Best Western Hotel Kimba Lodge Motel, Maryborough

You can always be guaranteed a comfortable, clean stay, with friendly staff. Comfortable bed, modern large bathroom, very clean. A must stay. The only place I will stay while in Maryborough. There is also room service with great food.

Good place to stay. Updated rooms do not reflect how it looks from the outside. Would have given 4 stars but for two things: Firstly, eye watering smell of bleach on entry. Had keep the bathroom exhaust fan going. Can only assume there was an industrial clean after a murder or deceased guest not found for a week or so. Secondly, the shower is about 600 x 600mm - it's very small !! So if you're a small statured psychopath and into random, ritualised killings this is probably the place for you.

Rooms are cosy… Beds are comfy… Pub next door that offers room service is awesome… Friendly staff… Laundry service… Couldn't be happier… Hopefully my next visit will be in summer so I can use the pool! Thank you!

We stayed here for 2 nights, the room was almost new, so our stay was lovely. Fast internet, comfy bed and the staff we dealt with were very helpful. We had dinner both nights at the hotel next door which was very convenient. The meals were excellent.

Lovely renovated ensuites, comfy beds, nice complimentary toiletries. Car parking was full at end of night unfortunately. Nice silent airconditioning, good block out curtains. Convenient location to entertainment venues.

From moment you walked in the reception door, you are met with a friendly local smile. They give you advice on where to dine and drink nearby. The room was clean, comfortable for a one night stay but if I had the chance I'd stay for more nights. And the beds & pillows like sleeping on a cloud!

Kimba lodge is fantastic, beds are so comfortable. Staff are awesome. The place is the best in Maryborough Qld I can not find a fault with the place. Having the White Lion hotel next door is fantastic, great food and again great staff.

Pleasant surprise, after McNevins & Carriers were both booked out I reluctantly booked Kimber Lodge. I have now found my new go to accommodation when staying in Maryborough. New modern rooms, large tv, king sized very comfy mattress, I also enjoyed great meals at the White Loin pub right next door, the Tuesday night ribs special was perfect. The dark dingy hallway to the room was slightly off putting, but it made up for it once I made it to the room.

Late check in was easy, wonderful communication from staff. No weekend hot breakfast option currently available, however continental offerings were available if organised in time the day prior. Wonderful water pressure and really hot water in the shower. The room and amenities felt more like a hotel than a motel. Would stay here again.

Nice accommodation for an emergency stay. Was trying to head home to Brisbane but got stuck due to flood waters at Gympie. Nice clean accommodation, easy to get to and helpful staff. Would recommend to others and stay here again if in region.

The staff were wonderful and the rooms are just want you want after a long day travelling. Had a wonderful nights sleep, the bed was very comfortable. Very happy with the cleanliness of the room . Would and have recommended this place to others.

Really lovely rooms and helpful and accommodating staff. Would easily recommend and stay here again. The bathroom was really well done and the water pressure and temperature were wonderful. Great offering of in room amenities and the price of the mini bar was very reasonable.

Stay at the Kimba for a night & it was lovely. The Room was modern & seemed newly refurbished & was a really pleasant stay. King bed was comfortable & even had a mint chocolate on our side tables which you don't see much anymore. If ever in Maryborough again we would stay at the Kimba.

I spent 2 nights at the Best Western Kimba Lodge Maryborough and was very pleasantly surprised with the standard of accommodation here. Lovely, friendly staff. Clean, quiet, newly renovated room, a comfortable bed and with ample table and desk room for my needs. A fabulous location, with an easy 8 minute walk into the centre of town. Maryborough is full of interesting history and well worth a few days stopover. I would highly recommend this motel AND this town.

Upon settling the bill the staff became instantly rude and demanded payment when I questioned the bill. I had thought I'd payed upfront and just wanted to check before paying twice. I was immediately spoken to rudely and payment was demanded. I would never stay there again.

Visitors to this site should be aware that this guest made his booking via an online agent with terms requiring payment during the stay. We regret that he became agitated and disputed that he needed to pay us for his stay. We behaved professionally and courteously throughout and we are proud of our great reputation for good and friendly service as shown by the many other reviews on this site.

Beautiful rooms with everything in it you need. Very comfortable beds with exquisite linen. Receptionist went out of her way to get us coffee machine at our request. Nice little outdoor settings for morning breakfast. Microwave and hairdryer. Very impressive for a country motel. White Lion fantastic for dinner, also beautifully renovated and just next door. She even let us leave our car there for the day after we checked out. It was a treat to stay and we will definately come back again.

Clean, quiet, modern, friendly staff. Everything we needed and more. We were very pleased with out stay, the receptionist was so lovely, the room was very clean and the bed was a dream. The room was well setup and very clean. They sanitise the room and the likes of remotes before arrival. The bed was really good and we had a very good nights sleep. The whole room was clean inc the bathroom. The staff at front desk helpful. We would stay again.

The staff make you feel so welcome even though we stayed one night . The room was well appointed and spotlessly clean . Attention to detail with chocolates on bedside tables . Bed was so comfortable and linen crisp an clean . Can't rate the stay highly enough. 6 out of 5 . We dined at the White Lion Hotel next door . The staff are great and the meals were YUMMO . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The Kimba would be the best motel in Maryborough, can not fault it and I stay there on average 60 times a year. The staff are great. Cleanliness is fantastic. Rooms are great. Beds are so comfortable. I always look forward too staying at the Kimba.

All staff most helpful and pleasant. Unit clean and well appointed. Design of building allowed for all units to be private. Car parking handy with mostg under cover. Site of Motel handy to central business area.

