Resumen de la reserva
This hotel is definitely showing it's age. It's probably ready to become a Quality in soon. The hallways were a little dirty. The shower didn't drain so you were ankle deep in water by the time you were done. We had a first floor room and the window lock was broken so someone could have gotten in from the outside. I didn't feel threatened in this location but I did wedge something in to keep the window from being opened just in case. Parking was plentiful. All-in-all it was OK for a road motel.
We made reservations six months at least a head of our trip. Held the rooms on that rate with credit card. When we arrived the rate we were charged was twice that much. They did nothing to resolve this issue and didn't give a receipt upon leaving. The hot tub, which was part of what we liked about this hotel, was non-functional, which no one told us upon check in. The room was not very clean either. This hotel has slipped a lot since we last stayed here. Very disappointed!
Best hotel stay overall we have had in traveling across United States during the past two and a half years.
Room were extremely clean. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The outside hotel grounds were beautiful and very maintained. Gorgeous flowers beds up by the main hotel entrance. Absolutely Beautiful!!
The hotel was clean, but my bed was broken. You can't tell me the staff didn't notice the box spring was broken. I almost fell off onto the floor when I first sat down. The hotel employee at front desk dismissed me as if it was no big deal and don't offer any type of compensation.
After a 14 hour day of driving, this was such a great place to crash for the night! I wasn't expecting it to be anything special based on the price, but was pleasantly surprised! Garret gave me a very welcoming greeting. The room was clean, comfortable, and nice and quiet. I would definitely stay here again if passing through the area!
Good value with a restaurant. I stayed here for over 100 days in total and its got great staff, most of the time, unless you have to deal with Kay, cause if she's in a bad mood from working with children all day, she will book the loudest guests next to you, and then if you have to talk to her she will be rude to you, and GOD forbid you have a package delivered, Kay will tell you that if you don't get it quick or they will return it. The pool is too cold. The hot Tub is broken. The spa is great. The internet is terrible for now.
Great place to stop when traveling. Pet friendly and nice dog area. This hotel has a Perkins restaurant with great food and friendly staff, they also have a nice bar with a nice selection of Bourbons.
We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always had a great experience. They have a Perkins restaurant attached, which make it very convenient when traveling. They have a dog park for people who bring their dogs so make sure you avoid the rooms that overlook it if you want privacy and peace and quiet.
Slamming doors, loud music, paper thin walls. This hotel had it all. We had our little dog with us. We paid the $30 for the pet room and were placed in room 135 next to an outside door that slammed nonstop all night long. I thought I was going to snap- someone went in and out every 3 to 5 minutes until 5 a.m. when we finally just got up and left the hotel. Our dog was distraught, I was frustrated and upset. We didn't sleep. There were people all night in their cars outside the room with loud music playing. There were people outside the door smoking. Because our room was next to the door, our room reeked of smoke. You had to walk through clouds of smoke to get into our out of the building. The room was dated with ripped carpet and stains on the furniture. The pool was out of service. This is our fifth night in a row in a BW property and this was not up to par. We paid way too much for this very bad experience.
We visited here for the Tomah Tractor Pulls. As soon as we walked in we noticed an odd smell through the entrance. I was nervous as we do not usually frequent Best Western. The room was clean, less weird smell. Bathroom was clean but overall the entire place needs an update. Beds were very comfortable in my opinion, firm. The next day when we went to use the pool we could not get in. When we went to the front desk to see what time it opened, at 9:00am they said “oh that door doesn't work” the pool is huge. Hot tub and sauna as well. The pool itself had ALOT of hair, and bugs floating on the surface. Went to use the whirlpool, the water was so low the jets were exposed. The sauna had very large bugs that ran across the floor, looked like cockroaches. Saw 3 before I scurried out. I would not stay at this particular location again.
The room was large and the bed and pillows were comfortable. I traveled with my dog and there is even an area where you can have your dog off leash. There is not much for breakfast - fruit, a bagel and protein bar, but they will give you a discount at the restaurant next door.
We've stayed here twice on family visits in Tomah. The location is good near Humbird Cheese, Walmart, the attached Perkins and downtown restaurants. The bones of this motel are good, but it is in desperate need of a facelift Examples: What could be a nice view is marred by the old "crackled" windows. Second floor hallway carpet needs major cleaning or replacement. Back entrance door needs repair - it wouldn't open. You do get a $4 credit for breakfast at Perkins, there is 24 hour coffee in the lobby and nice to-go breakfasts for those leaving early.
We were traveling with our puppy and it was great to have a secure area where she could be off her leash and run around! Pool area was top notch with a hot tub and a dry sauna and a nice seating area.
We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room. Being a budget/value hotel we were very happy with the accommodations. So refreshing to sleep in a clean environment with no funky smell or odors to the room. Even the carpet smelled fresh and clean. Comfortable beds as well. Would gladly stay again.
Staff very nice and helpful. Nice to have the attached Perkins restaurant and also and bar lounge to the hotel. Clean updated room and comfy beds. Hallways, lobby and elevator was filthy. Dusty -outdated carpet and decor in hallways and lobby.
I was in town for work. In between night shifts, they woke me up pounding on my door demanding I check out. They messed up the reservation and I had the room for another day. Never got any sleep because of this incident
On our road trip to Fargo ND, this was our first stop. We didn't have a reservation but the staff was very quick and friendly when we arrived. We got a clean, comfortable room and got a good nights sleep.
We were on the Road from the Black HIlls, home to Southern MI. I was not sure where we wanted to stop until that day. We did not check in until 11pm and they were very accomadating. Room was ready, clean and we enjoyed a quiet nights sleep!
Clean, comfortable room and friendly staff. The fitness center had cardio AND weight equipment. All of these were bonuses, including the restaurant next door. Check in Check out was easy. Great stay and will definitely stay again when in the area.
During the check-in, the desk employee received a call about another reservation. I was not a priority. I just stood at the desk waiting. They did not provide a real breakfast, just a grab-and-go bag. Embarrassing on both counts. Our room was huge, but the electric outlets were not in convenient locations. Bed was great. Room was clean. Best part was meeting Darwin, the cardinal, who wanted to come into the building numerous times.
Nice, hotel, safe location. The hotel appears to be a bit outdated, could use some updated carpets, especially in hallways. No continental breakfast, which was disappointing. The hallways had a musty smell. The beds were very comfortable.
Excellent BW property with bar restaurant and Perkins restaurant attached to hotel. Great service at check-in, check out, bar and Perkins using discount coupons for full breakfast at Perkins. Room clean and comfortable.
It's a nice hotel with decent amenities. The pool, sauna, and hot tub are well maintained and big. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly. A major letdown is there is no hot breakfast, especially when area hotels offer it. The grab and go bags have no sandwiches, yogurt, or juices.
I stay in hotels all across the country, this is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever been to for the price. The bathroom was spotless, and believe me I look around the bottom of the stool and in the corners. The mirror was cleaned with good lighting and the light fixture above was not full of dust. The room overall was comfortable and clean. The only thing I did not appreciate were the number of plugins by the bed.
Excellent hotel for us. Clean, safe, great lounge and having Perkins connected was a definite plus. For us we only stay in a "Pet Friendly hotel" and we couldn't be happier. Not the newest but a well maintained hotel. Obviously a well run facility.
