"Overnight in Austin"

This hotel looks nice, and decor is updated and upscale. Closer inspection shows a very dirty pool, exposed wiring in some of the common areas, no exhaust fans in bathrooms, and no hair dryers. This may be a new conversion to the BW+ brand. Located at 35 & 290, it is a bit tricky to get to. I am hoping it is a work in progress. They do offer a happy hour for guests, and a full breakfast buffet.

Great atmosphere. Great staff. The few inperfections paled in comparison to the unbelievable kindness and care shown by Judy who worked at the front desk. You do not see customer service of that caliber anymore...I have been around awhile and in the professional field for 40+ years. You can see and feel her genuiness and it makes a huge impression. I would've loved for her to be the face of my company but she turned me down. She said she loved her job. They don't make them like that these days. Best Western Austin Central is my new favorite.

I had an amazing stay recently and look forward to staying again. Room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was super helpful and courteous. Judy was amazingly helpful and friendly. Recommended this location to few family and friends. Keep up the good work.

I have stayed at this location several times this year and have always had a good experience. Friendly staff and management. Front desk is always helpful thank you Rene,Coleen and Judy. They also offer a guest happy hour which is complimentary.

"Clean, convenient, and great staff!"

My husband and I stayed there to visit his brother at UT Austin, and it was a very nice and clean hotel. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was too! Also, the breakfast was better than the typical continental. The best part though was this fantastic staff member, Judy, who was so welcoming and personable. She made the stay much more enjoyable and memorable! Thanks to her, we will be coming back again! Highly recommend staying here! And it doesn't break the bank!

"Nice and the price is right"

This hotel is not a luxury stay.... but it is clean and has all you need if you are in the area. The hot breakfast is average, not bad but not great. The workers work hard to keep it supplied and clean. Happy hour is great, lots more options than I expected. The front desk staff is hit or miss.... they did not use the card my brother gave but instead still charged the card I used to hold the room. Detail is a lot to handle so pay attention and stay on top of it. The rooms are not large. But they are comfortable. The beds are comfortable.

"Vernon Softball State"

The rooms were about average, the restroom was not clean at all (long black hairs in the towels) hair in the tub also. The Vernon girls win first game, had to stay 2 more nights for Sat. games. Went back check in for 2 more nights. Second night different room was ok, before we left the room I placed a small mark on the bed sheets. So, we left to site seeing Austin. When we got back no towels in the room, then I check sheets they had NOT been change. NASTY!!!!!!! Breakfast was hot, food was average.

The staff was most friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions on places to eat. The breakfast was above average and no crowding or shortages. An evening happy hour with free drinks was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only issue was a TV that did not work well.

All of our rooms are fitted with bed bug prevention covers on the mattress, box spring and pillow which greatly reduce the chance of an occurrence. Our rooms are inspected daily by our Housekeeping managers. Further we have a plan of action in place in the event any evidence is found. Our protocol is to treat the guest's belongings, the room in question, and all surrounding rooms as well as all cleaning equipment. Treatment by Orkin Pest Control is another part of our check list to deliver a pest free experience for our guests. When it comes to this type of situation our procedures are strict and immediate action is taken. We care greatly about our guests and strive to always put our best foot forward. "Very Good for the Money."

We stayed here for three days when we visited Austin and were very satisfied. The room was clean and the front desk people were so helpful! They really made our stay a lot better with their recommendations for local places to eat and things to see. One person who really deserves a lot of credit is the lady who made the breakfast!! The food was so good and not the run of the mill stuff you normally get!! The only complaint I have is the key system was horrible!! Something so simple should be flawless and this one wasn't.

"Not happy..."

This place was an absolute disaster from the start... Keys didn't work 4 times upon check in. Had to be let in like children. Immediately we killed s cockroach in the room.. On day 2, the buffet area and dining room absolutely stunk like throw up Then after we check out. They charged a $250 "cleaning fee" for smoking inside the room?? Impossible considering we're on camera smoking outside. First impression was nice...but there's more than meets the eye. I'm truly dumbfounded and frankly upset with best Western in Austin central.

The hotel had a strange odor and the beds were not comfortable. The staff on the other hand were very friendly and helpful. I understand that certain parts of the hotel were under construction, but I feel that they could still improve on cleanliness.

The staff was friendly! The Hotel was clean. They offer free breakfast every morning with eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits, gravy pastries, waffles, and cereal. They have free cocktails and hors deuvres 5pm-7pm Monday through Thursday! Convenient to the Interstate.

"Three fourth sized"

In searching for a hotel for my wife and I to stay at while visiting Austin, I came upon this hotel. The interior of the room is clean and modern, the bed and pillows are great and the coffee in the room is the best that I have tasted at this class of motel. As an added plus the staff is very friendly and wanting to please. The only negative that I experienced was the size of the room is about 3/4 the size of an average hotel room. Now given this fact I will return next time we are visiting relatives,

Just a couple of exits north of UT. Consistently good breakfast and very festive happy hour. Lots of regular guests on hand. Room was all I needed. Bed was comfortable. Mattress was firm and pillows seemed new.

