sunday.
My recent visit to the Best Western in Dodgeville, WI, was not only disappointing in terms of the stay itself but also in the management's handling of my feedback. The initial impression was marred by clutter and disarray in common areas, and this theme of neglect extended to our room, where cleanliness and maintenance were notably lacking. The room presented multiple issues, from malfunctioning window treatments to unclean bedding on the sofa bed. The lack of attention to cleanliness was apparent, with sticky surfaces and a general feeling of disrepair. Efforts to enjoy the hotel's amenities were further dampened by overcrowding and a lack of maintenance, contributing to an overall poor experience. The situation escalated when I attempted to address these concerns. After leaving feedback on TripAdvisor and Google, I was contacted by the hotel manager following two days and multiple calls from my side. In a 12-minute conversation, the manager stipulated that a 50% refund would only be issued on the condition that I remove my negative reviews. Despite my argument that compensation should not be contingent on the suppression of honest feedback, the manager insisted this was the only resolution. Reluctantly, I complied, deleting my reviews, only to be informed that I must now also send an email promising not to repost my original critique to finalize the refund process. I was told if I repost my original review, I will be charged IN FULL and my 50% refund WILL NOT BE HONORED. This demand struck me as both unprofessional and coercive, a stark deviation from what one would expect in terms of customer service and conflict resolution. This ordeal has not only tainted my perception of this specific establishment but has also raised concerns regarding the brand's approach to customer feedback and satisfaction. The insistence on retracting honest reviews in exchange for compensation is a practice that undermines trust and transparency, essential components of the hospitality industry. The experience serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the importance of upholding standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and, fundamentally, respect for guest feedback. It underscores the need for prospective guests to consider not just the physical aspects of their accommodation but also the integrity and professionalism of its management. Great staff! Very nice and helpful in every way possible!! Knew me by name as soon as I walked in the door. Nice place good people nice bed! Comfy not loud or overbearing in anyway. Nicest place in Dodgeville!
Very clean, spacious rooms. Ample furniture in great condition. Bed is perfect! The Receptionists are courteous, warm and friendly. I stayed for the whole week. Felt like I am in a family environment away from home. Peaceful and safe. Nice lobby and nice indoor pool as well as outdoor pool.
this is the nicest non-luxury hotel i have ever stayed in! the rooms are so nice and clean with huge windows and great ammenties. the gym is the best hotel gym i have ever seen (full weight rack included), everyone was super nice and the breakfast had great options. it was also so reasonably priced. don't bother even looking at other hotels, stay here
The staff is very welcoming and friendly. As advertised online, They have a phenomenal set up for breakfast. The room was clean and cozy, and they even allowed a 1pm check out. Clean, well run hotel. Morning breakfast buffet is good. Rooms are basic, clean. Fridge in every room. Have stayed here many times and would go back again.
Staff was very friendly. Room was super clean. Bed was very comfortable. The hot tub is a lovely feature. It is nice that you offer regular and decaf coffee in the cafe area. A/C worked perfectly. Room was clean. Front of house staff is friendly. Back of house staff are at the ready cleaning rooms by 11 AM and say "Hello". Spouse loved the amount of bacon and variety of food options for breakfast. I would recommended to everyone.
This location is excellent! Nice quiet location with a great pool if you're traveling with children. Breakfast was hot and delicious! Staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. Room was very clean and perfectly maintained. My checking in process was fast my checkout process was faster. Breakfast was good. 5 stars for the coffee in the lobby. Would highly recommend staying here.
We stayed in others hotels in the area. This is by far the best hotel to stay at!!!!! Quiet clean friendly The best! The staff were very helful and friendly. Check in went very smoothly. The beautifully decorated room was very large and clean. We even had a couch!!! We enjoyed the hot breakfast. The pancakes are great! Much, much, much better than other hotels that we have stayed at in the area. Thank you so much for making our stay there a wonderful one!!!!!!!
This hotel provides excellent service, large, clean rooms and comfortable beds. An excellent choice when exploring the area! The breakfast is consistently good and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome!
Terrible customer service, we asked front desk for a late check out due to a funeral. While loading front desk came yelling at us in the parking area. Turns out we had to pay $30 for checking out late, which was never mentioned prior. We paid it since yes we stayed late, but then they charged my mom for my dog fee which I already paid for my pet fee, but since her dog and mine are the same breed we must have had them together in the same room? So we were charged twice for the same dog at $30 each. Worst experience, will not return again.
I highly recommend this place. The staff is gracious and the sweetest people you'll ever meet. They went out of their way to make our family feel like their family and every time we come through here we will stop here and stay. Very professional. This place has the cleanest rooms better than Americ inn in town and all of the Best Western Inn and every other hotel I've ever stayed in.
The staff was friendly and helpful upon arrival. The check-in process was quick and easy. The room was clean when we arrived. The breakfast looked good although we didn't have time to grab any before our departure, however the coffee was fresh. This was a newer hotel and they have kept it in good operating condition! I would recommend this hotel to everyone
The staff was very welcoming upon our arrival. They recommended a great restaurant in town and even made sure we got there. There are other motel choices in town but I would send my friends and family to this Best Western.
I've found this motel to be my best choice in the Dodgeville area. good staff and always clean, can be pricey at times. I did not need to say more, but their "guidelines" require 200 char min. CRAP, 8 more characters!!!
Easy to find. SUPER friendly staff, super spacious room, cold water and lemonade available in the lobby, great breakfast choices. Super clean. One of the best motels I have stayed at in years. Should be a PLUS Best Western.
We were in the area for a getaway weekend and to see a play in Spring Green. The hotel in general and our room in particular were clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay there again.
Great location, always clean. The night manager Dan has been nothing short of amazing! He is helpful, polite, and made me feel at home on my extended stay. The entire staff is great as well. Thank you for a great stay!!!
The hotel was very clean. Looked like new carpet in hallways, if not, they were very well kept. Room was large and clean. Breakfast had hot (scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes), and the usual cereal, pastries, bagels, toast and fruit. Wait staff was very friendly. The only drawback was we had to use stairs to carry our luggage up to the second floor as there wasn't an elevator.
I've stayed here a few times, it's become my new favorite hotel in the dodgeville area. Location is great, so it's usually very quiet. Rooms are nice, clean and views are good. Within walking distance from Culver's, McDonald's, Walmart and Pizza Hut . I Highly recommend this place to everybody.
Room smelled moldy, air conditioner filthy, sofa bed too dirty to sleep on. We won't go back. The rooms are stinky and we would highly recommend a deep cleaning. We had to open the window and front door to try and air out the room.
Everyone is very nice and a very excellent experience and stay everyone that does good and very excellent at front desk and breakfast were fantastic sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy etc. Rooms are clean. Location was excellent. I highly recommend to everyone who is traveling into Dodgeville.
Nice hotel with pool and hot tub. Breakfast included. Plenty of parking available. Check in staff very friendly. We'll stocked bathrooms. Indoor and outdoor pool, indoor hot tub. Towels provided. Restaurants in the area.
Room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Nonetheless, not a great value. Was somewhat expensive for that class of hotel, the gym was being used to store boxes for some sort of project and was closed. There are no elevators, so if you are on the second floor, you need to lug all your bags up the stairs. Clientele was playing loud music in the parking lot until midnight which interfered with sleep.
The rooms are good sized and clean. It had a handy fridge in the room. Not my idea of a good bed, but husband was OK with it. Nice pool - indoor/outdoor and plenty of spots to sit and relax. The younger family members really enjoyed it. Good breakfast setup and good selection. Thanks to a recommendation from someone at the pool, we had a wonderful meal at a Mexican restaurant downtown - and they seated us 15 minutes before closing (Sunday night tough to find a place that was open). General ambiance of lobby, pool and breakfast room seemed to foster friendly interaction with other guests.
This was a very nice and clean Best Western. The rooms were larger with a nice sitting area and couch. They were clean, had plenty of charging outlets and I really liked the new bathroom mirrors that had adjustable lighting. The pool area looked clean and I liked the little outlet that led outside. My husband would have liked a few more TV channels but we really didn't need them.
Very nice hotel. Clean, comfortable. Breakfast included eggs and sausage, pancakes, bagels, cereals, various sweet breads, etc. We stayed here while on a bike trip. We're able to stay in a room on the first floor that had an outside door. This made it very convenient for us to move our bikes and gear in and out.
Best hotel stay we have had in a long time! The staff is awesome and the rooms were perfect! The full breakfast was great as well. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with our stay. The staff went over and above! If you plan to stay in Dodgeville wisconsin. this hotel is the best! I highly recommend it!!!
I am so pleased with how clean and organized everything is here. Management has stepped above and beyond at helping make that happen! Carpets have been shampooed in all rooms, the air conditioning units have been pulled out and cleaned, the bathrooms have been remodeled. And not to mention the 55” TVs going in the rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. Even management works when needed. Ken the gm is always working around the motel along with Dan. Tonya is great with breakfast along with helping at the desk. Karie is informative and helpful with 2nd shift and Brian the night auditor always busy thru out the night keeping things in check. I recommend this place to everyone
Whirlpool was nice and the bathroom was fine. Tv and air were working but the room was very dusty. Thick layer on headboard and behind bed. Under bed not vacuumed and gross stain on chair cushion that looked like blood.
The staff were so friendly they knew that was there because of my being in a nursing I travel from ny as much as i can they always accommodate me the handicap room Due to my disability They always ask how my mom is doing They always remember me when i check in
Very nice and clean hotel better than Other hotel in the town. Location was perfect. Room was nice and big. Very professional staff, loved indoor and outdoor Pool, hot tub. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
This hotel really went beyond our expectation. The room was nice and clean. The staff was kind and helpful. I even forgot my charger in my room. They called me and sent it back. Great value for you money.
Excellent stay in a beautiful hotel. Very nice in all regards. Will stay there again in the near future. Hotel appears to be very new and well run. All amenities are top notch at a very fair price and all request when ask were taken care of as requested..
The title sums it up. The price was high for the dated facility. Pool in need of a cleaning and repainting. Bathroom shower needs replaced. The floor of it was in need of a good scrubbing. There is no elevator to the upper level.
The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakast had a nice variety of items to choose from and an attendant that kept things stocked and clean. The internet was reliable. The beds were super comfortable. We asked for a second luggage rack and it was delivered promptly. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice quiet hotel. Had a suite with a couch and chair w/ footrest. Both were very comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of food to choose from. Didn't get to use the pool because it was cold & rainy. Front desk clerk was very friendly and informative. This was our 2nd time staying here (also stayed last Sept 2021). I would stay here again in the future if up in the area.
We stopped here after a long day of driving and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room (especially at the price, around $120) and the customer service. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Brand new and very nice. Clean, maintained and staffed well. All my encounters with the staff have been friendly and courteous! Location is conveniently off the interstate exit, but set well back enough off the main road to give privacy and quiet. I was happy to see coffee brewed and ready in the lobby at 5am as we were heading back on the road. Great value for the price, would definitely stay again!
The staff was nice but the overall smell of the room made it very hard to sleep or relax. The room smelled very musty and the rungs were dirty. It was a convenient location for the House on the Rock and it is just ok for a one night stay.
The rates are high for an older, 2 star hotel. The room was clean, but it had a smell like like it had been a smoking room. The wifi did not reach the room at the end of the hallway, so we had to sit in the lobby to use the internet. The staff was friendly upon check-in and at breakfast, and the hotel was clean inside and out.
Not the best stay, definitely not what I expected from a Best Western. The room definitely needed some TLC. Our room smelled strongly like wet dog. It was like a bad landlord special in the bathroom with paint and caulk coverups and the shower was stained, scummy and outdated. The couch in the room was badly worn and stained. Our room had both an inside door and an outside door. (weird) In our case, the inside door would not work with our room key but the outside door did so we had to use the outside door all weekend because there was apparently nothing the staff could do about it. I had tried to see if we could switch rooms and again nothing the staff could do for us. The man working was not empathic at all and really just didn't seem to care. The pool area, while unique, needs some serious updating and deep cleaning. The hot tub was warm at best and the second night closed for cleaning. The "hot" parts of breakfast definitely just came out of a microwave and the cereals and slices of bread were not fresh. Overall I was seriously disappointed, it's what I would have expected from a budget motel, not a Best Western. The price was comparable if not more than much nicer hotels in the area. If I had the choice I definitely wouldn't have chosen differently, but everywhere was booked nearby. If you are planning a trip to this area book early so you don't have to stay here! *edit to add- there seems to be a generic pasted response on many poor reviews. ". I am very disappointed to hear that you found our service to be below your standards. We would like to know more. Please email us with a phone number or email address so our Hotel Manager can discuss your issues personally." There is no email address to reach out to. Leave me an email address and I will be happy to discuss my review further.
This hotel is not clean! The pool and hot tub were filthy and the outdoor pool had black objects floating in it. The bathroom in our room was not clean. We didn't eat breakfast because I was concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Overall, a huge disappointment.
The beds were clean and comfortable, but the bathroom could really be improved. Ugly patching work on the walls, paint overspray on the door, shower floor looked stained, etc. Had trouble with the curtain opening and closing.
Purchased the room last minute and it was a decent price compared to Americinn by Wyndham hotels in the area, the Americinn hotel was dump. The best western was nice better than Americinn in the town. the staff was nice, polite and welcoming. Love this hotel. Customer service is amazing and employees are so patient. My 6 year old son became friends with the front desk and they always took time to listen to him. Iced tea and water always available in the lobby and pool area. The bathrooms and pool area is constantly cleaned during the day. Breakfast is great too and employees were quick to refill all items. Tables always cleaned, so enough space is available for guests. Pool towels also available. I would recommend to this hotel every one better than Americinn in dodgeville.