We had an opportunity to stay in Best Western Kimba Lodge Motel for two days. We arrived very late and still got a room. We had a small dog with us and that wasn't a problem. The lady at the reception was nice too. Our room was tidy and had a small balcony. The motel is almost fully renovated and together with a good service they offer I can recommend it to anyone.

This motel is always in fantastic condition. Clean tidy and affordable. Easy to book - but book direct so all of the funds go to the owners not the big organizations. Keep it local and support local businesses

Four of us (in two rooms) stayed here for one night. Just perfect - very quiet room, really comfy bed and pillows, lovely decor, huge TV , friendly and quick check in. Just what the doctor ordered. Situated close to the park and river and quite a few choices of eating places.

This was just a one night stay but was quite "ordinary" The motel could really do with an upgrade. Room is small and very basic. The photos on line make it look better than it is. Stayed the next night in Gladstone at a very much better hotel which was 2/3 of the price.

I stayed one night while travelling through. Recent renovations had been competed which made the rooms very comfortable. The lady at reception was very friendly and accommodating. I arrived late and left very early but had no issues with the room. The car park has very small parks and there was a bunch of 4x4's in there at the time which made it difficult to fit. There's not a lot of on site parking and it seemed to fill very quickly, with some people parking in the reception driveway. There is street parking out the front. There's a service station right across the road and food/grocery stores 5 minutes away.

The room was lovely, clean and has nice decor. The bed and pillows were super comfy (and my kids loved the bikkies and milo)! The hotel was in a great location, being walking distance to Woolies and to Queen's Park so we could get some daily exercise and also some knowledge of Maryborough. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Travelling for over a month and the beds and shower were just amazing... The staff were super friendly and extremely accomodating. The parking was available off street and felt secure, there is a bottle shop and pub next door which are owned by the same owners or hotel. Location was central and close to most things

Travelling north for a holiday away we pre booked to stay here. Apart from minor issue of shortage of car parks we were well satisfied. The room was comfortable, excellent air con & fan, spacious bathroom. We sat outside in the late evening but did not use the pool. Pleasing to find a more than decent bed to sleep in. Limited food options, well it was Christmas Day but Hervey Bay is not far away and we found a friendly Indian restaurant that did decent food at a moderate price. Overall we would stay here again. Stayed 3 nights. Room was a good size, bed comfortable and bathroom clearly looked like it had been refurbished quite recently. Bathroom very clean, shower has great water flow. Plenty of powerpoints in room for electronic devices and charging. Coffee making and other facilities (plates and cutlery, microwave, iron). Nice pool. Pub with good restaurant next-door, as well as a nice restaurant (Sails) across the road. Local bus service to Hervey Bay (route 705) passes out front (bus stop about 100m away - ask at reception). Overall a nice comfortable stay and will stay again next time I'm in Maryborough.

We stayed at this hotel 1 night, we wished we had stayed longer! The beds were Devine, soft, comfortable. The room was quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed. It is next to a pub so we went there for dinner and had an awesome meal. We felt safe and at home in this hotel. The reception team was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel at Maryborough A++++

Be sure to get firm email confirmation if you book. Some staff seem to be struggling and you could end up with them not even knowing you're arriving. Don't seem overly concerned at inconveniencing guests. They just blame another staff member (and these are the management!). Gave us the suite number when we booked - but would not send email to confirm. They then denied that they would have done that...although the number matched their only suite. Bizarre!

We apologise for the mistake that was made when you booked with us meaning you got a slightly different (but not cheaper) room type. When you arrived, we did tell you that the room that you were first allocated was not available due to an admin error and offered you a two room family unit for the same price. This at the time was accepted by you. Whilst we do take responsibility for the mistake, you were happy to accept another room. If you were not happy with the second option we would have been more than happy to refund you your money and refer you to another motel. It is most regrettable that we were subject to defamatory and disgusting personal verbal abuse twice over the course of two days. This abuse is not acceptable and is unprecedented in the many years of kind and friendly customer service from our team, as shown by the other reviews on this page. Driving fatigue had me checking in here instead of continuing into the night. Check in was very friendly. The room was fantastic, spacious and nicely furnished. Meals are available at the newly refurbished pub next door.

We stayed at The Best Western Kimba Lodge overnight when we couldn't find accommodation in Hervey Bay, and what a great choice it was! It only took us 25 minutes to drive to Hervey Bay, it was so easy.. The room was renovated and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable the shower was hot and the bathroom modern.. It was so nice to have a room with more than 1 chair, we had 2 desk chairs and a occasional chair in our room. Most hotels only have 1 chair so someone has to sit on the bed. They offer tea ,coffee and fresh milk in the fridge, plates, cutlery and a toaster . There is a pub next door or a Woolworths within a 5 minute walk away. We stayed in Room 101 on the ground floor and would happily stay here again and highly recommend this Motel to other travellers.

A very clean and tidy motel with good solid old fashioned service. It is in an ideal position close to site. Beds are very comfortable and the rooms have been fitted with good quality "quiet" air conditioning. Shower water is hot ! They also own the quiet hotel beside which has recently been newly renovated with a large restaurant to serve the motel - food and service top quality and affordable!

Nice room, convenient location, close to the city centre. Wifi good. Toaster and Microwave in the room. Comfortable bed. Television good and included Foxtel channels. Room was clean and bathroom good. Amenities were of a quality standard.

Nice motel room smaller than some we had had, but adequate for our needs on a car touring holiday. A 10 minute walk into the centre of Maryborough which as the birthplace of P.L.Travers the author of Mary Poppins is quite an interesting place.

