"Nice Hotel/Motel and Breakfast"

4
07/11/2018

it's an older place and is a combo of hotel and the old-type of motel where you park your car in front of your room door. At check in, you're asked if you are a Best Western member. If not, it takes 2 minutes to sign up and you get a bottle of water and a cookie! You also get a breakfast form that you take to the restaurant and they will prepare what you checked on the form. The rooms were a little dated but very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Warning - i asked for a cinnamon roll and it was the size of a loaf of bread!! They serve excellent coffee too. Our server checked on us often and brought us coffee to go. We walked around the hotel part where there are meeting rooms and a pool. The rooms in the hotel part looked more up-to-date or recently renovated. We booked our room on Priceline for $108 which was $50 cheaper than going thru the Best Western reservation call center. If we are in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Dear Gypsylady ~ Thank you for writing a wonderful review - full of compliments! - about The Outlaw Inn. We appreciate your taking time out from travels to let other travelers know about our Award Winning property which has seen extensive remodeling of both its public areas (Lobby, Open Range Restaurant, Open Range Bar, Public Restrooms, Pool Area) and its rooms (33 Outside/Drive-up - where you stayed, Suites - Double Queens, Single Kings - all inside corridor) over the past 8 years. Pleased also you found the check-in process enjoyable as well as your free, made-to-order breakfast in our Open Range Dining Room "very good" with the portions and service both noteworthy. (our famous Cinnamon Rolls :) And we especially appreciate your saying "won't hesitate to stay here" next time you travel through the Wide Open Spaces of the big Wyo! Hope your travels home to Box Elder, SD were safe and enjoyable. Happy trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Passing through, was a nice, quiet, comfortable room. Average price, get what you pay for plus the extra nice staff. Breakfast was hot and good. On the road again? They'll fill your travel mug and/or thermos with coffee.

Dear Lisa ~ Thank you! for writing a very complimentary note - Five Star!! - following your stay at The Outlaw Inn last week. We appreciate your mentioning our full-service property by saying "nice, quiet, comfortable room." The Open Range Restaurant Crew also likes to know you found your Free, Complimentary Breakfast to be "hot and good," Thanks also for mentioning our "extra nice Staff" as their goal is to keep our guests Happy and Comfortable. Looking forward to seeing you and yours again - next time you're passing through the big, wide-open spaces of Southwest Wyoming. Until then.............. Happy Trails. Mark D. "2 night stay"

29/10/2018

We stayed two nights and enjoyed it for the most part. The rooms are fantastically clean and comfortable, the hotel layout is different but quite nice. It is quiet, the staff are wonderful and beyond helpful. We would stay here again. We had only one complaint and that is that the room temperature was steady at 75.... way too warm for sleeping.... the thermostat wouldn't adjust the temp..... maybe it's locked in somehow at 75....even tried the air conditioning..... if that problem was fixed I would rate Outlaw Inn totally excellent.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Ann from Newcastle ~ Thank you for writing a note to share your experience at The Outlaw Inn. We appreciate your compliments about your Rooms - "fantastically clean and comfortable" - and our staff - "wonderful and beyond helpful. I will personally pass your thoughts on to our Housekeeping and Front Desk Staff members. As owner/manager I am, however, concerned that your individual room thermostat was not working to your satisfaction and have asked our Maintenance Manager to address that problem immediately - Thanks for letting us know. Given our high standards of customer care at The Outlaw Inn - we are very pleased to know you plan to make a return visit and, beyond the thermostat problem, would rate our full-service property as "excellent." We look forward to seeing you again when travels bring you back to the High Desert of Wyoming. We hope you and your family experienced a Safe and Happy trip home to Utah. Best regards, Mark D. "Unusual layout, reminiscent of a motel"

3
26/10/2018

Our stay was OK, but personally we found the design of the hotel a little oppressive (dark with no natural sunlight). There was a strong smell of chlorine from the indoor pool around which the hotel rooms are grouped in a layout that is very reminiscent of a motel. Service in the restaurant was good, both at dinner and at breakfast. The breakfast option we had booked was very, very limiting - we were allowed to choose only three items off the menu. Unfortunately, that was a little meagre compared to all the other places we stayed during our road trip.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Stuttgart Traveler ~ Thank you for writing a note to let us know about your stay with us last week. With regard to the design of the hotel: The Outlaw Inn was designed in 1965 and is a well-preserved example of what is known as Mid-Century Design in the United States. Over the past 10 years the majority of both rooms and public areas of the full-service property have been completely renovated (the Open Range Bar is our most recent project) and we take pride in our AAA 3-Diamond Award as well as our Certificate of Achievement from Trip Advisor. Glad you found the service in the Open Range Restaurant to be "good" but surprised you found our hearty portions to be "meagre." Next time we recommend a special request to your waiter for an even larger portion. We hope you'll plan to stop in again when you find yourself driving through Southwest Wyoming. Until then - may all your travels be Safe. Best regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Great Venue for Large Groups"

18/10/2018

I was recently a guest at The Outlaw Inn, along with close to fifty other wildlife enthusiasts. The Outlaw Inn staff were friendly, courteous, professional, and helpful 100% of the time. Our group stayed for a week, and we did not get tired of this hotel. It is one of the older more comfortable hotels in Wyoming and has been well maintained. The rooms are nicely furnished, offer private entrances, and well suited for travelers needing some work space. My room had a nice refrigerator, micro-wave, and everything else that I needed. The kitchen and bar staff are great folks to work with and they serve delicious food and beverages. I will stay here again, and have no qualms recommending the Outlaw Inn to friends. Our group was totally satisfied and happy with our week long stay at this wonderful hotel.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Old Birds from Bozeman ~ Thank you very much for writing a wonderful, complimentary Five-Star Review about The Outlaw Inn & Open Range Restaurant and Bar! We were very pleased to host the North American Falconry Association here in Rock Springs this month. Your group was certainly a pleasure to have on property and, I must say, we were very impressed the birds didn't complain one bit about our no-pet policy! :) Pleased you found The Inn "well maintained" with rooms furnished "with everything needed" and glad you found our Open Range Restaurant food "delicious." As owner and manager of a property that continually strives to keep all guests happy and comfortable - your words "totally satisfied and happy with our week long stay" allow me to know the Crew here is meeting their goals. We all hope to see you and the members of NAFA again next year on the High Desert of Wyoming. Until then............ Happy Trails to all. Best regards, Mark Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Wonderful Towels and Bedding but stay away from room 349. Very noisy till 10 pm and again at 6 am from the bars ventilation system we were told. Breakfast was not self serve and food quality was poor.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Elizabeth ~ Thank you for writing a note about your recent stay at The Outlaw. We are pleased to know you found our new towel sets "wonderful" along with the upgraded bedding. Both have been selected with the idea of ensuring our guests enjoy a comfortable night's sleep. We are, however, concerned you found your room noisy. I've asked our maintenance engineer to check into any noise in the area of your room coming from our newly remodeled Bar, which is one level lower on the other side of the building. We apologize for any inconvenience the noise may have caused you and your family. Please do stop in again next time you are traveling through the area as we'd like to ensure you have a 5-Star experience at The Outlaw. Until then....... Happy Trails to you and your family. Regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Traveling cross country and this was Great stop with excellent restraunt. Back has place for trucks and rvs. We were in RV and after 60 plus days we needed a real nice hot shower. Tv and good food. They fit the bill perfectly.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Wes ~ Thank you! for writing a 5-Star Review about The Outlaw Inn following your recent stay. My entire Crew here greatly appreciates all of your positive comments - "great stop, excellent restaurant, real nice hot shower, good food" and are glad you chose our full-service property after 60 days on the road. Our main goal here is to make our guests comfortable and happy and when we receive notes saying "they fit the bill perfectly" we certainly feel our mission is accomplished! Please do stop in again next time you're driving your RV through the Wide Open Spaces of Wyoming. Until then......... Safe Travels to you and yours as you make your way home to Clarksville. "Over-rated"

2
09/10/2018

Based on Trip Advisor reviews we booked the hotel. The first clue should have been booking an interior room. This is a former motel where they have enclosed the interior garden. To get to any of the interior room you must go up or down stairs, no elevator although there is a lift. The enclosed space is dismal and expansive. The railings in front of the lower level rooms only add to the shut in feeling. The room lighting is also poor. After a day of travel the last thing I want to do is lug my suitcase up or down stairs. The hotel had potential, but the overall atmosphere and feeling really detracted. For the price, newer options are available in town. Try another hotel.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Halle Grace ~ Thank you for taking time to write about your stay at The Outlaw Inn following your recent stay. We are, however, concerned you did not enjoy your time while visiting our Award Winning, Full-Service Property. Of course, we understand not all travelers appreciate the Mid-Century design of the building - with rooms, restaurant, bar and pool all under one roof. Wishing we could have somehow made your stay more pleasant as our main goal here is to offer comfort and happiness to all of our valued guests. Please do stop in again and give us another try; perhaps an exterior drive-up room - a favorite of many of our repeat guests - would be a positive experience for you. Hope your travels home were Safe and Enjoyable. Best regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Great place to stay!"

Traveling through Wyoming to Nevada. Clean exterior and interior. friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean linens, a variety of pillows on the bed. nice shower. Breakfast served fresh and hot at no additional charge.

Dear Travel Nurse ~ Thank you for taking time to write a note about your recent stay at The Outlaw Inn. We greatly appreciate each and every one of your compliments about our building, friendly staff, beds, linens, pillows and shower - all features we have worked hard to improve so our special guests are comfortable and happy throughout their stay at our full-service hotel. Pleased also your mentioning our "fresh and hot" made-to-order breakfast served in our on-site Open Range Restaurant - free of charge - to all hotel guests each morning from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Again, let me say, the entire staff appreciates your long list of compliments. Hope you'll be sure to stop in again next time you're in the area and travels home to Reno were safe and enjoyable. Best regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Nice but not for the disabled"

3
30/09/2018

This is an older hotel but it appears to be nicely maintained overall. We would not stay here again as it is totally not a mobility accessible hotel. Although they've made an effort to make it accessible in reality it isn't. There is no elevator just a lift that must be operated by staff taking away independence of moving around the hotel at free will for a disabled person. The accessible room is the furthest away from the front desk and lift, defeating its purpose, just to far to walk or roll a wheelchair. The room was too cramped with furniture and has very low ceilings making it a bit claustrophobic. The room appears clean but the carpets are filthy. The staff however are extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good. The value is fine. Overall not a bad hotel but It's just not accessible.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Denver Traveler ~ Thank you for writing a review following your stay at The Outlaw Inn. We appreciate your compliments regarding the maintenance of our full-service property, the "extremely helpful and friendly staff" and the "very good breakfast." However, we are concerned that you found the accessibility of the hotel difficult. We do understand your wanting to operate the lift independently, but, from the time of installation we knew curious children might be at risk without key operation by our Front Desk Staff - available 24/7. We do have five accessible rooms (completely remodeled in 2014) at various locations - all near the atrium leading to the Open Range Restaurant. I believe your's was the furthest from the Restaurant - a double queen, tucked in a quiet corner and featuring the original 8-foot high, beamed ceilings. I have reported your comment about the guest room carpet to our head of maintenance yesterday and he followed up with a thorough cleaning. As always, our main goal here at The Outlaw is to keep all our guests happy and comfortable throughout their stay. We do hope you'll plan to stop in again and suggest you might request one of two ADA rooms directly across from the Restaurant. Hope your travels home to Denver were safe and enjoyable. Best regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Not like on the pictures. Full size bed instead of queen"

2
18/09/2018

The room was not like the picture. I chose Best Western over the rest of the hotels in the area because the shower had a hose. False. Besides, I paid for a queen size bed and I got a full. When I asked the woman in the front desk, she told me it was a queen. I know the size of both. I am 63 inch tall (5' 3'') and a queen is 60 inch wide. Surprise when I lied down (width direction) and at least 8" were out of the bed. Obviously, it was a full size bed (54"). The door of my room didn't even have a number on it. Not the same color as the others. Ridiculous.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Mr. Sonini ~ Thank you for taking time to write a review following your stay at The Outlaw. We apologize for your room not being exactly like the photo (one of many) you saw on our website. As with all hotel websites - a variety of photographs of rooms and bathrooms are featured on the website. The photo of the shower head with hose was that of one of five ADA bathrooms (inside ADA rooms) on our property. The room where you stayed (newly remodeled in 2016) also has a photo featured on the website under the "Single Queen" heading. If you desire a shower with a hose-type shower head, please do ask for an ADA room next time you book a room with us. With regard to the size of your bed, The Outlaw rooms are furnished with only queen and king-size beds - a total of 155 to be exact - with all new mattresses as of December 2018. Following your review - our Front Desk Manager sent our Head of Maintenance to the room where you stayed to measure the bed. The measurements were: 60" by 80". The mattresses are so new and firm and, from the side seams, round up, which must have given you the impression the width ended at the top of the rounding up from the seam. We do hope the 80" length and the firmness allowed you to experience a good night's rest. We also apologize for the number missing from the door as it came up missing the week you were there. We're working on replacing it at present. Please do stop in again sometime soon and don't forget to request an ADA room with either a queen or king bed. We promise to take good care of you. Until then........ Happy and Safe Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Great manager"

The manager was very polite and helpful with my cancelation of a reservation. Hotel is clean with good restaurant, have stayed here several times and will stay again. Close to the horse tracks and easy to find.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Sammi ~ Thank you for taking time to write about The Outlaw Inn and your experience with regard to your reservation. Thanks also for mentioning that you've found our full-service property to be "clean with good restaurant" during past stays. We are the closest AAA 3-Diamond property (Featuring Hotel, Open Range Restaurant and newly remodeled Open Range Bar) to the Sweetwater County Fairgrounds where the Horse Races are held - among many other activities throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you next time you travel up from Vernal. Until then....... Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Great Stay"

26/08/2018

Best Western has really stepped up their game. It looks like they are in the middle of a property face lift on many of the properties. Great rooms, great service. Clean, comfortable, great value and great staff.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Jeff ~ Thank you for taking time out from travels to write a review about The Outlaw Inn. Our entire Staff appreciates your awarding our full-service property the coveted Five-Star Review from Trip Advisor. Thanks for noticing our renovations over the past 8 years - with our most recent being The Open Range Bar, which includes the addition of tap beer and a lovely patio area. Pleased also your calling our rooms, staff, value and service "great" as our main goal is to keep our guests happy and comfortable. Please do stop in again to enjoy both our hotel and Open Range Restaurant and Bar next time travels bring you from Lincoln, California to Wyoming. Until then........ Happy & Safe Trails. Mark D. 17/08/2018

we had to grab a hotel last minute and best western was there at our service. we came in late they even extended our check out time an hour later, even though we did not take an advantage, the gesture was very nice.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Frank ~ Thank you for writing to Trip Advisor to inform other travelers (and The Outlaw Team!) of your experience while staying at The Outlaw Inn. My entire Crew here greatly appreciates your awarding their efforts with a Five-Star Review! Glad we were able to accommodate you and your family at the "last minute" and, even more pleased to hear our Front Desk Staff understood your late arrival meant your family could benefit from a later check-out time. Our goal here at the Award Winning, full-service Outlaw Inn, Open Range Restaurant and the New Outlaw Inn Bar is to take good care of our guests. Please do stop in again next time travels bring you across the High Desert of Southwest Wyoming. Until then........ Safe Travels to you and yours. Happy Trails, Mark D. "Great traveling respite"

4
17/08/2018

After a long drive through Idaho and Wyoming, the Outlaw Inn was a perfect respite. The location right off the freeway was convenient and the staff was fast and friendly. We were in our room with our heads on the pillow within 20 minutes of turning off the car engine. Great night's sleep! And breakfast was hot and ready even before we were which was great for another day of driving.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Billie J ~ Thank you for writing to Trip Advisor to share your recent experience at the full-service Outlaw Inn and Open Range Restaurant. We appreciate your calling our Award-Winning property "a perfect respite" and our Staff "fast and friendly" ..... both among our goals here at The Outlaw. And we are absolutely pleased you and your family experienced a "Great night's sleep!" followed by the ever-popular fresh, made-to-order breakfast in The Open Range Restaurant. Hope your continued travels have been Safe and full of Adventure. Best regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Not bad"

4
16/08/2018

Nothing fancy but not bad. It could use some updating but the layout is very nice. The lady at the front desk was super busy but helped everyone out in a very timely manner. I would stay again if in Rock Springs.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Kelly from Alpine ~ Thank you for taking time to write a traveler's review following your stay at The Outlaw Inn. Appreciate your comments regarding the historical, mid-century design of the full-service property, which was built in 1965 and has undergone near-complete renovation of 60,000 square feet (rooms and public areas) over the past 10 years. Pleased also to know our Front Desk Crew assisted your family "in a very timely manner" as our goal here at The Outlaw Inn and Open Range Restaurant is to keep all our guests comfortable and well-rested. Especially happy to know you plan to "stay again" when travels bring you down to the Southwest Corner of Wyoming from your home in Alpine. Until then.... Happy and Safe Trails to you and your family. "Buds trip"

14/08/2018

I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions, mostly solo on my way home. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is attentive and the new lounge and downstairs restaurant are a real convenience. One thing for sure, at least in my opinion, the management at this hotel has a very low opinion of smokers. This is based on where you can smoke. It's extremely limited and in one area it seems they want to hide you from view of others. It's “smoking in a pen”.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Ron ~ Thank you for taking time to write a review of The Outlaw as a frequent guest. Glad you've found the rooms to be "comfortable" and our amazing Staff to be "attentive." Plus we appreciate your mentioning the convenience of our Award Winning Open Range Restaurant and our newly remodeled Open Range Bar. Your mentioning of our no-smoking policy throughout the property is appreciated and we would like to explain the design of the two Designated Smoking Areas. Located along the fenced area of the hotel, (both back and front) the 60 square-foot, semi-encouslosed areas are designed to protect smokers from the weather elements we experience here in Southwest Wyoming. Both areas feature chairs and ashtrays for the convenience of our valued guests. Please do let us know if you have future questions about the non-smoking policy as we'd like to make sure you enjoy a comfortable and happy stay next time you're a guest at The Outlaw. Until then..... may all your travels be Safe. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Great hotel!"

10/08/2018

Rooms were great and the best hotel breakfast I have seen, they give you cooked to order and so much food! It was great. Extra area next to bathroom gives you much more counter space than normal rooms and I loved the western decor of the room. Overall a great stay.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Amber ~ Thank you for taking time to write an awesome Five-Star Review of The Outlaw Inn following your recent stay. My hotel Crew is very pleased you found your "rooms great." And our on-site Open Range Restaurant Team is happy to know your comments about the fresh, made-to-order breakfast as being "the best hotel breakfast I have ever seen." Glad you liked the Western Decor throughout the hotel, dining room and our newly remodeled Open Range Bar. Please do become one of our repeat guests next time travels bring you back to the High Desert of Wyoming. Until then...... wishing you Safe and Happy Travels. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

We were driving from Las Vegas NV to North Dakota & made some detours due to weather. We stopped in the Best Western Outlaw Inn were we had the Extreme Pleasure of meeting Roe who was working front desk. She was AWESOME, she got us 2 rooms for the night and gave us a history lesson about the Inn & Rock Springs. The Rooms were Very clean & the bed was to die for. We would stay there again & highly recommend the Outlaw Inn. Breakfast is freshly made with several choices.