Great place to stay for a couple of nights. Good for families with children as well as adults. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very clean a fairly sound proof. The indoor/outdoor pool looked fun though we didn't have time to use it. The breakfast was more than adequate. I would have rated it 4.5 stars if I'd had that option.
We placed a reservation in March for a two night stay (June 23rd and 24th) in a room with two beds. Our request was acknowledged by an email from this hotel. That message had the price of payment clearly stated. The week before we visited there, I got a phone call from the hotel asking if we really needed two beds. I assured them that was what we'd requested nearly 3 months earlier. Imagine our surprise when we checked out to find they'd upped the cost of our stay from the payment clearly stated in the confirmation email. We were charged more than twice what we were originally told because "we requested an upgrade" We never requested an upgrade. At no time were we ever told about an "upgrade charge" If at all possible, we've stayed at BW hotels whenever we've traveled. This time our room was dirty, the furniture was stained and worn, and the bathroom had quite a bit of mold. What a ripoff! Although we've been part of BW's loyalty club for more than 10 years, we'll never stay at this or any other of their hotels again.
It's not worth paying over 120 dollars for a room that tv will not stay on. It's constantly shut off will not stay on longer then 2 minutes. The WiFi doesn't work hardly if you on the far end of the hotel. You have to constantly keep turning on and off the WiFi. You only get two towels in the room. The house keeping is always knocking on the door at starting at 9:50am - 10:30. Asking if you are leaving which is completely unprofessional if I told them yes at check out and they come knock again 20 minutes later asking if we are leaving again. Check out is 11. I shouldn't have to keep telling them when I have the do not disturb sign up. If you forget your key in the room and have to ask for a new they make you feel uncomfortable for making a mistake. The pool is nice it's indoor and outdoor heated so that is very nice for children. The bath tub was filthy. No elevator but the main guy at the front desk doesn't tell you so you load everything up on the cart they have and then he tells you “we don't have elevator use stairs”. Would be nice to know before hand. They still don't have breakfast but a grab and go. Every hotel has a breakfast now since the pandemic it's quite ridiculous not to have a breakfast at this point and for the price you're paying.
VERY friendly, helpful and well informed staff. Room was old. Shower rod was literally on its last threads barely hanging on the wall and drooping badly. Easy fix, why not do it? Lack of attention to these details really affects guest stay. Bed was also VERY uncomfortable. We both woke up with backaches. Room and facility was clean and one of the few in the area that was pet-friendly. That's the only reason we picked this hotel or would again.
First and foremost the staff at Best Western Dodgeville were wonderful. My husband left his favorite baseball cap there, we called, they found it and mailed it back to us. Who does that nowadays! The woman in charge of the breakfast made sure the food was always well supplied, taught us how to use their pancake machine, and then went around to the tables to make sure everyone had what they needed. Breakfast was the typical hotel offerings that you get everywhere but it was good. Room was very clean, bathroom was a bit outdated but clean.
Very clean rooms and breakfast is great. Carol puts her own touch on it so you get great options for a continental breakfast. The staff are very helpful and very welcoming. Best stay in the area. Very close to The house on the rock and the cave of the mounds.
Hotel staff super nice, very clean, beds comfortable, breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The pool is so fun, the grandkids had the best time swimming inside to outside! I enjoyed the jacuzzi, very relaxing.
Weekend get away. Our stay was excellent. Hotel was very clean and staff was excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was very good it had a great variety of food to choose from!! I would highly recommend this hotel.
My family and I stayed at this beautiful hotel the weekend of March 12, 2022. The staff was very accommodating and super friendly. I loved that the hotel is centrally located. it is close to restaurants, stores, and gas stations, university. Our room was very clean and so was the pool area.We were very impressed. The FREE continental breakfast was a huge hit. It included eggs, meat, waffles, cereal, mil, coffee...most of the items found in a typical American breakfast. It was very good. We will definitely be staying here on future trips. Thank you for making our trip enjoyable,
Checked in late night, the attendant on duty was very pleasant and gave me a warm, appreciated welcome. Our room was nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The location was nice near to Walmart, Walgreen and culvers etc. Went to breakfast and it was delicious with great choices. Carol had prepared everything to perfection and absolutely made my day with her pleasant interactions and helpfulness. I look forward to staying again in the future!! Highly recommend to everyone.
During these stressful times of Covid and after traveling across the country we were so grateful to have such a wonderful staff to meet at this hotel. They could not have been more kind, attentive and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. There were excellent restaurant choices within a short mile of this hotel. Thank you for providing such an excellent staff all the way from the front to the breakfast, we could not be more grateful. THIS hotel is the place to stay if you want excellent service, a truly caring staff and a good night's sleep!
I use the pool once in a while for hydrotherapy exercises and swimming. The pool area is pleasant. There is a spa tub in the pool area that is small but nice. The bathroom/shower area is clean as well as the restroom I used across the hall to change. I will say--both the pool and spa tub could have been cleaner (using a skimmer would be good) but not horrible. It looks like the hotel is gradually replacing the pool area chairs. There were stacks of clean folded towels on the tables in the pool area for people to use. I can't say anything about the rooms themselves because I don't use those (I live in the area). The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming.
This is the nicest Best western Inn & suites. I have ever stayed in. From the front desk to housekeeping to the folks keeping the hotel common areas clean, everyone was cheerful, helpful, and eager to make sure our stay was wonderful. Ken was especially kind and helpful in finalizing the details of our stay and Tammy and Dan assisted us when we arrived as well. We were there for 2 nights and even though the hotel was full, it was quiet and always spotless. Breakfast was wonderful with something for everyone and the cheerful "breakfast ladies" (Carol) worked hard to keep everything stocked and tidy. We were surprised and delighted to have our room cleaned and it was so nice to return at night to a tidy, comfortable room. I would recommend to everyone.
Staff was very nice and worked around anything I needed! Check in was very easy and they also added onto my stay a couple days and was no problem for them at all! Rooms were clean and have had a overall good trip!
we checked in early and our room was ready, the woman behind the desk was very, very friendly. Had to have our door reprogramed bc they just installed a new system for automatic keys. we visited the House on the Rocks during day and then went to do the dark side special event at the House on Rocks. Upon returning noticed there were cockroaches, NOT just 1 or 2 BUT INFESTED. ours and my daughters (who was in an upstairs room) Was told we could switch rooms, HOWEVER, if one room has them more then likely the rest of place has them. Was told they have an exterminator come once a month to spray for ROACHES. If you have to have an exterminator come once a month YOU'VE GOT AN ISSUE!!!!. Told gentleman at front desk we were checking out (daughter and her husband also) and that we better not be charged for room. He told us we would have to wait until Monday for Manger to return, my husband said NO, I'll be calling corporate first thing in morning The pool was nasty dirty, slimmy looking bottom. Hot tub was out of order and looked to have been for a while. Was a nasty odor thru out the whole building. Would not RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone and it's sad that it has the BEST WESTERN NAME!
I was very happy with my recent stay at this hotel, over the Halloween weekend. Staff was polite & friendly. Room was clean and in excellent shape. Breakfast was served in a manner to maintain social distancing. I would definitely stay at this facility again.
We booked late, my bad, and the room was over $200. On check in there was a very pleasant masked clerk and a sign asking folks to wear masks. In the morning the signs were gone! The clerk and all staff (including the one who sneezed multiple times & the one doing food prep) were not wearing masks. I'm assuming the higher price was for the whirlpool in the room which was nice, but I would rather have had hot water in the morning, which there was not. Barely lukewarm. Baring a few dust bunnies, the room seemed clean enough. I would have liked to have found a clerk at checkout, but was unable to do so. Lastly, please don't reuse the little envelopes the key cards come in. Those could have been anywhere with the last patron. They can't be cleaned and I don't necesarily want to think about the hygiene of the last guy who stuck that in his pocket. Mine was dirty and a little battered when I got it.
Took the grandkids to play in the pool and it was freezing they couldn't stay in it. The hot tub was broken and the rooms were clean enough but everything was dusty. The shower hand hold was broken and no blow dryer
Stayed there on Sunday 9/19. Very pleased the clerk gave us a room on the 1st floor instead of 2nd. It was very hot so we took advantage of the pool. Love that it's indoor and outdoor. The free breakfast was good with lots of options; loved the automatic pancake maker. The breakfast room itself was very nice and had quite a few tables. The room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks to another clerk who re-programmed our room keys when they didn't work.
I would not recommend this place. Room dirty, bathroom, bugs on floor when I turned light on at night in bathroom, gaps in outside door, lobby furniture gross & cracked was charged $167 for night was worth a cheap hotel, furniture in room stained I was afraid to sleep there but came back to room late and the experience with room was awful
Bathroom was dirty. Bugs in the light globes, tub so dirty we did not use it, stuff spattered on walls. Room had terrible odor. Sofa sleeper mattress so old you could feel every spring in it. Lighting very poor in room. Queen beds were comfortable. Hotel is in a good location. Not worth the cost paid!
Stayed in Dodgeville for 2 nights to visit Governor Dodge State park, House on the Rock and Cave of the Mounds. Hotel was quiet and comfortable, stayed in the suite. Breakfast was good with some hot options, including pancakes, sausage and eggs. Staff was very attentive to all our needs.
This hotel is a throw back to old school traveling. It is small and homey with personal touches everywhere. Every employee was polite and cheery. It was a clean, quiet environment. There was ample parking. The breakfast bar exceeded expectations and even had an attendant present to ensure that everyone had what they needed. The bed was really comfortable.
This location is in need of a makeover and bring the look and feel of the venue to a modern hotel. We had a jacuzzi suite and the amenities, for the most part worked but looks like it is from the 80's. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is very good for vacationing and visiting the area attractions.
The stay here was good. The pool is interesting as it goes inside AND outside through the wall! Spa was inop. Breakfast was very good. First time any of us had seen an automatic pancake maker! It was fun to watch!
Way over priced. Didn't feel like a clean place to stay. Room had trim pieces missing, weird paint spots missing. Showers are outdated. Felt like we had to wear shoes as the carpet had a hard sticky feel. Only bedding given was sheets. Could hear dogs barking in someone's rooms. Location was between 2 attractions we were checking out, but would've preferred staying in Madison had we known better.
A special affordable place in a city of Dodgeville. We have many times enjoyed Best Western in different places but this one made my small vacations a treat. The room was very comfortable, the location great and staff was very helpful and friendly. great hotel in a safe area of town, clean rooms, great buffet breakfast, pool was clean and not too many children. The suite where we stayed overlooked the pool and was very quiet. service was quick. We will be back !!
We stayed July 3rd. We paid about 143 dollars plus 15 for our dog for a full size bed. Internet was good, breakfast was good, lobby was pleasant. Pool water looked a little dirty and hot tub was out of order. Also, the bed is advertised as a queen but is in fact a full
We stayed here with our kids to see the House on the Rock and Cave of the Mounds before going to the Dells. Seemed like a good value. Nice indoor/outdoor pool area. We all enjoyed the free breakfast - lots of options. The staff we met at the front desk and at the breakfast room were all very nice and helpful. Very pleased with this place!
After looking at all hotels around I chose this one for the extra couch space. When I got in I didn't receive that . The room smelled like bug spray and the carpets were sticky. Had to buy slippers. I also bought a new blanket. The staff was very friendly but the lobby stunk SO BAD. I could hardly stand it. It was like someone was cooking overly spicy food. I seen people having bug complaints but I didn't see any bugs
Do you like to beg? That's how we got breakfast. Like noise? 2 hours of pickup blasting outside. Like holes in your wall and floor. This is it! Like Tang? You'll love this spot. Smelly heat and air conditioning. Toilet seat supports someone less than 80 pounds. You leave your furniture outside in the rain? This place will meet your expectations.
Nice new hotel with much better than average hot breakfast, nice pool with comfortable lounge chairs. Front desk and all personnel very helpful and friendly. Thank you for the hospitality we will recommend this location and will come back and stay.
This hotel could use some renovations The location is great, but no elevators to the second floor. Not good when you are physically challenged and have to carry baggage up and down stairways. Staff seemed not very concerned about difficulties. Room key didn't work and had to go to the front desk for a new set of keys.
Terrible! Smelt like smoke in all rooms. Found a lighter that you would use to smoke cigarettes in the chair cushion. Outdated. Iron prints on the floor of a room we had. Didn't see much service. Just overall not the best place.
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past but it appears to have new management since prior to the pandemic. While the room itself was ok the rest of the experience was not good. There were a number of sketchy guests staying there. Two guys were regularly in a car in the parking lot smoking dope inside it. Hallway and stairs carpets were filthy. The side of the building to the north looked like a junk yard where furniture that was removed in a remodel from a couple of years ago was left outside to rot. The entry door at the north end of the building did not latch or lock. When we asked for a short extended check out the guy at the front desk wanted $20 and in cash, he insisted it could not be charged to our card. I wonder where that went?! Going to stay in Mineral Point next time. Too bad because we come to Dodgeville fairly regularly to see family.
