Je m’inscris I used points for this stay and I sure wish I wouldn't have. It was Saturday night and we checked in early (for us) and wanted to watch college football. The TV SUCKED.....Bright round white dots were on the TV and when I reported it to the front desk, Shudi (I hope I spelled that right) told me that many of the TV's that they had, had that problem and it had been reported. Well, if they know about the problem FIX IT. The floor (carpet) had a few things that needed swept up. Breakfast was a fail. They need to step up their game and keep things stocked.
Have to admit that this was our first stay at a Best Western Plus, and we were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is fairly new and conveniently located off several main thoroughfares. Check in was seamless and fast. The room was very comfortable, especially since this was a short, overnight stay to get back on the road early the next morning. We loved the refrigerator because it was oversized and actually had a tiny freezer where we could refreeze our cooler packs. There was a McDonald's and Wendy's as well as gas station within walking distance. The only down side was the towels: We were only allotted two full bath towels, they were super thin and appeared not to be cleaned very well. In reading other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing complaint at this hotel. We stayed at another Best Western Plus in Birmingham, Ala., and the towels were plentiful, clean and fluffy. Other than that, it was a decent night's stay.
Nice, clean hotel in a good location near a major road. Sits between McDonalds and Wendys. We checked in around 10 PM. It was quiet. The continental breakfast was the usual eggs, bacon, sausages. My friend used the hot tub. She said she was the only one in there the whole time. No one else in the pool either. But we did come in on a Wednesday night so that might be the reason it was quiet.
We stayed here after attending a concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. When you walk in, it smells so clean like bleach. Our room was bigger than expected and nicer than I thought it would be for such a great price. The bed was large and comfortable, the temperature of the room was nice and I never heard outside noise or noise from other guests. If I could have stayed a few more nights, I would have. Breakfast was amazing with biscuits and gravy and a Nescafe coffee machine that makes you anything you want from an espresso to a French vanilla cappuccino and was very good. Staff were very helpful and very nice. I wish we could have used the hot tub but we ran out of time. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
Staff was very friendly. Room only had 2 towels for 3 people. Went to get into bed and there was a huge dent in the mattress. Could not get comfortable at all. Not a good experience. When they charge so much for a room they can replace things when they get worn out.
Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Beds were nice and lobby was clean and cozy. I had not stayed at a BW for many years but this was the closest to the hospital where my son was scheduled the next day for surgery. It was a great stay and I'm going to try out BWnext time I travel for work.
First time in this state and this hotel was extremely convenient to everything you need. Quiet hotel even though you are near highways and a few minor things but overall a good experience here. Would stay again if ever visiting the area again!
Make sure you check your amenities before you stay. Make sure they are all working. We wanted an handicap assessable room. We got a room with a tub. I wanted my other half to go swimming. She is handicapped. The lift in the pool wasn't working. They said it hasn't worked for awhile. So we spent all this money to take a hand bath and have her watch the granddaughter swim. Couldn't swim with her.
Think twice! Fright of your life!Arrived late (11:30pm), but with a guaranteed cc reservation. Front desk employee acted doubtful that there was a room available. After she found one, she gave us the keys. Went up to the room, we entered in the dark, door closed behind us, turn on the light to find four adults in the beds, everyone is all shocked and shaken staring at each other!! (Always deadbolt!). Apologized to them, returned to desk, told her what happened, she took a while searching again for an available room. Finally came up with one but said she'd have to go clean it!! Are you kidding me!? Waited as she left to clean room… about 20 min later, gave us key. We were suspect about the 20 min cleaning job, slept with one eye open, not a restful night! Paid over $200 for this experience. Curious to see what Best Western corporate would have to say about this.
Easy access off freeway. Very friendly check-in staff and gave a great recommendation for a close place to have a meal. Only complaint I had was The mattresses could have been a little better.
Clean rooms but children were allowed to run up and down the hall which was right next to check in. Truckers were allowed to park rigs across several prime spots leaving other guests to use the backdoor at night.
I had a paid room through Priceline. I arrived at 2 a.m. and the front desk computer was down. The clerk was apologetic but could not identify which rooms were occupied or vacant, so I could not get my room! She actually woke up people in 2 rooms to see if they were occupied! After 40 minutes the computer resumed working and she found a room for me. (By the way, I asked her to call whoever could fix the computer and she said she would not because they were sleeping. I guess managers need their sleep more than customers.) Then there were literally NO parking places. Big semi cabs and tow trucks and other oversized vehicles occupied most parking stalls behind the motel, and the few stalls in front were occupied by cars. Finally I had to park in a handicap spot. Due to these delays, I did not walk into my room until 3 a.m., very tired after a long road trip. I lost almost a full hour at check-in due to their faulty computer (and trying to find parking). This is unforgiveable for a big chain motel. I walked into a stifling hot and humid room. The wall thermostat said it was 79 degrees. I turned the thermostat to 72 and the loud clanking compressor in the AC unit kicked on, but it cycled on and off constantly all night long, and it took until the next morning to get the room down to 72. (It was in the 50s outside, but so hot inside the room.) The mattress on the bed had deep indentations from too many bodies before me. There was a deep hollow in the mattress. This is unforgiveable. And the pillows were tiny postage stamp size and not very comfortable. This was a really bad experience: 1. No functioning front desk computer so no room (for 40 minutes). 2. No parking spaces except handicapped (another 20 minutes lost). 3. Very uncomfortable mattress, long past its expiration date. I definitely will not be back.
This is my first time staying at a Best Western facility and my experience was not at all pleasant. First I noticed that we only had 2 towels for a double bed room, then our toilet didn't work well, when using the towels that were already in the room we noticed they were stained as if they were not washed well I don't know if it was wine or blood but it was quite noticeable. To finish when I decided to sleep and rest, my bed had a dent that didn't allow me to get comfortable anywhere. The staff at the front desk are quite friendly, and this hotel has a policy of communicating what is not correct to improve it. I hope they find a solution to this bad experience during my 4 night stay.
Stayed for 2 nights with Volleyball Club team. Hotel very clean and all employees from check-in to evening desk person very nice & accommodating with having a large group. Hote has indoor pool but we did not use this. Room was clean and had housekeeping service while gone during the day and they did a very good job. We have stayed here before and would stay here again and recommend this place.
This BW property is an average motel, but I did not see anything "Plus" about it. Check-in was pleasant but not efficient, and they had not read the notes I added when making the reservations on the BW site. Our room had a bedroom with an additional small area for a couch, but it was reasonably cramped, as if they had just carved out the couch room from what would normally be the bedroom. The room was clean, quiet, and furnished well, but the lighting was very dim. The bedding and towels were of lower quality, and the towels were very rough and unpleasant to use. This property replaced most toiletries with dispensers in the shower, and I discovered too late that the soap dispenser was empty. Breakfast was typical of a US motel, with many high-sugar, high-carb offerings, but they did have fresh fruit and one unsweetened cereal. The coffee from a machine was undrinkable and appeared to be instant. I gave this BW three stars (average rating) as that's what it is. Not bad but nothing special, with a few areas for improvement.
Charged incorrectly for payment, ac not working had to switch rooms, powdered eggs were gross- no meat option- gravy watered down. Hallway had a smell. Hot Tub looked slightly green tinted. This was our 3rd stay at this specific location. Complete disappointment. Will not stay at this location again.
Cons: We stayed in this exact room last year and let them know that the TV had six bright spots in it at that time. Still had not been changed. TVs are not smart TVs and there are like 25 channels. Cannot sign into Netflix, etc. like other hotels. Some hair on the bottom of the shower curtain before we had used the shower. Husband got a shard of glass in his foot from the carpet. Predatory behavior from other guests at breakfast was not addressed. Pros: Great breakfast. Excellent value. Clean, comfy beds.
I feel like this was a fairly average hotel experience. On the positive side, everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is pet friendly and there was a lot of green space around the hotel for walking dogs. Also, the hotel was impeccably clean, and they did a good job of cleaning my room every day too. On the more negative side, the hotel is right near the interstate, so I was woken up multiple times a night by semis blaring their horns. In general, the hotel is a little dated and dark. One of the towels had old paint stains on it but was still being used instead of thrown out.
From the check in to check out, the employees were the most helpful and friendly that we have ever seen in a midrange hotel. And they stayed busy during down times by cleaning the lobby and front entrance. The only thing that could be improved upon is the lighting in the rooms, everything else was better than expected!
This hotel is located right off of I-35, but very little noise from traffic. Lots of restaurants nearby, and easy on-easy off of I-35 to travel elsewhere. Hotel is very clean, comfortable, and staff is very friendly. This was our 4th time to stay at this hotel. My Dr. is located in Overland Park, and it's very easy to get to from here. We didn't use the pool or eat at the breakfast but the pool was always occupied, and others said the breakfast was very good and had hot items on it.
The room was clean and neat, refrigerator in the room. The Shower is small but it's clean. Pool are looked nice, we didn't use it on the trip but will in future. The breakfast wasn't great but it could get better
Dirty dirty gym. There was trash all over the floor, used towels on the floor between equipment, no clean towels or water available at the gym. The sign said to wipe off equipment after use, no cleaning equipment or sanitary towels were available. The front desk agent literally sat on the couch in front of the TV the entire evening, barely getting up from the couch when there were guests waiting for a few mins. There were puddles of water from the pool to the front entrance that someone could have slipped on, it was over two hours beforr a guest asked it to be cleaned up.
Hotel what is the average for the price. The beds were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. They need to provide more than three towels. For a three night stay. No clock in room was a bit odd. The stay what is average, but fairly reasonable for the money. We would stay here again.
We had a very relaxing stay here. The room was clean & roomy. The bed gave us a very good night's rest! Everything was in good working order. The breakfast was the best we've had in awhile at a hotel. Dining area was kept clean (table & chairs) & food replenished when empty. We had a very nice stay & would stay again if in area.
Friendly service; greeted warmly like they new me. Surprisingly good breakfast for hotel. Room was fabulous and bed so comfy. Wendy's one one side and McDonalds on the other. Couple good restaurants right across street!
This was my second stay at Best Western and like the first one the accommodations were comfortable and clean enough for me as I am pretty fussy. My bed enveloped me in such deep comfort that I slept well through the night. The breakfast was the standard hotel fare, though there was ample offering of fruit. I look forward to staying here again next year.
Access was easy to find. The check-in was very efficient and friendly. And the check-out was also fast. The Hotel has an elevator which ran very quietly. Full breakfast menu -very well managed . Would definitely stay here again.
Visiting my daughter for the Thanksgiving holiday. She was cooking so things were crazy at her house. This hotel is only about a mile away so very easy to enjoy dinner with her and not have to worry about her over exerting herself with both cooking and cleaning.
This hotel is very convenient to the interstate. We were checked in promptly and our room was clean and the beds comfortable. Only problem was that the clock was incorrect and supposedly was reset while we were out, however the time was still off by 1/2 hour. Actually a minor detail since everything else was fine.
The staff was very friendly and the room was nice. It was very clean and I felt very comfortable staying here. Breakfast is available as well as an indoor pool. We had a coffee maker in our room also as well as a fridge. Very comfortable for travelers.
It was a good hotel but not one of the best. Our family did feel safe but it could use a little improving. The walls were very thin and it was next to a truckstop and the interstate. The rooms were awkward. The bathroom vanity was too large for the space and the closet was in the middle of the wall out in the room, causing the door to hit a bed when it was opened.
I was over charged on my credit card $825.26 and the hotel and corporate office refuse to call their merchant card services to correct the problem. Avoid this place unless you want to risk a similar experience
Exceptional room, comfortable, clean. Air conditioning working perfectly. Bathroom spacious and very clean. Everything in the room worked. Perfect hot tub. Fitness center perfect. Breakfast. Clean, safe and quiet place.
As always, Best Western was very welcoming and accommodating to whatever we needed. Being a Best Western Rewards Member has proven to be valuable when traveling on the road with my crew. We had to stay in several other hotels and our best experiences on the road has been with Best Western.
We settled in to this Best Western for the night on our road trip to Albuquerque. It was a nice quiet and comfortable hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the big city of Kansas City. We would stay there again.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. The free breakfasts were a welcome addition and everything was of good quality. The pool was clean and well maintained. The rooms included a microwave and fridge which I learned the next three days of our trip that overpriced hotels don't even include them. It was a wonderful stay!
The bkft is full service now. Great burrito's !! The grandkid's loved swimming in the pool, few tiles missing but this didn't stop them from having a wonderful swim. . ALL the Staff were very Friendly and helpful !! Kudo's to them !!
We were heading south so we wanted to miss traffic in Kansas City. We picked Olathe because it fit the bill. Nice hotel and clean. Breakfast left something to desire because there was no meat for breakfast and the eggs were runny. We had the waffles and that worked.
This hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel room had a mini fridge and a very nice shower. There were lots of available channels on the TV. The beds were very comfortable and soft.
We have stayed at this motel & booked the same room for years & was always satisfied with our stay. This past stay was unacceptable. When arriving I wasn't offered a bottle of water (premium member), once in room we noticed the bathroom trash had not been emptied, (sanitary pad and small Styrofoam food container and used kleenex in trash). Our TV was not programed for channels, service man was called when he arrived we found out from the him that the TV had been changed out of the room but it was never programmed. He was very kind and offered to put another TV in, but we had hospital appointments early the next morning and by the time he arrived my husband was already in bed so we said just forget it. When I went to bed I noticed one pillow had something on it, I thought maybe a stain until I took a tissue and wiped and it was like a dried pizza sauce or blood that was crusty and dry and it partially rubbed off with tissue. This tells me that the bedding was not changed or clean, especially when I then looked in the container in the trash and saw that it was a marinara or pizza sauce. The bedding was also unusually wrinkled and when my husband pulled the comforter down and he made the comment that he bed looked slept in. The noise in the hall and above our room was unbelievable. I notified front desk twice. Kids running down hall laughing and screaming and above us was jumping and hollering most of the night. Plumbing under sink leaked and water had dampened our towels, so we couldn't even shower before our appointment because by the time we noticed we would of been late for appointment waiting on dry towels. All of this on top of the price raise. In February I paid $114.32, In March we stayed twice each stay was $108.55, this time our stay was $195.15. This price is for the same room on each stay, almost double the price and the room was not clean, noisy, and the price hike was shocking. I called another highly rated motel located nearby in Overland Park and could of gotten a room there for a little over $103 for the night. If I would of been able to get my money back from Best Western we would of left. I'm shocked how far downhill Best Weestern in Olathe has gone downhill in just almost 3 months time. We've booked the same room for years and always had a pleasant, quiet, clean stay. I am really disappointed and sickened by the lack of cleanliness, and the noise until midnight was unbearable.
The staff person at check in was very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, especially the beds. The room felt recently updated. There was a nice area for walking the dog (obviously pet friendly with a small pet fee). They had an excellent breakfast, especially the breakfast taco, as well as the bacon and eggs and waffle. The hotel was fairly close to a variety of restaurants.
Booking mistake. Asked (never demanded) to make a change. GM Pam immediately became short with me, called me a jerk, said I was blackmailing her, and hung up on me. They refuse to make it right. I will never stay at another BW or Wyndham hotel ever again.
