Resumen de la reserva
The room was very spacious for a jacuzzi suite. Also the room was super clean and we'll upkept for a older property would definitely recommend if your driving 75 and need to rest for the evening they have everything you need all under one roof from your room to a pool to a revamped bar/restaurant
This is a very tired and worn down property. Poorly lit rooms, a bit of mold, quite run down - needs an investment in updating to be considered for another stay. If you have difficulty walking or are in any way disabled, handicapped parking was a long ways from where our room was. Also, the hotel apparently allows for heir boating Customers to park on their walkways.
book 3 days) first day fridge did not work, was told they didnt have another fridge, room was dusty old fashion tubb very slippery toilet low to floor very old, saw 2 spiders 2nd day no fridge, no maid service i ask front desk talk to katie she said she had no answer on maid or fridge, never said am sorry nothing, so i ask to be move on sunday evening she did, but rooms are old need updating better maids no coffee in room or soaps, saw alot of spider webs on cielings, dust on all lamps top of fridge, curtains, not worth the money they charge, but monday sarha was nice enough to refund 1 day back, but it should been 2 days it was a nightmare dealing with katie no skills with people, came from mo to see my mother at nursing home for her birthday alot of food spoil due to no fridge 2 days...nothing but a headace. Was happy to be out of there.
Upon arriving, the property does look old (1970's?), BUT the inside is updated& spotless! So glad I took the chance & booked! Free parking & 1/3 the $ of hotels downtown for the ball games with only a 20 min drive with food rt down the st& 24hr circle K next door. Easy on/off interstate. This is a quiet & safe area in which to stay. We chose to park in the back of the property where there is a new Holiday Inn (~$70 more) bc their parking is in “front” of their entrance & is very well lit, which is connected to the back of the BW property(has entrance door) Lobby: free 24/7 coffee machine, water & cookies. Few chairs, sofa & tv with a side hall with more seating & computers Restaurant: open for breakfast 6-10 am $8=2 eggs, choice of meat, hash browns, toast & coffee. Room: has microwave, frig with freezer, coffee maker, NICE chair w/ ottoman. Bathroom: has large bar of body soap, 2 small soaps, bottles of shampoo & conditioner. The good pics on TA are true! We were able to check in ~1hr early. & I feel like if we arrived earlier, the lady would have let us, but it would have been on the 2nd floor prob(there are only 2 floors-NO elev) Very pleasantly surprised by this older BW! Well done! I would def stay again & I hope it lives on for many years to come❤️
Another excellent stay at the Best Western Woodhaven! They have the nicest folks there, from the front desk and maids to the restaurant and the bar! Great food, too! Have not tried them, but the pool and sauna look great, too! Gonna use them next time I stay.
I stayed here for a night while my truck was being worked on and it was a decent yet dated hotel. The room was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were very lumpy. There was a micro fridge, microwave, and flatscreen TV. Strangely, there was a bottle opener on the bathroom door frame. There is a guest laundry room, indoor pool, sauna, and on site restaurant. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. There also is plenty of truck parking here as well.
Place was great great! Front desk always one there to help or answer questions. rooms SUPER clean! Close to freeway, would highly recommend staying here. Don't understand where the sub par reviews came from??
The Bar & Restaurant staff & food were amazing. They seemed to only staff 1-bartender at night, who did an amazing job with the guests. Food far exceeded expectations. Front desk staff, not so much. Had to ask to have my room cleaned and fresh towels. Was told they were short-staffed and they would try to get my room cleaned. On my last night, my room smelled like week. When I called the front desk I was told I could move rooms, but thats all they could do. I said, no...I am not going to be inconvenienced because another guest is breaking your rules. Was met with immediate attitude and ended with, well I will see if security will figure it out when they come in. Not acceptable!
Every time I stay it's a great stay for me and my family we will always come back to stay at this hotel. We have relocated here to Michigan this is our new home we love this place so much. Nice people
Microwave & fridge were not working. Toilet pressure was weak and flow seemed restricted (we eventually had to ask for a plunger). No complimentary breakfast was provided (should have stayed across the street and the same price). I had to walk around a bit to find a vending machine in working order, and prices seemed high. Seemed to still have a lot of "pandemic procedures" signs around, so maybe they are still operating under pandemic conditions (or excuses)?
The only problem I had was people running down the hall above me. The first time I called the front desk was around midnight and asked them if they could do something about it. She advised me security was already on their way up there. It didn't stop. Hopefully next time I will have a better experience.
Our quilting group comes here for 3 days every year and every year is fantastic! The staff is top notch, the food is great and the conference room and our hotel rooms are always clean and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this Best Western!
Issues with the operational issues within the room. Such as, fridge did not work, light switches not working, outlets around the bed did not work. Staff was friendly but everything else was rough in terms of cleanliness and operationally.
A team trip for sports. The bathrooms need updating. The room numbers don't make any sense and is a safety hazard. The place is a maze and took extra time to find our room and couldn't find our friends rooms.
I'm first of we was actually staying with family from Wednesday through Saturday night at 7pm we checked in it was pretty easy I had booked on there site, the room smells clean, bed sheets and pillows was cleaned and comfortable, all appliances was working bathroom clean, toilet work good and hot water which a plus…
Cuz boyy were they dirty!! Morning staff and the manager were one in the same! Rude and hoytee toytee! Rooms were excellent as far as cleanliness. Cleaning staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable during our staff. The maintenance man is a bit creepy tho. Over it was ok but definitely watch your points and rates. They will get cha!
I stayed in this hotel for one night and had a good experience with the location, employees, and the room itself. Both women I encountered at the front desk were very efficient and polite. Both check in and check out were super quick and they answered all the questions I had. My room was a single king bed with a small tv and a desk. The bathroom was mostly clean, except the shower looked like it may not have been wiped down and the carpet in the room had some odd stains on it, but honestly, that's to be expected at any hotel. The bed sheets smelled clean, a little like bleach and detergent, so I felt safe snuggling up in them. The air unit worked just fine and it was pretty quiet, minus the sound of a door slamming down the hall every once in a while. The hotel itself looks a little run down, especially compared to the Holiday Inn behind it, but it looks as if it was converted into a Best Western from some old motel, so the outside looks odd, but the rooms are the standard in every BW I've stayed at. The location is good too. Woodhaven is a very pretty little city and it has lots of options for food.
we tried to rent a room, but bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible even though we weir told the room was. Also, the room offered #257 was way far away from lobby that had the only wheelchair ramp for an exit. every other exit had steps.
Last leg of my vaca ...........I choose my last Best Western as I had been staying in them while traveling for 8 days. I get to my home state & hit bottom. Checking in was o.k. but my room was DIRTY! Everything was unplugged, no supplies, its as if this room had been ransacked & unused for awhile. SOLUTION: Went to the desk, asked for cleaning supplies & cups & bags & everything I was out of & went back to my room & gave it a good cleaning so I could be comfortable. The toilet seat had poop on it!!!! Yes I could have asked for a different room but how do I know the standards will be any different??? After my housework was done & the place put back together, I enjoyed the pool, had my drink with ICE( since it took a couple of hours for the fridge to cool down.) T.V. & internet was great, the room was quiet, the bed was good. I was given a coupon for $$ off my dinner & breakfast as they have a dining room on site. I was just too tired to argue or move my stuff again, as I had driven many miles. Other than my complaint, I settled in for the night & all was well. Breakfast was made to order & very good. Would I return .......NOPE, but this is why we review to let others make their own decisions. One bad apple in the barrel during my entire vacation. I am a Best Western member and had stayed in many throughout 5 states. MY MESSAGE IS FOR DAVID BALCH, GENERAL MANAGER: YOU OWE ME FOR 1/2 HOUR OF WORK BASED ON THE GOING RATE OF WHAT YOU PAY YOUR HOUSEKEEPING STAFF. MY INFO IS ON FILE - For what you charge for the night, I should NOT have to clean my own room! #235.
