Je m’inscris Been staying at this property two to three days each year for the last 13 years! Well located, good food very nearby. As always a great staff, all around. Always great service, caring management. Recommend this property to all traveling in the Wittenberg area
Very friendly staff, great breakfast, nice clean, large swimming pool and jacuzzi, quiet place, right on exit, close to food and gas station, very well priced in area, close to casino, very courteous staff. I will definitely stay again if passing through this area
Great place to stay! Clean rooms, quiet, great breakfast, many choices. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. I stay here many times during a year for business. There is a restaurant and gas station really close. There is a nice place in the back to sit outside with tables. I have never used the pool, but it looks very nice. I highly recommend going to Rachels Roadside Bar and Grill just on the other side of Hwy 29. Wonderful food!!
I am not lucky with hotels. I seek quiet for a good night's sleep and that is apparently difficult to find with any hotel. There is always noise and sleep disturbances it seems even though I always request a quiet room location. This hotel appealed to me when I first stayed there 3 years ago to bike nearby trails because it is set back off the main road, but vehicles and semis travel on a BP gas station entrance road in front of the hotel so I requested a room on the backside that faces forest and I did the same this time. So this is what happened my recent 2nd stay. My husband wanted 3rd floor and the room we were assigned seemed like a quiet one but the TV didn't work and my husband really wanted to watch Wimbledon. He messed with it for awhile trying to get it to load and then called front desk. Paul, who manages the hotel, came up immediately. He couldn't get it to work either. Because the room seemed like a quiet one I didn't want to move but my suggestion to change out the TV apparently wasn't an option. The hotel had many open rooms but we were given the choice to move to a suite at no extra charge which we thought was a nice gesture, but we wanted 2 queens, not a king. And the suite was closer to the ice machine which is an insanely noisy monster and never seems to shut off. So we asked to move to a room next door to our first room instead after Paul made sure the TV was working in that room. After moving our stuff, and there was no talking and our transition quieted down, we realized there was a loud annoying hum. At first I thought it was the ice machine you can hear all the way down the hall but with our room door closed I realized it was coming from elsewhere. Again I called front desk and Paul came up immediately. I thought it was a fan next door left on but it was a fan in the attic that could be heard loud and clear from the new room, but not in the old room. Again Paul offered to move us to 2nd floor but by then exhaustion had set in. This whole process took a good couple hours and we were already exhausted from checking out of a motel that morning, biking 15 miles on a trail, driving an hour in pouring rain to this motel and then a 2 hours process to get a room due to the non-working TV and other complications! So I decided to just put up with the noise from the fan in the attic. Although Paul was accommodating, the extra time and effort to move to another room was caused by a non-working TV, which then caused us to get a room with an annoying noise, exactly what I didn't want. I feel everything should be working in a room! We should not have to be inconvenienced by that and management should be monitoring rooms and know what does and does not work! It shouldn't become the guest's problem! We are paying plenty for a room and feel we should not be inconvenienced and our time taken up with non-working items in a room. In the 2nd room, the bathroom fan did not work! And then something happened that I never expected! Fireworks were shot off right next to the hotel by hotel management and were extremely loud in our hotel room!! In Wisconsin, any firework that leaves the ground is illegal unless a permit is obtained, insurance obtain, bond paid and a professional attends the display! And that is because they are so dangerous in so many ways and terrify people, pets and wildlife! I don't know if all those conditions were met or not but I don't feel it is appropriate to set off fireworks at a hotel where people may be sleeping and may be terrified of the noise as many are. We decided to vacation that week and stay at a hotel to get away from the illegal fireworks in our town and then that happens! We had no choice but to stay in our room and endure the noise! So what is good about this hotel? Excellent continental breakfast and their employee Kristie is a wonderful kind, compassionate and understanding person who is a real asset to this hotel. The rooms are spacious but not the most comfortable beds and pillows...not like what we have experienced in other hotels but they weren't terribly uncomfortable either, just not plush. Rooms were clean. No microwave however! And no sitting chair! I don't mind dated furniture as long as it is comfortable and in working condition. The hotel has some class. The small frigs are housed in an enclosed cabinet...another issue! Refrigerators run hot in an enclosed area and frost up. The elevator is loud and the ice makers on each floor are insanely loud and need updating. Paul did say they were getting updated TVs soon but they weren't in time for our recent stay. Conclusion? Paul tried hard to fix the problems with our rooms and get us into a quiet one, but it took up a lot of our time and it shouldn't have. My guess is the 3rd floor is the least booked and maintained, probably only booked when the first two floors are filled, but we requested the 3rd floor not knowing it wasn't top working order. Everything should be working in a room and the management should know which rooms have issues and which rooms are quiet, given the hotel isn't full and there are choices in rooms. We were charged more for the 3rd night, which was a Thursday night which management said was why we were charged more for that night, yet the hotel wasn't nearly fully booked. So I don't really get the upcharge for a Thursday, plus we stayed 3 nights in a row. It appears management tries really hard but I think the hotel's age requires some upgraded equipment. Elevator was pretty jerky and loud too. Keep in mind I am just unlucky...I never seem to get a quiet motel room but maybe you will. There is a very cute outdoor patio behind the hotel. Now that I did appreciate. Give it a try, the staff and management are nice and service is great. They do try to please their guests!
Staff was friendly, entrance and lobby area clean and smelled good, complimentary fresh fruit at front desk. Inside pool clean and open. Room was clean and current. Morning breakfast had lots of options: scrambled eggs, sausage patties, hard boiled eggs, make your own four-mini-waffles, assortment of bread, English muffins, bagels to toast, assortment of mini muffins and donuts. Three choices of dry cereal, yogurt even had non-dairy milk options for the cereal.
Smelled badly , the room was dirty. Just not well kept up . And for a $140 room expected it to be better. This would be a $65 room. You know what to expect
The owner and staff are friendly. They are very professional in making sure guests are happy. Very clean.
My window was open the whole stay. The birds in the wooded area behind the hotel serenaded me and complimented the quiet classical music I played on my computer as I worked crossword puzzles on my phone. I did not use the wifi as I brought my own mobile hot spot. Our family wedding event at the Pike Lake Farms Wedding Events Barn (lovely venue) was a mere 16 minutes away. Other than the challenge of being a tall person using the very low toilets, we had no complaints. The inn was easy to access and suited our needs perfectly.
Nice Place, good location, gas station across street. Firm beds. Pool and Hot Tub- even offer pay for visiting guest to swim, nice breakfast area and options, banquet area w/bar available doe reservation.
Have stayed ar this Best Western since 2015. We keep coming back because it meets our needs plus more. It is very clean. It is quiet. Staff is always available and responds quickly, if needed. Their rating should be A++++++
The pool and hot tub were heated and clean. There was no smell of urine like in other hotels. The bed was great! Slept well. The room heater worked great and was easy to sleep with. I did struggle with the internet. Could of been my phone I dont know. I stayed for 3 nights. The breakfast had many options and I was pleased. I have no complaints. I will stay there again.
Front desk workers were very friendly and pointed us to a good restaurant in the area. Breakfast was good besides the usual continental items they had eggs and sausage. The rooms were well kept and clean. I definitely would stay again
The safety lock on our door was busted. Front desk staff was very kind and hot breakfast was awesome. Room was clean and quiet. Didn't have a chance to use the pool, so can't offer an opinion about that. This was the most we have ever been charged per night for any Best Western in the past couple of years, so that part was an unexpected bummer. Overall good experience.
