Best Western Syracuse Downtown Hotel and Suites

Front desk staff absent and not responsive, poor neighborhood, access was poor, only one elevator, AC didn't work, tiny room.

This hotel has a great location, friendly staff, and clean rooms, but this was definitely the worst hotel that I have stayed at in the last two or three years. (I am a frequent traveler). My room was in poor condition. The walls had patches, the shower dripped, the lights flickered, the bed was uncomfortable, the blackout curtains wouldn't stay closed, and the shower needed re-grouting. The biggest problem, though, was that the AC vent was right over the head of the bed, and it kept turning on during the night. My particular room also had an odd layout and was very small. Other colleagues staying at the same hotel reported that they had large rooms that were more updated, so I suspect that room quality may vary a lot at this hotel.

The Best Western Syracuse Downtown Hotel and Suites is a fantastic hotel right in the heart of downtown Syracuse within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, theaters, and music venues. There's a small parking lot out back and an overflow lot about a block away. The room was spacious and comfortable, the linens were very nice, and the shower was hot with great pressure! The Wifi was fast and stable and the breakfast buffet was top-notch. Can't recommend this place enough when you visit Syracuse and we can't wait to come back!

The hotel canceled my reservation on the day of arrival due to a "plumbing problem". They moved us to an inferior hotel and stated they "honored the same rate" though the other hotel's rate was $100 less per night. They apologized initially but when I asked if the accomodations at the other hotel were comparable (we had booked a suite at the first hotel) they said "I don't know". I asked if they could find out and they said they could not. They said the other hotel was "only 1.6 miles away" which is on the other side of the city entirely. I asked for email confirmation of the new reservation and a call back to confirm if the room was comparable. I was promised both and received neither.

This hotel received a low score due to the rude and dismissive attitude of Holly D at the reception, as mentioned in other reviews. Despite multiple attempts to contact the hotel by phone to request a room on a higher floor or away from the noise, I was repeatedly put on hold. When I finally checked in, I politely requested to move to a higher floor or away from the noise, but Holly D was extremely dismissive and stated that the hotel was sold out unless I had communicated in advance. She didn't even bother to offer a warm apology or smile. The room itself was spacious and had a kitchenette and sofa (which she claimed was already set, but it wasn't). The location was great for dining, but the noise from the streetcars was sometimes disruptive. Overall, Holly D's attitude ruined the entire experience. She should be properly trained or should not be in the hospitality industry. If she had been more accommodating or at least warm and polite, I would have returned to this hotel.

Great convenient location. Nicely decorated room (king suite). Good temperature control, clean, comfy pillow assortment. Bed is quite firm which is better than a divot in the middle or edges, but a bit more comfort would have been appreciated. Many windows in the suite which I like during the day but they apparently aren't thick enough to keep out the street noise even 6 floors up. Kind of expected to hear cars and traffic but surprised to hear people talking on the street. Also, when the guy next door sneezed, it woke me up and I thought there was a stranger in the room.

I chose this hotel over the Hilton because of price and walkability to a show at Hinds Theatre. Huge regret. They charge you for early check-in (such a joke) and parking, which was not clarified upon making the reservation. This was a Wednesday in Syracuse. I paid less staying in NYC a week later. The folks at the front desk were too busy watching TikTok to even say hello or look up as we walked by. I had to reach out and ask why there was an unexplained $50 charge, in addition to the room reservation. They chalked it up to parking (in a near empty lot, surrounded by homeless people) and early check-in. I travel a lot and have never had to pay for early check-in; either the room is available or it isn't. No transparency up front. Service and nonsense charges aside, the room was spacious. If anyone is on the fence about where to stay for a show or event downtown, I'd look elsewhere.

Claddic hotel with 100 year old character anf modern conveniences. Rooms are big. Super friendly staff. Plenty of food options nearby. Complimentary coffee all day. Great value for a downtown hotel.

