I had a far superior experience at another hotel that for 2 nights equals 1 cost at the BW will not be staying again if I can help it Toilet barely flushed it too 3 times for full flush No hot water No internet until tech support hooked me up and told me off over a badly connected phone in the room and left me hanging Hall ways were freezing All amenities were on completely the opposite side of the hotel Summer bedding whlle its later winter very early spring Heater was inconsistent you had to raise it 2 degrees to get it to kick in consistently Single paned slider window which near to a busy intersection made it sound like the autovan Room only cleaned every 4 days unlike the other hotel I stay at which was daily No recycle in the room Had to get the receipt printed at the front desk because what they sent me was blank Unhappy staff Kids screaming up and down the halls

We stayed in a pet friendly room. Very clean and nicely remodeled. Liked having laminate floor instead of carpet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of options and it was very good.

We stayed here on a Saturday night, for a nearby tournament the next morning. We arrived in the early evening, and settled in nicely - the young lady at the front desk warned us that there were a few rowdy folks staying on property, and to let her know if there were any problems, which there were not (thankfully). The breakfast in the morning was a great quality and got us started off well. Our check out was flawless too.

Greeted by friendly staff the moment we arrived. Explained everything the Best Western had to offer us during our stay. Had answers to all our inquiries about the Smith Falls & Perth areas. Very nice clean room and everything one needs for a short or longer stop over here. Breakfast was included as well, a nice treat. Coffee was available in our room too. Definitely will recommend this location and plan on staying here again if we're in the area. Thank you to all the staff here.

The BW in Smiths Fall is one of the best establishment that I have visited. It is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. The owner and staff show pride in their establishment. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to this city.

Stayed in the Smiths Falls Best Western as we do every time we are in the area at least 2 times a year. We are always welcomed with friendly folks at the front desk,... Check in is always made easy for me. The kitchen staff and cleaning staff are great to deal with. The room is always clean and the breakfast that is included is always plentiful and has anything you would need or want.

We recently spent a night at the Best Western in Smith's Falls and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Courteous staff, very clean, comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stopped here for the night while boating the Rideau Canal. You can tie your boat on a grey line, about 100 meters from the hotel. Room was really nice, clean, quiet and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the hotel breakfast which was included with the room. Unlike many bland hotel breakfasts, this included real scrambled eggs, beans, sausage, bacon, potatoes, plus the yogurts, cereals, English muffins, toast etc. I travel a lot, and this was one of the best “included in your room” breakfasts I have had. Plus Mona, the woman running the breakfast, was very friendly and made the experience even better !!

It's a reasonable hotel for a night stay or two but not suitable for a longer stay. I believe it was a motel but upgraded to BW hotel with breakfast availability. During our stay we noticed exhaust fan of bathroom was making very loud noise and AC system was not working at first but started to work. You will also find some spider webs on the roof which means cleaning is fine but not best.

Great facilities for our purposes! We usually stay here while competing in a tournament and the parking is great with power outlets for our boats! The breakfast folks also open breakfast a hour earlier than normal because they know that we have early days!

I was not impress with anything. Toilet never stopping running AC noisy . Its time this motel pay more attention on fixing stuff .. The food was limited and serving always the same option which it should vary day to day but not this place

no hot water for shower in the morning, room was clean with a nice bed, and location was great . Breakfast was almost inedible, eggs appear to have been from a package, went across the street to get Mcdonalds instead.

Everything was great. We pre-booked and our arrival and reception went smooth. We asked for a room on the main floor and we had one waiting for us .The room was clean and spacious. The parking was in the front near the main doors. Breakfast was in a large room . The food was the same as always, hot and plentiful.. The staff was engaging and knowledgeable about the region. The location is on the main street and centrally located. Although it was on the main street it was quiet. We were plaesaed as usual with the cstaff and the way we were treated.

Our stay was exactly what we needed for a one night stay: the room and bed were restful, all areas were clean, we were well fed fir breakfast and getting back on the road was convenient. Wish we could have stayed another night.

I stayed at this hotel and was happy with everything other than the sauna like heat in the room and the fact that the toilet did not work. Getting ready for a wedding and having to stick my hand in the top of the toilet was not exactly the greatest..

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make sure our stays are comfortable and easy to manage. Always a friendly smile and a kind word. They really make you feel welcome and like you are important to them.

Extremely clean and cosy room's gives you a great home sense. Very good location near the best food points. Excellent price/comfort combination, recommended for Smith Falls accommodation. Close to the highway and to the town center.

Friendly professional people. clean and welcoming atmosphere. We have been to this location many times over the years and have never had a bad or unfriendly experience. The price was value for money, and we like the idea that the prices fluctuate with season and type of room. We are retired and can adjust our trip according to prices. This helps us since we can visit with our family when we want. and still stay within our budget. Gas to travel is expensive these days and keeping prices as low as possible is paramount for seniors.

I like the convenience of the location, the courteous people, and the clean rooms. It would have been more convenient though if this hotel could provide full dining service (dining in or room service) could have been very helpful for guests to come and the end of heavy day, shower, eat, relax and sleep.

Smiths Falls is a nice change when not traveling the main arteries. Well kept facility which I always look forward to staying at. Very friendly staff that remember me from past visits and are engaging in conversation.

My wife and i decided to stay in Smith's Falls for 1 night just to see the area. Decided on the Best Western (I'm not usually a fan of chain hotels) but this one hit the mark! The hotel is in more of a modern area of the town that pretty much has everything. Canadian tire, gas stations, Dairy Queen, Walmart and another chain grocery store. It is a short walk to the locks if you want to head to check out the boats also. Smith's Falls itself was a total bust for us, we didn't care for the town at all, the people didn't seem friendly and lots of lack of charm. That being said i think anyone who is friendly in the town works at the Best Western!! Everyone we came into contact with were super friendly, the breakfast was amazing (for a continental) and the staff made the stay one to remember (I can't believe i just wrote that lol) but totally true. My recommendations? If you're going to go to Smith's Falls i would try to avoid the EconoLodge on the water (It looked like a poor house when we walked by) and I would Favour the Best Western, you won't be disappointed!

The hotel is clean. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. You are close to Tim Hortons Starbucks and a grocery store. They serve a hot breakfast. The is an ice machine located on the first floor. Loved the usb charging option by the bed

We've been travelling across Canada for over three weeks now and this hotel is by far the cleanest, the nicest and the most up to date (furniture wise) that we have come across. We are returning to Smiths Falls next summer with friends and you can bet that we will be booking at this establishment for certain.

Amazing friendly staff , front desk lady gave perfect recommendations for local food, seamless check in and check out very clean rooms, breakfast service to notch Only down side is outside pool but still a very enjoyable experience

We stayed for two nights for a motorcycle tour of the area. Staff very friendly and helpful through the stay. Rooms clean and roomy. Location is great to walk to a variety restaurants. We will stay there again. Thanks!!

We stayed for one night on our way to another city. Everything was good, except the pool was not open. The front desk told us the pool was open After getting ready to get in the pool we found out it was not. My children were definitely disappointed.

Arrived in this small town late in the evening and was greeted by Dawn at front desk, she was very helpful as we had an animal travelling with us and told us to park around back for easier carrying for him and our luggage (no elevators, two floors but we were on the first floor). She answered all of our questions and when we needed something for the room she was very accommodating. Room was very clean, and well lit. The only thing I did not like was the hdmi port on the TVs are disabled so you cannot plug in your own device to watch movies etc. anyways, beds were comfortable, fridge and coffee machine. Next morning we packed and went for breakfast- very good deal and tasty… then Kathy (breakfast staff) came over to ask how everything was and she was very friendly and sweet. Went back to the room and the house keeper (didn't get her name, young girl, dark hair in a pony tail) was helpful and hardworking. All In all great little place to stay in a small quiet town !

