Best Western Plus River Escape Inn & Suites

This is a great place to relax with friends with ample seating on the deck right above the rushing river. We could have stayed closer to the conference on campus, but the river and the rural location made the extra 8 minute drive worth it. You are still close to restaurants, shops, and the wonderful City Lights Bookstore. The river soothes you to sleep so I recommend a room with a balcony view.

Hotel was clean snd safe but the WiFi in my end of the hall ‘suite' was horrible. Staff was aware that coverage was limited in these rooms. This made working very difficult without my cell phone hot spot (which consumed a lot of data).

I had a one-night stay at the Best Western Plus River Escape Inn & Suites for a business trip, and it was a great experience. It was quiet, very clean, there was a nice selection of breakfast options in the morning and the service was excellent. Definitely would stay here again for leisure!

Lovely local area and I had a room with a river view. You do not receive daily maid service unless you request it by 8am the next day. Fresh towels and room coffee and trash pickup upon request and/or pickup by front desk. Breakfast was great including server. Beds high and hard as a rock.

The balcony and watching the river was beautiful! There was a lady that worked breakfast each morning and she was amazing, kind, and great personality! The only negative was how small the elevator was and normally I would use stairs but had to help my sister with my special needs niece. No one else could fit in at same time. But that is minor considering how wonderful everything else was

Love this Hotel! Its peaceful, clean and comfy. Listening to the river and enjoying the view was so relaxing. I would stay here everytime I come to this area. I have a touch of OCD and the room did not disappoint me at all

Our 2-night stay at this Best Western was very enjoyable! The staff was friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast was varied and good. The hot tub was hot (!) and relaxing after a day of sightseeing and travel. The view of the river just outside our room was very nice--just as the photo shows! It was also nice to be able to get some exercise in the exercise room, where the equipment seemed to be functioning. I would recommend this motel!

It truly is worth it to get a room with a river view. It's absolutely gorgeous. Doesn't matter if it's winter or summer. The pool is a great and we loved that they had towels available to guests. The breakfast was good, with plenty of options. Loved the coffee machine with the hot chocolate option.

I rarely leave a review of our stay, usually just fill out a survey. But we were so impressed with our stay. The River Escape Inn is a hidden gem and exceeded our expectations. Staff was great, overall aesthetic of the hotel was great, our room was large with everything we needed. We normally don't turn the tv on, but it was Sunday night football and we didn't have plans so I have to brag on the big screen television. The bed was so comfortable. And OUR VIEW! I could have sat on the balcony all day. So very peaceful.

This was our 5th visit to the River Escape Best Western. Always love it., We make sure to get a room facing the river and relax on the balcony or patio to enjoy. All staff we've met have been great. Breakfast has a great variety and coffee hot. We'll go back in 6 months, like always.

Lovely Hotel. Great staff. Very honest workers here. Found my purse and kept it safe for me. Thank you Marissa & Staff! Good breakfast, too. Plentiful and very clean eating and serving area. The lady working the area was very nice.

Free Breakfast that kept us full till lunch while hiking and tubing. Helpful Friendly staff. The cutiest little town 5 minutes away with some amazing eats! You must splurge at the Chocolate Factory and Foragers. The river at your feet or on your feet if you so desire. 15 mins from Blue Ridge Parkway. 20 mins from Cherokee and Deep River. All at a pace that says slow down, enjoy it.

Stayed here in the past because it's close to Smoky Mountain RR.and Western Carolina University campus. Enjoy watching rafters on the river. Some new restaurants nearby. Half hour drive to Casinos. Near Blue Ridge Parkway

Wasn't bad until we went up to our room to grab our bags to check out after breakfast. Door lock won't work. No maintenance on site. No manager on site. Maintenance guy shows up but can't get in either. Took hours before someone figured out how to Hotwire it. Later heard the maintenance guy say they were aware of an issue with this lock but had no spares so instead of replacing it they just hoped it would be ok.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary, and we will def make this our place to go, in future. It is such a lovely place. Nestled in the mountains but also alongside the river, and rooms overlooking the river have balconies. We were on the 3rd floor, and actually slept with the patio door open so that we fell asleep to the sound of the river rushing over the stones. When we first checked in, Marissa was at he desk, and she is polite and friendly, and very helpful. They have a chair lift to hep disabled people (like me) get in and out of the pool and I mentioned I was so glad about that as I was looking forward to using the pool. Unfortunately the battery was dead and they were unable to get one that would fit it, the replacement they had previously bought hadn't been correct. She called the room and apologised again and gave us a discount for the "inconvenience". Breakfast was a help yourself with biscuits, scrambled eggs, gravy, sausage patties one day and bacon the next (I wish they'd had both on offer together but the warmer was small), pastries, apples, yoghurts, coffee, juices, hot chocolate and pancakes. It was a decent spread for those who liked everything on offer! Plenty for children to choose from. The lady who kept the breakfast bar replenished was also very chatty and welcoming. I found my bed to be comfy, we had 2 queens in a disabled suite, hubby not so much, but we both slept well. The room was clean and fresh smelling (as was the hallway) and the shower was easy to roll into, had a seat, and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. For me, they were hard to use, but somebody without issues could probably squeeze them ok. For train enthusiasts (we were staying here to enjoy a ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad) the line from Bryson City to Dillsboro passes right in front of the hotel parking lot. As we arrived, we were lucky enough to watch it go through. We loved this hotel and will def return.

Clean rooms, beautiful location along the river. Close to shops & restaurants. Friendly staff, nice hot breakfast. Room was large & well stocked. Good internet connection, clean lobby & restrooms. Would stay here again

The hotel was in a very quiet place bu itself next to a river. Check in was painless and professional. Very close to Asheville and the hotel did not break the wallet. The rooms were very clean overlooking the river. Our room had a balcony and it was what we needed after the long drive. The sound of rushing water. All the people who worked there was friendly, courteous and caring. The pool and the jacuzzi was clean and decent. Awesome place. Very close to Asheville. Some beautiful scenic drives near the hotel on way to Asheville.

Lovely room facing river, but on the main floor you have people walking by your room. Short distance to town but on Sunday a few restaurants were closed The room was extra large. We would go back there if we are ever traveling in that area.

This property is located directly on the Tuckasegee River and offers ample seating to enjoy the view and experience the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast does not disappoint. A full meal is offered consisting of eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, cereal with extra toppings, yogurt and fruit. A variety of pastries, bread, and bagels are also available.

The view of the river from a river front room or the deck is wonderful and peaceful. The staff is very friendly and helpful also. The rooms have a nice sized refrigerator. The pillows are a mixture of softer and harder depending what you like. Breakfast is nice because you can eat inside in the AC or outside on the deck overlooking the river. there is a nice workout room, a little pool and a hot tub. You can walk to quaint downtown Dillsboro on the train tracks right in front of hotel. It takes 5 minutes. Only a scenic train runs once an a while. Great location for your mountain activities whether it be a little rafting, hiking or going to Dillsboro and Sylva to shop or eat at some wonderful restaurants and breweries.

Lovely quick getaway to Dillsboro. The hotel had amazing riverfront property with ample space to sit and enjoy. Very generous continental breakfast as well. Would definitely stay again the next time we visit!

We went here for a quick getaway on the 4th. It was packed, but the staff did their best! You get a river view in the back and get train views in the front. We got to see a 1942 steam engine. It was great.

I have stayed there 3 times in 12 months. Everytime everything was great. The room,pool, hot tub, breakfast and service. Will be back asap. I enjoy the view from the room and the deck in the back over looking the river.

This hotel was adorable. Right on the river, beautiful and clean rooms. They have a great size indoor pool and hot tub, and a fire pit. The internet is spotty but really that was my only issue. Kid friendly and great staff. Will definitely stay again.

My wife and I were just denied service while trying to check into a Best Western that I had made a reservation at weeks before - because we are considered “local”. I called the Best Western customer service line and was informed that “lots of hotels have individual policies that Best Western itself has no control over”. Obviously being refused service because a policy considers me to be a “local” (I live in a neighboring town) seems bad business at best and discriminatory at worst. While I understand some hotels have this policy in place to prevent a group of local kids from carting in drugs and alcohol and partying, or to keep rooms available to out-of-towners - regardless - calling something "policy" doesn't make it ethical. My wife is a 59 year old teacher with severe arthritis, an artificial knee and an artificial hip - who stands on her feet all day long on a concrete floor giving every ounce of energy she has to educating children. After a recent bout of pneumonia robbed her of a birthday vacation we had planned, I just wanted to give her a night to soak in a tub and relax. I took time off of work for this, and made the reservation well in advance. Best Western could have - at any time - informed us of this "policy" - but instead chose not tell us until after we'd packed our bags and driven over to the hotel. We were so excited and planned on making this - at the very least - a monthly thing for ourselves. That's money in your pocket, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why our money is not good enough. Best Western - how do you justify this? What will you do to make it up to us?

Let me start out the hotel has a great view and the rooms are not bad did find little mold in air conditioning unit if you stay here Do Not Leave Anything valuable in your room and do not leave anything when checked out you're not getting it back also check your credit card for extra charges their something going on between the workers and managers seems little shady but it's a nice hotel to be a Best western it's a shame needs new management

For $300/night I expect a working bathroom. Shampoo holder was completely empty and one bottle was empty and on the counter. Took asking five people before one bottle ws filled and other left on the on the counter. Hotel is not walking distance to the little town. I would book a room in Sylva for less money and have a bigger town within walking distance. Breakfast was same as a Hampton Inn....not fresh.

Management refused to review my bill with me, after I'd spent 2 weeks there. They also charged me twice for one of the nights. Also, they refused to acknowledge about 200.00 dollars worth of goods stolen from my room. Beware if you stay here. P.S. They also refused to give me a lamp shade. And there is mold on the ceilings.

We stayed at a room that was right next to the creek. The bed was adequate. The balcony was nice with two chairs were you can just sit out and relax. Heater was noisy. There are some restaurants nearby. We ventured out and explored North Carolina. We happened upon a casino that had great food. I would stay here again. We were here for 2 nights.

Hotel was extremely clean. View of the river was beautiful. Pool and hot tub were both clean and worked. Staff was helpful and very caring of our needs during our stay. Rates were very reasonable and affordable.

We have stayed at Best Western River Escape several times over the last few years.It's a wonderful and restful place to be and the staff has always been excellent. We love the river view patio and always request ground floor. Nice to have our own private patio. Very close to all the shops and restaurants in beautiful Dillsboro.

It is a great place to stay when visiting great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina. It just need a little more driving time but it is clean and staffs were friendly. The location is by the river, it is less than 1 mile to Dillsboro town where you can have restaurants, bars and shops etc.

This location has an excellent view of a bridge and railroad cars and is on the Tuckasegee River. The customer service was extremely good. I enjoyed that they offered alcoholic beverages for purchase on-site as well as the normal sodas, water and snacks. There are balconies for the river view rooms and the hotel is less than a mile away from downtown Dillsboro, which is a quaint, small town with many local restaurants and is within 20 minutes of Cherokee. The rooms are extremely clean and modern. The beds are soft and there are plenty of outlets. I did not notice a freezer with the refrigerators in the room and the walls were a little thinner than I would expect, but it was still a quiet, pleasing night. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting nearby Cherokee or other towns in Swain County or even a brief stop on the way to Asheville. You will feel like you are in a 4-star hotel at 2-3 star prices.

I stayed here while in town for a friend's wedding. I returned from the wedding and my room key did not work. The front desk employee, Lydia, was unable to unlock the room for me using many “master keys” and told me nothing could be done to get into the room that night. She told me she was stressed and needed a cigarette and walked away from helping me to do so. 2 hours later she gave us another room to sleep in and told us maintenance would be there first thing in the morning to open the door. I ended up sleeping in my contacts and the dress I wore to the wedding, unable to access any of my belongings. The next morning, I spoke with Gretta at the front desk who tells me maintenance is still working on opening the door. I sat in the lobby for another 3 hours until maintenance was able to give us access to the room. The maintenance man said “I don't know why they didn't call me last night. I was on call and live very close.” All of this caused me to miss my flight home. Unfortunately, it was too late to cancel my flight for a refund, and I had to book another flight. On top of this, I asked Gretta, the front desk attendant, to kindly write her name and the attendant from the previous night's name down for me. She proceeded to yell at me and tell me that she had just returned from vacation and the night attendant was new and that it was not their fault. I spoke with Best Western customer care to report the horrific incident. I was told I would get a response to my simple request to reimburse me for my flights in 2-5 days. I had to call back several times over the course of 3 months and was finally told that it could not be done. What was supposed to be a great weekend celebrating a close friend, turned into a nightmare. I find it absurd that I did not receive an apology of any kind and that Best Western could not right its wrongs.

Very much enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. Efficient and friendly staff and lovely breakfast and beautiful views. Coming back next week for five days while perusing the fall colors!

A one night stopover in Dillsboro/Sylva NC led us to this gem of a hotel. We were quickly checked in with a smile and some local dining suggestions. Our room was spotless, comfortable, well-appointed and had a balcony view of the river where we could sit and relax. The bed was super comfy and provided a great night's sleep. This hotel stay included a full hot breakfast. The coffee was fresh and delicious (good quality). There was a great selection of hot and cold foods and the buffet was spotless and well attended. The dining area faces the river so you can take in the beautiful views while you eat. This hotel went way beyond our expectations.

Very relaxing hotel. Wonderful outdoor area on the river - I recommend staying riverside because of the views. The outdoor areas are clean & maintained. There are grills if you want to cook out. There are plenty of good restaurants close by. Most of the staff are wonderful & will help you w/ whatever you need. There is a heated pool.

Views of the river and area mountains were great. Motel itself was not located in a pretty area. Has a constant coming and going of trucks because of the rock quarry. This happens during daylight hours. Quiet time will be in the evening hours.

Staff would not process a rewards member non-refundable room rate for an extra night of stay. Even when I went down to the check-out/check-in attendant and showed her my rate on the app;!they would not proceed it for me; “ They made me go back up to my room where my credit card was and said I have to do it myself on the app to get the rate I wanted. Inexcusable! I got corporate involved and the hotel manager. I got a free night and assured of a written warning given to the guest services attendant

Highly recommend. Clean, comfortable room. Had a beautiful view of the river! Great customer service. Breakfast bar was so much nicer than expected! Great variety with a nice selection of hot foods made fresh each morning. We will definitely stay again!

