Resumen de la reserva
The staff were great, at the front desk and in the lounge. Clean rooms. We stayed twice a week apart and the young ladies at the front desk remembered who we were. The food in the lounge was awesome. If we come through again no doubt we will stay there. We didn't have reservations but were given a room each, late in the evening. Would absolutely recommend.
We stopped in Rawlings last minute for a quick rest before our final destination and we're extremely pleased to find an amazing comfort motel at a reasonable price that we were able to bring our pets to. The room was clean and inviting and exactly what we needed for the few hours we were there. Thank you so much for the much needed respite. We'll definitely be staying at Best Western from now on. Thank you so much. 😊
I stay here every other week for work. I am almost always greeted by my name. The front desk personnel are friendly and kind. The rooms are always clean and in good working order. Thank you for all you do to make my stay comfortable. I don't understand why I have to write 200 words.
We were pleased with everything. The rooms are very roomy, and everything was sparkling and clean. The pillows and bedding were great. Everyone was friendly. The breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel. There was a wonderful variety, and everything tasted great.
The room was very comfortable and staff was very friendly and helpful!!! The guy running the breakfast was very awesome!!! He definitely put a smile on everyone's face with his upbeat attitude and friendless!!! Definitely makes your morning!
ROOMS: Large and clean, decently appointed. The place feels like it has undergone a recent refurb. Some odd accents and architectural design, esp. around the entrance atriums (like #9). MEALS: The breakfast was fine, but everything was kind of offputtingly packaged -- I had oatmeal (from a pot, which was fine), but raisins were in boxes and brown sugar servings were in pre-packaged paper. Felt ... off-putting. SERVICE: Very friendly at the front desk. On the other hand, they were also short of rooms due to housekeeping not being done with the ground floor (at 4 pm on a Saturday). LOCATION: On the plus side, just off I-80, so very convenient. Plenty of places to eat nearby (I recommend Ichiban just down the street). On the down side, we were just off the main drag through town (Spruce), so a fair amount of traffic. Overall, I'd stay here again if passing through.
The surrounding areas seem a bit distressed and could be worry some. Very limited choice of restaurants to eat at. The hotel itself was very clean, staff was friendly, rooms are large and very comfortable. Tons of pillows on each bed. Very quiet environment.
Very kind & professional staff. The room was cool, and clean, and well stocked with the things that are needed for a hotel room. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of fluffy pillows and it was quiet. Breakfast was pretty good and I liked the hours of service. They served from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Those hours made it really good for us because we had come in really late that night and was able to sleep in a little bit and still be able to make it for breakfast.
The folks at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful both at check in and out. The facility was very clean and nicely decorated. The room was a pet friendly room without carpeting. That is our favorite as we travel with four large dogs and carpeting can get yucky in pet rooms. Breakfast was a good selection and tastefully served. My only wish was that the coffee was hotter. We unfortunately forgot something of importance in the room and didn't realize it until we were almost to Salt Lake City. We called the hotel and the person at the front desk was incredibly helpful with assisting us with our forgotten item. Definitely a property we will stay at if we are in the area again.
Very clean room with the staff being so friendly and willing to help with anything you need! The hot breakfast is one of the best we've had! Freeway access is very easy. If we are ever up that way we will definitely be staying here again! We were very impressed!
Bathrooms are tiny. Towels are old. They have tried to renovate the rooms, but they've just painted over whatever was there and it is showing through. tile coming off the bathroom, baseboards, and lifting up places. Didn't do a renovation they just tried to put old over new. There was a weird smell like possibly it had been a smoking room, but they just painted over top of the smoke smell. Take your own toiletries. If you do go, the shampoo is the worst I've ever used. And the bottles are so tiny therefore one use.
Great Stay! Great Breakfast! Clean Rooms! Breakfast guy was hilarious! He was cracking jokes with all the guests! .................................................. ..aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Great remodeled hotel that was very clean and very friendly staff! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful getting us connected rooms. Restaurant had great food as well as the bartender/ server was very friendly. We will definitely be back!
Best breakfast ever at a hotel and the host was a funny and kind fellow… The room was extremely clean and fresh in the shower was the best with the most pressure. I really liked my experience and I would recommend it highly to friends. Also, the bar was really nice and had good food for dinner as well.
Very clean, specially the hot tub which we require upon traveling. Room was very clean and there is a bar and grill attached. Good food and cocktails. We stayed at this hotel many many years ago. It has been maintained very well. Glad to enjoy it once again.
The lobby was beautiful. Staff were so accommodating, friendly and personable. We were on the first floor and we could park literally in front of the door where our rooms were. This was so convenient since my husband, who is scheduled for back surgery soon, can only walk short distances. The breakfast was amazing. Hot and cold foods and a great variety. There is a restaurant within the hotel. It was just a very big menu, but had all you needed and the food was very good. The rooms were very spacious and very clean. The beds very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed here on a trip to see family in Washington and California, and this was a wonderful experience. The man that works in the breakfast room is very very nice, he works good with kids and is sweet. The front desk staff is very nice. Very good seafood place called Ichiban very close. The pool is a good size, the hot tub has jets which is nice. Very fun experience, great place to stop.