I am not thrilled, the hotel and facility was just blah. Old out dated and overpriced. The room was dusty and perhaps even moldy. I had trouble breathing all night. The air conditioning was not good. Ive stayed at worse places then this but I will not be returning to this hotel next time I'm in town.
Was not impressed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel. There was a fresh blood stain on the duvet that they changed the sheets around. It was so damp and musty smelling I went and bought febreeze just to manage getting through the night. Dusty head boards, moldy showers, and crusty floors and vanities. Do not recommend.
Great experience with our 1st and 2nd fishing trip of the year! Being able to plug in our boat to recharge the batteries, security in the parking lot made us feel safe about leaving our boat, truck and equipment. Fish cleaning area is nice to have available also.
We were there on a fishing trip. Room was adequate…parking was better than average for people with boats. Fish cleaning are was a huge asset. A couple of small improvements and this place would be excellent!
No towels , NWT fish tournament participants very bad behavior, not all but a lot . The motel should assign one parking spot per room for the tournament guys Brown water came out of taps, they did not clean our room in 3 days .
When I made my reservation at this location, I made it specifically due to the availability of a jacuzzi/whirlpool suite AND the indoor swimming pool. I didn't find out until check-in that this hotel's pool was under renovation. That put a huge damper on my experience. The suite was spacious and generally clean, but there was mold on the bathroom walls and ceiling. The freezer, on its highest setting did not keep my ice cream cold; basically turned to a milkshake overnight. The staff were cordial, but did not communicate hotel policies around housekeeping upon my arrival. I haven't been to a hotel since before the pandemic began, so I was unaware that room make-up/cleaning services were not available and had to walk all the way to the front desk to get a refill on towels (my suite was literally on the opposite end of the front desk and there are a lot of twists and turns). I have a handicap, but shouldn't need to disclose that in order to get a proper overview on policy and services. When I complained about it, I was simply told that it was posted at the desk. Staff should treat each guest as if they've never stayed in a hotel before and inform them thoroughly on critical changes in service. This was supposed to be a mommy and birthday getaway for me, but I didn't get the full relaxation I expected since I had to clean my own room and no one could even bother to simply bring towels to the me. Disappointing
At first glance I was a little skeptical about the hotel. It's a little dated on the outside but I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the building. It was very clean & up to date. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. The hallways were clean & smelled fresh. I was also surprised by the room. I am a stickler for cleanliness, bringing Lysol & paper towels. The room was clean, airy & fresh smelling. The fridge & microwave were also clean. Sometimes you see dust in the corners. Not here. The water was always hot & the shower &af a strong water flow. As far as the surroundings - there are is a wonderful variety of restaurants & stores very close by.
Just got into a room…booked first floor, husband is disabled , no elevator….room would not be ready until 5 pm at best…so we lugged our things to a send floor room…several trips….bags of garbage all along hallway, garbage outside entrance door, no working phone. Could go on . The real problem is lack of employees, the ones working are doing the job of more than one person. NO BREAKFAST…apparently none on Sunday to monday…lol…..no discount .We are diamond elite..have been staying in best westerns since Jan 27…now feb 27…..needs better management and care for guests.
My family and I all share the same love for best western hotels. We host majority of our celebrations at the many locations. I'm in a best western room as I type. Thank you for a refreshing and welcoming experience each time.
Enjoyed the Pool and sauna. Bar and grill very nice with good food. I had a good time at the All American Grill that's inside the Best Western the Barmaid Natalie is awesome and everyone so nice and friendly.
Horrible, as soon as we pulled up I knew I made a mistake in booking but I feel the Best Western website should pictures that did not represent this hotel. This motel was gungy and depressing on the outside and we felt depressed the whole stay, the door to access the hall was broken so the people staying there would put a rock in the door to keep it open, we went to use the pool and it was NOT heated as stated, it was freezing, must of been at least 70 or below. My son and I were so disappointment in this stay, the worst part was staring out of our room to the beautiful Holiday Inn across the road... If we would of stayed one more night I would of sucked up $110.00 and went to the Holiday Inn. Restaurant was closed the whole time, we partially booked there because there was a restaurant on site. Staff was OK, she let us stay a bit linger in the morning as I had a meeting.
Beautiful suite very clean and comfortable and the front desk clerk was very helpful the pool was beautiful the room was very peaceful I really enjoyed my stay I would recommend you to stay here if you're traveling and just want peace of mind
There's no elevator in hotel, but told some are going to be put in. There's a restaurant to buy food and a full bar if you need a drink. The lighting in the room and bathroom could be better. The exhaust fan could be upgraded so you don't have to use a towel to wipe off the mirror.
I just never stay any place else when in town. Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Shower and commode separate from vanity area making it more efficient. Plenty of in room coffee choices (I love that!!!). Staff friendly and responsive. Pool and sauna GREAT! Wouldn't mind a hot tub but not if it increases the price as the price if VERY reasonable. Right by the expressway but I didn't notice any road noise. Lots of shopping and dining nearby. Great place to stay!
Dead bed bugs in room They obvious had a previous infestation that was handled just not cleaned. Barely luke warm water & over charged for multinight stay. Staff was uninterested in fixing bill. And acted like they didn't know they had a previous problem. Shady.
We booked a three night stay at this property to attend various family & friend functions nearby. It was a miserable experience. NO ELEVATOR. There was an apparent odor in the stairwell, hallway, and perimeter of the room … whether it was carpet cleaner or disinfectant, it resembled a brand of bug spray! That odor was so strong and offensive behind our headboard I couldn't sleep the first night. The following nights I slept with my head at the foot of the bed. Toilet would barely flush, refrigerator buzzed loudly, leaky sink faucet, A/C was a 747 engine when cycling on & off, deafening exhaust fan in bathroom, baseboards came unglued from wall, old carpeting. Sorry—but nasty is the primary word that comes to mind based on the experience in our room. Breakfast was not included—restaurant next door—we didn't eat there.
The staff was very friendly and awesome! The decor in the room nice. Would recommend to anyone that would be in that area. They have a gorgeous pool area. The restaurant that was in the hotel the food was awesome!
A very comfortable and clean motel. However, room furnishings and decor are dated and worn. Noisy HVAC system in our last 2 rooms here. I'd staqy there again, but I would check my assigned room before agreeing to it for the night.
Staff is friendly and rooms were clean. Nice pool but no hot tub. Only negative was the restaurant bar was closed during our stay so we had to go off site for coffee and food. The room rates are decent for this hotel.
Not too bad some rooms are pretty okay while others are just disgusting so just keep your fingers crossed that you get a good room. There are some really sweet workers but there is one worker at the front that is extremely rude with a terrible attitude.