We stayed at this hotel as part of a group for a wedding and I must admit i was skeptical because my previous experience with the chain had not been great. However this hotel exceeded my expectations, from check in to our room to the staff. The continental breakfast was excellent. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Good place to stay in Smiths Falls, the room is clean and tidy, the room had a mini frig and comfotable bed. We only stayed 1 night. The parking lot is big allowing you to park a small trailer. Breakfast is ok, hot eggs and bacon. Staff are friendly. Only thing was the bathroom door needed some repair on the bottom.

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western in Smiths Falls only one night ago and they never never disappoint in any way. I initially made my reservation with Dave who was very polite and accommodating on the phone. I also met Dad on my check out and he was as I mentioned. He was professional, very kind, accommodating and friendly to deal with, thanks Dave. When I checked in, I was met by Megan who checked me in. She was very friendly,..took her time with me,..was very professional and kind to me. Always great to walk into this hotel,..as it is like GOING HOME. They always make us feel very welcome and like we are the only guests,..thanks Megan and Dave. Our room was very clean and had everything we could need or want for our one night stay. There was no issue at all,.. The internet worked well,..the bed was comfortable,..the noise level during the night was just about nil,...and we had a wonderful night. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning which included all you could need or ask for. I took it to our room and Mona was very accomodating in giving me a tray. We had our service dog with us so it was easier for us this way. They had lovely hot scrambled eggs, sausages and hashbrown potatoes. Along with that there is a variety of breads to toast, cereal, muffins, fruit, cookies, juices, tea and coffees, granola bars, yogourt and everything was served nicely and clean. Mona runs a tight ship in the kitchen,..everything was well presented, clean and plenty for everyone. Thanks Mona,..I loved our chat as well,.. You were very friendly and I enjoyed speaking with you. All in all,..this is the ONLY hotel we stay when in the Smiths Falls area for all the above reasons. Thanks folks,..we will see you all again for sure.

Note that this is a two story building with NO elevator, and long hallways. You'll have a 50-50 chance of ending up on the second floor, so if you're elderly, disabled, or just don't like carrying luggage up stairs, you may be disappointed. We sure were. Also, their advertising gives the impression that the Hotel is on the Rideau Canal. Bring binoculars. The only eateries close by are fast food joints, so if you want a nice meal, you'll be going for a drive.

Just the potatoes were dry for breakfast but that's not the biggest deal and I found the pillows not as comfortable as other hotels I have been to. Overall it's an excellent place to go to specifically in Smiths Falls

Spent 1 night on business at the BW in Smiths Fall, Ontario. Booking, check-in, and check-out process was super simple and quick. Room was spacious and clean and there were no issues with Internet or other equipment. Breakfast was perfect for those on the go!

We travelled for family reasons and were very satisfied with the room, cleanliness and friendly staff, as well as the breakfast options during our stay. WE would recommend this location. We will be staying there again during our family visits.

Our stay here was fantastic and easy. We tried a few other places here in Muskoka like deerhurst which was a complete disaster if you have a pet, but it was the complete opposite here. Welcome and inviting, better room, better internet, so pet friendly!! And a fantastic breakfast. It's our go to place now in Huntsville when we have our dog(s)!

Always a very pleasant stay in Smiths Falls. Small town hotel that is well kept and the staff are more than friendly which makes your stay even more pleasant. Busy at times so it would be best to plan ahead.

The staff at this location were absolutely amazing!! Truly impressed. The breakfast was delicious. The best actually at any hotel. There were no waffles, which some had hoped for but that was the only disappointment. Lol The fresh baked cookies were truly enjoyed!! Thank you all for an amazing stay.

Mattress was too hard for some of my family members. Otherwise we found this hotel to be quite comfortable and clean. Staff were engaging and pleasant. Offers of assistance in locating sites and attractions were offered. Overall a nice stay in a pleasant smaller hotel with staff that made you feel at home.

Two family's getting together for a wedding. The brides family rented the confrence room for the evening before and the evening after the wedding and the next morning. The night before the wedding, a staff member barged in and and said " If you are going to use this room, then you actually have to pay for it" Dead silence because it was paid for! So rude, she didn't even check before making that accusation. Apparently her manager told her to do that. On the grooms side: The grooms grandmother of about 89 years cannot do stairs, I made this clear when I made our reservations - when I got there the room I booked for my mother and I was on the 2nd floor! She was not to arrive until the next day so, II was able (but only after midnight) to switch to a gound floor room for my 89 year old mother and I. The same woman who was so rude about the confrence room was the one who told me I had to wait until the next shift (after midnight) to arrange a room on the ground floor (I believe because then the next shift would have to scramble - not her) I was up every 2 hours after that checking for a room. And then, the brides family was accused of making too much noise on the night of the wedding - we were not even there at that time, we were still at the wedding venue! My husband noticed someone checking in was not wearing a mask and made the mask sing to that same woman - she turned up her nose and ignored him. OK, venting. Except for her and her manager the other staff were great, the rooms were clean. Someone told my husband that woman was having boyfriend problems - sorry no excuse!

The entire staff was at all times friendly, considerate, and ready to assist in any way. The continental breakfast was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. I would definitely return to this lodging facility if I ever visited Smiths Falls again.

found sheets dirty when going to bed hairs and other things sounded like elephants in room above all night washroom had pubic hairs in tub and floor was never cleaned properly , could not have been disinfected properly for covid

This was a great, casual stop for us, near fast food outlets, and just north of the CTC and Walmart. it was great to be near the Rideau Cana and see the locks, right beside the hotel, where there is also a small park with information signs. The staff was accessible and friendly on check-in, and the gal helped me out with getting the coffee maker working. The room was great - clean! with perfect comfortable bed, very nice duvet and all the amenities you have come to expect when travelling. And a bedside clock radio that I love! The bathroom is a bit dated, with very low toilet and narrow bathtub where you will definitely want to use the safety bar. We were very lucky to get a lovely room with patio doors where our vehicle was parked right outside - handy to load up the luggage. There was a breakfast included. Not a huge variety, but hot and cold items, well prepared and thoughtfully displayed. Social distancing when seated. Almost back to normal. There was a bit of construction while we were there, so a zigzag to go north onto Hwy 4 or 15 - but it's a rather small place, so no worries. The disappointment was in the pool that we had hoped to use upon our arrival after a day's travel - it was not working, as there was no one to keep it functional. A sign of the times. Overall, a recommended stay and two thumbs up.

This hotel is nicely situated, It is within walking distance to many things. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. I would not hesitate staying here on my way through Smith Falls, again. Hopefully all the construction on the roads will be finished by then.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a very good variety and homemade individually wrapped cookies were amazing! Staff was extremely polite and helpful. Nice area to walk and had nice amenities nearby.

What makes this hotel stand out is the friendliness of the staff. Our party included two people with autism -- and their caregivers. The staff could not have been more accommodating and caring. This matters so much to me and turned what could have been a stressful holiday into a great one. Huge thanks to the hotel and its staff!!!

I'm just really disappointed that the outdoor pool is closed. They said its about COVID protocol but I'm still in Ontario right? what I know as of July 16th we're in stage 3 meaning even Indoor pool can be open. This hotel has Outdoor! Please dont use covid now as an excuse because no one can clean the pool area. Hire people!I booked a room for over $350 for 2 nights providing with amenities I paid for I only got a dog bag of a muffin. Im a Gold elite member of Best western and I hate leaving bad reviews but management should provide the amenities or lower the price coz obviously theyre not offering what the rate includes. PLEASE include as part of your disclosure that the OUTDOOR pool is closed coz obviously your giving your guest a misleading info.

If you're staying at any hotel/motel during these trying Covid times? Be prepared to call in advance and ask questions about the amenities. Don't discover only at check-in that--breakfast is served in a to-go bag and nothing is toasted or that the pool WILL be opened, but only NEXT week or that the main entrance is closed due to construction! ASK, ASK, ASK...it makes everything SO MUCH BETTER!