The staff was GREAT and very accommodating. The room was nice but I woke up at 4am the second night with bites all over my body. The room had bed bugs and they put us in another room and refunded the second night. Which is cool I guess. I researched all the ways to keep from getting them in your home and did that but I'm still really worried about that.

I have stayed at this Best Western about 15 nights in the last 3 months. Front desk staff is always friendly, room is clean and up to date, good breakfast selections and free happy hour from 5:30 - 7:00. Couldn't ask for anything more in a comfortable overnight stay.

Nice hotel location very close to HWY. Employees are very nice. Breakfast offered was cereal, waffles and pancakes. Lots of seating area and all staff was very helpful. Pool is outside. Parking is a bit crazy at night.

"No maintenance on staff"

We stayed here this past weekend. Room was clean, so I won't give it just one star. But the second night, the A/C broke and it was 86 degrees in the room. Turns out, there's no maintenance person on staff (I had also overheard this when I checked in because another person had maintenance issues and the front desk clerk said there was no maintenance). So the front desk clerk couldn't fix it. He went downstairs to call maintenance but never came back. I went downstairs and he said he called the room. Well, the phone was broken. He didn't have the forethought to go back upstairs after not getting in touch by phone. He then said he can't fix it but he could offer $20 off the 2 nights we stayed. Now, friends, this is BS. If a hotel cannot fix such a large issue, and it cannot move you rooms, there should be no charge. I made it clear I wasn't paying and he did waive the charge, but I feel that he should have offered. I don't mean this to be entitled, I am saying this because this is a policy amongst many hotels and I'm not impressed that after being up for an hour in the middle of the night and having to chase him down, he lo-balled what he should have offered. And I don't want to hear a manager respond to this and tell me this isn't true-I've worked in a hotel chain. Location of this place is next to a sketchy other hotel and the breakfast has waffles, cereal, powdered eggs, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt. The typical free breakfast. It was crowded though bc it's poorly placed in a nook. Would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

We would like to apologize for the air conditioning failing on the second night of your stay. Our 4 pipe HVAC system is top of the line and generally very reliable. Unfortunately our engineering team leaves at 11pm. We sent up the overnight gentleman on duty to see if he could remedy the issue for you and he realized he could not fix it quickly. As fate would have it, this rare event took place on a completely sold out night. Our front desk person looked to see if we could move you to another room and saw that we had no vacancy to be able to do so. We apologize for your displeasure, given the circumstances, we should have automatically offered to waive the room fee for that evening's stay. An event such as this is so rare that our staff has little experience with it. We are not perfect but most guest issues are not this impactful so he didn't comprehend the compensation he should give. We have used your unfortunate experience as a teachable moment. We would like to assure you that we take the feedback of your poor experience to heart. We are sorry. We would love the opportunity to welcome you back with an overnight stay on us, so that we can show you the five-star experience you deserve. "Weekend in Austin"

I had an original room in a sketchy hotel and had to drive around at 1am looking for a real place to stay. The young man I talked to was very helpful and kind at 130am, I don't have his name but he worked on Friday night to Saturday morning he had black hair and glasses. Also the room was very nice and pleasant, we slept soundly. The breakfast wonderful. Judy was there Sunday and she was very kind and helpful!! She was so quick to help and with a pleasant smile!!! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!! The stay at this Best Western erased all the bad we had encountered Friday at the other place!!!!!

I happened upon this hotel because it was inexpensive and has a great location off 2 major freeways, but it wasn't noisy from the traffic: yay! The room was updated, very clean and modern, the breakfast was actually really good, and impeccable customer service at the front desk. I would definitely stay here again!

"Small hotel right near the highway. "

We stayed 2 nights to tour Austin. Being close to the highway made it easy access to get around. We had 3 adults and a medium sized dog in a 2 queen bed room. It was very tight. Room itself was OK, just too small. Beds were fairly comfortable. It was very handy to have a fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. We made good use of all 3. The included continental breakfast was also very good. Lots of different foods and very well stocked. The outside pool and patio looked great and very inviting, but it was too cold for us to enjoy them. Price was good which is always nice. Our room had a closet too small to hold the hangers which was a waste of space because you really couldn't use it. It's just too small. The sink drain was funky and needs updating to a regular flat drain. All in all it was OK and we would stay here again, but maybe see if they have some larger rooms.

We chose this hotel for it's location and price. It was a great place to stay. The location is great. It is close to just about anything in Austin. It took us 10 minutes in traffic to get to downtown. It appeared to be new. The exterior and interior were both very nice! The room was clean, the beds were comfy and the wifi was excellent. Breakfast was very good, the eggs in particular were real eggs- not the type lots of hotels serve. There was a nifty yogurt machine and some yummy add ons to make your own flavors. There is a big outdoor pool for warm weather.

"It was Horrible"

I should have demanded an immediate refund, but I am not that kind of person. The AC did not work. 90 degrees in the room that night. It cooled off to 82. I had an elderly mother with me and she was miserable. The two little dogs were panting. There was nothing good about this stay. They tried to squeeze two beds in a room that was meant for one bed.

