Je m’inscris I have never stayed in a place where the walls are so thin. I was almost asleep when the guests in the neighboring room arrived, and I could hear everything. They rose early the next morning, and the shower sounded louder than the shower in our room. I also felt the bed sheets were past their prime. Rough and pilling (or thinning?). The comforter was not warm enough - you could turn the heat up but that dries the air out and is also noisy. The diverter in the shower in 305 did not work very well. About half the water was still coming out of the tub spigot. On the plus side, front desk staff very nice and breakfast was good, too.
Good price, clean room. We reserved a suite with a sofa, and requested first floor. But when we checked in, the only suites were second floor, other building, and no elevator. Once we got up to the room, everything was fine. Good breakfast, included bacon and eggs. Nearby restaurants include Perkins and Ruby Tuesday, two of our favorites.
I'm a truck driver and I stay here 3 times a week, I won't stay anywhere else! They have great hot breakfast, and the ladies are outstanding, I'd like to thank Kati, Kendra , and Tanya for the hospitality and always being friendly I feel like family, these girls are awesome and I do appreciate everything you do! The rooms are always clean and and well kept! I would recommend this hotel!!!
I have always trusted that Best Western Hotels are pretty dependable, clean and well kept. This was not the case when we stayed at Best Western DuBois, PA. Room was not clean, grounds were littered with cig. butts and trash and basically run down. A room with out even a chair, minus a rickety desk chair just doesn't cut it. Bathroom was superficially cleaned with fecal matter on front of toilet. I guess when I heard a desk employee tell someone "you know we are for sale!" I should have known better. There are nicer cleaner places to stay in the cute little town of Dubois. We will not be back!
Everything was clean and comfortable. If you arrive and they tell you you're in the adjacent building, ask if you are on the second floor because there are NO elevators! That was not cool. Also, only two bath towels in the room. Could have used more. Breakfast was average at best.
This was a one night stop on our way traveling home from Kentucky. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and courteous. Our king room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice variety of breakfast items. Ample parking. Was about a mile or 2 off the highway. I would stay here again if in area.
The room was very clean We had the Jettub in our room. It was clean and perfect for a relaxing weekend. The bed was comfortable. We were in the suite so it had a kitchenette. Refrigerator, sink and a table.
This hotel is centrally located with easy access. It was clean and comfortable. We stayed one night and had a continental breakafst that we enjoyed. The staff was helpful, courteous and friendly. If we ever need lodging in DuBois again, we will stay at this Best Western. Thank you.
No cleaning of the room and poor service to get the reservation. Staff could not get the credit card machine to work properly. Poorly trained staff and a the no cleaning was not handled well. Very unhappy with the way the cleaning staff replied to a request to clean the room.
My husband and I brought our kids to the king jacuzzi suite (304) and they told us due to renovations the price had went up, nothing changed except the head board and night stands. Very disappointed with this stay.
This hotel was clean and well taken care of, but I think the price was a little high. The hallways are narrow, and the bathroom is tiny. The bedroom itself is a decent size and it's close enough to the downtown district to walk. The breakfast has a nice selection of choices.
Krista the GM was a rockstar. She was kind, helpful, and very easy to talk to. Also Katie, the front desk manager, was equally as kind and helpful. I was impressed with the overall cleanliness as well as the breakfast. Price was more than reasonable as well.
Great place to stay on your stop through Pennsylvania! Rooms are clean, property well kept, check in pleasant & front desk staff are so helpful - especially Ezra, who was extremely pleasant and helpful! Breakfast area is well kept & stocked
Railway track is located right in front of hotel. Hotel was under construction so I had to stay in older conference center next to hotel. Room was very old, dirty , hot, stairs to 2nd floor. Hotel lobby and breakfast area very small and dirty
I booked a one night stay after traveling almost 6 hours from Queens NY to Dubois PA to pick up a puppy. Price for room was affordable. Hotel is up to date on cleanness and furniture. My only complaint was the breakfast and worker. Coffee tasted old and nasty. Bagel was hard. I asked and was denied cream cheese after noticing another guess with cream cheese. I guess nationality does make a difference. I do recommend the stay but not the breakfast. Thanks
When you are away from home and want to feel comfortable and safe - you can't go wrong at this Best Western. We were there for a funeral, and I am so glad to have chosen this hotel as the service, location, room, and value were excellent. Thank you Best Western!!
I was impressed with the kindness of the front desk clerk on check in. There is no elevator to the second floor and she offered to help me get my things to the room if I needed it. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
My husband and I went up to view the elk. The hotel is very noisy Celt located. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very nice. If you have kids they have a meat playground! Please be aware that there is no housekeeping on weekends. Would definitely go there again. If you are visiting penn state Dubois it is literally across the street.
Katie and Ezra were the BEST at accomodating ALL of our needs in order to pull this whole destination wedding together! In these times of being short-staffed and the current United States administration paying people to stay home, the service we received this weekend proves that there are young people overworked and still showing EXCELLENCE and KINDNESS to their customers...FANTASTIC
Service is always excellent and the hotel has done numerous upgrades and is renovating rooms. They manage the renovation well so it does not cause problems for guests. Because the hotel is in a really good location and the service and rooms are great, I choose to weather the renovation process.
Great and comfortable place to stay, very convenient , exceptional service, will definitely stay again, breakfast a little needed improvement, coffe was sad , breakfast could be a lot better, but otherwise would recommend stay here anytime.
The hotel is very small and in a small town. Our room was in the basement which is very unusual. Breakfast was the usual hotel breakfast which was fine. We were greeted in a friendly manner at check in.
Let me start off with I am a Diamond member, I don't reach this status very often so its a big deal to me. I was not even acknowledged of this status and I also was not offered the water I always get or the extra 500 points Don't know if I'll get them will have to wait and see. On to the room, it was clean and smelled fresh. No odors like a previous review mentioned. That made me nervous. My two biggest complaints are about the configuration of the room we got. Although I picked this room style I mostly picked it for the microwave and sink as it was only a few dollars above the previous room type. It also had a hot tub in the room which I ordinarily would love but its difficult for me to get in and out of so I normally don't use it but its nice to have if you can. This is what made the room appear cluttered and small. The bathroom was just outside of this room and the bedroom was on the other side. Just a bit of a walk in the middle of the night. The other part of the room had a nice table and two chairs( a plus in my book) only thing was you were right on top of the tv and furniture. It only left a small space to get by. There's also a couch and a recylner type chair and coffee table. It is a nice thing to have all this but its a bit crammed. The bedroom had a king size bed which was comfortable and clean. Only thing was it was on one of the metal platforms and the mattress moved when I leaned on it. That made me nervous but it turned out to not be an issue. The other thing is theyhave a dresser with another tv(another plus having a second tv) but then they put a desk in the room making it a bit congested. There was also another chair and ottoman which was nice. I wasn't expecting the breakfast to be great and I was right. They had the hot food separated in containers which I've never seen anywhere else, especially since most hotels have gone back to normal. The rest of the stuff was good, bagels, waffles and yogurts and fruit. The breakfast area didn't look great but ok. When bringing your luggage in with the cart it is hard because there are may curves to maneuver. The clerk advised me to go around the side door which would have been easier if they had a way to go over the curb with the luggage cart. When we were leaving I just carried everything in several trips, much easier then pushing that cart around. There is a second floor, no elevator. Thankfully I was told and asked for 1st floor. So if stairs are an issue ask for 1st flr
We booked last minute late at night online as we needed to stay overnight in the area, front desk was able to give us a 2 queen room in the conference center building. The beds / mattresses were new and very comfortable, also very quiet. Nice continental breakfast in the morning. If you need a roadside stop off I - 80 this is a good choice. Friendly staff.
This is THE MOST DISGUSTING HOTEL EVER!!! The room was musty and smelled of feet. The lighting was horrible, likely due to the age of the carpet. If I had not been traveling all day, I would have left. In hindsight, I should have rested in my car. This hotel needs to be demolished!!
This is our second time staying here. Both times, we needed to be at the hospital early in the morning, so we stayed overnight in Dubois. The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the value is very good. The rooms we stayed in (single king) were pleasant, with plenty of space for our large dog, and all the amenities we need. The beds are very comfortable, and the heating/cooling system works well and is not too loud. If you are traveling with a dog, or even if you are not, this is a good palce to stay.
We were traveling through and this was a good quick stay. Not perfect but good for the price with all we needed. Breakfast, fitness center and a local CVS near by. I just took a walk to the local CVS for exercise but chose to walk the back way to the store as the other road was quite busy. I added this as a place of stay if I am in the area again.