Modern, very clean and tidy, great service by all. Close to town. Value for money. Staff were friendly on arrival and room service was excellent. Car park and outdoor areas clean, pool area was well maintained. Fully recommend.

The motel is only a short distance from the CBD, but only a block away from Queens Park which fronts onto the Mary River, and the Brolga Theatre and Convention Centre. We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment which was very clean, quiet and spacious. There is a tv in each bedroom as well as the lounge, Foxtel and free Wi-Fi. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

After having a horrendous experience with another motel in town, McNevins were just amazing! Booked us in to a family suite right away, freshly renovated with all the luxuries. Pool is clean and a lovely space! Restaurant is very well priced and the management is just amazing. Honestly I can not complain about a single thing. Extremely happy with our stay and will absolutely be back on our next trip to Maryborough.

We stayed here for two nights in December. Check in was easy and painless. The room was clean, fresh and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect for our needs.

We stayed in Maryborough for 1 night and were impressed with the newly renovated room which was complemented with new furnishings, an extremely comfortable bed with crisp new linen and fresh bath towels. The motel room was not large but it was so well appointed that we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Maryborough was an interesting place to visit and we loved the wharf area and the historical buildings that date back to the gold rush in the late 1800s.

I have been booked into Kimba Lodge several times on work trips and been extremely happy. The hotel is sparkling clean and the management and staff are very helpful and friendly. The little extra touches like complimentary water and little chocolates are lovely. Best of all the beds are seriously comfortable and are triple sheeted with crisp white sheets and plenty of fluffy pillows. The pub next door serves fresh yummy meals and the best lamb cutlets i have ever tasted!

The motel is nicely renovated, clean room and very comfortable bed! Bathroom and shower mould free! Did not smell old or musty which is a bonus in these old motels! I can Highly recommend this motel!!

The room was comfortable, great shower, nice bed and the staff were lovely. The place was quiet despite being on a major road to Hervey Bay. There is a pub/restaurant next door and a restaurants close by. Woolworths is in easy walking distance as in the town and museums. The hotel is very busy. I would stay here again.

I had a three night stay at Kimba Lodge as part of a work trip to Maryborough. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and the water pressure great. The Kimba is associated with the White Lion hotel next door which has friendly service and great meals. Highly recommended.

The rooms are small but were very clean and tidy and met our requirments .This is not a new or a swank motel but a basic good and friendly , clean place to stay in Maryborough. The romms had been refurbished tastefully. It sits on the highway on the way to Hervey Bay just on the edge of the town. Wi Fi worled well. Probably as good or if not better than it gets in Maryborough .

Our Stay here was just nice, room was clean and tidy however a little on the smallish side and positioning of room meant there was not much light, drew curtains back to find a small table & chairs with an angled wall which meant little light. Had dinner in adjoining hotel and charged meals back to room however on check out what we had ordered and what we were charged was wrong. Would have helped if reception had offered to rectify, didn't happen. We elected to stay elsewhere for our second night. Maybe would stay again.

Quiet location In a small town. Tidy and clean room Modern decor with a seating area out the side door. You can hear a bit of noise from other rooms The car parking is tight Tv reception is good. Interesting set up with a corridor and the rooms off that. 7/10 but maybe my standards are high. I would possibly stay here again?

This was my second stay here and like the first time i stayed the service here is friendly. They take pride in business and you can see it in quality of their rooms. The rooms and clean, beds are comfortable and the remote controls are sanitized. The mini bar is reasonably priced and not over expensive like other places. I'll be staying back here when i come back to to visit again soon.

Was very disappointed when we approached the lady at reception regarding the problem we had of the very strong smell and fumesin our room. She stated "You need to tell me when you are allergic to everything". She made this statement from me telling her that I was having trouble breathing.My partner said you really need to go have a look its not good he told her that he to was feeling unwell. Her response was " I don't have to and I won't ". She also stated that her cleaners only use domestos and exit mould. I tried to let her know that when using those products it needs to be well rinsed off and used only in a well ventilated area which it clearly wasnt the case. We ended up leaving and got charged for accommodation that we did not use.We have stayed in many motels and never experienced any problems with there cleaning products and have never came across someone that is so rude and abrupt.

This was one of the motels booked in advance for our northern trip. The room was very up to standard. The beds were comfortable and the room had a friendly look about it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The motel was very quiet and safe with the entrance door locked after certain hours. Would fully highly recommend this establishment.

Beautiful freshly renovated. Clean, quiet and safe. Comfortable beds and lovely large bathroom. Fridge was packed with goodies too. No need to leave the room for snacks. Pool was clean with a bbq and tables. Very friendly hosts and best of all pet friendly. Highly recommend this place even without a puppy

Travelling through and needed a stop for the night. Did not regret our choice. Met with a smile and friendly chat. Room was big, very clean and tidy - plenty of room for us and our daughter. Have stayed in four places over the last fortnight and comfiest beds by far were here. Hot showers and no noise is exactly what we needed and got. Highly recommend staying here.

The apartment was modern and updated and so comfortable. Fabulous service, they provided us an upgrade for an upper floor room when requested. Great restaurant just next door for dinner. Was a wonderful stay for a one night stopover.