My youngest son had a long weekend so we decided to find a hike or two in the mountains. We stayed the night in this hotel. We had a room with 2 queen beds and a balcony overlooking the river. That balcony is well worth the small extra fee. I got so relaxed sitting out there that it seemed I'd never get my blood pressure high enough to get out of the chair! Great trip and opportunity to have time with my "boy"!

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable especially Ms Worley. The room was was clean and the river view was fantastic. We will definitely return to this place. The breakfast was great. The parking lot was very open spaces wad secured.

With such a beautiful picture of the hotel and the great reviews, I had high expectations. I wonder if those reviewers stayed at the same hotel. While the terrace overlooking the river is lovely, the river sounds are almost lost to the roar of air conditioners. Our room was badly mildewed though reasonably clean otherwise. Finally, the breakfast was just awful. They feature something inedible they call "egg plops," lacking for any other name for it. We stayed four days and did have a reprieve from the plops on one day. The coffee is acceptable but the orange juice seemed too sweet to be natural. The good news is that the staff was lovely and friendly, it's not their fault!

I had a very nice stay here, while traveling for work. I thought I only needed to stay one night, but ended up needing to stay another, so I spent the night in two different rooms. One was a king bed suite, facing the parking lot. The other room was a first floor 2 queens room with a river view. Both of the rooms were clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable in both rooms. The tv had lots of channel options available, which can't be said for a lot of hotels. The location of the hotel is what really sets it apart. Work only allows me a certain stipend for lodging, but glad I spent extra out of pocket money for this hotel. I got takeout for dinner and ate it outside on the deck, overlooking the river. So peaceful. The second night, I had breakfast included with the stay, and sat out on the rocking chair outside my room to drink my coffee and eat. Was a very nice way to start the day, perfect way to get centered and focus on the busy day ahead. The breakfast had a nice assortment of hot and cold breakfast items, from bagels and muffins, fruit and yogurt, to eggs and protein options. The first morning they had scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. The second morning they had sausage and little omelets. I normally don't eat breakfast, but since it was included with the stay... why not? Lastly, shoutout to the manager working both of those nights, Josh. Long story short, but he was able to find a room for me when I wound up having to unexpectedly stay longer, when the options weren't looking so good. The hotel was booked solid for that second night, but a last minute cancellation saved the day, and so did Josh! Overall, a super pleasant stay here. Will book in the future, and won't mind paying a little extra for a guaranteed nice stay!

Beautiful location and views. Very nice hotel and area but a bit overpriced. Excellent staff and service. Very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast bar and kept well stocked and clean. Will definitely stay again! Excellent area restaurants.

First visit to this area and we were extremely lucky to get a room that looked out at the river. Wonderful view and very relaxing being able to sit on the balcony to enjoy the view. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Nice selection at breakfast and Inn provided an attendant who was very friendly and attentive to our needs if we needed help. Definitely stay here if we are in this area again.

Great spot nestled in the mountains. This property is very well-managed. Clean, comfortable, and very hospitable. There's plenty around to walk to and enjoy. Just staying on the property and enjoying the amenities and view is good enough.

A gem nestled behind the quaint town of Dillsboro, you will find your River escape. With a breakfast that exceeds that of your average hotel, you will also find a snack room with every craving covered from a glass of wine to popcorn and ice cream. Enjoy your stay by relaxing on the deck overlooking the river from the main lobby or your room (just make sure to pick “River View”!

The riverfront location couldn't be more relaxing, refreshing or beautiful, with only water and trees in sight. The staff members were as welcoming and warm as the setting! We do hope to return in the not too distant future.

We stayed at the Best Western River Escape Inn & Suites this month and had a wonderful experience! The front desk staff was spot-on in their check-in and information sharing. Our room was ready, clean, and had such an amazing view of the Tuckseegee River. Our grandson tubed from above the property to the property, which was perfect without going deep in the river. The next morning we watched rafters and fishermen going down the river. If you are looking for a quiet stay in Dillsboro, this is your place!

After multiple attempts we finally got to stay at this property, and I'm glad we did. The property is very nice, we had a river view balcony room. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Check-in was quick. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We'll definitely stay here again.

I wish all hotels were like this! Beautiful view of the river. You can actually walk into the river and fish or relax on the rocks. Lovely outdoor patio and walkway next to the river. Firepit in the evening. Beautiful balcony views. Clean room. Wonderful staff. I have nothing but good to say about this hotel. Even the price was nice!

Very quiet rooms. Almost no noise from other rooms. Even the bathroom was insulated. You could barely hear the toilet flush. Very comfortable bed. Scenic river view. Friendly staff. what more could you ask for?

The front desk guy Josh…… I can't say enough good things about him. He's awesome! So friendly and so helpful. He made my stay better just by seeing his smiling face every time I walked by. The place was very quiet. Beautiful scenery, and loved the pool.

Bad experience. Totally dissatisfied with stay. In the last 15months,of our 1st visit, the quality of the Hotel has dropped significantly.Wasted over $100 to stay there for amenities that did not work. Should not be listed as a Best Western Plus. Will stay elsewhere next time.

I've stayed at this property before & was very pleased with that stay that's why I chose this property again. Very disappointed with my overall all stay, I checked, I requested top floor per reservation, the room assigned was on the 2nd floor, deadbolt lock DID NOT work(not safe), toilet was nasty, went to front desk, GM changed room. The new room assigned wasn't any better, toilet nasty, 1 bed looked as if it had been used, the door to the balcony is extremely had to open & the pressure from the door being so hard to open makes it sounds as if someone is trying to break-in the entry door to the room, bathroom & toilet nasty in this room as welll. Internet would NEVER connected to my devices during my whole stay. Quality & cleanliness, price of hotel fell way below standards & I was not offered any type of compensation for any of the issues

I WAS going to give this place a great review, but then the smoke detector went off at 1:30 a.m. and ruined my tiny vacation. I wasn't blaming the manager at all, but this was not handled professionally. I was told that I'm “paying for more than my bed”. She accused me of threatening her, and also said that she was calling the police on me because I used the “f” word. Is this how you handle guests?? I would like a corporate response, please.

Great location on the river. Friendly, helpful staff, spacious rooms, entire hotel (rooms, lobby, breakfast area, and exterior) are all clean and well-maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Great location close to Gatlinburg, Waynesville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hotel is in great shape, super clean, remodeled up to date. We stayed in a king suite and it was comfortable, great bed, and cold AC. Quite, perfect along a rushing river. They had a nice river walk with rocking chair to relax after a day in the Smokies The entire staff were friendly and seemed to love their jobs. We could not see one negative thing!

Very clean hotel and comfortable beds. Love the back porch view over-looking the River. Close to the downtown Dillsboro area.stayed just the one night but would definitely like to visit again. They do have rooms available overlooking the River as well.

Location, Location - This hotel is located on the river with a fantastic view. The room was very clean, roomy and comfortable. I sat on the balcony and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The hotel also served a very good hot breakfast.

Basic Best Western Hotel. Not great, but adequate. The location is what sells this property. Absolutely gorgeous location on the river. Outside of town on a dead end road. No noise except nature. Western NC is perfect for sightseeing and hiking

If you like to do a lot of sightseeing on your vacation, this is the place to stay. After long days of sightseeing, it was wonderful to return to the Best.Western River Escape and just sit on our patio and listen to the river's flow. Although our days were filled with fun activities, we started them off with a good breakfast sitting at one of the tables on the patio overlooking the river. We looked forward to coming back to the hotel in the evening and sitting on our private patio and watching and listening to the river as we talked about our day's events. It was a wonderful experience with my grandkids. As my granddaughter said, “I would give this hotel a 10 out of 10”.

This Best Western is one of two that have always made our stay something special. The facility is very nice as well as comfortable. The location is perfect for us to visit the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. There are excellent restaurants nearby. The staff are always helpful and courteous.

This hotel is located somewhat out of the way, but it is situated in a perfect place right along the river. Each room has a separate patio or balcony which overlooks the river. We sat in rockers outside our room watching kayakers go by. The room and beds are quite comfortable. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is it.

Our trip to Best Western Plus River Escape Inn & Suites was so relaxing. The staff, location and everyone was wonderful. If the good Lord gives us additional time we will be returning. Loved the town of Dillsboro

We didn't know what to expect of a hotel in this small town … but it was perfect. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Our room overlooking the river was lovely. We instantly regretted having to move on the following day. We would certainly stay there again. Thank you to all the staff.

Cannot say enough good things about our stay! We had a king river view room with balcony. Room was very spacious and clean and the river view is amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the kayaks and fly-fishing and sleeping with our window open to hear the sound of the river. And Josh at the front desk is so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back soon!

Loved the escape feel from the rest of town. the view of the river is superb and makes for a relaxing experience. So quiet in the room unlike many other places where you and your neighbors are close enough to have a conversation through a wall.

Was there for work,staff was very nice, the view of the river was beautiful and calming. Enjoyed my stay very much staying again soon. Breakfast could have been a little better, otherwise my stay was very good.

If you haven't tried this location, you owe it to yourself to visit. Sit out on the spacious deck in the sunshine and listen to the river while visiting with family or friends. Watch as the kayakers float by. Take advantage of the varied and delicious breakfast, the rooms with cushy beds, room amenities and clean surroundings. Be sure and take in the local shops at Dillsboro, maybe ride up to the trains in Bryson City or Fontana Dam. If you're a motorcyclist, don't forget that the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway are not far away, as is the town of Cherokee for those who want to gamble a bit or take in the sights. Oh, and don't forget the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots to do and a beautiful place to stay in the Western NC mountains.

We stayed at this hotel for a state competition at Western Carolina University. It is about a 15 minute drive to campus. If you are lucky enough to get a room on the river side you have an amazing view of the river and the mountains. The other side is less appealing with the parking lot and abandoned trains. If the weather is nice there is a deck on the back for breakfast by the river or a drink in the evening. The kids in our group enjoyed the indoor pool. There are lots of good small local restaurants nearby for dinner options.

We were here for a family event. Unfortunately there were AirPods stolen from our hotel room. I was able to pinpoint the location using the ‘find my' app. Unfortunately, the hotel has not been willing to assist with this.

Be sure to get a river side suite. Turn off the a/c, open the window and the roaring Tuckaseegee River will lull you to sleep! Sylva has an active downtown. Eat at Lulu's! The surrounding mountains give many options for hiking and biking.

We had the King Suite and I can't say enough about how awesome this hotel is! Extremely clean and modern. Highly recommend! Two small things which I should mention even though it doesn't change the 5 rating - the shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower was empty. In the lobby, complimentary coffee was never hot. Otherwise, Amazing!

wonderful outdoor area to sit & rock by the river - very relaxing - room big & clean - nice complimentary breakfast - been coming here for years & will continue. There is a river that rafters & tubers go by right while you are rocking & watching the river. Sylva is a 5 minute ride from here & a beautiful town to visit in addition to Dillsboro

Updated clean hotel. Beautiful view of river. Coffee was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel. They have a huge deck with seating off the main entrance and breakfast area. It was cool and rainy while we were there. On a sunny day you could sit there for hours, right above the river. The bed seem bigger than a regular king size. The room was large with sofa bed.

We had a wonderful stay here. Greta went above and beyond upgrading our room and made our anniversary stay perfect! The breakfast every morning was very well stocked and fresh along with the coffee. The pool and hot tub was also very nice. The entire hotel staff were helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this relaxing Best Western. The hotel sits on the side of the river with beautiful and peaceful views of the surrounding mountains. You can enjoy the outdoor decks and serine sound of the river waters rushing by. Also had a nice variety of included breakfast foods; both hot and cold.

Loved this hotel! The beds are so comfortable and the breakfast is better than most. The rooms and indoor pool area are very clean and the staff (especially Meredith) are very happy to help. We will definitely be back!!

Room had a smell room 108, it was loud and when I tried to buy a drink and candy no staff around. The view is beautiful through but they need to hire more or train better something. Staff was nky friendly

We stayed at the Best Western Plus River Escape Inn in Dillsboro for a weekend family wedding. The location to the event was ideal. The lobby and room was very clean, welcoming and up to date. We loved the sitting area in the lobby with the fireplace and outside area with rocking chairs. The breakfast was fantastic with a selection of anything you could want. We loved that our room faced the the beautiful river view. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if in the area. You won't be disappointed.

This was our first time staying at this hotel. We chose it due to its proximity to the GSMR for the Polar Express. All of the employees were extremely friendly! Beds were also comfy. Balcony room view was outstanding with comfortable seating. Unfortunately, beyond that, I can't say I would highly recommend this particular hotel for a few reasons. 1) Lack of detail with cleanliness. Thankfully, I come prepared with Clorox wipes and spray because our bathroom counters had stuck on goop that required scrubbing to remove. The shower had hair in it. Windows and mirrors were smeared and hadn't been wiped down. The lamp shades were filthy with stains and dirt (see photos). 2) Not up to date with technology. There are no USB charging ports. The outlets in the room made our charging adapters extremely hot and charged super slow. 3) Breakfast selection was severely lacking. Not even any cereal. We ended up going to a restaurant. There aren't many nice hotel lodging options near Bryson City, so this sufficed for a 1 night quick trip.

We celebrated our anniversary with a 04 day trip to the North Carolina mountains. Our stay at Best Western River Escape was a great getaway! The sounds and sights of the river were beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is warm and welcoming with many areas to relax indoors and outdoors, including a fire pit and outdoor patio furniture overlooking the river. We enjoyed the ample selection of breakfast items. The host was friendly and attentive. We are looking forward to our next visit!