If you need a handicapped accessible room. This is not the place. A step in tub with no seat for someone non weight bearing on crutches does not work...but they said this was my accessible room. We booked a 2 bed accessible room. We got one bed and a terrible room. The ice machine was not working. There was no phone service to the main desk. The handicapped parking spot was slippery and not salted after snow and freezing rain. Go elsewhere!
Literally one person of staff had a mask on her mouth, not nose, and no one else had any on. If you're trying to say travelers will be safe, the manager had better endorse this requirement of staff. Beds were comfy and location near a door helped
I drive between NJ and IL quite a bit to visit family and this place is exactly what I need. It is quiet and clean, the staff are friendly, and the continental breakfast is great. This hotel is noticeably cleaner than most other hotels I have stayed at, and I highly recommend it.
Even if you're just passing through town en route to your final destination, the DuBois Best Western is not your best choice. The carpets and floors are either filthy or worn beyond acceptability. I was grateful for my slippers. The front desk staff when we checked in, the evening of Oct 7, was less than competent. After taking an unusually long time to check us in, she directed us to a room down the hall, commenting they had "plenty of rooms." After getting settled in the room, I tried turning on the TV. Nothing. When I called the same front desk attendant, she said "oh, the remote in that room doesn't work. You have to go behind the TV to turn it on and off." She forgot to mention the volume on the remote was also broken. She knowingly gave us this room while there were "plenty of rooms." Does that mean the remotes are faulty in other rooms, too? The evening didn't end there. The noises throughout the property were distinct with paper-thin walls and old refrigerators that hum incessantly. When I told her this situation demanded a reduced rate, she said she'd talk to her manager. We learned the next morning we'd received a $10 credit... small compensation for an already-overpriced room.
BW is pet friendly, and we were assured that the room had been sanitized and would not present a problem for allergy sufferers. Not so. There were stains and cut marks on the carpet in multiple areas, dust under the heat/cool system, dirty woodwork coming out of the bath area. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable and there was an adequate supply of towels, shampoo, etc. BW is my usual choice for quality, price, cleanliness, excellent staff. This was a sore disappointment
One night stay on our way to East Coast. Rooms were small. Service ok. Breakfast ok. Nothing special about this Best Western. It looked like it needing updating. It was comfortable and quiet so that was a plus.
We selected this hotel becausevit was on our travel route and had some good reviews. The hotel is nice overall - clean with a friendly staff. The room was large with plenty of space for us and our two dogs. They are in a good location with several nice restaurants nearby. Great coffee provided 24x7, breakfast included, and free quality internet. We will be staying here again.
If were to rate the staff separately, they would receive 5 stars…they were extremely helpful, polite, and professional! The hotel n the other hand, is old, musty, and has a general feeling of being run down. I gave it 3 stars only because of the amazing staff…otherwise it is a two star hotel.
This hotel is quite rundown. There were holes in our curtains, the shower was dirty, with dirt running down as I Took a shower. The breakfast was subpar, the hot food was lukewarm. The fitness center was closed because of Covid supposedly but this was not on the website and most places have opened since Covid. There were people smoking outside the doors to the entrance which was also a big turn off.
I walked into the room with the toilet running. When you flushed it, you could hear it bubble up in the tub. When I want to pull the covers down I found 2 big balls of toilet paper in the bed like they were used to dry up body fluid. The bed was also filled with hair and food crumbs. Don't even think about having a cool room, it never became cool. I told the front desk when I checked out and was given excuses for all of the problems.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating here at Dubois Best Western Hotel. Our room was clean, sanitized, and safe. Good breakfast, too. We had a refrigerator, coffee maker, and a bathtub--so many hotels only have a shower.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a one night stay while traveling and it fit the bill. The room was clean and comfortable. I thought the bed was going to be too soft when I first felt it but I got a great night's sleep. They were serving a breakfast and it was a decent breakfast for hotel food. Would definitely stay here again.
I can not say enough about this hotel. It is the absolute BEST value for your money. The staff is alway more than willing to help with anything you need. The rooms are amazing and the suite is TO DIE FOR!
We needed to stay overnight in Dubois to be at the hospital early the next morning. We also needed to be able to bring our dog (80lb Golden Retriever) with us. Kelly answered all my questions about the room, and even went to measure if there was room enough for our dog crate and called me back promptly with the information (king suite, one bed, yes, plenty of room). Our room was in the conference center building, and was very clean and quiet. There were large trucks parked outside our window, and I did not hear them leave in the morning, so the soundproofing works well. Katie at the front desk answered even more questions in the morning, and was very helpful when I needed late check-out. The dog area is well-marked, and pick-up bags and a trash receptacle are provided. There is a fantastic playground for kids, which made me wish I was or had a child. The hotel is tucked away just off the Bee Line Hwy, and traffic noise was not a problem. I did hear and see a train engine the next morning, but I count that as a plus. My dog enjoyed our stay, even though there is no elevator (he loves elevators, I think mostly because he has a captive audience). I would stay here again.
The room was very nice and clean, and large compared to other places that I have stayed at during this past year. Small kitchen in room was available with microwave and fridge. Plan to go back next year.
Arrived to the hotel room to find the toilet clogged. Asked if anyone would come fix it and was handed a plunger and was told to do it myself.. The refrigerator didn't work and the AC/Heat unit barley worked as well...
It was a double bed room and the bed was extremely comfortable. Good pillows and blankets. Everything was in good working order. I travelled alone and felt extremely safe. Wonderful service from staff.
The staff were very pleasant, and the rates were quite reasonable. The continental breakfast is good for a stop-through sort of morning on your way out. Everything was clean, quick, and easy here. The rooms were quiet as well, which was nice since I had been driving a while.
Although I was upset when I arrived, to learn that they are converting to all non smoking rooms and they had me assigned to one they did manage to find an available room that had't been "deep cleaned" yet and honored my advanced rservation for a smoking room. Being a smoker, that largely factors into my choice of where I stay. That said, I would recommend this Motel. Price was reasonable compared to others. Staff was friendly and greeted me when I arrived. I did not catch the name of the girl, who was traing the man tha ttook care of me. Rob is new, and I still want to calal him Marvin. Very respectful and tried to help in anyway he could. I think in all these years, he was he firt that asked if I needed help to carry my luggage to second floor. No elevator, but the steps are not bad, even if you elect to carry your own luggage. Two men I assumed to be security, very outgoing and cheerful in greeting you. I can not say enough about Sherry, who was the woman handling the breakfast each morning I was there. Friendly, talkative and attentive. Prior to my check out, I did take a moment and told her she needs to read the reviews, as many mentions the pleasant lady that does breakfast and I told her she lived up to the reviews I had read. As said, smoking availability does factor in with me, but is the weather is conducive with going outside to smioke, I thikn I would be willing to stay here again and do that. Temperature of room was good. Watch the shower, gets hot, but I love a hot shower. An older building, but they did tell me that they are goign to be doing upgrades, including an elevator.
We stayed at this Best Western while attending the Groundhog Day celebration at Gobblers Knob. The Inn is approximately 35 miles away and it was a quick easy drive. Our room was very clean and had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The breakfast was more than acceptable with nice selection. The staff from all areas were very friendly and helpful. Though there isn't a restaurant on site, there are several within a few miles and one within walking distance. Overall our stay was very pleasant and I would certainly recommend this specific Best Western Inn & Conference Center.
I am glad we gave this place another chance after our fiasco last year. They stepped up their game and had THE NICEST staff working. It's unassuming and affordable. Breakfast was AMAZING. Rooms were clean and the wifi was fast.
Dubois PA is midpoint in travels from MI to MA (my childhood home). In the past 15 years, I would estimate, we have spent close to 100 nights in the BW in Dubois, PA. Always satisfied!. Plan on staying there as long as we travel east.
Everything was great. We will always stay at this Best Western hotel when we visit the DuBois Pa. area. It was perfect for us and our bull dog, Mia. We will recommend this hotel to our friends that travel to the DuBois area. The room location was close to parking and the pet area. This hotel is close to everything. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
So friendly and helpful. They had a beautiful room ready and our dogs were so happy. They even gave us biscuits for our dogs! we are so happy we decided to stay here and recommend this for any travelers.
My wife is very critical when it comes to hotels. Actually critical of me for trying to save a buck and hoping for a pleasant stay. A pleasant stay would require a clean room, clean bed linen and very clean bathroom. A breakfast which included fresh fruit and strong coffee. This place had all that and a great price! This will now be our stopover when traveling from Indian to New Jersey 3 times a year. Finally found a place my wife likes!