We were in town for my son's graduation and wanted to be close the university. The location was perfect! The amenities and value were great! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Enjoy being able to have a cup of coffee/tea anytime in the lobby.

We come to Austin periodically and decided this time to star at this Best Western Plus Austin Central and it a great hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Staff was so very friendly and extremely helpful! We were looking for a good steakhouse and they recommended Austin Land and Cattle which was a great place to eat and made our visit to Austin so very enjoyable. It is so refreshing to meet a staff of people that has the helpful and friendly attitude of everyone in the facility! We will stay here on our future Austin visits if a room is available!

"Great accommodation and value for money"

We stayed there for an overnight stay on the first weekend of November and explored the museums and 6th Street. The hotel was newly renovated and we were given a quiet corner room on the 4th floor . The room was clean and everything was in good working order. Breakfast was delectable and filling. My only negative comment was that while we waited for our rooms to be available, we used the toilet near the reception area and it was not very clean and it had a stinky odor. Perhaps the public area toilets should be closely monitored because guests will still use them specially during breakfast. All in all it was a great stay .

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Judy, Renee, and Tracy were wonderful at the front desk. Breakfast was very good, the room was clean and modern, and the bed was comfortable. It was easy to get to the hotel either from the freeway or from local roads. We will stay again!

We were able to check in early after a brief wait. Having the luxury of being able to rest for a bit was a nice start to our tailgating at the Texas game. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the extremely clean rooms, nice decor and friendly staff. Location is great for the Longhorn game. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We received an email prior to arrival allowing us to check in and provide the estimated time of arrival.

"Great rooms - busy check-in area"

Great rooms! Comfortable beds and everything in the rooms works well. I don't like the check-in area now that it's also a bar area too. Sometimes it gets busy for the desk staff and I may opt to stay another place for business/family. If you're into a bit of a party atmosphere this may be the place for you sometimes.

"Practical Hotel"

We stayed in Room 230 during our Texas “road-trip” in October 2017. (And watch the USA GP.) The room was a reasonable size. However, there was no safe in the room – surely this should be standard? Breakfast was standard – but the breakfast area can get crowded. The hotel provided guest laundry facilities, which were particularly useful on our long trip. There are a few restaurants (Ihop, Taco Village & Captain Benny's) within walking distance, but had to use the car for anything else. All the staff were helpful especially John & Don who were very helpful. It was (by $/night) the least economical hotel on our trip – probably bumped up by the GP. The Hotel is a few miles out town, and driving into town was a nightmare. Parking is also a big problem. We found the best place was the Capitol Visitor Centre car park (first 2 hours are free). We parked for 5 ½ hours for $7. If you want to visit the SRV statue it is tucked away on the south side of the river. Car parking is available in small lots just off the street opposite the statue. We did make a trip out to the Oasis restaurant on Lake Travis. We thought it was a bit tacky, a lot like a tired English seaside resort

"Pube hair on bedsheets"

Well when I checked in to the hotel it seemed nice, but when I got ready to go to bed we could tell the sheets havnt been washed. There was pube hair on the sheets and the pillows looked like people have slept on them. I called the front desk to get fresh sheets and the lady had the nerve to ask me If we just have been staying there for several nights and she was the one that checked me in an hour before. Another problem with this hotel is We RAN out of HOT water. That should never happen. I only took a. 15 min shower and the water was cold. I will never stay at this hotel again. I'll spend the extra money to get a nicer hotel to enjoy myself, like I was supposed to.

We had about 20 rooms booked for the weekend. The rooms were good value and the rooms were very nice. The hotel staff was excellent, especially at the front desk. We used the pool lounge area as a meeting place for cocktails, etc. and it was perfect! Only slight negatives were a small area for serving breakfast and a slow checkout process, otherwise awesome!

Not a five star hotel, but, should be at least a four star hotel. The staff were awesome and you can see they go out of their way to make you comfortable. Not too far from downtown. Recommend leaving car at hotel and take Lyft or Uber. Not worth the effort and money to drive and park downtown. The front desk had Lyft discount/promotion cards.

"Horrible experience!"

Their free "full" breakfast is nothing more than a smaller version of a continental breakfast at other hotels, but it's in a small room thats difficult to maneuver without bumping into others. The hotel has an old funk smell to it. The "bar" is nothing more than a few bottles hung on the wall behind the front desk. Its not a nice place and I didnt have any hot water to take a shower...needless to say, 1 night was more than it should have been.

Everything was clean. The décor was up-to-date but the gray colors made the rooms seems dark. It would be great if there were brighter lights. Bathrooms has no locks. Continental breakfast was excellent. There is an IHOP walking distance and you can save your breakfast money because the Best Western breakfast was fresh, hot and good they had waffle and pancake irons. Outdoor pool, gym, laundry room Shower has sprayer that can be lowered, raised and move in any direction, nice. We had the Deluxe King room, my son had the Double Queen beds and I liked his room better than the Deluxe. Deluxe just had extra empty space. Windows pulls open about 6 inches and no screen. Very nice and decent stay but not a luxury hotel.