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at this hotel. We found it to be very clean and comfortable. We booked the River View room in our second stay because we wanted to be able to sit on our balcony and enjoy the serenity of the river flowing by. The staff was nice and helpful. The patio on main level overlooks the river and offers a nice place to eat breakfast. We would stay there again.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this particular Best Western hotel while traveling through the area because we have been soo pleased with our experiences here. The staff is very kind and friendly, always greeting us and asking if there is anything we need. I have never met one staff member in the 3 different experiences we have had that didn't say "Hello" in the hallway or at the front desk while passing through. This hotel is extremely clean. (I am sort-of picky about the cleanliness of hotels. I'm a registered nurse, I can't help it. We travel frequently so it's something you consider often) Our rooms have always been set up beautifully. Spend the extra money to get a room on the river, it is WELL worth it! The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is hot, and the area tidy and replenished frequently. The lady at breakfast on this particular stay was a GEM! I wish I would have gotten her name. She was soo friendly, greeting everyone as they entered. She kept the items stocked and even walked around taking plates/trash from guests when she noticed they were finished. That goes above and beyond excellent service. And there is always fresh coffee!! This hotel is probably our favorite hotel, even over more expensive, larger hotels, for several reasons; the place just feels calm and peaceful, the beautiful flowing river and patio with rocking chairs sets a perfect atmosphere for relaxing, the warm staff members, the cleanliness, the décor in the common areas. Walking through the doors sort of feels like coming home!! We will continue to return to this hotel on future trips south, even if it means a 45 minute drive outside of Asheville to stay here. There isn't any place I would rather stay!

BW River Escape provided a clean, luxurious stay for my husband and I. We will definitely return in the near future. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay and the river was beautiful, flowing right outside our balcony.

This hotel is located along the Tuckasegee River and is well maintained and quiet. There are no restaurants to walk to but not too far of a drive to go out. There are plenty of chairs to sit outside and enjoy the river either with your breakfast or with a beverage to just relax.

This was a perfect area to take the time to enjoy the fall season. The small town atmosphere provided friendly service and fun adventures with a no hurry attitude. There were choices to satisfy every person's wants and hopes when taking a few days “ get away,”

Trip with my wife and my mother .Oct 20th was a year since my mother had stage 4 ovarian cancer surgery and she wanted to visit Western NC again to view the leaves . Life is too precious not to spend time with those whom you love and live each day as if it were your last.

Have stayed here several times and love the location right on the river. Great deck and sitting area with fire pit and views. They have a well stocked pantry with good variety of snacks and drinks. Rooms are clean and comfortable with good internet and average breakfast. Staff was very nice and I've not had any problems on any of my stays.

This stay was our 3rd visit to this hotel. Updated, clean, great linens and the BEST view ever ON THE RIVER SIDE patio or balcony. Downtown is a short drive or walk along the railroad tracks. Great restaurants downtown and shopping. I love reading on the riverside...so peaceful.

Hotel was very dated. Needs fresh wallpaper, curtains, bedspreads... Tub was scraped up. Carpet had balls of fuzz like from socks. Bathroom floor was spotted like it had not been mopped. Clean but not up to my standards. Room was very clammy and damp. The ceiling was full of mildew. We had tons of knats in the room. Came home with bites all over our bodies. I would NEVER stay here again. It was a huge disappointment for a BW PLUS hotel. Breakfast was decent. A good selection of hot and cold items. Front desk staff was pleasant.

The hotel is situated along the Tuckasegee River. It is quiet and serene. Just minutes from some very good restaurants and Cherokee, NC. Our visit was for a visit to WCU during homecoming. The prices were inflated for the stay however. For the cost, all things should be in working order (my opinion)

Bedding felt damp, no accommodations for electronic charging in room. Nice riverside location but not in a nice area. Very good hot breakfast. Overall disappointed and did not feel was worth the $200 per night charge.

The room had a dirty green throw at the end of the bed. We went to sit outside on the balcony and it had garbage on it and someone's socks. I didn't say anything because we were only staying overnight. And the front staff weren't the friendliest. The breakfast didn't have anything and we had to go out for breakfast. Maybe 3 items. For the $300 I expected so much more. And I emailed the property and no one responded.

Very nice accomodations on the river and with nice lobby and clean rooms and good or better breakfast, during covid, than most. Only complaint is internet is spotty but seems to be like that in a lot of locations. Enjoyed our visit!

The Hotel is on a river and the rooms are clean and comfortable, get the riverview rooms it is worth it. Now we were here last year during covid and they did not serve a full breakfast. This year they advertised a full breakfast but it was not more of a modified one.. Also there was not any daily cleaning service.

Pretty clean and very quiet. Pool was nice, hot tub was nice and the river view was AWESOME! Covid-19 impacted the breakfast but there was oatmeal, yogurt, danish, apples, juice, coffee and tea. All hotel décor is tacky with the crazy carpet patterns and the baby poop colors.

Overall great hotel with a few caveats. Do NOT accept room 108 - incredibly noisy due to lobby traffic. Breakfast isn't bad based on COVID standards. If you want a river view room, be sure your reservation states it.

The river and outdoor scenery is the best part! Unfortunately, you cannot sleep outside or in the lobby. The room odor hits the moment you enter the room. My room (204) had mold on the ceiling and red rust under the desk lamp. I have never called to ask about moving to another room. This was a first in my 50 years! (Nor have I ever did a hotel review before.) I was told all the rooms have an odor because they can't keep the dampness from the rooms due to the river. I told them the odor I could handle for a night, but am allergic to the mold on the ceiling. I was told there was nothing else available. I stayed outside until dark and enjoyed the view. I wore and slept in a mask when I returned to the room to avoid getting sick. Extermely disappointed.

EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT. THE ROOM, serivce, staff, pool and hot tub. The exterior grounds maintained daily and looking good. house keeping staff was very good. Great view of the river from our room with the balcony.

This hotel is slipping every time we visit, we usually visit our family in the area about every 2 months, and the property just keeps sliding down the quality scale. The bathroom had a strong swell of urine, the room itself smelled like a locker room and the refrigerator contained partially eaten and uneaten breakfast and beverage items that made us question the cleanliness of the rest of the room. The only thing that is saving this location right now is the limited selection of hotels in the area. This was most definitely not worth the $250 per night we paid!!! I am still waiting to see the "Plus" in the Best Western Plus.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but I can't. We booked directly with Best Western, to guarantee a river view. The room was nice, big and clean. Unfortunately beyond their control their are dump trucks running along the road next to the river. So sitting on the balcony wasn't as pleasant. Our bathroom had no hair conditioner, as the dispenser was broken. The thing that really bothered me after spending the money we spent for one night were the employees. The lady who checked me in was nice, but after that, not one person I encountered spoke. They need to work on being friendly.

I highly recommend this Hotel. You fall asleep to a River outside your balcony door. I recommend you ask for the rooms with the River view. The staff was fantastic. The breakfast was very good. You can eat on a Patio to the sound of the Tuskegee River.

We were supposed to get a Wedding discount. We made our reservation through the zola.com website link. We did not get the discount and the hotel refused to give it to us. Don't send you wedding guest here as they may have to pay full price as we did.

Trip was for a family reunion. After a long day of driving and running around, the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was just right. The river view was incredible! Breakfast was scaled back due to COVID restrictions, but was fine. Kudos to the staff.

We enjoyed the location right by the river. We were able to get to Cherokee, NC for the play "Unto these Hills" in just half an hour. Franklin, the Gem capital of the world was just minutes away. Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad is 30 miles away. Great access to everything we were looking for. But then, it was hard to tear ourselves away from our patio by the river.

If you happen to visit Dillsboro, or neighboring Sylva, this Best Western Plus has an exceptional location. I booked a river facing room and it did not disappoint. The hotel is also just a few minutes drive from either downtown and a place you can rent tubes/ kayaks. The room was modern and clean, and the bed comfortable - not too firm like most hotel beds are for me.

We stayed for 3 nights with the family of 5 (3 kids). Having balcony overlooking river was wonderful, relaxing. We had normal 2Q room and it was decent size, with space for an additional bed if needed next to the window. Location was great - 30min to Nantahala white water rafting (which was the main reason for our trip), 15min to Bryson City, 1hr from Asheville. The hotel is tacked away in the area away from town (only 3min drive) along the river. In the back of the hotel is a terrace with plenty of seating overlooking river. Occasionally you can see kayakers and white water rafters go by.

Hotel and rooms are very nice. Free breakfast as compared to other hotels was disappointing. We requested adjoining rooms when we made our reservation booked 60 days before arrival , no effort seemed to be made to accommodate this request. Rooms seemed to be assigned in order of arrival and it was like our request was not even considered .

Staff was friendly. Hotel was clean. But if traveling in a large group don't expect any accommodations. We needed adjoining rooms or at least rooms next to each other due to traveling with minors but when we arrived none of our requests were honored. Their answer was “nothing we can do now.”

This place is great! Excellent location for an NC mountain getaway. It is quiet and the hotel has all the amenities you need at a reasonable price. Within driving distance of all the areas attractions. This is our new mountain vacation destination.

This quaint little hotel is nestled in the middle of what seems like nowhere. Placed on the river where you see various waterfowl, rafters, and kayakers. It's well kept grounds and rooms are very inviting, as is the indoor pool. There are pool towels available, a fitness room, and a yummy breakfast. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The staff are over-the-top friendly too!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable but it would have been nice to have a chair in room other than the two at table. Beds were very comfortable. Had a beautiful view of the river from our balcony with large comfortable chairs on balcony

I have stayed at this location a couple of times and have not been disappointed either time. This time was no exception. The river views outside of the hotel are wonderful and incredibly relaxing. The Front Desk Staff was friendly and attentive. Hotel and Grounds were clean and clear of debris and trash. Common areas inside the hotel were clean. The room was clean. There were a couple of missed spots in the bathroom that I chalked up to COVID staff shortages. They were no problem to touch up. Beds were very comfortable and the linens were clean and crisp. Great hotel for a couples weekend or a stop on a family getaway. Very pleasant stay.

We highly recommend staying at Best Western Plus in Dillsboro. You will be highly satisfied with the friendliness of staff and excellent accommodations. You will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere by the river. The motel is away from all the hustle and bustle and provides the perfect spot to get away from it all!

Had a corner room 2 bed Queen suite on the river side on the second floor. Loved the balcony over looking the river and watching the kayaker & canoes go by. The one night we had the window open and could hear the water flowing over the rocks it was very relaxing. The hotel is not hard to find but it is in a small industrial area but was not noisey at all. Don't let that small thing dissuade you from staying at this location it is worth it.

Located on a river - the location of this hotel is what makes it worth staying here. As far as the actual hotel - it's pretty average. like most other hotels, it does not provide daily maid service - however it should do better preparing rooms for that fact. Our room had a single roll of toilet paper for our 4 person 3 night stay - no soap in the soap dispenser. Simple things that shouldn't be an issue for the nightly rates that are charged. Also - probably the saddest excuse for a hotel breakfast I've ever experienced. No milk or cereal was offered, one day there was no juice and most days prepackaged muffins, granola bars and small danishes. Fair enough - but don't promote a hot breakfast when this is what you are offering. It's one of the more expensive (if not the most) hotels in the area and could improve on a few things - but the location on the river makes it a nice choice.

Loved the peaceful, serene view from the balcony. Room and hotel were very clean. The room was very quiet and couldn't hear any noise from outside. Staff was friendly. Breakfast is more a to go no hot meal. Would definitely stay again.

This is the second time staying at this hotel and something has happened to quality. The rooms were not very clean (hair around toilet and in shower, obvious lack of vacuuming with food particles and other debris all over the floor, food crumbs on table, toilet paper almost out with no other rolls). Although the river front rooms have a beautiful view, the cleanliness left much to be desired. Staff offered another room, but the other room wasn't very clean either (hair and coffee in sink, no vacuuming). Other than saying sorry and offering supplies (one rag and disinfecting spray) to clean my own room, there was no other attempts to satisfy. I will say, staff seemed short handed. There was only one person in front and a majority of our stay they had a "Be back in 10 minutes" sign up, where we witnessed many individuals going up and leaving the counter in irritation.

This property is in a beautiful setting, and is truly a place for "escape". Room was spacious, and we enjoy having a sitting area. Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. There are some good restaurants within a few minutes drive, as well. We felt the Southern Hospitality wherever we went.

This hotel has an absolutely gorgeous view of the river. They had plenty of breakfast options or as many as possible during the pandemic. Everything was clean and the pool and spa were spotless! Staff was super friendly and professional as well. Truly lucked out with this gem.

I had a river view room, it was beautiful, they had a nice grilling area and a fire pit. I stay in hotels a lot and the bed is probably the most important thing to me and the bed was very comfortable and good shower too. I would stay here again if in the area, I really like the Best Western Plus.

Service was excellent, room was very comfortable, clean and very spacious! The location was secluded and quiet with a beautiful view of a river next to the hotel. Very courteous and helpful staff, outdoor seating was available.

The hotel price for being right on the river with a fabulous view can't be beat! Hot tub and pool were very clean. Patio was great! Hotel close to everywhere we went. Loved it! 10/10 would recommend to anyone traveling to NC!!

When visiting schools, we stayed at a couple of other hotels in the area that were so so (none horrible, but none great either). Then we found Best Western Rover Escape. It looks unassuming at first and kind of unusually situated near some unused train tracks. However, the river view is beautiful and serene and the hotel is clean and decently appointed. Wifi works great, breakfast even during COVID has been nice and staff is wonderful!

We loved our stay at Dillsboro! Beautiful and extremely clean hotel room! Beautiful view of the river! We would have spent more time on our balcony if it hadn't been raining so much. The temperature dropped over night! Beds and box springs have zippered encasement mattress covers. Very comfy beds (almost too soft!)

Beautiful location, nice outside areas. But that's the end of it. The paper thin walls and floors makes if feel like you are trying, since you really can't, sleep inside a snare drum. Loud, obnoxious people will ensure you won't ret, and calls to front desk are not going to help. Would be better to sleep n a tent in the parking lot and then get the banana you get for breakfast.

OVERALL- 3/5 As a former "Road warrior"with over 5,000 nights on the road, traveling for business, I really need and want a good bed for a good night's sleep, no matter what the cost. Would only stay here again if I had no choice, and NEVER stay on the weekend when the rates sometimes double or more. Location 3/5 Staff 5/5 Room 3/5 Value 3/5 Location On the river, Great, but its in a industrial area, not very appealing. Staff Check in was fast and by a professional front desk person. Room Nice but could have more lights and the bed was terrible! Hard and very difficult to sleep. Either a cheap mattress or it's old and needs to be replaced Value This hotel really plays the pricing game. Thursday less than $100 and over $200 on the weekend or when events at WCU. I only stay here when my regular hotel if booked or if it has a large # of construction workers.

