After a long day of travel my criteria for a hotel was one that was next to dining options and the Best Western fit the bill. This is a fabulous location, one of the nicest Best Westerns I have ever stayed in, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was squeaky clean, comfortable, had all of the amenities you would expect, and breakfast was an absolute feast hearkening back to the pre-Covid days. I would definitely stay at this location again if I were traveling in the area.
The location was great. The front desk staff was friendly. The other workers and guests were smoking marijuana outside the doors. And smoking inside.. You had to walk through the smoke inside and outside.. The elevator stinks of weed, and clearly, this is a place where marijuana is a big thing. That's great for some, but I'll never come back here. I normally stay at Holiday Inn Express when I come to Bama Games. If you like the stink of marijuana, this is your place. If you do not, keep away. Oh, the toilet wasn't flushing right (for urine) and when something more “solid” went in, it backed up. I told front desk and hours later, I found a plunger and fixed it myself.
Everything thing about this Best Western was great. It was so clean from the halls to the waiting area, and all the way to the room. The manager was very helpful and professional when I purchased the room. She went the extra mile on helping us out and asked if we needed anything else. Great place I will stay there again my next trip back to Birmingham.
I spent many nights at Best Western over the last few weeks and THIS hotel had the nicest staff and rooms.
The hotel is clean and staff is very nice. The problem I had was the smell of marijuana in the stairwell. The hot water didn't work in the shower the water was cold. You can hear everything in the rooms. I heard people walking around in the hallway to some banging doors below me. As you walk by the rooms you can hear people having conversations, taking a shower and watching tv. No privacy at all. I don't get good sleep from the noise. I really enjoyed the breakfast plenty of options.
Hotel reception was good. looks clean from the outside. Our experience may differ from others, we paid for the suite and it smelled like cigarettes and marijuana. Screen was missing from window and ashes on floor. We notified the receptionist and sense this was the only suite she gave us Odoban to spray in the room. After an hour of cleaning we decided its not our job. No refund. We found a different hotel.
Great hotel. Loved the stay. I went there with my family and stayed there for four days. The rooms were excellent; spacious and very clean. They had all the necessary items. The staff is really nice too. Will absolutely come here again. 5 star in my book.
This is a pretty crappy hotel. The bathroom door didn't close because the latch was broken; it just flew back open whenever you tried to close it. The lady at the front desk said there was nothing she could do about it. The bathroom also smelled of cat urine and had no mirror and no sink. There are no outlets in the bathroom. The mirror and sink are in the main bedroom, which is a problem if you are traveling with someone who sleeps later than you do. You will wake them up if you turn on a light to brush your teeth or put makeup on. The woman at the front desk said that none of the rooms had mirrors or sinks in the bathroom. I find that hard to believe, but that's what she said. Two of the three machines in the fitness room were broken (bike and treadmill). There also was no water in the fitness room and the antiseptic wipes (to wipe off the equipment) were all old and dried out. On the plus side, the room was fairly quiet and the air conditioner worked. We had good experiences with staff other than the front desk woman. There is 24-hour coffee.
While the room was comfortable and the breakfast good, we had some glitches. The ice machine only worked on the 1st floor; the second and third floor machines were broken. The phone didn't work, and the TV quit working mid football game and didn't come back on until after we went to sleep. The coffee pot didn't work, but they did replace it. The front desk was very nice and apologized profusely for all the issues, but this establishment needs help.
No Comment I did not enjoy my stay this was the worst stay that I had. The service was Ghetto and below the belt. I have had a lot better service e at Motel 6. The only thing that was good was the young lady at the front desk she did all she could to make things happen but she had her hands tied. This is my home town and I enjoy coming home but it will not be in this hotel ever again.
Absolutely the worst hotel stay of my life. My family of 8 arrived at 1:30 in the morning. No one was at the front desk. We waited, called the main number for the hotel and it just rang and rang on the front desk next to us. We called BW corporate, and they tried to call the hotel over and over and the phone was just ringing next to us. After about an hour, we left and went to the Red Roof Inn down the road, and shared our experience. The front desk clerk there stated that she knew the other front desk person, and after calling her personal cell several times, was able to get her to answer. We headed back to this hotel. In spite of booking 2 rooms, the now awake clerk swore we only had 1 room reserved, and charged us full price for one room (Charged twice for that room). At this point it was 3:30 in the morning. One of our rooms was fine. The other - had not been cleaned at all - the beds were unmade and there were towels all over the floor. I headed back down to the front desk and got another room - which was clean this time. My wife and kids ended up getting to bed at 4 AM because of all this. We woke up at 9 to try and get a refund on the room and eat breakfast - then my kids got yelled at by the staff for being there late - it was 9:50 and breakfast stops at 10. The manager was terribly rude to my wife - who was very understandably upset. She told me she would refund my room IF she got paid by hotels.com - even though she told me they found the other room we reserved in their night audit. They did end up refunding that charge, but refused to do anything else.
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. A little above average Best Western Plus overall, and the front staff was excellent. Pros: - Excellent staff - Good breakfast - Pet friendly Cons: - None we found for a one-night stay
Beware, the owner/manger Pinder Gill went to Taos, NM bought the historic Kachina Lodge, cut down all the trees and shrubs thus destroying the historic lodge ambiance, had some cartoonish murals painted on the buildings then went broke and left town.
Just horrible! Avoid ! No hot water, rooms not clean, and roaches! Seen front desk clerk get rude with several seniors traveling in a group. Just a horrible experience! Nightmare! Friends room toilet did not work. Shame! This hotel is old and is in serious need of updating and a deep cleaning.
The service/staff was awesome especially Ms.Kristen she was the best overall she has a really good attitude she made sure I was comfortable very professional and I will also be visiting again 10/10 best service ever!!!!!!!?
This hotel is conveniently located across the street from a Cracker Barrel restaurant and 0.3 miles from a Walmart (in case you're running short on munchies and snacks for the road. We were greeted by a very sweet receptionist, only a few days on the job and working alone. She called her manager for assistance and was walked through the process. There was coffee available in the lobby but no hot water for tea. We had a first floor room and carts were available to bring our luggage in from the car. They do have a guest laundry room with washers and dryers but we did not use them during our stay here. The room was cool and it took some intense button pushing to figure out how to work the heater. On the surface it looked like most hotel heaters but just slightly different and missing some key labels. The lamps have 3 prong outlets in their base. The outlet is positioned in such a way that you cannot plug in most 3 prong plugs. Two prong plugs slipped loosely into the outlet. There are no USB ports. If you like mustard the interior room paint should agree with you. There is mold on the grout between the tiles in the shower and is starting to grow on the bathroom ceiling. There was also a wet towel hanging behind the bathroom door when we arrived. Attention to detail is clearly lacking. I spoke with the manager in the morning and learned that they are in the process of renovating the hotel. The manager listened to my concerns about the hotel and explained that our room had not been renovated yet. She seemed genuinely about fixing the issues. The dining area is beautiful and there complementary breakfast in the morning. Hot items included sausage, scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. They also has an assortment of hot and cold cereals coffee tea and hot chocolate. The room does have a working TV, microwave fridge and coffee maker. I used the coffee maker for hot water, it worked well. There seems to be enough parking and it is free. There is also a really cute fish pond in front by the main entrance. Overall I rated this hotel a 3 based on the entire universe of hotels. My expectations were higher based on past experience with this chain. I would return to third hotel in 6-12 months based on my conversation with the manager.
My stay at best western was amazing. The staff as well as the manager was so helpful. Anything I needed the staff had no problem with getting it done. The staff was very knowledgeable about everything.
From check in to check out the staff was great , the rooms were very clean breakfast was hot fresh and delicious my kids loved adding chocolate chips to their waffles. the yogurt machice and the toppings were everything we will be returning the next time we come to visit.
A great place to stay if you're in Alabama I would recommend it to anyone it's quiet and the staff is really friendly and they will guide you to all the great restaurants and things to do in Alabama if you never been like me and my husband
We've stayed at this hotel several times since 2018 and this was our last stay. We will move over to the HIE or something else next time we drive through. This time (and the last time we were there in August), housekeeping kept pounding on the door every 20-30 minutes starting at 9am. Check out is at 11, and we tell them on the first knock that we are checking out at 11am but they still knock every 20-30 minutes. It's rude and extremely annoying. We like to work til check out then drive until the next hotel check in time. This is our plan and it's impossible in this hotel. The TVs at Best Western Plus hotels are all supposed to be the same and this one was missing required channels. Annoying. We travel for days at a time and carry food with us so we purposely book a suite w tables and fridge and microwave. The fridge didn't even work. Annoying! We specifically get exactly what we need and this hotel can no longer provide that so we will not be staying there anymore.
We had to stay in a hotel while our hardwoods were refinished. This place was clean and the people working there are friendly and soooo helpful. Kristine, the manager was so accommodating to our ever need. John the breakfast chef was always asking what we needed and telling us he was bringing out some more biscuits or eggs or whatever looked like it was getting in low supply. LaToya and Shelby we're wonderful as well. Everyone treated us like family. Housekeeping was wonderful as well. Oh, and also our fur babies were welcomed by everyone. I'd highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area. We had a lovely stay because of caring staff!
The computer system was down during our initial attempt at checking in so we had to return later that evening. Then a maintenance employee was attempting to check people in and the computers were down again. Breakfast was delayed and many items were missing. Had to ask for coffee and coffee cups. Also had to ask to have oj machine turned on.
The hotel was clean and nice it has a pool and a small workout area and good size truck parking. I usually stay there when I have delivery's and have to spend the night!! There is good food next to hotel you can walk to. It is a nice place to stay!!
There was a roach in my room and manager never responded to it. I took a picture of the dead roach and showed it to the desk clerk who made a note with my room number and said he would put ii on the managers desk who would be in touch with me. I never heard heard from him. On checking out I told the desk clerk again. She made a note with my phone number and said she would put it on his desk where it would be seen first thing and I would receive a call from him. I have not received a call. I am very disappointed in this Best Western Motel.
My family and I were visiting Alabama Adventure/Splash adventure waterpark and looking for a decently priced place to stay. I read several reviews and researched a lot of the area hotels before deciding on this one. We were very pleased with this hotel! The location is great being only 7 minutes (easy back road) drive to the park. It's right next door to a Cracker Barrel and waffle house (the Applebees is closed). The hotel room was clean and spacious, the staff was all AMAZING and very friendly and nice. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had with a huge selection that pleased even the picky eaters. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, bagels/cream cheese, waffles, cereal, yogurt bar, muffins/pastries, fruits (banana and apple) 3 different kinds of milk including almond milk, gogurt, applesauce pouches and I'm sure more I'm forgetting. The breakfast attendant kept everything fresh and stocked up and the tables clean. This hotel also has a Koi fish pond that our girls loved and an outdoor pool that we didn't have time to use. There is a clothes washer/dryer there I believe was $2.50 to use as well as soda machines and a vending machine (that was pretty empty) Overall we were very happy with our stay and this will be our go to hotel for future visits to the water park :)
In the area for a Baseball tournament in Hoover. We arrived early and were able to check in. First room we were given , refrigerator wasn't working and smelled horrible when we opened the door. We're given a new room immediately. Stayed 5 days, No ice machine the hotel worked after our 2nd day. Advised front desk on more than one occasion and was told they would leave a note for maintenance. On our second night , requested our room to be cleaned the next day, it wasn't done, and during our stay had to shower cold 3 different times due to no hot water. Breakfast is basic and 3 of the 5 days the menus was exactly the same. Staff was very friendly, and did their best to accommodate our requests, but the issues we had needed to be addressed by someone other than front desk staff. This is not the type of hotel to stay at if you are there for multiple days in my opinion. Booked it based off of its TripAdvisor Ranking which was #1. Will be back to the area agin next year , and would not stay here again.