As part of our ongoing "renewal" of our Award Winning property - 155 new Sealy Posturpedic Mattresses were placed in our rooms last winter. "Not Quite Up to Our Expectations"

06/08/2018

This BW does not offer the usual breakfast buffet. They give you a voucher, on which you choose 3 items, to use in their in-house restaurant. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, but small and dated. The price paid was not a good value...way too high for what we got. Refrigerator in room was noisy.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear KMS from Arizona ~ Thank you for writing a review following your stay at The Outlaw Inn. We are pleased you found your room "clean and nicely decorated" but concerned you did not enjoy your complimentary, fresh, made-to-order breakfast from our on-site Open Range Restaurant. Naturally, we do respect your opinion as a valued guest and have noted your comments regarding a buffet breakfast - featured at a majority of Best Western properties through the United States. Additionally - we have alerted our Head of Maintenance to check on the refrigerator in the room you occupied during your stay. Concerning the room rate - June through September is our high rate season with rates dropping for late fall and winter months. We do hope you'll return to The Outlaw and allow the Outlaw Crew to demonstrate outstanding service to make your stay happy and comfortable. And we've just opened the New Outlaw Inn Bar to continue our ten-year program of complete renovation of our full-service Award Winning property. Until then...... Happy Trails to you and yours on return travels to Morenci. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Best place we've stayed in a long time."

24/07/2018

The Staff, across the board, were the friendliest and accommodating that we,ve seen. I wish I could remember the name of the young lady on the front desk the morning we checked out (7/20/2018). The reason being that the hot water pump for the entire motel had failed and she had to field numerous angry and cranky folks (me included). She did so with style, aplomb, patience, humor and grace. she was an indication of a well run and more importantly, well trained organization. Kudos the the owners (we met the First Lady the evening before).

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Dudley ~ Thank you for taking time to write a very complimentary Five-Star Review following your stay with us last week. My wife does remember speaking with you and your lovely wife on the patio at the "soft opening" of the new Open Range Bar.. My entire Crew is very appreciative of your saying they "were the friendliest and accommodating" seen in your travels. Our main goal here is to welcome our valued guests - from near and far - into a world of comfort and enjoyment. We do hope you'll stop in again next time travels bring you from South Carolina to the Wide Open Spaces of Big Wyoming. Until then.......... Happy Trails to both you and your wife. Mark D. Dear Cleveland Cooking from Ohio ~ Thank you for writing to let us know about your stay at The Outlaw Inn ........ Your title made my entire Crew all Smiles! Glad you found your fresh, made-to-order Breakfast in The Open Range Restaurant "delicious" with "great pancakes and biscuits and gravy"...... "yummy" - just what we like to hear from our valued guests here on the High Desert of Wyoming. And thanks also for noticing our Western touches throughout the full-service property - part of the renewal of the building over the past ten years. And, yes, there is lots of history here - some obvious and some a part of the "legend" of the place. Let me add our apologies for your not sleeping well ....... whatever the reason, we do hope you were able to catch up on your sleep. Please do come back and visit us again sometime soon. Our lights are on 24/7 for all travelers at Exit 104, just off 1-80 in Southwest Wyoming. Until then........ Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Comfortable hotel"

22/07/2018

This hotel is conveniently located just off the interstate with a large car park which made parking easy. Our room was large and comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were allocated a room overlooking the indoor swimming pool which we thought may be noisy - but it wasn't. We had a great night's sleep. One note of caution though - I would avoid the restaurant for evening meals. I'm sorry but the food was absolutely terrible. It really was the worst meal we had in our entire US trip. It was so bad that we couldn't eat it. The service was pretty bad as well - which was reflected in the tip I left. In fact, we were very reluctant to go down to breakfast the next morning BUT - the breakfast was brilliant - absolutely delicious. Well cooked and plenty of it.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Ardie from the UK ~ Thank you for taking time from international travels to write a complimentary (for the most part) review following your stay at The Outlaw Inn & Open Range Restaurant. Your assessment of the hotel: room large and comfortable, spotlessly clean, quiet location near pool, great night's sleep - are the words we like to hear from our valued guests. Additionally, we're glad you found your fresh, free, made-to-order breakfast in the Open Range Restaurant to be "brilliant - absolutely delicious!" Will let my Breakfast Crew know your compliments. However, as owner and manager of the full-service property, I am concerned about your dining experience the night you check in. My entire Dining Room Staff will be made aware of your review followed by plans for improvement. The "silver lining" in your displeasure with your meal is an opportunity for improvement - thank you for letting me know. Hope all of your travels in the West are safe and full of adventure. And please do stop in to The Outlaw next time you're driving through the Southwestern Corner of Wyoming. Until then........ Happy trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Great location right off the interstate. Our room was clean, and it was great that we could pull our truck right up to the door. Kevin checked us in and was incredibly kind and helpful, in fact all of the staff were excellent. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, and went far beyond the continental fare you see at other places. Overall great place to stop if you are passing through Rock Springs.

Older hotel but well kept. Super convenient right off interstate. Outside entrance looked like it was under construction maybe? Room was on the small side. But adequate for 4. Bathroom was obviously recently remodeled- gorgeous and handicapped accessible- even had a shower chair(awesome!). (Pictures below) Desk, 2 extra chairs, nice sized closet and small fridge. The breakfast only lasted til 9:00 which was hard to swing because we went to church, BUT how cool is it that they have sack breakfasts ready for pick- up after 3am!!!! Breakfast was good and plentiful. Friendly staff. I attached a picture of breakfast menu- nice options. Everything was clean. Decor was very Western and comfortable. Beds were comfy with adequate covers and pillows. You can adjust temperature in your room. I would stay again. I liked the quiet of the courtyard but it was lit all night so the shades didn't block it all out. They had a group of High School rodeo kids and man they were well behaved and polite ???? they have Pepsi products in the vendo-land ?? My only boo- hoo

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Christina ~ Thank you for taking time to write an wonderful, complimentary review of The Outlaw Inn following your recent stay ~ We certainly appreciate your Five-Star Award! As we like to say at The Outlaw ~ The beauty is in the details. Very happy to know you will stop back in to be our guest next time you travel to our corner of Wyoming. We think you will like our completely remodeled Saloon - renamed Open Range Bar & Grill - set open June 22, 2018. ( And you will be glad to know our entire property - vending machines, Dining Room + Bar & Grill will be changing over to Pepsi products!!!!) One more way for The Outlaw Crew to take good care of our valued customers! Looking forward to seeing you and yours sometime soon...... Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Unique layout was fun for the kids. Loved the overall theme of the hotel, and staff was super friendly. Woke up for breakfast after 3 hours of sleep, due to traveling, and it was worth it. I made a reservation with little cell service and the front desk was patient and friendly. The lady who checked us in was very understanding and quick to get us to our room with a 3 am arrival. Breakfast was delicious and quick and a full breakfast in the resteraunt.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Tiff ~ Thank you for writing a very complimentary Five-Star Review of The Outlaw Inn and Open Range Restaurant following your stay at our full-service hotel this past week. Glad your kids found the Mid-Century Design layout to be "fun" and you enjoyed the Western theme throughout the property. Thanks also for your comment about our "friendly" Staff as our goal here is to make sure each guest is comfortable and happy - especially when a family arrives at 3 a.m! Pleased you found the free, made-to-order, fresh breakfast in The Open Range to be "delicious and quick" as our restaurant is popular with locals and travelers alike. Hope you've arrived at your vacation destination safely and we look forward to seeing you all next time you pass through Southwest Wyoming. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

The hotel rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. Rooms are quiet. There is an indoor swimming pool which, is a blessing on any cold day in Wyoming. The staff is helpful and courteous. We had a very good breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

We made a last minute decision to stay here and it was a great place. The hotel staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean and the price was great. They had a large indoor pool which my son enjoyed. They had an excellent breakfast with large portions. I would recommend this to any family traveling through Rock Springs, WY.

"Unorthodox But Okay For The Night"

24/06/2018

Upon entering this hotel, an overwhelming smell of chlorine hits you, which we put down to an excessive use of bleach. After checking in, we carried our luggage up the stairs to the rooms as there is no lift (elevator). We are away for 4 weeks so we have several heavy bags, so no lift was not ideal. As you walk through the door from the reception into the hotel area, which appears to be an extremely large building, you see to the right a large spacious area, presumably for functions, and to the left, a swimming pool. To get to our room we had to walk through the centre of the hotel, past the swimming pool and through the 'saloon' which felt odd. The saloon, although we did not drink there, did not have any draft beers and just appeared to be a small area curtained off by the swimming pool. The rooms were a good size and were very clean. The beds were very comfortable as well. The only issue with the rooms was that they all faced into centre of the hotel meaning there was no natural light or outward facing windows, and everyone walking by could see directly into your room unless you kept the curtain constantly shut as the glass panes were floor to ceiling. The rooms at one end of the hotel are situtated by the air conditioning unit which functions for the whole hotel and makes and incredibly loud norise, so we had to ask this to be switched off. We went for dinner in the hotel restaurant and had an awful experience with terrible service and poor food. After complaining about this, the owner (possibly his son) was extremely kind and apologetic and removed the charge from our bill. We did not have breakfast here, but went to Walmart instead.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Emma from Nottingham ~ Thank you for writing a review of your recent stay at The Outlaw. Sorry to hear you missed our Lift - located adjacent to the lobby on the Atrium Landing. Glad you found your room "a good size and very clean" and the beds "very comfortable" - important to all our valued guests. The design of The Outlaw is know as Mid-Century here in the United States. Our enclosed atrium - quite large - features a swimming pool and other open areas. There are three levels of rooms with lift access to the lower-level area, which also features a Trip Advisor Award Winning restaurant - The Open Range where hotel guests are served a free, made-to-order breakfast each morning. (also serving lunch and dinner daily) We are sorry to hear of your missing the Lift and your experience in the restaurant. Do stop in again next time you visit Wyoming and we hope to offer you a pleasant experience. Until then...... Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Very nice in Rock Springs!"

24/06/2018

We arrived here on a rather spur-of-the-moment basis after a bit of a fiasco at another inn in Rock Springs which resulted in us having to cancel our room there. We're driving back to California after a stay in Oklahoma visiting my mom and were tired and hungry and ready to settle in for the night. I walked into the Outlaw Inn, was greeted with a friendly smile immediately, and was told there were rooms available for the night. We were given vouchers for a complimentary breakfast for each of us, with our choice of drinks and menu items. Score! I paid a reasonable price for a very nicely appointed room with two queen beds for myself and my two teenage children. The room was clean and well stocked, the bed was very comfortable, the Wi-Fi was fast, and the air conditioning cool. In the morning we headed down for our breakfast and were seated and served a delicious meal. The staff here are super friendly and accommodating. We would be pleased to stay here again if our travels take us back through Rock Springs. The Best Western Outlaw Inn earned this five-star rating.

This is such a beautiful Best Western. When checking in we were given a menu for breakfast the next morning. You could check one item from one section and 3 items from the other section.. Turn in the menu in the morning when going to breakfast and the server would bring what was ordered. The room was also beautifully appointed and very clean. This was such a pleasant stay at this place of business that I would highly recommend it

We stayed here for one night, on our way home from Nebraska. Great room and really cool hotel. I did not realize that it was where Butch Cassidy worked in a butcher shop. Lots of history around there, so wish we would of stayed another day to see what was out there. Anyway, you wont be disappointed, great rooms, comfortable beds, indoor pool that looked nice, and oh my free breakfast was the BEST. They get your order and bring it to you. Nice they dont have the lines waiting to get your food. Worth the stay. Oh by the way the girl at the front desk had just started and she was wonderful. Sorry I forgot her name.

Dear Just Little Ole Me ~ Thank you for writing to let us know about you stay at The Outlaw Inn. We're honored you've given our full-service property a Five-Star Rating! It started at the front desk, I was greeting by two young ladies. They both were friendly, accommodating, cheerful and professional. The rooms were very clean and I loved the decor!! The continental breakfast they offer was different to me as you pick what you want and then they make it fresh! A sinful cinnamon roll topped my visit. Will stay here again!

"It took several showers to clean this place off of me."

28/05/2018

Where to start, the good? Ok, there really isn't much good to this 'hotel' besides the location to the interstate. The staff was friendly but not very helpful. We had an interior second story king room. The room smelled bad. Not only did it smell of stale cigarettes but it also smelled old and musty and like your old aunt Linda's house who doesn't know how to clean. The carpet felt 100 years old. the fabric headboard was just downright gross. The bathroom resembled a truck stop but not as spacious. The sheets didn't feel clean and the remote for the tv had old food on it. If you can avoid this place, do it. there are other places in Rock Springs that are more deserving of your money. We definitely did not get what we paid for, seriously, this place is gross.

anselmi77, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear McClane Nelson ~ While we greatly appreciate our valued customers taking time to write reviews of time spent with us at The Outlaw Inn & Open Range Restaurant, this one has left us stumped! Upon your complaint to our front desk personnel, our Assistant Manager immediately inspected the room and was unable to detect a smoke odor. (Our property is smoke free with two designated smoking areas near the fence surrounding the property.) We do wish you would have enjoyed our full-service property during your stay and invite you to call our Assistant Manager Nick at 307-362-6623 to discuss further your experience. Our goal here at The Outlaw is for each and every customer to leave the property with a Five-Star Stay. We do hope your return trip to Salt Lake City was enjoyable and your summer is full of adventure. Best regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

This is hotel is in the process of being renovated, it was very clean, nice large bed, the staff at check in were very friendly, but be warned the walls are very thin you can hear the tv next door as if it's in your room. Outside our room door was a big open conference space, whilst in bed we could hear the discussions around the table. On a plus point you can walk to restaurants very easily. The hotel was good as it was an ideal resting point on our trip but because of the lack of noise insulation I won't be staying here again.

Dear Woods from Cardiff, UK ~ Thank you for taking time to write about your recent stay at The Outlaw Inn. While you were staying with us we were installing new carpet in our 67 of inside rooms - glad you noticed! We do apologize for your experience of hearing sound from the TV in the room adjacent to yours. Might we suggest: Next time, please do contact our front desk team - they will certainly notify your neighbor and quickly remedy the problem. Pleased you found our Open Range Restaurant easily accessible by being under the same roof as the hotel. (Thank you, mid-century design :) We hope you will stop in again next time travels bring you down I-80 or WyoH-191 so that we can offer you a new experience to remember. Until then.......... 18/05/2018

It was late by the time we reached Rock Springs, and we stopped by to check rates. We had a better rate online which the woman at the front desk honored instead of making us get it online. She was so nice and accommodating. I cannot remember her name as I am terrible with names, but she was from Rugby, ND. Gave us a great room, and helped us find a few snacks and juice before bed. Could not have been nicer. The rooms were really nice. Great beds, towels, everything we needed. Had a great night's sleep and ran to breakfast before it closed. The one bad thing we experienced here...the woman doing the breakfast was very rude and could not have looked more sullen and hateful. We made it just before 10 and were watching the tv. When it turned 10, she literally turned off the tv as we were watching it. Hard to believe places hire people like this to work around customers. Otherwise, a great place to stay, very nice grounds. Would come back anytime.

"Wonderfully comfortable beds, quiet rooms!"

12/05/2018

We didn't have a reservation, just stopped in. The room was very clean and just what we needed after a long day of driving! The bed was super comfortable and the shower head was the best!!! Loved having a restaurant right in the motel, but it was only ok. The food was good but the service, while everyone was very friendly, was very slow. We were about ready to leave and not do dinner because it took so long for someone to even acknowledge that we had been seated! We were the second ones in for breakfast and the wait staff took almost 5 minutes to get to us! That's a long time just sitting waiting for coffee/water! We would definitely stay there again, but would probably avoid the restaurant!

"Gluten Free dessert, but no soy/almond milk to go with it."

The stay was good. The one wall of all the hotel rooms is all windows or glass floor to ceiling with curtains which I found a bit odd and kinda uncomfortable. The breakfast is great but service was not, you get a free breakfast card for the restaurant and I am assuming it indicates to the server probably little to no tip with the complamentary breakfast customers.(We still tipped). We enjoyed our stay.

"Resort oasis on the Interstate"

01/05/2018

Wow - it looks like a motel just off the interstate - but the lobby has a clean, elegant western feel of a resort hotel. The oversized expensive heavy leather furniture was a real classy touch and pleasant surprise. The staff at the counter was professional, courtious and helpful I was exhausted and just needed a place to sleep - but found a super clean room and well appointed oasis instead.

30/04/2018

My room was comfortable, quiet and clean. I don't really enjoy the open area hotels as sometimes the common space is occupied by noisy guests but my stay was uninterrupted and very quiet. Loved the big spa bath. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

at every angle the employee rating is over the top - the open central area and quiet interior were a welcome change from the common - the pool and the restaurant, are quite exceptional - to find a place to stay of this character and exceptional quality is indeed remarkable - even by Best Western standards.

The Outlaw Inn in Rock Springs, Wyoming was a highlight of our cross country trip. We stayed at many Best Westerns, but the Outlaw Inn with it's HUGE indoor pool atrium and on-site restaurant was one of the best, if not the best night's stay we experienced. The breakfast was fantastic.

20/04/2018

The reviews for the restaurant were very good and all recommended the "grilled carrot cake". We had to try it. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and I had the Steak Fajita Salad. Waitress was very friendly and efficient. We were seated promptly and our order taken. Food was out within 15 minutes. Dishes weren't really anything special but OH, THE CARROT CAKE!!! It was to die for. They melt butter on the grill, cut the cake and grill it until just slightly crispy...in the butter. YUM!!! We live in Washington State but we'd be willing to go back just for the cake.

I was in about a week ago and ordered the prime rib dinner it was delicious cooked perfectly. My server Charity was amazing she cow towed to my every need. The young lady that sat me was upbeat and cute as a button I believe her name was Emma? The music was sublime, in fact I honestly ended up staying longer because of it. I watched the servers serve the busser bus and cute button host it seemed to be a nice functional staff. I didn't feel rushed or made to feel bad for just hanging out. It was great. I'll actually be back within the week. I hope to have miss charity as my server again and of course hope to see my little upbeat cute button too!

Outlaw restaurant. Visited on 2-17-18 7pm Great food amazing steaks awasome manager steaks where cooked perfect our server was on point with every thing The only complaint I have is that the salad that comes with the steak dinner for 26.99 Dose not come with croutons it was a extra $1.00 for a small dish of them and no white gravy for the mash potatoes other then that amazing food and service

We are, however, concerned to hear the Atrium heat fan was a bit loud for you and promise to bring the noise level issue to the attention of our Maintenance Crew. We do hope you will stop in again to The Outlaw & Open Range Restaurant next time you're traveling across the wide open spaces of Wyoming. Until then......... Happy Trails to you and yours. Best Regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

We met only the best people at this Best Western. The staff was welcoming and friendly. We appreciate a warm welcome as we register for the night and a warm, friendly greeting when we have breakfast. Our night was complete and the next day we were sent off with friendly breakfast staff. The room was neat and clean. The remote, yea!, was disinfected and placed in a little pouch. We stay in Best Western Inns when ever we travel because the the predictable clean rooms, the welcoming staff, and the breakfast.

This was an extremely well kept motel, everything was easily found, the food was great, and it was very relaxing. The breakfast was not a buffet, you ordered 3 main items, drink and coffee, each time we ordered the meal was perfectly prepared even when I requested crisp bacon.

"Nice place to stay"

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast, included with the room, is in the dining room and made fresh, just as if you were ordering. Once the waitress takes your marked sheet, it is only minutes before you have a nice hot breakfast in front of you.

Remodeled older building with unusual floor plan. Convenient ground floor parking in the back with direct outside access. Hot meal served for breakfast at restaurant. Somewhat limited evening menu. Quick access to interstate for business.

This hotel has been updated since the last time I stayed here. Beds are comfortable, appears fresh paint, carpet, and bathroom has been uodated. I will definetly stay here again. Pleasant experience overall

I really enjoyed my stay at the Outlaw Inn. The staff is always very warm, friendly, courteous and professional. My only regret is that I did not have enough time to take advantage of the swimming pool.

"Brief stay but would go again"

03/12/2017

I stopped here on my way across the country. It was a very brief stay, from 8:30 PM - 5:00 AM the next morning. Overall the visit was satisfactory for what I took advantage of. For an older hotel it looks well taken care of and has appropriate decor for the area. The bed was comfortable which was very nice after 15 hours of driving that day. The shower had lots of water pressure, probably the best of any hotel I've been at in a long time. For guests that leave before the breakfast is available they have a breakfast bag with some fruit, a muffin, water bottle, and a few other small items. This is really nice and not something you get everywhere. I would stay here again if the opportunity came, the location is perfect for travelers and the amenities (restaurant, lounge, pool, etc) make it a great spot.