This dog friendly hotel is exactly what we need when touring Eastern Ontario. The staff are friendly and helpful! They take covid precautions seriously but still provide a bag breakfast so that is still included.

This hotel is very clean. I like that there is hardwood floors in the room instead of musty carpet. Staff are super friendly. The only negative was the bed is super hard and I found it to be uncomfortable. A must stay if you are visiting Smiths Falls!

Completed reservation online and prepaid room on June 10th for a June 10th arrival. Spouse fell down the stairs as I finished up reservation. I immediately called hotel after calling an ambulance; hotel staff said reservation couldn't be cancelled and that I'd have to call reservation line to do so. I made that call to be told cancellation deadline was June 9!!! I explained that I had only made the reservation less then 20 minutes prior and was transferred. 3rd person I spoke to said only hotel could cancel reservation!! 150.00 for a 10 minute reservation!! Will never return to a best western

Great place to stay, great location to atv trails, food, and shopping,,everything is in walking distance. Pool looks fabulous. We had a great safe family outing, We would definitely go back there, Smith Falls is a great to visit

I have not travelled recently but needed to see some specific clients in the area. Smiths Falls Best Western is my only choice when coming to town. Small town with nice friendly staff in hotel. Very well maintained hotel and comfortable.

I stayed at the Best Western Perth recently. It was an excellent experence. The staff there are frendly and very accommodating. The hotel is clean and there is a complementry breakfast (in a bag) due to COVID but it was very good. The hotel is located in an excellent location close to food and shopping.

We checked in however with a lot of concern over Covid as this was the first hotel we stayed in since February. I dealt with Teresa at the front desk wearing a mask as was I since it is mandatory there. There was also a barricade between us at the front desk which was quite comforting. She was extremely friendly and professional while checking me in. She gave me a menu for our breakfast for the next morning so we could have it brown bagged and ready for us upon checkout or in our room. During check out in the morning, I dealt with Linda who gave us our bag each which included a muffin, yogurt, juice and condiments,..which was quite adequate and nicely prepared. Linda as well was very friendly and professional and helped to make our stay very comfortable. Our room was EXTREMELY clean,.... the bedding looked incredibly clean, new and starched. The carpet looked new as it was so clean,... I also cleaned a number of items myself,..just because it is Covid,..however there probably was no need. In the morning I spoke with Wanda one of the maids, I noticed she was cleaning an empty room and I could see the added attention she was making on the bathroom taps,..I was very impressed. Wanda also had a mask on which gave me comfort too,....

We stayed at this establishment 18 through 20 Sep 2020. We and another couple stayed at this hotel for our golfing weekend. Although COVID has taken over our lives in every facet, I will say that this hotel did everything right. They had hand sanitizer at all the public areas. The Front desk attendants were polite, friendly and they truly went out of their way to make our stay as good as possible. The Free Continental Breakfast was not available. What they did replace it with was a small menu of choices, continental wise, that you would order the day before, drop off the form at the front desk and pick up your choices at the front desk the following morning. The rooms were older but our King Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was tired looking but very clean. We had plenty of clean towels for our use. The TV was up to date and the remote worked as expected. The location was right in the middle of the town. McDonalds right across the street. An Independent grocery store was right behind the McDonalds. Tim Hortons was just down the street. A Harvey's was nearby. A Walmart right down the street. We also had another reason why we stayed at this Hotel as we golfed at the Smith Falls GC and the Rolling Hill GC (formerly know as Lombard Glen GC) OPINION: We enjoyed the Rolling Hills GC over the Smith Falls GC. Overall this hotel fulfilled our needs even though it was more expensive than we expeced.

This Best Western Hotel was the perfect location for us it was close to Rideau Ferry where we needed to go. It had lots of amenities for food, coffee and gas around it and the location was very pretty. Although the outdoor pool was not accessible because of Covid it looked clean and lovely to swim in. The lady I spoke with Linda at the front desk arranged our room she was excellent at finding the best room for us with our little dog she was very nice to talk to and got back to us promptly. Linda put us on the first floor and close to the doors.. we so appreciated it. The room was spectacular and clean and smoke free. We felt relieved when we walked into the room and saw how clean and tidy it was especially during these times of Covid. We spent one night here during a golf trip. It was pretty good considering the Covid-19 situation. Masks On everywhere inside, I'm good with that. Easy check in with protocols in place. Only thing is that the buffett is closed and that area cannot be used at all. So, you have to fill out a paper and give it back to the reception and your bag of breakfast will be at the front desk in the morning. Don't get excited - it wasn't very much, not much choice. I had an apple, muffin, yogurt and a juice box. No coffee or tea at all. I suggest that they put extra coffee pods in the rooms for the guests; the hotel uses the Keurig machines.

I've stayed here numerous times in the past and this stay just did not live up to previous stays. Staff were not as friendly or as helpful as in the past. Back door was no functioning properly. The take away breakfast was definitely underwhelming.

I wouldnt stay here again. booked thru Expedia, I booked a room with 2 double beds. Called the hotel after booking to confirm and also to let them know we had dogs. When I got there the front desk person really didnt know much. Got to the room and it was one queen bed. Was told that the other pet friendly rooms were taken but they didnt have pets. There were long black hairs in the shower. The bed felt like they ripped apart a sofa bed and put it on a foundation. It squeaked like a tin can at the slightest movement and the mattress was very uncomfortable.

Excellent location. Directly accross from a gas station. Right on the OFSC trail, easy walk into towm. Great for an overnight stay on a longer trip. Good breakfast. Easy sled parking and lots of space. Smith Falls is a nice city to visit. We went to the Station Theatre which was having a gala night. Well worth the trip and a nice away weekend. We would use this hotel again

This was a great hotel recommended by family. It was lovely and clean and the staff was friendly-especially the breakfast crew! They treated us very well during our 7 day stay, It was close to amenities and we would definitely recommend others to stay here if this is the area you would like to be in.

We have not stayed there for a couple years and you can see that they look after there investment the room was clean and updated the staff the best the evening and morning we had to leave before breakfast and they made it a point to have stuff out for u s what more can you say about service will be back in the spring

The staff provided express access to rooms for a forty member choir without a hitch. The rooms were well appointed quiet and beds comfortable. The included hot breakfast was very good and checkout prompt.

Highly recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly, kind, polite and you could tell they were proud to work there and that they made our satisfaction their priority. Clean hotel with friendly staff. Fast check in and they offer breakfast. Ground floor was requested and given but would have been nice to have outside access & drive up parking for shorter distances. Nice.

Nice place. Great room with whirlpool. Very friendly statt, comfy bed. The only minus is the very loud A/C. Breakfast is okay for it being a continental breakfast. Parking in front of the property is very convenient.

Best Western Smiths Falls was a very nice hotel with a very good breakfast included. Staff were very nice and resolved all of my questions quickly. Bed was very comfortable and room had plenty of room to walk around; no bumping into things.

The check in process was quick and the lady working the front desk was very friendly. The room was clean and everything worked, which is really all I need on a quick business stay. Internet was was easy to connect to and was very reliable.

Main lobby stinks of bad odor, non attentive at the main desk, room furniture dated, pool very cold, no hot tub, not the most kid friendly, not enough towels in room for family of 4, no hooks for wet towels, harldy any shampoo etc...room smelled like grandmas bathroom, carpet dated, not clean in room, ripped tired bedding, noisy halls and floors, located by places to eat, and shopping. the only plus is staff is friendly.

Located in a great spot for sight seeing. Water real close. Working locks in back yard! Lots to see, shopping across the street. Out door pool kept in great shape. Lots of walking trails near by. No need to drive.

