Je m’inscris Hotel is nice and clean. The room is very spacious, we booked two queens. The breakfast and coffee are yummy. The staff are very friendly. Definitely will recommend to friends and family. Matter of fact, we will try to book for BW chain hotels in the future before choose others.
The hotel does not have enough parking spaces adjacent to the hotel when they are full. I was told I would have to either park in a handicap spot and risk a ticket, on the other side of the railroad tracks in a dirt, pitch black field, or on the opposite side of the county highway approximately a block away at some other location. I requested a refund so I could find another hotel with parking but they refused. The kitchen and bathroom were outdated, and in general the room was just in fair condition. The breakfast was mediocre at best. Never Again!
Loved this Inn. Very clean, staff was friendly and helpful, wonderful breakfast with omelet bar, and nice accommodations. Came away very impressed and would highly recommend this to anyone traveling through this area. The decor was so fitting for this area of Washington state and followed the theme of the Inn.
Best Western Wheatland Inn in Colfax, WA is the best Best Western (or any other lodging) I've stayed at. My friend and I were there for two nights and it was perfect in every way. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The beds were a dream to sleep on and you can't beat the complimentary breakfast. So many choices and omelettes cooked to perfection. The price was amazingly affordable. If you are in this area and in need of lodging DO NOT miss this gem!!
The perfect place for a stay in Colfax, WA. I stay there regularly when visiting relatives in town, and everything is impeccable - excellent breakfasts, quiet, clean rooms, great AC/heat, safe parking area, and excellent directions from front desk receptionists.
The hotel was super clean, maintained and quiet. The staff was accommodating and the amenities, like the pool and hot tub were a fun option. We especially liked the breakfast available from 6-10am.
This was our first visit to this motel, and we were very pleased with our experience. We found ALL the staff to be very friendly and helpful, and our room clean and quiet. The shower pressure was not the best, but everything else was top-notch! The breakfast was awesome! They offer custom omelets made to order, and use real dishes and silverware! I came to photograph the Palouse region, and the staff were very helpful with various tips, etc. Please be aware that there is no elevator at this facility, so you may need to request a first-floor room accordingly. I would definitely return when in the area.
Over 65 year old woman traveling alone. Stayed at this hotel as my class reunion was 30 miles away in a small town with no amenities. Room was well appointed and super clean. Modern furniture, neutral walls, window treatments & carpet just fine. Bathroom well lit. Hallways were immaculate and I always felt safe. Easy parking and well lit. Breakfast options were great, a choice(s) for everyone! Breakfast staff were pleasant and efficient. Look no further than the Wheatland Inn if you need a hotel in the vicinity.
Although room was what may be expected at BW hotels, the made-to-order breakfast omelet and other options for breakfast was delicious. The pool and hot tub were clean and bed was very comfortable. But most of all, the personal note in our room, from owner/manager, made us feel valued as their guest!
I have been staying here for 16 years and will continue to stay here. It is the best Best Western I've ever stay at. Terrific staff who are attentive to every details. Cookies each night, lemonade in the afternoon. Great new breakfast omelet bar.....
Very clean and comfortable. Very well managed and staffed. Helpful and attentive staff. Pool, hot tub, and exercise room were also very clean and pleasant to use. Morning brunch was excellent. Over night parking is convenient and secure. This is a very good motel..
Very cean quiet hotel. All staff were friendly and efficient. There was a "full' breakfast as well as made to order omelets, excellently cooked.
The facility - rooms, breakfast, lobby - were all very good. But what stood out was the staff who all were friendly, welcoming, helpful, and very competent in their roles. They made my stay easier and a real pleasure.
Clean rooms, comfortable beds and a free breakfast.. it's what you are looking for. The staff are very nice and the location is easy to find.
great breakfast including omelet station and wonderful Note to Guests left in room...regarding Travelers on this earth in Jesus name.
One of the best places we have stayed at in a long time where really everything was perfect. Room, cleanliness, superb breakfast, location…
Room and facilities was very clean, staff was friendly and courteous. Allow pets. Full breakfast with eggs or omelette made to order.
Perfect place to stay in a fantastic small town. Everything went well. Great place for a motorcycle rider.
We got in late from being on flights from Oahu. I called to see the price and if they had a room. The customer service was way beyond excellent, and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a good way to start our day. We would definitely stay here again.
Excellent place to stay. The staff is fantastic and tries to accommodating your every need. The breakfast is adequate with omelets, ham and potatoes as the main dishes. The rooms are nice, good size with comfortable beds. They give you more than enough towels and toiletries. It is not in my normal area of travel but I have stayed a couple times and it works great.
We stayed here two nights and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the breakfast service was one of the best we've experienced. We will definitely stay here again.
The $30 per night pet fee is outrageous. A true junk fee. I refused to pay it. I worked with hotel management to reduce it to a one time $30 fee. I was staying 3 nights. With taxes the proposed pet fee would have added up to a night's stay!! If BW insists on changing pet junk fees I'll take my stays elsewhere. There is no justification for this level of fee. Dogs don't use towels or hot water and they don't eat your lousy breakfast food or use ANY hotel service. There is no “special “ clearing after. I verified this with hotel staff. The room is cleaned the same as it would have been after a three night stay without the dog. If a pet owner makes a mess then charge them a cleaning fee.
Booked 3 rooms then showed up )at 10 pm after traveling all day)and was told I could not have 3 rooms in my name after they let me book 3 rooms and that I had to have 3 adults with drivers licenses and that they had to cancel the previous bookings (that they let me do) and rebook the room into other peoples names. So we had to wait for the rest of our party to get there before we could get our rooms and had to wait for the front counter person to cancel the existing bookings and rebook then while we had to wait. Then were told we had to back outside and get our vehicle and license info even though we were about the only ones in the parking lot. The rest of the hotel and stay were great and the rest of the staff was great but they really dropped the ball on check in.
We all know you won't be able to book a room in Pullman, but I find the Colfax Best West a very good place to stay.Only 18 miles outside of Pullman, easy to park, exceptionally clean rooms and great staff has me returning for all Pullman events. My only complaint is EVERY HOTEL within spitting distance of WSU doubles the rates for Family Weekends,Graduation, and Football Weekends.
the room was clean and quite the front desk person was kind and informative. The hot tub was clean and hot. The pool area was clean. The cookies in the evening was an added bonus. The shower was clean and comfortable.
Great stay. Wish breakfast started at 5:30am during 2 weeks of deer season and cheaper prices on Cougar game weekends. Enjoyed everything except the things stated above. Very clean and great employees. They were very polite and helpful
What a fantastic place to stay! The front desk folks have all been wonderfully helpful and kind. The room was beyond expectations for cleanliness--the cleanest hotel we've been in so far on our road trip (hotel #7!). Also the best breakfast ! With real plates and flatware! Absolutely recommend this Best Western!!
In a nutshell, I have paid twice as much for hotels that don't even come close to this one. The BW in Colfax was one of the cleanest and best maintained places I have stayed in. Staff is awesome and very helpful and the hotel has everything you need for business and leisure travel in this area. Only thing missing was modern USB charger stations in the rooms. But other than that it was perfect.
The best place o the Palouse to stay. From the front desk agents Becky, Rita, & Devanie who go the Extra Mile to ensure your stay is the best. LaTam in their Brekfast room has everything under control no matter how busy they are. Would recommend you stay here
A newly remolded facility . helpful staff, clean , comfortable rooms. Didn't;t care fro the breakfast and this facility really should have an elevator. One simple expects an elevator in a modern two story building these days.
We always look for a Best Western no matter where we travel. We know we are going to get the best service, best pricing, and best rest for our money. Takes the guess work about of our overnights. We know where we are going to stay.
Will never stay there again....I was driving a pickup pulling a trailer and just north of the hotel it had a couple of places I could park my pickup and trailer....They said I could NOT park there because it was a spot for the managers car....so I had to park across the street and us being a 70 year old couple we had to pack our two dogs and some belongings across a 4 lane fairly busy main street...6am the next morning there was 15 to 20 parking spots that the manager could have parked his car....so evidently they do not value the customer....just the manager.....
I've made several trips to the Palouse for photography and always stay at the Best Western Wheatland Inn. Rooms are comfortable, coffee is great, breakfast is convenient and good enough. Well located in the Palouse region for photographic outings.
This is a nice motel with indoor pool and hot tub. Rooms are spacious and clean with big tv, coffee machine, microwave and refrigerator. Then they have a good hot and cold breakfast selection. Which includes hot eggs, meat, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy and waffles. Then bagels, and a whole bunch of other cold breakfast items.
Nice clean hotel in small rural farm town with local shops and restaurants safe walking distance. Parking was limited for larger vehicles and grocery store and coffee drive thru across street. Histrical framed pics line the hallway and comfortable home like feel. Spacious well furnished room with good temperature control. Overall nice stay.
Our room was spotless, and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows good. It was super quiet. There was a mini fridge and microwave. We were on the ground floor and our window looked out over the back grassy area, you can open the window a little for fresh air. There was a pool area that looked very clean. The breakfast included was good, full breakfast with eggs, canadian bacon and biscuits and gravy. There was some fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, juice, baked goods and a waffle maker. The dining area was also very clean and orderly. Great place and we would stay again while passing through the Palouse.
The property was spotless clean with comfortable beds, good coffee and a tasty breakfast. The beauty of the Palouse was showcased through art throughout. Best of all, our granddaughter especially enjoyed the pool, which was clean and safe without any debris.
The facility was clean, updated, and overall pleasant. The staff went above and beyond and was better than any I've experienced in a hotel in a long time. The pool was clean and the breakfast well-stocked. Coffee and creamer available in the lobby at all times was very appreciated, and the cookies in the evening was thoughtful. This location and its staff are wonderful.
Very nice hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and worked great. Very pet friendly with nice area to walk dogs and they even had a treat bag for my dog. Would definitely recommend!!
We were very impressed with the cleanliness and care this hotel has had. It is a well maintained property. There was a grassy area for our dogs. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was better than most other hotels we've stayed at.
Great hotel with everything you need close by. Visiting family for Holidays. Very nice stay. Great Breakfast choices. Nice large rooms with excellent beds. Close to Pullman and Moscow Idaho for any additional shopping needs.
Friendly people, excellent location, comfortable beds & spacious room. Large breakfast room with excellent choices. Nice pool and hot tub area, Staff were very helpful with information about local sights and attractions.
I love the Wheatland Inn! The folks are all so friendly and helpful at the front desk. The rooms are super clean and quiet, and terrific temp control in each room. There's a computer room available, along with a small pool and hot tub, and adjacent parking. A wonderul breakfast is served every morning. I've stayed here several times while visiting relatives, and you just cannot go wrong at this place!
I recently stayed here for three nights, and was impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness. The breakfast was exceptionally good, with new options added daily. Overall I have no complaints with my stay, which might be a first for me!
This was a great stay! Very friendly staff, food that filled my belly and 24/7 coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Colfax is a small town filled with friendly people, walking distance to everything (pretty much). Best Western Wheatland had great service, a clean room, breakfast and more. The pool and hot tub were kept clean and at perfect temperature. It is 1 hour from Spokane Airport, 25 minutes from WSU and 30 minutes from UOIdaho. I would definitely stay again.
The breakfast is very plentiful. They have cereal, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles every day with a rotating daily hot dish. All the food was really yummy. The internet worked well for our online business. The hot tub was nice, we didn't use the pool. They have a fitness center. The staff are friendly and helpful. The landscaping is nice. Everything is within walking distance: restaurants, groceries, espresso, shopping, park, library, and the school. Golf is just down the street. We enjoyed ourselves.
