"Very Nice and Friendly Hotel"
Really well placed hotel in the centre of Saint Beriuc. We paid a bit more for a small salon room attached to the bedroom and we had a nice balcony with a view of the square. The rooms were nice and clean, with a very comfortable bed (always important). The staff were very friendly, especially the lady who checked us in on a Sunday afternoon and who went out of her way to make sure we well orientated with Saint Beriuc . There is a good bistro attached to the Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again. By the way, Saint Beriuc is a foodie paradise.
"Exceptional service by the receptionist"
This review is long overdue, but I felt it needed to said. This past summer I arrived without any reservation at this hotel. It was Saturday August 12th, the busiest holiday weekend of August, Quinze Août. So when I asked if there was a room the lady at the reception said this would impossible to find. In Saint Brieuc or anywhere else. Still, she tried. And how... She went out of her way and didn't give up. Meanwhile she was really busy checking in arriving guests, but every free minute she had in between she was on the phone calling others hotels. About 2 hours later, when i didn't expect anything anymore, she proudly came out of her office to announce she found a place. I unfortunately do not remember her name, but this lady deserves huge credits for her service. Without a reservation at this Best Western Hotel there was no reason why she needed to help me. Yet she did. And that is something special that I truly appreciate. Thank you very much and Merry Christmas to all the staff of this hotel and in particular to the receptionist who was on duty the Saturday evening of August 12th.

"Well located, but simple hotel"
The hotel consists of two buildings (at least we were told when looking for the reception) and is located right next to a church in the old town. We arrived late, which wasn't a problem. The staff was helpful and friendly. The elevator to the rooms is very small and smells of food (or fish or something else). Also in the rooms, you'll smell the restaurant which is located in the ground level of one of the buildings. This wasn't very pleasant, but as we stayed only for a night, it was OK. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable, so the stay overall was quite nice.
"Complete darkness in corridor- otherwise would be a nice hotel"
Firstly to explain. The corridor where you enter your room has no windows or natural light and is completely, utterly pitch black . The wall Lights are on timers so only come on in the evening(?!!) even if it were true ( as another reviewer posted that they say there is a light outside your door(?!) , you'd still have to walk through the pitch black corridor to get to it, in the pitch black( you are getting my point) . Second negative- the taxi driver number the hotel provided me with when I rang in. This taxi driver seemed angry I'd got a small dog( he was very rude actually, AND expected a tip) and charged me twenty euros for a very short journey( I was walking with crutches also so really didn't need hassle like this), while on the return journey with the same company, but a different driver I was charged just seven euros.Perhaps time to review who they recommend? On to the hotel. Good value, friendly helpful receptionists and waiters. Central town location. Nice cafe restaurant with indoor covered seating and outdoor seating which seems a popular meeting place for locals. Room was perfectly fine. Have only given it three stars due to the lack of lighting issue. Very clean with coffee making facilities.
"Hopelessly lost!"
Do not attempt to find this hotel unless you have a Sat Nav. The directions on the hotel website were vague and once in the town we spent almost an hour trying to find the hotel. Once found we parked in the only place available - the underground car park we were told this was expensive for overnight but we could move our car at 7 pm in pedestrian zone until9 am . A lot of hassle but the staff were understanding! And we had to grope round in the dark corridor at night as no light came on! Finally we were told it was outside one of the bedrooms. Not ideal and another frustration!!

Dear Cruise, As we are situated in the heart of the city it is I agree difficult to find the hotel when it is the first time you visit Saint Brieuc. Its such a shame you did not call us as you could'nt find the hotel because we are always happy to help with directions. The underground car park you mentionned is quite expensive as its a secured one but fortunetely we do have special prices to be able to park there with a price of 6€ for 15 hours parking. And for our guest going out on visit all day they do have the possibility to park their car for free in the pedestrian street just in front of the hotel from 7pm to 10am.. Sincerely, Reception
"Average stay, Hotel in central location."
Overall an ok stay, although found town centre to be less than impressive. Good points: Location central, helpful staff on reception, rooms presented well. Bad points: no air con, no parking on site, noisy room overlooking high street.

Dear Lollypop_cv3, First of all, thank you for taking time to write your comment after staying in our establishment. It is very important for us to know the good and bad points after a stay in our hotel. Its a chance for us to improve our services. Our hotel being located in the heart of the city I can accord you that it is sometimes difficult to park near the hotel, but we do try our best to refer clients to the nearest car park.We also advise people that it is possible to park their car in the pedestrian street where the hotel is located, free of charge from 7pm to 10 am.Its a good solution for people out all day. You probably stayed with us when the weather was very hot (how Lucky you..), unfortunetly the weather isn't hot enough in Brittany to consider investing in air conditionning for all the rooms. We do hope you had time to visit our lovely region, and we are hoping to see you again for another futur stay.. Sincerely Karine
"Very central hotel in St Brieuc"
Excellently sited hotel for a stay in St Bieuc,. Right near the shopping centre yet quiet enough at night. There is a good restaurant which opens every day, even Sunday evenings, plus a host of other restaurants to choose from nearby when one fancies a change. The staff are very kind and nothing is too much trouble for them. Room was comfortable and the bathroom was a really good size and very clean. Shall return, for sure.

"Excellent "
The place is simply awesome. It's located in center city. The service is excellent with a warm and kind welcome from the reception to the enter restaurant. Rooms are French style with all necessary things for a good sleep and confort. Restaurant in addition was really characteristic and I had delicious dishes. Breakfast too was in a fancy atmosphere with great view and quality and variety of food. Really a great hotel.

"Good for a business stay, very central"
Good beds and excellent breakfast available at a 6.5 euros. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Free parking at night on street and secure public carpark a few moments away. A very busy town and difficult approach to the hotel. We had to park some distance away and ask directions and walk there initially.

"tres agreable"
All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and allowed us time to practice our French. A comfortable stay and a very good breakfast. Also a good restaurant for dinner. Slight difficulty at start knowing where to park but staff sorted this out and explained where parking was available.

"Excellent stay"
It was well-situated, clean, comfortable, quiet, very affordable. Loved it. I used to live in Saint-Brieuc and it was a great place to stay for my visit back. Make sure to stop at Chez Rollais nearby for a glass of wine!
"An overnight stay at the start of the Fougeres rally"
We had a very warm welcome by the hotel reception who kindly advised she had room for us in the main hotel building, there are two and in view of the rain we were most grateful to be in the main building. We had a nice room at the back of the hotel - with a kettle in the room which was a plus. We found that the bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

Dear Madam and Sir! We were very pleased to welcome you in our hotel in occasion of Rallye Fougères 2014! Thank you very much for your comment on this website and we hope to see you soon. Best regards.
"Mixed stay"
This hotel has both good and bad points. We stayed for 3 nights in November. Good location, difficult car parking, breakfast was very poor and was not included inthe room proce - quite exepnsive for what it was. Would be noisy at most times of year due to square right outside building. Wifi did not work whole time we were there, had to use ethernet cable, which we always carry. Hotel restaurant was quite good, staff were friendly / helpful, fairly good english. Would not stay here again.