We stayed for two nights it was centrally located there is every thing you need there . The hotel is a smaller hotel but the staff was very friendly the our rooms very clean . The breakfast in the morning was very tasty and the women who took care of it was very friendly . If I had one bad thing to say is the pool could of been a bit cleaner . We traveled to Perth from there to wander around great excursion small town feel with all the shops and restaurants.

The BW was up to snuff. Clean and friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast was good both days. Pool was a refreshing treat and our group had a ball. We had get togethers in our room and never any complaints.

Took family along to work function in the area and decided to try this place for the first time. Place is clean, staff super friendly, great pool, and continental breakfast is ample. Would definitely come again!

Linda @front desk was very friendly wonderful and helpful. She explained my bill and the deposit on how it works. Tracy from the cleaning staff was very pleasant and assisted me when I had some questions about my room.

We stayed one night before we went on our boat trip. Excellent choice. Our room was quite and very clean. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was still a bit under construction, but you could see it will be nice when finished. Good breakfast selection. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the BWSF while a family member was in the local hospital. The hotel staff members were friendly, compassionate and accommodating. Even though this BW is part of a large international group of hotels, this location has a very "small town" atmosphere, while providing great Best Western hospitality and amenities.

The breakfast area and lobby were having the ceramic tiles removed by jackhammer during the day. The dust and noise was absolutely horrible. The Jacuzzi Suite, room 209, was ok. Decor was nice except for the tired and well worn jacuzzi tub situated beside the bed! The bathroom sink would not drain. I reported it three times. Tile remover was sent to examine issue. An hour later he and I were on our backs on the floor, I holding a flashlight, while he tried to install new piping. All this leaked and I was left with a 5-gallon bucket for the sink to drain into! Oh, and a white towel full of the black sludge he managed to pull out of the drain, 'P' trap and wall piping! Next day new piping and a sink that still wouldn't drain! At checkout I re-reported issue and was told manager bad checked sink and was fine with it. Will NEVER stay here again! I will drive 2.5 hours daily, each way, for a week of meetings before I would stay here again.

A nice little hotel, the best available in Smith's Falls at the moment in my opinion. It's clean, the staff are friendly, free parking and the selection for the free breakfast is not bad. My goto accommodations for Peterborough.

The staff at Best Western Colonel By in Smiths Falls are amazing. We stayed here for two weeks while our house was being renovated and they were like our family. They work so hard to keep the hotel looking beautiful and clean. Staff are friendly and dedicated and make it worth staying there over and above another national chain. From front desk to housekeeping, all staff really care about their work and making guests feel comfortable and welcome. The owner should be very grateful to have such great staff and take good care of them so as not to lose them as they are gems!!

We stayed in the room with the jet tub right in the bedroom. What a luxury for a new couple. Polite staff, clean rooms, lots of parking and the rates were decent. Close to shopping and a lot of restaurants.

great place to stay when in Smiths Falls , breakfast included and close to downtown. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Beds were very comfy and rooms were quiet, didn't hear noise from other rooms or hallways. Wifi was excellent.

Best Western in Smiths Falls is becoming a hotel increasing in demand. I started staying here several years ago and had no trouble booking a room. Now when planning a trip I give extra time. Along with business comes increasing rates which I noted had gone up since last stay in Jan by $30 + . Not many other choices in the area so I booked in.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The guest rooms were clean and bright with modern bedding and decor. The lobby was welcoming. Breakfast offered a good variety including hot food. Breakfast room was kept clean and tidy.

Best Western doesn't disappoint in Smiths Falls. Great staff, comfortable beds - important - and overall a pleasant stay. Always seems to be someone willing to go the extra mile to accomodate our requests. Thanks!

Always a pleasant stay in Smiths Falls. Staff are friendly and engaging in conversation with quests. Hotel has its busy times and sold out. I tried late in 2018 to book but they were sold out so extra advance planning was needed prior to my most recent stay.

The side door, which needed a room key to open was warped and needed a LOT of force to close. Inevitably, guests did not spend the extra time needed to get it latched so it stayed propped open for the duration of my stay. As well, windows on the main floor do not lock and are easily opened from the outside. When I brought this up during check out, I was told NONE of the windows lock because they don't open far enough. To top it off the drain in the bathtub was clogged, which I also brought ip at check out and they said they would address. Being a young female that travels alone for work frequently, I would never stay here again. I felt unsafe and my concerns were brushed off. For the price paid, this definitely fell below expectations. 2/5 for friendly staff and having pet friendly rooms.

We stay at a lot of best westerns but this is the nicest one we've been to in a while. Great staff. The lady at the front desk taught us a lot about Smiths Falls. Thank you. Super clean and amazingly cared for. The owners really show pride of ownership here. Great location, close to everything. MacDonald's and grocery store right across the street. Highly recommend this hotel

We come from Toronto and stay here twice a year when we come through the Smiths Falls area. I called a week in advance and was lucky enough to get a room of our choosing. They were full when we arrived and in speaking with a few of the guests, they were travelling to Smiths Falls due to the impending legalization of marihuana the next day and these people had business in town. I booked our room initially with Glenda whom I remember from other times. She was very friendly and makes me feel like we are home which is great. Our queen room was quite adequate, clean, spacious and just down the hall from the front desk. We also have their breakfast which is always very nice, plentiful and has lots of choices on the small buffet. Kathy was taking care of the breakfast items and she stopped to talk with us, chat and also make us feel at home. There are many items,...sausages this time, eggs, cereals, breads, muffins, juices, fruit, tea and coffee. The area is kept very clean by Kathy and she did a great job taking care of things. Glenda was very helpful with out check in as was Dhruv on our check out. Thanks folks, we will stay with you again.

Everything about this hotel satisfied me. It was cozy, clean, and accommodating in every way. The staff are to be commended for the job they do. Our room was spotless, hallways were spacious. Best bed I've ever slept in. Kudos to all employees.

I was a pleasant stay. The most impressive part was the quality of the continental breakfast.. Otherwise it was pretty standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back to this one.

Room, lobbies, breakfast, staff were all up to Best Western's standards. Stayed for one night during an area wide power outage. Best Western is my preferred "away from home" accomodation and I would return to this site again. My only complaint was with the inadequate internet connection (because of the storm?) and the generic television package. Both of which are irritants but not deal breakers.

Overall the rooms were clean and tidy. Centered directly in the middle of town and close to restaurants and grocery stores. Free breakfast was presented nicely in a breakfast area that was clean and tidy. Breakfast staff was very accommodating and friendly.

It was a peaceful stay. It is a quiet place so had a decent sleep after long working days. It has high speed internet which works really great. Good breakfast options to start your day and the staff is ever smiling.!

Decided to try out a King room this stay. The bed was much more comfortable than the Queen rooms. It might be worth the slightly higher cost. The only negative part was that we were given an adjoining room -- when I specifically asked for non adjoining. We could hear the people next door talking -- could hear their TV -- and even hear them in the bathroom. Not good.

Friendly and helpful staff, reasonable rates, clean and quiet rooms. Beautiful view of the river. Lots of maps and coupons for local attractions etc. in the lobby. Needs some renovations such as the carpet in the hallways which were in the process of being replaced. Once the renovations are completed, it will be a good or very good place to stay.

Was looking for a reasonably priced hotel to explore Kingston, Brockville and Perth and this hotel kept coming up. It is perfectly located on the highway 15 which takes you straight down to Kingston in less than an hour. Although not the most appealing from the outside we were very surprised once you went in. Excellent reception from the staff and despite having to carry out luggage up to floor one it is an easy stair case to navigate! Room was of excellent size and and everything you could ask for. We had a room at the back of the hotel which looks over the land surrounding the canal. Despite busy it was also a very quiet two nights of sleep we had there with no disruptions from other guests. Hotel also has an excellent outside pool for which they supply towels for you. Only slight issue is the very small breakfast area. We ended up taking our breakfast back to our room which wasnt ideal as all six tables were taken up. Would use again and recommend as a stopover location.

