Prestige Hudson Bay Lodge & Conference Centre

I'm not sure what options are available in Smithers but I was disappointed. Last year I came here for New Years Eve. Had an epic time! There was a live band, dinner and the room was awesome! This year I convinced family and friends to book at the same hotel. I booked the nicest room they had this time. Let me tell you I was disappointed in the cleanliness. There was someone's hair and was looked like hair and nail clippings in the shower. Also there was old food left in the fridge. The shower water also leaked outside the room. I was embarrassed that I convinced so many people to stay there. Next year I want to go back to Smithers but will probably book a cabin.

Have stayed at the Prestige Hudson Bay Lodge around 5 times. It's one of my favourite hotels. Awesome staff, clean, quiet, good food, and in a beautiful town. The pub (Don Cherry's) is great too -- good food.

Excellent customer service & the entire venue gorgeous. Will stay there on all future business travel and will recommend to others. The rates were well priced and economical for personal stay as well.

We stayed one night enroute to Vancouver in July. What a truly wonderful and pleasant stay. Upon arrival we were met at the front desk by Ananth and Anthony. I cannot say enough nice things about them, they were very professional and helpful. They made us feel welcome and valued as guests and went out of their way to make our stay extra special. I was given a room on the first floor and asked for one on the second floor. They kindly accommodated my request and Ananth retrieved the gift basket that was in the first floor room and brought it to us. There were many wonderful goodies including a hand written card. We certainly never expected this and it was truly appreciated. Our room was very tidy, clean and quiet even though the hotel was quite full. The bed was super comfortable as were the pillows. The bathroom was nicely set up and everything looked new. This was a most wonderful stay and I had one of the best sleeps ever (I generally do not sleep that well at night). Thank you so much Ananth and Anthony. I hope your manager recognizes how hard you work and the awesome professional and caring manner in which you present yourselves and treat your guests. This is a big part for me if I return to a hotel or not and I will definitely stay here again. Thank you again you made our stay wonderful and extra special.

This hotel has everything (but a pool). Staff were great, hotel was clean and in a good location. The food was good as well and you have a choice of 200 bars to hang out in after a long day of work. The conference staff worked hard to ensure everyone was taken care of. I'd recommend this hotel for business or personal.

Nice facilities it should have been a great stay. However the Hotel has a busy bar and the parking lot was noisey with drunks and pigs using the bathroom outdoors until midnight followed by 2 am staggering and shouting in the hallway by drunks returning from bars. Drive farther down the road for a better night's rest and cheaper stay. Additionally they charge $30 a night for single pet, not really what you call pet friendly.

The hotel was very clean and quiet, the room was large and very comfortable and also very clean. The price was very reasonable, I can't remember the last time I paid that price for a good night's sleep in a hotel.

What an incredible experience to stay at the Prestige Resort in Smithers BC. Every year I take my children for a spring vacation to ski at Hudson Bay Mountain. It was my first time staying at the Prestige. We stayed in a suite that had a separate bedroom. The living room and bedroom had stunning views of the mountains. I am a very light sleeper and had no issues sleeping - very quiet! The suite also had a kitchenette that allowed us to cook our own meals. We did dine for a few meals at the Noir Restaurant onsite and the food and service was excellent. I plan to stay here again next year!

And if you're looking for a little excitement, be sure to ask about their resident ghost who haunts the halls...or maybe it's just a really pale housekeeper, who knows? Spent weekend here in mid December. Very friendly, clean hotel. Seemed a bit older but has been kept up well. Close to ski hill and all amenities. Would be perfect if pool/hot tub to enjoy after day of skiing.

I was greeted by wonderful, friendly staff upon my arrival to the Prestige in Smithers this month. With a blanket of snow on the ski hill in the distance, the property was well maintained and very clean on the inside. Measures' are still in place from Covid which i know means something to a ton of people. Check in was quick, my room was clean and modern and i love the fact once i am at the hotel there is no reason to leave unless you want to. Great food and beverage options available and vending machines for snacks if thats the way you want to go.