"Visit to Austin TX"

This location was perfect for all the events we had on our agenda for the weekend with the grandkids - as just minutes from wedding venue and also downtown tours and attractions. The breakfast served was perfect for getting the day started each morning. Despite it being November-the weather this weekend still made pool inviting enough for our youngest and it was nice and quiet relaxation time for me out on their lovely patio by the pool. Being right next to I 35 one would expect noise from traffic - but not a peep. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Parking well lit and security walking the premises made it very secure.

"Lacking Attention to (Important) Detail"

I probably would have had a nicer stay at this BW if I had been able to get into my room without help. Every-single-time. Our door lock barely worked from the outside, being almost totally unable to recognize the programmed key cards for the room. Staff informed us this is common at this hotel. So every night we had to get new key cards in an effort to "trick" the lock - sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. The bathrooms aren't separate from the rooms (at least ours wasn't) they just have a sliding plank door - so it's not ideal if you like things like privacy while you're in there. Comfortable bed and relatively quiet, not my worst stay, just so far from my best I wouldn't recommend it.

This hotel was gorgeous!! Very clean, nice decor and the staff was very nice. The rooms were clean and the beds are soooo comfortable!! The bathroom was big and had a great shower! Fridge and microwave were great to have in the room!

"summary of stay"

Very nice lodging for a female traveling alone. I felt safe. Noise from either mini fridge or tv, not sure, constant. 2 groups of extremely loud and obnoxious people, 1 at about 2:30am, again at appx 3:30am, both Saturday and Sunday nights (or, Sun and Mon morn). I heard partying from adjacent room also but not sure if next door or above my room. Other than the behavior of other guests and no fault of the hotel, my stay was very very nice. I do not sleep well away from home, so the noise factor cost a lot of the sleep I may have had.

This hotel was very nice and clean. The sink area was small, especially if you have very many people that need to spread out their make up or personal hygiene items like toothbrushes, hair accessories, etc. The decor was modern and we enjoyed our stay there.

"Overpriced and lacking"

We booked this room months in advance and chose this hotel because it was supposedly recently renovated. The price ( @$270 a night after taxes) was a little higher than I would normally pay but we decided to give this chain a try again. The room ended up not being what I would consider a suite because of how small it was but it was clean and the linens smelled fresh. For having been renovated recently I was disappointed to see that it had several blemishes in the drywall and the bathtub and sink were both missing drain plugs so we couldn't take a bath. There isn't any artwork in the room to make it feel more cozy and inviting but the furniture is updated and in good condition. The one thing other than the housekeeping staff that impressed me was the parking lot security that was present to prevent any worries that I might have had about my vehicle being broken into.

I enjoyed my stay just didn't enjoy the loud people in my floor. And I know that's nothing to do with the hotel so I will rate the hotel and staff a ten. Breakfast was amazing no complains I didn't have to wait in line served my self what I wanted because there was enough for everyone. It was clean enough for me and I am a germ freak but I was happy with the cleanliness. Super friendly staff which I love. Until next time!

"A good hotel"

I like Best Western hotels. I have stayed in one in Madrid and another in Los Angeles. It was always a pleasant experience. The hotels in Madrid and Los Angeles were located in areas where it was possible to walk to many places. The hotel in Madrid did not have a restaurant, it had a cafeteria that closed at 7:00 am. In Madrid they would bring hot beverages to your room if you asked. The Austin hotel did not have a in house restaurant, and the out-souced room service was very expensive. I wish they had more vending machines available.

A good place to stay, easy to find, situated right by the freeway. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Quick and efficient service, central location made it easy to get to the places we planned on visiting. The included breakfast was great as we were leaving first thing in the morning. The desk staff were helpful in making and checking reservations at BW Hotels for the next few nights.

They went out of their way to make my check in easy, I arrived early and it was a busy weekend but they got me in right away and were very friendly. Room was clean and had nice amenities (fridge, microwave, nice TV)

Great Location mins from the Captial, UT Campus, Moody Theater and downtown area. We were in town for a concert initially booked at the La Quinta right behind it and it outdated and run down. We checked in and checked out and moved over to the Best Western plus. Saved me a lot of headache with the wife and daughter. The Best Western Plus staff were very helpful and the room was very clean and modern. Would definitely stay there again.

"Nice Place"

This was a spur of the moment stop for my husband, 2 friends and I. Evening clerk was very nice. Price was very reasonable compared to others in the area. Room was clean, beds very comfortable. Good complimentary breakfast. Only downside was I got up to go to the bathroom around 11:30pm. Noticed a lot of water on the floor by the toilet. Thought the toilet was leaking, but it was coming from the vent on the ceiling. Hated to wake my husband as he wasn't feeling good, but didn't want to stay in a room where water was leaking. Was able to change rooms right away(across the hall). Was rather disappointed when we checked out ---no apology, no discount except for $1 off a bottle of water. Just a thanks for letting us know!!!! I wasn't expecting a free night. But a" gee, we're really sorry that you had to change rooms in the middle of the night " would have been nice.

