I would NOT recommend this place. The faucet in the sink leaked all over the rug, nobody came to fix it. We went out for the day and returned to the faucet in the tub on full blast and tub overflowing. No one came to help clean up the water. Breakfast was poor and coffee was not hot! Will not stay there ever again!
We stayed at this Best Western in late September on our way home after visiting with family in Pennsylvania. I think that for a basic Best Western it was quite nice. I rate it a 3, not because I didn't like it, but because it didn't have the frills that some other Best Westerns do. I was impressed that they served us a decent cold breakfast. They included peanut butter, which satisfied my protein needs. The coffee was good. The people working in the hotel were quite cordial to us. For the price you pay, I don't think you can beat this place if all you are looking for is lodging.for the night. I would definitely stay again when in the area.
The place was pretty clean. However, for a hotel the sheets were very stiff and the beds were awful. We stayed in similarly priced hotels on this same trip, and had much better experiences. I was quite disappointed. The free breakfast was very sparce as well.
The room was large and clean, the linens were good and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all friendly and professional and helpful with recommendations for places to eat and jog. This staff was nothing like like the manager Ashly at the Best Western Premier in Denver, I was on the road from July 3rd until September 38th and she is the only manager I have any negative thing to say, she is extremely unprofessional and has no idea what the word hospitality means and she makes up lies to cover her back side, avoid the Best Western Premier in Denver at all cost!
A hot breakfast consisted of a waffle maker. Where was the HOT WATER??? Had a king bed room and there were 4 mini pillows Reservation made by my wife and they gave her an entirely different location hundred miles away. The lady at the front desk was really helpful.
The room and service exceeded our expectations based on the price. The room was quiet and comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the service was exceptional. Parking was good and close to our room, My wife and I would definitely stay there again.
Thanks for helping us to book a room at the very last minute was very helpful in finding us a room with great rates and close to where we want to be. We really enjoyed our staying at the hotel it was wonderfu and very affordable l would stay there in the future
Not good experience. Toilet clogged from the start. Guests barbecuing downstairs causing smoke to fill room. Loud street noise from trucks. Pet food on bathroom floor. We do not have a pet. Bed comfortable . Sheets clean. Near stores and restaurants.
If you want a nice clean room with friendly staff and an amazingly comfortable bed, come to SureStay Summersville. It's 3 traffic lights past the main business district, but well worth the extra mile or so. No pool or gym. and the free breakfast is minimal, but you can't beat the prices. A Dairy Queen is at the edge of the property, and a Burger King is across the road.
The place looks filthy on the outside, never got to my room. I paid for the room and the desk cleark said he needed a second different card to cover "Incidentals." The guy was wired and weird and I immediatley felt something was amiss. "What incidentals"?' I asked. "Well we might need it in case you trash your room." I was puzzled and refused. Ive been booking hotel rooms for over 40 years and NEVER had any hotel ask for a second different card. he said,"Ive been working in hotels for 19 years and we always do this." That is a lie...In hundreds of hotel bookings this was never requested. Not once. I refused and he wouldnt let me stay in the room I had paid for and said he would not issue a refund either. I was attending a festival nearby and all the other hotels i checked were booked. What a crap show...Its new name is Surewillnotstay.
Clean room, bed was a little hard for my back, nice shower with good water pressure. Room had microwave, fridge, tv, internet and a safe if needed, also had small coffee pot with coffee provided, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. And continental breakfast included
The room was dark and dingy, the air condition was extremely loud and never really cooled the room down. The outside hallway was filthy, the bathroom floor was dirty and gritty, Upholstered chair and bedside lamp were dirty and stained. Coffee was horrible. We would have complained or left altogether but it was late and we were exhausted from driving many hours.
The sure stay hotel part of BWI is really underrated! Room was excellent. Clean and there were no problems. Breakfast was unexpectedly plentiful and area was clean and well maintained. Very quiet and excellent sleeping. No problems and very clean and maintained.
Employees entered the room without knocking even with the sign requesting privacy hung on the door. The power went out, it was 90 degrees and hey had no back up power source, the room got hot and of course dark. We were not happy with our experience at this facility
Not a bad little hotel. Quiet and in a good location to amenities. Room was large. Could use some updating. Bed was comfy. TV was really small.
