So their are some not good reviews about the experience at the competition in Brenham. They earned it. But Im telling you there is a very nice working machine at the Best Western. I got a lower price night of,, with app at front desk. Lady at desk was super polite and professional. Lady at morning desk was super nice and professional. Lady at the breakfast is the employee to be fought over for her amazing work ethic. she seals the deal. the breakfast lady was friendly and greeted EVERY single new attendee. She made sure the food bins were capacity and clean up, she made sure the tables were clear, and she moved around at a pace like a professional waitress that makes the most money in your favorite diner. So You are sure to have a super morning wake up and greeting here. Our room was a nice standard. Nice bed and AC worked. Pillows are a bit small... But thats not a deal really for me. Bathroom is nice, tv nice sound. I considered this a fair value as comparable to the overpriced of the other three with the free breakfast. Hows that. Its cheaper, Its friendlier, It well managed. And it also has a whole bunch of led lights that are bright all nite to keep your prized vehical on survellience. I liked all I saw and would highly recommend you choose this motel chain over any others for these features. Not the RITZ.... But it is the best deal and best experience out of all of Brenham. I read those competitor reviews and made my wise decison. You should also....
WE INJOYED OUR STAY AT BEST WESTERN IN BRENHAM. THE ROOM WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD AND PLENTY OF IT. SHERRY W. WAS SO HELPFUL AND KEPT THE DINNING ROOM VERY CLEAN AND WAS SO FRENDLY THAT WE FELT LIKE FAMILY. THE MANAGER SHERRY G. WAS ALSO VERY FRENDLY AND HELPFUL. MY WIFE AND I WILL DEFINITELY BE STAYING THERE EVERYTIME WE GO TO BRENHAM.
One of the better best western hotels that we have stayed in. Breakfast is great. (please offer alternative milk options for folks that are lactose intolerant). Clean rooms. Customer service is great!
Upon arrival, the staff was caring and attentive. We had changes to our reservation that they accommodated and helped with. The room was clean. Our beds were so comfortable. My kids couldn't wait to jump in the pool. It was well-kept and very clean. Not too much chlorine — sometimes that's overwhelming at hotel pools, but this one was perfect!! The breakfast was so good! Hot food and very clean dinning area. Honestly, the best part of our stay was the staff. If we needed extra towels, assistance with anything, they were so friendly. I never felt like a bother and they went above and beyond during our stay to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Very small town feel and hospitality. We have baseball tournaments again this summer that will bring us back this way and we will definitely be booking at this location!!
I have stayed at many Best Western's over the past year. This is by far the nicest on yet. I especially like the tile/composite flooring. It is so much cleaner than carpet.
The employees at the Front Desk are very nice and really helpful. The room was nice, but there was some dirt on the floor. There was a lot of highway noise so sleeping was a bit difficult. Breakfast options were good. The neighborhood was safe for running, which was great because there was no fitness room. There was a nice Mexican restaurant next door.
Everyone was so nice. the rooms were clean and cozy. Our 2 night stay was great! The facility was under some renovations but it didn't hurt the quality of our stay. The grounds were nice and well kept. The hotel was close by to restaurants, shopping a was just a few minute drive to the college.
The hotel was fitting. Convenient. Breakfast was good and early. Rooms were super clean. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were set up nice. Definitely will go back when working in the area.
Best Western in Brenham, Texas was a terrific stay. Great hot breakfast, excellent beds, very clean, staff is amazing. You feel like you're being welcomed home when you check in. It's a great location if you're visiting anywhere near Brenham or central texas. Only an hour from Houston and not much longer to Austin.
Rhonda Acremann was a god send. I had originally reserved a room at America's Best which was a dump. Between Rhonda and Allie they got me in a room directly behind where my son and grandkids rooms was. These are 2 of the very best employees I've ever dealt with at a hotel. They're awesome. Thanks Belinda Taylor
mattress was hard and my back hurt all day took advil to ease the pain the room was nice and clean the personnel were friendly don't eat the breakfast sausage gravy its not like momma fixed it oatmeal looked awful cant swallow it
Super nice staff and very clean room. Beds were comfortable. Room a bit dated but a great value. Would definitely stay again. We were late for breakfast but still told to come on down and get a plate. No hidden fees.
Never dissatisfied after 5 years! We love the location close to Kruse Village to visit family, employees are great, room is always clean. Free breakfast is plentious, good coffee, close to town & shopping & downtown area.
Great place stay staff is very helpful and friendly. Eating places close for almost everyone's taste buds. If interested Blue Bells factory close by to tour. Rooms clean and it was quiet when sleeping. Easy to get to and easy parking. Great place to spend a night.
I stayed here several years ago. So I decided to try it again on this trip. I felt very out of place and in the way. No problems checking in, but with every question, I received a blank stare or "I'm not sure". An extra blanket was met with " We don't have blankets'. I did not feel safe and felt anxious. Not at all a restful night's sleep. The room was clean, but outdated feeling. Will not be my first choice when I return to the area again.
Staff is always on point room service is excellent I've been staying her for 5 years now .it's been upgraded nicely staff always sees to all your needs rooms are emaculint and I've never had a problem I highly recommend this hotel
The front desk lady was super nice and friendly. And very accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The only draw back was there were no restaurants within the immediate area. So if you are with a vehicle my recommendation is to pick something up on your way there, else you will be at the mercy of delivery services
Definitely recommend Best Western! Hotel was in a great location near stores and restaurants. Staff was very pleasant and courteous. The room was very spacious and I was excited there was a blow dryer, iron and ironing board-YES!! Breakfast was phenomenal! You have to try it to know what I mean. From pancakes, omelettes, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, yogurt, fruit, cereal and bagels. The variety was scrumptious, my kids enjoyed it very much. You're making a great choice staying at the Best Western Inn in Brenham Texas, u will not be disappointed!
The property was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was maybe the best I've had in a motel -- cooked oatmeal (not instant) with add-ins (nuts, raisins, ...), scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancake making machine, ... Rooms are accessed directly from parking lot -- no hauling your suitcase down a long hallway. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Staff not the friendliest. They were not rude or anything. Just not as friendly as other Best Western staff from other places I have stayed. Our room was also next to the ice machine and as a result I was awoken both days at 6am. Over all the quality of the room was good.
Enjoyed my stay very much… Nice room and easy access location with very convenient parking. Fantastic shower, unlike many other hotels. Tasty breakfast, with great sausage, to get your day started strong.
I was cautious to travel due to COVID. I was pleased with the COVID cleanliness. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast had hot and cold options. The eggs and sausage was delicious.
Until I drove up to the hotel, I didn't realize it was an older building with outdoor entry doors to each room. When I saw that, I thought, "I'm stuck now for the night!" However, the room was very clean and very quiet for both the nights I spent there. Front desk people were accommodating. I left too early each day to take advantage of the breakfast. But the Internet connection was good. Most important to me: It was quiet. Bed was comfortable, all facilities worked just great. Overall very good experience!
We stayed here as a family visit for a few days and unfortunately we were underwhelmed. The pros were that the room was clean and the shower had great water pressure and a great shower head. Beyond that it very much felt like a motel 6. It's along a highway so lots of noise on the highway side. I was also told that the breakfast in the morning was not very good with rubbery eggs. I will say that I didn't expect a whole lot as it was cheaper but I did think it would be a little nicer. If you want a slightly nicer place that doesn't feel like motel 6 then I'd suggest the hampton inn. However, if your looking to save a little money then this is a good place as long as you don't mind the motel feel and being next to a highway.
Stayed at the motel for two nights - other family members also stayed at the motel for two nights. The beds are hard - The pillows turn to rocks by the middle of the night and the Road noise from the highway is awful, even when running the AC fan all night to try to cover the street traffic. After 2 nights all of us were beat and ready to leave. Impossible for us to actually get any rest during our stay.
This location was very nice. It was my first time staying at a Premier location. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was a notch above regular Best Western hotels. Its only a short drive to stores and restaurants. I would love to return when we are not on the COVID19 precautions to see how the breakfast is.
Cost vs value we couldn't ask for much more. We came to town to pass a few days with family who live there. Spent most of our time hanging by the pool. Had a great time. Considering this was during the corona threat, special thanks to the staff, who were extreemly conscientious.
Hotel in the right area - beds comfortable - staff in office and lobby always cordial, easy access to highways, great parking, clean throughout. If we had to make a comment, the room cleaners were not thorough - twice I had to find the cleaning staff and replenish toilet paper - paper cups left on counter - coffee cups not cleaned and coffee maker not cleaned. Breakfast food good and wholesome - ample supply and staff checked it regularly when patrons in and out. We are Expedia Members and we be sure to advise them that this is a great hotel for most needs in the Brenham area
Staff is very friendly, rooms are clean. Water pressure & hot water was phenomenal. Breakfast was better than sooo many other hotels I've stayed at. I would definitely suggest Best Western over a Choice Hotel anyday!