The wife and I had a great weekend here and will definitely return for future trips to the area. Dining was great and close by. The fire pit beside the river with firewood supplied by the hotel enabled a fire at sunset while the snow was starting to fall. The staff found an item we left behind and offered to mail it to us. All around great facility and staff. Thanks to Rob the GM.

In a word this property is CLEAN. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. It sits back from the road and doesn't look like much from outside, but it was surprisingly roomy and had everything we needed.

Located on the bank of the Tuckaseegee River (known for its world-class fly fishing) this lodge will quickly become your favorite base camp location for visiting the Great Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge Park areas of western North Carolina.

We stay at this hotel several times a year, but this stay was not as enjoyable. We were staying with our 2 young granddaughters and were staying in a room with a sofa bed. When we were getting the sofa bed ready we discovered that there were no pillows for the sofa bed, so we called down to the front desk to request two pillows we were told that they were out of pillows, out of pillows, a hotel out of pillows? We were offered a comforter and a pillow case, wow really.

Stayed one night in late January. The property is beautiful, the hotel is well appointed and clean. We loved listening to the river from the balcony on a mild January day. But we had room 215, and when one of our neighbors took a shower, the water noise in our room was extraordinarily loud, as if someone was using our own shower, but even louder. I woke up in the middle of the night to this sound, and my husband didn't quite believe me until it happened again the next morning, and then he was amazed he slept through it. And when we used our shower, the water would stop completely for a few seconds, then come back on. I'm sure not all the rooms have these problems, but I would avoid room 215.

We chose to stay at this hotel because it had great reviews. It is a great place to stay. Staff is friendly and willing to help. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The view of the river is awesome. We came because our son was at a WCU camp.

Nice setting, nice decor. The place was very clean and looked freshly remodeled. Comfy bed and decent hotel style breakfast. River was nice to look at. Nice selection of movie channels for evening movie watching. Internet connection worked well.

Great hotel, nice hot breakfast, a little of the beaten path - it is not actually "in" Dillsboro - you have to drive about 1/2 mile to get there - quiet and great staff! Good value for the price - recommended!

I would rate this hotel between "Average" and "Very Good" (hence the "Good" in my title). We visited here over the Christmas holiday to have fun in the Cherokee area. The hotel was convenient to many of the places we wanted to go, although a little bit further from them than it had looked on the map. Our first impressions of the property were not good-- the drive into what looked like an industrial area was a bit concerning, but we were truly unhappy when we arrived well after check-in time (3:45) and were told that our room was not yet ready. After a long day of driving this was really disappointing. The man at the desk was clearly overwhelmed by a group, and I was surprised the hotel did not have enough staff members on hand to deal with their bookings. We went out to see the town, and came back later in the evening to be told that it was finally ready. Going up to the room we found that the door had been left wide open, presumably hours before by employees who assumed we were sitting around waiting. Later in the evening I went down to the lobby area to make some hot chocolate and found there was no hot water available-- the area was messy and not maintained. The next few days were much better, particularly because after the first night there were few people in the hotel so the staff was able to keep up. Ultimately we found that we enjoyed the hotel. Our riverview room had a lovely balcony, and in spite of the cold weather it was fun to sit outside. The pool room was nice with a good hot tub. We loved building a fire in the fire-pits outside, and were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel had firewood, a lighter, and started bricks available for guests. Kristen at the front desk was very positive and helpful. Breakfast was fairly similar every day. The pancake machine wasn't working, and the fridge with pictures of eggs on it never had any hard-boiled eggs in it. There were limited vegetarian choices (*please* offer some gelatin free yogurts and at least one egg option with no meat in it every day!). The woman who ran breakfast, however, was very helpful and friendly.

This is an awesome hotel & with the location directly on the river, it was a pleasure sitting outside & enjoying the sounds of the stream & the beautiful scenery, Very comfortable, staff is great & a wonderful breakfast included with the price of the room

We loved everything there, the rooms are really nice, spacious and very well equipped.The breakfast is decent with different things to choose from. The fruit was delicious and they encourage you to get anything you want for a later snack. Our room had a nice balcony with the view of the river that is located right by the hotel. The staff was fantastic and very friendly!! We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it!

Nice room with calming colors. Megan at the front desk was very helpful. Our stay was short but very nice. Good beds! Very nice breakfast buffet. The TV was HD and programmed as such. No stretched screen and nice selection of channels.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend exploring the Dillsboro / Sylva / Cherokee area. This hotel is lovely and right on the Tuckaseegee River. We had a riverview suite and it was just perfect. It is obvious the staff takes a sense of pride in this place as everything was spotless and in order. All staff was very friendly and this did not go unnoticed. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

When browsing for hotels for our 17-year anniversary, we found this one and couldn't believe the 5 out 5 stars review it received. No hotel is that good, is it? Upon arrival, we could not have been happier. Extremely friendly staff, super clean facilities and rooms, fantastic view of the river. Even the carpet BEHIND the TV stand was immaculately clean. Definitely coming back.

We paid more than usual to stay here because of being on the river and having your own balcony to sit on and enjoy the sounds of the water. My sister and I needed a relaxing getaway and we were not disappointed. We even stayed an extra night because of the atmosphere. Breakfast was nice-more than just cereal and pastries. If you can, sit at counter overlooking river. Annette in dining area busy making sure the area was well stocked and she was very accommodating. Alli and Meagan at the front desk were friendly and helpful also. If you need a nice, relaxing getaway, this is the place. It's also convenient to Sylva, Waynesville, Bryson City, Franklin and so many neat towns.

i have stayed here several times when hiking in the area .. it is always good. the staff is great and the breakfast is excellent. you can walk along the old tracks along the river into town and visit the smokehouse but bring a flashlight for the return trip. they always have coffee and tea available here which is something marriot has not quite figured out.

The Best Western Plus River Escape was a very pleasant experience. The location was perfect. Keep in mind that it is not within walking distance to Dillsboro, but was a very short drive. The river view was so relaxing! I would highly recommend this hotel!

Great hotel when visiting the Hendersonville Area. Very nice rooms and great staff. The breakfast was very good and satisfying along with the coffee and cookies. The fireplace and firepits were very beautiful.

We are in the western NC mountains often, and stay at different places each time. This was our first stay at this hotel. It is in a great location and the room was very nice to return to after exploring the surrounding areas.

I don't usually stay at Best Westerns but did an Expedia search with our criteria - indoor pool, free breakfast, river or mountain view and up popped this hotel. A little more than I wanted to pay but most hotels in the area had a higher price for that weekend. It was also our 38th anniversary weekend so I gladly paid it. We got a king bed with river view with balcony and my wife loved the room. Being able to step through the doors and watch the river go by was wonderful. A really good stay. The hotel indoor pool and spa was good too. Breakfast not bad at all - bacon on the menu which is always a plus for me.

Booked 3 months in advance for a 3rd flood honeymoon suite. Arrived to be told that room was given away to another couple who were staying two nights because we were only staying one night. Room 215 was directly across from the elevator, the overlook down to the lobby, and overlooked the umbrella covered deck below. Very noisy all night long from above, in the hallway and through the lobby entrance. Room was clean and well appointed. TV and channel options excellent. Balcony clean and appointed with nice balcony chairs. View of river good and somewhat obstructed in this particular room due to deck below covered in umbrella tables. Continental breakfast basic. Dining inside and out on the covered deck overlooking the river. I would haven given the hotel a "5" if we had received the room we booked in advance, confirmed two weeks prior and the check in staff had seemed a little more concerned about it. It's the little things that make special occasions special.

We stayed in the King, hot tub suite. It was clean, but way too much blue. The staff was friendly, and the hotel was beautiful. The breakfast had limited selections, and only 3 cereal selections, from a dispensor. Overall, it is a nice hotel!

Great place to sit back and relax (was there on Sunday-Tuesday) Porch view was amazing but we had a 2nd floor right over the river deck, every morning we had someone out talking on the deck early. We wanted to sleep with the windows open but couldn't

very nice river side hotel, if i had a fishing rod i would fished for some of the trout i saw i the stream swimming around, would like to go back to this place, i already shared my stay on face book with my friends

Our room was on the second floor, facing the river. We opened the french doors, the windows and left them open all night. It was heavenly. Sylva's right down the road and is such a sweet town, from what we saw. The Guadalupe Cafe is well worth a visit; the food is excellent and Innovation Brewing makes some of the most outstanding beers in NC, so say I.

The Good:This hotel is right next to a river as the name suggest. The river and the mountains make a great view. The Bad: I suggest you bring one of those portable bug zappers. I guess they can't help it, but there were these tiny red flying knat things in my room. Every time I poured a glass of juice or tried to eat in my room they were all over it.

Place was very, very clean. room was nice and spacious, with a wonderful view of the river. Breakfast was hot everyday with a nice variety of hot and cold breakfast items. it was a little hard to find, but that is also good if you like it quiet. We look forward to returning again.

Loved this Inn!!! Went for a college tour to Western and the location was great! It wasn't far from the college, close to town (for shopping and dining), clean, good amenities, nice staff and LOVED the water view/ access! A little pricey but they deliver so can't begrudge them for getting all they can and it is very well upkeep so the money is put back in the establishment, you can tell.

This hotel is situated quaintly in downtown Dillsboro. It is so quiet and relaxing. The balcony river view rooms are amazing. The pool is nice. The continental breakfast is so, so, but the fact that you can eat it in the downstairs balcony is amazing! Would definitely recommend this hotel! My only complaint would be the beds were not super comfy.

great find that has the prefect location while visiting the mountains - balcony rooms overlooking the river along with an indoor pool, Jacuzzi and fire pit which was a perfect way to make smores at the end of the day. Easy walk into town as well as clean and spacious rooms - whats not to like? (the staff were friendly as well)

not a good start to our stay..room smelled of mildew, and floor was damp..moved to another room...view was awesome of the river..sound was soothing..everything else was just adequate..not sure what the "plus" is but the BW in Waynesville was far superior.

This has to be one of my favorite locations, River view, great service, what's not to like, A little bit off of the main road, but this just enhances it's charm. We were impressed with the river view . Overheard a guest say that he saw an eagle land on a rock in the river.

The manager at Bogart's Restaurant sent us to this hotel with good remarks. Excellent choice. Our large room faced the river. We had a balcony and very comfortable beds. The hotel was clean with indoor and outdoor eating area. You do wonder about the hotel due to the entrance route, but once in, all doubts disappear. The clerk was efficient and friendly. This is an excellent stay and will be on our list for all future travels.

We have stayed here several times over the past 5 years. Always a great experience. Clean rooms, good breakfast and exceptional staff! We love the area and the rooms on the river, we will be back!!!!!

We recently stayed here overnight while visiting Western Carolina University. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Check in was a breeze and the staff we met from the front desk to breakfast were very nice and helpful. We had a riverview and a top floor and the balcony was so enjoyable to sit on and watch the water (and geese, rafters, and fisherman) go by. Very peaceful. A little odd to get to but totally worth it. Would definitely stay here again!

While we wondered about the hotel as we drove up (you cross railroad tracks and have to wind your way around a hilly road to get here), do not be fooled, this is a real gem. Quiet and secluded, it is a wonderful place to stay in the Western NC mountains! Nice staff, clean safe and the location is total wonderful.

This hotel is all by itself on a road by the river. The pool and hot tub are great- I rarely use hotel pools because they smell too much like chemicals- this one was clean and luckily we had it all to ourselves. The room was clean. The staff pleasant. The location was good for visiting Smoky Mt NP as well as Fontana Lake and Gatlinburg. The food in the area is slim pickings especially later in the evening- we ended up at O'Malley's most nights. Harrah's Casino in Cherokee isn't touted much but it is a small taste of civilization with plenty of food, 20 minutes from this hotel.

We had a very nice room with a balcony with comfortable chairs overlooking the river . It was so restful to sit out there reading or to watch kayaks and river rafts float by. The breakfast included a nice selection of foods and some seating outside by the river. I was a little annoyed though when we arrived after check in time and our room wasn't ready. But, they solved the problem in a timely manner.

Very nice hotel with an amazing view of the river. We had room with balcony overlooking the river but even if your room doesn't overlook river, they have rockers and chairs and even a fire pit by the river. So beautiful and peaceful! Hotel was very clean and really good breakfast with a lot of choices. Enjoyed breakfast outside by the river watching kayaks and canoes! Very friendly and helpful staff. Great weekend get away with a lot of relaxation, just what we needed!

First off, there is nothing really within walking distance and no restaurant on-site except for your breakfast service. Dillsboro is a 2 min drive and has got eateries but check their close times. Our room had a microwave and large fridge so we chose to pop to Wal-Mart in Sylva (10 min drive) and get Subway and other provisions. We chose to stay here because of its proximity to the Smokys and I was pleased with that. We had a day on the Blue Ridge Parkway and did a hike which was fab. About an hour's drive but well worth it. Our accommodation was on the ground floor facing the river which was a lovely vista point. The bedroom was 2 doubles, far smaller than other accommodation we've had on our trip so far. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast selection was adequate and replenished frequently. There's a little market place (a few shelves) of snacks and drinks by reception to purchase when you're hungry! I've scored this average because compared to the previous two hotels we have stayed at on this trip, it lacked the equivalent welcome and wow factor I got at the others.

Clean room, good breakfast, beautiful balcony views. Would of given this place a perfect rating but 2 of the 3 nights we had to deal with smokers on the balcony next to us. Complained to desk and they said theyd talk to the guests but that didnt deter them.. they were back to smoking hours later.

The room was immaculate. We ate breakfast (eggs, sausage and gravy over biscuits, yogurt, fruit, while watching kayaks and canoes splash over the rapids outside our room! We saw a beautiful osprey fly low along the river an and butterflies had their morning breakfast from the fresh hanging flower baskets outside our balcony. Other people enjoyed eating outside on the big deck overlooking the water as they rocked in the rocking chairs and sipped their coffee. We only stayed one night (Saturday, Aug. 4) because Harrah's was booked that night. We had been at Harrah's several night prior and as nice as Harrah's was...this was such a nice change of pace. I'm so glad we ended our vacation with a stay here. The drive from Harrah's was quick and easy. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I loved it. Thanks Best Western River Escape!! We will be back!!