The hotel is situated right alongside US 19. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, and very helpful. The room was spacious, with two queen-sized beds, a TV, a fridge, a microwave oven, and a shower. There was also a very efficient A/C unit, which kept the room cool. It's a great place to stay.
Very clean, comfortable and convenient Hotel in Summersville W.V. No issues to speak of. Staff is great, and hotel is in a very convenient area close to outdoor activities and shopping in Summersville.
- upon evening arrival found desk staff sitting on top of picnic table outside smoking - credit card payment was not honoured, despite printed out receipt - staff mentioned "middlemen' - called head office and earlier payment cancelled ( then re-paid at motel) in the morning i mentioned my problem with the day manager and was told there was problems with the "new system' - after completing online survey 5 DAYS LATER i get an email explaining that "a new system" was installed and all previous payments were voided. However this was not relayed to me by night desk staff upon check in!! - there is wifi but it is UNSECURE - breakfast was practically non-existent,mainly dry packaged food. Eating area was in a small dark area right beside check-in desk. - pets apparently allowed in the facility which accounts partially for the odours
Last motel on Hwy 19 for 100 miles going north. I had a cat (they only allows dogs for a fee) I had to say no pets since it's in the mountains and it was late at night. Got charge $250 US extra for a $106 room on my Mastercard 2 days later. they said they found cat hair. Cost me $500 Canadian to stay 1 night. Rip-off at best (some places charge $35 for a cat). Never again, they must hate cats. No recourse is their policy.
Easy stop right on the highway when passing through Summersville. Front desk quickly and efficiently checked us in. Continental breakfast was very basic. We opted for coffee to go!
Stayed here for overnight stay on way to florida. Convenient stop off hi way - price was good- but hair dryer & phone didn't work - breakfast included but no eggs. Local attractions by lake were fun to visit. Lots of parking under bright light - front desk was friendly
If you're looking for some place to stay for a quick night this might be it. However, while it says continental breakfast it's not like other hotels. Mainly cereal. The value of your dollar would best be spent somewhere else if you're looking to maximize your dollar. AND the pillows are horrible. Still though, they're very clean and nice rooms.
Convenient to Main Stretch, with Dairy Queen walkable (Burger King across the street; and more only a few miles away). Staff was super friendly. Clean, Very comfy beds, hot water, and solid internet. Walls are a little thin, but very happy for our one-night stay.
Very nice very friendly and great service and the room was very clean would stay again on next vacation was very easy to find off the interstate coffee was there when we got there late at night and the breakfast was very good thank you for making our stay feel welcome
Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms. Basic necessities provided. Fridge with freezer and a microwave were nice touches. Overall, nice stay. Some minor housekeeping misses - gatorade bottle found under a dresser / wash rags heavily stained. For the value, you cannot beat it. Its a nice bed and bathroom for a couple night stay.
We were camping, but the weather was bad so we decided to get a room for the night. I've never heard of SureStay, but for the price and proximity to where we were and it being right off the highway we gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of our room. When I opened the door, the room smelled fresh and clean and the carpet looked new. The furnishing were nice and the beds were comfortable. I did not care for the parking area, it looked to be a little run down and shared with surrounding businesses.
We stopped here on our way home from Florida and loved the beautiful West Virginia country roads thru the mountains to get here. So scenic. Obviously not an area where there are tons of places to stay, but the Best Western was perfectly fine. Older furniture, but it was clean and they were very friendly at check-in and breakfast. Oh and there's a Dairy Queen right in the same parking lot.
This property needs a deep clean of rooms and elevator. I was appalled by how dirty everything was. The floor and rug in the elevator were disgusting. Every surface in the room was covered with dust, grime and unidentifiable crud. The sheets appeared to be clean, as were the towels, which was the only saving grace.
Attended a motorcycle dice run and this hotel was the perfect location . Rooms are comfortable and clean! Staff are courteous and knowledgeable of the area. Price is excellent . Will definitely stay again
It was so easy to make reservations and so nice to treated like family. We and other family members choose this location to get rest on a long trip. The hotel is located by many other businesses and we can shop without traveling very far.