Clean motel, attentive ownership and staff, and no problems. Just needs som updating of TV system and amenities. The A/C unit and especially the in-room fridge were so noisy that we turned off the fridge overnight. Clean is most important and it is clean! But for $160+ for the overnight we simply feel it needs to improve by renewing and updating. On the other hand, it's a quiet and comfortable stay.
Be aware I reserved on line and used (thought) a $50 loyalty credit. The online system required a couple of numbers which I inputted and it appeared to take as my on line rate appeared to have been reduced by the $50 award. I did not mention the award at all on check in. When checking my emailed receipt I noticed the award in fact was not applied. I checked back directly with the Hotel, they stated they couldn't do much and suggested I reach out to the BW awards Dept. I explained my issue to them (Corp) also.. Corp stated it didn't appear that the award applied correctly. It was I suggested I use the award on a future stay and bring the award to the hotel upon check-in. Unfortunately I likely won't be staying at another hotel prior the the awards expiration. The rep even went on to say the online/award facility was new and there may may be some hiccups. Best to give the hotel a copy of the award email certificate upon check-in. The hotel itself was fine just didn't appreciate that either the hotel or Corporate didn't offer to make good on the apparent slip-up. Bottom line I would suggest you be careful in using the so called award certificates.
Overall beautiful landscape and building. rooms are very clean and staff is very nice and helpful. nice breakfast. Love the location. is close to a truck stop with a restaurant, otherwise the location is quiet with corn fields and forest. we used the handicap rooms and we had a support dog so the room was on main floor. Has a nice place to walk dog. We will stay here 2 x a year.
This hotel is very clean. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. The area is very convenient. We found good restaurants nearby, and of course you have to make a visit to Nueske's while you are there.
This hotel has easy access with clean, well-maintained grounds and building. check-in and check-out was efficient with friendly, helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable, and the pool area was clean and treat with all the windows. Also loved the breakfast: the dining area was comfortable and the attendant kept on the move keeping all the choices available. This Best Western is worth the stop off the highway!
My wife picked out this hotel in part because it had an indoor pool and hot tub. She knew we would be getting to the hotel after a long drive and thought it would bring a pleasant ending to a trying day. Getting there, we were tired and when we were told the hot tub wasn't working, I wasn't feeling too positive about our stay. So, the front desk staff moved us to a large room with a hot tub and it turned out to be a very nice ending to our day after all. I didn't see anything at this hotel that wasn't spotless. A very comfortable stay with a decent breakfast in the morning. We would stay here again.
The rooms are fairly clean. The staff is mostly friendly. The owner/manager and his wife have bickered are argued the three nights that I have stayed there. I also got the same complaint from some of my friends who have stayed here. I'm not sure what the problem is, but they better get it figured out behind closed and sound proof doors.
I'm very impressed! Kristi at the front desk and the breakfast venue was very accommodating and I'm also impressed with the quiet location and the selection of food we had. Everything is very clean I left my car unlocked and full of expensive items but had no worries about it at all.
This is a great place to stay! The staff are all like family, and work really hard to provide an excellent stay for their guests! The room was very clean, and the breakfast was amazing! Fruit was very fresh, beverage choice were generous, coffee was great, hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, bacon) were delicious! Something on the breakfast buffet for everyone-in my opinion!
Loved the large, open lobby and breakfast area. Spacious rooms. Wonderful pool area! Good breakfast with hot eggs and sausage. Theresa is a great staff member who was attentive during breakfast and asking about our stay as well as made sure I got my points put on my account for staying!!
We've stayed at this hotel many times over the years and always have a great experience! Kristi is the best and always goes out of her way to be sure the guests have a great experience! The staff is very helpful, friendly and accommodating!
We stay at this Best Western often as it is like our home away from home! Their friendly staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. Rooms are very nice and spacious. Nice sized swimming pool & hottub, great hot breakfast and 3 local casinos promo coupons!
Short family stay, helpful staff, family atmosphere. Clean, quiet, nice pool and hot tub. Great breakfast area, convenient parking, good location. Kids enjoyed the stay. Would stay again over another local hotel. Price is much more reasonable.
Outstanding clean facilities, professional and friendly staff! Very warm, outgoing staff, very understanding and addressed any concerns promptly and correctly. Very knowledgeable of services and offers in surrounding communities.
A great place to stay in a beautiful part of Wisconsin.. There's so much to see and do, and the best Bacon Maker in the State (Neuske's) is right down the road. there's great golf, fishing, and casino entertainment nearby. The Best Western Hotel is clean, well maintained, and has a pool and hot tub to enjoy. All and all, we enjoyed our stay in "PARADISE"
There are new owners that took over since we stayed here 2 years ago. The place is so very clean, rooms are spotless, very nice owners also! Can't wait for a return visit! And if you are staying there to go to the HoChunk Casino up the road, make sure you stop by the front desk, they have $10 coupons available for free play, awsome! And also, wonderful WiFi!
If you are looking for a top notch, clean, reasonable hotel to stay at in Wittenberg, This best western is the best around. Staff goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable!!! The rates are low compared to other places. We've been staying here for years and never had a problem, always leave with great memories!
Clean environment, personable staff. Breakfast staff person made eggs and bacon to order. She was welcoming and friendly. Desk staff ensured all our needs were addressed. Room had a clean, fresh smell. Everything in the room was clean
Everything was excellent. We'll stay here again in the future. The breakfast was fresh and delicious with a great variety of hot and cold items. Room was clean, workers were polite. Pool and hot tub were nice but hot tub jets didn't work great. Was still well worth it!
We stayed on Super Bowl Sunday and the staff gave us a ride to our party which was very helpful. Staff was also very polite and friendly. We had no issues with our stay and used the hot tub and pool and also had excellent complimentary breakfast. I was also able to use reward points for the stay.
Kristi at the front desk remembers us from visit to visit. We stay at the Best Western Wittenberg before and after Packers games. She is cheerful, helpful and always makes us feel special. Breakfasts are great and there is a comfortable overflow area behind the main breakfast area. We love this motel!
the entire staff here was so friendly and pleasant. our bed was a little firmer than we like and are used to, so pillow top mattresses would be a plus. breakfast was hot, tasty and had a lot of various items.
I got a suite to be able to relax while out for business. The amount of dust and dirt made me and my fiance question. Aside from check in you never saw any employees. Pool had algae growing, hot tub piles of dirt at the bottom. Elevator sounded like it was going to go out. We noticed the fan was clogged with dust. Our whirlpool in the room was extremely loud and had little pressure. Shower had very little pressure and didn't want to shut off. Heater vent was busted with tons of debris in it. I expected alot more from a hotel with awards and that had cleanliness signs everywhere. Glad the bed was the cleanest even though it was way to soft.
Frig didn't work, microwave missing. Couch missing and no rack for suitcase. I have stayed here before , but it seemed to have gone downhill some. It was the only place with vacancy so I didn't really have a choice.
This is my 4th trip to this property in the past four years. I stay here once a year to attend an annual military show. As per my previous stays, this continues to be a nice property. The lobby, hallways, dining room and grounds are well maintained. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The return of the hot breakfast, post covid, was welcome. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. I will stay here again next year.