In town for a family wedding and baptism, stayed 5 nights and have no complaints. As others have stated, the staff was always extremely friendly, the breakfast was varied enough and convenient and the staff kept everything well stocked and hot. Bed and room were fine. We had a Queen plus a couch/love seat which was perfect for us as my husband usually just sits at the desk on his computer and I took the couch. We did not need much housekeeping, but got clean facecloths, new toiletries, etc each day. And the rate for a holiday week (July 1/July 4) was very reasonable compared to U.S. motels. If you need to stay a few days in Smith Falls, this would be the place.

The staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful. For example, they helped with the washing machine and allowed us to check into our room early after we left the boat. Smiths Falls is a confusing place to navigate. Suggest mark location of the hotel on a local map as soon as possible. The hotel was fine generally. The swimming pool was closed when we arrived pending a government inspection but was functional when we left a few days later.

Staff said hello everytime we came in from being out. Rooms were the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in. Bed was really comfortable but the pillows leave something to be desired. Continental breakfast was pretty good, lots of options even eggs, sausages, and French toast stick type things. Was very quiet, no problems there. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

went for 4 days and our room was at the top of the stairs. We mentioned the door was extremely squeaky when it opens we thought it would be fixed; not. Also the breakfast room was quite noisy and being at the top floor we could hear the noise as the door to the hallway was left open; why? Our room on one of the days was not cleaned and the bed was not really made up, while we asked for no sheet changes, Never greeted when we went down the stairs nor asked how our stay was when we checked out

It was an enjoyable weekend attending the Eastern Ontario Bluegrass Festival in Lombardy The weather could have been better on Saturday but since it was indoors made it more pleasant. If all is well, we plan on attending next year as well.

Just stayed one night but will come back. The hotel is like new, up to date furnishings fresh and clean linens and room. The bathroom is spotless. The breakfast room is bright sunny and has lots of good food options. Staff is friendly. A delightful surprise and good value for the rate

Thiis was a delightful find. Great value for the money in a bright clean and seemingly brand new property. We enjoyed A beautiful sunset over the Rideau from our room. The hot and cold breakfast options were fresh and tasty

Best Western Colonel Bye is in Smiths Falls. The stay was, as always, Exceptional!!. We say here once a year 3/4 nights a years. Spa was awesome. Food & friendliness awesome. The hotel is bright & clean. Location is convent for us.

We just stayed 2 nights at this hotel while on a school trip. Staff were just amazing. Extremely friendly, so helpful and very accommodating. Check in for the 9 rooms was quick and easy. Rooms were all nice and clean. Typical hotel rooms. Hotel is nice, clean and well maintained. There is no elevator just as an FYI. Breakfast area is small but suited our needs. Typical BW breakfast offerings. The staff looking after the breakfast area was attentive and friendly. Kept making sure our students had eaten enough which was very cute. Great location with lots of food and shopping options around. Very pleased with our stay. Cannot say enough about how great the staff were....just a nice friendly place which sadly is very rare these days. Would definitely stay here again!

I stay here for work quite a bit. I love that they remember me and I get a happy getting at the front desk. The rooms are clean and well kept. Breakfast has a lot of options with eggs, sausage and French toast. Pretty nice for my second home!

A terrific hotel if you want one that is clean, comfortable and a great value. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. The breakfast wasn't gourmet but there was lots of food to get you started for the day including very good coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, sausages and eggs among the many offerings.

I have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. Beds and pillows are super comfy. Staff are friendly. The hotel could use a little maintenance. Small things like loose shower heads and a new curtain for the sliding door. But non the less good value.

Amazingly nice and clean hotel; very friendly staff; tasty breakfast. Rooms are pretty big. The hotel is located not far away from the downtown. It is definitely worth to stay there, even if you visit Ottawa or Nepean. The city of Smiths Falls itself and the hotel, in particular, are beautiful.

Vary clean and friendly place the price was more than area stays but the comfort of home was at the Best Western. Rooms are vary modern cosy and comfortable. Well worth the price. We will return again.

Great family hotel located an hour from Ottawa. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lots of choice, was constantly being replenished and was hot! Room was very clean and quiet. Great location on a main road with easy access to highways. Will certainly stay here again.

Nice stay, great to see all the updates. Clean and friendly staff, great night sleep, very quiet. Even after sleeping in, managed to squeeze in remainders for breakfast at 9:30am. My go to place when visiting family in Smiths Falls. Great value.

We only stay here when in Smiths Falls area. At check in and check out , Glenda was working both times. I found her to be very friendly, helpful, and professional on both occassions. She also took the time to chat with us during breakfast which was very kind of her. We had a King Room with sliding doors in front which was very convenient for us. The room was a nice size as usual, with very clean sheets and clean bathroom. The room was quiet for a Sunday night and we barely heard any cars going past during the night at all. We had the breakfast provided by the hotel which is always adequate,..with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereals, yogourt, coffee, tea, and assorted breads. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back here again.

This is a very clean and cheerful place to stay. Rhonda on the front desk was A1 on the phone when we booked and A1 in person. Her customer service skills are second to none. Also a warm shout out to Mona in the breakfast area. The breakfast was very good. The breakfast was plentiful and the breakfast room spotless. I hope lodgers could dig deep and leave a small tip to show their appreciation. It is not compulsory but how can it hurt?

This hotel is pretty standard but an Oasis in the local area Rooms are clean, quiet and the beds are very good Breakfast is standard fare The room furniture layout is a little awkward but workable If all "basic" hotels were like this - happiness!

Was pleasantly pleased on what I received for an area that does not have a lot of choices. Had stayed in the area before however was not happy with previous choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You never sometimes how hotels are in smaller towns but was happy to see that it was very professional and met my needs overall. Would stay again at same hotel.

We have stayed here many times while visiting Smiths Falls. This last visit we noticed some changes to the property -- and not just the sign out front. A lot of the friendly staff is still here -- which is great -- but we noticed a few things were not as comfortable as usual. For starters we usually get a queen room -- but this bed was very small. It seemed like a double bed and the pillows were very small as well. They were very hard and square. I did ask for a different pillow and was provided with one. Also for the breakfast they took away the waffle maker and gave us French toast fingers instead. The waffles were always a highlight for breakfast so we definitely missed them. The French toast was inedible. Very hard and drenching in syrup did not soften them up. Not very appetizing. I think it is pretty difficult to keep the little French toast fingers fresh while sitting in a warming tray. We will likely stay here again when we are back in town - but hopefully some of these little issues can be improved.

We were in town for a wedding and other hotels in the surrounding area (Perth) were just under $200 a night. We decided to stay in Smiths Falls where this hotel was much less money per night. We were hoping this hotel would be clean and comfortable as we live 8 hours away and had a long drive down. We were pleasantly surprised with the outside appearance of the hotel; it looked fairly new and the exterior appeared well kept. The employee who checked us in was very friendly and explained the internet and continental breakfast which were 2 other reasons we chose this hotel. Our room was a queen bed with a sofa. The decor was fairly modern and the room was spotless. We have no complaints about the room whatsoever. We had family who also stayed at this hotel and had a room with 2 double beds; they did not have any issues with their room either. The breakfast was open 7-10am on the weekends and 630-930am on weekdays. It was much more than we expected. We expected the basics - coffee, juice, bagels, and fruit but they had much more available. They had: sausages, french toast, eggs, cereal, oatmeal (with plenty of toppings), bagels, fruit, toast, coffee, tea, milk, and a few kinds of juices. The only thing we noticed was the space to eat breakfast was a bit small. There happened to be a hockey tournament the same weekend and on our last morning, the dining area was packed so we had to take our breakfast back to our room. Other than the small dining area for breakfast, we enjoyed our stay and had no issues. We chose this hotel for the cheaper price and we definitely got a lot of bang for our buck.