We originally booked through this hotel for 2 nights. After our booking, we had a death in the family which caused our trip to this hotel/destination to be delayed by a day. I contacted the hotel to adjust/modify my reservation from 2 nights to 1 before the deadline reflected in my confirmation email. They advised the deadline had passed (apparently a new deadline had been established when the block of rooms was set by the group we were traveling with) and would not work with me to modify my reservation. They advised if I did not show on the original intended arrival date that they would cancel my entire reservation, though I still needed the second night. I explained our family emergency/death in the family and they only said, “I'm sorry for your loss, but this is what was agreed to when the block of rooms was booked”. My family incurred an additional $1500 in travel expenses due to the unexpected death in the family; this hotel was not at all accommodating to the fact we had an emergency and needed to make a change. Finally, after 6 separate phone calls I was able to get them to agree not to cancel my 2nd night - however they still made us pay for both nights, though we only stayed 1. I called on the Wednesday before the Friday check-in; my confirmation email indicated I had until 4 PM Friday to modify. This was not the case. Not impressed with customer service whatsoever. Additionally, the refrigerator in our room did not get cold; food we had for the next day spoiled.
Came up for an Easter holiday to celebrate and the staff was very nice to my family that was visiting. The rooms were so large the bed was very comfy and the breakfast was yummy 10 out of 10 would stay again
Excellent in every way good staff excellent breakfast, clean rooms everything that I expected was supplied. would stay again if I needed a stay in the area. Safe quiet area not too far from interstate.
Being generous w my 3 star rating. Walked in at 2:10pm to a front desk clerk that greeted me with, "do you know you're extremely early?!" I guess 50 min early to check in was cause for her to be extremely rude! We left and returned at 8pm to a much nicer attendant. Entrance floor was filthy w crumbs and dirt. Room was just so so. Tired decor, carpet, and bathroom tile. Hallway carpets stained and the elevator was only clean when we left for the day at 6am. Every other time we stepped in there was visible dirt. Most noticeable to me, there was just never enough staff. When I asked for more towels to be delivered to my room (no daily housekeeping), I had to go retrieve due to front desk gal being the only worker in the hotel. Highway access is easy and restaurant are close by, if needed. I'll likely not return to this hotel.
Pool was perfect. Hot tub perfect temp. Very clean newly remodeled. Food was great! Very comfortable. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The staff was very accommodating and very welcoming.
Good ,Clean room.Great hot breakfast in the morning, pool was open ,but we didnt use. Close to I-35 and restaurants nearby, gas nearby, Easy to get downtown form location. Staff was friendly. parking lot is well lit.
I liked the location of this hotel....easy on and off I-35. This was the first time we have tried this hotel and overall we liked it. We might return. The front desk check=in was not a particularly friendly experience but rather gruff and grumpy. The morning check-out was much better. The room was generally clean, but I could see hand/fingerprints on the TV screen and there were lots of things of questionable origins spotting the door in the bathroom. My other frustration was we had a K-size bed which was so close to the wall that I could not walk out forward but had to turn sideways to get out past the heater, being careful not to hook my foot in the chord loop from the heater plug-in. Why do this? The living room area in the suite had plenty of room....so what is 5 more inches to allot for the bedroom? What I liked was the availability of a suite and ease of the location.
My roomate and I came and enjoyed the hot tub and great relaxation away from the house and the staff was welcoming and friendly. Ill definitely come back. Clean and refreshing. quiet and relaxing. I will come back !
Staff, room, amenities and breakfast were all first rate. Great place to stay when in Olathe! We encountered no problems. The front desk even suggested a restaurant for dinner that gave a discount when showing your room key. Outstanding.
Great place to stay for a short trip. Very clean and everything was in working order with very comfortable beds. Breakfast had all the expected items, and it's next to two fast food restaurants for other fast options.
The hotel was very nice and clean! Nice decor! Our room exceeded our espectations! We had two televisions and a sitting room which was separate from our king bed. Breakfast was very good with a variety of foods. I would definately recommend staying at this hotel.
Very clean, very large rooms. The staff was really nice and helpful. Breakfast was good and they let me check in early. The location looked a little iffy but it's right by the police station so probably safe. The Taco Bell nearby was open until 2am so that was nice.
This hotel is one of the best in Olathe KS. Service and customer care was top notch. I've stayed at this hotel before and always get the best in customer service. During these times we are in, if you treat workers with respect you will get more than respect back!
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and very spacious. The hotel was also quiet as we didn't hear those around us like other hotels I have stayed in. Breakfast was good and had a nice selection with make your own waffles.
Overall a decent hotel to stay in. Location was convenient, felt safe in the area traveling alone with teenage daughter. Fast food options close by. Room itself looked good, bed was comfortable, shower had wonderful pressure, and building was quiet during the night despite the parking lot being full. Staff was friendly. We are in the area quite a few times a year and I'll probably stay here again.
We had come to town to visit the local winery for an event. We were able to check in an hour early which was nice. We had a few issues with our room, bit the staff did the best they could to resolve it. Our toilet was draining slow and come to find out it was clogged. The staff was able to come up immediately and fix the problem. Later that evening, our air conditioner started making a loud noise and when staff came up to check, they knew what was wrong immediately and while they could not move us due to being fully booked, they provided us with two of their personal fans and compensated part of our stay. I loved the pool and hot tub. It was so nice being able to have a hot breakfast after most hotels have been grab and go. Overall this was a great stay and I would definitely stay again.
Decent room, clean property. Lots of closed down restaurants nearby, but there are plenty within a very short drive. Well worth the money to stay here. Close to highway. Nice staff Room was clean, bed comfortable, good air conditioning
I had to be in Kc for a quick day for errands. Chose this hotel, but upon going to the room, I second guessed my decision. There was a musty/moldy smell to the third floor area. Same drabby smell in the room. The room was sorta small for a king suite, but it was fine. The shower didn't have a lot of water pressure to it. Overall my stay was okay, but I probably won't stay there ever again.
5 nights in Best Western because my truck had to go in the shop. I always stay i a BW whenever I have to shut down Olathe,Ks BW is like home away from home.there is plenty of restaurants on the area that you can walk to, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast is the best, I stay sometimes just for the breakfast.
The Best Western was clean and up dated. I would have given 5 stars if the pool and hot tub water hadn't been green. We did not eat breakfast but I know it is due to Covid but you had to get your food and take it back to your room. It's hard to eat food without a table and chairs. There were 3 of us and only 1 chair.
Would not recommend, rooms were not clean and reception walk way floor dirty hot breakfast was cereal and paper bag with one small muffin and bottle water hot coffee outside was cold, request two beds but got a pull out couch and one bed.
Stop searching, reading and comparing. This is it. I recently had a room helping a co-worker. Pam and the rest of the staff were exceptional. From making the reservation to the final bill, they made sure I was taken care of. Working in the hospitality industry, I've seen some questionable ethics from workers and guests. Pam has renewed some of my faith. I would recommend to anyone that they stay a night or two.
Hot breakfast variety would be appreciated - two selections would be appreciated. The fitness center need maintenance. Two of the machines were in-op. The staff was very friendly, attentive and professional.
Autumn and Clifford at front desk were very courteous. Autumn offered us connecting rooms in quiet area, and Clifford gave youngsters cartoon character stickers. The pool is very accommodating for young family.
Excellent customer service, very friendly staff. We are treated like family here. Best Western Plus of Olathe is our motel choice every single time. Very clean, quiet, and affordable rooms. We leave rested and refreshed after every stay. We visit the Kansas City area several times per year and have always felt that this is a safe place to stay. The staff is so friendly, I always feel like we are staying with family. I can't say enough about this motel and the staff. Five stars across the board!!!!!
Truck stop noise, paper thin walls noise, vendor restocked machines at 4am noise, stitch from bathroom drains, fitness equipment poor condition, lighting in bathroom horrible for makeup/hair styling. A nightmare with little to no sleep 3 days.
Check in was quick and efficient. Staff member was professional and very personable. Went to our room and found it to be clean and smelled fresh too. We were late arrivals so we didn't watch tv. Internet was sufficient. Now, about the noise. We had stayed at the airport the night before and we didn't notice any noise at all at that location. This location was totally different, so loud. Trucks all night long. Maybe if we would have been on the other end of the hotel it might have made a difference but I am not sure. I did have to call down to the first desk and state that I could smell cigarette smoke (we have never smoked) and I didn't want to be charged a fee.
We stayed one night here. Our first time. We've stayed in several over the years. It was clean, but looks a bit worn. They put a sticker on the door jam/door to indicate it's been cleaned, but I didn't see anything special on the cleaning cart that denoted special cleaning. The bed was comfortable. StAff was very nice. Breakfast is a paper sack with an apple and muffin. You can get a styrofoam bowl with 1 biscuit, some gravy on top and 1 or 2 sausage patties. With that in hand, silverware, a cup of coffee and a cup of oj, it was difficult to navigate the elevator and door. A tray would be very nice. There is no place to eat downstairs.
Drove from NC to visit family for Christmas. Covid protocols were and still are top notch. Rooms are clean, comfortable and affordable. Staff is the best that I've seen in a very long time. Baya, hope the spelling is correct, went above and well beyond to assist us. Without a doubt, BWP Othaley is my resting spot when in town.
Best Western Plus Olathe Hotel, has the most experienced employees I have come across. They truly are able to make me feel like I am coming home each time I arrive. My experience in sleeping was beyond any expectations I might have had.
Called the hotel and a "Garron" answered the phone. I told him I had to cancel my reservation due to COVID. His response was an abrupt "I can't." When I asked for an explanation his response was "when I press the button nothing happens." I asked to speak to his manager he said "she's off today, I'm in charge." I then asked if the hotel was full for today which he responded with a "nope" with a laugh. When asked when the manager would be back he said "Monday" and whoever is working is in charge at that time. I then asked what the manager's name was and he yelled "Pamela!" It's understandable if there's no wiggle room on a policy, even if due to COVID. But the attitude and lack of respect from this employee was horrible and something I can't remember experiencing before. This will definitely be the last time I stay at a Best Western.
The front desk staff along with the cleaning crew were all very friendly, the room was spotless (I did the bottom of the sock check), TV didn't have a lot of channels but I made due with what I was given. The bathroom was clean and they provided a shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispenser in the shower which was cool but I used my own stuff.
I called this hotel three times before I booked to check on their pool. I wanted to make sure it is open since our last vacation was cancelled. Each time I called I was assured that the pool area was open and that they had the biggest pool in the area. I was also told on the phone that they were serving a continental breakfast. When we arrived my kids headed straight for the pool. There was a sign on the door saying only 4 people were allowed in the pool area at one time. There was no sign up sheet so it was hit or miss as to if someone would be in the pool area. The hot tub area was closed, I am not sure if this was due to COVID-19 or that the hot tub was just broken. ALL of this information should have been given when I called. The next morning the kids went down for the burrito they said was the continental breakfast. When we got to the breakfast area we were knocking on the door and finally someone came around the corner and asked if they could help us, and we stated we wanted the burrito. The employee said they did not have enough staff and they could not make it. The only thing they had for breakfast was a grab and go, which was a very small muffin, fruit, some nut bar (allergies), and a water. I was not impressed with this hotel. I understand there are a lot of changes right now. We are all rolling with the punches. When you call 3 times you expect to get accurate information.
This was the nicest Best Western property we've ever stayed at. Very comfortable room, clean, and friendly service. Beds were very comfy. Air conditioning worked great! Bathroom was very clean. Swimming pool was enjoyable. Staff were friendly. Hotel decor was nice and modern. Two thumbs up for this one!
This hotel is located in the noisiest possible location and every room is noisy, some worse than others. The east end of the hotel is adjacent to I-35, a very busy freeway with many trucks. The south side of the hotel is adjacent to an exit ramp from I-35 with constant traffic. The hotel sits between a McDonald's and a Wendy's with constant traffic. Nearby is a large truck stop so trucks go back and forth along the front of the hotel. Worst possible location for a relaxing stay.
Traveling during the coronavirus pandemic is stressful and we were nervous about staying anywhere on our trip from Chicago to Phoenix. The Best Western Plus in Olathe, Kansas was a super choice. It's easy on and off Interstate 35. The staff was all so nice and welcoming. Everything felt extremely clean. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets crisp. They felt brand new. The towels seemed new also. There was a bagged carry out breakfast waiting for us in the morning with a bottle of water, muffin, granola bar, and fruit. You can also have coffee or tea and yogurt. As we were packing the car, the housekeeper angel came out to our car with an important briefcase that we had forgotten. She was already cleaning our room! If you are leery about traveling, this is an excellent place to stay during these difficult times. I can only imagine how great it is during normal times!
We like to go on short trips to just get away from the hustle and bustle. Have had great experiences at BW so we always choose them. Never disappointed. Clean, staff great. Most accept pets at a reasonable cost.
We have stayed at this motel before and usually it is a good experience, however the last couple of times we have stayed here the water is too cold and we can't take a shower. Other then that the motel room was clean and it was quiet. But they need to fix the hot water, so you can take a shower!
Love this BW. Great price (we have AAA), great room & great breakfast. Staff very helpful. Room had a sitting room, 2 TV's plus lovely bath. Staff helped make a room reservation for another city. Highly recommend
We found this hotel and decided to stay because the price. We were very happy with this decision. It was well worth it! The room was a nice size. I brought my two children and they had enough room to not get on each other's nerve. The breakfast was great. The setup was nice and it was delicious. We got a chance to sit in the hot tub and pool...very relaxing. The location was great because we were close to Target, Wal-Mart if we needed to grab something and quite a few food places. Great hotel option if you need to stay in Olathe!
The room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Indoor pool and fitness room were available but we arrived too late to use either and had to leave early for funeral. Breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast. It was very convenient to both I35 and Hwy 169.
Room was super clean and spacious. Great water pressure in shower and very hot. Beds very comfortable. Only problem we had was noise level on the room. We could hear the TV and very clear conversations of the guest in adjoining rooms. After turning on the AC to help drown the talking, I still had to put in earplugs to finally fall asleep. Walls are too thin or poorly insulated. Nice breakfast selection and waffle toppings were excellent if you like eating funnel cakes for breakfast.
Always like BW, stay with them when I can if there's parking available for a big truck.Room was somewhat clean, empty potato chip bag between headboard and mattress. Not sure how that would be missed by housekeeping when they put the fitted sheet on, TV was starting to go as the back light bulbs were coming through on the screen. Reported this to maintenance who came and took a look and said it would be replaced. Maybe it was, but not during my stay. Something I thought odd was at the breakfast buffet, and a good buffet I might add but there was a sign in the corner that said " tips greatly appreciated for better service " Huh? Better Service? I have to make sure I have cash in my pocket to come for breakfast? Not something I would expect from BW. As the title says, it's alright, nothing special.
I never slept so comfortable in the motel/hotel until I slept here. Great location. Breakfast is no where I can compare than this. I was surprise it wasn't your usual continental breakfast. Full scale breakfast. Staff friendly and very helpful. Making sure your stay is comfortable.
