Enjoying our three night stay at the Hotel Ruth. It is always wonderful when a visit exceeds your expectations. Have been traveling through Scandinavia and stayed at some lovely places but this is my first written review because I am so pleased with my experience at Hotel Ruth. The staff have been exceptionally kind and helpful with suggestions and guidance about how to navigate through beautiful Stockholm. However, it is the amazing breakfast that tips this establishment over the top. The coffee machine that grinds beans for each cup, delicious pastries, and an exceptionally large array of fresh and well prepared food make me start thinking about breakfast well in advance of the morning. I'd definitely return to Hotel Ruth on my next visit. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

Our first visit to Sweden to help a daughter relocate. We could not have been made more welcome at Hotel Ruth. The staff were exceptional and wonderful in every respect; friendly, helpful and informative. The number of waiting staff on duty at breakfast was impressive. They were constantly and discreetly clearing used crockery and replenishing the buffet. Our room was refreshed daily by fabulous house keepers. The reception staff were always on hand and ready to help with any enquiry. It is highly likely that my next visit to Stockholm will be alone and if I return to Hotel Ruth it will be a much easier prospect knowing that I would feel very much at home. The staff seemed to genuinely care and take pride in the hotel and their guests. As others have written, beds are comfy, rooms quiet, the lounge area warm and inviting. Breakfast; a banquet of deliciousness. Thank you to all the staff at Hotel Ruth.

Was a little skeptical going in, because often glowing reviews of independent properties tend to be manufactured. But this place delivered. Great staff, wonderful breakfast, good rooms, and really not one thing I can nitpick about. It's a 20-30 minute walk to Old Town Stockholm, but there's enough to see on the walk that it doesn't seem that far. And there are things to do in the neighborhood around this hotel; some restaurants with great Swedish meatballs, for example. We would definitely stay here again if my family is fortunate enough to return to Stockholm one day.

Hotel was amazing, the care, thought and quality of everything was outstanding! We truly enjoyed our stay, the environment was personal and warm , the staff made us feel at home every day! The entire staff was gracious, friendly and responsive to our needs, questions and concerns.

It was our first time visting Stockholm and we think we chose the best hotel. The hospitality was amazing and very friendly staffs with amazing breakfast. It is located in the center of Stockholm and easy access to visit places like Skansen Novel prize museum, public library and so on. The room was very nice and clean. Last but not least, the staffs are amazing! Heart warming and very nice/friendly all the way through!! I will definately repeat!

This hotel is just gorgeous! Lots of lovely artwork to view and stylish room decor. The staff are friendly & helpful- the food was delicious- I would recommend one of their lunch pancakes…. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone all very tasty! My single room was compact, but clean stylish & the bed was extremely comfortable.

Small hotel in a great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was adequate with a modern bathroom and new shower. Breakfast fantastic and dinner excellent as well. We would return there. East access to nearby T-bann (metro) stations and a variety of good restaurants in the neighbourhood

This hotel is simply THE BEST!! I have travelled a lot and stayed in many 5-star hotels. Hotel Ruth is better than most of them. It is cosy, friendly and well located. The breakfast is just marvellous!! We loved it. The staff is great and helpful. We will return for sure! Thank You for your hospitality.

The lobby was very chic. The bed, though high off of the floor, once I climbed in, was so, so comfortable. At the same time, we walked about 7 miles that day. The room was a bit monastic, but I didn't come to Stockholm to stay in a hotel room. The view of houses behind the Ruth was like a fairy tale, but the best part were the BREAKFASTS!! OUTSTANDING. The location was in a residential area, so it was quiet, though easy to get to the Stockholm subway (highly recommend). We had a crêpe for dinner one night ~ divine and they have a good selection of wine in their bar....oh and don't forget to have some of their Marcona almonds with you drinks.

We choose this hotel at random, I simply liked the name but we could not have found a better place to stay. The room was bright and clean with an extremely comfortable bed. The breakfasts were amazing and all of the staff were extremely friendly. Thank you for making our first visit to Stockholm so enjoyable.

Wonderful ambiance and colorful instagram-friendly decor throughout. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and one of the best we ever had! The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood in walking distance from the city center. Our room on first floor faced the street but we did not hear any noise from the street. Indoor parking spaces are available for 400 SEK per day which is a fair price in the city. Our only query is that wifi was slow and unstable. We told the staff who promised to look into it.