We stayed there Friday and Saturday night. Was supposed to stay Sunday but we checked out early. Problem Saturday night with someone pulling a fire alarm. They now have a sports bar on the property, there was a lot of noise in the halls and outside the bar, then the fire alarm , the front desk did step up and do the right thing for us, going forward if I stayed again I would ask to be as far away from bar area if you want a good nights sleep. Maybe they should have a chat with the lease holders of Don Cherry spirts bar and set some ground rules. Usually a good place to stay.

I have stayed at the Prestige many time over the last 10 years. Each time the experience has been very positive, notwithstanding the craziness of COVID the last three years. Now that "normal" times are back I once again expect to stay at the Prestige in 2023 while on business in the Buckley Valley and Smithers.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay!! I truly appreciate the amazing front staff. I also loved returning to a nicely made bed each evening. I will definitely make this our stay next time we are in the area!!

We moved here after finding our booked hotel to be very disappointing. The Prestige was very accommodating to our last minute booking and we were much happier here. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the room was well appointed with nice comfy beds. Service was excellent. No continental breakfast but there is a nice breakfast restaurant on site.

We checked into the handicap room and found only a bed, dresser, fridge and a single kitchen style chair. No microwave, table or desk. I am not sure how they expect two people to be comfortable in a space like that. Repeated requests to the front desk for more comfortable chairs was ignored. I would not stay there again.

Great staff works at the front desk. It was a too busy day. Even though they could accommodate me by providing the very last room they had. Even the front desk staff provided me the equipment i forgot home with a spare one. Restaurant has a great delicious menu.

Rooms were clean. Unfortunately handicapped room is a very long way down a thick carpeted hallway. Very hard to get to. The room itself was ok once in it. The bathroom door opens in so once the wheelchair is in you can't close it which is very unfortunate. View was nice. Staff was friendly. I booked two rooms and wondered why they put us on different floors when once they got there they had adjoining rooms. It was a family of 5. Comfortable beds and quiet place to stay. If you don't have a wheelchair it would have been fantastic.

We loved all your beautiful hanging baskets. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Room was absolutely perfect and super clean. Loved the sports pub on site! Breakfast was awesome considering they were short-staffed (something we experienced at the other seven hotels we stayed at on our trip). Although we were a Senior motorcycle group, I noticed you also had a lovely grass area for pet owners with dogs - a nice touch. Also loved your benches out front for some of us smokers. Everything was so thoughtful to make anyone's stay very enjoyable. Thank you! PS Reservation by phone was so easy and the person was very friendly.

Food was great and the staff were very helpful and informative. The overall experience was great! I would highly recommend the Prestige Hudson Bay Hotel. The grounds were very nice and well kept. Smithers is a very pretty town. Hoping to return in the near future.

Given the price we paid I expected more, but this is just a basic, large motel. The staff did not communicate well and seemed indifferent. Their processes seemed inefficient. There were maintenance issues, like the exit in our wing of the building didn't close. This place is not right downtown near the restaurants but rather about a mile south of town. To be fair, it was clean and met the basic need, but I left wishing the other, better places in town weren't full the night we came through. If you can stay somewhere else, you'll be better off.

Front staff and housekeeping do a fabulous job with genuine friendliness! Shout out to the great Pizza Oven and Don Cherries pub and eggcellent Eggs Bennie's at Noir's! This staff works hard and oh yeah the view of Hudson Bay Mountain is spectacular!

Always enjoy staying at the Hudson Bay Lodge. Lots of parking, great food & service. Convenient to everything and a great spot to gather with friends & family. Especially like their kitchen units. Will come again.

We loved the Stay at your Hotel it was very peaceful & enjoyable R&R. Friendly Staff and very accommodating services. Definitely recommended it to loved ones to stay at the Lodges in the Future & also had A Family member take Students to the Hotel in a different City after sharing my experience. Thank your guys staff for a comforting stay. Will be back in future.

