We stayed at the Acqua Di Mare from March 29-April 6. Upon arrival, our room was spacious and clean. However, we experienced ongoing issues with housekeeping. The door sign for cleaning frequently blew off due to the wind, which resulted in our room being cleaned when we did not request it, and not being serviced when we did. This lack of consistency was frustrating. We also attempted to book an excursion through Acqua Di Mare. Initially, a staff member offered a whale shark excursion for $250 per person, including the opportunity to swim with them. Given that whale shark sightings are rare, I sought clarification and was later told she had meant nurse sharks. While she then recommended a snorkeling tour to see sea turtles and seahorses for $80 per person, the experience did not meet expectations. The guides appeared very young (under 16 years old) and lacked professionalism. The guide in the water moved quickly and did not take time to point out marine life or allow us to fully enjoy the experience. While we understood that wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, we later learned that seahorses are typically found at depths not accessible on this tour. This raised concerns about the accuracy and transparency of the information provided. We also encountered several issues with basic services during our stay. One evening, our toilet would not flush, and by the next morning, there was no running water at all. There was no communication from the hotel regarding this outage. After inquiring, we were informed there was an issue with the water pump and were advised to use buckets of pool water to flush toilets. Running water was unavailable for approximately 19 hours. The following day, we lost all electricity and running for several hours after an external incident, which we understood was outside the hotel's control, but again, no communication was provided. On our final morning, water was shut off once more without notice, and only restored after we reached out to staff. At checkout, we shared our concerns about the lack of communication. Staff offered to refund one night of our stay and indicated someone would follow up within 10 days. After two weeks with no contact, we followed up via WhatsApp and were told a manager would reach out. To date, we have not received any further communication or the promised refund. Overall, due to the repeated service issues and lack of communication, we would not recommend Acqua Di Mare.

We stayed at Acqua di Mare Resort in Roatán from December 18–31, 2025, in Unit 441, a two-bedroom unit that was nicely furnished and very comfortable. The unit featured a fully operable kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher, making it feel truly like a home away from home. Although breakfast was included, we often chose to prepare our own meals, which was easy and convenient given the well-equipped kitchen. The Smart TV was also an additional plus given that it rained on many days it was great to have access to premium streaming and NYC channels as a source of entertainment. Overall, we had a very lovely stay, but there were a few drawbacks worth noting. Daily maid service, including towel changes, was inconsistent. We often had to remind staff that our rooms had not been cleaned or that we needed fresh towels. Additionally, it rained frequently during our stay, and on a few days there was a strong, unpleasant sewer-related odor near the entrance where we parked our car, which detracted from the experience. That said, Patricia, who managed the front desk, was outstanding. She was extremely attentive, responsive, and genuinely cared about our needs. We truly wish all staff members operated at her level of service. She made a meaningful difference in our stay. The beach area was a pleasant walk away, with easy access to beach chairs and umbrellas, which we appreciated. The beach staff there were exceptional and were truly the stars of that part of the experience. Overall, Acqua di Mare has strong potential to be a wonderful home away from home. With improvements in housekeeping consistency and attention to infrastructure issues, it could easily become an excellent resort choice in Roatán.

I choose this hotel for my wife's birthday and it was a superb place to visit. It is just steps away from a white sandy beach. The rooms were luxurious and had everything you can think not only to stay for the one night for weeks if you wish to stay. The roof top restaurant was breathless. The sushi was unreal. Acqua di Mare has set the bar high can we cannot wait to return.

I visited Acqua di Mare with my friends, and we loved the comfort it offers. It has excellent service, elegant facilities, delicious dishes, a great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. I loved that West Bay Beach was just a 5-minute walk away. I enjoyed every single day. I want to go back and live this experience again.

5/5 It was perfect for our vacation days with friends, we cooked together, enjoyed the spectacular pool all day, and the day pass at San Simon Beach Club was the best. We had breakfast included in our room, it was the best for those days when you just want to rest, We will definitely be back.

My 6 day stay was nice. This place was beautiful. My 2 bd rm condo was nice and clean. 2 days we didn't have hot water. But Only compliant I have is the wait staff is very slow order food and it took 35-40 min and we basically were the only 4 people there. There was construction for new builds but it wasn't bothersome. The food was just ok Suggestion: get pool activities for guest, pool parties. Easy access to the beach and walk distance.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. From the moment we walked into the lobby, the stench was unbearable—a nauseating mix of construction dust, sweat, and stale air. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning in the common areas, making check-in an immediate sweaty, uncomfortable nightmare. Then came the first of many unpleasant surprises: a $70 “cleaning fee” that was never disclosed at the time of booking. When we asked about it, the front desk clerk immediately blamed Expedia instead of taking any accountability. At that point, we should have just turned around and left. But it gets worse. The condo was filthy—not just slightly dirty, but absolutely disgusting. • The master bathroom shower was caked with filth and looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks. • The sinks were covered in thick, crusted-over calcification from extreme hard water buildup. • The quilt in the master bedroom smelled revolting—like rotting fabric soaked in sweat and mildew. We had to strip it off immediately and grab bedding from another room just to be able to sleep. And if that wasn't bad enough, let's talk about the complete lack of access to the washer and dryer! What sense does it make to lock the laundry room inside the condo and refuse guests access to it? Ludicrous! We stayed here for four nights and couldn't even wash our clothes. That's completely unacceptable and just another example of how poorly managed this place is. We complained the very next day, only to be met with excuses, dismissiveness, and zero solutions. The staff clearly does not care about maintaining a clean or comfortable environment. Instead of enjoying our stay, we spent most of our time searching for other places to stay next time because we will NEVER return. And after reading through other reviews, it's clear that cleanliness issues are a recurring problem here. I wish I had paid more attention to the warnings from past guests.

The perfect romantic getaway! I spent 5 nights with my boyfriend at Acqua Di Mare, and loved everything about it. The breakfast was delicious, the beach was amazing, and we enjoyed the Sushi Nights at Wave. The location is ideal, restaurants and dive shop was nearby, also we booked several activities. We will definitely be back next year!