The hotel is a two minute walk to the historical Landmark Theater and within a 10 minute walk to the top five historical sites. The front desk staff was friendly and everyone provided excellent hospitality. The hot breakfast was excellent with all the additional items like cut fresh strawberries. I would recommend anyone to stay here for a visit. It's only ten minutes from the Amtrak train station.

Excellent location! Walking distance to a wide variety of local restaurants and shops, and only steps from the Landmark theater. Continental breakfast daily with standard options. The true highlight of my stay was the staff, especially Keke. I arrived after a very long, very hellish day of travel and she instantly brightened my day. She got me checked in quickly and gave me a rundown of the property, while engaging in friendly conversation with me. She made me feel so welcome and like I was right at home with friends. The breakfast attendants did a great job of keeping the area stocked and clean. The other front desk agents I interacted with over the weekend were all so kind and eager to help. The room could use some updated touches and sound proofing as the walls and windows seem very thin, but it was certainly not unmanageable. This is a historic property and I loved the character and nods to its history. Huge thanks and many kudos to each and every staff member that was on shift Dec 5-8, I am so grateful for your hospitality!

Nice hotel. Rooms are very nice. It is in downtown. Parking may be an issue. During street parking you have to deal with beggars. Staffs are very friendly.

Website does not give information about parking & was impossible to find, front desk does not answer the phone, dirty room, bed not comfortable. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the proximity to the colleges.

I tried to cancel my reservation with no prevail and then I kept getting emails and texts on my upcoming stay. I NEVER STAYED AT THE HOTEL. I WAS BILLED FOR IT, BUT DID NOT STAY THERE. And I am still getting survey emails to rate my stay. I am very upset and frustrated that I was CHARGED AND DID NOT STAY THERE. AND, am still getting harrassed with messages.

Room was super small but served the purpose. Was clean and well stocked. AC was broken in hotel while we were out at our friend's wedding. When returning to room late evening our air conditioning not on. We called front desk and learned it was the entire building. The noise from the street was loud from our room not very sound proof/insulated. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Upon checking out the staff gave us a full refund.

Absolutely horrible! Nothing in the room worked. The room was filthy! Lighting in the bathroom is poor. Stay away! Go elsewhere

This Best Western is very unique, and easily my favorite Best Western experience. The building was built in 1924, originally the Hotel Syracuse. That upscale classic luxury carries over into its current incarnation. Even with the modern beds, lighting, etc, something about the building paired with the view felt extra special. I've got to take a second and show love to the staff. One lady at the desk in particular had to put up with explaining at least three times to me where I should park, and was at 100% kindness and patience the entire time. I have no intention of ever staying in a different hotel in Syracuse. Book this Best Western.

The best thing about the hotel is the location right downtown. We never needed the car for most of the things we did in Syracuse. We had a suite that was nothing spectacular but clean and comfortable with a little kitchenette. There's a decent small gym. The staff members were friendly. The buffet breakfast was also decent (though why do American hotels insist on plastic plats and utensils, creating such waste?). I have a bit of grumble that they charge for parking but only have a few places at the hotel, instead sending most people to a lot about two blocks away.

We had a nice stay at this hotel for 3 nights, we had an upgrade to a suite which was a great room! The breakfast was included and was good with a variety of foods. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking was limited, and you had to walk down the street to park but really not a huge problem other than it was cold in January! The hotel is close to bars and restaurants in the downtown area.

motel claims to be a 4star hotel ,I stayed for 5 days and my room was never cleaned ,to get clean towels I had to take used towels to front desk and request clean towels. Hotel also charged me $15.00 a night to park my vehicle, I will never stay again or recommend this hotel.

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at for more than one night and I have been to terrible places. We stayed for two nights, the room was tiny, it was an airless showbox even w the AC on full. 11th floor, no view bc of the furniture. The furniture covered the windows, but that's ok bc the windows don't open. The bed was lumpy, the pillows were tiny, thin and felt tired. The bathroom was both moldy and poorly built. We did not shower. Parking was limited but you can pay $15/day to park in the lot out back but they oversell the parking so when you leave there may not be any space when you come back. The desk told us it was fine to park on the streets. It's not! we came back the next day in the afternoon and the car had been towed, $300. The only advantage to this hotel is location everything else about it was tired, expensive and heading rapidly towards gross, and my standards are low.