The hotel was clean and the rooms were decent. Mattress was actually firmer that I usually find at motels, which was nice. The biggest negative was the road noise that hindered sleep as I'm a light sleeper. If I had earplugs it would have been totally fine.
We always have a great stay at BW in Brenham. Room is good with comfortable bed. Breakfast is always delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful when needed. The BW is our choice when we visit in Brenham.
Good location. Close to concert venue. Easy to find Bed was very comfortable. Was a one night stop over for concert at 4Star Bar and Grill and Concert Hall on our way to see friends and family in Dallas. We will be back. Clean. Friendly. Convenient. Used my points. Easy.
All was up to par as with any BW, only when entering the room I was thinking someone with asthma might be taken aback due to the possibility of the carpet overwhelming the air in the room. All expected amenities and nice bath linens in the room with a very comfortable bed, large TV, fridge WITH FREEZER, YAY! gotta have it! A large room with a sofa was nice.
Rooms are clean, people are friendly and curteous. Coffee is excellent for Hotel Coffee. I appreciate fast check in, knowledgable staff, and a good breakfast ... not just bagel and coffee. Rooms are quiet; everything works. The water does not take very long to get hot.
Quality hotel for the price. Pleasant staff. Not only close to good restaurants, but also the Blue Bell factory. This was the second time our group has stayed here while visiting the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas.
Brenham BW property is in a quaint older town that has one of the best, if not the best creameries in the United States. All was up to par as with any BW, only when entering the room I was thinking someone with asthma might be taken aback due to the possibility of the carpet overwhelming the air in the room. All expected amenities and nice bath linens in the room with a very comfortable bed, large TV, fridge WITH FREEZER, YAY! gotta have it! large room with sofa was nice. wery welcoming looking place as well!
At check-in, they greet you like an old friend. Housekeeping is great, the pool was sparkling, every time you see an employee they smile and greet you. The coffee was hot and fresh even at check-in (nice touch!), the maintenance person was here and there taking care of little things, and you can tell! Way less maintenance issues than I see at the myriad of hotels I travel to yearly. Breakfast was perfect, wifi was fast and had a strong signal. Location is so convenient.
Rooms were clean, A/C worked great, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay again without question. Great breakfast, Sherry makes sure of that, but other staff members were kind and helpful as well. I would recommend this place to anyone.
The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were nice. The hotel doesn't have a hot tub nor do they offer waffles at breakfast but my overall satisfaction with the hotel was good. Would recommend staying here and the price was great as well/.
My and my boyfriend went to a wedding nearby. Was able to check in a bit earlier with no issues. Offered many things. Walmart within 5 minutes from hotel. Cute little town. Very clean rooms. Definitely will come back again soon.
Check-in took 20-25 minutes while waiting for others to check-in. Apparent "system" issues showing reservations both cancelled and active! No rooms on ground floor and no elevator. Although non-smoking, there were several smokers standing outside the first floor rooms smoking and flipping cigarette buts into the parking lot. Room smelled stale, likely a water or moisture problem. Stain on sofa right where someone wet their pants. TV flickered off-on. Very tiny bathroom. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Friendly service. Clean rooms. Excellent location. I would recommend this place if you're coming to Brenham. Its only minutes to everything. Parking lot is a little small. Wifi was great. Watched Netflix with no problems.
I had made my reservation on Booking.com and check-in was easy. The lobby was nice and modern looking. At this point I should say that this is a MOTEL, not a hotel. All of the doors face parking. Okay, the second we opened our door, the odor hit you that we knew there was a water issue. We never took our shoes off so I do not know if the ugly carpet was wet or not. There was water damage to the ceiling above the show and it looked as if they had just painted over it . The grout around the bathtub was done properly either and you could see the black mold underneath. Overall the room just felt unclean. The next morning we had an early breakfast the was great. A yogurt machine with dried fruits and grains. Biscuits and sausage gravy, a pancake machine , mini omelettes, FRESH FRUIT. Of course, juices and cereals, coffee and water. The location is okay. It's about a mile and a half past their Wal-Mart , Chili's and other shopping and restaurants on Hwy 290 E. There were quite a few work trucks at this motel and quite a few workers at breakfast. If I had been a single woman it might have made me very nervous.
The wife booked this hotel and I was worried to be honest . We haven't stayed at a motel style hotel in a while so It seemed sketchy to me.. it wasn't! Pool area was nice and we had two out of my three girls w me and an infant. Ac was super cold rooms clean . Help was super nice and the breakfast was great and had a lot of options.
We were pleased with our stay. Was able to get us a handy cap room. Beds were big enough & gave AARP discount. Yeah. Staff at desk were very pleasant. Was to tired after late baseball tournament to go have breakfast
We spent a single night here and found it clean and comfortable. The bed was firm but good and the air conditioner kept the room cool. It appeared that the bathroom had been recently redone and was very nice. We will stay here again when in Brenham.
We had to ask them every day to clean our or ask more towels, hand towels & face cloth . The breakfast was the pits. The eggs were cold biscuits were hard as a rock food was just the pits my wife could'n eat any thing
We were here for a 2 night stay. Outside curb appeal was tidy and clean. Room was very clean. Beds were comfortable and we slept well. Staff was friendly and efficient. Complimentary breakfast was hot and plentiful. We will stay here when we are back in this area.
Clean and convenient, could use more options for complimary breakfast. Room was clean. Location was convenient. Snacks in lobby available for purchase in lobby is a great asset for my stay. Reservations were made for this establishment online with priceline.com.
Front desk staff, Sharon, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable for our stay. Ricci, always smiling and friendly , helped us with coffee and breakfast needs. Breakfast is included with room.
Very nice stay, easy check in and out, breakfast area nice and clean. Only issue is traffic noise, if that bothers you. From previous reviews I read, I brought ear plugs, wore one, and was fine. Nice small place.
This hotel is conveniently located to many activities and points of interest in the Brenham area. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are well maintained and immaculately clean and the complimentary breakfast is enough to make a cowboy weep! When booking, I would recommend asking for a room on the back of the building as the front can be a bit noisy with highway sounds. Nice pool, although we were there a little too early in the season to take advantage of it.
I stayed at the Best Western Inn of Brenham, TX 1 night on March 14, 2019 on a quick trip to attend annual Plant Sale at the Round Top Herbal Forum. This hotel is conveniently located at see things around the Brenham area, including Festival Hill in Round Top. The hotel building itself is pretty old and was built in the old "motel" style with hotel rooms opening to the outside. The building is well maintained with a nice pool on the back side. Parking is located on both front side & back side of the building. The hotel has two stories and there is no elevator, so you should request a ground-level room is you have difficulty climbing stairs or carrying your luggage up & down stairs. Also be aware that the hotel is located on the side of Hwy 290, so I highly recommend that you request a room on the back side of the hotel. Rooms on the front side, which faces the highway, have loud traffic noise all night long due to the constant truck traffic. Odd numbered rooms are located on the highway side; even numbered rooms are on the back side. Offsetting those two negatives, the hotel rooms themselves are very large, with remodeled bathrooms, very comfortable beds, mini fridge & microwave. The rooms were exceptionally clean. Hotel and rooms have free high-speed WIFI that was quite reliable during my short visit. This hotel also has a very good free full breakfast buffet that opens at 5:30AM. The buffet had a nice assortment of food, including chafing dishes with large fluffy biscuits, sausage patties, gravy, cheese omelets and pancakes, plus oatmeal, cold cereal, bagels and toast, juice, milk, hot tea and very good regular & decaf coffee in medium roast & medium dark roast. The front desk & buffet staff were friendly & helpful. Overall I would recommend this hotel with the caveat of getting a room on back side of the hotel & on the ground floor if you have any mobility issues.
