Best Western Childress West Hotel

You will pay a lot and get less than you expect. It's a spartan place, but the internet works. It was a place we found while ducking a storm. It was a tough night.

The Childress, TX area is undergoing tremendous construction and growth. As a result, all its local motels/hotels are in high demand. Along with that demand comes an excessive price. Parking at the hotel is quite ample and well lit. It has a secure "feeling". The lobby of the hotel is very neat and clean. Front desk staff are courteous. The rooms are quite dated. Bedding and towels have an "old appearance". The rooms do have a nice refrigerator. The complimentary breakfast is very good. Eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy and waffles in addition to cereals and muffins. The coffee maker in the lobby is problematic and did not work most of the time. Several early morning guests simply gave up on waiting for coffee. Overall, our experience was nothing memorable. Given the price point versus services at the hotel, I would not recommend. That is, unless you are part of the local construction crew and have a very favorable per diem.

Cockroaches in the breezeway. Bugs crawling on the floor while you are in the bathroom. Plumbing install without fixtures. Beds done with pillows inside out appearance that they didn't clean the room and $200 for a night is absurd.

I've always been a fan of Best Western, but unfortunately, this location fell short of expectations. The overall condition of the hotel was disappointing. The air conditioning in the hallways wasn't working, and the shower only had ice-cold water. Additionally, while the hotel has two stories, there was no elevator available, which was inconvenient. There are several other hotels in the area that are not only more affordable but also better maintained.

This is a horrible hotel who clearly does not understand the meaning of the word cleanliness. Was placed in a handicapped room and did not ask for one. Walked into a bathroom with water standing in the shower bathroom and all over the floor with a shower leaking. Asked for another room for my mom and I was told there were no other rooms yet Hotels.com showed there were 3 left. Maintenance came and said they would have to replace the shower head but could not do it that night. it was clear the room had not been cleaned as there was hair behind the commode and there were dead bugs in the room. They came and half ass cleaned the room if you call wiping a floor with towels clean. Then the maintenance guy started blaming the receptionist and playing the he said-she said game. This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in regarding cleanliness. There were no rooms available in Childress so I had to stay the night. It's clear the manager and staff don't care about cleanliness RUN, don't walk from reserving a room in this hotel

Drove all day, and our reservations at other hotel didn't work out, Alija (front desk) was an amazing hard worker who got us into a room late. great customer service and very knowledgeable. recommmend A++++ Would def stay here again when passing through

Nice hotel with very comfortable beds. We had a little trouble getting the heat to turn on. The front desk said we needed to choose the emHeat setting and that did the trick (just never heard of this before). The breakfast was good. The staff was polite and professional. Would stay again.

The floor in the room was dirty & had not been mopped during cleaning . King bed room only had 1 bath towel . When I first opened the door there was a clump ,of what looked to be dog hair on the floor . When my wife & I went to breakfast the coffee dispenser did not work . When the clerk was asked about the coffee dispenser , she replied " I think.its broken " . I was definitely disappointed based on previous reviews. Can not recommend this establishment.

Room was very clean. Comfortable bed & crisp sheets added to snuggle in comfy. The staff was kind & helpful. The parking is great for Elite Best Western members with a close spot. The room was organized and roomy with great TV display. The shower had great warm water without waiting for it. The amenities were all in place. Tge location was great for us on the way

There are just a handful of hotels/motels in the area. I have stayed in other brand hotels in the area. This Best Western hotel is the best for the price, . There's a decent breakfast & an internet connection that works quite adequately. I will stay here again.