We have stayed there during the holidays for the past 10 yrs. since its grand opening. Quality and hospitality has been consistent to be worthy of a "10" for a rating. All staff is very pleasant and maintain a high level of professionalism
After staying at another hotel in Olathe KS and having a horrible stay, I decided to change hotels and go to the Best Western. It was AMAZING. Comfortable, extremely clean, accommodating and kind staff, plenty of amenities, a wonderful and warm breakfast, great location... above and beyond! I will definitely be staying at Best Western hotels again. Simply wonderful.
As we arrived at Olathe it was getting dark and we were ready to settle in. A perky little young lady made great suggestions that were close to the hotel for dinner options. She was extremely friendly and yet very professional. We are so thankful for her great service. Room was very clean and quiet. Thank you!!!
I honestly couldn't ask for a more friendly, clean, and reasonably priced motel. Each time we stay here we are treated like family. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure that their guests are comfortable and happy with their stay. We travel to this area frequently for appointments at near by hospital, and each time we stay here we have a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast bar has a really good selection and everything is fresh and very clean. Our room is always clean and comfortable. This is a very nice, clean, and quiet hotel. And the employees are so nice, we enjoy visiting with each of them. We wouldn't even consider staying at another hotel.
Among best Western Hotel this one is a gem. . From the staff to the cleanliness in rooms and the breakfast everything was exceptional. Will stay here again as we travel to our winter home. Highly recommend this particular hotel.
We were in town for a wedding and had two rooms. Everything was excellent except for walking into our room to find it already occupied. How do you blow that? Do the computers work? Anyway, after that initial mixup , all was well in Olathe South. For all the activities, the hotel was perfect. Easy access to food and the interstate. Service impeccable, rooms very clean and bed was superb! Slept like a baby.
This hotel has recently been updated and was very nice. Easy access to and from the interstate. My room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. The plus about this Best Western, they take dogs. I would recommend it!
I stayed at BW location at Olathe KS on Sep 25. The front desk have refused to print me a receipt for my stay. without the receipt I will get in trouble with the corporate rules. I'm not sure if this is a complaint for the pest issue of ants crawling in room 105 or the panicking front desk agent who doesn't want to print me a receipt. . I stay in many hotels and this is the first encounter with a “private” no receipt policy that the hotel gave me! and after 20 mins of GM escalation the issue, the front desk told me that I was being done a favor, and for only one time she will push a one button click to print the receipt. I was late for work, and the pest issue in room 105 is a valid complaint. Also their website is down bestwesternolathe.com
The Best Western Plus in Olathe was very clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable and well made. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and fully stocked in an extremely clean room. We would gladly stay here again anytime!
Another wonderful stay at a wonderful hotel. We appreciated the extra effort and superb service Ken gave us on the last day of our stay. Ken was and always is so very efficient in making sure we were well taken care of each time we visit. If I could award 5 out of 5 stars it still wouldn't be enough. I'd rate him 10 stars. Thanks Ken!!!
It was very nice and clean .Large spacious rooms with a sitting area , which was great to visit with other family members staying there too. We have stayed here many times . . Never had a problem. Good breakfast !
Very nice stay in Olathe at the Best Western Plus. Very quick check in and clerk was nice room was nice bed very comfy bathroom was clean as was the room. The caveat is that although the room appeared clean when you find coffee grinds in the trash can in the bathroom and an empty beer can in the trash can by the counter holding the microwave and coffee maker it makes you wonder exactly how clean it really is. Also they use the refillable soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower which I like however although the conditioner was full the shampoo and soap were almost empty. Now these are minor things and I didnt complain to management about them as we were tired after a long day but I just want people to know if that kind of thing is a problem for them. Last thing the breakfast buffet was excellent great waffle makers and great selection of food and drink. So overall a five.
We stayed at this hotel yesterday when our air conditioner went out during one of the hottest days of the year. On top of that my husband became very ill and could not be anywhere with no air conditioner. The hotels I was looking at wanted over $300 a night because of the last minute. Based on the TripAdvisor reviews I chose this hotel because of Value and good reviews. After I booked the hotel I called the hotel that morning and explained I had no air conditioning and my husband was very ill. I offered to pay extra to check in early. I was waiting on the usual negative response but instead the gentleman on the morning staff advised my husband could check in anytime and was very accommodating and pleasant. My husband was very thankful! The hotel and room was very clean and the staff was great! It is nice to know this hotel is close by if we ever have a problem again. Thank yo again for the great service and accommodating my family for the night!
The room was extremely clean as was the breakfast area. The breakfast included a wonderful choice of foods that were fresh and attractively displayed. The pool area was neat and clean. When we checked in the lady was very friendly and accomadating.
Second time here; our place to stay when visiting the kids. Clean room and everything works. Typical hotel breakfast and the WiFi becomes worthless at night when everyone wants to play. Price and location both work very well for us.
The internet has been non-functional here for days. They use Google Fiber, but no one has a clue about the internal workings and apparently the manager is gone. But yes I have spoken to have said this has been at least two days now. I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you want internet. For business traveler it's important, and I doubt I would ever stay here again. If I could move to another property I would, but I don't think my wife would have it. This really really makes me frustrated.
Smallest place we stayed while on a recent road trip, but it was still fine. The room was nice with a second television in a semi-separate sitting area. Free breakfast had everything one could reasonably expect, plus a helpful staff, Convenient location just off the freeway. One minor complaint was the stopper on the tub didn't work, which I readily addressed with a strategically placed wash cloth (and shame on me for overlooking reporting the issue to the front desk).
If you are going to be participating in the free breakfast please pick another hotel. This was the WORST breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. The first biscuit I picked up was still frozen in the middle. Now I use frozen biscuits at home to, but I cook them first. The sausage patties were so overcooked that they could have been used in the Stanley Cup. Everyone knows that usually the scrambled eggs are made from a powder so I expected them to be bland, but nothing a little salt, pepper and hot sauce can't fix but these eggs were competing against Michael Phelps in the 200 M freestyle. Please follow the instructions on how much water to put in the powder to bring these guys to life! Thank goodness for the waffles and cereal or we might have just withered away from starvation.
The best Western was extremely nice compared to Double tree we had stayed at earlier this year in January. The staff was much nicer even. The appearance was nicer. Staff was always welcoming to both the children and the parents. I felt very comfortable on my stay
Rooms are large, clean and beds are great! Large breakfast area and good food selection. I do recommend a room away from the freeway side although noise was minimal. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Best Western Plus hotels are rapidly becoming my hotel of choice!
When traveling to KU Med Center we ALWAYS stay at this hotel. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean and smell nice. The dining area is kept clean and the staff is quick to clean up tables and wipe down counters. The food is fresh and delicious. Nice, clean, quiet atmosphere to relax. We sleep comfortably and truly enjoy our stay EVERY TIME.
This is an outstanding hotel. We have stayed here numerous times over several years. I'm very picky about the cleanliness of hotels. This one is immaculate. The extra T.V. and seating area in all rooms is a definite plus. The staff is friendly and the breakfast offers a wonderful selection of items. For more detail about the rooms see my previous reviews. The standards are always high here so all my previous review descriptions still apply today. Don't even hesitate to stay here. You won't find a better hotel for miles.
the only problem that i had was the loudness of the air conditioner fan. i was treated very good, i always ask for a first floor room as i am slightly handicaped and that was given to me,. all my points have been saved so i am happy and will stay at bw again.
We were very impressed with the large room but the bathroom area was super small. With a lot of wasted space in the entry of the room, this could have been utilized to make the bathroom bigger! The beds were fine and the air-conditioner worked good. Housekeeping woke us up at 8 AM to clean our room after we checked in after 11 PM the night before on a two night stay! There was no reason for her to wake us up! I talked to the front desk and the man said he would have a talk with her and that should not have happened. The next morning she was knocking on the door beside ours saying room service at 7:30am! Wow! The housekeeper did not replace the lotion or face soap or make up remover towelettes when she did clean our room that afternoon. We had some noise coming from the room above us. It sounded like kids were playing with a bouncing ball. I do you have to say the breakfast was very good with a lot of hot options. There were also blueberries and strawberries to top your waffles with. The breakfast attendants were very good at having everything stocked and clean. We stayed at this hotel on memorial weekend and the price was $50 more per night than it is normally. Not worth the extra money. We would stay here again if needed.
The rooms here are nicely updated, and feel larger than at the average hotel. The lobby is pretty small, but updated. The breakfast room can be rented out for large groups during the day. This was a great way for our sports team to eat a meal together. However, the front desk staff in the evenings were not easy to work with. We tried to rent out the breakfast room for the evening, so that our group could minimize noise, and we were told that it was not possible after 9:00. So instead the adults played cards in the tiny lobby, and received frequent dirty looks and commentary from the front desk about noise. We offered the options of relocating to a guest room (a greater noise issue) vs the breakfast room but were told no. I presume this was because they didn't want to clean up afterwards? It seems like a lot of public space is underutilized for guests. Added to this was the fact that only 3 bath towels were provided each day for our four person occupancy. This got annoying by morning two. This could be an amazing hotel with a few small changes to enhance guest experience. With multiple hotels within a few minutes, our team will go elsewhere next time.
This is not one of the cheaper hotels in the area but it should be. Dirty, loud, smells, old, broken and stained furniture.... we even had ants. On the toothbrush to boot. Needed a hotel in the area, but will drive farther next time. In my opinion this could be a much nicer hotel. They didn't even try. Toothpaste platters on doors, dirty floors and broken lamps. Stained couches, smelly drains and too much pine sol. Bed was comfortable, so that was positive. These are easy fixes Best Western.
This hotel was very convenient as we traveled through the area. Clean, comfortable, and staff was friendly. The breakfast attendant and front desk clerk went out of their way to greet our kids, breakfast was great, room was clean, pool was warm. Would recommend!
On our arrival we walked in and was very impressed with the way the hotel looked. We were greated as we went to check in. Check in was quick and easy, compared to other experiences, she was very kind knew her job well. When we got to the room, it was very clean and everything we needed was in order. It had been the best experience at a hotel we had ever had. The next morning we were given breakfast, a hot breakfast, with many options. The lady there made sure that you were taken care of, and she kept things stocked and very clean, she was also very kind, service with a smile.
The hotel was very well staffed with very knowledgeable front desk staff. The hotel was very clean and the lobby area was very nice. We will be staying here frequently sine we have family that has moved nearby.
Every Thing Was Good, EXCEPT We Ran Out Of HOT Water In The am.. Staff Said Too Many People Taking Showers At The Same Time. We Didn't Have That Problem In The Best Western In Danvers Mass. The Workout Room Was Very Small, Just Adequate. Pool Was Too Small, Ok For Kids And Small Families. A "Play Time Pool", Not A "Swimming" Pool... Hot Tub ok. Rooms Good, Reasonably Clean.. No towel Bars In Bathroom To Hang Wet Towels.. The Vanity Sink Was" Art Deco" .. Pretty, But Not What Should Be In A Hotel Room.. (Takes Away From Usable Space On The Vanity) Water Splashes Over The Sides And Back... The Painting Hanging Behind The Toilet was An Abstract Of A "Loaded Flushing Toilet " Not An Appealing Scene To Look At.... As For The Food: A Great Breakfast Variety...If You Leave Hungry It's Your Own Fault.... There Are Plenty Of Restaurants Of All Kinds And Tastes, Near By Within A Short Walk Or A Short Drive Of 3 To 5 Miles... The Most Disappointing Part: Staff Apparently Allowed Public Drinking (3 Men And A 12 Pack) And Smoking Out In Front Of Main Entrance.. :-( Even Some Of The Staff Smoked Out Front... That Was The Only Negative I Found.. In Spite Of That I Would Still Stay There Again......
My family usually likes Best Western Plus, but we felt a bit letdown by this location. - The staff wasn't particularly friendly - While our room was mostly clean, things like the nightstand and the microwave area were extremely dusty - The shampoo/soap/conditioner are in dispensers in the shower and while I appreciate the eco-friendliness of not having little bottles, not much comes out at a time. The shampoo also didn't really wash our hair very well. - The fitness center needs a refresh. The treadmill was out of order for the duration of our visit (5 days) and most of the buttons on the elliptical and exercise bike didn't work - The hot tub was really difficult to get in and out of - seemed really dangerous The good stuff: - Location was convenient - Bed and pillows were comfortable and clean - Breakfast had a few items that were better than your average hotel breakfast: breakfast burritos, sauces for the waffles, cheese and salsa for your eggs, and flavored water.
Great hotel stay - rooms were very clean and the staff did a wonderful job! Large youth soccer team in the breakfast area and we felt the manager did a great job asking them to be a little more quiet as to respect other guests that might still be sleeping in.
First - This hotel does not provide hand soap for their guests. It seemed like an oversight at first, but upon requesting a bar of soap from the front desk I was told they don't provide hand soap, guests should use body wash from the shower. So think about how clean the rest of the place is when one of the guests can properly wash their hands. Second - Walls are so thin here you can literally hear the person breathing on the other side of the wall. Third - their breakfast is served from not foodservice containers, eggs were made in huge batches, which isn't a problem, but the eggs were them held in the back in plastic bags. That is t safe and is absolutely a health code violation. A value hotel can certainly get 5 stars from me, but this specific value hotel doesn't even come close, and I would avoid this hotel at all costs. We will never be back.
The hotel was quiet clean and very comfortable. The only problem we had was the hot tub. Its steps are too deep and so is the tub for a short person. When I got out of the tub the floor needs some strips as it is very slippery when wet and I went down. The breakfast was very good and so was the assistant that was working that morning I would stop again if in the area
My family stayed here for a soccer tournament in Overland Park. It was quiet, clean, and only a few miles from the complex. It is right off of I 35, so it was easy to find. The rooms were large and the breakfast area was stocked and clean. There are food options right near the hotel, or several other options a few miles north on I 35 in Overland Park. I would stay here again.
We enjoyed this friendly stay. The rooms were clean and water was hot when we all took showers. Hot tub was amazing and pool was nice temp. Breakfast was nice selection and someone there the entire time cleaning and restocking food. We stayed with kids and were there for two nights and would deffinately go back.
Great rooms, amenities and service. Breakfast was excellent: fluffy, freshly scrambled eggs, tasty sausage and crispy, make-yourself waffles, along with a variety of juices, coffees, cereals and yogurt. Friendly and helpful staff. BE Rewards Points add up quickly and we got a free night for staying two separate nights. Highly recommended!
Just started staying at Best Westerns and will continue! We stayed 7 out of 9 nights on our last holiday......Staff very pleasant and knowledgeable .... Breakfast was perfect, lots of variety ... Rooms were very clean and comfortable!!