We arrived very late on a Thursday without a reservation but were still able to get a room with two queen beds, which were very comfortable. Room was clean and it was conveniently located right near the interstate. Recommend and would stay again if in the area.
We stopped by on our return trip across the south. This location is very quiet. We felt they had the best bed on our trip. Good service and good breakfast, too, with lots of options. If we pass through again, we'll stay here.
This is one of the cleanest and nicest Best Westerns we have stayed in. Check in room a bit because the girl behind the counter seemed a little distracted by the man before me who was telling her his life story but she managed to get the job done. Lobby is very nice and the Room was very clean. The breakfast was wonderful. Many options. I was thankful for the options for my 2 year old granddaughter.
This is a nice Best Western with everything you need at one exit. There are sit-down and fast food restaurants, gas, etc. in a quiet, safe area. They were a little short-staffed due to CjVid, but no real problems.
We stayed three different places on this trip and this was by far the best one! Checking in was a breeze and the beds were very comfortable. We'll definitely be staying here again when we come back through.
My wife and I checked in this hotel after spending a disastrous night in a Best Western in Gulf Shores,AL. What a turn around. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was better than I could have hoped for. Will stay here again and will tell my family and friends to stay here as well.
The title I chose for my review pretty much says it all. I really don't want to just repeat all the good things about the hotel that others have mentioned, other than to confirm the positive reviews are spot on. But I chose this hotel sight unseen because I am partial to the BW hotel chain to start with due to many multiple great experiences with the chain in the past. And I will say that I was very happy with the treatment and professionalism I was shown by the two young ladies working the desk the night I checked in, Kelsie and Tina I believe their names were. They were very helpful at check in. Room was good and the breakfast was awesome. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'LL BE BACK" next time I am in the area and want a room for a night.........or two.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel and their staff. Our car broke down on a Sunday evening on the way home from vacation. The manager Tamara and front desk staff (Kristen) were very helpful in extending our stay while we waited for repairs to be completed. The supervisor even offered to give us a ride to pick up our car. The hotel was very clean and quiet. Located across from Cracker Barrel and Waffle House. Thank you Best Western Plus Bessemer staff for making a difficult time more bearable. If we ever need a hotel in this area again, we will definitely stay here.
I leave this review with a heavy heart. Every staff member was really nice and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My complaint stems from the toilet being backed up and a maintenance person had to come to our room an hour after we checked in. Also, I had to kill a single large roach that appeared next to the television. This totally ruined our stay! I was so hoping to leave a better review because the staff was great, but the roach and the toilet was just not acceptable.
The hotel and location were both great. Walking distance of several restaurants, shopping vicinity, and Walmart. We were there for Alabama Adventure and after a 6 hour day, we were bummed. The distance to this hotel was just what we needed after a long hot day. The hotel was nice and clean, staff was very nice and polite, and the breakfast was exceptional. The deluxe room was huge! Will definitely stay again when we return.
Rooms were clean, and very affordable. Every staff member was friendly and welcoming. There were plenty of selections for the continental breakfast. We had a King bed with a pull out sofa. It was plenty big for our family of 4. The workout room was closed due to covid, but everything else we experienced was pleasant.
We stayed for one night during a cross-country trip. The hotel was clean and tidy. The room was comfortable. Breakfast options were somewhat limited compared to other Best Westerns, but this may have been partially a result of lower occupancy on the night we stayed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
This was our second hotel as we checked out of the first without staying due to the poor accommodations. The staff and accommodations at Best Western were awesome. The front desk staff, notably Toya Miller, were great. Housekeeping was so nice and friendly and accommodating. I was so pleased with our trip. And the room was great. It was clean and quite spacious. Just a great hotel with a great staff. I couldn't have been more pleased.
From the moment I walked into the door in the lobby, the front desk clerk was so welcoming and nice. She was very helpful with surrounding businesses. Check in took less than 10 minutes, then I was relaxing in my very comfortable and very clean room. I slept so peacefully that night. Everyone was very quiet. I woke up early the next morning and check out was just as pleasurable as check in. It took less than five minutes.overall I had a great, relaxing experience. Thank you
After searching for a hotel in Bessemer, AL not only was BW hotel priced fairly, it had the best reviews as well. I have to agree that the reviews were accurate and this place is nice! I would recommend this place for sure.
First I compliment the front desk attendant. She was courteous and efficient as she checked me in while answering my questions and the phones. The room was clean as expected by a Best Western. However. A warning to anyone who wants to actually sleep while here, do not stay in room 112, The window of this room is right next to the cigarette/smoking receptacle for those who smoke outside. I heard every conversation throughout the night, including 830pm, 10pm 1130pm 330am and bright and early at 600am etc etc.....This went on all night long. I heard doors closing and opening in the hallway all night and conversation too. At about 1130pm a group of extremely loud individuals made themselves heard outside before coming in and then in the hallway for a good half hour. I did request a room on the first floor and close to an outside exit as I had to bring my bicycle inside, I did not expect to be awake all night though because people can stand directly outside the room window. At one point after listening to chatter for a half hour, I even knocked on the window and asked them to lower their voices, but I didn't do this all night long. I actually thought about calling law enforcement myself at one point when the group was so loud. Additionally, the window coverings don't stay closed all the time so imagine showering and sleeping knowing that at anytime someone can see in the room. I choose Best Western Plus most times while traveling but lesson learned here, stay off the first floor by any entry doors.
I was a guest at this hotel in December 2020 and my stay was good. The trouble began when I checked my bank account after my stay and discovered I was charged twice. Made a call to the hotel on December 29, spoke with the manager on duty and was told one amount was for authorization to hold my card and the additional amount was for the hotel charges. I asked when will my funds would be return. The manager told me would take 5 business days and my bank should have a code to do the refund. Called the hotel back on 5 January to let the manager know my funds was not deposited to my account but was now told she did not see the additional charge that we spoke of the week before. I was told to contact my bank, which I did. I have receipts of both charges and the hotel refused to refund me. Because of my business in Bessemer, I felt I had found a good hotel to lodge with. That will not happen anymore. Guests, please check you bank statements after your stay. I hope your visit will be better than mine.
first of all messed up reservation, would not correct it, lied about the reservation and other employees, manager not there to handle the issue, very rude, rooms not fully cleaned. check in and out people were rude , will not be going back there again, ETC.
I have been staying at this hotel every time I'm in town for 10 years. I have never had a bad experience until this trip. Messed up reservation, no TV guide, no dirty clothes bag. Get your act together BW!
Our stay at the best western plus was pretty pleasant. There were a few disappointments. However, the front desk staff was very helpful accommodating my request. I had a double Queen with a kitchenette. “Kitchenette” wasn't what I expected. I expected a little stove. It was mainly a wet bar with a dining area. Which was cool. We called it our courtyard dining room when we opened the blinds. I visit the area often. We Chose this hotel due to its location being close to family, right off interstate, and great attractions near by. The cracker barrell is across the street. Great for breakfast before hitting the road. I agree the bathroom could be a bit bigger. I had a good price on the rooms. My second room I was expecting a king suite. However, my third party booking site booked a regular queen room. Due to covid-19 no hot breakfast or pool time. I suggest staying on the 3rd floor if traveling with infants or elderly for noise sake. Overall I enjoyed my stay. Pretty decent place, good price just needs some upgrades.
Hands down beat the Holiday Inn Express and cost less too. This is the third Hotel I have stayed at in Bessemer and this is by far the best. The staff is very polite and work very hard. From the minute you walk in the door they are right there to assist. The room is very nice, I love the separation wall between the bed and the sitting area. The little "bar" with the microwave and fridge and coffee pot all perfect. Very clean and set up aesthetically pleasing. Big LG t.v. My only complaints I could make is that the bathroom is smaller than I prefer, and the pillows are those little chicklet pillows, too small. Bed is large and comfortable, clean linen. All surfaces clean. Very nice amenities. And right off of I-20.
The staff was great and burnadette was an amazing person !! She is helpful and very friendly ! She had the breakfast ready and was will you help and even fix your breakfast for you ! She was always smiling and very respectful and helpful ! Great person and all around great staff!!!
a nice place to stay for a few days visit in bessemer/birmingham ... great facilities and very good breakfast...The wifi could be a lot better....central position near highway and all facilities ... all in all a great choice
Just stayed here. Got moved to a bigger room...but only to find it wasn't cleaned from last person/persons. There appeared to be dog food/puke...and hair all on the carpet in the kitchen area of the room.
I drive alot and I have stayed in alot of hotels, motels BUT I have enjoyed staying in this one, the people are great, the rooms are clean , and the breakfest is HOT and READY I get up early so I always find HOT coffee and I breakfest smells great coming from the kitchen.I don't have any complaints about the hotel other then there needs to be more like this one.
This is an economy hotel. Do not expect more. Considering, that and the area, this hotel can be recommend. It is clean. The front desk staff are friendly. The breakfast staff was hostile. I did not get a greeting, as staff seemed to be in the kitchen entertaining themselves. I asked for the blinds at the window to be opened. After all it was daylight outside and I wanted to enjoy the view. The staff scowled, and asked how many blinds needed to be opened. Incredulous! I just looked at her. She reluctantly opened all of the blinds. The Sunday breakfast was only average fare, with very little fresh fruit, but I was pleasantly surprised to see almond milk. Custodial needs training. I was sitting in the room relaxing (10:30) when housekeeping unlocked the door and asked when we were checking out. I had just come back into the room and did not set the deadbolt. I could not believe that someone was actually in the room trying to conversate me. She should have been apologizing and backing out. She stood there expecting an answer. When I asked why she was in my room, she said she knocked, as if that made any sense. Her answer from me was to direct her to get out! She did not seem to know that she had done anything wrong. When I did leave at 11, rather than taking the opportunity to offer an apology, her companion said to have a great day. Clueless!! The mattress is not very comfortable. I got up earlier than intended. The bathroom door was warped and did not close. That makes for an interesting situation when sharing a room. Beware that in the double room, the vanity is inside the living quarters, so if you want to use the sink you will disturb anyone else inside and lack privacy. The shower was sufficient. The toiletries are budget. The WiFi is very good. The location is good. Parking was fine. I would not stay here again.
Had a great stay!!!! Hot breakfast service was great...Lady working breakfast was great...food was hot was grateful for the hot coffee... The breakfast host made sure all my needs were met.excellent hotel....good job. Will stay again...
The lady in the breakfast area is just awesome!!!!! The food is hot and we did'nt have to wait on ANYTHING!!!! She asked if we needed anything and if we did it was provided. The coffee was hot and fresh and she made sure it stayed filled....we drank alot....And at the end of our breakfast she wished us a great day and to come stay with us again and we plan to....I asked for her name...Bernnadtte she is a keeper.....great server, and she was great with our dogs also...Just a overall great stay.
My wife and I were headed back to Knoxville, Tennessee after attending my mother's funeral service in Shreveport, Louisiana. It's a long trip back around 12 hours. We decided to stay overnight to get some rest. We opted for Best Western in Bessemer. Check-in was smooth. My wife and I stayed in Room 205, which was excellent because it was near the elevator; the room contained a lovely studio with two double queen beds and one bathroom. The hotel amenities included complimentary Wi-Fi access. There was plenty of parking. The next day I found a problem with my bill. Manager Connie Gibson addressed the matter swiftly and with a smile. She listened to my concerned and addressed the matter. I was very happy. I was amazed at the professionalism and caring of the hotel staff. In fact, I want to express my thanks to Manager Gibson for her effort with my group. She provided outstanding service to us. Overall, the resort is a good location if you are traveling near Birmingham. I would highly recommend to others due to the quality of service and location.