Great location to relax and enjoy a meal during a stop over after a long day of house hunting. Glenda at the front desk was very helpful to direct us to a eating location that was best suited for our time and budget. Breakfast was ready and warm when we arrived and seating was plentiful for the number of guests staying at the location.

Having family Smiths Falls I have stayed at this hotel several times. It just keeps getting better and better. The girls I dealt with at the front desk, Dawn and Linda were incredible. They went over and beyond the call of duty to make us comfortable.The friendliness of the staff there, fantastic breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms truly make it a favorite for my family.

Good hotel to stay at, just a couple of blocks from a hand run lock. We got to watch a boat from through the lock. only took a few minutes even though it was hand winched. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so ask for a downstairs room if you've got a lot of luggage or don't like stairs. Breakfast was good. and included in price.

Pleasant reception upon arrival. Quickly checked in to a spacious room. Restaurants, grocery store, gas stations and alcohol outlets just across the street. Local historical interests are just moments away.

Our 3 day trip was a short break away from home with friends, exploring Eastern Ontario. Some places we visited were Kingston, Merrickville, Smiths Falls, and Perth. It is undoubtedly a beautiful part of the country, with very friendly faces everywhere.

Best Western is a very pleasant stay in Smiths Falls. I stay here on every business trip to the area while on route west. Very comfortable and staff are helpful. Breakfast is a nice start in the morning .

The hotel is clean, modern and in a good location. Unfortunately, the check-in clerk was more interested in chatting on the phone about work scheduling, rather than getting customers checked-in. First impressions are everything.... I'm not likely to return.

Stayed here for a wedding this past weekend and it was very clean comfortable and nicely decorated room. Staff were very friendly. Enjoyed the surrounding town and Heritage Museum House. Right on highway 15 but very quiet and close to shops and restaurants.

Great convenient location, very comfortable and the most pleasant staff. We chose to stay here when we were unable to find vacancies in Perth or Kingston. We had never been to Smith Falls so were happy to visit someplace new. We were very satisfied with the hotel except that we were on the second floor and there was no elevator. Must remember to request ground floor in future reservations.

We stayed at the Smith Falls, Ontario Best Western and had 2 rooms. Both had a queen bed and couch and both were well kept and clean. We had a great stay and would stay there again. In fact, we had such a great stay, I'm sorry that I didn't reserve a room in Niagara Falls for a night. I will not make that mistake again and will stay at Best Western next time.

This hotel is located within easy reach of everything in town. Rooms were very clean and well maintained.Hotel manager was excellent to deal with and extremely accommodating.Lot of parking available, outdoor pool and an excellent breakfast to start your day off right. We were there for a fishing tournament and they put out the breakfast early so we can eat before heading out.

We stayed for 2 nights for a boat race event. The staff was amazing, friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and as a group of racers and crew we were treating warmly and had a great time.

fabulously helpful staff - great rooms - very soundproof - super place for anyone. I had 2 millennial friends with me who were quite the comedians and the staff just laughed along with us and we felt like family - and the motel itself is lovely - can't recommend it enough

We stayed one night in this very clean and friendly hotel. There is a continental breakfast included in the morning which was nice. Air conditioning is loud and the shower didn't drain well (although it had great water pressure!) were the only cons.

Last night of a two week road trip and although I was within two hours of home, I just could not drive any more and saw a Best Western in the next town. I arrived and thought, wow, beautiful hotel! The front desk staff was awesome, very welcoming and accommodating. The room was beautiful, beds comfortable and wifi was good. The breakfast was one of the best I have had at a Best Western or other hotel that provides breakfast! It was a great experience and I would recommend this hotel for travellers!

We were pleasantly surprised at the quaintness of this lovely establishment. The front lobby was charming and very unique! The staff were more than helpful and pleasant and the bed was superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and would definitely stay here again!

The fridge was filled with left over stuff from previous boarder. Toilet commode was unstable. The transformer busted and the room A/C stopped working. The front desk staff tried but failed to restart the A/c. It was pretty suffocating to spend the night without the A/C. At the time of the checking out the front desk staff said they were told by the management to provide only $20-30 discount. No apologies or any note for an uncomfortable room. When I tried to reach out to the Manager, he was out of commission. It seemed the manager is least bothered about the comfort of the customers. The service is terrible in compare to the amount they charge ($160 per night). For a non A/C room !!

hotel room was great it would have been better if the pool was working and the tv work better . as the days we were there it rained all day on the Monday and there is not much to due . when you look out the window and it has rained so hard that the parking lot was starting to flood . the tv would have been nice to watch . and the day we got there it would have been nice to use the pool. but it was closed . the lady at the front desk was very helpful with the place to eat the the view was great. I would stay there again if in smith falls agian

Not the best Best Western I've been to but it was clean which is the main thing. Cons....Pool is outdoor and only open till 8. No hot tub. One of the rooms in our group wasn't ready till well after check in time. Room could have used a few more amenities such as toiletries. Cable was fuzzy. Toilet didn't like to flush. Shower didn't drain well. Breakfast was very basic, no waffles. Pros...it was clean. I can live with everything else as long as a place is clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was hot and good. Would I stay again? To save a few dollars I would or I might look for a place with more features but knowing I would pay more.

I rely on trip advisor and stayed here 2 nights for a wedding trip, because of the recommendation. From the first phone call the staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was updated and very comfortable. The morning coffee was good. Once home I realized that I had forgotten my camera charger. A call to inquire and it was mailed back to me, without delay. The staff really did a good job. We enjoyed Smiths Falls and can recommend this hotel.

I have stayed here once a year for the past 8 years. The staff is friendly and will do anything they can to accommodate your needs. The pool is nice in the summer; though not impeccable, it does the job for the kids. Rooms are generally clean. Continental breakfast is good.

Great place to stay loved our room and the pool. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The AC was on in our room before our arrival...Would highly recommend the hotel to all to stay at. Will be are first choice when we are close by again

Great staff, great service. So-so breakfast, standard room. But its the people that make the stay enjoyable. We were there for a rowing tour and stayed 2 nights. They pretty much knew our names by then!

The sheets were so silky and the bed was so comfortable plus the staff were just plain pleasant! The surprise was that there was a meeting room which really suited our group's needs. I also really liked being able to slide open a window.

I had reviewed a few years ago but feel I must write again as this place has maintained a very high standard of accommodation. I have stayed twice in the past 2 months and my experience was the same each time. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The place is very clean. The great breakfast is included-waffles, eggs, sausages, bagels, muffins, toast, cereals, etc. etc. The room also had a coffee maker, frig. I enjoyed the free WIFI in the room and also used the computer in the lobby. I look forward to my next stay.

Spent two nights at the Best Western Smiths Falls while doing some renovation work for family members nearby. Terrific that they have some pet friendly rooms so that our two dogs could be with us. Typically not-so-nice motels only offer this feature but we were happy to be able to stay at BW with their comfortable beds. Staff was super friendly and helpful!

Stayed in the deluxe room, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and always asked if they could be of assistance. At the time of my visit they were very busy but were able to provide a room on short notice.

Great accommodations and even better service. Having a continental breakfast is perfect for a busy family. I'll be back for sure. The kids enjoyed it too. We would have enjoyed it more if the pool had been open.

Staff are friendly , professional , accommodating . Hotel is centrally located and very clean . I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone . A bit expensive , but , you get what you pay for . If we are in the area we will certainly return to this hotel

Clean and pleasant. Very modern looking except there was no microwave in the room and no elevator to second floor. Be advised if you are disabled. Overall a good stay. Generally the real problem with hotels is noise from the other patrons and we did not experience that. People were well behaved. The breakfast was OK but does not cater to special needs such as gluten free or even decaffeinated coffee that isn't in a jar. Overall satisfactory.