This was a nice place with a friendly GM. There is an electric vehicle charger onsite, and although a very slow charge, it was very handy. Central location made it easy to get to Austin attractions throughout the city.

"Looks are deceiving"

The place has been renovated a bit and looks nice. Room rates were decent BUT oh the noise! You could hear everything and everyone! Every door slam, people walking down the hallway, there is absolutely no sound or acoustical treatment at all in this place. The kicker was that the place allows dogs. I am all in favor of that, however, when an owner can't control their dog and their is no sound treatment, you hear the dog bark all the way down the hall and into your room. You (once again) heard everyone and everything that walked past your room and in the hallway. Not restful at all.

We stayed here for a weekend trip to Austin. The hotel had reasonable prices and was an easy driving distance from downtown (10 mins or so). We had a double queen room that was nicely updated. Everything was clean and well arranged. Plenty of plugs and USB slots to charge everything. Great AC. Beds were a little firm, but comfortable. I love a completely dark room to sleep at night and the curtains definitely do that! No matter the time of day if the curtains were closed it seemed like night time in the room. Big parking lot so even with a full hotel we had no problem finding a spot. The sides and back entrance are all fenced off so it makes it feel more secure. There was a little noise on the side we were on since we had the pool and seating area below us, but nothing that bothered us. Staff were friendly and helpful. Building felt secure. Needed a key card to get into the building if you weren't using the front entrance. Had no problem with the neighborhood. The breakfast had many options and was delicious. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we visit next time.

Good place, great location, clean and comfortable room. Nice decor and quiet place. Front desk agents are nice and competent in their profession. Got an ugly look from one of the office staff as I was checking out in the morning and it left a bad impression. Imagine leaving your house in the morning, ready to tackle a new day and that's the last thing you see before you walk out the door. Starts the day off on a bad note.

The overall quality of the hotel is good. But I found the bathroom in my room to poorly designed and the room maid service to be poorly trained in following hotel's policy on towel reuse for water conservation, poorly trained in proper way to make a bed, and poorly trained in setting the room thermostat at an appropriate temperature.

I was so not impressed with the location nor the exterior of the hotel. The front desk attendant was rude and didn't acknowledged us when we arrived and were standing in front of him waiting for him to finish with another client. The hotel was loud even during late hours of the night. I was not pleased at all.

comfortable and newly updated. location a tad twisty to get to, but the hotel is good to stay at. comfortable, clean, staff are nice. Lobby dynamics make it hard to get thru if there are a lot of people, but that is a minor thing. otherwise hotel is worth it for the price.

This is my first time lodging at Best Western in Austin Central. My family and I enjoyed it very much and we were impressed with the level of customer service attention. It was superb!!! The location was a few minutes away for the University of Texas - Longhorn Engineering Event. It was close to Capital Plaza to shop and had several restaurants close by to choose. The downtown scenery was beautiful as well.

One night stay during Labor Day weekend turned out to be just average. The room had small ants on both night stands but I was able to quickly get changed to another room. Check in staff was ok but the check out staff seemed more attentive. I was surprisingly impressed with the breakfast options. There's plenty of parking and the hotel does feel safe but hard to get to because of where it's located.

started off with the great price for the stay for us 4! to the wonderful staff also to include the maintenance people the beds were comfortable and we even needed complimentary toothbrushes that were brought to the room and when the remote didn't work they brought one to us right away no worries! easy handicap access parking and a smile leaving and by the way very accessible to the highway

Arrived at property at 4pm and was able to check in. Was able to park at a convenient entrance and used elevator to room. Was invited to a complimentary happy hour in lobby, with free snacks. Room and property were in good condition, although hall carpet could use cleaning. The property did have some minor road and facility noise that occasionally I heard while sleeping. Using HVAC can function did not offer much help.

Everyone of our hotel keys (4) had to be reissued at least once. Each time we requested a new key, the clerk did not ask for any identification. Safety was our biggest concern. Besides the ease that someone could get our room key duplicated, there were often men loitering at the hotel entrance or in the hotel lobby, drinking and smoking. Our rooms were not cleaned by housekeeping until after 6 pm after our first night. It is disappointing to return to the hotel after a full day to find the room not cleaned and clean towels restocked.

"Nice to be just out of downtown to make it easy on and off the freeway"

Had to be at the capital for a few days and chose this Best Western due to the proximity to down town, but being a little bit away. Check in was busy, as it's a small check in desk, however the staff handled the crowd professionally and with courtesy. The GM John Kueker is excellent. He went out of his way to make sure my business partner and I had a comfortable stay and helped us utilize the business center. He also personally followed up to make sure our stay was as it was supposed to be. The room was clean and comfortable. Beds were good too. Our company is very small, but we are on the road quite often. When we are in Austin next, we will be staying at this Best Western without a doubt.

I was at best western for 10 days and I had no problem with them until I left and asked about an item I had forgotten at the hotel. I was going to pay for the shipping i just needed them to find it for me. I had to call three different times and each time they said they would check. The fourth time I called, the General Manager John Kueker answered said he would check had me on hold then hung up on me!!!!! It seems like the company does not care about their customers after you leave the hotel as long as you spend your money booking their hotels. Very disappointed will not be doing business here again.