Excellent staff. Very clean and nice. From start to finish, everything went perfect. Easy check in. Easy check out. Everything was ready for us upon arrival and the staff went above and beyond our expectations to make our family gathering memorable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
We stayed at many BW in the past and they were all good but this one was exceptional. The service we received was outstanding. The desk attendant was joking with us, gave us good recommendations and everyone we came I contact with was extremely pleasant. That is so hard to find in today's day and age, it was refreshing. So refreshing that I wrong this review, which is something I don't usually do but they deserve to told about.
The beds are hard as concrete. I honestly feel that sleeping on the floor would have been a bit softer. The room was way smaller than the pictures made it seem. Not too big of a deal breaker. Security locks on outside doors not functioning.
There is new people running this Best Western and they are very friendly and professional. Hot breakfast was a great relief to have back. The Hotel was very clean and fresh smelling. The rooms are very nice.
This is an excellent hotel with a restaurant, store and gas station in the same complex. It also has minute access to main roads. The hotel itself has a pool, hot tub, bar area and an outside area to gather. Paul and his staff are always accommodating and go above and beyond.
Check in staff was very friendly and helpful. Property was easy to get to from the highway and has a restaurant within walking distance that I noticed has a lot of truckers that pulled in. (always a good sign as to where to eat) The interior is dated, but has been well maintained. It was a quiet location and the blinds were blackout which is nice. Has an older wall unit for room temperature control and worked well. Good selection on the tv, and had a channel line up as well as a sheet to give tips or pointers in the area. The beds are okay, not a board, but super firm either. The pillows, if anyone follows my posts, are a biggie for me, they were actually decent in that they did not go flat when you put your head on them. Plenty of towels, minor things I suppose is that there was no soap dish holder for the hand soap. The shower head was older, but worked fine, Good water pressure and temps. Allowed for traveling with a pet which was well appreciated. The pool was warm, and the hot tub was not too hot. Nice hours for those. The jets on the hot tub worked, though a couple were a bit tired. Like I have been saying, dated but it is well maintained. They ACTUALLY had breakfast!!/ Had scrambled eggs, toast, sausage, waffles, yogurt to name a few. Having stayed in a couple of different hotels in the past week, let me tell you, this is far and between. Oh yeah, and REAL eggs, not that powdered stuff. If it was powdered, fooled me. All in all, I would stay here again as the friendly staff, a real breakfast, hot tub, pool, quiet room and being able to travel with a pet, makes up for anything else.
We had the suite and it was nice and big. Everyone was very friendly and the facility was clean. My only problem was, my fiance and I took the elevator from the 3rd floor and we got trapped in the elevator. After pressing the help button we were only in there for about 5 minutes, but enough time for my claustrophobic fiance to start worrying. Then when we finally got out of the elevator the staff person didn't apologize or anything and kind of brushed it off because it's happened in the past...So in conclusion, clean hotel, friendly staff, clean pool and good breakfast accommodations despite COVID...just don't use the elevator. Thank goodness our children weren't in there with us. They wanted to watch cartoons in the room.
The hotel was safe and the staff was kind but the hotel needs work. The wall paper in our suite was wrapped and there was black mold on it. The tils on the floor were coming up and the grout was coming lose. The pool and hot tub were very dirty. It seemed like the sand filter wasn't working. They also need new pool towels. The beds are rock hard and the pillows are smaller than average.
We had a wonderful two-night stay. Paul checked us in and out. He was friendly and professional. I had made a note when I booked our stay of our room preference and we got just the location of room we were hoping for. Rooms and all common areas were clean and inviting. Bed and pillows were comfy and the heat in the room was easy to regulate to our liking. Shower water temp and shower pressure were wonderful! We spent some time in the hot tub, and it was the perfect temp and the pool/hot tub area was well kept also. The hotel was nice and quiet at night. The perfect location for us to visit friends and go casino hopping. We will definitely stay at this location and other Best Western locations in the near future!
We stay here two or three times a year when we're visiting casinos in the area. In addition to an accommodating staff and exceptional clean rooms, they give you vouchers for the three local casinos. The getaways are made even better knowing that we booked a winner hotel.
This hotel was very clean and all the employees were very friendly and helpful. A substitute breakfast was provided due to the current pandemic situation, so that was nice. The location suited us because of the hiking we wanted to do in the area. I have been staying at this hotel for almost 10 years and will continue to do so.
Paul and team were available 24/7 to help with any requests, very personable employees were all very gracious and helpful. The cleaning person for our room was very accommodating since I had to work from the hotel on Friday, did video conferencing and had no issue with the wireless internet. Will definitely stay there again.
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and hada the amenities you would expect. The refrigerator actually keept our things cold. The to go breakfast was a great option during this social distance time.
Great location, very quiet, clean, roomy had everything we could want A microwave and refrigerator and I have never had so many free channels on A TV in a hotel before . And the breakfast was great, hot food and plenty of it.
Overall great experience. Fast check in. Clean room, friendly service. Plenty of options for breakfast and hours were 6-10. Price was a little high but overall I'd recommend it and stay here again. I think it was slower than normal due to coronavirus.
I stayed here two times in the month of February. Both times it was wonderful. The staff is friendly, rooms were clean. breakfast was good. During the snow storm, the parking lot was cleared. The pool is nice size and the whirlpool is large. Walking distances to a local diner.
Other than the pool having too much chlorine that ended up affecting our daughter's eyes where she needed two doses of Visine, it's a great place to stay. Clean, beds were comfortable, good breakfast. Heating/cooling unit fan ran continuously even though we didn't have the fan on. Toilets can use a replacement as they are much too low to the ground. I had injured my knee before our stay, and if it weren't for the grab bar by the shower, I would have needed help to get on and off it.
We stop here to stay when we end up having a over night which about once a month. Our drivers have quick access to a fuel station/ restaurant in the same parking area. They have breakfast that starts early so the driver can get feed before he heads out for the morning.
Staff was friendly and very helpful. the have a casino package and she was ready with the coupons for the casinos and right on it. Check in and out were fast and easy. The pool was clean and wasn't too cold, can't do really cold pools.
My husband and I planned a nice get-away weekend and it happened to fall when a winter storm hit. Even though there was a lot of snow we hard a warm stay! The lady who checked us in was super nice and continued to be nice & helpful throughout our visit. There was a great selection of breakfast items and everything we had was good. The pool & whirlpool were clean and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this Best Western.
We have been coming to this hotel for years and have found the staff at this hotel always goes out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one, so when in the area we wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.
On our way to a Packer game at Lambeau Field, we stayed in the Best Western Wittenberg Inn the night before to break up the 5+ hour trip. It's only an hour away from Green Bay, so the game-day drive was not bad at all. The best part is that the rates are what I would consider 'normal', as opposed to the highly inflated rates in motels within Green Bay on game weekends. Upon checking in, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable the room was. We requested an extra roll-away bed and the request was honored with no extra charge - nice! The morning complimentary breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, and all the usual breads and yogurts. Overall we had a nice experience at this motel, and the BP travel center next door offered a huge menu selection for dinner. I would definitely stay here again.
rooms are clean and everyone is so friendly great breakfast and staff kept up real good replacing food nice pool area and hot tub i keep coming back close to the casino and was able to get casino coupons
We have stayed at this Best Western frequently as it is close to a favorite casino. The casino now has its own big modern hotel but we continue to return to the Wittenberg Best Western because it is always homey, spotless and has extremely friendly, helpful staff. The pool and whirlpool are large, the perfect temperature and with lots of windows. We were even upgraded to a king suite this time which was greatly appreciated.