This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this hotel. Both times were excellent. The bed was comfortable, room spacious and clean, nicely decorated, breakfast decent and staff nice. We've stayed at many hotels/motels and this is one of the best for the money.
I arrived early and thought I would see if it was possible to check in early. The front desk lady said my room was ready and that would not be a problem. I checked in and found that my room was made up very clean and in excellent condition. Every member of the staff that I encountered were very professional and extremely pleasant. I spoke with members of the house keeping staff, I spoke with one of the maintenance workers, I spoke with several ladies at the front desk, and the hostess for the breakfast room. Every person that I spoke with was willing to go above and beyond for anything that may be needed. My check in and check out were both quick and easy. The breakfast Hostess did an excellent job and was very busy the entire time making sure all of the guest needs were taken care of. This is an outstanding team of people doing an excellent job in the hospitality business. If I am ever back in the area I will definitely stay there again.
The Wheatland is someplace I have stayed 15 nights over the last 4 years. It is a clean hotel with a passable, if spartan, breakfast. The coffee is predictable horrible, but there are a couple of coffee shops with8n walking distance. The grocery store across the street is incredible for a small rural town.
Our stay at the Best Western Wheatland Inn in Colfax, WA. was remarkable. The hotel staff was very friendly, and Rita was a gem. We called before we arrived and Rita answered the phone. We were lost out in the countryside and our GPS on the phone kept going in and out. Rita got a map and found out where we were and gave us directions to the hotel. When we arrived Rita greeted us with warm cookies and a friendly smile. She gave us a packet with things to see in the Colfax area, and told us what to see when we walked through town. The room was clean, and very comfortable. They served a full breakfast and even had strawberries to go on the waffle. The dining area was clean with lots of food choices. The hot tub was good sized and nice and hot the way I like it. We even stayed an extra night because of the atmosphere. It is a must stay if you are traveling anywhere near Colfax, WA.
I stayed here in hopes of not being completely ripped off while attending a graduation. Even though it was considerably less than staying near the college graduation they still wanted $151 per night. I just spent 2 weeks at a 4 star hotel in Atlanta, GA and it was less than $120 a night there. Despite all that I get into a very comfortable bed and fall asleep only to be woken up 3 hours later by the next room over talking. Not yelling, just talking and I could hear the conversation as if they were sitting on the bed with me. The most comfortable bed is not enough to make up for paper thin walls. So I guess, stay here if you have to but I will never be back.
The staff were friendly, the room and bed were comfortable, and the hotel is in a great location if you want to take photos of the beautiful surrounding areas! I was able to see the Palouse Scenic Byway, Steptoe Butte State Park, and the Palouse Falls, all within driving distance of this hotel.
Highly recommend this hotel! Immaculate room and many extra touches to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Even special treats and ball, and available blanket for our dog. The breakfast buffet was extensive including hot food and fresh fruit even blueberries. The indoor pool looked inviting but we were there to see the nearby Palouse. This hotel is a keeper!
The staff at this establishment was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond the task at hand. I would recommend anyone traveling to the area to stay here. The breakfast alone is worth the stay. The rooms were clean. The common area was clean. This despite there being a junior high basketball tournament in town during my stay.
This BW inn should be rated as BW Plus. For photographers interested in Palouse area, this is the best place to stay. Once you ever stayed here, you will not be disappointed. I usually will visit amazing Palouse area for a couple days each year, and this BW inn is my favorite to stay.
We spent almost 2 weeks at this hotel in November, 2021 when my husband had knee surgery. The hopital provided discount coupons due to the medical treatment. I was told that even though they normally did not allow the reduced rate during "special times" they would honor the amount due to the duration of our stay. I thanked them and said that I would have changed hotels if that were not the case since the "special rate" was $100 per night more than the coupon. When it came time to check out, the manager happened to be behind the desk. She refused to honor the reduced rate. I was absolutely LIED TO. I paid the bill but am still fuming and will clearly find another place to stay when my husband goes back for the other knee surgery. Even the Best Western web site showed the coupion rate, but this manager apparently overrode it. Do not trust this INCOMPETENT person. This hotel should do the right thing and refund the extra money they charged above the quoted rate. They have not done so.
We had a reservation but due to illness, had to cancel. Our reservations were cancelled (digitally and verbally over the phone) with plenty of notice, yet the hotel is refusing to refund our money. This place is a scam. Do not reserve a room here, they will take your money and not look back! They get 0/5!!! Rude on the phone, no understanding when discussing illness, and belligerent when pointing out the 3 days notice of cancellation.
Colfax may be a small community, but it's near both Pullman, WA (Washington University-GO COUGS!!!!) & Moscow, ID (University of Idaho-GO VANDALS!!!). The rooms are clean & well designed, the staff answers any/all inquiries in a timely fashion.
Washington requires mask wearing in public areas. The staff we observed didn't wear masks, including the desk clerk. When questioned, the manager emailed “as to the Governor's mandate. We've left that decision up to each individual.” Mandates are not optional. It's a state requirement. Don't understand how Best Western supports this.
We only spent one night. Our experience was very good. The room was clean and up to date. The staff was friendly and most complied with the state's mask mandate. Breakfast was above average with many nutritious offerings.
Great location in downtown Colfax, WA. Accessible via walking to grocery, restaurants, shopping. Birthplace of Robert Osborne, American film historian, primary host of Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel.
I *want* to give a lower rating, but four stars is fair for how most people will perceive this hotel. The thing that annoys me is the religious note that was in the room (and presumably in all rooms). While it was seemingly pretty well-intentioned, Christianity has become representative of hate toward a lot of people, and it makes me uncomfortable now because it is very unwelcoming to me. Again, not their intent, I realize. I put this in the survey response, though, and received this response: "We recognize not everyone has the same beliefs or world view. The owner of our property simply wants to convey a sincere blessing upon all who stay with us. Each guest is welcome to take it or leave it. He would strongly disagree with your sentiment that the Gospel message is one of hate, but that is your prerogative to hold that belief. He just believes in sharing the love of Christ to all, as it is written, [1Co 9:23 ESV] 23 'I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.'" Clearly, they missed the point. I was not saying it is a message of hate, I was saying it has become a message of hate due to how people use it now. Just not very welcoming to me, is all. All that said, it was a decent stay, and the staff was friendly. The only other negative was a strong smell that made me a bit sick in the room when I got there. The room was clean, though, the internet was decent, and if you're wanting to stay in Colfax, this is a good location. Here are my usual specific details: Comparison to others in chain: Better Internet: Decent Breakfast: Tried to find something, didn't. Slightly worse options than normal. Room: Nice remodel Cleanliness: Almost perfectly Bed: Angled? It was like it wasn't level. Not great. Bedding: Standard Shower: Low pressure, short curtain, cheap towels Hard water: Very hard water HVAC: Good Location: Fine Noise: Fridge and other noise, not too bad Staff: Good Cost/Value: Decent, cheapest of the trip
The only complaint I have was during check-in. One of the computer terminals was having a difficult time with my credit card. Called my financial institution and it was something on the hotel side. So we changed to the other computer terminal and it worked. Otherwise, this was a great hotel and totally recommend. Staff had an outstanding customer service and breakfast was delicious.
The room was clean and well done. Nice staff and we were here for just 1 night but was a good rate and was not noisy. The area was good and could walk around outside & not feel afraid. Breakfast was good for what motels serve.
This hotel in a small town constantly outperforms most places in the BW family. It shows, too, because of high usage. Lovely clean, quiet rooms; well-stocked breakfast room, good room controls for heat/air, Excellent (high-performing jets) in the hot tub - many of us drive up to 5-6 hours to get here, so I appreciate a soak before bed. I always look forward to pulling in to this BW.
Surprisingly very well kept, great amenities. Amazingly comfortable beds in nice rooms, and a fun pool and workout room. Despite covid restrictions, breakfast was available and good as well. Service was helpful throughout the stay.
I have stayed here on multiple occasions over the past 6 years while my kids have been attending WSU. This location is consistently worth the 15 min drive to campus. The property is always very clean, rooms are comfortable, breakfast setup is great (even did a nice job of making a modified breakfast available during Covid restrictions), and staff is always very friendly and accommodating.
This place is awesome. It's all about the Palouse. All the art work in the room and building from the Palouse. Clean quiet rooms. Big bathrooms. Great breakfast. Great people. The management at the best western Puyallup Best western should visit the hotel so they can see what Hotels should be like.
The room was extremely clean and loved the wheat art work on the walls. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and well maintained. Noise was minimal and loved the white noise box in the room to reduce hall noise. Thank you for a friendly, comfortable, safe, and clean stay!!
Needed somewhere to stay close to Whitman hospital and this checked all the boxes. It was a comfortable, lovely place to stay, even just for one night. Breakfast was tasty and everything was clean and well kept.
Love Best Western. This location did not disappoint. Front office and housekeeping staff were respectful and polite. Room was very clean. Despite Covid, they did serve a full breakfast which was amazing. We stayed for 5 days for the WSU Welcome Week.
The Best Western Wheatland Inn was a nice property to stay at in Colfax. It's not far to Pullman from here. The property exceeded our expectations, was very clean and new looking. The included breakfast was good, internet worked well, there was a pool/hot tub, and fitness facility. Parking at night may be a challenge, especially when you check in late, but at the time of our stay, the restaurant across the street was vacant so we were told that we could park there. We had no issues with that.
Great place to sleep and eat. Clean and very comfortable. The check in staff was very friendly and took only moments. I just finished a long trip of 6 hours to take my daughter to WSU and was exhausted. AC was awesome due to heat and moving her all day.
Good price for the value, Outside of Pullman, but nice drive and all hotels in Pullman were full, overpriced and very expensive...Price gouging during students return to WSU. Nice, clean comfortable room.
The staff is excellent. The hotel is a little dated but very clean and comfortable. The rooms are quieter than the average. The location is good. Overall a good stay and this is the first place in a long time that is back to putting out cookies in the evening. Nice touch.
Great hotel for a business trip. Rooms are Clean as is the rest of the Hotel. On business trips I look for "No Surprises". Internet was very good - which is very important on business trips. Staff is very frieldly and helpful.
If you want to have fastest access to the heart of the Palouse area, consider this well-run hotel. I've been staying there for several years as a base for my Explore the Palouse photography workshops, I've had nothing but great experiences, including when I traveled there alone for pleasure. The staff and amenities are the best in Colfax. (This is my personal, objective and unsolicited opinion. I am in no way compensated for any of my TA reviews.)
The staff was helpful and friendly. The have the best breakfast for a hotel without a gourmet kitchen. The rooms and hallways are clean enough that my dog was not sniffing around all over the room. Everything was well maintained.
We had a great stay at this hotel. Room was nice and big and very well maintained and updated Breakfast was very good. Nice daily theme and variety depending on your mood. Nice to see a clean hot breakfast that was still available at 10am.
Friendly fast check in, friendly, assisted with getting my stay credited to my account, room was like brand new, very clean, air conditioner worked very well, was 112 outside! Breakfast was delish, vanilla creamer for coffee was nice touch.
Other then charging me 9 dollars more the second night when told it was the same for both nights i enjoyed my stay. The pricing was hight to begin with at 195 dollars a night then giving me a bump of 9 dollors the second day.
I spent a couple of nights here and the hotel is really nice. The staff were nice and friendly, the rooms modern and clean, very comfortable beds, internet, and right on the main drag (for Colfax). They offered a hot breakfast for free but I was up and out before they started serving (6AM). The only reason I dinged them one star is this: Their room doors automatically shut when someone enters or leaves and they slam really loud. This happens all day and night. A simple fix for them-hope they consider. Overall, a great hotel and a good price.