This hotel is located in north Austin about 3 miles for our son's new apartment. Great access to I-35 and 290. Hotel staff is great; lobby area is very comfortable; breakfast was plentiful and tasty; rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. For the price, you couldn't beat this place!

Tips: 1. Don't check-in between 5:30-7:00 pm, that's when the social hours are going on. Free alcohol at the front desk area and only one staff member to do both the bar and reception desk. You might have to wait to get checked-in because somebody needs another round of mojito. 2. If you have a pet you will be designated to a specific room which you will pay $20 for each night, whether you actually have your pet or not. I reserved the room for 2 nights and will have my wife join me the second night with our dog. I thought I could save the $20 for the first night. This is not a criticism of the policy but just want potential customers to know. It was a little noisy where I stayed at, first floor beside the patio area. Overall it was a nice hotel and the price is I think a bargain for the area.

Hotel updated in 2016. You can see upgrades everywhere. However, still has old hotel layout. Pros: CLEAN!, Friendly staff! Cons: Mattress. One of the most uncomfortable I slept in. It was way too firm for me. My 11 year commented on first... Even though mattress wasn't the best I would stay again.

Renovated property at a reasonable price. Traveling on business and the location is central for my needs. Complimentary adult beverages from 5:30-7:00 each night might appeal to some. Continental breakfast also available. I just needed somewhere clean to sleep and prepare for work and was very pleased. Staff were very friendly.

GORGEOUS rooms with excellent customer service! The staff was delightful and helpful. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home. Very roomy, and modern decor. This is one of my favorite Best Westerns I have stayed in.

Never stayed at a BW, but when a usual hotel had no vacancy, driving around lost, pulled into the parking lot of this hotel. check-in was effortless, young lady at front desk was poised & pleasant. Facility well maintained and comfortable. Already planning to stay here next time out.

We were there for four days. There was too much noise on the floor because of few families on our floor. Also there was bar on the lobby. Many men were drinking and many weird man were handing all over the lobby and front desk.

The hotel is clean, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I was impressed that we came back from a blues club at 2 am, and there were staff members at the front lobby area. It made me feel very safe. The location is convenient. The room is comfortable, and we especially liked the pillows. There's free breakfast, parking, and wi-fi

I would give this place a 3.5 out of 5. It is nice and newly renovated, but the smell still exists. It is in a crap side of town as there is much construction and work going on. It is directly beside an America's best price (CHEAP) motel.. I won't stay there again, but the staff wee good. I was greeted at the front with two glasses of beer. I was up all night though, as the neighbors from across the parking lot were all outside drinking and partying outside in lawn chairs til 1 am. I couldn't understand what they were saying as most of it was in Spanish.... but again, I won't be back.

This is a very well rounded hotel. The breakfast is very well accommodated and has many options. It has a small bar area where they have completed drinks for guests. The pool is not the average small kiddie pool and has a large covered area to get out of the sun. The gms name is Jim and is very helpful with any issues u might have.

Friendly staff and comfy room. Yummy breakfast including meat and eggs. The guy bartending during happy hour made a great Bloody Mary! We had to stay an extra day due to car trouble, and the staff went above and beyond to make this as painless as possible.

The place was nice. I've never been to a BWPlus, so I was impressed by the room design. Very close to DWTN so less than a $10 Uber. Also close to major attractions if in the city for a getaway. No major issues internally, at check in, the front desk clerk didn't see my reservation so I had to show her my phone confirmation (always helps to have that!) and I tried calling down to the front desk when my room filled with the smell of cigarettes and the phone didn't dial out. Nevertheless a cool place. Didn't swim or workout bc we were out the entire weekend but would've taken advantage if had time. Breakfast was pretty good as well and the staff we encountered were nice. Would come back if I got a good deal.

Excellent value for the money, and a great breakfast to boot ( The ladies who work that area did a great job of keeping the breakfast items fresh and warm)! In fact I found almost all the employees I encountered there at the hotel to be hard-working, and courteous. The room's decor was pleasing, and the beds were clean and comfortable too.

"Nice place, not so nice to stay in"

The location is little dodgy but the clientele are even dodgier. The Manager was gently chiding one man for having a party in his room and there was a drunken party going on until past 10pm by the pool--which was right under our room window. The unsupervised children of that party were running in and out of the gym and I was shocked that access was not restricted by guest card, that there were no signs requiring adult supervision and that kids were at serious risk of getting seriously hurt. It's pity because the rooms and dining areas are very nice. The breakfast is the usual stuff but there's an IHOP just a few steps away.

The hotel is surrounded by security cameras, as well as security in the hotel and the front desk keeps careful watch over who comes in and out of our doors. We close our patio and pool area by 11pm and 9pm for pool each night. Our Front Desk does the best they can to keep our hotel free of loud parties and we always require parental supervision for children staying with us. Our front desk did speak with the guests that occupied the patio and they were asked to vacate upon its closing. We require key entry for each entrance but in the event a guest has propped a door open, we appreciate a call to help us keep our hotel secure. The food was good they had a nice variety of options. Room was clean, staff was nice. The internet connection wasn't too good but other than that it is not a bad place to stay at. They are pet friendly and have certain areas of the hotel for pet owners.