Great value and the room is very spacious. Staff was very friendly and helpful too. Loved the pool and hot tub to relax after busy days! This is a best place to stay in Olathe. Would definitely recommend
About 15 years ago my wife and I got to the point in our lives when we could do a little traveling each year, but we had some health issues that made it difficult to find beds that allowed us to get a good night sleep without a lot of back pain. We found that Best Western hotels had some of the better beds and so we chose to stay exclusively with them. Over the years we have found that, as in most things in life, some are better than others. Of all we have stayed at there are three that stand out, one is the hotel located on the south side of Saint George, Utah, the second is the Speedway in in Kansas City, Kansas, and the third and best is the Best Western in Olathe, Kansas. We found this motel on our first trip back to visit our son years ago and have never found one we liked as much. When my son moved farther north in Kansas we started staying at the Speedway Inn as it was closer to his home, but this trip we decided to eat the extra miles we would drive each day to visit with them and stay at our old favorite. We were not disappointed, just as it had been when we stayed here before, this motel is excellent and I would recommend it to everyone.
My three kids (8, 6, 3) stayed on a quiet Friday night. We reserved a king room with sofa bed. It exceeded our expectations. The room was enormous, the sofa bed area was divided off from the bedroom and had its own big screen. It included a bigger than average fridge and a microwave. The bathtub was small but nice, with nice fixtures, a cloth shower curtain and dispensers for body and hair. Shower head changed pressure based on your needs and shower rod was curved to keep it feeling big. Room had laminate on one side and carpet in the other. Linens were perfect for sleeping in 69 degrees and the bed was firm but not hard. There was a desk with chair and an armchair in the room as well. The pool was 5ft deep, had two staircases in and a hot tub within that overlooked the pool. The pool was cool but not cold, the hot tub was hot, and a waterfall feature made for some fun “pool showers” with the kids. It was perfect for our family. Free breakfast was great. Waffle station with toppings, oatmeal with toppings, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and sausage hot and ready. Lots of muffins, bagels, and English muffins as well as hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and cereal. Coffee machine that produced hot and iced as well as milk and four types of juices. Check in was easy. I needed some extra linens and they threw in an extra pillow without being asked. WiFi was a little spotty at times but we reset devices and figured it out. My family wants an included hot breakfast, pool and hot tub, and room to spread out. This hotel exceeded our expectations and we would come back any time.
The hotel staff is amazing! They go above and beyond to ensure that your stay at this hotel is a great experience The hotel was super clean, comfortable, and provided amenities that expensive hotels don't offer. It was also in a great location. We will definitely use Best Western in the future.
Excellent hotel and staff. Employees were always willing and ready to assist in any way needed. Hotel itself was very comfy and we felt right at home. Breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of items some of which changed daily. We will definitely use this site again. Great handicap facilities.
Very Nice Hotel for the Price! The rooms were clean and updated. The family suffers from allergies so we have no complaints. No musty old motel smell. The breakfast was good. Just an all around great place to stay!
We had a great stay as usual. Ken, the front desk person, greeted us by name and actually met us with our room keys already in hand. I had called only moments before getting off the highway to ask if our room was ready since it was still early in the day. Ken took our phone reservation greeted us upon check in and waved a warm good-bye as we left. Express checkout was a breeze and much appreciated. We love the extra benefits they award to Platinum members. We visit this hotel often since we visit family Olathe. I rate this hotel an A+++++++ and if the staff is to be rated, Ken especially deserves the same.
Everything about this place was a pleasant surprise: the bed was great, the furnishings were modern clean and nice, the rooms were well dessigned and everything yu'd wantfor a nice restful overnight was at your fingertips. We are usually Marriott (Fairfield, Residence) people. But this was excellent and the 54 Bar and Grill down the street was super too (much better that your garden variety Chili's) Stay here if if you have the opportunity - its a please surprise!.
The check in made by Mr Davis was impressive. The Best Western was should to take you, to do front desk training. Exceptional room, comfortable, clean. Air conditioning working perfectly. Bathroom spacious and very clean. Everything in the room worked. Perfect hot tub. Fitness center perfect. Breakfast. Clean, safe and quiet place. Will stay again. Thank you Mr davis
We stayed here for the first time while visiting family in the area. It was very close to their home and many restaurants and shopping in the area. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly.
Our stay was relaxing and quiet. Room very clean and comfortable, beds/pillows comfy. Staff very friendly and polite. Exterior of motel kept very nice and parking lot well lit at night. Breakfast fresh and wide variety of foods. Very clean dining and food area. We felt safe here. I highly recommend staying here, priced reasonable too !!!!!
This hotel was very nice. Clean and quiet. The check in experience went very smooth. The breakfast was amazing, just about anything you wanted. Great room and great service. Would definitely stay here again.
The staff here is amazing! They always go above & beyond. The breakfast was very good. Fresh, hot, tasty. The room was updated, clean & comfortable. The hot tub was a bit green, but the pool was still very nice & relaxing. Would definitely recommend!
The room was very nice but service was really bad. Drunks and kids wandering halls all nite and no matter how much I complained nothing was done. I really think the staff was afraid to tell them anything. I had to move rooms instead of the people causing the problem. Would not recommend hotel and I will not be returning
Great breakfast, great room, great service. What else are you looking for. Quick check ins and check outside. Great location with lots of options for food and drink close by. I will stay here only when in town on buisness.
On our drive from Minnesota to West Texas we wanted to spend a night near Kansas City. My spouse booked the hotel for myself and our small kids as we were the ones driving. We had a very pleasant experience. The rate was reasonable, the rooms were clean, spacious enough for 2 young kids and myself, the breakfast was good. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. We typically drive cross-country every summer and the Best Western Olathe is on our list of hotels that we will happily stay at again. Two Thumbs Up!
The rooms are clean and comfy. Breakfast and internet are free. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is an indoor swimming pool and a hot tub. The pool was sparkling clean and the water was just the right temperature to be refreshing. The hotel is convenienly located right off Hwy35.
I had never stayed at Best Western before and was shocked . The breakfast was excellent! The rooms were very nice and the pool was great! We decided to switch from them for future trips rather than our usual Holiday Inn express that we stay at!
Great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well presented and had more choices than usual. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I would certainly stay there again.
Very nice accommodations . Had adjoining rooms with family, kids and grandkids. Good service, clean and well kept. Ken at the front desk was very helpful. Close to freeway and restaurants. Stayed here on trip to Texas and back
The hotel is clean, the staff wasn't friendly or unfriendly, but this is not a good hotel for large groups, teams etc. Very small lobby, no where you can go to hang out or have a conversation, and they have doors on the breakfast area and if you want to sit there and just hang out or play cards or talk you have to pay them $25.00 an hour just to sit at their tables and chairs. Wont be going back with friends or any or of our kids teams.
This BW was among the best we have stayed at. Room was roomy and clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was quite very good, with a lot of good choices, both hot and cold. WiFi dropped a few times, but came right back. We would stay here again.
I stayed here 2 nights in April for a Drs. appt in Overland Park. I like staying here, because there was a McDonald's on one side & a Wendy's on the other. Plus it was VERY convenient to I-35, and also many other restaurants, shopping, all around. The staff was VERY friendly, hotel was quiet, although off I-35, and room was very clean, bed was very comfortable! I had a King suite, and it was nice to be able to relax on the couch instead of the bed. The price was VERY reasonable too! I would definitely stay here again!
The motel was very nice, the front desk person, was very helpful and nice. The room was very clean and quiet. The Bed and pillows were comfortable I did not hear my neighbors or much else. Definitely would stay there again.
Reasonably good hotel, but very poor policy. If you are a single parent, you will have a problem with the hotel, as they won't let kids stay next to you in an adjacent room. So hope you all fit in one! Really poor Best Western Plus policy and I won't stay there or any hotel of theirs.
We can't say enough good things about the Best Western Plus in Olathe, Kansas . We have stayed here many times eachyear for several years when visiting family in the area. The rooms are always pristine and comfortable. Breakfast is always perfectly prepared with a wide variety of foods. All rooms have an additional sitting area which includes a couch (some of which open to fold out beds), as well as a second large screen T.V., making it perfect for a family with children .One of the most important things about the hotel is the great service given by the staff. As a frequent guest we are always welcomed with a pleasant greeting. You too will be a pampered guest when you stay here. This hotel goes beyond our expectations. We highly recommend it over others in the area. Please read all my other reviews regarding this hotel. A special thanks to Ken most recently and to Mara who both always treat us so well when we visit. You can't go wrong here so make a reservation. Hurry !!! E. Kwapich
We drove from Colorado and was very pleased with our stay. All staff welcomed our family and were there when we needed anything. Rooms were clean and housekeeping came daily to freshen them up. Breakfast was just right for both adults and children. Just the right amount of choices.
I am a snowbird and I travel between the midwest and Arizona every year - south before winter, and back up north after winter. I make 2 annual trips - with 2 different cars - the family sedan, and my 55-year old sports car. Part of my route uses Interstate 35 - and the road goes through Kansas City. I love Best Western properties and I collect the points - and I use them for stays in very good hotels all across Europe. This year I checked out the Best Western Plus Olathe Hotel - it's just on the southern edge of Kansas City - and if you have been driving north for many hours it is great to get off the road just before the incredible level of traffic and the confusion of roads that go through Kansas City. I could not have made a better choice --- the BW Olathe Plus Hotel is a little piece of Heaven .. Every Best Western is independently owned and operated. You can read into that statement that each property can set its own level of expectations and standards. The PLUS designation generally means that the property meets a higher level of quality. The Olathe Plus BW sets a very high standard for the PLUS designation. My term here would be UPSCALE. Everything is not just clean and tidy - it is plush and wonderful! I selected a king suite and it was equipped with 2 flat screen TVs, a huge bed, a couch, a desk, a chair, a refrigerator and microwave - and a bathroom with a designer-level sink on a slate counter. The parking was plentiful and free; the WiFi was fast and free. And then, there was the breakfast ... The Olathe BW has a separate breakfast room that is clean and organized. I had a bowl of cereal and milk - with added raisins and cranberries, plus scrambled eggs and sausage. I skipped the very tempting DIY waffle. It was a great and tasty breakfast. The counter staff was friendly and efficient. I have a Platinum-level BW account and they recognized my hard-earned status and made me welcome. In the morning my bill was slipped under my door to speed me on my way. This is one of my new favorite hotels for my snowbird travels. I'll be back.
First things first- The room was clean; walls and floors were in tact.Great start! As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted with a great smelling aroma. I'm not sure what they use but it smells great..LOL. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is what you would expect from a typical free hotel-breakfast. However, every serving dish was full and fresh. Great stay if you are in the area~
Great place to stay for a night on the road traveling home to Wisconsin. All went well, very comfy room, and two tv's! We ordered Chinese food which was delivered right to our room, a nice option as we were too tired to go out for dinner! The front desk gave us a list of restaurants, including delivery options.
Great room! Plenty of space for all of our stuff! Including a refrigerator! Very clean! Awesome hot hot! Excellent after a long day of traveling! Great breakfast buffet with lots of options for everyone! Great housekeepers and staff!
Our family had a very pleasant stay. We had great rooms, enjoyed great breakfast, comfortable beds, the entire family enjoyed the pool. Nice location, close to nice eating establishments and shopping. Our family would stay again!!
this was a great place. very clean, good breakfast, very good price for what was offered. I will be staying there again if I need something in that area. We allowed to check in early which was very helpful to us.
This hotel is about a 20 minute drive from downtown KC. Our room had a mini living room, a microwave-refrig-coffee maker and a mini bedroom. Everything was clean and the room was quiet too. The hi ways are easily accessible.
We had to travel for a funeral and requested 3 rooms with one very elderly couple. The hotel was very helpful and put all three rooms next to each other. The rooms are very quiet... insulation seems much better than what one would expect in a lower priced hotel. The breakfast was solid with both warm and cold items.
My wife and I decided to cash in our reward points and enjoy a night out. This location is very near the interstate making it easy to get to. There are many options nearby for food and entertainment. We opted for the deluxe king room. The additional space was well worth the additional cost. The breakfast in the morning was great, but the coffee was so-so at best.
Exterior of hotel was nice, as was the interior. This hotel has been updated. The front desk staff was very courteous. The breakfast was your standard fare that you find at most hotels. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would choose this hotel if I am working in the area again.
Had reservations but tried to cancel due to to a family emergency. The family was called in for my father so I called to cancel and they refused to cancel or refund my money since I prepaid for the room. I wasn't leaving my fathers side to drive 4 hours to spend the night in a hotel. Who would? I feel I was called a liar for the reason for cancellation. I offered proof but they refused to give me a refund on our room. I feel this was pretty disrespectful and uncaring towards a family losing a family member. We will never book at this place again. They were very rude. How would they feel if it were their family?
Excellent service and facilities. I received a free upgrade. The only downside was that I was not impressed with the shower but everything else made up for that. Clean and comfortable. I had gift cards so I only paid $20 but not sure if I would have stayed here if I had to pay full price. Extremely nice place but I'm ok with a little less quality to save money.
We stayed only one night at the Olathe, KS Best Western Plus Hotel, The overnight stay was a good one, Staff very friendly and the room was clean, This Hotel could use an update on decor, and the mattress was not very comfortable, but all in all the staff, breakfast, and value was A-1
Always a pleasant experience when we stay in Olathe, KS especially during the Holidays when hotels find themselves short staffed. They pre-planned so their staff could also enjoy the holiday season with their families.
Overall a very pleasant trip. The breakfast buffet food was better than average, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again or recommend to a friend or family member.
Very accommodating staff and the services were all top quality. We needed early arrival, a small meeting room and a specialty restaurant in the area and the man at the reception desk was helpful, pleasant and accommodating. Really quite impressive.
Super close to family and they always strive to accommodate all of our needs. Nice rooms, usually very quiet. Restaurants close and not far from shopping and sights. Also close to several parks to walk around.
very attractive room and very comfortable stay nice lay out with bed separate form lounging area much like a suite. would come back here again. find the breakfast offerings consistent at each Best Western so you can know what to expect.
Parking is a little scarce. But the staff went out of there way to help me. Pool and hot was nice after a long drive. The staff is friendly and welcomes you with a smile. Breakfast was very good and the food was hot.
Very impressed with the cleanliness and friendly staff. Hotel smelled so fresh and our room was immaculate. Breakfast bar was well presented and very clean. Very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing stay. I highly recommend this hotel. We've stayed in others near Olathe that were much more expensive and was not impressed at all. We were very impressed with our stay at Best Western.
We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Olathe, KS. over thanksgiving. it was somewhat smooth check in, poor gal. was scattered around but other than that she was fine. only thing that bothered me was how i could hear the room next door so easy. and I having small children i felt bad.. But check out was smooth and easy process.
It is a pleasure to stay at this property. It is located near everything you would need on business or pleasure. The staff are excellent and the rooms are very nice. It is quiet and you can rest very good. It is like home away from home.
I have stayed at this hotel many times. My company uses this hotel for our customers. I have always had a wonderful stay! The staff is always more than helpful! Always clean! Beds are VERY comfortable! Breakfast is good. There were some rowdy teenagers in the pool area this time, but not the hotels fault. I blame the parents... I will definitely stay here again & also recommend.
Very nice place to stay. The staff, location, room and amenities were very nice. The rooms are not very sound proof so bring some ear plugs but otherwise a good place to relax whether leisure or business.
This is a good location for visiting Olathe, Kansas. You can get to places in Southern Olathe without all the traffic that has to be navigated at other hotels in the area. Another good thing is having a little sitting area with several chairs. Few hotels have that.