Very good experience, and a really good value. No negatives at all. Friendly, responsive front desk, clean room with full kitchen facilities and bathroom, nice breakfast included. Would definitely stay here again. The rest of this review is simply to satisfy Tripadvisor's insistence that all reviews have at least 200 characters.

As always a great stay at a great hotel. Ali and more importantly Santana really stood out as staff members who made my stay a great one. The rooms were perfect, free breakfast looked good and the overall experience was just what I'd expect from this hotel. I've stayed here before and I will stay here again and recommend that friends do the same.

Staying at the Jefferson Clinton BW is like staying with family - the staff is friendly and attentive. We were very well taken care of and every member of the staff had a smile and made us feel at home. The only bad thing was the mountains of plastic thrown away at breakfast.

Steve at the front desk was really helpful! We had a large party and was very accommodating to the large group! The one negative, which we personally did not have an issue with, is someone the AC went out in some of the rooms. We did not try out the breakfast, but looked decent when we walked past.

The beds and pillows are very comfortable and fluffy. Great location, easy parking, fresh breakfast and convenient walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The staff is friendly and attentive. The lobby is bright and quiet for a coffee and laptop work.

Great place to stay if you'd like to visit Amory Square! Very close to walk around the city. Hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Continental Breakfast was good as well! The hotel provides very close parking opportunities for equal pricing of the local parking garages.

King suite was perfect for transitioning from camping with friends back to an intense professional obligation out of town. I needed to print a last minute document and the lobby desktop and up to date printer worked perfectly. My suite was fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The hotel met my request for a bathtub to soak my bones coming off of a rigorous camping and hiking trip. I will return for my next work obligation in Syracuse!

Hotel is clean and comfortable and in a good location in a nice part of downtown Syracuse. We significantly overpaid because we stayed over Syracuse parents weekend but otherwise I would have thought it was a good value option. The hotel bills itself as a historic hotel but there was absolutely nothing historic about it-just a generic Best Western. Fitness center is really lame with only weights and 2 functional machines and should be upgraded. Otherwise fine as it is clean, comfortable and convenient to many restaurants and to the university-a 10 minute Uber or Lyft ride.

While the hotel was clean, our room was clean, and the breakfast was good, the hotel front desk staff, particularly a person named Holly, who seemed to be a manger, was very unfriendly. She didn't speak when I said good morning, and refused to give me a bottle of water, because I wasn't an Elite Member. I paid $309 per night for the room, but was not entitled to water because I wasn't an Elite Member. I will not stay here again.

Bring snacks.... they have NO food available and charge outrageous prices for a bag of chips and a candy bar..... drinks were $4 and chips were $3.59 for a single serve bag. Highway robbery. Friendly staff...place is ok but they had no washcloths either....

Avoid No safe parking for a car full of my daughter's college stuff, after a 9 hour drive I had to spend over an hour searching for a safe place to park a fully packed car, no held from the front desk staff. Overpriced $525 a night during Syracuse student drop off days Dirty, old and tired Coffee machine in lobby out of order, they only give you 2 pods for the in-room Keurig Painfully slow elevator (there is only 1 so we walked down from our 8th floor room) Shocked that Best Western puts their name on this place

Clean, spacious room in a charming historic the lobby was updated and is a great place to socialize with other guests. Hallways (and even staircases) are filled with local pictures and art, adding to the overall look and feel of the hotel. The manager was skilled in providing the best experience, and I noticed a great deal of teamwork across the staff. This is a prime example of hiring excellence, and I watch her lead a highly effective staff. This should be an example to any owner looking to turn around their hotel.