The only hotel in the Colfax / Steptoe Butte area, with Pullman being the other option. Price is very high for what you are getting (in my case $184 per night!!!!), I assume due to no competition. Room was ok, standard hotel room. Breakfast was take out processed junk food (reheated fried potatoes, sausage, biscuit, gravy), and no options with any nutritional value beyond fat, starch, and salt. Colfax basically has no restaurants so we purchased food at the local grocery store instead. But we were there photography so it was ok to suffer through it and get some good images :-)
My family and I stayed here a couple nights, and everyone there were very nice and accommodating. They had coffee available in the lobby and breakfast to go, which is always great! I noticed things there I haven't seen other hotels provide, like q-tips, shower cap and a little sewing kit. The pool area was clean and only one family at a time could go in the pool which was nice. It was a little drive to Pullman if you have to drive back and forth, but not that bad. Don't recommend the drive at night though, it's very dark out there.
Facility is cleaner than clean! Staff is polite and friendly. Quiet. Beds great! Would stay again. Grocery across street. Gas stations near by. Clean clean clean. Lovely place. Lobby fireplace! Price more reasonable than Pullman or Clarkston. Great value.
Excellent customer service. Friendly staff. Beautiful room. Swimming pool, laundry facilities, fitness room. Next to the River. Quiet, close to amenities. Was given an upgrade which was very kind. Becky has top notch customer service skills. All the employees I interacted with were fantastic.
This location was a very pleasant surprise. The friendly and helpful staff accompanied by the very immaculate rooms and amenities has now made this a new favorite stop, not only for business but as a getaway for weekend trips and sightseeing around the Palouse area.
Unfortunately, the days of this hotel being a fantastic hotel are over. The old managers, Crystal and Brian, left quite a while ago and the owner of this hotel put an absolute idiot named LaDina in charge. She has the IQ of a donut and upset so many of my clients, as I have run groups there for years, and have never had a problem until she became the manager. And the group manager named Caleb, is the worst person I've ever had to deal with in all the years that I've run travel workshops. I told the owner about all of this, and he could care less. It's a shame because this hotel was a fantastic hotel until these two started running it and ruining it. I will never stay there again.... never recommended anybody to stay there and I feel sorry for the staff that has to put up with them. Many members of the staff told me themselves how terrible it is now, with these two people running things. and of course, the owner could care less. The town of Pullman has so many great hotels and that is where everyone coming to the Palouse should stay. This best Western Plus in Colfax is in the toilet now which is such a shame.
From the first time I phoned to inquire, I was pleased with the Wheatland Inn. Stephanie was the first staff member I spoke with and she was on top of all my inquiries. Honestly, we have not ever seen such an incredible staff, all working together, in sync, during a national pandemic. This place is exceptionally clean and the staff are devoted to the guests.
Friendly, professional, clean! We have stayed in a lot of hotels in that area and this is by far one of the best, we were very happy and will return. Every detail was in order. Beds were comfortable, furniture was comfortable
The place is usually quiet and clean. The walls are thin, so noisy folks will be heard. It's also let friendly, so if you have allergies, this might not be the place for you. Breakfast is good. All equipment works great and rooms are clean.
I travel for business quite a bit, and find that small towns usually have pretty basic lodging options. While doing business in Colfax, WA (pop. 2,000) I opted to stay at the BW Wheatland Inn, and was pleasantly surprised. This was my first time staying in the area, and at this hotel. The facility was clean and modern, with a warm décor. The staff was friendly, helpful, and kind. They had the pool and hot tub open, as well as their fitness room. Breakfast was brownbag to-go due to COVID. They gave me a form to fill out the night before, and got a generous breakfast burrito, a muffin, mandarin oranges, orange juice, coffee, and a breakfast bar all ready for me in the morning. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a very nice granite countertop, and the shower was robust. The décor was warm and pleasant, and a comfortable desk/workspace. But the coup de taut for me was... the Internet! I have stayed at Hilton and Marriott hotels in large metropolitan areas with absolutely horrid internet. One place offered upgrade speeds for $7/night to get 5MB. What an upgrade :∙| I measured 100Mb downloads here at BW Wheatland Inn, which made my work time in my room very pleasant and productive. I will always stay here when traveling through the Colfax/Pullman/Moscow area. The Best Western Wheatland Inn hit all of my checkboxes that I look for, and look forward to my next trip through town.
When I get here it's Express check in they know my she knows my breakfast order she knows that I'm going to check into the pool she knows my children my children go up and greet her she has a cookies snacks for them the coffee is always hot the greeting is just so warm I really truly feel like home I feel welcomed
Asked for 1st floor/ given. Really enjoyed boxed breakfast!. Close to car .Restfull, Did lots of business while in town. Husband who had surgery got the rest he needed while I ran around town. Will use this Best Western again!
Fantastic place and excellent value for the dollar. Everything was there as advertised. Staff went above and beyond expectations. Quick hassle free check in and check out. Breakfast was ready to go as promised at selected time which was imperitive as we had to be at our ultimate destination at a specified time.
We have been stopping at the Wheatland for over 15 years. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are good size and always clean. The grab and go breakfast is very good and has variety. There are still cookies in the evening( wrapped). The Inn is convenient to the colleges in Pullman and Moscow, but in a quieter setting
Not only is this hotel delightful, the staff is wonderful. I stayed here with my dog for one night, and without for 2 others while he was at WSU's teaching vet hospital for surgery. The staff were great, the room was fantastic, and the dog walking area was perfect. This was a lovely place to stay, and I've already put in a reservation for my next trip out with the dog for the WSU teaching vet hospital. Rita who checked me in was particularly helpful!!!
After a 5 hour drive to visit our family, it was nice to see the Wheatland Inn sign. We have stay there many times through the years. My mom is 93, she lives with my sister. Every visit is special! Wheatland is what we need because our family has grown beyond staying at my sisters house.
My wife and I stayed here three nights during a photography trip we made to tour this wonderful farming region. The hotel personnel were all courteous and informative during our stay. Each evening we signed up as to what we wanted in our grab and go bag they had for us in the morning. It changed each day. We would get the bag and take it up to our room for breakfast during the pandemic. Very nice. Our room was nice and roomy and the bathroom worked just fine. No complaints here. If we ever return, we will definitely stay here. It has obviously been here for awhile but the management has kept it up well.
Very charming, comfortable, and clean hotel accommodations. Colfax is a very small town! A gem amongst the golden wheat fields of the Palouse! Very central and convenient to many areas of interest! Steptoe Butte State Park, WSU in Pullman, and the Palouse Falls State park. A Photographer's dream area! Staff was very friendly and the hotel was top notch in cleanliness and amenities. Very comfortable stay.
We would highly recommend this hotel. The staff and facilities were excellent. The hotel is clean and well kept up. The pool area was clean and neat. All of the staff were friendly and went out of their way to accomadate what ever you needed.
I just wanted to thank the staff of this hotel. They are like a family and go far and beyond to make you feel at home. Especially now with all these new rules. What's a hotel? It is just a box on the ground, but these wonderful people made such a difference in my experience. We stay a lot in hotel around the state and i thought they would be all the same. Yet this one have become my favorite from now on. Thank you for everything!!!
We had a fantastic stay at the Best Western Wheatland Inn. The staff were wonderful and made us feel that we at our home away from home. We had a king size bed and the room was spacious with a nice mini-refrigerator and micro wave. The room was very clean and the house keeping staff were a blessing to deal with. Rita at the front desk made our stay even better. She was very friendly and super knowledgeable of the area. I can't say enough how impressed we were with this facility. We will stay there again if we are in the area and they have rooms available.
The Best Western Wheatland Inn in Colfax, Washington is a lovely place to lay your head. The hotel is well-kept. The rooms are in good repair. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast was impacted by COVID-19 but they still tried to supply a breakfast. The front desk was kind. It was a lovely one night stay.
Great central location for photography of the Plouse. Friendly helpful staff at front desk. Bag breakfast due to covid-19 was just OK, not great. Did not use maid service as a precaution due to covid-19. Overall very good. Not to many options in this area. One night could hear rude neighbor thru the walls.
I'm yet another photographer who had an excellent experience at the BW Wheatland. I usually stay in Pullman for these trips, but from now on this is the place for me. Check-in was smooth and the very friendly young lady behind the counter was so helpful with information about the area and the hotel. Everything was functioning as normal save for the breakfast which was acquired by filling out a sheet and picking it up at the appointed time the next morning. I found this hotel extremely clean, decorated well, comfortable and very quiet. I requested and was given a top (2nd floor) room facing the back away from 195 and it was peaceful. The railroad tracks out back had no trains. Rosauer's market across the street is huge and has everything you could want, and 165 Brew is a great drive-through coffee place in downtown Colfax. Overall it really felt like a friendly place I could call home as I kept my crazy hours shooting pictures of this beautiful part of inland Northwest and I give it my highest recommendation to any prospective traveler here. I will most definitely be back.
Spent a weekend taking pictures throughout the Palouse. Colfax is a perfectly centralized hotel. The front desk and housekeeping staff were all really friendly. I was traveling with my pug and she got some loving from the staff! My room was large with a fridge and microwave. Bathroom was a good size with a tub/shower combo. Everything was clean. With COVID-19 the hotel provided a bagged breakfast. I was traveling solo and found this hotel safe which is always my top priority. There's a grocery store with a deli and bakery right across the street which was handy to get picnic goods. Next time I'm in the area I will book at the Nest Western Wheatland Inn.
The Wheatland Inn is about 20 min from WSU and the perfect combination of proximity, comfortable amenities and an affordable value. The staff are pleasant and the rooms have comfortable beds, a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, tv, free WiFi, strong running water, a community pool and is just an all-around nice place to rest overnight before picking up your student the next day.
This was overall a great hotel. The beds were comfortable, the showers were great which is unusual for a hotel, and the location in the small town it's in was easy to access and right across the street from a grocery store and close to restaurants and gas and highways to other places. The only issue we had was there were Christian Bible verses as artwork in the hotel, and we aren't Christian, and not everyone is. I didn't think that was appropriate for the public at large.
SOOO incredibly helpful! I had to check-in early due to a snowstorm and they were so pleasant, helpful, and considerate of my sleep needs (I was in between two night shifts). I cannot thank them enough for the kind treatment. The hotel was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, WiFi was excellent. It was a great stay and I'd be glad to stay again!
We tend to stay at the Wheatland Inn when travelling to see our daughter who attends WSU in Pullman. We like the quietness of the location, pleasant staff, great amenities and that pets are all allowed with a great "pet space" in the back of the hotel.
when i booked with the 1-800 # i was told the pool was 24hrs..when we arrived the front desk lady said it closed at 10. that gave us 20mins. I would not have stayed there if i had known that. at check in the clerk was NOT friendly AT ALL. she slapped the paper on the counter didn't even tell me what i was signing for. as a matter of fact didn't even greet me. i asked her out of curiosity to know if she even knew. she pretty much tossed the keys on the counter. didnt direct me where to go or park. i had to ask. i work at a hotel desk and know the ropes. might want to train her a little more kn customer service! however the check out lady was extremely friendly and smiley. she loaned me her own phone charger and i really appreciated that by the way. breakfast wasn't very good. might be because we hit it towards the end. the place seemed cleaned.. but a little out dated.