Dear Jason ~ Thank you for taking time to write a note about your recent stay at The Outlaw. We are very happy to know your stay was comfortable (Brand new Sealy Posturpedic mattresses ~ all 155 beds!) - especially after your 15 hour travel day. Water pressure and morning breakfast bag are important amenities for most of our guests and we're glad you liked and mentioned. Hope you also took advantage of the hot coffee in the lobby. Next time when passing through you might want to linger a bit to enjoy our free breakfast - served up fresh by our Open Range Restaurant Team - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily. Until then ~ Wishing you Safe Travels and Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Very CLEAN and comfortable hotel with pleasant staff. Open Range Restaurant on-site is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and prices are moderate Have stayed twice here and will stay again as travel affords.

The rooms have new mattresses and it's very quiet overall this is the best sleep I've received in the Rock Springs area I would definitely recommend this Motel to other people I spend a lot of my time staying in the rock springs area for business reasons and its always nice to know I have the outlaw as a choice .

Needed a p[lace close to the freeway on a bazai trip in Rock Springs. Chose the Best Western because I wanted something a step above Motel 6 and got it. Paid a bit more but worth the additional cost. Room was comfy and clean. Breakfast was good and satisfying

"Excellent"

Had a fabulous stay! The hotel has a nice home feel. There is a bar and Restaurant. Great dinner at the restaurant and the free breakfast was sit down and served by a waitress! Best BW breakfast I have had.

"Strategically located, high in quality"

27/11/2017

Excellent location with easy off and on access to the freeway, yet very quiet. Super friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast with sit down service and waitstaff. Everyone on premises was professionally dressed. Excellent onsite restaurant. We have stayed here before and we love this hotel.

We have stayed at many BW hotels. Being Rock Springs, WY I was a little worried. No worries here. This is one of the nicest BW I have stayed at, I have over 100 nights in BW hotels. Fantastic, clean and friendly. Really like a resort feel.

"Outstanding Service with True Comfort and Western Flavor"

10/11/2017

I stayed at the Outlaw Inn October 16-20 as part of a rather unusual meeting/convention of hunters...we hunt with eagles, hawks and falcons. Dozens of us, along with our birds and a few dogs, invaded this wonderful hotel for over a week. We had a buffet dinner for over 75 people one evening, as well as an auction set up with a cash bar. We also used their meeting room for guest speakers during one morning and several evenings. The entire hotel staff, from the owners down to the housekeeping staff, worked incredibly hard to support all of us and provide us with everything we needed for an enjoyable week. The food in the restaurant was very good as well. The breakfast is included, but it's not a typical breakfast bar where everything is in heaters, or mini-fridges and you serve yourself; these breakfasts were cooked to order based on an order form that you provided your server each morning. Our crew would descend onto the restaurant en masse, around 30-40 of us at a time, and the servers worked and ran their behinds off, always in a cheerful fashion, to get us our breakfasts quickly so we could get out into the field and hunting. I read another review which stated that there was no microwave in the room which was NOT the case when I was there. I had a fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker, and a great flat screen TV. It is clear that this is an older building, with an interesting 1960s octagonal design, but they've renovated it nicely, added era-appropriate and current upgrades, and I found it to be a perfect blend of nostalgic Western and modern decor. They even have a small herb garden in elevated planters for restaurant use on the south-facing side of the building! The owners are second generation, with deep Wyoming roots. If you find yourself in this part of the world, treat yourself to a stay here, and don't just stay at another cookie-cutter chain establishment. I can't wait to go back again!

"Great friendly service"

08/11/2017

We had a quick stay at this hotel and the rooms were good and the service was excellent. My kids swam in the pool. The pool area was a little funky but good. It's a little old school and quirky and has lots of character. Just what we needed. We would stay there again.

"Pricey & unsafe"

3
05/11/2017

The hotel is noteably an older building that could still use some work. While our room was clean we could never get the temp below 78 degrees. For the price we were also surprised that there wasn't a microwave in the room and their security lock on room doors are chain locks. Our comfort was additionally impeded by the fact that the indoor pool was open with no security fence around it to keep children from falling in and drowning. Furthermore, in the morning the maids vacuuming above us sounded like they were doing construction it was so loud. Additionally, there were stacks of new mattresses in the common/pool area that we're not A great site nor would I consider where they were stored safe for guests. A decent hotel but not worth the cost when there are newer, better conditioned, and safer options in the city.

"The BEST!"

5
24/10/2017

We had a weeklong series of events, speakers, banquets, panel discussions, silent auction and more. Our group included more than 80 guests and local attendees. The folks at the Outlaw Inn were wonderful, helpful from the smallest detail and always ready to work with us and our guests! They were always helpful and gave great advice during planning and then carried out every activity to perfection. I am sure every one who attended would give the Outlaw Inn a perfect score! The western decor was not over the top but was very interesting and well executed.Rock Springs is a small town and has a small airport, I do not know if any transportation to and from the airport is included. A full set of breakfast choices comes with the room.

"Great hotel!"

5
24/10/2017

Super clean, comfortable, great staff, good food. We honestly didn't expect much in Rock Springs Wyoming but this place really impressed us. If you are doing an I-80 trek across Wyoming, make this your overnight stop!

"Thanks Very Much!"

5
23/10/2017

Our group of falconers could not thank the hotel staff enough for their professional and courteous service during our week-long stay in Rock Springs, WY. The rooms were nice and clean, the other hotel facilities were great, and the staff was exceptional!

"Rock Springs Stay"

3
23/10/2017

The staff are great. It is an older hotel so some items in guest rooms are dated. Advise staying on above ground floors. Lower level rooms are dark. Location is not the best for Rock Springs but there is a restaurant and bar in hotel and there is a convenience store and a few eating options close by.

"Excellent stay"

5
16/10/2017

What a pleasant surprise. This is one of the best Best Western Plus that we have stayed in. Front desk staff where friendly and fun to interact with,, the rooms were a nice size and well decorated. Bed was comfy, had better than usual bathroom type amenities. Had a nice fitness area...clean and nicely equipped.. The complimentary breakfast was good. Would stay here again if need be.

"Dining and rooms"

5
15/10/2017

It was great as a single person to be able to eat dinner in the bar rather then the restaurant. Food was very good and healthy portions. Rooms were just the right size and comfortable for a single person overnight.

"Great place to stay"

5
13/10/2017

This facility is conveniently located very close to the interstate and yet close to many restaurants and gas stations. We have stayed here before and have had great experiences so when we are in the area we stay here. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. They have an indoor pool that is very nice. The breakfast is served in the restaurant of the facility from a menu that you get to pick items rather than your typical motel where you serve yourself. The food is very good and the wait staff are pleasant and very helpful. We would highly recommend this facility if you are in the area.

"Interesting place!"

4
12/10/2017

We had one night here and packed a lot in including a swim in the empty pool, lucky me again, and two power cuts! It's not set in the most salubrious area and the interior is quite odd as all the rooms seem to face out to the pool or an empty area, there's no natural light but an opaque canopy that the rain really pounds down on. Luckily I had brought a torch which came in handy during the power cut (a lightning strike caused it). The restaurant was fine and had some decent beer and we also sat in the bar where you get free drinks from 4 until 7. The staff were really good and helpful and the outlaw theme is really good and gives it a USP.

"A reputation well-earned"

11/10/2017

My husband and I visit Rock Springs several times a year for work (playing music at a local community center) and our employers are always kind enough to arrange lodging for us. This time around, they placed us at the Best Western Outlaw Inn, saying it was "the nicest hotel in Rock Springs." After staying at this property, and having first-hand experience with other properties in town, we agreed! We called several days prior to our arrival to request a ground floor room since we had to offload a lot of equipment. Our request was granted, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. We were pleased to see that this was an older motor lodge style property and that we could park directly in front of our room instead of having to trudge down a hallway to our vehicle. We had a single-queen room that had a comfortable bed, microwave/mini-fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. It also had some clever touches that we took note of, one being a little alcove next to the bathroom vanity with ample room for suitcases, hanging clothing up, etc. We also liked the writing desk that had a smaller table underneath on casters that you could place anywhere you liked for convenience. The parking spots were covered by a slanted canopy that was tall enough to accommodate our truck and its glazer's racks (long story). Architecturally, this place didn't look like any other Best Western properties I've stayed at, but again, it bore indicators that it had been built decades before being acquired by the chain. Room rates include complimentary breakfast, which, to our pleasant surprise wasn't the typical continental (read: carb-fest) offering, but a nice selection of both hot and cold items that you pre-ordered via an individual menu slip and were then cooked to order. Some of the hot options available included scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage links, and bacon. Beverage selections included apple, orange and cranberry juice, 2% and skin milk, coffee and tea. Other posters have found this arrangement inconvenient, but we didn't mind it at all. Since our room was comped by our employer, I'm not sure how its rates stack up with comparable properties, but we would happily stay at this property again should the opportunity arise.

"Funky architecture"

4
11/10/2017

I felt like i was in a cave the whole time - rooms and restaurant open to a cavernous indoor space with pool and room to play ball. There are skylights in the high roof but never seems like daytime. It would be nice in winter, but in summer it was dark and depressing. Good breakfast included. Comfortable room.

"fun place to stay for the night"

5
10/10/2017

The Outlaw Inn was welcoming and clean..we had dinner in the restaurant and the food was good, hot and prompt..if you have time to read the placemat you will be surprised..who knew how strange and scary were the outlaws in the past...using human flesh to make a pair of shoes..yuck The room was clean , quiet and spacious..they had a pool that looked very welcoming but we were too tired They have a nice system where you fill out a form indicating your breakfast choices..which you hand in when you arrive at the restaurant..very effective

"Needs soundproofing"

3
08/10/2017

I'd give this motel a higher rating if they soundproofed between the rooms. I heard the person in the adjacent room coughing and gagging all night long. I almost called to see if they needed a doctor. That being said, the room was fine -- clean and comfortable in a utilitarian way. The food at the included breakfast is served at the table, which I like. The staff were all efficient and helpful.

"Excellent stay"

5
04/10/2017

Would stay again, next trip thru this area...great bed, good food....clean room! Well maintained hotel. Staff was very accommodating. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Good food, but very busy...our waitress had problems with multi tasking...but overall very nice!

"Easy access"

4
01/10/2017

It was easy access off the Interstate. I asked for a first floor room which I received; however, there were stairs leading down to our room. We had a handicapped room which w had not requested. The shower was great but the shower curtain let a lot of water on the floor. Breakfast was made to order; however, the choices were very limited.

"Best Western Rock Springs WY"

3
30/09/2017

The hotel was great. I however did not like that you were given a paper to mark your breakfast items down and then present it at the restaurant. U were only allowed certain things and it was very time consuming. I can get my own food and how much of what I want on my own.

"Nice Hotel"

5
26/09/2017

Second time we have stayed at this hotel. Nice clean room. Very nice complimentary breakfast in the morning. Easy access to interstate. Stayed on a Sunday night. It was very quiet. Staff at front desk were helpful.

"Staying in Cowboy Style"

5
25/09/2017

It was our first time to stay at the Best Western Outlaw Inn in Rock Springs. This hotel is about celebrating western cowboy style. Great effort has been made in the past to create an atmosphere of the old west. It had been family owned for a very long time and is reminiscent of hotels built in a more golden era of travel hotels. The Dunmar Inn in Evanston and this Outlaw Inn in Rock Springs share many similarities, including serving breakfast in similar ways – but they are not owned by the same families. Both should be Best Western Pluses but are somehow only Best Westerns from the customer's point of view. I which that more Best Westerns could be like these. The beds were much more comfortable than usual. Everything is in order and clean. We ordered items off of a sheet of paper which we made check marks on. This is a made to order breakfast, restaurant style. Tipping the waitress is welcomed. Being a restaurant, they have a regular breakfast menu but our waitress did not offer it to us. I was told that not many people order off the menu, but more people would order if it was offered and make a few suggestions of the manager's favorites. Just a suggestion. But having a restaurant style breakfast really add value for the price paid and really influenced whether we stayed there – no matter what price.

"Traveling Thru"

4
24/09/2017

The Best Western Outlaw was a very clean and relaxing place to rest up from a long trip. When traveling thru the area in the future I will definitely make it a point to stay there again. The staff was very knowledgeable and eager to help in any way necessary to ensure my stay was excellent. I could tell they took pride in their job. The room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.

"Full service hotel"

5
24/09/2017

This hotel has it all. This is one of the most complete hotels we have stayed in. Very nice rooms, excellent restrarent and great staff. Stay here and you will no be disappointed. We will be back here again.

"Exactly What We Wanted"

4
23/09/2017

We normally don't like exterior entrances, but this hotel did it well. We loved the pet friendly grassy area, and our dog did too! The room was super clean and had all the basic amenities needed. But, the best part was the complimentary breakfast! If you want bagels and DIY waffles, then do not stay here. You are offered a REAL sit down breakfast with a real live waiter/waitress! The food is REAL food! It was cooked to order and really tasty! I highly recommend this establishment.

"As Expected"

5
20/09/2017

Quality experience with appropriate facilities and friendly staff. Food quality was particularly good for a chain hotel. Breakfast was well prepared and cooked to order and served. Would return if had the need and was in the area. .

"A hotel I can recommend."

4
19/09/2017

Well appointed hotel in SW Wyoming with plenty of close parking. Looks like a good place for business or family meetings. Older style but well maintained and works well for this hotel, however, could be more difficult for handicapped, but certainly doable.

"Great stay"

5
18/09/2017

Comfortable clean hotel, friendly staff, unique layout (pool in the middle of interior "courtyard") with mid-western decor. I definitely recommend this hotel. We had a great nights sleep and the table service free breakfast made the meal more enjoyable.

"Cute Hotel, but poor Restaurant Food"

4
16/09/2017

Enjoyed the courtesy and help of the Hotel staff. The room mattress and pillows were clean and very comfortable, but the room smelled of cigar smoke (even though the hotel had signs prohibiting smoking all over) Breakfast was very very good, but dinner in the restaurant was awful. We sent our dinners back (2 pork cutlets and 'trout') but they were returned just as bad. Staff was kind.

"Inconveniently designed"

3
15/09/2017

The hotel had a delightful theme of outlaws and the west in both our room and in the common areas. Hotel clean. Bedding was very comfortable but the inroom AC unit made an annoying hum all night. Microwave and frig in room and indoor pool. There's both a restaurant and bar. Bar was quiet. For breakfast each person has a choice of drink (coffee and tea free) and 3 breakfast items to choose from that you mark on a green sheet. The food and service were great at restaurant, but I prefer the Great Western Plus hotels with their buffet breakfast. My main compliant with this restaurant is the design. I noticed there were rooms with outside entrances that would have worked so much better for me but we weren't given a choice. The inside rooms are scattered on different levels with stairs connecting everything. No elevators and no luggage carts. So we, with me and my bad knee, had to lug two large and heavy suitcases and two large heavy totes up stairs to our room. We did have a hotel employee who helped us. This made the point clear that with advance reservations and not picking a Great Western Plus, you're getting a pig in a poke.

"Nice Room in an Older Hotel"

3
14/09/2017

This is an older "motel style" that previously had the outside room entrances. You can tell they have enclosed it but have still left the windows by the doors with the curtains that never seem to close. Hotel would be much better if they could somehow remodel the rooms to make the windows on the outside walls instead of by the doors. My husband said the breakfast was above average. They give you a paper that you fill out and take to the hotel restaurant. You have very limited menu options. I prefer the breakfast buffet, so I guess breakfast is a mixed review. The check-in people were very nice and helpful. But when I checked out one of the clerks was on the phone talking loudly and the clerk that helped me couldn't hear me...or else didn't want to hear me. There was a very strong bleach or detergent smell at checkout and she acted like she didn't smell it. I am very glad I didn't have to pay for this room as I used my points to get a free room. The going rates seemed very high, especially for the quality of the hotel. But I have noticed that in several towns in Wyoming the rooms are quite a bit more than elsewhere.

"Vacation Travel"

5
12/09/2017

We had a great time in the lounge bar , so much so that we never went to the hotel Restaurant, which which AAA highly recommended and gave a great review to. This was our second night at the outlaw. We spent the whole time at the lounge bar

"Great place to stay!"

5
10/09/2017

We enjoyed our stay in Rock Springs, and would stay here again. Nice pool, quiet rooms, and breakfast made to order in the restaurant included with the room price. The staff was friendly and parking was ample with easy access to the building. Situated with easy access to the highway and downtown.

"Outlaw Inn"

4
10/09/2017

Nice older motel. Was very clean and well kept. Had some old west feel for a 70s motel that was fun to see. Room was clean and everything worked. AC fan was a little noisy but I sleep better in motels with fan noise. Would stay again.

"Room 351 a big winner"

4
09/09/2017

We were lucky to get an end, inside Superior King room. The layout of the Hotel is interesting so we specified that we wanted a quiet location. Our room was large, quiet and decorated with a Western motif. This included furniture made from old wood fencing. The bed and linens were great. Room dark and cool. Slept right through their breakfast. Front desk provided us with a Togo breakfast. When we pass through again- would definitely revisit.

"Vacation"

4
06/09/2017

This was a lovely place to wind down our vacation. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and fitness center. The way this BW prepared and served their breakfast has been the best so far. Very efficient. Thank you

"Stay"

05/09/2017

My wife and I spent one night here and we were very pleased with the comfort and quietness of our exterior room with parking right outside the door. When I saw the breakfast menu limited to a certain quantity I thought great this is going to be a joke. To my delight we were seated in the restaurant and served a magnificent breakfast that was not generic in any way. This breakfast experience was the best we've ever had in our over thirty years of travel!!

"roadtrip"

5
05/09/2017

Our car broke down in Rock Springs on our way to Jackson Hole and we stayed here. The staff was helpful and accommodating! The bar and restaurant provided great drinks and food! Laura, our bartender, provided us with great conversation and stories and helped us forget our car issues! They also have a free breakfast in the morning! Not buffet, but sit down in the restaurant! Thanks to all!!!

"Very unique western atmosphere"

5
03/09/2017

The family loved the unique style of this hotel. Beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly. Only complaint was that there wasn't a microwave in the room. The staff let me use the one in their lounge though so problem solved.

"Great place to stay"

5
02/09/2017

This hotel has a saloon and a restaurant. The complementary breakfast is prepared by the restaurant. It was a great experience. All the rooms open toward the center to a huge roof covered area. The pool is located there also as well as a conference, meeting room or relaxing area. Nicely constructed and thought out.

"A Wonderful Place to Stay"

5
31/08/2017

What a great experience! From the overall interesting and entertaining atmosphere, to the peaceful pool...to the EXCELLENT service we received from every member of the staff....to the comfortable bed, and quiet room....to the delicious complimentary breakfast where we were not only seated, but also served (and given numerous breakfast item choices) this was one of the BEST hotel stays we have ever enjoyed.

"A Gem of Wild West Americana!"

5
29/08/2017

We hadn't intended to stay in Rock Springs, but I'm so glad that we did and that we found this hotel. This is a gem of Wild West Americana - a classic hotel/motel lovingly decorated in a western theme. The room was on the small side, but with a very comfortable king bed. It was clean and quiet and a great night's sleep. The restaurant breakfast was fantastic - great food, decent prices, and really lovely service. The hotel has an indoor pool that I regret we didn't have time to use. Overall, I'm glad we stayed here, and I'm dreaming up a reason to go back to Rock Springs just so we can stay there again!

"job well done"

5
25/08/2017

From the check-in staff to the restaurant staff we were extremely pleased. Our room was incredibly clean and comfortable. Absolutely will stay again and it is easy to get to. Well done Rock Springs, WY Best Western.

"Cool Name but that's where it ends"

3
24/08/2017

The staff that is customer facing are professional and accommodating. They should take the time to make sure the rooms are clean. The breakfast was decent and the wait staff were friendly. I recommend to stay at the Holiday Inn Express down the road.