We stayed one night traveling through. We thought the hotel was clean pool area was nice and rooms were good shape. Hotel staff was kind and a good place to get breakfast in the morning. Overall I would stay here again if im in the area.
Great dog friendly hotel. Nice rooms and having Perkins restaurant right therebis a real plus. Has a pool and an exercise room available for their guests. Everything we need at a good halfway point in our trip!
Nice hotel with everything we needed. Checkin and checkout was fast and easy. Pool area was nice and clean. Went the attached bar attached to Perkins. Very nice bartender. We had wings and cheese curds, both were very good.
We prepaid our room, then the hotel cancelled it on us, they'd rather rent to the government. Here's the nastygram we received: "It is with regret that we contact you. Your reservation for September during the Warrens Cranfest has been cancelled. The government refugee situation at Fort McCoy, which is 6 miles away from our hotel, makes this action necessary. Please do not reply. This account is not monitored."
The room was clean, the thermostat, I wonder if it was correct in temp as had it to 70 and seemed a bit warmer than that. Beds were extremely hard and the hot tub was warm at best. They did allow for pets to stay for an extra 20 bucks and had a enclosed section where they can run around which was nice. Decent channel selection as we stopped due to rain heavy (exceptionally) and that they allow for pets. Internet also a good speed. No breakfast so to speak, unless you do the go option, did provide if you asked for it, as we were not offered it, a $8 off breakfast at the next door restaurant.
This prolly has an awesome enclosed pet play area. You can let your fur baby off leash to run, play, and do business. Plus it's just beautiful walking around the property. Will definitely stay again. A+++++
Stayed for 8 nights and my stay was great from beginning to end. Check in was efficient and she even called a short time later to see if the room was ok or if anything was needed. Room was very clean and amenities at the hotel were very nice. Overall very nice hotel and I will stay here again if in Tomah.
This hotel is great! It has a soothing layout. They have a pool and a hot tub. They have an enclosed dog park quad. They have a bar and a Perkins attached to the hotel, and a gas station across the parking lot. They also have conference rooms available.
We stayed here for a hockey tournament. The staff went above and beyond for us. Room was clean, a a table or longer desk would have been nice, but overall a decent stay. Perkins and a lounge/bar area are attached. Would book here again.
Very nice place. Beautiful grounds, rooms were clean, staff wearing masks and gloves. Sanitized single use pens, etc. They went out of their way to make you feel safe during these interesting times. Thanks Best Western!
Very friendly front desk staff. All staff are taking expected COVID-19 precautions. Hand sanitizer everywhere. Even attempts to keep the morning coffee service safe. Guests appeared to be masked in the hotel. Perkins restaurant next door does take out and is also masking etc. The bar next door was packed and none of the customers were masked.
We had two rooms here. We were in dog friendly rooms, very clean, and nice. We enjoyed that the pool and dog park are in close proximity. The pool and hot tub are well maintained, and were every much enjoyed by both families. Plan to make this new traditional stop on our way home from yearly family fishing trip to MN.
The room and bathroom were very clean. Appeared to be freshly painted. Plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable. Fan slightly noisy but did not bother our sleep. Enjoyed our one night stay. Would highly recommend. Excellent value.
Rooms were being remodeled during my 2nd night. Adhesive fumes were very strong. The front desk was extremely apologetic and quick to act to improve the situation. They offered a solution and saved my stay.
In town for a few day for work. This hotel has been nicely renovated. The rooms are are spacious with comfortable beds. Everything you would expect from BW. The only down fall was do to the covid19 my room never was serviced for 4 days. It was not a big deal, I went and got towels from the front desk. The Trash did pile up and every trash can was full and had no choice but to put some on the floor. Unfortunately the only choice is to get takeout and eat in the room and after 4 days with no maid service there was a lot of food containers.
Quick stay at this newly remodeled property. Nice decorating. Clean and comfortable. Ask for room in courtyard sign if you are very sensitive to noise as some highway noise comes in. Convenient Perkins attached as standard rate doesn't include breakfast, but a voucher coupon offsets most of it. Very pleasant stay.
I stayed at the Best Western Tomah Jan. 30 & 31, leaving on Feb 1st. When I checked in, the lady at the desk appeared to be less than happy with her job. Not very friendly or welcoming. Once my room was assigned I walked down the hall to find it. I first noticed the plastic on the floor and then the strong smell of paint. Guess where my room was? Right across the rooms being renovated...down to the cement floors and new drywall. They were hammering, painting and sanding when I arrived around 3:30-4 pm. I finally went to the front desk at 645pm when they were still working to ask when they were going to be done working and let the lady know the paint fumes were quite strong. I was told "they should be done now. I'll go talk to them." It was almost 9 pm when the working crew left. And they arrived bright and early at 7 am the next morning. Not once I offered a different room, an apology for the inconvenience or an acknowledgment that the paint fumes were bothering me. The hotel was not busy, so I'm not sure why I was 1) placed in a room right across from the renovations going on, and 2) never offered to be moved to a new room. Nowhere on the website did it indicate there was any kind of renovations going on when I made the reservation. If it had, I would have made a request to as far away from the construction area or I would have gone to a different hotel. On the positive side, the room I had was clean and housekeeping staff accommodated my request for an extra conditioner. Overall, I was not very satisfied with my stay.
The location was were I was working this week I stayed there. It was next to a Peking Resturant and just down the hallway., The room was quite and the card for the room worked even kept next to my cell phone in my pocket.
We had 50 people in our group for a hockey tournament and this team was amazing! Coffee always available, breakfast bags were healthy with variety, staff unbelievably friendly, pool super clean with towels available, and lobby and rooms clean. They were able to provide our group with a room which gave us not only a meeting area but a place for the kids to hang out rather than in the halls making the hotel really quiet all day long. We were so grateful and impressed.
This hotel was great for our hockey team. We were provided a conference room for our team to play and meet, and the staff in general were very accommodating to the unique needs of hockey families and teams.
We travel to Tomah often to visit family. This has always been our go to hotel. Beds are super comfy. They give you LOTS of pillows!!! Yay!!!! When we travel to Tomah, we have our two dogs with us. This hotel is really pet friendly with a wonderful pet courtyard. It's great when our lab insists on playing fetch. The courtyard is sheltered from the wind to make fetching & tossing more bareable on cold winter nights. Best Western is very clean. Last night there were 3 little boy hockey teams & there families there. After 9:30, no noise!!!! While there is not free breakfast, there is a Perkins attached & you are given a $4.00 Boturne for each person. I very highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed at the Best Western Tomah in the beginning of the month as my daughter was expecting a baby at the local hospital. The room was very clean and comfortable. I did have 2 rings that I placed on the nightstand that somehow disappeared after housekeeping cleaned the room. The rings were worth $3,300. They never showed up in their lost and found. My only suggestion is to not bring anything of value to this hotel.
We have stayed at this hotel several times and always been satisfied with the clean comfortable rooms. There is a great pool and spa to relax in after a long drive. A Perkins restraunt is attached and convient, Hotel is always spotlessly clean and updated.