The hot tub is under construction and judging by other reviews it's been under construction for quite some time. Furthermore the actual pool was very unappealing. The lights inside the pool did not light up so it appeared very dark and murky, there was also a broken pool light that was floating around in the pool. The room itself was big and spacious, however upon checking in there was small items left from previous guests in the room. There are a lot of other hotels in the area that are slightly cheaper that offer working amenities. Overall the stay was fine just a lot of small inconveniences
We have stayed in the area before, but this was our first time staying at this hotel. We arrived late,, and the well lite drive and parking lot was appreciated. The hotel staff was friendly. There was a wide range of breakfast items available and the breakfast person was busy cleaning tables and replenishing food items, but she wasn't too busy to chat and make you feel welcome. The pool area was clean, and cozy. I really enjoyed the heated pool. Our room was clean and was pleasantly surprised that we had house keeping make the beds on our 2nd day. My only complaint would be the tv/dresser was in front of the mirror, leaving the mirror in the bathroom. The only usable mirror in the room. We will stay here on our next trip.
Everyone at The Dodgeville Inn were extremely pleasant. The Breakfast Hostess included everyone in the room in conversation which had us visiting with total strangers, it was very nice. I'm an insomniac yet I slept all night (6hrs) It was dark and quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable.
If you enjoy smoking inside a hotel, this place is for you! For a non-smoking hotel, it was very smoky smelling. We ended up not spending the night because we couldn't stand the smell. My daughter has had open heart surgery and is overly sensitive to smoke odor.
This was the worst hotel I have stayed in and I travel for work every week. It was filled with construction workers that brought in mud and dirt and the the hotel does not clean or vacuum the floors so I to had to walk through mud and dirt. The mattress was horrible and bathroom was disgusting. The dish was broken the entire stay so I had no TV and management didn't even care. Owner/employee's grilling and loud outside all night. NEVER STAY THERE!!! ALSO NOT COVID SAFE AT ALL!!!!
I was blown away by everything with this hotel. I thought it wasn't going to be as nice as a Holiday Inn or something Similar, but was wrong. The room was awesome, stayed in the pool sweet and had a great experience. Would definitely recommend this specific hotel to others. I stay in hotels around the US more than 250 days a year.
We stayed in a themed whirlpool suite. Loved the decor! Whirlpool was very large and clean with plenty of hot water. All the staff are personable and made the stay extra comfortable. Easy checkin process. Breakfast was nice and 1 staff kept the area clean and safe. Very impressed and would recommend to anyone.
We booked a whirlpool suite. The staff were amazing! Our hot tub leaked all over the floor., but Nancy really helped us out. She gave us a different room, even offered to help us move our things! Plumbing and mechanical things like this happen all the time but the great personal service Nancy gave us does not happen all the time. She sets the standard for great staff.
Perfect hotel for my son and I to stay and visit the Park to hike for three days and two nights. We intended to camp but the weather was unseasonably cool and very wet so we decided to stay at this hotel because I traditionally like Best Westerns and this one was only about one mile away from the parks entrance. My son is 11 years old and the indoor/outdoor pool was the best feature as we warmed up from our outdoor adventures and relaxed enjoying the pool, breakfast and comfy room.
Overall not a bad place but it was nothing fancy either. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was disappointed that the whirlpool wasn't working. I would however recommend driving to Mineral Point for eats because that town seems to have more "character".
We arrived at the hotel we were given the wrong room and someone else's reservation it was the last room in the hotel so the other people had to be put up elsewhere we were built incorrectly no one could figure out what was wrong or get their crap together I would not stay here again
We were just driving through, so we planned to just stay one night. The staff was very friendly. The room had 2 queens with new mattresses that were very comfortable. We requested a crib in the reservation and a pack and play was already in the room. Teenage son slept on the sofa-bed, so there was plenty of room. The breakfast was modified due to covid, but it was the best of any place we stayed. They still had pancakes and small egg/sausage sandwiches, along with the usual cereal, oatmeal, breads, muffins, donuts, and juices. The pool was empty, due to covid. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed again the next week on our way home. The room was similar, but the mattresses were older and sagging. It also smelled musty. Breakfast was just as good. The pool had water, but was not open yet.
We stayed here in a standard King room for 1 night on our way up to the Dells. It was very clean and we had a door leading to the interior hallway AND to the exterior of the hotel. However, the only downside was that there was no chain on the door leading to the interior hotel. When we first noticed it, we asked the front desk worker if we could change rooms and she was VERY friendly and obliging. When we saw that our new room also had no interior chain, she said that the hotel must have removed them from all rooms. I felt better knowing that they just didn't have them on any rooms and we moved back to our originally-assigned room. Due to Covid-19, the pool was closed and the breakfast was mostly cold items (although they were all tasty). The hotel had masks at the front desk and plenty of hand sanitizer. Overall, we will be returning there anytime I'm in the area.
Large, Clean rooms, great service, pet friendly with convenient location-access to nearby shops and food. A bit noisy though if you're on ground floor. Didn't get much sleep because it sounded like a herd of elephants were upstairs all night long.
We were given the Whirlpool room at random by the hotel. Because of the tub, it made the room musty and smell funny. But it was tolerable. Also when we tried to run the tub, brown water came out. Must need a cleaning/maintenance. Otherwise stay was fine.
Best Western in Dodgeville, WI was great! Really enjoyed the breakfast! Had a lot of variety & very fresh! Real comfortable beds & clean! Hope the pool opens by the time we return! Looking forward to coming back!
We had an excellent stay. Excellent staff. Room was amazing. We used to stay in a hotel about 20 miles away on business. When our normal hotel was booked full we decided to stay here. We will stay here again and drive the extra miles.
hidden gem e z to find clean pet friendly yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Rooms clean felt safe walk across street 4 sit down type meals if needed would stay here again in a heart beat 110% satified does have an indoor pool looked great did not dip in but also looked clean
We arrived late and in the fog, only to be delighted with seasonal decor, treats, and an awesome pool that spans indoor/outdoor! Stay in Dodgeville, it is worth the drive! Breakfast was also superior with lots of fresh fruit
we had a lower level room with 2 beds and a sofa bed. it was clean and comfortable and quiet only a few rooms from the lobby. they had a full hot breakfast with plenty of seating. had to wait at the desk a while due to high traffic volume at the time
Excellent stay! Great hotel! Friendly, clean, and accommodating. The breakfast exceeded our expectation. We had planned to go out for breakfast until we saw the continental thatwas served. The cost of the stay is well worth it with these amenities.
Dirty, dirty rooms, unfriendly manager; however Nancy and Carol were great. Did the best they could. Can't believe Best Western would put their name on this place. It's usually the only places we stay, Best Western, but we are changing our minds. The owners of some of these don't care about the quality or cleanliness of their places or the job their cleaning staff does so we will be trying elsewhere. We are Diamond members but will not be using them anymore.
I stayed in a theme room with a whirlpool tub, which was great. The bed was so hard I couldn't sleep. The WiFi was the worst I've ever had at any hotel. Breakfast was fine. Location was ok - close to Walgreens and some other fast food places, but a mile from the downtown area. Staff were very friendly.
All staff were great. Good value for the room. Safe area and parking lot. We were tired and grateful to see a good looking BW building in an area that we were unfamiliar. The inside was great, staff were all very attentive and caring. It was just what we needed when we needed it. Thank you BW team!
The room smelled stale, possibly old cigarette smoke. The sofa sleeper cushions had holes in them. The furniture looked dusty/dirty. I dont mind outdated as long as it is clean. The hallways were dimmly lit. I will say the breakfast area was surprisingly clean and neat.
Our pull out bed was broke, and they said they would pass it on, that's it. No discount, no repairs, no replacement, nothing. Also spa was drained but it didn't say anything on the web site or when I called for reservation.
In town for my son's wedding. Had numerous rooms for family and friends. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Clear rooms, swimming for the kids. Breakfast had good variety. Could use better signage out front of building.
First time visiting Dodgeville and this Best Western. Indoor pool full of leaves hotel room smelled like stale beer from the last party! Floor was dirty and cobwebs on a/c unit. The bed was broke Then to top it off they had a loud construction crew put in the room above us, made for a sleepless night. So much for a couples weekend. Will never stay in this place again
Great Best Western, the normal service and amenities of a Best Western! Fresh fruit, bananas, strawberries, melon, pineapple and some local baked pastries including filled donuts made it an exceptional breakfast!!
Chose to stay here due to online reviews. Entry area was flanked with two old cheap chairs were people smoked , should have stopped and gone to next town. Lobby was outdated and dark, but people very friendly and even though expensive, same as a beautiful Hampton the night before, book two rooms for our family. Our rooms were recently updated, appeared clean and fresh, much better that the lobby and hallways. Breakfast was fine with several fruit and protein choices, all staff very friendly, Can you imagine my disgust to return from shower to find blood stains on bottom sheets? I have no wounds on my legs. Pulled up top sheet, similar stain, which can only mean one thing The bed sheets had been previously slept in. Front desk could only apologize and give me $10 off my total $240 bill.
The room was clean and well prepared. Bed slept well. Breakfast was the best I've seen with turkey patties and sausage, automatic pancake maker, all the makings for a great start to the day. Hotel staff was very friendly and thoughtful. I will stay there again when I go back to Dodgeville.
We have been staying at this property a couple of times every year, for the last 10-12 years. The last few years, and particularly during this stay, we've noticed a decline in maintenance and major reduction in staff members (not staff quality). Peeling paint on the ceiling, door locks that require pushing or pulling while using room card and sometimes don't work at all, and most dangerously, a hair dryer that blew sparks and fumes!
It took me a moment or two to determine which door was the main entrance. Street appeal is poor. Facility is being upgraded with new furnishings and such, I sensed it was lipstick on pig. Security chain on door was too short and management allowed other guests to block a door open. It was more of a Motel 6 than what I expected.
My family stayed a couple of nights for a family function in the area. Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel. Our suite was very spacious and pretty clean, albeit a little odd. We're still not sure why there were two mini fridges in the room. We had only two bath towels in a suite made to sleep 4, and no shampoo/conditioner which was surprising, but the staff members were responsive and incredibly friendly. The pool was nice for the kids, and the location can't be beat. My absolute biggest compliments go to the breakfast and the wonderful, patient women who were so kind to us and our kids. The breakfast was hot and well-stocked, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into making breakfast a great experience for guests. We'd stay again, for sure. Great value for the price.
Have stayed at this hotel many times and all I can say it's getting worse! The day to day staff are very helpful. Disappointed the hot tub was still not working after months! Room was dusty curtains were stained Sofa bed had food behind it The linens on my bed was torn The tv blocked the mirror Holes in the wall and carpet by the headboard Bathroom had tape on the baseboard by the toilet Safety rail by the bath tub was broken that's a safety issue Mold down one side of the shower seam Not enough lights in the room it's dark Alarm went off Monday May 27 from 5 am Until at least 8 am no idea why A lot of other guests were very upset no apology from the management. We were staying a week waste of money! It's dog friendly which is nice but one of the staff was having a problem with my two boys walking down the hall with my husband on leash's under control he was by a room which he was cleaning he could have stepped back into the room! This is not nitpicking This hotel needs to get it act together As for breakfast no comment!
We spent one night here. One of the more reasonably priced Best Westerns we have stayed at. The rooms were large, nicely appointed and clean. The clerks were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was typical Best Western breakfast buffet. Nothing to write home about, but they had a decent selection including some hot items and of course it was included with the room so it is always nice not to have to go somewhere else for breakfast. The beds were comfortable. We would definitely would stay here again.
We booked a room for 1 night to attend our niece's graduation party. While staff were friendly, it doesn't make up for the problems during our stay. We booked a room with a sofa bed which was unusable due to the unsanitary condition when pulled out. There was food and filth (staining) on the mattress underneath. Then at 5:00 AM the fire alarms starting going off for no reason. This continued intermittently through the morning. My daughter has a seizure disorder that can be triggered when there is a loud noise. We packed up and left at 7:30 AM. No staff at desk to even discuss issue with. Very disappointing.
We were amazed with our stay here. Rooms were spacious and clean, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast room was super and food terrific and fresh - large selection of choices. Swimming pool was perfect - not too much chlorine. The lobby was beautiful, cozy and inviting. The whole inside of the building smelled good and was clean!! Highly recommend this motel!
The front desk people were excellent, friendly, and very accommodating. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. We appreciated the extra chair and ottoman as well as the couch and desk chair. The staff were eager to answer our questions. They were happy, and that always sets the mood for us to enjoy our time and to go to sleep with a smile.
Drove in from Chicago and wanted to stay the night since it's a 3.5 hour drive. We visited the House on the Rock and the caves. It's not far from either and worth the drive to save a little money. There are only a couple places to eat in Dodgeville and since we don't eat fast food it was a bit of a challenge for the day and time we were there. If we return I will plan to bring a cooler and food for our trip. PROS: The room and bathroom was clean. Basic amenities with a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. The price of the room for the type of stay. We were only in town for one night. We had a long day of driving many hours and walking. The room was clean and basic for what we needed. There was a heated indoor / outdoor pool for my daughter to burn off the rest of her energy. Bring a towel from your room. The towels at the pool are barely big enough to fit around an 11 year old. The staff were friendly and quick check in. Walgreens is right across the street. CONS: The bed was horrible. I tossed and turned and woke up with a sore back. The towel (main bath towel) had a huge yellow stain. Kinda gross. The mini fridge kept making noises all night and waking me up. No little bottle of conditioner. We weren't planning on washing our hair but once my daughter went into the pool she had to wash out the chlorine. This all may be just nitpicking...the only real complaint is the bed.