Disappointed overall. Price paid did not reflect the hotel. The room was dark, drab, dirty carpet, stained lamps. Breakfast was very basic. Hotel photos online were deceiving as the overall feel of the hotel and room were lacking. We paid $400 for one night and would not return - at that price point we expected a lot more. Also, we were told the doors are always locked for safety and a key card is needed to get in but when we returned to the hotel at 10pm the side door was propped open and we walked in off the street - no card needed!

This place was great and centrally located. The suites were big with a full apartment fridge, dishwasher, microwave, sink, silverware, plates. It had a 4 seat dining table, pull out couch, 2 TVs, a closet with hangers, large bathroom. It was really great for a longer stay.

The location is great--we walked everywhere in the downtown area. The room was comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was large. The kitchenette area was useful. The room was clean and comfortable. We did not hear street noise and we slept well. We paid to park in the small hotel lot and felt the car was safe there and the price was reasonable---it seemed to be the best rate of the downtown area hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was typical of this type of hotel. I would likely stay here again if returning to Syracuse. Although there are nice historic photos of old Syracuse in the hotel, I wish the lobby/check in area had a historic look to match the exterior.

Just enjoyed this place so much. Rooms are smaller but up to date great breakfast included walk to so many restaurants and clubs. Had the best time. Can't wait to go back Walk to Dinosaurs restaurant and great Mexican Irish restaurants it's the best

HEAVENLY PLUS.... far and above many of the BEST WESTERN PLUS properties we have frequented....some are so/so truly NOT pluses (but, why complain?)...NOTHING ever changes. This downtown - center city SYRACUSE, NY - B W PLUS certainly measured up to not only a "PLUS" but rather a "PLUS-PLUS. Everything in working order - carpeting ; plush - bathroom immaculate - room large - very clean AND SPACIOUS - breakfast plentiful HOT with a nice selection.....STAFF was friendly and hard-working...AND a lady who always "seemed" to be present, doing this and doing that as well as interacting with guests and work - work -WORKING we later learned was a lady named "STEPHENIE / STEPHANIE the BW'S property general manager.....talk about a plus....this is a truly earned "PLUS" when a GM leads by example......totally IMPRESSED!!!! Worst experience with Best Western and a hotel in general. Room smaller than a dorm, stained sheets, dirty light fixtures, what appeared to be hair oils on the head board. Plus additional charge for parking. Will steer as many people away from the Syracuse Best Western as possible.

My wife and I traveled to Syracuse for a medical procedure. This location was the closest to our appointment. So we thought it would be the best place to stay. Oh, how wrong we were. The parking situation is terrible. Late night staff were standoffish and rude when asked to explain parking procedures (we were a late check in). Being in a non smoking room our room reeked of weed. They do not offer a maid service! For the price we paid I would think that would be included. The TV remote did not work. When I called for a channel guide the front desk told me to Google it because they didn't know.... So we tried to use our streaming services but couldn't due to the age of thier tvs. The day time staff was very respectful and responsive. And the location is great you are in walking distance of tons of local eateries and bars. If you can look past how hard this hotel drops the ball the location might make up for it.

This is my go to place to stay when visiting my daughter who is a student at Syracuse University. It is conveniently located with a 10 minute drive to campus and walkable to many restaurants. I've stayed at this property 10 times in the past three years. Staff is friendly and helpful; rooms are always clean and the bedding is comfortable. The prices are reasonable.

At booking was told it was last available room. Before checkin I showed their website with open rooms over $100 cheaper than my quoted rate. This was not honored and IMO very poor practice. The room we got for $440 faced a parking lot and brick wall. The toilet didn't flush and the bed was very uncomfortable. It was just a one night sleepover but if I had to do it again I would be more insistent.

Booked 2 bed suit. Recieved 1 bed. Had to squeeze 3 of us in 1 bed. When I checked my reservation it was changed to 2 adults instead of 1 adult and 2 kids. The area around the hotel is noisy and could hear people yelling outside. Not the hotels fault but be aware you can hear someone yelling outside from the 10th floor!

This hotel is in a great location parking is limited the breakfast was a good value temperature in the room was not working properly staff was very friendly the smell of weed in the hallways were unbearable.