Husband and I travelled to Maryborough overnight for work, taking our medium-sized dog with us. We had a totally renovated room, spotlessly clean, with a lovely little balcony, towards the back of the property - and there was no road noise as promised! We felt thoroughly welcome, which is rare when travelling with a larger dog. It's a real treat to be able to stay in such a quality property with a dog. At most dog friendly motels, you're assigned the oldest room with stained carpet and furniture, and an overwhelming smell of air freshener. We cannot recommend this property highly enough and will definitely be returning when visiting the region again. The White Lion Hotel next door also welcomed our dog when we dined in the rear courtyard area (even bringing him a bowl of water). There's quite a few businesses out there that could learn a lot from both of these properties.

Needed a place to stay on our way to Rockhampton. Rang ahead and the lovely lady stayed up for us so we could check in. It doesn't look much from the outside but the rooms are recently refurbished modern rooms with everything you could need. We had a very comfortable bed, tea and biscuits and little chocolate mint. Shower was great. We only really slept there and left early the next morning but perfect for our needs.

Visited Maryborough for the weekend and stayed at the Kimba Lodge. Nice modern clean rooms, very quiet and very friendly service. Close to most things in town. Would definitely stay again when we visit next time.

Stayed here for 10 nights for a work trip. Motel was booked through the company that I worked for. Must say pleasantly surprised...and can't fault the place. It doesn't look much from the outside but all the rooms have been refurbished (appears recently). Surprisingly quiet considering it's on the main road to Hervey Bay. You can order breakfast if you wish (I didn't) or there are plates/cutlery and a microwave available in your room as well as the usual coffee/tea. Small bottles of milk x 2 replaced daily - which is a change to the tiny milk portions you usually get. Hotel right next door for meals from Tues to Sat (also did not try so can't comment). Motel is very close to town...10min walk, not far from Brolga Theatre (5 mins), Woolworths (5mins). Bed was very comfortable, air cond .(heat/cold) works great. Pool and bbq area on site. Staff are very friendly and it is very clean...cleaners do a fantastic job and the after dinner mints are a nice touch. Basically a very comfortable stay for a great price. Only downside...and it is not a biggie is the car parks are a little small (if your in a large 4wd). Will definitely stay again! Had the added bonus of the Relish Food and Wine festival on. Highly recommend.

Excellent Price and service, clean rooms and good location to the Marybourough CBD. My only problem is Hotels Check out is at 10am and check in 2pm Why start cleaning rooms at 7am when people are trying to sleep.

We stayed two nights in this motel, our room was on the ground floor with easy access, An older motel which has been given a modern fresh makeover. Good pool area. Clean and comfortable. Easy walk to Queens park and the centre of town . Even though there is no smoking in the rooms, our ground floor unit had a table and chairs at the rear where smokers can use (provided they close the door). Would stay here again.

We rang up at last moment due to stormy night to stay in Maryborough instead of free camping in our camper- van, with our small dog. We found the staff welcoming and the room spotless also our small dog was welcome to stay.

this hotel gave what it promised. Everything we needed was provided and we have no complaints. Room well appointed and only 10 minute walk to CBD and 5 minutes to food outlets. It is also very quiet even though on Hervey Bay access road. It has a pool although we didnt use it.

We had an unscheduled stop here for 3 nights. The bathrooms are brand new. The rooms comfortable and stylish. The staff are super friendly and obliging. It's pet friendly and can do your washing there. We couldn't fault the place. They made a difficult situation a whole lot better. Walking distance to a very interesting little town.

I stay at the Kimba Lodge on a fairly regular basis. Ann and her team are always very kind, cheerful and happy to assist in any way possible. The rooms are very nicely appointed and, I believe, under renovation or recently completed. Ann takes great pride in this property. On the single occasion that I had an issue, I simply asked if it could be resolved at the time and it was, and very quickly. Some of the complaints that people make are ridiculous. I am waiting to read a comment that the water was too wet, the air had too much oxygen it or maybe that the fridge didn't keep my pizza warm. Get real, you're not paying $1000.00 a night. I have tried some of the other options in town before discovering the Kimba Lodge and let me tell you they were nowhere near as good! I would highly recommend staying at the Kimba Lodge. If you have any problems, don't write about them, let Ann and the team know. If they don't know it's broken, they can't fix it.

We had an enjoyable stay, the room was spotless, bathroom very clean and plenty of hot water. Even the TV remote and air controls were santised. WiFi, Foxtel and air con all available. The breakfast was yummy and will return again. looking forward to seeing the renovated bathrooms which was happening while we were there.

A lovely room that was very comfortable and clean (even the remote controls were sanitised!). Great shower, good WiFi and a very quiet air con!. We only stayed one night but would recommend this motel.

I've reviewed this place before (positively), but on this trip they even exceeded MY expectations - just wonderful. Room 213 which is actually a double bedroom despite that I had only booked a room for 2; clean; spacious; inviting and so comfortable. Once again, from check-in to check-out I was so impressed. The remotes are all sanitized; the staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried, plus you get the basics of a mini-bar minus the booze at a realistic, fair price. One of the best stay's I've had :-)

Based on the excellent reviews and photos showing great looking rooms I decided to book a room at this hotel for the weekend. The reviews were right the room was large, comfortable and very clean. I also appreciated the late check in. I expected to have to use a night box but instead there was someone there to welcome me and provide a rundown of how to access my room and where to find everything. But that's were my positive comments stop. I made my booking on September 26 and as I had found a cheaper price on booking.com, admittedly by only $1. I rang the hotel as per their advertised guarantee to beat any cheaper price by 5%. The lady who took my call denied any knowledge of the price guarantee and became quite rude when I mentioned that it was advertised on both their website and Facebook page. I had some screen captures that I offered to email her but the lady was quite adamant that the price provided on their online booking system was their best price. I ended up agreeing to pay their online price. I also queried their cancellation policy and the lady again became hostile asking if I was thinking of cancelling, I told her no, I only wanted to know just in case. I asked for a confirmation email but was told there was no need and my booking was guaranteed. On checkout I was then charged $8 more than what was agreed. When I queried this I was rudely told that the price being charged was their best price. As I did not have an email I couldn't disprove her, lesson learnt. Also on the first night there were no car parks available and I was required to park in the driveway. Would I stay here again? Perhaps but only if I got an email locking in the price, it's not about the money it's about the principal. You can't advertise one thing and do another – It's against the law.

