Itinéraire vers cette adresse
"We love this location!"
This is our favorite Best Western along highway 5 (it is a little off the freeway, but worth it) between the Bay Area and Southern California. It's clean, staff is friendly, and breakfast is very filling! The internet speed was also pretty decent, and my husband was able to get a little gaming done.
"Quick trip."
I had to travel to the area for a quick stay. I haven't stayed in too many small-town lodgings in which I came away with a well taken care of feeling. This hotel is a jewel, and I will stay there again when traveling through. The rooms are large clean and quiet with a refrigerator. There is a large hot breakfast buffet with lots of hot coffee waiting for you in the morning. The service was great, and they are dog friendly. I highly recommend this gem.
"Great stay"
Great service, clean room, and hot breakfast! Stayed for a quick visit to see family and this location did not disappoint! Highly recommend this location if you are stopping in Coalinga. Easy check-in process as well!
"Best Hotel in the Area"
After hours meals available with a full bar in the lobby. Brand new accommodations with large rooms. Indoor rooms so you don't have to sand outside trying to get into your room. Great selection of channels on TV including HBO.
"Best Service and Quality"
I have stayed at this facility for various business trips for the past 4 years. They always continue to improve the comfort and they keep up with the technology times. The beverage and breakfast facility were great.
"Excellent Customer Service"
Becky in front desk was wonderful and always with a smile. Excellent customer service. Breakfast is good. Provided recommendations during my stay as to where to eat. Thank You Becky for your outstanding service.
"Pleasant and clean"
My work requires me to travel frequently so I've become somewhat of an expert at staying in hotels. The staff is always pleasant and helpful with the exception of one check out receptionist. Otherwise the hotel is Clean and safe.
"Comfortable hotel in a peaceful area"
Everything you could want in a comfortable, hotel. Price lower than in other places nearby. Town is off the tourist track, but the drive through the mountains toward Pinnacles National Parkis quite beautiful. Small bar serves up some nice specials and pizza. A very relaxing quiet spot, definitely recommend
"If you want to sleep go elsewhere!!"
If you want to sleep stay elsewhere!! Overloaded rooms, thin walls and ceilings, indifferent management. I found out that that the ‘Plus' in ‘Best Western Plus' simply means you can load up you room with as many people as you want. We were woken before 7am by extreme banging in the room above. We called reception. Their response was ‘she has 5 kids and they say they are not making noise'. This meant that there were at least 6 people in the room above - may be more, and 5 of them were using the room as a jungle gym!! I suggested that they explain that there were people downstairs that had arrived late at night and perhaps they could go down for breakfast. Management did nothing and their attitude towards me was at best indifferent, ‘there's 5 kids, there's nothing we can do'. A further note was that as I was checking in for a room that I'd paid $194 3 hours earlier (single rooms were $184) on Hotels.com, someone from PG&E called and was extended for $109. I understand corporate discounts but suggest to others to check elsewhere for value and a nights sleep. I am leaving this review because based on my experience they do not deserve the guest rating that they currently have.
"Fantastic Surprise"
We were on a road trip and needed to find a hotel for the evening. This hotel was a gem not expected! The rooms were spacious and the furnishings were beautiful. My only complaint is that I love bubble baths and our room only had a shower. Had we made a reservation earlier, perhaps a room with a tub may have been available.
"Great place to stay while traveling."
This was a great place to stop over. It's new, clean and the staff were all super friendly and helpful and when I say all, I mean all, from the front desk associate to the security (does everything) gentleman, chamber and breakfast people to maintenance person. And there is a cute little town.
"Pick This One"
There are a number of places to stay in Coalinga. This is the place you want to choose. This hotel is quite new (as of spring 2022), and has excellent rooms. The beds are exceptionally comfortable. The rooms are quiet, clean, and well-equipped. You really can't go wrong making this your choice for a stay in Coalinga.
"Excellent"
Most definitely recommend staying here. It is very clean. Their workers are polite & friendly and they offer excellent daily breakfast! It's in a great location no outside noise which died too interrupt a good night rest!! I will continue to book here for my Coalinga trips!