Be aware that the rate that you booked via BestWestern.com may NOT be the final rate that you are charged on arrival. I noticed a small increase when I checked-in and the front desk replied that they could not help even though I provided a copy of the original reservation. I emailed BW customer service, no one was willing to try to correct. Room was nice.

Room large, clean, bed extremely comfortable. Within walking distance to everything. Front desk person very helpful and upbeat. Near the Most museum also and downtown establishments. Really had a nice time and would recommend this hotel. We were there for a wedding at Sky Armory which is just across the street.

When we showed up on the 31st, we got room 1105 and the room was set to 63 degrees and we could not change it. None of the 3 phones in the room worked. We let the front desk know about both issues and nothing was ever done. We went out to dinner for over an hour and when we came back, still no heat. Still no phone. We got ready to go out for the evening and when we left asked the front desk for heat AGAIN. Came back around 1 in the morning and STILL NO HEAT! STILL NO PHONE!! Decided it wasn't worth the time to try and get anything done for us, so we pulled the bed couch out, and my friend went to lay on it and we couldn't. The bed cover/mattress/memory foam whatever was COVERED IN PISS!!!!!! Your worker in the morning was of absolute no help. All she offered to do was credit me for parking and the 2 water bottles we got. This was literally the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Econo Lodges were and are more accommodating. I will NEVER recommend anyone EVER go to a Best Western, especially the one in center city Syracuse.

Hotel staff was very nice, parking was ok but better to get in the adjacent lot if you can, only for convenience. The gated lot isn't far though, nice to have for overflow. Location is perfect & breakfast was a nice addition. Will stay again next time in Syracuse.

The hotel was extremely clean, spacious and exceeded all expectations. The receptionist were very helpful when asked for recommendations. Perfect location for the event we were attending. We will definitely stay there again if in the area!

Had the pleasure of staying here last night. While downtown was rather busy, the staff there kept everything moving smoothly. Holly, Doleanna, Elicia and Stephenie were just some of the staff members names I caught. While the building is old, they've done an amazing job bringing it up to date. The room was very spacious and clean. It was almost as big as my first apartment. Smack dab in the middle of everything. I know I'll be back.

We had a lovely stay and it's 6 minutes from campus. The hotel was clean, close to school and full breakfast spread. We will definitely be back. I booked almost 6 months ago to have it for Parents weekend.

Great hotel and excellent stay. Rooms are clean and the suite was huge with everything we needed. Best hotel eggs I've ever had in a hotel…excellent job Antoinette! Morning breakfast buffet delicious and very clean. Definitely recommend to all the Canadians coming to shop…downtown core is very pretty.

I stopped for the night with my partner before we headed to the State Fair the next day, the rooms were great and Breakfast had a lot of variety. The employees we welcoming, the hotel was also very secure as you need a room key to get in the building. It's pay to park in a lot but street parking was free from 6pm-9am so we attempted to leave before then the next day.

Room was nice but could have used more lighting and a bathroom fan. Bathroom was a little too close to the bed. Breakfast buffet should have been more closely monitored. Lobby was pretty. Beds were comfy.

The room was clean, spacious too. There's a small kitchen if you want to prepare food. Breakfast was great and included. Only downside was there's sometimes the smell of recreational smoke around the building at night and you may ran into some bums asking for change. During the day it was quiet and peaceful and it's within the downtown core.

Well-located in downtown Syracuse, this is a well-kept older hotel that did not disappoint in any way. We'd (and probably will) stay here again. Just be aware the rooms are a bit small by American standards. Parking on-site was very easy. Nasear at the front desk was particularly effifient and helpful.

I absolutely love this place … the people are friendly, rooms are awesome, area is awesome. If you're heading to the landmark, this is the place to stay! Lots of great places to see downtown Syracuse!

