Best Western Plus Camperdown Suites

Located conveniently near public transport (buses) to the CBD and walking distance to hospitals (RPA, Lifehouse) and pubs, restaurants and cafes. The king kitchenette was smallish but comfortable enough and had a bench for PC and an office chair. Microwave and basic utensils for reheating food, but the TV was free to air only. The check-in went smoothly but the checkout was a problem. There is limited parking on site, so we parked at another venue around the corner. On departure day, Friday 17 April, on the first trip around 8am well before checkout, we told reception that we needed to make a few trips with bags to the car before checking out. However, it appears that the receptionist cancelled our room access as soon as we left the building. On return we were unable to enter our room, went down to reception, and was told by the receptionist that I must have bolted the door from the inside. I informed her that there was no bolt. She said I can give you a new swipe card. This swipe card did not work. On return to reception, she said she would rekey it and I had to try it again. This key did not work, and returned to reception, she realised then she had given me a swipe card to a different room. She accompanied me to our room with a master key, and as the room could not be lit, I had to collect our remaining belongings in the dark and had to carry a larger amount of luggage in one trip to the car. This was a very distressing way to end our stay. We paid good money for a comfortable stay and did not appreciate being gaslighted by an incompetent checkout.

I stayed here when my father was being treated at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. I had initially stayed at Rydges (Camperdown) for several days before moving to the Best Western Plus. The Best Western is far better than Rydges, and only another minute's walk to COB Lifehouse. The room was immaculate and had everything I needed - a good and well-provisioned kitchenette, even washing powder was provided for the laundry. The internet speed was approx. 80Mbps download and the same for upload. Comfy bed, ice cold aircon, and great shower pressure. The property is family-owned, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying again. The only small negative I found was that the guest laundry closed at 8 pm; it would help if it were later for people spending all day/evening at the nearby hospitals.

Comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and had a well equipped kitchenette. Laundry facilities were available and inexpensive. Location wise there were frequent buses to the CBD. As a tourist I opted for a less expensive hotel around 15 minutes from the CBD rather than stay in the heart of Sydney. I am glad I did and would stay here again.

I will not stay at this hotel in the future. The Hotel Manager upset me the first minute I arrived at the hotel. He had charged my credit card for my entire stay prior to me arriving at the hotel. This resulted in costing me an additional $175 in currency exchange rate charges. The primary reason that I have planned to stay at Best Western Plus Camperdown Suites was the use of a kitchen. I was disappointed as the hotel room contained only a microwave oven and a refrigerator. There were no coffee maker, toaster, oven, and hot plate. I could not use my laptop at the hotel because my anti-virus software informed me that the hotel internet was insecure and my passwords would be exposed. When I informed the hotel manager, he advised me to disable my anti-virus software. Well, during my life I have done some stupid things; but, never that stupid. The hotel manager informed me that I needed to shut the bathroom door while taking a shower. He said the steam could set off the fire alarm and I would be charged $1600 dollars. So, assuming that I did have kitchen facilities (which I did not), I would have been too intimidated to use them in fear of setting off the fire alarm and being charged $1600. I did not use the air conditioning because the smell of the air was terrible. I informed the receptionist; but apparently no action was taken to fix the problem. On the positive side, and the room was quiet, the receptionists were friendly, and the hotel cleaning staff did an excellent job.

Easy to locate and very friendly staff. Clean room with daily make up. Sadly we had a queen bed in the room which was too soft and probably the side where I slept had broken springs which squeak with each move. As for car park there are probably 2 lots on-site and the off-site is across the street in a church compound. Otherwise take the bus just outside the hotel main door and they bring you to most places and cheap too. We had the room with balcony facing the side street and it can be noisy as its just at the road junction. Otherwise a comfortable stay.

Beautiful smiles and compassionate staff — Simran checked me in and was very warm and courteous. The housekeeper with short hair (apologies, I didn't catch her name) was equally welcoming and made my stay very comfortable and relaxed, especially as I attended hospital appointments. Good Place to stay if you are visiting Royal Prince Alfred Hospital . Very Clean and Comfortable . Highly Recommend.

Lovely staff on the front desk. Tired... noisy air conditioner, old, so opened window instead, but woke before 5 to the sound of relentless traffic... ongoing. Closed window, but it's still really loud, even over the sound of the noisy air conditioner. No hangers. The tiny bathroom has no bench space. Only a basin. They did provide a magnifying mirror on a stand that was great but no room for it in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, so the noise was the main issue beyond the small space.