Not the cleanest place I've stayed at. Good location but needs a good cleaning and spruce up. Dirt all around the bathroom floor and tilled area. Looks like it's ready for a modernization in the near future.
We normally do not like staying at hotels or motels where the doors to room are exposed to the parking lot. Thankfully we took our chances! The room was extremely clean and well designed. The staff was kind and generous with seeing we were happy. The following morning we were greeted with a welcoming smile and breakfast! We were very happy with our stay! A great experience! The parking lot is extremely well lit!
We were quite glad to see a BW hotel in this area again. This hotel met or exceeded all our expectations, given that we were just passing through the area. Well worth the stay! The only negative was an extremely slow-draining sink.
Decided to stay due to weather conditions. Was very pleased with everything. Staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. Price was excellent! Slept like a baby. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Great value pet friendly hotel..Our go to on our way home from Florida. Dairy Queen in parking lot is a bonus. Clean. No hot breakfast but for this price?.No big deal. Room was warm on.a.cold night unlike some places with red roofs.
The hotel is simple, the rooms clean and it is in a great location, convenient to everything. Damian at the front desk was such a nice guy and very helpful during our two day stay. We will definitely be back.
We were pleasantly surprised that the price of the room did not lower the quality of the room. It is obviously an older hotel but it was clean and appeared well maintained. For a nights stay during travel we said we would come again in the future. We did not partake of the continental style breakfast. The front desk was courteous
Stayed October 28th for one night on our way to Nascar race in Martinsville. Had enough points for a reward night. To our surprise when we returned home and checked our Visa we had been charged $250. I emailed hotel. They said it was for our pet where excessive pet hair found on bedskirt/carpet. We did not disclose a pet as we DID NOT HAVE A PET. Now trying to get a $250 refund. Spent 2 days on 29th at Days in Wytheville and 31st at Comfort Inn in Mars, pa with no issues from any stays. Why would we bring a pet for 2 days at a Nascar Race (or leave pet in room for 2 days) .....because WE HAD NO PET. The room itself was fine for a free night. Its the treatment of staff after stay which is very disappointing. Good Luck People
Dirty expensive travel back and fourth to Florida won't stay again here . Bathroom wasn't cleaned properly no conditioner in bottle sink wouldn't empty . Very disappointed with Best Westeens Name on this
If you are ever traveling near Summersville WV, it's worth the stop at SureStay for the night. The customer service is very friendly and greeting. The rooms were the cleanest I've ever stayed in at a hotel. The price was very reasonable. You can tell this establishment prides in making there customers comfortable on their stay. A clean room is very important and they've done great on cleanliness!
I arrived to a front desk clerk wearing a sweatshirt that programmed my card for one night instead of the two. I had mold stains (extreme) all over the shower curtain. When I turned on the light in the bathroom there were flies coming out of it. The blanket appeared to have old cigarette burns on it. The refrigerator rattled from loose bolts, which I tightened myself because I wasn't comfortable having any of the staff in my room. Very unpleasant stay and not worth the money considering nice hotels a mile away at just a few dollars more.
Excellent place for staying overnight during our trip. Very clean room with king size bed, the mattress and pillows really comfortable. Old style coffeemaker a little disappointed us, wish it could be upgraded soon!
When we have travel by car south to N.C. we stop at this hotel for the past few years. With it's upgrade to BW SureStay the hotel has had a few upgrades. It is a good value. The rooms are always clean. The front desk staff are always friendly and the coffee in the lobby is usually fresh and hot. The breakfast is good. Nice variety of food.
Such a pleasant surprise. We seldom stay at budget hotels because we can afford nicer. The weather was bad and we had already paid for our campground and there was no refund, also other hotels in the area required higher fees for my small dog. To stay in budget we went with this hotel. It was clean, employees were supper nice (Damion especially). They also offered breakfast, nothing fancy but enough to get you on the road. Water pressure was excellent, beds were comfortable and room was quite. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel is very clean and well maintained. We have stayed there many times and always get a good nights rest. Rooms were very clean , well maintained and they have great water pressure there too! Damien at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Great location in West Virginia if your traveling from Canada to Myrle Beach inSouth Carolina and you want to split up the ride into two days.