"Surpassed expectations"
Surpassed expectations rooms very spacious, staff on reception and bar very friendly and helpful. Arrived quite late but we're still offered some hot food which was great.staff were a credit to the hotel as nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend
"Excellent breakfast hotel in a small town"
Pool was Closed with a sign saying it was "Unsafe". Not sure what that was about, pool looked fine. It's outdoors and a bit windy. There is no hot tub. -Excellent Breakfast. -Window opens fully for a great "fresh aire" experience. - Bar is a bit small but fully stocked. - Decent fitness center, at least one of everything you'd want. - Ethernet (wall plug) did not work. Wi-Fi a bit slow, 1-10Mbps. -Decent sized TV (50"?) that would swivel out from the wall. But only 40-50 channels, most of the ads or shopping and NO guide. Neither on-screen or a print out. No HBO, Prime, Netflix etc. - Location is literally on the edge of town with nothing within walking distance. Because of this it's pretty quiet. - Few dinner choices. no restaurant, only some pre-packaged frozen microwave dinners at 4x the price at the store. No eating places nearby, most in town close at 8pm. - Best of all there was NO odors anywhere either in the hotel proper or my room. I thought this was especially great since not only did I catch whiffs of people smoking (outside) but also the distinct aroma of manure (it's farm/orchard country). It wasn't too strong or unpleasant but none of the scents made it into the hotel.
"Very clean rooms. Great staff. Near many restaurants."
We decided to visit Coalinga on a lark. We knew we could trust the Best Western Brand and were absolutely not disappointed. My wife was delighted with the comfort of the beds and the cleanliness of the rooms.
"New, clean and exceptional value"
Everything about this hotel was excellent. It was new, clean, and the service was wonderful. It was a ways out of town, but there were a number of restaurants within walking distance. Parking was free just outside the front door.
"Very impressed with the new hotel in Coalinga!"
I was greeted very warmly when I arrived. I didn't wait long to get helped. Desk clerk was very nice, and helpful. They make you feel welcomed there. Grest Hospitality!!!! I will definitely be going back there on my trip back to Coalinga!
"SUPER CLEAN"
SUPER CLEAN PROPERTY AND ROOMS, SUPER GRACIOUS STAFF. The hotel is easy to find and access. The rooms are large, CLEAN, and comfy. Breakfast was well stocked, with good hot food! You won't regret staying here!
"Accommodating during a stressful family emergency"
Last minute on a Saturday night, my husband had to drive up to Coalinga from Orange County to be with our child who ended up in the local ER, hundreds of miles from home. While my hubby was driving up there, I looked up local hotels so he could have a place to stay since the hospital would not allow visitors in the middle of the night. The Best Western Plus is 5 minutes from the hospital and had good reviews. I called direct and a very professional young man understood and got me a room right away, let me know we could have it for two nights if needed (which we did), and said late night check in was no problem. My husband showed me the room, it looked very nice, clean, updated, and there was breakfast available in the morning. Both front desk people I spoke with, Jose and Maria, were very professional and accommodating. Thank you Best Western Plus, for helping us out!
"Comfortable stay"
Very clean hotel and friendly staff. It does look like it is a very new hotel, so hasn't got worn down yet. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. This was just a one night stay, but we would stay there again. The only downside was a not so great breakfast selection, but the attendant was very good at keeping everything clean and well stocked.
"Very Impressed"
My son and I stayed for one night while visiting the Clear Creek Management area. I have to say, I was very impressed. The hotel is relatively new - according to the front desk staff - it was built three years ago (as of the date of this review) and they did a nice job with the interior decorations and up keep. The lobby is beautiful and doubles as the breakfast area. Pleasantly, they were serving hot breakfasts. When we were in Bishop CA back in July, everything was still pre-packaged danishes and such. This was a welcome change. Our room was a bit larger than normal, or at least it felt like it, and the decor was subdued and pleasant. Bathroom was nicely put together, water was hot, and there were enough towels. Beds were nice and firm, which I like, but I know mattresses are very subjective. The staff was also pleasant and very helpful. They really rounded out the experience. Overall, should we visit the area again, I would definitely use this hotel.
"Best hotel option in Coalinga"
You won't find a better place to stay in Coalinga. This hotel is new and sparking clean. Everything is clean and modern. The room was HUGE and quiet! The beds was extremely comfortable and the bathroom had wonderful amenities and an amazing rain shower. Do not stay at the Best Western right off the I-5 exit. It's worth it to drive the extra 7 miles to this place. Eat at Harris Ranch and stay here. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend!