Rooms and staff was nice but was dirty because found women's underwear under the desk. That was the only thing about the room that I was disappointed in. I highly recommend using this place. Just make sure the room is clean.

"Quick stay"

I was pleased overall - although the room was very cozy (a nice way of saying cramped). My only complaint is that when my daughter went outside in the middle of the night, there were others out there as well and she was talking with them. One of the staff members came out to ask them to leave. Maybe it was too late to smoke. Don't know, but if you can't smoke in your room, then the outside seating area would be the only place left.

The rooms was dirty not clean looked like they just made the beds and that all cleaned up a little around the counters. It was my family first time in a hotel and after they saw the room they didn't want to stay again in a hotel. They wanted to leave that same night.

Hotel was nice and clean. The staff was polite and friendly. All enmities worked except the TV. had trouble changing the channel. checkout was easy. Shower was hot and did not run out of hot water. did not hear traffic outside.

We were a little skeptical of the location and surrounding low budget hotel next door. But when we arrived the staff was very welcoming and personable. The facility was clean and well kept. The breakfast buffet was pretty basic but held us over until we went out to explore Austin!

I went to Austin for the UT graduation. This Best Western was not too far from campus. The room was nice, comfortable, and clean. I did have to ask to get the room made-up on the second day because it had not been done by mid-afternoon. I wish hotels would figure out that they need an area outside of the bathroom, where a woman can put on her makeup and style her hair, while the bathroom is being used by someone else. There was a large mirror in the room, but the lighting made it impossible to see well enough to apply makeup. Also, I feel like the rates were jacked-up because it was a busy weekend in Austin. Overall, it is a nice hotel.

Hotel was comfortable and clean. It has been newly refurbished and the furnishings are very nice, modern, clean and pretty. Very nice lobby with large sitting lounge area. Breakfast bar has a large variety of breakfast foods included. Good firm mattress, no noise from the highway. Air conditioning was efficient and quiet.The room and bathroom were small but adequate. Hotel was reasonably priced. Very close to the university. A pleasant stay.

my family got sick off the free breakfast only one lady was running the whole breakfast bar our belief it would of better be ran by min of two operators. most of our stays at BW plus are way above average but this time with many of my family getting sick from the breakfast i cant give our experience here a good review and we had to come home early if that wasn't the worst part.

Very comfortable, clean, and convenient room. Close to downtown. Staff is very nice, very easy going.. complimentary breakfast is pretty good and many options to choose from.. i came here for a family graduation stayed two nights and enjoyed my nights where I didn't want to leave back to Houston. I highly recommend this hotel. If anything I would say, beds could be a little softer but that's it... book here

The hotel was clean and newly updated. Close proximity to downtown Austin and Univ. of Texas via a car. Restaurants are nearby too. However, a car is necessary as the local vicinity is not designed for pedestrian activity.

Check in was quick and friendly. Room was a decent size. Isn't hard to find, right off the freeway. Very close to 6th street. Beds were hard at first but once you lay down those bed are SOFT! The pillows AMAZING! I wanted to keep one so bad, lol. Overall the stay was great. I was on a diet at the time so I did not have their breakfast but my family said the breakfast was good. The A/C does not make noise and it does get cold.

The best place to stay in Austin. Great atmosphere and world class employees. 5 minutes away from UT, and 10 minutes in traffic. Our company continues to use Best Western Plus Austin Central as our go to destination when we come to town.

Easy access to University area and I35. Staff were friendly and helpful. Manager's evening reception was appreciated. My room was clean, roomy, and nicely appointed. Iconic Mexican restaurant within walking distance and many other options within a short drive.

"Good for the price"

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was a pretty good value. Clean, friendly, good WiFi included with room. The location is pretty good, although it is supposedly by the airport I never heard any plane noise. Easy access to I35 both north and south. There's an IHOP in easy walking distance, and the included breakfast had a good selection.

Extremely nice, friendly and efficient front desk people. Quick and easy check in and out. Nice, spacious and clean rooms. They have free breakfast, parking and gym. The bathroom door did not latch shut, but as long as the other people in the room know you are in the bathroom, that isn't an issue.

The rooms weren't horrible, pretty standard considering others I have been to. I would come back again. Do need to dust rooms more better. I have allergies to dust. Breakfast was available on time. No problem with internet. That's a plus.

It's hard to believe that the BW I stayed in over the weekend is the same hotel getting all these star reviews! Thank God we only had to sleep here and were gone the rest of the time on both days. The maid service was something else. She actually left the room looking worse than when we left it on Saturday! The beds looked like they had been made by a child. Pillows were still all over the floor, soap wrappers left on the bathroom sink. In all my years of traveling worldwide, I've never seen anything like this. We asked the manager to come take a look at the room (I have video as well), and he apologized. The only thing he offered was to let us come by the front desk and take things from the sundries shop! Maybe his manager doesn't give him any more leeway than that, but it was kind of a strange offer. We would never stay here again. At $118 a night (group rate), it was a total ripoff. We stayed at a much nicer hotel a month ago, got the room on Priceline, and it was about $40 less.