I love the new updates to this hotel. They have always been such a gracious and warm place to stay, but with the updates, they in my mind rise to an exceptional property for my needs. Their breakfast goes far beyond a standard hotel and their staff were always anticipating my needs and the needs of the guests around me. Best Value and Comfort level by far for a stay in the Colfax/Pullman area. Will always make this my #1 stop
The room was spacious with a helpful staff to tell us about possible restaurants in the area. I was impressed that less paper was used and wasted with the breakfast food. As I remember, the sound of the heater was a bit noisy when trying to sleep. Other than that, everything was fine.
Our family came to Colfax for my brothers wedding and stayed at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. I was very impressed at the cleanliness of this hotel. If I ever came crack to Colfax I would stay here again.
This was convenient for seeing the nearby Palouse area. Reception was helpful and we were able to get an extra night due to circumstances. Room was comfortable and nicely arranged. Fresh oatmeal was available each morning and blueberries to go with it. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby all day. They recommended a new restaurant across the street which was convenient. There was also a grocery store nearby. Nice location and good parking.
Met all my expectations, very clean and comfortable. Staff very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my time there. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. I would stay there again if I am in that area. Yeah!
This hotel is really excellent. Very clean, great employees, wonderful breakfast. Extremely comfortable . From the management (LaDina and Alison), the front desk (Rita and Stephanie), housekeeping (Becky) and breakfast (Rachel) we were very well taken care of. Thanks to all of them for making our stay so enjoyable. I'm sorry if I left anyone out, these were the names I remember. The property is very attractive and well taken care of.
Quiet and cozy environment. The staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs. When i am in Pullman i stay as Best western Wheatland Inn. Hotel is very clean and amenities were great. I enjoyed my stay always.
If you visit the Palouse Hills, the Best Western Wheatland Inn is the place to stay. We spent 2 nights at this comfortable hotel. The room was very clean with a small refrigerator and microwave. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. There is a grocery store across the street from the hotel. This is a plus for photographers, since all restaurants close at 9 PM.
Went to Colfax so I could "shoot the Palouse". The hotel was ready for us photographers with all the places to go to photograph. Very comfortable hotel with cookies and coffee at 5 PM. A number of restaurants are within walking distance down the street.
So I knew the Palouse area in which is hotel is located is popular with photographers (and it's what brought my sister and I here as well), but I didn't realize how popular! The first thing I noticed when I walked in to check in was the giant "Welcome Photographers" sign in the lobby. I thought there was a convention going on but nope - they just like photographers! Upon arrival, I was given a detailed map of Palouse photography locations which immensely helped me in getting some of the shots I wanted in the limited time I had here. I was informed of other places I didn't even know about (and I do my research!) and left the area with awesome photos. Apparently, we visited at low-ish season - the peak season is around May and we were here in July, though I loved the results of my photos as the fields were green, some were being harvested, and the mustard and canola were in full bloom. All of the photos on the walls are from the local area, so you can use it as inspiration. They also have a slide show playing on the TVs at breakfast so you can find inspiration there too. The room was great, we used the laundry facilities (don't overfill the washer, as the water doesn't get too high - but the front desk warned us ahead of time so we didn't waste quarters). Fitness center was adequate and breakfast was your standard hotel fare. Really enjoyed my stay here and felt very welcome!
Staff was wonderful. Hotel was clean and welcoming. It is close location to everything needed, grocery store, restaurants,, etc. Pool and hot tub were perfect in temperature and minimal chlorine smell!
The friendly staff, spacious room, hotel design and decor, exercise room & pool, self-service laundry, location and breakfast buffet combined to make this the best place to stay during our six-day visit to Colfax and the Palouse! The staff gave attentive responses to questions about the hotel and city. Our room was spacious with a refrigerator, coffee maker and small dining area, perfect for take out pizza on Sunday when most of the local restaurants are closed. A cafe and supermarket are across the street and excellent coffee houses, restaurants, drug store (with fashionable clothing) and antique/used stores are a short walk away. We easily accessed the highways to the Palouse countryside and nearby towns. Loved staying here!
My wife had surgery today, and we needed a place to recuperate. Rita, the night manager, took it upon herself to make sure that we were super comfortable. After she helped us unload the car, she welcomed us with fresh baked cookies delivered to our door. Unbelievable! The hotel has recently been renovated and is beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Sincerely, Kelly
The Best Western in Colfax WA is one of the nicest places my wife and I frequent. Warm Cookies every evening are GREAT!! A wonderful atmosphere is always present. After a long drive to the Palouse, we appreciate the friendly greeting special support that photographers to the region may need. When traveling, it's the small things that make an establishment stand out - and this place understands what it takes.
I've stayed about 16 nights in Best Western Motels this year out of about 23 motel nights so far. this one is my favorite. One, it's in the Palouse, a really great place for photos. Two, it caters to photographers with early hours for breakfast and printed information on check in. Three, the most complete selection of breakfast items and a rotating variety. Four, a very friendly staff from the manager on down. My stay was a late booking because of unforeseen RV problem. They went out of their way to find me a room. There was a possibility I might have to change rooms mid-stay, but a cancellation occurred & they remembered me and gave me a single room for the whole stay. They were most considerate & pleasant.
Very clean, dog friendly and great breakfast. My wife thought the BW on the waffle was for Best Wife so I made a great hit with her. Staff very helpful. Enjoyed strolling around the town. Clean, quiet, and would gladly go back again.
This spot is very convenient to the Palouse sites. Very clean and comfortable room and beds.. Staff was so friendly and most helpful. Had breakfast with great choices available at 5:00 AM to accommodate the photographers. Had laundry facility. There is an indoor pool and hot tub. I was on a photography tour.
The staff is friendly and efficient. The property is well maintained. Rooms are clean and the bed comfy. The breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold items that are kept well stocked and fresh. The staff understands the rewards program and is proactive to ensure your reservations is handled properly and they make you aware of any special offers. I stay at a lot of Best Westerns and this one is my favorite. I will always stay here when in the area.
I got the last room that was available so I had no choice to pay the rate they told me, was more than I needed for solo person., its not their fault I waited to long to book but still thought should have gotten the same room as a single person would stay in
We can absolutely recommend this hotel. Everybody made us welcome. The rooms are really nice, the breakfast is wonderful and the best we had so far on our trip. There are warm cookies in the lobby and a wide variety of warm drinks such as coffee, tea, hot cider, hot chocolate available 24 hours. We will be back when we are in the area !
One wouldn't particularly think to just “vacation” in Colfax but I would go there just to stay in this hotel !! We have been staying here for many years, but they recently did an incredible remodel and upgrade: top notch! Classy, modern but still extremely comfortable and the fantastic staff and friendliness of the hotel didn't change. Bravo Best Western!! Job well done!
I want to start off by saying that my first stay at this location years ago set the stage. I've stayed at many Motels and the Best Western Wheatland Inn has been by far the best for politeness, cleanliness all around service and yes the breakfast. Keep up the good work and I will be seeing you soon for another good night's stay.
This was a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean, decor was pleasing , amenities were nice and the bed was comfy. All of that impressed me as sometimes accommodations aren't so great in a small town. But one thing impressed me even more - the friendly staff that really cared about customer service. Breakfast was fresh and hot and there were many food options. The dining area was clean and well maintained. I had to extend my stay for an extra night and the process was fast and efficient. Then after checking out i found out later that day my work project was extended and I had to check back in - again, a smooth, efficient process. The icing on the cake, they knew their computer system, understood the rewards process, looked up my account and made sure my stay was registered. Both check ins. With different people. They even told me about a recent rewards promotion and could see that I had already registered for it!Very pleased with this stay.
I recently had a meeting in Colfax and ended up staying at the Wheatland Inn. The check-in clerk was friendly and informative, and the newly remodeled rooms were absolutely gorgeous! Loved how the hotel used elements of the surrounding area in the design. The complimentary breakfast had tons of options (even some that were gluten free!) and provided an excellent start to my day. I highly recommend you stay at this hotel if you are in the Pullman area!
Hotels do silly things and I will keep a mental note. Only franchise in town so options are few. Clean, well done -- I'm just a sore loser. On the plus side I love the subtle Bible based hospitality presented to guests.
Newer Best Western prooerty with amenities and facilities you would expect. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Small pool and fitness center. Solid hot breakfast choices. Easy to find but on the edge of town. One downside, no restaurant nearby.
The quality of service and the property itself are more than worth the price paid. From the GM, front desk, breakfast attendant to the maintenance dept., all were very service oriented towards excellence. Definitely a hidden gem on the Palouse whether going to Pullman or Spokane, great stop!
Was attending a football game at WSU and needed a room. Everywhere near Pullman sells out months ahead of time and I lucked into a room here. Glad I did. The place is clean, the rooms are on the large side, the beds are comfortable, the amenities (vending machines and ice) are well maintained and full, the included breakfast was more than adequate and the staff was friendly and helpful. So, yes, this a great place to stay.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms and facilities were clean and well kept. The parking lot and lawn were well managed and clean. Good coffee and cookies at night. Had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone
I have literally NO complaints about this place. So clean and everyone is so nice. The breakfast was more than I had expected. Looking forward to staying again next year. Nice to know there is such a great place to stay in Colfax!
First trip to Colfax and the The Best Western did not disappoint. Well maintained and clean. Friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast was ok. It was easy access for us attending a wedding in Lacrosse. If you are not there in the early evening the parking lot fills up fast.
Probably the best of the "Best Westerns" I've stayed in, from Wenatchee, WA to San Diego. This was my first stay there. I spent the weekend at this hotel, and it was amazingly pleasant! Very clean and well-appointed room, with a quiet air-conditioner and very comfortable bed. There was a lovely bathroom with the latest toiletries (argon lotion and soap!). The staff was very courteous and helpful, and I, like other reviewers, will now stay here rather than driving on to Pullman. When I pulled my curtains back at 6:30 in the morning I found a doe and her two "teenagers" grazing just 100 feet or so from my window. A wonderful stay!
Very clean and comfortable room. Check in was fast and easy, had delicious warm cookies on the counter. Clerk was fantastic, wi-if was fast, pool was clean. Was t expecting much since the town is so small, but wound up being pleasantly surprised and so extremely thankful for air conditioning!
We stay at Best Westerns whenever we can and usually manage 10-15 nights per year. As we were traveling through this area, we were pleasantly surprised to find a Best Western in Colfax which isn't a very large town. We didn't call ahead. We simply walked up to the front desk where we were warmly greeted by Sarah at the front desk. We had occasion to also talk to the other lady. Both were extremely pleasant, courteous while remaining professional and taking care of business quickly. It isn't often that one is greeted so warmly when checking in. We were given keys to our room and were told about the full breakfast that would be available in the morning. Sarah also made it a point to tell us that if we needed anything at any hour to please let them know as someone would be available all night. The room was great. The bed comfortable with extra pillows. The bathroom was as spacious as one can expect with ample supplies and good towels. Most importantly for us, the internet was very fast. This was important to us as we had been on the road for the previous 4 days in areas where there was no internet or cell service so we had some things to catch up on. The TV seemed to have plenty of channels however we had some other things to do so we didn't watch it. The breakfast was as good as one can expect. I had no problem with it and besides there were plenty of options. I love this hotel and only wish it would be in an area I would frequent more often. Highly recommended!! Five stars and more if I could!
I recently spent a night here and was certainly pleased with all aspects of my stay. This property definitely has a very comfortable and homey feeling; I'd recommend it to travelers who happen to be in this scenic part of the state. (While Colfax is a small town, it's only about 15 minutes from the larger communities of Pullman, Washington and Moscow, Idaho.) My room was nicely decorated and well-equipped. (The in-room refrigerator was much larger than those I've experienced in most hotels.) The breakfast contained a good variety of hot and cold items. While there is no restaurant on the immediate premises, there are places to eat within walking distance; additionally, there is a supermarket just across the street. All employees were very friendly and helpful. If I ever find myself in the area again, I'd definitely choose this hotel!