Highs and lows ... our 3 night stay 9/19-22 /19 yielded erratic service .. Kate was a top performer on check in.. hotel room was clean though the sink was slow draining..we were roomed in the conference center which is NOT ADA to the 2nd floor.. & has about 25 steps in to climb or descend in what we found was a constantly ice cold stairway.. didn't see an elevator.. did see far too many employees sitting around smoking in courtyard.. perhaps just a few @ a time and not the entire staff at once? the exterior grounds are not that clean or tidy....while the weekend gal @ breakfast couldn't do enough for us .. what an angel.. .. Monday's gal was an absolute sour puss.. sorry we were just a bit late ... please forgive our mortal sins... our Monday morning check out with Michelle was the worst experience I've ever had @ a Bw.. gal couldn't process Bw gift cards?? WTF?? inadequate training? No training? After waiting over 20 mins for resolution.. told her we are leaving & will return about a half hour later.. then after 45 mins on our return found this lady out front smoking.. was my account cleared and ready? NO! very mad.. before we left the first time I asked this gal to call Bw international to handle my gift cards which should have been a 5 minute exit if that... instead 30 minutes later I got cigarette smoke.. why are you having a smoke break when my issue is still not resolved after an hour?? Oh where oh where is Kate?? After leaving in disgust.. I called Bw international while in the car to immediately lodge a complaint.. they called this hotel immediately while I was on the line & no one picked up.. "perhaps the hotel is having phone problems".. well if they are.. it isn't the only problem... then this hotel did NOT followup and send the usual Bw rewards survey to me as ALL other Bw hotels do for this platinum preferred member. Wonder why not? Is BWI screwing up too? Not sure we will stay here again although for the most part the stay was adequate and the room comfortable. This review was also similarly posted on google maps and yelp.
3 nights here for our annual bike trip. Rooms were dated, but clean. Staff was friendly. They put us in the "conference center annex" which was beside the main hotel. Not bad, but the reader on the door for access was jacked. We had to get new room keys 2 and 3 times a day. Annoying over a 3 day stay.Breakfast was clean, well stocked, and well maintained. Not bad for the money.
The motel is located on the edge of a business and it was very clean, comfortable and the breakfast was better than some of the other motels I have stayed out. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and knowledge of the area.
This is the ideal stop over on the route Chicago/New York along the I-80. The bonus that sealed the deal for us is that they are pet-friendly and their pet fee is only 12$ per pet per night. Your pooch gets even a welcome kit consisting in two beautiful dog cookies a poop bag and a welcome note. We also appreciated the hand written welcome note in the room from the housekeeping staff. The room was spotless and very clean. There's plenty of lawn around the premises to let your dog stretch their legs and we liked the old-fashioned train station nearby and the charm of the trains passing by. If you need anything there's malls and stores a 5 minute drive from the hotel ,and same goes for main street of the small town of Dubois, that offers quite a few interesting dining options. The hotel breakfast that is included with the room rate is quite impressive and extensive,it also includes fresh fruit and hot items like waffles, eggs, breakfast sausage, biscuit and gravy etc. All staff was nice and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay so much that right after checking out we called the hotel from the car on the I-80 to book a room for the stop over on the way back too. Both nights were a great stay for awesome value.
We had a Pleasant stay. Rooms were nice, spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and kept refilled. Location of hotel made it easy to get in and out. This hotel is close to the city so there are nice restaurants and shops.
Arrived in the DuBois area, I had booked my stay at a different area hotel. I was absolutely shocked and disgusted by the staff's attitude, not to mention the property! Checked out early, booked a room through Best Western app. Arrived to find a nicely maintained, friendly and outgoing staff. Rooms clean and very comfortable. I will be back on my next trip. Thank you.
The hotel was very nice and one of the few in the area that accepted pets. the front desk associate (Lori) was outstanding and extremely helpful. although they do not have a pool, the playground for children was great
I have stayed here 3 times this year & 2 out of 3 times had a very pleasant stay. Given, I was placed, as requested, in a pet friendly room & from that perspective, the rooms need some updating. I was placed once in a room next to the front side door & not only did I have to hear the door slamming every time someone would enter all night long but the room smelled badly of urine. Not only could I get any sleep but I started to develop breathing issues & had to leave in the middle of the night. I spent the remainder of the night sleeping in my vehicle in the wilds of PA. Though a unique experience, it was not the one I was expecting. Having said that, the other previous rooms were relatively clean for Eastern US standards. I left a power cord for my Mac & when I came back they couldn't find it but that's my fault. So you will be taken care of, it's just one night so I say go for it.
Clean comfortable stay with 18-wheeler semi truck parking/RV parking. Pet-friendly rooms, close to a couple restaurants. A little bit off the interstate but worth the drive. Rooms were a little bit pricing breakfast was pretty good.
Decent hotel. I don't think there was an elevator. Only stayed one night. The room was clean and what I expected. The bed was soft and comfy, which was awesome since it seems most hotels have firm beds.
I do not understand how someone that works each day checking people in to this hotel can mess up on customers information so badly that a manager could not correct it????? Also had an issue with room provided. I made my reservation weeks in advance and had confirmation. On arrival I was given a handicap room that I didn't want nor ask for and was told it was all they had.
Staff was friendly and location was convenient. Room was clean and I will recommend and stay again. Pet friendly for a small additional fee. My room key didn't work and was replaced immediately. Breakfast was a variety of options and was well prepared.
We stay at the DuBois Best Western every year for the past several years and have never been disappointed. They are friendly and courteous. Check in is fast and easy. The rooms are always clean and neat. Bed was very comfortable. Amenities are great! If you forget something they have it! Breakfast is always very good and quite a variety for anyone with special dietary needs. We will be coming back again next year!
It was clean, spacious, and very comfortable for our one night stay. We requested a no smoking room and it had NO smell of smoke like some of the other hotels claim. All of the staff were pleasant. The breakfast offered a variety of food including bacon and eggs, cereal, waffles, fruit, bagels, etc. Definitely will return if needing a stop over!
Pet friendly, clean hotel with a great breakfast. Staff goes out of their way to make sure we had a positive experience. The food served for breakfast was very good. It even included bacon and egg. I will stay there again.
We stayed at this hotel a year ago. It was nice then and better the 2nd time. We will stay again when in the area. Very convenient to restaurants, site-seeing and Showers Baseball Field. Friendly staff as well.
The place looks older on the outside but the rooms are very clean and up to date. Mattress was extremely comfortable. Only trouble at all was going up stairs with no elevator. Some would have difficulty with this. Good location for convenience. Have stayed there in past and definitely would again.
Business trip , outstanding service. Beautiful property, super comfy beds! Above and beyond customer service to address our needs , comfort of our drivers. Points allocation and any other issues that we had which were very minor and handled quickly. Hope to back soon. The beds are dreamy!
We were very pleased with the handicap accommodations and the very helpful staff member who recommended the connecting suite. Exceeded our expectations. The room was very spacious allowing for mobility with a walker.
We stayed here recently on a road trip stopover. It's clean enough, and the staff was nice, but the hallways reek of smoke and the furniture upholstery had stains. It's not a place I would want to stay for days on end, but it served its purpose for a quick stopover and get some sleep. The breakfast is decent.
Stopped her on a road trip back home. Dubois was the perfect stopping point for us on this trip so we looked and found this Best Western. The rooms are large and well appointed. Everything was clean and relatively modern. The room was very quiet which is not surprised as it was next to large, empty field which is nicer to look at than a city street :). Breakfast was decent (nothing special) but the coffee was good and the lady who took care of it was very pleasant. The night staff was also very very pleasant and helpful. Restaurants, Wal Mart, gas and everything else is close by. Good place to stay in a nice town.
Seemed all to willing to help us get a room in a timely fashion after being up all night. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Its just nice to be treated like they care about you. first class right from the get go until we checked out . Thank you from a repeat customer
Had a early meeting in the morning and this hotel was just around the corner, Check in was quick and super easy they even advised that as I'm on the ground floor park at the bottom car park as it would be easier for me to access the room. Room very comfortable clean double beds soft had a grand sleep the bathroom clean modern I did find the bath a little small but otherwise was ok. The gym has all that you need. Breakfast was great had everything you needed all in all a great stay. Wifi you have access worked fine plenty of parking.
Just back from a night at this lovely hotel. It looked a little odd as we approached it, but it was very clean and the staff was excellent. Loved the advance check in option, and the cleaner left a lovely note. They have recently updated their breakfast options and the omelets and bacon were outstanding. Not all that impressed with the potato patties though. My husband was disappointed that they had pancakes instead of waffles :) He commented that the orange juice was really good. I liked the cranberry juice very much-you don't see that option at most hotels. The only thing I would recommend is finding a way to keep the milk colder. I picked up a business card from there on the way out. I sometimes present conferences and this would be an excellent choice.