I do feel that we kept to the quote as made to you when you booked and our reservation system should ensure that the tariffs are the same in all channels, although they will fluctuate up and down with demand. Had to stay in Maryborough for eisteddfod purposes. Really struggled to find accommodation that seemed reasonable. We were able to book in early which was great. Lack of parking was a problem especially when we were coming home later in the night. The parks were also very narrow. We were told if there were no parks available we could park on the street or at the hotel next door which we didn't feel safe doing. When we arrived the housekeeping staff were at the entrance to the accommodation having a break which was fine but we had to walk through the centre of them whilst they were smoking which was very unpleasant. No one apologised or looked to move away. The rooms themselves were clean and adequate for a nights stay. The after dinner mint was a nice touch.

We were less than impressed to find this accommodation doesn't have any meals available besides breakfast. The odours coming from the bathroom were disgusting and difficult to eliminate as when the balcony door was opened the neighbours deck and living area was within full view. After finally getting to sleep having had to put up with lots of weird noises I was awoken at 8:30am by a lass wanting to clean the room. CLEAN the rooms after checkout !!!! Thinking we were rid of this Fawlty Towers type operation they phoned after we had left wanting a credit card number because their Best Western Card machine wasn't working. Not our problem.

We do not have a restaurant open for dinner but there are options nearby which are popular with our guests. This is our go to hotel when we visit Maryborough, The bed was nice and firm, the room was very clean and they leave little chocolate mints on the bedside table. This is one of our favourite Best Westerns. I would definitely recommend this place.

The motel is on the main highway in Maryborough...close proximity to shops, parks, walks and the river...a small motel which we found to be really well run...nothing was too much trouble...right next door to a local hotel that served great meals ...everything in Maryborough is so full of nostalgia and kimba Lodge is right in the heart of it ...don't forget to do the town walk ...a free guided tour of the history of Maryborough really informative...Really traumatic experience on the road...sent to Kimba Lodge Motel by our insurance company to fix what we had to get fixed..spent a couple of nights in a normal motel suite...Thanks to Ann who looked after us sooooo well...she has worked a deal with our insurance company for us to stay in an apartment instead where we can cook our own meals..Thank you Ann you have made really bad negative into a big positive...thank you for taking some of the stress out of our life...you and your staff have have been amazing and supportive ....a big hug to Ann and the staff..it was really sad to say goodbye....will be back.

I stay here a lot. This is possibly the best hotel in regional Queensland. The rooms are very clean and in Maryborough that means something. Ann (the Manager) ensures all the rooms have snacks and bottle water. There's a microwave and plates so you can cook in. A BBQ is by the pool for guests to use. The rooms are recently renovated. There's no road noise either. Seriously a delight for those of us who have to spend time away from home.

We booked 3 rooms as part of a family trip. It is an older style hotel but very well cared for and hyper clean. Blankets and even the remote controls have been sanitised. Our rooms were comfortable and it was a very convenient location. One of us was assigned a room with bathroom facilities for someone with a disability. It was a little awkward - but good to know it is available for someone who needed it.

This hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Walking distance to the Brolga theatre which was where I needed to be. Even a chocolate on the pillow each night! Microwave and kettle in the room and a nice pub with out for reading area next door

Was in town for the Maryborough Music Conference. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. Our rooms (two rooms for our group) were clean and extremely comfortable. Love that that there was real fresh milk with plenty of tea, coffee, milo and biscuits. Great flat screen TV and air conditioner. Cooked breakfast is available if wanted (by order the night before). I had the yummy eggs and bacon. The bathroom had an amazing hot shower with more then enough toiletries and daily replaced fluffy towels. The bed was really comfy. It was great after a long day at the conference. I had no trouble sleeping. My friends has the two bedroom apartment. It was great for cooking meals and just relaxing. Thanks to all the staff at Kimba Lodge Maryborough. I had a wonderful stay.

The room was nice / modern and very clean. It was quite large and had a balcony. I stayed while in Maryborough for business and it was a good location for me. The best thing was the staff, I would stay again just because they were so nice.

Older style motel, tastefully and professionally refurbished with no detail overlooked. Room was very clean and well-appointed. Beats plenty of big city hotels I've stayed in hands down. Great proximity to Brolga Theatre, Queens Park and historic precinct.

The wife and I stayed here for a stop over for an night on our way north, the Motel has plenty of parking some is under cover, the parking lot is in between the office and the accommodation block, we had a room on the top floor which was of good size and very clean and well set out,the bathroom also had plenty of room as well.The bed was very comfortable not like some Motel/Hotels beds that leave a lot to be desired.Plenty of TV channels to pick from also. Thanks to Ann and her staff for a great over night stay.

Recommended to me by a work colleague on a trip to Hervey Bay, I can only say that whilst it was 20 minutes drive to my appointments, this motel was the most welcoming, clean and pleasant that I've ever had. Highly recommend it.