Nice overnight stay at BW Olathe, KS. King room, clean, comfortable beds, two TV's, microwave, fridge. Only issue was train noise, that continued all night. We were tired and slept OK with train noise all night. Breakfast was good ~ many, many food choices. One person was cleaning and replenishing the food and she did amazing . Easy on, Easy off.
I am very picky when I stay at a hotel. I don't like the towels above the toilet, bathroom needs to be clean, as often they are missed. The blankets need to be white, so I know they are washed. I personally prefer a soft bed, and the bed was nicer then my own.
Very noisy from the time we arrive (staff) through the night. We could hear people in both rooms beside us as well as the room above us sounded like it was going to fall in so to running and jumping. At breakfast the hotel staff were eating and making waffles for themselves while guests were waiting. I have never had this sort of thing happen at a hotel before.
The hotel is easily accessible while traveling and convenient to several restaurants. Excellent breakfast and coffee in the lobby. First Best Western I have seen that had toiletry dispensers instead of tiny bottles.
I always thought of Best Western Hotels as a place on the low end of the budget and quality. This Best Western would refute that as it was priced very good and is a quality hotel. It was clean, comfortable, quite, roomy, and the breakfast was good. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to save a few dollars but does not want to give up quality.
If you have pets, call hotel directly for reservations. Hotel won't honor online reservations if you have pets. It was a great location and very nice hotel. It's just south of Kansas City. Very safe area.
Loved this hotel, in door pool and hot tub and hubby love the gym. Great rooms, very big a spacious rooms. Only had 1 small problem when I checked in because my mom used points for me to stay there free, said she didn't have enough points but the front desk called her and got it all settled.
We were tired after a long drive and this place was a nice respite. Quick check in, room for our doggie and nice accommodations with a very comfy bed. Chilis across the street is very handy...if you prefer fast food McDonalds on one side and Wendy's on the other. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot and bedroom is separated from a small sitting room. Their rooms are very nicely done, quiet and room to move around. Loved it...will return if in the area.
A very clean hotel with great staff and a great breakfast. Staff is very friendly. Would recommend this hotel. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.
Good service overall, nice lobby, friendly staff for the most part, room was nice overall, and the bed was somewhat comfortable. The hotel is in a great location (very close to the interstate) and has several restaurants nearby.
Easy access off freeway, great choices for breakfast, many restaurants within walking distance, hot tub by pool was enjoyable, nice quiet environment, comfy king bed with the suite. We will stay again.
Very nice hotel with above average items for breakfast. Clean and well maintained lobby and rooms. Overall a great place to stay. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and quiet. We will be sure to come back next time we are through the area.
Very clean, nice and comfortable! Staff was super helpful!! Accommodations were GREAT!!! Breakfast options were fantastic! Easy access to the highway. Would highly recommend this hotel!! Pool was great for the family!!!
Everything about this hotel was great, we were in town for a softball tournament. The lady at the front desk opened up the eating area so we could feed the team. They had on site washer and dryer to wash uniforms too. Rooms were very spacious, beds were comfortable and bathrooms were big. Overall great hotel to stay in....we will stay again when we are in the area!
This is an older hotel that has been refurbished nicely, and it has updated amenities such as in-room Wi-Fi. The staff is cordial and willing to do whatever it takes to make the patron's stay a success!!
We stay here at least three times a year. The rooms are extremely clean and the beds are comfortable. The rooms and lobby have recently been updated even though they looked new before any work was done. The rooms have two T.V.'s and a suite. The breakfast is wonderful, but the staff is the icing on the cake. If you are lucky enough to be greeted by Mara or Ken consider yourself lucky. You will be treated like royalty. Read all my previous reviews for more detail about the hotel. You won't find a better place to stay. A++++++++
The bed was so comfortable, one of the best I've ever slept in. The hot tub was so small that only 4 people can fit at once and the step to get in is so big that if you have short legs, you won't be able to get in or out. Breakfast was good. Good variety. There was really nothing to do in the area but it is right off of I-35 so it was convenient in that sense.
The hotel was clean, pleasant and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I did have to look for lights but was pleased at how quickly the a/c responded since I prefer to sleep when it is cooler than most.
Overall nice property, comfy bed, friendly staff and great breakfast. Unfortunately some people think the no smoking policy doesn't apply to them, which can stink things up a bit. Location is great with many nearby restaurants and a Target (in case you forgot something.)
I travel alone for the most part. This time this was the last overnite stay of an unexpected 3 month adventure. By far this was the best experience of all the hotels. So professional and pleasant staff that truly enjoys their job. Room was over the top, clean, and comfy. The breakfast was the best by far. The robust coffee was exceptionally smooth.
Hotel is in a great location to get places but it is noisy due to a drive-in fast food restaurant and close to a truck stop so you will hear constant up shifting and down shifting of gears if you are on the front side of the hotel. The front desk staff is great but housekeeping did not fulfill requests to replenish complimentary teas and accompanying cups and additional pillows even when reminded. We have stayed at better BW and BW Plus hotels.
I stayed here on a recent business trip over a weekend. With having stayed here in the past I noticed some improvements since my last visit. The hotel is in a nice location but does have limited parking. My room was a king suite and was very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and informative as to the local restaurants to try. With that being said I thought the price per night was above average for this area and level of hotel.
This was a nice property. Property was very clean, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was good, and property offered a pool and workout room. Only disappointment was the small workout room and treadmill not working. Overall, very pleased!
Very nice hotel...clean, secure and in a convenient location. We will stay there again for future visits. We appreciated the upgraded room...our stay was very comfortable. I would encourage anyone to stay there.
Good value for money, comfortable room designed with bedroom and sitting room. Very strong door on room! As good as you will get in this price range. Right off highway so easy to get to but not near downtown. Located in the midst of fast food heaven.
Over the past 28+ days we've been touring the West and stayed in many hotels(some other than BW Plus's) including some B & B's. The old saying of "you get what you pay for" I believe is true. We where in some 5 star hotels along the way, some of our BW's (especially BW Plus) in some of the locations we where touring were just as nice and not as expensive. Overall most(not all**) were moderately priced and very nice. **Note: some still price gouge you because of the area their in OR some event is taking place..
This is my hotel of choice when I stay in the Olathe area on business. It is convenient to my business needs and the hotel is a nice and neat place to stay. If you choose to stay here, not that it has options like exercise equipment and pool available. The breakfast area is a fair size and offers a nice variety of foods to start your day.
I have just recently tired of paying $150.00+ a night and started trying different places. This is the third stay at a BW and so far so good. Stay in a room on the north side of the property to avoid the highway noise. Breakfast was excellent!
This hotel is just ok at best. I think the price is a little high for what it is. The bathrooms are the smallest of ANY hotel I've ever been in. I would not recommend this hotel for a family. The breakfast is decent, but nothing great. Overall, the price is just too high for this hotel.
This was a pleasant experience. I requested a quiet room and they changed my reservation from one side of the hotel to a different room to accommodate my request. They picked the right room, had a great nights sleep. Friendly, helpful employees, very nice room, good breakfast, We'll stop here again!
I travel quite a bit for work. Any time I have to travel to the Olathe area, I ALWAYS stay at this Best Western. Everything about it is top notch! You just won't find a better place for the price and a staff that is willing to go out of their way to provide you with the best service possible. This is what has kept me coming back over the last several years when I travel to this area.
Super nice hotel for the price. Great value and very clean. I stayed there one night for business and was very happy. It was quiet, clean and the wifi was very good. I loved the separate little living room area. Breakfast was good enough.
Good stay. Could improve cleanliness and noise, but overall good. Would stay again in the future. Small pillows were not very comfy, but the bed was very comfy. I liked the shampoo and lotion it was good quality and smelled wonderful!
I have never used this brand before, and I was pleasantly surprised! The room was very clean. I felt comfortable for my toddler to play in the room! The layout was good in the 2 queen bed room. The bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was clean as well. Breakfast had lots of good options. The staff was friendly. Staying in a hotel is sometimes a challenge with a toddler and an infant, but this hotel worked out really well!
The breakfast was definately one of the best ive had at a hotel. Sausage patties were great and they had potatoes that were amazing! I also really enjoyed the setup of the room we had. My 8 yr old daughter slept in the sofa sleeper which had a wall divider from our bed. She had her own personal space and own tv which she loved. Great hotel!
Super nice hotel, roomy room, excellent bed, breakfast was one of the best I've had, dining room was large and very nice, staff really made us feel at home. The location was perfect for us since we were shopping for a vehicle and there were many in close proximity, one nice one across the street! I would stay here again in a second.
Great location right off of I-35 and short distance from where we needed to be. The property, rooms and grounds were very clean with updated décor. There were lots of options for breakfast and I really enjoyed making fresh waffles. The bed was so soft and comfortable. Did not have any issues. Will stay there again when needed. We left a pillow there and just had to call the hotel and they had already found it and asked how we wanted it returned, luckily we had not left the area yet so we were able to pickup it up right away.
Very disappointed with TripAdvisor. They provided us with a Confirmation # for 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. We arrived at Best Western to discover they never confirmed our reservation with Trip Advisor. The Hotel was great. Nice big/clean connecting rooms, very good breakfast. Our dissatisfaction is with TripAdvisor. We received a confirmation from them however when we arrived at the hotel, we were told they had overbooked at the time the reservation was made and could not provide a room, the hotel clerk told us they informed Trip Advisor of this. This confirms that TripAdvisor confirmed our reservation without actually having it confirmed with the hotel. To our good fortune, the hotel had a cancellation and they could accommodate us, however not at the original confirmed price. We spent at least 90 minutes (with our family and kids waiting in the lobby) on the telephone with TripAdvisor. They also tried negotiating with the hotel management a deeper discount which he refused to do. TripAdvisor said they could put us in a nearby hotel for 1 room with a king bed, however our original confirmed reservation was for 2 rooms with 2 queens beds. After the hotel management finished talking with Trip Advisor, we were told TA agreed to send him a credit card authorization full payment of the rooms at the hotels price. If they were truly a company that wants to be know for quality service and care for their customers, they would have agreed to do this at the very beginning. Instead, they elected to subject us to 90 minutes of frustration (not to mention 90 minutes of lost vacation that was planned for our grandkids to go swimming) and concerns if we were going to have rooms that night without having to come up with considerable more money. A shout out to the hotel clerk who was also frustrated, but still worked hard to accommodate us during this ordeal. He could have easily rented the only two rooms he had available to someone else at a much higher rate, but held them for us giving us time to work with TripAdvisor. All hotels in the area were booked solid due the the Solar Eclipse event. I will be leaving a review on TripAdvisor about this as well. So beware, a confirmation number from this company does not necessarily mean you will have a room available when you arrive at your hotel.
This particular Best Western Plus is worth the stop. I am a single traveler that has an adversity to noice in hotels. I wasn't able to stay on the top floor and paid for for this mistake. Questionable parenting allowed their small child to run and jump in the room right over me until after 10 p.m. Not the fault of the hotel.
The employees were very helpful and attentive, especially at check in. The room was very clean and quiet. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. The only piece of advice I would offer would be to improve the eggs at breakfast.
This hotel was first class all the way! Rooms are modern and clean. Pool area and hot tub are well kept. Service was really good. Kind, friendly employees that seemed to care. Breakfast was over the top. Even if it had less items it'd be good but what they serve makes it sooo good. I liked that the toilet in the room was elongated. Air conditioning worked well. We were on the third floor and it was super quiet! Overall great stay. Would stay here again.
4 days into a 15 day long stay the housekeeping cleaned the room and threw away all of my belongings including my medications . When I went to talk to the gentleman at the front desk I was told that it wasn't his problem and there was nothing he could do. Only once the police showed up did he try to be helpful. Still all my belongings were gone and was told "it's not my problem". Needless to say I cut the hotel stay short and went to another hotel, me and my company will never stay at a Best Western ever again.
Hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. The variety of breakfast items were served in a lovely room and the service was accommodating. The only negative to my stay was the unpleasant odor in the room.
This is a clean and well-maintained hotel. Staff is friendly and the breakfast was satisfactory. A/C worked great, which was necessary during the 100+ temperatures outside. Great value for the price. Only complaint is that there's a truck stop down the street, and we could hear the trucks all hours of the day and night. My recommendation would be to request a room on the opposite side of the hotel from the street.
Our car and another were burglarized parked in front of the entrance and the hotel management was not helpful, the hotel has no surveillance cameras and simply said they have no responsibility. Very disappointing (and expensive.)
Clean rooms, organized entrance, Great Staff in meeting you in arrival Beds soft and clean,.This review is to long to type that many word so could u shorten it up and make this part a little easier thank u have a great day
We stayed there due to location, to travel to see all of them each day and evening. We pretty much slept, showered, got ready, left. Did the same thing each morning and evening. Once they are ready for over night guests, we won't be needing to stay at any hotel
We found the Olathe Best Western to be a very nice hotel and convenient to the interstate highway. The staff were friendly and this includes "dog-friendly". Our English springer spaniel gave it paws-up also. The breakfast was well above average. We hope to stay again.
We stayed in this hotel for the second time and were extremely pleased with the cleanliness, staff assistance and the room amenities and service. Breakfast was great as well. Would definitely stay here again when we return to Olathe.
Great place to stay friendly wonderful cleanest access. Good food electronic devices worked great. Pleasure friendly staff. Would stay here again if need arises. Should teach other places customer service
Helpful staff...great breakfast...awesome room....the location was perfect for our plans....for some it might be to "out of the way" it was GREAT for us. There were not many places to eat around the hotel and the construction made it a little difficult but the hotel it's self is a gem.
Wow, surprised by level of quality! Extremely comfortable bed, updated design, great service. Pool, hot tub & entire hotel clean & well kept. Excellent service from staff! Very please with everything!
We've stayed here before and have always had a good experience. Breakfast is adequate, rooms are really nice and roomy. we had a pet friendly room and there were no noticeable odors. Convenient to I-35 and KS 7. Some restaurants close by. Over the years the rates have continued to go up (supply and demand).
Great hotel for the price, helpful staff, and breakfast was excellent. Room décor was up to date and very nice, the beds were comfortable and plenty of towels were available. Our granddaughter used the pool which was very clean and inviting although a little cool. This was a great location for our trip and we would stay here again.
The hotel was very quiet, even though there was a ball team staying there. The room was huge, with all the amenities that we needed. A good location with easy access and a Macdonalds across the parking lot.
Thank you, Best Western Olathe! Everyone who assisted us at the hotel was EXTREMELY professional and hospitable. I felt like we were guests at a 5 star hotel or resort given the quality of our treatment. The room was way bigger than we expected—very clean and nicely appointed with good linens, pillows, and artwork. Finally, breakfast was delicious and saved us at least $20 as opposed to going out. They had a great coffee bar and were serving fruit, cereal, baked goods, waffles, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, BISCUITS AND GRAVY, BACON (not on the menu anywhere else we considered staying in Olathe), and adorable-looking breakfast burritos. They even had tiny containers of salsa for the eggs and burritos. Yum! We appreciated the attention to detail.