I stay here on business and personal, Hotel is always spotlessly clean and updated (they just totally painted the outside looks great!!) The staff is awesome and friendly greeting me by name, maintenance and housekeeping are always courteous, fast and attention to detail is fantastic, anything extra you need they accommodate to make your stay better. The attached pub and Perkins are fantastic and the food is always great with new additions and a great selection, the staff of both are quick and friendly, great value for the price as well, quiet and rooms are updated and modern
The rooms are clean but are not worth the money to stay. the fitness center is small and does not have properly maintained equipment. We had to move to another room due to the TV not working. We asked for a King bedroom and was given a double queen bedroom, which had a thermostat wired to the heating/cooling unit. it was difficult to relax with other guests children running up and down the hallways slamming doors and yelling.
The front desk was very nice and helpful! We were not sure at first about this hotel because it was a bit worn but we were very impressed with how clean everything was. Keep up the great work housekeeping!! We would stay again!
Not a high end hotel, but clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel outside appearance was clean and well kept. The location is not far from Tomah and there are a variety of restaurants available nearby.
cost me over $860. just because there was an event in town.. you should be grateful your hotel is full.. you should be rewarding your guests instead of ripping them off on prices.. your hotel would never be full or even close in a small town like this.. so instead of thanking them.. you jack the rates on the people trying to make a buck.. will not be back..
We were greeted by Dani, she was great!! Knew the area very well and she was a fun person. We were going to the Cranberry Fest in Warren Wisc. We stayed for 2 nights room rates were kinda high, but whenever you have something special going on you can expect that. The rooms were very clean and nice.. Kudos to our housekeeper. She was also great!!
This was an easy-in/easy-out stop for us. You can pop off either 94 or 90 and get there quickly. The front desk was friendly and efficient. Everything was clean and professionally handled, including the room where we had a business meeting. Even the technology worked!
Very nice hotel, pet friendly. Clean rooms. Nice sports bar and Perkins adjoining the hotel. Staff very friendly. Nice area outside to walk pets, also an enclosed area to allow dogs to be off leash. Will stay here again.
I wish they would have a KING bed in an accessible room with a raised toilet and grab bars. Staff was courteous. Bed was comfortable for a good night of sleep. I did hear the next door persons iPhone alarm go off at 3:50 a.m., so the rooms are not sound proof. Easy access to the highway. Plenty of nice restaurants in the area and a cheese shop called Humbird across the driveway with a nice variety of cheese and cheese fudge.
This place needs some updates badly. The toilets are original with all the water to flush. The air conditioner smelled so musty that we had to turn it off. If in that area again we will stay somewhere else
Room was clean and ready when I arrived. Internet was not as "High-speed" as advertised, which made working on my laptop difficult. Lounge was nice. Lighting in the room was a little dim and one of the desk lamps did not work, but plenty of outlets for plugging in my laptop, chargers, etc.
This is a clean but older property, could use a refresh. There is no breakfast in hotel, although coffee is offered. Breakfast is available at Perkins Restaurant next door at a discount. Large parking lot, reasonable rate.
This is an older property but was ok for our over night stay. We had issues with the room key deactivating (likely from cell phone). We had to drive around the back side of the room and the key did not work to get in the side door so we had to go walk back to the front desk and when we got new keys the side door lock had reset and would not accept the new key so we hiked around to the other side door. My wife was not happy with getting nearly 3000 extra steps in before we ever reached the room :) The front desk lady was nice and apologized for the issue and offered to have maintenance look at it but they were gone for the day. We made due. The room was very clean but worn and smelled a little musty likely because the A/C unit was not on and it was warm in the room. It cooled down quickly. The hotel is large but we didn't realize until we unpacked that our room 157 was closet to the interstate, it was noisy but we ran the A/C unit all night and were not able to hear the trucks go by. I had not carefully read the reviews prior to booking as many stated they give you a "to go breakfast bag" or $4 to Perkins (attached to hotel) - the bag was disappointing - red apple, processed trans-fatty muffin, granola bar and water bottle. $4 at Perkins doesn't go very far and we didn't want to pay more out of pocket. Knowing the they was not good breakfast, I would not have stay at this hotel. So with the issue of the key card, worn room, and lack of breakfast and for the nearly $100 we paid for the room - we will not return as I feel that the value for the room was not justified. It may be fine for others and for larger group but didn't really meet our needs. On a positive note, the staff was warm and welcoming & the room was very clean.
Hotel is a little worn but bed was comfortable and shower pressure good. Pool and hot tub was spacious and pool area very clean. They do not offer a breakfast but will give you a $4 voucher per person for Perkins next door. Young lady at front desk was very warm and friendly.
Very nice hotel. Beds were comfortable and room was clean and quiet What I appreciated most was their efforts to accommodate my request for a downstairs room as my husband was unable to handle stairs. All the staff was friendly and helpful
Thin walls, little hot water, rude bar tender and Mr. P's steak house is a Perkins restaurant. Go somehwere else. We had several rooms rented for a group event and I didn't hear from anyone that liked the hotel.
Working in Blair, Wisconsin with an April Blizzard is upon us, drove up to the Tomah, Wisconsin Best Western, last rooms on the road and they were glad to have us, bar and restaurant adjoining the hotel, did not need to go out in the storm. Good Job Best Western!
The staff was very helpful. The hotel was very nice. It was very clean. The room was spacious with a king size bed. The bathroom was very clean. It was very quiet, even though we were close to the Interstate.
Always fast and clean. I have always had a excellent experience at Best Western. Great amenities and great food. If you are looking for a place to stay Best Western is the A excellent choice for the price.
The Best Western in Tomah did an awesome job with the various hockey teams staying at the hotel. They were able to provide space for each team, listed the schedule at the front desk and were very accomodating.
The hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate our hockey team and their families! Having a conference room to gather in, printed area map with hockey rink and area activities marked, hockey rubber ducky in the bathroom... above and beyond other hotels our team has stayed at over the years.
Unplanned visit to area yet obtained nice handicap-accessible room. Quiet, strong heater although it varied the temperature more than some due to wide sensing band (e.g., when set to 71F, it would come on at about 68F and remain on until 73 F). TV, clock, microwave and minifridge all in good working order and clean. A bit of a time delay to get hot water in shower, but with outside air temp at -21F, we were glad to get hot water, at all. Convenient access to adjacent Perkins restaurant and hotel provided a daily discount coupon for breakfast at Perkins.
All details were meticulously handled! Our weekend - our 26th family reunion was wonderful! Thank You for providing us with a location that had everything we asked for....Clean meeting room, cclean and comfortable hotel rooms, and very complete service from the staff.
hotel was nicer inside then outside. looks a little run down from the outside. needs a facelift. beds were comfortable. hallways need a shampooing. the to go breakfast bags were perfect for our early morning hockey game.
Two of our hockey teams stayed here for our tournament in January. We were so impressed by the helpful staff and wonderful group accommodations. The pool room is large and the clean towels just kept coming! I definitely recommend booking your gatherings here.
We were there for a hockey tournament and the hotel really catered to the kids. They understood that kids make noise and run. Often hotels have too high expectations for kids, they let the kids be kids!
Only had a single night in this hotel. However it was very convenient. Staff was friendly and eager to help. The lounge took a little longer than usual to prepare a simple meal, but had no reflection on the hotel. I would gladly return.