We traveled to Syracuse and chose this hotel because its in the center of the everything. There are cool bars and restaurants, and everything was walkable. It was great not having to get in the car to do everything. We had dinner at Margaritas Mexican and dessert at the ice cream shop in Clinton Square, then went to funk and waffles to see a band. We also found some really unique bars that had outdoor courtyards. Since it was a beautiful night we were still able to have a drink, listen to music and look at the stars. The hotel has a cool vibe and we enjoyed our room, we had two TV's! The staff was friendly and free breakfast was a plus! We will be back!

I don't even know where to begin...I'll start with the parking situation. The parking lot is small so they have a parking lot about a block away but you need a key fab to open it and the hotel only has 2 fabs. When we were there they were both being used so we had to find street parking. The room itself was very dark, not enough lighting. The water never got hot, only luke warm. The drains (kitchen, bathroom sink and shower) were very clogged so you had to shut off the sink when brushing your teeth as the sink would fill up, shower and kitchen sink were also horrible. We stayed at this location last year when it was being renovated and it wasn't great but we gave it a second chance. We used to stay there when it was the Jefferson Clinton and really enjoyed it. Sorry to say we won't be back.

We love staying at unique hotels and we weren't disappointed with this one. The hotel and even the room had really cool details, such as black and white prints of local sites. The front desk was able to answer all my questions about the history of the hotel and the general area. This made me really happy because its so interesting.

We were celebrating our anniversary going to a show at the Landmark Theater and dinner. Everything was great! We were happy with our room, it was huge! Bonus on the free breakfast that had a little bit of everything. We will definitely be back again when we are in the area.

Jefferson Clinton Best Western, Downtown Syracuse NY. June 2023. Presidential Suite Extremely Disappointed Be advised: Though advertised as “Recently Renovated”, The renovation is by no means complete! Our room had some fairly new looking furniture that's it. The carpet was worn and filthy throughout. The kitchen floors were sticky and dirty. The room had not been dusted in quite some time. It was literally possible to write my name in the dust. After five nights, my CPAP machine smelled of mold. The manufacturer's lab results found mold and dust. They confirmed it needed to be completely refurbished. Not cheap! When we asked for service, we were then advised that housekeeping only comes every three days. It seems to be standard these days for expectations to be set by telling guests on arrival or advising with a note in the room. When we came back after requesting service, we found the floor still dirty, all the dust still there, the blanket thrown and left on the floor. And they treated us like they were doing us a favor! It was apparent staffing was shorted handed, poorly trained and consequently short with guests. We had to call down to the desk four times with three different people figuring out the problem before the TV was sorted out. Very limited stations. Virtually no customer service except Stephanie, who did a great job of holding the place together. Without notice, the elevator stopped working and we had to walk down ten flights of stairs. Like many urban areas, the later in the evening the more incidents there are and the less safe it is. There used to be an evening security officer looking over things. We didn't see one this time. Even on the tenth floor street noise was very loud at night and went on until after four a.m. on Friday night. We had trouble falling and staying asleep. And as a final insult, when we were packing to check out, the AC vent fell from the top of the wall and just missed landing on my foot. Copy to Best Western: Please provide more adequate staff to keep the rooms clean, respond to requests and keep guests safe. And by all means complete the renovation of this iconic hotel. Right now, the service and unclean conditions are a blot on your reputation.

A group of us booked this hotel. They got the reservation wrong for a bunch of us, their mistake. When we noticed they had the wrong month down and called to fix it, they would not honor the price that was originally quoted to us. They totally price gauged us and the ones that they made a mistake on are now paying over $825 for one queen bed for two nights (an insane amount for 2 nights in a Best Western in downtown Syracuse). The person on the phone was apparently the manager, but she wouldn't give her name. She also wouldn't give the name of the person she reports to so we could let them know the erroneous mistake that was made. They have shady business practices with no morals so I wouldn't trust a stay with them.