The hotel structure and room were good. I was on the backside of hotel so I didn't notice any highway noise that others have mentioned. The room was in good order other than a broken entry handle. I had to make very sure that the lock was activated because the handle tended to hang limply and was sketchy about latching. Bed was comfortable, heater/air conditioner was not loud and functioned well. Part of the unfortunate aspect is that the hotel is inhabited by a lot of workers. Now I don't have a problem with workers at all but it's a little unnerving to come back to the hotel, alone, in the night and find half a dozen young men sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck, blaring music with a couple of cases of beer in front of them. Also unfortunate was that there were work men in the breezeway which accessed my room, sanding a wooden door. There was sawdust everywhere on the stairs and hand rails which ended up on my luggage. The workers were nice and so were the workers that I happened to encounter. I hung the do not disturb sign out the first day but after that, the room was never vacuumed (check in 2-21-19, check out 2-24-19). The bath tub was never cleaned. The ice bucket was never emptied of melted water. The doors of the rooms open to the outdoors and while in the room one night, I realized that is left my phone charger in my vehicle. So I went and got it. When I got back to the room, the key card would not open the door although it had functioned just hours before. I called the front desk on the night of Saturday, February 23rd, 2019. A woman answered the phone and I told her the situation. I was in shorts and a t-shirt in windy temps of around 40-50 degrees. She did not apologize for the inconvenience and just said “So you want me to bring you a key?” I said “Yes, please”. Without another word, she just hung up. When she showed up, she did not greet me in any way, just took my key from my hand and tried it. It didn't work, she tried the one she had brought and it worked. She handed it to me and turned to leave... I was left with the impression that it was much more of an inconvenience for her than she felt it was for me. So next morning, I head to the front counter to check out (as scheduled) and there were three people there talking to each other. One broke off his part of the conversation and checked me out. Overall, I was very disappointed in the dismal attitude of the employees there and the lack of “giving a darn” about the kind of service they are providing. While the hotel may be all right for a one nighter, I will not be staying there again. Too many good hotels within nearly walking distance of this one to settle for this kind of stay.
The Best Western Inn in Brenham TX was a great experience for me. When you walk into the room They where clean with a fresh smell. The bed where very comfortable and I slept like a baby. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. I've already told my friends about my experience. I recommend the best Western inn in Brenham TX.
I truly enjoyed my stay at the Best Western last month. The room was immaculate and the bed was so comfortable, it was almost impossible to get out of. I think my favorite part was the breakfast. I loved the freshness & variety. Great front desk customer service as well. I'm looking forward to my next visit this month. Curtis Von
We had a nice, short stay here. Arrived after midnight, so I don't think the desk staff was super excited about having her lobby work interrupted. But she got us checked in. She didn't tell us where the room was, however, so we wandered around a bit more than we should have. (Turns out all the even numbered rooms are on the back of the hotel.) The room had everything we needed. The real highlight here was breakfast. One of the better hotel breakfasts I've had in quite some time. Great selection.
We stayed here for a couple of days. Parts of it are currently being remodeled or updated. Our king room was nice with a comfortable bed and a couch with a coffee table. Water pressure and hot water were good. The flat screen TV had plenty of channels, but some cable movie stations were pay per view. Breakfast came with hot and cold choices. It seemed we'll tended. They also sell candy/snacks/drinks/etc. by the desk for a reasonable price. Wifi was good, but it was down for a little while. My only complaint would be the noise. It's a motel with one side facing a busy highway full of noisy trucks. There is a side that does not face the highway, so it has to be much quieter on the other side. If you sleep lightly, ask for a room in the back.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Well stocked with towels. The breakfast offered many choices which was appreciated since we are gluten free. There was plenty of parking near the room and the parking lot was well lit. Staff was friendly and helpful. We'll be staying here again next year.
Friendly and caring staff. They have always provided excellent service for me as I stay here several times through out the year due to my job. I appreciate Joane helping me during my last stay, and Tom (I believe that is his name) he is wonderful too, as well as the other ladies.
I live in Brenham and had family coming in on Christmas Day, staying for just over a week. They told me over and over again how great this motel was. Nothing fancy, but clean, efficient and friendly. They enjoyed their hot breakfast every morning of the stay. They will definitely want to stay here again and again under this management. Very glad I've already booked a room for more family coming in soon!
The staff is so friendly! Breakfast was great, not a typical free breakfast, lots of different choices , amazing quality. Everything is provided in your room; coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave.
Friendly staff greeted us at Best Western in Brenham. Quiet room location on first floor, comfortable bed and very clean. Breakfast had real scrambled eggs which was nice. There was also bacon, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, fresh fruit, oatmeal and more. Very nice place to sty.
This hotel just renovated its front lobby and breakfast aarea. Did a wonderful job, its beautiful. Would stay again next time I am in the area.Front desk staff are kind. All around experience was great.
A pleasant place to stay in Brenham. "Standard" rooms, very clean, abundant parking, pleasant and helpful staff. I've stayed there several times and always enjoy it. It's on the main highway, rather than downtown, which has its advantages and disadvantages, but I like it.
Spent a weekend out in Brenham and got a fairly good deal at one of the best rated places in town. Arrived late after work and was greeted by a friendly lady who seemed new, as she tried to charge me on an already prepaid rate. Was pleased to hear breakfast was served before 7AM on weekends, as I planned to get early starts both days. Room was pretty clean but had its quirks. Some mold on one corner of where the wall met the tub and under/behind the bed could've been cleaned better but it sufficed. Sheets were pretty old and tired looking, especially the throw. Don't understand hotels that have those bags for the "clean remote" or links under the toilet seat lid to "prove" they cleaned it-doesn't mean a thing to me honestly. There was also a weird looking air freshener that just had crystals sitting in it right next to the smoke alarm. Outside there were several wasps nests and large spider webs that could've been cleaned up, especially along the stairwells, but guess that's a hard Texas problem to fix. Breakfast had a nice selection and even though the hotel was definitely full, I had no problem with available seating. Just my second time seeing one of those pancake machines! All in all a pretty solid stay. Most of this review is just quips about my personal preferences, but this is probably one of your best bets in town for the average traveler.
The rooms were very clean and look like they had been remodeled. The carpet was clean, the bathroom fixtures looked new and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast in the moring had hot items and a good selection of yogurts and other brekfast foods. The staff was helpful and friendly.
There is a quaint small town on Hwy. 290 just up a ways from Houston that has one of the beast creameries for ice cream in the United States and there is a very nice Best Western property there with friendly helpful folks to take care of your needs with nice large rooms that have all the amenities expected in a high grade hotel in the room along with a large screen TV, nice bath linens, comfy bed, Fridge, micro-wave, etc. Has a sort of nostalgic touch to it, so it seemed to me. Even though you are right on a busy highway, room is quiet to outside noise.Stop on in, reasonably priced! Check out the Blue Bell Creamery and neat old homes in the area.
We found accommodations quite comfortable and convenient. We enjoyed our stay but thought that the rate was slightly higher than what we expected. We speculated that the rate was higher because of the antiques show that was going on at the same time nearby.
Hotel is upgrading and it shows. Had a very nice stay but would like to see them consider making entire hotel Non smoking or move those rooms to one end away from the non smoking rooms. overall was a really nice stay and the pool was cute.
My husband and I stayed there on 6/16/2018. When getting ready to retire to sleep I found stain on my pillows and sheets. The young lady at the front brought us knew ones. The following morning I told Alma and another girl I guess who was new and they seamed less concerned saying they would talk to management and she couldn't do anything. Never heard from the manager; called corporates they contacted saying we soiled the sheet. Management is horrible never tried to fix the problem or come see while I was still there they waited till I left to go check the sheets in the room. Will never stay there again and if I were y'all I wouldn't either. Here are pics to prove it. They don't even deserve a 1 star.
The place was remarkably quiet for being on a main highway but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a nice start for one's day and the pool was clean and inviting. Certainly not a high-end hotel but a very restful place to stay.
The Inn had wonderful rooms, the beds were oh so great, plenty of room , very nice. Great location next to freeways, quick access to restaurants, shopping, and the Hospital! Employees were great and very helpful. There was a very nice breakfast and they had donuts too! We will stay again. thanks
We had not realized and we were not informed that we were booked in a smoker's room and we are non-smokers. There were no other vacancies within the Best Western to transfer to another room and no other vacancies at surrounding hotels. Every possession we brought into the room smelled of smoke. It was torturous as a non-smoker. Never again will we stay at a Best Western hotel!
Newly updated, clean room. Great staff & breakfast. Good location. Caring staff. We had no issues whatsoever. Will stay there again. Beds comfortable. Plenty of towels & pillows. Nice pool area & breakfast area.
This was a great place to stay. Our focus was the Round Top antique week . We were in our room very little. It was much larger than expected, clean with all the amenities we needed. It was right next to a major highway yet we slept soundly not bothered by any noise which was a nice surprise. We will stay here next year again!
Great Hotel will stay there any time I'm in the area friendly staff helpful staff great breakfast nice rooms comfortable beds if you don't already have the rewards program get it it's a great opportunity to get free nights wherever you stay at a Best Western
We have stayed here many times throughout the years and this time we noticed that the rooms are getting a little shabby. The bed was slightly sagging, the shower didn't drain well, and the tub looked like someone had thrown rocks at it-all chipped up and stained. I think they are due for a re-model soon.