This hotel was perfect for us because we would leave around 8-10AM every morning and wouldn't be back at the hotel until midnight most days. Great hotel for the area and price. Outside appearance of the hotel could use work. Woodhaven is a nice area so it's a shame that the hotel looks a little rundown on the outside.
booked online, checked in got into the room one of the beds were not made obviously slept in not sanitized there were old pop cans from prior guests and some type of liquid in the fridge smh like i told them i could have stayed at home if i wanted to clean and sanitize my own room and make my own bed it was kind of ridiculous
The size of the pool it way bigger than most hotels and stays open until 11pm. Very close to Walmart Meijers and lots of other stores. The park is about 3 mins away. Your right next to a gas station so it's really convenient!
On arrival, we were met with a smile and very pleasant check in experience. Our room was clean, good sized, and all appliances worked properly. The stay was great as it was quiet and we were able to get a good rest. In the morning, we went to the inn restaurant for breakfast and it was great; the food, staff, presentation, and temperature were perfect. The food was a bit more expensive than fast food but was well worth it as one could taste the difference. The only thing I think could make a better impression is an area designated for truck parking as many trucks were trying to park where they could, but all the drivers were very considerate and quiet. We look forward to returning when we are back in the area.
The decor might not be the latest up to datest but the room was clean, well lit, and had great ammenities! The pool was beautiful and while I didn't have an opportunity to use the sauna I did peek in and it was most inviting! The restaurant was very convenient and the food was just fine! The in room fridge, microwave and safe were great! And - I find in room coffee less and less frequently - there was an ample supply in the room! The staff were so kind and helpful! The kind lady at check in (I think her name was Maureen) was just what I needed arriving exhausted and EARLY she arranged for an immediate check in and couldn't have been kinder! Within minutes of arrival I absent mindedly locked myself out and the housekeeping staff was quick and understanding while assisting me! Though I stayed on the freeway side of the hotel I had no notice of outside noise. The in room AC was Excellent, better than home! I really can't say enough good about the place - really outstanding! Though Detroit is not my favorite destination, family happily will necessitate return trips and I wont have to think at all about where I will stay!
the young lady who checjed me in and out was a beautiful spirit. but this place gave me short stay vibes, the room wasnt inviting and i am convinced that all best western rooms have an odor be in or out of state. the room was spot cleaned not like it shouldve been. i ended up cleaning it myself thank goodness i brought clorox disinfectant wipes and spray to clean it myself. the tub had some spots that you can tell werent clean and the jacuzzi after wiping it down yuck... i had to go buy a glade plug in for the odor, couldnt switch my room because there were no more rooms available that were jacuzzi. had to call the office from my phone, because though plugged up the phone didnt work. for the price i paid again i guess you get what you pay for... lets hope the next best western i stay at this is the( 2nd within 2 months) that theres no odor and not a short stay vibe
We stay at this hotel whenever we visit the downriver/Detroit area. it is close to I-75 and only 20 minutes from Greektown, and minutes from other Downriver destinations (Wyandotte, Trenton, etc). rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, the pool is available and many options for entry close to rooms.
This was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. Very dirty and ghetto and they charge 149.00 for the king suit thats what we got there was people drinking beer and liquor sitting outside the windows of their rooms bbq. They didn't have sheets on the second bed or extra pillows the walls were so water damaged that it was bulging out the walls the room was disgusting and wasn't the cleanest. Before i booked the room i requested a crib 3 hours before check in time and there was no crib in our room when i asked the desk clerk she said she didn't have anyone to take it for me and i was on the third floor with two babies that had to sleep in my bed with me because there was no access to a crib. The room also had mold that i noticed prior of checking out and im pretty sure there was mold behind the walls that was bulging out from water damage the room looked very old like nothings every been updated they did have a flat screen tv and staff was friendly but not helpful and i heard they updated this best western i think it was only the bar area when i posted the pictures on fb people were as shocked as i was. If your looking for a quick lay and party all night this is the place for you i would not recommend it to a family the partying went on all night it was so loud woke my babies up at 330am you won't get any sleep here and we had no choice but to stay here because we had a gas leak in our home and was waiting on a dte tech to come out and fix it and every where was booked. The wall paper was peeling off the walls they were alot of damages in room that look like it due to never being updated since they opened up
The wifey and I finally got away and this hotel was a very good choice to stay at. We did run into a minor issue with the Jacuzzi but they took great care of the issue when they could. The pool was also great and the price, perfect!! Stay here if you can!
This was a nice little get away. Had the lounge been open longer it would have been better, but covid. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Pool are looked clean and inviting. Room was clean and detailed.
The hotel provided me with a quiet place to rest. The communication with the staff was friendly and clear. I'm happy with my stay at this hotel. The room had everything I needed including reliable internet.
We had booked the room online for our 6 night stay in the area. Desk staff at checkin was rude and wanted to argue that we had a reservation. Finally she finds it and checks us in. Told it was a nonsmoking hotel (we dont smoke). I am allergic to pot smoke and the entire hallway smells of pot use. We were given a bottom floor room but not what we had wanted. Wanted 2 beds got 1. Was told only thing they had. We checked in on a Monday night. Booked the hotel since it says they have room service. Even the informational flyer in the room (which I took a picture of with the hotel name and address on) states they have room service. Went to the restaurant to get a menu and was told they have never had room service. Pool, spa and weight room closed but no mention of this when booking online. Room is cold and most of the plugs dont work. Would not recommend to anyone. Also very noisy.
After a long day on the water its nice to have a good, clean room to go back to. Only downside was people would unplug our extension chords at night which is no bueno when your on a rough water lake. Thanks
Wanted to get away for some rest for my birthday, I actually love this Best Western because it is quiet and I always get some peace! I celebrated early in the day with a few family members, then came here to stay the weekend. The Front Desk Clerks are always helpful and nice & also the Housekeeping staff.. I also enjoy the perks that come with staying, like getting free rooms, etc..
We had an issue with noisy guests. They brought in friends from outside. They were loud, in and out slamming doors. It did not calm down. I called front desk at 1:30 am. By the time security came, they had left, but came back. I called again at 2:00 am. Security cleared them out in a timely manner after that. There was a fisherman's tournament, but they were not the problem.
awful. Granddaughter slept on floor 2nd night it was so bad. But the pool was great. Was there for bowling regionals for high school. Would stay there again. Bar staff was great. Had a fun time singing.
Check in was fast, we got our room an hour early. The hot tube was amazing, it was a great overnight getaway for under $170. We where able to eat at the hotel restaurant and walk to nearby fast food and other restaurants in the area easily.
Worst service and stay housekeeping and front desk was rude doors were broke and don't lock letting anyone enter the building a lot of drug activity going on and young kids hanging in the hallways and my car was damaged someone cut my catalyic converter off my car and no security was on duty
A wind storm knocked out power to 60k homes on Thanksgiving Eve. It was cold, rainy and the wind was insane. As temperatures began to plummet it became clear to us that we needed to find shelter for the night. Best Western had the best rate for adjoining rooms. The rooms were clean and warm. The amenities included coffee, tea, microwave, and mini fridge. The beds were nice and firm. The bathroom was incredibly cold and the heat lamp was ofno help. All in all we had a nice restful night.