WARNING - POSSIBLE BILLING SCAM Let me first say that the hotel itself and the staff over the weekend of 11/11-11/14 were OUTSTANDING. The young women at the desk were the most pleasant. The reason for my rating is due to the sketchy billing practices. First, I paid a deposit on 8/30/22 in the amount of 164.57 with the remaining amount of 329.11 to be paid when I was in Syracuse. When I arrived, they could not "find" the deposit although I had my mobile bank app show that it was paid. I was then charged the full amount of 493.68 which meant I was overpaying by 164.57. Now, on the 16th of November, my card was charged an additional amount for parking (which was fine, but I only used 2 nights, not the three I was charged for). I called and I tried to explain to the young lady on the phone but she repeatedly interrupted and then started yelling at me to shut up and it was her turn. I just want my extra 164.57 deposit back which was for the first night stay and she refused. I alerted her that I would dispute with the credit card/bank and I hung up. I have NEVER had such an insanely rude, yelling person. Just because of her and the sketchy billing (I travel often and this is the first time these kind of practices have been used), I would stay far away from this hotel.

The Jefferson Clinton is a very nice, classic hotel. Walk around and you can feel its history. As an older hotel , the rooms and bathrooms are smaller, the hallways narrower, and there is but one elevator. We find it charming, but it's not for everyone. That being said, it is in need of some care. Noting major- just some fresh paint/wallpaper, new carpeting, touch up to the woodwork. It could be a real showpiece in downtown Syracuse. The Armory Square area is fantastic. Many excellent restaurants and bars within a 5 to 15 minute walk. A couple of reviewers described the neighborhood as being bad or dangerous- we disagree. We've never felt uncomfortable or unsafe. Parking is a challenge. The hotel lot can only handle about 12 cars. There is metered on street parking that becomes free between 6pm and 9am. We look forward to staying there again.

Cons- 1) attempted to put us in a room with a door torn apart and not cleaned. Finally put us in a room on 10th floor, so dirty, torn curtains and trash in dresser drawers ( pictures uploaded) . No offer to compensate after we complained. Check linens, we found pillow cases turned inside out to cover that they were dirty. Found a credit card and a hat on the floor so we know the floor wasn't cleaned. 2) so loud, if you are a light sleeper, good luck. I was up all night. Its in a bad part of town and all night we heard music, motorcycles, cars and sirens. Ac is super loud cycling on and off, we had to turn it down to 60 degrees so it would stay on. 3) i think its wise to be in your room by dark. We watched a drug deal go down right in front of the hotel. Sad for the Jefferson clinton but it's a fact, it is in a really rough part of town, we didn't feel safe. 4) the room was very dirty The dresser drawers had trash in them. Hair all over the bathroom sink from where someone shaved. Filthy. 5) no apologies when we reported the aforementioned problems. No acknowledgment that we were deserved an apology or a discount on parking or anything. When we very nicely explained everything to the desk manager she simply said thank you for telling me. But no apologies or any attempt to make it right. 6) get there early if you want a parking place in their tiny lot. We got there at 3 and were lucky, once its full parking will be sketchy as i mentioned, its in a bad part of town. 7) One elevator for the entire building and it's extremely slow as it is an old building. Tried to take the stairs down and the level below us was blocked with a mattress as they are renovating level 8. What a fire hazard. No one seemed to care when we reported that. Pros: 1) rooms are huge, they have a kitchen, living room and bathroom. 2) Nancy was the only staff person who seemed to be aware and embarrassed by the horrible customer service ( We were stuck in the hallway with our bags waiting for them to figure out why they put us in a room that didn't even have a lock on the door) staff seems to be pretty overwhelmed and under concerned. 3) continental breakfast is good if you like a bagel or English muffin and the rooms have toasters so you can take it up there to eat. Also on offer are granola bars, apples, yogurt, etc. We thought it was pretty good! 4) if you get a spot in their tiny lot, its easy and convenient. 5) beds are comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and extra blankets

The ac and fridge were so loud we could not sleep and every car and person outside we could hear through the thin windows and walls. There was noise from people partying in the hotel past 2am. Never again. Unknown substances on bathroom floor. Prepackaged cold breakfast.