The place is ok. The website is completely useless so anything to be done regarding the reservation had to be set up via phone. Once up in the room, it was clean. My only real complaint is that the food was horrible, breakfast wasn't stocked, there wasn't anywhere to sit, and staff wasn't helpful to assist. The view of the river was nice. What isn't written anywhere is that there is a lot of heavy vehicle traffic going down the road across the river from the hotel. It's noisy from early in the morning until after dark.

My husband and I spent several nights there in June. We had a river front room and the view was great. It was so nice to sit on the deck and enjoy it and the all of the nature around it. The hotel was very close to town and restaurants. The staff at the hotel was nice and friendly. The breakfast was good and convenient. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in the area.

This is the perfect place to stay! Not far from Smokey Mountain trails. Short drive to Maggie Valley. Very clean. Good breakfast with perfect river view. Relaxing environment. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend this place to friends.

We love this place! Rooms remodeled two years ago. Love the rockers on the porch. Great place to sit and watch the river flow. My goal was to sit with an adult beverage and read or maybe take a nap. I succeeded in all three!

We loved our stay at Best Western Plus River. It was conveniently located to everywhere we needed to be and the view of the river was terrific to wake up to each morning and the cute little town of Dillsboro was enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

We stayed with a river view and were very pleasantly surprised. While visiting Western Carolina University, we selected this motel because it was relatively close and could not have been more pleased. Have already made reservations for our next trip.

The hotel is located directly beside the Tuskaseegee River. Wonderful view from our balcony overlooking the river. Convenient location for local dining and access to highways for day trips. Very nice & clean with a great staff!

The hotel was clean and bright. Nicely decorated with pleasant staff. We were in town to play in the rivers and enjoy the outdoors and this hotel was perfect for that. Just minutes away from NOC and other places to play. It has a really sweet pool and hottub. And it's within walking distance of downtown Dillsboro with it's cute shops and good dining.

Clean rooms with incredible view of the river! The staff is so helpful, friendly and accommodating(Chick-fil-A service??). The outside seating beautifully done with comfortable seating. The location is accessible to fun things to do in surrounding area. We will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is our personal sanctuary, and we love it here. We highly recommend getting a river room, as there is nothing quite like listening to the peaceful sounds of the river from your balcony. The hotel is always clean, well-stocked with amenities, and the staff is super courteous.

great view of river at back of hotel. very very clean and quiet. best hotel in years...glad i stayed. love that shower. only one inconvenience... air conditioner had strange vibration that was annoying to sleep with. but was digital and had a timer! so i set it low for half hour then fell asleep. best night sleep in a hotel...bed comfort beyond explanation. worst part is i had to leave next day. definitely stay here

You take your breakfast out to the deck, where you relax at a table overlooking the river. As you eat, your child is entertained by the canoes and kayaks going by. Later, you walk along the river, going to the edge and getting your feet wet in the cool mountain water. We had a relaxing, beautiful time here! In addition to the river there's a pool, hot tub and fire pit with benches. Kudos to the hotel for having plant-based plates and bowls in the breakfast area (now how about a compost bin?). And a great selection of kid channels including Disney Jr! Clean, comfortable rooms in a fabulous location. Staff went out for their way to help with restaurant recommendations and drying off deck chairs after a rain, etc.

Just a one night stay. They were full so our room faced the parking lot but I did get to enjoy the river at the included breakfast I ate on the deck.very peaceful setting . About a 15 mile drive to Harrah's from Dillsboro. All rooms are suites so the pullout sofa gives room for a child or two . I think I paid about $210 including tax . not cheap but a good value . The room seemed clean . I would stay there again .

Special place for anyone who loves the outdoors. You can trout fish practically while having a hot egg breakfast. A truly unique and delightful accommodation. Our room was quiet and the sound of the river rushing by let me sleep like I was camping out in a forest. Terrific spot, good peoples!

This hotel was very clean and room was spacious. Would have given 5 stars but was disappointed when we asked for a room with a river view and the front desk person explained that those rooms had been sold out for weeks. It was a nice stay overall.

Wonderful! My husband and I stayed for 1 night after spending the day in the SMNP. A wonderfully clean and spacious room. The view was like no other, with a patio overlooking the river. Peaceful and beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone.

This hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. My wife and I were visiting our daughter at college and there rates were very reasonable for a riverfront room.There are a lot of local restaurants to visit as well. We have stayed here several times and have not been disappointed.

We loved the setting by the river with the rocking chairs on the veranda! Clean rooms and a decent continental breakfast. The pool looked inviting but it was a bit too early in the season to be able to enjoy it.

We had a blast.The hotel is like a little piece of paradise.First time we have stayed here but you can bet we will return soon.When we got to the hotel we where checked in by a young man named Mike it was a pleasure meeting him very nice young man.Check in was fast.The room was more then we expected,super cozy and clean.The balcony on the river just outside our room was the icing on the cake.We went and checked out the pool and hot tub very clean.We did not use the picnic area but it's nice to know next time we come we bring steaks yes guy's they have a couple of grills with a bonfire area.We also enjoyed meeting a sweet lady named Carol at breakfast, she made sure all the guest had pleanty of food and she sure can cook my husband had eggs biscuits and gravy.I went for the blueberry waffle which Carol helped me make.We also got some fishing in before we had to leave and guy's if you like to fish you want be disappointed my husband caught lot's of trout.we are planning a trip back in the next couple of weeks.So if your looking for a hotel that has it all this is the place to go.The Suttles

Grabbed a room hey for our second night in town. Very clean and new amenities. Friendly staff. Actually booked a room for a upcoming trip. Never knew it was here. Off the beaten path but right against the river.

Bestwestern is one of my favorite places to stay! This hotel offers a beautiful river view that makes the stay relaxing and beautiful. The hotel is well layout with quiet rooms and large balconies. And if you didn't get a balcony room there is always plenty of space on the public balcony. The breakfast is great with a large selection for all ages. Quick check in and out service. Tubing and rafting nearby I wished we had take advantage of this. Fishing was tough but we still enjoyed it. I would stay here again.

We were in the area to drop off our son at the Nantahala Outdoor Center's Kayaking camp and we stayed for a weekend. It was an easy 30 minute drive to the camp in Bryson City. We had a river front room with a balcony and adorondak chairs. Room includes a fridge and microwave and was spacious and clean. Recently remodeled with modern decor. Amenities include a patio area with fire pit and BBQ grills and indoor pool was nice but opened too late - 10 am for any early morning swims. Hotel staff was super attentive. Full breakfast buffet was average hotel fare except making your own Belgium and adding fresh bananas. Fresh fruit was limited to whole bananas, apples and oranges. Really would like to see more seasonal fresh fruit like melons and berries. Town of Dillsboro was very cute with a lot of shops and restaurants. A short drive away is Sylva which has more restaurants and is cute too! Overall it was an excellent hotel and we will be back next summer for another kayaking camp.

This was a beautiful property. The room was beautiful. The breakfast was excellent. The server was extremely friendly. I would stay here again. There was construction in the parking lot and made it hard to get to the river, but it was worth the effort.

What a lovely hotel! We didn't have reservations and we were lucky to have a choice of either riverfront or non river view room for our one night stay. We opted for a non river, 1st floor room as there is an absolutely beautiful deck area right on the river with ample, comfortable seating. Our room was at the end of hall, furthest from reception area and we we able to us the side entrance so we were only 10 steps from our car. They sold beer and wine (limited selection) which we liked as the closest place to otherwise purchase was 5 miles away. We were quite tired when we arrived and the young lady was so friendly and helpful quickly producing a Dominos menu for pizza delivery. We had pizza on the deck and also breakfast (which was very good). Clearly the place has had extensive, quality recent renovations. Really nice room. There is an outdoor adventure center very close (less than a miles) and would be a great place to base yourself for a few days to explore the area. If you want to really pick your room and location, book directly with the hotel.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful spot on the River. Staff were very nice. Enjoyed the breakfast and view in the morning. Our room was comfortable. Had mentioned it was a special Anniversary when booked, but nothing special than normal service. Did see trash on the outside table at the fire pit for 2 days during stay.

We always stay at this wonderful hotel on our way to Gaither Family Fest in Gatlinburg. It gives us a chance to "chill" and relax from a hectic schedule and drive. Situated overlooking the river is so calming. The renovation has been completed and the hotel is beautiful. Our room, with the balcony of course, was very large. We were not stepping on each other. The balcony has the most comfortable chairs to sit in and enjoy the river.The beds were very comfortable. Just a wonderful place to get away and enjoy the hills, mountains and river right out from your balcony. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The deck outside the lobby/breakfast area has very comfortable rocking chairs over looking the river. Wonderful place to sit and just enjoy the sounds of the river. We always make reservations for next year before we leave. Would be so disappointed not to get to stay here this time every year.

We recently booked the Tuckasegee Room for a party. The staff was extremely accommodating. The hotel was extremely clean and every thing was in good working order. I highly recommend the Best Western River Escape!

Set right on the Tuckasegee, the hotel has a lot to offer besides fishing! Conveniently located near Sylva, Dillsboro, Bryson City and great trout fishing spots. Great places for shopping and great restaurants

The hotel is clean and has nice rooms. Megan at the front desk went above and beyond for us. She recommended places to eat and etc. We usually stay at the Harroh in Cherokee for the same price we paid here so I was expecting a little more. It was filled with college kids which is expected for the area. But I would expect the hotel would have policies about noise. The room above is jumped , banged, screamed til 1am. And we heard all of this over having brought our on commercial fan for noise. Megan did all she could . I have a 6 hr drive today . It would have been nice to get some sleep. I'm not normally a complainer I know kids were just having fun. But after 11 respect others. The reason I'm actually giving 3 stars is because when I spoke to the manager about it this morning. He could have cared less. Kept looking at paperwork the whole time I spoke to him and he said sorry a few times and explained about the college kids and again could cared less.

This hotel does NOT exaggerate. The river view - optical and audio - is fantastic - we kept the window open. Our room was newly renovated - the bed was the best we ever slept on. We had room 317-A - that room is perfect if you can get it (although all the other rooms may be just as good). We loved everything about the hotel, - great staff, good breakfast, comfortable room - nice TV. Really enjoyed out stay and right near everything.

Motel offered excellent facilities, River side was nice location and facilities were nice. Was pricey for this level of motel. This is a $75 a night motel charging around $140 a night. Will stay again when deals are available.

Overall- 4/5 Very Good As a former "Road Warrior" traveling 30 years for business, both domestically and internationally, I have stayed in a wide range of hotels, from 1 star to 5 star. Location- 3/5 The back side of the hotel is a very nice setting on the river. Unfortunately, to get to the hotel you have to go through an industrial area. Once you get through the industrial area its an appealing hotel area. The town of Dillsboro is just a few minutes away. Value 4/5 Can be pricy during the season and special occasions, like most hotels in the area. TIP Work the system, checking Trivago, Hotels.com and Hotwire, as well as Kayak and others, and someone usually has a deal. This time it was Hotwire, under $100 including taxes etc. Staff - 5/5 Very good, helpful and pleasant as well as professional. Room- 5/5 Clean and no issues

Loved this hotel. It had so much to offer. Big, clean, comfortable room with balcony overlooking river. Fishing was awesome. Hot breakfast included. Picnic table and rocking chairs overlooking river on main level of hotel. Fire ring for campfires. Hotel provides wood and fire starter to hotel guests wishing to have a campfire. Indoor pool & hot tub are lovely. Professional, friendly staff. It's a great value. So much included for the price we paid. This is definitely now one of our favorite places to stay!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was one of the best hotels that we have stayed at. It is located off the beaten track in a secluded area, yet still near a couple of small towns to go to for a nice meal. It is situated on a beautiful river where if you have a balcony room facing it, you will have a beautiful view. In the morning we loved watching ducks frolick in the water. Very relaxing way to start the day. The breakfast is very good and this is the first hotel where we found a machine to make great tasting pancakes. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful in helping us plan our days. The main reason that we chose this hotel was because it is located near Hwy. 441 which goes over the mountain between Cherokee and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. A beautiful drive. We will definitely stay here again if we come back this way.

We had another fantastic experience here . The facilities are really awesome , the staff are accommodating, and the location can't be beat. They went out of their way to make us feel like we were at home.

The staff at this facility were very accommodating ,friendly and professional. I enjoyed the outdoor fire pit , grills and picnic table. The pool was very clean , but the jets on the Jacuzzi were slow. My bed was not the most comfortable but it was adequate. I defiantly plan on returning.

Hotel is very clean and the river view and sounds are breathtaking! I recommend that you bring stuff that you can heat up in the microwave and drinks to put in the fridge because the hotel is in an isolated area. If you are tired you and really do not want to be driving around to find food, bring your own grub and drinks. The indoor pool is nice as is the small gym. The breakfast in the morning is pretty good and drinking coffee in the deck facing the river is bonus!

Have stayed at this location twice in last 6 months and both times it was very peaceful, quiet, relaxing with friendly staff. The balcony over the river is a great place to relax after a long day of work.

Big, beautiful rooms with anything you would need or want. Clean. Quiet. Those overlooking river are especially nice, but if you don't want to pay extra, go sit on the patio and watch the sun set or rise on the river while fish jump and birds fly over. Hot breakfast has whatever you might want to eat and the area is clean and well-serviced. Close to mountain attractions and other parts of the river -- excellent trout fishing and rafting. Good walking trails. Great place for a vacation or a business stay. Best I've been to in a long time. Did not rate the dry cleaning, etc. because I was here for the room services only, and those were great.

We paid extra for river view and it was well worth the extra money. The room was nice and it was a normal hotel breakfast; in which was sometimes good and sometimes not so good. The staff were awesome/nice but not very professional.

Loved this place! Was a beautiful area and hotel. The hotel is extremely well taken care of. Rooms are clean updated and very nice. Breakfast was kept hot and filled regularly. The staff we talked to were helpful and very nice also.

This was our first stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and attractive. We were 2 adults and 2 children and the room was quite spacious. We were not cramped. The view of the river behind the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was good (there were gluten free options available). We will be back.

The whole area is lovely and the hotel on the river was the crown jewel. Excellent service and view of the river. Of all the Best Westerns they have the best concept of what temperature the pool, hot tub and ambient air should be in the spa. Very enjoyable experience.

