Je m’inscris Very clean, which is a top priority. Pet friendly, loved the floors were all tile. Great staff, very polite and personable. Will be booking this again on our trips north. Free breakfast is a bonus and the coffee was fresh….super important..😂
Best Western Wapakoneta Inn is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are spacious, except the bathroom, which was pretty small. The bed was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well kept. It appears the hotel was recently upgraded. It is very thoughtful that they provide two bottles of water in your room. That really came in handy.
Overall satisfied with the stay and quality of the stay was good. I would come back again definitely!
The Hotel was wonderful. We were so impressed with the check-in staff. The breakfast was very good and the beds are very comfortable. The room was very clean and nice.
I rarely award a 5-star rating to a chain hotel, saving that for some glitzy, over-the top, jaw-dropping hotel in glamorous destinations. But this place earned the rating for being outstanding in location, cleanliness and hospitality. This was just for one night because we wanted to stop to see the Armstrong Air and Space Museum. Usually Wapakoneta is too close to home (4 hours), and too far away from our destination, so it doesn't warrant an overnight stay. The convenience of location this time couldn't have been easier - right on the same Lunar Drive as the Museum, just off I-75. You could see the exit from our window, though there was no highway noise. Based on our loyalty to Best Western, we were given an upgrade from a King to an Executive King room. It was a lovely change, even though we sure didn't need that much room for the two of us, with a planned early start the next day. Both check-in and check-out were polite and efficient. Parking was easy. We had the included breakfast - similar to the usual hotel standard breakfasts, but we enjoyed both the food items and the comfortable dining area provided. The Wi-Fi was fast and dependable. Our room had excellent bedding and linens, with extras in the closet. Of course, there was the usual fridge and microwave, desk, a good-size TV and an iron/board. We most appreciated the sofa and chair with coffee table so that we could eat our take-out meal in comfort. There was adequate lighting in the room and a good number of plugs. The ice machine was handy. Having the complimentary local newspaper was a very nice touch. Great stay, highly recommended. It wouldn't happen without motivated managers and personnel. If we stay again, we will be sure to try a few of the other features provided at this location.
We always stop here on our annual trip to Michigan from South Carolina. This is very well maintained property with comfy rooms, pet friendly and a great deal for the price. Free water in the fridge, coffee available, print newspaper available, and easy checkin and checkout. The rooms have a microwave, coffeemaker, fridge and good air conditioning. All of the staff are very friendly. This place has never disappointed.
The hotel was perfect, it was clean, friendly staff, quiet, everything you need is in your room, coffee was always fresh. The continental breakfast has choices for everyone, the food was good. Hot and fresh
This Best Western exceeded the quality of all the other Best Westerns I've stayed at over the past years while traveling for business. Everything was extremely clean and the breakfast was outstanding. I will stay here again every time I'm in the area for business.
The room was clean and in working order. Breakfast was very good for a hotel Breakfast. Lots of options! The bed was a bit hard but the pillows were nice.
I have stated there several times and had pretty good experience with my stays. I like right off the freeway and easy to get to. There are several places to eat close and shopping. I liked the breakfast choices. I will stay again.
Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. Reviews said they heard highway noise but we did not. We stayed in a whirlpool suite on the first floor and it was quiet. Not a ton of restaurants in the area but enough to choose from. Go to the Armstrong Space Museum. It's worth it!
This is my go-to reservation when going to this area… I stay in this hotel, at least 20 to 22 nights per year… I always feel like I am coming to stay with friends… The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the staff is very accommodating for any needs that you may have… I highly recommend this hotel!!! you will not be disappointed!!!
We stopped here on the drive back from Florida. Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff friendly and bed comfortable.Hotel is just off the interstate but yet not noisy. There is a Dunkin very close for coffee in the morning to hit the road
I was greeted at the front desk as being selected guest of the day. I was given a bottled water, a bag of munchies and some M&M's. Thank you for the sweet and welcoming gesture! King mattress in room 207 was perfect. There is road noise due to the close location of 75, but the constant fan option helped drown out the traffic noise. Be prepared to hear doors slam hard. Towels are thin and not plush. Our room was very clean and I'm pretty particular. 5:30am breakfast option is nice for those needing an early start. Walmart and several fast food options are close by.
This hotel may not be newly renovated, but who cares about that when the service is 5 star! All spaces within the hotel were clean and fresh, had everything that we needed for our long weekend away from home. Staff were super friendly and accommodating - even when we didn't bring a ton of activities to do in our room, front desk offered Candyland, Uno and coloring books to help pass the time. I even loved the sign on the door in the dinning room that stated "That's not my job" should not be in your vocabulary while working here. Any of the staff are there to help with whatever is needed. Wish more hotels took on this approach to service above all else!
The last leg of a business trip brought my husband and me to this Best Western. In all my years of travels, I've rarely found a property so clean and maintained. We used the pool, too, and it was maintained beautifully. Solid Wi-Fi, good TV stations, and close to many restaurants. We ordered a pizza from CJs. $20 for a 4-topping, 18" pie. Relaxed in our room with pizza, beer, great movies, followed by a swim. We really found this hotel welcoming and relaxing!
This is the second time we have stayed here on our way to and from Florida (from The Blue Mountains, Ontario. Friendly staff that provide you with a comfortable room. Good value for the money spent given we need to convert $CDN to $US for value rating.
First room they put us in smelled overwhelmingly of poop. On top of that, the room was heated to 75-80 degrees, thus enhancing the pungentness of the stench. Trekked back to the front desk at 2:30am to get a different room, front desk guy apologized and moved us two rooms down. Room was still 75-80 degrees, but didn't stink nearly as much. During our 6 hour stay, we never were able to get the ancient AC to cool the room to a reasonable temperature.
I stayed there last time in town it is right off the freeway and easy to get to. Alot of places to park. Quite a few places to eat around there and places to see. I liked the breakfast a lot of choices everyday.
I barely knew I was there. The place was very clean and well kept far enough from the highway no rumble a decent view of rural back country with food and gas right next door and nearby. This room had the K-cup coffee as well not the nasty teabag coffee you usually get
Decent hotel for several things that I observed — really accommodating staff, nice rooms for this type hotel, easy to get to, serves no added cost breakfast , lots of parking. Our room had a whirlpool which was a total waste of space that could have been used to turn a decent room into a great room and as usual for mid range hotels had a lousy climate control system.
Best Western continues to provide clean and comfortable accommodations for the vacation traveler. Everything about this hotel was 5 star, with a very nice, clean room, hot breakfast, good internet signal, and very friendly staff. We would stay here again.
I had a good stay at the hotel. It was nice really close to the freeway. Seemed like a lot of places close to eat. Had a good breakfast lots of choices. I liked the room a little small but was nice to stay in. I am planning on staying there next time in town.
This is our second time staying at this location and while pricier than other Best Western Hotels it was completely satisfactory. From our check-in and throughout our stay the staff was friendly and helpful. We appreciate their promptness and care.
This property is right off of the interstate. It is well maintained both inside and out. The staff are always so friendly and greet you when they see you. The breakfast is hot and good. The internet works well. The pet friendly part is a plus. They even provide bags so you can clean up after your pet. Everything in the room works and it is very clean. There are several fast food options nearby for eating. I highly recommend this place as a great stop over.
Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, helped us to decided to choose Best Western hotels for the rest of our vacation. Great spread and well stocked breakfast bar. Clean rooms and great location (not far from the museum).
We took a trip to Memphis Nashville and Smokey mountains. We stayed in very poor hotels in Memphis and Nashville. On bc our way home we stayed at this hotel best western in Wapakoneca . This hotel renewed our faith in best western. All the rest were pluses. The hotel is clean and tidy. Breakfast was fantastic and the people were great. Keep doing what you're doing. Thank you. If you're travelling and need a place to stay. This is the place for you.
You basically have 3 choices when staying in Wapakoneta and the Best Western fit the bill when it came to traveling with our new family member Teddy a 3.5 month old standard poodle. We attempted to stay at the Hilton but they only allow service dogs. What a surprise and treat to find the BW and the service room and free breakfast were exactly what we needed at a fair and great valued price! Gratvexierirnce abd the room and bed were great!
