very friendly welcoming front desk staff. rooms were clean and comfortable. didn't have time to try the outdoor pool but it looked nice for kids. breakfast was well prepared with many selections available. would like to see bacon added to the menu as they only had sausage available at the date of our visit.
This hotel was clean and location was convenient. Breakfast was good. Accommodations and amenities met our needs for one night stay.
This is a great place we have stayed there several different times and the staff and rooms are always in good shape and great service and such nice people to deal with quick and easy check in and check out will definitely be back in the future already have another reservation for the fall to stay on our way south again for vacation in October! Hoghly recommended to anyone traveling south on 65 easily accessible
Very comfortable overnight stay. We had an accessible room so the tub / shower was a little different than others. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They do offer breakfast items but we opted for Shoney's that was located in the same town.
Stayed in Clanton while attending University of Alabama graduation. Price was about a quarter of rooms nearer to destination. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and staff was fantastic.
This Best Western is a good place to stop for the night. Beds are comfortable and everthing is as it should be. The employees are top notch, from our experience. Ya can't beat the breakfast! Biscuits and gravy!
My wife and I visit Clanton often and this property is always clean ,inviting and comfortable! Staff is always kind and courteous and mindful that we're senior citizens. Since we are rewards members we occasionally have enough points for gift cards and sometimes enough for a room!
Super friendly at check in and check out. Nice to feel welcome as a person instead of just them doing the job with no interaction. Room was clean and quiet. I felt very safe as a woman traveling alone.
It may not be a 5 star hotel, but the people were wonderful, the room was spotless. The king size bed was clean, comfortable and so were the pillows. We had a travel trailer with us and they had parking for trailers. Our dog was welcomed and not charged a mortgage, 15.00 for our furbaby :) . Hope all Best Westerns are as nice as this one, because BW is now going to be our go to spot. Thank you to BW and staff at Clanton. We will see you again. Jack, Sue and Toby :) We stayed 10/27/2023
Since we were traveling to Florida for a week of vacation, we decided to stay on the road overnight and selected your Clanton, AL location. Easy to find, clan and they were gracious to accommodate our family with three rooms located next to each other!
I love this hotel they are very nice to me each and every time I go here the only issue I have with the place is the parking for trucks having to pull all the way to the back of the road and not close to hotel kind of sucks but other then that one of the best hotels in clanton
I stayed here for less than six hours on the last leg of a road trip (I took a shower, changed, and slept for four hours). The room was actually good; I'll give them that. But I'm convinced they're operating fraudulent business conduct out of this facility. I was charged $250 in addition to my room (with no notice). I contacted the office, who had no explanation; and only after I contacted corporate did I receive a notice from them saying the miscellaneous charge was because I apparently “smoked weed in room” (they couldn't even be bothered to put the drug's actual name on an official document). A few big problems with this: 1) I've never smoked marijuana in my life. 2) I was on the road trip for a work conference, who certainly wouldn't have been okay with me smoking marijuana. 3) Marijuana isn't legal in *any* of the states I traveled through (so even if I were someone who used marijuana, I would have been risking criminal prosecution multiple times over, which is absurd). I reached out to argue my case and even offered to return for a drug test (traveling there for that would cost less than the $250 they're charging me) and was told the only way to override the charge would be to speak to the owners, who have continued to refuse to reach out to me even after multiple attempts at contact. And that, ultimately is my biggest issue. The charge upset me; but my bank has already assured me that I won't pay it. At this point, it's an issue of them defaming my character, lying to corporate, and refusing to engage in any dialogue with me. All the signs of a place that haphazardly and without cause adds fraudulent charges to customer's bills. So be cautious about staying here and being the next victim of the scam. I've filed reports with the Attorney General of Alabama, the Better Business Bureau, and my credit union is launching a fraud investigation. So hopefully soon they'll have to stop the scam. Until then, I'd recommend somewhere (no, *anywhere*) else. As an aside: While very friendly, Best Western corporate's number is useless. They don't do anything to hold owners to account, so I would honestly just recommend not staying with this chain in general.
I have thousands of night in several different hotels over the last 25 plus years. This Best Western is among the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The desk reps were great, professional, and friendly. The morning breakfast was as advertised. The OJ was especially tasty to me. We had two rooms and these comments reflect group comments.
Great place to stay. Amazing staff. Very clean rooms. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety. Front desk staff was very courteous friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking spots. Fast easy check in and check out.
Excellent Best Western, as always. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast and amenities. Helpful staff, good location for travel. We always stay in Best Westerns whenever possible when traveling. Will stay here again!
Great place to stop on your way down South. It's right off the highway. Rooms are spotless & breakfast is good with a good variety. I especially like their egg omelets, sausage, biscuits & gravy and the coffee is really good! Friendly staff also. We've stayed here several times during our travels.
This is our 3rd year in a row staying here. The room is what we expected it to be, the help is always eager to help and are cheerful and the breakfast is great! The motel is easily accessible from interstate 65
Always leery about motel's but this one felt safe and secure. The grounds and the room were clean and well kept. All of the other occupants seemed to be families or couples traveling with dogs. I was there for a competition with my dog. You are not allowed to potty your dog on the property but have to walk over to an adjacent field. While it appeared that most people just leave their dog's deposits I picked up mine. Sadly, no trash cans so I threw it (in a baggie of course) over the gate into the dumpster. The field is poorly lit at night.
Our stay could not have been better. The hotel was clean, updated and well maintained. The room was spacious and had a sitting area with a couch plus fridge and microwave. Two sinks! Wonderful shower. And the breakfast, wow! Omelettes, smoked sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, waffles, plus fruit and pastries. If we pass through we plan to stay again. It was the best!!!
Congenial night clerks, good clean breakfast area, all amenities worked, heat & a/c both comfortable & easy to work controls, quiet at night no highway noise. Only problem was a difficult to find one lane entrance road from highway.
We're traveling as two families with prospective college students for 9 days. We were checked in efficiently and the pleasant front desk staff person was able to process my Best Western gift card without any problems (many times this has been a challenge at other hotels). The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great.
We chose this hotel to stay overnight while road tripping from Orlando to Memphis. The first room available had a strong smell of cigarettes and they put me in another room which was OK. It was a nice, clean room, with comfortable twin queen beds and a good shower. Pretty standard stuff. The downside is that the hotel is a bit far from restaurants…
This was not the best experience for us. I had high hopes after reading all the great reviews on this site. First off, this is an older property. It is the kind of hotel where you park in front of your door and go straight inside to your room. That being said, it was SO noisy. The constant sound of of people slamming their doors and be obnoxiously loud in the parking lot. We were awakened at 5:50am by two guys standing in the parking lot laughing loudly and carrying on- So annoying. Plus, we had our pet with us so that made her start to bark. If you are traveling with a pet that barks at sounds easily (like slamming car doors) then please do yourself a favor and don't stay here. I also heard 3 trains go by. The walls are super thin and you can hear everything. I got 2 hours of sleep total for the night. Another complaint was the bathroom light. When you flip it on this obnoxiously loud fan starts roaring- sound like a jet engine! I got so annoyed with it I just started using the bathroom in the dark to avoid it. Since we were traveling with our pet they put us in a smoking room and we are non smokers. The stench of stale cigarette smoke is engrained in the carpeting/fabrics. It's awful! The front desk gave us some air freshener but honestly that didn't help much. Our neighbors next door had clearing been indulging in smoking their weed all night because the smell was SO strong!! Honestly, I wished we had booked at the holiday inn across the street. It looked nicer and newer. The cost of our room was $165 which definitely was not worth the cost!! The free breakfast was standard and what you would expect. One positive thing I can say about the room was there were no bugs (that we saw anyway!) So that's a plus. Overall, this was a negative experience for us & When traveling through We will not stay at this hotel again. I would probably try the holiday inn next time.
I'm very thankful for the Best Western staff. Some friends and I were traveling and ended up in a car accident 8 hours from home and 3 hours from our destination, unsure what to do with all the rental car places closed, we had the tow company take us to this hotel. The front desk was so kind to us realizing we had just been in an accident and gave us an unexpected discount for our troubles. They reassured us that the tow company had us in good hands and we're so helpful in letting us know what was around the area because we were clueless. The kindness of the staff made a very stressful day a whole lot easier.
Probably the cleanest Inn in Clanton, and I lived in Clanton for a long time. The room prices are also quite reasonable. The complimentary breakfast is a big plus since not all Inns offer one. The Internet is also adequate.
Very pleasant stay in quiet motel convenient to 65. Every room opens to outside. Welcoming check-in and nice lobby area where breakfast is served. Breakfast was good. The room could use better lighting above the sink, otherwise it was very satisfactory.
The motel was in a convenient location right off of the interstate. The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The desk clerk recommended a local restaurant that had delicious food. They were having a Peach Festival while we were there.
The room smelled like cigarette smoke. There are no elevators, which was a pain for a family with kids and luggage. The staff was friendly. The room seemed to be very clean despite the smoke smell. It had your typical continental breakfast. The coffee was really good, which is important. We wouldn't stay here again because of the smell and elevator issue.