Nice hotel throughout - exterior, lobby, halls, and the room, seems newer, really like the decor and color scheme. Very nice folks, including the breakfast personnel. Didn't use their internet since I usually prefer my hotspot anyway. The breakfast was good good for included at this price level. Had a comfy night's sleep. And the river was a way cool treat! Oh, and we didn't even stay riverfront - I can only imagine how awesome that would be! Will definitely be back if ever in the area again!

Was here for business and the staff was very attentive, rooms were clean, beds were soft, breakfast was great! overall, no complaints here!! thank you for making my stay and experience in Dillsboro memorable!

We were in town looking for places to rent since we are relocating to the area and happened just searched for nearby hotels and this was one of the choices. It was a good one. Even though slightly off the beaten path tucked back by the rivers edge it was really nice. The night staff was awesome and answered any questions we had about the area. Rooms are nice and even though we didn't choose the river view our three year old Son was more than ecstatic with what we called the train view since he got to see a couple of trains the following morning. The free breakfast had a little something to offer everyone hot breakfast, cereal, fruit, bagels, etc.... We ended up staying in town another day and did not think twice about returning to this hotel for night number two.

We stay here as part of a large motor-car group each summer. The rooms are nice and modern and the beds are comfortable and everything is clean. I recommend paying extra and having a river-view balcony room. It is so peaceful that you can get lost in your mind as if you were the only person there. You are directly ON the river. It is literally FEET away from your balcony. If you enjoy the outdoors and serenity of it, this place will not let you down.

Had a great room overlooking the Tuckasegee River . Very relaxing sitting on balcony overlooking the River . Breakfast was exceptionally good . Hotel is not far from downtown Sylva with its neat shops and restaurants. Its also not far from Great Smoky Mountain National Park .

Room was large and clean. Early breakfast had plenty of options for all tastes. Ample parking close to the building. Unfortunately the weather wasn‘t pleasant enough to enjoy the scenic deck. Maybe next time.

I think this is the best hotel if you are visiting Sylva, Dilsboro, or Cullowhee,NC.It is modern, clean, and safe but the view of the river is the big draw! You can get a room with balcony by the river.

Our son goes to WCU so we have stayed at most of the hotels in the area and this Best Western is one of the nicer ones, and has a great view on the river. The breakfast is better than average as well. The prices do jump up significantly during football season

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Super clean and really nice staff! Breakfast was amazing and it was a perfect get away for our first Anniversary trip! We were never bothered and could just simply enjoy ourselves.

Stayed overnight to celebrate my birthday with the luminary Christmas celebration in Dillsboro. Was very impressed with size of room and being able to walk outside room and sit by river. Love the rocking chairs! Breakfast was decent.

We had rooms with a beautiful river view. The rooms were large, clean and nicely appointed. The hotel is about 20 minutes from skiing and 20 minutes from The Harrah's casino We loved staying there and will return again next year.

Beautifully decorated hotel, loved the fireplace in the lobby gave a nice warm cozy touch to the decor, rooms were clean and crisp felt like I was the only person that had ever stayed in that room. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because of the beautiful view and access to the outside from the room s balcony! To wake in the morning with the sun glistening on the water of the rushing river and tucked off to the side the mountain in a short distance was absolutely majestic.This was one of the best hotels I have visited, I will definitely be back!!

We was pleasantly surprised of how much we have enjoyed staying at Best Western Plus in Dillsboro, NC. This is second time not a bad drive from Casino. It is right on the river and patio all the way across back of Hotel so you can see the water and all the ducks and kayak on the river in the summer time. Lovely hidden treasure.

All I can say is WOW! I would never pick a Best Western to stay at just driving down the highway but after searching and reading reviews we made reservations here. This place does not disappoint. The scenery, the staff, the rooms, the amenities all were great. We had a corner river view room on the ground floor and was nice size (not sure if it was bigger or smaller than a typical room). The room had a walkout patio that you could sit out and enjoy the view. The room was spotless except for an empty pack of cigarettes on the patio. The pool area was spotless and stocked with plenty of towels. The kids enjoyed it very much. The only drawback was the handicap lift to get in and out of the tub was not working. Front desk said it needed a new battery pack. They did have a free breakfast in the morning and again everything looked extremely clean and fresh. Outside there was a fire pit area with a few picnic tables. We did not use it but was told they supply the stuff if you choose to build a fire. Only drawback here is the pebble ground covering is not very wheelchair or power chair friendly. The town was absolutely beautiful and we hope to return in the summer or fall and stay here again.

The hotel location is great, overlooking the river. Hotel staff were nice. Oncely issue I had was when we found bug on one of our bed and urine stain on one bed sheet. Hotel staff promptly replaced the bed sheet when we reported about the stain.

Will stay elsewhere next anniversary. Thought we would be making memories of a lifetime. Instead, had to cut short due to being uncomfortable and having a misrepresented view. Location was on a side road with the look of a forgotten construction area.

Great service by all of the staff. Everyone was very accommodating to all of my family needs. The room was clean. My only problem was the mattress was a little too soft on edges .However on a good note we all slept well. Breakfast selection was very good.

We visited Dillsboro last week end and stayed at the Best Western Plus in Dillsboro. A very clean hotel located on a small river with a beautiful view of the river and mountains. Everyone at the hotel were very professional but very friendly also. The town of Dillsboro offers lots of shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance of each other. A very cozy town, the people make you feel very welcome. A nice place to stop in and " smell the roses". Enjoy

Stayed here for a trip to take the kids on the Polar Express in Bryson City. Great service, pool is great, and kids loved the breakfast. Drive to Bryson City is not long, and Dillsboro is a great little town as well. Will definitely return to this hotel.

this location is absolutely breathtaking! Any problem is handled quickly and professionally. A must stay if traveling in the area! Comfortable beds, beautiful scenery, friendly staff and tasty food. Location is central to lots of small towns.

My husband and I came here for my 50th Birthday!!! The staff, mainly Ali and Megan, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable!!! We wound up being snowed in, but the hotel has beer and wine and food in their tiny store!! We celebrated in style in our room!!! The hotel has a refrigerator and a microwave in the rooms! A nice walk-in shower, an indoor pool and jacuzzi!!! I can not think of a better place to be SNOWED IN!!! Thank you BEST WESTERN DILLSBORO & especially ALI & MEGAN!!! Ali even wrecked her car to get to work today and will stay the weekend in the hotel so she can work!! What a dedicated Employee!!! Spacious rooms and friendly staff! It was a great stay with a beautiful view of the river. Clean and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel. I wish I had been a little earlier in the season to see the autumn colors against the river.

My family and I have been traveling to Bryson City for the last 13 years to enjoy the Polar Express. 12 out of our 13 years we have stayed at the Best Western. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. My children love to go out on the back deck and sit by the river, and the surrounding mountain scenery is very enjoyable.

I always love staying at the Best Western. They are super friendly, and they are eager to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast was good, and they encouraged to take some fruit with you for later. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff was very professional. I would stay there again.

This is particular hotel puts the BEST in Best Western. One cannot go wrong choosing this place for your lodging needs. Easy access to almost all attractions! Breakfast selections were plentiful. Pool and hot tub was extremely clean. Lots of parking. I highly recommend.

We stayed here for one night when we took the Polar Express in nearby Bryson City. We found the hotel to be family friendly, clean, excellent staff, updated decor. The grandkids enjoyed the indoor pool. Loved sitting outside our room and taking in the views of the river. We would like to come back in the summer to enjoy the many outdoor activities nearby.

We were in town for a volleyball tournament at Western Carolina. First time in the area, and the hotel was the perfect location. Rooms were clean, service great, and the riverfront rooms with balcony allowed us to enjoy the scenery. Great dining options nearby, and historic Sylva was a lovely spot to eat, drink and shop between matches.

Stayed here once before few years back and still is very cozy and quiet. Open the balcony just to hear the river below rushing away. Suggest to book early cause hotel does fill up quickly. We usually stay when visiting the Polar Express in Bryson City. Very easy on and off access to the Smoky Mountain Expressway, just make sure you bring a camera.

Beautiful location, very clean lobby and outside dining area, nice and efficient staff. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Will definitely book this hotel if needed when we are in the Western NC Mountains again!

The hotel was long the river with a beautiful view with calming sounds of the water and birds. We loved the fire pits and fun of sitting by a fire in the evening by the water. There was an excellent breakfast in the mornings. The atmosphere, furnishings and lighting made the common areas very inviting and friendly.

Over priced, to say the least. Nice Hotel, but now worth the money. Season, our check in clerk was very helpful & friendly. Comical, to say the least, when you walk into your room needing to use the restroom, to find no toilet paper on the dispenser, and no toilet paper IN the room. Had to find some for the bathroom. With my Military Discount, this room was just near $200 with tax for a night, and it wasn't even a spa/hotub room, just a River View. Had just left Gatlinburg, stayed in a 2 room Suite, with a 2 person spa, and was a nicer room, and it was only $85 a night, with tax. This place is nice, but extremely over priced. Highlights was the staff of this hotel, and the breakfast was fantastic, especially the omelets. Clean eating area, and had scored a 100 with North Carolina, which is excellent. The lady that runs the Breakfast was excellent.

Very nice location on the river, so try getting the room with the river view. Friendly staff members. Good quality rooms. Breakfast could be much better but with "free breakfast" you get what you pay for.

We enjoyed our recent stay. It is always a pleasure to see Season and be treated so graciously by her staff. We look forward every year to go to the mountains and stay at this hotel and enjoy talking to the staff. Overall great stay in a nice hotel right on the river. There were a couple of leaf hopper bugs in the room but that's to be expected for the mountain location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had the government rate so price was OK.

In a rural industrial area of town right next to train tracks, tucked parallel against the edge of the river. Great view, but very noisy service road behind the hotel on other side of river. Received handicap room, bed height too low, the plastic sheet was not appealing nor comfortable. Bed edges very soft - lacked support. Room was clean & acceptable.

The grounds are spectacular here. The river, patio, deck and outdoor fire pit. I loved them all. Will return every fall for the color changing. The pool and hot tub were new and clean. Balcony has super nice Amish chairs.

Stayed here for Western Carolina University's Homecoming weekend, and don't regret it at all! It was a beautiful room with a beautiful view!! Would definitely stay here again!!! Actually plan on it as soon as I'm able to make another trip!

This is a lovely hotel located right on the river. The hotel and the rooms are very comfortable, and there is an outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy the serenity. The small towns of Dillsboro and Sylva had quaint shops and good restaurants. Loved it!

River View was a PLUS Location was good. Very quiet. Would recommend to any one! Staff was very good. Look up on line for this location and the pictures shown don't show the entire beauty of this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights while my husband was fly fishing in the area. The facility was very clean and neat throughout. Staff was cheerful and helpful. Loved the view. Wish there were sidewalks in order to walk safely into the center of Dillsboro.

This is a great place to stay after a day of riding. Get a room on the 3rd floor with a view, you will be happy you did. Staff is very friendly.Breakfast was good. Close to town. My only complaint if the pool is not " heated" and the hot tub is only a "hot tub", not a Jacuzzi. FIX THE HOT TUB! If you want a relaxing / quiet place to stay with great views stay at the Best Western Escape Inn.

Hotel is located on river and has a nice view and vibe with seating on a deck overlooking the river. Rooms have been updated and decorated very nicely. Great complimentary breakfast included both hot and cold options. A good value for the money. Have stayed in more expensive places with less ambience and room quality. Would stay here again!

Way too expensive for the quality of service received! Our room was not ready at check in and we requested on morning that our room be done early. We came back at 2:30 in the afternoon and the room was still not done. Beds had been stripped so my husband (who takes medication that makes him tired) was unable to put up the Do Not Disturb sign and take a nap causing us to cancel our dinner plans.

Great place to stay on the river. Super clean facility and grounds. Pleasant staff genuinely glad to greet and engage you. Can open your windows at night and listen to the river sounds. This was our second trip to this Best Western and we are planning a third.

This hotel is a bit out of the way but is still convenient to what we wanted to do. The front view is not so nice buit we had a back room and a gorgrous view of the river. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful.

Went for a quick trip to visit my daughter at WCU. Absolutely love the back over looking the river. A great place to read a book or have a glass of wine. The fire pit was a nice way to meet new people.

We passed the town on our way south and by coincidence saw this place from the bridge and decided to stay the night. We had a big balcony overlooking the river - room was very big with good mattresses. The girl at the reception was very helpful as to where we could find a place to eat and she just provided very good service.generally. We arrived late in the afternoon so we didn't really have time to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the nice view of the river and the mountains but it sure was great to listen to the river all night (we had the window open with mosquitonet firmly in place) and wake up to a beautiful view of the clouds hanging low in the mountains the next morning. Breakfast was great (both cereal, eggs, bisuits etc)- the lady that managed the breakfast was very nice and attentive to people in the breakfastroom. We will come again if in the area.

This is my favorite hotel when we visit our son at Western Carolina. The rooms are large and very clean. We always stay on the river side so that we can have that awesome view. We would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had seen this motel last year and decided we would come here this year. Great decision- lovely rooms- great staff and we both loved listening to the river at night and drinking our coffee on balcony in morning and whatever in evening. Look forward to next year. Also hot breakfast was very nice and the evening cookies were WOW.

I stayed here for a recent business trip. Very clean, quite, & comfortable. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly & helpful. In clcse proximity to some great restaurants & cute little shops. I will definitely stay again when back in the area.

This is one of the most beautiful and clean hotels we've stayed in. It has a very relaxing atmosphere with room decks overlooking the river. The deck furniture is so comfortable, and you can watch people kayak and the ducks swim. The staff are extremely helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

I can always count on Best Western to be clean and offer a good deal including a simple but solid breakfast. This BW, however, had one of the best views, right on the river and is worth it to get a room on the river side. There was a bit of noise from the highway across the river, but mostly you just heard the water rushing over the rocks. The staff was also the most friendly of all the BW I have stayed at.

My grandson is a football player at Western Carolina University and we all ways stay at this Best Western Plus during football season because of the river In the back of hotel and it is very clean and the staff is excellent and accommodating.

Love staying on the Riverside - so relaxing - heated pool & spa - rocking chairs by the river - home away from home. Staff is so nice& friendly - I would like to give a shout out to Josh!!!!!!! He was especially friendly.