The service was absolutely amazing! We were upgraded to a bigger room and the room was lovely and clean. Great location! Will definitely stay again!

It was an awful experience. We visited the hotel a few weeks earlier to check it out, and the room my parents ended up staying in was very different from the one we were shown. If we had seen this room, we definitely wouldn't have booked it. To make matters worse, they did not get a minute of sleep because of the night roadworks happening right outside the hotel. Utility companies inform local businesses and residents about these works, but they didn't think it was necessary to warn their guests. If you're happy to stay on the busiest and noisiest road in Sydney, Parramatta Road, then this is the place for you.

We recently stayed at the Best Western for 4 nights, the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was well decorated but somewhat cramped they describe them as luxury suites but there isn't enough space to consider them luxurious, with a very small ensuite, a tiny kitchenette, there was a reasonable size TV but the streaming wouldn't work, we had a King size bed that wasn't overly comfortable and the Air conditioning was ineffective we would be unlikely to stay there again.

Close to RPA, which was perfect for this trip. My room was at the rear of the building and on the top level, so there was no traffic noise. It was too hot to use the cute little veranda overlooking the central courtyard, but it was nice to look at while working at the desk. Super clean and serviced every day of my stay, which was a nice touch. Staff were really friendly, too. Will definitely stay again.

Perfect location with bus stop just outside. Friendly, serviceminded staff both at the reception and housekeeping. Very clean and well maintained room and other hotel areas. Comfortable bed! I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back.

My room was incredibly noisy despite being reassured I would be given a quiet room as requested and explained clearly via email of my circumstances. Being given this noisy room despite my request, was incredibly stressful an put me in a circumstance which was not ideal for my medical appointments. I would have appreciated honesty in relation to the noisiness and location of my room on the main road above the intersection. I would have been able to book somewhere quieter, as I requested in my email; and I would have been in a much better condition for my appointments. The bedroom had a door however which kept a lot of the road traffic noise out, and I was advised to spend the day and night in the bedroom with the tv on to help avoid the traffic noise. The hot water system was broken so I had no shower after travelling and preparation for medical treatment. I see a previous reviewer the week prior mentioned there was no hot water in their bathroom also. I advised told that getting a plumber at 6pm at night would cost $200 and would not be possible and no other rooms were available, nor any at the Rydges close by. I was however generously offered to have a shower in the managers apartment which was kind, but not something I felt comfortable with. Toaster broken. I had to have a light breakfast prior to my appointment, so I brought my own toast specifically because accommodation had a ‘kitchenette'. Cold bread. Just the most horrible experience. I was offered a discount the next time I stayed for my future treatment, but upon reflection; I will choose somewhere else.

The staff at great western plus Camperdown suites are brilliant, they are very kind and courteous , the room I was in was very clean and was looked after each day the free supplies were stocked each day if used , the room had a microwave cutlery,plates ,bowls ect so you could heat meals up and have in the privacy of the room,overall I was very pleased it was worth the money .

Excellent service. The staff here cared for me very well while I was in Camperdown for my husband's medical needs. With short notice booking at a very busy time, the staff made rooms available to me for the duration of my stay and relocated my belongings for me whilst I was out. I felt well cared for.

This was our second visit to Camperdown Suites. Both times the staff were excellent, very professional and friendly. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. Highly recommended for anyone looking for accomodation in the Camperdown area

This hotel is clean, tidy, neat and have very wonderful and understanding staff. I usually stay in the Rydges due to my work at RPA and Centenary Institute. This is my first time in this hotel and was pleasently surprise by the police staff and wonderful service provided by the hotel. Definately a hotel to stay with family and friends and I recommend it to all.

I've stayed here a few times and I'm never disappointed. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly and do the utmost to help. The rooms are clean and comfortable and you have everything you need. It's very conveniently located to the RPA hospital complex.

Excellent, rooms cleaned daily, towels changed ,air con, free wifi safe etc ,fab location on bus route 4 stops to Sydney centre , where you can tram, ferry, train to all top tourist places, safe place to stay

Fairly standard ‘suite' offering from Best Western. Rooms were small (as expected) as was the bathroom but all the regular amenities were packed in. Very clean and our room was quiet. Located on the edge of the University District and one of the big hospitals near by. Never did find the “secure off-site” parking but did find a spot nearby on the street. There is no dedicated luggage drop off/registration spot for your vehicle as street in front of hotel is busy. A number of restaurants within a short walk.

Very pleasant stay, very friendly and helpful staff, our room was clean, the water pressure in the shower was fantastic and the bathroom was very nice. Car parking is off site but very close and worth paying the extra if needed.