We returned to our room one evening and the heat had stopped working. This was at about 1:00am. I this seems to happen a lot as they did not seem surprised when we called the front desk. The said that we would have to change rooms and the new room was going to be a downgrade. This wasn't what I wanted to do at 1am, so I said no and we would stay in the room for the night and see if they could fix it in the morning. It got pretty chilly in the room, but I really did not want to have to pack up and move. We were finally contacted around noon the next day to be informed that they weren't going to be able to fix the heater that day and that we would have to move. I really hate having to pack up and move, but whatever, asked if it was at least the same sort of room and they weren't even sure about that at first. Checked out today, and I guess our inconvenience wasn't even worth $20. The only discount we received was $17, really? I am definitely not impressed. I had stayed here before and did not have any issues, but I am not happy at all with having to move, the hotel didn't even care if they downgraded us, and all we received for a discount was $17. Cheap hotel, which you can tell by the flooring and chipped paint.
Perfect spot for an overnight stay with a dog. Call ahead to request a pet friendly room. This is a great 2/3 star hotel. It's a Best Western so don't expect the Park Hyatt but it's clean and well maintained. We've stayed at Aloft and Kimpton brand hotels but this Best Western exceeded our dog friendly expectations. Our dog was allowed to walk through the main lobby door. There is a fully enclosed grass courtyard that is the BW “dog park”. Large enough for fetch time. Leashes are not required in the dog park. Then in back of the hotel is a large, open field for fetch. Added bonus is the discount coupons for Perkins restaurant next door—which is much better than any complimentary hotel breakfast.
We always receive the best care from staff. They remember us from year to year. The location has many diverse restaurants close at hand - perfect for our business hours. The staff is always readily available for whatever we might need.
Spent one night here. The room was fine and everything was in good shape. The hotel has a Perkins with bar attached to it, which we found very convenient. The staff was very friendly from the front desk to servers.
This hotel has a restaurant and lounge which is convenient to motorcyclist, staff is friendly and the room was quiet even being close to the freeway, the downtown area is less than 3 miles away, would stay here again.
Never tried Best Western before. Rooms were nice, a little noise bleeds through from neighbors and the hallways, just annoying. Has a Bar and Perkins attached to the hotel, so after a long day of traveling or working, you can just go downstairs and have a beer and eat.
Lack of cleanliness, front desk attitude, horrible internet service, locks, lights, etc. not in working order, etc. all played a factor in this not being a good stay. Recommend checking out other hotels before staying at the Best Western, unless they change.
Hotel and room were very clean. Staff was friendly. The space to let the dogs run off leash was very clean and well maintained, too. I would definitely stay here again. Had a good breakfast at the attached Perkins restaurant.
The place and room was clean and a good value for the price of the room. staff was friendly and helpfully both coming and going. The shower was very nice water was hot if you need and the pressure was strong. spacious bathroom. beds queens were nice and comfortable for sleeping. no free breakfast but they give you a 4 dollar coupon for the Perkins restaurant which is attached to the motel. good parking. would recomend a place to stay if you are in the Tomah area
My work requires for me to be on the road everyday. After an already very long day my truck broke down and had to be towed in late at night to a repair shop. The repair shop recommended Best Western in Tomah and I quickly agreed because I usually have a good experience with them. By the time I got to the hotel it was almost 11pm and Dani the receptionist, greeted me with a smile and a warm welcome and got me checked in quickly. Well with everything that went on in my horrible day, I hadn't been able to even eat since breakfast and everything was closed. I went back to the front desk and asked Dani if she could break a $20 so I could at least get a vending machine dinner. She gladly got me change and then paused. She then informed me that she happened to have an extra Subway sandwich that she wasn't going to eat and I could have it if I wanted it. She was my hero for the day, and it helped turn my horrible day into a more relaxed night. So thank you to Everyone at the Best Western, and a special thanks to Dani. Matt
My title basically sums it up. I was woken up at 5AM to the person in the next room taking a dump. Think about it. The bathroom door was closed. I am asleep. Suddenly I am woken up by coughing as if it is right beside my ear. Except it wasn't, this person was in the next room. Then, I hear the person taking a dump. Yes, I am in bed, and I can hear the person in the neighboring room GOING TO THE TOILET. And to top it all off, when I almost fell asleep again, I could hear the person talking on their phone for 2 hours, from 5:30AM to 7:30AM. I know, it doesn't seem possible, but it is. Apparently the ventilation system connecting both of our rooms were wide open, so any sound you make in one room is easily heard in the other. This is THE MOST RIDICULOUS ENGINEERING DESIGN I have ever seen in a hotel room in my life. Who thought that doing this was a good idea? I spent the rest of the day, teary eyed and gross, because of my REM sleep disruption and who knows what that guy was doing in his room, because it obviously vented out into my room.
convenient to I-94. older hotel, but room was excellent, and staff were very helpful and courteous. no breakfast service, but discount coupons are issued for the perkins restaurant located on the property. breakfast there was quite good. overall, we'd stay here again!
This place is disgusting! I could smell the old smoke and staleness as soon as i walked in! I turned the air up high to drive the smell out but just blew all the dust and mold around. I didnt sleep at all and left with red itchy eyes and a sore throat.
This Best western is in a quiet and convenient location. The staff is very polite and helpful. There are several restaurants and shopping places near by, to include a restaurant attached to the hotel. The room and hotel overall is very clean.
This was our third visit to Hood River. Camped the two times prior. Very friendly people, the .Rrestaurant has a limited menu but is really good. The Lounge really hops around 5:00 wiht most visitors eating diner there. Prices are low and the food is top notch. The room we had was clean but worn. They say this property has been remodled. In reality the work is being done now. Our first night we laid awake with noise from workers putting in new carpet below us at 11:00 pm. We were to get a discount but for the lost sleep but our bill did not reflecy any discount. We opted for an email copy but I should looked someone in the fase to make sure it happens
We stayed there February 9-11, 2018 for a hockey tournament. There was also another team that stayed there, along with another event. The hotel made sure that all had ample space for each to have their own meeting/get together areas. They went over and beyond by setting that all up for us, without us even having to ask. They also provided the teams with an ice cream, hot chocolate and coffee bar with many toppings. They were very polite and friendly, and more than accommodating. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. Considering the number of people and kids at the hotel, it was very quiet and relaxing.
I work on a railroad gang and we are always happy when CLC books us in a best western or best western plus. Until this one. Was packed full of kids hockey teams and was the noisiest hotel we've ever stayed in. Some of the guys myself included called the desk because kids were playing hockey in the hallway. Yes, you read that correctly. Was told sorry but kids will be kids. After 2 weeks of 16 hours a day this was the wrong response. 12 rooms booked and all we wanted was sleep. Checked out after 1 night for a quieter place and will probably have CLC remove them from the list. The restaurant food was good and room was clean. New furnishings but in disrepair (wallpaper, ceiling stains in bathroom, etc). Was also the first BW we've been to in a long time which didn't include hot breakfast. They offer a coupon for the next door restaurant. Staff was friendly besides allowing 75 kids to run amok. Would like to see BW improve this one.
Very pleased with pet friendly room capability without any odors or indications of previous pet usages. Quality bed and linens for great sleep. Typical amenities in room plus small refrigerator & microwave, too.
Good location, good accommodation, friendly staff and excellent comfort food restaurant adjacent to hotel. The hotel offers a little discount for the restaurant, which is very convenient and adds up when you include breakfast, dinner for several days.
This hotel has a courtyard for dogs to run free. Bags are provided by the hotel for dog waste. It is a nice feature for dog owners; however, shameful how owners expect hotel staff to pick up after their dog. Pet owners pick up after your dog, so that this amenity lasts.