"Courteous Staff and very clean"
We stayed here for two nights while visiting family. Our rooms were clean and nicely appointed, and every effort to ensure COVID protocols was followed. Breakfast was provided in individual bags and included a nice assortment. The staff was friendly and quick to assist. I would recommend staying here if in the Coalinga area.
"Great Cleanliness, Free Parking & Spacious Rooms!"
Hello, All! This property was great! My room was so spacious and clean. In keeping with their awesome benefits, there was free parking and breakfast. The lobby also has a snack area with chips and drinks for purchase. The rooms are equipped with ample lighting and good quality bath amenities (citrus-fragranced soaps, shampoos and lotions). Rooms are kept spotless and include an ice-bucket, a microwave and a small refrigerator. I was also granted a late checkout. Great place to stay. Great quality for your money.
"Clean and peaceful"
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet! All of my requests were taken care of with no issues at all. The bed was super comfortable and there are many outlets in the room to charge all sorts of devices.
"Always a Good Stay"
I pass through this area a few times a year. I discovered this hotel just as it was completed. They have very personable, helpful staff from beginning to end of your stay. I always travel with my dog and they welcome him and give us a nice pet-friendly room with easy outdoor access. I will gladly stay here whenever I am passing through.
"Skip Harris Ranch and go here"
This is a little drive off of 5 but it's worth it. It is a good stopping point if you are driving up 5 and don't want to pay the high prices at Harris Ranch. Let's face it, this is not a vacation spot. You are most likely in the area to get off of Hwy 5 and rest. The rooms were very clean and roomier than I had when I stayed at Harris. I didn't have my dog with me but I saw that they accepted dogs. If I have to make the torturous drive along 5 again, I will stay here. I was here during the pandemic and all staff were masked and I felt safe.
"Beautiful room"
I stayed 7 days here during pandemic due to work. & I love it here!!! Beautiful room, clean, the floor is beautiful & shiny. Laundry machine is new also. But I think the wall is not thick I can hear people next door to me but didn't bother me at all. The bar is close but looks beautiful & the gym as well is closed. Also maybe bring quarters for the laundry, the front lobby they carry quarters too. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Overall I love it made my stay comfortable. Ty
"Loved our stay"
Very clean, updated room. Comfortable beds. Professional employees. This hotel allows a late checkout and animals which is a must for our family. We were here for a job interview and needed the late checkout. We would stay again.
"Modern, clean, spacious "
Perfect stopping point if you are visiting Coalinga or traveling on I-5, although it is not directly next to the freeway. I had a king room on the first floor with a shower, facing the back parking lot. Quiet; firm mattress; and a hot, strong shower, which are the most important points for me. The rooms are clean and quite up to date — spacious, had both a sofa and coffee table and a long desk, microwave, good bedside lights for reading, and mini fridge. AC and WiFi worked fine. Decor had some nice upscale elements such as a slate (?) floor in the bathroom and a roomy tile shower. This was my first hotel stay since Covid and I chose BestWestern because I trusted they would have safe Covid procedures. Masks were required in the lobby, and the free breakfast was set out in paper bags instead of usual buffet style. Not a great breakfast for health-conscious people (Otis spunkmeyer muffin, small granola bar, small apple, and bottle of water) but I understand Covid makes things tough and there WAS coffee and hot water for tea. I would definitely stay here again.
"Stay Here!"
What a surprise to find this nice of a hotel on I-5 in California. It's a bit off the freeway - like about 10 minutes, but well worth the drive as there is nothing comparable right on the freeway. The website is a bit confusing as the address didn't show up on our car's navigation system. It's off exit 325 and like I said it's not just right there. They do charge $20 if you have a cat - kind of silly, but we paid it. I guess a cat could cause some damage...
"Mixed feelings"
This BW is fairly new, very clean, has spacious rooms, good parking, is pet friendly and the service is excellent. The Grab-N-go breakfast is adequate. This is a good choice if you have business in Coalinga. This is a marginal choice if travelling the Interstate corridor. It is 10 miles from Interstate 5. There is no restaurant within walking distance. Town is about 1.5 miles west. You'd better like Mexican food or Pizza. Oh there is a Chinese Restaurant. Harris Ranch steakhouse is 20-30 minutes away.