Good morning. We stayed at the Best Western in DuBois PA this weekend. This hotel could definitely use some updating, including an elevator and automatic opening front door. Didn't realize that any hotel could have multiple floors without an elevator based on handicap laws. We were given a room on the second floor of the conference center and it was not easy lugging luggage up the steep stairs. Price was “okay”, but we understand that the Comfort Inn, which has many amenities, was at a better price for more people in a room and much better breakfast, rooms, etc. This feedback is meant as a heads up about this hotel and improvements needed!Thank you for reading our feedback Sue and Randy Widman Sent from my iPhone
The room was clean and updated--no complaints there. The location was the only thing that left something to be desired. Although I did not realize it when I booked the room, I was in the Conference Center, a separate building located behind the main hotel building. When the person at the front desk gave me my room key she did very little to explain this, and since the Conference Center does not say Best Western anywhere on it, this was a little confusing. The front doors of the Conference Center were locked both from the outside and the inside--the only way in was through the back door. There was no one parked in the Conference Center parking lot, and I thought I was the only person in the building until I was leaving, when I was greeted by a man in his underwear who had wandered out into the hallway as I was leaving. This would have scared me regardless, but it was especially frightening given that as far as I could tell there was no one else in the building--the lobby was in the main building--and he was standing between me and the only exit.
This was a rest stop for us halfway on a 10hr drive and it served that purpose. The fact that they accept dogs at this property was extremely helpful and convenient because we could not find another property in the area that allowed guests to bring dogs. In spite of this, the building was still very clean, the smell of dogs was not present and it was not noisy while we were there. This is not a luxury hotel, so as long as you arrive with that understanding, there isn't much to dislike.
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and have generally found the rooms clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating. It's not a luxury hotel, but if you just need a decent place to stay overnight, it's fine. My only real objection is that the breakfast is basic--probably good enough for most people, but not if you prefer healthy options such as low-sugar cereal and real (not instant) oatmeal.
The hotel is pretty far from I-80. There's no elevator and the hall smells. The room was small but acceptable although the a/c was somewhat noisy. Breakfast was mediocre with very limited selection and poor quality of food. OK for an overnight stay.
Excellent friendly staff......... Any complaints a guest might have would be minor Breakfast better than your average bagels, muffins and yogurt., Great place if you are in the Dubois area. Clean rooms good stay for us.
On a recent motorcycle tour of the area this was our host hotel. I found it to be clean, centrally located and relaxing as we sat around talking of our rides. The hotel staff were also friendly and accommodating.
We stayed here last summer when traveling with our dog. We were grateful to find a hotel that took dogs (and there were many dogs staying here) but our room stunk. Even our dog seemed bothered by it. He basically kept sitting by the door in the room like he wanted to leave. We didn't notice the lingering smell in the room because the stairs and hallway leading up to the room smelled even worse so when we got to the room, the smell was less noticeable. We arrived late and after hauling our suitcases across the parking lot and up the stairs (we were told there were no rooms with 2 queen beds in the main building - those rooms were all in the conference center on the 2nd floor - NO ELEVATOR) I didn't have the energy to request a room change. Also, as this was the first time we'd ever stayed in a hotel with our dog, I just sort of figured that this is what you get when you stay in a hotel that takes dogs: a room with a wet dog smell. Anyway, we cancelled our reservation at this location for our return trip deciding to take our chances somewhere else. We stayed at the Best Western in Clearfield PA on our way home was much cleaner and nicer (and didn't smell like wet dog) and our dog also didn't sit by the door to our room the whole time at the Clearfield location.
We were fortunate to get a room at Best Western. Rooms clean, staff friendly and accomadating. Was calling for rain so they advised us we could move our bikes under the overhang. I would recommend the stay.
Stayed in the conference center. Great new renovatated space. Great accommodations and service. Hot continental breakfast. Staff was great an had the information we needed while we stayed at the facility.
This Best Western is two miles off of I-80 but worth the drive through the small town of Dubois. Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were awesomely comfortable. The hallway leading to room 212 was a bit institutional looking but that is a minor quibble. The included breakfast offers waffles, all manner of additional carbs (bread, bagels, sweet rolls), eggs, sausage, coffee, juices, cereals, fruit, plenty of choices. The breakfast room staff was friendly and hard working. The Best Western is close to local restaurants. All in all a good choice for a one night stay in Dubois.
Stayed one night at the Best Western DuBois. This hotel is not near I-80, you have to drive 2 miles into town itself. Bed was super comfortable. Room was clean, all appliances worked well and were quiet. Even though there are train tracks by the hotel, there was no noise at all. We would stay here again.
We found a large amount of dead bed bugs between the sheets and asked to be moved immediately. You could tell the front desk agent was not surprised. We checked out the new room and did not find any in that room but the damage had already been done.
We stopped for the night and the hotel was easy to find, quick check in, quiet (loved the distant train whistle!), clean and comfortable. Dubois itself is a great town for a trip overnight stop...restaurants, all the modern stores, old town to see....it surprised us at how alive the place was.
Best quality and service in town. Krista and Jen set up a group stay in June. Looking forward to another great weekend. Excellent location, within walking distance to food and entertainment. Clean, quiet rooms.
On a long trip and this place was great to stop at. Exceeded all of our needs. Well kept up place and staff was very helpful. Rooms were great. Parking great. Area close to highway so no problems finding it and getting back on the highway
Our check in was short, the staff was very nice, and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, we are thinking about purchasing the same mattress for our bed at home. Also the cleaning staff was great.
After 13 hours of driving cross country, this hotel was a blessing - very reasonable prices, pet friendly, comfortable beds, nice towels, breakfast. It was farther away from the Interstate Exit than I expected, but that was not a problem for us. The upholstered chair in the room had a bad stain, but i jut placed a towel over the stain and didn't sit on the chair. The rest of the room was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate.
My father and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet. The continental breakfast was outstanding. We highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms are pretty new and nice. Temperature control is in 2 places and easy to get to. Breakfast is better than expected for a free amenity. WiFi is fast. I have stayed her before and they are pet friendly. Noise is much lower in the Conference Center rooms but all are good so far...
No elevator. Handicapped room located outside around back and 150 feet away from Handicapped parking. Room was right inside this outside door. Breakfast was in the lobby area. Needed to go outside back in car, drive up to lobby area for breakfast. Breakfast was wonderful. Best ever.
We were very pleased with our stay at the BW Conference Center. They have renovated all the guest rooms and they are very nice. The beds were awesome!! They are doing some renovating to the outside and it might have been good if they had mentioned that. ??
I have been to BW Dubois several times. Each time, there is no disappointment. Rooms are clean and well appointed. The beds are super comfortable; more comfortable than other hotel chains that advertsise superior comfort and beds. Breakfast area is clean and well-stocked ( make your own waffles, cereal, eggs, breakfast meat , toast, muffins, juice , etc.). The only downside is that there is no elevator so you may have to carry your luggage up a flight of steps.
The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast spread was more then expected. 100% satisfied with the overall experience. Will be booking our next stay with Best Western when we return to the Du Bois, Pa area.
Because of a lack of an elevator, the Hotel would not be good for handicap guests that can not walk to well, if the hotel was starting to fill up. The bed sagged toward the head board, so it felt our heads were laying down hill.
No problems, and great staff. Slept like a baby. I have stayed here before, and will stay here the next time I am in DuBois. Easy to get to and from route 80, but not to close. (no road noise) I really like the beds, and have even asked the staff what kind of mattresses they have. Staff went out of their way to make my stay effortless!
We stopped at the diner and asked if there were any hotels in town besides the ones right next to I-80. They mentioned the Best Western, which saved us a little bit. We chose based on price, but the room was excellent: spotless, good beds, TV and bathroom. Included a very nice breakfast. Desk manager was friendly and helpful.
Room was musty smelling. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:00 and the staff started cleaning and not restocking anything at 9:40. Not a good idea to advertise the ending time but not abide by it. That was disappointing.
What you would expect from a Best Western, Clean and tastefully decorated rooms, Helpful front desk staff. Breakfast included in price of room included hot items as well as a full compliment of cereals, breads and fruit.
We greatly appreciate the pet-friendly policies of this hotel. Our king-bed room was clean and comfortable, plus was located near an exit that was good for both parking and pet walking. The hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was better-than-average at most hotels. This hotel is an excellent choice for a mid-way stop on Interstate 80.
A group of us stayed, we were treated very well my husband says they should be considered an A plus plus ! I say they spoiled us, did way more then they had to! This is the place to go if you would have a group they even had us stay on same floor which is something we as a group has never had when we traveled together.