We have been traveling all week thru Ohio, the Best Western at Wapakoneta OH was by far the best in cleanliness, nice breakfast and wonderful staff! It was comparablely priced with other hotels we stayed in this week and by far the best!! Thank you!
Good Hotel - everything worked as expected - was worried about Highway noise - nothing to noticed. Excellent recommendations for a Dinner Restaurant!! The town seemed bright and lively when we went out for Dinner
We stay here in Wapakoneta every year when we visit family in Lima, Findlay, and other small cities nearby. We like the quiet location; however, the most important quality for me is cleanliness and comfort of our room, as well as friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. We have been staying here for years because the hotel staff are friendly and professional; the rooms are always clean to my standards, and I feel that we receive good value for the money.
We've traveled quite a bit this year and generally choose highly rated lodging. The Wapakoneta Best Western is the nicest we've visited, and we have stayed there both in November of 2021 and October of 2022. The best breakfast we've had coming out of COVID. Everything, clean. In the morning, I see the cleaning crew. They, the breakfast attendant, and the clerks at the front desk make this place special.
Was a great value for the quality of the room and breakfast. Only complaint was some dangerous broken floor tiles in the bathroom. When shared with the front desk clerk she promptly placed a work order for matnance
The hotel staff are always friendly and helpful when I am here. I go a lot for work and they always accommodate my needs and are very helpful. Breakfast is great with many different options to choose from.
Terrible experience, hotel was dirty and musty smelling. Lots of shady characters on site, was NOT family friendly. Pool was freezing cold. Most rooms were filled with pets. It rained while we stayed and the window leaked so much it soaked the floor. Will never return to METH western again!!!!!
Staff is real friendly and they make sure they go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. The hotel had very nice and clean room, quiet and enjoyable. The location was great and everything was close by that we needed.
Wapakoneta Best Western offers clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. Despite other options of hotels in the area, this has been my go-to for 20 years because of the cleanliness, service and overall amenities.
The front desk staff was very friendly. Our pet-friendly room was very clean with no bad odors or evidence of previous pets. Breakfast had good options and tasted great! Everything in the room was in good working order.
Was told I had to make a $250 down deposit because we lived within an hour of the hotel. They told me I would get it back in 3-4 days. Well it's been 4 days and I still didn't get it. I called and now they're saying it's going to be 7-10 days. Stay anywhere else.
This hotel was such a great stay. The beds could be more comfortable but overall such an enjoyable experience. Very clean hotel with the best breakfast I have had at Best Western hotels. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage links, yogurt, great coffee, different juices and so many other options.
This was my third stay here and I got the same great experience that I'm used to. This is one of the quietest hotels I've stayed at in a while. Tina is always super nice and helpful. I've always been well taken care of here. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that there aren't a ton of food options nearby. There are way more choices if you drive 15 minutes north to Lima or 25 minutes south to Sidney. The hotel is easily accessible from I-75 at Exit 111. I will definitely keep coming back
We stayed the night to attend the Bluegrass Winter Weekend. Check in was a breeze with the friendly staff. Our room was clean and updated and the bed was comfortable. After a good nights sleep we found the breakfast choices to be very good. We definitely will stay here again.
We came in late and greeted very warmly. The room was large and very comfortable. All of the staff were very courtious and friendly. The hot breakfest was good, lots of variety. The hotel was clean and updated. The pool was closed due to Covid.
We were in town for a wedding and The Best Western Wapakoneta Inn was very accessible to the interstate without having all the traffic noise. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The king size bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was fresh and had several options. Did not have a chance to use the fitness center but it was well equipped.
I decided to stay here on my way home from a solo trip. First of all, I would like to thank Tina. She was so sweet. She gave me a great rate and an upgrade because of my loyalty. She also has a great attitude and you can tell that she cares about her job. The room itself was clean and comfortable. This is the perfect hotel for peace and quiet and for affordability. I will definitely be back
I was traveling through Ohio and stopped at this location for the night. It is right off the highway but was quiet and a pleasant location and view. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of services nearby for fueling and eating.
Upon check-in, we checked the beds and found a large disgusting smear on one of the bed covers. We requested both beds be changed with clean bedding. The room had a foul odor, it smelled moldy. Overall, the room was not clean and was definitely not worth the rate. I do not recommend at all.
This is a nice hotel that has been recently updated. I miss carpeting in the rooms but understand that this is the trend. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast very good. Convenient to I-75, the Armstrong Museum and other local attractions. Reasonably priced.
The lady working front desk when I checked in was amazing! Very nice and easy to talk to, and was helpful when I had questions, bought from snacks etc. The bed could've been a little bit better but wasn't bad at all. I stayed in Jacuzzi tub suite and it was very comfy and tub was great! Will definitely come stay again when needed
We stayed in Wapakoneta but joined friends in Ft Loramie. The internet connection was horrible, 1-2 signal bars the entire time and would continue to drop completely. At times, while still inside our room, it would have us enter password and reconnect all over again.
I had reserved a room through a website with an emphasis on pet friendly. When I arrived I found that I had not been given a pet friendly room. The staff quickly found me another room which was pet friendly. The room was comfortable, and the A/C was on upon arrival which was nice. The bed was comfortable, the appliances all worked and it was very clean. There were plenty of outlets to plug in devices. The breakfast was standard and good and the service at breakfast was great. There were a variety of places to eat nearby. We felt safe there and enjoyed our stay. We will be back.
We stayed here in order to look at a house for sale. We drove 10 hours to get here. The entrance at the back of the property near our room, would not open. This was an issue since I had a broken foot and now needed to walk really far to get in. The owner did not respond when I told him about the issue. Overall, the quality has really gone downhill for a Best Western property.
Once you get past the truly off putting color/pattern of the hallway carpeting which make makes you think it's dirty and worn( which it isn't) this is a nice place to stay. Very clean, friendly staff, nice grounds, safe location. Breakfast is what you'd expect, but we'll stocked and managed by a very nice lady. Recommend taking a room on back side away from highway. We did not use the pool.
The two weeks there were enjoyable and the perfect location for us. The room was awesome and everyone was so friendly. There was so much around us, such as Wal-Mart, several places to eat, and a car wash. My favorite was the Wendy's in walking distance to our Hotel.
I experienced a very professional and friendly staff. When I called to make my reservations they were very friendly and the process was seamless. Rooms were clean and I had no issues during my stay. I stayed here for 2 weeks for a conference / class and I would stay here again.
This hotel is dated. It needs some refurbishing. That being said, it is fairly priced. Located just off the highway and across the street from the Neil Armstrong Museum, the hotel provides easy access ONCE you navigate the first stop light which is near a fast food drive and, in my opinion, a dangerous intersection for newcomers. The front desk was staffed by a really hard working lady who was going the extra mile working two 40 hour jobs. Yet, she new her sutff. She was quick, sharp and answered every question with the authority of one who knew her business. The rooms were clean as was the bath—but DATED. The area surrounding Wapaconeta, Ohio, is interesting especially St. Mary's Lake.
I called when I left my meeting, drove several miles down the road, and was so pleased with the hotel. I felt safe as a single, female traveler. Check-in was pleasant, room was pleasant and peaceful and mostly comfortable. The bed was a little hard, but I slept well. I really liked the pillows.
This was the only hotel I've stayed in all year that has not given me my moneys worth. Staff was great the room was great and clean. My issue is being charged full price and getting a snack pack for a 5 year old for breakfast. Some hotels are giving you hot breakfast and allowing you to take it back to your room. Best Western? Here's a paper bag with 2 dollars worth of kids snacks.
All in all great service as usual from Best Western chain of hotels. Room spacious and standard 2 double beds spacious and comfortable bathroom standard size for the hotel. They are leaving a seal on the room door advising that the room has been cleaned and disinfected due to the current situation. Pool and gym is also unfortunately also closed will be nice to go and use all the facilities again and also enjoy a real breakfast. Check in & out seamless
We were impressed by the quality of service overall. Nice staff. Clean comfortable room. Only drawback was construction in the halls for renovations. Hopefully they will be completed soon. Would go back anytime.