"The Outlaw in "eclipsed " my expectations !"

5
23/08/2017

We got last minute reservations the night before the 2017 eclipse. Although it was very busy the staff was calm and helpful. We stayed at 4 hotels during the week and this was the nicest . It's right off the freeway.

"Great Place! Highly recommend if you're traveling through Wyoming!"

5
22/08/2017

Very nice rooms. Waterfall showers were great! Liked that you could park your vehicle directly in front of your room. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant was nice. Highly recommend if you are traveling through Wyoming!

"Somewhat Disappointed"

4
21/08/2017

Overall the staff were very cooperative. I was very tired when I reached the motel, I noticed that the sheets on the bed had not been changed. Too tired to complain, I simply slept on top of the covers with my clothes on. Got up the next morning at 6am and continued on my way to South Dakota.

"nice hotel"

4
17/08/2017

a little pricey for Wyoming but a very pleasant night. Hotel nice and safe. Left all my son's belongings for college in back of truck without any issues.Nice interior with pleasant staff, would def stay here again.

"Convenient from highway"

3
16/08/2017

Passing through area, quick registration by pleasant and professional staff. Room off of pool area, however no issues with noise. Complimentary breakfast served in restaurant after filling out requests. Quick and efficient wait staff.

"Average in Every Way"

3
15/08/2017

This hotel has become dated. It is old and looks it. Quality of service was average and the accommodations were average at best. Not worth the price I paid. Complimentary breakfast did offer made to order omelettes but everything else was below par. I will book elsewhere next time.

"Will not stay again"

2
15/08/2017

Free breakfast was not good; hotel needs remodel, updating and repair. Beds are uncomfortable and make noise whenever you move; towels and shower carpet are old but appear clean; room service deliverer was absolutely rude. I bought a mug with the outlaw logo on it and they gave me an old one from the restaurant, so I had to return it.

"Well planned venue"

5
14/08/2017

Nice hotel, easy to find with all hotel doors within the complex around an atrium. No lift available for cases to first floor but it was only up 8 steps. Fridge and microwave helpful. Food in restaurant very good with plenty of choice and also a good range at breakfast.

"vacation"

5
10/08/2017

while this was a older motel it was well taken care of and we like that it had a onsite restaurant so we didnt have to leave the motel after we checked in and the food and service was good plus the motel staff was very nice and helpfujl

"Nice place"

5
09/08/2017

This is an older facility, built in the 1960's, but is not neglected in any way. The room was clean and modern, the whole building is in excellent shape and is well maintained. Staff was some of the best I've encountered being welcoming and helpful and the included hot cooked to order breakfast was the icing on the cake.

"Clean, Friendly, Convenient Hotel!"

Was looking for a conveniently located hotel in Rock Springs that was clean and quiet and I found it. The staff was friendly, the hotel was very centrally located, and comfortable. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We were traveling home from Sturgis SD your best western is vary nice hotel, only with one flaw you need to have the out side rooms with two queens. We ride motorcycle and like them close to room and I didn't like being inside rm 114. Can you put some double queens in your out side rooms.

"very nice hotel!"

07/08/2017

We made a last minute decision to stay overnight after our day in Rock Springs and found this place right off route 80. Looks small from the road but is really quite large inside and very nice. A regular double Queen room was spacious enough to fit a power wheelchair. Note that the bathroom in a non-ADA room there was not very accessible, as to get to the toilet and shower one must turn a corner and go into a smaller bathing and toilet room; sink was placed just off the main bedroom part but behind a bit of wall so not accessible to person in a chair. All the rooms that open to parking lot are single queens; double queens and more are accessed from inside the building. It was tedious to have to summon a front desk or restaurant worker to have them operate the lift for the person in our party in a power wheel chair every time we wanted to come in or out but someone was always available and immediately helped us. Great beds, pillows, linens. Nicely furnished and clean room. Breakfast was included in room rate and we enjoyed it - a nice variety of offerings!

People with disabilities should be treated with the understanding than you might be in they shoes one day. I travel with my mother and she doesn't get around well, so I really appreciate businesses that are respectful of older, slower people.

"Truck broke down"

03/08/2017

I'm an over the road truck driver. My truck broke down and my company put me up at this hotel. Hands down this is the best, Best Western I have ever stayed in. I have never experienced a more friendly staff. From the front desk to the restaurant. Food at the restaurant was amazing, Black Angus New York strip was to die for. The Saloon was dark and cozy and the bartender was awesome. Rooms are very clean. Bathrooms very clean. Beds were very comfortable. I Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful, relaxing, and welcomed stay. I give it and it's staff a 100%, A++++++, 2 thumbs way up, 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you for making my stay so nice.

"Ok hotel in this class"

02/08/2017

The first room we got was very small (150) and had any very nosy central AC just out side the room. We ask for a room change, which we got from the very friendly staff in the reception. The atrium with in door pool is very nice. Air quality and light is very good there. There are 2 type of windows one with out side windows and on facing the atrium. Nice pool and small gym. Breakfast is not a buffet. You select one beverage and 3 servings. If you are very hungry this is not enough. Very friendly staff. All in all ok hotel for one or two nights.

Hotel and amenities were very good! Location was right off the interstate, however there is absolutely nothing to do in the area. If you are looking for a nice, clean, hotel, with a lounge and restaurant in site and you are not looking for any entertaining places nearby then this is the hotel to stay at.

"Limited Breakfast Great Room"

30/07/2017

My room was great as there was a covered area immediately in front of my room where I could park my bike (or you your car). The breakfast was quite limited in quantity, but quality was good. Very convenient to Hwy 84.Noah was very helpful at check in.

"Outlaw Best Western"

5
27/07/2017

The whole hotel had cute western decor. Very homely feeling, and they even called to check up on us when we didn't arrive by 8 PM. Breakfast was awesome that you had choices and they cooked it for you instead of a buffet. That way it was fresh and ready to go. We enjoyed our stay, just wished we had arrived sooner to use the pool with our children.

"Great place to stay"

5
26/07/2017

Check in experience was excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Great food in their restaurant. Overall, this Best Western is great to place to spend the night or more, if needed.

"Exceptional except for..."

4
25/07/2017

I stayed for 32 days on a work related trip. I ate the breakfast everyday and experienced exceptional service, with a fast meal that rivals any of the other "continental breakfast." I did try various items on the dinner menu out of convince and had (3) pretty bad meals. Overall the place is great. I would keep my expectations low for meals other than B fast at the hotel.

"Nice and clean"

3
23/07/2017

rooms were nice and clean but could use a update for the price. I really like the rooms that have a door outside at ground level so you can park right in front of your room. But those rooms were all full so I had to take one on the interior which had a indoor pool in front of it and I noticed a musty smell as happens with all indoor pools. The parking lot is a nice size that had plenty of room for me to park my pickup with a trailer on. Overall a good motel just could use a update.

"Quaint, but good"

4
21/07/2017

When we pulled into the parking lot, the single floor appearance of the motel really intrigued us because a member of our party had limited mobility. When we checked in and realized that there was a lower floor and it was an older motel, we were worried about being able to move around. Turns out there was no need to worry. The staff were always happy and ready to operate the wheelchair left when we needed it. The room was a little tight, but acceptable. We appreciated the quaintness of the motel and the western decor throughout the property. The atrium in the center of the building was nice, but I can imagine it would be noisy if there was a party or lots of kids in the space. Overall, we were happy with our experience here.

"Smelly"

2
19/07/2017

The hotel was just run down and dirty. It smelled terrible and from the moment we walked in we weren't looking forward to our stay. It had convenience, but that was about it. Literally. Would not stay again.

"Stay anywhere but here"

2
18/07/2017

Price to high for what is there. We had a better time at the Days Inn a week earlier for $100.00 less. Restaurant dimly lit and the menus small fine print. Had to call wait staff for drink refills. Indoor pool between rooms and restaurant has humidity way up, who wants to sweat going to dinner? Better food and price at local restaurants.

"dated but clean"

2
11/07/2017

Paid $130 for an $85 dated room with "one time" keys. Had to have the keys re-programmed every time we entered the room. Clean, relatively quiet but dated and misrepresented online. Photographer deserves a 10 for misrepresentation

While the exterior may look a bit dated, our stay was complete with a very nice staff, nice room and a great complimentary breakfast. While this was my first time staying here, should I ever pass through sleepy Rock Springs again I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.....had a good experience.

Excellent hotel. Restaurant was exceptional, breakfast was great. Room was clean and had everything needed! Location was excellent for our trip. Gas stations were close by. We liked how we were given a breakfast menu when we checked in, chose our items and when we went for breakfast the waiter took our order and brought the food to us in a timely manner.

"Quiet, clean, well maintained, and a surprising bar"

5
03/07/2017

I've come to appreciate BW because of their standard of branding. Rock Springs is a bit of a rough town. The west side of town has the usual new hotels. The Outlaw Inn is located at the intersection of the Interstate and alternative route to Jackson. We were unimpressed with restaurant options in Rock Springs and decided to just eat in the bar. Great decision. Excellent restaurant.

"Great Place to Stay"

5
01/07/2017

The staff, service, and amenities at the Best Western Outlaw hotel are AA+. We felt is was the best place we stayed on our 10 day driving trip. This hotel is so much bigger than it appears from the road.

"Very nice place."

5
29/06/2017

Betty, at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean and very comfortable. You choose the breakfast you want and a waitress brings it to your table instead of a self-serve type set up. Convenient location.

"Over priced "

2
29/06/2017

Personnel were pleasant and efficient. Complementary breakfast was brought quickly, and choices were varied. AC moaned loudly when on. Vents were dirty and moldy. For the price we expected luggage carts and elevators. Electronics in room were outdated. Not enough locations for chargers.

"Pleasant Stay at the Outlaw Inn in Rock Springs"

3
25/06/2017

We enjoyed a pleasant stay with modern amenities. The room was in better shape than expected and we were able to pull right up to our room. The pool was out of order due to some kids that left things in it, but the management was on top of it. It may look aged on the outside but was a good night after all. We enjoyed the rustic décor and restaurant was hopping with activity.

"Broke down passing through"

We came in late and our room was ready for us and clean. The lobby was fresh and clean. Most rooms faced inside and to the indoor pool. Very clean place to stay. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices for a free breakfast Not a buffet style. That was a bonus!

"Outlaw BW"

Just passing through, thought we'd stop for the night. Not a good place for the in-firmed or claustrophobic. It's a unique architectural design, but no elevators, only steps to get to the rooms. The pool in inside the building, and there are not exterior windows in the rooms.

"Great Hotel for a great price."

4
20/06/2017

I would stay at Outlaw Inn in Rock Springs any time. The rooms are clean, our room was very quiet, in was nice having a restaurant and a lounge in the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and our experience was very good.

"Yearly Travels"

20/06/2017

We stay here at least once or twice a year. It is convenient, the staff is nice, Good parking for our truck and trailer, the rooms aren't bad (they could be updated a bit), but overall we like it and will continue going back.

"A good place to stay in Rock Springs."

4
10/06/2017

This is a unique spot. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the property is well-maintained inside, and the staff was friendly and professional. The building itself looks a little like a spaceship landed in town and the city converted it to a hotel. But don't let that odd appearance dissuade you - this is a very good spot for the night. A bar and restaurant are attached to the building. If you arrive during happy hour you get free drinks and snacks, and the free breakfast is served in the restaurant. The one thing that confounded me is that there did not seem to be an elevator. Our room was up a flight of about eight stairs. When I asked if there was an elevator the young lady at the desk said no, but that we just had a "short flight of stairs." I'm relatively able-bodied. I'm not sure what I would have done if I could not lug my suitcase up there. Or if I used a wheelchair. All that being said, if we found ourselves in Rock Springs again, we would definitely keep this on our list of options.

"Best Hotel on I-80 in Wyoming!"

5
10/06/2017

Best BW we have experienced. Western Décor, upscale restaurant dining even for included breakfast! Large lawn area adjacent for pets. Elevator, pool, large lobby with friendly staff-- we can't believe this property is not categorized as a Best Western PLUS. If you are driving across Wyoming, plan your drive so you stay here.

"Comfortable bed in Rock Springs, Wyoming"

5
08/06/2017

Booked hotel under Priceline Express Deals as a 3 star. When we pulled up I got a little scared, because we used to have a Best Western in my area which was built on the same floor plan and it has went way downhill. Once I entered the lobby I felt reassured. It was late when we arrived and the staff were very helpful. We had a room facing the indoor pool, there was a little light coming thru the curtains but it was quiet. Room was decorated in the "western cowboy theme" but we were traveling out west so the theme worked for this property. Beds were outstanding. I have both a sleep number and a tempapedic and this bed was comparable. Bathroom was nice, our booking included choose your breakfast in the Open Range, and it was great to be served instead of standing in line for the normal breakfast buffet. Dining staff was very pleasant.

"Unique!"

07/06/2017

We spent one night here in the midst of a long road trip. The location is very handy off the freeway, and check-in went very quickly. The rates are maybe a bit high, but I got a good government rate. Here's the thing. This motel was obviously the Latest Thing in Rock Springs when it was built in 1966. That may sound a little facetious, but I mean it as a positive thing, because the retro architecture is unique. The rooms themselves have been updated with an almost-kitschy cowboy theme. The result is unusual but also comfortable. Beds were great, room was reasonably sized, staff were all very friendly. A good breakfast is included and the on-site restaurant is a decent choice (there are other options nearby). Our room faced the pool, which I imagine might be noisy if the pool was in use, but nobody used it during our stay. The only noise was a loud sort of banging noise--possibly a housekeeping cart--at 6:30 am. The room also had no exterior windows, which was fine for a night. I'd definitely stay here again for the friendly service and unique ambience.

"Nice hotel near the highway!"

4
04/06/2017

Nice hotel with a good outside appearance, easily seen from the highway. Staff friendly and professional, check in and check out was quick and easy. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom had a tub/shower combination which is a plus! The indoor pool was very nice, warm and clean. Breakfast was very good and tasty!

"Nice large room"

4
19/05/2017

Surprised by the large size of our room with a king sized bed. The room made the 32-inch TV look tiny. Hotel is currently being updated, so expect some noise until they finish. The only negative would be the free breakfast. Staff friendly, easy parking and easy access to interstate.

Nice place to stay! great breakfast and clean rooms with nice beds. I stay here often and will stay here again! Has a bar / lounge area that you can sit and order food. Indoor pool which is good for Wyoming, no hot tub tho...

Enjoyed the hotel and services as we always do but the pillows leave much to be desired. They have no firmness and are terribly uncomfortable. Only the Truckee CA BW had wonderful pillows. They can't be that expensive if purchased throughout the hotels and thru business discounts.

"Pretty room with thin walls"

04/05/2017

Room decor got a 5 star but the thin walls got a 3. I dont like hearing my neighbors TV, snoring, or conversation. That means they can hear mine! :-) Hot order breakfast was excellent and the staff was always friendly.

Dear Ann ~ Thanks for taking time to write a review following your stay at The Outlaw. We are pleased to know you found the decor of the hotel and restaurant to be 5-Star, but are concerned about your report of noise from the neighboring room. Of course, we wish to have remedied the situation while your were our guest to ensure your stay to be comfortable and restful. That being said ~ we are most sorry this occurred. Seems you enjoyed your "excellent" breakfast and noted our wonderful staff continues to be "friendly" ~ but not quite excellent or friendly enough to help you forget the TV or snoring! Next time you call for a room please let our Front Desk Team know of past concerns and they will certainly do their best to make sure your next stay is completely 5-Star. Happy Trails, Mark D. "Decent place to spend the night"

4
01/05/2017

I spent one night here while in Rock Springs on a business trip. I can't say that I expected much out of a hotel in Rock Springs but this place definitely exceeded my expectations. I stayed in a room on the inside facing the pool area. The room was clean, dark, and quiet. If there had been a large group at the pool, it probably would have been a bit noisier in the room but as for my experience, the room and my sleeping experience were great. The staff at this hotel were very friendly both during checking in and out. I happened to stay at this hotel on a Thursday when the hotel bar has a 2 hour happy hour beginning at 5:30. During this time, quite a few of the house drinks and domestic beers are complimentary and the bartender did a superb job of attending to our needs. Despite this hotel being a bit on the pricey side, I'd recommend this place if you're traveling to Rock Springs or just passing through. The decor isn't as modern or up to date as a newer hotel, but this hotel is well taken care of and overall has a nice feel to it.

bwoutlaw, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Christopher from Ft. Collins ~ Thanks for writing a review of your stay last week at The Outlaw Inn. Very happy to know our Full-Service property "definitely exceeded expectations." Especially glad your room was "clean and quiet" and our staff was "very friendly both during checking in and out" - exactly what we like to hear from our valued customers! And pleased you enjoyed our managers Reception (a Tuesday and Thursday Event in our Saloon) and appreciated the bartender's attentiveness. Your comments on the "nice feel" of our property and recommendation to other travelers are both a great compliment. We hope you stop in again next time travels bring you down I-80 to the High Desert of Wyoming. Until then ........ Happy & Safe Travels. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Hard to Rate"

3
26/04/2017

I have really mixed emotions about this place. It is, in some ways, a throwback to luxury motel days of yore with some outdoor access rooms, an atrium, a full service resturaunt, a lounge and a spacious lobby. This is both good and bad. In my opinion rates are a bit on the high side of reasonable for the location. The rooms, at least the one I stayed in, have obviously been upgraded with nice decor and the obligatory fridge, flat screen tv and microwave. They are clean and well maintained if a bit dark thanks to outdated and low wattage CFC bulbs. LEDs would be welcome. Beds are comfortable. On the other hand there are few convenient outlets for the plethora of electronic gadgets we travel with nowadays. HVAC, while quiet, appears to be an either / or proposition. Availability of A.C. or heat, at least in the main building, depends on how the entire system is configured. More than ample parking. Although the hotel is generally quiet the pool is in the atrium which can get noisy at times: Kid's voices can penetrate anything! They also hold banquets and dinners there making things, again, a bit noisy. Breakfast in this day and age of grab and go can be inconvenient as it is either a full service sit down a la carte affair or a free but limited sit down check the box selection (Three items max plus coffee and juice.) one time order also served by the wait staff. This can be somewhat and unnecessairily time consuming if the place is busy and you have to be somewhere. Tip your server. Yes they have grab and go at the front desk but it's essentially a piece of fruit, a bun and a water. The resturaunt is a mixed bag. Soups are to die for. Prime rib is good. Schnitzel when available is also good as is the chicken fried steak. Can't recommend the Chicken Carbonara or the lamb. Carbonara sauce was bland and the chicken was, well, let's say the texture was unlike any chicken I'd ever chewed. While the lamb was ok the gravy was the consistency of paste. Was there for an Easter buffet. Expensive at thirty bucks a pop, and unremarkable, but at least all you could eat. There is a Denny's and a few fast food places close by with more such eateries and a Wal-Mart one exit further West along I-80. In the final analysis staying here depends on what you are looking for in a hotel. There are other choices in the area but in general I've been in worse places with fewer conveniences for more money and the staff here is helpful and more than pleasant. Choice is yours.

Dear John ~ Thank you for letting us know about your recent stay with us at The Outlaw Inn. We always appreciate Trip Advisor Reviews - and your writing seems to cover every experience one might enjoy at a full service property such as ours. We are pleased you - like many other travelers - continue as a return guest to The Outlaw - the greatest compliment a hotel can receive! Glad you noticed the "upgraded and nice decor" in your room as well as the fact you found it "clean and well maintained" - both very important on our list of goals here at 1630 Elk. Your comments concerning the free, made-to-order, fresh breakfast from The Open Range Scratch Kitchen and our Take-Away option for early risers/travelers (before 6 a.m.) has been noted as well as your liking our fresh soups and prime rib - both quite popular with locals and travelers alike! The layout of the hotel was really interesting. I really liked checking off my breakfast order to submit for restaurant style dining. Pillows were only ok. It worked out ok because there were 4. I didn't like the room location because it faced inside toward the pool instead of outside.