I rediscovered Best Western on vacation earlier this year. This Best Western more than met my expectations. Clean comfortable room, friendly helpful staff. Felt valued as a customer. Cindi, the lady who kept the breakfast stocked was friendly, greeting you with a smile. Will certainly stay there again if back in the area.
This was a last minute stay on a road trip. It was clean & comfortable. Had a nice sizable warm pool area with tables and chairs. Hot tub was closed for maintenance which was disappointing but they couldn't help that. Kind of in the middle of nowhere so not too many restaurants around but overall a nice experience.
No shortcomings during our stay. The breakfast was FAR above our expectations. Great Central Wisconsin location with easy access to Green Bay, Wausau, Eau Claire and Up Nort. :) Ad to this, it's a stone's throw from Nueske's meats(Arguably, the best smoked meats on the planet).
My tire blew on the highway, and if not for Best Western and especially Chrissy, I would have had no were to sleep for the night. Chrissy was absolutely pleasant and put my mind at ease. She informed me of all the services and even attached my Rewards Membership to my stay when I had forgotten. She made a bad situation, not so bad. She is a valuable asset to Best Western.
would recommend highly, our room was wonderful, quiet and so clean, will be returning any time we go to the two local casinos/concerts. prefer the services, breakfast and pool/spa over casino rooms 100% well worth the extra drve and cost.
My family had a block of rooms. We traveled from all over the U.S. Everyone on staff was helpful & kind. The rooms were clean & there was a nice variety of food for breakfast. They took care of us during a tornado warning by putting us in a meeting room until the storm passed. We enjoyed our stay 110%.
We stayed 1 night here. It is located off hwy 29 next to a truck stop with nothing else around. Wittenburg is within minutes. The staff was very nice and our room was clean. Toiletries were missing in bathroom but no big deal. It could use some updating the brown colors made the room kind of dreary. BUT the price is reasonable. They do have a pool & hot tub.
Their name says it all BEST Western. I am glad i joined rewards membership. No more guess work booking rooms by photos. With BW's I have no worries of how my stay is going to be. Guaranteed clean rooms Pleasant and outgoing staffs from the time we check in to the time we check out
Manager and staff were very cheerful and accommodating. Meeting room was set up as requested, fresh and clean, plenty of ice water and glasses available. If we needed anything the staff was right there to help. Our guest room (accessible King) was clean and bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was very prompt and thorough.
Manager SallyJo and her staff did an excellent job of accommodating our families(15 +). including seniors, teens, toddlers and infants. The pool, ballroom, breakfast area were perfect for our gathering. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The breakfast included good options hot and cold and started early for those having early flights or other events on Sunday. Definitely recommend this hotel for any type of stay. Thanks again SallyJo, Rachel and team
Just needed a relaxing get away. This was a perfect choice. Quiet, comfortable, and wonderful service. Breakfast was good. Close to a restaurant and easy to get to. The manager Sally Jo was very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.
Great place - The staff was very polite and caring. The breakfast was hot and delicious with plenty to choose. I did not get a chance to enjoy the pool this trip, but it looked very inviting. I will definitely return to this location in the near future.
Have stayed here many times and have always received excellent service and nice rooms. The only complaint I have is they jacked the price from the normal weekday price of $72.00 to $167.00 just for New Years Eve night.Other than being way overpriced for the holiday its a nice place to stay
I've stayed here an multiple occasions. The rooms are reasonably priced. Nice quiet location with clean rooms. Very friendly staff and good breakfast. Nice pool and hot tub. Doubled my money at the North Star casino.
Just your typical standard hotel room. Nothing more to see here. It did at least have a mini fridge. We chose here because for only $20 more a night you can have your dog. Room was clean. Hotel was quiet. Continental breakfast was average. But it did at least have warm scrambled eggs & sausage as an option in addition to your standard muffins, breads, etc. Good location right off the hwy we were traveling on.
Have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years and think its a very nice hotel but compared to other hotels in the area it seems to be overpriced. Was thinking of staying here on New Years Eve of this year but it looks like they have jacked the prices way up for that night.
Great price for the package we did. Convientlay located by the highway, we had an end room and it was very sound proof didn't hear the highway noise at all.Krisity at the front desk was so great we were having problems with a gift card and she helped get thing fixed. Kristy also went out of her way to find a fan for my husband.Room was clean very comfortable.Great place to stay.
Very clean & kept up facility, having a pool & hot tub a plus, had a room that wasn't suppose to be rented out and staff tried to make up for the problems that occurred. Breakfast was satisfactory and area well stocked & clean, have stayed there numerous times and always treated well. Easy on & off of major highway.
Anazing Deal. The hotel staff let me stay in pool after it was spoused be close. If you Are going too this town make sure to stay here. Could use better singage to lead people. Will stay there again if in area.
Our car club went for a ride to Iola car Show and stayed at the Best Western in Wittenberg. Very nice and clean motel with great staff. They have a lounge, pool, and provide a breakfast bar. We all were very happy with our rooms and the price was good too
Stayed for 2 nights (Mon, Tues). Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast had a lot of food to choose from. Good coffee also. Pool area was neat and clean; loved that there's towels to use. Room had a mini fridge which was nice. The best perk is the FREE $10.00 rewards per person play for 3 area casinos (Ho Chunk- Wittenberg. North Star-Bowler, Menominee- Keshena). You get all 3 for each night you stay there. TIP: Go to the hotel first (even if the room isn't ready) to get the rewards first and then hit the casinos. The only downside is the town doesn't have a lot of restaurant options. Would stay here again.
Stopped at this hotel on our way to Eagle River. It was a very nice room people were friendly breakfast was nice and included and rates were reasonable. Wittenberg was a nice small town with artistic touches with brightly painted murals and friendly people.
We like Best Western and this hotel staff treated us well, with an upgrade to a suite. We should have complained about the smoke smell, but we are not complainers, I guess. Otherwise, they need to add more receptacles for chargers, etc. Breakfast was not great, but free.
We like the room and the amenities. Very clean and tidy. We appreciate having breakfast included. The decor is attractive. We did not use the pool but did see others enjoying it. We really enjoy staying here! It is handy to have a fridge in the room also. Thanks for the comfortable visit!
I had stayed at this property about 30 nights over the last 9 months. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Most of them call me by my name and check to see if my stay is going well. The GM runs a great team here. My rooms are always clean. The pool is very nice and the breakfast area is spacious and well supplied with fresh food. There are so many choices from eggs, waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, and much, much more. As you enter the lobby there is a 2 way fire place, the other side is in the dining area. There is also a large gathering space, meeting room, and an exercise room. So much is offered for a very reasonable price. The grounds are well maintained and there is plenty of parking. I highly recommend the Best Western in Wittenberg.
Rooms are spacious and clean, bed was very comfortable. Front desk friendly. Not super close to town but make an effort to visit the WOW center. Just be prepared for the loudness of the doors as they shut. Started at 4:00 AM...Otherwise recommend this hotel.