The Best Western Website states " Discover this newly renovated hotel in Wapakoneta " also enjoy a free hot breakfast. On my recent visit there with my wife I discovered neither. My wife and I traveled 2 1/2 hrs. to Wapakoneta to see our granddaughter compete at the High School, and since it was going to end late decided to make reservations to spend the night and travel home the next morning. Our choices were the Best Western or the Holiday Inn Express. The Best Western was rated higher and newly renovated according to their own website. Upon entering you could see a sign blocking the stairs with types of carpet being used, caution tape straight ahead where the breakfast area was. The young lady behind the desk was extremely friendly and explained the renovations going on. She also told us that due to, the renovations there was no hot breakfast in the morning. in its place, in the fitness room, there would be coffee , toast , bagels and frozen sandwiches which we could take back to our room and heat in our microwave. The next morning they were out of frozen sandwiches. We booked the King room with the jacuzzi. Going down the hall to our room we had to walk around doors off hinges and tiles stacked on the floor. Our room was very clean, but did need updated. There were no USB ports in the room. The exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a 747 taking off, and it didn't have a switch of its own it worked off the light switch. Other than that we we happy with our room.
Spent two nights as part of a family trip and visit in the Wapakoneta area. Room and hotel had all the essentials: clean and comfortable, good WiFi, decent cold breakfast with a few hot items. Choice of fast food in the immediate area. Easy to get to from I-75 and US-33 -- close enough that there was some road noise in our room on the front. Especially pet friendly, with areas to walk the dog. Rooms in the process of renovation. Would stay there again.
I stayed here as a result of some weather that slowed done my journey home. I felt welcomed to the hotel upon walking through the door. The oddest highlight to the stay though was the water. I stay at a lot of hotels through the year and most of the water seems to leave me thirstier than when I started. The water here tasted less treated and more fresh like I would get out of a well back home. It sounds strange, but it made the unexpected stay and a bit more pleasant. The beds and breakfast were what I have come to expect from Best Western and I stay at them frequently, so that must be a good thing.
We (group of four) attended Rock the Lake in early August. We spent time in the lovely town of Wapakoneta and went to the CCM music festival. As we one turned down the sheets, one of our friends noticed a prominent yellow stain on the bedding and then another brown stain on the fitted sheet. The other bed had stains on the linens and a long, dark hair on the fitted sheet. The night stand had a bent paper clip by the phone. When I went to call the front desk, I looked at the phone and it appeared that it had not been cleaned in quite some time. We had no answer from the front desk so we went down to report the issues with the room. The front desk clerk was very apologetic for the photos that my friend and I showed her of the stains and the phone. The clerk stated that she would move us to another room but they had none available and since it was 1AM, all the hotels in the area were probably filled. The clerk also asked for the photos so that she could send to her GM and that the GM would contact me as the clerk felt that was totally unacceptable that the room and bedding was totally unacceptable in the condition it was received. The clerk said that she would get new linens for the beds and wipes for the phone. En route to the room, she also mentioned that they were hiring housekeepers! When we arrived at the room, we showed the clerk the items that were stained and dirty. She stated that one of their housekeepers had long dark hair and that could be her hair on the fitted sheet! The clerk also stated that she had never changed a bed (we would like to think she meant in a hotel) so I helped her change the linens on both beds. She left behind the wipes so I ended up cleaning the phone and the night stand as well! These issues hopefully were brought to the attention of the housekeeping staff. None of us slept well after that and I will never stay in this hotel again. The halls smell musty and could use freshening up (or the carpeting replaced). The linen stains could easily be laundered with bleach. The clerk mentioned pets stay at the hotel so we wondered if the stains were human or pet. The front desk staff was effective (although I should not have been doing housekeeping's job nor should have the front desk clerk). The breakfast was okay and the parking and location were good. The housekeeping department, no accolades deserved. I have waited a month for a reply from the GM and I am still waiting. Do yourself a favor and stay at the much cleaner Holiday Inn Express or at a hotel in Lima. Perhaps it was an isolated incident but we stayed at HI Express across the street last year with no problems. We decided to try this hotel as it had better ratings but really don't see how that is possible!
Great place to stay and the price was very competitive, Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. I did not try the breakfast but it looked any typical morning breakfast. The parking was large and easy access to the highway. Made online reservations and the hotel had exactly what I ordered. Plenty of buggies for luggage and they have elevators as well. Can't speak about tv channels because we didn't watch it.
The room was clean and nicely furnished. The mattress was superb as were the linens/blankets/etc. Breakfast was hot and included all options. The only negative was the condition of the entrance and hallway carpet. We were told it is scheduled to be replaced. This Bewt Westers would rate 3+ if the carpet had been replacxed.
We have stayed here for 6 years now and have never been disappointed. All of the staff are friendly and courteous providing a welcoming atmosphere. If you are looking for a comfortable night's sleep with a decent hot breakfast this is the place to stay. We look forward to returning next year for our trip to Eldora Speedway and will be booking early to ensure we have our rooms. I highly recommend this facility for value and quality of service..
Was a very nice hotel. Friendly staff and comfy beds. Just needs new carpets. Was right next to The Armstrong Air and Space Museum and added it to our trip. Great indoor pool but no hotel tub. Right off the highway.
Hotel parking was clean and felt safe. Breakfast area was small but well maintained. Rooms were nice. Bed was quite comfortable and quite. Hotel had lots of things close, including space museum. Carpet going up stairs in lobby could use being replaced.
The night clerk was rude, sarcastic and instead of giving us the advertised price she told me to login and make reservations and pay that way while she stood there staring at me while I did this. I told her that we needed two beds and she gave us a king only on a non refundable purchase that she insisted that I do online. So my husband had to sleep in a chair all night long instead of having a bed. For $140.00 that was awful treatment. The employees during the day were great though.
The room was fine, all the staff was great, I had no issues, except a faulty sink drain that did not interfere with me and I would assume they fixed after I checked out. I really don't like to be required to type a 200 letter opinion. I gave my opinion of the staff and facility, they were great. Help by not requiring this to be so long. Its a waste of my time to write this much
The front desk service was great. It was a rainy night, we needed a hotel room and Best Western Wapakoneta Inn went above and beyond with pricing and service. When traveling through again we will be back! Thanks again.
Out of all the hotels I've been too and stayed at this was by far one of the best ones. It was clean, staff was nice and friendly, checking was fast, the staff made you feel welcomed there and if you need anything or couldn't find it they were right there to help. I would stay at a best western again and I would recommend them to all my friends and family.
Landscaping is always welcoming and beautiful. Building is in excellent repair. Staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. Room is always clean and comfortable. Internet is consistently reliable. This location honors a military discount. We return here every year.
I had a very good stay at your Motel. I just want to thank you for allowing dogs to stay at your Motel. Being a dog lover, that means the world to me. Thanks. So nice that you have such a nice breakfast for free also. Thank you for a great stay, will be needing to come up at least one more time, and will definitely stay with you again. Thanks. Keep up the great work!
The entire setting is clean and organized. Rooms are adequate size. The staff are all friendly and helpful working with a smile on their face. Everything is close by, but you're back out of the way of busy traffic. This trip was for my husband to go to the Neil Armstrong Space Museum for his birthday.
The hotel is located right off the freeway and within walking distance to the Armstrong Museum. The breakfast is pretty standard, but I appreciated that the fresh fruit was actually fresh. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Closet is a bit small.
This is a quiet friendly hotel which is being renovated. The carpets need it. My room smelt of cigarette smoke and I am allergic to cigarette smoke. They sprayed it but it did nothing. The smoke is in the ventilation system. I will not come back because I sure did not get a good nights sleep because of the smoke.Hope the renovation will help with the smoke problem but I will not risk another night because of the smoke.
Family split up between here and Red Roof, and we def got the better deal at BW. Full Breakfast, softest pillows, cookies, reward points, an elevator, clean room, a pool, great staff, and easy access to area sites, food, and Interstate Highway. A short walk to Neil Armstrong museum, Moon City Music Center, and Bowling Alley..just minutes drive from Historic downtown, Temple of Tolerance, Auglaize Fairground, River, High School, and more! Love Happy Daz, LaGrandes, California Burrito, and local sport events!