Very basic motel. Room was clean and sufficient. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Parking lot was very tight, no parking available close to our room. Had to carry our stuff a fair distance. Dog walk area was quite a distance from rooms. Fine for overnight stay. Right off highway , very near restaurants and shopping centers.
Have stayed here numerous times in the past. The rooms have been upgraded & look great. While the breakfast selection isn't as robust as it was prior to COVID it's definitely adequate. Good location for my purposes & affordable & safe.
Only checked in to nap and shower. Woke up and unable to shower myself or kids because the showers hot water didn't work. Sink is water got hot, but not shower. Reported to front desk and they said they'd “make a note of it” and there's “no maintenance man on weekends”.
The Hotel is very easy to find and access and there is adequate parking. The room was adequate and clean. The bed was comfortable with an overabundance of pillows. Our room was on the second floor of a three story structure. The second night and third night the occupants of the room over ours came to their room well into the early morning were very loud and boisterous and and the floor/ceiling did not muffle their voices or foot stomping.
Very polite staff. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Parking lot very well lit and kept clean daily. We did find it difficult to locate local restaurants that delivered, no local information in the room.
A place to crash, there wasn't anything else available in the area at the time. The room smelled like sewage vent leak or the air conditioner was putting out a putrid smell. Had to ask for extra towels. The room was set up to sleep 4, but not enough towels and wash cloths.
We hope Summersville could prevent huge transport from roaring through and by this hotel. Speed limits should be 30 MPH through the traffic lights nearby. We truly wish for the new owners to be successful.
A decent place to stay in Summersville. Rooms were a little dated but clean. Conveniently located right off of Hwy 19. Short drive to many restaurants. Big downer is the breakfast. Limited choices which was ok but breakfast room has Fox news spewing their bullsh--! Makes it so I won't return! Will pay more to enjoy a place not playing Fox!
Great place, nice room, great shower, clean, breakfast nothing special. Cereal and toast. Coffee good though. Pet friendly but not really anywhere for dogs to do their thing. Our new regular stop in Summersville.
The room was large and very clean. The king bed was super comfortable with soft sheets. Room had a fridge with microwave and shower was great. Front desk ladies were helpful and very courteous! I would definitely stay here again.
This is a budget hotel with outside corridors but worked well as an overnight stop on a long road trip. The room was clean. There was a reasonable breakfast including eggs. I appreciated all the plugs/usb ports for charging phones etc. Microwave and fridge were also in the room.
We were driving through Summersville when we decided to stop for the night. The rates were very good. The location was perfect. The person working the front desk was friendly and check-in was a breeze. The room was clean and comfortable. This hotel offered a few breakfast items (yogurt, toast, etc.) I would recommend this hotel.
I would recommend this hotel . It has a country setting, and was clean. Staff is friendly and desk clerk helped resolve a reservation problem that the reservation phone line could not. They offer limited items for breakfast, yet other hotels in this price range wouldn't offer breakfast at all. So it is a good value.
I was travelling alone, first time a long road trip like this. Great Motel, lovely staff, clean, quiet, and I felt safe. Best nights sleep in a while. Very comfortable rooms, nicely appointed. Will stay again, and have already recommended. Plan is to to stay there my way back.
Easy to find the location of the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Very Clean and nice rooms with good beds and pillows. Good air conditioning. Restful night of sleep. Good internet connection and breakfast to eat.
too many people being allowed to abuse alcohol and drugs on the premesis. it was clean and bug free and pet freindly. but it was very loud and noisy until very late. the price was decent for a nights stay but i also was afraid to return to my car until morning. i do not think my family and i will be staying there again.
Inside of “accessible” room was great with the exception of the stale cigarette smell (non-smoking room). Be careful going into office if you are in a wheelchair though as the door opens out and there isn't much clearance between the door and the edge of the curb.
We had such a wonderful time at the hotel very clean and friendly we found it to be a great location for all the things we did and went would love to go back in the future and it is very affordable to where you can ha w a great time only just wished had more line cereal or muffins juices milk but other than that it's great place to stay
My family and I stayed here for two nights. The front staff was very friendly. I was very impressed by the staff. The room itself was very clean. Sheets and towels were clean. The Wi-Fi wasn't great, but I can't imagine the Wi-Fi would be good anywhere in the mountains. But honestly that was my only complaint.