We enjoyed a one night stay here. The room was clean and the bathroom was a good size. There were tea/coffee supplies, fridge, etc to make a quick breakfast. There was a seat outside but someone had left an ashtray and can of beer on it which was a bit disappointing. My husband moved it off but someone put it back on the seat! The pool was refreshing and there were towels in the room for pool use. We walked a few blocks to a nearby grocery store. The pub beside the motel was closed on the night of our visit. The room we were in was well organized, decorated and cared for by the staff.

We stayed only one night on a quick visit to catch up with old friends. The room was quiet, very modern and well decorated, the mattresses and pillow super confortable, all meticulously clean, quiet but powerful air conditioner. The bathroom has not been renovated, but everything worked perfectly - the shower was super powerful and wonderful! Very friendly staff both at check in and check out. It was the first time we stayed at the Best Western Kimba Lodge,but it won't be the last. That will be our choice of where to stay in future visits to Maryborough.

I always try to get a room here when I travel to Maryborough. It is always scrupulously clean and well presented. I love the fact that the room's decor is warm and inviting, the bed dressing is sumptuous and the linens crisp and immaculately white. The showers are full flowing - not restricted like many others- and seem to have endless hot water. Staff are warm and genuinely friendly. I always have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on pané bread for breakfast washed down with pot-brewed black tea. The best thing is that you won't be interrupted by traffic noise as the motel is set well back from the main road and the block construction kills any sounds that make it to the building.

I spent 4 perfect days at Kimba Lodge. From the moment I arrived, I was happy, as the place smelt great! So spotlessly clean. The room was beautifully appointed, provided everything that you could possibly need. Also, the quietness of the motel was complete. The car didn't move, the 4 days I was there, as everything in Maryborough is in walking distance of Kimba Lodge. The staff are so very friendly, it is next door to a superb restaurant and it is pet friendly. What more could a traveller ask for?

Another great stay at this little gem of a motel in Maryborough with the charge back set up for the pub me t door for meals and drinks, all you have to do is walk next door. Some of the most stylish rooms you will ever find in country motels anywhere.

We come through Maryborough a few times each year, we have stayed across the road at McNevins a few times and thought we would try out Kimba again. So glad we did. The rooms are not as big but they are cosy, well equipped and nicely renovated. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Kimba Lodge, Maryborough is the best Motor Inn my husband and I have ever stayed in. The facilities were excellent with awsome wifi connection. Good sized room well located in complex which meant no road noise with the added bonus of private outdoor area. My husband used the pool which was well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful, reception staff even organised courtesy bus to local r.s.l. for us...... nothing was too much trouble. We would stay there again... Noela

Large room, very clean. Water pressure was awesome and receptionist very friendly and welcoming. Limited car spaces under the shade sails and then some more on the other side of driveway which don't have cover but also plenty more open air car parking next door if you need it. Reception was open late which was great and took pressure off. Would return for sure!

Two night stay. Room well presented and smaller than expected. Beds comfortable lots of pillows. Remote control packets that said they were especially cleaned for us. But on closer inspection attention to detail for a higher priced stay was not evident. The screen door to the tiny balcony was unable to be locked as there appeared to be no guts to the lock leaving the only security from the ground floor patio a flimsy glass sliding door lock. As a result took valuables with us on outings. Room appeared to be very clean except for the high cupboard above the microwave that had that much dust / powder on the surface I was able to write my initial in it. Other small things were clock radio was not plugged in and microwave clock showed 1700 at 5 am obviously 12 hours in advance. TV was ok as was air con and meals. Parking was limited and bays were very narrow. Both the patio door lock and dirty cupboard were reported to reception after first night. Response was I will get these addressed today. Mum would not be happy. They were not addressed. Paid for both nights after night one and was unable to get a receipt at that time. Said the receipt would be put under the door that night. It was not. Over all a little disappointed.

Great staff, the rooms are really nice and and quite lux for a motel, best wifi I've had anywhere in Queensland, close to everything. I've been coming up here for about 4 years now and won't stay anywhere else! Can't wait to come back next year.

My children and I stayed here for 3 nights in a room with a queen and a single bed. The bathroom was roomy and they had both a kettle and a toaster for our use as well a a microwave. These were all utilised as we had appointments early. The room was very clean and the kids fought over the little chocolates on the bed-side tables. The cleaners and lodge staff were very friendly and helpful and was greatly appreciated. The pool was a little cold (being july, we knew it would be) but my daughter still went in and had a lovely swim, in the clean pool. Over-all we loved this Motel.

It's amazing how big expensive hotels can't get little things right like fresh milk in the room for a cuppa and a little shelf in the shower. This little motel does! Stayed one night on a weekend visit. Good value without it trying to look flash. Air- cons was good which is important to us. Only thing was you hear people in the hallway.

Whisper quiet? Tick. Spotlessly clean? Tick. Comfy bed with crisp sheets? Tick. Gourmet breakfast with wide range of options? Tick. I stayed for two nights midweek in upstairs room 208 in July 2016. Even though there were plenty of other guests staying, my room appeared to be soundproofed so I wasn't disturbed by the usual irritating sounds of someone next door running a bath or watching a movie. The room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated and has a lovely private balcony, you can even hear the parrots in the morning. No traffic noise either.There's a microwave and toaster if you need it, they generously supply fresh milk (not that long life stuff) and the shower has great water pressure, and there were 4 bath towels in my room. Car park is close to rooms and has shaded area. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly managers either, happily accomodating my request for my favourite toast. In all, I can't fault a thing.