We chose this BW because of the Trip Advisor award and all the great reviews. I was a bit concerned because it's an older property, and they sometimes have upkeep issues. NOT THIS ONE! This property, though older, has had a renovation that brought it up to the standards of newer hotels. It looks freshly renovated, but it happened about 5 years ago! That means the upkeep on this property is impeccable. It's clean, the walls and floors look freshly painted/replaced, and it feels new. It's quiet (on the 2nd floor) and the outer doors do NOT slam! That's a big point for a light sleeper like me. We heard nothing all night. The location is prime, and the staff is quite friendly and professional. We had several questions, and all were answered and handled with an excellent attitude. Rachael is sharp and very helpful, and has a great sense of humor. The pool was clean and nice--we were the only ones there, despite the heat. It was like a private resort! It's walking distance from the cute little Peach Park, and the peach-themed market/restaurant down the hill. Perfect when you don't want to get in the car and drive to eat. The breakfast was standard, but it was kept fresh and replenished. The price for the stay was EXTREMELY REASONABLE. It compares favorably to new properties at double the price. We will always choose this property when we drive through Clanton again. Thanks for such a fine experience.
On April 30th, at 9:14 a.m. I called the Best Western in Clanton, Alabama concerning footwear I wear for business meetings. The lady who answered was the most disrespectful, antagonistic, rude employee I've ever encountered. She was condescending and did not resolve the problem. And even hung up on me
The rooms were decent, nothing really stands out as good or bad, could use new beds, shower was good, breakfast was nothing special but eatable. The staff was awesome though!! the staff itself was the biggest part of giving a rating of 4.
We travel from Michigan to Florida every year. Finding an affordable & comfortable pet friendly hotel in Alabama can be difficult. We don't typically stay at Best Westerns, but after reading the reviews and calling/talking to the front desk staff, we thought we would give it a try. What a nice surprise! Staff were very friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. It is not my typical 5 star hotel, but I am rating it as such due to the convenience, excellent staff, for being pet friendly, and cleanliness. A short walk to Peach Park for shopping, dinner, and ice cream was a treat also after a long day in the car. Thank you! We will be back!
I've been staying at the Triangle Motel in Ishpeming, Michigan for over 30 years, these rooms are always priced right, well stocked bathrooms, immaculately cleaned and a very welcoming American staff!!
We were very pleased with this hotel for our stopover on a road trip. Extremely clean, very spacious, convenient to the highway, good food downtown. Staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was good. Great value too! HIghly recommend this!
We utilized this location during our travels. We experienced outstanding professional staff who were very helpful. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was great with a large selection to meet everyone's desire. The location was quiet and near Peach Park.
Extremely clean and has been tastefully updated. Breakfast was very good with hot ham, eggs and sausage and gravy biscuits. Staff helpful. This was an old exterior entrance hotel so some people may not like the fact the room entrance of from the outside versus interior hallway.
We just spent the night here. The area was convenient to the highway. Very nice area with quaint town close by (5 minutes). Good restaurants in town. The hotel itself was well maintained. The room was comfortable and quiet. Reception staff friendly and helpful.
Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Hotel and room were very clean. Breakfast was outstanding. Omelettes were a nice change from scrambled eggs. Biscuits were heated in the oven, not the microwave which gave them a slight crunch. Absolutely delicious.
We were traveling through Clanton to Gulf Shores for our vacation. This property was well maintained & very clean. We enjoyed our peaceful nights rest. We didn't use the shower so we can't comment on the water pressure but it was clean. The sink water pressure was great. The TV worked and we slept well. The morning breakfast was good for what we ate. We did like the little omelet although we know they come in frozen they were still good. The lady working the front desk was a delight when we arrived. Nice place to stay.
The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were plenty of options to enjoy at breakfast and the beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel!
Rachael checked us in upon our arrival. She was so helpful and pleasant. Suggested the Neighborhood Grill for dinner and it was FANTASTIC. We had a King Room and it was so spacious and CLEAN!!!! One of the nicest hotel we have stayed at.
One of the best, Best Western. We travel with dogs and have found that BW is dog friendly for the most part. The Hotel was as advertised and I would suggest it to everyone. Not a big fan of the Omelet for breakfast but the Waffles were great.
Clean and beautiful campus and great staff!! Many restaurants available. History and other things to do in area. Plenty of parking. Quiet environment. Rooms clean and updated. Great stay. Will be back.
We are traveling north, road trip, Florida to Nashville, and stop in Clayton Alabama to rest. Believe it or not, best hotel so far. And the price was Great. Clean. Free breakfast, not like the old days but okay. The beds were very comfortable with 4 pillows. There was a MICROWAVE (why have they taken these out of hotels recently??), good water pressure. Lots of towels. We were given a list of local favorite places to eat and picked Mexican (San Marcos) and the food was great. Not overly spicy and tasty. The hotel is on top of a hill, and a thunderstorm came rolling through, which was a real Banger!!! The reason for 4 stars is that it was a two story hotel and no elevator BUT IT WAS NICE TO JUST BACK UP TO THE ROOM AND get our luggage in and out.
Expected a motel room. We got a simi-suite. It has a couch and two sinks. King bed. Tv works great with HBO. Strong hot shower. Most items on breakfast bar I have seen in over a year. Pool is open. Very clean and modern. Not a very good coffee pot in our room. Out the door at 99 dollars before taxes is a good price for this room. Highly recommend room 227. Kudos to the breakfast chef.
I made my reservation April 8th for July 23. I worked in the hotel industry for over 40 Years. I received a phone call stating I had booked a smoking room. There is no way I would have done that. It appears I am stuck now because they only have king non Smoking and I have to have 2 beds. Not a good way to start off. We have a lot of family staying there , as we are coming for a family reunion.
We were driving from Anna Ohio area to Orange Beach Al (Tuxedo Flats VRBO for our family of 24) vacation of 8 days. We stopped at the Alabama Welcome Center (Huntsville I65) and asked if they could suggest places to stay on our way down since we had driven 7 hrs by that time. They said Birmingham was close but I want to go further so they suggested Clanton would be a good stop and to try the Peach Farm if we went there. We checked out the book and found one hotel, the Holiday Inn which was full , I checked out another with a known chain I booked it and wife checked ratings afterwards. Not too good. We called backed and asked if we could check out room before we took it. They were very nice letting us check out room but we really didn't like it. Wife then found that Best Western was close, we called from parking lot and found out they had a room. We walked inside and Rae (manager) signed us up and gave us a nice room with King bed etc. There was no comparison between the two hotels. Rae stated that afternoon the Peach Farm had its Peach Queen crowning and while busy should be easy to eat there that night. She said we may want to wander the Peach Farm and enjoy the grounds.
We stayed at the best house in Duck NC. “Just Beachy” is a really BIG house with great views of the Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, with 4 decks. Lots of space to spread out. Walking distance to the town of Duck. Park your car and you can walk everywhere!!! Loved being there will definitely book again! 1245 Duck Rd, Duck NC unit 119
Had to have clean sheets put on bed, they were full of sand and hair, eeuu. Mold on walls in bathroom and tub dirty, double eeuu. Water stains on ceiling and room smells. Not a good stay, should only be a 40$ a night room, but still, no excuse for uncleanliness!
This is a very clean, well maintained property. I'm a smoker and its real nice to be able to get a quailty room. A great place to stay and very friendly staff. I now have stayed here twice. Will be staying many more times in the future.
Hotel was very clean and convenient to interstate. Easy check in and parking right outside your door. It can be a little loud in the mornings with kids running up and down the stairs, so if you're a light sleeper, request a room away from stairs. Other than that, great stay!
I have been pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the Best Western hotels that I have stayed at in the last year. I stayed at one approximately 20 years ago and never stayed at another one because it was so dirty. But the last year I have stayed 3 times at 2 different Best Western and have been completely satisfied. A good value for the price.
The first time we stayed in the Clanton Best Western was because it is exactly half way to our destination. We returned there because we found it to be especially clean and friendly. On this last stay (our third) we found that the cleanliness of the room was not up to the previous stndards.
This hotel is kept clean and up to standards and a great price for the room- we stay here every time we're in town and the location is right off the interstate and close to eating and festivities - be sure to get your peaches while in town !
Front desk personnel were very helpful and understanding during a less than pleasant occasion. My room was very clean and the front desk manager selected a room for me in a quieter part of the facility and on the ground floor.
This is a nice, well-maintained facility that we have stopped at before and will do so again if our travels bring us this way. The staff is pleasant and accommodating and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
We stopped at this hotel on our way to the Gulf as it was a great halfway point and dog friendly. We had a ground floor room closest to the field where the dogs could be walked, and we were able to park our vehicle right at the room. Rachel working the front desk was kind and helpful. The room was perfect for our needs, and we had a great stay. Although the breakfast was limited due to COVID, they did their best to offer a wide variety of pre-packed items. This hotel was a great choice for us!