We recently stayed at the Best Western Wittenberg on a Tuesday night as a last-minute Spring Break getaway! It was just a quick overnight trip since my Spring Break was the week leading up to Easter, and we could not get away for very long as a result of that. We enjoy traveling to this area of Wisconsin to go to the casinos and to see my aunt and uncle, who live on a farm near Shawano. In fact, this trip was so last-minute that we did not even make our reservation until 11:00 on Tuesday morning when we made the decision to go up for the night. We had originally tried staying right at North Star Casino in their hotel since I had a coupon for a free weeknight stay there, but they were booked on such short notice. I had stayed at the Best Western Wittenberg a few years back, and I had a great experience then, so I suggested trying there for a room, and they still had availability! We were very happy that they still had rooms available on such short notice, and we got a very reasonable rate. I chose to do a prepay option and got the room for only $76, or just under $90 after all tax for the 1-night stay. This is a really good deal for such a nice hotel these days! It is about a 3-hour drive for us to get to the Wittenberg area, so we were arriving to check-in by around 5:00 in the afternoon. The front desk worker was friendly and efficient, and everything was all good to go with my having prepaid for the room. She only needed to have a credit card on file for any incidentals. The entire check-in process was very quick. We had a standard room with 2 queen beds on the 1st floor, on the front side of the hotel. We were near the opposite side of the building from the lobby, so it was convenient parking near the door on the far side of the building and only being about the third room from that entrance! Our stay here was very quiet, and they did not seem super busy with other guests. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had no issues with the room. After getting our luggage in and getting settled in, we did not spend a whole lot of time here before heading out to North Star Casino for the evening to do some gambling. This is a convenient location for North Star, as it is about 20 minutes away using some quieter back roads (county highways). We returned at about 11:30 in the evening, and we felt safe upon returning with the good lighting in the parking lot. There is a gas station/truck stop right up the street, which is a cul-de-sac dead-end, but we were not kept awake by truck traffic at all. We all slept soundly here, and we woke up in the morning feeling refreshed. The continental breakfast was enjoyable, and there were only 2 other groups of guests down there when we were at about 8:00. We enjoyed the scrambled eggs, sausage links, donuts, pastries, waffles, English muffins, and more, and the coffee was fresh and strong! This was a nice breakfast to start our day. After breakfast, we used the indoor pool and whirlpool for about 45 minutes, and we were the only guests down there for that entire time! The whirlpool was very warm and relaxing, and the pool was nice for a quick swim. This entire area seems very clean, and it was nice having the sun shining in the large windows! We got showered and ready to go after that, and we were checking out at close to the 11:00 time. The morning clerk was also friendly and asked how everything was with our stay. I would return to and recommend the Best Western Wittenberg, and I always enjoy the feeling of seclusion in this part of Wisconsin. It has the feel of the "middle of nowhere" while still having things to do in the area and services available, like restaurants, shopping, etc. We also checked out Nueske's before heading home, and this is a worthwhile stop for their applewood smoked meats, as well as other specialty foods. I personally love their bacon, and it is only a few minutes from the hotel! This was a fun overnight trip, and we were happy with our last-minute accommodations at Best Western!
This was my first time in the area and my first stay at this hotel. Jenna was super sweet and helpful and took care of all of my issues. And she did it with a smile and I felt like I was treated with respect. Kristi was amazing as well. Very pleasant and personable. She also made this stay the best it could possibly be. But I did have to change rooms a couple of times. The first room had a dirty bathtub and the second room wasn't well lit. The third room was okay, but it was also pretty dark and there was a gross stain on the back part of one of the chairs and the microwave looks like it was from prehistoric times. My jacuzzi tub didn't get hot and it took a really long time for the tub to drain. This is an okay hotel. Jenna and Kristi were spectacular, though. I'd be willing to give this hotel another chance. I just wish I had a better overall experience with my room.
Great place to stay. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, continental breakfast is outstanding, room is great and plenty of parking space. Coffee always available and a wonderful fireplace especially during these cold winter days in Wisconsin.
We booked last minute and they had a room that we wanted ready and waiting. It was very nice and no problems at all. The breakfast was a nice touch and it was very good. The pool and hot tub were great and the in room whirlpool was amazing large and comfy
Wish the Outdoor sinage at motel entrance was much larger. Difficult to see at night. Good thing we checked in during daylight hours or we may have been driving around looking for it. Heard this was not Best Western' s fault.
We stay at the Wittenberg Best Western when we come to the area to visit family and we always appreciate the friendly staff, clean rooms and reasonable rates. We highly recommend the Best Western Wittenberg Inn!
My guys have stayed here for 3 weeks now and will be staying for another 3 and they love it. They do not get off work until 2 in the morning and get to come back to the comfort of Best Western it is awesome.
This place was great. Much nicer than we had planned. Very clean, warm pool even I could get in with the kids! The staff was incredibly nice and very welcoming. Great breakfast for everyone. Even healthier options.
I stayed at the Hotel for three days and experienced allergy. To my surprise, I found out the guest across the hall had a dog. I do not have a problem with hotels allowing pets, but I think they have to let the guests know. One has the right to decide, bit in order to do so, one needs to know like in the case of smoking/no smoking rooms. I will not be back..
We have stayed at the BW Wittenberg every year at least once or twice since they opened, and through a couple name changes. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean, and breakfast is very nice. We will continue to visit every year as long as we go to Lambeau Field, just about 1 hour away. This is much more convenient and less expensive than the facilities in Green Bay.
Clean, great staff, great breakfast, well located. Will stay again! Wittenberg is a small town, and the Best Western Hotel was a surprise. Location is just off the main highway therefore easy to find. Was there in early fall with cool weather. Room heat was very easy to set!
Our room was clean and there were no foul odors in the air when we entered the room. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. The hot tub and pool were both in good working order and it was not busy at all. We were unable to stay for breakfast but it has been good in the past.
We have stayed here before and will be returning.... even if we need to go out of our way! The staff at the desk during our stay 10/12-10/13 could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished, and always clean. The casino packages are a great bargain if you enjoy gaming. Our only wish would be warmer pool water.
Great place to stay. The rooms are clean, continental breakfast is outstanding and all of the employees are super kind and helpful. The swimming area is great along with the area outside where you can walk and feel completely safe.
Our room had 2 comfortable, queen beds, with plenty of additional room. The wifi worked well, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, with some hot items, as well as make your own waffle, cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, muffins, toast, etc. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.
Excellent stay, great breakfast options. Not clearly visible or marked after you exit 29. If there were signs at the end of the exit ramp, or even where you turn onto the road with the hotel, it would be helpful. Visible from the road in the winter, but with leaves on the trees, someone who has never stayed there would not know where to turn. We have stayed here several times over the years and they are doing some updating in decorating and added things to the breakfast bar over the years.
Awesome hotel with friendly staff and great amenities! Very clean and comfortable beds along with a nice hot breakfast. Can't beat the price for everything you get. Pool and hot looked wonderful however we did not get to enjoy it due to time constraints :-(
This hotel is conveniently located. It is very clean; employees are friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, large and clean. The beds were okay but a little harder than we are used to sleeping on. The breakfast had a very selection each morning.
Home for a reunion. This hotel was more than we expected. Joanne at the front desk was wonderful. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the bacon. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Great beds also.
Nice room, slept well. Perfect location for me. Nice that it's in the country. Big rig parking next door. Breakfast was really, really poor. I looked it over and then went next door to eat. Service was great, I dealt with all professional employees.