What a wonderful stay we had at the Hotel Ruth. The people there are adorable. The breakfast is astounding ! Different kinds of bread, cheese, charcuterie... juices... swedish specialties... The best I've had in a hotel ! The rooms are neatly decorated, the beds are very comfortable. There are boardgames available in the living room. We liked it so much we booked an extra night !

The Hotel Ruth was an absolute delight. Room was lovely, not huge but by European standards very comfortable and lovely windows. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The location great for our purpose and quite quiet for sleeping. Breakfast and related service was outstanding. Front desk service was outstanding at all times and we did ask a number of questions etc. Really loved the decor in all areas. The hotel does not have a gym but does have a relationship with one, 1 block away. That gym was very accommodating and the drop in price very reasonable. Would happily stay at Hotel Ruth again.

Throughly enjoyed our 6 day stay. Helpful and very pleasant staff. Location in a residential neighbourhood, so quiet, but one block away from cafes, restaurants, bars, transit. Breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Breakfast. Great Staff so friendly and it felt like home. So so Cosy!! One of the best Hotel Experiences ever!! We had a room on the 5th floor. Ceiling room. Very cosy and so so quiet. Great!!

I stayed at Hotel Ruth for one night in June 2023, traveling for business. I found the staff to be attentive and professional, which is important when unexpected things happen. For example, when my key card stopped working, staff reacted quickly and sympathetically and fixed the problem. My room was a double on the 5th floor. Being in the 'attic' of the hotel provided charm, if not high ceilings. The room size was OK by Stockholm standards, where rooms tend to be very small. I found it comfortable for one person, but it would have been tight for two people on a longer stay; in that case, a larger double would be reccomendable. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and sleep quality was therefore excellent. There were good blackout curtains on the window, which is important in Sweden during the summer months. Being on the 5th floor meant the room was quiet. The view was nothing special because the rather small window was placed high up (remember this is an attic room) and therefore not a noticeable feature. Nevertheless, the room was not dark. There was airconditioning which was a definite benefit being on such a high floor during an unusually hot spell of summer weather. The hotel has a lot of character, mixing traditional design with modern comfort. The overall style gives a sense of Paris in the 1930s or something along those lines. The style, choice of colours and decor create a sense of comfort and coziness. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of fresh fruit, good coffee, pastries, cereal, meats and cheeses, yogurt, etc - in other words anything you might want. I did not notice whether or not a British style cooked breakfast was available, however, for those who prefer that option. The location of the hotel is ideal in so far as it is on a side street to two of the main boulevards in Stockholm, near public transport and also within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and attractions. Given all of the above, I would definitely return to Hotel Ruth and would recommend it highly.

We came on business and needed to be close to downtown and to public transportation. Both were very convenient. The breakfast is exceptional. Good healthy food prepared on site. We asked for info about some delicious breads, and discovered that we were speaking to the baker. The room was very small. (Room 314) The bed was comfortable, actually one of the best we have had. The bathroom was very tiny, but tastefully decorated and with quality fixtures, though a plastic toilet seat as others have mentioned. The shower took up 50% of the floor space of the bathroom, but had a nice jet and rainfall fixture. As others have said, there was a paucity of places to hang things, both in the bathroom and in the sleeping area. Staff were wonderful. Exactly the people I would want to hire if I ran a hotel in Sweden. We are bringing our adult children back here as soon as we can all get time off. A week at Hotel Ruth offers a great base from which to see all of Stockholm.

We had a one-night stay and we are stoked. Super friendly staff, nice room and superb breakfast with the little extra in form of parmesan cheese, granola and a lovely mango chia pudding. The hotel is reallly cozy, neat and clean. Comfy bed and soft linnen.

Stylish, clean hotel with cozy rooms. We traveled with a baby and had a lot of requests which the staff was very helpful with thorough. The service was very good and you felt welcomed right away. The breakfast is amazing and the quality of the food really ,really good.

The breakfast like many have said is amazing - genuinely world class, and a complete 5* breakfast! The hotel is very nicely done - the ambiance in the lounge and restaurant areas is really nice and generally a nice place to hang out. This is important as the rooms are a little bit on the small side. Beds were lovely and comfy though and en suites also really nice. TV's are good and enable casting your devices for Netflix etc. Overall a great place to stay - great value and would definitely recommend this place for anyone heading to Stockholm and just for breakfast!!