This hotel is always consistent from room quality to the staff at the front desk. I always know that I will have a great experience at this location every month. After a not so good experience with another establishment in town, Best Western has continued to meet every need with their facilities. I will be back again next month!

This was a totally enjoyable stay! The location was perfect for exploring the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Smokey Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest and white water rafting. Our room was clean (no toothpaste splatters all around the bathroom), roomy and we'll lit. Loved the balcony overlooking the river. The pool and deck areas were so nice and we'll maintained. There was a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, just the sound of the river rapids.

To quote my boyfriend - it's rare that you go somewhere that is actually "better than advertised." This hotel was definitely one of those experiences. He saw this hotel in "Our State" magazine and I am certainly glad he did!! We can't say enough about the room, the hotel in general, and the view from our room was absolutely AMAZING! The river was literally feet away from our patio and we spent many hours sitting on the patio or on the hotel deck, just looking out at the water and chatting. I honestly don't know how the trip could have been any better - and I believe the hotel was a big factor in making our holiday weekend a great one. This hotel is one I would definitely visit again and again...

Short stay but very relaxing. We have stayed here two times before and alway enjoyed the experience. You can relax by the river or you're just minutes from shopping and other attractions. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff.

Nice, newish or updated hotel. Our 2nd story room was spacious and clean, nice roll in shower with bars, which made it safer for my handicapped husband, a microwave, mini refrigerator and safe were in the room also. There was a patio, outside the downstairs breakfast area (free breakfasts) that overlooked the river. There were nice tables and chairs so you could eat or just sit and watch the river and the wildlife. Beyond the deck was an area where rocks had been made into a fire pit. All of the above is enough to make this hotel a very nice place to stay but, it was the people that worked there, especially Vic and Franklin (I hope that I got their names right) that made our stay awesome.

We love staying at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, the location is nice and the view can't be beat. We have stayed here many times but this time we were pleasantly surprised that the rooms had been completely remodeled. Very nice decor. Our only complaint was the bed wasn't very comfortable. A gorgeous locale, great hotel, will return! Was there for a mini-family reunion..one outstanding feature was the availability of tables and seating away from the doors of the hotel, which was perfect for our mini-reunion, and didnt interfere with guests of the hotel. Being on the bank of the Tuckaseegee River, a beautiful fast-running stream with rainbow and brown trout, our group had such a great time in a beautiful setting..We definitely will return!!

Room not cleaned one night when we returned late and tired went to front desk for Towels. Water pressure for shower stop and start. TV reception avail on only a few channels. Disappointed in hotel fitness room very small. This was not a quality hotel but a rate of $150 + for Fri and Sat night implied that it was a quality establishment.

Was there for the 2017 Eclipse! This hotel did a great job to offer guests a special welcome package and host an eclipse viewing party the next day. Beautiful locating next to a picturesque river tucked into the mountains. Great terrace over seeing it all. Breakfast was well done with nice dining area and plenty of continental options. Would definitely stay again if I'm back in the area.

An excellent place for riverside relaxing. Beds were comfortable, refrigerator a decent size, and outside deck was very enjoyable. If you are not on any kind of restricted diet, breakfast was plentiful.

Our second stay was a great experience to view the eclipse. The staff was so creative, with a gift bag which included much-sought-after eclipse glasses, and a reception featuring moon pies, sun chips, eclipse cupcakes, and more. The hotel is very clean, and we really enjoy the whirlpool room. The breakfast is a step above the normal hotel-grade complimentary breakfast, though the single heated cabinet create a log-jam with people waiting in line. Peaceful setting, with one exception: During the week, many dump trucks are constantly driving by just across the river (there is a quarry/storage facility there). Just as irritating were some guests who brought a drone and kept flying it over the river. The hotel needs a policy limiting those to operation on the street side only, if at all. Room privacy is a concern with drones overall.

I had not stayed at a Best Western for years, but decided to try something different. What a smart decision on my part! The overall appearance and amenities of this hotel were above average, and the view of the river was relaxing. Just what I needed. Breakfast overlooking the river is hard to beat! I would also like to complement the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Well worth the value!

We requested river view room with jacuzzi, the room was great, had a balcony with great "adirondack"chairs to view the river. Room was very clean and very large. Extremely happy with room. Breakfast was a standard complimentary breakfast, good way to start a busy day of hiking and rafting. The price was perfect for a 4 night / 5 day stay. Also, Megan at the desk was so informed as to things to do and places to eat. I would absolutely stay there again. Dillsboro was a great town, centrally located in Smokey Mountains.

This is the first time we have stayed in this hotel and everything about it is amazing! The view from our deck, free homemade cookies, hot tub, swimming pool, polite staff and very clean and modern.....we were very impressed!

Riverfront room with balcony was great. Geese come in daily to rest and eat. Rafters kayak and paddle boards floating by. Bed sunk to the middle. Chairs in room and breakfast to low hard to get out of.

Only stayed one night. Room was very clean. Had a river view room and would definitely stay again. Breakfast was typical hotel continental breakfast. A pet peeve of mine for hotel rooms is there usually isn't a hanger in the bathroom for the hand towel, but there was actually a place to hang the hand towel here :).

Hotel is along Tuskegee River away from town. Yet it is close to the Smokies and the Blue Ridge Parkway, A great base for trips to those areas. Staff are great, as is breakfast. Staying on the river side for the first time (we have stayed here many times), we say a great blue heron fishing in the river on several of the days we were there.

I have always enjoyed staying at this hotel, but in recent years (I guess the remodel did not help any either) the prices have continued to rise to typically over $200 a night. Rooms are rather large and most have sofa sleepers too, so not bad for 2+ people either. The riverside rooms are even higher cost and would have enjoyed that even more, but used a discount thru Hotels.com, so was not available for the discount price. Worth staying there if you have an activity or business in the area. We went to Cherokee to the outdoor drama and was back at the hotel in less than 30 minutes.

Great place to stay. Great scenery and good location to go white water rafting, visit the casino and close to Gatlinburg Tennessee. I would highly recommend someone staying at this hotel. This was my second visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus River Escape Inn. Loved the calm and relaxed setting. The fitness room was great and the pool and hot tub felt wonderful. My son loved fishing the river and although he never caught a trout, he did catch some small mouth bass. My only complaint is we only got to stay 1 night but we will definitely be back!

Gave us the wrong room. Had to wait 2 hours for sheets and blanket to be put on the bed. View was good of the river. They do not get back with you in a timely manner. Would not stay again unless it was only place left

The rooms and service were great. Plus the river was nice. Great vacation spot and close to other attractions. Nice to breakfast area and the pool area waa great for the kids. You can sit by the fire and see the stars at night good stay.

I booked 4 months in advance - my one request/requirement was that the room should have a safe but it was not working. I was later told that I came too late in the day for them to activate it (what a crock) and it didn't get activated (fixed) until 3PM the next day. Found a bug on the bed, the sheets looked like they hadn't been changed - they were all wrinkled. Found bits of food on the floor by the furniture. I asked to speak to a Manager several times but each time there was no Manager on duty. I left a message for the General Manager to get back to me but my call has not yet been returned. Without a doubt, the worst service I have ever experienced in a hotel at all levels.

Great hotel but watch your wallet when it comes to room rates. Calling the hotel will get u a high rate. Stick to the discount internet companies. Rates are all over the place and change daily. Visit there often but can't ever get the same good rate twice.

We enjoyed our stay, it was short only one night... We got a room with a river view. Beautiful to see and just sit and listen to. every staff member we encountered was very helpful and friendly. my only complaint is the bed was not comfortable.

Our family decided to take a last minute trip to the mountains. We made the reservations on our way there around 10 p.m. on a Friday night. Check in when we arrived went great. Hotel is a short distance to many attractions. The view outside the hotel is amazing. The amenities they offer are great and free breakfast. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I was in Dillsboro for my sister in law's wedding. She booked a group rate at this hotel and asked us to stay there as I was in the wedding party and she wanted all of us together. I had previously planned on renting a house. I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the hotel and it's location were. The breakfast went well beyond a typical continental breakfast. The staff was very nice and the rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone coming to Western Carolina.

This is our second visit to the Best Western River Escape and it will not be our last. We came for our family reunion. The location is great: the morning buffet is outstanding; and the accommodations are excellent. The staff is very friendly and took care of all of our needs.

Stayed here for a "last chance at summer" mini-vacation before school started back. My daughter and I took a father-daughter road trip to go rafting and picked this for our overnight accommodations. We were very pleased with all aspects of the stay! I opted for a room with a river view and was glad that I did - it was great to just sit out there and soak up the scenery. The pool was in great shape, there were plenty of snacks and drinks at the front desk if you needed a little something extra, and the beds were comfortable, not too soft or too firm (Is it just me, or does it feel like you're sleeping on concrete at some places these days?). Everyone staying there seemed sociable and friendly. This was definitely a family friendly place, in a good way. It was convenient to a number of restaurants within just a few miles. Be aware that the road leading to the hotel is somewhat industrial, but trust me you will overlook that very quickly.

Very nice hotel on the river! Private, great front desk staff. We will return when we are in this area of NC again. We enjoyed the river from the balcony in our room. Very clean and decent breakfast! I recommend highly!

We have stayed at this Best Western before....enjoying the river right outside our balcony, a clean room and a quiet night's sleep. This experience, however, was unfortunate. My husband paid cash when we checked in. I agreed to an e-mail receipt. I did not look at the receipt until I got home. Our room had been charged to my American Express card that I gave to reserve the room. I called Am Exp and disputed the charge explaining the details. Am Exp deleted the charge from my card.

Very nice and clean. Rooms were nice and spacious. Beautiful view of the Tuckaseegee River. Nice gym room and nice indoor pool. Staff was polite and helpful. Would recommend and will definitely come back.

We loved this hotel right on the Tuckasegee River with a great patio out back if you don't get a room with a balcony on the river side, but get that if you can. The hotel is really nice but the setting makes it excellent!

My husband and I love staying here. We always find it clean with a helpful staff. The best part is getting a river view room with a balcony! We were there in June and never turned the AC on. We slept with the window open listening to the river as we fell asleep! Relaxing on the balcony in the evening was the perfect way to end a busy day of sightseeing!

We love staying here. The location is perfect, both for the river view and the strategic position at a major intersection near attractions. Watching the rafts and tubes enhances the experience. I love the addition of snacks and drinks. They even let us borrow a corkscrew.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights after arriving from the UK. What a gem and so relaxing after a long flight. We had a river front room which was great. The hotel is in a fabulous position. We spent the day sitting out and watching people rafting down the river and reading. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is in easy walking distance from the town walking down the railway tracks for dinner. If we are back in the area we will definitely stay here again.

Our daughter attends Western Carolina University, and this is approximately 5 miles away from the campus. We have been staying here since 2014, and it is one of our favorite destinations! If you stay on the river side of the hotel, you wake up to fresh air and the beautiful rapids right on the balcony! The free breakfast is warm and delicious and the staff are wonderful. This is a great place to stay, and we have never been disappointed. The owner has remained the same for some time, and they have a beautiful place. If you are going to WCU, this is a great pace for parents to stay.

This hotel is super clean and is in a perfect location overlooking the river. The breakfast was plentiful and really good, not just your standard toast and muffins. My only complaint was that we had to ask for toilet paper and were not given another bath mat after room was cleaned. But overall I would definitely stay here again.

Have stayed here 3 times. On our last visit, was glad to see the hotel had been upgraded. Rooms are very nice, good shower. if you come get a room overlooking the river. Excellent staff and they serve a nice spread for breakfast....everything from pancakes to waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, cereal and more.I grew up in the coal fields of Va. The drive into the hotel reminded me of this. Don't be alarmed, once you arrive you will not notice.

Beautiful location, right on the river, however it was overpriced. Bed was mushy. Booked a double queen-given a single accessible and a roll away. Coffee was weak, basically dirty water. Staff was friendly.

We came to Dillsboro NC to relax and that's exactly what we did. When we arrived at the Best Western we were greeted with a smiling face and a wonderful attitude. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we hand a very enjoyable stay. The room was very tastefully decorated and that view of the river....that's what I came for and it did not disappoint. Great job team, we will be back!!!

The hotel is off the main roads with and sits right off the Tuchaseegee. Our river view room with two queen size beds was quiet and clean. I found the beds and pillows very comfortable. We took advantage of the free breakfast...very typical but stepped up variety...yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit,bagels, toast, muffins, waffles, eggs, sausage bacon, biscuits, gravy and grits.

Had three nights here as part of a road trip. Really nice hotel. We had rooms on the ground floor with access to the terrace and overlooking the river - they were perfect. It was a great place to sit with a coffee and enjoy the view. Spacious rooms and a good breakfast and coffee/tea was available most of the day. Good location to visit the Smoky mountains and Cherokee. One or two restaurants in Dillsboro but found more in Silva .

We have stayed at this motel numerous times and always with great pleasure, several times adding miles to our route just to stay there. However, our last stay was unsatisfactory. While the facility, staff, and service were as great as ever, while out on the room's balcony enjoying the ambiance of the river, someone started a fire in the poolside fire pit. from the obnoxious odors emitted by the resulting smoke there was a heavy odor of suspected petroleum distillates. Thus we were forced to abandon the balcony, close the windows, and still endure the smell until the A/C cleared it from the room. Heretofore we'd also enjoyed peaceful stays. On this visit it sounded like a herd of cattle on the floor overhead and someone playing a Chinese fire drill with room doors. That did pretty much abate by 10:00 PM with one outburst of stomping feet just after 3:00 AM. This is still a GREAT place to stay if they correct the fire pit's smoke and fumes. The ability to sit on the balcony and enjoy the river is the main attraction that has continued to draw us back back to this motel ( in addition to a great staff).

The sound of water flowing over rocks is very relaxing to my wife (and to me). Beautiful location. Lots of attractions close by. Well staffed, friendly and helpful. Having a balcony overlooking the rapids is a real plus.

The setting is beautiful! Service great! The room decor(blue sheers) MUST GO. Makes the room dark and dreary. Should be bright and open. We were shocked at the change! We stay once or twice a year. It is so peaceful to set and watch any time of the day!