Don't get the hot tub suit, out once filled the water was brown, drained it and it left residue. They said they would look at it. When we got back tub was still dirty. At check out they said It was good, so I asked why the tub still had residue in it they said because it was used. I didn't not use it and if they had filled it and drained it then the residue should of been gone. They did give me a discount since I told them I didn't use it. It sucked they was the reason for getting a hot tub suit in the first place.
The sheets on my bed had a blood stain on them. I told the from desk in the morning when I saw them and she didn't even say anything. She just wrote down the room number on a piece of paper and set it on the desk. The carpeting was filthy and I dont think a vacuum has ever been under the bed. The hot tub at the pool was out of order. The pool looked nasty.
Good location for a hotel with a good price point for our trip. Rooms are clean and comfortable and surprisingly have a lot of space. Has a pretty decent pool and very friendly staff. Hotel is very family friendly, so if you are not a fan of kids at hotels, this might not be the best place for you.
Motel is in good location, convenient to the highway and the rooms are easy to use. Sufficient parking such that you generally don't have to worry about being so crowded in the lot that you will pick up overnight dings on your car doors.
This is such a convenient place to stay if you are going to the Land's End Tent Sale just down the street. The unique indoor/outdoor pool is super fun for all ages. It's not a 5 star hotel but it's a wonderful place to stay while in the area.
We have stayed at this hotel several times as it is dog friendly and very comfortable friendly staff. We checked in Saturday the lady at the front desk recognize me straight away very helpful. The parking lot was like a ice rink! Very dangerous several people were complaining my husband nearly went down my dogs were having trouble keeping there footing. I did call the front desk she said she would talk to her manager the parking lot was still very icy the next morning. There was a pot of salt by the back door which my husband did throw down and the lady who does the breakfast had also thrown salt out the front. I did tell the young lady at the front desk she said she would tell her manager. The fridge in our room was making a terrible noise we had to turn it of! Children were running and screaming outside our room late into the evening 10.30 to 11.00 which made trying to fall asleep impossible. We will be back hopefully to a less noisy stay
I rated this place as average due to the fact that upon entering it was literally bare! the front desk lady told me they were remodeling. The room itself was nice and victorian themed..in our hall way we had to maneuver getting around "remodeling" stuff sitting all over,,which my husband was complaining about haha
We come to Dodgeville once or twice a year for family gatherings. We are always met at the Best Western Dodgeville Inn and Suites with a warm smile and a clean and homey room. This visit was no exception. From the fast friendly check-in to the personal interest in my visit. The clerk could not express enough that any questions, problems or needs would be satisfied quickly. The morning breakfast room, while not much different in offerings than most Best Westerns, was again warm and friendly with the associate keeping the offerings stocked as well as friendly conversation without being intrusive.I look forward to my visits here.
Perfect place to stay if you're visiting the southwest Wisconsin region. Very clean, quiet and impressive decor, bedding and amenities. Service was outstanding and front desk made sure I had everything I needed. Loved the breakfast- fresh variety of fruit was much appreciated. I will be back for sure.
This hotel was very nice, comfortable, and clean. We had such a great time there just hanging out in the room. There was a large Jacuzzi in our room. It was very romantic, they had it so beautifully decorated for Christmas. There was a wonderful breakfast and the staff was very sweet and helpful. Some of the tips I would give you is that, it is a rural area. So if that's not what your looking for then this is not the place to go. However we were and our only issues which really has little if anything to do with the actual hotel and more to do with the area were;. We could not get cell phone service and in this town/ area it seems like everything was closed by 9 pm. Well besides like gas stations, and the Walmart, etc. So if you plan to go out to eat, go to dinner early. It is also very laid back and casual around the area. But we loved it!
Had a relaxing stay at the BW Dodgeville Inn and Suites. Fast check in and easy check out. Kids enjoyed the heated pool. Huge continental breakfast. Enjoyed the free hot drinks after a long day of meetings. Beds were comfortable. Close to area restaurants.
We had to stay here when we were "between houses" and weren't disappointed. The rooms were recently renovated and very comfortable. The pool was nice and warm, although the divider between inside and outside could use some attention. Staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend this place.
After an afternoon tour of House on the Rock, Best Western provided plenty of comfort & an awesome suggesTion on where to eat; Bob's BBQ!! And after a good breakfast what's better than an indoor/outdoor pool!!! Very Pleased with this accommodation. Thank You
We came to this area for the Fall Art Tour. Looking for a room to stay one night and found everything else booked up solid in a 30 mile radius. When we arrived there were two hotel staff people standing outside next to the front door smoking cigarettes. It stunk and I would think they could smoke somewhere else. The desk clerk seemed bored and sounded like a broken record as if reading a script. No personality. Complimentary breakfast here is also boring. I had the biscuits and gravy offering, which was tasteless and the biscuits were dry and stale. Typical of Best Western Hotels, offering the minimum basics but charging the price of a higher class hotel. I would expect the rate in this small town to be around $60-70 for this class of hotel.
Stayed for 1 night. Overall, good value for money. Conveniently located near 24 hour Walmart. Has good breakfast. Bed/ mattress is not so firm. Room is big in size and has normal necessities (coffee maker, ironing board and iron).
We found this hotel by chance in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The hotel isn't anything special from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised once we entered the building. The hotel was clean, up to date and had gluten free foods for breakfast.
Nightstand drawer had several peanut shells and someones bottle of prescription medicine in it. Was given another room....looked like a vacuum cleaner was down middle of room. Dirt was around the outside of the room. No blow dryer in room...we had more available to us in a $60.00 room. This we were charged $135.00!!! I would never expect this from a Best Western motel!!! We voiced our concerns and NO compensation was given to us whatsoever!! All the gal said was, "I will tell the housekeepers they need to clean better." We will NEVER stay at a Best Western again. Very unclean and not welcoming at all! Pat from Iowa
The exterior isn't much to look at but don't let that fool you. The room (Lighthouse) suite was very good. 2 rooms, 2 flat screen TVs, large fridge, microwave, decent sized luggage area. Not what I was expecting from a BW. There was a lot of updating in progress, so there was furniture in the hallways but not in the way). Our room had been freshly painted a week ago and a lot of the carpeting &furniture/decor in the hotel was new. Free hot breakfast (coffee/tea/hot chocolate, pancake machine, fruit, sausages, hash browns, toast, biscuits, eggs, bagels, jams/jelly etc. There was a coffee machine all day service with hot water and juice dispensers along with mini coffee machines & service in rooms. There were 2 pools - indoor & outdoor and both were clean. Extra pillows & towels & toiletry items were given promptly without issues and staff was very friendly. Only one thing for concern: I had to call and ask for the room to be cleaned - they didn't clean, remove trash or exchange towels etc the whole day we were gone (9am-4pm). Staff claimed that "our room may have been overlooked on the cleaning schedule." They did come promptly after we called and made things right. Other thing is that I didn't see an elevator (we were on the 2nd floor) & the ice machine broke the second day we were there so we went to Walmart for ice. All in all this location was very close to a Walgreens, Walmart, Pizza Hut, Culver's & more, all of our attractions and sit down restaurants. Definitely a good clean place to stay for an extended vacation.
Mihir was super. He made you feel very welcomed. The rooms were very nice, clean and welcoming. He gave us a bottle of water and a apple!! They had free beverages all day, lemonade, water, tea, and coffee. The pool was nice. They had a indoor and outdoor pool. We said in the cabin room which was rustic and had a whirlpool in it. Really enjoyed the stay and how we were treated. We had stopped at the Super 8 first and they were very rude. Made us feel stupid that we hadn't made reservations. Mihir went above and beyond to welcome us!!! My recommendation is stay at the Best Western!!!!
Good location and a very friendly nice person to make up the breakfast. Fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs cereal and scrambled eggs with sausage and of course the pancake machine all very nice. Room was another story. Room 202 up stairs and again no elevator. Difficult if you have leg issues or back issues. No offer to carry bags up stairs or an offer to change rooms to downstairs. Dust behind beds on carpet on TV stand. My wife tried to clean the dust off the TV stand and all the drawers and furniture. Drawers worked well. TV worked well and so did WiFi. One morning after the maids had cleaned, our beds were not made well... We stayed 4 nights, and I asked that the bathroom AC outlet be repaired on the first and second day. I could have done it but maintenance should have made the repair the first night. The girls have all sorts of hair tools to power and they had to use the outlets on the lights. I replaced three lightbulbs with LED bulbs to get more light. Room was dim and two bulbs were burned out. Went to WalMart to buy. Pool was nice as was hot tub. Staff friendly except for followup on electrical issue. I felt room was overpriced at at $159.99 plus room tax, city tax, and where did the service fee come from... crazy. Bill shows BW discount of $16 which helped but just too much with the issues we had. If room had been clean, and everything in working order, it would have been a much nicer experience.
This Best Western is terrific. They welcome well-behaved pets (for only $15.00). They have a great indoor/outdoor pool (swim right outside) and hot tub. The rooms are very large and ours had a huge, deep whirlpool tub. It had an extremely powerful faucet that filled the tub in less than 10 minutes. There was a decent, basic breakfast in the morning, with coffee, lime-water and lemonade in the lobby.Conveniently located to most attractions in Central Wisconsin (House on the Rock, Taliesen, American Players Theater, Mineral Springs, Mt. Horeb are all 10-15 minutes away).Overall a very good place to spend a night or two.
Stayed recently with 5 other people in one room. The rooms were surprisingly updated, much more so than their pictures on the website showed. The hotel staff was friendly, breakfast was decent with some good variety. The pool is nice and it has a unique feature in that you can swim from inside to outside while remaining in it. The lobby offered free lemonade coffee/hot chocolate at all times. The only negative things I would say are: *The hotel is loud. There seems to be little to no sound proofing between the floors. We were on the first floor and the noise level was so bad after the first night that we purchased a noise machine and ear plugs before the second night. *The hotel is stingy about towels. This seems like an odd thing to have to say, but they were. We were booked into the hotel with 6 guests and they had 2 towels in the room. When we first asked for more, they had ZERO available (about 3 hours after check-in) as they were all in the wash. *Similar to the above, you have to ask for towels before you use the pool and the towels they give you are TINY. Think hand towel sized. Ridiculous for drying off after swimming.
Very impressed with our room. Clean, comfortable, excellent air conditioning. All staff members were friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was spacious and items served were very good. Our 13 year old son and his friend ate so much they didn't need lunch!
Nice looking hotel with friendly check in. Good breakfast, just not exceptional. We were staying there as a gateway to House on the Rock and Taliesin. Pet friendly. My only problem I had was with the cleanliness of our room and even when I pointed it out and they sent someone to clean it, it was still not clean. Cleaning staff needs better training. Also, broken glass below the Jacuzzi.
We stayed here for one night on our way back home, and had a great time! The room was very spacious, and the pool is beautiful. All three employees we talked to were helpful and friendly. We stayed because we wanted to see House on the Rock the next morning, and it was very close. Would definitely stay again!
Very nice hotel, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Indoor/Outdoor heated pool, year round. Smaller outside pool, but sufficient for cooling off and hanging out. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a King Whirlpool Room.
Beautiful Inn...Mike the Manager was very helpful and polite. He helped with directions in and around Dodgeville. Room was very clean. Breakfast was very good , lot to pick from. Caro; who was in charge greeting everyone, made sure everything was full and fresh. Very warm and helpful person. We where only going to stay there one night, but liked the place so much...stayed two. Would stay there again
The staff at the Dodgeville Best Western were very friendly and helpful in making our Christmas gathering (for our large extended family) a great one. The rooms were clean and spacious. Thank you to all staff for accommodating us!
This was a very nice place to stay, The beverage bar in lobby was very nice with several choices, I particularly enjoyed the low sodium chicken broth, Not only was this a nice warm healthy beverage on a cold night, it showed you care about healthy choices for your guests! The morning breakfast was very nice, complete with a pancake machine, first time I had seen one of those. There were also turkey sausages. Keep working on those healthier choices!
We had to make a last minute stay in Dodgeville. No reservation. They didn't look to busy, so we stopped. Checked in quickly and off to our room. Room was very nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom (particularly the tub/shower) looked to need a little TLC, but otherwise clean. The young gal at the counter at check-in was awesome. Super friendly. The whole staff was. Breakfast in the morning was good. Plenty of options. Nice sitting area. Overall, great place to stay.
Noise noise and more noise until after 2 AM called the desk and they advised the people making the noise, however I believe they are friends or kin of management, so pay full price grin and bear it. If staying at this property be sure to distance yourself far from the lobby area.
Carol in the Breakfast room is a special lady. She is personable yet professional and always has a smile on her face. We have stayed at this location on many occasions and she always remembers us. Mike at the front desk is very pleasant and helpful.
The hotel was clean. The staff friendly. The hotel was decorated for Christmas. Everyone made sure our stay was great. I will go again. The breakfast was good and they made surevwecwere taken care of. The pool was clean and not cold.
Great place to stay! I love Best Westerns. Rooms are comfortable and clean smelling...could use a repainting. Coffee in breakfast room could be hotter....I love good coffee. Other breakfast items were nicely displayed and good.
When I made the reservations, they didn't have on their website that the hotel didn't have an elevator. When we got there at 2pm, they put us on the second floor. When I found out that we had to use the stairs, I asked if there was an opening on the first floor because the stairs are very hard for me. They said that they didn't have an opening on the first floor. My husband then said that we will go to another hotel and the girl at the desk said that they would charge us for the room anyway. There was not compassion for their elderly patrons.