Best sleep ever on a hotel bed it was comfy and clean. Nice hotel staff from when we first checked in to our check out. Breakfast was hot and good. Pool was a little cold for me but didn't bother the kids, I enjoyed the hot tub and my peaceful nights sleep.
The first time staying at this motel and very pleased with the room and location. Nice staff, esp the man that checked us in . Got the room requested. Good bed, clean room and updated. The only negative was the smokers sitting out front entrance and so close to door and building. Would stay again if in area,, and rooms some pricey over $100. Area did seem safe though.
I needed to stay another night in kansas city but the Hotel I stayed at the first night did not have any rooms left so I ended up staying at this hotel when I showed up it looked very nice and had restaurants all around also a gas station right next door, the guy that checked me i wish i could remember his name he was very friendly and i enjoyed talking with him also as i filled out my paper work he was talking to some frequent guest like he they were friends I enjoyed that it made it feel like I was at home I got to my room and it was a lot bigger than I had thought the bathroom was pretty little but it was very nice I noticed something very unique to the lotion and hand wash were on the wall in dispensers even in the shower the shampoo condition and body wash were on the wall as well I have never had a hotel like that and it had amazing face clothes and oatmeal oxygen scrub we loved it!! the next morning the breakfast was very good everything was hot and the coffee tasted perfect!! I had a very good stay!!
Hotel is nicely decorated and clean. Staff was courteous. Room was good sized and clean. Beds were comfortable and I liked that there were four pillows on my bed. There was a microwave and refrigerator in our room which was convenient. Our room was on the backside of bldg. and we were able to hear street noise, but so tired it did not effect our sleep. Breakfast had lots of choices, was hot and good tasting. Close to lots of shops, easy to get to.
Great place to stay. I stay at this Best Western many times a month and it is a great place to stay. Nice rooms and the staff is very professional and always helpful. It is located is a very good area with easy access to the highway and other things.
Good location form Interstate, convient to Olathe city limits. No resturant near-just fast food--Wendy's, McDonald. The motel has a very clean pool and hot tub area. We would chose this motel again. Breakfast had good chooses.
I've stayed in this hotel several times over the past 5 years when I go back home to visit family. This weekend's two day stay will be my last here. Each night, Friday and Saturday, we came in later in the evening, after 9pm. Friday night there were about 15 men right outside the front door drinking beer and smoking. I would not have had my wife walk in or out alone at that point. Saturday night was the same group again drinking and smoking just outside the front door. What made that experience even better was 9:30pm on the back side of the hotel was and I kid you not, a tailgate party. Truck with the tailgate down, beer flowing, music blaring, and about 10 lawn chairs surrounding the truck. I'm just thankful our room was not neighboring them. So yeah, I'll stay somewhere else from now on. Management on duty in the evenings seem to let anyone do what they want.
EXCELLENT hotel. Clean, great beds, and UNBELIEVABLE breakfast! Would stay here again in a heart beat. Great rates through Costco too. Staff was friendly. Quiet rooms. Best of all.....a great pet rate ($10.00 per night).
Going to places to see friends and shop and see old history places. See the classmates of 1957. See the old girl friends in Indiana.and see a lot of rain that we don't see in Arizona. See all the green grass and trees.
Outstanding service and location. Made my days away from home very comfortable and enjoyable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My room felt like a mini apartment with is size and amenities. A must stay in Olathe, KS!
The hotel was in a good location and the layout of the room was very nice and well-maintained. It had a little separate space with a couch, table, and a tv, a desk with a chair, and also had big closet and plenty of dresser space. There were a lot of choices for breakfast. We had a 3rd floor room, which was very quiet despite being next to the elevator and ice machine (and for those who are extra sensitive to noise, the doors did not slam shut as in many hotels). Besides one hotel staff member who didn't seem extra happy to help us (though still relatively pleasant), the staff were all friendly and helpful. The hot tub was nice. We would definitely stay there again!
I'm a very picky person and the quality of this hotel was excellent. Very clean . Friendly staff . The bed was really comfortable . They were very accommodating to the business traveler ! Way to go Best Western of Olathe!!!
Although the staff was not friendly, I was pleased with my room, the cleanliness and noise level. Parking is not the greatest. I just tried to book a room for next weekend at the same hotel and the room rate has doubled.
I travel way to much! So when I stay In place like this it makes life on the road much more bearable. Best Western plus hotels are usually pretty nice but this one seemed more comfortable than the others. The room was great the staff was pleasant and the location was safe. If you're in the Kansas City / Olathe area and need a place to rest...I recommend This BW plus hotel.
The hotel is modern, the rooms are spacious . We booked a standard room and were pleasantly surprised to have gotten a spacious room with a separate living room with a sofa and a bedroom part with a nice comfy chair for reading. There were two tv's in the room. In the morning we had a great breakfast and we noticed the menu differed over the two days we stayed. The staff always had smiles for us including the maids in the hallways. Thanks for a great experience.
The facility was conveniently located en-route for our travels, located in a fairly quiet and safe part of Olathe. The room was spacious and clean. Lobby, breakfast area, and surrounding grounds were well maintained and clean. Staff was helpful and attentive. The one negative was a broken access door near our room, making it impossible to re-enter the facility without going all around to the main entrance. Since it was a weekend, the clerk just shrugged and indicated it wasn't working, nor would it be repaired during our stay.
The staff provided excellent service with an attention to detail. The hotel staff contacted me regarding items I had left behind in the room. They saved me hundreds of dollars in replacement costs. Thank you!
When inclement weather caught up with us mid-trip, we decided to stop for the night. We found that there was a Best Western Inn nearby in Olathe so we headed there. We were fortunate enough to find a vacancy so we were checked in by a very efficient and helpful Manager on duty at the time. The room was excellent and very spacious and comfortable although brighter lighting would have been more useful to us. All of the usual convenience items were available. There was a self-help tea and coffee service available in the lobby which was very pleasant on a rainy night. Breakfast was offered to guests of the Inn. The restaurant was spacious and there was a wide selection of items to satisfy most customers. The young lady serving there was quick at keeping the serving dishes filled and the tables cleaned and ready for new customers We appreciated the Wi-Fi service as well to notify our family of our change in plans. Overall, we found the Best Western Plus at Olathe a very nice and comfortable place to stay with a very helpful and friendly staff and would recommend it to anyone.
My wife called the hotel directly and they knocked $10 off the online price, and they also let us check in early on our arrival date. Very courteous staff, clean room with nice setup, and the breakfast was pretty great too. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
This was a very nice hotel. It was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. They had a dispenser for soap and lotion by the bathroom sink and a dispenser in the tub/shower for shampoo, conditioner, and soap. What a great idea! The breakfast was very nice and had lots of options. I would definitely stay here again.
happened to me. I can only review the service nightmare when I tried to change my arrival and stay dates. I had just booked the room, for three nights, but within a couple hours needed to change the dates for one week later due to meetings that were pushed. Seems simple enough? No way, not when you book through this company, Reservation Counters. Apparently Best Western allows 3rd party companies to override any of their own, and I was told I had to pay NO MATTER WHAT. At first I was told by this Olathe Best Western hotel manager, in a snide way, that I had to pay for all three nights, even though I couldn't even check in for several hours. And his reason was that I didn't book the room from the hotel direct or bust western.com. I HAD NO IDEA, I THOUGHT IT WAS THEIR SITE, IT HAD THEIR NAME IN IT. The jerk manager is named Matt, and I was not rude, he's truly a bitter person. So I called Best Western corporate, who told me something different, that the hotel owner could approve a change of the dates without charging me for every night booked. So lastly, I called the company Reservation Counter, who I unknowingly booked the room through. They let me out of two of the nights, but claimed their policy did not allow any changes without charging me for at least one night. Again, I was hours away from being able to check in, but still they insisted I had to pay for one night. So this is more like a warning, and I doubt that it will post or stay posted, since this company is also a third party booking company, but I'll try anyway, and it helps some to tell a true and actual situation that can be avoided. But if they don't post it, I'll paste it directly to my Facebook account, because the owners and management of this Best Western in Olathe, KS does not have integrity. In fact, this is an ugly reflection of the entire company of Best Western Hotels. It should not be legal to be tricked into thinking one is booking at a hotel only to discover that it wasn't the actual hotel, but a third party company, and the actual hotel company allowed their customers to be scammed in this way. By the way, I disputed the charge, this company RESERVATION COUNTER, will never take my money for this trickery, and the more they try to push it, the louder and broader I will get. Companies like Best Western and this dubious third party company must learn they cannot operate a business with malicious intent. What they sow they will also reap.
The hotel was easy to find. We were impressed with the friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. We stayed here for a sports tournament. Our room faced the parking lot, and we had an issue with noise that the staff quickly took care of. Coffee and breakfast were great.
The hotel was spotless and very comfortable, the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. Morning breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. There are also several good restaurants near by.
Very clean And nice. Polite staff. It was waffles, eggs, biscuits, cereal and oatmeal for breakfast and more. Easy place and quick off interstate 35 for us passing through. We would do it again. Quiet rooms.
Being from out of town my observations may be naive but I had business in Olathe and Overland Park on this trip. Though I liked this hotel ok it was too far out from the rest of the area where I had business. There were hotel options closer in. Otherwise not a bad stay. There was a 54th Street Bar & Grill (a personal favorite) across the road so that saved the night. Also a McDonald's, Wendy's and a C Store within walking distance. I like to walk outside at night but area was a little sketchy for that. So all said, the hotel itself was great as far as service and accomodations. Location, no so great.
We stay here every time we visit Kansas City. This hotel knows how to treat their customers. The rooms are immaculate. Two T.V.s in every room. Fluffy comforters on the beds. Wonderful breakfast selection. The best part is the outstanding service. If your lucky you'll be greeted by Ken. Ken is outstanding. Not only did he greet us by name but handled very aspect of taking my reservation over the phone to greeting us upon our arrival as well as handling our express check out. Such a nice person and always efficient and professional. A+++ wonderful. Stay here and you won't regret it. For more details see all my reviews for this hotel.
Room was comfortable and remodeled. Includes a microwave and large mini-fridge. Breakfast was a big help in the morning and the staff was beyond kind and helpful. Pet friendly. Right off the highway. I would highly recommend.
Hotel was awesome! Great location. Easy access to our destination. Clean room. Well appointed amenities. Decor was nice. Staff was helpful and ready with taxi information. Requested a late check out and it was granted. Do not know if housekeeping was made aware though because they knocked on the door at 8:30 am even with a Do Not Disturb sign posted. Wanted to take advantage of the hot tub but the chlorine level must have been extremely high. You could smell it on the 3rd floor. I do not know if it was the ventilation system or they were being super vigilante due to a prior issue. As a wearer of contacts with an eye exam scheduled for the same day I decided not to enter the pool area. Being in the hospitality industry myself I am completely understanding of the issues that arise. Pam, the GM, is doing a wonderful job!
Very friendly staff. Clean lobby and room. Good variety at breakfast. Comfortable bed. Good shower head and grab bar in the shower. Lots of lamps in room. Not real good lighting in bathroom, but adequate.
This is a very nice hotel, have stayed multiple times as it's so close to both the Overland Park Soccer Complex and The Lone Elm Soccer in Olathe. Always clean, nice room arrangement, and a great breakfast.
we stay at this hotel when we are at soccer events in the area for a number of reasons. it's clean, pool is nice, front desk staff are helpful, and the breakfast (included) is above average for the room price.
It took 3 tries to get a room where MOST things worked. In the first room, neither the phone nor the internet worked. When I complained about the phone for the second day in a row, he said they had "switched it out already" & it would be morning till he could get me a phone. How do you get a wake up call without a phone? So he moved me to a second room. After unpacking nearly everything, I went in the bathroom to find half of the main lights not working. So off to a third room where the main floor light didn't work. The manager was with me to make sure everything was functional since this was the third room we tried. This was the major light for the room. He plugged it in but couldn't turn it on because it had no knob. He made no offer to fix or change it. By then it was nearly midnight and I was exhausted, so I stayed. . It remained broken for the rest of the stay. Housekeeping does a really poor job. There was small bits of paper on the floor when I moved in that remained there despite daily "cleaning". They also left a dirty bath towel hanging behind the door. That is just gross. This is a small complaint but there was no safe in the room. Most other hotel chains in this price category have a safe in the room. When I asked, all I got was a "No, sorry." I don't see where all the great reviews come from. Maybe I got a lower quality room since I went thru Hotels.com The only partly positive thing I can say is they had hot scrambled eggs & sausage or make your own waffles for breakfast. However, all the muffins were so stale you could not eat them. Even dunked in coffee. The OJ and apple juice were also really diluted. Even tho this is the most convenient location for my needs, I won't stay here again. I will drive an addition 15 minutes to get a decent room at a much better price.
This is not the old Best Western you know, this is something new. The Plus version. I've been a Hampton and Farifield Inn customer for many years, but I'm switching. The rooms are a little smaller and the linens a little lower end than those properties but when you consider the cost difference, it's a no brainer. The breakfast beats those properties hands down. Lots of choices and good quality except the usual fake orange juice And the staff, wow. Everyone was very friendly and helpful right down to the handy person and the housekeepers I happened to meet in the hallways. Front desk, perfect. This place really has something going. It's a winner.
very very nice. will definitely stay there again!!! excellent breakfast, very clean. didn't want to leave. staff very friendly, female traveling alone and i felt very very safe. can't wait to go back!
Oh my gosh! Such a wonderful time I had at your facility! I came for a very brief R&R trip and it couldn't have turned out better! Kenneth, the desk staff was all that was helpful!! Very much so- he helped me locate several places to check out and gave me excellent information regarding them (i.e hrs of operation, location). He truly made my much needed R&R a heavenly time. Please ensure that he is recognized for his complete 'host' qualities. I earmarked your facility and plan on coming back soon. Truly. The breakfast was divine! I awoke @ 5:30a, went to breakfast @ 6ish and back to bed, read a book, relaxed & slept. Awoke again @ 930a, hit breakfast again. VERY fulfilling, RELAXING & INDULGENT experience! Bless you for making my weekend so pleasurable. I will spread the word of this complete happy experience~
The checkin is fast and easy. They are willing to help you at any time. The Food is ok not to bad. Rooms are wearing a little but clean and well kept. Its in a good spot lots food close bye to pick from. The pool was clean but small. Plenty of help if you need . Felt good staying here. price was spot on for what you got. Good Job to best western I will be back.
Great trip thru Kansas Olathe was a nice visit with a Business man been talking with for a year now and finally had time to make trip to meet him Trip on to Dodge City was nice as well Then onto Denver
That is why I keep coming back and consider no other accommodations in the Johnson County area! Great customer service, clean, comfy, convenient and continually upgraded. Highly recommended! I actually appreciated the addition of a tip jar in the breakfast area, service was so awesome and the presentation was so inviting, staff needed to be recognized and acknowledged!
I travel quite a bit for my job and am always looking for a great place to stay. I have found that the Best Western in Olathe is a great place for a great value! The staff is incredible and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in Olathe!