This hotel is centrally located with very easy access to inexpensive public transportation. It's family owned and run and the family & employees (especially Vernice on the weekends) could not be more friendly and helpful - from transportation and dining tips to cool things to do in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, especially the beds with their fluffy pillow-tops. The kitchenettes have hotpots, coffee & tea and bisquits. I'd definitely stay there again!

I would highly recommend staying there as the rooms were very clean and nice and i was treated very kindly and courteously by all. Even given a discount because we were there for my wife's surgery at RPA Hospital.

My husband was rushed to RPA late one the 18/10/23. I rang Best Western, hoping they had something available for myself and mother in law. The customer service was 10/10, we were offered an incredible, for an amazing price, and was made to feel instantly comfortable by the staff. Everyone went out of their way to help us, something that I will forever be grateful for. Thank you all so much

Great staff, excellent communication. The room was perfect for our stay. It was was clean and provided everything we needed and was perfect location for us needing to attend RPA. Even the decor was perfect. They even donate the parking to the church!!

Very clean and well looked after. The bed really comfortable and sheets were changed daily. The amenties are useful and stocked well. The selection of complemetary bottle water, teas,coffees and biscuits was great and restocked daily. Ryan on the desk was awesome and very helpful.

This was the best hotel, super amazing kind friendly staff, thanks to Ryan who was super helpful and hopefully he gets a raise. We will definately be back next time we are over there. This may not be your regular 4 or 5 star hotel. Let's face it, the rooms are pretty small BUT they're incredibly compact, extremely comfortable, well-presented and extraordinarily clean. In fact, the entire hotel is so scrupulously clean, I knew if my mother were still alive, she'd be declaring the floors so clean "that you could eat your dinner off them". Plus, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and professionally friendly. Situated very close to Sydney University and RPA Hospital, there's an express bus-stop to the city right outside the hotel's door, as well as a plethora of shops, pubs, cafes, bars & restaurants within easy walking distance. Onsite undercover parking is also available, but limited - so if you need it, book your space as soon as you can. In summary, Best Western Camperdown Suites is, in these financially difficult times, is indeed fantastic value for money.

Visiting Lifehouse for work and found this close by hotel. Excellent price and although had smaller room by choice was excellently set up with small but well set up kitchen, reasonable space to move around including desk space. Level 2 has balcony which was nice. Some road noise but beds comfortable and slept well. Very clean and tidy and overall nice feel.

The Staff (especially Margaret & Verniece) were over the top friendly, helpful, kind-hearted, and efficient. The hotel was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect and the complimentary laundry facility was certainly an added bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We will be returning in the future!

We stayed at Best Western Plus Camperdown Suites while our son was hospitalised at RPA Hospital. The Bast Western was very convenient for us to visit and support our son during this time. The staff at Best Western where absolutely fantastic, understanding and flexible as our length of stay was in the hands of the Doctors at RPA. We can't thanks the staff and management enough for support and understanding during a very stressful period.

Best Western staff were amazing. We were there for medical reasons and nothing was too much for them. They treated us like extended family. They chatted, listened and laughed with us. Rooms were always keep to a high standard. Would highly recommend.

It is a very comfortable, nice and clean hotel, perfect location for visit in RPA hospital. Great connection also to the city centre, the bus stop is just front of the building. Very friendly, kind and helpful staff, welcoming, excellent service. Definitely a highly recommended stay in Sydney!

My husband was rushed to hospital whilst I was in Sydneya and this hotel went above and beyond to help me out with accomodation and extra care. All the staff were kind and friendly and helped make a difgucult time bearable

The beds and pillows at this hotel are exceptionally comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and very quiet. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. The hotel is close to Missenden Road and Broadway and off street parking is plentiful. There is a great cafe across the road where you receive a discount if you show your room card.

My sister and I chose to stay here because it was in walking distance of RPA Hospital, not really knowing what to expect, however we were very happy upon arrival. We were welcomed warmly by Vernice & she was so helpful with any questions we had. The 3 different rooms we stayed in, over the 3 separate times we were visiting our Mum in hospital, were all wonderful. Clean with very comfortable beds & enjoyable to stay. If we ever need to come to Sydney again, we won't hesitate to book our accommodation here. Thank you.

Clean and well-maintained with friendly staff, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Best Western Camperdown. Reception was incredibly attentive and ensured my check-in was as smooth as possible even though it was close to midnight when I arrived. Comfortable beds, perfect shower pressure, and a well stocked kitchenette made my stay a breeze. Thanks to the whole team for looking after me so well, I'll be back!