Very nice place to stay, close to the Bessemer Civic Center, clean, nice decor, good full breakfast. Would stay there again. They allow dogs and everyone was very respectful of other travelers. Could walk across the street to Cracker Barrel.
We stayed here for two nights for an Alabama football game. Convenient location right off the interstate, convenient to both Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Much better price than staying in Tuscaloosa on a football weekend. Great sized room with separate living room space from bedroom area. Water pressure wasn't that great, but the only downside. Nice hot breakfast and good wifi. Would absolutely stay here again.
I stay here often because it is the perfect distance within a commute I do often. The hotel and staff are great. The highway exit also has many food choices. It is quite for being so close to the interstate. I only go somewhere else if it is full.
Convenient location and friendly staff. Lots of construction workers make it difficult to keep clean, I'm sure (elevator floors, hallways, etc.). Several restaurants and a convenience store close by, right on the interstate.
Unfortunately, this motel does not meet cleanliness standards. Gracious staff, but dirty halls, carpets, and rooms. Very nice breakfast and excellent location; however, avoid this motel...several other good motels nearby.
Hotel in an area near a number of stores & restaurant, this was convenient. It was clean, amenities on the light side. However, really great customer service. Pool nice & clean and available for late hours.
I stayed here one night while traveling through Alabama. This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of a Cracker Barrel restaurant and is situated in a nicely landscaped area with several other hotels. I found the front desk staff to be very cheerful and friendly. The room was very clean with a nice decor and appears to have been updated fairly recently. As other reviewers have mentioned, the vanity with sink is located in the main room with the tub shower and toilet being the only fixtures in the bathroom. This was not a problem at all for me. My only issue was that I could hear a lot of talking, including sounds of running (little kids, I think) in the early evening. I was on the top floor so I know it wasn't coming from above. Even though it sounded like it was right outside my door, I think it was from inside an adjacent room because several times I looked though the peephole and never saw anybody. The noise ended before 10PM.
I hadn't stayed at a Best Western in many years. My experience exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed staying in this facility. It was very clean, centrally located to my class reunion activities and an exceptional value for the money.
Traveling to Tennessee we stayed for the night based on the rate and the star rating. The facilities were dated and not clean. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating. I passed on the breakfast as it was not very good. I gave it three stars solely on the staff who were very good.
This was a very good stay. The family a I enjoyed the entire weekend from sleep, breakfast, checkout and Housekeeping. The location was great also being close to the Interstate. Thank you for the service.
This is the family reunion that no one will forget. The hotel was very clean, staff was very polite and professional, the pool was clean, the room was beautiful and clean. If we had another family reunion in Bessemer Al, the Best Western Plus would be the best place to stay!
A coworker recommended Best Western and I made reservations at the Bessemer Best Western Plus. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff is excellent. The breakfast selections were plentiful and very tasty. I would definitely stay at this property again and will likely choose Best Western properties in the future.
Driving through and this hotel is in a great location! Very clean and very friendly staff ! Breakfast was great! Rooms were clean and comfortable. A/C was cold. Overall was very nice for price paid! Would recommend if coming through here!
This is my second time staying at the Best Western in Bessemer and both stays were fine. We like the location as it's just off the highway and close to Waffle House and Walmart in case we forget anything. It's also only 10 minutes from The Bright Star Restaurant which is a must for us when we are in the area. Our stay was fine. We didn't partake of the breakfast or anything but we did sleep well for several hours and that's really all we needed! The room was clean and well organized for us.
This hotel has very helpful, accommodating staff. They are respectful and want you to enjoy your stay. It is located in a newer section of Bessemer, and was convenient to where we were visiting. I would stay there again.
Very nice hotel with great helpful staff that was also very pleasant, wonderful breakfast, upscale rooms and good location near all ussual neccesities. It had all the amenities one looks for in a good hotel.
This is our 4th stay at this location during the past 3 years. We like to go there because it's clean, staff is very friendly, rooms are very nice for the money charged, and they have a great breakfast.
The front desk staff was very rude and the room smelled of smoke. When I made the reservation I asked for a double queen suite. They don't have suites. What they call a suite is a room with two beds, a desk, chair and a mini fridge in the cabinet under the TV. The hotel was dirty and smelled of smoke. The only thing that was half way decent was the breakfast.
We enjoyed our clean and comfortable stay at BW Bessemer. Our checkin was easy and pleasant with Kimberly and we had express checkout so that was easy. Breakfast was good, too. The building has some age to it, but it has been updated and was very clean for us. We have no complaints and could recommend this for a nice stay. There are several hotels grouped together here in a safe feeling area and a couple of eateries within easy walking distance.
This was a quiet and peacful stay at a very clean and friendly place. The staff was very nice and helpful and prompt whenever we needed anything. I felt at peace in this hotel inside and out. I would definitely stay here again.
The front desk was great, the room was super the food was great i would come back anytime the room was clean everybody love us and we love them The Owner Call me by my last name with respect (Mr. McCovery) I really like what I heard the hotel was been remodel, but still clean and quiet
I enjoyed my stay at Best Western Hotel and Suites. Everything for the outside of the hotel to the lobby, the front desk clerk, and the inside appearance speaks loud volume about this hotel. It was very clean the staff was very friendly. The breakfast area was one of the cleanest I have seen. The food presentation was great although I didn't eat much. I just wanted to speak with Mrs. Cindy because I love that lady and she is a joy to be in the presence of. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in or around the Bessemer area.
We stayed one night but the room was extremely spacious and clean. The hotel was quite, no loud noises. The breakfast area was also very clean and fully stocked with plenty of food and drink. Across the street is a Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, gas station and other businesses. I would stay here again.
We tried to stay at another hotel but had to check out because the other hotel was truly a “dump”. We were tired and began calling different hotels in the Bessemer area only to find them all full. Then we called Best Western and the lady at the front desk told us that she had two rooms left and she would hold one for us. The lady held a room for us even though we hadn't given her a credit card number. The room was nice and clean. We were very happy to find this hotel. I don't recall the name of the front desk lady but she was extremely nice and helpful.
Great hotel! It was clean and friendly employees. Excellent breakfast. I work during the day so I like a quiet hotel. This one was so quiet. You have several restaurants within walking distance. This is my favorite hotel.
I highly recommend this hotel. Great overnight stop for us. The room was spacious and had a frig and microwave. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Thank you Kimbalee for your hospitality. Loved being able to walk to Applebee's and getting a “hotel discount “.
Very clean. Our reservation had 1 double bed by mistake. The girl at the front desk changed to 2 queen beds. Made the end of a long days travel very enjoyable There are several restaurants within walking distance to hotel. The hotel is right of the exit to route 20 yet you heard absolutely no traffic noise.
Second stay with clean modern rooms. Kimbalee was so pleasant and polite checking us in. Very convenient location with lots of hotels and food. Will stay again. Breakfast is very filling and fresh. Great place to stay.
We being or dogs when we tandem through Bessemer to get to North Carolina. The staff is always great with us as well as the dogs. We also witnessed a few wonderful things last year when a hurricane came up from Florida, and this area became a refuge for many. We will always come back!
This hotel is great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They made you feel like you were part of their family. The room was clean and very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast bar was fantastic. There was something there for e everyone.
SerciSewas average, breakfast was veey good and rooms were nice but bathrooms need to be updated and they are small. Location is in a quiet place and there are eateries around so you do not have to travel far and Walmart is down the road in case you need extra toiletries or clothing. Alabama Splash Adventure is an exit down.
I booked a room at this Best Western to stay overnight after I picked my daughter up from the Birmingham airport late at night so I wouldn't have to drive 2 more hours to get home. Upon first glance, the lobby and hallways seemed inviting. The desk clerk was nice and thanked me for being a BW rewards member. When I got to my room, I had to unplug the clock and lamp in order to plug in my phone charger and I noticed that the lampshades and wall behind the nightstand were very dusty. The furniture was somewhat worn looking, but the bed was very comfortable and looked clean. The wall in the bathroom, however, had splatters on it by the trash can and the caulking around the handrail in the tub had mildew on it. There were a few obvious places in the room where the walls had been repaired and/or painted over and the whole room looked dated, for lack of a better word. But the biggest issue in the room was when I was putting on my makeup this morning and a ROACH ran across the vanity by the sink. I tried to smash it, but it got away. That was enough to change my opinion about the room, especially since we were on the 3rd floor. We did eat breakfast in the hotel since it was free and while there was a very good variety of items (even though I question the need for having Hostess cupcakes on the breakfast bar), the eggs were rubbery and the waffle batter tasted somewhat sour (which may have been how it was supposed to taste, but it was different than what I expected). I noticed in the dining room that the furnishings also looked dated, the wallpaper was peeling in at least one place, and the ceiling tiles had a few stains. After my experience with the roach that morning, I was ready to pack up and get out of there. I did tell a housekeeping supervisor and the front desk clerk, so hopefully they will take care of it. My opinion is that this hotel needs a facelift and the rooms need more thorough cleaning. I have usually had good experiences at BWs, but this time, I was somewhat disappointed.
Definitely would stay here again! Kimbalee went above and beyond to help us with our pet fees and military discounts! We travel with our small dog and our baby and it was painless stopping here to rest for the night. We normally stay in Birmingham on our trips home but this might be our new “normal” stop! Thanks so much for a great experience!
On a business trip to Bessemer I had many hotels to choose from. I chose the Best Western because of the wonderful experience I had at the Best Western in Pigeon Forge. The room was clean, breakfast area well stocked and clean and the staff was very courteous. I will stay there again on my next trip to Bessemer
I reserved a room at Hampton Inn in Bessemer, Al first time in the area and was not sold on the rooms. and we saw a Best Western and never stayed in any Best Westerns, but am glad we did. My wife and kids love the place. Rooms are clean, beds really comfortable. But what sold me is Tanaisia, she's sweet, kind and genuine at heart. I am a hotel GM of two properties, in Tuscaloosa. I would hire her any day. She's a great asset to this establishment. I wish her great success, please tell the GM of this property that she's definitely a keeper! Thanks Tanaisia for making my family feel right at home. Huey Harris GM RM# 322 OM Hotel's
My family and I stayed at this hotel in 2016 on our way to Gatlinburg, TN and we loved it. We took another trip to Gatlinburg this past week and stayed again at this hotel on the way up to Tennessee and on our way home. This hotel is very clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. I love that they also offer free hot breakfast. The ladies who prepare the breakfast area was also very friendly. I strongly recommend this hotel.
I was welcomed with a genuine smile promptly. My suite was spacious , clean and well appointed. Although some of the furnishings are older, they are well maintained and fresh looking. Their breakfast (included with room) is always well stocked and a large enough selection to please everyone, from a toddler to great granddad.
Wonderful stay for the road-weary! Bessemer is our usual “half way” stopping spot on the way to see family. This was my first experience at this hotel, but it will not be my last!!! The staff made sure that all of our needs were met, even helping me track down my glasses! Great experience!