Very nice older hotel with everything we wanted! Best Western never disappoints! My only negative is we were with our 2 boys and the room that would fit the 4 of us was on the high end of BW's prices. Only a pull out couch for them but you had them at pool so no complaints from them :)
After reviewing comments we decided to try this hotel. The room was spotless. I can't remember a room in any hotel that was this clean. The beds were comfortable with more than enough fluffy pillows to relax anyone. We were able to have our dog and the hotel grounds provided ample room for dog walks. We are in town with our Airstream getting it serviced and this hotel made this experience much more pleasurable. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again.
My wife and I have been traveling through the US since 1982 and have rarely experienced the type of service offered by this hotel. Tina and Kay exemplifies how employees should treat their guests. We would certainly refer this hotel to others and would definitely consider staying here again.
Was traveling through the area and was looking for a pet friendly hotel. As I was driving I called the hotel to inquire if it was pet friendly and as to availability. The front desk clerk was super, and very accomodating. So I booked a room there and arrived a couple of hours later. Check in was easy, room was clean. Got a good night sleep and headed out the next morning. Staff was courteous and helpful. Very much a pleasant stay and would stay here again.
The hallway was dirty. Same same all 3 days I was there. Made me realize that the rooms were never vacuumed! No extra toilet paper in the room.Too much noise early in the morning. Would not stay there again.
Very convenient to Neil Armstrong museum which we were in town to visit. Stood for three minutes to check-in while Megan was finishing a personal call. (Indicated by her conversation & ending with "Love you, too." ) Asked about the pool hours -- it is closed "until we get it fixed". Told her it would have been nice to know this.. "Well, we posted it on our web site a couple of days ago. If it was important you should have checked the web site again before arriving." Who "checks the web site again" after you make your booking to see if amenities have changed??? Also had a problem when booking over the phone. The web site was showing one rate but wouldn't let booking go through. I called the 800 number and they couldn't get it to work either. Suggested I call directly -- which I did. They would not honor the rate even though I told them of the difficulties. Was told, "We set our own rates."--by Megan. Should have known I would encounter her again when checking in. ...... Only reasons we stayed here was due to BW fall promotion on points & location. Property itself was just ok... A bit dirty & worn... Plugs in rooms in difficult places to charge devices. I won't be back--promotion or no --- rudeness just too much to handle! Stay in Lima.. It's not that far away.
The issues I experienced are as follows: 1. The electronic card reader died and locked me out of my room. I do not consider this a problem unless there is a way to detect a failing battery. Anyway, the front desk staff member used a master key to access my room. Shortly thereafter a Manager arrived to assess the situation. He determined the batteries died, and he said he will return in a few minutes to fix it. About an hour later he returned and fixed the door. This was at 8:20 p.m. I do not know the Manager's normal work hours, but if he stayed late to fix the door, I appreciate it. 2. The microwave did not work properly. 3. The shower was not clean. Hairs at the bottom and on the walls of the tub. 4. The shower has a shower wand. The wand kept sliding down the support pole resulting in the shower head continuously resting at midsection level. Washing my upper body required sliding the pole up then hurriedly washing as needed. 5. Blades of grass should not be between the supposedly freshly made bed sheets. 6. The bed squeaked like a rusty rail car. The slightest movement caused the bed to loudly squeak.
Stayed here after nothing else was available in the area. Since they were also at or near capacity, all that was available was one room for the handicapped or handicapable if you will. The room was spacious but it smelled like urine and cigarettes mixed together....nauseating to say the least. I brought this to the attention of the front desk but due to lack of available rooms they could do nothing except give me some Lysol to spray in the room. It didn't help. It was late at night so we had no other options and stayed. Bedding was damp too. Carpets were originally red but are now brownish, elsewhwere in the hotel as well. Breakfast was good though...can't complain about that. This has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Will not be back.
What a enjoyable moments, I, and my family had in The Best Western Hotels .We have been staying at different cities of America, where we received the best services in all respects from Best Western Hotel. Specifically our kids enjoyed a lots there.
We were in town for a family wedding and reserved 3 rooms. We asked for an early check-in so we didn't have to wear our dress clothes for the wedding on the 4 hour drive. The hotel had our rooms ready early. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
the internet was slow, the hot tub was roped off and not usable. the breakfast sausage was rubbery. eggs were good on the days they were real. fruit and pastry assortment.. staff great . room clean. loveseat and chair in room made it easy for family and friends to come visit.
Stayed one night while in town for a concert in Botkins. The best part about this hotel was the ladies at the front desk. They were all super nice and so friendly. The hotel itself was clean, though I do recommend throwing away any blankets with stains on them. (Even though clean, that kind of grossed me out.) The room was a decent size and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. I'd stay here again over any of the surrounding hotels. Right next to I-75 but didn't hear any noise.
Stayed one night and enjoyed the fresh clean room and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again when in the area. We got in very late and this review makes you use 200 words, which in most cases I do.
Very clean, very nice hotel and the staff was very friendly! They went out of their way to be helpful with directions and such....it's not a new hotel but you would never know it! It is close to everything.
Highly recommend this place. Cannot find fault, we had a great stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast. We didn't have a chance to look around town as we were traveling.A great space museum nearby in only time permitted.
Stayed 1 night while traveling for work. Check in was fast and friendly. Room was clean and the bed was soft. Overall a good place to stay I would stay here again if I was in the area. Great service for the price.
Found this hotel to be excellent in every way. Clean room and nice entrance and breakfast are. We had a great breakfast.. Staff were very pleasant at checkin and at breakfast. Close to highway for travellers.
We were very warmly welcomed as the guest of the day here. We got a gift bag with bottled water and snacks because of it. Room was very comfortable, and the location is conveniently located right off the interstate.
Nice quite clean place. Bed was very comfortable. Very friendly staff. We were given options on the area restaurants with clear directions how to get to them. Breakfast was hot and very good in the morning before our departure.
Everything about the hotel was great. The rooms were priced fairly and they were willing to discount as much as possible. Clean and spacious. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We were friends from the start to the end of our visit.
We were greeted by Marlene at checkin and after travelling for 11 hours it was great to hear a welcome. Marlene goes above and beyond on all counts of customer service-We always stay at this hotel on our travels back home to Canada and look forward to the comfortable guestroom and friendly staff
Very helpful and courteous staff. We knew we were going to be a late check in so we called ahead to advise and they had everything waiting for us with no problems when we arrived. Staff was very pleasant and friendly!
Housekeeping stole from us during our stay here. I reported our issue to management and to BW Corporate office. Unfortunately, the house keeper got away with at least $120.00 cash. We will never stay here again.
We spent 1 night here on our trip home. Staff were friendly. Room was a good size but the bed was low and a bit uncomfortable. The fridge was too cold and some fruit and hardboiled eggs we put in it got frozen. The hall carpet is showing its age. The breakfast was good. If you stay here be sure to make a short trip into the downtown and surrounding area. There are some really neat old buildings
This is a nice and very clean hotel, a good value and close to the freeway (but not too noisy). Check-in was fast and easy. Breakfast comes with the room and offers several options. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Very clean throughout! Rooms comfy with fridge and microwave. Beds were a little too soft, but ok. Pool area exceptionally clean and peaceful however the spa I had looked forward to for weeks was being renovated so I was bummed but it will be sparkling going forward I am sure. Breakfast was very good nice selection with friendly staff. Front desk staff were ok but need to be a little more caring never asked how our stay was when we checked out and they were rarely at desk. Right off I 75 bear Space Museum
friendly staff, clean room, free breakfast, free fast internet and lots of free parking. What can I say my room was ready when I arrived. Friendly lady at front desk. I dropped my phone charging cord and it was returned to me. The room was quiet. Perfect for a business trip or to visit the Armstrong museum.
when ever I go to Wapakoneta this is where I want to stay! the services are fantastic and rooms are very clean!! the lady at the counter was more than helpful and kind.Love that theres water in the room as well
Loved the amenities at this hotel. Will stay again if a trip takes me in this direction again. Great friendly reception on arrival, hot tub was a blessing, hot breakfast in the morning was enjoyed immensely, room and fixtures were comfortable and sleep was great.