I am a Best Western Diamond elite member and you would not believe how they treated me at the Best Western in Brenham, Texas! Best Western promotes their point system and how good it is! Well being at the top level of this point system has proven to be a nightmare for me . When I tried to redeem some of the points towards a 2 week stay, I had enough points for 7 days. Corporate set me up for the first 7 days of 13 to be for my points. I was to check out and back in for the remainder of my stay. When you check in they swiped my credit card as usual and Saturday was my seventh day. I received a copy of my bill showing that I owed $0 dollars because my points had covered my first 7 days. Much to my surprise on Monday i find out they (Brenham- Best Western ) had charged my credit card $257.00 ! I had earned my points and after confronting the manager (Charlotte Guerra) she thought it was no big deal ! I then had to call corporate and get them involved to get this resolved.$251.00 was returned to me more than a week later! So I had a rocky start to my second week there . I was there for a 2 week intense business class for my career. Thursday morning I go from my room to their breakfast and when i return to get my books out of the room - I can't get into my room! The key does not work, I go to the front desk and they issue me new keys. The new keys do not work ! I go back to tell them and they tell me I do not know how to use the keys! Really a diamond elite member -too dumb to use the keys! They try and after no success and house keeping key does not work , they decide to call in Maintenance. I waited for over a hour - missing a hour of my class that morning. I got first hand view of management that morning , they could have cared less for my situation - they were more worried about yesterdays book and 37 cents the books were off! Noon that day during my break from class I called and complained to Charlotte Guerra (manager ) of Brenham's Best Western and she finally gave me ( by word of mouth) my last 2 nights there as compensation ,for my 2 problems (as at that point i had not received my money back from the billing situation). So my surprise came on Friday morning at 6 am when i go to check out! My bill was overcharged by $80.00 ! I was headed to a 6 hour test and the manager was not there so I decided to wait till after my test to try to get to the bottom of this billing mistake. I had to hurry to catch my plane back to New York after the test and it being Friday I would wait to call the manager -Charlotte Guerra on Monday . You can imagine my surprise when on Sunday I go to see if they had not corrected my $80.00 overcharge and see that Best Western of Brenham had charged my card not once on Thursday but twice ! The day before I even checked out ! First that day was for $508.44 and the second charge was for $251.00 ! This was on Thursday - the day i got locked out of my room and missed a hour of my class! Just another billing mistake they say ! That money was for Christmas gifts for my grand kids ! Today it is 3 weeks later and still no refund ! Grand kids are still waiting for their Christmas gifts ! So i recommend to stay away from Brenham Texas -Best Western - unless you have deep pockets !
We came to town for our grandson's graduation ceremony and spent the night here. This is our second stay and we found the motel to be just as good as our first stay a year or so ago. Our room was spacious, very clean and quite comfortable. Perfect for an overnight stay. Our room was on the side away from Hwy 290 so road noise was not the least bit noticeable. Check in was quick and the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this property and will most certainly stay here again when the occasion arises.
We picked this hotel based on it's location to the special occasion we were in Brenham. We liked the reviews and what we saw on the web site as compared to other hotels in the area. Also the evening hotel clerk James was very helpful when we called to make our reservations. We were disappointed he did not work weekends so we could thank him.
First time here while working in the area. This was a great Best Western. Super clean, really nice people, good breakfast, comfy...nothing bad to say. They even gave me a sack of goodies with a map of the town and local places to visit. Although I did not have time to sight-see, I certainly appreciate the thought. Highly recommend and will be back.
Consistently a great place to stay. Room is comfortable and spacious. Breakfasts are delicious. It is a safe location that is very convenient for us. We will be back! We always stay at Best Westerns unless there is none where we are going.
We have stayed in this hotel twice in 13 months. It is very very clean and the bed is extremely comfortable which translates to a great night's sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a good breakfast with a lot of variety in what they had to offer. What can I say?.....the room was large, comfortable and clean. What more can you ask for. Also the price was right!!
I have stayed here multiple times in tbe last theee years. It's a great value with amazing service and a wonderful breakfast and pool. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are impeccably clean! I'll stay here every time I come to this area!
We stayed here and had no problems. Our room was clean, the mattress is comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. All of the employees were very nice and made us feel very welcome. I would recommend this place to anyone.
The hotel is at a great location and just right for ease of check in and departure. The staff was friendly and we will be back. Comfortable beds with a quiet atmosphere. Temperature was very cold outside and the heater worked great!
Stayed at this BW property in Brenham, TX in the motor hotel style of building. Desk person James was extremely helpful and professional in all aspects of arrival and check in. Building and rooms in great condition and the only thing I noticed was that the carpet is beginning to show wear in my room. not much, just a flattening out. Room was nice, large and comfortable, fridge (did not have a freezer - Minus 5 points), micro wave, coffee maker, large TV, ironing board and iron, nice comfortable bed, A/C heat worked well. Breakfast was fairly standard, bacon and eggs with biscuit and gravy, other standards of breads rolls, and waffle available. Nice cozy place even though next to Highway 290 it is pretty quiet, stop here for a good location to rest and explore the area, and don't forget to schedule a trip to Blue Bell Creameries just down the street in town. Home made Vanilla the top requested flavor!
This is not a bad hotel however this hotel is not up to up to Best Western standards. Room smells very musty, mold in the shower, the refrigerator was not cooling properly and got some of our food all wet. Coffee pot switch did not work. The online check in also did not work or the employees did not know how to use it. I called to double check and they initially told me that they were booked up and did not have a room for me. Then after further discussion they realized their error.
Great value.....Great Staff....Clean Room...Older motel type Best Western, but well maintained. Room and bathroom somewhat small but met my needs. Breakfast good.. all employees friendly and helpful. Plan to stay at location weekly for the next couple of months.
This is a nice hotel for the price point, location and cleanliness. The property was clean and well maintained. A modest hotel but a very nice place to stay. It has a very safe feeling and plenty of security cameras around for both the hotel itself and the parking lot. Even had a dog walking area (did not bring my dogs but was well maintained). I would certainly stay here again
After a long day, we were relieved that this place was so easy to find. James was so kind to welcome us with smiles and happiness. He made check-in so EASY. Our non-smoking room was very clean (I mean even the corners were clean! and....no strange odors!) The recommended restaurant, Sealand, was perfect for us. We slept well even though the room was on the front, we did not notice the highway noise. The breakfast included a variety of items.
I have stayed her a few times and it's a great hotel. Very clean, great breakfast, nice staff and it's in a good spot. I will continue to stay atvthis location anytime I am in or around the brenham area.
Stayed here as it was closest to Round Top. Room was clean, happy to have a refrigerator and microwave. Check in staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast and coffee were good. Would stay there again, if I'm ever back in that area.
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western in Brenham! The rooms were very nice & ours was on the backside overlooking their very nice swimming pool!! They served breakfast starting at 5:30 am & it was a wonderful big breakfast!!!! We are definitely keeping them on our list of places to stay, when we are in the area again!! And if you're visiting while Round Top is going on, it's only about 21 miles away!
Hotel was clean. Nothing fancy, but clean. Breakfast was good - eggs, bacon, waffle machine, choice of cereal and pastries. Again, nothing fancy but good tasting food. Staff both checking in and checking out were very pleasant and helpful. I would stay there again.
This hotels owner and staff go above and beyond to suite your needs. It doesn't matter if it's your missing toothpaste or Cat5 cable. They were always willing to resolve any issue.. and they offer a discount while eating at certain restaurants in town. Free gym membership.
We evacuated the Houston area due to Hurricane Harvey. The staff was wonderful at Best Western Inn of Brenham. The rooms were great! The beds are very comfortable. Was wonderful to have a microwave and fridge in the room. They offered a great variety of food at Breakfast. But the best of the best was the staff!!! They are awesome!
Management tries hard to keep the standards high with this hotel and stand out among it's competition with restaurant discounts, fresh baked cookies, fast internet, decent breakfast and loyal long term, down home, friendly staff. Stayed for 5 weeks but colleagues of mine had very mixed impressions with the rest of the top hotels in the area in terms of business internet and quality of hotel construction.
The friendliest and most helpful hotel staff, always ready to help with restaurants in the area as well as with local events and points of interest. If you have any problems with the room, internet or whatever, the front desk is very quick to have the problem resolved or move to another room if necessary.
I stay at Best Western hotels over 200 days a year and this is the best "motel" Best Western I've stayed at. It is on par with Best Western Plus. The only knock is breakfast could be better. The internet signal was strong and the room was clean and comfortable.
I had 4 rooms and 2 were uninhabitable, they gave me two more rooms both worse than the first. Cancelled one room and tried one more. It was miserable. Cancelled that room and had to sleep 10 of my family members in a single and double room. Completely ruined the end of our road trip.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Inn. The man that checked us in (possibly was the manager) was very friendly. He offered suggestions on things to do and then offered us fresh baked cookies. The pool needed to be cleaned, there was a lot of bugs in it, but being an outdoor pool I'm sure it is hard to keep it clean.
Nice, cozy room. Not far from Brenham mainstreet and other small towns. We also visited Round Top and Chappel Hill. Both are, much like Brenham, picturesque and lovely. The hotel is next to the highway, but this was no problem at night.