Nice hotel, nice rooms, nice pool area, no Jacuzzi, no continental Breakfast, you get a $3 voucher for the hotel restaurant, very lackluster, food was mostly cold, better off going out, didn't try the dinner menu, possibly better
The hotel is located in an out of the way location and can be difficult to see on your first visit. The signage has been improved ad that helps. Check-in was easy, and our check-in person put us on the top floor away from the traffic sounds and FAR from the ice machine...we appreciate the quietness! We were here for our 3rd time as we were attending an ice hockey tournament, and this hotel is centrally located under 10 minutes from all of the arenas.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights. We had a ground floor room, with the parking spaces being close to the hotel. On the first night, there were multiple people in a pickup smoking weed and playing loud music till 11PM. On the second night, the occupants in the room next to us were partying and playing loud music all night. Finally called the front desk at 2:30AM and they called the room telling them they needed to be quieter. The music stopped but they continued to party to 5:30am. The evening desk manager had been told by the day manager that there could be issues with that group, so why didn't they give them a room away from other guests? The hotel has 123 rooms, and many were unoccupied. Never had housekeeping clean our room during our stay (this was a first). Would not recommend staying at this location.
This was the first time we have stayed at this hotel. It far exceeded our expectations. The room was large and clean. Really quiet as well. Close to the highway as well. The decor was modern and comfortable. It was a great value
People partying outside my room all night and when I told the woman at the front desk she was rude and argued with me that there was no way somebody would be outside cooking and drinking in the cold outside my room window. There's no continental breakfast. they give you $3 off coupons to eat at the restaurant but you have to order at least a $10 item to get the $3 off. The wait staff was more interested in watching TV than making sure I was getting what I needed. My coffee went unfilled the entire time I set for breakfast. I ordered a skillet with eggs over easy and rye toast. I got white toast and eggs cooked straight through. When I said something to the waitress she argued with me about it and told me the eggs were fine and then it was right host even though it was plainly White. She argued with me instead of trying to make it right. My toilet didn't flush properly and the tank would not fill properly. Pieces of the trim ring around the shower knob were missing. The accessible power outlets in my room didn't function properly. There were no trash cans in my room.
It was the wifes birthday and wanted to show her my appreciation and love so I got the whirlpool suite to surprise her. With some drinks the whirlpool and shutting our phone's off it was very enjoyable and relaxing
Breakfast was too expensive, even with the coupon they give you. Front desk staff were not very friendly. Cleaning staff was horrible. They wouldn't make our bed or vacuum. Our sink was never cleaned. The only thing they did was empty our trash and give us towels. One day they just hung the towels on the door. Didn't even come in and hang them up. I stay in this area often but won't stay here again. I will check out the Holiday Inn Express next door next time.
Closest Best Western to Detroit Airport listed. about 10-12 miles. Clean average sized room. Bathroom layout was unusual in that the door had no built in jambs and opened without a check and banged into the toilet roll holder and the light switch. The largest hassle was that there a fishing tournament going on there were boats and trailers backed up to the building over the grass and walkways. It made accessing the side door with luggage to the room difficult. Parking was a hassle trying to maneuver in around the boats and pickups. The boaters were polite and not at all loud congregating outside by the boats. Overall it was the good stay.
Very sad stay went just to get out of are house for a relaxing night with the husband in a jacuzzi and dinner and it was not a good stay! I can't say I'll go back they did not Comp me a free stay for my room or dinner did nothing for us and we was up all night with THe Noise
Checkout time is at 12:00p which is perfect except, you hear housekeep knocking on everyones door yelling "Housekeeping" at 10:00a. That's a whole two hours of missed sleep!! They need a system where they would know if a person had already ckecked out.
We were in town for a graduation party and wanted a room that was close to the banquet hall, and we were very happy with our choice to stay here. Check in was quick with no issues, we were provided a internet pass code, food coupon and pool code number. Room was clean, well maintained no excessive noise, our room had a Fridge, and Microwave with everything in working order.
Yaya this isn't one of the best Best Westerns. I am a point member so it helps in the long run. We decided to get a room to get out of the semi for a nite. They have truck parking around back. That's nice. I asked for a two Queen bed room no waiting. Beds were good but high. Tv good , bathroom ok. It did have clothes rack and sink in a before toilet/shower room. Shower didn't really work well. It did drain tho. Water continued to come out of the spout while shower head on.. sucky. So not a lot of pressure. Toilet seat was the old style round seat. The room was clean and the carpet good. Coffee was good and plenty. One thing to note tho is that u have to turn on a switch to make fridge work by the tv. That's ok cause they are being energy efficient. May come again not sure.
Very accommodating to fisherman. Close to the Detroit river (Elizabeth park)and Lake erie(Sterling state park). They have a fish cleaning station and the restaurant opens early for breakfast to get you on the river early. great parking for boats and they have security for the parking lot, so no worries about the boat.
we love this place we will be coming back!!!! we had my daughters 13th bday here we had 3 rooms all together even with all the fisherman here they were very accommodating!! my kids loved that the suite was adjoining with their other room so they didn't have to leave out of the room
The accomodations are very nice, beds are extremely comfortable, we had a well working fridge and microwave and a nice TV. The staff--ALL of the staff--are the nicest people! Check in and check out was quick, food at the restaurant was VERY good, and the waitstaff was great! A very nice visit!
Everyone did everything to make my stay very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Service in the restaurant was great. We were there for a quilt retreat and we were taken very good care of.
The property is slightly hidden off the road but once you find it, you'll be happy. I was pleased with all the friendly staff, clean room, pool & amenities. Nicole & Sarah in the bar and restaurant were very nice & helpful. There was always fresh coffee and cookies in the lobby! The room seemed newer with a very comfy bed. The washroom area didn't seem to be remodeled, though. I would stay here again next time I'm in Woodhaven!
Overall it was a good stay. While I didn't use many of the amenities or really explore the options much, what I used I'd say was pretty standard. The only issues I had was it was really noisy in what sounded like the room above mine, but I believe they were remodeling and I feel it's not right getting after them for trying to make improvements or fix problems.
They are in the process of remodeling. The room I am in is very nice; definitely one of the remodeled rooms. The hallways are a bit scary. Old carpet, peeling wallpaper. And I am not sure why they even have luggage carts because all of the doors have a 4-5" step. So I had to carry my luggage from the car to the hotel, put it on a cart and then go to my room. Not very helpful. Not sure I would choose to say here again. Also, they vacuum the hallways in the late evening so if you need to sleep, good luck. And we had a few nights with loud people running down the halls and knocking on doors at all hours of the night. Not a restful place.
Still here unfortunately. WiFi doesn't work. Waiting for call back from technical support, Javier, as no onsite support. Do not believe updated in 2018. It is planning to update in 2018. Old, dingy, out-dated, non-working WiFi with nice looking Holiday Inn across the parking lot. Guess I'll have to walk over to HI to check my email. LOL, I'm Spire status. What was I thinking?
The room is fairly clean but could use some updating. The beds are comfortable. There is no breakfast and they take away the coffee after the restaurant opens. The outside could be kept a lot cleaner.
I stay at this hotel quite often most of time 2 or 3 times a week, all front desk staff are awesome very polite and kind they also have a bar if u like to drink, hotel is very big with plenty of rooms that are very clean and well made up thanks to their great housekeepers, also has indoor pool and sauna.. i drive a car hauler loaded with cars alot and also ride my own personal harley to this hotel i can go to my room and rest assured that tom the security guard has an eye on my harley or truckload of cars and has my back if i ever needed him they keep tom on duty all night every night really nice to know security is watching over the place, because this place has a bar tom has his hands full some nights and some cant handle drinking and raise hell with him over just doing his job calling him names or saying he is racist all because ppl cant have their way, i assure u i been around him, talked to him, he is far from racist just security doing a great job, i highly reccomend this hotel and everyone that works here they are almost like family at my home away from home !