While the hotel itself was nice enough, we stayed on the first floor and couldn't sleep with all the noise from the second floor. We could hear every single step. Those above us were making noise til midnight and picked up at 4. If you want good sleep, stay somewhere else.
Have stayed in clanton most years for over 25 and always good to stay here. Peach park which is right there is fabulous . Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Used to be an elderly lady who even remembered us from year to year. She has since passed i believe.
We Spent 3 days here and the staff was polite and helpful. The rooms were super cleaned and sanitized. The grab and go breakfast was good as well as the refreshing pool. It was very close to everything
We were in room 115 with the car at our door. The only issue we had with the room was that the little refrigerator had no freezing capabilities. We were traveling and would have liked to keep a couple things frozen. Also it's one where if you turn on the bathroom light, the fan constantly runs - we usually use the bathroom light as a nightlight which was impossible. But the room was very clean and well appointed. Faucets, shower - everything worked very well. The internet was easily accessed - mirrors and tables were plentiful. Because of the coronavirus scare, there was no hot breakfast - only prepacked items - it would have been nice of them to give a discount for that lack.
It's an older facility that appears to being updated. The breakfast is average (e.g. no bacon or potatoes.) The staff is personable, but I could hear every step take in the room above us. The largest drawback for me is that all rooms exit to the parking lot. I much prefer interior corridors, for safety reasons.
We were enroute to Florida and stopped for the night. It has a nice lobby area and the desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was very well decorated and clean. The beds were excellent. We would gladly stay there again!
This place was fine as we were traveling on a long road trip. No problems! This Best Western was modern, clean and safe. We had a downstairs room and it was fine. Breakfast was good, simple and adaquate. We would stay again.
We needed a place to stop on a turn around road trip. I decided to use my BW points. The little BW is well maintained, very clean and well-staffed. What a great place. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Very reasonably priced. It has everything one needs for a good overnight stay. Breakfast area was done well and also maintained. If one needs to take a break on the I-65 trip, this BW is highly recommended.
This Best Western is an example of a hotel properly operated. You must have a valid charge card to stay here. This does an excellent job of keeping out the problematic guests who often cause disturbances. Check in and out was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was well presented and had great variety. The king room was like a suite in other hotels! Well done. Will definitely use again.
I would highly recommend this Best Western hotel! The staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating! Our room was VERY and nicely decorated. We felt very comfortable and relaxed here. The breakfast bar they offer in the morning was great! Plenty of choices and the eating area was clean and organized. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip through!
This has to be the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The hot breakfast is really good & everything about the hotel is very clean. We returned this year on our way to FL & recommended it to my 2 sisters & their husbands for their stay in March. This will be their 2nd year also. I'd recommend this hotel because I really appreciate the cleanliness of this hotel as well as the good, hot breakfast. I forgot to mention that the beds are incredibly comfortable & we slept like a baby last year as well as this year. Very comfortable!!!
Needed a hotel and phoned ahead to Clanton Best Western. It is an older hotel with all rooms accessible from outside but in splendid condition. The room was clean with updated furniture and fresh carpet. Breakfast was very good. I would stay there again without hesitation.
A very pleasant facility that provided a clean, comfortable, well-appointed room (great shower!) and a typically good BW breakfast. We will stay here again the next time we are in the area. The facility is a little hard to get to but worth the effort.
I stayed here for one night while working up the road at Lay Dam. I was instantly pleased to discover that my room was located on the first floor. It seems I'm always on the upper floors. Very annoying. Overall, this establishment is pretty decent. The wifi seemed fast enough, and the rooms were quite large. I will say that if you're hauling a trailer be sure to see how the desk wants you to park. They have a particular spot and position on where and how to park. Boom!
Very Clean rooms, Friendly Staff and good breakfast. This is the only hotel in 25 years of traveling, that i would give a 99 % satisfied rating to. Right down to Internet speed, TV selections and accommodating staff The only negative was no elevator and the desk clerk volunteered to move me down stairs and seemed happy to do it. .
We arrived with no reservations, but being the middle of the week, we had no problems securing a room. Rachel, the front desk clerk, was exceptionally nice and we were checked in a short time. Our room was clean and fresh smelling. Plenty of towels. Breakfast the next morning was good too; typical continental motel breakfast. It was nice to have breakfast on the premises.
Very reasonable and nice motel. They have two bathroom lavatories—one next to restroom and one in the bedroom. I liked it as it was like having “his and hers” counter spaces. The room had a couch to sit on and relax. I also liked that you could park right next to your room. Very convenient. The breakfast room had an average quantity of food items but it was still adequate. The dining area was kept a bit too chilly, though. Overall, good value.
Staff were friendly, rooms were clean. Breakfast was as expected. shower had decent pressure and water was hot. Lobby coffee was surprisingly good and strong. I am on the road for extended periods so listed above are some of what I look for in a hotel. I dont need all the flash and glamour.
This is a perfect stopping place for our drive from Kentucky to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We have stayed here many times and it is consitantly well kept and the room is always nice and we have no problems. The staff is pleasant and near by attractions add to our stay. Having a breakfast buffet is a nice add so we don't have to make additional stops on our way.
quick clean comfortable overall a good experiance This review requires 200 Characters liked the hotel hate the reviewing omg still need more characters needed place spur of the moment this suited nicely
The Best Western is on a hill by the Interstate, just above the legendary Peach Park, a fruit stand/BBQ joint/ice cream shop (duck in for a peach ice cream cone). Parking is ample, the desk staff was pleasant and efficient, and the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast spread enabled me to create 2 sausage biscuits which hit the spot. The OJ dispenser was broken and the room was a little pricey, but I would return.
We have stayed at this Best Western several times now during our yearly trek and always find it clean and the staff friendly. We enjoy going to the Peach Park at the bottom of the hill as well. The complimentary breakfast had many choice and the coffee was great!
Enjoyed a nice rest after a long day of driving. Bed was comfortable and room was cool. Breakfast was a added treat. All employees were courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this Best Western. We liked it so much, we stopped in again on the return trip home.
My husband and I stayed one night on our drive to the Florida Panhandle. This hotel sits behind the Peach Park Farmer's Market and across from the RV park. The room had two sinks, which was really strange. They should consider remodeling, expanding the sleeping area and/or replacing the very small bathtub. It was okay for a one night stay, just quirky.
The rooms are spacious and each has a refrigerator and microwave. They are always clean and the breakfast variety makes you feel you are at a restaurant. There is a park across the street for little ones to work off energy and several area stores within walking distance. It is a good value for the money.
The showers are amazing, the beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or through Clanton, AL.
Fresh from an overnighter at this hotel. . It looked surprisingly fresh from the outside, not sketchy at all. Upon entering the room, it looked like it had had an update, but it reeked of sour/feet/wet dog. Turned on the a/c full blast and sprinkled some essential oils around. Help tremendously. Carpet turned my white socks brown. Bed was extremely hard. So hard my ribs are sore on both sides. Sheets scratchy and irritating. Walls very thin. Main office was clean and cool, the young man at the desk was very nice and helpful. Excellent water pressure, plenty of very hot water. Nice pillows. A/C was a beast. So if you like hard beds, a good shower, to sleep very cold, and don't care what your sheets feel like, you'll feel right at home.
Clean and wonderful place to place your head. Quiet and located just N. of Montgomery after driving through that traffic. Just a clean Nice hotel. One other motel next to it, with a few restaurants and gas stations located right out the door of the hotel. Enjoy
The property is conveniently located to the interstate, restaurants, churches and shopping. the staff are always friendly and helpful. we love the Best Western Rewards points as well and have recieved gift cards and free nights numerous times.
We booked his hotel in person at the last minute before a funeral in town. The very helpful lady at the desk let us look at the room first, and we were so impressed. It had been recently updated, fresh, and extremely clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Brand new tub and bathroom counter. The breakfast was much better than expected for such an inexpensive rate. Great variety of hot and cold items. I don't know he desk clerk's name, but she was amazing. As far as I could tell, she was working the desk and taking care of the dining room all with a smile on her face. She was very pleasant. Other hotels in his area were either dumps or over priced. We highly recommend this Beat Western. And it's next door to Peach Park!
This was a smaller BW then what we are used too.... however it was clean and right off the highway. The beds were not comfortable which surprised us bcuz they normal are awesome! All in all tho would stay again, just hoping they update their bedding and mattresses.....
Our visit to Clanton was enjoyable due to the fact that we were very pleased with our room accommodations. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was a slow drain in the dressing area sink which we reported to the front desk as we checked out and they thanked us for the info. The front desk was very helpful in providing info on places to eat in the Clanton area. When we return to Clanton we will definitely stay there again!
When I first checked the rates for this hotel, they were higher, so I didn't book. This is January and I decided to hold off, so I didn't book until the day before. The price had dropped, so I decided to give it a try. I was considering an older motel across the street, which has good reviews, and had this one not dropped I would have gone there. However, this was really clean, really friendly and I was impressed. Have stayed at the HI next door, but I like this better.