I booked a room for my parents over the May long weekend. Unfortunately I booked the completely incorrect type of room! Thank goodness for Carlos at the desk and the hardworking housekeepers! They moved my parents the next day to the perfect room and they were very comfortable. Thank you!

We booked the one bedroom suite for two nights. The room seemed clean but was well used. The furniture was tired, and walls needed repair and painting. The bed was comfortable. The flooring is the older style laminate, so you could hear every footstep from the room above.

Rooms very nice and looked recently renovated. The beds were very comfortable. The check in and out was very quick. The restaurant was very good. The lobby was clean and nicely decorated. Parking was located at the back of the building.

Nice hotel, good location and good facilities. There is a selection of a sports bar or restaurant bar. The breakfasts are very good and the rooms are well equipped and clean. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The Smithers Prestige was an excellent stop for an overnight business trip. They helped us get a late reservation and treated us very well. The rooms were excellent to work in. The wifi worked really well and I was able to connect with my clients.

Very professional and accommodating staff. Everyone makes sure you have a great experience at the hotel and meet your needs. I also really enjoyed the fact that we have access to restaurants on site with delicious meals!

Excellent stay while on business in the area, traveling back from visiting family the week before. We had a very comfortable stay with excellent internet connectivity and my wife was particularly pleased that the TV channels included a property improvement programming. While the quality and cleanliness of the property and room were excellent, the rate does not include a breakfast.

We stayed for one night before flying out the next day. There is a huge carpark behind the hotel. The restaurant is clean, beautifully firnished, clean. The staff were attentive, helpful, polite. Food was great. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet and well equipped, we would stay again. One of the best hotels we have stayed in.

The garbage cans has not been emptied. The room smelled like someone sprayed a whole can of febreze, the sheets felt gritty and the towels looked used but hung back up. I was very disappointed in this room as I have stayed at this location several times before.

I was pleasantly surprised by the courtesy and care with which I was treated. Any questions, concerns, or requests were handled promptly and effectively! The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and efficient! I would recommend your property to ANYONE traveling in the area! Is there a partnership with the Smithers Golf Course?

This is the best available hotel option in Smithers, BC. The hotel is nicely situated, has been recently situated, some rooms have a good view and is generally enjoyable. The food and service was good.

The front desk got my bill wrong and it took some time to sort it out. They had a cheerful and helpful attitude. The rooms have been updated and I would call them excellent. Yes I will stay here again.

Fantastic customer service; The staff really went above and beyond. Check in was pleasant and there was a lovely surprise in our room! Nice, clean hotel. I wouldnt go back to any others in town. Definitely recommend

I had terrible service. The hotel cancelled my reservation the week before my stay that was booked directly with the hotel and confirmed with my credit card because they chose to overbook and then push out their customers that were not AAA guests as they called them. There was no other hotels available or air bnbs because of a movie. The hotel should have honoured the reservations booked prior to them overbooking like every other hotel that people where staying in coming for the same event. The prestige was the only one that I am aware of that cancelled their reservations. I also have left over 6 messages for the manager to contact me directly to discuss the situation and coming up to a month later I have yet to hear from them. I am always told they will contact you. A movie comes and goes but many of us are regular customers. You will be the last choice for our stays in the future.

Absolutely TERRIBLE SERVICE, especially the front desk and.negating y confirmed reservation.............................IF you won't accept my input I will post ....HHopfully that will enhance your commitment to customer service. - sadly lacking to returning customers.....OR. not

They canceled my reservation, which was made 3 weeks in advance, 2 days prior to my arrival. Apparently, they had a large group coming in so they bump the "little guy" and leave me scrambling for a hotel. I travel and stay at Best Western branded hotel a lot and this is the worst experience I have ever had.

$200 per night and a room worth half that price. Power was out across town though the room held the warmth. The staff was courteous and helpful. Covid regulations were over the top but it's their country.