The breakfast was really high quality, everything from the scrambled eggs to the pastries - absolutely above what you would normally find at most hotels. Lovely with Parmigiano, and very good juices. The place is obviously appreciated also by people getting in to have just the breakfast or for a drink late afternoon, the cozy and a bit special lounge being possibly one reason. The location is a few minutes off the area where you probably want to walk but you can still reach Strandvägen in half an hour and the center in even shorter time by leisure walking, and the underground is minutes away, so do not let the map scare you. Quite a few nice places for the evening in the vicinity. The street is very quiet at night. The ventilation system in the room is perfectly silent as well, which is not a given. The personnel is invariably very kind. It is an hotel where you feel at home. The room at the fifth floor was not the most charmful notwithstanding the wooden beams, at least when compared to the rooms in the picture. I will pick another room next time.

I really can't say enough positive things about this hotel. I stayed for a week (part vacation, part business travel). The location is great, breakfast is AMAZING, hotel staff are very kind and the rooms were great - comfortable beds, quiet, the list goes on! You will not be disappointed to stay here.

An excellent and Cozy hotel in the heart of Stockholm. Close to the metro and the city central. Great staff who are genuine and caring. Classic Swedish breakfast with a high standard and varieties. If you are traveling to Stockholm this is the place to stay.

This is the best hotel I've visited in Stockholm so far. First of all, the breakfast was amazing and the staff were super friendly. We had a nice big room with the most comfortable beds. We'll definitely stay there again.

This is an excellent hotel. With hip and cozy decor it is backed up with comfortable beds, large room, terrific lobby which beckons you in to sit. The breakfast bar was amazing with quality choices in juices, breads, eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurts, ganolas and more. May be the best breakfast buffet that I have experienced. To top it off, the staff was friendly, helpful, and always eager to help. A mile from the main tourist area of town, but still had lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend.

We visited Sweden and Norway for 3 weeks and stayed in the Hotel Ruth twice as we were flying in and out of Stockholm, the first time for 3 nights (at the beginning of our holiday) and the second time for 1 night (at the end of the holiday). The breakfast was excellent, both in terms of quality and quantity, probably the best we had during the vacation. Equally, the staff were very friendly and helpful. For some reason, perhaps because we were travelling as a family (3 people), we were put on the 5th floor - the rooms on this floor have no air conditioning, and you are simply provided with an ugly looking office fan - so, naturally you think "let's open the windows" - the only problem with this is that, despite (or perhaps because of) being on the 5th floor, the noises outside echo up the building and you can hear every word of the things people are saying at street level and all the city noise (cars etc.) magnified during the night - in the end we had to close the windows and live with the heat. To me, an office fan doesn't cut it for a top hotel, and the noise from the street (then the heat with the window closed) meant I had the worst nights sleep of the holiday (we only came back at the end because I assumed the first room was a one-off). Then, to top off the street noise and heat, at 7am on the first morning someone started power washing the metal roof above our room (we were on the top floor) - I looked out to see what was happening as I literally couldn't believe the noise, and there was a guy with a power washer blasting the metal roof above our room at 7am! Unbelievable ............ The location is also pretty bad, you can stay in the best part of the front / harbour for these prices, so I wouldn't recommend the location (at least make sure you have Uber installed if you are staying here).

The hotel is wonderful. It's not fancy but so comfortable! The bed was great. Breakfast had a lot to offer beyond typical cakes etc. Front desk women were helpful and knowledge and went above a beyond to help us. Location - about 25 minutes walk to the old city. Buses very close to museums etc. lots of places to eat nearby. Just a tip. The sl system is a little challenging to navigate. You can't pay on the bus - you have to pre purchase. The app was not working. 7-11 sells the cars. Figure it out prior to setting out for the day!

The rooms where a little small, but very beautifully decorated. And the breakfast was truly amazing; all kinds of cheese, meat, boiled and squirrled eggs, a waffle iron, coffee, juices, ... And various deserts. Plus, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you guys! :-)

From the outside it seems very unassuming but inside you discover a lot of attention to design and color. The staff are extremely helpful and eager to please. The neighbourhood is very convenient and residential so you don't feel like a tourist. But there is a lot to explore and some excellent restaurants close by. Only a ten minute bus ride to Old Town and beyond. The rooms are very clean and nicely designed with optimal use of space. If you want large and roomy go for the King room. The Small Queen is small but cozy and very clean. You get a closet with lots of hangers but no drawers and just a couple of shelves. It's a minimalist design and even in the bathroom you have hooks but no shelves. But the absolute best part of this hotel is the breakfast!! It's basically a plentiful brunch with everything (from cakes and champagne to waffles, cheeses and cold cuts to fresh yogurt and marmalades and fruit to scrambled eggs and bacon) to keep you happy and full until dinner time.