One of the best Best Westerns we've stayed at! And we've stayed at Best Westerns across the country. Staff was awesome! Food was very good at the bar. Room was comfortable! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel
A group of us traveling to Yellowstone. Our horses at the Fairgrounds and we stayed close, friendly staff, good breakfast. Bartendar very helpful and friendly.
The town of Rawlins was so cute. The hotel was not far from the freeway at all and easy to find with plenty of close parking spots. The staff at the front desk were so nice and helpful. Our room was clean and fresh. We slept well and felt safe. The pool looked so inviting, but we didn't have time to swim as we were just passing through on our way to Denver. The gentleman who was serving breakfast was so gelpful and nice. He made our morning enjoyable. We really enjoyed our stay.
The staff was friendly making us feel at home. The room was the best, clean to perfection, bathroom spotless, walk in shower a great experience, and the bedding, bed, and pillows made it easy to be comfortable. We will definitely book another stay at this Best Western Property.
Room was clean every employee was so nice and friendly I loved the breakfast great variety the room was great could use a new chair and the fan in the bathroom didn't work others than that everything was great and we enjoyed our stay will be back in the Future.
Beautiful property. This facility looks and feels brand new. Spacious with great dining area, a full restaurant and bar on site The rooms were large and well apportioned. Beds were very comfortable. We also had the benefit of a room that had both a door to the hallway and a separate door that opened to the parking area
Beds were comfortable room was clean. Hotel was very busy but we didn't hear anyone else. Bonus was the on site restaurant. We got burgers they were great. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. Staff at hotel and restaurant were so friendly and nice. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I and our 2 small dogs stayed at the hotel. This is our 2nd time. We had such a great experience we traveled 13hrs on our first 24 hrs of driving. Just to stay there. We love this motel. Excellent customer service. The rooms are great,Clean, beds and pillows are comfy, showers heads ate custom, dark rooms, great breakfast with a gentleman who takes pride in serving it. And it is the best out of any that we have stayed at. A real breakfast with bacon, omelets, hashbrowns, fruit pastries and more... you name it. And it's fresh.
Price was reasonable. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Parking was adequate to park my trailer. Staff was very friendly. Complementary breakfast was good. Coffee was hot and tasty with a good assortment of creamers. Our future stays in Rawlins will be at the best Western.
For the area, this is a nice hotel. The staff were very welcoming and made me feel valued. They recognized me as a member of Best Western's point organization and have me two waters join check in.
We found this hotel on a cross country vacation it was a quick decision. The hotel and room was very clean. The staff was friendly and courteous. Breakfast was very good. The gentleman in charge of the breakfast was an added highlight. He was funny, very helpful and friendly. I don't every recall staying in a Best Western. After this stay I booked another stay in a Best Western for the next night in a different town. I hope it is as good as this one. One thing I will mention there wasn't an elevator. It was a minor inconvience for my wife and I since it was only 2 stories. However that could be an issue for others. REALLY ENJOYED THE STAY.
Check-in was fast and easy rooms were very comfortable and super clean. Breakfast was convenient and good, next time I'd like to try the restaurant!
Staff was all super nice. Breakfast was great. Restaurant was good and the staff there was also super friendly. I never tried the pool or hot tub but it looked nice. The beds were comfy. It's in a relatively quiet location. You can get to about anywhere in town within 10 min.
Clean, friendly, spacious rooms, best indoor hot tub and pool too. Great location with lots of parking and the breakfast was good. The enclosure around each door was privacy style! The hot water and shower were perfect. I really like the bedding they are using now!
It was so nice to get the room at 4 am Thursday due to the road closures, and not having to check out until Friday. The breakfast was good, with a lot of choices. The only complaint is that our room key would not work on the outside door by our room. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
The bartender was so helpful, and he and all the staff we came across were very polite and friendly. The cookies we received upon checking in were warm and delicious. The room was quiet, and our stay was peaceful. We just wish there had been an elevator. It was a little difficult to haul luggage up stairs.
This hotel is huge! No idea how big until we were walking to the lounge restaurant up front. The food was awesome, the staff working were friendly! Loved the fact that we were at the back of the Inn and we had an outside door and a door that opened to the inside. It was nice not have to haul luggage thru the Inn. They had 4 busloads of kids that were staying at the Inn. We never heard them. The rooms were large and quiet. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok, My friend liked breakfast. I did not. I am a picky morning eater and not much appealed to me.
Staff is exceptional! Rooms were spacious and clean. We have stayed here before and always choose this place to stay on our way to Utah. It's an easy off/ on from I80. The breakfast is the best we've ever seen. Our only issue was how short the bathroom stool is. As older adults it's difficult to get up from the stool in our room. That being said, we'd stay again. Love the decor and having coffee and water readily available along with cookies. Awesome!
The Breakfast Comedian was awesome! Great experience! Clean area and tasty food! Can't wait until my next visit, for more one liners and great conversations! The lounge food for dinner was delicious! Wonderful conversation Can't beat the small town atmosphere!