"our Coalinga hotel"
Best night sleep we had after a drive from San Jose to Coalinga to party with family & friends. The room temp. was just right ,The bed was nice and clean ,mattress nice and firmness just right.bathroom sparkling clean.i love the shower spray. Microwave & fridge in the room.all in all very comfortable stay.
"Still good"
Good: check in was handled quickly by a personable young lady; room was comfortable and clean; hotel was very quiet; comfortable king-sized bed; nice bathroom (no tub); microwave, pod coffee maker and small fridge (no freezer compartment); strong wi-fi,; A/C worked well; very good breakfast FYI, there are no restaurants etc. within easy walking distance.
"Bed bugs!!!!"
BEWARE: BED BUGS!!! My husband and I were horrified to find a bed bug on our 5 month old infant this morning in this hotel! The hotel was less than helpful, trying to suggest we brought the bed bug in with us! Impossible as we had just come from visiting our family! This has ruined our vacation and is costing us a couple thousand dollars in changed plans, replacing luggage, dry cleaning, etc. The hotel has offered us nothing and even refused to give us a clean room to move to while we regrouped this morning, forcing us to keep our baby in the room to risk getting bitten again. Do NOT book a room here unless you want a ruined vacation and a nightmare of a time!
"Business trip"
New facility, rooms are great, staff very friendly and helpful. Jose at the desk was fantastic. Free breakfast, generic items that are the same at other hotels. You can hear hallway noise more than normal.
"Excellent one nighter"
one of the best breakfasts I've had at a Best Western Branded hotel. Guest services always accommodating, especially Efrain? I think that was his name if I recall. This was a couple months ago and I told him id leave a review. Well hotel is very modern and new, I enjoyed the workout room and all the variety of workout equipment as well as towels and water. Thank you for a great one night stay, there is not much within walking distance but you can not give this place a bad review over that. It is your job as a traveler to research the area around the hotel ahead of your arrival.
"Amazing Stay, will come again"
I loved the hotel, super quiet, super awesome! Front Desk person Josh was super helpful and professional! I will definefintly come back again! The breakfast was warm, the eggs and bacon was really good. Small town of Coalinga seemed really peaceful!
"Great Mid State stay."
Beautiful new, clean Best Western Hotel. The Room was very comfortable.Lots of amenities in the hotel, Breakfast is great. Coalinga was great it was a very large and very cool museum. Harris Ranch restaurant
"Won't stay again. Nothing around it, and unhappy with service"
I waffled between staying here and the BW Coalinga right by the freeway. I chose this one because the reviews were good and they said it was new. It definitely is new, so very clean. I won't stay again because (1) there is no food establishment nearby. You have to drive into the town of Coalinga; it's only five minutes, but when you're on a roadtrip, like we were, the last thing you want to do after arriving at 9 pm is get back in your car and drive into town. You want something walking distance or a minute away. And their little "kitchen store" was very sad. They could do a better job stocking it. Also, our next door neighbor was very noisy, even at 11 pm. They were either drunk or on drugs. I called the front desk and complained. The attendant verified my complaint; he could hear it too. He said he called them, no one answered, he knocked on the door, no one answered, but he needed to wait for their security to get back. This type of situation needs to be dealt with asap, not later. At some point later in night they finally quieted down. I mentioned this to the front desk again at check out, and all they did was say sorry. They asked if I had been offered another room, which I hadn't, but I wouldn't have wanted to move at 11 pm. I shouldn't have had to move. Those people should have been kicked out. Just as FYI, the place is 10 miles from I-5 and you pass a state prison and a state hospital on the way to the hotel.
"Best Western Coalinga"
The hotel is new and reasonably close to Interstate 5. Rooms and interiors in great condition. They are large and the beds are comfortable. Shower area is big and easy to get in and out of since it is not mounted in a tub. Breakfast was substantial and tasty.
"Excellent Hotel"
Have been traveling through Washington, Oregon and California on our motorcycles. Because of distance, we booked Coalinga not knowing anything about the town. This hotel is by far the newest and nicest of all of the hotels we have stayed at over two weeks bar none. It is 2+ km from town, so we ordered pizza in, but if we had a car, there would have been more dining options. I doubt we will ever be in the area again, but if we are we will book here in an instant. The room was spacious, comfortable and had every amenity you could ask for.