Nice location. Pool area dirty. Worms in pool. Leaves in pool area. Pile of dirty broken pool noodles in corner. Whirlpool has been broken for months. Needs some TLC . Starting to look neglected. Have been comming here for years. Condition has gone down hill in last two.
Spent one night in a King room while visiting sites in the area. Excellent location for Taliesin, Cave of the Mounds, House on the Rocks. Attentive friendly staff and our large room was very comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. Free wifi worked well (not often the case in hotels) and breakfast had several hot items to choose from. Would definitely stay again when in the area.
This hotel was very nice. Everything seemed clean from lobby, to room, to breakfast room, etc. Pool was nice (though we didn't use it, wanted to, but just didn't get around to it). Employees were helpful and friendly. Restaurants and stores are conveniently located.
We had the log cabin whirlpool suite. It was an amazing room, well decorated and very clean. When we entered the hotel to check in, Michael asked me my last name, and without even looking at anything, knew my first name! Very outgoing and friendly! We were not even in our room 10 minutes and he called to make sure it met our expectations and if they could do anything else for us. Bed was very comfortable and whirlpool was amazing. Breakfast was delicious, was amazed at the pancake machine! The lady that assisted the breakfast was also very helpful and and went out of her way to get us brochures on the places we had come to see. I am by profession a manager at a campground and I was very impressed with this hotel and their customer service, I would HIGHLY recommend staying here!
We were extremely pleased with the helpfulness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel lobby and our room. The room decor was current and comfortable to spend time in. When in the area, we would stay at this hotel.
To be fair we were very happy to have a hotel that accepts a pet. That being said I think the 'pet room' is where all the dirty old furniture go to die (room 105) OLD worn furniture, nail holes in the wall (no pictures) there was actually so much furniture in the room you could barely move around w/ luggage. The location of the hotel is excellent - the staff is very friendly & helpful, we have actually stayed here before without a pet and the room condition was better. I just feel if you are going to charge a higher room rate, you should get a decent clean room - pet or no pet.
Stayed here two nights and had a quite, restful stay, afte visiting the local sites. The helpful staff really makes the stay pleasant. I asked for additional items and they went ou of their way to accommodate me. The breakfast setup and new ways of making pancakes and toast are really interesting and a first for us. Their is an employee in the breakfast room assisting with the meal. Very nice.
When we checked in we were given a room with a window shade. The desk clerk, Tammy attempted to help us with our problem. There were no other rooms available, so she contacted her manager. His solutions were to have Tammy personally clean another room or bring in a maintenance person to fix the blinds. Both of these “solutions” would have caused major delays in our check in after a long day driving. My wife talked to the manager on the phone and explained that his solutions were unacceptable. He was rude, dismissive, and totally unprofessional. At my wife's continued and firm instance, he begrudgingly agreed to upgrade our room to the last remaining suite. Note, we are Platinum members of Best Western. We will never stay at this facility again, and never recommend this hotel to ANYONE. This is the worst manager we have ever encountered. We recommended, in our Best Western review that this manager be replaced, but I won't hold my breath.
I went on a fishing trip to the Driftless area. This is the largest chain hotel between Madison and the Driftless area. It's still 40 min out or so from most of the trout fishing areas. It's clean. Has a small indoor and outdoor pool. Very small work out room. Complimentary breakfast is nice. They have a pancake machine (first one I have seen). Not much else in Dodgeville. Overall good value. Staff was friendly. 24/7 complementary coffee and tea. The coffee machine did not work quite right but ok if you like weak coffee.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Dodgeville. We were there to visit the House On The Rock. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was typical hotel fare but good. The bed was comfortable and clean. The hotel could use a bit of updating but it was clean and comfy so no complaints. We stayed in a room that allowed us to park our car right outside our room yet there was another door into the lobby. This was very convenient when loading and unloading our luggage.
Would definitely stay there again. Staff needs to be more informative about hotel programs. Hotel had great location to many attractions in the area. Very scenic part of Wisconsin. Always enjoy driving in this area.
This BW appeared to be fairly new. The entire hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a ground floor where we had a door to the inside hall as well as a door to the parking lot where our car was only about 10 feet away. This made it very easy to unload and reload our belongings for our stay. The breakfast was good but not exceptional. Maybe the highlight of the stay was Mike, the person who checked us in. He was so upbeat and informative. He really made us feel welcome.
Great place to relax, The best rooms, services, staff. Close to all that is available in the area. Very friendly and helpful staff. I am familiar with the area since the 1970's so it's like a second home. I can always expect the very best stay when I am here.
Made reservations for 2 standard queen rooms for my 2 brothers and myself through Hotel.com a week in advance due to decent rates, indoor pool, whirlpool, mostly adults and close to town. Arrived and spent 40 minutes trying to prove to hotel clerk that I booked 2 rooms, had to show her my reservation on my phone. Then talked to the manager via phone and spent another 10 minutes with him demanding that I was only going to get one room. Finally he demanded that leave my itinerary with him because he did not believe me. I pointed out that the clerk saw the evidence! I ended up having the clerk take a photo of my phone screen with the reservation and additionally forwarded the email to the hotel's gmail account. The king bed suite that the clerk gave me to make up for the reservation snafu had mold along the top of the tub seam, water damage on drywall near the tub which was due to the showerhead not being tight. Water was going all over the bathroom until my brother tightened it up with his hands and cleaning up the mess. The standard queen size room was fine except either the previous guest or housecleaning left both Windows open and closed the blinds so the fan/air kept going on and off all night. The whirlpool was empty and closed off and indoor pool was cold. The bed was hard and stiff. Very disappointing...used to stay at the House on the Rock inn or resort and will definitely pay more for service and comforts.
Stayed here the past four years and everything was perfect, except this year! Stayed in room 103. The security chain on door was broken, mold in tub area, and could not run the air conditioner because it smelled so moldy! The breakfast was good and the staff was nice; just felt the place needed more upkeep. (Notice Joyce C complained about a broken chain in this same room THREE WEEKS ago!!!)
We drove in and enjoyed both the Cave of the Mounds and House on the Rock during our stay. The hotel itself is a little dated, but is well maintained overall. The room was surprisingly large with two queen beds a couch and a table we played cards at as a family. The pool area isn't perfect, but it is serviceable and the indoor to outdoor feature is really cool. Overall a good stay!
Hotel was clean, but we had some problems. The security chain on the room door fell apart when we attempted to use it. The whirlpool in the pool area was not working and was not going to be repaired anytime soon. The bed and pillows in room 103 we lumpy and uncomfortable. The best feature was the pool, water was like bath water. The breakfast the hotel offered was good. Food was hot, plentiful and the eating area was clean.
The Best Western Dodgeville Inn was a great choice as it is approximately a ten minute drive to House on the Rock, Spring Green, Taliesin and the American Players Theatre. It is situated in a rural location with fast food nearby. Themed cabin-like rooms like the Frontier and Huntsman are offered with their own whirlpools. Our spotless room was spacious with double beds and a pull-out sofa, two lounge chairs, a round table and large flat screen TV. Carpets in the hall and in rooms were quite colorful and very clean. My only suggestions would be to add some lighting in the sofa area, replace lumpy pillows and add some type of safety bar near the tub/shower area to make it easier to get in and out. Beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was large and clean. Breakfast is served in log cabin-like rooms by the most attentive people you will ever encounter. I loved the pancake machine. There was an ample selection of food: eggs, sausage, 4 cold cereals, hot cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, juice, bead, muffins AND the best coffee I have tasted in a long time (Farmers Brothers). Everything I ate was tasty. The indoor/outdoor pool looked quite inviting. Check out this place. The staff is terrific, and the price is reasonable. I would definitely return.
We meet here as a group to go to the local outdoor theater. This was a great location to hang out before and after the play. Outdoor area was good and the indoor had a comfortable place to just visit.
We stayed here on a recent visit to The House on the Rock. The room was comfortable and very clean. We had our 11 year old grandson with us so we used the pool. He thought it was cool that the pool was outside and inside. He swam back and forth through the small connection. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room.
An older BW with some updates. pool was open, hot tub drained and roped off. (did not use the pool but wanted to soak in a hot tub after driving all day) Would have been nice to be informed the hot tub was broken. New carpet in hallways. 2 story building , No elevator Room was nice size. queen beds are on the smaller size, more like RV Queen size. Room 214 had 2 queen beds, sofa sleeper, two chairs and a small table. Microwave, small fridge, hair dryer, coffee machine. I could hear the people in the next room. electronic key for room and entrance took a few attempts to work, always a struggle. The room and hall decor needed detail dusting.. I mean the dust was thick. (see photos) I did not sit on the sofa as there was a rather large stain that could have been dried juice or dried blood or ??? (see photos) Let me state that up until the past 3 years I was a camper all my life. I camped in a tent, onto a pop-up camper onto a full size RV. By all means I am not "high maintence" or expect perfection. Thursday : First night checked in at dinner time, room 214. dropped our bags in the room and went out to eat and did some exploring. check the airplane parked at a different motelon their front lawn, open to the public and Free to see inside and out. around 10:15 I placed a cup of water in the microwave, would not turn on. dial just spun. picked up the phone to call front desk, no dial tone. At this point the AC turned off, room was a bit warm so I attempted to turn the ac temp to a cooler setting, Nothing.. grrrrr I got dressed (I was in my PJs) and went to the front desk. Told the friendly desk clerk of the problems and she said she would call maintance. Mike the maintance man arrived, fixed the phone, AC turned back on while that was being done but told me they plan on replacing the AC units but if it happened again to just unplug the unit and then re-plug it and it should work,,, on to the microwave.. dial broken, he would go and get another microwave..I asked if he had one on the premises ? He said yes and it would only take a few minutes.. It is 10:30 at night, I want to go to bed but I also want the microwave working for the morning. 15 minutes later I talk to the front desk and was informed Mike would be back in less than 5 minutes. 12 minutes later and mike is at my room with a new microwave that he had just purchased from a Walmart. No wonder it took more than a few minutes. It did take him about 5 minutes to unscrew the old microwave from the top of the fridge, he then attempted to fit the new microwave in the bracket but told us he needed to adjust it and would do it tomorrow as it will take some time. In the meantime the microwave would not be secure and would slide off the fridge if not careful. During the night the AC was unplugged/ replugged twice. Friday : The next morning we left about 7:30 AM for sightseeing in the dells (1hr, 30 minute drive one way) We arrived back to our room about 5 PM. The microwave still not secured ! At this point I don't care, time to shower and make it to our dinner reservations in Spring Green (20-25 minute drive) Saturday : We checked out the next morning, clerk asked how our stay was ? Briefed her on the first night problems and informed her the current microwave was not secure. I thought perhaps she would offer a discount at this point but she didn't so I asked for one. She informed me she didn't have the authority but would talk to the owner Mike when he came in and would call me. I asked if Mike the owner and Mike the maintence man are the same person, sure enough they are.. You would think Mike the maintence/owner would have automatically given some discount or something since he was fully aware of all the problems are first night.. Now wait, this gets better... The clerk did phone me Saturday afternoon but I was driving in heavy traffic and did not pick up the call. She did leave a message for me to call back. It was late by the time I could call back so I called back Sunday morning. The clerk who answered had no idea of anything I was referring to and Mike(owner) and Shiana (check out clerk) were both off for the day. Asked her to have them call me. Monday afternoon and still no call back, so I call the BW. Same girl from Sunday answered the phone and again was told both Mike and Shiana were off for the day but she did talk to them and I did get a discount.. hymm okay I will check my credit card. Here is where it gets really good.. my credit card was Never Credited but Charged agin at a discount rate.. so I paid for 2 nights, no discount then got charged Again at a slightly lower rate (16.00 less) WHAT!!! Yep, I got charged twice. At this point I am Done trying to deal directly with the motel and call BW Customer service line. They place me on hold while they call the hotel directly. She gets back to me and informs me that she will have to call me back due to the fact she must wait for a call back from the owner because the clerk could not help.... so annoyed.
We had a short stop at this hotel. Friendly staff and helpful with ideas what to see in the neighbourhood. We had a great dinner next door at an all American restaurant. Dont miss to visit the house on the rock a few miles away. Interesting to see what Americans can do.
Attentiveness and politeness of staff is far above many high end hotels I've stayed in. Simple but nice rooms. Great pool that the kids loved. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff opened a conference room when the breakfast room was full on our arrival. Very impressed with staff!
They get a high rating for location, cleanliness and the free breakfast. This is my choice for that entire South / South West Wisconsin zone for my business. Nice area, close to good fast food and other attractions.
Totally disappointed. Stayed here about 8 years ago and it was great! Stayed recently (June 2017) and quality has declined to the point that I will never stay here again. No attention to simple details. Room was not clean highlighted by an old sock sticking out from under bed. Smoking allowed right outside exit door to hall. Smoke drafted right back inside rooms near the door. Mold in bathroom? Water leak on ceiling? Dead bugs in light fixtures? Pool area hazardous. Pool chemicals left out in the open next to pool? Old discarded pool wood decking w nail in it upright along pool deck? 2 ft weeds along pool fencing? Whirlpool inoperable? I couldn't believe it either! So I took photos. See for yourself below.
I grew up near Dodgeville so I never needed to stay at a hotel until this visit-we always stayed with family. We loved it!! My kids loved the pool, the room was very spacious and very clean! Breakfast was the best part! Quality Bakery bismarck donuts! I haven't had those since high school!!! They are the best!!! Then I ran into someone I know from my hometown!! Great visit!! We had a great time!!