Pleasantly surprised as to how nice this hotel was. Location it's a little different and I was honestly wondering if it would be quiet due to its proximity to the highway but it was very quiet. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
We were in town for a wedding. Great staff, clean rooms and close to activities and shopping. There breakfast was wonderful, a real meal not just some sweet rolls and cereal. Biscuits gravy , eggs the works. Only down side for us was we needed a firmer bed. They also let you bring your pet. I did feel the price was a little high since we had a block of rooms for wedding and took up most of the rooms there.
We stayed for one night in Olathe and would definitely stay at this property again. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, and the location off the interstate is ideal. There is gas station and two fast food places right next door if you need them. The pool was on the small side, as was the hot tub, but both were clean. The free breakfast was one of the best we've had.
The breakfast was very superior to other hotel breakfasts. I liked the eco-friendliness of the hotel (though there's always room for improvement). The staff were really nice. The location was convenient for our purposes this trip (I wouldn't normally stay in Olathe).
We had an excellent overnight stay. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and warm. I'm picky about cold pools and this one I could jump right in with the kids! The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were huge! Lots of space for the kids to play and have space to move around. Hotel was very quiet the entire time, even through 5.6 earthquake that hit in Oklahoma and we felt it here! ?? it was topic of conversation at breakfast which was very good! Lots of options. This will likely become our KC area hotel in the future as we were very impressed and satisfied!
It was a very good experience! The staff was very friendly, especially at check in. The hotel was very accomodating to every need I might have had. The breakfast was awesome, with many choices of items that did not disappoint me. The quality of the food and service were outstanding altogether. The only thing I would change would be the size of the dining area (a little cramped) and the cleanliness of the room. I think they just forgot to clean on top of the microwave because there was a few pieces of pizza crust left over from someone else's stay. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay for the money I paid.
We have been at this hotel before and it is one of the best we have been at in our travels, Had a king size bed with a sofa and two tv's. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable and it did not lack any amenities. The breakfast was great and had everything that you would desire. We felt the room was a little pricey but if you want the best you have to pay for it. Didn't like the 15% plus tax added. We fully recommend this hotel.
I chose this hotel based on the good reviews on trip advisor. My room was clean and the beds were comfortable . The room had a sitting area as well as a refrigerator and microwave oven. The breakfast was tasty and included a full breakfast such as eggs, bacon, biscuits as well as oatmeal and yogurt. The breakfast was a full menu of breakfast food. The staff was friendly and attentive. The front desk manager was especially attentive. I plan to stay at this hotel on my next trip to Olathe.
I stayed here over a weekend business trip. This hotel is borderline having a Plus rating. The outside of the hotel is not very pleasant and had trsh left in the parking lot all weekend. Hotel staff were not very energetic on being there. There was a camper in the parking lot being worked on. The lawn crew cut the grass and blew it all over the cars in the lot. It took me a while to clean it off my truck that was just detailed that morning. Couple of local restaurants close by that were good. The room itself was very nice with very nice furnishings. The bed was very comfortable.
This was our last night of a 25 day trip and we saved the best for last. Everything about it was excellent. Clean comfortable rooms, great breakfast and easy freeway access. Many restaurants within a couple of miles. I highly recommend this hotel.
My room was updated, clean, and presented itself well. I was relieved to see the thermostat set at a reasonable temperature and controlling the AC when I checked in during the evening of a very hot day. The desk was functional and the internet worked well. Beds have thick foam pillow tops that allow you to sink down into them and may be too soft for some. There were only a couple of annoyances: the refrigerator is intentionally turned off after the last guest leaves and must be turned on by the new guest. Anything placed in there cold will warm up as the unit takes a day to cool down completely. Management should stop this practice as current refrigerators use so little energy and turning them off effectively removes them from any practical use by the guest. Also the water pressure in the bathroom is very low and affects the shower strength. When the room was cleaned after the first night the maid did not clean the shower/tub, sink, or toilet and did not leave a new bar of soap. The second day however all was serviced properly. Other than those minor annoyances everything went fine. The deluxe hot breakfast was very good. Good location with many restaurants nearby.
You just can't go wrong if you stay here. The hotel never disappoints us. The staff is professional and caring. The rooms exceed any others in the area. Each standard room is a suite divided into two areas each containing a T.V.The rooms are Clean Clean Clean! Breakfast is great and has even gotten better over the years. Please read all my reviews for this hotel. Especially one of my first titled "Don't Stay Anywhere Else".It contains more information that still rings true today.
My family and I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Olathe for the first time for three nights last week and we were very impressed with the hotel. The staff was friendly, the continental breakfast offered a lot of selections, the pool and work out facility was good and the room was very nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Olathe or Kansas City area.
We have stayed at this hotel in the past and been very happy with the accommodations. It is located close to a major interstate in the area and near food and other activities. We will stay again if we visit the area again in the future.
My wife have stayed at this hotel twice in the last 3 months, and have enjoyed our brief stays so much that we have booked another stay in two months. Staff was great, but the breakfasts were fantastic - complete with waffles. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Location to/from interstate highway is easily within five minutes. We love this hotel.
This is the 2nd time we have started here and there are no complaints. The breakfast is really good, fresh, and lots to choose from. The beds are nice and soft and the pillows are awesome. Could be more though. Lol. I love that there are 2 tv's in the room. There is also a fridge and microwave. Will definitely stay here again
This was my second stay at this hotel. The staff is always friendly and the rooms clean and nice. The fitness center was clean and the wifi fast. I definitely will continue to stay at this hotel when I am in the area.
This property was a very nice, relaxing Hotel. There were convenience stores close as well as restaurants to offer travelers options as needed. The breakfast was fresh and warm. The staff was very pleasant.
Found this hotel on Trip Advisor and the reviews were very good so we booked a two night stay. We travel to Olathe a few times a year and will definitely stay here again. Easy to find, close to the interstate, and lots of eating and shopping choices nearby.
Our first impression was the odor in the lobby, then came the "acknowledgment" from the front desk clerk, I won't say greeting because there was go greeting to it, I felt as if we were bothersome. Then came the room, while it appeared clean, it was only clean on the surface. The air conditioner is literally 2' from the bed so when it's on, I could feel the air blow up my nose. It also had a terrible rattle, there was no consistency to the crazy thing, it wouldn't stay on long enough so it got hot in between cycles. Hot cold Hot cold, miserable sleeping. It just wasn't a good stay at all and the parking is pretty awful as well, one entrance/exit makes it difficult when the lot is full and you're in a large vehicle. I did write a review which came via email and the manager called the house but my husband took the call. I don't know what they can do to make it better, I do know I won't be staying here again.
This is a fine hotel with welcoming staff. The rooms are always immaculate. Each room has two large screen T.V.s. and a "suite with a couch" For an in depth review of this hotel see l my review "Don't Stay Anywhere Else". You can also read the other reviews I have left for this hotel since that review. Proof that this hotel is a real winner. A+
The hotel has nice rooms, very comfortable bed. The place is a recommend in my book other than the following. Front desk man is not pleasant and was down right rude when he has more than one task or customer. I had to wait while he finished putting temporary bed away, when in my book should be customer first, then chore. Second day we were gone from morning until midnight and came back to a room that hadn't been serviced. Morning breakfast staff was wonderful and helpful. Food was good.
I Love that this place is constantly smelling clean and there is always someone cleaning when i am walking IN/OUT, and i work in IT at all hours and there they are, cleaning. Front desk is always helpful. I would only say that i wish the beds were a bit more comfortable, but its just a thought.
After 12 hours on the road this was a wonderful find. The front staff was exceptional at checkin and throughout our stay. The room was clean and the bed was the most comfortable of any during our 3708 mile road trip. Everything was exceptional. Highly recommend.
Stayed here because we were traveling with our cats. The hotel were great about that -- giving us a suite room instead of the king room we had booked. Lovely to have the extra space with our two litlle "darlings" prowling the room. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfy. We'll definitely stay here again.
The Hotel is very clean and the room is extremely spacious. We got a room with two queen beds and the room had a sitting area with two chairs and a table. We did not feel cramped at all. The breakfast is great! It is a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles and more. I would highly recommend staying here.
All of the interior seemed new. The furnishings were very comfortable. The room was larger and nicer than anticipated. It was a great value. It was convenient to my conference and to restaurants and fast food.
Obviously, this is not a "luxury" hotel; however, it is really the staff that makes the difference here. At check-in, the front desk person was courteous, helpful, and efficient. Our room was nice--and the bed was quite comfortable. It was quite hot the day we arrived, but the AC was turned down in the room, so it was cool and comfortable when we walked in. I really appreciated that. When we went back down to go get dinner, the front desk person offered a recommendation for a local spot that was close by, had pretty good food, and was reasonably priced. In the morning, we went down for breakfast and found a wide array of offerings and, again, a very friendly attendant in the breakfast room. Overall, this was a very comfortable stay, but it's really the staff that put it over the top. Would definitely stay again.
Great hotel! Beautiful, attentive staff and fine breakfast service. Only issue was the air conditioning blowing right on the bed. When it was on it was cold, off seemed hot. Lots of waking up as it cycled on and off. Other ma'am that, great stay great location. It seems they retrofitted under window air conditioners to a wall thermostat.
After driving for several hours, it was wonderful to be greeted by a gentleman who explained all of the features of the motel and offered advise of places to visit and eat. We thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and clean comfortable furnishings. The dining hostess was just wonderful during our pleasant morning breakfast. I believe her name was Itsel. She was very attentive and helpful. A great start of our day.
I am a hospitality professional. I am very impressed with this property. The rooms are clean, fresh, new and inviting. My wife and I were made welcome and enjoyed our overnight stay. In the morning on the way to breakfast, we were greeted with a smile by every staff member. The breakfast room was one of the best I've seen in my travels. Itsel, the breakfast attendant, was friendly and made everyone feel special.
We were at a loss when our pet sitter backed out last minute over Memorial Day weekend. Best Western is pet friendly and it was no trouble booking a room with just a $10 per pet upcharge. We brought our kennel and an extra blanket for the bed as we let our dogs sleep with us and thought that was a respectable thing to do. We had a nice room with easy access to an off leash dog park a few miles away. There was a grassy area for the pups to do their business, but the park was nice to get energy out. Breakfast was hot but not great. Coffee was really good. Parking was easy.
I stayed two nights and the suite was wonderful and very clean. The hot breakfast was terrific and I can't wait to come back and stay again. Since the hotel is next to I35, you think it is going to be noisy, but it was very quiet and cozy.
Friendly staf,f very helpfu,l great breakfast, easy access to I-35 with a mall and fast food nearby and a gas station it is in a good location. I have no complaints and have stayed here on multiple occassions.
Great check in process and very friendly even though it was late at night. The room was very nice 2 large tv's and microwave. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. I like the soap and shampoo dispensors in the shower which made it easy to use. The shower was average with an adjustable head. The only reason it is not a 5 rating is I had a room facing the interstate which was close and noisy. Also I was awakened by the trains in the area. If you have a chance ask for a room away from the interstate and it would be a perfect place. It is located right next to a McDonalds but I didn't have a chance to eat the breakfast but it was in a nice set up and seemed to have decent options. Overall I would stay again but request a room on the quiet side.
in town over weekend for soccer tournament. excellent breakfast with many choices, ready by 6am so able to get good food before early soccer games. love coffee in lobby available all times. great stay, close to many restraurants, easy drive to field, great price
This hotel is in a very busy area, but the room was surprisingly quiet. The fan will stay on for white noise. We had a room with a king bed, which was very comfortable. The room was very clean, had a fridge, microwave and coffee pot. There was a separate sitting area, which felt very homey. The only negative of the room itself was the water pressure. I wasn't sure I was ever going to get the shampoo out of my hair! There is a very nice free breakfast buffet, which had eggs , biscuits, and sausage as well as the traditional free breakfast. There is only one entrance to the parking lot, and the lot is very tight, so getting into the lot and parking a large vehicle can be an issue.
Stopped in to see if they had a room without a reservation. They did, with a lower cost because of my husbands emergency surgery. They were great. Was able to extend my stay each day as needed. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Very clean. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Eggs, bacon, breakfast burritos one morning. Eggs, sausage, fried potatoes another. Biscuits & gravey, oatmeal, waffles, cold cereal and Danish rolls plus more. Very nice hotel and employees.
We have stayed hear many times. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly. For an in depth review see my review"Don't stay anywhere else" as well as several other reviews I have left about the hotel from prior stays.
Stayed at this hotel and was surprised at the cleanliness the professional and polite employees and the comfortable surrounds . Very pleasurable experience. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or personal stays.
The Best Western Plus appears to be a new hotel. The rooms seemed slightly larger than most hotel rooms and they were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The hotel is close to the highway but it was very quiet. It apparently is dog friendly, which didn't matter to me except for the guests whose dog barked as they walked past my room. The hotel provided a typical hotel breakfast with make your own waffels, cold cereals, biscuits and gravy. It seems that most hotels get their pastires from the same place where they are air dried for a day before going to the hotel. This hotel had them. If the hotel plans to serve pastries, it should be fresh stuff, not these things. Breakfast is complimentary, so I shouldn't complain, but the pastries were pretty awful. Everything esle was good and the woman who was tending to the breakfast room was very dilegent and helpful. She kept the place very clean.
The rooms were great. Hotel staff were very accommodating. They went above and beyond, and we are grateful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay around Olathe, KS.
Scheduled block of 10 rooms for a volleyball team. All parents were complimentary of their stay. Breakfast was great (and included in the room rate). Nice, clean environment -- good choice for sports teams playing in the KC area. Very nice shopping and restaurants within 10 minute drive.
good room, big size room with two TV, large size soft bed, made me had a wonderful sleep. The room is very clean, and silent even it is closed to the road. The bath is clean. The breakfast should meet everyone's taste.
We stayed for 5 days last year and then again this year and found it again to be an outstanding hotel. Excellent service--friendly staff and very comfortable room. We will definitely stay again next year when we visit family
Stayed here for a one-night work trip to KC. The location was right off of I-35 which made it easy to both get in and leave back to Wichita the next day. I didn't spend much time in the area but there was a mall across from the hotel and a large selection of restaurants and shops in the vicinity. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to someone looking to stay in the area
Our wheelchair accessible room was well designed, scrupulously clean, attractively decorated and very comfortable. We appreciated the triple sheeting on the bed and the "clean remote". The staff was courteous, pleasant, and hospitable. We found absolutely nothing to criticize in our experience. There is obvious "pride of ownership" in this hotel. That pride is well deserved. We will stay here again.
We stayed only one night for business at this Best Western but we were so surprised at how wonderful this hotel was. The man at the front desk was so professional and helpful. We sat in the lobby for a while and loved the decor, while noticing the free coffee, fax machine, computer etc. available, and the TV. We then went to our room and it was lovely as well. Everything was updated and clean. The bed was awesome and so comfortable! The breakfast was amazing and the woman serving for breakfast was darling and helpful. We will now be staying at Best Western Plus whenever we travel from now on!
We chose this hotel on a whim booking an impromptu overnight. We had heard friends mention the rewards program and thought we should join. The hotel was very nice and clean. Bed was comfy and the whole place looked recently remodeled. The staff was very pleasant, and the included breakfast was nice. Outstanding value. We will definitely stay there again.