The room was clean and nice complimentary breakfast however the room next door got locked out and at 1030 pm a loud bang was outside our window to see a ladder. I called the front desk to be told the guest next door is locked out and hotel is unable to unlock so they called fire dept. Banging and yelling went on well after 11pm. When I told the front desk agent at checkout she never apologized or experienced any empathy. She gave a discount and handed me an updated invoice. Very poor experience to end the trip.
staff was awesome and very friendly. Rooms were clean and roomy. We had a small group that stayed and our whole group enjoyed their stay. Location was perfect for us and within walking distance to restaurants, bars and shopping. definitely coming back next year!
The room was extremely clean, the beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. This hotel was Priced well and staff was very friendly. The only issue I had was there was not an ice machine on our floor.
Upon arrival to the Best Western Inn & Conference Center in Dubois PA we found a very dark parking lot, building and hallways. Check in and was told our room was in the Conference Center which is a separate building. Went to the Conference Center to find front doors lock with no key card access had to find another entrance which is on the side no big deal. Open the door to find a very dark hallway and stairwell. Felt around the walls for a light switch just to be able to see to get to our room. Our floor was on the second floor with no elevator in the building which we was not informed of there again no big deal. Had to find a light switch to turn on lights again to stairs on our way to our room we was greeted by the smell of someone smoking pot. Once in our room which was very clean, you could hear people talking all hours of the night. When we checked out in the morning we told the front desk about our experience getting into the building and all she said was "OH SOMEONE MUST HAVE TURNED THE LIGHTS OUT" I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, I have never been to hotel before that I had to turn the lights on in the hallway just to get to my room. The plus to this hotel is that the inside of the room was clean and very big.
Stopped on the way to riding some of the roads in WV, Va , and Tn. The location was very convenient, and having stayed here in the past knew it was a clean comfortable place. Convenient to restaurants and place to pick up last minute articles which may have been forgotten. Friendly helpful check in staff.
Have stayed here before, and on a long ride towards home thought it was more than doable to stop again. Front Desk, AWESOME at check in! Clean room, great beds and towels, grounds, main building all good... Excellent breakfast offering... really, not sure what more one could want?!
It was a very nice place, not one spot of dirt anywhere. I felt comfortable staying there. It was an awesome room. Mini fridge, microwave, whirlpool tub, and king size bed. Staff was exceptional! ! Great place to stay.
The rooms were very clean and the shower was excellent. The beds were very comfortable, the best mattress we ever slept in at a hotel. A Great place to stay for the family. It's affordable and close to a lot of great restaurants.
Props to BW for providing the perfect stay during a cross-country move. We had a moving truck and our cat, and both could be accommodated. The front desk person was very friendly and helped point us in the direction of our room. We stayed in the adjacent conference center and the room was recently renovated and very clean and quiet. It's rare to find a pet friendly, clean hotel that is right off the interstate. I'm usually a Hampton person, but this stay has made me consider Best Western for future stays!
This Best Western in DuBois, Pennsylvania was a great value. Bed had a superior mattress and room provided all the expected amenities, including wireless internet. Friendly, efficient staff, clean surroundings, and breakfast with a variety of choices.
Nice room, queen sized beds, very comfortable beds to sleep in, lots of lamps and lighting, plenty of floor space and seating, amazing amount of outlets everywhere in room, fridge and freezer and microwave with ice machine close by, awesome shower head. Overall felt clean, smelled nice, quiet, comfortable. Would definitely use again.
Stayed here 1 night while in town and was very pleased. Room was clean and refreshing, bed was awesome. Young prettt lady at front desk was super. Laundry was great. Got good night sleep. Bathroom was very clean but it was also pretty small
The front desk and housekeeping personnel were all very pleasant. The room was clean and functional. A very good bargain, actually. It is very convenient to the university. I did not try the breakfast.
This booking was done on the recommendation of Dubois Hospital as they give a discount for families, when their loved one is in the hospital. My mother was in ICU for 26 days. My father stayed in this hotel most of that time. The girls where very helpful and gracious. One named Jen going above and beyond the call of duty and did my fathers laundry so he did not need to leave my mom and drive the 1 hour and 10 minutes home and back. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good and the beds comfortable.
I always stay at Best Western. It suites may needs. If I travel with my dogs they are the only Hotel who excepts them. It is near the restaurant that I'm there to meet my family. Like the waffles in the AM but this last trip there was only pancakes available. Pillows are sooo soft! Rooms are clean but there were old stains on the carpet, hum mm. Overall very comfy.
We stayed here while motorcycling in the area. It was clean and very motorcycle friendly, they even offered towels to clean the bike when we inquired. It was quiet and had a roadhouse around the corner to go eat.
Great stay all the way from start to finish. The facility and rooms were sparkling clean and the staff was incredibly helpful. A great stay with my toddler and Labrador! Would definitely recommend and would stay again!
We rented a double king for our family and the beds and pillows were SO. COMFORTABLE. The room was huge and had a kitchenette, barstools and comfy chairs for a low price. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was ok but not amazing. On this trip I've revised my thoughts on Best Westerns based on two great experiences.
this hotel was a good place to stay while traveling. there was a conference facility attached so it was geared more for business then leisure. The rooms were clean and well maintained. I was placed at the conference center in a very nice room. the only complaint that I have is that the hall ways smelt of cigarette smoke. there were some computer problems at check in but this wasn't the fault of the staff. I didn't get a chance to use much any of the amenities due to a short period of stay and my departure time. I'm not sure if they even offered breakfast.
Nice place to stay especially since its pet friendly. Grateful that the rate was only $12 a day per pet, but a bit stunned that they didn't have hard wood floored rooms for the pet friendly rooms. Surprised they don't have a pool, but I did see a really big play ground. The free breakfast in the morning is really good; bagels, Belgium waffles, yogurt, cereal, and lots of other foods to choose from. The hotel staff we met was really nice. Didn't totally upset us, but it would have been nice to be prepared that a train went by the hotel in the evening and then again at 2:30 am!
This is one of 2 pet-friendly hotels in town. Normally we prefer hotels with pools because of the kids, but it said there was a playground on site. The staff was friendly. The rooms are clean, bright, and quiet. Pet fee was reasonable and they don't charge extra for a crib. The playground is nice and a great way for the kids to burn off energy after a long trip. Would definitely stay again.
Very nice area to stay. Hotel was very convenient. Ate at Luige's, excellent. Will probably stay there on our return trip. I like Best Western because you get consistently good quality for your money.
Hotel is located in Du Bois, about 2 miles from I80 and is across the street from the Penn State campus. The hotel is simple but very nice. It is clean, quiet and the rooms and beds are very comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful on any questions. A nice breakfast had healthy choices like fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs and continental fare. We were pleased that everything we needed was done right during our stay. Among amenities we used and observations to pass along: - Refrigerator in our double room did not have a freezer. - There is plenty of parking for cars and trailers. - A small children's play area has a slide and a wooden play gym. Although a bit worn, it was right for our toddler to run around after a long ride, and before we started the next one. - A train does pass in front of the hotel, I heard it only once during my stay, this at around 10 am. - A very well stocked Martin's grocery store is less than a mile away. There is a Lowes, red lobster, harbor freight, Walmart about a mile away.
We were driving from New York to Bowling Green Ohio to pick up our daughter from cheer camp. We needed to stop and get some much needed sleep. But because 2am in the morning very hard to find a place. The Best Western had rooms but I was hesitant as I had a really bad experience with a Best Western in PA. But to my surprise the rooms were really nice and clean. The bedding was amazing and I got a great nights sleep. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly and smiles all around. The breakfast was good too. I was granted a late check out without begging...Lol. The best eexperience and again it was a surprise. Stay here and you will not regret it!!!! Thank you Best Western!!!!!
Awesome work done by Isabella, for the check in process. Helped me with ice. lady the next morning made extra eggs and sausage patties because she realized I was up later than 9:25am I dont know her name for that Tuesday Morning
very clean place. would like a pool if i stayed longer . great full breakfast not just a bagel and muffins check in and out was fast Motel was in the center of town walk distance to many restaurants and the DuBois HARLEY-DAVIDSON dealer right down the way.
Friendly and helpful. Big part of stay was that I could have my dog stay too. Halls were smelly from cigarette smoke but I stayed in a non smoking room. Breakfast was good, fruit, eggs, sausage, bagels, English muffins, cereal, yogurt etc.
Hotel in Dire need of Upgrades. Staff was friendly and very helpful while we were there... Very nervous leaving my vehicle in that parking lot, rap music blasting loud from parking lot for a while but quieted done at night. Wall paper gave a dirty appearance to hotel.
I like to stay in Best Western hotel by using my membership. I use the room for a family of 3. So far I stay at this hotel in many town and countries, it is worth the money what I spend. Breakfast is good for a 3 start hotel.
Nice clean room, but with a bed that was not to comfortable. The shower was one of the better quality ones that I have been in in a while. Great water pressure. Didn't have grandkids with us, but Best Western has a beautiful playground & picnic area for children!