Six of us visited the area to go to Steptoe Butte and Palouse Falls state parks to take pictures. We were not sure how to get there and the staffs kindly explained and used a map to show how to get there. They patiently explained and told us what to be careful of such as deers on the road and snakes. They are great ambassadors to promote the area. The place has a friendly and homely feeling to it. The room is spacious and clean. The wifi is fast and it is a walking distance away from a supermarket and a lot of restaurants. Their hot breakfast has good selections and will keep people fully fed and ready to start the day. Free coffees are provided in the lobby and we met a Korean war veteran that told us they let him come and drink coffee, read newspaper, etc. I am sure a lot of people agree that a business that takes care of the veteran should be commended!
Recently, I stayed for over a week at the Wheatland Inn and would have stayed longer, but they were booked the entire following week. I came to join one of Jack Lien's photo groups in mid-June which is primetime for photographing the Palouse so rooms were at a premium. I could not have picked a better place to stay and it became clear early on why Jack recommended the place (it wasn't just for the cookies). Not only was it clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient, but the room rate was very reasonable especially with the slight discount members of the Jack's photo tour received. The staff were all so friendly. I was always greeted with a hearty “good morning” or “hello” by everyone. Breakfast was excellent, plentiful and always available to accommodate us crazy photographers who sometimes needed to get on the road in the very early hours in order to catch the best light. The Wheatland caters to photographers who come to the Palouse from all over the world. They go out of their way to see that their needs are met, going so far as to provide a packet of maps and other information of some of the most photogenic spots in the Palouse. After a long and exhausting day of shooting, we could at least look forward to the fresh baked cookies available in the lobby to recharge our batteries every afternoon. They even have a monitor set up in the breakfast room which loops past photographers' best images of the Palouse in order to inspire the next group coming through. All in all, it was a great place to stay, and hopefully, I will return one day. I highly recommend the Wheatland Inn in Colfax.
We've stayed in this hotel the past two years for their Halloween Murder Mystery event and it is a ton of fun and the hotel is a perfect setting, super clean, well maintained in all ways and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is good and the hotel is quiet and comfortable. You really could not ask for a better hotel and Caleb's hospitality with the Murder Mystery event is one of our favorite events of the year.
The Wheatland Inn is a good hotel in the heart of the Palouse area of Washington State. The hotel is very clean, nicely appointed, with a large bedroom and a bathroom including a microwave and larger refrigerator. Room amenities included a large desk and sitting chair - perfect for a 5-day stay while visiting and photographing the area. The staff does a great job of keeping the hotel going...great housekeeping, fine breakfast in the morning (but no lattes), free parking. Would be happy to stay with them again. (P.S. The hotel also has an indoor heated pool.)
We were only able to stay one night because of 2 college graduations going on the same weekend, but we would've loved to stay two. It's the ideal spot for sightseeing in the Palouse. No wonder, most photography workshop leaders choose this hotel for their attendees to stay. The staff understands the needs of the local folks and the desires of photographers who come to view this amazing area. The free breakfast, while nothing spectacular was sufficient. But one can peruse several coffee table books of the area and use them for reference material as they plan their days.
Really like the hotel Rita was totally awesome helped us out immensely! Thank you Rita. Totally like the breakfast they had a great selection for breakfast pillows are the s*** pillows are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on in my location beds are super comfy rooms are super clean that help is pretty nice around here
Clean quiet hotel very good breakfast including waffles and eggs and very nice staff.Colfax is very convenient for touring the Palouse area which is so beautiful!Make sure you make the trip to Steptoe Butte Amazing!!
This is the second time I have stayed here while photographing in the area. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are clean, the bed comfortable, the bathrooms good and the breakfast was good and well-attended to.
Arrived in the evening and were checked in by Alli. She was top-notch - professional and personable. Great sense of humor. Made sure we had everything we needed. The next morning we have a full breakfast, complete with real plates and flatware! That was a nice touch. Room was very clean, quiet. Free wi-fi. Had everything we needed! At checkout we were greeted again by Alli and the Asst GM LaDina Arneson. Both were courteous, professional and just wonderful people that made you feel welcome and appreciated. Once couldn't ask for a better experience. Seamless. Just super people! Small town, small hotel, but nothing small about how great this place was. Drop by, they will treat you right!
Was just dead beat when we arrived for some reason , got checked in and room was comfortable & reasonably quiet - A/C had a fan on setting so it covered up the outside noise pretty well - The only problem came when the wife made coffee in the morning , there was a coffee pod in the pot , so the room cleaner didn't clean terribly well...
We attended our grandsons graduation from college along with 5 other family members. The Best Western was a wonderful place to stay near Pullman. The price was half what we would have paid elsewhere. They had a great breakfast, pool and the friendliest staff we have met. Check in was orderly and fast—even though there were many other Cougar families checking in! We will stay here when we visit our youngest grandson who starts at WSU in the fall.
This small hotel in a small town gives small town friendly service as well as being very professional. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was hot and there was a nice selection of items. I would stay here again.
My daughter and Ioved our first night there the front staff lady was so super nice We loved the breakfast, lounges beverage area then came Saturday worker She never greeted us She looked sad At one point we thought she was racist opposite of the Friday night staff
My family came here for a family reunion in March and also had to visit WSU for experience weekend. (Easter weekend) Staff was super helpful and always very accommodating and has a pretty good pool for kids. Hotel was going through a remodel in their lobby and have to say no issues. Rooms were also clean and new beds were very comfortable. Our family has stayed here for years and they are just wonderful each time! Not to mention it's not too far from the WSU campus for those weekend visits! Thank you Caleb and staff! Until next time!
For Dad's Weekend to Mom's Weekend and more... if you need a place when visiting students at Washington State University, stay here. Only 15 minutes to Pullman. Good breakfast items. Quiet location. Loved having a pool and hot tub available. Very friendly staff at front desk.
My husand and I had a wonderful stay at the Wheatland hotel in Colfax WA. The staff was very accommodating and professional. From the monent we checked in to when we checked out. We normally do not sleep well when we are traveling. It was the best sleep we have had on any trips. We were told these are brand new beds. The breakfast was good and just not a continental breakfast. We would stay here again. Thank you for a great stay.
They went out of there way with service. They brought the luggage rack to the car, cleared the dirty breakfast dishes as we finished, and continually asked if everything was ok. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Fully recommend Wheatland Inn!!
The hotel is fine and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My challenge comes in the fact that I paid almost $260.00 for a single room, about $130.00 a night, in little Colfax Washington. The value for the price does not equal out.
The room was very clean, and the staff were very friendly. We had our 1 and 2 year old children with us and the staff helped us have a great stay. The breakfast was the usual buffet fare, but worked well for us. The staff bussed the tables frequently to ensure that every empty table was clean for rhe next guest coming to dine.
Very clean and well-maintained place to stay. Complimentary breakfast good for it's kind. Conveniently located. Staff very friendly and helpful. Caught them remodeling, and they made sure my room was away from the workspace. I'll be back!
Our workers were very pleased with your hotel. Breakfast was great and location was also great. This is our floor crew that works at Lower Granite Dam. They will be there again in 4 months and we will book this hotel again. Thanks
It's rare that I write a review for any product or service. The outcome must be either exceptionally good or horrendously bad. Which outcome did I experience at The Colfax Best Western? Well, it was exceptionally good! I had to leave early By 5:00am, and the young lady working that morning, Melissa, started the breakfast service over an hour early because she heard that a guest had an early exit the next morning. I casually mentioned this when I checked in, expected nothing, but was happily surprised to find out that she was willing to go the extra mile for just one guest. In addition to her excellent service the hotel is a great value, very clean, comfortable and, as previously mentioned, the service is above what you would expect.
Paper thin walls means that you will hear people talking in all adjacent rooms. Loud TV's late at night. It's like staying in a group Hostel but 10X the price. However, staff is friendly and breakfast is good. The lobby decor is nice.
The Best Western Wheatland Inn is one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed. I rarely have reason to stay away from home. However, we have had 2 deaths in our family in the past 17 months. We stayed at the Wheatland Inn on both occasions. As we have family in the Colfax/Garfield area, we will definitely be staying at the Wheatland in the future. Outstanding staff, great rooms, comfortable beds and wonderful breakfast! Love being able to make my own waffles! You can tell that the staff is all about the guest. One of the staff members even made a call to a local store as one of my kids had forgotten their swim trunks. Before we could even start down the hall to our room, a gentleman let us know the name of the store and their hours, stating that he checked and they had what we were looking for. You don't get that kind of courtesy just anywhere.
I stay here several times a year for business purposes. I usually don't choose Best Western because the quality of these hotels vary so dramatically. This one is great! Friendly staff, always clean and quiet. I've never had a bad experience and I'm picky! The only negative is the marginal workout equipment.
We attended an event at WSU and stayed at the BW Wheatland Inn in Colfax. Very nice place. Great staff!! The room was was very quiet. Breakfast was good. We left an item in the room when we checked out and the staff took care of it right away.
Not 1 complaint, everything was awesome. Breakfast could be better, but other than that, no complaints. The Room was very clean, beds were very comfortable, internet was excellent with no issues.Price could be lower to attract more people wanting to stay.
Great Stay, Room was excellent, Breakfast was great and wonderful staff. Anytime I needed something, somebody always tried to help me and find where I could get the services I needed. The cookies that were made every night were great also.
We stayed with our two large dogs, a Great Dane and a Golden Retriever. They were very welcoming and all the staff wanted to meet the dogs. They told us about a nearby city park where we could exercise the dogs. The property is clean and well maintained, nothing broken in the room. It's a good place to stay.
We where very supprized with the cleanliness of the hotel and our room. I looked for dirt and dust and could not find any. We booked a suite, that was at the end of the hall. Top floor and no-one on one side. It was quite and large.
I immensely enjoyed my recent stay at the Wheatland Inn! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, the rooms are clean and quiet, and the breakfast is absolutely top notch. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in the area!
We were in town visiting our daughter and to be honest, when we booked the reservation, our expectations were not very high. We figured that, small town, one Hotel, we can survive for the weekend. As soon as we came through the front door, we were greeted by the friendly staff. It was clean and inviting. My wife and I looked at each other and smiled. Check in was a breeze, and when we got to the room, again we were very pleased with everything. Large updated room, great amenities. If I had to change anything it would be to put up curtains in the dining room. We were swimming in the pool Sunday morning and felt like we were on display for the folks having breakfast. Highly recommended. Thanks for a Great weekend.
For $100 a night, it's hard to beat the Best Western Wheatland Inn. My expectation for $100 includes protein at breakfast; if none I'm not paying over $80. Wheatland Inn offers real eggs and sausage! The entire hotel is well kept and clean with spacious rooms. I do have a complaint, which is not the fault of the hotel. Local workers staying at the hotel fire up their diesel pickups around 5:30am and let them idle for which seams forever. So early mornings can be a bit noisy. Otherwise it's a nice stay.