Normally this is where we stay when we visit family for Christmas. This was our first time not enjoying our stay. Room too hot, heater not working right. Squeaky bed kept waking up entire family, son ended up sleeping on floor. If hadn't been after midnight I would've requested new room.
Marlene was awesome getting us checked in and recommending a restaurant for dinner. Room was clean bed very comfy. Breakfast was good and filling. Staff very friendly. Property very clean. Handy on off to I75.
I stayed here 2 nights. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. Competent & professional front desk staff made check in & out a breeze. I asked the lady making up the rooms to skip my room & she followed my wishes. I never turned on the large TV, nor unwrapped the 'sanitized' remote control. Breakfast was far more than expected. The offerings included scrambled eggs with sausage one day & bacon the next. There was cereal, juice, coffee, yogurt, toast, waffles, butter, jam & syrup. there was fresh fruit. A Keurig coffee maker was in the room as well as a blow dryer, refrigerator, iron, ironing board, & a safe. The hotel also has a small workout room.
This hotel is the best. So clean it shines very quite and well appointed. The breakfast is the best yet. Staff great also restaurant near by you will not be disappointed Internet is safe and very fast easy on and off the interstate
very nice hotel, staff courteous, friendly very helpful, will stop at that location and recommend it to other people that drive this way. very clean bed comfortable, right off the hyway close to restaurants
Hotel is clean and appears to be in a safe location. A good value considering the limited options in a small town. The other option was a renovated hotel that had been vacant for many years. That hotel was okay, lots of kids in the pool this pool was not so busy, which was good for us. Things were quiet and we enjoyed our stay. Will stay there in the future. They also take pets which is good for us as well.
Great hotel for our trip to Ohio. Simple, not super expensive and included a pool and a hot breakfast. The staff were great and quick - so it made for a pleasant stay. The elevator is a bit sketchy, but that's all I could think of. Everything else (pool, fitness room, room cleanliness, bathroom, etc) was what I expected in a $100 hotel room. Will look to stay here again next time. Beats sleeping on the floor of the grandparent's house.
So so of an experience. Upon check in, cookies were a very nice touch. We asked to change rooms since we had a new puppy and wanted 1st floor. Very weird that King beds were only on top floor. Check in person was very nice. Room was okay. Mostly clean, cobwebs on ceiling, carpet ends not vaccummed and really bad amount of dust on AC unit. Loud hotel, other loud guests and construction workers. Granted, we had a new puppy, but she barked one single time maybe five times. Breakfast took a long time, didn't have all hot items like biscuits and had to throw away English muffin couldn't even cut so dry and old. If it doesn't work to have more items for breakfast then just keep it more simple.
We enjoyed our stay at this facility. The hotel was clean and the decorations were pleasing to the eye. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. It was conveniently located to grab a quick bite later in the evening.
Passing through the area and stay here when I travel in that direction. Nice hotel. Always return there. Made my reservation on line for better rate. Would recommend this hotel. Clean, good service. Convenient to I 75.
thank you so much to the staff at the wapakoneta, ohio best western. everything was great and we cant wait to come stay again. my kids had a blast in the pool. me and my husband loved the jet tub in the room. i was an awesome night and great morning
A very clean comfortable hotel near Interstate 75. There are several restaurants nearby. I would especially like to thank Lyndsi at the front desk. She did a fine job and was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
I had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. Friendly, helpful and efficient service. Comfortable and clean rooms. Close to food restaurants. Express check out was impressive as it made my early morning check out a breeze.
Hotel was fully booked, yet I slept without hearing others. But the pillows were oddly shaped and overly stuffed. I recommend the hotel if you can get a good price, but insist on normal rectangular pillows of varying densities.
This is a very nice hotel. Right off the highway. Marlene at the Front Desk was wonderful - very friendly, fun, and helpful. They also offer free cookies at the Front Desk! Our room was very nice and our bed was extremely comfortable. The pool and hottub were also very nice. The hot breakfast was very good. We'd easily stay here again.
This hotel is very friendly and go out of their way to take care of the guest. The breakfast is great and has a very clean area. The rooms are very clean. I stay here every time I'm in town and will always stay here. Has very good eating places close by.
Checkin was smooth, the room was comfortable. Couple things could use some updating.. Nothing that distracted from the stay. Breakfast Options are straight forward. No problem.. It was quiet stay, if I were in the area again, I would consider this Motel
Nice room with 2 queen beds, good selection for breakfast, also has a pool room and work out room. Right off of Interstate 75, all employees were very polite. I thought the bed was good quality, 4 pillows!, free wifi, free breakfast.
I stayed at the Wapakoneta Best Western in a king/whirlpool suite. I was astounded at the value for my money. The room was clean and nicely appointed. I could not have asked for better. Highly recommend this hotel. Not a lot of good restaurant choices in Wapa, but that's not BW's fault.
Ottoman needed to be moved and swept under. Lamp base needed a more complete dusting. Bathrooms are very tight. Close bathroom door to go to bathroom.Everything was great. People very friendly and helpful.
This Hotel was what I would call expensive. The lobby was nice the place had a wide front stairway, and it also had an elevator. The room was pretty nicely appointed. There was a desk and chair and a upholstered sitting chair. There were Two Complimentary bottles of water in the refrigerator. The bed was a queen size. The quality of the mattress was poor. It sagged in the middle and the springs were coming through the padding to the point where we felt them when we laid on the thing. The exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like an aircraft was trying to take off from the motel room
We stayed at Best Western at Wapakoneta last September and we were very happy with the overall service. The staff were very helpful, caring, professional and kind. They also mailed the items we forgot in the hotel upon check out.
Easy fast friendly vary handy staff went out of there way to be helpful breakfast hot and fresh staff. On location beds and rooms where clean. Bathroom are supper small no place to put your hand towel during your shower
Stopped here on a long journey. The hotel is very clean and quiet, not updated but not old or unbearable. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool area. And the staff was pleasant. Breakfast was good as well, many choices and it didn't taste like fake food, eggs, bacon, potatoes and warm biscuits. I would recommend this hotel.
The room was well furnished and planned--the best I have ever stayed in, even in more expensive hotels. The bathroom had more than half a dozen grab bars as well as a phone extension. The closet was modified for full accessibility for someone in a wheelchair. Even the door to the room had an additional wheelchair level peep hole!
This rooms in this hotel are all on interior corridors. Our room was very nice. Breakfast was very good. The breakfast room was large enough. I used the treadmill in the fitness center and it worked well. The staff was pleasant and professional. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel.
The hotel is always very clean, beds are comfortable and amenities great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We visit Wapakoneta every year for 4 or 5 days and always enjoy our stay at this hotel. Next to I75, but never hear a sound from the heavy traffic.
we stayed one night in the BW and were very happy with our experience. The woman working at check in was delightful and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. Cookies and hot chocolate after a dip in the pool made for a fun evening. We enjoyed breakfast and found the selection a bit larger than at some other hotels. We also were happy with the cleanliness of the guest room as well as the pool, breakfast area, bathrooms, and entrance/front desk.
Choose this hotel for the heated pool, he pool was a little cool but hot tub was definitely HOT and very relaxing. Breakfast was acceptable with waffles, eggs, cereal and fruit. All Staff we encountered was very pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.
Nice breakfast- lots to choose from, clean rooms, comfy beds with lots of extra pillows and friendly staff. We were on a work trip but we would definitely stay here again. Pool and hot tub were well maintained, wish we had more time to enjoy them.
The hotel was clean, roomie, and staff was very friendly. The refrigerator was good size. It was quiet. Good location with easy access to routes. Price was very reasonable. Would recommend this hotel to travelers in the area.
I have stayed at every hotel in Wapak over the years and this is the best option. The staff is great, rooms are clean, provides a full breakfast and has indoor pool with hot tub. The other hotel in town with an indoor pool (Holiday Inn ) does not have a hot tub which is a factor for me. I appreciate the breakfast has plenty of choices for different tastes, including healthier options. Also, the gym is small but effective- treadmill, elliptical, bike and universal weight machine.