"Good choice"
We only stayed one night as we passed through Coalinga at the start of our holiday. The hotel seems pretty new and we were quite impressed with how clean and comfortable it was throughout. The staff were very nice and quite helpful with recommendations of places to eat. The hotel was very quiet which was great compared to a lot of similar hotels (of all brands). Although this is partly down to the behaviour of other guests, it really can impact how you view a hotel! Our room was nice, clean throughout and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was standard stuff but done well. Overall we thought this was a very good choice!
"In Coaling on Business"
I normally spend at least one night a month in the Coalinga area and this is the first time I've stayed at the Best Western. Boy, I was missing out. Fine accomodations. I come to a hotel for #1 a good bed, #2 a good shower and the Coalinga Best Western had both. Well done.
"Family Reunion done well!"
We were in town for the first time for a large family reunion. We are originally from California's Central Valley and knew being in Coalinga would be HOT! (and it was) BW PLUS offered us a great deal as well as a convenient location near the park we were celebrating at. It allowed us to go to the room to cool off and be back quickly. The attendants were courteous, thorough and professional. The rooms were large and clean, plus pleasant in decor. The breakfast was good and the eating area was spacious. We were very satisfied.
"A quick stop in Coalinga"
We only had one night here as a quick stop between Tahoe and home. Jose was there to greet us. He was welcoming, interested and helpful. He immediately engaged with us, recognized my status, assisted us with a late night meal, and using the pool. The hotel is brand new!
"Best place to stay in Coalinga"
Twenty minutes from Interstate 5 and an hour and a half from Pinnacles NP. If you need a clean, safe and pleasant place to stay this is it. Family friendly, great internet service, good breakfast and helpful staff. This hotel is brand new and located right across the street from a h u g e field. Consequently, there were crickets the size of walnuts laying dead and dying outside the hotel and inside around the waste receptacles. Not the greatest optic but they are crickets, not roaches. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
"Convenient for my trip"
Consistent with the whole stay every time. Check in a pretty quick. Rooms at pretty clean. Plus that there is a microwave and Fridge. Wish there was umbrella's for shade at the pool since there is no shade around there and the sun beams hard in that scorching heat. But overall one of the better Best Western Properties that I've stayed at.
"Amazing!!"
Seriously surprised by this hotel. So amazingly clean and beautiful. Great for a family ( lots of room!). And, the art work on the ceiling was fun to see. The front desk staff was amazing at check in. Would definitely come back.
"Modern, spotless, great customer service"
Friendly staff, great breakfast, quiet room. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. Be aware that if you are driving on the 5 you need to travel quite a ways going west to get to the hotel. But worth the drive.
"Highly"
The thing I like the best about this place was the breakfast room. There was quiet music playing, a nice variety of an usual toppings available for yogurt or oatmeal or cereal, and best of all, reusable dishes and utensils. The attendant was very helpful. When I arrived, the front desk clerk already had my key card ready to go. I appreciated his efficiency.
"Nice Place"
This is a fairly new property so everything is clean and first rate. My past experience with BW is that this will continue. The staff was friendly abnd he breakfast was pretty good. There wasn't much of interest for tourist but for a great place to spend the night, great place to stop.
"very clean, new, ideal stay"
Excellent property, close to downtown, spotless property. It feels brand new, the rooms are huge, the bedding is good (pillows could be better) but the price and room size in incredible. A short drive to Harris Ranch for dinner.
"I would stay here again for a visit to Pinnacles National Park"
Beautiful new hotel (built October 2018?), conveniently located between Interstate 5 and Coalinga, about as close as we could get to the East Pinnacles National Park Visitor Center. Beautiful lobby. Courteous desk staff. Reasonable rate. Spacious, beautifully decorated room, with an acoustical artwork panel on the ceiling. Wonderful breakfast with pancake maker, ham and cheese omelets, bacon, etc. Self-service laundry on second and third floor with modern front loading high-efficiency washer, for two dollars per load (8 quarters). A small gift and sundries shop by the front desk that sold laundry detergent. Dirty AC filter. Comfortable bed. Decent shower. Roomy closet. Arm chair with footstool plus desk chair and desk. Yes, there was a strong smell of fertilizer in the parking lot, but once inside the hotel there were no bad smells.