Wonderful service!!! Cleaniness was above average. Best Western needs to be ashamed of the condition of the interior and the furnishings, the rooms and especially the beds are inline of a 50.00 a night room not 120.00.

bwoutlaw, Owner at Best Western Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Sherry from Crestview, Florida ~ Thank you for writing to share your thoughts after your stay last Friday night at The Outlaw Inn. Sorry to heart you were not pleased with the interior of your room and its furnishings. After taking into account your comments and personally inspecting Room 343 (along with my Head of Housekeeping) in order to view the walls and furnishings - most especially the bed - we wish to emphasize guest comfort is what we always want to ensure. At the same time - our inspection showed recently updated furniture, mattress (king - Sealy Posturepedic), headboard and amenities. But again, your comfort and happiness is our concern. With regard to your rate (stated at $120) we have reviewed those records as well to find a King Bed discount to $110 + tax - with a final billing of $119 - discounted from last weekend's King Bed rate of $149.99 + tax. Our rates usually fall within the average of the upper-midscale big box hotels in the area. As an award winning, full-service property with on-sight Open Range Restaurant and Saloon we are pleased to offer reasonable rates to our valuable customers. We also encourage our guests to immediately contact the Front Desk Team when comfort is not at the level expected. We do hope you stop by again and allow us to take good care of you. Please do call (Kelly: 307-362-6623) if you wish to discuss your stay further as our main goal is to please our guests. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

It was a pleasant place to visit at this best western hotel. The restaurant was not too bad and integrated there at the hotel. I enjoyed my stay there at the hotel for the first time. The rooms were quiet and comfortable.

Got in late, they had a great room, clean and easily accessible, the lounge got my food from the restaurant and stayed open until I finished for me with great conversations! The staff were more than helpful. There is a nice pool area and patio indoors to cool your heels

I was very satisfied with the Outlaw Inn in Rock Springs, Wy. I was here on business. The staff was very helpful. The accommodations are very good. You can have a room on the inside where you don't even have to go out to eat, They have a great pool inside the motel. It is within walking distance of your room. The restaurants inside the motel are very good. They have a bar as well as a family style restaurant. You can also walk to a couple of other fast food places if you desire. I would rate this location very high for business or family.

First time at this hotel in Rock Springs and chose this hotel for the Nostalgic look on the web site. It is a very clean hotel but the outside is very dated and needs updated. and I did feel the price is high for the hotel.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Don from Bellevue ~ Thank you for taking time out from travels to write your thoughts on The Best Western Outlaw Inn. We're glad you chose to stay based on the "nostalgic look" of our mid-century designed hotel. The full-service property - custom designed and built in 1966 - is definitely Not Your Big Box Hotel. That being said, we are very glad to have preserved the original structure while maintaining and updating with numerous improvement projects over the past 8 years - as part of a 10-year renewal of the guest rooms, Open Range Restaurant, public restrooms, business center and meeting & events spaces. Currently we are finalizing plans for refurbishing of the bar with the addition of patio space and drive-through coffee. All part of our continued commitment as Sweetwater County's only 3-diamond full-service hotel - to keep our guests happy and comfortable. Please do stop in again to see the improvements/additions and let us know your thoughts. Until then...Happy & Safe Trails to you and yours. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Good But Can Be Better "

Let me begin by saying that I would definitely stay here again. If you visit eat dinner in the lounge. Peggy is a gem. Great personality and service. On Tuesdays and Thursdays well drinks, house wine and domestic beer are free to guests. Check in was efficient. Got a goodie bag for being an elite with BW. USA Today free in the lobby. The room was huge BUT no overhead light and the lamps had those lousy small curly florescents. Room was a bit dim. SUGGESTION: Replace them with LEDs. Breakfast is limited (For instance, you can have eggs any way you want as long as they are scrambled.) but good HOWEVER it is served in a sit-down full service venue starting at 0600. This makes it tough for those of us who need to be somewhere at 0645 to be served. Service is good. Don't forget to tip your server. SUGGESTION: Either open earlier OR serve buffet style. The hotel is not really convenient to downtown so be ready for a drive if you want to visit or eat there. The menu in the lounge or restaurant is enough to please most. Some selections are excellent (Try the soups!) others average but none were bad. I was there for a week. This was the only place I ate. TV had all the channels you would need but was a bit small for the size of the room. The rooms are clustered around an atrium. Quiet but no windows in mine. Didn't miss them. Huge bathroom. Two tubs / toilets/ sinks. Room and bathroom spotless but drapes are a bit open at their ends even when closed. SUGGESTION: Fasten the drapes at the ends so there is no opening when they are closed. Checkout was disappointing. No express checkout offered. Had to hit the front desk for the bill. Wasted time on a snowy morning when a trip to the airport over an icy I-80 was slow enough to maybe jeopardize making the flight. Correct the minor annoyances and this is a five star venue.

Virginia, Peggy and Kevin and the best people!!!! Amazing customer service! Very helpful, kind and fun! These three are just fantastic! Made for an amazing stay! Virginia was so helpful when she checked us in. Peggy was in the lounge. And Kevin was at the front desk when I locked myself out of my room! We had fun here and these three helped with that! What a great stay! Thank you all three!!!

We very much enjoyed our overnight stay here while on our road trip back to BC, Canada. The service was excellent. The room warm and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. We enjoyed staying on the ground floor which was very convenient for our luggage but it mean mean a bit of road noise. Also, the soundproofing between rooms could be better as the TV next door was heard, although not too loud.

Long drive thru Nebraska & Wyoming, but the Outlaw Inn provided a pleasant oasis stop along the way. All the amenities we needed and then some. Pleasant restaurant for breakfast where you select menu items from a list you receive upon checkin. Very tasty! Enclosed indoor access in large enclosed courtyard, protecting you from the winds, rain & snow prevalent in Wyoming. One of our most delightful stays on the road from Tennessee to Salt Lake City.

A great pace to stay. The outside appearance looks aged, but d not let that stop you from staying there. The hotel staff are warm and friendly. Very eager to assist. The staff in the restaurant are very attentive, as was the staff at the bar

07/11/2016

The room was just the right size. All the amenities seemed to be up to date. Comfortable bed. Mini fridge, microwave and flat screen TV were available. The high speed internet was extremely slow and dropped out several times throughout the evening. Otherwise, I slept throughout the night without being disturbed.

"Overpriced"

06/11/2016

We have stayed here in the past on our way from Idaho to Florida or returning home. We had forgotten how costly it was compared to other Best Westerns and other similar motels. Rock Springs seem to be where we land for the night. The free breakfast is unremarkable. The beds are good. The lower level rooms have no natural light and are good for sleeping.

Nothing extraordinary about the room either way. What made the stay memorable was the meal at the steakhouse at the restaurant. We had two of the best New York steaks we have ever had. I would select this hotel over similar others based on the quality of the meal we had there. Outstanding. Service was great too.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Susan from Trinity Center ~ Thank you for writing about your "memorable" stay and meal at The Outlaw Inn and Open Range Restaurant. Your Five-Star designation of our full-service property is greatly appreciated and will be shared with the entire Team. :) Glad to hear you found your New York steaks "the best we have ever had" plus "great" service." In the Rock Springs/Sweetwater County area - with many choices/brands of hotels - we've been told many times - And are happy to hear once again! - The Open Range Restaurant places our full-service property above the competition and into the "outstanding" category. We had trouble finding the motel . It was unclear which of the buildings behind the sign was the motel and the entry was very poorly lit . I could not determine that it was the motel ulntil I got close to the door and read a small sign on the door.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Joicefaie ~ Thank you for writing to let us know about your stay at The Outlaw this past week. Sorry for the confusion regarding the hotel signage as we do have rather large, well-lit signs just off Elk Street at both entries to the property. We are glad, however, that you were able to navigate your way to the large, covered entry to the main hotel lobby. We hope you enjoyed a good nights rest and enjoyed your free, made-to-order breakfast in our Open Range Restaurant the following morning. Please do stop by and stay and dine with us again sometime soon. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

We had to go to Rock Springs for a funeral. The room was comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good. Waitstaff was also friendly and delivered good service. We loved the hot breakfast. It was just perfect for our needs.

We needed a half way point between Denver and Jackson Hole and landed here. Rock Springs is not a place of beauty, but the hotel is great. Just what we needed. Its position just off the highway is very convenient. The staff are friendly and efficient. Our room was massive and well equipped. We also had an excellent dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. Well fed and rested we set off in the morning. Many thanks!

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Ann ~ Thanks for writing to let us know of your recent experience at The Outlaw. Appreciate your title "A good place to stop" and your saying "the hotel is great." Glad you found the property convenient in it's location just off I-80 on H-191 headed north to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone Park. And especially pleased you found the Staff to be "friendly and efficient" and your dinner and free made-to-order breakfast "excellent." My entire Staff prides itself in seeing our guests happy and well rested as they set out on their journeys. "A real cut above the rest of the Best Western chain"

5
17/10/2016

The Outlaw Inn is so far above the rest of the Best Western chain. Don't know where to start. Room was extremely clean -- the bathroom was so spotless that the tub could be used for soaking. None of that invisible soap scum on it. Just squeaky clean white porcelain. The chair to be used at the business desk was comfortable and adjustable. The heating system work well. Nice swimming pool. The fitness center had running machine, elliptical and a nautilus. Additionally, yoga mats, blocks, and a large ball were available. Television had HBO (Westworld and Divorce!) ; wi-fi worked well; fridge for food storage very welcome. Beds were comfortable enough but a teensy bit firm for me. What was really great was breakfast. Best Western usually puts out a decent spread with things kept warm in steam pans. I'm not a fan of old scrambled eggs. This place did it perfect for me. The free breakfast was a menu and you could order a limited number of items from it. Food freshly prepared. The hash browns were very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The eggs were great. Crispy bacon. And very good coffee. I was visiting family and enjoyed a trout dinner in the restaurant one evening. Nicely cooked. I don't usually notice decor, but this place had such lovely paintings that it is noteworthy. The staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. I felt as though they were happy I was a guest.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Mary Pat ~ Thank you for taking time to write about your stay several weeks ago at The Outlaw Inn and Thanks Also! for awarding our property a Five-Star Review. :) Your review complimented many details of our full-service property - a number of which have been newly refurbished in recent years. Your appreciation informs me that we've made the right decisions when it comes to room renovations, expanding cable offerings, the addition of a fitness center, complete refurbishing of our 33 drive-up rooms, a new business center, the added lift to lower level rooms and restaurant and the remodel of our lobby and Open Range Restaurant including the adjacent restrooms. Thanks also for mentioning the artwork as we continue to add new Western Art pieces and historic photography. Our entire team here at The Outlaw Inn strives to make each and every guest Happy ~ glad you felt that way during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you again next time you're in Rock Springs. "Last Resort"

08/10/2016

My husband booked this hotel because of some of the great reviews, plus we have had great experiences at other BW's. I am not usually one for writing bad reviews but I feel like I need to warn other travelers, especially based on the fact that there are other reviews that seem to be misleading. This hotel is old, run down, and difficult to navigate. The rooms are laid out in an awkward manner, like they were once two separate buildings at one time that they slapped a roof on to make into one hotel. If you have more than a couple of pieces of luggage, you better hope that you are staying on the street level because there are no luggage carts and no elevators (only a glass handicapped elevator to be ada compliant). I noticed an elderly couple struggling to get up to the 2nd floor. The rooms smelled terrible and were incredibly stuffy. When we tried to turn the air down to about 72 degrees to help circulate the air, we noticed that there was very little air movement and the room did not get cooler. When we asked the front desk about changing rooms so that we could get an air conditioner that works, they said that the entire hotel was connected to only one HVAC system which is controlled by the front desk. That means that we had no control over the temperature in our room. The entire hotel was set at one temperature. At night, our room temp got up to 78 degrees which is completely unacceptable. We almost contemplated leaving the hotel to go to another hotel. That's how uncomfortable we were with the place. If you are looking for a place to stay in this town, pay an extra $20 and go to another hotel. This hotel is a last resort.

"What a wonderfully pleasant surprise. Loved this place!"

04/10/2016

We traveled all day through the Rocky Mountains so it was very late by the time we arrived at our hotel. We were very tired but one step in the door and we suddenly wished it was mid afternoon so that we would have more time to enjoy this fantastic place. The large lobby boosted warm leather couches and chairs along with a large saddle and a huge inviting fireplace. Despite being tired I could not help but take an extra few minutes to sit down on the couch and get a little respite before going to our room. I have to admit it could have been easier because the middle section where our rooms were located were blocked off for an event the next morning however they did allow us to use the small elevator to get our luggage to our rooms. Our room was great, comfortable beds, western decor and very nice. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning with wonderful service. Our server even allowed me to keep the pen for my purse and I used it throughout our trip out west to the National Parks. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a perfect spot for traveling to Jackson Hole. My only regret is that I would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the great presentation of this great place.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Shirley from Doylestown, PA - USA ~ Thank you for writing an excellent title on your note: "What a wonderfully pleasant surprise. We were pleasantly surprised and very happy to find the Outlaw Inn in the quality condition was in. Over the years we have stayed here several times and always had a good experience. Thanks for your effort to keep it is top notch condition

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear fellow Wyoming Natives ~ Personally, I must say, your writing a 5-Star Review of The Outlaw Inn with comments "pleasantly surprised and in quality condition" - makes me very proud. Most especially due to those words coming from a Wyoming couple who has stayed with us "over the years - several times- always good experience." As we continue to keep the entire full-service property in "top notch condition" - our next project will see a refreshing of the Saloon area by opening the vacated drive-through liquor store and outdoor patio areas into a combined space where both food and beverages are served along with crafted coffee drinks. Additionally, the adjacent drive-through area will offer crafted coffee and take-away food orders. So please continue to stop in and enjoy The Outlaw Experience. Happy Trails, Mark D. "Would Stay Again"

01/10/2016

I stayed at Outlaw Inn twice while traveling to and from the Denver area. Loved it. Clean, quiet, friendly staff both times. The first room I had was an oversize king room, complete with sitting area, TV, Microwave, refrigerator. The bed was comfortable, and loved the fresh, fluffy, soft towels. This room had 2 bathrooms, which I didn't need. The second time I stopped, I had a queen room. This room was also clean, inside, by the pool. My door actually opened up to the pool area. I don't know if it would be noisy when there are people in the pool, but for this time, it was quiet. There is a cook to order breakfast (you mark what you would like and take it to the breakfast area in the morning - limited to 3 items) As I had to leave before 6:00 am, I was given a "breakfast to go" - muffin, granola bars, apple, and a bottle of water.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Sandy from Petaluma ~ Thank you for writing to share your experience at The Outlaw Inn following your recent stay. Very pleased to know you are one of many repeat guests after experiencing "clean, quiet, friendly staff" on a previous visit. Thanks also for mentioning a special feature at our full-service (all under one roof) hotel - the free, fresh, made-to-order and served by waitstaff breakfast prepared in our scratch Kitchen. (No powdered eggs here!) Sorry your departure time did not allow you to take advantage of the served breakfast, but happy to know The Outlaw Team came through with a Breakfast to Go to enjoy on the road. Hope your travels have gone well and looking forward to seeing you again next time you venture through the High Desert of Wyoming. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Clean room. 2 queen beds, both lumpy, and dented in center. Rest of room was fine. Very nice front desk staff. Unable to park close to room,on second floor with no elevator. They have a restaurant on site, which was very good. Indoor pool.

Dear Mary ~ Thank you for taking time to write a review. Glad you found your room "clean" and our on-site Open Range Restaurant to be "very good." 27/09/2016

We typically stay at Evanston or Little America when traveling between Boise and Denver. We wanted to shorten the drive to Denver and stayed in Rock Springs. We are very impressed with "The Outlaw Inn". It is equipped with conference facilities, terminals for work, a very nice swimming pool. A very good large restaurant and a bar. Like just about every BW that we have stayed in, the staff is friendly and quite accommodating. This hotel can handle a business meeting and the catering. Our room was clean and properly equipped. The hotel lobby is very welcoming. The restaurant entrance is down stairs. The bar entrance is off the lobby. The hotel is easily accessed from I-80.

Dear Michael from Boise ~ Thank you for writing a very complimentary, 5-Star review of our full-service property! "My Stay at the Out Law In in Rock Springs Wy"

With degree in Hospitality, and 20+ plus years in sales including corporate and group sales for hotels to travel group sales. I have experienced plenty hotels across the U.S and Canada. I can be very picky on appearance of the establishment, how guess services greet you, to how the towels are folded. I look for those little things that really count. My experience with Best Westerns Outlaw Inn, wasn't just another motel, hotel. It was "Out Standing Inn Experience" Every f thing from my suite room (that I didn't expect) to the wait staff that made me feel special in the "Inn" restaurant. The Out Law Inn, is just that Inn, with class to the max. Thank you for the wonderful experience. And I hope to visit your again.

"Will Not Disappoint"

23/09/2016

We arrived at the Outlaw Inn having flown from Atlanta to Denver, via a very long day, and then the long drive from Denver to Rock Springs. So we were more than a little travel weary. Do not worry, this hotel will not disappoint. This hotel is, of course, an older hotel, but you would never guess it by your room. This was one of the cleanest rooms I have ever had. The room is updated and had everything you need including very comfortable beds. Something about the shower was special, can't describe. The breakfast was WONDERFUL. You pick three items, but don't be skeptical, this is made to order and is excellent. You will think about how special this breakfast was long after you're gone. Please remember to tip your server well as they are great people and this is no ordinary breakfast. I'm still thinking about how nice it was. Very good experience here.

My wife and I enjoyed the clean, quiet, spacious and updated rooms. The Western themed decor which is carried throughout the premises is fun and interesting. The on site restaurant and lounge offer the convenience that motels in the past used to. We found the staff friendly and professional. We would recommend the Outlaw Inn to anyone who's looking for an unique and comfortable motel experience.

Breakfast is done a little differently here. It's not your usual continental get it yourself buffet style breakfast. You pick a few items off of a breakfast sheet, max of three items and a drink, give to a server/staff member and breakfast is served to you restaurant style. Jolynn & Bobbie were the sweetest people ever. They took great care of us and were funny and kind. If you like cinnamon buns, GET THE CINNAMON BUN. It was SO good!

I was here for two nights on a business trip. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A warm welcome after hours of driving really makes a difference! The room was large and well furnished. There is a free cooked breakfast and we ate at both the restaurant and the saloon, both were great. In both cases, the friendly, helpful staff really made our experience one we will remember. If you find yourself in this part of the country, I can't think of a better place to stop.

Clean Rooms. Actually has a restaurant on site which was nice. Very friendly staff. Liked the decor which was centered around the famous outlaws. The interior lobby area was very well decorated. Inside pool

Homemade omelettes with your choice of meat and veggies made fresh right before your eyes was a very welcomed surprise. Oh, were they ever so tasty, melt in your mouth with gooey cheese, fresh vegetables, and my favorite meat - bacon! I'd definitely stay here again and would linger longer over my meal.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Irish Tomato from Madison ~ Thank you for taking time to write a 5-Star! Review about your recent stay at The Outlaw Inn. Seems you were very pleased with your food ~ the Homemade Omelette ~ in our on-site restaurant - The Open Range. (under the same roof as the hotel) Glad to know you appreciated the cheese, fresh veggies and bacon ingredients in your omelette - all fresh and prepared by our outstanding Kitchen Crew. This was a nice surprise, the room and bed was good. The restaurant on premise was real good and after being on the road all day it was great to walk-in and have a great meal. Oh and for breakfast it was even better. There's even a bar but never made it into the bar.