Great staff, restaurant has good food and nice size portions. Beef stirfry and fried mushrooms were excellent . Pool is big. Rooms are recently renovated and are quiet with very comfortable bed. Definitely coming back
We stayed here a couple of years ago and the place was getting outdated. To my surprise the interior had been renovated. Rooms were modern and nice! The room rate was really good too!! The exterior looks old but I personally care more about my room the outer presentation of the hotel.
Stayed here for one night on the way to see an Indians/Tigers game. It was right off of I-75, so I thought it would be a good place to spend the night after the game. Cost was over $150, so not cheap. Unfortunately (and not the fault of the Best Western), I-75 has SIGNIFICANT road work, such that parts of the freeway are CLOSED, in BOTH directions. I told the front desk clerk that we were going to the game and her reply was to "just Google it", no real attempt to help us navigate the best way there, or back to the motel after the game. The room was basically clean, but not in the best shape, the fridge and microwave were turned off, had to figure out that there is a switch on the light that needed turned on before they would work. There must have been a biker convention nearby (again, not their fault other than they had about 50 or so bikers there, so firing up a bike at 3 and 4am definitely wakes me up). Ate at the restaurant, I think there was only one wait staff serving the whole place, she did a good job, but could have used some help. Food was good, service was good, so that was fine. Breakfast was about $23 for 3 adults, pretty normal. The hotel said it was a "non smoking" facility, but they have the ashtray garbage cans right outside the hallway door, so all that smoke just ends up in the hall, it was pretty strong. Room didn't smell like smoke though, thankfully. This was less money that some of the other chains, but the rooms are pretty dated. If you are just needing a place to sleep, it's ok, if you want something a little more current, you may want to go somewhere else.
We have stayed at this place twice a year in our travels since Oct 2011. Unfortunately they have change their policy to no pets. If you don't have pets (we have a cat) it is a great place to stay, as there is an onsite restaurant and other restaurants nearby. Refueling at the gas station next door is also handy, especially if you are towing a trailer. If you are towing a trailer the parking is excellent as it is designed for semi's.
Stayed here often over the years and have noticed a decline....was a nice place to stay years ago but now its noisey, smelly and just not nice. Smoking is banned but not inforced. Room was damp and sticky. beds seemed to be ok. Hate to say it but ill have to look into Holiday Inn across the street....goodbye Best Western!
Stayed here with my family and we got 4 rooms. Each room had a problem. My aunts room smelt like mold one night after a rain storm the ceiling in front of her room door was leaking so our guess was that the ceiling in her room was wet so that caused the smell. My dads room every time he turned on the hot water in the shower the pipes in the wall would shake and make a really loud noise. My brothers room the ac would not get cold. My room did not get hot water. We are not the family to complain so we left it alone and just decided to deal with it. The internet sucked. The staff were really nice and the rooms were nice and comfy. This is my second time staying here and I will say it again like in my first review this could be such a better hotel if they would keep up with routine maintenance. I must give a shout out to the security guard, i brought home some food from a restaurant and they did not pack any fork or knife so he went out of his way to find one for me. I will be staying here again but hopefully next time they will have every thing together.
The hotel was very inviting. The customer service was one, I will never forget. The food was amazing and the staff was just down right nice. I encourage you to come by and check them out. I decide to come back next.
DO NOT stay in this disgusting hotel! My husband, ever the optimistic guy, said each new discovery we made at this establishment wasn't that bad, let's try and make the best of it, it only got worse and worse and worse to the point of ruining our 10th anniversary. We came to here instead of Belamare Suites (40 minutes south romantic getaway speciality hotel) because they were the place we stayed on our first wedding night. For 20 dollars more for the night, we could have had an entire private pool without someone's hair ball floating around my most private of parts. We came to this facility to make our 10th wedding anniversary extra special , instead it was extra awful. A quick run down of our "discoveries" & other fun: -the dark brown (I have platinum blond hair and my husband shaves his head) hair balls shooting out from the jacuzzi that were discovered because it was tickling my bottom -the hair and who knows what else that was in the jacuzzi to begin with that led us to clean, drain & scrub it ourselves 3 times - hair and chunks of who knows what on the tables - the 40* bathroom that led to us needing to keep the heat cranked to 90*, weeping walls and resulting wet toilet paper and floor -the various bonus trash? items never vacuumed and left on the floor -the restaurant server not wanting to be bothered to ask the cook if something was gluten-free, but instead said there's probably nothing gluten-free but the steak, and then slapping a piece of garlic bread onto the steak after being told it was a gluten allergy and not a lifestyle choice. -the front desk saying thanks and hanging up when I called immediately after walking into the room to inform them that as non smokers, we were smacked in the face with the disgusting smell with room reeking of cigarette smoke so we would not be charged the $150 fee. -the general manager offering an "I'm sorry, hope you'll try again" upon being made aware of his disgusting facilities and our anniversary ruining experience. An "I'm sorry, please play again" does not rectify anything once it was made known my disgusting experience, it simply salted and irritated a wound and made me ever ready to share my disgust with the facility and its response with the world. I will be describing the awful, never to be repeated, experience on trip advisor, Google reviews, sending a copy to every best Western outlet available and any other social media sites possible, so that others know what they will be getting and not RUIN their 10th wedding anniversary or any other things they may be celebrating. Do yourself a huge favor and stay anywhere else. It will be cheaper and I can almost guarantee immensely cleaner with a much better staff that actually cares about their patrons and the quality of service they receive.
Nice place to stay. It is quiet and clean and close to shopping centers and restaurants. It does not offer free breakfast but has a restaurant. It is also pet friendly. Staff is easy to work with and helpful. Will stay there again.
We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the rooms. The hotel is very old and needs renovations. Our room smelled and the carpet had stains. The bathroom had mold on the tiles. The lighting was extremely poor, especially in the vanity area. It was hard to see. The safe, which requires a key did not have one and we were told the front desk didn't have one either, so it was useless. We had family members in the adjoining room and the smell was worse, but they did have a safe key. My experience with this hotel is poor. I do not recommend the hotel to anyone.
We opened the door to the room WOW ,terrible smell- we had to go to the front desk and get a room refresher can, the carpeting in the room and hallways were soiled, dead bugs in the light fixture in the bathroom (probably still there). No continental breakfast Nothing unles you $$$$ misunderstanding on the billing for the room-I ended up paying what they said ( they had my credit card)I Will not go back there-I will still use BW whenever I travel tho
Check in and check out were easy and quick. The rooms were clean and nice. The pool area was great for family time. The beds in this hotel are so comfortable! They did not spare any expense on the mattresses or the sheet.
Although the bed was comfortable, the room was dated and in poor condition. Likewise with the rest of the hotel. There were no morning amenities (at the very least, coffee). Grounds were poor and on 2 nights the entry used had no exterior or interior lights turned on.
This is a great place to stay. If you are towing anything the parking is excellent. Other than on Sunday, the restaurant in the motel has excellent food. I and my wife have our favorites we now order each stay. We have tried other items on the menu and they have been all good.