Having recently retired, I decided it was time to travel more and indulge in photography. After deciding to roam the Palouse, a friend recommended the Best Western in Colfax. He said it was centrally located and comfortable. All the photographers stay there. Yes, yes they do! I saw a steady stream of cameras coming and going. It is a two story hotel on the north side of town. Easy to see and access. Not a large parking lot but the spaces were larger than I normally see. Fitting my full size pickup into a parking slot was not a problem. I don't use elevators but I don't recall seeing one if that is a concern. The room was large and clean. The first thing I do when getting to my room is to check for bedbugs and the bathroom. Clean! Then I unpack and relax. There is also an adequate amount of power outlets too. Nice when you're charging phones, camera batteries, and iPads. The WiFi had a strong signal and I connected easily. I also wanted to mention that I had a full 5 bar signal from Verizon. At night when everyone was in their rooms, the WiFi tends to slow down. I was able to switch to my Verizon hotspot and continue uploading photos. The bed was clean and comfortable. But then, I just retired from the Army so my standards of where I sleep are pretty low. My room faced the front/road and that might be the only downside. Like all retirees living the life, I enjoyed sitting at the window with a cup of coffee and watching life go by. But there are a lot of large trucks (18 wheelers) passing by. With the window open, it got noisy. With the window closed, you would still hear a low rumble. It really didn't bother me but if you're sensitive to that, ask for a room on the back side. There is a coffee machine in the room with Wolfgang Puck coffee packets. Trust me, the coffee downstairs in the lobby is better. It's worth walking down and filling your travel mug. As for Colfax, a very nice small town. People are very polite and calm. When we approached the intersection to cross the street, traffic came to a screeching halt. While my wife and I were out for a walk, a young teen was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. As he approached us, he stopped, got off his bicycle, removed his hat, smiled and wished us "good morning". I was shocked! You do not see this in the big city. When we passed, he got back on his bike and rode on. Not kidding, this happened! We only stayed two nights so did not get to try the local restaurants. Surprising, most were closed. Having said that, pass on the taco place directly across the street (ugh!). The market also across the street is surprisingly well stocked and has a decent hot deli. That's where we got our dinner the first night. Finally, from the hotel it's 90 minutes to Palouse Falls and 20 minutes to Steptoe Butte. My wife and I would stay here again. We are already making plans to return in the spring.
Stayed here for two nights. Football weekend. Very clean hotel. Sweet staff. Beds comfortable. Breakfast better than some higher end hotels. Waffles, eggs, cereal, fruit, sausages, juice, toast, bagels, packaged muffins/pastries. We will be back.
This is one of the places I've stayed in numerous times over the last 10 years while visiting my kids at WSU. The hotel rooms, common areas and grounds are always clean. They serve a nice breakfast. They have a good pool and they accept pets. Colfax is a quiet little town and good for walking around.
We choose to stay at this hotel over lodging that is an hour closer to our end destination because it is consistently a great place to stay. Staff are always courteous and helpful, the rooms are well appointed and clean. The breakfast is one of the best with a wide selection that is well organized.
We stayed here for 2 nights when checking my son in at WSU this place is awesome the staff is great. The room was clean and provided all we needed. I will be staying her many more times in the future. Colfax is just about 20 minutes from Washington State University, everyone who works there is a Coug fan so you can go wrong.
Great value with AARP membership, all the amenities you would need, friendly staff, full service breakfast (I made a sausage/egg burrito with salsa), the decor is a bit dated. Highly recommend it although I would not pay full price.
Our room was remarkably clean, and very very roomy! The pool area was very nice, very clean, and not so steamy that you couldn't breathe! Breakfast was a yummy added bonus, The hot choices were so much better than your continental with only muffins and cereal ! Just a hop in a skip to Pullman, so the drive really wasn't bad at all .... Would stay again :)
Great hotel for day trips. Ashley and LaDina were the best and went out of their way to treat us special. Good breakfast ready at the crack of dawn so we could leave before sunrise. Good nights sleep beds were comfortable. Clean hotel. Good price with AAA discount.
Maybe it was because I was there on a day that only about 20% occupancy, but the breakfast was terrible. You can't screw up the BW signature waffles, or cereal, or muffins, but the eggs were like rubber and the Candian bacon (I think that is what it was), seemed to be from days ago. If you like jerky the bacon was perfect for you. As far as the room and staff, however, they saved the stay. The room was clean and the staff friendly.
The front desk staff are very professional and helpful! The rooms are clean and comfortable with all amenities stocked. Although the Palouse region is very busy in the early summer, the entire staff works hard to make sure the lobby and rooms are welcoming. The evening cookies and all day teas and coffee are a nice touch!
Good room , good price , good night! Typical Best Western stay , no surprises , good value , no problems! Good breakfast with quite a few choices , and real silverware and real dishes! Good fast WIFI , too
A nice, clean hotel in a small town provided my son and I an excellent place to stay for a baseball tournament. We were close to the field, and close to groceries, which was helpful because the town shuts down at 9pm. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, had a good TV and an excellent mini refigerator (bigger than average). The staff's service was great, they were very helpful when we had to adjust our reservation. Overall, would highly recommend if you need to stay in the Colfax area.
First and foremost- the king size bed was fantastic and made for a restful sleep. The room was clean and well equipped with microwave and fridge. The price was reasonable by today's standards. The service was friendly. Only downside was a "poorer-than-usual" continental breakfast. They need to work on that. However, two blocks south of hotel, and across the street, was the "FONK" coffee shop - very good coffee and terrific homemade breakfast sandwiches.
Nice new facility with all the amenities. No complaints! Easy to find, easy access, clerk was helpful and efficient. The room was clean, did not reek of cleaning agent, no road noise, microwave, fridge, everything new and in order.
We had a lovely time at the hotel, Nice breakfast and pool. However Colfax is sadly lacking in places to eat. We bought food at the grocery store and ate it in our room. Lovely hotel, but there wasn't anything in Colfax to bring us back. We are looking to retire in eastern Washington or Idaho.
Great breakfast with different entrees each morning, very quiet, clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Surrounding area is quite pretty and a favorite of photographers. We will definately book uture stays.
Absolutely the best Best Western I have ever stayed at in my life it was an amazing Hotel very good service very clean. Staff was so incredibly personable everybody greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was great and they even had cookies for us in the evening coffee tea all available. This may as well have been a five-star hotel anywhere else in the world it was just phenomenal service.
Best place to stay when photographing in the Palouse region. Quite close to Steptoe Butte which is extra nice for sunrises and central to most other attractions in the region. The Wheatland offers great variety in their included breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Have stayed there on three occasions and highly recommend it. You won't regret it!
Internet Ethernet was not functional. Problem was reported to staff -- staff was not able to correct the problem. Location is good for photographers planning to tour The Palouse. Dining options in the area to average to below average.
The hotel was clean and had a comfortable bed. We had a view of the river and old train bridge which was nice. Sat in the hot tub for a bit. Colfax doesn't have many options for hotels so I'm glad this one was nice.
Ideal place to stay when doing photo trips to the fabulous Palouse. Even though it is the only game in town they have consistently provided clean, tidy, comfortable rooms and facilities for the three times I've been here in four years.
I rate this as excellent because of the terrific location for those wanting to photograph "the Palouse"----only fifteen minutes from Steptoe Butte, the best place to be for sunrise and sunset. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We were there in June and all guests had long lens and heavy tripods---a photographer's delight? Also a great value. Only downside is that there is limited dining options, but Pullman is only a 15 minute drive.
A great place to stay when photographing the Palouse. The motel is centrally located making easy access to the various sites one might go for photos. We usually made it back from a sunrise shoot in time to have breakfast and coffee was ready to take along at 4:30 in the morning. The stay was very enjoyable.
The location is wonderful, to market, to shuttle pick up location, to food all so convenient. The offer of 24/7 hot water and coffee is great. The quality of the breakfast is excellent. The internet service is very stable and easy to connect.
The hotel staff we encountered were all very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Loved that they had coffee and tea around the clock, this was a plus when getting up very early for your photo shoot. Also nice having fresh cookies in the evening as well. The breakfast room was always clean and well stocked.
I was attending a work conference and stayed in Colfax for 6 nights. It is a small town but .the hotel has big town services and staff. The rooms were clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed the breakfast each morning and the eggs and sausage/ham were great and got my day gonng on the right foot.
My husband just needed a place to stop overnight on the way to Coeur d'Alene Idaho and chose this property. When you walk in, you are greeted by a friendly face and a plate of cookies! It was appreciated after a long drive. The rooms are basic but very clean, and there is a very sweet note in the room for the guest. The breakfast was good, with hot and cold options and we had plenty to eat. I wouldn't hesitate to return here!
We were here for a photo workshop with Jack Lien's Four Seasons Photo Tours. I can't praise this hotel enough for their friendliness, cleanliness, warmth and personal care. We stayed five nights, and they even had things ready for breakfast for the early risers who were heading out to photograph. Our room was spotless, roomy and comfy. They could outclass many of the other hotels we've stayed at in our seven week tour.
The Wheatland Inn is in a prime location for some fantastic photography and bird watching. Rooms are clean, comfortable and with good amenities. Staff is professional and helpful. Pool is a nice way to exercise or cool down after a day in the sun.
Motel was great for what we needed and could actually get a good night sleep also. Clean room and bed comfortable. breakfast was fun to go into and see all the different food types that were offered. loved the waffles.
The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and large with all the amenities. The facility was well kept up. The breakfast was excellent with a variety of foods. I had an enjoyable stay and will stay there again when I'm in the area.
I've had nothing but pleasant experiences at this motel. The entire staff is amazing and location can't be beat for visiting the Palouse region! Highly recommend it when in Colfax. This sentence is just to meet the 200-char requirement.
Location is ideal. This motel supplies all your needs & couldn't be closer to the center of the fabulous Palouse. It has an indoor swimming pool, a workout room, a generous breakfast & nice staff. The beds are very comfortable & the rooms have both a microwave & fridge. I was a very pleased with the accommodations.
Stayed over a weekend and had a nice stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was nice with plenty of choices. Everyone was friendly. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Good service; excellent breakfast! Best hotel in the area offered. Fitness and pool centers available here as well. Staff provided great traveling suggestions in the local area. Close to main roads and great outdoors options.
From early on I could tell this was going to be a great place to stay. The reviews here said it was good, and the many phone calls to reservations proved the folks there are A-!. I needed 2 rooms for a popular weekend. I was able to secure 1 straight-away, but called back almost every other day to see if one had come available. Gina, Ladina, and the ladies there on Fri/Sat were all great. Very clean place, and well appointed.
Very Nice BW property. Staff was very friendly. Room was extremely clean. It was so quiet. Even though hotel was completely sold out, it was so quiet. Breakfast was standard but well stocked and not crowded. Not many options for dinner in town. We would stay here again if back in the area. A very enjoyable one night stay.
Everything was excellent, the room, check in and out, cleanliness inside and outside, friendly staff, presentation of lobby, very quiet, many options in the hotel.... pool, fitness room, a breakfast that offered a variety of food
We came in fairly late after a long drive on a Friday night. Our check in was awesome and freshly baked cookies were ready and waiting. We had a nice suite with a whirlpool tub that functioned perfectly and felt great after a very long day! Upon returning to our room on Saturday afternoon after running some errands over in Idaho, our room was done up beautifully by Lisa on the housekeeping staff. She did an outstanding job cleaning up the room from how we left it when we were to tired to pick up after ourselves. I don't really like to leave a big mess for Hotel housekeeping staff, we should have left her a tip, but I did suggest to the hotel that they give this nice lady a pay raise. The Wheatland Inn will be high on our list of places to stay in this area in the future....
Hotel is fine - basic room and breakfast. Onsite staff friendly. No follow up when I called back after the stay regarding the room rate. Had to call back again with no resolution to my billing concern - standard comment 'Best Western policy'. Would look at alternative accommodation options in the area, if we return. Additionally, in our case, we stayed for 3 nights, limited evening dining options within walking distance.