We were visiting family in the area and need a reasonable room. Location is off the highway . Check in was a breeze . Room was adequate for our expectations. This was a good find for our family considering we needed something in this proximity.
My stay was extraordinary. The level of service was out of this world. I have stayed at more expensive hotel chains and not received the level of personalized service. Originally I was supposed to check out after 1 night and stay at a hotel closer to the Houston airport but after the wonderful experience here I cancelled the other reservation and stayed the second night at this hotel. I didn't mind the extra drive the next day at all. They have a wonderful staff and the hotel is nicely maintained. Only advice is that housekeeping be a little more attentive to smaller details in their cleaning but it is not a major thing that would be a deal breaker for me. I would stay here again and again.
The staff were so friendly. The homemade cookies were such a treat. Then one of the employees handed us a tour packet he had made up! It was very helpful. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were clean. Nice Breakfast.
We stayed 2 nights me my wife two children and my mother. We had a good experience. Awesome pool great handicap restroom and the cable was the best I have seen at a hotel overall great experience only complaint was ants in the restroom ,but all else was great
clean rooms, nice service, full breakfast- overall nice experience- will stay here again. The pool was refreshing and there were cookies upon arrival! Front desk service was accommodating on room changes and gave helpful restaurant advice and even a discount card for area restaurants.
Checked in around 3:30PM and the A/C was OFF on the weekend before July 4th! This is Texas and it is VERY hot in July. My room didn't cool off until around 1AM! Didn't bother talking to the front desk because we didn't get back to our room until late and we were tired and hot from a day touring Brenham!
This hotel is a regular stop for us. The property is clean and nice-nothing fancy, but he beds are comfortable. My only complaint is the makeshift closet-I guess most guests don't stay for 2 weeks but there is limited space to store clothing! The staff is welcoming as well.
Always a good stay with great breakfasts. We always stay at BW in Brenham unless it is not available. The location is convenient for all we have to do there. Best memory is arriving just as cookies were coming out of the oven. Talk about fresh!
Did not like this hotel for several reasons. Check in was difficult as only one staff member there and she had to answer the phone, go to help some other staff member and we had to wait. Asked for a late check out due to a funeral at 3:00pm, they did not notate it and the next morning was asked why we hadn't checked out at 11:10. Bed was very hard, not extra blanket, which was needed. Breakfast below par!! Will not return. We were there for a family funeral
Pros: Overall quality of hotel, cleanliness, amenities Cons: Breakfast, dim lighting in room and bathroom, dead bugs in the overhead light fixture Breakfast: It was a typical prefabricated breakfast "buffet" for this class of roadside hotel, but the execution was below average. I realize that this breakfast food is what it is, but how it's prepared can still make a huge difference, and we have stayed at roadside hotels that do a good job with it. This hotel needs to pay more attention to breakfast. Day one was so-so with sausage and bacon, but they ran out of sausage early and put in the bacon, sliced so thin you could almost see through it. Scrambled eggs and biscuits were edible. The sausage gravy, oatmeal, and even the waffle batter were all too thin. The waffle batter wasn't mixed well and came out with some water separated from the mix, and it did not make a complete waffle using the provided measuring cups. Also, the waffle maker sat at a tilt while cooking and made the waffle uneven and the batter spill out; I was careful thereafter to make sure it was level even though the cooker was not settled all the way into its "stop" position. The waffler maker needed cleaning from the spills. I had a muffin from the selection of bread and muffins; it was dry. Juice, milk, yogurt cups, and sugary cereals helped round out the offerings. Day two was about the same, but the premade, foil-wrapped bacon-egg-potato tacos had suffered far too long in an oven and were tough and dry: inedible. The mixed-fruit bowl was about at the end of freshness; the same fruit the next day looked completely unappetizing and had turned colors. Day three was about like day one, with diced potatoes (dry and mealy), premade omelettes that were surprisingly acceptable, and again, biscuits. And again, the sausage gravy and oatmeal were thin. The waffle batter did not look thin but it still took a bit over one measuring cup of batter to make a full waffle, as I found out when the first effort came out very skimpy. Housekeeping: The policy as stated in a card placed on the bed is not to change sheets during your stay. I don't have a problem with that, but on day two, they didn't straighten the bed very well and left the pillows piled up as they had been when we got up that day. The room should look made up and inviting when you come in after a day of running around. Otherwise, the housekeeping was competent. Other than breakfast, the hotel was quite nice. Room amenities: Soap and shampoo dispensers in shower. Large TV, Dish network. Fridge, about 3-4 feet tall, with freezer. Microwave. Coffee maker. Iron. Toiletries. It was a spacious king room with a sofa, coffee table, office chair, and desk. Wifi was acceptable. Everything in the room was in excellent condition; the AC was quiet and had a plastic shield over the vents to keep the curtains from billowing out. The mattress was medium-firm, possibly a pillow-top (I forgot to look), and comfortable for our tastes. The entire hotel and parking lot were clean, in good repair, and well kept. All-day coffee in the lobby was fresh and tasty enough, and they put out tea bags, cocoa powder, and cookies as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke fluent Texan. Another nice touch: A number of restaurants, including chains and nice local ones downtown but not the cafe next door, ofter 10 percent off meals if you show the hotel business card stamped with the operator's name. Based on Google Earth imagery, the hotel was built between 1995 and 2003, so it's at least 14 years old and being very nicely maintained. Even the sidewalks look clean as though they get power-washed often. Conclusion: Really wish I could give it a five star, but the breakfast brings it down. I'd go with 4.5 stars for the hotel and 1 star for breakfast. Four stars overall.
And in general – and all around good value. Specifics: 1) Front desk: very nice; smooth check in. Allowed me into the room a few minutes before three, their stated check in time. 2) Room: super clean, cool upon entry. All of the standard amenities: microwave, coffee maker, small fridge, large TV. 3) Beds: comfortable, slept fine, plenty of pillows (much appreciated). 4) Internet: easy to remember password, signal strength somewhat weak but no biggie. 5) Breakfast: potatoes, eggs, oatmeal (with toppings), biscuits and country gravy. Also four different types of cereal (Cheerios only choice that seemed adult). Waffle, various breads for toasting; fruit, yogurt. Pleasant dining area. Very much appreciated the absence of Fox news ruining my otherwise pleasant experience. (Thank you sincerely.) 6) Pool, other amenities: I checked in on the afternoon of July 3 – needless to say, the pool was one happening place. Tons of kids and families in general seemed to be very much enjoying themselves. (However, noise was never a problem.) Also, I saw washers and dryers in a space that seemed safe and secure, as opposed to tucked away and hidden. I met family here for dinner. The evening I arrived, the person at the front desk invited me to use the breakfast room for our dinner space so long as we cleaned it up, which of course we were more than happy to do. (I was traveling with my dog and accordingly, did not want to leave her at the hotel for fear she might start barking and bother people. Eating in the breakfast room was a perfect solution; appreciated the accommodation.) 7) Check out: again, another accommodation that was greatly appreciated. Allowed me to stay until 1 PM. Was offered an apple on my way out the door and told that if I had the time to wait, cookies were coming out of the oven shortly. 8) Bathroom: as stated above, shower was worthy of superlatives. Plenty of hot; wonderfully sufficient pressure. Nice. Last but not least, I just want to add how much I appreciate having an affordable option such as this one that allows me to travel with my elderly dog. Thanks.
room abut musky smelling- a/c was not on when we entered room. everything else lovely, especially breakfast room lobby was very nice & the people at front desk were very courteous & helpful. Breakfast was of good quality
Staff very helpful. They called with 30 minutes after departure that we had left items & they offered to ship them! And double wrap sheets are also nice touch! Right off freeway so convenient lots nearby
This was an average stay. There was not anything to make it stand out as far as staff or quality. My husband is disabled and had a very hard time getting in and out of the pool because there were no hand rails.
We stayed here for one night while we scouted out the area for a potential move. We found the rooms very clean and the bathrooms updated. The staff was friendly and the morning breakfast we just as good as the one you find at the bigger chains for about $30 more a night. Would recommend getting a room on the back side of the hotel that does not face 290. That way you won't hear the sound of the highway at night. Over all I would recommend to anyone.
I'm going for an "Excellent" rating on my stay! Had the small town hospitality! Attended a reunion at Lake Somerville and it was hot! I called ahead at the hotel and asked if they would make sure the a/c was on cold! Even though the lady chuckled a little, it was cold when I arrived! The gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly and after I expressed a concern of being on the second floor with no elevator, he offered to assist in any way and to call him if we should need help with our luggage checking in and out. The room was clean and had plenty of room. I did mention...the room was clean? (!!) This is the most important thing to me! My bed was very comfortable and there is a ton of channels to choose from on the tv! We felt the breakfast was very good (do try the mini omelets) and the coffee was spot on as well as how welcoming the front desk staff was in greeting us when we came in to the lobby that morning. I would definitely stay here again! And...adding a shout out to Robert! :-)
This is a very nice hotel. It's a smaller hotel but clean & quiet. Employees were polite & helpful. The location is within 3 miles from Blinn College, HEB (grocery store), Walgreens & Walmart. We would stay here again the next time we are in Brenham.