Had a great stay at this Best Western. A little hidden from the main street, I wondered about how nice it would be and I was thoroughly pleased with all sights, sounds, smells, decor, staff plus the convenient location!!!
We were there for a wedding so our schedule was hectic. The staff was very accommodating with extra towels and hygiene products even though we did not have them change the sheets. Pool was clean and provided towels easily accessible.
I stay here at least 2 times a year if not 4. I have never had a bad experience. Staff is always amazing, housekeeping is great, have never had a bad stay in 5 years. A lot of close by restaurants and attractions.
The hotel is older and well kept, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. All of the staff I encountered were super nice, helpful and well kept. Great Value for the money. I would stay here again. Right off the freeway easy to get to. Nice pool and Sauna.
too much money for what room is used for on a business trip We had to go get towels form the front desk. No towel or wash clothes were left in our room. Sheets were never changed during our stay. Plastic glasses were not left in our room or fresh shampoo and soap.
The entrance to this BW is hard to see right by gas station, and an entrance for the American Bar and Grill, but that restraurant is part of the hotel. The halls spelled of cleaning products, but the room was beautiful. The cleanliness, beds, refrigerator, was great and no smell in the room. The restraurant had an excellent breakfast with outstanding poached eggs. The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable regarding dietary needs. The staff was friendly.
No real complaints. Just felt that this Best Western lacked some of the comforts a traveller expects. For instance ( and I know this makes me sound picky) there were only 4 small flat pillows on the bed. After the first night we left a note asking for 2 more please. None were left. The next morning, we asked the housekeeping staff if we could possibly get 2 more pillows. She stated we could and she would drop them off. No pillows were left. We bought 2 pillows at Costco. Also, only 2 thin bath towels were provided, and at most other Best Westerns, you would get 4. There is no microwave in the room. However, the staff were very friendly and hotel room was clean. The pool area was a nice bonus and the onsite restaurant is a convenience. There is a room safe included free of charge and it was easy to get to attractions in the Detroit area. Ample parking . I would stay here again anytime !
Everything was pretty much decent as usual except they took their outside outlets away and blocked the outside windows all except maybe a 6 inch opening. As far as I'm concerned they might as well have blocked a fire exit by doing that to the windows which I am waiting for conformation on that from a higher authority. Taking away the outside outlets out was another dumb move I'll be finding another hotel to stay at for the next tournaments along with our club. Steve Weber
The Best Western in Woodhaven has always treated us well. Great Staff with a smile and a warm welcome is always the norm. Great Facility zero issues or complaints. Highly recommend this facility and location for a nights stay.
Loved our stay the hotel was clean roomier than most the pool was awsome nice and clean the bar should have frozen drinks it would be better but it was still ok game room gym pet Freindly overall experience wast great
For the options in the area it was cheaper then the HI next door. Traveled down for a family gathering and was on a budget. The rooms seemed to be recently remodeled and look good. The exterior needs updating.
It was great for the price. If you are fishing Erie or Detroit River, the proximity is great and safe. Good Parking. You want to make sure and bring long electrical cord for power to boat. The fish cleaning station was fine but you will want to bring 3 way plug or power strip-- there is only one power cord.
Very nice. Affordable. Restaurant inside hotel has good food and is affordable also. Clean rooms and halls. Pool is very nice. It does go to 9 feet deep at one end so if you have small children i recommend bringing life jackets just in case. Only complaint would be that the fitness center could use an update in equipment.
Very clean place! Has plugs for fishing boats ! Comfortable beds! Good size rooms! Rooms had refrigerator! Around local restaurants! Clean bathrooms! Staff very friendly and helpful!!! Nice pool! Wish it had a hot tub though! But does have sauna! Breakfast not included but they have a restaurant attached to the hotel ! Also karaoke and a bar !
I normally use a hotel to sleep so I didn't use the quite nice pool. I wish there was the free breakfast. The room was usable and clean. Got my money's worth. Make sure you ask the front desk exactly which of the entrances are closest to your room.
Very dated; needs complete renovation yet is clean and functional hotel in a location that has very little competition in the local area. The staff was very help and friendly doing the best they can with a hotel that saw it's prime many years ago. Would probably stay there again but only because there is one other option within four miles or so.
The pool was nice, very large. The room had plenty of space, beds were super comfy. Restaurant was right on site, convenient for breakfast, lounge looked nice. Doesn't look like much from the outside but don't be fooled. We would definitely stay here next time in Michigan
Very nice staff good food nice place to stay rooms are nice out side look's nice I saty here ever time I come 2 Detroit saty here maybe over 60 tines they have great way to get ponts for free room and other great things
It was New Year's Eve, and I had forgotten to book a room until 2pm. Thankfully, thru TripAdvisor, I quickly found this hotel, and not only booked a room with a bed, but a hot tub suite! My favorite. Check in was smooth and simple, with a friendly face at the front desk. Now we did show up at 2am, there was evidence of quite a party thru the halls, but like I said it was New Year's Eve. Besides that the entrance was clean but the building is older, so not spotless. The room was large, clean, comfortable and quite even with the joyous people in the hallways. We had our two dogs with us, with no problems. Plenty of green space outside for their use. Parking near the doors was tight, but if you don't mind a short walk there is room for trailers or larger trucks. I would definitely stay here again. There is a restaurant attached, but we did not eat there so I can not comment.
I had a business appointment to plan scheduled first thing Monday morning. And, after a long drive to Best Western Woodhaven Inn, I really needed a quiet relaxing place to both relax and prepare. I checked the Internet for motels in the area and after reading several reviews I called Best Western Woodhaven Inn and made my reservation. It was the right choice and I'm very happy. I've used Best Western in the past and they have never disappointed me. Do yourself a big favor and make your reservations at a Best Western any time your away on business or for pleasure.
Okay... I've stayed here a few times over the last couple of years, and usually didn't have a problem with anything. However, there was an anomalous charge on my debit card which shouldn't have been there... When I called the hotel to ask them about it, they told me it was a pre-authorization charge, and the transaction would not go through. I was told by a manager that they didn't charge it but my bank did... Which I knew was a total lie. When I spoke with someone at my bank about that charge, they informed me that they do not charge their card holders for anything like that. Other than that, the rooms are okay... The Wi-Fi has its moments... Drinks in the bar are a bit pricey. The beds are fairly comfortable, but the rooms need some updating... Especially the bathrooms. Considering the manager there blatantly lied to me, I doubt seriously I'll be staying there again.
We stayed one night to visit family nearby. The Best Western was comfortable, clean, and convenient to many local attractions. Although breakfast is not included, a coupon for reduced price is given at check in. Free wifi for guests, indoor pool and game room for the kiddos!
Our room was clean and comfortable. The beds are nice! The staff was very friendly and helpful. That said, this hotel is obviously in need of some upgrading--walls, carpets, floors are beat up, our bath tub was clean, but very old. The exercise room is a joke--1/2 broken stuff from 15 years ago. The pool is nice and the food in the lounge was adequate. Not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here.
Would stay again, worth the price. Have stayed here many times and most say, this time a huge improvement with the housekeeping staff! Our room, was always cleaned, every day, very friendly gals! Only unfriendly people are the front staff, they are always that way!!