The BW Plus Bessemer is located in a patch of hotels/motels in the immediate area. Our reception was personable and very accommodating. We did arrive a little early because of time change traveling west. Conveniently across the street is an Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, Waffle House and a Barbecue Restaurant, all within walking distance. Applebee's offered a discount to BW customers. The rooms were fresh, bright and clean. This was one of the best BW's we stayed at during our trip. Bedding was very comfortable and the bath was clean. Air conditioning WORKED GREAT. All the conditions for a great stay! Unfortunately...we encountered a stormy night, the lights blinked a couple times and then went off about 10:30PM. Every place north of I-20 was in the black. Hotel emergency hallway lighting did work and I'm glad I always travel with a flash light. The local power company worked to restore power to a near by hospital, as a priority. Yup!....no power, no A/C, no hot water, no coffee or breakfast. Couldn't open the windows because of the storm. Uncomfortably warm...but not because of Best Western. The sun did come up and we packed up to leave as the power was restored about 8:30AM. The hotel does have smoke detectors, fire suppression system and annunciators. Good location, just outside of Birmingham. We would probably stay here again.
have stayed in many hotel rooms and i'm used to bad beds no matter what the cost of the hotel chain. this is an exception. very comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, nice, hot breakfast. helpful staff. easy check in late at night. would stay here again.
I didn't have a reservation. The young man that checked us in and out was wonderful. He was friendly and helpful . I will be returning to stay in the same location again on my next trip because of his attitude and kindness. The room was nice and clean. Very comfortable and good breakfast. Great location
We recently stayed at this hotel. We were assigned a room and went to it and found that the smoke alarm was beeping presumably because of a bad battery. We told the front desk and they sent someone to repair it. They couldn't even open the smoke detector much less fix it. They moved us to another room but when we got into that room you could hear at least 2 or three other smoke alarms beeping periodically. I called the front desk and they said that they would ensure that they were fixed soon. We went to dinner at that point. Open return they were still beeping so I called the front desk again and they said that the manager was coming in and would ensure that they were fixed. The were never fixed during our one night stay. We heard beeping all night long. During check out I asked to speak to the manager but was told the manager wouldn't be in until later but they promised to have the manager call me when they got in that day. The manager never called. This was 4 days ago. Three days ago I called and asked the manager to call me again. They still have not called. Yesterday I called again and they didn't even know when the manager was working (I talked to the so called assistant manager). They gave me the managers direct cell number and I called that number and left a message yesterday to call me. Four days later, still no response. I cannot recommend that anyone stay at this location. Very poor management and follow up. In addition, I will now report this hotel to the local fire department officials because I can't believe this place is within code.
We stayed here twice within a week while making a round trip through Bessemer. The room was clean and well appointed. Lavatory sink was leaking and made a mess every time we used it. Continental breakfast was great with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, along with all of the other customary items. Cindy did a great job of keeping everything clean and well-stocked. The front desk employees were a different story. First time checking in, she was on her cell phone and the hotel phone at the same time, and I stood at the desk waiting for a long time for her to turn her attention to me. Should have been someone else there to help out. Later I saw a front desk clerk walking down the hall eating fried chicken and laughing loudly with her buddies in the lobby. Very unprofessional. Then on second check-in, front desk clerk said my credit card was denied. After several attempts, another employee showed up and taught her how to do the credit card process. Nothing wrong with my card. Not impressed with the front desk staff. Would stay here again, and hope for the best at the front desk.
All was great only issue we had was shower head not working properly. Convenient location with interstate close by and multiple restaurants across street. Rooms are nice and clean and a really good breakfast.
I had excellent service at Best Western Plus and would highly recommend anyone to stay there nationwide. They helped my family with a bereavement for a family funeral that needed to be put together in a timely manner.
The hotel was easy to find. Walking in the lobby presented to be welcoming and staff was courteous. Rooms were very clean with a lot of room. Only very minor items out bathroom door wouldn't lock but oh well. I would recommend travelers to stay at this best western.
This hotel is getting really run down. I have stayed a couple of times before in the past 3 years and i see it going down. The staff is very nice and everything was fairly clean. I will probaly not be staying again. I can find better for the money.
The hotel is wonderful. Staff was super . The room was spacious and bed soft. Only let shown was breakfast. Not many breakfast items they have cake but that is more for lunch or dinner. Other then breakfast the hotel is Awesome. You Get your monies worth
We went to Birmingham for a funeral. The church was near Bessemer so I chose this hotel because of the decent ratings. I don't know where the other reviewers stayed but I don't know how it could have been this place. The personnel were fine-but that was pretty much it. It's not that it was dirty, it is just old and needs a major overhaul. One of our rooms had the toilet break at 1 in the morning. I realize there is no one there to fix it but the room flooded. They transferred us to a room on another floor-I had booked side by side rooms on purpose-and “upgraded”us to a King Suite-which was not a good choice for us-I had purposely booked rooms with two queen beds. I realize the woman thought she was doing us a favor but...someone who worked there told me the next day that the toilets are always breaking ;(. A lot of the hotel smelled strongly of bug spray-better than roaches I guess. The free breakfast was rather dismal. I'd never seen Hostess cupcakes and chocolate layer cake offered on a breakfast buffet before! Pickings were slim, to say the least. I was also disappointed to find out that the advertised hot tub was actually outside and therefore not open. There are many other hotels in this small area and I would suggest booking at one of them over this one. The best bet would be to gut the place and start over.
It's not that Birmingham, Alabama, doesn't have a talent for treating its guests, like that jaw-dropping (and tongue twisting) grand palatial chateau called the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa (really) in the center of the city, but for your average overnight traveler, it's a maze of too much-- like a gold rush stampede of chains that have all showed up in town with pretty much the same offerings. The result is a confusion of too many brands offering too many choices and not enough experience to really understand what their guests really want. Until this surprising gem in the Bessemer area. After several years of one failed try after another in and around Birmingham, this Best Western was an instant hit and a new favorite that means I can now look forward to Birmingham as a destination. It is a perfect example of how such overnight stays can be a truly pleasant and restful experience. And it also makes it look easy. The lobby feels like a clubhouse with a front desk that makes you feel as if you were expected. The halls, elevators and housekeeping are equally fresh and welcoming as if someone is not only on the job, but loves it as well. The rooms are spacious, spruced up and well-appointed-- you know when you have landed in a place that makes you feel secure and rested (and when you don't). There isn't a single small detail that is out of place: the leather desk chair easily glides up (rather than jams, you know about that one) and there are even night shades on the windows. The small gym is well-equipped-- and really works. In the morning, there is a sunny outdoor/indoor breakfast room with two sides of wall windows and a variety of tables next to a large (and immaculate) serving area. In addition to the fresh waffles, cereals, bagels and eggs, there is a counter with vanilla and strawberry yogurt smoothies. And a chocolate sponge cake. It just seems like the kind of place where you would expect to find that, too. Sweet Home, Alabama.
Staff was professional and helpful. Front desk clerk, Dee, was very helpful, professional and polite when we were stressed, arriving very late in the day. Really appreciated her and the lady who oversaw the breakfast bar.
We stay at this hotel every weekend and as always the rooms are clean and comfortable. Debra in the breakfast area is the BEST. She treat every like family. She leaves a lasting impression so you will never forget your stay.
The hotel was beyond my expectations. My husband and I were really surprised at the cleanliness of the entire hotel. The staff, room and breakfast were outstanding. This most certainly will be our place to stay every time we are in the area.
I would definitely stay here again. I prefer a hotel with queen beds rather than double and these were particularly comfortable. All the linens were in excellent condition. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
This hotel was excellent and priced reasonably. Stayed for New Years and they were able to accommodate all our requests. We had three rooms and each one was accommodated to each occupants unique situation.
The staff was all super friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Heater worked great. Nice place to stay. The room was quiet and didn't hear any noise from the hall. Would stay here again.
Room size good and location. Sound level terrible from other guest and roaches in the room. Food , several restaurants and shopping such as Walmart near buy. You are not that far from Birmingham less then 30 minutes.
Love this hotel, the quality and service was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel The staff is professional with a caring attitude of excellence ,MS. Georgetta is always very helpful in her customer service. and concern, she always greets you with a friendly smile MS D. Williams made sure my second day was a breeze . MS M. WILLIAMS
Great rooms, great and friendly staff. The staff was very helpful and concerned since I had had to have oral surgery. They offered several times to get thing for me. They showed genuine concern for both my husband and me. the rooms were clean, ample towels, all amenities worked properly. We have stayed there before and plan to stay again in the near future. The breakfast was ok--I was having my 5 oral surgery so most of the menu I could not eat but it looked very pleasing The entire staff made me feel that they cared about us as people. All of them, were very pleasant. genuine concern!!
This hotel was very nice. The breakfast was good and fresh. Stayed here to go to the Alabama football game. Will definitely stay again. The hotel is easy to get to and many places to eat. The staff at the hotel was very nice and the hotel was very clean.
I had two issues I addressed with the front desk staff and both ladies apologized for any inconvenience, wrote down the issues, and told me they would inform cleaning and maintenance staff to correct. All staff we encountered throughout the hotel were very friendly. On the positive, room decor was nice and breakfast was adequate. On the negative room coffee wasn't good and there is quite a bit of light that comes in around the door so be forewarned of that should you have issues with sleeping with any light around. Positive/Negative the beds are very firm.
Horrible service this is the reason for One mark score the lady's at the front desk are incredibly rude ! Don't spend your money here stay at a place where( good) customer service is understood as being part of the job!
A friend and I stayed at the Best Western on our way to New Orleans. This was a pleasant stay as our room was roomy and bright. The bathroom was a bit small, though. The breakfast was the usual: waffles, eggs, biscuits/gravy, and so on. The dining area was roomy and nicely furnished. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
Very nice hotel, room was large and comfortable. Overall, a good night stay and fairly close to Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. When you get the suite, it is very nice and quiet - easy to get rest. Thanks for the night
My dad and I stayed here on Oct 23, just passing thru on our travel. We called ahead and booked the room as we were driving. Georgette checked us in and was very nice and super professional.. we had an issue w/the toilet and she offered a new room or the use of the plunger :) daddy wanted to try the plunger and so we did and all was well. Room was nice and clean, free wifi, breakfast was nice. I'd stay again.
Great customer service. Nice and friendly staff. I loved staying here at the Best Western Plus Bessemer Hotel. Free wifi and good breakfast every morning was a treat. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
Nice but average hotel. They do a good job of handing out cards asking for 5-star TripAdvisor reviews which seems to be a good strategy based on their reviews. Staff is nice and friendly, the location is good with several restaurants nearby and the rates are reasonable. Breakfast is average hotel fare and lady working the breakfast is always nice and friendly. We stay fairly often during football season due to proximity to Tuscaloosa. One thing I wish they were better at would be early check in. More often than not, I am able to check in early at other hotels on game day, but I am never able to check in before 3:00 at this facility. That usually means a very late check in after the game is over and sitting in traffic. The last stay we ended up in a room that had been smoked in. We made the front desk aware but there were no other rooms available. Would have been nice if the housekeeping staff could have sprayed the room with Febreeze prior the next guest arrival and perhaps reported it to the front desk so that they could charge the previous tenant for violating the 100% no smoking policy.
Every one was so nice - very friendly - the front desk at check in and check out was GREAT! The breakfast lady (Ms. Deborah) was amazing. So much energy, so happy, so friendly and such a very hard worker. A plus for your company. And on top of all the nice people, the hotel was very nice and VERY clean!! We be back for sure!!
For the price range this hotel is well worth the money. It is clean, the front desk attendant was very nice and helpful, The room was just as described and photographed. The beds were very comfortable. They allow pets. The breakfast has a nice selection of hot and cold foods and drinks. There is an attendant who is present the entire time replenishing items as they get low. I would stay here again anytime.
Of all the motels I have stayed in , I would rate this among the top 5. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was great; gravy and biscuits, fried eggs, sausage patties and links, waffles, several different kinds of cereals and oatmeal, pastries, juice, coffee and hot chocolate, and many other things. The breakfast area was spacious with table space for at least 20 people. This is a beautiful and clean motel near the interstate with many restaurants nearby. The staff was very pleasant; the lady at the front desk (Dee) was very friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend this motel.