Each and every person we encountered in the lobby and at the front desk was incredibly professional, welcoming, and helpful when we checked in, used the lobby computer, needed local information, got coffee/cookies, ate breakfast, and checked out. The housekeeping staff was welcoming as well; each time we passed by or needed anything they were helpful and courteous. We felt right at home during our entire stay. This will be our go-to place to refer friends and family.
Great stay! We enjoyed the friendly staff, the great breakfast, and the fluffy pillows. There were a few ants near the sink though. Overall, we had a really great time and we'd like to return again soon.
Great value and staff were awesome. I found a snake by the pool one night but it was harmless. Sherry was a great host. I'd refer you to friends. We look forward to making this our home for all Blinn Home Games this year!
Would highly recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Brenham Tx , very clean, nice staff , free breakfast & cookies at night Even nice pool if you need to cool off once the Tx heat starts!
The place was clean, the beds comfortable. I appreciate the breakfast bar and the coffee was great. Staff wasn't rude, they just weren't very chatty. The lady that runs the breakfast bar was very nice.
Me and my boyfriend stayed on Saturday, April 15 and checked out Easter Sunday. We wanted to check out the wineries and relax for the day/evening. When we arrived to check in, the woman who checked us in never said a word, never looked at us, never greeted us, absolutely nothing. On Easter Sunday, it unfortunately was the same, miserable, rude woman. She never said, "good morning", "Happy Easter," absolutely not one word. I wanted to go back in the motel after check out to let her know how extremely rude she was. If this woman doesn't like her job, or lacks people skills, I would suggest finding different employment, specifically, not working with the public.
The front desk check in staff was very helpful. I was looking for a nail salon close by, as well as good location to view bluebonnets, and James gave great recommendations. Rooms have coffee maker, mini fridge, & microwave! Nice breakfast in the morning, also.
Excellent staff, friendly and concerned about your needs, courteous, will bring a smile to your face and rooms very clean and comfortable with swimming pool. Hotel on feeder road and Highway 290 in Brenham, TX. 60 miles west of Houston, TX and 90 miles east of Austin, TX with many eateries such as Burger King, Mc Donald's, Waterburger, Starbucks, supermarket, Dollar Tree, Home Depot, Lowes and many other fast food restaurants to mention and Wall Mart nearby. Highly recommend staying if your passing through or visiting.
Took 5 kids to an academic meet at the college in Brendan. They have warm cookies and coffee in the lobby. The staff is EXCELLENT! So friendly and helpful. The rooms were extremely clean and fresh. The pool (yes the kids swam in the very cold water in April) was sparkling clean and very aesthetically pleasing. They have a basket ball goal and BBQ area with picnic tables. Dog walking stations. And electric car charging stations. I will definitely stay here again if I'm ever in Brennan.
We have been staying in this location 2+ weeks twice a year. They have proved their service for the better with each visit (not that improvement was even required). Immaculate facility with an outstanding staff.
Great clean hotel with friendly staff good breakfast. Would definitely stay there again when we come to Round Top Antique Fair. Newly remodeled right off the interstate and close to restaurants and shopping.
Unfortunately, I did not get her name but the lady that checked us in was EXTREMELY personable and helpful. I kid you not, but I CALLED every motel in the area and inquired about their breakfast. THE major deciding factor of where to book. The breakfast wasn't quite what I was expecting but it was the middle of the week and there were very few guest. Overall it was a VERY NICE place.
First time at this chain and was a very pleasant stay. We utilized a gas grille on the prmises and enjoyed our Turkey hot of the grille. Clean rooms and good breakfast.....The beds were comfortable and clean and the complimentary breakfast was also descent.
The hotel was very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. Excellent hot breakfast. Very convenient location right off Highway 290. I would recommend this hotel for anyone that wants a very good room at a reasonable price.
I have stayed at the Best Western in Brenham many times and sometimes for a week at a time while working. This motel is maintained and clean and I would not stay anywhere else when in the area! My daughters were with me and they could not believe how nice the staff was.
It was cold and brisk but with no elevator or inside stairs we trucked our luggage to the second floor via the outside stairs. What I saw first were the stains on the sofa and then on the bed spread. I understand you can't wash a sofa but you sure can wash a lightweight bedspread. The TV controller was in a little white packet but the controller looked dirty. Ask for a room away from the highway. The road noise creep into the rooms. The bed was firm but comfortable. The sheets were kinda worn but the towels were large and fluffy. The big TV was great. This is an older property but they have remodeled. The bathroom is small. The bathtub enclosure is a marble product and looks great. The vanity is a marble top and is large. Why they reinstalled the old used switches and ruined the look is poor. Breakfast was the usual but with a large bowl of sliced fresh fruit! Add 1/2 a banana and some pecans and Walla! Very good. I don't like soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower but that's just me. It probably saves a lot of money.
Two story hotel with outdoor pool and lots of open space (including a couple of shady picnic tables and a grill) behind the motel. The rooms are spacious. It's the floor plan where the sink is visible from the beds, then the toilet and shower is crowded together behind the door. If you're older than 40, you know what I mean. My room was clean (the remote control was in a felt bag). The toilet had one of those paper straps across it to show it had been cleaned (when was the last time you've seen one of those?). The shower pressure was outstanding in room 207, and the AC worked great. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Ice machine on the first floor breezeway was handy and robust. It looks like the management of this hotel really try hard to keep it up and to make it seem clean and organized. Being an older property, the effort is appreciated by we who make hotels part of our lives.
Front desk staff was outstanding. Room was old, but clean and beautiful pictures. It looked like it had been remodeled since it was built. All regular room amenities of what you'd expect in a large city. No elevator so we got a bottom floor room, and didn't hear the people upstairs!! Right on the highway, but set back some so noise wasn't noticeable. There was a slight smell like damp or not being used in awhile when we first opened the door, but with the door open for a bit, and room a/c circulating, wasn't noticeable any more.
Hotel was ok for the price. Room was very dark compared to other hotels. Carpet in room hadn't been cleaned for a while. Not many tables in breakfast room, so my family had to eat on the couch in the lobby. Staff was friendly. Pool looked nice and would have swam, but too cold.
The hotel staff was very helpful and efficient. The facility was clean, including the rooms. However, the building is older and the rooms have those in the wall a/c units that create a musty environment and so the rooms had that "older hotel odor".
The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and tidy. The a/c runs nice and cold as well. The bathrooms are small and there is very little hanging space if you are staying for an extended period of time.
The Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. BW should be Proud. Our biggest compliment will have to go to your hotel cleaning staff!!! Our room was the so clean and that is the main reason that we will be staying at a BW the next time we go out of town.
Good place to stay for Round Top Antiques Fair, nice staff. Room and bathroom are not huge but clean with comfortable beds. Ask for a room on the back side of the hotel, so you are not on the highway side. The breakfast was good, with different options every day. Breakfast room is small, and could use someone checking more frequently to restock items and clean counters and tables, etc.
3 friends and I stayed in this quaint hotel the last weekend of the Round Top event. The room was nice and very clean. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating! Good coffee and the breakfast had a wide variety of hot and to-go options! We enjoyed our restful stay!
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was brilliant, although the breakfast room is very small. The room was very clean and I loved the fancy folded towels. The only thing is that the hotel is not near the town centre, but then none of these type of things ever are.
I stayed here for four nights during a business trip. The hotel is adequate and reasonably priced. I had a ground floor room with an outside entrance. The hotel is right next to the freeway so there is some level of road noise most of the time.
Absolutely wonderful stay here it was quiet we can't hear the freeway nice pool just excellent service from the staff and you will not beat the price don't forget your AAA and AARP discount discount either
We went for a weekend getaway and the room was clean & nice. The staff both the night of check in and next morning for check out were very friendly and helpful. Easy access from HWY 290 and will definitely stay there again if we take another trip to Brenham.
I stayed this past Friday night and left the next morning and realized after I reached home, about two hours later, that I had left a new pair of jeans and a shirt in the closet. I called and they said housekeeping had already left and for me to call back but left a note for housekeeping. I called back and, housekeeping doesn't know anything about the clothes, didn't see them. Really? If you stay here, don't leave anything behind because the housekeepers are thiefs.
Staff was excellent and very friendly. Room was comfortable and quiet. Extra touches--cookies in the lobby, all-day coffee, goody bag, etc.--were meant to make you feel the staff and ownership really cared that you had a good stay. Our room had been recently renovated. One of the top 3 Best Westerns we've stayed at.