The price was great, the motel is very nice, and the region is gorgeous. We were traveling from Boston to Pittsburgh and DuBois is a perfect distance for the first day of the trip. From there it is just another 2 hours to Pittsburgh. Also, there is nothing like the beauty of the hills of Western Pennsylvania, which is I-80 and the region of DuBois.
After reading some of the reviews, I was not expecting too much. We had to change our plans last minute and needed a pet-friendly hotel. They had the last king suite room left between Clearfield and Dubois, so I booked it. Upon arrival, we were greeted with kindness by Nancy and the hotel was a gem. I don't know about other rooms, but we stayed in 204 and it was amazing. Clean, roomy and with all the amenities we could ask for. Had a wonderful stay and will definately be returning!! I'm very picky and I must say I had no complaints. Wonderful staff our entire stay--from the front desk to the cleaning staff--And they all loved our boy...Cool Hand Luke!
We were driving across country. Just right , good location, clean , quiet. The staff was pleasant and helpful, I would be happy to stay there again in the future. I had not stayed in a best western in past, but after our stay I joined the rewards club and booked the rest of the trip in Best Western hotels!
Room was very nice, the reception was very good as expected, the breakfast was very good, no complaints to speak of, the room was clean and the bathroom as well. Would stay here again. Senior rate was a bonus.
A little off the beaten path is an advantage for a quiet neighborhood near a quaint downtown. Enjoyed dinner at Luigi's and stumbled on an ice cream stand surrounded by old trains, some of which house nice eateries. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. No pool but a nice fitness room. Also, a very nice playground for families.
The location and price is great. The beds are very comfortable. The second floor is a smoking floor and it smells like it but if you are a smoker it will be one of the few hotels in the area that you will find a smoking room...and it allows pets which makes it a commodity if you are traveling with your pets. The house keepers are very polite and friendly, Jennifer that runs the breakfast keeps it nicely stocked and there is a good variety for a free breakfast. Plenty to do in the area.
General manager went above and beyond to make our stay an excellent one. Didn't have to nut made my wife very happy on a trip we have been planning for a long time. Hotel was very clean and room was very comfortable
This place is great! There is a good bit of places to eat! They are very pet friendly. They even give your dog a treat at check in! Comfortable beds good breakfast was good. Will definitely stay here again.
The Best Western Inn and Conference center is a very nice inn. The rooms are fresh and very clean. The staff at all levels were very friendly and helpful! The location of the inn is excellent for the Dubois area with many stores and restaurants near by. We had a great time and dinner at DOC G's brewery and restaurant with family and friends.
The room was clean, very comfortable, and updated. The continental breakfast was very good with a wide variety of breakfast foods, hot and cold. Staff was friendly and helpful. The value was extremely great! Would go back!
We stayed the nite before at the Hilton garden in in Rockville, with the exchange somehow it ended up being 270$ for the nite. The hotel was beautiful. Beds were ok. No breakfast unless you wanted to pay another 10$. This nite we stayed at the best western. It certainly wasn't as beautiful but it was clean, the beds were super comfy, the staff at the front desk were kind and helpful. And there was a free breakfast which included waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, cereal etc. I would go there again in a second!
Great stay...Great staff... Great rooms. We really enjoyed our stay and this hotel. All the employees were great and made our stay the best that it could be. The only issues is the there were no elevators in the conference center, and the breakfast was in the main hotel and you needed to walk across the parking lot to get there.
bathroom toilet wasn't clean, bed not so comfortable-but very nice pillows. Breakfast was sad, the quality of the food was poor. The driveway is in very poor condition - major potholes - be careful. This hotel has thin walls, you can hear the people in the next room conversing. This hotel is nice, but not one of the better more friendly ones I've stayed at.
This hotel is pet friendly, clean, and at a reasonable price. The bed was quite comfortable and the staff courteous. The free breakfast was nothing special but adequate. There is a nice children's playground next to the motel.
A great front desk staff gave me a free upgrade on my room and turned me onto a great pizza restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. I Will definitely stay there again the next time I'm in DuBois.
I was satisfied with the facility and amenities for the price I paid. In fact, it was the best deal I found on trivago.com. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - starting with my phone call requesting an early check-in which they graciously granted. Upon arrival, the front desk person was pleasant as well. The room was clean and comfortable. I know this is an older property dating back to at least the 1970's when it served as dorms for the Du Bois branch of Penn State University. They have apparently updated the facility a couple times over the years because you would never guess it were dorms or as old as it is. The bathroom was clean and modern and stocked with the usual soap and shampoo. The motel does have free WiFi which was adequate. There was a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge in the room although I used none of them. There was a LG LCD TV that was probably at least 32 - 40 inches that worked fine. The clock radio needed to be reset as it was about 1 hour and 20 minutes off the correct time. The continental breakfast was OK - not as extensive as some other motels but, again, it was the lowest price motel in the area. My only complaint was the in-room heating system didn't seem to work properly. It was in the low 30's outside so I turned the heating system on "Heat" and the temperature to 70 degrees. To my surprise, cold air came out of the unit. When I raised the temp to 71 - it took about 10 minutes to finally heat the room. After warming up the room, the unit cycled off as expected. The next heating cycle it did the same thing. After about 15 minutes of cold air blowing from the unit, I shut it down for the night. When I checked out, the front desk attendant asked if everything was OK with my stay. I told her about the heating issue. She said she would have it checked out. The next time I'm in Du Bois, I will definitely stay at this motel. I'll just make sure the heating/cooling unit is working OK before I unpack.
Had an enjoyable stay. Found the hotel to be very clean and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Stayed in a two bed room that was on the small side but had everything you need including a fridge. Breakfast had eggs, bacon and cheese to make a sandwich along with all of the other standards; waffle maker, yogurts, bread, cereal, juices, etc. Definitely would recommend.
A warm welcome, hot coffee and a chocolate brownie at check-in was pleasantly welcome! The room had everything expected for a hotel of this standard. The self laundry was great value and efficient. Just one issue (which has cost a star): The hotel was empty and at check-in the lady said we had 2 x queen beds. Being a married couple I asked if we could have a king bed instead to which she replied "Yes, but you will need to pay an upgrade of $20". I can't get my head around this? We stuck with the 2 Queen beds which used twice the condements and created twice he laundry, as well as longer to make up the room after use. Totally illogical charging structure. Anyway, great hotel and great location - especially for the best Italian food Zi've ever had from Louigi's down the road - see my other reviews!
While traveling south to Virginia, we broke up our trip by stopping in Du Bois and chose this hotel for our nights stay. We were happy with our whole experience here. The lobby was attractive upon arrival and our check in went quickly. Our room, with two double beds, was clean and fresh. The bathroom was large. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was quiet and efficient. After our good nights sleep, we partook of the abundant breakfast included in the room rate. There was cold cereal, waffles, pastries, and fruit all served in a clean, tidy and roomy area. The hotel is close to lots of restaurants and shopping venues. We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area.
Breakfast was great, staff is friendly, room can use some cleaning, hair in the tub, stains on the floor, papers in the Bible...really house keeping could use some help. Price was good and it is a great location.
Hotel was clean. Room was very small and expensive for a Saturday night. Priced dropped $100 for a Sunday night stay. Probably what it's worth. Would look to stay somewhere else next time. Money not well spent
Great room with a large bathroom and firm beds. Breakfast was included and was good with hot items as well as cereals and pastries. My only complaint would be that there was no lighting in the parking lot. Kind of creepy at night but you are very close to the building.
We stayed here for the Little League World Series. It was close enough to Williamsport but still an hour drive away. The hotel was old and in need of a renovation. The breakfast was bad. Even the waffles were not good and it's hard to ruin a waffle.
Nice town, It was a good nights sleep and staff very helpful. We went into town and had a nice meal. Then walked around town. Very pleasant. The room was clean, and breakfast we good, fresh and ample food for all of the guests.
A decent place to lay your head for the night. Nothing really fancy but gets the job done. Doesn't seem to be a rider friendly property as advertised on the BW website. This is important to me as I like to ride my motorcycle when I travel.
Stayed here while viewing the Elk. We were dog-sitting our kid's Boston Terrier and needed a hotel that accepts pets. Some pet-friendly hotels have rooms which have a distinct smell that are associated with pets. However, this was not the case here. The room was very clean and comfortable. The pet waiver was reasonable and we experienced no problems. The breakfast was good. All in all, if your in the vicinity of Dubois, Pa and need a place to stay with Fido, look no further than here. You won't be disappointed.