This hotel is right off the main highway and easy to get to. The room was nice size and very clean. It was close to the Armstrong air and space museum. The free breakfast had a nice choice of items to choose from.
Stayed here on a recent business trip. The hotel is right off the highway and close to several fast food restaurants. The room was clean and all the hotel staff were great. I would stay here again the next time I travel this way.
I got my legs bitten up by bugs. I got my legs bitten up by bugs. Worst place to stay. Manager will not return my calls. Never had this problem any place else. I'am a Platinum card holder and cannot get any service
Nice clean Hotel right off of highway. Good price. Definitely will stay here again. The staff were very friendly. Hotel is pet friendly but unfortunately I wasn't able to bring my furbaby this trip, hopefully next time.
Clean, comfortable, quiet. Please be aware this is a pet friendly motel. They do not guarantee the room you get has not had a pet in it. If you are allergic to animals you might want to stay at a different place.
We love Best Westerns, and this one was one of the best. Comfortable bed, spacious room, friendly and accommodating staff. There was sometimes a little lag with the internet, but I attribute that to possibly being fully booked. We attended Country Concert '17, and many other guests were doing the same thing.
Selected this hotel for a quick overnight due to T.A. reviews and was not disappointed. Wish the price could have been a bit less for such a short stay, but we enjoyed it. Room was clean and the breakfast was quite good. No reason not to give it an excellent as it met our short term needs very well but then again we were not there too long to give more in depth feedback. So caveat emptor.
We enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a sporting event. Bed and food were our man focus by the time we got back in. In walking distance to Pizza Hut and Arby's good location and great staff. You get your money's worth.
Best Western is one of my favorite hotels to stay at and this was yet again proved how fantastic they are. We were in town for El Dora Speedway races and we wanted to also stay in a hotel that offered the comforts we enjoy along with nice staff. I was not disappointed. The front desk staff, breakfast staff and on the floor staff were magnificent. They are friendly, accommodating, helpful and so personable. The breakfast was well displayed and tasty. The coffee was nice, hot and delicious. Our room was very clean, comfortable bed, plenty of towels, nice and quiet. We were about 30 minutes from El Dora Speedway and that was just fine. It allowed us to explore a few other small towns along the way there. The price is perfect for travelers. I highly recommend staying there is you are driving through.
My husband's family is from St. Marys, OH (right down the road from Wapakoneta), so we've stayed in various places when visiting them over the years. This Best Western is by far the best place that we've stayed. The front-desk staff was friendly and accommodating, as was the breakfast staff. The breakfast was standard (some hot food, lots of continental options), but nicely done; the coffee was good and the area was kept very clean. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was great for us. Since it is right off the highways (75 and 33), we were able to get to St. Marys within 15 minutes. We didn't go to any restaurants in the area, but there are several chains that are very close. We would definitely stay here again!
Price was right, pleasant staff, clean room (although there was a smell of not quite fresh, but not dirty smell either), no bugs, clean bathroom (toilet seemed low), good shower. Breakfast was average, sufficient. Pool and hottub areas were clean, relaxing. Easy to find off expressway.
I have always stay at the Best Western Hotels when we travel we are an older couple so we do not travel much anymore but when we do i pick Best Western to stay at I like their handicap Showers and the people there are so helpful always a smile
Made a reservation, had no idea what kind of B.W. it might be. Very nice, helpful staff, clean, and good breakfast. Bed a bit soft for us, but certainly fine for the night. I would ask for a bedroom in the back next time, expressway right outside the window!! But if you are used to that kind of highway noise good, we live in the woods!!
Excellent amenities. I really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and the pool was refreshing. The breakfast was one of the best I have had in a hotel for a long time. There were many choices and the coffee was really good. The staff were helpful and extremely professional as well as friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I have stayed here before and this will not be my last time. There are other hotels in the area but this is by far the best.
Room never smelled clean. Not bad, but just a bit off. Everything else was top notch. The lightbulbs in the sink needed replaced. They handled it straight away. Breakfast was hot and always fresh. Wifi worked perfectly.
After 2 weeks on the road and 5 different hotels, I landed here. This was by far the nicest/ best of the 5 hotels I had stayed at. Very clean rooms, looked new, friendly staff, good breakfast. Thanks!
The room was clean, had comfortable beds, and breakfast was satisfying. Our only complaint was the pool water being to cold for us to swim, and the strong chlorine as soon as you walked in. The property overall was clean and well maintained, and the staff friendly.
Has all the amenities i want.A very adequate breakfast. Excellent location next to moon city. Clean $ 100.00 a night after tax booked at location. Bowling alley and moon museum within walking distance. Very safe location with almost no crime.
We stay at this Best Western each March. The breakfast room is very well maintained, and the pool/hot tub are great. Our family always is pleased with the friendly staff and how well the property is maintained. We will be staying here again! Thank you to the Best Western staff.
1. The room had a very strong cleaning chemical smell when I check in. I was able to open the window and air the room out which helped. 2. The in-room coffee maker was a problem. When making a morning coffee I saw a hair inside the water reservoir. I cleaned this out and then added water to make a coffee. I put the coffee in my thermos for use later and when I took a sip the coffee was full of some chemical taste that made it undrinkable.
Poor mattress, outdated decor but clean. Room smelled of cleaning supplies. Had to open window to air the room out. Woke up with back pain due to mattress spring poking me in the back. Will not stay again.
I frequently visit family in the Lima area. It would be more convenient to stay in Lima proper, but I'm a Rewards member that doesn't mind staying the extra 15 freeway miles away. This hotel offers EXCELLENT value. The rooms routinely cost under $100 and are very clean. I have to come to enjoy staying at this hotel very much.
My husband and I stayed here two nights for a long weekend. Check in was efficient and friendly. We had requested an upper floor, end room and that's exactly what we got. Room was a basic hotel room but was clean and had everything we needed including a fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and we both slept great. We also liked the fact that the sink/mirror area was out in the entryway of the room rather than in the bathroom, that way one of us could be using the sink/counter while the other was in the shower. Our room did face I-75 and some people might be bothered by the constant highway noise but we simply turned the fan on and that created just enough white noise to drown that out. The breakfast was more than sufficient and they even had a few different choices the second morning from the first which was a nice surprise. Everything was well stocked and the hot food was hot and the cold stuff nice and cold. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool or hot tub but it did look clean and very inviting. The hotel was very quiet both nights and we weren't bothered at all by loud voices, constant slamming doors, other guests' pets, or anything else unpleasant. Parking lot is well lit and we were able to park right outside our window both evenings. We had a great experience all the way around and will stay here again when we come back to Wapak.
A good hotel for the price, unfortunately my room was by the exit door and people were in and out at all hours going for a smoke! Message to self "get room away from the exit door"! And it's time that people LEARN to close their room door QUIETLY instead of allowing it to slam behind them, be considerate!!!
Booked room for 2 nights and was charged a 3rd night! Only found this out after checking my credit card statement. Called manager and he stated "too bad you booked it-you pay for it-can't help it you were a no-show"! Best Western customer service said nothing we can do.
Great breakfast. Tasty and good variety. Be sure to check out the glass etching on the breakfast room window. Menus in the lobby were helpful. Clean and Comfortable room. Nice location, close to freeway and the museum.
Best Western was in heart of Wapakoneta and convenient to everything we did that weekend. It was clean and staff was very helpful. Breakfast was nice and convenient. I would stay there every time I'm Wapak.
We stayed here when we were doing the longest yardsale along Rt 127. It was about 25 minutes off 127 so we didn't have the crazy rush of the other hotels. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Check in and out was a breeze. We would stay here again.
The hotel was nice and reasonably priced. The Sat. breakfast of a flat, thin, scrambled egg was bad. On Sunday, the scrambled eggs were fresh cooked and served with bacon, potatoes, and sausage. It was quite good.