Clean motel in very nice, safe area. Close to many restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with plenty of hot and cold items. Comfortable bed, clean, fresh smelling room. I will be staying here again.
We have stayed in several hotels in Bessemer and, unfortunately won't be coming back here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The double room was large and clean, and the beds were comfortable. BUT...the air conditioner was so loud that when it went on every ten minutes, it sounded like you were in the flight path of the local airport. In addition, it was installed so that it blew directly onto the heads of both beds, and there was no way to redirect the vents. We had to build a wall of pillows on the closest bed to try to divert the stream of cold air away from our faces. If the beds were moved to the opposing wall, this could be averted. The bathroom door has to be slammed to shut, and the toilet overflowed one time. Fortunately we were able to mop it up with towels before it hit the bedroom carpeting, and it did not overfill again. Could have been disastrous if we hadn't stopped it. When I used the ladies room near the dining area, it wa evident that the stalls had been constructed very haphazardly. There is at least a one inch space on either side of the door, plus an equal size opening on the side because the side panels are too small. So there is virtually no privacy. Looks like each of the component pieces is just too small. Or they tried to expand the size of the stalls without any expense, so they just moved the brackets. Very uncomfortable. The initial impression here is vey good, with lovely common areas and clean halls. But the details make this undesirable.
This hotel was very convenient off the freeway between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL. Easy on and off......strip of restaurants walking distance. Rooms large and clean....with CLEAN CARPET...one of my must in a hotel that chooses to keep carpet in rooms. The bathroom was clean and the maid apparently cared about his/her work because the toilets were spotless....even down to the floor which a lot of maids fail to clean.....you know men...right? The space was in the room but I do not like rooms with cloth chairs....this room had a 2 seater couch that looked clean but I don't sit on cloth....bedbuds, etc are easy to hide in. So I set in the desk chair which was vinyl or leather. I wish public places would not use cloth furniture in these rooms that are rented out so often...but they do. The breakfast was the usual....nothing special but plentiful if you like eggs and meat. I only stayed one night so not sure if breakfast would be the same weekly. The person preparing the food was professional dressed and kept the area cleaned as soon as a person left the table...she cleaned completely. The front desk help was great and friendly....very hospitable. I would stay there without hesitation if in the area again. The restaurant to the right....forgot the name.....seafood /catfish was just great
Ms. Deborah is a great person , every time we come and stay it's the best services. Rooms are clean and quiet easy access in and out. Whenever we come to Alabama this is the only place we stay. I will advise others to stay here when they come to Alabama. Thank You For Everything.!
Bad experience with check out and wifi staff mad a mistake that cost me 2 hrs of my time and a $150 because I had to drive back 1 hr I left because they said I owed a balance for the room and I'm saying I have never had to pay a balance on check out unless I used the phone or taken stuff out of a stocked minibar which this place didn't have
the hotel is nice enough but the staff is trained in customer service. friendly professional helpful. i tend to lose things like keys. they replaced numerous times always with a smile. ask if you need anything. give you privacy if you ask for it. help when you need it.
We spent one night here on our latest Harley vacation, The location was easy to locate and close to all we needed. The staff were very professional and made us feel welcome. Let us keep the Harley under front carport out of the weather and for security. No problems what so ever will be back when in the area.
This was the most pleasant stay we have had in a long time. The hotel was so well decorated, even the hallways were beautiful. The staff was extraordinary. Ms. Cindy and Ms Deborah really made our stay very pleasurable. We have recommended this hotel to everyone we know that may travel that way. Mr. and Mrs. Cox.
Pass through the twice a year, and BE Plus is always our first pick to return to. Very clean, friendly staff, easy off/on hwy, and pet friendly which is very important to us. Thank to the staff of BW-Plus Bessemer, Al for always making our stay enjoyable.
I loved the bed-it was soft, I didn't want to get out of it. The front desk staff was amazing! We checked in around 4am and they let us do a late check out of noon, which was greatly appreciated. This was our second stay here and I would highly recommend it. If we go by this way again, we will definitely stay here again.
The desk staff was friendly and courteous. They were helpful with finding a dinner location. The room was clean and well maintained. The bed provided a good nights sleep. The wifi worked well. The breakfast was enjoyable.
Loved the bed! Good breakfast in the morning. This was just a quick stop on a road trip. It was perfect for what we needed. Plenty of parking spaces. Courteous front desk help. We always try to stay in a Best Western Plus or Premiere since they are a great hotel for the price. And this one was no different.
This Best Western was what I came to expect from Best Westerns. There was free wifi, free breakfast, and lots of parking including truck/trailer parking. Also had a really good location, close to the highway but didn't have a lot of noise, and was easy to find.
The service from check-in to check out was friendly and outstanding. The entire staff were extremely cordial and attentive. Deborah, Cindy, Toby, and the housekeepers secured our choosing this Best Western Plus the next time we are in the Birmingham area. The location was excellent, the amenities were thoughtful and appreciated. The building, room and grounds were nicely furnished, clean and cared for. Showing the room key to restaurants on the strip for a 10% discount was a nice touch. My only complaint had nothing to do with Best Western Plus; Cracker Barrel and Waffle House need to join in on the 10% discount plan. Again, the staff and their service was awesome.
Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel. Staff are always friendly and professional. They are always accommodating with their services. I will never consider staying anywhere else. The hotel is always clean and tidy. The location is good. Eating facilities are within walking distance. Best stay for your money.
I don't think my family and I will return to this hotel. The beds were very itchy. The breakfast was the typical 'hotel' hot breakfast nothing spectacular. My kid did notice the chocolate Hostess Cupcakes available. The air conditioner made a very high pitch whistling noise each time it started.
Be sure to say "Hi" to Cindy in the breakfast area, she makes staying there worth while, as do the rest of the staff. Very good choice if in the Bessemer area, clean rooms, pleasant staff and excellent breakfast
Excellent staff, breakfast and amenities Staff was very professional, rooms were very comfortable, easy access to highway and lots of places in close proximity to eat. Wonderful staff, beautiful hotel
Sheet weren't changed as they should have been . Beds weren't made up . The eggs served for breakfast were like rubber the biscuits were hard on bottom it appears they were sitting for along time . The only positive the dining room area was clean . It could have been better all way around .
After staying at Best Western in Bessemer, AL, I must return. I had a wonderful time. The staff were superb!! The breakfast were clean, fresh, and delicious. I only wish you serve dinner. Our rooms were clean and I have no complaints.
Hotel stunk of cigarette smoke, there was a toy behind the bed- which was extremely dusty. Room had not been vacuumed. Animal toys under the AC unit- that didn't function correctly- was set on 68 but had to be at least 72, everything was sticky, sink in bathroom stopped up, shower was full of mildew and had not been cleaned very well. Only good part was the front desk staff. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived late at night after being on the road for 5 hours so we sucked it up, stayed the night and got the heck outta there. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Overall I had a great stay. The hotel is clean and I did not encounter any problems. The bed was comfortable. The shower was hot. The breakfast did not taste very good to me tho..if I were to stay there again I would skip the breakfast and walk over to Crackerbarrel.
There were so many awesome, professional and caring people I encountered. My first person was Ms. Dee. We had a small situation that occurred my first night at the hotel that was beyond her control but she went above and beyond to get the situation corrected. The following morning, I stopped by the desk to double check to make sure everything was still good from the previous night and I had the awesome opportunity to talk with Ms .Georgetta who checked on the notes from the incident. Georgetta was so sincere, caring and sorry about the incident and made sure we were pleased with the outcome. Ms. Georgetta and Ms. Dee display a genuine dedication to the general public who choose to stay at the BW Plus and are both very professional and courteous!!!. These ladies are a true asset to the company, I must also add these two ladies are phenomenal!!! The housekeeping staff I encountered by the name of Kayla and Olivia were so polite, professional and accommodating. They were friendly and each time I saw them both, they had a smile on their faces. Kudos to Ms. Connie Gibson and her staff. I will definitely stay at the Best Western Plus in Bessemer, AL again and again!!! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel. Cyndi T.
This is a very nice and clean hotel. It has beautiful decor and the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept which includes some five star hotels. Good full breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A very relaxing time.
The rooms were nice, the hospitality was excellent and the staff were very caring. Breakfast is okay and the internet works really well. What we moved me the most is the compassionate staff, a family member had an accident and when I informed the team as to what happened. They responded no problem we will take care of it.
spend the night here was very pleased with this hotel wish we could have taken it with us for every night of our trip great room and very good breakfast food was well supplied and everyone was extremely kind and friendly
The staff was very friendly. The staff let me know the room will be around 12 but when I got there around 10, it was ready and that was great because we traveled a long way. I ordered three rooms and all of them was perfect size for our family.
The women at the front desk were extremely friendly. They made our night. We enjoyed talking to the sweet lady that checked us in at 2:00 in the morning. She was friendly and made sure we had a great stay there. We would definitely stay at a Best Western again.
The rooms are very large and seperated with an island for coffee and refridgerator items near the microwave. The rooms are very comfy and the beds are pefect. I would highly recommend this location. I have stayed at this faciity before and will again when I come to town. Close to everything including the water park
Very nice, clean hotel. Well worth the extra 15 minute drive from the interstate. Rooms were very nice and staff was very helpful. The pool water was a little murky from the recent rain but they made every effort to fix the issue.
The morning of check out, I asked the general manager for some Face towels so the I could wash my children's face and get them ready for the day. The general manager said that I needed to bring the other towels back down so that he could give me fresh towels, I obliged. When I brought them back down he proceeded to ask me how many people were in my suite? I told him 6, myself and 5 children under the age of 8. He told me that the room sleeps 4 which I completely agree, but that's 4 adults not for children. When I told him that they were kids, he got smart and said "aren't they people too?" I told him not the insult my intelligence because he was being completely rude to me, and I was checking out in a few hours. Not to mention, our toilet had flooded and they sent us up a plunger and we had to fix it. Moral of the story, I will never stay there again and maybe no other best western period.
Good value for the money. The room was very clean. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The sheets very of good quality. The television was large enough. The staff was nice and courteous. Registration was a breeze Checkout was pleasant. Both the woman at check- in and the man at checkout were exceptional in making sure that my experience would encourage a return stay. I would definitely stay there again.
My family was moving from one state to another and this was our half way point. We were so thankful that our pets were welcome and the breakfast was definitely appreciated the next morning. Great staff
I was completely impressed with my stay at this hotel location. The service was wonderful. The breakfast was good and presented in a very clean and prepared manner. For the amount that most hotels require for a stay this location gives you what you pay for and I will gladly return in the future. The decor was was beautiful and the premises was quite clean.
On our way home we decided to pass by Birmingham stay here. The property has a pleasing appearance and there is plenty of parking available. It has been highly rated on TA so we had no fear of getting disappointed. The staff was excellent. Connie the GM and Tobi the front desk person were very friendly and professional. Our problem was the room we were given. It had a terrible odor, a mixture of cigarette smoke (all rooms are non-smoking) and disinfectant. I called down to Tobi and we were immediately given another room which smelled much better although it still had a lingering disinfectant/cleaning agent odor. Then around 12:33 in the morning we had the fire alarm sound. It wasn't much fun hanging out in the parking lot while the FD tried to ascertain the problem. There was no fire or other danger present but the alarm kept triggering. The hotel staff handled the situation with professionalism and did their best to apprise us of the problem. We finally got the all clear and returned to our room. However, the next day, both my wife and I had numerous small bites on our arms and legs. I don't think they were bed bug bites but may have been flea bites. Breakfast was an enjoyable experience with plenty of food items available. The dining area is sufficient to seat many guests and was kept clean at all times. The Wi-Fi was adequate in all areas of the hotel. The property overall is clean and well maintained and the rooms are large and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and, with the exception of the fire alarm, we had a good sleep. The flaw is that there is no guarantee that any particular room assigned will not have had pets in it prior to giving it to another guest and the smell of the cleaning agent.