"Bad Service, Unsafe Hotel"

I stayed in this hotel only for two nights. During the second day there was a man trying to open the rooms, the man was acting in a very suspicious attitude, the hotel feel very unsafe. when I asked when I returned at night nobody know about it. When we arrived to our room, the room was not clean, the person in charge of the front desk argued we left ¨don´t disturb¨tag at the door when that was not true. During the morning the person that was cleaning the rooms saw us leaving the room and we told her we were ready to leave . I went to the front desk to do a claim and the person in charge only offered a bag of chips. I paid two nights for a very bad service. Rooms are also very noisy. I has been a very good customer for Best Western through Expedia but this time the stay and service was very disappointing.

The Front desk staff at this hotel is great! Had a confirmed 3-night stay but arrived to find the online booking company had only processed for one night (apparently we chose a high demand week). Front Office Manager Amy helped us locate another hotel for the rest of our stay, all lobby staff were gracious and friendly, helping with suggestions and transportation to downtown. Room was great, self-serve breakfast good, inviting lounge area and small bar.

"Updated hotel - great job"

You can tell the hotel was updated and they did a great job. The rooms are smaller because it is an older hotel, but the renovation turned out great. Beds and hotel decor was good and comfortable. The bathroom was small and there was a little wear on the tub and shower, but didn't deter from the overall experience. The breakfast was good, seemed to have real eggs on the buffet! All 4 of us thought the stay was great and got the room for $89 on a Friday night. It's at the corner of 290 and 35, but felt safe and would be comfortable with my family, with 2 little ones, staying here.

Used more than three times in the past two months for work travel. Always a great experience, large, quiet, clean rooms. Front desk is amicable and friendly, and check in is a breeze. Only down turn is vending machine (water bottles) are in the first floor and not on every floor. Business center is equipped with computers, scanners and printers which came in super handy last month during a last meeting report update. Rooms are accessible and non-smoking. Your stay includes breakfast that includes full satisfying and tasty morning meal.

"Business Traveler"

I have stayed at this hotel previously for work. It's clean, convenient and friendly. It's newly remodeled as of this year and it shows! I hate bugs and no bugs in sight! Hot shower, cold room ( because I made it cold and I like it that way!) made it the perfect stay for me both times. They have complimentary HH til 7pm for guests everyday and I really enjoyed that. Check in was friendly, accommodating, and easy! I will stay here again the next time I come to Austin. Also, I forgot to mention, FREE HOT BREAKFAST! And it was good too! To some of the other reviews about the hotel parties, no matter what hotel you stay at, you could experience the same thing there too. I've stayed at the Four Seasons downtown and had a ton of noise from a Gala and wedding that was taking place there...and it cost me WAY MORE! So, I'd recommend staying here. Great for the cost, close to the major highways, 10 mins from UT campus, and Seton Heart Hospital.

For what I got I paid way too much I there's a motel 6 two blocks down that is half the price and has the same gratitude you will get here the lobby is nice and they have a good breakfast but the cost is way to high and the front desk is not so friendly

"Comfy beds will not be checking back in."

The hotel was clean and the beds were comfy the pillows were the best part of it all. My kids did use the pool even though we did go early this March it was warm enough they were able to use the pool for an hour. That part was good. Check in was quick and easy and we were able to check in about 30 mins early with no problem and no wait. The front desk was nice. We did not get much sleep both nights we were there. There was parties both night we were there. On the last night we were there cops had to come and stop one party. At one point on the second night my husband got up and check the door people were banging so loud on the door across the hall it sounded like someone was hitting our door. I did not like that when we would leave our room to go out and used the side entrance by the pool there was people hanging our waiting to get into the door since you had to use your key card if you were a guest there you would have of course. I got to the point we started to go out the front, I did not let anyone in when I would go out the side entrance. I had my family with me and I would not recommend going with your family. If you wan to party than this is the hotel for you.

We are so sorry to hear that your stay was less than what you expected for a relaxing family weekend. We do understand your disappointment and trepidation to return given the events you encountered. Unfortunately, your stay coincided with the South by Southwest music Festival. Most of the hotels during this time frame are at full capacity. We always take great measures to assure the safety and comfort of our guests. Extra security was on hand as well as additional staff to assure our guests' stay are without issue. The hotel also has security cameras to maximize safety on the property. We do apologize for the mid-night disturbances that your husband tended to. We would have gladly sent staff up to resolve any noise issue. Our front desk staff is there day and night to tend to all needs, especially in a difficult situation like the one you encountered. We are happy that you were able to enjoy some of the amenities that our hotel has to offer. Very nice clean hotel, very much value for money. The breakfest was one of the best I have had at a BW, lots of choices. Location is double edged sword, easy to get to off the freeway but a bit out of the down core but nothing too bad with a vehicle. Overall, great little hotel.