We decided to stay for a night near our family and ended up staying two because the hotel was so good. It is a little older but is very clean, has a good restaurant and bar.. Very reasonably priced . I would definitely stay again. Right off I75 in a good location.
I stayed here for 3 days with my dog. I was only suppose to stay one night and every time I needed to stay an extra night they had no problem accommodating me and since I had a pet they kept me in the same room which was perfect because the grass and door were right outside. The ladies at the front were very helpful. The cleaning crew was also great as well especially Karen she was the sweetest, she had no problem cleaning my room with my dog in there, she thought he was cold one night and covered him up with a towel and she even gave him his own blanket to take home cause he was so well behaved and left me little notes. Shelby was also real sweet and cleaned my room with my dog in there. I had a great experience here and would recommended you stay here! Thank you for taking care of us!!!
Stayed here for a wedding and everyone had a different experience. One group had to move because there was smell. Another had to have their sheets changed as there was a stain. Personally, if all you need is a bed, this place will do in a pinch. Our room was clean, but dated. It could do with new furniture, but the bed was comfortable and it was close to where the wedding was taking place.
this hotel needs massive repair & maintenance. smoke terrible in non smoking hotel. animals mixed in with people without pets, & dogs were barking. keep dogs separate buildings from people with out pets. repair broken items in rooms, & keep smokers out & spray rooms for smoke if they did smoke in them. sure needs better up keep by owner.
I was taking my 11-year old grandson to the Henry Ford Museum and this location seemed perfect; it was just off my planned route and 25 minutes closer to my home. The motel was also close to restaurants and shopping centers. The short road leading to the motel was next to a construction site, but that didn't bother us at all. My grandson had an ear infection so we needed to avoid the swimming pool that really looked inviting. I had made the reservation on line, so check in was quick. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, but the A/C unit was a little noisy. Breakfast at the adjoining restaurant was available at a discount, but we skipped that to eat at a Tim Horton's across the street. Because I had recently stayed at a motel (at $170 a night), this Best Western (at <$90) was almost as good, I call it a good value.
Clean room. Comfy bed. Courteous staff. Quiet crowd. Big pool. Affordable restaurant. Not sure what everybody else is complaining about. Yes, they unplug the fridge. Yes, the pool area is locked. Yes, the shower temperature fluctuates a bit. Big deal. At $100/night this place is a good value.
Came down from upper mi for graduation party. Needed a place to stay the night. This was the only reasonable place to stay price wise. Room was clean & neat. Although room has a very strong perfume smell, whether it being a airfreshner or a cleaner smell. It's way to strong!!!! About knocks you over when you open the room door, and smell won't go away with air on. Hotel you can tell is older, could be updated. But not bad. Would stay again
Recent stay was less than pleasant due to the day housekeepers. They tried to clean our room at 9 am and then when I said to come back later they never did. Thankfully the night housekeeper Geneva came in and cleaned our room and made sure we had everything we needed. She is the only saving grace for this hotel this visit. We stay here every year and we may stay someplace else next year. The person at the front desk was more interested in feeding her face than dealing with the housekeeping issue. The next day was not much better. Day housekeeping is very lazy!!!! Again Geneva came to our aid. Will definitely be rethinking our stay for the future.
Hotel was clean , fair priced, clean large room. Next door to a truck stop. Older property , and was close to an industrial district which I was visiting. Food at the hotel was good and the breakfast was reasonable cost wise . Many truckers use this hotel as next door to a truck stop and seemed convenient for them. Off the interstate but having a side entrance .
We stayed here two nights for a wedding in the area. It was a bit hard to get in and out of as they are doing construction and there was a carnival across the street. The price was reasonable and the room was surprisingly quiet even though near the highway and carnival. Breakfast does not come with the room. There is a restaurant attached and you get a voucher for a $4.99 full breakfast including coffee which was very good.
I never stay anywhere else. I stay at this location several times a year, staff is great, amenities are great. Always good to return to see the same staff. Very clean. I will always come back here when in the area.
After checking in we were sent to Door D in the next building. Room key cards did not work, so we trudged back to the desk "Oh, I forgot that the lock on Door D is bad. Use Door C". So we did that. Walking through halls that smelled like an ashtray to the room the first sight was the refrigerator door standing open, and that it was unplugged. Having a cooler full of food to preserve we walked back to the desk. Back at the desk we heard "Oh yeah, we leave them unplugged so the freezer doesn't get frosted up." We got a refund and left.
We had a wonderful time last night! The room was large and comfortable, pool was beautiful, bed was great, shower pressure good, restaurant was great! Truck parking! Would definitely return or recommend this hotel to friends!
Our stay was good. We had a few issues but they took care of them promptly. We picked this hotel because of the restaurant/bar. Big mistake. The food we ordered was dried out and in general nasty. We stayed in a suite and loved the room and the space. We will stay here again but we wont be eating in the hotel.
You don't have a lot of options in this area of Downriver. Sadly, this hotel isn't the worst. I only stay here when I'm travelling alone on family business. I would never bring my wife and children to this hotel unless there were no other options. Bottom line - stay here if all your in need of is a cheap bed in a run-down hotel with a bar. At least the internet is good.
Room was nice except for there was hair in bathtub and on the bathroom floor. We ate two meals in restaurant and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Due to a Walleye tournament there were a lot of men with boats parked in parking lot just any where. Some were parked in the grass, some blocking other vehicles in. Cords everywhere being driven and walked over.
one of the most comfortable and friendly hotels for the price that i have ever stayed in I am from Mi. and now make my home in Florida, I come up a couple times a year and always stay at the Best Western in Woodhaven, the rooms are clean and comfortable the breakfast is very good and the staff is very helpful in every way. It is also located close to everything down river right of I-75 on west road
Construction and a lot of fishing boats made me wonder about the location but it was great. Big clean room, good restaurant on a rainy night, the fishing tournament guys were quiet. We were very satisfied.
Whether you are staying for business or pleasure this hotel is a great place to stay. Located right off I-75; it is easy to get anywhere in the area. Boating and great fishing nearby. Lots of shopping locations with nearby mall too. Within short distance to Detroit, Historic Monroe or even Toledo. I make it my location when I come to the area for business or pleasure.
Everything could use an upgrade, but the people who work here are wonderful to deal with! There is security patrolling the lot at night and there is parking available for car, RV'S and Semi trucks too. Pet fee is $20 per nt. The restaurant and bar are very basic, but it beats a pizza delivered! Prices are very reasonable and they have good drinks, a pool table and karaoke on Saturday night. Coffee pot and good sized fridge in the room with a flat screen TV (a LOT of sporting channels ). Beds were a bit hard for my liking. I am used to a memory foam at home though.
I love staying at this hotel, very clean and the restaurant is excellent! Do recommend to anyone staying in Detroit! The staff was very friendly, the swimming pool was very clean. My family and I will continue to stay here every time we come to Detriot.
The hotel and halls are clean, my room was large enough, the bed comfortable, the heat adequate and quiet and the restaurant had enough choices to satisfy me during a three night stay. The room furnishings were modern enough and the refrigerator adequate although strangely enough there was no microwave. The bathroom was nothing special but adequate and clean. The only amenity offered besides soap, of course, was shampoo. The shower head worked well and there was plenty of hot water. There was a decent sized flat screen TV with 41 channels and a desk in my room. Despite the 18 wheelers in the parking lot, the room was quiet. The hotel is only two floors with no elevator and it sprawls quite a bit. There is a long walk to the peripheral rooms. The pool is large and clean but there is no whirlpool. There is an exercise area and business center. The restaurant choices are uninspired but reasonably priced with generous portions. Service was good. Breakfast is not free but $3 off coupons for dinner and a fixed price breakfast cooked to order are available on check in. I found no problems whatsoever with the room or the premises. I would stay here again if need be.