Pet friendly, clean and updated...I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling with pets...There is a nice courtyard/playground area away from the street where the pups can play after a long day in the car. Not much to look at on the exterior but definitely works on the interior
We stopped in DuBois on our way to NYC. This was one of the most charming towns we have ever found on the road. The Best Western was super reasonable, dog friendly, clean, and the staff was excellent. They made us all (including doggy) feel welcome. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff is so nice that one employee noticed the juice at breakfast was getting low and made a special effort to walk us over more juice when she replaced it.
Upon my arrival to this hotel I was immediately impressed. The front desk associate was friendly and warm and the lobby was neat. The free WIFI works great and was faster than I was expecting. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel is very quiet. I was simply passing through on my way home and needed somewhere to rest my head but I would return to this hotel in the future. I have stayed in more updated rooms but what ultimately matters the most, to me anyway, is cleanliness and comfort. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Clean with a great staff and complimentary breakfast. Highly recommend. good location close to food and stores also penn state. The people really make the place special I dealt with Jennifer and Rachelle. Could not ask for more
My husband, our dog and I had a very enjoyable one night stay at this hotel. Our king suite was well worth the extra money. We had a lot of room for ourselves and our pup. Our room was in the building next door, the conference center. It was very quiet without the lobby in the same building. The playground is much nicer I think than the picture shows. $12 extra for your pet, but well worth it. I was not able to use it, but they offered a day pass for the YMCA as well for all guests.
We were on motorcycles and heading home after being on the road for 8 days. Wasn't able to secure a reservation at a reasonable price. Called BW and found the Dubois, PA had two rooms available immediately and at a reasonable price. Rooms were neat and clean and the hotel was walking distance to a great smoke house/bar. BW has yet to fail me on any of my trips.
The lady that checked us in was especially nice even though she was busy. Whoever cleaned our room did an exceptional job. The cleaning staff are the reason for giving this location a great review. The breakfast was great and the tables were clean. We were able to bring our little dog too. We are grateful to be able to travel with our dog. I did mark the value down a bit as we were charged for her stay.
There for two nights. Room was comfortable and very quiet. Clean, decent bed, pillows were a little soft but that is the only negative to my stay. Check in was efficient and young lady at the desk exceeded my expectations. Checkout was painless. The breakfast was better then most and
This is a super-clean, well-run Best Western. The breakfast is great--hard boiled eggs, bacon, waffles, the works (not just sweet rolls like some other places). Rhonda, who runs the breakfast area, is fantastic. Great service!
Courteous check in and check out. Comfy beds, in room microfridge. Fairly quiet. I was not thrilled with the breakfast - but it was fine. It was well prepared and plentiful. Coffee was great! Everything was pretty good. I'll be back!
My wife and I stayed at the Best Western in DuBois PA. We waited 20 minutes before someone came to the desk to check us in at 9:20 at night while our baby was crying. It was after 10 pm before we had our room. Only one person was on staff and she said she had to clean rooms because they were over booked. When I complained about the wait, the lady only said “If you're unhappy you can talk to my manager in the morning, I'm not getting in trouble for this one.” We entered our room to find the carpet littered with dirt, debris, and stains. The floor was absolutely disgusting. I mentioned our issues to the front desk manager in the morning and she told us she agreed that the floors in the hotel are terrible, but that hotel ownership wasn't doing anything about them. There was no service recovery offered. She only had me fill out a comment card so that hotel management can see how issues affect guests. After leaving I called the Best Western corporate office and told them of my issues with this stay. They only offered me to become a Best Western rewards member and gave me 4,000 points towards a free stay. Those points aren't enough to redeem for anything on their rewards website and after this why would we want to stay multiple more times to earn a free stay. Terrible room and terrible customer service!
Discovered during an 8 day trip that Best Western is biker friendly. It was nice to have a place to keep the bike out of the rain overnight. There was on site laundry available which was very important after being on the road on a bike for a week.
Got another suit very good helpful staff rooms clean room was more than i could imagine very nice. If you need a cab their is a cab in town cab ride was very nice and clean.i have no complaints. Breakfast. Real eggs, waffles blueberry, chocolate,Bacon, sausage. Hot continental, they rotate between days they offer brownies at night i would stay their again loved it.
We only needed to a place to stay on our way back home from a family trip for one night. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean, the a/c was nice and cool, the beds were comfy soft with a fluffy comforter opposed to a duvet and fluffy pillows. Breakfast was ok - the best option was breadlike items and waffles. The eggs were freeze dried and the bacon was in the shape of a circle. Didn't try the eggs but they looked unappealing. Clean and neat hotel all around.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast and not a bad price. Quiet area but in the middle of everything. We have stayed here three years in a row when visiting family in Mahaffey and have always been satisfied with the ease of check-in & check-out, the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms. Enjoyed the wireless internet on my kindle and two of the three years we enjoyed the breakfast. Staff very friendly and price thru AARP isn't bad. WE plan on using this hotel in the future!
Average hotel with courteous staff, but filthy room. Carpet and furniture was badly stained and smelled. I accept that a "pet friendly" hotel is likely to have some spots but this was way beyond acceptable.
On our trips from CT to OH, we always split the drive and stay at the Best Western in Clearfield, PA (about 30 minutes East of Dubois). We decided to try this Best Western instead so we could get a head start in the morning and arrive in Ohio 30 minutes earlier. We regretted this decision. The rooms had a dingy and dirty feeling, and there were stains on the carpet and chair. Bathrooms also dingy. The fitness center was the same--not well cleaned, the one treadmill was broken, and there no cups for water. Breakfast was ok and the employees were very nice, but we will sacrifice the 30 minutes and stay back in Clearfield from now on--it is much nicer and is the same price. (Maybe we would consider the Dubois Best Western again if it were $50 less, but at the same price, no way.)
Stayed one night on way back to NY from a wedding in Michigan. Friendly staff, in a nice area with many food choices. The breakfast included was well presented in a nice atmosphere. Don't miss Dr. Doolittles cafe and creamery just down the road and a very special kudos to the chef and staff at the local Ruby Tuesdays.
We just spent the night as we were traveling. Got there very late, desk clerk was very nice and got us a room promptly. Room was very nice, spacious & clean. Bed was very comfortable. They did have a continental breakfast, but we opted not to have any.
It was roomy, nice, comfortable bed, clean, full sized mirror and lighted make up mirror, iron, hair dryer and clean. We had a nice breakfast but not over the top great. There was wireless that was speedy in the a.m.
Very pet friendly. All in all a good stay. Would stay again if happened to be passing this way again. Helpful staff. Good location. All essential needs met including fridge in room. Even got free brownies at check in on second stay.
Clean, quiet room. Convenient location, close to the 219 and DuBois Harley Davidson.. Although there wasn't a restaurant on site, there were several options nearby. We highly recommend the DuBois Diner for breakfast!
On way to Ohio, stayed one night and was fine. Clean, but pretty small room. Offered passes to YMCA for pool and fitness. Breakfast was ok in the morning. Close access to I-80, which was important to us.
The Best Western in Dubois, PA was very handy to my travel route, the property was clean and the room was recently remodeled. The staff was very helpful in regards to local restaurants. The location of the hotel was such that i was able to keep my window open and there was virtually no road noise and i awoke to chirping of birds. Very nice
I was impressed about the cleanness of our room and how comfortable the beds were. I stayed here some 5 years ago and it wasn't that good then. We usually stay at the Homewood Suites with points, but since we had our dog with us we had to chose a different and pet friendly hotel. I can highly recommend this hotel.
The stay was wonderful. We traveled an hour out of our way for the Jacuzzi tub for our wedding night and it was absolutely worth it! The breakfast was great and very tasty. I've never seen such a spread for a continental breakfast.
The room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The extra's seem to fall through the cracks. The key cards don't work on outside doors, the wifi was down, and the exercise room is tiny with broken equipment. Overall, I would probably stay again due to the cleanliness and reasonable rates.
Overall a positive experience. Nothing fancy but the room was comfortable, Breakfast was good and the staff was helpful. A good place to stay when traveling I80. No negatives to report. I would recommend this location to others.
Hotel was nothing fancy but very nice for what we needed. Just passing through on a roadtrip so we stayed one night here; wasn't expecting a whole lot but the room was decent size, comfy beds, and nice bathroom/shower, with ample parking. One downside was that we got a basement room so we could hear people upstairs somewhat, but it wasn't terribly loud. Breakfast was also included and they had a great selection! Also recommend the Italian Oven pizza place down the road; area also had a lot of options for food
The staff was very friendly and the rooms where clean. A great place to stay if you are traveling with a pet. The free breakfast was one of the best I ever had at a hotel. The make yourself waffles were great, I loved that they had strawberries for choice of topping. We will stay here again.
A nice clean and comfortable place to stay. The grounds were well kept and staff was very friendly... The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was great. The food was fresh and there were plenty of choices... We will stay here on our next trip...