This place is so gross. I can't figure out what went wrong as I was searching for Syracuse hotels. Our first room had something seeming to be tile grout spilling down the front of the toilet. The second room they gave us reeked of cigarette smoke. The dishwasher alarm was beeping and couldn't be stopped unless we unplugged it. The desk lamp was on the fritz; making disturbing hums and crackles as if it were on the verge of blowing. Unattended, outdoor parking was a 1/2 block down the street, accessible by a key fob on a stick and a $12 payment. If you go somewhere in your car, it is necessary to stop back at the hotel lobby to retrieve this one fob-on-a-stick. I was consulted that I could also jump the curb and get into parking if I didn't want to come back for their fob. The hotel has one elevator for eleven or so floors. I don't know how many rooms there are per floor. Imagine the wait time in the morning, around checkout time. Breakfast was pointless. More water in the coffee pot than coffee. On the upside, the room change did set us in a room that had been updated in the last decade. The Airlift Smoke & Odor Eliminator spray the front desk provided us relieved some of the room stink. The location was around the corner of a pleasant restaurant row. We're happy to be out of there and don't expect to ever cross the threshold of that decrepit hotel again.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was adequate. 24 hour locked lobby was necessary. Room cleanliness sub par. Side lobby repository for old furniture. Exercise room unavailable. Visitors placed on Clinton Street side at risk of very little sleep as outside activities, last until 4am Friday and Saturday nights.

I have never written such a bad review of a hotel, but must. This hotel is dirty, has very limited services, and not friendly. Area of Syracuse is dangerous and cars drive around with very loud music coming from their speakers almost all night. Hallways and elevators are dirty. Bedroom and linens were dirty. Bathroom was the same, old and dirty with broken tiles on the floor. Room came with just 2 towels for both of us, and was told there would be NO maid service. I could keep going about the toilet paper, etc. Had to beg for more towels. The front door to the hotel is always locked. Give you an idea of the area. I would recommend avoided.

Great location near Armory Square. Parking is limited but there is a nice parking garage 1/2 block down the street called Clinton Street Parking- 24 hrs for $10.00. We had a handicap room looking out onto Armory Square 3rd floor. Breakfast was included and was very good. Hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from the Landmark. Very convenient. We would stay here again when in this area.

Location was great, but service/cleanliness was bad. Sheets were stained, and no housekeeping services were available during our 4 night stay. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher upon checkin. “Full kitchen” consisted of 2 wine classes. Front desk would not give us silverware upon request. Their response was “there should be some in your room.” I told her we only had 2 wine glasses and 2 dirty plates in our dishwasher. She did not care and would not give us silverware.

We stayed here out of convenience and location to the Landmark theater. We stayed in a presidential suite. The room was clean but lacking in more than 2 sets of everything. To me, if you have a suite there should be more than 2 sets of everything if you have multiple people. It was good for an overnight stay. The breakfast was very lacking. Luckily, there was s Starbucks nearby. We ended up going to an AWESOME restaurant near by for breakfast called FunkNWaffles.

Had a great hotel experience with my college alumni friends. The Accommodations are clean and very neat. Plenty of towels and coffee in the room with a microwave things like that. The manager Holly was very accommodating allowed us to gather in the lobby for some with our friends and gave us some recommendations for restaurants in the area. We will be back next year.

We stayed on our last night when coming home. It was pretty nice. We had the presidential suite as it was not too pricey at all. It was basically one room with a kitchen and a small table along with a TV and a desk. The bedroom was pretty goo sized and had yet another TV in it. I could see while lying in bed that it had been updated not too long ago and looked kind of sharp. The bathroom was fine and clean. When checking in, things seemed a little sketchy as the two ladies working there seemed a little aloof. It was a Sunday afternoon. The next morning the desk clerk was much more with it. The breakfast was something we did not use as the food items were in plastic and needed microwaving and the coffee urn was out of ordre, meaning NO coffee. Starbucks was close by thankfully. We enjoyed the stay in this neat historic hotel.