Business takes me all over Ontario and it is great to get off the main highways. When traveling near the area I have found the Smiths Falls Best Western a very nice comfortable place to stay. I have no issues with staying here and continue to do whenever near.

We stayed here two nights in early June 2017 and the sour carpet smell was unbelievable. Hotel housekeeper seemed unable to understand her spray bottle of smelly perfume was CAUSING the odour, not fixing it. Next time I will book a room in a hotel with no carpet.

Absolutely worth the slightly higher cost considering the distance to all amenities, restaurants, etc. The other available hotels are not as new and are a little "wanting" in comparison. When I asked front desk attendants about a historical tidbit, one lady remembered the actual company which existed almost forty years ago! Of course she was a youth back then!

Good clean room, nice hot breakfast, excellent service, and all this at excellent price. Convienantly located one hour from Ottawa. We stayed during Canadian Tulip festival. All hotels in Ottawa were full or very costly.

Great hotel in Smith falls looks fairly new, large rooms very comfortable mattress and lots of pillows to choose from The Wi-Fi speed is OK the TV was small and the picture quality was not great possibly not HD Fantastic breakfast in the morning included with the room and the staff made me feel like I was at home I'll be back

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially the woman organizing the breakfasts. She went out of her way to ensure everyone was satisfied and happy. Nice clean rooms and a great location. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Overall I am happy with my experience. I was looking for a place that will accommodate my dog, and they did. I was hoping for one of the better rooms but they only allow certain rooms for people with pets. The cleaning fee was very reasonable at $10, prob one of the cheapest. Reception checking in/out was easy and friendly. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean... The breakfast was not for me, but I am a very picky eater... Location is convenient, very close to grocery store and food options. We only stayed one night. A few small observations that made it a 4 star not a 5: Small low res TV, the shower curtain was clean but worn, it was due to be replaced. The side door to get in would not shut properly from the inside, you really had to slam it shut and our room appeared to be shy on towels in the bathroom but I suspect it was part of being more environmentally friendly.

Being in the area for the weekend, my wife and I needed a room for a couple nights and discovered this Best Western on Google Maps. Would have liked to go e it 3-1/2 stars, but the rating system doesn't allow for that. The extra 1/2 star would have been for the fact that it offered everything we needed and it was clean. The take away 1/2 star was due to the fact that it is very basic, with not even an elevator to take our bags up, but not the end if the world. The building's exterior is as plain as can be and could use the slightest of landscaping, perhaps, to make it more welcoming in appearance. I had read other reviews that stated the included free breakfast offered little more than a continental spread. Although basic, it was on par with other hotels of this type, with oatmeal, eggs, sausage and yogurt on the menu. The fruit selection could have been better - there was non on our second day. The building's construction is that of simple wood framing, meaning that sounds transfers very easily. One thing that is out of step with other hotels is that the door to the rooms didn't have an auto closer. Result was that a number of guests see.ed compelled to slam them upon entering or leaving... Would we stay again? Sure.

Staff at the front desk were cheerful, and very helpful in suggesting places for dinner. The room was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of space to spread out and get work done in the evening. It is located a short walk from the town's core, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and impressive views of the river's rapids. A continental breakfast was standard fare, tasty and filling.

Excellent service, clean, comfortable rooms, and proximity to restaurants and retail make the Colonel By Inn an excellent choice if you're in the area. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Even the water pressure in the shower is exemplary.

I stayed here while traveling for business. For me the location was very convenient since I was doing business in town the next morning. My room was very clean with average accommodations. I had a ground floor room and felt a bit like I was part of the highway. But overall decent value.

I stayed at Best Western for a work trip. I found the morning staff at the desk to be very helpful. The location is convenient, close to the Via Rail, bank, and Walmart. The breakfast is very basic, I would not call it a real breakfast! The town has a flat rate of 10$ on cabs which was pretty great.

not fancy but comfortable place to stay. As it was November it was quiet which is good for me. Room was adequate, and a staff accommodating. Continental breakfast was fine. Business was in Perth but the cost of staying there was quite a bit higher

We stayed 1 night at this hotel while attending a festival in Merrickville, Ont. It is a 20 minute drive.Staff at front desk very friendly. We had a clean room with a Queen bed, fridge and clean large bathroom.Complimentary breakfast had a choice of cold and hot items constantly being replenished.There are shops and restaurants nearby.We would recommend this property and if in the area would choose to stay here again.

This Best Western was a very clean and quiet hotel. The front desk receptionist was very friendly making our stay great! It does not have a pool etc. but we only required an evening /night stay as we were visiting friends. It was a clean place to stay in a very small town

We were met by a pleasant desk clerk. The room was clean and neat. I had an appointment at a local car dealer for service that ran longer than expected and unfortunately miss breakfast so i am not ale to comment.

Had a quick lay over in Smith Falls. The hotel is in an awesome location as everything is within walking distance, which is nice, when you've been in the car for 5.5 hours. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations of what to do and where to eat. We would stay again for sure

We stayed one night in Aug, planned on 2 nights but moved on. The room was fine, queen bed, clean, washroom clean, quiet in the back area, the usual Best Western. The building was renovated from another brand. A few things didn't impress us...I originally chose it for the outdoor pool, it was in need of a pool attendant, scooping leaves, debris etc, just looked deserted. Air conditioning was good, ice machine worked. There is a second floor but no elevator, the main stairs go up in the centre at the front desk. I felt bad for the front desk employee as he worked everything, alone. Including phones, check in, folding the laundry for rooms, getting amenities for rooms ie: box of tissue....to the poor lady in the morning who struggled to keep the continental breakfast stocked while scooting over to answer phones. Everyone was nice and accommodating, just busy. Come on owner, hire another employee at least for the morning rush, and afternoon check in. Overall a decent room, $139.00 because it was a Friday which drives me crazy...$129.00 with CAA discount

3 friends and I were passing through the area on our motorcycles. After a long 4 days on the road, all we needed were clean and comfortable accommodations. This being our first time in Smith's Falls, we had nothing to go on, made a quick phone call prior to getting into town, to ensure that the Best Western had a room for us. What a great surprise. The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and personable. Our rooms were not only very clean, modern and spacious, but also very reasonably priced ($119 with discount). The included continental breakfast was nothing special, but I wouldn't expect more from a continental breakfast. I speak for all 4 of us when I say that we won't hesitate to stay here again.

We were visiting relatives nearby and needed a place to stay overnight. We booked this hotel because it seemed decent and was close by. We checked in late afternoon and were greeted by Paul. He was so friendly and helpful. He drew a map showing how to get to the main street area and suggested we walk by the water. He also recommended a place for dinner which was very good. The room was much nicer than we expected. Very clean, smelled nice and the a/c worked well. They don't provide shower caps and the curtains could have been a couple of inches wider to block out more light, but the beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The breakfast was also pretty good with a selection of breads and items to make breakfast sandwiches with. My husband asked about the gluten free options and they gave him GF cereal and almond milk. The morning staff were just as friendly as Paul was the night before. We would stay here again if we are ever in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay. The AC worked great and so the air quality of the room was excellent. The outdoor pool was perfect after a hot day. Overall, everything was clean and comfortable, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was a perfect spot to relax upon our arrival - and have fun with our grandson. The best part of this facility was the welcoming staff. They really made our stay enjoyable.

My wife and I found this hotel to be convenient, welcoming and comfortable. We were here for two nights and enjoyed typical continental breakfasts in an atmosphere that was warm and inviting. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the food area as well as its presentation. The staff did all they could to make certain that our stay was a pleasant one. We would not hesitate to return.

Recently stayed for the long weekend and brought our dog. Had never stayed at a Best Western although we travel frequently. Saw the reviews on TripAdvisor and booked. Blown away by the cleanliness of the hotel and room, the helpful and friendly staff and the amazing breakfast available. Close to everything. Frankly didn't want to leave. A better than wonderful rest and experience. We hope to return soon.