While the road to the hotel not well marked, the hotel is visible and offers a quiet location with ample well-lit parking. The hotel, the grounds were well maintained. The room was clean, not overly sprayed with room freshener (a great relief for the breathing impaired), there was fresh clean linens and the furnishings adequate for this price point. The rooms have exterior access and the breakfast room is off the main lobby. The location also, offers easy access to several gas stations, a variety of restaurants and easy interstate access, all for a reasonable price
Had to stop here for one night on my way to Florida. Easy check in, friendly front desk clerk. The most important feature for me is cleanliness. This hotel was very, very clean. And it is pet friendly. Having a room on the first floor was helpful if you are traveling with your dog, easy in and out for bathroom breaks! Parked my car in front of the door to my room, very convenient. There are many restaurants to choose from in the area. I left too early to have the breakfast so I cannot comment on that feature. I would definitely stay here again
Stopped over on our way through. Hotel is well lit, feels safe, and is well appointed. We got in very late (about 2), hoped to sleep in. Our room was 101, which is up close to the office/lobby. The other hotel guests started their days at about 0630-0700, and seemed to think yelling at each other and talking loudly outside others' rooms was ok. There's an ice machine not far away, and a few people filled coolers early. I was able to doze off again after a while, before the housekeeper's carts and mop buckets with plastic wheels going down rough concrete took over the noise making duties around 830. I finally gave up on getting any more rest for the night. The front desk staff were very courteous and polite (Casey was there when we arrived, and he was very helpful and hospitable, and the lady in the morning was as well.) Overall it's a good place to stop over, but just avoid room 101 if you want to sleep in. Conversely, if you're one of the people who thinks it's ok to be loud and make a lot of noise early, then please request this room to disturb fewer other guests.
My wife and I have stayed at this Hotel in the past traveling to/from the Gulf Coast and found it to be a nice spot. We stayed here recently on the way to the Gulf and were disappointed. First of all, unlike what the trip advisor website says, this is a smoking property. We had reserved a non-smoking room...but, either someone had smoked in the room or we were close to a smoking unit because it smelled of smoke. The hotel is also pet friendly...great for pets and their owners...not so much if you have animal allergies. I don't want to say our room stunk...but, let's just say it had a less than desirable odor and my eyes itched all night and most of the next day. On the positive side, our bed was comfortable, a nice portable crib for our grandson was provided, the staff was very courteous at check in/check out and the breakfast was excellent. If you are a smoker and/or are traveling with pets...this is a great place to stay. if you have an aversion to either one of these, this is not a good choice.
I had an issue with the hotel. The staff stepped right in and handled the situation very well. I am glad to see that there is still a business out there that have great customer service. They need to give classes to other establishments on how to handle customers.
Advise checking the condition of your room before unpacking. This "non-smoking" room had a strong odor from smoking. No one advised that a construction crew was sanding the doors for painting. The door key slots were taped over.
This hotel is very nice. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and Bradley at the front desk was super helpful. The only disappointment we had was breakfast. I had the waffle and it was good. My girls tried to have bagels and they were hard as a rock. Other than that, our trip was great!
Easy access on/off I65. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was exceptional. We had a King size bed (very comfortable) there were 2 separate sink areas, which was great for getting ready in the morning! There was a separate seating area with sofa and coffee table plus a desk area. Also, a great little market next door called Peach Park, it included a barbecue restaurant, a bakery, candy kitchen, and a gift shop.
We stayed at this hotel on the way down to gulf shores Alabama. The room was very clean, had 2 beds with a refrigerator and microwave as well as an outdoor pool. We arrived later in the evening after a full day of travel and were able to go right across the street to the Peach Park for dinner. After dinner we took an evening swim before hearing back to the room. In the morning we enjoyed the excellent continental breakfast prior to our departure.
This hotel is a great place to rest on the way to or from the Gulf Coast. Hotel has been updated. Room was clean and quiet and the beds comfortable. Easy location off of I-65. Be warned though that Alabama still has smoking rooms in hotels so be sure to state your preference.
To be quite honest we had been staying on up the road and for lots more money....I took a chance on this hotel due to all the fantastic reviews I read about it.....I was pleasantly pleased! Not only was the price adequate for a single night's rest but, the hotel is nicely decorated and sits up on a rise away from traffic......it was quiet, no interstate noise. Our room was ready when we arrived, cool and super clean. We had a very good night's rest & that's what it's all about, getting a good night's sleep. We woke up refreshed & ready to travel on. The breakfast was very good...who could ask for more! We travel often to Florida and this will certainly be our new half-way stop over. Thank you Best Western for clean, comfortable and reasonably priced.
We arrived without reservations; however, we were given a room we requested at a reasonable price. The place was clean and the beds comfortable. The hotel location is near shopping and restaurants plus you are unable to hear the noise from I-65.
We used to drive all the way to Florida from Ohio. We try to find a spot about 1/2 way. Clanton feels right for us and the Best Western was perfect. We were friendly welcomed and found the staff to be helpful.
The room was clean, accessible and comfortable. We stayed there this past week and the staff was very friendly as well. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were soft as well, thank you for a great stay.
This place is a hidden gem. When we pulled in my husband said, oh next time let's stay at Holiday Inn Express ( they are next door) since it's a hotel and not motel. Not gonna happen! This Best Western was clean and updated. They had a great pool that wasn't packed. But honestly breakfast was the selling deal for us. Most highway motel /hotels have the same crappy breakfast. Not the BW in Clanton. They had so many small extras that make it worth coming back. They had sugar free pancake syrup. They had chocolate chips and granola to add in the yogurts. They had whipped cream and cinnamon for your waffles. They had cheese omelets, link sausages, biscuits and sausage gravy, make your own waffle, cereals, big muffins in wrappers, bagels, yogurts, doughnuts, toast plus coffee, milk and juice. Thank you BW for being so great.
We traveled with our two granddaughters (ages 5 and 2) and were very pleased with the clean, quiet room and the very nice staff. In addition, the hotel had a nice outdoor pool that we all enjoyed at the end of a long day on the road. The next morning, we ate breakfast which was good, then walked over to a large lighthouse-fountain and discovered a wonderful playground complete with fancy slides and swings which the girls could (and did) go wild on before another long day riding in the SUV. This was a very nice and unexpected respite from our travels.
Was a nice hotel to stay at. Even though the place was busy, it was quiet all night. Everyone was very helpful. Gave us many ideas for supper. The place we decided to go to, was excellent. We travel this way each year and will stop at this Best Western again.
Hotel us very clean, convenient off the highway. And a nice breakfast with cheese omelets, sausage, bisquits and gravy, Danish, fruit, juice etc and good coffee. Came in late at night and Trish was great to accommodate our requests and then was back again in the morning keeping breakfast stocked!
Staff is very friendly, and it is one of the cleanest hotels I've been to in a long time! Pool was sparkling clean, breakfast was decent. Would recommend!!!! If you are looking for a quick stop, or a long stay I would pick this hotel. You can walk next door to Peach Park.
Beautiful facility.Very well maintained. Very clean. Nice pool area. Internet reception very weak in some areas. I have stayed at this facility on multiple occasions and intend to do so again. I have frequently recommended it to others.
The people who worked here we're extremely nice. Location was great. Didn't try the pool but it appeared very clean. Loved the park across the road as well. Breakfast included omelets, waffles and biscuits and gravy and all was very good.
This place is pretty quiet and I felt safe the whole time I was there, even when I walked to the drink machine at 1am. The whole entire staff is VERY friendly. This place is also dog friendly and it is $10/per pet per night which is cheaper than most places that have a fee. The only thing about having a dog is that you cannot walk your them on the grass AROUND THE ENTIRE PROPERTY. However, there is a field across the street you can walk them to. If you cannot walk them far or are handicap, this is not the place to stay. There is a fridge, microwave and nice TV in room. There is free wifi that is a little slow but I assume it is because everyone staying there is using it. Join the Rewards program and you'll get a little bit of a discount! I would stay again!!
Would stay here any time I'm in the area. Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast area was clean and tidy. Would stay here any time when passing through. Very pleasant staff. Nice facilities for handicapped travelers.
Stayed there last year and it was good again this year. I love the old style motels where you can park right in front of the door into your room. Very convenient for us older people who don't like a long walk from our car to our room.
After a frustrating day dealing with miles and miles of bumper-to-bumper traffic due to road construction on Rt. 65, and seeing a sign that it was going to continue for another 21 miles, I decided to get off and find a room. The awesome young lady at the front desk was not only professional, but she had a sense of humor that made my day seem not so bad. There were many people there who were doing the same thing that I was and she took care of everyone very quickly and efficiently. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. However, the chair was probably the most uncomfortable that I have come across in the many hotels I've visited this year. Also, the chair that was by the desk left a lot to be desired - it kept going down and I'd have to stand and adjust the height again and again. Everything else about the room was fine. It is a pet-friendly hotel and I was told that the pet-friendly rooms get a "deep cleaning" of the carpets, which was nice to know. It is convenient to Rt. 65 but not so close that you hear the traffic sounds. Also close to several restaurants. A nice quiet, comfortable evening.