Perfect location for Summersville Lake activities. Plenty of nearby stores and restaurants. Room was very clean and looked recently remodeled. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Overall, the value was way above what we paid.
We booked this hotel at the very last minute and everything was surprisingly great. The check in lady was very nice. We brought a dog with no problems. And much to my surprise..this was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have been in. Only issue we had was how hot it was and the AC kept shutting off without cooling the room. We didn't report the issue because it was still bearable. Would recommend especially for those with pets
Hotel was Great!! The hotel was located close to everything we were visiting, Very clean and staff was wonderful. We will stay here on you next visit to Summersville WV. Hopefully, they will be able to serve breakfast soon.
My husband and I stay here for one night after a long day of traveling around New Gorge River National Park. We booked via Expedia and had no issues upon check in. They had no breakfast available in the morning; however, they do have a number of restaurants within a few mile driving distance. The room was clean. The king size bed was comfortable. The walls are thin - I woke up twice in the middle of the night - one from the person above us walking on the floors at around 1:30 am and the other next door to us talking normally at around 11:30 pm. After those two instances, I slept comfortably the remainder of the night. The receptionist was friendly. There was no bathtub stopper. All the outlets and lights appeared to work. Despite the minimal issues, it was a comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel if you looking for a cheaper option in the New River Gorge area.
Very nice hotel and the lady working was super nice. I wish there had been breakfast at this location but they did have coffee. The rooms were clean and smelled brand new. The rooms were big too. I would stay again
We did not have a problem with the room and the front desk was awesome. It was the booking and checking in process that was a Huge problem. We booked online through SureStay/Best Western. We arrived there only to be informed that we were not in the system. I presented my confirmation. It took 2 hours to check in!! The girl who was working there was so very helpful and did everything she could to make our booking work. My complaint is not due to the service or room but, the online booking experience as they had Two outright lies-1 was when they presented a cost, lined through it and gave a discounted rate. When we arrived we found out the 'discounted' price was their regular fee and that their rooms were cheaper!! 2- was when they said they had only two rooms but, when we arrived only 5 rooms (out of a hundred or so) were booked!!! All in all, I'd stay there again but, I'll book over the phone.
This is an older hotel with exterior entrances to the rooms. I felt safe and comfortable mainly because this hotel is in a rural area and how can you go wrong when there is a Dairy Queen in the front parking lot! The check in process was quick and the lady was very nice and friendly.
It was a clean, dry place to rest our heads for a pit stop. Staff was friendly, but under construction and very out-dated. The bathroom door put up a struggle to open and close. Elevator floor was plywood.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Mindy Cable, the manager, was great and friendly. This is a very good value as a stopover on a lengthy trip. The location is handy for our purposes and we will definitely return!
My wife and I stayed here for a night after buying a vehicle at a nearby dealership. For the money, it was a good deal. A bit dated, but being renovated. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was average, and the staff was very friendly.
I made the mistake of pushing past my usual stopping points in Statesville, NC and Beckley, WV and got stuck in the dark and rain trying to find a reasonably priced motel on the Highway 19 strip.Because of its location motels can ask pretty much anything they want to push their range out of the "budget" classification. This ECONOLODGE is under renovation so guests who need first floor accommodation should call first. Most other "walk-ins" are relegated to the second floor but there is an elevator. As all rooms in this L-shaped building are not interior access and face the highway this is NOT a stop for light sleepers. In addition to the all-night truck air brakes at the stoplight Room 213 has some additional treats. The refrigerator gurgles like an animal (so unplug it...), the toilet spontaneously flushes two or three times during the night and the old-style HVAC system is far from silent. The carpeting in any motel should NEVER be walked on in socks or bare feet but the carpeting in this room is visibly filthy. The DISH television system has limited channels and any ESPN stations did NOT have the Monday Night NFL game.A few did offer poker and college football games from the 2000's. If you can plan your trip so that you stop in Beckley and do research for more reasonably priced rooms.
I have stayed here a few years in a row when going through WV to meet some friends. Dairy Queen with food right next to it. Rooms are OK. For the price, it is worth staying a few days of you need to be in that area.