The hotel was nice,staff friendly..Outside pool main reason we picked this hotel..The pool pump was off because of outside construction on hotel.Pool was dirty would not use it..Road out front of hotel also under construction,so there were some traffic issues and noise as well.But it all boils down to the pool,it was hot,humid and all we wanted to do after looking around town was relax in the pool.

The Smiths Falls location is very comfortable. Rooms are up to date and no issues with anything was experienced. I have stayed here several times while on business travel and would recommend this hotel when in the area.

This is your average Best Western. Stayed the night in Smiths Falls for work, and was able to check in early which was great after traveling 5 hours to get there. As a platinum rewards member, most Best Westerns acknowledge this with a free upgrade if available or a bottle of water and snack, but not at this location. Oh well, not a big deal. Room was very clean, bed was extremely comfortable, but the pillows were not great. Enjoyed the fact there were black out blinds. I wasn't able to sample the free breakfast as I had to work. Would most likely stay here again by choice if I am ever in the area.

This Best Western hotel was clean and the staff were friendly close to all the amenities, the wi fi was fast and the room meet our needs with comfortable beds and adequate room area. Good value for money.

One night at this nice clean hotel..Definitely the best in Smiths Falls. The pool was not open but it was cold so that was fine. Breakfast was good although they no longer have sausages with the free breakfast which was a bit disappointing..aside from that great place!

The pool was advertised on your website, arrived and found out it wasn't swimmable. It was over 30 degrees outside and couldn't use he pool. In my room, the drawers were closed and remained closed when I didn't have my belongings in them. Once I unpacked and placed my belongings in the drawers, they would just roll open and stay open, which posed a problem with getting up in the night and forgetting the drawer was open. Potential injuries. So I made sure I would tape them shut, but for the money I'm paying I shouldn't have to do that. The fan in the bathroom was not working properly and was extremely loud when turned on. The sound was quite obnoxious and bothersome. For the breakfast it would have been nice to have breakfast sausage with the eggs or bacon.

I have been using this same Hotel for the last 5 years at the same time every year and have never had any problems. We have been pleased with everyone from the front desk to those that clean our room. Definitely recommend this Hotel!

I have stayed in Smiths Falls several times when I travel the area. Nice hotel when off the major highways. Breakfast menu has changed since last visit with limited hot items now which I enjoyed as a morning start. Overall good rating

This property offers a warm and relaxing stay. The décor is homey and welcoming. We had a whirlpool room, very enjoyable after a long day. We were advised of good restaurants for dinner and provided with a map to help with directions. Service by the staff was excellent. We were there before the open season for the pool, hopefully next time.

Surprisingly cleaner than most hotels, decent staff, low rates, comfy beds, very clean bathrooms. All that you need, not many perks...essentials. Ok place to stay for this area. Free parking and wifi. Walking distance to groceries and restaurants.

Stayed two nights for a conference in town. The hotel staff is friendly, the rooms are well appointed and clean. Breakfast is standard fare. Shopping and other fast food establishments very close. I would stay here again should I be in the area for overnight.

We stayed here for the night and got a room facing the front of the building with a king bed and sliding doors on the first floor. We were very satisfied with this room as it was clean and inviting and we especially loved having the sliding doors which I believe only 2 rooms are lucky to have. It was a Wed night so not much traffic and there was no noise at all. Simon who was working the front desk was very professional upon our arrival and very friendly. We enjoy a lovely continental breakfast in the morning consisting of home fries, sausages, scrambled eggs with ham, green peppers, onions and cheese on top. They also have many other items such as cereal, waffles, toast, yogourt, fruit, juices and tea or coffee. There is also a Toronto Star available for you if you like. Never an issue here,..quite clean and the staff are all amazing, thank you.

Very clean and welcoming hotel. Seemed to be fairly new. The hotel was comfortable and quiet. Enjoyed having a breakfast included to save finding somewhere in the morning on the way to meeting. Would recommend to others.

Within walking distance to start line of Spring Fling Running Thing (2K through Half Marathon running races) on April 17th. Checked in the night before from Ottawa, had a good breakfast and walked over to the event (10 min.) Clean and quiet hotel. Great experience.

I came across this property about a year ago. I was looking for hotel outside Ottawa that would be more on my travel route. Nice find in this Best Western. Comfortable with everything I needed for a business stay.

Well maintained property. Not always easy to find such great accommodations in smaller towns when on business travel. Rooms are up to date and all services are fine. Good selection on the breakfast table to start the day off. I will come back.

Great price. Close to local ammenities. Clean rooms. Nice breakfast assortment. Would suggest installing comfort height toilets if renovating in future. Do stop By the Colonel By Inn Hotel if you need a place to stay in Smiths Falls. I'll stay again for sure.

It is not the first time I have stayed at this hotel. I must say that it is one of the" best" Best Westerns I stay at. The staff are just so super friendly and helpful, the place is spotless. I enjoyed WIFI in my room and the breakfast was fantastic.

We stayed here last evening for one night. Unfortunately we got a room at the back of the hotel and we were very disappointed. After we checked in, there was a McDonald's 18 wheeler that parked in the back parking lot behind our room and the driver had the generator on the truck going all night. This was very disappointing as we literally did not sleep allll night with the noise. Never again will we stay in the back of the hotel again. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the hotel and the driver just had to walk 3 minutes back,..and I am sure the hotel staff probably know this but unfortunately I am sure we were not the only guests who suffered a sleepless night. Otherwise, our room was clean as it always is, there is never an issue with that. We had a nice continental breakfast of sausages, scrambled eggs with green peppers, ham and cheese as well as home fries. There is also lots of toast, muffins, yogourt, tea, coffee, juices and fruit and cereals. The desk clerk was noticably upset at one point when she had to clean up some of the opened sugar packages, tea wrappers and stir sticks that were left on the food counter. But in everyone's defense, there is no nearby garbage or even a paper cereal bowl left for this purpose. We shall return as this is literally the best place in Smiths Falls, but we will get a different room.

The staff can be proud of their work. The room was very clean and up-to-date with built-in fiberglass shower, flat-screen television, and comfortable mattress & bedding. The free breakfast had real sausage, home fries, and scrambled eggs along with the usual English muffins, etc., and though the hotel was very busy on a Thursday night, there were plenty of seats available when we went down about 8 a.m. on Friday to the small breakfast area. We plan to stay here again the next time we attend an entertaining show at The Station Theatre on Victoria Street, just five minutes away.

The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The hotel was clean and safe. I found the bed incredibly comfortable, and it was quiet all night. I had a great sleep. There were many breakfast options - not just muffins

This is our go-to hotel in Smiths Falls. The staff has been consistently friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is good (though mostly premade) - with a wide selection of food. Most of all the hotel is usually fairly quiet and is always clean.

Courteous, friendly staff. The breakfast had offered a great variety of items (eggs, home fries, sausage, bagels/bread, fresh fruit, muffins, waffles). Close to restaurants and shopping. Inviting lobby with comfy chairs and access to computer and printer.

The housekeeping staff (Ann and Glenda) were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good (catered by the Roosteraunt). The only problem with breakfast was that there wasn't enough seating for everyone and the time to get breakfast wasn't long enough and on the hour would clear all food away even though people were still trying to get something to eat. You would have some people sitting there reading the paper or just talking and drinking coffee with no common courtesy for the rest of the patrons who haven't eaten yet. The tables weren't cleaned either until after breakfast was all done. Some of the front desk staff need a course on customer service. I didn't get her name but she was young and blonde and was so disinterested and what I consider lazy. We were there for quite some time. The pool is outside and not heated (so the water was quite cold) and the chairs are dirty, some broken and no umbrellas for the sun.