Stopped off in Maryborough for a night on our long drive south and of course consulted Trip Advisor on where to stay and was more than happy with Kimba Lodge - spotless clean room, nice and quiet and a great price - would highly recommend and would stay here again if I'm ever down that way

I was pleasantly surprised at the rooms here. They are much better than the exterior lets on, clean, well furnished, spacious and plenty of extras in toiletries, sanitised remotes, chocolates and a well-stocked mini bar. The restaurant in the pub next door also surprised with a much better menu and well prepared menus. Not just your typical 'pub grub'. Staff were accommodating with our need to plug into an exterior powerpoint to keep our 3-way fridge going after a camping trip. Having stayed in a few motels in Maryborough this will not be our first choice.

My room at the Kimba Lodge Motel was a welcome surprise. Tastefully furnished with little hidden extras, such as chocolates on the bed and sanitised remote controls. The pub next door also has great meals at reasonable prices. Win/win.

The Maryborough Best Western Kimba Lodge Motel had comfortable clean rooms. Good WiFi. Only free to air TV tho signage indicates a cable service. Good easy to find location in easy walking distance to business centre and restaurants. Too cold for the pool! You'll find it adjacent to the White Lion Hotel which has an adequate bottle shop for a cold ale and a decent red.

No need to look elsewhere, just stay here. Spotlessly clean, really quiet, super comfortable bed & room service with a smile. Perfectly cooked generous serve of eggs benedict still hot straight from the kitchen. Location great, surrounded by a choice of eating options (but still have breakfast here). Every detail taken care of from immaculate grounds, pool, laundry facilities to crisp clean white cotton bed linen. Microwave, toaster, tea, coffee, well stocked fridge & nibbles with complimentary chocolate for each guest. Loved our fresh smelling room with private balcony on second floor. Definitely does not have that "clichéd hotel smell". A big thankyou to all the cleaners, maintenance crew, reception & management. You can expect another review from us as we are definitely coming back!

My friend and I were 'passing through' Maryborough and were looking for a convenient and inexpensive place to book two rooms to just simply spend the night and be on our way in the morning.... A friendly local motorist suggested and then led us (we were on motorcycles) to the Best Western Kimba - and it 'got better' from there! The rooms were large, comfortable, with large beds, quality bedding, nice furnishings, and excellent bathrooms with large and quality towels. The real treat though was the friendliness of Anne - the motel's owner. Anne encouraged us to 'stop and look' at the town in the morning - look at its many historical buildings, museums, gardens, and cafes/restaurants - all within a short walk. She even offered - without our asking - a Late Checkout - so that we could 'see the town properly'... A real gem - and must be considered on your next trip to/through Maryborough!

Been a while since my last stay at Kimba Lodge .. But again .. Not disappointed .. Beds are always so comfy .. And the Best Hot shower.. Always clean and tidy wonderful rooms and greeted by the Host with a wonderful smile everytime. Always a pleasure to stay and will be back again soon .. Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on the weekend 30/4/16 - 2/5/16 for the world biggest pub crawl. I must say i was very impressed with the service we received. I originally booked through a booking site and the hotel kindly advised the rate booked directly with this hotel was cheaper, thank goodness it saved us a lot of money. Upon arrival we were checked in very quickly and the owner was very helpful. The room was very clean(i would know i'm very picky where i stay and it was lovely). The bathroom was a little dated but functional. I give it top marks as the water pressure in the shower was great, nothing worse than bad water pressure in a shower. And the remote was in a little bag that stated it had been cleaned. Very impressed and the chocolates were yummy!! The owner was very helpful and advised us where to go for tea and best time to get there are many places shut early in town. I couldn't be happier with the assistance and will be back next year for the crawl :)

Quiet, spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished is an accurate description of our queen room. The property has ample off street guest parking. The mini bar was well stocked with both sweet & savoury treats. The motel caters for breakfasts only however there is a rustic pub next door which serves great meals.

I travel extensively for work and find that by the time I get to my accommodation, all I want is a clean, comfortable and safe place to rest and rejuvenate for the day ahead. Kimba Lodge was by far the best motel I have EVER stayed in. A very well deserved 4 stars. I felt as though I could eat off every surface, the linen was super fresh (no smell to the pillows), the food was great and at a reasonable price (make sure you try the cheese platter with fruit and cold meats). The room was extremely well appointed, having everything you may need and extra milk just in case. Management and staff will turn themselves inside out to make sure your stay is positive. I am definitely coming back and have told all of my colleagues to cancel everything else and only stay at Kimba Lodge when in Maryborough!

Comfy spacious bed with nice clean linen, awesome shower with squeaky clean towels, free wifi, decent sized TV, choccies n biscuits, washing done daily, swimming pool and last but not at all least, the warm and friendly service was much appreciated! The homely well kept herb garden was a bonus too.

Loved my time here. I booked over the phone, which was super easy. Room was clean, well presented and had a homely feel to it, which I love while travelling on my own. Free wifi and clean towels each day was great. Also loved the bed, very comfortable. I tried the ham omelette from the breakfast menu, and it was delicious! Hospitality from everyone I met here was amazing. Would recommend to anyone and will staying here again next time I'm in Maryborough.

Terrific experience from booking over the phone to checking out. The hospitality was so genuine and warm and the room was nice, clean and comfortable. An added bonus was the free wifi and the fact the cleaners will do your laundry for you each day. Just terrific for a business traveller.