The hotel was very clean and our stay was good. My only comment would be the air conditioner was too noisy for me. I do not like white noise while I'll sleep. Others thought it was great! That would be left to a personal preference.
The hotel was clean. The staff was friendly. The bed was very hard. Some people prefer firm mattresses. I am not one of them. The breakfast surprised me. We ate around the middle of the breakfast times. They were out of quite a few things. Overall would recommend the hotel
My wife and I have stayed here in the past. They have a very interesting indoor-outdoor pool. The rooms were clean, but a prior person had smoked in the non-smoking room. while it didn't ruin the visit, the smell took a while to dissipate. We would still stay here again.
A very nice hotel in Dodgeville, WI, I was fishing at Blackhawk Lake and had a club Bass tournament. The staff were very accommodating and made a special effort to get me power to charge the boat overnight. I'd definitely go back again.
Looked like it did in the pictures, loved it. Clean, quiet, very relaxing room. Nice breakfast. The whirlpool was out of order which was very disappointing, the pool was open and quite inviting. We had a major problem getting into the room, the cards didn't take in the door lock, possible door lock mechanism problem not the cards themselves.
The BW was a mixed bag. It's well situated for touring the area (about an hour west of Madison and 20 minutes from Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin). The front desk and women who worked the breakfast room could not have been more accommodating. Always helpful with a smile. The inclusive breakfast had eggs, biscuits, sausages, fruit, yogurt, breads, cereal. The only downside -- was the cleaning of the room. There was none. The bed had the covering casually tossed back on and was never made. The towels were left in disarray in the bathroom with nothing replaced. One shampoo for a family of 4 was not adequate. It was strange since the rest of the staff seemed on their game.
Very clean, awesome breakfast nice selection to choose from, nice location, quiet! Will stay again. Staff was helpful. Internet was great. The pool was different you can swim inside or outside. The two connected with ease. The hot tub was clean and hot. Had a great time
I was in Dodgeville for the first 2 days of a 4 day training. (Training is split between two weeks). Check-in was quick, with information given about the hotel as well as the surrounding area. The rooms are a bit outdated, but, very clean and since we were there on Sunday/Monday nights, it was quiet. Our refrigerator was not on when we checked in and wouldn't turn on. I called and a gentleman came to the room and reset it. He indicated he would bring another refrigerator to our room if this didn't fix it. He called 1/2 hour later to check if the refrigerator was cooling and it was. The breakfast each morning was kept well-stocked and the woman who was taking care of it was so friendly and welcoming. She kept the tables and room clean and thanked us for staying with them. She also wished us a good day as we left. On the morning we were checking out, there was a chocolate bar with my name on it (they printed it on a wrapper and put it over the candy wrapper). I'm assuming it was because they needed to fix the fridge. Totally not necessary to supply the candy, but we liked it! I would prefer to stay somewhere that might need a little updating, but the staff is friendly and responsive to needs rather than a 5-star with crabby employees. Thanks for the great stay!
Excellent staff and service!! Really enjoyed breakfast!!! My only problem was that the pool was closed for cleaning, but after viditing the House On The Rock we were too tired to swim anyways!! I will recommend this hotel to all of my friends!
The Log Cabin suite was the perfect room for our anniversary getaway, we loved everything about it. It was cozy and comfortable, the whirlpool was a nice addition. The continental breakfast was above and beyond anything we've ever experienced at any hotel! We had our fill for the morning in the breakfast room and enjoyed all the friendly staff while we were there. Definitely would make a return stay to this hotel!
Mini trip for me and hubby to visit House on the Rock and Cave on the Mounds. Spent the night in Dodgeville, conveniently located near these attractions. Hotel was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable and complimentary, nice perk.
Wanted nice place to stay and this was by far the nicest around . Quiet and clean, easy in and out access. Very friendly staff and very accomodating. It is not the only time we have been there and every time is pleasant.
Quiet House has an alternate decor one does not usually associate with a chain hotel, a refreshing change. Super friendly staff! Room was clean, big & comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the 'on-demand' pancake maker, an acceptable alternative to the waffle grill. Will stay here again next time I'm up this way.
I had a hard time finding a hotel that I could bring my small dog to while visiting Dodgeville. I was very happy to find this place, the pet fee was very reasonable. The hotel is lovely, the room was spacious and very clean. The pool was great, nice fireplace in the lobby. Location is perfect, lots of things around. Comfortable beds and pillows. Quiet rooms.
We stayed here as it was a national change nearby a local exhibit our family really wanted to visit. The room was comfortable enough, but the furniture was old and badly outdated. The staff upon check in was efficient but not friendly. The TV was ancient. Later that evening we were enjoying the indoor outdoor pool and the desk staff came in to tell us that the pool was closing due to lightening. She did not go outside and tell the people actually swimming in the outdoor portion that it was closing. When I realized she wasn't going to do it, I went out and told them. I didn't stick around to see if they vacated the pool. In the morning there was an alarm going off in another room for an extended period of time. The morning staff was at least friendlier. The best part about it was the breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff there and good choices. The worst part about this stay was the phone call that we got about 2 hours into our road trip back home. The cleaning staff found a pair of eye glasses in/under the bed in the room and wanted to know if we left them behind. After a moment of panic and realizing NO I was actually wearing my eye glasses I said no, they aren't ours. Which means. That they were there from BEFORE we checked in. Leading me to wonder exactly how well our room had been cleaned before we checked in and spent the night. Gross.
Clearn comfortable motel with a fun, inviting indoor/outdoor pool, fireplace in the lobby, and a free hot breakfast. However, the best part is the staff. They are very welcoming, helpful, and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. Cheers to outstanding customer service!!!
For a visit to Southwestern Wisconsin this is a nice option. The pool goes from inside to outside which is fun. Rooms are adequate, nothing fancy but do the job. Breakfast room has a nice ambiance and OK selections, typical hotel buffet. Staff was very pleasant.
This hotel was very clean, spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised with warm and welcoming staff at check-in and continuing with cleaning service staff and breakfast staff. Carol in the breakfast area was extremely helpful and friendly, making food was well stocked and fresh at all times. We will definitely stay here again!
There are not many hotel choices to stay in Dodgeville, but this was definitely a pleasant surprise. We came to visit the House on the Rock and the Frank Lloyd Wright home/studio which both are very easily accessible from this hotel. There are several options to choose from within walking distance for lunch and dinner. Breakfast served in this hotel was filling and had quite a few options. The lady who works the breakfast area was really nice. I ended up accidentally leaving behind a device that helped exercise my shoulder as I was still recovering from shoulder surgery. When I realized it, I called them and Annie, from the front desk, both located it and mailed it back to me. If you are in this area, I highly recommend this hotel as it is quite, well priced and has a friendly staff.
Stayed one night October 15, 2016. This seemed like an older Hotel but it was clean and comfortable. Had a Double Queen room which was fairly large. The bed was soft but comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good with a pancake machine, pastries, eggs, sausage, etc. All of the staff members we encountered were friendly. Would stay here again if in the area.
Overall great stay! Really enjoyed my team in my whirlpool suite. The employees were amazing because it was my girlfriends birthday and they brought us a little basket with cards and treats. One major thing though would be the workout area. They have no weights and only a couple bikes. Don't let this stop you from having a great time there though. 8/10
We have stayed at Best Westerns before and at Quiet House and Suites too. We opted to stay at a Best Western again due the good luck we have had in the past. We were not disappointed. The hotel was very nice. The women at the front desk was very polite. We choose a standard suite which was very nice. The pool and hot tub was wonderful. There really was nothing to complain about. Our only wish was that it would be closer to town so we could explore better as we were on motorcycles. However, if you were looking for a hotel near the highway, this is the perfect location.
Good location, clean and comfortable with a decent breakfast. Wi-Fi was a bit of a challenge for us, but once I opened yahoo.com it connected - it didn't seem to like Google. Even still, our devices sometimes wouldn't connect or would drop the signal. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet, we had neighbors but never heard them through the walls. Close to the highway as well but we didn't hear traffic once, even with the windows open. Good water pressure in the shower. There's a full length mirror behind the door, a nice touch. The indoor-outdoor pool is fun; we all loved swimming outside with the moon in October. Staff was friendly from start to finish.
would stay here again probably our next sisters weekend in the spring. loved having a sitting area where we could sit and talk or play cards or use the laptops we brought. Everyone was polite and everything clean. Great breakfast.
The hotel was clean and up-to-date. Staff was average/friendly. Check-in was average. The clerk was on the phone taking a reservation and probably could have ended the call a little sooner rather than making us wait. The hotel was fully occupied but there were no problems with noise and we slept well. Breakfast was good with an average/good selection but it was crowded. That can't be helped because of the time of year and full occupancy. Staff in the breakfast room kept things clean and stocked. She was friendly but not a pest. The bed was too high (mattress and box spring were huge). Anyone shorter than us would have needed a step stool to get in and out. The bed was comfortable though with a variety of pillows. We had a whirlpool in the room (in addition to the tub/shower in the bathroom) which I could have lived without. It was surrounded by mirrors and looked like a 1970s bad movie (no thank you). We didn't use it. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable... what you would expect from a Best Western. I would stay there again if we were in the area.
My expectations were low, especially when I pulled up the the building. However, the suite I was in was delightful and the bed was very comfortable. There were a lot of items in the room which can make deep cleaning a little tough. The standing lamp's base needed dusting - otherwise all was great.
Stay there one night the front desk was very accommodating offered to carry her luggage upstairs and ask if we needed anything else to just call the place was very clean. Basic free breakfast in the morning was fine and again at check out the front desk went above and beyond .thank you
Stayed one night while on business. Overall was a nice hotel. The desk staff was very helpful. Room was nice, great bed & pretty good shower. Typical breakfast offerings. A little pricy but not a lot of choices in the area. Would stay here again if I was in the area looking for a room.
I was lucky to get a ground floor room with access from a hall or outside. Very convenient for schlepping luggage in and out. There are other rooms that have interior hall access only and there is no elevator for the second floor. My room had a king bed, a couch and two armchairs, one with an ottoman. There were the other usual amenities--fridge, microwave, flat screen TV with HBO, hair dryer, etc. I was told the swimming pool was closed because of lightning, but I didn't plan on using it anyway. It was inside. Breakfast was the usual, plus scrambled eggs and sausage. The place was clean, but there was the slight smell of mildew or whatever especially when I turned on the A/C. Not enough to make me avoid this place in the future. It does have some age on it. Over all, a pleasant place to stay.
Stayed overnight over Labor Day weekend. Room was good sized but dated. Beds were small - 2 "Queen" beds were more like 2 double beds. There was a pull out couch and a couple of chairs so plenty of seating options. Bathroom ok but could see signs of mildew around edge of newer plastic tub surround insert. Overall clean room. Odd smell in stairway up to second floor. Don't believe there is an elevator in hotel. Pool is small but works well. Breakfast staff is friendly and tries hard - but pretty typical hotel "free" breakfast items. I would go next door to the Country Kitchen. Staff seemed good. Don't expect too much and know that its an older property but I have stayed in worse places.
Hotel was nice, but a little pricey for the location. The lady that assisted us at check-in made for a great stay. She provided a cleaning towel and cleaning solution for our motorcycle. She also opened our room for us to allow us to enter the hotel directly into our room.
Older property that the owners have kept nicely. Clean, comfortable rooms and beds. Nice to be able to unload car directly from parking lot to room door. Very good breakfast and attentive staff. Baseboards (absent of when clearly they had been there) and grout around tub tile are telltale signs of age.
Stayed two night this past weekend. Nice hotel and great staff. Has a outdoor/indoor swim out pool which is kind of rare nowadays. They have a great breakfast and the lady that runs it is so nice it felt like being at home. Wifi is a little slow but works. Hotel is a little rough around the edges here and there but very clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly. Stayed at the Best Western in Baraboo a couple of years ago and this Hotel is by far an all around a better choice if your visiting the general area. Thanks.
Bathroom towels were the very minimum amount, no bathmat, no towels were in pool area. We had to ask for those, & that was after we had gotten in water & realized there were none. Indoor/outdoor pool, flies/bugs from outside floated inside, no one skimmed off dead critters. Breakfast bar was minimal also.
I would highly recommend this hotel. We were here for Dairyland Dare event. We booked five rooms at this hotel. And all of my team members loved everything about this hotel. The customer service is what sets it apart. There is a difference between staff who give good customer service "because they have been trained and are supposed to do that" and staff who are sincerely nice people who actually care about their hotel's customers. The front desk staff are sincerely nice people who care about customers. The staff - including manager- Mike and front desk Meghan and Shiana were super nice. The overnight front desk lady was also incredibly helpful - I wish I knew her name. Rooms here are clean, and the breakfast is also quite delicious and varied. The breakfast room was very clean and neat ( I have attached some pictures ). The breakfast attendant was super friendly. Just because the entire hotel was full of bicyclist they had breakfast open at 4:00 AM. They made sure that no one was leaving a hotel without having a breakfast. We will be back next year for the same event and will stay here without any where else looking to make reservation. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
I don't usually write reviews, but Quiet House earned recognition. This is a clean, pleasant, comfortable 4 star property with a 5 star staff. I can't remember a more accommodating and friendly place. The breakfast was as good as any with fresh fruit and a selection of hot items kept replenished by efficient people making us feel at home. The front desk made arrangements for us with an odd schedule. We were attending plays at American Players Theater and were able to get our room key early because we would not be back until quite late. Will stay again when we are in the area.