We were driving back north on I-65 and we thought that it was about that time to stop. We found the Best Western Inn. It was very close to I-65 and in the midst of a number of restaurants. There was easy access from the highway. The room was clean and well-kept. The king-sized bed was comfortable, though I thought the pillows could have been a bit bigger. We ended up getting a room that had a large bathroom that was handicapped accessible. It was nicely done. with a large shower and more than enough assist (grab) bars. Breakfast.was served in the morning. The staff was friendly and efficient. The grounds were clean and well-manicured, even the pool looked a bit inviting. The price was very reasonable.
Clean room. Adequate breakfast. The staff was very nice. The beds were firm. You might want an upstairs room. It sounded like the folks above us were stomping around the room. It woke us up before 6am. The fan in our bathroom was broken in that it was SO loud we did not use it. It was scary loud!
This was a perfect stop in our travels to the coast. Easy to get to off the interstate and not far away from restaurants and a Walmart. The cost of the room was very reasonable and had an added discount for signing up with their rewards program. The woman on duty (I believe her name was Trish) was informative about the area and super nice getting us set up at the last minute. The room/bathroom was very clean. We would stay here again for sure!
Our room was spacious and clean, with clean linens on the bed and decent towels. It had a refrigerator which came in handy for us. Also had a small microwave. We left too early the next morning to take advantage of their free breakfast, so can't comment on that. Very reasonably priced. Would stay here again if we find ourselves in Clanton.
This is a stopover for us on our return from Florida. Motel has been recently updated and is very nice. Great breakfast in the morning. They have free wi_fi. Parking is easy and getting on and off the expressway is very simple.
Very nice, area appears safe, this appears to be newer hotel. Beds comfortable very comfortable, rooms clean, updated and lovely. Breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold items. Bonus... They take pets.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Right off the expressway. Beds were great! Only problem for me was very limited breakfast items. No eggs but we would stay here again on our travel to Florida. Check in was easy.
My daughter had traveled 9 hours to attend her younger sisters graduation. On her return to Enterprise she was so exhausted that she couldn't make it all the way home. She stopped at this Best Western. We were nervous about her being at a hotel by herself. The lady at the desk was extremely understanding. Gave her a room on the first floor where she could park her car right at her door. The next morning my daughter overslept and when she was too late for breakfast. The lady in charge of breakfast noticed and went and prepared a breakfast for her. Wow! You don't get customer service like that anymore!! Our daughter said the rooms were nice and clean also! I'd highly recommend this hotel if not for any reason but to experience customer service!! Thank you Best Western of Clanton!
Have stayed here on numerous occasions while visiting our son and family. Hotel staff are always friendly and caring making sure your stay is memorable. It's located right off I-65 and close to gas and food services. Only problem is there needs to be a bigger sign posted on road heading to hotel as Whataburger drive way is right next to your turn. Overall this hotel is in a safe area, clean rooms and excellent staff members.
Hotel was renovated within the past 2 years, had clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, good breakfast, plenty of regular and trailer parking (a must for our trip). Overall a great two night stay for a reasonable price!
Great value and comfortable. Easy access from I-65 but far away enough that traffic sounds from the Interstate are not heard. Clean room with very comfortable bed. The free breakfast was very tasty and well presented, with biscuits, gravy, cheese omelette and waffle. Lots more, too much to list. will gladly stay there again when traveling in that area.
my husband and I was out of town working with his crew, we went to ( clanton ,Alabama,35046. on oct 12,2017 . and when we got here we wernt to best western motel as we do a lot when we are working out of town. they knock on our door at 9:00 am telling us that we had to more to a nother motel because they over booked there motel and we had tio move into another motel .we thought we had both rooms for three days, but they made us move the very next day.we stay in the best western motel a lot out of town and he some problems but noughting like this day.my husband and his crew works at night because he works on BB&T banks all over and only can work at night when they are closed.so after working in the night,my husband n his crew that was in a room them selfs, had to get up and find a motel.i can not beleave what happen and I still have not heard back from them.my email address is ( morrowbnd@gmail.com ),I have emailed them and give them my phone number and still they have not called , so I would like everyone to know that if you are out of town working don't think best western in the best motel to get, ( thank you best western ) for the best motel vist we have had.donna morrow
Stayed only one night on way to vacation in Florida. Nice clean offer full breakfast which is regular hotel fare, bland but there if interested. Easy on and off I 65. Outside entry so single women may not like access.
The hotel was a pleasant surprise. I have stayed at a BW plus before, which was also nice, but a tad outdated. This property seemed quite new. The rooms were spacious and had great amenities. Plenty of electrical outlets for all of our devices. My only complaint is that the television did not swivel.
We use this hotel going to and coming back from our vacation destination in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We know it will always be well taken care of and have no worries about the condition of the room. The Breakfast is a convenient plus, not having to visit a restaurant for a morning meal. The owners go out of their way to make this property attractive and well maintained. I highly recommend this if this is the area a person needs to stop. Next door is a unique and good produce and food experience.
We stopped here for the night and was well pleased. Staff was very friendly, room was clean, amble parking. Did not have a chance to use the pool, although we would have liked to. Need to stop for a place for the night, stop here.
Enjoy the stay and breakfast Hmmm Good and sleep very well in the bed thanks for getting us have a comfortable night of relax to heading off to the beach the next day People was very friendly in honoring our request for first floor room and next to our rest of our family
Stopped in late for a nights rest.. Very clean & comfortable!! Right off the highway & a picture opportunity by the peach park light house!! Also noticed a cute park for kids to play on beside the lighthouse
Made reservation online, asks how many adults/children, after driving for hours and arriving at 10:30 at night, the front desk clerk, says that because one child is 14, they have to charge extra, no where on the website does it say children have to be less than 14, or ask the ages of the children on the website. The front desk clerk the next morning, also could care less that what they did was wrong. I had entered my phone number, so they even could of called, to inform me of the unwritten policy. Just a back door upcharge.
Just off the interstate, very convenient, we had pre-booked a king size, non-smoking room, but when we arrived, all they had was a double, smoking room. Lindsay was very apologetic, but nothing could be done other than drive around to find another hotel. We checked out the room: clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable except for the odor of cigarette smoke. I always bring scented candles and that helped. Lindsay called within 5 minutes to check if we needed anything and to apologize again. The beds were comfortable and we had a very good night's rest, rising early to be on our way. The complimentary breakfast had many choices replenished quickly by Lorna, who served double duty at the front desk, and the surroundings were quite pleasant. She explained why our accommodations were not what we pre-booked, explaining that it is often better to reserve directly from the hotel rather than the various on-line sites.
Valarie was great at the front desk and very helpful and welcoming. This hotel is very clean and I felt very safe being a grandmother with 3 young kids. The staff was very friendly. We had a great time. Breakfast was wonderful.
We stayed with our 2 year old grandson. The room was clean and the beds were great! Breakfast was good. A little crowded but overall a fantastic stay. Well worth the money. Autumn was especially helpful.
Stayed for two nights and had various problems that the hotel staff did nothing to fix and had no interest in the problems. Room was not cleaned and was told it was because we were in there! Left hotel to sightsee at 8:30 and room cleaning began at 9:00. Told manager on return and did not care, went back and the reception was locked so could not even get clean towels. Complained again the next day finally had room cleaned but at all times staff were rude. Do not stay here unless you have no options or do not care abut customer service. Staff just lock up and smoke outside!
I went for a little me Time, and that is what I got! The hotel was very quiet and peaceful! I will definitely be back again. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and sweet. The room was very clean and comfortable. I had a very peaceful night. No problems at all.
Hotel room was clean and comfortable. breakfast was nice. we received a late checkout at 11:30. made special accommodations for my wife to "hang out" at the hotel after checkout while i was out on business in the morning Cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. decent price for the room. Had painters in repainting the bathrooms. However, this was done after checkout / before checkin. Did not interfere with the stay. just wanted to let anyone know, that bathrooms were getting repainted.
When we drive from Northern Kentucky to Panama City Beach, this stop puts us about 2/3's of the way... This Best Western is slightly off the expressway so you can't hear the traffic all night. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. It's convenient to the expressway although there is not much around which suits us just fine... The front desk recommended the Peach Park, local restaurant, and it was delicious...
Hotel was a good deal for the price paid. Right off the interstate. Had a good breakfast that had alot to chose from. Beds where a little small, but were comfortable. Internet worked well. Shower was hot and clean. Room did need a good deep clean though. Would stay again for that price, couldn't be beat.
Very unaccommodating, ownership/management rude w/no hospitality. Claim to be pet friendly but only if you want to be stuck in a smelly smoking room. Pets are not permitted in non-smoking rooms. Blood was found on the sheets. The same owners own the Holiday Inn Express next door. Benefits; wifi, parking included. Recommendation; drive a little further on I65 in either direction and stay somewhere else
This hotel is very nice. It has nice rooms and the service is excellent. Their breakfast bar is very good with a wide variety of choices. We have stayed at this hotel before and really like it. They have a nice pool and lots of things nearby.