Its bad enough Best Western does not have any signage to direct you to the property, it claims to be in Wittenberg but it really isn't. Smelly carpeting, lack of things to do or places to go. Destination location only not for a tourist. Friendly staff, nice b-fast. Old bedding, dated facility. Nice small gym, indoor pool.
Everything was really excellent except for the first night when there was really lots of noise from the floor above. We have requested top floor for future stays. We love the pool and used it several times during our two day stay. Plus we were give money to use at the casino.
Everything worked and was clean. Much better than the average hotel. It did not smell like a veg. curry was being cooked in the next room. I did not use the pool or any other amenities that were offered except for the breakfast which was better than what I would have made myself.
Very clean and friendly staff. Convenient location right off main highway with easy-on-easy-off excess. Free breakfast with fresh items and well presented and tables kept clean and in order. Check-in and check-out made a pleasant experience after driving hours. Pool and hot both a real plus for relaxing and both very clean. Quiet location and adequate parking. Would truly stay there again and recommend to friends.
This is a well maintained hotel at an excellent price. I've stayed at the location before. It's s very clean place and it has a friendly staff. I definitely would stay here again. Breakfast could be a little more, but for the price, well work it.
Perfect! Attractive building and farmland from a distance! My wife's Uncle, Howard Watkins, was huge user of Best Western for more than forty years! He traveled with his family in his huge Cadillac to Alaska, Canada, the USA, and Mexico.
Every step of the stay was great from making the reservation, the check in, our room was changed to a lower unit to meet our needs, the room was very clean, quiet night and perfect check-out. We will use this hotel again.
Beautiful property both inside and outside! Very clean! Decor is very pleasing, rooms are quiet and staff is very accommodating! Used the pool and hot tub which were relaxing! Internet speed was fast. Would definitely go back again not only for business stay but for personal stay with family.
My husband and I spent one night at the Best Western Hotel in Wittenberg Wisconsin The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was good but could of had a little more variety. However, the staff was very good about refilling food very quickly I would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel. The price was very reasonable.
Great place to stay clean and friendly staff. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was very good, area very clean good variety of food choices Overall a very good experience. Will stay here again if given the chance when in the area.
Very nice place to stay. Better than I thought for small town. It is kind of in the county. The pool and hot tub are very nice. The breakfast was like always, but good. The resturant next had good fish.
We (our family) were visiting relatives in Tigerton, WI for Fathers Day, Nice Hotel , Close for commuting Nice location , just off hwy 29 , resturant and gas station right next door, This is handy for us Have stayed here a few times already
Once a year we come to the Wittenberg area. We usually stay at a different chain of hotels but this year we decided to give the Best Western a try. We were so impressed with the hotel room that we booked it already for next year. The women at the front desk were very helpful. The breakfast was very good and kept well stocked. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to use the pool. We were also impressed that the refrigerator in our room was plugged in and running upon arrival. Also the air conditioner was running. This has not happened at a hotel we stayed at in a long time.We appreciated it!!
I have stayed at this hotel on two occasions while traveling for business. Each time was greeted immediately upon entering and check in was smooth. My most recent visit the air conditioner in my room was not working, I went to the desk and the moved me to another room with no hassle. There was also a billing issue where I was billed for an extra night for each of the two rooms reserved, however the staff was friendly and handled the refund in a timely manner. Very Clean well kept facility. Only thing keeping from a 5 star review is the internet connection is brutally slow and difficult to work from.
It is a great place to stay. It is clean, nice pool and whirlpool, quiet, delicious breakfast plus friendly and helpful staff. We have stayed here a few times and would again and each time it meets our expectations.
While traveling, if you are looking for an easy off the road and on again place to stop for a good and reasonable priced to stay the night, the Best Western in Wittenberg, WI is the place to go. We found it very clean and updated. All the staff we encountered were very friendly which showed they wanted your business. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable, which is important to us. The breakfast was satisfying which included the usual eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, etc. Overall we agreed this was one we would add to our list to stay when we come past here next trip.
First I do not small pillows it is not something I would have at home. Sec9nd, don't really get the call before you leave, expels check out. Having said that this is a really nice place too look at the stars. Gets very dark at night, the rooms were clean, staff friendly, internet worked well, breakfast was ok. Overall well worth the money. We will be going back in July for two nights.
Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Good breakfast. BUT best of all, I got to stay in the murder room. Every hotel has a murder room, a room where a guest was brutally slain. At the Best Western, Wittenberg, it is room 218. The blood stains are still on the carpet near the bed stand.
If you need a place to stay in north central Wisconsin, this is a great choice. Clean and comfortable with competent staff and a swimming pool, this hotel delivers. There is an excellent truck stop restaurant nearby as well.
Great value for the price. Comfortable beds. Big room. Not fancy but very nice. Would stay again if in the area. Good restaurant close by, The Garden. Wonderful raisin French toast and good soup/salad bar.
better than staying at the local casino the rate was no more adn it included free play at the same and all local casino so not limited in where to play. decent room, decent breakfast, frienly people and a good office chair in teh room
We stayed here one night, for a visit around the town of Wittenberg, to see Martin Luther related sites. This hotel sits at the east end of the main street. We used points. It is quiet, and includes breakfast. There is a charge for parking. As Diamond member, we were told we were upgraded to a nice balcony room. It was a nice large room, with balcony overlooking the parking lot. There is a computer with monitor and printer, right by the front desk. The breakfast was decent. They also have the option of you paying for a paperbag, to pack lunch. Forgot how much, but was a fair price. After we checked out and put luggage in our car, we toured the town. All the important sites are within walking distance. The hotel is on the east end of the main street. We walked to the west end, to the Castle Church, where Martin Luther nailed the 95 Thesis, and also the church where he was burried. There are other sites, good for a day visit.
Pros: good location right off Highway 29; clean, large rooms. Housekeeping does a good job. Cons: bed was rock-hard; the noise from adjoining rooms was loud and consistent late at night and early in the morning. The cons made us one-time guests.
Stayed here for a wedding and got a spacious King suite. Staff was pretty friendly, rooms were clean, and definitely had a blast at the wedding in their conference center. Highly recommend to anyone passing through.
Clean and efficient. This is not a fancy BW, but predictably good. Rooms are clean and maintained. Have stayed here before. Folks are friendly. Easy access and a fun local "tavern/road house" is just across the highway.
we had a very good time at the hotel.all staff was friendly and willing to help with any problem's.room was very nice, brealfast was the best part.egg's,sausage, ceral, plus lot's of other stuff.pool was very clean and the right temp.will be back next month to visit family, and hit the three casion's.
Comfortable beds. Pool and hot tub were nice. They let us stay in past closing time. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was good. The coffee was very good. There was plenty of available parking.
Everything was wonderful. We decided at the last minute to get away for our anniversary. We did not expect a jacuzzi bathtub in our room. It was a great surprise. The staff was great helping us with the waffle maker when the beeper went off.
Nice clean friendly hotel, we had a few minor issues when we first got there, but they were quick to fix them and very friendly about it. The rooms and bed were comfortable and clean. I would have given 5 stars, but house keeping was very loud in the morning, letting doors bang against the safety bar they used to hold the doors open and bumping their carts into things, some people like to sleep a little bit later on vacation.