I would stay here again. My family reunion was aug. 6th.My husband and I had a 1 night stay. I am handicap and everything was excellent.I had a shower chair as I requested.Everything was excellent.I will return next year 2017.
Very average motel for the price. Other motels offer every bit as good of a facility for a less price. It was clean but really not much else to offer. If you are stopping in this area there are other competitors in the city.
Check-in was fast and front desk clerk was very friendly. Our room was a bit dated otherwise spotlessly clean. I carry a blacklight flashlight to check out room cleanliness and this location's housecleaning staff obviously know that they are doing. Our bed was quite comfortable and the too was spacious. We had a room in the front side of the hotel which might bother some that are sensitive to road noise. If you are, I would suggest requesting a room on the back of the hotel. We have family in the area and stay in Brenham at least a couple of times a year. This was our first time at the hotel and will probably make our new go to location when we are in town.
My wife and I stayed for 3 days due to a family visit. We found the hotel clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, enough options to suit anyone. We tried the pool and it was nice in the evening. The only drawback was a little noise from the highway since our room was facing the street.
Room interiors were nice, older hotel with outside doors that looked newer in excellent shape. Pool and pool area looked clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very basic, like a Hampton. Grounds were well kept. I would come back here again.
We really were happy that we found this Best Western. I really have not ever stayed in a Best Western quite like this one. The hotel was a smaller hotel, but plenty of rooms. The stay was more like we were at a Bed and Breakfast
This hotel is located on 290 just a few minutes from downtown and the creamery. There are lots of restaurants and even a WalMart close by. It is well maintained with a friendly staff and a great pool. The breakfast even has omletts and bacon. The front desk was very helpful guiding us to local attractions. They have plenty of maps and brochures. We stayed Wednesday thru Saturday and it was not crowded at all.
Probably the only pet friendly hotel in Brenham. They do charge, however they do have large areas around the hotel for dogs to do their business and run. They also have posts with bag incase you forgot yours (do your part!) Room smell musty, but are clean and appear to be sanitary.
I travel for a living, I'm in hotels every week. This is the finest I've been in. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the shower was heavenly, the hot breakfast was delicious, including omelets , bacon or sausage, and biscuits. The setting was quiet and peaceful, the staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel for over 15 years now. Hands down the most welcoming staff/people from owner and manager to every front desk staff you will encounter during the stay. They have maintained a clean property for all the years I been going. There are a few newer hotels that have come in over the years, but they are still competitive and will do the little extras to make your stay an enjoyable one. Have breakfast, a pool, sell snacks and incidentals at the desk incase you forgot something too. They are located right off the big interstate in town (Hwy 290) that will take you either straight to Houston or Austin the other major Hwy 36 is less than a mile from the hotel. The rooms are clean and very reasonalble price wise. I would recommend it to family or friends looking to stay in Brenham.
Hotel is conveniently located near Round Top, Festival Hill, where we were attending a two day concert program. We found the hotel clean, breakfast good, and the grounds and pool well cared for. The hotel is outdated but extremely clean. For our purposes, we were quite comfortable.
Nice clean quiet little hotel. Great breakfast items. Hot coffee, hot chocolate and hot tea at any time in the lobby. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Beds are comfortable and rooms are good size.
Very nice and clean room, wonderful full breakfast and good coffee, excellent location and in a beautiful town. If you are looking for hotel near here choose this one. No issues at all. Very warm and friendly check in personnel.
The room was clean, fresh and roomy. The king size bed was comfortable. The breakfast was nice that included Texas shaped waffles, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, sausage, pastries, etc. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about their beloved city of Brenham so our visit was very enjoyable.
We've enjoyed our stay here before, so when we knew we'd be in the area for our 36th anniversary, we booked here again. Easy access on 290. Sweet lady at check in and out. Parking close to room. Nice huge suite. Clean room. Breakfast. Great coffee :) Good price. Highly recommend. Will come again.
Would not have stayed here if there were any other options. Two weddings and and a baseball team in town. Bugs everywhere, noisy, dirty, stinky, mold in bathroom. There was never any parking in hotel parking lot at night. Had to park next door at another business.
Very nice hotel. The entire property is well kept, the rooms are large and roomy, well furnished and very clean. The staff was extremely nice and friendly, the exact opposite of the Super 8 in Brenham. A little pricy, but with all the youth tournaments going on, they stay pretty full on weekends. Not the greatest location for access to food and shopping, but not all that bad, Brenham is pretty easy to get around in. Will be going back in August, will stay here again.
Last-minute reservation for college softball tryouts. Clean, comfortable room. Decent breakfast. Friendly staff. Good location. In-room internet had no problems. We would stay again. An older property, but we had no problems (and we're usually self-described "hotel snobs.")
We were travelling to Waco Texas and had really bad weather conditions and road closures due to flooding, we had to change our route from Texas 6 north to Texas 290 North and was caught up in really bad rain, hail and wind on 290. We sat a while on side the road and then proceeded and found the Best Western and pulled in and called to see if a room was available and was told yes to come on in. We were greeted by a gentleman which I do not recall his name. He was very courteous and helpful to our needs. We stayed overnight and had not had supper yet and the staff kindly opened up the breakfast area and ourselves and other guest were able to eat toast, cereal, etc for supper. The weather was horrible and the staff made us feel very safe that night and the next day helped us to find our way around the town until we could be on our way to our destination. We were also offered a room on the first floor, we had taken all our luggage out not knowing we had to drive around to the room, the desk clerk showed us a way to bring our luggage to our room without having to load it back into the car.
Very helpful with our needs and request. All staff were there to help our family in anyway they could. We used the laundry and vending facilities and the breakfast was very good with great choices. Thanks.
They Put The "Best" In Best Western....Thanks So Much For Making Me Part Of Your Family, Your Thoughtfulness Will Not Soon Be Forgotten. You Guys Took Care Of Everything, Which Allowed Me To Focus On And Complete The Many Tasks I Had To Accomplish Each Day...It Was Remarkable...And I Hold Each Of You In The Highest Regard. Ps. This Is The First Survey I've Ever Felt Compelled To Complete, You Rock!
found the rooms to be very clean rooms. there was shampoo dispensers and conditioner dispenser on the shower wall there was hand sanitizer mounted above the sink. even the remote was in a sterile package. great staff from reservations clerk to check in clerk to breakfast lady! , excellent breakfast quite motel with a reasonable rate.
Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. The rooms could use some updating. I am more concerned about my room being clean and bed comfortable and so I was a happy customer! The price was a little on the high side for being outdated since I paid the same price for an Embassy Suite room in Dallas 2 weeks ago and had a full breakfast bar included with happy hour drinks in the evening. But this place is more touristy. I would still go back if in the area.
I stayed in the King Studio suite and it was super roomy and had everything in the kitchen you might need to make a meal. It was a safe place and the employees were very kind and polite. Baked cookies every evening in the lobby and had a really great breakfast. The pool is not heated and it there was a lot of noise so we didn't use it (carpet cleanings etc) and there was no hot tub but I would stay here again.
It's really not fair to rate this motel along side of of a higher class, say for example, The Lancaster in Houston. If I did that, this BW would only get 3 stars. But for it's class, which includes Holiday Inn Express and others that have individual AC units for each room and a breakfast using plastic utensils and paper plates, it's top notch. Staff was very helpful in guiding us by phone to the location (which, for some reason, my navigation system would not find). Breakfast was typical but very complete.
We've stayed here off and on for a number of years and were here recently for a week on business. The property underwent a very needed renovation over several years two or three years ago. It is now beginning to show some wear and tear. We had a number of issues during our stay relating to a burned out and broken table lamp, a broken GFI plug in the sink area which took several days to repair, a broken sink pop-up that simply wouldn't stay fixed. Also, the common areas need a spruce-up with a good power washing probably getting the job done. Maid service was OK but inconsistent. The morning breakfast was below average especially the rather vile scrambled eggs and potato offering. Basically, the place needs a little TLC.
The front desk staff were courteous and efficient. They had no problems recommending a place to eat when asked and did not push the the restaurant next door. The room was clean and no bugs which seems to be an issue in Brenham. The bathroom was a little dated and could do with refinishing. The soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall were a little disappointing. This was our second stay in Brenham and i would have no issues booking this hotel again.
very clean and friendly. staff is excellent. beautiful pool and in a great location. beds are top quality..room interior lighting could be improved......especially for people with low vision.. i always stay her when in brenham
I wish the water was soft. I also wish the building was further away from the highway so we would not hear all of the traffic going by. They need a larger parking lot also. This is an average place to stay.
The courteous staff made this place exceptional. Each one was helpful and had a smile for us. Breakfast was nice and was varied each day. Rooms were older but had been redone. The location was on a major highway so was convenient. I would stay here again.