Stayed there on my way through Smithers. Not too far from shops, easy to find, and great dining facilities. The servers were excellent and breakfast at Noir was a real treat and is a must. Rooms are not the newest but definitely no complaints, clean and not smelly. Well maintained and this comes from a germaphobe. Nice mountain view, quiet, and well rested. I would recommend and book here again.

Hotels that are 3 star should not be charging 250 per night for a small room with one bed in it. All the locals in the area keep this place going so why not have reasonable rates. I paid 250 in a 6 star in Vancouver that had a pool, 3 restaurants, a casino, and bell service. It doesn't add up in this hotel to charge that much.

Would not recommend, old over used hotel. No breakfast, not even coffee. They have tried to renovate, but the cost per night puts this place way out of reasonable. Smithers is very expensive. Find another location!

We enjoyed our stay at Prestige in Smithers. I was there on business but brought family with me and found the hotel to be warm, friendly, pleasant , clean and exceeding of our expectations. I would not hesitate to book at this hotel again should circumstances bring me to Smithers BC again.

I feel I was overcharged for a two night accommodation, I was misinformed of the hours of Don Cherry's Grill and we were turned away before they were even closed for the night. The next day at dinner hour, the waitress needs to visit her friends on her own time, because I waited far to long because she was talking with another female at a table and had her back turned and it wasn't till her friend seen me and pointed at me that I was waiting to be served. I will Never stay at this over priced hotel again.

Rachel at the front desk is super pleasant and professional. She is knowledgeable and the front desk runs smoothly in my experience. Quick check in, clean modern rooms and having a place to eat and have a beverage on site is great. Backdrop of the ski hill is a great view.

Disappointed when we pulled up. Run down and the lobby felt very unwelcoming. First room assigned was across from the pub. Was quickly changed when requested. Initially was told they were completely booked but this was not apparent as the evening went on. Sleep was ok the rooms were ok but certainly not as advertised.

Just received my third lousy meal in the restaurant. This hotel was recommended by my company as a place to stay but they later clarified it that they recommended it because it was close. We used to laugh about the lumpy comforters and endless lobby renovations but I've had enough. After a long hard day at work I don't feel like paying high prices for inedible food. This 3rd meal was an all-time low, with multiple issues, and now I get to go to sleep hungry. Checking out in the morning. Not coming back.

We booked here last minute, so that may have been some of the confusion. But we were put into a room that was already occupied. And then they obviously switched us, but to another occupied room! After that we got sorted out and the hotel was fine. Nice beds, clean, etc. But it was the most expensive place in town and not worth the close to $200 a night.

Beds were comfy. Staff was friendly. Everything was very clean. Room a little dark, and bathroom was small, but was fine for a few nights. About a 15 minute walk to downtown, which was convenient. Restaurant hours and options still don't seem to be up and running full speed out of the pandemic, so we are in town where there are some lovely restaurants.

I've stayed a number of times at the Prestige. It has always been clean (ignore the current lobby renos), friendly and convenient. I recommend to anyone looking for quality accommodations in Smithers.

During my last visit I was exceptionally pleased by the warm atmosphere and constant commitment by this location to improve and always provide great service. The lovely folks at the front desk and wonderful servers at the on site restaurant always aim to please. Polite, professional and I really like they take the time to remember peoples names who frequent here often. My last visit was Monday, February 8th and all staff were exceptional. I make a point to ensure I can always stay here when I have a night to stay in Smithers. The view of the ski hill from the parking lot is like a postcard.

Stayed one night while working in the area. Room was clean and staff were friendly. Good COVID protocols. I was on the ground floor and it was a bit noisy from the floor above. Would recommend staying on the top floor.

Stayed at this amazing property which was very Covid compliant. The staff were friendly and the housekeeping personnel very accommodating. I would definitely pick this as my place to stay next time I am back in Smithers British Columbia

Had a bad welcome from unfriendly ladies at the front desk. Expensive for such an ugly room in a hotel located pretty far from the mainstreet on the way out of town. I do not recomend this hotel to anybody.