I would stay here again. Kids enjoyed it also. The beds were comfortable. The water was hot. The swimming pool was very nice and clean. AC worked great. The staff was friendly and helpful. All around a Great Place to stay.
The hotel room was clean, comfortable, and adequate for my needs. The staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient location close to the highways and the areas I was visiting. Restaurant connected to the hotel is a plus.
Overall good experience. Convenient location and comfortable beds. There was a wedding party at the hotel and the front desk guy thoughtfully asked if we wanted a room away from the revelry? Yes! Had some problems with room lamp and clock, but the same front desk guy came to the room quickly and resolved the problems. No buffet breakfast, but rather discount coupons for the connected Perkins restaurant. Not bad! We would stay again if it fits our travel schedule.
If you are lookin for a great place to stay near the Sparta trail, THIS IS IT. Great rooms, a very responsive and willing to help staff, and a fabulous breakfast buffer. The buffer have everything that you might want to eat!! Ham, Bacon, Sausage, Scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, hot and cold cereal, toast, English muffins, French toast, make your own waffles, yogurt, juice, coffee, milk. oatmeal with various toppings to put on....and MORE!
Not any type of breakfast served - even though advertised as full breakfast. They DID have a take with you that consisted of an apply and a bottle of water. BIG DEAL for the the highest priced motel in the area. Only option for coffee in Reception area is NON-Decafiniated
I don't really do reviews but everytime we travel as a family I always check people's review so I decided to do might as well do my own reviews on each hotels that we stayed in. As for this hotel... Cleanliness - checked! Bed - checked! Washroom/Restroom - (beyond what I expected) checked! Front desk personnel are very polite. We did not use the pool so can't say anything about it. Very much highly recommended! Perkin's Restaurant is attached on the hotel, check your food make sure there is no broken glass on your food, which I had mine, I only found out when we were on the road already :(
We were traveling for some work at Fort McCoy over the weekend. Specifically, with the WI National Guard. We were also traveling with two dogs. After the overnight at the hotel, we were supposed to be back by 1pm. However, we were running late and wouldn't be back until 2pm. So, we called the front desk where Dani was working. She asked if she could go into the room to let the dogs out as they were beginning to ask to be let out. So, Dani went into the room, leashed up the pups, and let them run around in their really wonderful little doggie park at the hotel. 15 minutes later, they were back in the room cuddling on the bed. I really, really appreciated this kind gesture. It helped us out a lot. Otherwise, the room was great, the hotel was clean and very nice as well. Also, the Perkins restaurant that was attached served good breakfast! I would recommend this place for sure! Especially, if you're traveling with dogs.
You get one extra star for the front desk staff, which were all very nice, friendly, and helpful. Other than that, this place needs to dramatically improve. Our room, although decorated fairly modern, had a musty smell to it. There were patch marks all across the ceiling, I don't know what was going on there. The bathroom was worse, how can management think that shower head is acceptable??? The walls are paper thin, we could hear the whole conversations in the rooms next to us and heard every footstep of the guests in the room above us, "thump thump thump" across the floor. I would like to say I will give you a second chance but there are too many other options in town that I would rather stay at now.
The 70's decor was awful, the old musty smell was just as bad. I wanted to leave and find another place to stay. Way too overpriced, you can stay at the Hampton Inn for $6.00 more and get a much nicer room, a continental breakfast and a spa/hot tub that didn't have yellow colored water.
Check in went very nice Sara took care of us fast ,Rooms were very nice,We rented the Banquet room and it was set up very nice .Laura asked if we needed anything else !! The Reunion went as planned And it was GREAT!! Thank You!!
Wonderfully comfortable hotel, especially for my handicapped wife. Very accessible & very accommodating. We will be back next year. We enjoyed the restaurant connected to the hotel. Perhaps we will bring our little dog next year since you have pet friendly rooms. We told our family about our nice stay.
My husband and dogs stayed one night on our way home from vacation in MN...... first time staying at a hotel with dogs....this hotel was a pleasant surprise! Very clean and lots of area for the dogs to roam and take care of their business! Staff was beyond friendly and accommodating..... very clean and! Would def stay again !
I had to come to Tomah for business. The company put me up in a hotel that was not satisfactory, so I moved across the street to the Best Western. I noticed it from the outside. The grounds were clean, the building looked new so I went in and asked to see a room. The front desk staff was super friendly. I saw the room and knew immediately I was going to stay there. They have a gym, enough to get a work-out in.(no free weights), they are attached to a Perkins (good breakfast) and the hotel was extremely clean. I did have some issues with my phone and one lady in housekeeping, I believe was the Manager. But I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone.
I have been staying at this Best Western for several years on my way back from a Canadian fishing trip with friends. The hotel is always clean and comfortable and the service is A-1. Adjoining restaurant is a plus.
One night stay at Best Western in Tomah, Wisconsin. Trip was for leisure. Check in was very efficient and was completed in 3-4 minutes. Two Clerks were very, very friendly and efficient. They also were very helpful a little later when I asked for recommendations and directions for restaurants in area . On a scale of one to ten, every aspect of my stay was a 10.
The staff was helpful in all respects. The restaurant was attached did not have to leave the building. The stay was just a stop over.Gas station was within a block of the hotel. We were there to sleep and get back on the road the next day.
nice and friendly staff, nice hotel, but hot water ran out after 5 minutes. Then had to increase hot water lever and it ran out again. Did this three times. Room was fine. Bed was uncomfortable. There are restaurants nearby which is nice, so you do have some options.
The service of the staff was excellent and that includes the Perkins staff that worked in the restaurant and bar lounge I picked this hotel again after my first stay because of the staff service and the convenience of the location of the hotel. My only complaint would be to have more usb ports in the rooms.
My room was clean, but the interior was very off-putting. I saw so much dirt/trash on the stairs/in the lobby/entrance. You could hear the other guests thru the walls watching TV. Customer service was sub-par.
When I am working away from my home area I prefer comfortable and quiet hotels. This one met both of those requirements. The price was the added bonus. I also enjoyed the fact that there is a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel. The only thing that I would have liked would be an included breakfast and not just a $3.00 coupon.
Hotel in a quiet setting. Rooms were large and updated. Beds were very comfortable. Very relaxing and homey place to stay while traveling. Would highly recommend. Easily accessible from I 94 and I 90. Grab and Go bags in the morning were fun and enjoyable!
while the hotle is trying to be updated the facility lacks alot the staff is great but the facility is just above a motel and if i did not have to stay here i would not all you need is a bed then this is your place
Stayed in this hotel in December while dealing with the death of my father. They hotel is conveniently locate and is attached to a Perkins restaurant. These are the best things about this hotel. The hotel is under new management and undergoing renovations. The room was cold even with the heat on do to there being gaps between the window/HVAC section and the connecting wall. We could see the parking lot light coming through the gap in the wall, along with single digit cold of the Wisconsin winter. The hotel does provide a $10 breakfast compensation to be used at the attached Perkins because they themselves do not serve breakfast. Could be a nice hotel once all the renovations are complete and the gaps are sealed, but I would stay at another hotel until such time.
I attended the hotel for a conference of Hoof Trimmers. The hotel is in a good location, has a Perkin's as part of it and a bar. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. I have to say what made it 5 star for me was the attitude of the staff. We had 80+ trimmers staying from across the area plus some of us from overseas and there were groups spread about drinking until late. Despite having a group of guys drinking their own beer in reception we weren't told off or moved but looked after superbly well. I had a great weekend here and would definitely stay again.