Hotel is clean and comfortable. But if you want my business you need to be completing for my business. If I want to stop some place and relax. I should not pay full price. I tried and stay at the Best Western. Comfort Inn gave me a discount no matter where I stayed and I do not need to book in advance.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Seattle Traveler ~ Thank you for writing to let us know you found The BW Outlaw Inn to be "clean and comfortable" - both of which are tops on our Mission Statement. We are also very proud of our Trip Advisor Certificate of Achievement and 3-Diamond - AAA designations and work diligently to keep our room rates reasonable compared to other area hotels with those same awards. Additionally (and different from our competitors) we provide a free, made-to-order breakfast - prepared by our Open Range Kitchen Crew and served by our waitstaff in the O-R Dining Room. And - if you happened to be a guest on either Tuesday or Thursday - you would enjoy the Manager's Reception (free drinks and appetizers) in our Saloon. Please do stop in again - sometime soon. Until then……. Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Impressive lobby and pool area"

29/08/2016

I was surprised how large this hotel was. The lobby, breakfast and pool area were very nice and very spacious. The location is good with a Denny's and a few other restaurants just down the road. There are rooms connected to the main building which have an indoor entrance, there are also some motel type rooms, which look a bit older and have individual outdoor entrances. We were in one of the older rooms, which was clean and comfortable, but nothing fantastic. The wifi worked great, the bed was comfortable and we had a good shower so that was all we needed. The breakfast was different than most hotels, we received a card and we could choose 3 items off the card and a drink, we had to hand in the card when going for breakfast and were served breakfast at our table. It was nice to be served but I do prefer being able to pick and choose more than 3 items, since each choice, no matter how small, was considered a separate item.

Thanks also for your comments concerning our fresh, made-to-order, free breakfast prepared by our Open Range Kitchen Crew. We do offer guests a number of items including: a selection of cereals, breaks, fruits, eggs, pancakes and sausage/bacon - with the option of selecting a hot or cold beverage plus three items from the guest menu - all served by our waiters. The hotel rooms are quiet even though it seems like it should be loud with the rooms facing the pool. My daughter and husband were in the pool and she was screaming and I couldn't hear it from a room very close to the pool. My baby was crying and my husband couldn't hear it from outside our room. The beds are really comfortable. The A/C has trouble keeping up but it was hot and our rooms were warm but comfortable.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Bridgette ~ Thank you for writing to Trip Advisor to let us know of your experience last week at The Outlaw. "Classic early Best Western where no 2 properties were alike."

22/08/2016

This is my IDEAL B/W. With 2 floors of rooms surrounding an atrium supported by large wood py. lings, and wood ceiling. One one side is a large pool and on the other side is an open multi use space that could be used for banquets, dances, etc. Upon your arrival in the lobby in the center are overstuffed sofas that I would buy a room just to sleep on them. Off to the side is a lounge with the house restaurant beside it.The room is clean comfortable and has 77 channels of TV. Check in was fast and friendly, with a (good) twist. At check in (1 night) you'll be given a breakfast menu card which you fill in and guess this. They will cook it to order. (ATTN: Corporate this way should cut down on waste, I suspect FEW people would object to the added time/ over freshness. The location of the property is off exit 104 of I-80 . It has a Denny's, McD's ,Taco John's and an (unk) pasta joint directly across the road. 2 hints:1) if you are booking thru BWI ask for an exterior room away from US191,(the quietest year round.). 2) gas at the Flying J across the road is $. 15/gal cheaper than the Loafs and Jugs next door. .

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Tallahassee Guest ~ Thank you for writing following your stay this week at The Best Western Outlaw Inn. We appreciate your calling our property "Classic Early Best Western" as many of our guests find the custom, mid-century design of our full-service property to be remarkable in a time when most hotels are in the shape of boxes. Thanks also for mentioning our on-site Open Range Restaurant where hotel guests enjoy a fresh, made-to-order and served breakfast from the scratch kitchen. (As well as lunch and dinner - open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.) It seems you might have stayed in one of thirty-three drive-up rooms - newly remodeled in 2015. (many located on the back side of the building) Glad you found that area to be "quiet" and to your liking. The entire staff looks forward to the next time you stop in to The Outlaw. Until then……. "Next door occupants sat outside my hotel door and made noise"

1
13/08/2016

I tried Best Western Outlaw because it looked like a quieter hotel than many in this town. It was definitely more expensive than the hotels I had been staying at before at $150 a night. Starting about 6pm, the next-door occupants of another hotel room took the hotel furniture out of their room, and set it up outside my door and theirs next door. They commenced drinking beers and telling stories to each other. One of the women sat right outside my door. I hoped they would go back into their room or to a restaurant like most people will do, but they just sat outside drinking beers and talking loudly. I finally opened my door and politely asked them if they would go into their hotel room since I was trying to sleep. One of the men told me, not so politely, to mind my own business because he was exercising his free rights. So I called the hotel staff to complain. There was only one woman on duty, and she said she couldn't leave the desk. Apparently, there were no other workers, including no other maintenance workers. She called their hotel room and asked them to keep it down, but they ignored her. I complained a second time. This time she came around back to where my hotel room was, and she asked them to move their party indoors their hotel room. They ignored her again. So then she had no idea what to do, and she called me and said if they persisted in being noisy for "three times" she might call the police but otherwise, the best she could do was transfer me to another room. This was supposedly a nice hotel but the management couldn't control their own hotel guests. Why couldn't she just kick them out? Why couldn't she just order them inside? I have no idea why she didn't just do something concrete, but luckily they did quiet down slightly, and I fell asleep until the man who earlier told me to mind my own business, knocked on my door loudly at about 10:00pm. He woke me up. I could hear his girlfriend tell him, "Be careful now!" I had trouble falling asleep after that because I was afraid the guy would do something extreme like slash my tires. You might expect this type of guest at a Motel 6, but why was this goon at a Best Western where he had to pay out $150 a night? I was underwhelmed by the ineffectiveness of management, by the courtesy of my fellow guests, and by the expensive price for nowhere in the middle of Wyoming.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Cynthia ~ Thank you for writing to share your experience from your recent stay at The Outlaw. Our Evening Front Desk Manager thought she had solved the problem by offering to move you to another area of the hotel. And I do understand why you did not wish to move after settling in for a good night's rest. I have met with my Front Desk Team to discuss how me might better serve our guests when they are unable to fall asleep for any number of reasons. We certainly wish this situation could have been resolved quickly to your liking. Please feel free to contact me or my Front Desk Manager, Kelly, at 307-362-6623 - if you'd like to further discuss your frustrations. The room was very comfortable and had easy access to an indoor pool, exercise room, and fine dining restaurant within the hotel. A hearty breakfast was included with the charge of room within the same restaurant. Location was ideal with easy access to I-80 and WY Rt 191 intersection.

This is a relatively large older motel which is very well maintained. The room for 2 was not large, but very comfortable. The exercise room was adequate since it is not heavily used. The front desk staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the town. The attached restaurant was quite nice (standard American food). Unusual for a Best Western, the included breakfast was served.. Nice touch!

Exhausted on the road the Best Western in Rock Springs was an oasis. Very comfortable in ALL ways-clean-well appointed but the best of the lot was the staff at the desk. They were welcoming, and seeing my condition provided the information and room to meet my specific needs. I resumed my trip being restored.

This is a very nice hotel, conveniently located. Very clean with comfortable beds.we didn't stay for breakfast so they fixed us snack bags to go which was wonderful. The staff was friendly and accompanying. The only draw back to this hotel is its has stairs, there is an elevator but the staff has to operate it which is kinda a nuisance, but overall it's a great hotel for the money.

"Excellent start to our vacation"

01/08/2016

After a very long first day in the car we arrived at the hotel. I booked based on Tripadvisor reviews and once again, I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is older, but has been renovated. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Seeing the complaint about no elevator--only stairs, I'm not sure how you would have an elevator that would take you up about 8 steps.....It's an old style BW with the bottom rooms on a lower level (you have to go down from the main floor) and the upper rooms on a raised level with the pool in the middle. Anyway....they do offer a free breakfast at the attached restaurant and I love the way they do it. I wish it was like this at every hotel with an attached restaurant. If I ever happen to be in Rock Springs, WY again this would be where I would stay.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Munster Family from Kansas ~ Thank you for taking time to write about your stay this week at The Best Western Outlaw Inn. As a former Rock Springs to Kansas road-tripper, I can well imagine how happy you were to arrive at the hotel following your first day of travel and am so happy to know we did not disappoint! Glad you noticed the many renovations the mid-century designed hotel has undergone over the past 7 years and pleased you found your rooms "clean and comfortable." And your note about a previous Trip Advisor mention of "no elevator" to navigate 7 steps - is well received, with the added information of a newly installed Lift - just off the main lobby that will assist our guests to roughly 50% of the interior rooms (no steps to 33 exterior, curb-side rooms) and our under-the-same-roof Open Range Restaurant - where the free, Made-to-Order Breakfast is served. Your final statement of "If I ever happen to be in Rock Springs, WY again - this would be where I would stay" is the greatest compliment The Outlaw Property can receive - Thank You! We do hope you and your family happen this way again ~ Until then……… we all wish you all Safe & Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Outdated but decent quality"

3
26/07/2016

The Outlaw Inn has a dated appearance that includes the inside layout and decor. There are no elevators, only stairs. Though it's only two floors, I saw several elderly customers dragging their heavy luggage up dated, carpeted stairs. The hotel is very clean, though, and comfortable. The hotel's restaurant, The Open Range, is again very dated in appearance, but the food quality was surprisingly good. Our server, Tawdy, was extremely friendly and accommodating.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Guest from Englewood, Colorado ~ Thank you for writing a note to share your thoughts about The Outlaw following your recent stay at The Outlaw. The mid-century, custom design of our full-service property (Hotel, Restaurant & Saloon all under one roof!) along with our many renovations over the past five years are of interest to our many guests. While some guests do prefer to carry their luggage up six steps, we do offer luggage assistance or the use of an elevator-lift (installed 2014) as well as the convenience of 33 drive-up, exterior rooms. We appreciate your comment calling the Hotel "very clean and comfortable" and The Open Range Restaurant "food quality surprisingly good." (We'll be sure to share your compliments with Tawdy.) As a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award Winner - both the The Outlaw & Open Range - we take great pride in the historical architecture of the building along with continual "renewal" of the various amenities on property. We look forward to you and your family as guests next time you find yourself on the High Desert of Wyoming. Until then…… we wish you Safe and Happy Travels. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Old motel with a new face"

4
26/07/2016

We have been in Rock Springs before. This motel has been around awhile. We stayed in one of the older rooms that opens directly to the parking lot. My spouse is handicapped and it was perfect for loading and unloading the car! Probably the only drawback for us was the dining room's location on a lower level. We didn't find an elevator and presume this is part of the old building. Good free breakfast with waiters serving. Hotel meals purchased were rather expensive we thought.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Lynn from Lincoln ~ Thank you for taking time to write and share your experience following your stay at The Outlaw Inn. Glad to hear you found your room - one of our 33 exterior/curbside rooms - to your liking - with parking directly in front of each room - many featuring shed covers (exterior renovation 2014) for sun/snow protection. Those 33 rooms were completely renovated/redecorated in 2015 with new furniture, carpet, light fixtures, etc…. Sorry to hear you were confused about The Open Range Restaurant's location - just off the Main Lobby, down six steps or a quick lift ride to accommodate handicapped guests. In addition - The Saloon - immediately to the right of the main doors to the Lobby - serving lunch and dinner. (no steps or lift ride to navigate) Next time you stay at The Outlaw - please don't hesitate to dial the front desk for assistance in locating our many hotel amenities within our full-service property - as we're here to assist each and every guest in enjoying a comfortable and happy stay. Looking forward to your stopping in to be our guests again sometime soon. Until then……Happy and Safe Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

This place is great! It is everything I have come to expect from almost every Best Western. When I came in Betty was so much more helpful than I am used to at hotels. She even got me a different room to help me out with my activities. The pool is awesome! Western them in rooms is great too. Jessie

Great hotel in an unassuming location. Quality rooms, nice atrium, great swimming pool, lobby and restaurant. Food selection for the included breakfast were great and not limited to one or two items and cooked to order, not microwaved and put into a small corner of the lobby like some hotel chains. Definitely would visit again if we go through Wyoming.

Dear Catherine ~ We appreciate your writing yesterday about your stay at The Outlaw and thank you for your 5-Star Review! So glad you "loved the cleanliness and friendliness" of the full-service property. (Yes - we have a Saloon and the Open Range Restaurant - all under one roof. :) Today the Outlaw Crew is loving your statement: "All around the best experience on the trip!" as they take great pride with regard to both service and comfort for our guests. Please do come back again - sometime soon. Until then……..Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Older Property"

12/07/2016

The property was clean and the front desk staff was great. The room was quiet even though just outside the pool. The property has not been updated in awhile, including the bed and towels. Property just seemed dated compared to other properties we stayed in for this trip. Easy access to the freeways, gas, and food. Wifi was good. Bar is very dark and not all that clean. Likely would not use the property in the future.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Brian from Peoria ~ Thank you for taking time to write following your recent stay at The Outlaw Inn. Glad you found our full-service property "clean" and the front desk staff "great." Pleased also to know that you had a good night's rest due to the "quiet" in your room and found freeway access "easy" and wifi "good." Am concerned with your comments regarding the updating of our property as we have been engaged in a number of both structural and furnishing projects over the past several years - including those of new towels and bedding - to better serve the needs of our guests. Will be checking with housekeeping to verify new towels in room in which you stayed. You may be interested to know ~ The design of The Outlaw is mid-century and very unique (custom - not a copy of another hotel) and was completed in 1966 under the supervision of a Texas architecture firm. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly if we can be of further assistance regarding your stay. We do hope you'll stop in again when travels bring you back to the wide-open spaces of Wyoming. "The only place to stay in Rock Springs."

12/07/2016

I came to Rock Springs for a class reunion. My first choice to stay was at the historic Outlaw Inn. A review of the various rating agencies, like AAA, told me The Outlaw Inn was still a top tier motel. I was not disappointed. First impressions were positive. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Fresh flowers were present. The upper-level Inside room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was nice and tradional looking. The service and food was good. I would like to suggest to Mr. Anselmi that he add ramps and handicapped lifts for those of us with rolling luggage and achy knees. I would like to have more light in the room and in the interior of the building to help my failing eyes. More greenery too. There was an interesting gazebo-like section I walked through from the lobby to my upper-level room. It appeared neglected, like an unrented conference room. I hope that in the future it would always look like like an even-ready ready event. Don't get me wrong, me and my classmates loved it and used it until the wee hours of the morning. It just could could be more inviting. I would also like to see double automatic doors to both lobby entrances and automatic doors from the lobby to the inside rooms. The restaurant could use a make-over. Modernized and more light. Adding ramps and automatic doors could push the hotels ratings much from 3 to 4 stars. Rock Springs is a rough hewn industrial city in the middle of the Red Desert. The beauty of the town is in the people and the insides of their homes and businesses. The OutLaw Inn is an excellent representation of Rock Springs' inner beauty. if your travels take you through Rock Springs stay at the Outlaw Inn.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Mickey M. ~ Thank you for taking time to write about your stay at The Outlaw Inn during your recent class reunion. The entire Crew here is enjoying your title: "The only place to stay in Rock Springs" as well as your naming the property "historic." (It's true - If only the walls could speak. :} Thanks also for a variety of compliments concerning our front desk staff, the fresh flowers, the "spacious, clean and comfortable" rooms, and the "nice and traditional" Open Range Restaurant with "good food and service." Not sure how you missed the lift - located between the lobby and "gazebo-like section" you described - installed two years ago along with Ramps - leading to the lower-level atrium rooms and O-R Restaurant. Within the past five years, the lift/ramp project was among many here at The Outlaw, including: Refurbishing of the Open Range + new artwork, complete tear-out and installing of new ADA compliant restrooms near the O-R, complete tear-out and building of five new ADA compliant guest rooms, remodel of the lobby and the Robber's Roost, complete remodel of our 33 drive-up rooms, the planting of over 50 trees in various exterior planted areas and a facelift of the exterior design which includes a walled patio area near the Saloon, shed covers surrounding the 33 exterior drive-up rooms and remodel of the drive-through area (the old Liquor Store) with plans for O-R Coffee Shop coming in late 2016. Next time you return to your hometown, we'd be more than happy to give you a personal tour of the property with more details of recent "renewal" projects as well as those coming in the future. (Saloon, "gazebo-like" section (It will be more inviting!), outdoor patio area with fire pit, new spot and decorative lighting in O-R, Open Range Coffee Shop and drive-thru, and continued room remodel. And we will certainly consider your idea of automatic doors between the Lobby and the Atrium Landing. (makes sense since Lift is located within 10 ft. of those doors:) As a AAA 3-Diamond full-service property, the entire Outlaw/Open Range Crew is very proud to also be the recipient of numerous awards in recent years, including Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence for both The Outlaw and The O-R Restaurant - one of just a handful of Wyoming full-service properties to receive the TA awards. (and the only in the southern tier of Wyoming) And finally, another thanks to you for suggesting travelers to Rock Springs "stay at The Outlaw Inn" - as the best review is your recommendation. Please do stop in again and stay next time you travel back to the High Desert of your youth. And please don't hesitate to call for that personal tour. Happy Trails, Mark D. "Great spot after a long drive."

12/07/2016

One stop hotel. Indoor pool, restaurant, bar, business center, rooms facing the pool- simple but nice and very quiet. Rooms were clean (and I am pretty picky) & the beds were also clean and really comfy. The only negative I can say is that they didn't have any luggage carts which was not very nice for a family with a bunch of bags & the free breakfast is served from 6am-9am. Would be nice to go on a little longer. I would highly recommend this place.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Samara ~ Thank you for writing to share your experience at The Outlaw and in The Open Range Restaurant with other travelers and me. Loving your title: "Great spot after a long drive" as well as your concluding statement: "highly recommend this place" - both a pleasure to hear from a recent guest. :) Thanks also for mentioning the "clean and comfy" beds and your overall impression of the property as being "simple, but nice and very quiet." Wishing you would have let us know of your baggage load as we do have several members of our Crew here (from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.) who are eager to assist guests with luggage. Also - with regard to the breakfast hours - guests may be seated in the dining room (with order given to waiter) up until 9 a.m. each morning. We also offer Breakfast-to-Go bags - available upon request at the front desk. We hope your travels have been safe and enjoyable and look forward to seeing you again next time you're in southwest Wyoming. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Unlawfully Good!"

10/07/2016

Beautiful older Hotel here in pretty desolate country, And for the same reason its really nice to have an on-site restaurant and it also really helps that its REALLY GOOD! We looked over the menu and had room service deliver it. Very good food and reasonably priced. Our room, and most others over look the pool. Pool looked very nice, but I was way too tired from the road. Despite its age, the Hotel is very clean and well kept. All the staff was very friendly. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rock Springs.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Steve from Toledo in Washington ~ Thank you for the "Unlawfully Good" review you wrote about your stay yesterday at The Outlaw plus your experience in our Open Range Restaurant. We're especially proud that you've called the full-service property a "Beautiful older Hotel" and "clean and well kept" as we've worked diligently over the years to keep the place in great shape with a few tasteful updates here and there in both the Hotel and O-R Restaurant. (Stay tuned for what's coming in the Saloon area as we add O-R Coffee Shop and a fire pit on the patio :) Glad you took advantage of the O-R Room Service option ("very good food") and noted the reasonable prices - all due to the quality and efficiency of our scratch kitchen. And as owner and manager, I'm quite pleased to know you found the entire Crew "friendly" and enjoyed your final note of "Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rock Springs." Looking forward to your return and, until then, wish you Safe and Happy Travels. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Dear Darren from Wichita ~ Thank you for writing and Thank you! for titling your note "Great place to stay in Rock Springs Wyoming." Finally, your recommendation of our full-service property to other travelers is an honor for the entire Outlaw Team. Please do stop in and be our guest again. Until then…….. "Relaxing stay!"

05/07/2016

After an unexpected stop in Rock Springs on our way North, us three travelers were in search of a quiet, comfortable, clean hotel room available at...10pm at night with no reservation! The desk staff were helpful and cheerful and the hotel felt very safe and secure. The hotel room was well fitted with chairs, fun decorations, a mini-fridge, a luggage rack, and comfy pillows! Breakfast was delicious and the staff was accommodating and very friendly. I'd recommend this place to travelers looking for a reasonably-priced, quiet, comfortable hotel with food that will leave you stuffed and happy.