The building inside and out was in pretty good shape and our room was a good room, which we've come to expect of BW. Our room was clean and well maintained, and comfortable. While not a complaint (we understand we cannot expect special treatment), it is worth noting we had a different experience than expected regarding our motorcycles. My wife and I both ride motorcycles and were just into our second day of a 2-week road trip. As Platinum/Harley Davidson members of BW, we always hope for at least one perk--to be able to park under the front awning/overhang, at least in bad weather. Well, this day was stormy and rainy, so we asked to be able to park under the overhand. And were told no. There were 2 vehicles parked under that overhang, and when I asked about them learned they belonged to the parents of the general manager, and they stayed at the motel a lot. We were also told that the GM did not allow anyone to park under that overhang. Please note, again, that we understand it is the prerogative of the GM or owner to allow/not allow bikes to park under the overhand. But, in all our years of riding, this was the first time ever that we were told no. And, yes, while we ride in the rain and our bikes get wet, it is nice to be able to get out of the rain at night. Not a big complaint from us, more of a heads up for any other motorcycle riders considering staying there.
My stay at this Best Western rivaled my stay anywhere! The staff were friendly and helpful. They even called after I got in the room to make sure all was ok. The hotel was immaculate and beautiful. The room was very clean and already cool. Excellent Service and Excellent value!!
Room was very quiet and clean affordable in a nice location in a small town not much activity around good for the family I would recommend this to anybody who wants to feel like they're in a safe place. It's extra friendly and make sure they take care of all your needs rooms are very clean
Stayed here 2 nights and overall the experience was very good. Room decor was up to date and I didn't notice any tears in the fabric of the furniture. Bathroom and vanity area also clean. Bed was a little hard but not bad enough to keep me from sleeping.
Nice place and nice people! Was very tired when we arrived, but was able to get a great nights sleep! Quiet and safe place to stay while traveling through Alabama! Love the Peach Village and Restaurant across street too!
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. Beds very comfortable. Room very clean. Reasonable price. Recommend this motel very highly. Tv is on Dish ands 32 inch. Many selections. Shower is very high good for a tall person. Coffee maker in room, microwave and refrigerator. Desk and nice chair
Never again will i stat at a best western, a bit pricey and no exercise room, some of the workers were rude, had to sleep during day and never could get any sleep due to excessive noise right outside my door everyday, never was my room cleaned in a week
The hotel is a little tucked away, but convenient to the interstate and services. Excellent customer service, excellent attitudes by all staff, serious hustle in the kitchen area to keep the breakfast area supplied and tidy. Would stay again. If you are looking for luxury accommodation, this isn't the Ritz, but you'll find it a comfortable and clean environment if the hotel management practices remain intact over time.
We were traveling from Pa to Fl with a rescue puppy we had gotten in Feb. We choose to stay at a BW if we can find them along our route. Clanton was the one that was close to Rte & allowed pets. The BW had nice desk clerks and clean rooms. The breakfast was good and the attendant was pleasant and helpful. We would stay at this facility again.
The hotel is very clean. Staying here is a good. The front desk lady named Britney is very helpful and explains your stay with you. She is very sweet and polite and that's what's missing in the hospitality area. Britney keep up the awesome work for your company.
Stayed here on our way to Destin, FL. Room was great and a great location right off of 65. All room doors are to the outside; however, this was no issue to us. The room was clean and the breakfast was good.
Same as title. Best Best Western hotel my wife and I have ever stayed at. If at all possible, we would love to return. Breakfast was great, room was great, bed was great, parking was a snap, and on and on and on.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice room at a great price! Looks dated from the outside but the rooms have been remodeled and are awesome. Only reason I didn't give it an excellent rating is because I found the mattress to be a little too soft and the WI-FI was spotty at times. Would def stay here again, very clean and well-maintained.
What a fantastic stay! We had a clean and comfortable room. There was a fantastic play area for the kids and the pool was not heated but refreshing. Plenty of food in the area. When we were leaving our breakfast, which was free, was excellent! Omelets, make your own waffles, yogurt, cereal. It was awesome! We will stay here every time on our drive up. It was quiet and clean and worth every penny!
Stopped here after a long trip from Northern IL on the way to Florida. The things that matter most to me is that a hotel is clean and that the mattress comfortable and this hotel met both those wants. We will be stopping in again on our trip this year.
We stayed at this hotel on the way to Florida. I was looking for something around Birmingham but to travel 20 more minutes was worth it. The price was a good value. It has 2 Queens which was something that I was looking. Breakfast was satisfactory.
Our hotel stay was very restful. After a long day's drive, we walked to the park across the street, and then slept in our comfortable beds. The TV was well situated and worked great. In the morning, it was pouring rain, so we hung around a little longer, ate the free breakfast, and went back later for coffee before setting out on the rest of our journey.
We stopped here for an overnight on the way to the coast. Check in was a breeze and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and updated. It also had plenty of outlets to charge electronics for four people. Wifi was good-enough for us to stream movies with no problem. We didn't use the pool, but it was clean. Breakfast had a nice variety of foods. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
The Best Western in Clanton, Alabama has been a great stop over for us traveling from Florida to Kentucky. The property has been recently updated. They are very friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast is outstanding. I would highly recommend this Best Western. It is in an extremely safe area, has microwave, refrigerator and other amenities that make it a great choice.
We love finding a motel built the old fashioned way (with doors to the parking from your room) that are in good shape and this hotel is exactly that. It has been completely redone and is in first class shape. Room was clean, warm and comfortable and so was the bed. Great included breakfast and fast check-in and check-out.
Nice room and checkin staff. Housekeeping very noisy in the mornings with loud rolling carts. They frequently knock on the door early (8:30) when late checkout has been allowed and the do not disturb sign is out. My band plays in the area once a month. We don't get back to the room until 2:30 - 3 am after packing up, so late checkout helps. The room is nice but housekeeping is loud starting at 8am and will ignore the do not disturb sign to get you out. Also wish their late checkout was noon like other chains rather than 11:30.
Stayed here one night while visiting in Clanton. The motel was clean and comfortable, and while it seemed a little old, everything worked fine. The free breakfast was among the best I've seen. Everything seemed fresh and well stocked. Various kinds of fruit, juices, cereals, etc. And the price for the room was relatively low, probably because of the area, but nonetheless, a good value. There was a little traffic noise, but not bad. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We were very happy with the motel and signed up for the rewards program. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit available. The bed was very comfortable. We would stay there again if we're traveling in that direction.
This hotel was easy to get to from the expressway. The rooms was very large and clean, Beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a good breakfast before we left in the morning. We will stay here again.
Rooms look clean but had an unpleasant odor in the air, had to spray lysol & fabreeze to combat the odor. Appliances need upgrading, the iron on the lowest setting still nearly burned my clothes. Looked great on the outside and pictures on the website, however, my room key had to be re-programmed in the middle of my stay. The door & lock was out of line & I had to actually lean hard on the door to close it. A housekeeper did clean the room but appeared to be a drug addict and appeared to have a condition that I have seen people twitch as if they were on a controlled substance. An accompanying patron had checked out but wanted to check the room for their misplaced cell phone. When I asked the manager if it were possible for me to check the room for the phone, the female manager, who appeared to have had an attitude and if I was bothering her, didn't want to check the room nor did she allow me who was still a patron, to check the room for the phone stating that housekeeping will check the room. My concern was not letting housekeeping find the phone and keep it. Needless to say, I was never allowed to check for the phone. I have been to many other hotels and had similiar incidents and was always allowed to check the room even after checking out.
We decided to head to PCB a day early and stopped in here to get some rest before continuing on with our trip. This is a great hotel. Very nice rooms and affordable. Free breakfast. Check in and out went great. This hotel is also very reasonably priced. You are in the Peach capital of the world. Be sure to visit Peach Park which is right beside the hotel.
That's how spotless it was. Even wondered if anyone had ever stayed in my room. Now that's clean! Jaysin was running the place and he was very helpful. Put me on Bertolone's for dinner. It's one of the very best Italian restaurants anywhere. The word was that BW renovates every two years and that's why it looks so good. It was quiet. The breakfast area is small so be prepared to make new friends. I liked the separate sinks. Also liked to be able to reach towels from the tub/shower without getting out. I'll stay there again if given the chance. Rode my bicycle down from the Ham. 55 miles on US31. Pretty darn dangerous.
We were traveling with a u-haul trailer & a small dog. The staff helped us to find parking without unhitching which was very important to us. She also gave us advise on a good dinner. Our dog was comfortable - it was the 1st time traveling for her. It was very satisfying to find a clean, nice hotel that is pet friendly!
Room had everything you expect from a hotel along America's interstate system. Above average towels and linens, Great TV, Refrigerator, and a unique shower system that was exceptional. The price was fair but there was an unusual odor when I opened the door upon arrival. It wasn't really bad and I didn't notice it after being in the room for a few minutes.