From the first moment you walk into this unassuming, charming hotel you greeted with hospitality that signals a good stay. Everyone we encountered was remarkably kind and outgoing. Our standard king on the fifth floor was so comfortable. . .we slept solidly every night. The neighborhood, while not in the very "center" of the tourist attractions ( a plus? yep), is quiet with some good restaurants nearby and a metro station. Breakfast is phenomenal! Pickled herring? Ja! Buttery scrambled eggs, a wide selection of cheese and cold cuts. Salad for breakfast? Why not? Don't forget the homemade granola(s). Dessert buffet in the a.m. Wow! And fresh pressed juices with a shot of ginger if you'd like. Thank you, Hotel Ruth. We're coming back to see you in September!

I loved everything about my stay at Hotel Ruth - such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. From the wonderful check-in experience … to the bag storage facilities at my check out, I was made to feel so comfortable and ‘at home'. The breakfast was first class and my room was very pretty, clean and relaxing. Every single team member was a real credit to the hotel. In particular, the man who was working on reception when I first arrived was fantastic. I would highly recommend Hotel Ruth and I definitely hope to return soon.

The hotel was lovely and the man who welcomed us at reception was incredibly service minded and friendly. The room was nice, clean, light and airy. The plug wasn't working in the sink, but we managed to fix it by other selves. The shower water kept on covering the bathroom floor, so we had to use the floor towel to mop it all up so we could continue to use the bathroom the rest of the evening. A little annoying. Unfortunately the bed was far too soft for us and we both woke up feeling tried and achy. It's an old building so we expected to hear other guests etc so that wasn't an issue. Overall a nice stay with a generous choice for breakfast in the morning. We would recommend, but wouldn't return personally simply because of the bed.

What a lovely hotel in Stockholm for business or pleasure! The newly renovated rooms are tastefully done with exposed hardwood floors and gorgeous tile work in the bathrooms. The lobby / dining area has a very cool, edgy vibe. The breakfast is excellent with creative dishes and a wide variety. As a frequent business traveler Ruth is now at the top of my list along with Hotel Franz! Kudos to the Pettersson family!

What a great hotel!! Stayed here for an extended weekend and was truly impressed with the quality of the hotel. Lovely spacious and light rooms, kind and helpful service and oh wow what a good breakfast, lots of choice between healthy and indulgent dishes! Location is also great, located close to so many good restaurants and walking distance to the city centre! We will return for sure.

This hotel is by far the best hotel in Stockholm. The service it absolutely amazing and the rooms and surroundings are stunning. Very clean and fresh everywhere and the breakfast is great. It feels like a home away from home!

Stayed overnight and it was a fantastic stay. Friendly staff that made you feel special and welcome. Central location. Very cosy and clean hotel, with a great breakfast buffet that included fresh whipped cream cakes (Gräddtårtor in Swedish). Would heartfelt recommend anyone staying at this hotel in the future.

The hotel is still in walking distance from central station and has a nice bar/restaurant. I do like the old-style rooms. The first one was really small, but thanks to Alice from reception, I got a larger one for the second night. The breakfast is really good with many choices.

I recently spent 5 nights at the Hotel Ruth with my son and daughter. It was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences in memory. The staff were all exceptionally kind (particularly Nicolas and his colleague from Gotland who serves as front of house) and took a genuine interest in our stay and our itinerary in Stockholm and the surrounding area. The breakfast also deserves special mention: it is truly unique in its size and quality. The hotel is located in an area that is central to transport links but on a quiet street. As for the rooms, they are certainly large by European standards and in excellent condition. Simply put, we have found our new base for travel in Sweden!