The hotel was fine, clean, and quiet. The breakfast very adequate. When we checked in, we requested a 7:30 AM wakeup call. There was NO call and we were late in waking and were late for a doctor's appointment in Colfax. Not good.
This is the best hotel with the nicest staff! They are so accommodating, and we love their afternoon warm fresh baked cookies! The indoor pool and hot tub is so nice. Everything is so clean and the beds were very comfortable! We will be back for sure!
Clean and comfortable, great amenities, convenient location and the best staff ever! Honestly one of the cleanest, most well maintained properties I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in a lot! But their best asset was their staff, who could not have been more hospitable.
Hubs and I decided to stay here rather than drive to Ellensburg. Check in was quick and easy ( booked in the BW app as we left Pullman ). The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not bad. Overall a good place to stay. We'll definitely be back.
I stay here whenever I have to travel to Pullman area. The staff is friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The cookies were fresh and delicious! Wheatland Inn is the only place ill stay in the area because its the best one!
I visit the Palouse area while doing photography field work in the Palouse. The place is clean, has a pool and exercise room, and a continental breakfast in the morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One assistant manager actually has assisted me in locating certain sites I wanted photograph. It's a great location to stay about 20 miles from Pullman. Regardless of the reason for your visit to the Palouse, this is the hotel I recommend.
Just stayed here for Dad's weekend and loved it. Pullman was sold out of everything and was able to snag this room about 1.5 weeks before Dad's weekend and it was great. Still close enough to the campus. Rooms were nice and staff was great.
The rooms are very nice and clean. The beds however are somewhat hard, but tolerable. Everyone was very kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and highly recommend it to anyone who is traveling in the area.
This was a fantastic Best Western just north (20 miles) of Pullman, Washington. Beautiful well-appointed room, excellent breakfast and a wonderful indoor pool/spa area. Conveniently located to take advantage of touring the many historical sites associated with the Lewis and Clark trail.
I enjoy my stay at Best Western every time I'm there. Great breakfast buffet and excellent friendly service. I'm always treated with respect. I enjoy the free cookies at night and the laundry room for cleaning my hunting clothes.
Stayed her for five days as we explored the Palouse scab lands fishing and hiking. Perfect jumping off point for this as it's closer to the scab lands than Pullman, WA, and less expensive. Hotel and staff were excellent and rooms were very clean. Dining in the evening is limited but since we were returning after 8PM we used Sub Way and a fast food place called Zips. Even though the hotel offers a free breakfast we enjoyed going to a dinner for breakfast on main street called Top Notch Cafe, then picking up a sandwich at a place across the street or at the grocery store. Hotel is very quiet even though it's on main street and next to railroad tracks as rarely does a train pass by and speed limit on the street is 25mph. Pullman is only 25 minutes away with plenty of fine dinning such as the Black Cypress-excellent
Hotel was okay...but way over-priced. Maintenance decided to paint on a Saturday while hotel was sold out. Smell was horrible! The hotel charges too much during WA State college football game weekend. They really take advantage of the situation! Breakfast was good, though!
Stopped on a Sunday night and the staff was extremely friendly. They had fresh baked cookies and offered to allow us to park the motorcycle under the front cover of the building. The also provided us a towel to clean the motorcycle windshield. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Very easy to find good access. Easy walking to downtown. Shopping very close. Very central to visit many of the local towns around the Palouse. Very close to step toe butte. And the snake river to the south.
Colfax what a beautiful place, so scenic and peaceful. This is our first time here but we will come back. Wonderful roads and great rolling Meadows makes for fantastic driving or riding experience. The hotel staff is very nice, room clean and fresh and the breakfast is above average for a typical BW. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be coming back next year on our motorcycle.
The front desk people were friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean. The bed was great. The breakfast was excellent with a very good variety of food and lots of it. It was very quiet in the room. And the fresh baked cookies in the lobby were delicious. Would defiantly recommend to anyone.
Very clean, comfortable and staff above and beyond great. Everyone of them. Breakfast was great every morning. Only problem we found was bed was a little hard for us! Everything else was wonderful. Our grandchildren came to visit for the afternoon one day and they loved the pool and hot tub. We have never stayed anywhere that the whole staff has been so good, Everyone was friendly and helpful made you feel very welcome. The breakfast were great!! Always a big and good tasting variety and always plenty!
This hotel in the Best Western Chain makes me a believer again. We had a late night flight into Spokane and drove as far as we could (one hour). There is a complete and hot breakfast, a pleasant lobby area and the rooms were what you would expect from a Best Western if this is their new format. It's easy to find and Colfax is a nice sized town if you need meals. Noticed a review mentioning the college in Pullman which is only 10-15 miles away. This would be a great alternative if everything is full in Pullman or you need a choice outside of Pullman.
Excellent service with excellent staff. Great price and good value. The hotel is clean, convenient, the staff are friendly and helpful, access is good, however as there are no elevators, if you have heavy baggage book a ground floor room.I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel if staying in the area.
This was a nice hotel, clean and close to WSU campus (20 minutes away). The bed was soooo comfy! We enjoyed our stay. Don't be in a hurry, staff members can be hard to locate but are very courteous when you meet one.
Best service I have ever experienced. They took excellent care of my football tickets I had to have shipped there. The breakfast is as good as it gets. We enjoyed breakfast burritos, waffles, and biscuits and gravy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The prices here were much better than comparable properties in Pullman or Moscow for a football weekend at Washington State University. We will be back!
The staff was amazing and helpful. We came in on motorcycles and they gave us all rags for our bikes. The facility was clean the rooms were nicely sized and the beds were comfortable! The breakfast in the morning included eggs, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, waffles, fruit, cereal, yogurt, and more.
Perfect location for exploring the Palouse, we stayed 2 nights. Super friendly staff, they supplied us with maps and directions to local points of interest. Breakfast was included (which was fine). Room was spacious and very clean. Bummer that the internet died during the night and so did our air conditioner. Next time I will bring my own pillow. There pillows are really thick. I will be back, for it is a great jumping off point for exploring the area.
A very nice motel. We would stay there again. The staff was efficient and friendly. The hotel is very convenient for our family needs. Service and cleanliness was important to us. We would stay there again.
The Wheatland Inn is just a very classic motel for a little farm town. Clean, friendly, but nothing really attractive. Just the deep Midwest style. Breakfast was poor, specially for a Sunday morning. We are used to find better price quality in a B&B. It was a little too expensive for what we had.
We were visiting family in the area. The hotel was great and it was very convenient to have a large grocery store across the street. I enjoyed having strawberries on my waffle for breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building was well maintained.
We stayed at this hotel for one night while en-route to pick up a new puppy! The hotel was super clean, staff friendly, and a bonus was the breakfast in the morning! The pool was open at 8 which was great for our two toddlers who had a great morning swim before another long drive! Thanks for the hospitality!
When I arrived the desk attendant noticed that I was riding a motorcycle. She handed me a fluffy new cloth to wipe down my bike with the hotel's complements and offered to let me park my bike under cover out front.
We called from Lewiston and were fortunate enough to get the last room that they had available. We felt even more lucky after spending the night there. Great hotel, great staff, and great breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and clean...the entire hotel smelled clean. Caleb, and the front desk staff, lined us out with driving directions and a map before we left the next morning.
We stayed at the Best Western Wheatland Inn while passing through on a motorcycle trip with some friends. The hotel appeared fairly new and has been maintained well. We had no problems during our one night stay. The bed was comfortable and, as always, the shower a delight, especially after a long day on the road.
Nice room with a good breakfast , internet was extremely slow when I first got on , I could look at one email , and it kicked me out - Was better later , and no problem in the morning - Breakfast was supposed to be at 6 AM , was ready when we went down at about 5:15 - Real stainless flatware , real dishes , good breakfast!
It is a neat and quiet inn in Colfax, which is very close to Steptoe Butte. It serves free breakfast starting very early in the morning. You may ask for a free map of 'Photography Hot Spots at Palouse' for touring this small town, but you need a car for transport. There is no taxi/cab service in this town. There are many heritage buildings and local stores on the Main Street near the inn. Although there are no restaurants in the inn, there is a grocery store just across the street, where you can buy many food items including bread, fruit, beer and ice-cream. There are also some eating places nearby, but checking the open hours is a must.
My wife and I stayed here on a recent photographic trip to the Palouse. The hotel is new in appearance both inside and out. Staff informed us that it isn't new, but recently renovated. Our room was very clean and certainly up to a standard which made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The inclusive breakfast was the usual 'self-serve' toast, cereal, bagel fare. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only minus point came when I visited the front desk on the second day to ask for a map of photographic locations printed on a sheet of cheap paper. I think the Chamber of Commerce provide them. The woman at the desk asked if I'd already had one. I explained that I had, but that we'd spilled coffee on it and discarded it. After some consideration, she eventually produced one from under the counter and grudgingly handed it to me. It's a small piece of printed paper!!! Fortunately, I didn't encounter her at any other time. Despite that, of course I'd recommend this hotel. Just don't spill coffee on your free map. ??
Very nice motel.....not much going on in this town. Great Mexican restaurant down the street about 4 blocks, can't remember the name. We were on a motorcycle trip, and parked our cycle right near the front entrance, which was covered.
First and foremost the staff are exceptionally friendly, pleasant, helpful, and professional. The room my wife and I stayed in was very clean and spacious for a double queen bed room. The facility seems extremely well-maintained including the exterior grounds. There are fresh baked cookies available in the evening around 6 PM, and they give you more than just a continental breakfast in the morning. The morning we were there we enjoyed diced ham with our scrambled eggs as well as country herb potatoes. They even had biscuits with country gravy. Of course there were muffins, bagels, pastries, cereal, coffee & teas, juice, and milk available. Overall a very pleasant stay at a reasonable price!
I was very pleased with the professionalism of the staff, breakfast provided, and advice on area activities. I would highly recommend staying at the Colfax Best Western. It was a very enjoyable experience.
We checked in early before attending a memorial service. Room was not ready which we understood, but at least we completed all the paperwork. When we returned, keys were waiting for us. Room was clean, fresh and comfortable. Very nice breakfast variety ready early in the morning. Employees friendly and helpful!
Excellent hotel to for visting Colfax area. This is a small town (be very carefull of speed limits). Ideal to all local attractions (Steptoe hill etc) - best for Palouse Photo workshop & tours. Little price for age of facility.
Everything you would expect at a Best Western in a small, urban town. Clean rooms, friendly staff and free breakfast. Overall, I would say this is a good deal for the money. Restaurant choices are a little slim but it's a beautiful, 20-minute drive to Pullman which has many more choice for places to eat.
Friendly Staff,Clean Rooms, Comfy Beds, Awesome Breakfast, Nice Indoor Pool and Hot Tub, Rosauer's Grocery Across the road, Eddy's Chinese Restaurant is Awesome, also, burger joint near by and subway. Pizza Place down the road
Booking a Best Western is always a good idea - you know what you're getting. Ideal central location for photographers exploring the Palouse area. Clean, well equipped rooms with friendly, helpful staff who clearly know the area well. Good breakfasted easy parking. No on site restaurant, but the Mexican place a few blocks down is worth a visit.
We have stayed at this hotel for 10 years. It really is a very nice, comfortable hotel with a wonderful breakfast menu. We had our rescue dog with us and they were thoughtful to give us a room on the first floor...close to an outside door. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We could stay in Spokane, but this has been our choice for years. You will like it too.