Check in process was very easy, and hotel is attached to a restaurant and bar, which is very convenient. Rooms are a bit dated, but overall pretty clean. Bed was comfortable and the area was fairly quiet. In the morning i went to take a shower, half way through the shower the hot water ran out. I noted it was not the usual prime time for people to take showers (8am) but there was no hot water at all....not even warm, just extremely cold water. I waited about 15 mins, still no hot water. When i went to the front desk to complain, she said "Well it looks like the maintenance man will have something to do today" No apology, no concern....nothing at all....
The hotel is alright, the Perkins and lounge are the best parts. Staff is friendly. The internet is absolute garbage. I had better internet connection in Afghanistan. Doesn't help that there's no AT&T coverage in Tomah.
The rooms were clean, beds were comfy, Internet was included, and staff was friendly!!! There was a Perkins in the hotel that had breakfast, but it wasn't free. The hotel gave us vouchers for a certain amount off, but only a certain amount of vouchers were allowed per room. The pool area was great though!!! Had a sauna, hot tub, and large pool!!!
This motel is a gem if you are traveling with your pooch. The staff have all the best qualities we associate with the midwest. They were genuinely kind, courteous, helpful, clean, et al. The best part is an indoor courtyard where your dog can run free or play ball. Finally while staff treat you as their most special guest, they will treat your dog as their most valuable guest also. If you don't have pets, don't worry. Their rooms and bedding are very, very clean.
Makes you feel like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to stay at their motel. If you get a discounted rate at this motel they do not give you the breakfast discount. It's her policy but she tried to blame the night clerk. They cater to the one time guest not the long term guests. Been traveling for almost 30 years and won't return to this one.
Staff were very friendly, rooms were dated and the walls were super thin. Very little lighting at the back of the hotel which made me quite nervous. Boys really enjoyed the pool. Overall it was fine for 1 night.
This motel is a pleasant stop, and the personnel were very friendly. After we left to continue our trip, I remembered about a hundred miles down the road that I had left a shirt in the closet. I called the motel, and the clerk said she would look for it. I really didn't expect the get the shirt back, but someone called later and said the shirt was in the mail. They didn't have to do this, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Also, the breakfast coupon for Perkins was most welcome. I don't normally like Perkins, but the breakfast was quite good, and the waitress was very friendly.
I arrived at an airport before noon with a 5 plus hour drive ahead of me to the hotel. My luggage did not arrive until after 10:15 PM. I called the BW customer service number on my card asking if I could change my reservation. Answer: a very abrupt NO; when I asked for some consideration due to the circumstance I was told "we cannot do that". I said thanks and hung up.
Was very surprised to see attached Perkins Restaurant which we do not patronize due to poor quality of food and service and then find out that we would get $3.00 coupon off for breakfast or they would give us a bottle of water and a banana or apple? Then we asked for first floor room and were placed on 2nd floor "but it is right off the elevator". They then told the next person that came in they were not busy or full. To be fair, I did call BW Rewards Center and they advanced us several thousand rewards points upon asking what we paid for breakfast at Denny's. At the end of our road trip we chose to drive home through Wisconsin although it was an hour longer. Their hospitality is always above average as is their food so this was certainly unexpected.
We stayed here on our way to North and South Dakota. It was a very clean comfortable room. There was a fridge and microwave in our room. The shower was very nice and the water temperature was great. There is no breakfast, but we were given a discount coupon for the attached Perkins. It was a very good breakfast. There are many stores and restaurants very close by. We also ate at Culver's (hamburgers & salads) The only problem we had was there were kids running up & down the hall for about 15-20 minutes at 11:30 p.m. This is not the hotel's fault, only the inconsiderate parents.
The overall stay was pleasant but needs to have a huge over hall to catch up with the rest of the hotels changes, update the carpet, update all, Cant beat the costumer service, needs to bring back complementary breakfast, going to lose costumers if not.
very nice place with a great staff. the best pool I've seen in years. could really swim in it. the 3 dollar coupon for Perkins on site was alright, Perkins staff very receptive, but wish Best Western would of had a breakfast.
Needed a place to stay for a quick night. The receptionist was very helpful and nice. She was also doing housekeeping as when I got to our room she was delivering linens to a room. I was disappointed in the part we stayed. Strange odor in the back stairwell and hallway. Leaving the next day it was a member of housekeeping that was handling the front desk. For a quick night stay over it served its purpose.
This hotel is supposed to be a nice hotel. It's a 3 star class with 4.1 stars trip advisor. They even won some trip advisor award last year. I call BS... First we get to our room and there is trash scattered throughout and there was food pieces and dead bugs on the floor. There was also bugs, grime and spider webs in the window ledge. Not the best place for a toddler who eats everything... So we went to the front desk and they gave us the vacuum to clean the floor... The bathroom reeked of urine. It was the nasty shower curtain. Several of the towels had large black smelly oil marks on them. We asked for new ones and those had marks too. The water in the shower was either ice cold or scalding hot. There was nothing in the middle. The second day we came back and the maid didn't even make one of the beds! We made sure before we left that nothing was left on them and somehow it wasn't touched. The AC unit was loud and with screeching noises every time it came on. We were on the first floor near the parking lot and every time someone was smoking outside, the smell filled our room. We don't smoke and we don't want that gross smell anywhere near us or our children. We made sure that the front desk was aware of the issues when they happened. We spoke to the owner who flat out said that she wouldn't have even stayed there... she also told me that when I booked the room I only listed it as a single occupancy instead of listing my family which would have raised the rate. She then told me I should be happy that I wasn't charged the extra 10 bucks a day and to call it even. I booked with the front desk over the phone and made it very clear that my family and I needed a room. This is an awful place with the worst customer service ever. I will never stay here and will not allow any other service members I know to stay here. I'm still waiting for a the owner, Ruth to call me back. I'm not holding my breath.
Typical Best Western quality. We liked getting a voucher to apply toward breakfast at the attached Perkins restaurant. Convenient location. Very quiet. My wife was happy. Happy wife, happy life. I'm a lot of trouble thinking 200 characters.
Stopped on the way home from vacation since it was about halfway. I was impressed with the hotel on every level and cannot think of anything to be critical about. Just what you should expect from the chain.
You know that your stay isn't going to be a great experience when the problems start at check in. We had booked a king room online through Best Western but upon arrival were told we had booked a room with two queen beds. When we presented a print out of our reservation clearly showing a king room we were told that no kings were available. The front desk informed us that they had experienced the same problem a week previously with an online reservation through Best Western. It had been a long hot day of travel and we took the room with two queen beds. Upon arrival in the room we found it to be at 84 F because the air was turned off - a nice economy move that drives customers away. We turned on the AC and went to the adjoining Perkins for supper hoping the room would cool to a reasonable level when we returned. Unfortunately the room was still too hot so we decided to cool off in the pool. When we arrived at the pool it was dark and and the lights were off. A call to the front desk was required to get the minimal lighting turned on - another economy measure. (Parent's with younger children should be aware that the pool itself is fairly large but has no underwater lighting and a steep drop-off to 9 1/2 ft.) When we returned to our sufficiently cooled room we noted that even the very dim lighting couldn't hide the large stain on the carpeting between the beds. One would expect that a repeated problem in altered reservations between a hotel and the Best Western parent would trigger a dialog to find the source of the problem and resolve it. Since that apparently wasn't the case we contacted Best Western Customer Care. Their records showed our reservations to be for a king room and promised to follow up to determine why the Tomah hotel's system showed two queens. To date the only communication has come from the Tomah hotel indicating that their system showed two queens. I can only note that the confirmation numbers are completely different so there may be either some human or software problem in the overall reservation system. It wasn't a very enjoyable stay and will not return.