Best Western is affordable, clean, and welcoming. Rooms are well appointed. I especially like having a refrigerator in my room and always use it. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I stay in this particular Best Western location (Clanton, Alabama) every time I make the trip home to Alabama and look forward to getting there. On rare occasion, my mother accompanies me on my stays and even she approves my choice of motel and always comments on how clean and comfortable everything is. There is a swimming pool for cooling off and relaxing after a long day of travel. I feel very much at home there after staying so many times.
We have stayed at this Hotel usually twice a year for the past 10 or so years. I am very pleased with all the Renovations that they have done to Improve the quality & appearance of this Hotel. From the Lobby to the Guests Rooms, the change has been dramatically improved. The Current staff is super friendly & helpful. The Breakfast could still use a bit of improvement but overall, still good.
Nice Room My wife enjoyed the Pool very much,The Breakfast was neatly set up and easy to find,Have Stayed at this Motel several times in the past few Years and allways Considered it when We go South. The Staff was cordial and Helpful.over all a very nice stay. Will allways consider it in the future.
Motel looked to be recently remodeled and was clean. The only negative thing I report was how loud the air-conditioner and bathroom fan were - kept me awake most of the night. Breakfast items were nice but we missed scrambled eggs - but they did have hard-boiled eggs.
It was a very nice and clean hotel, but... 1) Staff was not familiar with the computer system 2) The billing was sketchy at best 3) The pool hours were poor for people arriving late and only staying one night. 9a.m. - 9p.m. 4) There was no fitted sheet on either bed, and we were sleeping directly on the mattress pad. There were no extra/heavy blankets available for people of different temperature natures. My wife froze, I was sweating my butt off... 5) The breakfast area is TINY! The tables are packed, and only one had the seating capacity for 4 people. The food options were minimal, and not stocked when we arrived at 0730. 6) The manager was overly present and fairly rude to his employees in the presence of customers. 7) This place costs TWICE as much on your Best Western rewards program from most other Best Westerns. I got a room at a different best western earlier that week for 8,000 points. This one cost me 16,000 points (And a sketchy bill saying 81$ as well)
The staff were friendly, overall the room was clean. The fan in the bathroom was loud and it automatically comes on with the light so no turning it off. Upon arrival we were told we might have to use the front stairs because the ones by our room had recently been painted and the paint was not dry. Of course that was the case, but at least they are keeping up their buildings appearance. (there is no elevator, but I knew that when I booked). I had to make a trip back to the front desk because the key card worked but we could not get the door open. At first we thought it might have been stuck because of recent painting; however, we were told that you might have to go up with the lever because some of the rooms go down and some go up. Seems like a maintenance issue that should be fixed. The beds were just ok. The room did have micro and fridge. We did not use the pool but you do have to cross the parking lot to get to it. Overall it was good enough for our one night stay and was cheaper than the Holiday Inn right next door.
We stayed one night on a trip through the area. The room was really nice. Bed covers, towels, etc.. all clean and nice. The room was in great shape, almost like it had been remodeled recently, no wear and tear visible. The employees were super nice. We were able to do some things on the computer in the lobby also that we needed to for business. Breakfast was really good, hot biscuits, sausage, gravy, waffles with all the toppings and more! Pool area was very nice, and we swam for about an hour. Hotel is walking distance to fast food and Peach Park, a local attraction. We had a great experience.
We booked this hotel on our trip down to Florida. Always book ahead in July due to baseball tournaments traveling also. We were greeted by a very helpful and friendly clerk by the name of Jayson. Our room was on the second floor so had to take the stairs but it was not a problem for us but we will remember that the next time we book here. Our friends room was a smoking room which thrilled them. The rooms was very clean and looked recently renovated. The bed was comfortable. The price was very good also with the AARP discount. We will stay here again next year.
This hotel is great---everything you need/want when you are traveling with grandkids. Rooms have been remodeled and are very nice. The breakfast has a large variety and well stocked. Would highly recommend for a stop on your way to Florida.
Do not stay here. They allow their employees to steal from the rooms and when they know it has happened...they make no effort whatsoever to investigate. They have videos and will not even check the video to see who came and went from the room. Pitiful.
Good, There was no noticeable problems with this hotel, It gave me what we needed for the 2 days we spent there, The morning meal had many different kinds of food to pick from. The price was right, and the room was clean, every one was happy. I really do not know what else to say. Thanks.
An older motel with outside entrances and you have to haul your luggage up the steps to 2nd floor. No elevator. Clean, well appointed, the bed was comfortable. I like having 2 sinks and separate bath and toilet areas. Breakfast area in the lobby is cramped, but the food is quite adequate. Free wi-fi. Good value.
Helpful when needed and provided a smile everytime. Room was clean and functional. What you would expect for the price. We got in late from a baseball tournament and the staff let us stay at the pool a little longer to let the boys play.
They were in the process of pressure washing the hotel and we had to wait a short time before getting into our room. This was an older hotel but remodeled and quite nice and up to date. Breakfast was quite good and healthy.
Always stay at this hotel on the first leg of vacation travel. Great breakfast and clean rooms and just a very good experience to kick off vacation enjoyment! Always have had a good experience and the kids enjoy proximity to Peach Park! Thanks so much folks!
I'm staying here tonight on my way from Melbourne FL to Yellowstone Park and decided to stop when a storm cane upon me and pulled into the Best Western. The building grounds and room I am in is very nice, clean and comfortable bed. A bit on the higher pricey side but not as much as the Holiday Inn Express next door and Days Inn a bit cheaper. Next time I'm booking after I check with TripAdvisor first. Needlessly to say very nice place for the money. I'd stay here again....
Nice property, friendly staff, easy-on, easy-off interstate location near the peach park. Pool had been recently re-modeled. Very nice and very clean. Rooms were neat and clean. No odd smells :). Breakfast was clean, tidy, and sufficient. Good selection. Would probably meet most needs. Fresh fruit, oatmeal, coffee, waffles, hard boiled eggs, etc., etc. I would stay here again. I feel it was fairly priced.
Traveling can often present problems and trips can be tiring. It is always great to get to a hotel and find that the check in staff is friendly and welcoming, the room is clean and comfortable and the bed is great!
I was very satisfied with my stay at the Clanton, AL location. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very clean. I would definitely stay at this motel again and I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone who would be staying in Clanton.
Do not stay at this hotel if you value your possessions. I brought my laptop in to the room to be sure someone didn't break into the car for it. My husband apparently put it on the floor at the side of the bed when he sat down (the side facing the window where it wouldn't be noticed). We left without noticing it. I realized it was missing later that evening after arriving to our destination. I called the hotel the next day and asked if they had found it. Nobody had turned it in. I asked if they could check everywhere, including the laundry room, thinking it could have been swept up with the sheets and comforter. She said they would check and get back with me. Nobody got back with me; actually nobody ever did return calls or follow up until corporate got involved at my urging. Very poorly run hotel. The manager only comes in 3-4 days a week for a half day (at least that is what the staff told me when I asked to speak to her). I asked about the cleaning person; knowing someone had to have taken the laptop from the room. The manager immediately let me know that person had been there for years and wasn't going to be a suspect. There were actually TWO women outside of our room when we left, and both appeared to be cleaning (they were talking and standing with the cart. From the way the manager responded, nobody was ever questioned about the theft of my laptop. The manager also never explained why there were two women or if there should have been two women doing the cleaning. Never. Possibly the second woman took the laptop, but I'll never know, since the hotel refuses to even address it. Also, my husband noticed cameras in the outside hall area and we asked that they be checked and for them to get back with us. They have never checked the cameras, which makes me think they are not even working...but I'll never know. If the cameras were working and they were reviewed, we would know who the thief is and could take legal action. Second only to the theft of the laptop, the breakfast was pitiful. The sitting area was only three or four small tables - we had to stand and wait to be able to sit and eat. This was certainly not a good experience with this hotel. We filed a police report; however, the Clanton police told us they would not plan to investigate because they don't look into theft on hotel properties, but would maintain the report. Go to Peach Park and then keep driving for your overnight stay. This is not the place. Also, it appears the Holiday Inn Express may have the same owner. So, stay there cautiously.
Hotel took out all refrigerators that had freezer compartments, replaced them with units with refrigerator only units. We need the freezer to refreeze our freezer packs for the next day. In the future we will stay only at hotels with freezers.
Dropped in to see if any rooms available. He said he would double check and said he did have one. It was a double queen room. We took it. It was on the ground level and very quiet. Could not hear our neighbors next door or above us and no outside noise. The young man that helped was fantastic and gave us great service. Great nights sleep! Breakfast in the morning was pretty good. A little something for everyone. I would highly recommend a stay here.
Convenient to the freeway and food, clean, very friendly, and accommodating. Our pet friendly room was clean and odor free. The TV was true hi-def and the wifi speedy. Plus it's next door to restaurants, or very near other choices too. We will stay here again as we return from Florida each spring.