Was here in May 2016 for a photography course offered by Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Perfect spot for this workshop; Hotel very clean; staff very friendly at all hours of the day; For this workshop, it turned out to be a great base camp. Loved the Palouse so much I plan to return with friends in August and will likely stay here. Wondering what the best long weekend in August is to visit to see the harvest
I stayed here for a week doing photography in the surrounding area. From check-in (very late in the evening) through my departure, I met nothing but friendly, helpful staff. For example, when I checked in, the lady working the front desk asked why I was there, and when I told her it was for photography she immediately asked me if I would like a map of the area with many of the common locations on it. When I said yes, she handed me one. I found this map extremely valuable the rest of the week. The rest of my stay was similar. Breakfast included: eggs, meat, potatoes, gravy, waffles as well as the common things most hotels offer. The rooms were very clean. The room was quiet and there was no traffic noise. I was a little concerned when I saw the train tracks but I never saw or heard a train so that was not a problem. The bed was comfortable and the WiFi fast. I found this hotel based on recommendations from other photographers and am delighted to add my own. I would happily stay here again.
The hotel is in the heart of the Palouse country and is an ideal place to base a photography trip. It is a short distance (30 minutes) to Pullman, WA and Moscow,ID. Several organized photography groups stay at this hotel. Their breakfast room has a much more extensive selection of food than one usually encounters. Breakfast is included. This is the only real hotel in Colfax but they still go out of their way to provide a nice place to stay. Hotel was very clean and staff were exceptionally friendly
Stayed at this motel for 4 nights. The motel was spotless, the rooms were adequately sized. The front desk staff was helpful. The breakfast was good, but not outstanding. I will return to this motel. The meeting room was adequate for a group less than 20.
This property is very nice, clean, well managed and the staff are all very helpful and friendly. A great base if you want to go to Eastern Washington to take pictures in the Palouse. The Palouse is amazing in the spring with all the new crops and different colors of green contrasted with the newly plowed fields that are getting ready for seeding or planting. Breakfast is ready in the morning. They provide all the usual, cereal, eggs, potatoes, gravy, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, waffles (make them yourself - quite easy and the taste good!), coffee, tea, juices. It's quiet and the grounds are well maintained. Well priced. We would definitely stay here again. Only a few restaurants but that wasn't an issue for us. We were out most of the day and ate where we landed while taking pictures and Pullman is only 8 miles away.
The hotel was very nice all except the pillows. I would opt to stay in Pullman, WA instead of Colfax, WA as almost all the full service restaurants were closed for dinner at least twice a week so we ended up going over to Pullman just to get a good dinner.
Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Pool perfectly relaxing. Breakfast with good diversity and staff really friendly. Nothing else to ask for. For us it was the perfect hub for a photography tour at the Palouse area. Very close to Steptoe Butt
Our group had 9 rooms. We attended a celebration of life for granny in Farmington. After the activities we wanted to get together before bedding for the night. The front office graciously opened the breakfast room for use to use. We provided pizzas, wine and soft drinks. The kitchen supplied the wine glasses etc. We cleaned the room after using. The hotel folks are terrific.
Every one was very helpful & knew all the facts we were looking for & then some. Would recommend it highly! The staff from the desk person to the dining aide everyone was very pleasant . Would stay there again if ever I get to go to the Palouse Falls & Steptoe Butte again.
Wheatland Inn is a great place to stay while being in the Palouse area. If you're exploring the Palouse like we were, this is a great central location. I can't begin to figure out to start to say how impressed I am with this place. Friendly staff, clean room, great breakfast, and lots of amenities. Every time you run into a staff member, you're greeted. Including maintenance. Our check in was smooth. We were told where things were, including the cookies every night. The room was clean. Beds were nicely made. Probably too many pillows, but to each their own. TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, desk, and chairs make for a nice spacious room. Free wi-fi is available. Bathroom was clean. I like the soap/shampoo dispenser in the tub. If you forgot something, check the list in bathroom. Chances are they'll have it available at the front desk. We did have one issue with the bathroom, but it was taken care of immediately by the manager himself. Other than the cookies at night, the lobby has coffee, iced tea, newspaper, fireplace, internet access, chairs, and some books and albums of the Palouse. Other amenities up front are a laundry room, indoor pool, gym, conference room, and ice and vending machines. There is a breakfast room and breakfast is available longer than most places I've been to. You have four hours to enjoy a great breakfast. Waffles, meat and eggs, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, and juices are just a few of the many things you'll find. Definitely the best breakfast experience I've had at a hotel/motel. Wheatland Inn is in the north part of Colfax. Grocery store is right across the street. A few restaurants are within walking distance. It's clean, quiet, and very affordable for what you get. It's one of the best places we have stayed in. We spent about a week in Colfax and it was nice knowing we had a great place to stay each night. If you're spending some time in the Palouse, even one night, I would highly recommend the Wheatland inn. You won't be disappointed.
The Best Western in Colfax is very reasonable priced. It's very clean and quiet, and the breakfast they serve is way above standard. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. You won't be sorry!
Nice Hotel and great service! Kids loved the pool and our 7 month old was provided with a crib to sleep in which was awesome. The breakfast was good quick and easy! I appreciate the service that was extended to us the check out time was perfect @ 12PM not to early, allowing plenty of time to get the kids ready! the pool hours are also great not super early closing at 10PM.
The Colfax Best Western has the best staff I have ever experienced at a hotel. They are kind, helpful, and always has a smile. The Assistant Manager is in my opinion has the best customer service that I have ever experienced in a hotel. I am a Coug Mom and enjoy staying the 20 minutes out of Pullman because of the hotel and their staff!
We checked it and our first person was Allison we had a special request and she had no problem taking care of our needs....The entire staff were 100% some of the best I have ever encountered in all of my our travels...GREAT JOB!
Friendly front desk and housekeeping staff. Clean hotel and rooms. Great breakfast and cookies at night! Amenities: small workout room and pool were great too! Amazing value for the price! Easy drive to Pullman, beautiful countryside.
Quaint little town with not much open after 2 on a Sat. Some cool historic buildings and an old railroad line. Hotel is clean but walls are a little thin. Does have a grocery store across the street which came in handy. Breakfast was ok not as good as some others but it's all inclusive so hey. Would stay here again.
Sure, it takes a few minutes to get up and back to Moscow from Colfax, but the lodging experience is excellent. Highly recommended for staff service, amenities, and location. And the location is super quiet. You'll get a good night's rest for whatever is awaiting you the next day.
We stayed at the Wheatland Inn because we couldn't get a room in Pullman or Moscow due to the Jazz Festival. We're glad now because the Wheatland Inn was GREAT. The rooms were impeccably clean, the staff were lovely and the breakfast was genuinely amazing: fresh waffles with strawberries and cream, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, yogurts, and more. The price was very reasonable and the staff worked to accommodate a special request. I would definitely stay again and will be putting visitors up there, too.
Whenever in the Colfax area, visiting the Best Western is like finding a oasis of cozy and warmth in the rural Washington town. The staff is exceptional and accommodations comfortable. Only dings would be to update the fitness room and add more health-orientated items at breakfast.
I stayed 33 days here. The staff was outstanding and went well above to make sure my stay was comfortable. They assisted me with things of interest to do on my off time. I have nothing but good to say about BW Wheatland Inn.
Great, nice place to stay. I loved every bit of it. All the staff were helpful and very pleasant. Everything in the room worked just fine. I liked the hotel very much. The breakfast could do with a bit more variety but besides that, all good.
The staff are always friendly and eager to help in whatever ways they can. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Excellent free hot breakfast in the morning with choices including eggs, sausage or bacon, potato, waffles, yogurt, cereals and bread. Great place to stay!.
Always a treat to stay here while traveling throughout Eastern Washington. Always clean, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. The hotel breakfast is worth the calories, better than the normal standard.
We were traveling through and stayed here a little unexpectedly. There was low visibility so we stayed the night rather than keep driving. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast in the morning was hot and fresh. We did not get a chance to use the pool, but it looked great. There was laundry facilities too. Would stay here again if we came this way. We are farmers, and we spent time
Sought refuge in Colfax amidst Windstorm 2015, too dangerous to continue drive to Spokane. Looking forward to an evening of HGTV when BAM an apparent transformer break nearby took out power in all of Colfax. The staff were great that night and power was restored by morning. Thanks Wheatland Inn. Clean, safe, hospitable.
Everything was great during our time here. Wonderful staff and fresh cookies that really got my attention. they seemed very inviting from the moment we stepped into the lobby. The rooms were clean and very nice. We enjoyed our stay very much!!
This place is a great place to stay and a very good value. The bed and pillows were amazing - best sleep I've had in years. The rooms were very clean and quiet and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone! Although I didn't take advantage of the breakfast or the pool, I did avail use the fitness room, internet and TV and everything was great.
Hotel is very inviting inside and out. Clean and welcoming. Breakfast offering was very good. They had cold cereal, yogurts, fresh fruit, waffles, biscuits and gravy and much more. Pool looked very inviting although we didn't have a chance to use it. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly.
You would be hard-pressed to find a better lodging arrangement in Eastern Washington for the money than the Wheatland Inn; that is, unless your Mom lives in Colfax! Extremely quiet, clean and welcoming. What more could you ask?
Very clean Best Western Hotel. A short drive to Pullman or Moscow at less than 1/2 the cost during special event weekends. Worth the short drive!! Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and a fair breakfast in the morning. The bed was a little harder than I like, but the room was roomy. Microwave and refrigerator (larger than I would expect for a hotel room) were available in the room too.
Had to book a last minute hotel for a trip to Eastern Wa. Most hotels were booked due to WSU events. This hotel had one room left - was very clean, great breakfast, good amenities. The price was a bit steep for a place to sleep for two nights.
Stayed here two nights while traveling to WSU game. Very clean and quiet. Great staff. Ony issue we had, was no elevator. We would have asked for ground floor room if we had known. But overall, great value and we would stay here again.
I have stayed at this property a couple of times. I am really appreciative of their customer service. This property has been a great place to stay when travelling. Comfortable rooms, great breakfast for a hotel and would definitely stay here again in te future.
A very convenient location for attending WSU games. Staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious. Microwave and fridge in room (bring your own healthy breakfast food). Much nicer that the hotel at the other end of town...
Staff was not helpful or friendly, had to stand on bedside table to replace a battery in smoke detector. Staff did not offer to help. The breakfast is the same every day. Next time I'm in the area I'll stay in Pullman where there are plenty more options and it's only 15 minutes down the road.
Friendly staff and excellent facilities with an excellent king sized bed. An excellent farmers breakfast. A quiet environment. An indoor pool that children enjoy plus an exercise room. A very pleasant stay,
I've stayed in this hotel before and never been disappointed. This was no exception. The desk staff is super-friendly. Rooms are large and comfortable. In the breakfast room, the flat-screen TV doesn't play television news. Instead, it runs a slideshow of photographs of the beautiful nearby countryside taken by people who have stayed at the hotel. Considering that photographers come from all over the globe to capture those images, this is a special treat.
Very convenient with decent rooms. Indoor pool a plus. Good staff and hearty breakfast. Located at the junction of two highways, one heading toward Spokane and the other toward Seattle. Short and pleasant drive to Pullman. Very quiet.
I get so tired of having to stay in crummy motels when we have our very well trained dogs with us. They know how to be good a home and also in a motel room. This is a great place to stay with or without a dog.
Clean & comfortable. Pool and hot tub were nice also. The breakfast offered everything from waffles to fresh fruit to milk & cereal. The location is central to town as well as the Palouse. The staff was excellent and this lead to a enjoyable overall experience. I will definitely stay here again.
I stayed at the Best Western on Business in Eastern Washington. It is nothing Fancy, but was a comfortable clean hotel. I would stay there again. The Front Desk People were efficient, the WIFI worked well and seemed very up to date.