"Very adequate "
I'm not much for staying in run of the Mill corporate motels, but this Great Western had spotless rooms, friendly staff, all in an immaculate campus. If you're ever stuck in Coalinga, here is your refuge.
"Very nice hotel in Coalinga"
Enjoyed my stay at this very new property in Coalinga. The room was very well appointed, and stylish, beyond my expectations. the bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and with plenty of towels and TP. the only thing that wasn't great was the TV was not set to the right source so I had to call the front desk to get that fixed, and something I didn't call about but was a little annoying was the mini-fridge's motor was loud. If you enjoy a cocktail in the evening depending on when you stay you may not be able to get it in the lobby...a feature I was told is coming in about 6 months. The pool looked inviting, but i didn't get a chance to use it.
"Not bad but room for improvement"
We stayed there last night and chose the Coalinga Inn based on reviews, price, and that it was a newer hotel. It's about 10 minutes from I5. Everything looked nice and the desk staff was pleasant. Our King Shower room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows. Room has a mini-fridge, microwave & pod coffee maker. Supplied toiletries were pretty nice and appreciated. Towels were cheap and thin. Not at at what I expected from this type of hotel. Also, the shower does not have a shelf for the soap and shampoo. They have to rest on the floor; Less than ideal and seriously cost a star. As a minor inconvenience, the TV does not have a sleep function. It's also wall mounted not facing the bed, but it does articulate out so you can watch it from the bed. The Coalinga Inn offers a free breakfast which has also gotten great reviews. I guess they didn't taste the eggs. They were shaped likes mini pancakes and tasted nasty! Maybe powered eggs? This cost the other star. They had sausage links & patties, but NO bacon. They had a pancake station as well as bagels and other pastries. There was butter, cream cheese, yogurt & hard boiled eggs in the fridge. Checkout was easy as it gets. Will I go back? Maybe. Now that expectations are set, I can use this to weigh the it against the other options.
"Best Hotel in Town"
Beautiful, new hotel a mile out of town. Really nice decor, beds were amazing and comfortable. Everything new and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer to try some of the local cuisine as our desk clerk recommended but we were only staying one night as we were traveling to Oregon and Washington via the coast.
"New stopover for us"
This almost new hotel is about 10 miles off the I-5 but for most people it is probably worth the effort. Check-in was a bit hectic as Eduardo did a good job balancing the phone with the guests lined up in front of him. The lobby/check-in / breakfast areas are bright and spacious. All rooms have indoor corridors and are easily accessed by 2 elevators. Our 2nd floor room was bright and clean although I do wonder how long the white computer chair will last; quieter rooms are on the back of the hotel. Good wi-fi signal. Very comfortable bed. Our room also had a pull-out couch and a wall-mounted TV with Direct TV and its hundreds of channels. The secret to the remote control seemed to be to point it at the red/orange box which was on the wall to the right of the TV. There is also a pool and an exercise room neither of which we used. Breakfast was good-not a huge choice but what they had was good: eggs, bacon, potatoes, juices, coffee, pancakes, pastries etc. If it matters to you: our room had a fridge without a freezer compartment; it also had a spacious walk-in shower but there was no tub. We will stay again.
"Good Find"
My husband and I were looking for a stopover enroute between LA and San Francisco. This is a new hotel with big spacious rooms, so clean and well presented. Eduardo and Jose were on duty during our stay and are doing a great job for Best Western. Look after those guys BW you've made a good choice with staff.
"CLEAN and COFFEE is ready early!!"
This hotel was extremely clean, well decorated, and staff were very friendly! I am very picky with where I stay, not a snob by any means, but the place must be clean and this Best Western Plus defiantly exceeded my expectations! I will stay here every time I travel to this location for work.
"Best Western, Coalinga, CA"
I found both Best Westerns in Coaling a, CA to be exceptional! I actually checked into the wrong BW in Firebaugh, CA when I had a reservation in the Best Western Big Country Inn and. missed my reservation. I ended up finding and staying at the Best Western Plus which recently opened January 14th.I must say that even though I never stayed at the Big Country Inn; I will next time I am in the area only because of Maria, Manager of the BW Big Country Inn, because she knows good business and has great character. Thanks Maria!