We were weary after a long drive and stopped for the night. This hotel is amazing with a heated indoor pool. The pool area is large and it makes you feel like you are outside. The kids loved swimming and we enjoyed relaxing. Wish we could have stayed longer!! The restaurant was fabulous and the complimentary breakfast was cooked to order. The food was very delicious! We definitely recommend Best Western Outlaw Inn!!

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Shari and Family ~ What a title! "Fantastic Stay" - just what we like to hear from our guests here at The Outlaw Inn - Rock Springs. Glad you found our Full-Service Property to be an "amazing" place to rest and recreate - yes, our pool is unusual with regard to size and the very high ceilings with skylights. (No low ceilings here!) Pleased to know your children "loved swimming" and the adults "enjoyed relaxing." :) Thanks also for mentioning our Award Winning, on-site Open Range Restaurant as "fabulous" following your complimentary, cooked-to-order breakfast. I had been driving all day. I wanted a clean, comfortable room, with air conditioning, at a reasonable price. That's what I got. Easy to find off interstate. And with a good restaurant on site, I got all I needed.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Dan from Edmonton in Canada ~ Loved your review and the fact that The Outlaw Inn met all your needs to keep you comfortable during your stay. Thank you for writing - knowing you are on a road trip and, from reading your note, sounds like you're logging a ton of miles every day. Glad you found your room "clean, comfortable" with the added bonus of "at a reasonable price." And thanks for mentioning the "easy" proximity of The Outlaw - junction of WY-191 (road to Yellowstone) just off I-80 - plus our "good restaurant on site" - The Open Range. "Good Stay in Rock Springs, WY"

30/06/2016

For a hotel that is close to a busy street, the rooms are surprisingly quiet. The heating and air conditioning work great and the beds are soft and the linens are clean. Can't ask for more than that :)

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Nina ~ traveling from Evanston: We appreciate your writing a note yesterday to let us know your thoughts following your stay at The Outlaw Inn. Glad you found "rooms surprisingly quiet" as we have kept that very point in mind - during recent renovations - by the planting of over 50 new trees around the building - many directly in front of the 33 drive-up, exterior rooms. Thanks also for mentioning the fact your heating and air-conditioning - a central system, with each room guest controlled - "worked great" and the fact you found the beds "soft" and your linens "clean." Our mission here at The Outlaw is to place guest comfort and happiness first among many goals. We do hope you'll return to stay with us next time you're in the High Desert of Wyoming. Until then…….We wish you the Safest of travels. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Great western theme in the hotel. Pool is in the center of the rooms--our son had the whole pool to himself. I really liked the setup of the room itself. Friendly staff--clean, easy to find off the interstate.

Dear Pearl from North Dakota ~ Thank you for taking time to send comments regarding your stay this week at The Outlaw. My entire staff is honored by your 5-Diamond Review and is very happy to know you enjoyed your stay and the Western touches throughout the Hotel and Open Range Restaurant. And glad to know your son liked swimming in our oversized pool - in close proximity to your room. Especially pleased you found our Super Staff "friendly" and our full-service property "clean, easy to find off the interstate." Your thoughts will be shared with the entire Team Outlaw - of which I am very proud for earning Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence. "Creaky Bed"

3
27/06/2016

The hotel staff was great. However, the mattress on our bed was older and more creaky than a haunted house. This hotel really needs to invest in some new mattresses. In addition, there is no ramp leading to the rooms on the lower level that are pool side. Carrying 2 heavy suitcases up and down stairs was no easy chore, although I guess I needed the exercise!

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Patrick from Littleton ~ Thank you for writing to share your experience following your stay last week at The Outlaw. Pleased you found the Staff here to be "great" as they always strive to take good care of each guest by giving top notch service. We're concerned, however, you found your bed to be a bit infirm and have alerted our housekeeping staff to check the bed(s) in the room you occupied. Next time you stop in, please allow a member of Team Outlaw to guide you to our new lift - a mere 50 feet from the Front Desk area - just off the Main Lobby - which will easily transport you, your family and your luggage to our lower level rooms and the award winning Open Range Restaurant. (Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence - along with The Outlaw Inn) And, if you need additional assistance, a member of Team Outlaw is always glad to help with carrying of bags. As a road traveler myself, I totally agree with your final statement regarding the transport of luggage - "no easy chore, although I guess I need the exercise!" Please do stop by again and we'll make sure you are comfortable and happy during your next stay. Until then………. Happy Trails to you and yours. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Good hotel not the best value for the price"

4
26/06/2016

This was maybe the third Best Western we had stayed at this month as we traveled about the Western US and I was taken aback when the price was so much higher than the others we had stayed at, with nothing added to make it worth more. Clean rooms with a nice bed, TV and cable channels, A/C and an ice machine.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Tom & Maria of Rio Vista ~ The note to share your experience at The Outlaw and Open Range Restaurant during your stay several days ago is appreciated. Glad you found your room "clean" with a "nice bed, TV and cable channels, A/C and an ice machine" - all important amenities to any selective traveler. The entire Outlaw Crew prides itself with making sure our guests are comfortable and happy in the hotel, our on-site Open Range Restaurant and in The Saloon. (All recipients of Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence Awards!) With regards to your comments concerning the room rates (which includes a free, waiter-served, hot breakfast in the O-R Restaurant for each hotel guest) - June through October are the busiest months of the year and our rates during those months are slightly higher - but much lower than hotels in and around Denver and Salt Lake City. We do hope your travels have been enjoyable and you'll become one of many repeat guests when you pass our way again. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Awesome Hotel"

23/06/2016

Traveling through and always pick a Best Western. We stayed at a total of 7 BW Hotels on our cross country trip. This was our favorite; over the top. Breakfast was served restaurant style; we picked from a menu and served. Delicious, great waiter, and tasted great. Room was clean, comfortable and had all the comforts we needed. I can't wait to go back and spend several days in Rock Springs and stay once again at this wonderful hotel.

"TREAT YOURSELF TO A NICE PLACE!!"

21/06/2016

We were greeted by the front desk clerk, Noah and he was excellent. Very friendly, professional and definitely knew his stuff about the hotel amenities. Our room was great, clean and comfortable. The layout of the hotel allowed us easy access to the very comfortable temperature of the indoor pool. It was clean and very nice. We had an INCREDIBLE Rib eye steak dinner at the restaurant, again, very close to our room. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!!

I didn't have a lot of contact with the hotel employees since I had a late arrival and early departure. The front desk employee was very courteous, helpful, and professional. The complimentary breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very good with excellent service. In fact, if I was looking for a place to eat their restaurant would be an excellent choice. They have a full menu selection with good food, service at reasonable prices. The room is a bit old but clean and everything was in working order.

This is a place I recommend to stay! From the front door upon entering to the exit next morning, the staff was wonderful. Full service room: fridge, wifi...all the needed items. 10/06/2016

Nice facility, better than average fitness room, nice pool, good rooms. I was a little concerned to have a room facing the pool, thinking it would be noisy, but we didn't hear a thing. The restaurant had very good food, but was understaffed. Wait staff was very courteous and attentive but way overworked leading to slow service.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Eric from Manhattan, Kansas ~ Thank you for writing - two days ago - to let me know of your 4-&-5-Star experience at The Outlaw Inn and The Open Range Restaurant. Glad you found our facilities (room and fitness room) here "nice" and your initial concerns with your room location near our large pool to be proved wrong by saying: "we didn't hear a thing". Pleased you found the food in The Open Range to be "very good" but concerned you experienced slow service. As owner and general manager, I do appreciate your relaying concerns (as well as your compliments) to me immediately and I have spoken with the Dining Room Manager this morning and given him a written copy of your note. We hope to be welcoming you and yours again as repeat guests - next time you pass through Rock Springs. Until that time…… wishing you safe and happy travels. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Excellent!"

The room, employees, restaurant & lounge were all beyond expectations. I left my IPhone in the room when we checked out. We were on vacation & on our way to Utah when Best Western called & informed me that they had my phone. They mailed it to me ASAP. I was so happy to have my phone back!!

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Judah from Lynnwood, Washington ~ We greatly appreciate your taking time from travels to write some very positive comments about your stay at the "Excellent!" Outlaw Inn. :) Glad you found "the room, employees, restaurant & lounge - all beyond expectations." And especially happy to know your phone arrived safely - and is in your possession - after retrieval by our excellent (and honest) Housekeeping Team member followed with speedy shipping service by our always efficient Front Desk Crew. The main goal here at The Outlaw is to bring comfort and happiness to all our guests ~ and I am proud to say the entire Outlaw Team has been rewarded with a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2015 for their attention to details connected to those goals. (Both the hotel and our on-site Open Range Restaurant received Certificates!) Hope your travels from Utah to Washington were safe and we all look forward to seeing you again next time you pass this way. Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Nice room but bedding smelled strongly of chlorine"

06/06/2016

We stopped here for one night on our way to Yellowstone and it was an okay place to break up the trip. We had a nice large room, ample parking, very clean. Breakfast in the morning was adequate and included, good coffee. The one negative I have to say is our bedding smelled strongly of chlorine, and it was hard to ignore. Other than that, I was satisfied with this property.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Travelwork from Thorton, Colorado ~ Thank you for taking time to write a review of The Outlaw while traveling to Yellowstone. Glad you found your room "nice and large" and the parking "ample" as well as our full-service property "very clean" - all three important to the comfort of our guests. Pleased also that the made-to-order, fresh-served breakfast in our on-site Open Range Restaurant was to your liking - especially the "good" coffee ~ key to the start of a travel day. With regard to the chlorine scent of your bedding - I have passed the information on to our Head of Housekeeping knowing she will give immediate attention to your report. Hoping you've enjoyed travels to Yellowstone National Park, which is marking its 144th year in 2016! Happy Trails, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

i enjoyed everything.breakfast was really good, i had cereal and apples. there is lots of parking for trucks in the back. If i am in the area again, i will definitely stay here. This place has a western theme which is fun.

Dear Alexandar from Newmarket ~ Thank you for writing a review of your stay at The Outlaw Inn last week! And Thanks! also for the Five-Bubbles. The entire Crew here is pleased to know you enjoyed your stay and summed it all up by saying: "nice place." Happy you found our made-to-order, waitstaff-served, fresh breakfast "really good" and the parking situation for your truck satisfactory. Especially glad to know you'll "definitely stay here" again as, in my estimation, repeat guests are the supreme compliment of The Outlaw Crew's efforts to make our customers comfortable and happy. Looking forward to seeing you again and hoping your travels have been both enjoyable and safe. Happy Trails to you and yours, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

I just spend 5 nights at the Outlaw Inn with a large group. The people at the Outlaw Inn are friendly and welcoming and responded to every request. The hotel provided great facilities for meetings, receptions, and group dinners. The center room is open and full of sunlight and has a great pool for relaxing. We were treated warmly and I would definitely go back!

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Amy from Chicago ~ Thank you for taking time to write and let other travelers know of your five-night-stay experience at The Outlaw Inn. Glad you found the Outlaw Crew "friendly and welcoming" throughout your group's stay here and you were happy with the meeting and event rooms as well as the pool/atrium area. The Outlaw Mission is to make sure our guests are happy and comfortable during their entire stay and we are always very pleased to know when guests plan to return. "At Home in Rock Springs"

30/05/2016

Very clean to the detail! Everyone from housekeeping to the owners were super friendly and inviting; I felt like I was at home during my stay. The food was very good and the indoor pool was nice with lot's of natural light from the many skylights. The gym would be sufficient for most people (cardio machine and cable station). The only thing I would recommend is an effort to greenify and reduce waste: options to reuse towels/sheets/toiletries. I will stay again at the Outlaw Inn on my return to Rock Springs.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Su from Toronto ~ Thank you for writing in to share thoughts on your recent stay at The Outlaw and very happy to know you "felt at home" during your time here. And especially pleased you plan to return to our full-service property when you're back in Southwest Wyoming! Glad you found the food (created by the Open Range Kitchen Crew in our Scratch Kitchen) to be "very good" and also happy to know you enjoyed the pool. Your comments concerning efforts to "greenify" the entire property are well taken; currently we have a guest room policy for reuse of sheets and towels for guests staying longer than one night and we've just ordered new garbage receptacles for the property t insure that glass, plastics and paper will be separated from other trash. We are committed to the environment and creating a cleaner and more healthy World. We look forward to seeing you again, sometime soon. Hope all your travels are Safe & Happy. Mark D. "Consistent Quality in Rock Springs"

30/05/2016

I've stayed at the Outlaw Inn several times on business trips in the Rock Springs area. I've been impressed by the consistent quality of service and the friendly staff. The bar is a good place to eat dinner when I don't feel like going out to the mostly mediocre restaurants in Rock Springs, and the free, full service breakfast is a great deal. The only drawback for me is the small workout room. Overall, the hotel is unassuming, comfortable, and a good deal.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Phillip from Boulder ~ Thank you for writing a note to Trip Advisor to share your Outlaw Inn experience with other travelers. As one of our many valued, repeat guests we are pleased to know you are impressed by the "consistent quality of service and the friendly staff" as that is of prime importance to our mission here in both the hotel and The Open Range Restaurant. Speaking of the Open Range ~ glad to know you found your made-to-order, hot and waitstaff served breakfast to be a "great deal." And happy also you found your overall experience here to be "comfortable and a good deal." I am very proud of the entire Outlaw Crew and their efforts have been officially recognized by Trip Advisor (both hotel and restaurant!) as Certificate of Excellence Award Winners 2015. Quite an achievement for a full-service property and one they strive each day to live up to. We look forward to your next visit. Until then…….Happy & Safe Trails. Mark D. "Middle of the range Best Western"

25/05/2016

Property is older; has stairs everywhere (to rooms, restaurant, etc.) and no elevator; food choices for breakfast in restaurant are a great idea (much better than the 'free' breakfast ordinarily offered at Best Western properties). The internet is painfully slow.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Hello James and thank you for writing a review about your stay at The Outlaw Inn and your dining experience in our Open Range Restaurant. With regard to your comment of "no elevator" ~ Not sure if you noticed the newly installed oversized lift - just off the Main Lobby and near the Open Range entrance and 35 of our 100 rooms. Next time you stop in, please notify the front desk personnel of your wish to skip the 7 steps to your room/restaurant and they will assist with the lift and your luggage. Glad you enjoyed your free breakfast (selected items cooked-to-order by our amazing Kitchen Crew and served by our attentive Wait Staff) in the Open Range Restaurant - located under the same roof as the hotel and The Saloon. We are quite proud of the fact both The Outlaw and The Open Range Restaurant received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015 - a real tribute to the Outlaw Team and our custom, mid-century designed building - most of which (both interior and exterior) has undergone extensive "renewal" in the past 6 years. We do hope you'll stop in again next time you're down from Meridian. Until then….. wishing you Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Great place to stay in Wyoming!"

25/05/2016

We stay here at least 4 or 5 times a year when we take a road trip from Washington state to Colorado and back. It is always very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable! One of our favorite things is the indoor pool, it is so inviting and we use it every time we stay. They also have a free full restaurant breakfast which is the best, lots of choices and great wait staff. On Tuesday and Thursday they have free drinks and snacks in the bar/lounge on site. Our favorite employee is Peggy G. who is an outstanding waitress and bartender. The manager Mark and the front desk staff are very pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend.

Dear Marilyn from Washington ~ We all (including the entire Outlaw Crew!) appreciate your taking time to write about your multiple stays at The Outlaw. Glad you like our "very clean and extremely comfortable" beds, as well as our indoor pool. Also pleased you enjoy the free, made-to-order and freshly cooked breakfast in the Open Range Restaurant along with the Managers Reception for all our guests, which is organized by Peggy. Thanks also for your "Highly recommend" comment at the conclusion of your review! Needless to say, we look forward to your next visit to The Outlaw and wish you Safe & Happy Travels. Mark D. I been staying hear for the past 5 years . This is always well managed and owned. A stay at this hotel is one you can say they get it. They understand the traveler as a family or business needs. You should get credit for a job well done. Thanks a traveler that enjoys a good night stay.

You won't go wrong at the Outlaw Inn. The price is very reasonable. The rooms are comfortable and inviting. The restaurant and bar great! When I travel to Rock Springs, I always stay at the Outlaw Inn. The staff and management go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay.

As one of our many valued (and repeat :) guests ~ The entire Crew is very glad to know their efforts are appreciated - making sure you always have "a wonderful stay." Thanks also for mentioning our "reasonable" prices as it's our mission to keep our rates reasonable and our guests happy. As you well know ~ The Outlaw Inn is not just another Big Box Hotel with the custom (one-of-a kind) mid-century designed building housing a full-service hotel, restaurant and saloon all under one roof. (and - all under one ownership) And we're quite proud to say we're one of the few full-service hotels in Wyoming (and the only in Southern Wyoming) to receive the coveted Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015 for both The Outlaw Inn & The Open Range Restaurant. "Pretty darn good"

20/05/2016

Overall a solid hotel. It's nothing fancy, but definitely does a great job at the basics: a clean room (including the bathroom), free parking, and a hot breakfast. The layout of the hotel is a little wonky, but there are signs pointing you in the right direction. The breakfast with the little papers you order on are a bit strange, but it all works out. It gives you lots of good food and the servers are all really nice. The front desk staff was super friendly. I would definitely stay here again

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Valued Guest from Virginia ~ Thank you Erin for taking time from your road trip to send in a note yesterday about your stay at The Outlaw Inn. We are very happy to know you rate our full-service, award winning property with a Five-Star Review based on the "clean room - including bathroom, free parking and free, hot breakfast." Glad you found our food "good," the servers "really nice" and the front desk staff "super friendly." The main goal of both The Outlaw Inn and The Open Range Restaurant is to take good care of each guest to ensure they walk out the door happy (and well rested!) the following morning. Am proud to say ~ The Outlaw Team and The Open Range Restaurant Crew both received the Certificate of Excellence in 2015 from Trip Advisor. It goes without saying, we all hope to see you again when travels bring you our way. Until then……. Happy Trails. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Wyoming Outlaw"

15/05/2016

First time visit to this BW. It is a very old motel but still worthy of a visit. Just wished that it had been a bit easier to get up onto the 2nd floor. Replacing the back steps with a ramp and providing luggage carts would make a huge improvement. Also, as many old motel/hotels are finding out....there is not enough electrical sockets in rooms for all of today's devices. I was surprised that the breakfast serving was a satisfactory size and it was very good as well. I do think the rooms are priced a bit too high.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear David from Gresham ~ Thank you for taking time to write yesterday to let us know about your first visit to The Outlaw. Your 4.5 rating (Including perfect scores for cleanliness, service, location and sleep quality!) is appreciated and I'll be sure to let the entire Crew know they've, once again, earned high marks from a valued guest. :) Sounds like you were glad you stopped in to stay at our mid-century designed (full service - all under one large roof) property where we've been working to "refresh" the entire building over the past five years. The results of our renovations, along with the efforts of our Crew, has resulted in the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award for both The Outlaw Inn and the Open Range Restaurant - which is quite rare for a full-service property. Will be sure to pass on your concern about the "electrical sockets" to our maintenance department, as we've been adding outlets all around the building these past few years - including all 100 guest rooms. Additionally, not sure you were made aware - as a part of our building-wide renovations - a lift has been added just off the lobby area to accommodate those who are unable to make the six steps to the second level rooms. Perhaps, next visit, you might request one of our 33 curbside or 30 lower-level (same level as the Open Range Restaurant) rooms to accommodate your needs. Pleased that you found the serving size "satisfactory" and called your made-to-order, free breakfast in the Open Range Restaurant "very good." We'll look forward to welcoming you back to The Outlaw next time you're in our corner of Wyoming. Until then, Safe and Happy Travels to you and yours. Best regards, Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

"Kind of a strange place"

3
12/05/2016

Judging by the other reviews, we thought this would be a fine place to stay. It was a little weird. The decor is dated. The layout is crazy. The room was OK I guess, seemed clean. The bathroom looked like it might have been recently updated, very clean and nice. The furniture seemed old, which is not a big deal, except for the little desk by the bathroom with a huge new black office desk chair that the arms wouldn't fit under the desk so it stuck out and blocked the doorway. That was weird. The ceiling looked like pressed spaghetti, kind of creepy and looked like it needed a few more coats of paint. The whole place smelled like swimming pool. I don't think I would stay here again, but all things considered it was not bad. Oh, the free breakfast may or may not have been strange, they give you a piece of paper with some breakfast choices on it (you may have one of these, choose any three of these, don't forget to tip the server) and I guess you go in their little restaurant or whatever it is...? We skipped it and went to Mickey D's.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Valued Guest from Denver ~ Thank you for writing yesterday to let us know your thoughts about The Outlaw. We appreciate your Four-Star posting of: the location; the cleanliness; and, most especially - the service. Glad you stopped to stay after reading several of our Five-Star reviews of the award-winning full-service property of which we are very proud. (Note: Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for both The Outlaw & The Open Range Restaurant in 2015!) Pleased also to read your thoughtful conclusion of "all things considered - it was not bad" as we would not be happy if any valued customer felt any differently. Unfortunately, for some reason - you chose to skip your free, made-to-order breakfast (served by our outstanding Waiters and prepared by our amazing Kitchen Crew) in the Open Range Restaurant - considered by many locals and travelers alike to be an unmatched breakfast experience. We do hope you stop in again - sometime soon - when traveling through Rock Springs. Until then…… Safe and Happy Travels to you and your family. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Kevin at the front desk was awesome at check-in! Our room was very nice ..it was clean, the bed was comfortable [king size] and breakfast was good - you only got to choose 3 items from menu but my husband and I each chose different items and then shared so it was great for us and we liked the food served fresh to our table.