Clean, comfortable rooms with reasonable prices. This hotel has easy access to the highway and very helpful staff. Breakfast area with ample options and comfortable sitting. Also with pool and picnic area. The WiFi is free and works well in all areas.
We stay here for a weekend every few months, always a great experience. This past weekend it was for two of my closest friends getting married- (finally!). After driving almost 300 miles to witness this event and arriving at almost one in the morning, the front desk staff were efficient, breakfast was warm and yummy, check-in and check-out were speedy, and everything was very clean. Staff is more than helpful. I'm very happy a Best Western like this exists in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin.
We were completely satisfied with this property during our stay. The staff and rooms were very impressive. This is an excellent Best Western. Also, there is a very good restaurant is right next to this motel
I can't say much about the hotel, I stayed for two days, but I didn't go to the front desk because my roommate had checked in hours before I arrived. I can say that the wifi password was not given to her at the front desk or nowhere to be in the room. My co-worker had to call down to get the info. The room itself was nice. we had a double queen room, well furnished. No mircowave though, I stayed at a Super 8 the following night and even they had a mircowave in the room, but never the less, it was a good stay, good price and I would recommend it.
I have to say that this was the best experience I have had in a hotel. There were no people pounding in the room above us and not too many loud people. I felt like I was at home. Check-in was fast and easy and very nice managers. Breakfast was great but make sure you are there early since lines start getting long towards 8AM on the weekend. Great stay and thanks for your great service since this has been the hotel we stay at once a year for the last 10 years.
Staff was very helpful when we had problems with our refrigerator and helping get a different one. Very professional and love the breakfast. Wish other motels would follow in your footsteps for continental breakfast
Very nice hotel. Easy access. Gas station nearby so very convenient for the traveler. Bed was very nice (k king), pillows not too hard! That is my usual issue when traveling, so the right pillows were a great bonus. sink had a crack in it but this wasn't a deal breaker. I liked having the sink outside of the bathroom. Blow dryers provided. did have nice exercise room and pool but we were too tired to use.Good breakfast and nice interaction with the staff. TV reception was grainy for some shows, but we didn't watch a lot of TV. this could be an issue for some.
We traveled to Wittenburg for a wrestling tournament. The room was spacious and was VERY clean. I was so impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Many kudos to the housekeeping team. I was not impressed at check-in. The woman was not friendly and made me feel like it was a bother to be checking in. She also did not pass on the note that our second room would be checked in after the tournament. Thankfully the night shift called and double checked but it could have been given away! Very stressful! I also think it was overpriced. We had a group discount due to the tournament and it was still expensive. I realize it is the only place in town but was still a little expensive for a mid-level property.
The staff is excellent, and hotel is in great condition. The pool and exercise room are clean. The banquet hall is nice. Parking is easy. Breakfast is good. There were two family reunions and softball teams for a tournament staying that weekend, and they managed to keep up a good quality of service. Location to Wittenberg is the best compared to the North Star Casino.
My family recently stayed for one night on a trip. The pool was great, staff was friendly and room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very responsive when an alarm in the hall was beeping faintly they promptly resolved the issue. Breakfast was good and overall was excellent experience for the value.
Super friendly people, very quiet and clean rooms. The staff was there to make your stay perfect. We wer offered tips on where to eat and things to do that worked out very well. Plan on making this stop an annual event due to our great experience. Thankyou for a great nights sleep.
This hotel was the center for our large (90+) family reunion. They did an excellent job. Service, Quality, Cleanliness, ability to get a good night's sleep, all excellent. I travel most of the time for work and often rate hotels. This one is a gem. It wasn't that it was the only hotel in town (it was), but that it was available for most of our group and accommodating to our needs.
The Best Western was a very clean hotel. Their breakfast had a nice selection. The coffee machine had problems though. The hot tub was great after a long walk at the Iola car show. Close to Nueskes and 2 casinos.
I recently stayed at Best Western in Wittenberg on a Wednesday night as my last night of vacation. I was on my way back from Door County, and I decided to head to Wittenberg for the casinos! I enjoy trying my luck at various casinos when I travel, and I had not yet hit any casinos on this trip, so I planned to stay in Wittenberg for my last night to visit Ho-Chunk in Wittenberg and North Star Casino near Bowler. I paid only $84 + tax for the 1-night weeknight stay as well, which was a great deal for summer travel season! I don't remember the last time I paid less than $100 on a hotel room after tax and everything! I had a very enjoyable stay, and everything was great on this visit. I arrived to check in right after 4:30 on Wednesday afternoon. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. It seemed like I was one of the only guests to have arrived that early in the afternoon since my car was one of the only ones in the parking lot, so it was very quiet. I had a standard room with king bed on the 2nd floor. The room was in very good condition, and it was cleaned very nicely. The bed and all furnishings were comfortable, and I found the bathroom to be very clean. Since it was a rather hot day, I decided to take a dip in the indoor pool shortly after I got all my luggage in, and the pool area was very nice, too. I got the area to myself which was nice! The pool was a refreshing temperature, and I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub some, too! There is not much in the area of this hotel in terms of places to eat, but the front desk clerk was helpful with a few suggestions. I ended up being gone at dinner and then the casinos for most of the evening and into the early morning. It is a quick less-than-10-minute drive to Ho-Chunk and about 20 minutes to North Star. I spent time at both casinos during the evening, and they are only about 20 minutes apart, too. There is plenty of lighting in the parking lot, so I felt safe upon arriving back close to 12:30 in the morning. I wish I had had better luck at the casinos, but that is not the hotel's fault! I did go to bed pretty much right when I returned, and I slept like a log here! I fell asleep nearly instantly, and I did not wake up until my alarm awoke me in the morning! I went down to breakfast at about 8:15 the following morning. There was plenty of seating in the breakfast area, and there were not many other guests down at the time. I had a great breakfast here, and they had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles, pastries, cereals, donuts, and much more. Many of the places I stayed at in Door County did NOT offer breakfast, so it was nice to have such a good one for free again! I did use the pool/whirlpool one more time in the morning before showering and checking out since I was heading home that day, and I again got it all to myself! I was kindly asked how everything was upon departure, and I said everything was great! There are not many choices for hotels near Wittenberg, but I would return here on future trips and recommend. I also have family that lives near Shawano, so I might start to stay here for that purpose since this Best Western was so nice with such great value! The staff was all extremely friendly as well! I would also recommend a stop at Nueske's when in the area for bacon, ham, sausage, cheese, and other specialty food items! I had a great stay, and this was a great way to end my vacation!
We stay here at least twice a year, going to Wausau,Nueskes, and Hochunk casino! They have a good breakfast, and the rooms are nice and quiet, especially if you ask for one on the third floor, away from kids and pool! We will continue to stay here on our journey!
If you need a place to stay in the Wittenberg area, this is your hotel (there aren't any other options nearby). The price is very affordable - good value. It's a nice, clean hotel and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and the pool area is nice for families. I don't know if all rooms have a refrigerator, but ours did and we just booked a standard room - nice extra.
Stayed while attending Iola old car show. All went well. Good breakfast included and a nice restaurant across the street near a BP station. I guess I have to say more to get to a 200 word minimum. Nice place, good parking, good location as long as it's near where you are going. Will try again on posting this.