Well done to these property owners. Stayed for one night whilst in area on business. The room itself was lovely and exactly like the picture, what a pleasure. Bathroom is a dated but clean with nice fluffy white towels and standard toiletries; bonus: great water pressure. Excellent bed *****. Real surprises - little chocolates on bedside tables and a remote control in a bag that indicated that it had been cleaned - thank you. Great friendly check-in and check-out. Did not have breakfast but have two options - standard and gourmet style - will definitely try next time. Located next to a local pub, no noise. Motel does not serve evening meals but pub does (not every night). I found a very nice pinot noir in the bottle shop attached to the pub.

It's about the little things. I will be away from home 56 nights this year and about 12 of them WILL be spent staying at this motel. Recently in 38°C heat I arrived, pretty worn out, at about 5pm. After the usual lug of luggage to the room I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the property owners had been to the room and turned on the Air Conditioning. And not just turned it on, had it cranked down to the lowest temperature. In the heat and humidity of a Queensland summer's day it was nothing short of a godsend. I thank you so much!!!

stayed here overnight before going to hervey bay nice rooms at good rates parking can be a bit of a challenge but staff were helpfull bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean nice and quiet overnight

I mistakenly booked this room for the wrong night through What if. As soon as I did it I rang the Best Western Kimba Lodge to cancel the wrong booking and was told that I had to cancel with What If, which I did. They told me it was up to the motel to refund the money, the motel told me it was What If. Long story short nobody refunded the money and I was out of pocket $128 for a night. So I was not impressed. I would think if you cancelled in plenty of time you should be able to get a refund. Will never stay at the motel ever and will probably not use What If again. Marilyn W.

Everything is kept clean and the rooms have been tastefully refurbished. Whilst the bathroom was impeccably clean, it is in serious need of an update to match the room. Free wifi and foxtel are an added bonus. Overall a very comfortable stay, would recommend for those passing through Maryborough.

I have stayed at Best Westerns before & loved them...until now At check in, the lady on reception had such an attitude towards me (I had accidentally booked two rooms by mistake & told her I only needed the one room) She didn't handle the situation professionally at all. In the end, I had to pay for an extra room I didn't need. The rooms themselves are nice and comfortable. The beds were firm but comfortable. However, our bin had not been emptied & was still full of rubbish from the previous people The air conditioner in our room was so annoying. Without even being switched on, in the early hours of the morning, it would make some really strange noises and then spend the next few hours making ticking noises. The pool was lovely, however, lights in the pool would have been great. We hopped in the pool at 7pm & it was quite dark to swim in. While we were in the pool, we saw one of the staff members pushing dirty laundry around while having a smoke hanging out of their mouth. Not very professional. Unsure if I will be staying here again

We are however sorry to hear that you were not totally satisfied with your stay. Our staff endeavour to be professional and hospitable with all of our guests. This fact is clearly demonstrated through our sterling reputation on TripAdvisor. Our Front Desk Manager tried to work through your double booking issue as professionally as possible. We encourage traveller to take extra care when booking online to avoid these types of mistakes. Additionally, please note that the person you observed while you were in the pool was in fact an in-house guest and not a staff member. Please be assured we have a strong quality control program though Best Western and Star Ratings Australia but we do appreciate your feedback in regard to cleaning and maintenance. Safe travels.

Nice and clean with modern rooms and comfortable beds. One of the better places in Maryborough. No restaurant on site if that matters to you. Parking would be the only down fall. Finding that the Best Westerns are good places to stay. Would recommend this hotel.

Please don't drive past this beautiful motel. We had a fantastic weekend here. After returning from a huge day and night out we arrived back to our air conditioned room and had a lovely hot shower. We found the rooms to be very quiet and had everything we needed. We will definitely be staying again. Thumbs up to the great staff.

This motel is very handy to the centre of town and is great to stay at, in which I do often when in the area on business as it is central to Hervey Bay, Gympie and Bundaberg. The décor is exceptionally good and the hotel next door is a great place to have a meal and a beer which also offers a charge back account to your room for Kimba Lodge guest's. Great staff, great rooms and the best place to stay in town and I am booked in again for this week.

I stayed here four times over a eight week period and in a different room each time , ground floor and first floor. The rooms were all made up to the same first class standard with good tv & Austar recepition , the beds were good, the rooms are quite with no road noise. Internet was free just had to plug the suppled cord into your laptop. This is an excellent place to stay. All of my futher trips I will be staying here

Have stayed a few times now, the rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy, in fact the whole grounds are perfectly presented in this unassuming little place. The only downfall is the limited parking - my last stay I missed out on a carpark and had to park in the entrance way, plus only half the car parks are under cover. I can not fault the hospitality and service, very friendly and helpful. I will continue to stay here when I'm in town.

Have stayed here 3 times now and each time have found the rooms clean, comfortable and quiet. We have been welcomed in a friendly manner each time. If you want a meal, the White Lion next door offers good food and reasonable prices.

This is by far the best place to stay in Maryborough. Rooms spotless, spacious and you are set back off the main road, no road noise and the staff are excellent. Breakfast is great value, freshly cooked at the time you ask and always a big feed. If you are looking for a stopover in Maryborough, book in with Kimba Lodge.

Always a great place to stay. It's quiet, friendly and always nice and clean. I highly recommend Kimba Lodge to every one. I always get the best night sleep and look forward to having a shower as they are always nice and hot and towels are always clean and crisp.Thank you to the staff for always making us feel welcome.

Comfy beds, awesome shower, secure building, great pub feed next door and sweet lady manager. Just dropped in here on the way past on the drive home late at night, but a pleasant surprise. Quiet rooms make for a great nights sleep. Will definitely be back.