Great hotel! The grounds were beautifully kept. The parking lot was clean. The staff was always busy making the inside look good. The room was well appointed and comfortable. Everything worked! I recommend this hotel.
The staff is very friendly and caring. The hotel was clean and there was plenty of food places to eat at close by. Everything from a sit down restaurant to fast food. Even though its a little drive to Lima it well worth the stay here. Very quiet and peaceful here. We'll be back again on our next visit to Lima.
This hotel had all the features and feel of a 4-star hotel at a 3-star price. We travelled form overseas to go to Eldora Speedway, some 45 minutes drive away. As it was a major event, hotels in all surrounding areas were booked out. We chose this hotel based of ratings and it was very much worthwhile. Features: The pool is excellent. The spa is seriously warm. The gym... They have a small gym set aside. We used it. Had the basics for what you needed. The room: It was a neat, tidy 3-star room. Had a fridge which was very useful. Air con was nice. Breakfast: Really nice... With really nice staff. We miscalculated the breakfast one weekend, thinking it closed at 10:30am and arrived at 9:55am to discover it closed in 5 minutes. We stayed longer than 10am. The staff had every right to ask us to leave - or get short with us. They didn't. They politely cleaned around us, whilst we got some food in and left around 10:10am. The courtesy of the breakfast staff was very much appreciated. In fact from front end staff to cleaners... They were all very courteous. I could;t say a bad word about them. They made our three night stay a pleasure. If you are in Wapakoneta.... I would definitely recommend.
hotel was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was good. overall experience was good. did have a barking dog in nearby room that interrupted sleep. staff did approach the guests and the barking stopped after a short while.
The hotel was very clean and the hotel staff was helpful and friendly. I liked it because the hotel was pet friendly. Our room was nice. The hotel is convenient to the highway and to lots of places to eat. The breakfast buffet was awesome.
Very friendly people and excellent service at this hotel. All areas in the hotel we visited were clean including the pool area. The outside of the hotel is also very clean and well maintained. Room was clean and smelled pleasant. Planning a return trip next year to finish exploring the area.
We were staying her to go to the dirt track races at Eldora. Many other were there for the same reason, including some drivers. Checking as quick easy and friendly. The room was well appointed and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was typical-waffles, biscuits, gravy, cereal, etc. The lady working in the breakfast room did a great job with the hotel full-worked so hard and nothing ever ran out Bed was good, but maybe new towels are required. All the staff we met were friendly. We will stay again for the next race.
After a long, hot day on the road it was a delight to stop at the BEST WESTERN Wapakoneta Inn. The young woman on the desk was delightful and went to extra trouble to help us with directions for the following day. The gentleman in the breakfast room was very nice, helpful and friendly. The Inn is clean and the staff were exceptional. We really enjoyed it and would definitely stop there again when passing through.
This place is clean, staff friendly. The breakfast was nice, even had bacon and potatoes in addition to the usual fare! However, we had 2 queen beds and they were small queen beds! I would describe it as doubles with an extra inch!
Even though it was a stopover ,the room gave me a great rest with a great Breakfast the next Day. The shower was amazing with the bathroom amenities plus. We were happy that there was two bottles of cold water bottles in the fridge. The front desk was very nice and presented me with her name and explained the services the Hotel has to offer.
Whole experience was good from start to finish. I will definitely think of Best Western 1st for my overnight needs, in the future. The breakfast had great options. It was quiet and comfortable. The whole experience was a good one.
Staying at the Best Western in Wapakoneta, Ohio made our trip super easy. The room was clean and very nice. There was an indoor pool and hot tub. Breakfast was a little different each day with many choices. The staff was extremely helpful and the price was reasonable. This Best Western is just off I-75 so traveling north or south makes for an easy on/off the expressway situation. Wapakoneta itself has a lot to offer. A small town with charm, restaurants, and antique stores. Best Western is across the street from Bob Evans Restaurant which is fabulous, but there are several fast food places nearby as well. This Best Western is highly recommended for every category! We will stay there again.
This is a hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was good. I eat gluten free and I could eat here. They have a nice clean pool and a fitness centre. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning swim. The linen is very clean and the bed was comfortable. Everything was in good working order and not worn out..
booked rooms on line and got a quoted price. When we got to the hotel they upgraded a room on there own and charged the upgrade fee. When approached they agreed it was not our fault and should not be charged. They have refunded 1/2 the upgrade rate but have a hard time subtracting the actual rate when they have the paperwork in front of them. They make it the customers problem that they screwed up and you have to chase after them.
Requested first floor because had heavy oxygen concentrator and IIT was ready when we arrived. I made this request when booking online. Evening desk lady was very pleasant and helpful. It would be great if there was a nightlight in room as room was very dark when lights were out. App. They have provided in past but they always disappear! Too bad some ruin it for others!!?
I travel here for business frequently. I have stayed in every hotel in the area and this is the best. It is always clean and the staff is always friendly. For a mid price level hotel this is a good one.
Very nice suite to have a meal and watch tv. The place was comfortable, clean and modern. Check-in staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for anything more for a night stay on the road home.
Perfect for leisure, and business, close to restaurants and shopping needs, set off the expressway and safe, secure environment. Had a great nights sleep, and breakfast was just enough, the waffle maker was a hit with the family.
We stayed 1 night. We called a lot of hotels in the area. Everything was booked. Large construction project going on in the area. Beth had 1 room left she held it for us. She is very friendly and helpful. Clean hotel Comfortable bed Great selection for breakfast Thanks for everything
Warning: If you happen to be one of those Moon Landing conspiracists (and you know who you are) who believe that Neil Armstrong's 1969 feat ("One step for Man...") was simply cooked up in a TV studio by President Nixon's political gang, then you should keep driving. Wapakoneta is Armstrong's hometown, a town so small it probably has more letters than people, but still as fervently proud and protective of his memory as Ohio's other flyboys, from the Wright Brothers to fellow astronaut Senator John Glenn; Wapakoneta's three-block "historic district" even gave Armstrong a ticker tape parade when he returned home from, yes, the moon. The legend still lives on: there is a cross-section between Lunar and Apollo drives and, of course, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum. So what else do the moon and Wapakoneta have in common other than the fact that they are both slightly out of the way? Perhaps because of this history and its oddly synchronized name, as catchy as some ragtime lyric, a road cult of fans for this 60's era two-story motel has built up over the years, including this regular visitor. It doesn't need Armstrong's lunar aura either: smaller towns and places can be safer and more secure than big city ones and there has always been a small-town cheerful neighborliness that must have made Armstrong happy to come home. It has always updated itself and still puts out a breakfast spread that would make a church picnic proud. Nothing to complain about here. Except perhaps the Wapakonetans may be taking this special spot for granted. It's not the hardware or the fresh sheets, but on a recent trip the front desk and hotel staff seemed about as listless and disinterested as codgers on dusty rockers in front of an ancient cigar and souvenir store. That Armstrong special magic may have just stalled. When the fitness room equipment clanked and repeatedly dropped its programs and the wipe dispenser was empty, the front desk person appeared startled by the report and mentioned something about taking it up with the General Manager. After making an apology for such a troubling request, she responded: "that's all right, how would we know unless you reported it?" Wrong. That's what housekeeping engineers and service people are supposed to be doing. When a local delivery place (recommended by the BW) somehow lost the phone and room number and arrived 40 minutes later with a hamburger, the manager asked: "Is it cold?" They took another 20 minutes to deliver a patty (without the bun or wilted French fries). Is the message that it was easier to land a man on the moon than deliver a hamburger in Wapakoneta. The breakfast was there, but the cook wasn't, and so on. The missing pieces aren't helped by a page-long Mission Statement in each room and little "Our Commitment to You" notes. The Mission Statement (every corporate grind already knows so-1990's) drones on and on: "We guarantee your 100% satisfaction... take a routine interaction and make it something memorable..." A long, long way from "a giant step for mankind." In the end, there was just something flattening and deflating about this stay. Sometimes those intangibles that belong under the heading of customer service are even more important than what you put in the room or on the breakfast table. Perhaps the staff is being put through too many mission statements and focus groups to remember what was really special and memorable about their property. This comes at a time when Best Western competition in other places is being revitalized with their own choices and a new mid-size Holiday Inn Express has recently opened within sight of Lunar Drive. You can also see the moon from there.