Fantastic rate from Trip Advisor. Room was clean and fresh smelling. Breakfast selections had run out (no eggs or waffle mix) and took a while to replenish. But once that was done, there were plenty of food choices. I'd recommend this hotel without question.
Hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was accommodating and friendly. A nice breakfast with hot and cold items. Rooms were very quiet. Hotel was close to the mall and other stores, but yet had a country feel.
The room was nicely furnished with a large desk, good internet, very comfortable bed. There is ample parking even if towing a trailer. Nice staff. The breakfast was above average with a staff person replenishing with fresh food and keeping the area clean and organized.
We had a very pleasant stay and they are very pet friendly. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and made sure we were comfortable in our room. It was very clean and the temperature was comfortable.
Had a wonderful wedding reception for my daughter. Everything was perfect. Conference Center was clean. Staff was very helpful in our needs. Would plan another family function using the Conference Center in DuBois, PA.
It was a long walk in the rain from the parking lot to room 101 but worth it. The room was spacious and had everything you expect. Micro wave, refrigerator, large flat screen tv, hi fi that was fast. Room was clean and well laid out.
Driving cross-country from Chicago to New York. I routinely stay at Marriott or Hilton however I had my dog with me and both chains are anti pet. The Best Western Dubois was clean neat with plenty of room. Bed and pillows comfortable. Their staff was very kind professional and accommodating. They were very accommodating with my dog. The room was very reasonably priced. I had such a good experience that I probably will now stay at Best Western without my pet.
The staff here is great! They were engaging and friendly they even took time to speak to our little boy and ask him about his teddy bear. The room was a bit lack luster. There were stains on the carpet and furniture, plus the room was on the tight side. I couldn't bring the luggage rack into the room and had to unload and load from the hallway while fighting with the door that kept trying to close.
Our room was tiny but clean. The double beds seemed more like big twin beds and the mattresses need updating. Breakfast was very good and had great choices. Very friendly and appreciative staff. Pet friendly, which was great!
Easy access off Interstate. Pet friendly. Has a playground, perfect for families with young kids. Free breakfast and wifi. Comfortable beds. Clean. Friendly and welcoming staff. Not much to complain about!
It was a non-smoking room as requested and very clean and pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were the most comfortable I have ever encountered in a hotel. Room had a dorm-sized fridge, desk, tv with a "clean" remote, coffeemaker with sanitary wrapped pod holder and all cups were plastic wrapped. Luggage racks in closet and heat lamp in bathroom. It was a good bargain for the price.
terrible. 9 professional business executives came to stay at the best western in dubois. we requested that we leave at 6:30 am and wanted a hot breakfast in the morning prior to our leave. they rudely refused. we were treated very disrespectfully. In turn we were scheduled to stay 2 more weeks. we chose to leave because of the server in the morning.
The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice. Wifi worked great and the room was nice. Breakfast was your basic but items were fresh and plentiful. Only complaint I had was that I requested a quiet room then they put noisey neighbors around me at 12am. Not much sleep.
Stayed here while laying over between deliveries in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Motel was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Only thing resembling a complaint was that the wifi was a bit slow.
We stayed here to travel to Punxsutawney for Groundhog Day. Location was perfect for us. We stayed in the conference center building and had to go upstairs there was no elevator, but I knew that at time of reservation, so that wasn't a problem for us. The room was clean and quiet. The beds were amazing, my husband and I slept very well. The staff was friendly and helpful at check in and out. They extend the breakfast on this day from 3 am to 9:30 to accommodate the early risers but we left before 2, so we only had grab and go breakfasts, but they hit the spot. Would definitely stay here again if we head out to visit Punxsutawney Phil again and would recommend it to others as well!
We picked this hotel because we were hunting grouse in the area and they allowed our dog in the room, the breakfast included meant we could save time and get back out hunting. The hotel is within a reasonalble drive of the elk heard in Elk county. All the B & B and hotels in the area either didn't allow dogs or didn't offer breakfast.
I've stayed at this hotel many times and always satisfied. My son goes to college at Penn State DuBois and the hotel is right across from the college which is nice. All the staff are nice and professional and the rooms are updated, clean and smells nice. Would recommend if looking for a hotel in the area.
The room was about as inexpensive as one could hope for and the room is as nice as a $350 / night hotel. Nicely decorated, comfortable mattress and pillow, clean, looks like it is brand new. I have been through Dubois before and this is the nicest room I have had here so far. It is well worth the money, Dubois is a small place, so it is easy to get around the entire area. Breakfast was good too, even if it was standard free breakfast food, I had the Canadian bacon and egg patties, they were not over cooked and were hot. I pass on the carbs, but they had the waffle machine, pastries, cereals etc. The front desk staff was very nice on our check in and a different front desk worker greeted us at breakfast as did other workers. Even the hallway to our room was in great shape.
Great last minute choice. We were promptly checked in. Room was updated and sheets were cleaned. I always inspect closely and this hotel passed my standards. Plenty of soft towels in the bathroom. Internet was fast and the TV was big. I would recommend.
I've stayed in lots of places, but in this price category, the BW Inn in Dubois is just about the finest. It is clean, bright, and has an excellent staff. The breakfast buffet is only four stars, but the room itself could hardly be bested, and the fitness center was a pleasant surprise: all the equipment was modern and all of it worked!
Want a quiet, comfortable sleep? An amazing breakfast with cheerful staff? A hotel near enjoyable amenities? This is the place I stay always when I visit Dubois! It is a long ride on 80 ad this hotel is perfectly positioned going East or West. The people who run this location know the meaning of "courtesy."
We recently were in the DuBois area to visit family members and opted to stay at Best Western. Without a doubt, it was the best stay we have had in years in any of the chain motels. Large and comfy room, excellent mattresses, handicap facilities and above all else. very clean. The clerk was most accommodating in assisting with a mixed-up reservation (caused by Expedia) and we found that the service was great. The better-than-usual Continental breakfast the next morning was hot, tasty, and plentiful. Over all, one of the best experiences we have had in a motel in years. Would highly recommend it as an economical, yet very comfortable place to stay.
This is the prefect place to go escape everyday stresses. The rooms here are kept very clean. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is outstanding. I will defiantly be staying here again in the future!
We have not stayed at this hotel before, but we would certainly stay here again. It is close to the interstate, but despite that, it was very quiet at night and we could not here the traffic. Restaurants are nearby and the hot breakfast was certainly up to par with other BW hotels.
The place was quiet, nice and clean but the breakfast area wasn't as inviting as others. Also, the steps up and down to the rooms in the conference building wrapped around and you couldn't see who or what might be waiting on the other side. A mirror would easily solve this problem.
This hotel was great for our overnight stay on the drive across the country to Connecticut. We didn't spend much time in the hotel but the rooms were clean and comfortable. We requested adjoining rooms and got them - we were in the conference center building on the first floor which in this case meant we were very pleased with the private and quiet room location! Thanks!!
Best beds and pillows ever! Beautiful suite and this was the first time I ever took a bath at a hotel nice size tub the furniture and set up the room was very comfortable would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family
We stayed here for one night on our way from New York to Montana. The staff were very helpful and the property was comfortable. We were particularly impressed with the generous pet exercise area and other outdoor amenities. We don't have kids but this would be perfect for traveling with children, as there is a lovely playground on-site, along with some BBQs and picnic tables. It is a bit of a drive away from the interstate, but it is well-signed and easy to find.
An excellent place to stop off between midwest and east coast. Staff are always on top of the service. The rooms have never missed. It is an excellent value. They accommodate pets which is a plus for our family. If you have the time the town of Du Bois is fun to explore with its long history. A number of excellent restaurants but after 10:00 PM the pickings are slim.
This motel was largely deserted upon our arrival, which was a bit nerve racking. Everything was what a motel should be, but the creepy factor remained even to the pizza delivery person who commented on it.
Best Western in DuBois, Pennsylvania offers excellent non-smoking rooms, helpful staff, pet friendly services and definitely non-smoking rooms. No reason to not stay here as the Best Western is minutes from restaurants, shopping and medical needs.
The hotel was pleasant, clean and mostly friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast was good with both hot and cold foods. Price was reasonable and compared with other hotels in the area. This hotel is also pet friendly and appeared to put guests with pets in a separate part of the building.
we had to stop for the night on our drive, to Virginia. the girl at the desk was very nice, and checked us in very quickly, found my reward #'s for me & registered me for a promotion I didn't know about. our room was clean, and a decent size. our bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
Traveling to visit family and friends we stopped here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Though there were a number of truck drivers the place was clean and quiet. The room was a bit small, but we were using points, so maybe this is one of those "free" rooms. Bathroom was also small. But given everything else, it was clean and quiet.
