Best Western Hotel am Walserberg

The place itself was not worthy of five stars, but our waitress, Doffi, completely made up for it. She was incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. Even though it was the end of the evening, she served us with genuine care, a smile, and heartfelt kindness. Doffi is an outstanding employee who makes you want to come back. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

Stayed 1 night close to Toll Road good parking petrol station onsite . Rooms are basic & old fashioned book a quiet room on upper floor if you leave before breakfast opens at 7 can take continental from cafe in a bag. Staff friendly & price is ok.

This is the nightmare hotel experience that people laugh about at dinner parties for years. Not at all funny at the time. FIRST BOUT - I had a $100 BW gift voucher, that stated clearly to produce it at check in. The girl at the desk didn't know what it was. I told her to try a drop down menu for payment? Call a supervisor? She was not up to the task. Dim. Very dim. SECOND BOUT - When I came down for coffee at 7am - the restaurant mgr quickly uncovered everything, turned the lights on. and asked how he could be of service. I said I only wanted coffee, because we were jet lagged. He snapped at me - "Vhat? Jhoo no vant brekfahst? No, I apologized. Too early. Later maybe. "I openz za rehstarhant for jhoo... now jhoo say -- jhoo no vant?" I wasn't up for an international incident, so I fled. Later, after we ate, I took a croissant from the breakfast bar to take up to my grand daughter who was suffering terribly from jet lag. She had eaten half an orange, and a bite of her mothers eggs. You would think I robbed the cash drawer. Same loony toon man runs after me to the elevator shouting - "Jhoo must pay for anozer brekfast!!" What? I reminded him my granddaughter hadn't eaten... Didn't matter. He screamed to the clerk to charge my room for an additional breakfast. Over one croissant - to go. I slammed the croissant down on the counter, telling him to keep it. And I WAS charged another almost $12 -- I filed a complaint with BW and the Owners of the franchise. This isn't a hotel, it's a Hogan's Heroes rerun... complete with jack booted Colonel Klink, monitoring trips to the breakfast bar. INSANE .... quite insane.

Very handy hotel overlooking the Austria-Germany border, built right next to the motorway. Very convenient for our road trip. Room was comfortable, if a little too warm for my liking. We couldn't leave the windows open due to traffic noise but it was OK Excellent dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Good prices, exactly what we needed.

I definitely will not be returning to this hotel. The pictures on the website does not depict how the hotel looks. There were Spiders in the room, receptionist was the bartender and server, next to a truck stop, McDonalds in the hotel, and it was so hard to get too. Do not stay here.

The hotel is part of the motorway rest area, If you travel in direction of Munich, the access is not easy to find as it is via a small tunnel which takes you under the motorway to the other side. This should be made clearer in the hotel description. Apart from that the hotel seems recently refurbished and tastefully decorated. We had a nice big room with a very comfortable bed. The dinner in the a la carte restaurant was reaonably priced and tasty. The hotel has a beautiful roof garden with lovely views and outdoor seating, highly recommended. We only have two small criticisms - it would be nice to have a minibar in the room, and we found the room too warm.

Enjoyed this hotel which was great for a short stay. Room very clean, spacious, warm and comfortable. Lovely hot shower. Enjoyed dinner, but even more so the really excellent breakfast. Despite the location, the room was quiet. The staff were great. Would stay again. We had a problem with the in room safe which staff sorted out quickly. The roof garden is unexpected and absolutely lovely.

When making reservation I was not checking exact location, and was unpleasantly surprised I booked room on main highway on Austria-Germany border. When checked in to room, I was really pleasantly surprised. Room was very quiet and on the roof they have feng shui garden with great view to mountains. Nice breakfast. Warm dishes are served from kitchen, but other thing are on breakfast desk. Because I was on business in Salzburg, only negative thing was returning from Salzburg to hotel. My trip from Salzburg to hotel was in average 25-35 minutes, while going to Salzburg was only 15-20 minutes. Problem is you need to pass border control each time you want to go to hotel. I had minivan, and I had to deal with it. Otherwise they have small tunnel passage for small cars.

We stayed here with my family (2 small kids) while driving to our wintersports location. It is a perfect stopover for just a nights sleep. The rooms are very spacious (family room) and clean. I was supprised that we didn't hear the noise from the highway next door. We arrived late and were tired, but the reception staff was very friendly and made up for the long journey we had. Breakfast was included and was very good. There really wasn't anything I could wish for more, although you must understand that this hotel has no charm and is really just a place to sleep. Knowing that, this was a good option, as München is the bottleneck and we left that behind. The only remark I would make, is that the room was extemely hot, but that seems to be normal in Austria. So open up the window and turn down the thermostat, as soon as you enter your room...

Good stuff from slovakia with really good baguette. You have to pay for toilet 50 cents but after you get ticket and you can spent this ticket in restaurant. The bad think is that you can use only 2 tickets for one payment.