This was our first stop on our way from Ontario to the Florida Panhandle. We knew we could travel as far as Wapakoneta, Ohio regardless of the weather. Everything and everyone we came into contact with at this Best Western could not have been improved upon. There was an elevator to the second floor. Lots of brochures for areas further south. The Neil Armstrong Museum (first landing on the moon era) was across the road. Lots of gas stations close by. Walmart around the corner for anything we forgot and very easy access from and to the I-75. Will always stop here. Great start to our great vacation.
We booked in advance on our way to Florida and as we were travelling with our dog and were limited to available hotels. We find the US is not nearly as dog friendly as other countries in this respect, however the hotel was dog friendly for an added fee of $20 US. Unfortunately after booking into our room, we found a partially drunk bottle of water in the fridge and an opened, half used bottle of mouthwash on the desk. Upon inspection of the rest of the room, we determined that clean linens were on the bed and care had been taken to clean the bathroom etc. (although there certainly was a lot of grunge in the corners of the bathroom). The bed itself was reasonably comfortable and there were lots of pillows. Noise was not a factor. When the cleaning issues were brought to the attention of the front desk staff the next morning, they were apologetic and offered to refund half of the dog fee ($10 US), which is slightly ironic as they charge this fee for additional cleaning! The breakfast was acceptable, with lots of selection of cold items and a few warm ones on offer. Overall, an acceptable one night stop-over but without the dog I'd stay at the Holiday Inn Express across the road for about the same money.
While traveling back and forth to Florida every winter we always arrange to stay at the Best Western Wapakoneta, OHIO. The rooms are comfortable, the service is wonderful and the hotel is very clean. Breakfast is just perfect to start your travel day off and we always book the same hotel on our way home from Florida in the spring. It is always a great experience.
The atmosphere of the entire hotel and our individual room made us feel at home. For a "free" breakfast, it was the best breakfast we had ever had...and the hot tub is always a plus! You can tell when a person is genuinely nice when you talk to them and thats exactly how we felt the Best Western staff was in Wapakoneta.
This hotel is conveniently located right off I-75. It offers rooms that are clean, and have a small refrigerator, microwave. Internet is available in all rooms free of charge. Several fast food places and gas stations are within 1/2 mile radius of the Best Western.
Very clean, great breakfast and staff so helpful. Was on a road trip to Florida and the front desk worked with me to book next destination and was so knowledgeable. Place was reasonable & welcoming. Would stay here again if in the area! Breakfast was good and offered healthy options like fresh fruit! And our king size bed was so very comfortable & I'm picky about my bed.
Staff is warm and pleasant and accommodating, in every way. Will return mostly for business purposes. Excellent choice for the cost. Establishment is and older structure but well taken care of. Very safe and friendly community. Restaurants are limited but you can travel to Lima which is about 15 minutes north for a broader selection. There are however several local places with excellent food. Must try the Alpha Café downtown.
Hotel was nice. Guest room was clean and had many amenities. Pool and hot tub were nice as well. Breakfast was plentiful and quite tasty. Food was hot. Great value for the dollar. Would stay here again.
This was our second stay. Rooms great, breakfast probably the best of it's type that we have had, great friendly staff. Expect this will become a regular stop on our trips through the area. Easy to find off I75.
We picked this spot as a stop on our way to Florida. Everything about this hotel was perfect for these reasons: close to the highway, price was good, and honestly, the included breakfast was one of the best I have had in a "breakfast included" hotel. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
This hotel was well worth the money. The room was clean and well maintained. the breakfast was hot and had a good selection of food and fruit. the staff was super good to us and very friendly, they made us feel at home here.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Very nice and clean and the staff is great! It is in a great location with a lot of accommodations. Everything is close..the mall, museum, lot's of food variety choices and always something to do..The pool was great and the hotel surroundings was calm and quiet if you need to rest up or just relax and get away!
Just a one night stopover - Clean room, nice pool, friendly staff, adequate breakfast, not the best beds. I expect better beds from a Best Western. It was pretty good value for the price. Would stay again.
We had a basketball tournament in your town and were thankful you let us stay their and had such helpful workers. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The our room had an order to it when we walked in but had and enjoyable time and the kids loved swimming Thanks again
We enjoyed our stay! Hotel was nicely updated and our room was large, clean and nicely done. We had a dog and they charged an additional $20. We had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend this hotel.
I have stayed a number of Best Westerns over the last 30 years in Canada & the USA and this one at Wapakoneta, OHIO rates right up there with the best of them. Was easily accessible off the interstate. Very clean room and kitchen area. Staff were very friendly & professional.
First class all the way; rooms, staff, property... it exceeded my expectations in every way. Room had lots of space, bed was extremely comfortable, clean, water pressure great. Property was well cared for and easy to find.
We like to stop in Wapakoneta as it's midway to our destination. This is the first time we stayed at this hotel but will not be the last. It was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, nicer than usual continental breakfast with several choices and attendant making sure everything was running smoothly. Wi-fi and computer center on site.
This hotel is where I stay when in Wapakoneta, Ohio. After my first stay at this hotel, I never considered any others. They have ice rooms with good amenities (hot tub), a friendly staff, and good value. Why even look for another place?
Needed to stop around midnight and pulled off here. First tried Holiday Inn, and moved along when price was too high. Night manager was very nice, accommodating and we got a room with CAA for $89. Clean, comfy and great full hot breakfast. Staff (lady) in breakfast room was very nice.
This place was absolutely amazing.. The breakfast was incredible, the bed was nice and comfy, the staff was very friendly, the room was extremely clean. We would definitely stay here again! And the hotel smelled so good!!
Awesome stay at this location. Room very clean beds very very comfortable. The continential breakfast some of the best around. Ending our days in the hot tub was wonderful. One of the best locations we stayed at.
I have stayed in this hotel and another nearby hotel. Best Western is clearly the better choice. For a few dollars more, the front desk service is better. The room quality is superior and you get free breakfast as well. For your next trip, make your reservation at Best Western.
Room was clean, beds comfy. Staff was neat and tidy in appearance. Hotel was quiet and it was full! Breakfast was more than adequate and there was something for everyone. Will stay here again, without question. Great stay.
Our room on the ground floor was very quiet, and comfortable. There was a little more space than I expected. The Continental Breakfast was very generous, and had healthy food choices as well as fried selections. The counter staff left no impression good or bad, but I really didn't ask them for anything extra either. I had no issues with them. The breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful, and made sure I was having a great meal.
I cancelled a hotel reservation nearly 6 months ago and woke up to a nearly $200 charge on my credit card. This is the second time a Best Western has charged me for a stay after I have cancelled. Hopefully management will resolve this issue so I don't have to take things further. At this point in time however all I can say is beware as they may charge you despite your canceling. Update: I called early around 9am Pacific time. It is now 5:15 with no call back. The person that answered the phone said that she would have the manager/owner call me to handle this. I have not received a call. It should not take this long to deal with such a thing. A hotel that has no manager available all day? Kind of ridiculous. I had also called back a couple hours later and she wouldn't let me talk to the manager/owner or they we unavailable? Idk either way this is not the way to deal with customers. Still hopeful however that they will correct their error and refund me my money. 48 hours have now gone by with no phone call... 72 hours with no phone call but it seems to have dropped off my credit card so lets hope it stays that way. Many days later the charge is back. Called the hotel the manager basically refused to help and said his employees would never make this mistake. I called Best Western they said to call the hotel back because they can't do anything about it since they are independently owned. Called back and the owner was basically calling me a liar. I guess the owner would rather me post bad reviews all over the internet than refund me. Stupid.
We needed a place to stay at the last minute. We decided Wapakoneta, Ohio would be a good half-way mark for us. We were very happy with the cleanliness, the staff, and, a very nice breakfast was offered! The hotel is right off of I 75, a main highway but it was very quiet. The beds are very comfortable and I would not hesitate to stay there again! As a bonus, there is a pool and a fitness room, which were a nice surprise!