Dear Linda from Savannah ~ Thank you for writing yesterday to say - "Would definitely stay here again" ~ the greatest compliment our full-service Outlaw Inn can receive! Thanks also for letting me know you experienced an "awesome" check-in (Kevin loves to help our guests :) and found your room "very nice - clean" with a "comfortable bed." Glad you liked your fresh, made-to-order breakfast in the Open Range Restaurant as well. "Amazing Decor and People"

5
20/04/2016

I have never stayed in a remodeled property that has been done so well in all ways. You know how it is...they take an older property and cover up the old stuff with a little decor and call it good. This is the first time I've stayed in such a place and believe it's BETTER than it used to be. Nothing is half-hearted. The decor is spot on, classy and delightful (cowboy theme). Everything worked just right. Most of all, I am impressed with the people here, from the caring and genuine desk clerk (Betty and another young woman) to the servers in the restaurant. In particular, one young person who knew I was here because my truck broke down on the way home from California...bought my dinner for me. These people don't seem as though they are here because they have to work. Kudos to management for making this possible. Whatever you are doing. Keep doing it. I'll be bragging about this place to everyone I know. I can't thank you enough for transforming a tough situation into a pleasure.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Kindra from Lincoln ~ Thank you for taking time to write in - especially in light of the fact you stayed at The Outlaw due to a breakdown of your truck - to let us know about your stay this past week. Thanks also for honoring our property and Team with a five-star award. The entire staff will be excited to know their hard work was noticed by a valued guest. Equally pleased to know you appreciate our "caring and genuine" Front Desk Staff (Betty is legend for taking good care of our guests.) as well as our Open Range Restaurant servers. We do pride ourselves in being a community of workers striving to make our guests both comfortable and happy. And thanks for mentioning the appearance of The Outlaw as we've been working over the past 7 years to improve our mid-century designed building - adding a Western Theme here and there - just enough to remind our guests they are in Wyoming. Needless to say ~ We are pleased your stay went well and look forward to seeing you again sometime soon. Until then…….. Happy Trails to you and yours. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

28/03/2016

Rock Springs was a good stopping point but most of the hotels didn't have the best reviews...we picked The Outlaw Inn based on its TripAdvisor reviews...this was the cleanest room ever. The room was small but the bed was comfortable and the shower worked great. There isn't much at this exit off of I-80, some gas stations and a few places to eat.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Mr. Buck ~ We appreciate your posting a note on Trip Advisor to inform other travelers of your recent stay at The Outlaw. The housekeeping staff will be pleased to know your room assessment of "the cleanest room ever" and I'll let the maintenance crew know your "shower worked great." Both teams work hard each day to keep our guests comfortable and happy. We all look forward to the next time you pull off of I-80 when traveling through from Illinois. Until then…….. Happy Trails. 23/03/2016

We stayed at this hotel as we passed through town. Arrived around 11:00 pm. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The set up of the hotel is odd, & decor is of an old western type theme. But to me cleanliness is most important and it was spotless! Free breakfast, but you go to the restaurant and they cook it fresh based off a checklist they hand out at check in. Very filling considering you only get a few choices. I would stay here again if I were to ever pass through town again. Fyi, booked through priceline...hotel will not match Internet (priceline) prices at check in so they told me to go ahead and book on priceline.

bwoutlaw, Owner at BEST WESTERN Outlaw Inn, responded to this review
Dear Travelingduo from North Dakota ~ So happy you took time to post your thoughts on Trip Advisor after staying with us. And very glad to hear that you were greeted by a "very helpful and friendly" staff member at 11 p.m.! Thanks also for your positive observations of our "spotless" rooms and the "very filling" free breakfast in our on-site Open Range Restaurant. I'll be sure to pass your note on to our entire Staff as they work around-the-clock to ensure our guests enjoy their stay - from check-in to check-out. Pleased to hear you plan to stay with us again when you're down this way. Until then ~ Safe and Happy Travels to you and yours. Mark D. Anselmi Owner & General Manager

Friendly staff and an excellent restaurant in Rock Springs. Make sure to try the Prime Rib!! The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. The room rates are competitive and in my opinion the value for the price of the room is excellent. This hotel is a gem in Rock Springs WY.. I have stayed at other properties in Rock Springs in the past. Since staying at the Best Western first time 2 years ago it is the hotel of choice for me in Rock Springs. I travel extensively and am in hotels almost every week of the year. It is important to me to have a good nights rest. I always rest well at this property.

We stayed here for the state spelling bee. They charged my card two times for the stay. We went and showed the front desk where it was charged two times. They said they didn't charge my card twice and that I need to call the bank. They refused to make it right. We were supposed to stay two nights, but after they refused to make it right we asked if we could have our second night refunded and we would just check out instead of staying again. The president of the best western then had us escorted to our room to clear out our things. Never have I been mad feel like it was my fault when a business makes a mistake. We were looking to stay for one quick night in a comfortable bed with clean rooms, and that is exactly what we found with the Best Western Outlaw Inn. The place was spotless, and the bed was super comfortable. Everything was in good repair as well. I would love to have seen it when it was new. Now it just looks like it has been there for several years. But a new appearance is pretty low on my priorities when compared to cleanliness and comfort.

I expected a room for $!00.00 + to be more spacious and up to date. Room was drafty and the quilt on the bed was very heavy. No spare linens to replace heavy quilt were available. Room was so small that I had to straddle the commode to close the bathroom door. I am only 5'9" and 180 lbs.

Fifteen years since my last visit and just as great. This place has character. Everything was clean except the hard to reach dusty places and under the bed. Even under the rim of the toilet was clean. The pool has a nice two feet deep area with five feet at the other end. Water surface temperature was 80° Fahrenheit at 4p.m. with the air at 70°. Both dropped by three degrees by the time we swam again at eight. The bed was comfortable at first but left me with a sore back by morning. Breakfast was huge. Biscuits and cinnamon roll were a bit dense.

Great staff. Friendly & very helpful. Room was great, except for the little pebbles on the carpet between the beds. Beds were comfy.. Shower was great.. Cold floors in the bathroom but other than that, it was a great room. Continental breakfast was made to order & delicious!!

My husband and I decided to miss the Valentine's Day crowd and celebrate the night before at the outlaw's restaurant. We both ordered the delicious prime rib and a bottle of wine. The wine was such a good price we almost bought two bottles! Our server Bradley gave the absolute best service we have received and he made this years Valentine's very special for us. We highly recommend stopping here to enjoy the prime rib special.

A great place to stay! It has all you need - a friendly Staff, Restaurant, clean & comfortable rooms, plenty of parking, and great TV channel choices! It is located close to I-80 and if by chance, you "need" a different restaurant, there are plenty within a short walk or drive.

"Welcome refuge after a long days drive!"

Outlaw Inn is the best place to stay when making the grueling I-80 marathon. There was spacious parking for our 50-foot trailer combo. The front desk staff was impressive in seeing to our needs (and quieting the drunks around the pool at 11 PM). The room was adequate (standard B/W). The free, from-the-menu breakfast was great. A different front desk staffer was extremely helpful when it appeared that our rental truck had died, and we might be stuck there for a day, or more. Highly recommended, on all counts!

We made our reservations with Virginia before we left Kearney, Nebraska and she was quite pleasant to talk with and just as nice when we got to the hotel. And with the weather at 1' we figured that it would be great to stay at the Outlaw Inn again as we could stay inside the building and walk to dinner and breakfast! Room is spacious and neat and clean and I love the western decor. Meals were good and the made to order, and free breakfast, was excellent. Dinner I think was a little overpriced. The salad should be crisp and cold with no brown lettuce and the entree should not be served while the diner is still eating soup and salad. But, in the long scheme of things, that wasn't that bad! With the Palomino Inn in Grand Junction at $57 and free breakfast and this at $120 and free breakfast.....only the size of the room was different. BWs do get a bit pricey.

"Fun western details, open areas"

Stopped here in a blizzard and was pleasantly surprised. Comfortable beds, attractive decor and fun western details in the rooms. Large open meeting areas. Pool newly remodeled. This would be a great place for younger children. Very happy with breakfast. Custom made hot breakfast with wait staff at tables. My husband loved the large cinnamon roll. Only down side: rooms were pretty dark. More lamps or higher wattage bulbs would help.

We stayed overnight at the Outlaw Inn and found the facilities good, clean, and more than adequate for our needs. The room was large and the bathroom well appointed. Reading the history of local outlaws at the dinning table in the evening was a highlight. The Inn is easily found and there is ample parking.

I found this room very clean and there was everything I needed. I only encountered one person..the desk person. I did not get her name. She was helpful with check in. She was able to provide me with a discount which was very nice.

We arrived to what seemed like it might be a dud of a hotel. Checked in and had rooms poolside so the children could swim and we could watch from hotel rooms. We had an excellent dinner then a made to order breakfast. Everything about this stay was awesome.

I was surprised at how the inside and outside appearance are so different. The interior is updated and extremely comfortable. Restaurant was pretty good but I personally wish it wasn't so uptight and offered a more laid back environment for our small family. I would absolutely stay here again. Perfect retreat from a long day of traveling. Book on Priceline though. We saved quite a bit that way.

We've been here twice and love it. Great specials in the bar, friendly staff, clean rooms. Close to restaurants and shopping. On site restaurant/bar are great. Easy to get to - right off the interstate. We were there when roads were closed and staff had an ipad at the front desk so we could check road conditions.

Exceptional Counter and Restaurant staff, friendly, accommodating and congenial. Clean throughout, very much like the lay out. Easy access from I-80. Have an eatery within the facility and a three minute walk of the room was very convenient. Both meals were very good.

Our company chose to have our company Christmas party at the Outlaw Inn and it was a great decision! Hotel accommodations were available at a great price and the catered dinner was top notch! Highly recommend trying the Open Range restaurant! Rooms were very clean and very comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and very inviting! Definitely will be back for personal stays! ??????????

My Boyfriend and I stayed here in September on our US Road Trip. After camping, it was the most pleasant surprise. We had a newly renovated room that was clean and comfy. The staff was very welcoming and got me to sign up for the rewards program. Best of all, we ate in the hotel restaurant and had some of the best service I've ever had! We ate like kings and were treated just so. This hotel made me a fan of Best Westerns. I just wish I remembered our servers name! Loved the theme, hopefully will be back someday!

We stayed at The Outlaw the night before an early flight out of Rock Springs. We were tired from the drive and were grateful to find a clean and comfortable room waiting for us, as well as a nice restaurant and true western style bar on site. We saw some live music in the saloon, treated ourselves to a steak dinner, and slept soundly. The staff had even prepared grab-and-go breakfast bags for us since we had to leave the hotel at 5am. We will definitely stay here again when we fly out of Rock Springs!

After driving all day from Deadwood, Sweetheart and me wanted a nice place to stay. We found that at Outlaws. We wanted a king room and we got it. (Not that there was any trouble. None at all.) The desk person was friendly and answered every one of my questions. Our room was real nice and appointed well. ( Better than some of the places we stayed that cost MORE.) The entire motel seems to be able to handle a nice sized convention or would readily be able to accommodate a wedding. Both complete with food, servers, etc. Way to go Outlaw's and Thanks for not holdin' us up.

The best Western being reviewed , is one that has outstanding service and support. I know it doesn't look like much from the outside but on the inside it has a strong western feeling and I like that. Being a rewards member helped me save some money on my stay, so you might want to take advantage of the savings as well. But as far my stay I liked it there, my room was an outdoor room so it took a little time to get it warm but it got right over time. The bathroom was nice and clean I had a excellent shower. All the amenities in the room were above average. I also came with fridge and microwave for your convenience. I also had a flat screen tv and plenty of channels. The bed had clean sheets and pillowcases, big fluffy pillows, and soft comfortable beds. You will sleep like a baby. The breakfast I had was excellent nice selection and it all taste good. So next I'm in the area I will be going back. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would be needing a stay. Safe travels. Where's Wooster?

This is, bar none, the most well-kept, well-managed, friendly, clean and comfortable motel I've ever had the pleasure to stay in. I have now spent a total of seven nights there divided between two trips to Rock Springs this year. My room was impeccable, and the maids kept it that way. I was spending my days out trudging around and photographing the nearby Red Desert, and was always pleased to get back to the motel: it really felt as comfortable as home! Everyone employed at the motel, including all the wait staff in their restaurant, were incredibly friendly, and always went out of their way to accommodate my needs. The owner himself, Mark Anselmi, took time from his busy schedule to pull out maps and books to show me directions for reaching the rather obscure points I wanted to visit. I highly recommend the Outlaw Inn. I look forward to staying there yet again next spring.

I was very happy with everything except having to use stairs, they do have a "lift" if you need it. Loved the food in the little restaurant, best fish I've had in a long time. There is a lot to see in this area, I wish I would have had more time to sight see.

My family and I always stay at the Best Western Outlaw when traveling to Rock Springs. This hotel is always clean & quiet, the staff is courteous and helpful, and the breakfast is wonderful. If you need to leave early, the staff will prepare a sack breakfast for you, which is nice when traveling in the early hours of the day.

We have probably stayed here at least 20 times, on the way to and from Yellowstone, and we have always enjoyed it. The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff are friendly and competent, and the free full breakfast in the restaurant can't be beat. One thing I noticed on this trip moderates my enthusiasm, however...they have recently redecorated the rooms and the wonderful wing armchairs have been replaced with hellishly uncomfortable barrel chairs with a faux snakeskin ottoman that can't be used because the chair lacks the back support that one would need to stretch out one's legs. Unfortunately these will probably be there forever, as they will never get worn out because no one can stand sitting there. Other than that, a great place to stay.

Great place, nice clean rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful and check in was a breeze. The cook to order breakfast in the morning was a great improvement over the Holiday Inn generic breakfasts. Easy off the interstate and easy on, gas station next door. Rooms in the back were very quiet and it was a nice night.

I stayed here one night on my way to Grand Teton. Front desk staff was friendly and check-in was fast and easy. Room was on front side facing Elk Street. Was able to park right outside my room. Could hear street traffic during the day , but it was much quieter at night. Room was clean and well organized. Nice tv, desk, chair & ottoman, fridge, coffeemaker. Shower seemed new or very well-taken care of. Loved the new faucet and shower head. Decided to try the restaurant at the hotel, Open Range. Received excellent service, fast delivery of drinks and food by good wait staff - friendly but not annoying. Would stay here again.

"Great location off the Interstate with plenty of gas stations and resturants nearby."

We stayed here for one night and found it interesting. Friendly staff and very clean establishment. We had an outside room on the back side, which insured it was very quiet. We were able to park our car about three feet from the door to our room so it was easy to unload and carry our bags into the room. The area was well lighted so it felt secure too. The room was very nice and clean. It was well appointed with everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and there was a nice chair and ottoman to relax in too. The wi-fi was good enough that we were able to FaceTime with our daughter and family. We did a trip advisor check for restaurants in the area and found that the one in the hotel had excellent reviews. We went there and the food and service was very good. I will do a separate review on the resturant. There is a huge open inner area that is used for conventions and we believe relaxing at the indoor pool during the winter. The inside rooms all face the two divided open areas. There was cold water available at the desk during the day and plenty of coffee in the morning. The breakfast was at the restaurant and was very good. You are given a slip listing the various items available for breakfast and you mark off what you would like and hand it to your server. It actually worked very well. Check out was a breeze and within a couple of minutes we were back on I-80.

Virginia set us up with a room next to each other for my 90 year old uncle and us. She couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful. Newly remodeled and such friendly people! Parking is great easy access great location. Reservations were extremely easy. The area is pretty central to different cites and Green River.

Room was fine, on site restaurant was fine, pool in the middle of the hotel not fine, very noisy, sound carries terribly, don't get a room anywhere near the pool. You have to walk thru the conference area to get to most rooms. No carts, didn't see any elevators. Ok, but for OK, expensive.

We have stayed at this facility a few times and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have an indoor pool that is very handy for parents to watch their children. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The restaurant is where the breakfast is served and you get your choice of a very full menu that you fill out before hand. We would highly recommend this facility.

This motel really has the feel of Williston, ND. as much of the cliental was of the younger male working class who reminded me of outlaws. I would suggest getting a room on the inside were there is no outside doorways. The parking by the outside row of rooms tends to be a tailgate party area.

I spend close to 100 nights/year in hotel rooms around the country. My stay at the Outlaw Best Western in Rock Springs with my family was exceptional. We arrived late and were greeted with a friendly smile. Our room was clean and the kids really enjoyed the pool. Free breakfast was great and again, the staff was extremely professional and courteous. I stay here whenever I can and have always had a very a very positive experience.

We were tired and needed a room for the night and when we got off of the freeway we happened upon the Outlaw Inn and we are so happy we did! Virginia at the front desk cheerfully greeted me and got me a room with no hassle what so ever, while this is the way it should always be my experiences are often otherwise. She was delightful. The room was clean and comfortable which in the end is all that matters. We had dinner in the restaurant that night and it too was very good. Our waitress Tracy was terrific and turned me on to a new beer which I thoroughly enjoyed, she instantly became a friend for life. Her service was terrific and the food was well prepared, hot and tasty, just what we needed after a long day on the road. In the morning we found ourselves back at the same location in the hotel for breakfast. They have a menu of hot and cold breakfast foods that they cook to order (eggs, bacon, sausage, hot and cold cereals etc., juice and coffee) and it is part of the nightly rate. We sat down a waitress took our order and the food arrived fresh and hot a few minutes later. Nothing like what most of us are used to where breakfast consists of microwave sausage sandwiches, bizarre make it yourself waffles and pre-cooked eggs which are already dry by the time you serve yourself. Amazing. Upon check-out, Kelly at the front desk was on par with Virginia who checked us in, friendly and proficient. Overall, I cannot say enough about the Outlaw Inn, it was a gem in the middle of Wyoming.

This was a uniquely set up hotel. Rooms were very clean and comfortable but was lacking electrical plug-ins for charging of cell phone and computer. The breakfast was very good. Serviced in a restaurant like setting and food cooked fresh. Enjoyed that after having basically same food offerings at several previous hotels. Friendly staff. Enjoyed happy hour in the lounge after check-in.

This Best Western was a great place to crash and relax after a 500 mile drive through Nebraska and Wyoming. My wife wishes that there had been a hot tub, our only noted negative comment about the establishment. Great personal service from the front desk to assist in moving luggahe up the 8 steps to our room.