I love this place! It has the most fantastic pool! The bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, the pillows were not too tall, and it is close to restaurants. I have stayed here 3 times now, and will definitely be back again. It was very clean, too.
Clean roomy hotel rooms. Furnished with a little variety in furnishings..doesn't look so institutional. Granddaughter enjoyed large pool. Breakfast menu attached. Expeditious check in. Walmart and Culver's in walking distance
I've stayed here on two separate occasions for one night each before nearby bike events. In those situations I'm looking for a good night's sleep (quiet is a priority) and a decent hotel breakfast the next morning at a fair price. The BW Quiet House in Dodgeville more than meets those basic criteria. The last time I stayed there in June 2016 my racing compadres and I were greeted by a very friendly woman behind the counter who checked us in, confirmed that we were riding in the local event the next day, and informed us that the hotel was setting up their breakfast an hour or so early to accommodate the riders staying with them. Our room was spacious and more than adequate, including a good sized bathroom, good water pressure in the shower, comfortable beds, and a quiet night's sleep was had by all. I would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend it to others looking for nice roadside accommodations in the Dodgeville area.
Booking a quick little getaway before the busy season starts for our business, we called and many rooms were booked. We saw this one on line & took the bait that their was only one room left... the "cabin suite" which had a queen bed & a hot tub. I'm a freak about sitting in a hot tub that isn't mine but I booked it knowing we'd never use that. We really need a king bed too but what cha going to do when it's "the last room" left. I had asked the women when I called if there was places to have a drink & supper within walking distance. She assured me there were many. So we pull up, there is a pizza hut 2 blocks away. Yes, that's it!!! We open the door to the room & this moldy, mildew smell hit us both! There was no getting away from it. The front desk did bring down some febreeze, which helped but that smell was atrocious! The sweeper hadn't been run in awhile & grass & dirt were under the comforter on the bed. My white socks I threw in the bag just in case... they weren't white for long just walking over to the bathroom and back. This room looks so cool on line because of the wood furniture & cabin accents it has. If you can make it a little farther down the road I would keep on driving past this place...
An overnight stay after a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright's house in Taliesin, After a very friendly welcome, we enjoyed a great dinner in the BBQ restaurant recommended by the hotel. We liked our evening stroll in Dodgeville downtown, with interesting buildings. Much nicer than expected! We also appreciated the pool after a day out and about and the lovely breakfast. Thanks for your hospitality.
Easy to get to, close to several fast food restaurants, has rooms that can sleep up to six all are good points of this place. Also very nice staff that helped us when the microwave in our room broke and when we had to jimmy the door to make our swipe card work. I would stay here again because it was a solid hotel
Stopped two nights in order to visit Taliesin and see a play at the American Players Theater. Room with whirlpool and log cabin motif was comfortable and enjoyable. Plenty of room, nice decor and whirlpool in room was an extra feature. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. Location was fine fpor our purposes, but therer are not many restaurant choices in Dodgeville.
Stayed for three nights and enjoyed the facility. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was everything we needed and more. This was our second visit and we will return. Lobby was recently remodeled and updated, along with some rooms.
Good, quiet room with friendly service with a smile! Very helpful staff and fresh fruit for breakfast. Convenient location to nearby House on the Rock and the Frank Lloyd Wright museum. I would highly recommend this to all who want a QUIET stay!
This hotel is very close to house on the rock and a state park. We stayed here last week with our family. And we glad that we stayed here. Our room was clean and well maintained. My kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool. It looked like they just got done with renovation at the lobby. Some work was still in process. Very friendly staff at desk. A breakfast attendant was pleasant as well. Great selection for breakfast. We will be back at this property when we are in town.
Spent one night here with my family (3 adults). Clean room. Comfortable beds. Quiet. Nice pool is both indoor and outdoor. Very good breakfast included hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage, and pancakes as well as usual continental breakfast fare.
It was a very clean and nice place to stay. It was very quite for sleeping. They pool and hot tub were very nice, the pool was a very neat, you could swim from the inside to the outside. The breakfast was very good. It had pretty much anything you could think of from pancakes, yogurt, scrambled egg's, hard boiled and cereal and rolls.
This is my 2nd stay in last 4 months. This is definitely NOT a luxury hotel, but what I like is the friendly staffs and the comfort of this hotel. After sitting 16 hours long haul flight and 3.5 hours drive, I can simply park the car right in front of the hotel...walk in and being greeted by friendly staff. Room is already well-prepared! Room is clean and the breakfast room serves simple, fresh breakfast. Overall environment is quiet ... there is a complementary hot water, coffee, tea. Walmart, McDonalds, Country Kitchen are located within walking distance...or 2,3mins drive. I will definitely come back again!
The motel needs some maintenance, but it is still the best place in area to stay. You can swim between the inside and outside pools, very cool. The breakfast is good - had eggs, sausage and pancakes beside the usual continental breakfast. The breakfast area is small and can be crowded if motel is busy. Maintenance in our room -drawer handles needed to be tightened and shower curtain needed some repair. Staff was very friendly.
My husband and I were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and visiting our daughter. Mike asked us if there was special occasion for our visit. We mentioned our anniversary. That started a series of customer service surprises that made our stay one of the most memorable and enjoyable in many years. Mike upgraded our room to a suite, gave us complimentary water bottle and a candy bar with our name on it .The next morning we had chilled chocolate-covered strawberries and beverages waiting for us in our room once we returned from dinner. Wow!! We were surprised beyond all expectations. Mike left us a hand-written Thank You card for our stay. Hand-written!! The Best Western in Dodgeville is a fantastic hotel to begin with. With Mike on the staff, it moves into the realm of world-class. When in the Dodgeville, WI area, book a room at the Best Western and if Mike is at the front desk, tell him "Bravo!" He will get the idea. Thank You, Mike And to the Best Western management - do whatever it takes to keep Mike - his customer service will payoff 100 times over.
A really nice hotel. Very friendly staff. The room was clean and very comfortable. The front desk even called make sure we were happy with the room. If I am ever in the area again, I will stay at the Best Western Quiet House & Suites!
We gave this a 5-rating because of what it offers in price-value. We received a clean, well apportioned suite with hot tub and rustic decor. Everything was very clean, and the front desk service was personable and efficient. There is a definite owner-operator type of feel to the service, as the hotel staff were engaging and ready to help. We were able to bring our small dog (20 pounds) for a $25 fee which really helped us with our getaway. It's on the edge of town, but a short drive to their "Main Street".
Very clean facility, pretty well updated. Very friendly staff and easy check in. The only complaint was the height of the bed in the room, it was so high, I had to put my foot on the boxspring to lift myself up. However, the mattress was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good, yogurt, cereal, pancakes, eggs, sausage, etc. Would stay there again.
Very nice location for Dodgeville to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's home and House on the Rock. The only problem, and it was not with the hotel, was there are no sidewalks around to use. I like to walk after riding in a car all day and many times I had to use the street.
I made a reservation directly with the hotel by phone in February 2016 for my June 11, 2016 visit. I needed a 1st floor room because my elderly mother can't do stairs and there is no elevator. I was assured by Annie that I would have a 1st floor room. I guaranteed the reservation with a credit card. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. on June 11. I was given a room on the 2nd floor. I said that was unacceptable. They had nothing left on the 1st floor. The clerk apologized and did call another motel in Dodgeville, no room there. So she called a Quality Inn in Mineral Point 7 miles back the way we had just come. Luckily they had something and was $30 cheaper! I felt that since I had made my request in February and guaranteed it with a credit card that there should have been a room for us no matter what time we arrived at the facility.
Every thing was clean and so perfect. We especially noticed how happy the employees seemed and every one loved their job there. This was the best experience that we ever had when we stayed in a motel. Emily R.
The staff was very friendly. We were in town for a wedding and drove in on a Saturday morning (3 hour drive) after my husband got off of a 12 hour night shift. We requested an early check in so he could get some sleep prior to the wedding. The staff not only accommodated our request and had our room ready, but the cleaning staff also cleaned the rooms on either side of ours so the vacuum would not disturb my husband so he could sleep. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and our needs. Room was nice and spacious and clean. Would highly recommend if ever in town.
We were blown away by the overall quality of our stay here! The rooms were spacious and immaculate. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. We had a king suite with a whirlpool tub that was huge!! The value can't be beat!! We will definitely be back next summer!!
Stayed two nights in cabin room with whirlpool tub. Was a fun room clean and everything worked well. The people were exceptionally nice and helpful. Breakfast was good and lady that worked in there really wanted everyone satisfied. The pool was warm and went from inside to outside. Walgreens a crossed the street and Walmart within a mile. Small fridge in room and microwave. I would recommend and go again.

When we first got to the hotel the lady (can't remember her name) at the front desk was helping another couple with showing them some brochures of the area. She sounded very knowledgeable of the area and was very courteous and helpful. After she had helped them out she came back to the desk to check us in and was extremely courteous to us and even struck up a conversation other than the typical here's your room number and key type of thing. In the morning for breakfast the lady that was in charge of filling everything up was very pleasant and happy. She asked us how the food was, if there was anything she could get us and told us to let her know if we needed anything else. Our check out was nice and speedy too. They young lady at the front desk was quick to get us on our way, as well as courteous about it too. Overall our stay at the Best Western in Dodgeville was superb and we would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.
We had to walk past workers re tiling floor & thru` the dust. our door was not able to be opened. The 2nd morning after breakfast we had to wait while housekeeping ,maintenance etc tried to open it .All of our things were inside They got it opened & waited for a locksmith. we moved to another room. garbage behind dresser, broken sofa, cobweb over bed . unlike the first room the mattress was saggy-thee airconditionrs were old & loud. the people unfriendly-the first night the desk was vacant & the phone unanswered-she was outside on her personal cell. This was a ruined vacation for 3 of us -& the pool was still not opened when we left-didn`t pass inspection!
I've been there during a business trip for Lands End. The hotel is super close to Lands End where I had a meeting. Great check in experience as I was welcomed with candy bar with my name on it & a water bottle. My room was super clean and with every thing what I needed. Breakfast was great with many items. I was offered express checkout also. Great experience.
Everything that applied to me was great. A great place in spite of the currently ongoing renovations. Booked it because it was very convenient to House on the rock. First impression nice lobby & very friendly staff. Room very good, very clean with comfortable bed. Quiet at night. Nice and clean pool and whirlpool which is indoor & outdoor connected. Excellent breakfast and breakfast lady. Will recommend to anyone going to house on the rock in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.
Once again, my husband and I visited Hotel Best Western in Dodgeville. We have now stayed at this hotel 3 years running and it never fails to give first class service and facilities. We were greeted by Anni and Mike and shown to our room where we had a wonderful back view as requested. The facilities in the room were perfect and the breakfast served in the hotel was of a very high standard with plenty of choice. All the staff are obliging and are ready to help in any way they can. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is very near to the House on the rock and the state park. After two weeks of sunshine and relaxation we cannot fault this hotel - roll on next year!
we were at this hotel for house on the rock visit. Allisha and Shiana were very welcoming and informative. They helped us out with what to do and where to go. This hotel is conveniently located close to house on the rock and Governor dodge state park. The hotel is being updated but our room was modern and clean. The bed was great. I slept better there than I do in my own bed at home. The bathroom was roomy. The hotel was very quiet at evening and night. Great Pool area . Breakfast had a lots of choises. Great stay. We will come back.
We stayed here for two nights. Everything was great from start to end. We were welcomed with bottle of water and a candy bar. Clean and large room. The only thing that we missed here is an elevator. But front desk offered us help which was very nice. Pool was in process of cleaning for the season. Breakfast was good as well. We will be back next month for our wedding anniversary.
This is a great hotel in a small town. When we checked in they were updating the pool area and the lobby area. It did not bother us at all. Nice staff with smile on their faces all the time. Front desk girl " Allisha " was great. Breakfast lady was very nice asked us if we were satisfied with everything. Our rooms were clean and spacious. It has everything what we needed. Great hotel with nice people. We recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting area.
We had a nice spacious room including sitting area with couch and 3 chairs, in addition to 2 queen beds in the room. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast included hot items. Staff was very friendly and helpful. All for a very reasonable price! Would definitely stay here again if in the area!
Upon arrival, we were informed that the pool was not yet open for the season. When walking by, we noted that there is a hot tub and an indoor/outdoor pool. The pool is designed to be able to swim between the indoor and outdoor sections, with a "swim through" door. We opted for a 2 Queen bed, reserved online enroute. Everything was reserved correctly. Check in was smooth and simple. Staff was friendly. Room set up had a small sofa and 2 wing chairs, plus the 2 queen beds. The option of sitting is always nice & having more than 1 chair to sit in, creates a more home-like environment. Breakfast was the standard egg-like substance, sausage and pancake machine, with hit and cold cereal options & some pastries. Bonus for boiled eggs and for individually wrapped foods, preventing contamination from other patrons - & for iced water being out. Double bonus for the gal working the breakfast station, who was authentic, helpful and friendly. She alone would generate repeat business. Infused water, coffee, cocoa, cider, & a large assortment of teas were readily available at all times.
Nice motel. Maintained well. Friendly person at the desk. Room that I got must have been recently remodeled. Nice decor. Very comfortable bed. Nice sitting area in the room (I got a single queen room). Large flat-screen TV. Very strong wifi signal. Plenty of outlets to plug your electronics in. Looking forward to see what will be available for breakfast. Indoor pool was closed for cleaning. There was a 24 hour fitness center. Plenty of free drinks in the lobby. Close to restaurants. If you have any medical needs, there is a Wallgreens across the road. A plus for this hotel would have been an automatic opening door at the entrance.