Some dog -friendly hotels are a bit squiffy. Not this one. Clean, well maintained AND with the interior courtyard turned into a really well maintained dog park. $15 extra for the dog is very reasonable. Nice pool for the non-canines in the family. Oh, and they provide a welcome pack for their canine guests - containing a dog biscuit and a ball. Woof!
We booked the banquet hall for our 40th Class Reunion. The Sales Director was so helpful and easy to work with. Food was good, the room was newly remodeled and beautiful. Highlight was the new jukebox that was a great surprise!! The evening was perfect. Would highly recommend their facility for any type of special event.
The pool is the best. Very nice. The room was nice and the maids gave us clean towels. The halls could be cleaner I did not like that we only got two coupons for 3 dollars off for our breakfast and it could be only used that morning before 10 and we had four people in our room. If each person got a coupon and if it could be used for breakfast or lunch any time during the stay it would be better. We were in a family reunion the days we stayed and all the other family members stayed in other places that offered breakfast. I also did not like the way one has to go to get out of the hotel. It was hard to cross the street and could be dangerious at night when a person did not know the area. You can not turn left from the hotel and have to go through the Perkins parking lot.
Beyond freindly folks really made US feel welcome! Right off the freeway, close to town and Fort McCory. The next time up will make sure we stay there again. Plus the Perkins has really, really good inexpensive food courses.
The hotel halls are filthy and the stairs were not cleaned over my 4 day stay. The carpet in the halls and in my room was filthy. The ceiling and walls had sprayed pillowy texturing that looked like may be full of asbestos....
We have been staying at this hotel for several yeas on our trip to Canada and it has always been clean, comfortable and met all our needs. Their policy for breakfast at the adjacent Perkins has been reduced to a $3 off coupon.
Great place to stay if you have a dog and you can eat the Perkins in the hotel its great to have dinner or breakfast at. Make sure to stop at the Cheese house next door too. The staff at the hotel is friendly and helpful to all your needs.
Hotel is very clean. The staff was very friendly. As I said, the shower pressure was excellent and I love that! Breakfast was different. They gave you a coupon for the Perkins next door. I would recommend it.
We stayed here last year, so that is why I chose the hotel. When we arrived they told us the hotel has switched owners, therefore free breakfast is no longer included. You do get a $3 coupon per person for perkin's that is connected to hotel. The room did have a little smell but it was fine. the beds are very comfortable and the front desk person was very helpful and pleasant. We went to Smitty's for dinner and that was good and the server was pleasant. I would stay here again.
A simple place and nice place to stay. Wonderful staff and close to highway. a remodeled facility, easy to get around the facility and just enjoyed the time spent. There is a Perkins next door with a lounge and completes the success of the hotel
Rooms decent, clean and satisfactory, but had an early morning and chose hotel due to proximity to interstate and free breakfast. There was no free breakfast, instead gave a coupon for $3 off at attached Perkins.
The lobby was great . The room was a look walk from lobby . The corridors was departure from the great looking lobby. Room was clean.Breakfast option was at Perkins, which was the best part. Customer service is great.
If you want a nice highway stop and it happens to be near Tomah, this is the hotel for you! Clean and recently updated, the hotel is also solid with no creaking floors. And at the price, you could do worse!
This hotel is a little dated, but the customer service was exceptional! They offer a free breakfast at the attached Perkins. The staff at the Perkins were friendly and fast. The food was hot and fast too!
Overall we had a great experience, the best part was the dog park, we normally do not stay in a hotel with our dog but did not have a choice due to a family emergency and my dog loved running in the little dog park it was so close to our room so wasn't much trouble to take her out. The pool area was clean, the rooms were nice and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying there again in the future.
Typical Best Western rooms. Clean with all essentials and big enough. The staff from front desk to housekeeping was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Same goes for the adjacent Perkins staff (free breakfast voucher included). This hotel offers an exceptional value.
My wife and I stayed here one night while passing through. Check in was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The HVAC was good (with a fan "ON" setting for white noise). No highway noise that we could tell. Vouchers for breakfast at the attached Perkins was a bonus--very convenient and good food. Overall, an Excellent value for our stay.
Grabbed this room via Internet discount deal. The room was spacious, fresh, and clean. The staff is courteous. The bed was very comfortable. Perkins Restaurant is attached with vouchers offered for a hot breakfast. This was an outstanding value and a great stay.
Near the end of a long 1800 mile trip in terrible weather we were short our destination of Fond u lac, WI. We stopped in Tomah and stayed at the Best Western. Everything about this place I liked. It is an older property but well maintained and kept. The room was clean and comfortable and WARM. All hotel staff I encountered were beyond friendly and very helpful. A free breakfast from Perkins is included in the fair price of the stay. The staff at Perkins were great too! My only complaint had nothing to do with the hotel but a neighbor who began slamming their hallway door at 6am and thoughtlessly slammed their door 6 or 7 times. What a pleasure to visit a hotel with such amazing hospitality after a long and hard trip. Normally I would have pushed on, arriving at my destination after midnight but I am so glad I stopped at this hotel. Not sure how I will do it buy I will include this hotel in my future travels.
one of the best hotel stays i have experienced in 44 years thanks to guest-friendly hotel staff and amenities-i would highly recommond this lodging to anyone wanting exemplary service;i was there for 4 days.
I enjoyed the Aquamer products as well and the staff was very friendly. I would stay here again when in the area. Convenience to the highway. Free breakfast and work out room ... all the amenities. The room was quiet but not a lot of guests in the hotel
Best place to stay in Tomah :-) Stay here almost every other weekend for work. No Problems. Always friendly service. Great Food & Drinks. Nice Pool. Easy Check in process and express check out service.
We stopped for a one night stay and were pleased to get a room at this very nice motel. The staff was friendly, the place was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were very pleased with the Perkins that was connected to the building. We ate there when we arrived and then again the next morning. The motel provided a voucher for breakfast which was much appreciated. The food was excellent.
Just needed a room for an overnight stay in the Tomah area, and this Best Western suited my needs just perfectly. Situated just off of the highway, it was easy to get to, and with the connected adjacent Perkins restaurant, not having to go back out in the sub zero cold was a great feature! Room was comortable, clean and fresh in all regards. Will definitely stay there again.
Nice pool area which includes hot tub and a very hot sauna. Breakfast is included which is from the attached Perkins restaurant. Friendly staff. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The place is starting to show its age but was a good value. Easy interstate access from I 94 which can't be said for all Tomah hotels.
We checked in late and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist (from Florida). She indicated we were her last guests to check in and was ready to serve us. The room was clean; bed comfortable; shower clean. All we needed for our one night stay. We grabbed a voucher for our breakfast in the attached Perkins restaurant. Small town with friendly service. We walked through the pool area and it looked well maintained.