"Very friendly staff"
The hotel was new and very clean, the room was nice but somebody had used the bathroom and not flushed, the shower has no place to but the soap or shampoo you have to but it on the floor, there was what sounded like water pipes all the time in the walls, the heater air conditioner fan sounded like a bunch of crickets all night.
"Best Hotel In The Area!"
Amazing staff and hotel. Absolutely staying here again in the future! Everything was well decorated and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by all aspects of the hotel. The hotel is amazing for this price!
"Best Western Plus Plus!"
This is a new hotel, all in all MUCH MUCH nicer than typical Best Western's. The rooms are modern, clean and I like that the bed is not on a side wall to the neighbor room, but backing up to the bathroom facing to the outside. The rooms are good size as well. Breakfast was decent, typical and nothing to write home about but did fill the belly. As I'm writing my review I'm comparing this hotel to more expensive chains which may seem unfair, but the hotel is built to look like a more expensive and upscale hotel. Hopefully my comments below are just issues as they have just opened and will improve over time. I specifically chose this hotel as we'd been on the road for 3 days and I wanted a quiet, pet friendly hotel where I could get a good nights sleep. I did get a decent nights sleep, but it would have been better had I been on the back side of the hotel. Stay tuned for the rest of the story! I travel for work and I am use to paying attention to details. I am a light sleeper and am very picky about where my room is. I called the hotel as I was making the reservation to confirm my room choice of the back side of hotel as well as bringing a pet. Made the same comments with my online reservation. I called the day of our arrival to confirm the same thing, but was told none of my comments came through. I reconfirmed my choices. When I arrived I was happy to discover I was upgraded to a suite; however, no record that we were bringing a pet. I told the desk clerk I had a pet, so was brought down to the 1st floor (no suite) and was given a road side room. Turns out, the only pet friendly rooms face the road. Arrrgh!!! Had I been told this when I originally called I would have chosen a different hotel. Please BW fix this to allow pet owners either side of the hotel!!! This is also a customer service issue. In summary: Pro's: Newer Best Western, and much nicer than typical BW's. Staff works to be friendly and helpful Comfortable beds!! Did I say comfortable?? And 5 nice pillows! Woot Woot! Pet Friendly There is a nice field behind the hotel where I was able to run our dog In a location off I-5, and less crowded than typical I-5 hotels Con's: Most aren't big deals and I think should improve as may seem small, but there were plenty of small ones! -No pet friendly rooms are on the back side of the hotel. All are on the road side. (Ok, this was a huge deal for me and I should have been told when I called in) -The computer in the business area wouldn't come on. I was told the manager would be notified. -Ran out of eggs an hour before breakfast ended and it wasn't replenished during the time we waited. -Ran out of coffee in the lobby - It looks like the hotel build was behind schedule and it was finished quickly and already maintenance is behind. I could see grout swipes and clumps on the wall that wasn't cleaned up, pink paint drops on the floor and rust on the shower floor.
"Great hotel"
We stopped at this place On the way back to Canada. It was really clean and modern. We had no issue with the service either. Staff was super nice. The room was pretty good too. Overall, highly recommended!
"New, clean, but..."
It's everything you expect from a 3 Star hotel. Clean, simple, decent breakfast, and excellent service. Just a few things to point out that was a little annoying. The heater was a little loud and woke me up a few times. There seems to be a draft of air coming from the bottom of the door which causes the bathroom to feel a quite chilly. And lastly, adjusting the shower temperature was frustrating. It was either too hot or too cold. I almost didn't shower. It's nothing the staff could have prevented. The hotel happened to be in a convenient location for my planned trip, so my stay was ok. I wouldn't go out of my way though. Not to take anything away from this new hotel, but I'd give this hotel a 3.5 rating for what you would expect from this type of hotel.
"An amazing, clean motel"
We stopped there for a night sleep when we drove on the I5 north.it was a pleasant surprise between all the low average motels on the I5. It's a 10 minutes detour, but worth it. The motel was super clean, comfortable beds, soft towels, friendly staff and the price was more than reasonable. I highly recommend it!!!!!