The whole upstairs smelled like weed,, nothing was done to correct issue other than having a manager call me next day and that never happened. i gave the hotel another chance since i had a issue few months ago and of course nothing was done then either other than them saying we are sorry. when you pay 140.00 a night for rest and peasce and quite you should not have to smeel weed thoughtout the entire up stairs when you have kids..
Value is my first thought, nice clean room with a flat screen television several channels and a couple HBO. I found the bed comfortable and plenty of hot water and a nice shower head. I would have no problem booking another room here if I am ever in town. Restaurant was average fair selection and I thought the prices very competitive.
Stayed overnight and ended up extending. Nice rooms, clean and has a restaurant and lounge. Food is good. Service was top notch. Restaurant staff in the morning were great. I will be recommending this hotel to others.
It was a special Thanksgiving weekend traveling with the kids, so we splurged on a suite with a whirlpool tub. It was totally worth it! Nice room, clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the mattress on the king bed. We had a refrigerator that got nice and cold, but oddly no microwave. Super friendly staff walking the halls and ready to help (except the lady at the front desk who was a bit of a sour puss lol, maybe she was having a bad weekend). The indoor pool is wonderful and clean and large and so much fun -- not small like newer hotels. The attached restaurant had a nice basic breakfast available (not free, but reasonably priced). It's an older place but very well kept and nicely updated. As of November 2015, the entrance road to the hotel had construction next to it, and could easily be missed. Also watch out exiting the hotel, it is hard to turn left onto the main road with traffic -- it might be better to turn right then find a safe place to turn around and go the other direction. We will definitely stay here when we're in Woodhaven again.
I was greeted by a cheerful, down to Earth lady. She made pleasant conversation throughout the check in process. I went to the room with my daughter and was pleasantly surprised it was nice and clean. I would definitely stay again.
It was a great place to crash. The room was awesome. We enjoyed our stay. We will keep it in mind the next time we come to visit. Great rooms, good location, excellent price. You get what you pay for. See you soon!
Stayed here to be close to the local hockey rink. Outside of hotel is nothing to look at, it just needs to be updated. The room was very clean and spacious, plenty of room for luggage and lots of room on the sink counter for personal items. The beds were very comfortable, we slept great. We had a room on the 1st floor, away from the restaurant/bar so it was very quiet. The food in the restaurant was very good, tried the chicken parmesan. I would definitely stay here again if needed, good price for a clean room.
Just an overall dismal experience. Pretty much everything needed updating / replacement. Nasty might be the most accurate description that come immediately to mind. Will seek out alternatives on my next trip to the area and, in fact, we have already tentatively selected another hotel.
The staff is the best in the business, pet friendly, hotel needs some updating. We always use this hotel on our family visits in Michigan. Kathy knows her business and goes out of her way to make our stay perfect. Easy access off I75, good value for your dollar.
Booked into this hotel for one night and because of its location and value decided to stay for two. Had an evening meal at the bar - some very interesting characters there! The lady behind the bar was lovely and helpful and gave us advice about visiting Detroit - she assured us that despite what we had heard Detroit is a great place to visit and is definitely on the up. Hotel is about 20 mins drive from centre of Detroit. Visited Motown museum which has to be a must and Greenville Village (Henry Ford Museum) again another must. Had a walk along the river in Detroit and Greek Town and can honestly such we have never met such friendly people. If you want a clean basic hotel and value for money you can't fault this one
Had to spend a couple of days here while attending a wedding in the area. There was nothing special about the room at all. It was quite small based on others we have stayed at. It was clean thank goodness, but the bathroom area is tight as that is where the clothes hanging is, the drying rack and ironing board, so needless to say, only one person can use the sink and mirror at once. The hotel is only two stories, but very spread out. We were on the second floor and it was a long walk to the lobby and pool areas. There are no elevators, so be prepared to take stairs and don't bother with the luggage rack. There is no complimentary breakfast here, but I was given one $3.00 off coupon for the hotel breakfast...even though there were 4 of us and we were staying 2 nights. We ended up going to Bob Evans just down the road from the hotel, and received great service. The pool is big and my kids loved it. Disappointed that there was no spa, but not that big of a deal. Just be sure to ask for the pool code when you check in, because we didn't know there was a code until we tried to enter the pool area...and had to go to the front desk after trying all the doors. Speaking of the front desk, they were friendly, but not overly helpful. We only chose this hotel because the rate was the best in the area with availability and location. The only way we would choose this hotel again would be if we were in the similar situation with rate/availability.
The rooms were clean and smelled fresh. Two things I want. The halls were clean. The beds were comfortable. No problems at all. Reasonable price and restaurant and bar in the hotel. Also restaurants close to the hotel that were nice. The restaurant in the hotel was average not bad ,,not great..If you want a drink and dinner with no drive it was fine , which is what we did after a long day. The prices were average and I had cheeseburger sliders which were good and the french fries were awesome.
Expecting a typical BW experience, we drove into a war zonish area of blight and construction, trucks and turmoil. We were met by a receptionist who had an indifferent attitude towards life and people. She had little information regarding area eating places and the room's book listed one out of business for years. Outdated and tired! Some renovations have helped. Hopefully more will be made....
We were in a hallway away from the pool and lobby. It was fairly quiet which was nice. Other areas were noisy. The cleaning staff was very polite and did their job. The hotel is a nonsmoking facility but when walking in the hallway you can smell the cigarette smoke coming from certain rooms. There was, "nothing they could do about it." The hallway carpets were never clean. The upkeep of the building is minimal. We have stayed at a number of Best Western facilities and this is far from the best.
Our room was near the outside entrance and the door was opened and shut through the entire night. Smokers and drinkers were right outside the entry and we had to pass through them to get to our vehicle. Tried to get our room changed to no avail. Cut our trip short due to lack of sleep. Never again will we stay here.
This place is nice. The staff seemed very friendly when i checked in. They have a restaurant near the main lobby. Food was very good. Drink prices are not bad either. The room was very large and have a lot of room to move around. The bed is comfortable too.
Clean and comfortable/ surprised at how good the beds were! This made for an enjoyable stay while traveling thru the area. I was only disappointed they had a sauna instead of a spa? The restaurant was average but the bar seemed large and nice to relax. Overall I was pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel was! I would definitely stay here again while on business travel! Thanks GJ
I stay at this hotel twice a week for my job. I always get excellent service and clean accommodations. David is the manager and always anticipates my arrival and has my room ready to go as I walk in the door. With service like this I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms have new mattresses and are always clean. I am a loyal customer.
The experience was awful and terrible. The hotel is in total disrepair. I could not recommend this place to anyone. If we ever had to return to that area, we would not stay there again. The area does not offer many options so we picked the biggest brand name hotel we could find close to our conferences. We will look harder next time. With electrical sockets falling out of the wall to worn out furniture and fixtures. Pitiful, just pitiful. We were not looking for a 5 star hotel, but really, fix the place up and update the hotel.