BW Bessemer was one of the best hotels I have stayed in I stay about two to three night a week in motel if there was I BW in every city they would get my money hands down clean rooms clean parking nice pool and gym
The hotel was clean, the staff were very friendly, our room was clean, the breakfast was good, the location was great; it is next door to some good restaurants and some shopping centers. The hotel location was also very quiet for being close to an interstate.
We stopped here on our way to North Carolina and I have to say it was the worst experience we have had at a best western ! We walked into our room and the smell would knock you down !(yuck) The bathroom door was broken and wouldn't shut unless you picked it up ! If your going to charge these rates I would expect that you would fix the problems.
i would advise any one ounce you stay in one of these hotels you will never go any were else great place and people if i were on vacation i would find this hotel and become a memberas a reward coustmer
We had 2 rooms for 5 seniors that were in town for the Senior Games. We stayed for 5 nights. The staff was great and the rooms were average. On the first night we had a group of men pound on the door across from us at 1:30 in the morning. Then they stayed outside the door talking very loud. They finally dispersed after I opened and told them they were waking everyone up. When we spoke to the male manager the next day he was very understanding and asked which room number they were pounding on and assured us they would to be allowed to stay another night. We felt good about his response. On our third night we asked the staff if we could sit in the breakfast room and have our pizza and play Farkle. They said of course that was no problem. They even cleaned off he tables for us. We were in there from 7:00 PM until 8:45PM. During that time Connie the manager went through twice and never said anything. Then she sends an employee to kick us out of the room. You could tell the employee was uncomfortable doing it. We were shocked. When we tried to talk to the manager she was too busy to talk to us. The staff was great but Connie the manager lacks customer service skills. This has definitely left a bad taste for us and this hotel. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
I received great service from the time I checked in til checking out. Staff were very friendly and professional. The my room was nice, clean, great floor plan and was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
We only stayed here one night but it was a pleasant stay. Impressive front lobby - front desk clerk was very friendly and was there again in the morning when we checked out. Comfy beds. Did not care for the soap-like smell upon entering the room but you got use to it quickly and didn't notice it. Didn't care for the sink being outside of the bathroom. Bathroom had a toilet and tub/shower combo and was small. Nice room decor. My husband said the complimentary breakfast was pretty good (except for the gravy) and I liked the coffee and pastry he brought back to the room for me.
Loved the clean smell of our room upon entering, professional and friendly staff. Great breakfast variety and clean eating area. We loved our stay and pet friendly room! Had our Sr. Citizen mother's in a room across the hall and they too were happy with the accommodations! Thanks for reasonable rates and an overall great experience!
Our king suite was different than any other we had stayed in. The living room was closest to the window, and the bed was near the interior, assuring no road / parking lot noise. The standard divider was half solid/ half glass. All of the furniture matched, unlike most places. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast room was separate from the dining area, and looked good, although we did not eat here. I would k=love to stay here again.
Breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and professional. The manager was always present during the day and checking with guest that everything was acceptable. I had minor difficulties with my key card deactivating but the staff always alleviated the problem quickly and efficiently.
This hotel was top notch! First of all, it is beautifully decorated and inviting. Georgette, and the front desk staff were so friendly, caring, and accommodating. Our room happened to be ready early which was a blessing for us. The room was super clean and the bed was absolutely comfortable. Everything we needed was only steps away. The dining room was such a nice and cheerful place to relax with the delicious breakfast bar that offered such a variety of home cooking. Deborah and the other staff were so friendly and helpful. They made our stay such a pleasure. We highly recommend this hotel when traveling thru Bessemer.
Great hotel, very clean. Incredibly nice staff, very helpful. Stacey at the front desk really took care of everything with a great attitude and very likeable personality. The breakfast was top notch. Thank you Best Western.
Try the Best Western Plus Bessemer Hotel & Suites of Bessemer Alabama when you are close by. It is the best place in the area due to the great staff that run it. You will love it. i've been staying there for more than 10 years.
The staff here is always friendly and helpful, whether they are at front desk or maid service. Rooms are spacious with all the amenities. super comfortable bed. Their included breakfast has a variety of items, including hot items, breads and bagels, cereal, juices, fresh fruit. They keep breakfast items well stocked and eating area clean.
GM Connie, FD Georgette, & Allyson, and the cleaning staff were the best. They all went " Above & Beyond " to make sure that my stay was enjoyalble and pleasant. I stay there everytime I am in the area. We need more people like them.
Great hotel, never consider any others when in this area. I stay in hotels at least 12 nights per month, this hotel is by far my favorite. Always a hassle free experience, which is much appreciated. Special thank you to Cindy, who is the breakfast hostess, for always having a smile at 5:30 in the morning and treating me like family every time I stay!
Very inviting, clean and uncluttered as well as decor more upscale than lower end. Staff were excellent especially Deborah who always provided a warm smile and "good morning" as she kept the breakfast area clean and fresh. The king suite was very roomy and perfect with a microwave and small refrigerator. The only issue would be to have king pillows for the king beds. We had 4 small pillows. There's no extra blankets if needed. The weather actually got into the 50's in May. Overall well pleased.!!!
This was a very nice stay for an overnight .The rooms were clean great furnishsing. Great hotel staff. Very good breakfast bar selection. My only problem was the tv in the breakfast roms set on CNN with distrubing disgusting parody of the President. No matter what party very disrespectful and it made me upset when they trash his family also. Guests were also upset. Other than that it was great
Stayed here for one night while travelling through Alabama, while i didn't have reservations the staff were very happy to book me in for the night. The room was clean and comfortable with 2 queen sized beds for 4 people. There are restaurants across the road and on the other side of the interstate. The desk staff and the cleaning staff were all very polite and friendly and really made you feel welcome. Even though it was only one night, i had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
We recently stayed at this motel while attending a conference nearby. The location is very convenient and easily accessible to the interstate. It is within walking distance to several restaurants. The motel was clean and quiet during our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with typical motel hot and cold items. We would definitely stay at this motel again.
The rooms and the hotel was very clean. I asked for a room that had not had pets in it with no smoking, because of allergies with a family member. We were accommodated. My overall experience is rated as a 9 which is very good.
Check in/out was good. Staff was helpful. Average breakfast. Warped door to bathroom (reported to front desk), Bathroom sink area and sink area were not properly cleaned. Bed was comfortable. The bat and sink areas are well overdue for remodeling.
We traveled 9 people in our group, 5of which stayed at Best Western, 2 stayed at a near by hotel, and the other at another near by hotel! Both had problems with their rooms! We were completely satisfied.
This was the last night of our 10 day road trip and we were so glad we stopped here. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was the best we have had on our trip. Cindy does an excellent job. She was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. There was a slight odor in the room- maybe from the air conditioning unit. Other than that our stay was very comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and told us about places to eat and even where we could get a discount. The room was very nice and clean. Loved the layout and separation of the kitchenette and bedroom areas. Nice comfy bed, also. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again.
Excellent staff very friendly and helpful. Nice hotel, pool was not yet open in mid April with outside temps in mid 80's all week. Was not important for my stay, but verify pool status if this is important to you. Nice breakfast included with hot sausage or bacon, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. Waffle maker also available.
Stayed with my family for a short weekend stay while we visited family. The staff was very nice specially the lady that worked in the breakfast room. There was a great selection for not only the adults but also the kids as well. The beds were so comfortable. The hotel itself was very nice and clean overall. Will definitely be our permanent hotel to stay at when we visit Alabama.
Very pleasant and comfortable . Staff was very friendly and professional. Everything was very nice and lovely. When checked in and settled I had a good positive astomsphere where I was in a good state of mind of peace.
We needed a room for the night, two and four year olds. The staff was very helpful getting us a room and showing us the amenities. At check out the power was out but the staff was very helpful. Will stay again
This hotel was really great for the price. It had a nice hot breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable. the hotel was easy to get to and had free WiFi. The staff was really courteous and great!
Great local option for visiting University of Alabama. Close to Restaraunts, Redbox, and local shopping. Great pet policy if you need to travel with pets. Barely noticed other pets at hotel. Very clean hotel
We stayed two nights at this hotel over Thanksgiving week. It was the halfway point between our destination, so we stayed one night on our way out and one night on our way back. The value of this hotel is great. Clean rooms, good breakfast and great staff.
I've stayed at this hotel numerous times. Quality of accomodations and staff service is always good, though the price is a bit higher than (IMO) warranted. Breakfast was typical budget hotel fare: fried "eggs", paper-thin bacon (ran out quickly), biscuits and other breads, cereals, waffles, coffee and juice. Game day, so the hotel was pretty full.
This hotel has very nice employees. Stacy, in particular, was very helpful and gracious to us. The accommodations were comfortable, and the hotel offers a variety of breakfast items. We stay in this area frequently, and will stay at this hotel again in the future.
A lovely hotel. The staff are professional, kind, considerate and extremely helpful. The hotel is clean, modern and comfortable. I stayed here 2 years ago for a death in my family and stayed this time for another death in my family. The staff was so kind and compassionate. I felt safe in my room and the room amenities were great! Thank you, Best Western in Bessemer, Alabama! I will always stay with you when I travel to Bessemer!
The stay was amazing. I didn't want to go home I could live out of a hotel like that breakfast was hot and fresh every morning never had to ask for anything had clean towels wash clothes they have everything a girl needs
I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the service provided. When I initialy booked the room i had selected was unavalible so i was upgraded for free to a larger suite. Everything went well during my stay. I was disapponted that i left before i was able to enjoy breakfast.
We stayed here for just a night and left the following morning. This was more of a night halt on our way to Smoky mountains. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. They have a full breakfast with lot of options. Overall, a satisfied stay. The reception staff was quite friendly.
Excellent value for the price. Conveniently located near interstate. We stopped here on the way to our destination just for an overnight stay. We liked it enough to reserve a room in the same place for the return trip.
Wonderful stay. Hotel is very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and pleasant. The rooms are not fancy but very nice and very clean. The breakfast is basic but will do if you would rather not go out to a restaurant. Very easy access to the highway. Restaurants are nearby as well as some stores.
I found this hotel very quiet with clean rooms and very nice staff . Near restaurants and the highway. The room was ready when i arrived and everyday the room was cleaned like new. The a/c in the fitness room was not working.
Me and Mom went to visit her old college professor in Birmingham. We stayed here two nights. LOVED the breakfast! Ms. Deborah made sure the spread was on point!!! Comfortable beds and the place is CLEAN. There's a Waffle House, another restaurant & an Applebee's across the street, so you won't be hungry.
this hotel was clean and pleasant. the staff was very helpful and knowledgable of the surrounding area. the rooms are a descent size, plenty of room. the b r eakfast was good and plentiful. enough for everyone. would stay there at any given time.
My son forgot deodorant so my wife went to the front desk to ask if they had complimentary deodorant. Receptionist said yes and gave her deodorant. A week later I have additional charges on my credit card and they now claim that the deodorant my wife got was not free and that it was charged to our room. We asked for complimentary deodorant, we did not ask to buy any. Just another trick to get more money out of guests. Will not stay there again!!
