Best Western Plus Skogshojd

A nice 5 day city break in our first visit to Sweden. Excellent hotel in a good location, easy transport links, bus, train, plane. Nice room, shower and toilet, used the pool and free breakfast a must, great time was had.

The hotel is in a very ugly area and looks awful from the outside but... The room was good. No a/c but had the electric fan blowing all night - but it was still hot. There are all the facilities - kettle, coffee/tea etc., fridge, good plugs and reading lights by the beds, glass wine glasses, hairdryer. The interior needs a complete revamp and the two lifts to get to the rooms is annoying, but for a budget hotel stopover it is okay. We came here with Rainbow Tours on the Baltic capitals tour so nothing fancy.

Weird place - Attention extra fees We really wanted to give them a Change, even with some negative Reviews, but Most of them are true. At first: yes It smells weird a Mix between carpetglue and If there was a fire burning before. The Check-in was not inspiring, on Expedia was No information about an extra Fee for the Pool, which was in the wellnesscenter, although there are informations about extra fees for animals. But we Had to pay extra for the Po18€ol - Person! A day! No discussion or Concession! IT May have been acceptable If the wellnesscenter would have been worked. But the mens Sauna - did Not Work, the steam sauna - did Not Work, the Water-Massage at the Pool - did Not Work. The room was Kind of ok, but the smell...and yes the heating did Not Work well. So the Bath was cold anyway, because there ist No heating at all. At the time we were there there have been Renovation works(?) so we haven been waked up by impact drilling machines. Ongoing Repair work on many Corners. The breakfast was an American Standard, but the scrambled eggs have been a soup. The Location of the Hotel ist weird too, in the middle of a residential area. A fun fact: on the Best Western webside faq is a Q. Does the Best Western Plus Skogshojd have a pool? No, we do not have a pool Well, weird... Overall dissapointing experience.

We spent two days in this hotel. During these two days, there was drilling work in the building with a huge noise, it did not stop during the day from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. It was so unbearable that we had to go down to the reception room to work. There were other customers who went down like us because of the noise. We notified the reception, but they did nothing. Old room with hard bed sheet & coverlet, small bathroom with mold. Thing's even worth when it started to rain at night, cuz the the window sills are metallic, the noise of hitting by rain just can't let you sleep. Will never come back again.

Rather tired hotel taken over by Best Western just a month ago. It is being refurbished and once completed will be lovely. The staff were amazing. We asked for a room over looking the car park and they went out of their way to help us. Very tasty breakfast. Only downside was the long walk to the parking area as no access to the back of the hotel.

Good location near the city center and affordable price clean and great breakfast. The premises used to be a Scandic and it still was a Scandic hotel when I stayed there. It's only a short walk from the train station and the main street. Quiet and pleasant surroundings. Only discrepancy is that there are no climate station and only a small fan is provided in the room so it can get quite warm and hot during the summer months. Otherwise a standard Scandic hotel that now appears to have become a Quality Hotel these days. Breakfast splendid apart from the pancakes and the cold coffee was empty when I went to have breakfast and wasn't refilled so it must have run out of it so make sure to get breakfast early in the morning it's a huge breakfast room so no risk of getting crowded. Otherwise nice and clean and up to Scandic hotel Standard. Would stay there again and can recommend.