I was nicely surprised how insanely clean the room was, on arrival and each day returning. This included the great linen and how the bed and bathroom were kept. Very pleasant to return to and relaxing.

Awesome Accommodation. Excellent, friendly and warm service. The rooms were clean and well appointed. I had to extend my stay due to my partners surgery being postponed and the staff were excellent in accommodating me for my extra few nights. Would recommend for anyone who has family or friends in RPA as there is nothing nearby that even comes close to this!

Stayed here while visiting our daughter at the University of Sydney. Clean hotel with great employees. Staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Bus stop right outside the lobby door. Buses take you to all the tourist sites in downtown Sydney. No need for a car here. Very comfortable nights sleep. Will stay here again.

We stayed here due to its proximity to the RPA hospital across the road. Special thanks to Nason Ataii for going out of his way to be very helpful to me and my mother. He helped unpack our car, organise parking and open the afterhours access whenever we needed it. And always with a smile. He helped make a difficult time much more tolerable. Thanks again!

Owner was lovely! Gave us lots of tips, let us use the laundry services after we'd checked out. Room was exactly what we needed for the night. Not a great place parking wise though. Recommend we go to the cafe across the road, they have a 10% discount for guests of the suites! Amazing food!

We had an unexpected over night stay after our flight was cancelled. We booked in for a night as it was close to my Sons house and we were presently surprised, lovely staff, clean rooms and walking distance to Newtown and Glebe. We will be back for a longer stay next time !

The Staff (especially Venice) were exceptional for our unexpected stay in Sydney at Best Western Camperdown. After a delay from Brisbane to Sydney enroute to Honolulu - LAX, we were grounded for 2 days in Sydney. Arriving late at night and not being able to be re-booked for 2 days, we made the best of it and felt at home with the warmth and kindness shown to us by Venice. Location across from Deus Cafe meant that our breakfast each day was delicious with another find in the Crispy Chilli Oil on Avocado Toast and Uber Eats had dinner sorted. The rains were intermittent so we had a walk to Darling Harbour and today will get a manicure and pedicure before embarking on our journey to the US. Thank you. Thank you. You made our challenge easily bearable and fun!

Clean quiet room away from main road traffic, exactly what the manager said. In room; iron, fridge, microwave, kettle along with desk, balcony and ensuite. Area close to cafe and restaurants, great for a one night visit, and depart the next day

Staff were extremely helpful from the moment I arrived. Room & Ensuite were both smaller than I liked but this didn't distract from the enjoyment of my stay. Great central location with a bus stop right at the door.

Centrally located hotel with very helpful, friendly staff. My husband and I stayed here every Sunday and Monday for 3 months as my husband had medical appointments near RPA. Our room was always very clean and the decor had some nice touches. I would definitely recommend. It is an easy bus ride into the city too.

My husband and I stayed here for 12 nights while visiting family in Annandale. It was perfect for us and we will choose to stay here when visiting in the future. We had a deluxe room with kitchenette and balcony. Everything was new and clean. We appreciated the free laundry. The hotel is on a busy road on one side, but noise was never an issue. We liked the location and its proximity to public transport, parks, etc. We also liked that it was a family-run hotel and that all the staff we encountered went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Highly recommended.

We were in Sydney for work which was impacted by the weather and ran over time. The staff were extremely flexible In extending our stay at short notice. Great value for money and located in a great position for what we required.

The team at Camperdown Best Western were extremely accomodating and friendly. From late checkouts to extending our stay, nothing was an issue for them. The rooms have been renovated and made for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

I have stayed in this hotel numerous times and every time my experience has been wonderful. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room is quiet, extremely clean and has an incredibly comfortable bed. The location is fantastic, its only a short walk to a large variety of restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We were so impressed with the facilities and staff at Best Western that we booked for a second 2 night visit so we could easily visit our son in RPA. Everything in the room was spotlessly clean and the staff went out of their way to help us. We needed parking and they worked really hard to facilitate this for us. The location was so convenient for a short walk to RPA, Sydney University and bustling King Street. We highly recommend this lovely Best Western!

My experience at Best Western was very positive. The man on the desk was lovely and so accommodating. He reassured us that if we needed anything he would be more then willing to help us out in any way he could. He showed us around and said the room we were staying in was recently renovated and was one of the nicest rooms they had. He was not wrong. It was a beautiful room and had a little courtyard balcony that overlooked a water fountain. Bed was comfy, water pressure was good and everything was clean.