Georgette was helpful and friendly. She was very helpful and honest when we asked for help on a restaurant choice. Room was comfortable. Shower was excellent. Breakfast was ok. It would be nice to have a little more variety in the hot foods. But it was typical
I was looking for a pleasant place to stay on the western side of Birmingham AL, & I checked out the Best Western Plus in Bessemer Al,! What caught my eye was the landscape & how clean it appeared. When I went into lobby area it was also clean with friendly staff! I was Sold!! My wife & daughter was overwhelmed on how clean the rooms were we had peaceful sleep beds were so comfortable & breakfast the next morning was fresh & everything was sanitized a big plus! Needless to say this is our favorite spot to just get away with out traveling out of town & enjoy! I want this exact hotel to come to Fairfield Al ,as I am the new city councilman I brag about this hotel & recommend it to our new mayor & council members to experience what we need in our city. This place is highly recommended to anyone!
I did not have a reservation. We were not able to plan where we would be by what time. I've enjoyed other Best Westerns so we thought we would walk in on this one surrounded by quite a few other hotel/motels. We were greeted very kindly and we were able to negotiate a little lower rate than they quoted us when we walked in. Friendly greeting, room was on first floor as we requested, neat, clean and a great breakfast. Newer TV, with Free Internet. Only one draw back was that we could not get the Thursday Night football game. They didn't have that channel available. I very rarely give out a 5 star but they have a high 4 in bok
I was here for my niece's graduation from Paul Mitchell School. We were also there to help pack her up and relocate her back to North Carolina. It was a happy and stressful time. I chose to stay at a hotel since my niece only had a 2 bedroom apartment. I'm glad I did. It was so nice to have a quiet place to relax after long days. I would return to my room each evening to find it clean and stocked (towels etc) . The staff was great. Dionca, was especially nice and helpful. When leaving the hotel, if she was at the desk, she would wish me a pleasant day . When I would return, she would greet with a smile , often reminding me if there was anything I needed she was there. I noticed she greeted all customers in the same friendly manner....... I travel frequently and spend a lot of time in hotels and resorts. It's always nice when you are made to feel at home.... Dionca (? sp) is the kind of employee that every hotel needs. She is the girl that if she doesn't have the answer about a restaurant etc. She will call a friend (and she did) . This is what I call going above and beyond. "Yes, I could have googled " but I didn't have to. I was made to feel at home so I did what anyone does when they are made to feel at home... the ask in house. Thanks again Best Western and staff for a wonderful Stay. I would definitely stay here again , if I am ever in Birmingham again.
We were in own for two family funerals. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great! The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've slept on ever! However, the doors in the room could use a good wiping down after each guest leaves. I tried to buy a pillow but it was to early for the staff to access storage and we were leaving before someone came on duty with access. So sad about that! ?? Really great place and Cracker Barrel is right across the street!
Large rooms, helpful staff. Easy to find with easy access to Interstate. Quiet, clean rooms. Comfy beds. Absolutely Wondeful breakfast bar, never saw such a great variety and area was very roomy. Whole grounds were clean. Great value!
Very clean hotel, the staff was accommodating, but i couldn't get any straight answers concerning my bill. I was charged twice, one by Expedia and also by the hotel. When asked, for management there was no one there, yet there's a sign stating manager on duty.
The Room Was Cleaning, Staff Was Nice They Even Let Me Check In Early. Drove From Georgia So That Was Very Nice Of Them And Love The Breakfast. I'm Very Picky About Were I Stay So I'll Be Back When I Come To Birmingham Again
The staff is just amazing. From my first day till the last day everyone I interacted with was extremely helpful and very friendly. Really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be back. The exit has many hotels and I have experienced a stay at two others, but I'm so glad I decided to stay at Best Western this time. The staff was so accommodating, the room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was perfect.
The service was great from the beginning until we left. Georgetta who handled our check in and check out was outstanding. The whole hotel was very clean as well as the rooms. I highly recommend this hotel !
The staff at the Best Western Bessemer Alabama our stay was excellent service, cleanliness , location just what we need here in town for a funeral that is in this area of the city Thanks You Staff for great direction .Super housekeeping Staff
Very nice hotel. Quiet, spacious room, plenty of hot water. Large bars of soap. Good TV and internet. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice breakfast area and plenty of food. Front desk and other staff friendly. Great value for the price.
Overall my first time at Best Western was a pleasant one. Hotel lobby, corridors, and guestrooms were all very well maintained and delightful. I also enjoyed the breakfast accommodations and guestroom amenities.
The location was great! Staff was really friendly and very helpful. Not only was the room super clean but the entire hotel was kept super clean. The beds were super comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning as well. Wonderful experience overall. Will definitely be back.
We stayed at the hotel for a few nights. The staff were so friendly and helpful and not only that, but the hotel was so clean and tidy even as you entered the reception. At the front desk the staff were incredibly polite and helpful with all our enquiries. The room was very clean and well kept and the bed itself was comfortable. That bathroom was also spotless. In the morning there was a good selection on offer for breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed and even the internet connection was good. The location of the hotel itself was perfect with many shops around the vicinity. Overall a brilliant stay, and we will be back to stay here when we are next in Alabama. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
The fitness room needs upgrading - old, poorly functioning equipment. Also the rooms could use some basic maintenance, but overall good experience. Facility was clean and the staff was very pleasant. We would stay there again.
Overall we were okay with our stay. The person at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. We found the grounds and hotel to be clean. We did experience some discomfort from the noisy neighbors across the hall, but it was a weekend and we can't blame the hotel for that! Our room was comfortable and looked to be clean; however, the person who serviced the bathroom could have put forth more effort, as we did experience an unpleasant odor from that as soon as we entered the room. The breakfast had a good selection and the area was well kept. Next time we are in the area, we'll consider giving this hotel another try.
the hotel was very nice and clean. the room was very comfortable and the internet was very good. the breakfast was good with lots of things to chose from. there are also several restaurants across the street to chose from. everything was excellent.
This was a stop over on our way to Florida and it was everything I would expect from a Best Western. The bed was wonderful as are all Best Western beds. The room was very clean. Breakfast had a good assortment of hot and cold items. Overall a good experience-and would stay here again.
I guess the "Plus" in the name actually does mean something. This place is updated and clean with ample parking even for RV's and trucks. Attentive front desk (Allyson) person was great as was the breakfast in the morning in a large and airy room off the lobby with plenty of selections including some hot dishes. The suite we took (because all the other rooms were sold out) was huge with tow bedrooms and separate baths as well as comfy sofas in the common area. Fast check-in and check-out at a $161.00 for two people in the suite. Great location for dining (though the restaurants in the area do not deliver). There's an Applebee's across the street as well as 3-4 others in the immediate area. Right off of Rt 20 Great value!
The room was very clean and spacious. The food bar was good and constantly being restocked. Staff was very friendly. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area. This was an unexpected stop for us. But a good one.
Make sure the bathroom is spotless, Good location to eat and shop, close to necessities, quiet, and appears safe. Close to Birmingham and in route to Tuscaloosa. Close to the water park, which is good for children. Go area to have a family reunion due a civil center in the same area. Breakfast appear to be good and coffee is great. exercise room, and pool area was appealing. Also, had a varieties of TV programs.
Great location right off the highway, clean and comfortable room, quiet floors, delicious breakfast and friendly staff. We stayed here twice on our vacation ... once heading north and then on the return trip. We will definitely stay at this hotel again! It's an excellent choice.
Hotel clerk was very nice and polite upon arrival. Rooms were very nice and clean, comfortable beds, breakfast was good and not over crowded. Good and safe location with restaurants nearby. Will definitely stay again!
I live in the area but had a best friend coming for an overnight visit. We had not seen each other in years so we wanted to stay up most of the night " catching up". I rented a room here and it was PERFECT!!! No one was disturbed at the house and me and my BFF had a fantastic reunion and complimentary breakfast! Thanks Best Western! You ARE the best.
We have stayed here frequently and would recommend it to anyone. Best bed I have ever slept on away from home. Spotless rooms and areas. Pool and all. Excellent breakfast each morning and great coffee. Location is near many top notch restaurants.
I was in Birmingham visiting family over the Memorial Day weekend, and stayed in Bessemer. All of the staff that I came across where always willing to assist in anyway possible and we're always smiling. Check in was a breeze and very quick. Stopped by breakfast and was surprised at the choices they offered. Much better than most hotels that charge your. Will definitely stay again when I'm in town.
My room was very nice and clean and smelled fresh and clean. I had all amenities in my room and all appliances worked. The furniture was really nice and the beds were really comfortable.I only had interactions with 2 employees, one of which came into my room without knocking and the other was connie at check in. She is the manager but she seemed like she wasn't interested in anything going on with the hotel or guests and she didn't smile a single time. This did not turn me away from staying at the hotel and it did not affect my stay but it was very displeasing as a guest as well as an employee at another Best Western Hotel.
The staff is very unprofessional, rude - one in particular clearly has a "ghetto" background. They will check you into your hotel, prior to your arrival, they even threatened to cancel my reservations due to the full capacity that they were that for the night of my stay. I specifically told them to notate I would pay with gift card and they still ran my credit card. Very rude, I would not stay with them again, nor would I recommend anyone staying with them.
The frames were falling off the doors and you could see the light in the hall through the door frame! And not just a little bit! They gave my sister a hard time when she arrived because of her dog and made her pay more! That was never stated in trip advisor. I will not use trip advisor and I will never stay at Best Western in Bessemer Alabama again!
Remembered why I choose other hotels over Best Western. There was a $20. Pet charge, ok then why is there a $40 pending hold on my card 2 days after checking out? There were other issues also, but I did tell them I would NEVER stay at another Best Western ~
We were travelling through on our way to New Orleans and stopped in this hotel after looking at reviews online. We got there about 1 am and couldn't believe how cheerful and courteous the staff was. We felt genuinely welcomed immediately. Our rooms were a good size and clean. And they have a great breakfast! A lot more than the typical cereal and muffin. A GREAT deal for the price!
Pleasant staff and excellent service. We were there over Mother;s Day and every staff member, including cleaning, wished us Happy Mothers Day as they passed. They were all very pleasant and eager to supply all our needs.
Rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and eager to serve! One down side of the room they do not have exhaust fan in the restroom. There is a beautiful Koyie pond in the front of the hotel with a waterfall it is very relaxing and nice the staff let us feed them one afternoon that was cool.
We were unable to get a hotel room in Tuscaloosa for graduation and had to "settle" for the nearest room 35 miles away. Our expectations were low, but the minute we pulled into the driveway we knew it was going to be much better than we thought! The staff was so friendly and pleasant...from the front desk clerk, to the maintenance people, to housekeeping, to the breakfast room staff...every employee went out of his/her way to smile and speak. The rooms were spacious and well thought-out. So many amenities and very close to Tuscaloosa. Instead of thinking about Best Western Plus Bessemer as a last resort when visiting Tuscaloosa, I will make plans to stay there first! Great job!!!
appreciated the inside corridors and elevator. well lighted parking area. The beds were very, comfortable! The staff was very helpful to arrange the kinf of room we needed and offered to accomadate in any way possible!
This was our first stay here. We were very impressed with the staff. They were friendly and extremely helpful. The clerk who checked us in even went to the trouble to roll a luggage cart from near the front desk to a different entrance so that we would have available where we parked. The hotel was clean and quiet during our visit. The bathroom linens were nice and thick. We'll definitely be back.
Evidently the rooms around us had been rented to high school students celebrating their prom. They were extremely loud, obviously high/drunk, with lots of shouting and banging on doors. Management seemed unwilling to do anything to get the situation under control. The next morning when I checked out, the reaction of the front desk was "yeah we know about it, sorry". We got almost no sleep, and had a long drive ahead of us, not a good combination. I don't know why they would rent to kids, and why they did nothing to control the situation which was clearly out of hand.