I stayed at this hotel while at an Epic training. Great staff with positive attitude. Our check in was quick and different from other hotels. We were recognize for a rewards member, were given bottle of water, personalized candy bar with our name on it and bag of chips. Our room was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Since we were leaving early in the morning they had breakfast bags ready for us. We did not have chance to use pool as they were doing some work in it. They were in process of updating rooms, lobby area Etc. I am coming next year for an Epic training and would definitely stay here. I hope they would be done with renovation by that time. I would recommend this hotel to any one traveling for a business.
Was there on business or would not have chosen this facility. Smelled musty; furniture and carpets are in need of replacing. Not a lot of choices in town, so good luck if you need to stay in Dodgeville on business.
We loved this hotel. It is a small hotel with nice staff. They helped us with our luggage. Our room was spacious and clean. It was reasonably priced. Our room has everything that we needed. Location of the motel was great as well. Delicious breakfast with a lots of options. Everything was great.
Typical chain hotel in a small town. Desk person was friendly, room was average. Bathroom counter was spacious, tub did not have non-slip surface. Bed was very comfortable - something of a rarity in chains. Walls were paper thin and we could hear the tv clearly from the next room as well as the "elephant" above us who awoke at 6am on Sunday morning and must have walked back and forth 20 times. UGH. Oh - pool was empty and unusable due to "maintenance". Would have been nice to know when I booked the place. :-(
I stayed here on Easter and the people went out of their way to make us feel at home. The room was spacious, and very clean. The was very good as well. The breakfast had eggs, pastries, juice and pancakes! It was a free breakfast and very good. We started in a regular room, but some of the rooms were more elaborate. We had to ask the front desk for help finding out about things in town and they were very helpful. The lobby and entire hotel was beautiful and very clean. We will go back. This is near relatives.
We stayed Friday night though Sunday morning, my husband likes to fly fish this hotel is near the Dreftless Area of WI. The room was comfortable and clean we had a jet pool in the room. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom clean. But this is a busy hotel with families with small children who were aloud to run around at 5.30 in the morning bouncing a ball along the corridor! Which woke us up. Not the hotels fault. Breakfast was terrible not much to choose from toaster took for ever we gave up in the end. Coffee was not good either. Coffee tea ect was available in the lobby. We will go back let's hope if there are any small children there Parants will keep them quite.
Amazing quite getaway. service was great. Beautiful historical looking hotel. Very clean and spacious. It is a great place for a quite couples getaway. It was very quite. we did not see or hear any kids. Great pool area. ( they were doing some updates to their pool ). Great staff at the front desk and excellent breakfast lady " Carol ". They had an amazing pancake machine where you press the button and within a minute, you get two pancakes. While we were in the breakfast room the manager actually came in and had conversation with us about our stay. We were very impressed since it looked like he cared about us. The great hotel with the great staff.
We had a pleasant stay. Our bed was very firm and the pillows were overstuffed for our liking. Also it seemed as though one of the springs on the couch in our room was broken. Also, our remote for the living room TV was broken. Nothing that ruined our stay, but just little inconveniences.
This is a Great hotel, very clean inside and out, safe area, very kid friendly, wonderful employees, convenient location, great breakfast! We really enjoyed the inside and outside swimming pool, very fun in winter! Highly recommended!
My husband and I just wanted a brief get away and decided to go to House on the Rock. We had not stayed at best western before but the reviews and price (there was a special) pointed us in that direction. We were not disappointed. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the whirlpool, and pool. We were offered the complimentary water bottle and candy bar with our name on it. All in all -- a really good value.
I really WANT to review this hotel higher, because the staff are courteous, Mike at the desk was very knowledgeable and professional. excellent - the kind of people I would hire at my company! Clean room, very comfortable bed, friendly staff, better than average breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage, variety of pastries and breads, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal), location was good for me. it had a pool and hot tub which was great... they were doing some updates in the pool area when we were there. Everything was great at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is coming to area.
i would not recommend This hotel to anyone. The fridge in our room did not work and made the food spoil. The breakfast the next day was terrible the milk and cream cheese tasted spoiled. Our pull out couch was so bad the kids slept on the floor instead and Then the pool room was like 30 degrees because the front desk person left the windows open the whole day when it was cold outside. My kids didn't even get to swim in the pool because of how cold it was. We told the lady about our broken fridge and she rudely said it just got plugged in and will take a while to get cold. Then I came back a few hours later and it still wasn't cold and some of the stuff from our cooler had spoiled.
Because of the cost of the conference hotel, I stayed at Best Western in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable as my home bed- which made my sleep great at night. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Stayed in a theme whirlpool room. The room was very nice and homey (like a log cabin). The amenities were not good - the TV didn't work upon arrival, the toilet plugged twice, the whirlpool only holds 3 people and the jets were weak, they kept running out of breakfast items (even coffee) so we had to wait for more, and the refrigerator couldn't be adjusted and froze some of our contents.
The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Annie went above and beyond to make our stay special. We brought in BBQ for dinner and she got us plates and utensils without us even asking and she opened up the meeting room for us to use to eat dinner.
We stayed one night in Dodgeville at the Best Western Quiet House and Suites. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The good news was that the room was very clean. The room looked outdated and the carpet was ripped and torn in places in the room. (We did see new carpet in the lobby so I'm hoping it is destine to that room. The shower head was loose from the wall and was difficult to adjust. The bed was not comfortable as it sagged in the middle. The door to the bathroom didn't shut and a large gap in bottom main room door would allow us to see easily into the hallway. On the positive side the continental breakfast was very good. Dodgeville is a great place to visit and I'm hoping their hotel accommodations improve.
it is good hotel with great staff. Our room was really huge with everything in it. They had nice indoor-outdoor pool. Breakfast was delicious with a lot options. location was great. Great WiFi. We will come back.
We stay in one of their "theme" rooms. We had a large whirlpool tub that easily accommodated 2 people. Room was large, very clean and decor was appropriate to the theme. Bed was not the most comfortable but we slept fairly well. All staff were extremely friendly and smiling. Check-in person offered to help us bring in our bags. She did not know how to process my Best Western travel cards but she said the morning staff could process them. Morning staff quickly processed them and applied them to our stay. Breakfast offerings were good. There was a group of loud men who had taken over the middle of the breakfast room and moved some tables even though they were not eating. Since the room was small, this was rather unpleasant, but not the fault of the hotel just rude guests. If the hotel had been full or the breakfast room busy, this small room might not provide enough space. That being said, we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Staff were the most friendly of any hotel on our trip.
We stayed at the quite house and suites recently for a hockey tournament, we had a great visit. The hotel is very clean and updated. it looked like they are still doing some updates. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows. The room and all facilities were clean. The most important part of all is the service the staff provided after we left. Our son left a blanket in the room which had great sentimental value. We weren't sure we would get it back, but gave the staff a description and waited. The staff was able to find it and send it to our home address. We were already very happy with our stay, but after their extra effort helping us we can't thank them enough !
We stayed at this hotel in Dodgeville with a wedding group. Everything went smooth and easy. They had wedding agreement for block of rooms. And it was very simple and easy to understand. That agreement made our stay very organized. Our room was really cute and the décor of the entire hotel was pretty cool. Most of our family and friends stayed at the same hotel. Everyone seemed to enjoy everything. All the people who worked there were very nice. We would stay again.
One of the best hotel in the area. We stayed here last week and it was very nice stay. Desk Clerk Mike, was very nice and made our check in process very quick and easy. We were given a candy bar with our name on it. He has given us all the area information including restaurant and attractions. We appreciated the helpfulness and courteousness of the staff ( specially Mike ). Breakfast had many options to choose. They had varieties in there. We haven't try swimming pool but it looked clean and neat. If in the area, we would definitely stay again.
Hotel itself seemed nice, but we were put in a room that should have been marked out of use. Also, there had not been a note added that we would bring dogs, so we were put next to other guests, in almost empty hotel.
We stayed here after visiting House on the Rock. Comfortable rooms and free breakfast. The pool was so neat, it has an opening so you can swim outside in the hot tub ALL year long! The kids loved that. Pool area has cute sitting areas! Close to Walmart and Country Kitchen.
We stayed here last week for hunting. We had a room with two beds with a pull out sofa. Very clean and a large for five of us. They had breakfast ready for us at 4:30 am for Friday and Saturday which was very nice of them. Hotel was full of hunters and all the hunters were very happy that they had breakfast ready at 4:30 early morning. We will be back next year again for hunting in area and we will stay with this hotel.
Overall the stay was very nice. They have a really cool swimming pool that you can swim under a wall and go outside. Even though there was snow on the ground, the water was warm. It is a great experience and it is fun!!! Don't miss your opportunity to stay at the Quiet House in Dodgeville Wisconsin. Thumbs Up!!!!
Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful which makes up for the Décor being a bit dated (it looks as thought they are in process of updating) and some of the other minor stuff. When someone calls from outside for some reason they have to call back a second time before the call can be put through to the room. Again, not a deal breaker but a bit annoying. They have a computer in the lobby which you can use but it is painfully slow and a but antiquated. Then again, they have free coffee, hot chocolate, tea and my favorite, a big jug of ice water flavored with fresh lemon or orange slices which was so refreshing, If you like a firm bed you might be best off looking elsewhere. If you like a softer mattress than this is the place for you. There is a pool (indoor/outdoor) and hot tub as well as a small fitness center and breakfast room.. Overall, for the price it is a great value and I will go back next time I'm in Dodgeville.
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel on the outside and the lobby is just as nice. The hotel room was exactly what you'd expect. I encountered an issue with my room key not working properly, which involved a few stops at the front desk. They had maintenance go back up with and we got it resolved quickly. The front desk workers were very helpful and friendly throughout my stay. I'm going back next week for another work trip and I am definitely staying there again.
Even though this is an older hotel and fairly small, it is nice and the staff is always pleasant. The themed room are nice as well. I love the whirlpool suites also. The suites are spacious and up to date. The indoor heated pool is a great accessory as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We stayed here last weekend. And we liked everything about this hotel. They had decent people working at the desk and also at the management level. Breakfast was delicious. We were given a meeting room for our family gathering for free.Upon checkout manager even came out and ask us if everything met our expectations. He was very professional and helpful. We recommend this hotel to each and everyone who comes to visit Dodgeville. Thank you.
Place definitely lives up to its name. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. They seemed to be intent on seeing that we were happy with everything. Only thing that was not perfect was the weather and they had no control over that.
Everything was perfect from start to end. All the employees were nice and helpful. Good breakfast. Nice indoor outdoor pool. Small but very nice exercises room. Close to a lots of attractions. We all enjoyed out stay at this hotel.
Mediocre check in process due to unimpressive staff. 2 story hotel with no elevator Pets allowed on 2nd floor. Sock found on floor from previous guest. Breakfast had run out halfway through the allotted time.
My daughter and I were going to the House on the Rock for a quick break. We decided to stay in Dogeville and loved it. I did wish for a larger discount for AARP, but it was a good room. The area is full of things to do and places to see.
The staff was very friendly. The pool was awesome as you could swim from inside to outside and outside back inside. The pool made our stay. Room was very spacious. Bathroom was older but clean. Breakfast was okay. We would stay here again as it was near House on the Rock.
Our family recently stayed at this hotel for one evening. Convenient location, pleasant staff, clean rooms, well maintained property, fair price. We would stay here again! The owner informed us that they are in the process of doing some very nice renovations/improvements. Pool was very nice, the kids liked being able to go thru a "doggy-door" to access the outdoors and be able to swim back inside.
I loved staying here last week. It was great time for all of us. we had five rooms reserved for a family gathering. Everything from start to end went very well. People here are very friendly. My room was very clean and spacious. they had a lots of varieties in the breakfast. Upon check out we were given candy bars ( with our name on it ) by the manager who seems very caring and polite. We will come back next year for another family gathering.
We liked the hotel but not the fact that there were 18 stairs to climb. I have a bad knee so climbing those steps was a bit**. I knew that it was a 1 shot deal. No up & down for me. Luckily I had my daughter with so she was able to bring the luggage up for me(was told all the first floors were full). Because we had prepaid, we we kinda stuck. BUT, the room was nice. Esp. the seating area. Beds were comfy. Didn't check out breakfast cause of the steps. Bummer
All was GREAT!! The owner, Mike, was top notch is all aspects. Room was comfortable and breakfast hit the spot. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area. The price was appropriate for the stay! We would certainly stay here again when in the area.
We stayed here last week. we had a good time. everyone was so friendly. Our room was clean and had everything that we needed. We paid almost $170.00 for a night ( Saturday weekend ) but it worth the price. they had a good breakfast. A lot to choose from. We will stay here again next month for a birthday party of my grand son.
We spent 4 nights at this hotel recently and were extremely pleased with the location, service and the overall facility. The staff was very helpful and polite. We had a large room on the 2nd floor of the building. The room and bathroom were clean and looked to be newly renovated. There was a nice seating area, a desk, spacious layout, and a coffee/tea service at the lobby. The bed was very comfortable (hard like most European beds). The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub and a shower. Everything was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff was very pleasant and the manager even called us on our last night to ensure that we had a good stay. A very nice touch! We had a great breakfast. The indoor and out door pool was excellent, too.