I have been to Brenham before for work and I needed a place to stay that was moderately priced. I never really looked at the website and was really worried when I drove up because the doors are outside entrances. However, this place is like a little sanctuary on the highway. Quiet, very clean, very comfortable. It is not luxury, but it is very nice. The staff were incredible, just sweet and accommodating. Soap and shampoo are out of a dispenser in the shower, which had lots of hot water but was stuck on one setting. The bathroom door was off kilter so it did not shut, not an issue as I was by myself. Refrigerator, microwave, lots of space, great TV. No elevator though so you keep that in mind. And, 5 minutes away you have access to a gym that has everything you might want and is open at 4am. It is basic....bring headphones if you have them but they do have disposable earbuds for the 3 TVs. Clean and nice and kind of an adventure. I did not eat breakfast but it looked decent. I never thought I would say this, but I would stay there again. I was much happier than the Hampton where I am like a super duper member. This place deserves your business.
Came down for the TX Challenge. Seemed as all are friends were staying elsewhere but I loved this place. The price was good, the breakfast was good, the staff was very friendly and even suggested places in town that were specific to our needs. Hotel room was clean and even had a disposable makeup wash cloth and another nite we came back to a swan towel. Only complaint was the door was a bit off kilter and the seal wasn't so good. Could hear the highway, but with the AC running properly it drowned most of it out. One of the few times an ac unit ran so well I had to turn it down staying somewhere cuz I was freezing. Also had a cookie platter in the lobby.
We were a family of two adults and one child staying in a double queen bed room on the ground floor and on the north side of the building. We were greeted warmly on arrival, fed well for breakfasts on both mornings of our stay, and generally left with the impression that the hotel staff were friendly and cared about the happiness of the guests. This property could use a little bit of an update - but it was absolutely more than adequate - and we'd be pleased to stay here again.
Always a great experience at a Best Western. The staff was wonderful. The breakfast was hot and delicious. The beds were just right. The location convenient to much of the town, so we were able to zip in and zip out as needed.
The service at this hotel was exceptional. The staff helped us get our promotion discount. They also showed us how to open our door because we were doing it wrong. They answered any of our questions and gave us wi-fi passcode. The room was nice and quiet even on the highway side. The breakfast was a hot breakfast and was good.
The rooms were clean, the service and food were excellent; but, the room on the south side (next to the highways) was hard to sleep in because of the traffic noise. We ran the bathroom fan all night (to try to neutralize the noise). If you stay here, get a room not facing the highways.
We visited Washington on the Brazos for historical reasons. also Independence and Brenham. My wife and i enjoyed the trip and the sights. We went to the Rose Emporiam where lots of beautiful roses were blooming. Enjoyed the tour guide at Independence Hall. He was very knowledgeable.
Good, clean, comfortable hotel for travelers. Bed and pillows are excellent. Good TV. Bath is spacious and well-appointed. Breakfast is fine. Desk clerks are efficient and friendly. A great bargain for the money.
We were perfectly happy with our stay at the Best Western in Brenham! The staff was great, room was clean, and the free breakfast was convenient and a cost-saver. I would recommend this hotel to friends.
We stayed here 4 nights and were very pleased. The staff was extremely friendly. The maids did a great job and paid attention to detail when cleaning our room. Beds were comfortable, there was a fridge and microwave in the room, and the walls were thick enough that we couldn't hear anyone around us. The one disappointing part was the breakfast - I was fine with yogurt and granola, but the other things we tried (oatmeal & eggs) weren't very good. Despite this, if we ever need a place to stay in Brenham again, we will definitely choose the Best Western. Oh, and this is a motel-style property - doors open to outside.
The location was convenient with our travel plans, the room was clean and qiuet, the bed was very comfortable. The night manager was very efficient and made check-in a breeze. The ourdoor pool was well-located but, being the first of the year, we chose to not go for a dip
The staff was very helpful and our room was a suite. It couldn't have been more comfortable. Breakfast was a good variety and we really enjoyed the fresh fruit. In case you are wondering, the motel is a convenient location to everything. We had come for a family funeral and everyone at the motel was so accommodating. Make this your stop if ever in Brenham, Texas.
We chose this hotel because it got such great reviews – I must agree with most of the reviews that this is a well-maintained, very clean room. So clean it smells like a highly disinfected hospital area -not sure what cleaner they're using but created an extremely strong, overpowering smell. When we walked into the room we noted that it was a very nice room and well kept, but immediately were overpowered by the smell. We went back to the front desk and asked for a different room and again same smell -clearly some type of a very powerful cleaner was used in these rooms. Went back and reread some of the poor ratings and noticed there were some complaints about mildew and cigarette smell in the rooms – am wondering if this used to be a smoking hotel so they came in to super power clean the room to get rid of the smells -unfortunately leaving a very strong bleach odor. Not a problem unless you're sensitive to strong smells… Which I am and was nauseous most of the night and wasn't able to sleep. Advise caution to those sensitive to strong odors-
We went to a sporting event in Brenham. This hotel was reasonable, clean and convenient. Nice touch with the free cookies, newspapers & wifi. Rooms were typical motel type rooms but clean and spacious enough. Breakfast was decent.
Best Westerns are ubiquitous, prices seem relatively reasonable and service is excellent. We are happy customers. The hotel business is very competitive and Best Western is good value; based on our stays at six different Best Westerns in one month, we think the company is a winner.
Clean and comfortable room where we stayed after the Texas Renaissance Festival. It was conveniently located by a Wal-Mart and other fast food venues to grab a quick bite and head back to hotel. Only about 40 minutes away from the Texas Renaissance Festival so the drive didn't seem that bad.
Excellent quality for the price. Clean, comfortable room. Fine hotel staff. Good location. Free breakfast is not particularly spectacular, but it is convenient in the hotel. And did I say it's free? I stay there everytime I commute from West Texas to Houston and back (there's no problem with traffic).
We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities offered by the Best Western in Brenham. We had considered a bed and breakfast for our stay, but chose this hotel because the price was very reasonable. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety foods to please anyone. Each person we encountered went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely stay here again.
This facility is well maintained. The room was comfortable and included a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The facility also had a washer and dryer. The motel was conviently located to the city central.
This is a lovely hotel. The room décor is excellent, the amenities are great. No problem with wifi connection in room. The breakfast was awesome with something for everyone. However, it was extremely difficult to sleep due to an extra firm mattress and close proximity to the freeway with thin windows and doors. we had to run the radio between stations to cover the freeway noise.
We stayed at three Best Westerns in different cities this week. This was the best one. The lobby was very nice. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. They even had cookies in the afternoon. Beds were comfortable. This is the first time we didn't have any issues in the room. This was the only one of the three Best Westerns that we would stay at again. It rained the whole time we were there so it was nice that all of the walkways were covered. We were able to go to the breakfast room without getting wet.
My cousins and I recently spent 6 nights at the Best Western Inn of Brenham during fall antique week. We have stayed in several hotels here but this is the new favorite. The staff was friendly, hotel was very clean, exterior entrances were convenient for storing new treasures and a very good breakfast was provided. We all fell in love with Sherry who works the front desk and oversees the breakfast area. She is the epitome of southern charm and hospitality! She greeted us with a smile every morning, was warm and helpful and made our trip even more special. We can't wait to go back and see her!
We were treated to the new Double Green of General Manager Mr. Ash Patel. First Green, was the 30% rate increase in rates for the week we stay at his Hotel. Rates were increased 30% over the week before our visit and they dropped 30% the next week. Thus, creating more green ($$$$) for him. Second Green, Mr. Patel staff will tell you they changed sheets each and every day. No so, after 4 nights, I asked the staff about there policy, every day was the answer. I marked my sheets upon checking in, my mark was there until I checked with the front desk. Double Green makes good Cents to him. Increase the room rates and cut the linen laundry. What really bothers me is the poor attitude of the front desk staff and the fact that I would leave a tip for house keeping each day. Only to find the coffee machine not cleaned up, sheets not changed and dirt behind bathroom door from prior guest.
I would recommend this property. I have stayed there 3 times each time has been better than the rest. My only wish would be that the hot tub was still open after my long walks at the antique shows. But great overall stay
I travel frequently and choose BW Brenham. They have friendly staff and a good breakfast. Recently they updated the carpet. The rooms are clean. I will be returning to this Best Western again. It has turned into a home away from home. The internet works well. The channel selection is solid. No complaints.
Checked in without reservations, staff was accommodating and quick. I was asleep within 20 minutes of arriving. Clean rooms, comfy bed, plenty electrical outlets, good shower, quiet surroundings, hotel looks clean and inviting from the road, well maintained. Breakfast the next morning was a full hot breakfast with all drinks and fruit or cereal to chose from.