Three friends and I were recently travelling for a week through several southern states. Our first stop at Best Western Plus was a pleasant surprise. We received a friendly welcome from the staff; the rooms were clean and bright, and we were close to a number of good restaurants. The breakfast buffet was very good. Overall, I would say that this hotel is much better than most within the Best Western chain. Would definitely stay there again when travelling
Although not considered a high end chain, this Best Western Plus has amenities that are normally found in much higher priced hotels. The staff is friendly and very helpful and the rooms are spacious and clean. The hot breakfast include with your stay is more than adequate and the food is always fresh.
My family and I recently stayed at this hotel due to the "newly renovated rooms" advertisement and found that it was not exactly true. There were stains on the ceiling and floors and bathroom had black mold in the corners.
great stay at this hotel. staff was excellent. rooms are clean, breakfast very good. several restaurants within walking distance. staff was very helpful. had hot breakfast in am. plenty of parking visable on monitors for staff visability.
I have been here many times and I have found the staff and the hotel to always be top notch. After being on the road for at least 6 to 8 hours, I unload to a clean room and walk across the street to Applebee's then enjoy my down time. The next day is always a good start with the breakfast provided.
We stayed here to prevent an early morning drive in bad traffic. It saved us a lot of time and missing the appointment the next day due to traffic accidents. The room was really nice with a fridge, coffee pot and a microwave. The only problem was a dirty remote. Everything else was clean and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast was a full meal with eggs, bacon and sausage along with cereals and muffins. We were impressed.
If you have a chance to travel on Highway 20/59, visit the Best Western Hotel and Suite of Bessemer. You won't regretted it. Excellent breakfast set up, lovely staff, very comfortable bed in a spacious rooms, fast internet service
We really enjoyed our stay at Best Western in Bessemer, AL. Very nice. Staff very helpful & friendly! We made last minute reservations and didn't have any trouble checking in or out. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice and comfortable stay! Highly recommend!
I enjoyed my stay at Best Western. The only problem I had was that a hold for double the amount of my stay was placed on my card when I only needed one night. Other than that, my stay was great. Regardless of the issue that I had with my card, if I were to be in that area again I would stay in this hotel.
Had a wonderful stay. Staff was very hospitable and helpful as well as respectful and courteous. Will be back to stay there. Rooms were neat and clean. Bathroom was clean and the grounds were kept up. And would recommend that if you are going to stay in that area for business or pleasure to check in a room there
Business requires me to travel around but I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It being my first time in Bessemer, the staff was very helpful and knowledgable to the area. The rooms were extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect with a good variety. Overall an excellent experience with this hotel. Would definitely recommend for anyone to stay here, and would stay here again myself when in the area.
Wonderful hotel, i was impressed how friendly the staff was and how clean the rooms were, The breakfast was good and they had a good variety of items for everybody. We look forward to visiting again when the pool is open.
You get what you pay for. Not a 5 star hotel but fine for a quick stop on the outskirts of Birmingham where hotel prices (in the city) are much more expensive. Had to track down the front desk receptionist at check in and I wasn't real keen on how our room was on the bottom floor so close to so many main and side doors. But the room was clean and sufficient and the area seemed safe.
The staff was. Very friendly and provided great customer service at check in and out the lobby as well as the rest of the location is very clean and well maintained , quest rooms are very clean ,I love the fact that the hotel is pet friendly, the set up of the rooms is good check out was as pleasant as check in
The rooks were nice and security is on the premises. The problem I had was there was hair on the shower wall, the lady at the front desk was caught sleeping, hair in my fresh towels and the noise from the people next to me. When I walked out and asked them to quietend down but there was about 13 people out there cursing and drinking.
Room service was good and my room was always clean. Staff was always polite and the hot breakfast in the morning was always delicious. The gym was always very convenient and relaxing. I would most definitely return for a second stay.
I really enjoyed my visit at this hotel! I was skeptical at first being that I have never been to this hotel/ area. However the room was very clean & the staff was very polite and respectful. We would definitely return as future customers! Prices were also reasonable compared to other nearby hotels .
This property is one of the best I have ever visited in a long time. The staff is very attentive and courteous. The rooms were very clean and up to date. The front desk staff was amazing. Breakfast was great, a large variety to choose from (we had very picky eaters). I will use this property from now on. Thanks Best Western Plus for a wonderful experience. My family will be returning
My room was absolutely appalling and disgusting. Body hair all over the bathroom as well as dirty toilet and used tissues and toilet paper on the floor, bodily fluids on chair and bed. Sheets were damp at spots. Stains on the floor, smelt of urine, smoke, and alcohol. Staff was rude, and accommodating. Refused to move me to a different room or even a light clean. Accused me of being "high maintenance" and "overly sensitive". Insisted that the room was up to standard, and that the things I was complaining about were not harmful to me. That there was garbage receptacles in the hotel room, if i wanted to dispose of any garbage left behind. They told me to clean it myself!
This was a great visit, the room was nice and clean and the people were very friendly and very helpful. The work out room was clean and worked well. The bed was very comfortable. This has become my first choice for any future visit to the area.
Our recent stay at Best Western Plus Bessemer Hotel and Suites has been a very good experience. The rooms were very clean; the bed was very comfortable, something you never know what to expect from one hotel to another. The staff, especially the manager, Mrs. Connie Gibson were so professional, yet down to earth and pleasant to work with, always asking how they could assist us or if there was anything we needed. My compliments!
We had a wonderfull stay ! Nice hotel with frienly and professional staff , clean room with good housekeeping service and great breakfast . Good location close to interstate , and also has restraunts witin walking distance.
Room was not cleaned thoroughly, guests screaming in the halls at 1am, stains on carpeting and on walls, overall a disappointing stay. The area of town was a bit rough and I stuck close to hotel for meals.
Great Clean hotel-Great service , I would recommend this hotel 100%, best BW I have stayed. Room was clean, front desk service was great! Good midway stop from Charlotte to Dallas! I would stay again, what else can I say!
Looks like a nice hotel, but on arrival, phone would not work. No dial tone. Told no hotel in area allows dialing 800 numbers. Finally got a dial tone and used local number for phone card. Second morning there, found I had been eaten by the bedbugs. Not a great experience.
We have stayed at a few different BW Hotels along I-59 and believe this is the one to visit again. Very convenient to I-59, gas and restaurants. Cracker Barrel and Applebees are adjacent to this property which was a nice bonus. Good breakfast and well attended. It is an older layout but freshly renovated. This met my wife's approval. We were offered bottled water for our trip when we left and that was nice.
We stayed in 4 different Best Western hotels over an 8 day trip. This was a good hotel--not the best, but very good. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Our room was clean and well maintained and had the best layout of any of the 4 BW we stayed in on this trip. The hotel as far enough away from the highway that traffic noise was not a problem.
This Best Western was very clean and well kept. The beds were wonderful to sleep in and quiet. Will definitely stay here again. The price was very good for the high quality of the hotel. Easy on and off the highway to anything in or around Birmingham, Alabama
Only stayed for one night, was in town for business. Hotel is very nice and secure, close to many restaurants and a gas station. Everyone I encountered was very friendly. Nice little fitness center. Good breakfast. Would stay again.
Attended a benefit and stayed at the Best Western. The atmosphere and hospitality was outstanding. Rooms were very comfortable and the beds were great. Breakfast was very good. I would recommend this hotel in Bessemer AL. to everyone.
I stayed at the Best Western for a short stay cation of rest and relaxation. The front desk staff was courteous and very professional. I booked the executive suite and wasn't disappointed at all. The suite is huge and has two baths, dining area, kitchenette, living area with a sofa and two chairs, separate bedroom with an attached bath and a huge closet. What a gem I found in Bessemer. Did I mention two baths? The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to check out. Breakfast was delicious too. Nevertheless if you are in Bessemer area this is a must. You will not be disappointed!!!!!!!
we stayed here as we were passing by and I had read the previous reviews. Well , let me tell you they were right on the money. The hotel was great the breakfast was great, the staff was friendly and great. We made a great decision and I am so glad we did. If we are ever down this road again I definitely know where to stop.
Nothing out of the ordinary at this hotel. It is a good hotel just off the exits on the south end of Birmingham. The exit has about 4-6 other hotels. The area is safe and has some restaurants within 5 minutes. There was a strong smoking smell in the hallway right outside our room. We alerted the front desk and they started looking into it right away. The problem was the smell was already in the hallway and was seeping into our room. Towels under the door helped and it was cleared up by morning. Toddler was already asleep or we would have asked for a new room.
Very nice hotel, Clean room with wonderful beds.Breakfast was great with so much to choose from and very nice attendent. The staff is so Couteous and Connie treated us like Family. We will definitely stay again!
Previously stayed at this hotel when visiting family in the area during the past 4 years. The location is easy to get to from the motorway and there are eating options in walking distance. It is clean and has friendly staff.
Very nice hotel for the price, secured, and the staff was great. I would choose BW Plus for my next trip. The hotel was clean and quite. You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner without having to drive any distance.
This is one of the better BW hotels. It is clean and staff was very polite and courteous. Breakfast was much better than average with eggs, sausage, yogurt, and granola. Will definitely stay here again.
A MUST STAY AGAIN!!!! We enjoyed our over night stay at the Best Western Plus Bessemer, Alabama. The rooms were perfect, the front desk manager was AWESOME and VERY WELCOMING checking us in tonight. We will be back again for sure!!!!
If you like "barking Dogs" all night long on both sides of your room then this Hotel is for you, Paid for King suite and when I asked front desk about dogs was told it was due to over booking Pet Friendly rooms, I will not stay here again. Should change their policy to service animals only !!!
We stayed for 3 nights. Convenient to restaurants, stores and the interstate. Staff was very friendly. This is a "pet friendly" motel and walking my dog was easy and I felt safe. Many food items on the breakfast buffet. Rooms were very clean and my daughter, who used to work for a motel chain, inspected the room and was surprised at how clean everything was.
A comfortable hotel to stay in. The room was clean. Everything worked. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very pleasant. We would stay there again. This was a very good hotel that I would recommend.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus in Bessmer, AL. It is a newly renovated hotel with all the amenities, and they were in great condition. From check-in to check-out, we were made to feel welcome by staff; like it really mattered that we chose to stay at the hotel as guests. The full breakfast had variety, so there was something for everyone to enjoy (even though we do not eat pork). The attendant was very pleasant. We recommend this hotel without hesitation.
We were moving from Savannah to Dallas and had planned to drive to Jackson, MS however with a move it never goes as planned. With said we had to find a pet friendly hotel and only Best Western was it although a great hotel overall however it was Brian that was a lifesaver. I told him our situation and the dogs wre a bit over 25 and he said come on we have a room. We didnt have to sleep in the back of the SUV with the girls. Brian was professional, friendly and wonderful. And to top it off I needed, wanted, a glass of wine and no clue were I put the opener. Went to the front desk and what do you know, Brian came through again. Brian.....THANK YOU!!!!!!
This motel offered everything I would want in a Best Western Plus, with two exceptions. The main problem from my point of view is moldy smelling rooms. I accepted a second room, but came to realize that the A/C in that one was also putting out a moldy smell. Otherwise the rooms, beds, lobby, and breakfast were excellent. On departure, I intended to leave a tip for the housekeeper, but forgot to do so. As we were driving down the road, ring went the cell phone with a call from the clerk asking politely if we had driven off with one of their pillows. No, I replied and realized then that I'd forgotten to leave the tip. That was that, but come on, really?
My wife and I stayed here for a football game. The hotel was vey nice, service was excellent, and most of all room was clean, quiet, and bed was comfortable. I will not hesitate to book this hotel again when we come to see our daughter at UA or attend a football game.