This hotel had a very comfortable vibe and the view was just beautiful with the view of the river.Nice outdoor sitting areas to chat and visit with friends or family. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was good too. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area. This part of the country is just gorgeous with the views of the mountains and the river. Very relaxing.

This hotel was off the highway and I would not have known of it had I not booked for a wedding. It did not disappoint at all. The river rooms are the way to go-the views of the rushing river from the patios are awesome. I would recommend it to anyone and I even said to my husband I would not mind spending a week there, the views were so restful.

What a pleasant surprise to find this hotel tucked away in the mountains, on the river. The hotel overall has a 100 rating and we would give it 100+ for cleanliness, service, accommodating and friendly staff. The hotel owner was very present and helping his staff meet everyone's needs. The staff at this property made our Anniversary trip a wonderful experience! The ambience and location of this hotel is very special. Everyone was so kind and attentive to all our needs. We have already made plans to return July 4th and in October! This area and hotel is a must see destination.

I love this hotel! First of all, the rooms are very, very nice and extremely clean. They are also very roomy. The views overlooking the river are exquisite. Every staff member we dealt with was kind, professional, and helpful. In particular, I was extremely impressed with Jess, Season, and Meagan. This is a lovely hotel with warm and helpful staff. You can't do better than this.

Very nice place! The breakfast was wonderful!!!! Overall good! Need new pillows, but I like a big pillow not small ones! We ate breakfast outside overlooking the river! So peaceful! The employees were very nice and helpful.

We visit North Carolina often since we have family living there. I have found myself planning my trips only when I can get a suite in this Hotel. It is the best we have ever stayed in and I highly recommend it......

We were meeting family in a place that we had not been. Started with a house but I needed a bathroom that was handicapped accessible . Houses were not working out. Found this BWPlus and it had accessible bathrooms. We had a balcony on the river and the view was great. Unfortunately it rained everyday there and we could only sit out once. The hotel had a beautiful patio and we could only use it once ( the day we lift for breakfast). The common areas were very clean. A nice hot breakfast was provided and area clean. The cookies at night were a very nice touch. Would have liked more . Most people took more than one and they did not last long. Close to many places to eat and all the activities we were going to do ( GSMRR, Cherokee,Maggie Valley,etc). Highly recommend this BW Plus.

The staff is excellent and the accommodation ls are superb! Dillsboro is a quaint little town and offers close proximity to Sylva, Cullowhee, and WCU. Also Franklin is not that far away! Loved my stay

Every Memorial Day weekend, we run away to Best Western Plus River Escape in Dillsboro, NC. This year was no different. We are warmly welcomed. Always have a room with two beds, with a balcony over looking the river. The stress of daily life just seems to melt away as we watch the problems of the day flow down the river. It is the greatest place to rest, revive, restore and remember to enjoy life. Renovations are completed and the lobby/breakfast area and rooms are beautiful. There is more variety for breakfast than last year. Always enjoy the pancakes and muffins. Coffee is great. Even have coffee in the room before going downstairs. It is with regret when we have to leave. BUT, we have a reservation for next year already. Feel better to know I have a "room" for that specific date. The cost is not the concern, the room is. This is the only hotel that goes out of its way to do that for us. Where we stay in Gatlinburg, we have to sign a list and "wait" for them to call and hope we get a room. Thank you, Best Western Plus River Escape for truly letting us "escape" from the world for a few wonderful, peaceful hours. Till next year.......................

They updated the interior since I've been to this hotel it looks better than before. The service was great and the view of the river is spectacular. I would recommend this hotel to those people who are staying in the area or coming to visit WestWeb Carolina university.

Nice somewhat hidden property...Very nice area and relaxing patio overlooking river..Good staff nice guests def will stay again. If I'm being picky I personally would prefer outdoor pool & hot tub not stuffy indoors..

this is my favorite BW due to its location on a dynamic river where the rooms are so close the view and sound of a rippling river is apart of the rooms décor with its sliding door and balcony. While the indoor pool is inviting the towns of Dillsborro and Silva NC invitees one to stay for days.

River Rapids right outside of our patio door. Delightful scenery, large room with all amenities and a hearty breakfast. No other buildings nearby but close to many fine restaurants in Sylva North Carolina

We had a balcony overlooking the gorgeous river. We have never had a better river view. It was so romantic at night in the moon light. Open your Balcony Door and relax to the roar of the River. We observed Wild geese,Ducks and even a white Crane in the fast moving waters. The motel is fairly new and the rooms are in good condition. We had a room with a Jacuzzi that had a broken button that you had to work with to get to work but other then that the room was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was the standard "Continental" type. A patio is available so you can sit by the river for Breakfast. The hotel is secluded with little activity in the area but only a short ride to the rustic town of Dillsboro.

When my brother came to visit I recommended this Motel. I literally drove around and checked out each motel and the grounds and this one had the most Ambience. The front desk staff was friendly. The rooms were roomy, clean and nicely appointed. Overall I would say this stay was very pleasant and the room was very nice.

On the southern side of the Smokey Mountains this small gem of a hotel at Dillsboro is "a really nice place to stop and unwind". Definitely one of the best 'Best Wester Plus' hotels we have encountered in the USA getting full marks for every aspect of comfort, service and friendly staff. Unfortunately our stay was limited to just one night, but that was enough to determine that we will definitely be going back, even if we have to make a detour. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, breakfast was more than expected and wow - say no more. Walk or ride into close by Dillsboro town for a nice dining experience.

I stopped very late at night because I just was too tired to drive any further. No reservation but I did get a room. The young lady at the front desk was very polite and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. I was sorry this was not my destination because I could have stayed here and been happy to stay. But I continued on my journey next morning ... Or tried to.. I had a dead battery. Because it was so early I could not find any service open. I consulted with the young man at the front desk. Eric had been so friendly and polite I thought he could recommend someone locally I could call for help..Eric went beyond what I expected. He was just getting off work so he helped me start my car and then followed me to an auto parts store just in case I needed more help before I got there. What a wonderful young gentleman.

I've traveled to the Sylva, Dillsboro, and Franklin areas many times this year.... Even more over the past four years. I generally stay in a cabin, but this time I chose the Best Western River Escape. It was phenomenal. From the check-in staff, breakfast staff, check-out staff, facility, room, and view, I could not be happier. The price was excellent. The location is convenient to every place I enjoy visiting and I doubt that I will ever rent a cabin again. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet for the first floor. It was perfect!

I brought my Mom & Dad for the weekend and they just loved it! I had been here before a few years ago, and was excited to go back. The staff is extremely friendly and the rooms are nice and clean. We will be back!

Best option for the area with wonderful views of the river. If you can, spend the extra $ to get a river view room. Very relaxing after working all day. Bed was so-so. May need to replace some mattresses.

I booked this for one night. I was in a rush and did not check out any of the photos posted. It's on the other side of the tracks, not sure what I've gotten myself into. Well landscaped, very friendly, informative front desk clerk. Very nice, well appointed interior. Walked out the back door and was blown away. Great deck overlooking the river, miniature rapids, three men fishing on the opposite bank. There's a guy and his dog in a kayak coming from upstream. I did not want to leave! There's a walking trail into town. Rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Good array of breakfast choices. I will be returning with my husband for a weekend getaway for sure.

Stayed two days, during a motorcycle trip to various parts of the area. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Have stayed here in the past and when return to area, will stay again. Recommend hotel to all Harley Owner Group members.

Modern, beautifully decorated and right next to a beautiful river. Absolutely lovely. The breakfast is really wonderful also. Very friendly staff. Certainly want to come back for vacation. The rooms are HUGE and the accommodations are top notch.

Having a great location on the river is a plus for this hotel. The appearance of the property is excellent, as are the lobby, breakfast area and the room we were in. Spend the extra money and get a river view room. It is worth the money.

This hotel was great. We originally booked for 2 nights but I was not feeling fell and had to cancel second night. We were kindly offered a refund on the second night which I thought was unheard of in the hotel business. Great hotel with a perfect location on the river. Very scenic views. Get a room with a balcony overlooking the river. Nice suite, lots of space. Comfortable beds and pillows. The hotel has a free breakfast that was nice, except the scrambled eggs were very watery. But the other items were good, waffles, sausage, cereals, boiled eggs, yogurt, etc.

We stayed overnight at this hotel and it is wonderful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The view of the river was the best!! I could have sat out on the balcony all day!

My wife and I stayed and room was clean and nice. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was fresh and plenty of choices. The front desk person was nice and helpful. I would recommend this hotel. The river runs all night , but room was quiet. The cookies were great .

Needs better housekeeping quality control....The first room we were given we found multiple body hairs on the bedsheets and pillows (both beds), we asked for and was given another room... again found hairs on the bedding (not as much as first room). We were going to leave and ask for our money back, but it was getting late and ended up staying, after asking that the bedding be changed. The question we asked ourselves was, if the bedding wasn't changed during room cleaning, what else wasn't cleaned.... making our stay somewhat uncomfortable. The location of the motel had pluses and minuses.... the rear of hotel borders on the river (great), but the front is right across from railroad tracks (although it's seldom used) that detracts from the hotels appearance. Overall, the pool area was nice and clean. The only issue was that the jets on the hot tub we're not very invigorating, very minimal pressure ( not sure if this was intentional or not, didn't ask). The breakfast was pretty good, although limited for a "BW Plus". The staff was okay, although I felt they should've offered a room discount b/c of the housekeeping issues. There's a lot to like about the hotel.... Unfortunately the initial impression put a damper on our visit.

This location was a random pick for us during our travels to FL. We really were impressed with the cleanliness and beautiful setting right on the river. The patio just outside our room was a great bonus. Would definitely stay here again if we're in the area!

This is a very nice property situated in a scenic area. The staff was excellent and our queen suite was spacious with both a bed, sofa, and desk with chair. Dillsboro is just a short drive to Cherokee, Sylva, Maggie Valley, Franklin, Waynesville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Smoky Mountain National Park and numerous other area attractions.

Please read this whole review. After being woke up at 10:30 pm our first night and told there might be a problem about our room we were informed the next morning we would have to move. I informed them we would not agreed to that. After putting a do not disturb sign on our door(I don't like my things touched by someone else) while in Ashville @ the Biltmore I was informed by phone that did happen. When we returned all our things had been moved to another room. Wish you could see pictures of how our things were left. Even my toothbrush had just been put on top of a ice chest and not wrapped up or anything. Computer was throw in opened luggage(not placed on desk as in other room) and other items as while. We stayed here because of a great article written in the Birmingham News about it's location. I will never believe what I read again but than you might not believe this. I told two managers we would not move and this happened anyway. The room we were put in had a headboard for a king and only a queen bed was there. The nightstands on the wall were therefore at least 8 to 12 inches from the bed. I booked on Hotels.com and booked a river view room. That's what we had till we were moved. I can't blame the staff but do the management. this could happen to you.

We had a beautiful view of the river from our room! The breakfast room faces the river as well. It's a great place to stay, relax, and visit with friends. The town of Dillsboro is so cute and has some great places to eat! We love the mountains!

A word of caution before booking at this hotel: The original rate offered increased by $50 per night when we arrived to check in. There was no manager available on a Friday evening at 6:00 to help understand that we had only removed one night of our original reservation 3 days prior and we were never told that the rate had increased. We tried for 1 hour to get the problem resolved but to no avail. I would not stay here again because of the poor customer service.

$222/night for a room that overlooks a parking lot although it advertised and what I confirmed was a 'riverview', runs out of 'hot breakfast' (see picture of the empty trays - all of them :15 minutes before closing), noise from the elevator and every car that opens/closes a door/truck, and wifi that provides a constant 'spinning wheel trying to load' service. Top this off with a front desk that says "yes, our corporate website doesn't match our hotel but you can call back on Monday to talk with a manager" and you end up with an highly over priced experience. This hotel is worth $68 to $73/night.

Excellent quality and location. Very impressed overall. Book it. You will not be disappointed. Location and view from the river balcony rooms are a must do. Enjoyed the facility and the outside deck area.

Spent 3 days visiting Dillsboro, Sylva, and Bryson City. This hotel is right on the Tuck river and our suite had a balcony over looking the river. Breakfast had a wide verity of hot and cold choses. Coffee available 24/7. Nice sitting area with double sided fireplace. Great place to stay

What a wonderful, surprising, beautiful place! Never knew about this little gem -- found it only because nothing else was available in the area (because of folks fleeing Florida because of Matthew). The surrounding area at first led us to believe we were going to be staying in an industrial facility or a warehouse, but then the property came into view and then we understood that part of the name (River Escape). We intend to escape to this hotel as many times as we can in the future when we are in the Sylva or Cherokee or Maggie Valley area (for example, to bring our grandchildren to ride the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad). Its was so peaceful and relaxing to sit on in the chairs just outside our room or walk to the veranda next to the lobby and drink wine and meet other equally happy guests (who made some excellent suggestions for other sights to see in the area). We wish we could have stayed here longer, but the place was booked up -- and certainly with very good reason!

We were pleased with the view of the river from our balcony. The rooms are outdated. The blankets smelled musty like they had not been washed in months. The breakfast was very nice and being able to sit outside while eating was a nice bonus. The check in staff and maintenance were very helpful and pleseant. Recommend you wash blankets and lowere the rate.

We decided to stop in Dillsboro for the night on our way through the Smoky Mountains. Check in was quick and easy. The front desk clerk, Kassidy, was very friendly and helpful. When we asked her for recommendations for dinner, she printed us a list of restaurants in the area with the hours of operation listed for each. We chose a river view room. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our balcony had two chairs with a small table to enjoy the beautiful river views. The continental breakfast had a lot to choose from. Omelets, waffles, cereals, etc Off the lobby is a balcony with chairs and rockers to enjoy the lovely river views. We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel.

This was a nice place in a nice town and a great getaway for a weekend. The staff was very friendly and the room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good (eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits, gravy, etc.) if you wanted to eat there, but is also very close to town and other options. We liked it and would go back.

This was our second stay at this hotel. Hotel,service,and amenities are excellent. Setting on the river is great. Pool and Hot Tub area is very nice. Breakfast good. Staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. Would recommend this hotel.

This hotel was a really nice find. We stayed on the 3rd floor, balcony room. It was really nice sitting on the balcony, listening to the river going over the rocks. The room was immaculate, beds were ok, and the hotel staff extremely professional.