Friendly staff, nice room & bathroom. I just needed a bed and a shower, and I got that for a good deal. The free breakfast was a voucher for eggs, bacon or sausage, and toast/biscuit/pancakes at the Perkin's that is attached to the Best Western.
Great value and accommodations were perfect. We had a group of 12U hockey girls staying for a tournament with parents etc. Lots of room in pool area which was a nice surprise, usually they are small an loud.
After a long time in the car it was nice to be met with the sweetest front desk clerk... cute sense of humour too! She checked us in quickly and was so considerate when I asked her for a quite room... No problem. We stayed at the rear of the hotel in a room facing the courtyard (no vehicle noise) and not too close/far from the doors (no people noise). We entered a 100% clean, fresh bright room. The bathroom was sparkling, and loved the rubber ducky on the toiletries. Kim, our chambermaid clearly does a professional job all around. Thanks KIM!! The king size bed was comfortable and the pillows were good too. WiFi signal was strong (and free). The front desk person in the morning was on point too, providing us with vouchers or our breakfast.. quick and easy. Perkins served up a wonderful meal... pancakes absolutely ROCK.. fluffy! We were well rested and ready for the rest of our journey. Great hotel off the freeway.
We stayed at a Best Western in Madison, WI just off the freeway and staying at this Best Western in Tomah, WI was like night and day. The room was clean and fresh, and the bed was so comfy! My husband and I slept well and what a relief after so many hours of driving. Big thanks to Kim - the chambermaid who prepared our room for us!
The hotel itself was very clean and its staff professional, but from the welcoming gift bag (with ball and dog treat) to the enclosed off-leash area, this turned out to be the perfect spot to break up a 2-day car trip with our dog. Although close to the freeway, the room was very quiet.
This is an older hotel that is kept very clean. Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable. I have stayed here many times. This is one of those hotels where nothing is really outstanding but then again nothing ever goes wrong either. And there is a bar too!!
Loved my stay in Tomah! What a great staff & property! Friendly from the moment of check-in. Everyone from housekeeping to guest services were awesome! Internet service was great, rooms were spotless and such a friendly place!
Second time staying at this hotel this year and was not disappointed. Friendly, helpful staff. Awesome enclosed dog park that allows you do let your dog off leash with no concerns of being able to escape since it is an interior courtyard. Attached Perkins restaurant serves good food. Even though property is adjacent to freeway entrance, there is no freeway noise to disturb sleep.
Everything was very nice. Staff helpful to any questions I had. Added bonus is restaurant & new lounge on premises, No leaving the hotel for these activities! Hotel was not over crowded, I would recommend, and planning another trip soon.
This hotel is clean and quite. The parking lot has very poor lighting. I guess I just don't understand why hotels always put guest using CLC in the very back of the hotel. I am no different then any other guest. I went out at 11:00pm to get something out of my truck and the parking lot was empty. So I guess what I am trying to say is if you are checking in and paying with CLC be prepared to be put in the back away from other guests.
Was very good at helping us with last minute arrangements for both rooms and dinner at the restaurant for our family reunion. We had all reservations made for another small town---which lost power for the whole town and we were scrambling at the last minute to move all of our plans to your Tomah site. Very impressed with service as well as facilities,
While the facility was very clean and has been renovated, we were disappointed to find a nice, large king room but no table, lamp or outlet on one side of the king bed - very inconvenient! The heat in our room set off the smoke alarm but we were not offered a solution to the problem. Luckily we were able to stay warm enough in spite of the 30 degree temps outside that night! The phone message light blinked continuously despite two calls to the front desk.
Wonderful Best Western to stay at. Very clean, nice room, very nice décor. Courteous, polite, very helpful, well groomed staff. Nice pool area, great amenities, pool, sauna, whirlpool, exercise room, computer room. Conveniently located on highway. Excellent quality for price paid. Would recommend, A+++
Room was clean, beds were not the worse but simply weren't comfortable (very firm), wifi was good most of the time, free select breakfast at Perkins (accessed from hotel) was nice, bathroom somewhat updated, fridge and micro always a nice addition, room seemed updated but very cave-like (in need of better lighting)... overall the stay was just okay with the exception of poor sleep - due to firm beds and a room window a few feet from parking lot (heard a lot car doors and key fob honks). The main complaint however would be the location of the room (131) we were in (across from Housekeeping) . This would have been 4 stars except the maids were so loud every morning, it was truly unreal. The maids would gather outside our room first thing in morning and talk (GOSSIP) so loudly, I still can't believe how inconsiderate they were... knowing people are just feet away on the other side of a thin door. They talked and laughed and carried on so loudly that it not only woke us in the morning but we couldn't even have our own conversation inside our room because of how loud they were (it was like they were in our room and we had to try and talk over them). That's crazy. And it continued all morning. Even at noon, they seemed to be having gossip convention again right outside our door, rather then yelling back and forth down the hall. I walked out the room and looked at all of them and said "the hotel should never put guests in our room" and I got nothing but dirty looks as if I was disturbing their gossip. I don't know, but with staff that disrespectful of guests and hearing the things we heard them talk about, we didn't feel comfortable having them in our room for cleaning while we stayed for 3 nights. Hotel management should address this or else just not put people in the rooms across from the maid quarters / "meet-up and gossip loudly" area. Seriously never experienced this before... that kind of behavior from staff rather ruins things. The rest of the staff (maintenance and desk) were very friendly and polite.
An older hotel ,completely restored and modern. A real surprise. Perkins restaurant is one of the best and a must stop for us. We will recommend this hotel to our family as a stop when they travel from Michigan.
We stayed at the Best Western in Tomah, WI. during cranfest. The hotel overall was clean, in a good location, and the staff was friendly. Not much for problems, just a minor one, but staff took care of it right away. Price was a little high, but so was everywhere else because of the event that was going on.
Received voucher for breakfast at Perkins which provided a large selection of options for eating. Nice staff they were very sociable and accommodating at the front desk. I enjoyed the whirlpool after long work day.
I had read some negative reviews of this motel, and felt the need to set the record straight. No, there are no dog (or any other) odors. No, the room walls are not paper thin- our room was as quiet as a tomb. The staff members we encountered were invariably intelligent, cheerful and attentive. We even received a call from the front desk in the early evening checking to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Amazing! The property itself is lovely and well maintained. There is a gorgeous indoor pool and whirlpool, and a nice exercise room. I was delighted to find a choice of two exercise bikes there. These are often missing from small exercise rooms, and I cannot use treadmills. The enclosed dog exercise area is also beautifully maintained and even has a dog house and a clean up station. There are even clothes washers & dryers available for guest use. Our room was squeaky clean and had several thoughtful features. One of my motel pet peeves is a bed with only one nightstand. The unlucky person may have poor reading light and as a bonus gets to use the floor for their nighttime paraphernalia. Not here! Two tables and two lamps. Pet peeve #2 is no night light. I'm sure most everyone has dealt with that annoyance on those midnight trips to the commode. Not here! The bathroom hair drier has a night light, and the vanity lights don't quite shut off- they emit a ghostly glow when turned off- just enough to see by. Also, all of the light switches are illuminated- and the desk lamp even has a night light setting. Oh- and plenty of pillows were supplied. There was even a room maintenance form provided in case anything in the room needed repair. The attached restaurant was surprisingly nice. Motel guests can pick up vouchers in the morning good for $5 off food at Perkins all day. There is even a small separate bar & grill attached. Will we be back? You bet!