An absolutely charming hotel perfectly located in central Stockholm. Our room was great and the breakfast was amazing. If that wasn't enough, special call out to Alice who was an absolutely charming and fantastic host. Looking forward to out next trip to Stockholm and this will be the only place we stay! -Roger

I rarely write reviews but this really was the perfect experience. Room was spacious and tidy, staff super friendly, and the general feeling of the hotel was world class. Very quiet despite being in the middle of the city, much thanks to the location in a quiet neighborhood. Don't know if all rooms are on the courtyard-side of the building, but mine was and this meant literally zero noise from outside. Never slept better! The breakfast had everything and they even gave me a late checkout for free just because I wanted to go for a run before leaving. Amazing service! All-in-all, this is the kind of boutique hotel you'd expect to find in NYC, Paris, or Milan, but so rare in Stockholm. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Unforgettable stay in Ruth over the weekend. Breakfast, the rooms, and atmosphere are amazing thanks to the great staff. The restaurant was delicious and the place to be in town for food and great cocktails. Will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Ruth with a breakfast only comparable with the one at Frantz. In other words: fantastic! Comfy beds in beautifully decorated rooms, we didn't really miss anything during our one night stay. I do really appreciate the lounge which is colorful with many conversation pieces, probably perfect for hanging out with friends in the evenings.

Without a doubt Stockholm's best breakfast! Then I have tested many hotels in Stockholm. There is honestly no better. Furthermore, the hotel has such nice staff, nice and personal decor, nice rooms and great location. This is really a cozy hotel with a personal and fresh touch for a reasonable price. Will never stay anywhere else.

Fantastic hotel, enjoyed it for a weekend staycation! So nice and friendly staff, great atmosphere and just amazing breakfast! Everything is recently renovated so standard throughout the hotel is high. Definitely recommend!

Hotel Ruth is a lovely boutique hotel just off Odenplan. It's an older building, so don't expect all areas to be 100% accessible, but do expect plenty of character and charm from the moment you enter. All rooms are slightly different in terms of size and bathroom size, but all are fairly Scandinavian cool - think wood floors, cool light features, etc. The lobby isn't big and kind of merges into the bar - I liked that and I thought that it makes for a very cosy & social space altogether. The bartenders know what they're doing and the choice's extensive - so have a beverage or five. Altogether, this is a lovely, family-run boutique hotel with good rooms and great F&B.

What a lovely hotel, staff is extremely service minded and the local family owning this place is really cherishing this gem and their guests. Breakfast is one of the best in Stockholm and quality before quantity. Rooms are spacious and the old architecture is beautiful. Awesome pink rooms too :)

When I entered Ruth Hotel it instantly took me to London. The interior is detailed, playful and colourful. The chosen art and colours in the lounge area, lobby and resturant made me happy and calm. The rooms are also well - planned and beutifully decorated. Except from the interior design Ruth truly delivers great service and high standard as a hotel in general. The breakfast is worth going there for even if you don´t stay at Ruth!!

Best service, clean and very nice rooms with extremely comfortable beds. Wonderful breakfast, one of the best I have ever had. Cool interior and stylish; beautiful reception, bar and restaurant settings. I will definitely come back next time in Stockholm!

Very good location. Everything was great, clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast and staff super Even the hotel lounge was perfect for a drink in the evening, music was awesome. We will come back ; )

We were very happy staying at Hotel Ruth for two weeks. We felt very much at home there. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby and dining/bar area are very attractive and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and excellent quality. Our room was very clean and pleasant. Our only quibble is that it would have been helpful to have a dresser for our clothes, or at least luggage racks, for our long stay. The bathroom was modern with two sinks and plenty of space for all our stuff. Our room had a very deep tub (deeper than an American claw foot tub) with a shower head but no shower curtain. Those with mobility problems or short legs would probably want a room with a shower instead, such as those in the photos. The location seems safe for walking at night, there are lots of restaurants and shops within an easy walking distance of the hotel, and the location is convenient to public transportation. We'd gladly stay there again.

I think for being a newly opened hotel, it has potential, the lobby is stylish and the breakfast is nice, however there were a lot of basic or standard requirements that just weren't met. First off, we chose the deal “ cava upon check-in” and we did not receive it when checking in. The next day I specifically asked the reception for it since we didn't get it at checkin and they said they would fix that for us, however they never did.The Internet was very weak in the room, so much so that basic websites often didn't load. The towel rack warmer in the bathroom didn't work. There were absolutely no basic amenities you even find in chain hotels, such as a shower cap. And lastly, there's 1 slow elevator that took ages to come which often lead to using the stairs to go both up and down many times.

When visiting Stockholm staying hotel Ruth is a must try. The hotel was extremely clean, and most importantly the service was just outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel for those who want to feel somewhere at home when staying in Stockholm.

Great hotel with beautiful design in lobby area. Execellent breakfast, best I had in Sweden. Really polite and helpful staff. Clean room but I lacked AC and drawer for cloths. Otherwise quite a nice hotel.