Quiet room. We booked this place through trip advisor and requested a quiet room. When we arrived they had only 4 rooms left, and put us on the back side, second floor. It was very quiet for having a nearly full place! We found the room to be clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean (make sure you read instructions to operate the shower!) and the shower had good pressure. I would stay again!
Call first to make sure the door is unlocked so you can check in!!! We had to wait 20 minutes before someone unlocked the front door and finally checked us in! On the bright side, the room and decor is very nice. Food and selection of that is good! Very clean.
The room was clean & comfortable and decorated nicely. Good Wi-fi. The bed was very comfortable. Jaysen took our reservation and went out of his way to see that we were comfortable. Great place to stay. The breakfast area was very small and we had to get back on the road and weren't able to stay for it.
We stayed at. this motel on our way back home from Florida. It was a convenient location to where we were traveling and we had stayed there before. The check-in young fellow was very pleasant and helpful. The room itself was clean and adequate for our needs. The breakfast was just o.k. They were trying a new item, some kind of burrito which didn't appeal to us or it seemed to anyone else because no one took it. We would have liked more variety in the breakfast items.
We used Best Western points to stay overnight on our way north. the hotel is convenient - only a few hundred feet from I-65 interchange. We were greeted courteously and promptly and were in our room in just a few minutes. The rooms open into the parking lot, not a central hallway, so unloading was a breeze. The king room was spacious and well appointed. A second sink and counter in the bedroom area was handy. The bath area sink was not isolated from the room by a door or any other barrier, so it was more difficult to snooze while my wife did her thing at the vanity. The shower/lavatory room was tight but adequate. The breakfast was nice (we are a cereal & bagel people) but the dining area a little small. The road where the entrance is located is a pretty steep hill and local traffic uses it to some extent - the diesel pickups climbing the hill provide a fair amount of noise. Suggest you ask for a room on the back side - facing the Holiday Inn Express. All in all, a nice hotel.
best place to stay and relax. everything in bathroom clean and refreshing. Food for breakfast was sufficient and quick. Free extra pillows if needed. Location is ideal in the summer across from peach park restaurant.
Would stay here again. Altough i would ask for second floor as you can hear every step above first floor room. Good location and very friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable with a good breakfast. Also nice view as hotel sits high on hill. Has a nice park across the street also.
The hotel was clean and very quiet. Outdoor corridors suit our travel style. Room was large and very comfortable. Free Wifi worked well. Very close to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was not good for the items we prefer. There were no hot items except those you prepare yourself. Sausage sliders to heat, waffles etc. There were bagels but no bread. However we were able to eat and the price was very good. Would stay there again.
The rooms in this hotel need to have the "proper" maintenance performed with them. The room I had, the wash tub water faucet was replaced, but not with the correct part. Ergo, no water emits for shower usage. The room also had a very strong, musty and mildew odor. No excuse for this poor maintenance, just money and "professional l pride" lacking here!!!
Stayed there for business meeting in the area. Two rooms - two people and both of us liked the facilities. Many local restaurants in the area to select from plus the usual national chains. Desk clerks and housekeeping staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely book there again.
Advertised as pet friendly yet had to cross two rough rock ornamental strips (posted with numerous signs, "no pets in this area") to get to the public road and cross it, to the pet area. It was 50 yards to cross the rock strips or 150 yards to go around and not a SINGLE crosswalk. The pet area was across the public road which had semi's parked along it for the night. Not suitable for the wife to take the pet out at night. Breakfast was nearly entirely cheap microwaveable items, with boiled eggs that were of dubious age. I've stayed in cheaper motels with hot plate buffet style complimentary breakfast's that were of much higher quality. The room was clean, large enough and bed was great, but I would never stay here again largely due to the half hearted effort to make this only a 'pet tolerable' facility.
Hotel was clean and cost less than the Holiday Inn Express right next to it. The bed was comfortable. A good value for the price. The breakfast area is too small and crowded and the breakfast selection is pretty limited compared to some I've had at other hotels. No hot food other than a waffle maker.
Over priced for what it is however safe hotel, good staff, clean. If you need a place to stop that's pet friendly and clean this is good. Overpriced though for what you get - bed is midly comfy, our sink leaked and the breakfast is ok at best. Again safe and staff are good though.
This is a very good hotel. They were doing some updates to the property, but it did not effect any guests. We were very disappointed in the Breakfast, by far the worst we have ever encountered at any Best Western we have stayed in.
Hotel was being up-dated in the lobby area, but not messed up with construction debris. Hotel is just off I-65 in a nice noise free area with eating places close bye. I do think they need a bigger lighted sign where you turn to go up hill just past the Whataburger. Rooms are very clean with up to date décor and TV's have a fabulous picture on it. Wi Fi is fairly fast for a hotel but worked as advertised. Excellent place to stay for the money and we will stay there again.
Not a pet friendly hotel. They expect you to take your pet across the road to a park. There are signs all over the property warning you to not let your pet do it's business. Makes one feel less than welcome, after paying a $10.00 surcharge. I counted at least twenty warning signs which don't leave you feeling comfortable. If it wasn't for the desk lady I would have gone on to Greenville wher we usually stay and are ell accepted.
I am a repeat customer at this BW. Rooms are clean and they look rather new. Internet connections works. Plenty of easy-to-reach electrical outlets for laptops and such. Rooms are nicely sized with sitting area containing sofa and coffee table. Also a desk area. Will stay at this BW again.
We were fairly impressed with this hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was very quiet. Slept really well. Wish there would have been better restaurants in the area though. The free WIFI worked well, the lobby was clean and well kept. The free breakfast was just ok, basically just cereal, pastries, and microwave biscuits, nothing served hot. Will definitely stay here again....
I've stayed at several Best Westerns last 1 1/2 yrs and this by far is the BEST! The rooms are all being renovated and I was lucky to have one done. Best very comfortable w/their putting a Quilt Patch thick Mattress Cover giving it extra comfort. Very clean, reasonable rate and right off interstate. Jasin the Evening Clerk was very friendly, great with customers and Papa Johns Pizza delivers:)). I will recommend this BW to everyone as I know a lot who travel from FL up thru there and I will stay on my next trip as well. Highly recommend
Location was great as was service. Room were clean --- would recommend to travelers not wanting to veer off the main highway. There were exterior doors with parking right by your room. Breakfast was not so great but there's a Waffle House with good food across street. Not a huge variety of restaurants but there were some for dinner.
We usually stay at Best Western when we travel and have not been disappointed. This was a very nice hotel and we had a very pleasant stay. Room was comfortable and clean and staff was very cordial, pleasant and helpful.
Stayed here last year and it was exceptional. We thought the room was very comfortable and priced reasonably. This year our reservation got changed to a smoking room which was awful. Used 3 bottles of air freshener/odor killer and room still reeked. Definitely disappointed. Who has smoking rooms in 2015?
My king room was clean with lots of elbow room, well kept, comfortable bed and pillows. Adequate breakfast. I was stunned to find out that the hotel was first built in 1978 or 79. I thought it was fairly new!
After consulting reviews from Trip Advisor, I settled on this Best Western as a stopping point for a night on the way to Orange Beach. I have had very little experience with this chain, but the price was reasonable and the reviews made it seem like a good bet. We were terribly late showing up to meet our reservation. ..as in 2:30a.m. I had called ahead to let the clerk know we were running late. The nice fellow said not to worry, the reservation was guaranteed. So finally we arrive. The clerk at the night window was very pleasant and welcoming. She had us to our room very quickly. First floor around to the side. Parked in a space directly in front of our room, which was nice given how tired we were. The room was very nice for the rate. Very clean, linens crisp, fridge in the wall, microwave, flatscreen tv, two queen beds, perfectly appointed for a stopover night. The one negative over which I am sure the staff catches grief.....a smoking room with ashtrays and everything, even BW matches! We smoke, so that must be factored in, but if there was an unpleasantness to the room, it was the more than slight, but far from overwhelming cigarette smell. I guess I have become so used to not smoking inside, I now prefer nonsmoking rooms. Go figure. ANYWAY, for a smoking room, (which we did not smoke in) the odor seemed very well abated. Probably the best as I ever recall from 'the old days'; very minimal to us anyway. I recommend this hotel for its convenience, pleasant, accomadating and welcoming staff, extremely well maintained facilities, very clean and well kept rooms. We will gladly stay there again. For the price point, they do better than a lot of the 'pricier' chains we have experienced. Kudos to the Best Western of Clanton, AL.
Have stayed at this Hotel several times before. This time, felt the room to be cleaner, brighter & quite comfortable. Desk staff very friendly & helpful. However, I still have trouble with Southerners referring to me as "Sweetie" or "Hon" I guess the only person who should refer to me in that context is my Husband. I know they are just being hospitable.
Will never stay again!!! Did not like the outside room access. The breakfast area was extremely tiny and not much at all to choose from. We had other guests that camped outside of their room in lawnchairs smoking!! It was a very disappointing experience and not worth the money we paid at all.