The room was ok and seemed clean, and the lobby area was clean, but the pool, and especially the hot tub were dirty. The pool was dirty, but the hot tub was virtually disgusting! I don't think I have ever seen one so filthy, and if the concrete is just "stained", then it needs to be replaced. The breakfast was very good.
I always check a room BEFORE I officially check-in. I found the whole floor and neighbors noisy, desk clerk gave key to next floor up...key didn't work; nor did the next 3. When the desk clerk and I finally got a lock to work, the room was clean and neat! We were next to the ice machine on the 3rd floor, but, never heard it. The Ethernet cable in the business center was missing so couldn't use the internet. We had a 2-queen bed room which were very comfy! Breakfast fare included: fruit, 3 cereals, waffles, muffins, various jams, honey, maple syrup, bread for toasting, English muffins, bagels, cream cheese, scrambled eggs and sausage, coffee, 3 juices, 2 yogurts. Good! The breakfast area and bar were well maintained. The hostess was a sweetie. You will love your room and the staff. Be sure and not pass by this property!
chose this hotel for a relaxing mini getaway. Golf, casino, hot tub, etc. everything was good except hot tub/pool. it was shut down due to a gas leak and a concern for guest safety. totally understand that. just disappointed about not being able to use the hot tub.
Nice, clean reasonably priced hotel. Needed a place to stop after leaving late for a reunion. Nice stop. Basically, just needed a place to sleep and eat breakfast. The bed was comfortable, the wi-fi worked with no issues.
It was not very busy when we went. Very quiet. Rooms were clean, We had the special room rate offered in the Ho Chunk monthly mailer. Breakfast was free and there were enough choices. Hot items were waffles and biscuits and gravy.
We have stayed here many, many times and it is a nice clean hotel. The staff is friendly and the amenities are very adequate (we use the hot tub, pool, Wi-Fi and the continental breakfast). The location is perfect for the places we visit in the area. We will definitely stay here again.
Checked in early, very friendly. Indoor pool and whirlpool. Free breakfast offered with a nice variety of food options. Location is great, near Wausau and $10.00 vouches given to each adult for 3 casinos close in distance. Nearby towns offer interesting sights. Wittenberg displayed fabulous fireworks on the night of our stay. Overall, pleasant north woods atmosphere, clean and good value. Would definitely recommend!
The price seems rediculously high considering the area. But it is the only chain hotel close to where my family lives. By calling hotel direct my brother was able to get a reduced rate by mentioning we were there for my Father's funeral, but they cannot adjust a price that was reserved on line. The staff was friendly and the facility was clean and presentable. Our shower head was spraying water all over and needed a little tightening but my husband was able to do that. Otherwise the stay was comfortable.
Very nice facility for the whole family. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. A good selection for breakfast and everything was fresh. Looking forward to staying there again.
Everything from check in to breakfast the next morning was excellent. We had one of the most restful night sleep in a long time. Breakfast area was very clean and breakfast was always kept hot and full.
Good hotel, good accommodations, decent room, decent breakfast. Loved the room with the whirlpool Jacuzzi in the bedroom. And we loved the fact it was within walking distance of The Harvest restaurant which we ate at 3 times and it was delicious. The pool and hot tub set up downstairs was awesome. Didn't do much exploring of the hotel, we used the pool & hot tub, free WiFi, and took advantage of their breakfast. Came up to Wisconsin to visit some friends for Spring Break and it snowed! All in all it was a good stay. And we'll stay again when we're in the area in the future.
Very clean, helpful staff, quick check in and out. Too bad it's not closer to the casino. The drive with a little snow on the roads was all turns and curvy. Shuttle service to and from would be great. Or even paid taxi service.
I planned a trip to Wittenberg to go to Nueske's retail store. I decided to make it an overnight trip so I needed a place to stay. Using Google maps I found this BW. I read the Google review and also the tripadvisor reviews and thought I would give this place a try. When I travel I do not look for a five star place to flop my head for one night. As long as it is reasonably clean and the bed is comfortable I'm good to go. I can honestly say that this is one of the nicer places for the money that I have ever stayed at. We got a king bedroom. The room was very roomy, by that I mean I did not feel cramped. When entering the room there was no smell. Some places like use some kind of air freshener, not here. The floors were clean. The sink was clean. The bathroom was clean. The room had a small refrigerator, flat screen TV and free wifi. A nice table and chair in the corner for my laptop to sit on and a comfy chair in the other corner. The king bed was very comfortable, firm but not to firm. The only thing that was average at this place was the breakfast. I don't expect much from a motel. Waffles, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, danish, breads, fruit, milk, coffee, juice, etc. You get the picture. All okay, but nothing out of the ordinary. Would I stay again, You betcha!
We have stayed at the hotel in Wittenberg several times It is very clean & we love getting the free play coupons for the nearby casino. The location is great.....right off 29 and close to two casinos and also a gas station/mart that has everything from famous cheese and meats to alcohol and then some. Would highly recommend this for anybody visiting this area in Wisconsin.
Not completely happy with our stay. Room was clean but towels were very dingy in color. (like washed in rusty water) Lighting was dark. Had to unplug light in order to plug in refrigerator and computer.
Got a great rate Rate was listed on the flyer we received through Ho Chunk Casino. We usually stay at the Mohican North Star but decided to try this. Nice rooms, friendly people, great breakfast. Hotel is about 2 miles from Ho Chunk Casino.
I've stayed here before and always come back when I'm in the area. Front desk person was very nice and fireplace going was so inviting and cozy. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Plus you get vouchers for casinos! Also gas station and restaurant right there. Enjoyed the stay and I won!
We stayed for one night and found the staff very friendly and the room very spacious. Furnishings in the room were modern and comfortable. The continental breakfast had some protein items (eggs and sausage) along with the usual pastries and waffles. If you're going to area casinos, ask at the desk for $10 vouchers.
pool and hottub were very nice. Was not very busy so had the place to ourselves. Breakfast was wonderful and a close rest. near buy that had great food too. This was recommended by the hotel staff. Will definately stay here again.
Everytime we stay its a wonderful experience.People are so frienly and helpful.Rooms are always clean with beautiful decore. Beds are comfortable, with great pillows.Lots to choose from for breakfast.Everything that was suppose to be was hot.Everything that was suppose to be cold was cold.Four different juices to pick from.Coffee was great.
Great family gathering and centrally located for those who want to go to several different casinos in one weekend. Relax in the hot tub or get in the pool after a day of playing around and discuss wht you did for the day.
We have stayed at the Best Western Wittenberg at least once each fall for the past several years. The price is very reasonable and their breakfast is awesome. The staff is always very pleasant both when I call to reserve a room and when we are at the hotel. It is also very easy to locate from the highway.
We love staying at this hotel. It has very comfortable beds - and the shower heads are wonderful. The people who work there are always friendly and extremely helpful - and know the surrounding area. And the location is between Wausau and Green Bay which makes it the center of many things to do.
More hotels need to be aware of handicap situations and have better accommodations for handicap people! There NEEDS to be 2 beds in all accessible rooms, one for the care giver as well as the handicap person!
I've visited the hotel several times and it is great value for the money. Room are clean and staff is friendly. I usually visit in connection with trips to local casinos in Wittenberg and Bowler, Wisconsin.
Nice amenities. Pool and hottub were clean and the temperature was just right. Breakfast had some hot items as well as the usual and was pretty good. Rooms were very clean and everything was very well maintained.