This was our first experience in a Best Western PLUS facility, but decided to try it as the location was convenient for a family get together over Easter. Wonderfully surprised. Very good Value for the rates. Clean, comfortable, friendly, and the staff looked me in the eye as they spoke WITH me, and not AT me! Highly recommended. Mike Omaha, NE
I stay twice a week, very quite rooms, nice hot tub, good clean rooms. Helpful staff if you need anything Good job to the Staff. They want 200 Character minimum for typing, why not less to make it easy to do a review.
The hotel was clean and pleasant. The beds and choice of pillows were nice. Breakfast was also good. We would recommend this location. It is conveniently located off the hwy and a few choices of restaurants.
I'm a BW Diamond Member and as such, get a wide set of in-brand comparisons. Notwithstanding that BW (especially at the Plus level) has been stepping their game up, The Olathe KS property is one of my favorites. Great location, convenient, clean, comfortable and friendly. Highly recommended!
Awesome hotel! Very nice pool and hot tub with a unique layout. Hallways are wide and smelled clean throughout the hotel. Very modern. Excellent breakfast. We were kept awake by a truck driver next to us who let his alarm clock go off for 10 minutes at a time between snoozes. He got up at midnight, hopefully, fully refreshed as we were not.
Nice stop for a night or two. Nothing fancy but free wifi and breakfast are great. There was a little noise in hallway and you can hear doors closing but nothing that kept me awake. Lots of fast food choices close by. McDonald's and Wendy's are literally steps away.
I have stayed several times a this hotel and frequently stay at Best Western Plus properties on business. This particular property is the finest Best Western Plus properties I have experienced. The staff is great, the rooms are wonderful, the free breakfast is well presented with a wide range of choices and is always top quality.
Great two night stay! Great staff. Clean, comfortable, well maintained rooms. Housekeeping was friendly and accommodating. Pam at the front desk is wonderful! Hot breakfast was fresh and well kept. Server was friendly and efficient. We will stay again!
Check in was easy and room was very nice. I had a King Suite. It had a sofa and a TV and then there was a area for the bed and another TV. Bathroom was nice, shower worked really well. Bed and pillows were nice. Very quiet motel, didn't hear my neighbors at all! Good service over all. Will be back.
The rooms were large. It was nice at night that it was quiet. It was easy access to a lot of different areas. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would recommend staying here and will stay again in the future.
For those of us who travel for a living, this Best Western Plus is always clean and the staff is always courteous and professional. It's a great place to stay in a convenient location at a great price.
Stayed here (on business) on Feb. 14, 2016. Right on I-35 in Olathe, but very quiet. Stayed in King suite. Room very clean, well appointed (two HDTV's!!!), friendly staff (Sara!!). My only *small* issue was shower water pressure. I stayed on the second floor, and my shower water pressure was very low. I was able to get clean and it wasn't bad, but could have been better. Other than that, no problems at all.
We were driving to Texas from Ohio and needed a break. We found this place for about $100 and decided to stop. Our room had a wonderful king-sized bed with an LCD TV, then had a leather sofa in another room with another LCD TV and a large bathroom. This was one of the nicest places I have stayed...for $100! Too bad we were just driving through.
It was wonderful. ... the room was nice quite nice.... very clean and organized. ... I loved it. Was watching the Super Bowl game... Breakfast the next morning was excellent and very tasty.... It was like restaurant food except I was preparing it for myself... will most definitely book here again....
This was by far the best hotel we have stayed in. The staff was very pleasant and accomadating. I will look for Best Western Motels always! I hope there is one everywhere we go. We are retired now and will travel more!
Stayed here overnight while attending volleyball tournament nearby. This was a very nice, clean. comfortable hotel. Our room was a suite which was nice as it had two tv's and a sitting area. Also had desk, refrigerator, microwave. It was a large room and much nicer than we expected. Would return there again.
We were traveling right before Christmas and we thought it would be worth saving a few dollars to stay at this older Best Western in the middle of nowhere. Nope. The hotel just feels old and is desperate need of updating. After we had checked, we realized that my son had left his Kindle in the room. My wife called the hotel twice that day to see if housekeeping had picked it up. The manger did not even bother to check and was very dismissive, so we contacted the corporate office. Nearly a month later, no response - other than the initial e-mail acknowledging receipt of our issue. When I was a kid, Best Western was a middle-of-the-pack brand, but every one that I gave stayed in during the last decade all have had that old, tired feel to them. And this one is the final straw. My family will never stay at Best Western again.
Friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast offered. Rooms were clean and the beds was comfortable. Room was quiet. Only draw back it makes me a little nervous at staying at hotel that allows pets, is you wonder how clean they get the rooms after a pet has stayed in it. And what the pet may of done in the room. Night we stayed there were four dogs all sizes staying , some would bark when it seen another person or dog which was kind of annoying.
The Olathe BW will be my choice to stay when visiting my KS office. Thank you for the total experience it was a great trip enlarge to the BW and getting a great night sleep. I would recommend this location to any of my college's
Great staff and clean rooms. Got to the hotel a little early but she got me right to my room. I preferred first floor and she did that too. Location is perfect next to 135. I will check into the Best Western Suites more often. This was my first time staying at one.
Great hotel, and good value. We had a spacious suite which was clean and comfortable, with a fridge and microwave. Parking and WiFi were free, and the hotel has a pool The staff were pleasant, and a hot and cold breakfast buffet was included in our rate. The breakfast room was a good size so didn't get crowded. Minor point - I would have liked more shelf space in the bathroom, but otherwise everything was perfect.
This was the first time my 3 kids ever stayed in a hotel, they where in love. The nice thing I liked is that my oldest is Autistic and even he was able to enjoy the stay and not feel overwhelmed with everything going on in the hotel. Will stay here again when driving through next time
Best Western PLUS Olathe Hotel & Suites, Olathe, KANSAS has the cleanest rooms I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. It was a pet friendly hotel and you would have never known it from how clean everything smelled.
Stayed here to be in a central location to KC, Lawrence, and Ottawa, Kansas. Hotel is right off of I-35 and close to many stores, restaurants, theaters, etc. Clean and comfortable with a great breakfast (breakfast burritos are great). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Outstanding value. This is my third stay at this hotel this year and I have not been disappointed yet.
The Best Western Olathe is my home when I go to Kansas City. I have been there many times and can always trust in my room being clean, my breakfast ready in the morning and Service with a smile. I love is place!
The room was pleasantly homey and clean. There was a little area to watch TV and the bed was in a separate area, also with a TV. MIcrowave and fridge were good too. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay.
This hotel is very nice, the room is very comfortable and extremely clean enjoyed our stay very much. Quiet, peaceful time very enjoyable. Only trouble was the hot breakfast items were cold. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.
I've stayed at this facility many times as I do business in the area. There are probably a few alternatives in the area maybe even closer to the client but this BW Plus is consistently clean and comfortable. In watching the 2 - 3 star hotel market, competition is rising, I'd recommend you try this BW when in the area. One hint... The breakfast eggs are never really restaurant hot, fix your plate first, cover with another plate and zap in the microwave for 30 seconds, piping hot and melts the cheese!
The room was very clean and comfortable. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed. Very conveniently located. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast had a great variety and was tasty. Staff was very friendly. No complaints
Been there for one night. The reception was ok. The room was definitely clean, with a good desk for working and wi-fi stable. Morning breakfast was fine. It's 5mi for the Olathe restaurant area. I liked it. Thanks to the staff for the hospitality.
I stay here at least 20 nights a year. Don't even consider any other hotels. Now they are completely updating the hotel. Lobby completed and they tell me they are starting on the rooms. I am satisfied with the rooms now. Love having a sitting area with an extra television. Easy access to the highway........
I was very pleased with this hotel. The room was large, updated, and clean. The beds were actually comfortable. The breakfast included was probably one of the best I've had at a hotel breakfast, lots of variety of hot and cold foods. The lobby was tastefully decorated with Christmas decorations. Breakfast attendant was friendly. The front desk staff seemed confused when we asked for a receipt for our stay, stating they cannot give us one for some reason. The pool was not up and running, but fortunately we arrived so late, that we would not have used it anyway. There is a train nearby that I heard a few times, but was not bothersome. It is conveniently located off of I35, with restaurants right next door, and it seemed like a nice, safe area. Bottomline: I would recommend this hotel, and I would stay here again.
The hotel staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. The room was spacious and very comfortable bed. However do not stay in room 116 unless you want to hear every person check in/out of the hotel and every conversation had by anyone in the lobby or the smoking area just outside your window.
We have stayed here many times. Recently the hotel remodeled the lobby and tweaked the rooms. To tell you the truth the hotel seemed new and I surprised they felt the need to change anything. We love this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and are the cleanest we ever stayed in. You can't go wrong selecting this as your hotel of choice when in Olathe, Kansas. Check out my other reviews where I go into more depth about the amenities .
Great location next to freeway, food and shopping. Great check-in by employee Ken. He was very pleasant and accomodating. He also gave us suggestions for dinner and came to our room to show us how to handle the drain in our bathroom sink. He definitely went out of his way to help us! Unfortunately, this property was full of guests including many children who were running up and down the halls without supervision. They were loud and noisy, it was around 5-6 pm. Many were not wearing shoes and socks and were playing in the stairwell near the pet area. Too bad. Anyways, it was an okay room but I wouldn't pay the money again for this suite. It was still very small and next to the elevator which made alot of noise in the room.
This is my 3rd stay at this Best Western and it clean, in a safe convenient area, it is up to date and affordable. Microwave and refrigerator in each room is nice. Nice location close to lots of places to eat and the highway. Staff is nice and includes a free hot meal.
this was a last minute booking for the soccer tournament for our team by our team parent. She had nothing but complimentary things to say about the people she worked with on the phone to get such a large number of rooms for our team. The rooms looked recently remodeled and were very well prepared for our visit. We had a very nice tournament knowing we didin't have to worry about our sleeping amenities.
We chose this location to be outside of the city but near enough to tour the city. The breakfast had everything you could want and the area was kept very clean. It was in a large area and well decorated. Personnel were available and nice. We would come back to this hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel 5 or 6 times now (at least 2 times a year) for work. I have never had a bad experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone. They are constantly improving it for the better.
I called this hotel and asked if I could change our reservations from Friday and Saturday to Saturday and Sunday; since we would not be able to be there on Friday evening. The man said "No changes, it's NASCAR weekend and we have a minimum 2-night stay." I told him "OK, we will keep the room so hold it for me. I realize I have to pay for both nights, but we won't be there on Friday evening. We cannot get there until Saturday as one of the guys has to work Friday evening." When we got there on Saturday they said you did not check in on Friday so you forfeited the room I told them I had called on Thursday. They had record of me calling in their book; however, they rented the room out to another party. They said sorry no refund, you were not here. No refund, No room, no more Best Western for me!! So be VERY Careful if you book in advance on a busy weekend.
I was there for NASCAR. Literally everyone i saw that worked had a smile on their face and was willing to help any way they could. The young man that worked over night even printed out directions for me when i needed it. I enjoy staying at a place where people care and are kind hearted. It was located in an easy place to find. Breakfast was amazing. I love hot breakfasts at nice hotels. I will be back to this one.
For the price the hotel style with not inner hallway was good. Room was clean and outside area well kept. Breakfast a bit more than expected in what was offered with adequate seating in breakfast room. Bed was very comfortable.
We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Olathe during the recent NASCAR race weekend. The staff was helpful and friendly, our room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was very well stocked and the ladies were attentive and pleasant.
We could tell there had been remodeling, which all is very well done. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon to relax and enjoy the football games. Never did the television come on and also there was around a 2 hour power outage too. We were told several times a television tech was called and would be there to fix it and sorry for the delay. It was never repaired until we were checking out and was told we would be given a discount. We got our bill with no discount and had to pressure the morning clerk for a discount. We should have been told the tv would not be repaired and could have made a decision to go elsewhere before 9 p.m. We will stay here again if in this area but hope to be better informed about outages.
The price was steep. We stayed in a 2 queen bed room with a pull out sleeper sofa. The room had a desk, mini fridge, and microwave. There was a room divider separating the queen beds from a sofa sleeper, coffee table, and second tv. Th bathroom was adequate size with one sink and tub shower combination. The soap and shampoo was in a dispenser on the wall. The carpet was very dark and the lighting was by the new CFL bulbs making the room seem very dimmed. There was a free breakfast. They had Oj and several other juices and enhanced waters to choose from, waffles, egg/omelet thing, hash browns, toast, English muffins and bagels, danishes, bananas, yogurt, and coffee. Parking was ample. There is a McDonalds right next door and a Chili's Restaurant across the street. It is a little tough to see at night from the main road as it is tucked behind the McDonalds and across from a car dealership. The beds were very comfortable! There was a man at the front desk that was a man of many hats! He was awesome. He not only worked the front desk, but he vacuumed the entry way, helped clean the breakfast area, and was always doing something more than just standing behind the front desk! He did a great job!!!
We reserved a large block of rooms multiple days for our out-of-town wedding guests. Everyone was extremely pleased with the hotel. They commented on how nice and clean the property was, the variety of hot items and food on the breakfast buffet, and the comfort of the rooms with the pillowtop mattresses. I cannot say "thank you" enough to Pam, hotel general manager, for always being available and ready to assist as needed; Mara and Ken at front desk for the fast and friendly check in/out service they provided; the housekeeping department for quickly turning over the rooms and having them ready for some guests to check in early; and the kitchen staff for keeping the buffet replenished with food for this large group. It is usually hard to make everyone happy...but this staff seemed to do just that! I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE PLEASED!!
One of the exercise machines otherwise the fitness room was good. Showers in the morning were steamy, non of the rooms (we stayed in 2 during our stay) had a fan. The lighting in the double queen room was also poor.
Very nice, very clean, helpful staff. There was several choices of eating establishments within a fairly small radius. Close to the expressway. I've never stayed in a Best Western before, I was pleasantly surprised!
The guy that checked us in asked us to unload our weapons. We were both in a soft uniform. Other than that the place was very nice. I don't think i will stay at a place that does not value my safety. Hoepully they fix this problem. I would not recomend this place to LEO in for training. Very said.
Great value. The rooms are very clean and up to date. Good wi-fi. Front desk staff was very friendly. The gentleman who checked us in was very kind and very eloquent. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely stay here again.
This is not the top of the range City hotel, but a chain hotel that is kept clean with friendly staff. Our room was spacious and was split into two areas, the bedroom and a small sitting area. Each area had its own TV and the room had, coffee making facilities, fridge, microwave and free wifi. The area is about 20 minutes or so from Kansas City. We like these hotels outside the cities, you normally get free parking and breakfast. The breakfast here was more than adequate and there is coffee on all the time in the lobby if you do not want to make any in your room. There was also a good sized pool and fitness centre. This a good business and overnight hotel nothing more but it comes well presented.
This place was great to us and very clean. The breakfast was good too. The kids enjoyed the indoor swimming pool as it was pretty cool outside. The wifi was great and the bathroom was awesome. The fat screen tv was good and the beds were comfortable.