Best breakfast ever - hot breakfast, real bacon, rosemary potatoes, omelets, fresh mixed fruits, hot oatmeal, and tons of options!!! Shout out to Stan as well - excellent service for helping my little boy prepare his hot waffles! Very clean facility, cozy and welcoming ambience! 24 hour pool too!!!
It was a beautiful hotel at a great location. The bed was very comfortable. It had everything we needed. It had a big breakfast with a very kind and helpful gentleman to assist us. We would be happy to recommend it to others
Clean, comfortable, easy check-in, and good breakfast. Front desk receptionist, Daniel, was super helpful and personable. He took the time to give us information regarding road and weather conditions. He had family members traveling at the time and they were taking the route we were considering. He was able to pull up more information on his desktop computer than we could on our phones and we appreciated him taking the time to do so. As a side note, we used that info and made it safely to our family's house for Christmas.
As usual, great staff. No longer has a restaurant, which is a huge downgrade. They provide a list of restaurants that are pretty poorly reviewed. Fast food is at the other end of town. Refrigerator did not get cold and had no adjustment. Clean and comfortable. Pay some staff and get your restaurant back!
Nice place with great amenities. The breakfast was superb. It was easy to get to. Staff was very friendly. They were very helpful as needed when any problems arose. Gotta have 200 characters to finish this.
My room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the staff that I encountered were pleasant and caring and the price is unbeatable! The Best Western Cotton Tree Inn is the only place I will stay in Rawlins.
Loved the omelets and bacon for breakfast! The breakfast included fresh fruit too! The staff here are always friendly too! I stay at the Best Western ever time I drive 1-80 Slept like a baby on those soft pillows!
Lobby and common areas looked great, but the rest of the property was showing wear. In addition, the parking lot had trash strewn about; guessing that management was having trouble getting staff -- ? The one staffer who was working his butt off was the breakfast host on our visit: he was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond. The coffeemaker went down during our breakfast and he made "cowboy coffee" until a temporary replacement could be brought in. Room itself (on the back side of the property, facing a hospital) was quiet and we slept fine, but hallway carpets were dirty and entryways (of which there are many) were in rough shape. On our visit, the hotel's lounge/restaurant was closed and there were no other options for a walkable dinner, as some nearby restaurants closed early.
We arrived around midnight and we thought it would be full, we didn't get any reservations because we were on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park, we were coming from Yellowstone National Park and we were really tired, service was good and breakfast next day was awesome thank God. God bless you all, 9/8/2023
First off- the room was so comfortable & spotlessly clean. The front desk staff and general manager Casey Shinkle really are exceptional. We were there for my husband's surgery. After being at the hospital all day I was exhausted physically and mentally . The front desk went above and beyond to take care of me. Room service is not one of their normal perks BUT that night they took my order, delivered it to my room and went and took my money to pay my bill to the pub. I can't begin to express my sincere appreciation for that thoughtfulness and kindness. It might be small town Wyoming but I'd compare their service and quality to a nice hotel in a huge city/tourist area! Our thanks doesn't seem enough but it's given fully!
Great clean room. Sufficient breakfast and very friendly and accommodating staff. Safe lit parking lot. Plus the pet friendly rooms were perfect...first floor and easy in and out, and a very reasonable pet fee!!
Great check in with Jessie and out with Brenda! Say “Hi” to Breakfast Dave when you stay! Our room was clean upon arrival, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel is close to food! The pool is open 24 hours; bonus for late check in with families!!
Clean room, stocked with towels and toiletries, pool and jacuzzi open 24 hours, breakfast until 10 and checkout at noon. Weird setup. Its a hotel/motel combination. I liked it. It is the most decent room we've had in Wyoming. It was quiet in spite of how busy it seemed to be. Very friendly staff. Nice to have a tv and internet that both worked.
My partner and I stayed 1 night at this inn because we've been driving all day/night. It was very substandard and inadequate by far for the amount charged for the room. It's highly overrated as a 3 stars hotel (s/b a motel), and the pictures on their website is misleading. Parking lot not smooth either.
Under construction, but renovations were just a little inconvenient & certainly not a deal breaker. My room was spacious & spotless. Fridge/micro & free wifi w/ample signal. Slept well on super comfortable bed with fat, fluffy pillows. Great water pressure. In-room coffee. Continental was well tended & I was happy to see "real" oatmeal & not the usual packets of instant! No elevator, so if stairs are an issue you'll definitely want to ensure availability of downstairs room. Would definitely stay here again :-)
We were stuck in Rawlins for 3 nights. Every employee from front desk, housekeeping, breakfast crew, all the above, went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We were terrified after being on icy, dangerous, roads and they calmed us and warmed us with coffee. During the stay they had games, endless warm beverages, kept breakfast open late, and constantly asked if we needed anything. When the roads opened the housekeepers were going door to door letting guests know it was safe to travel. They gave us extra food for the road just in case we ended up taking longer than expected. They made sure when we left that IF we got turned around they would take care of us. I've never felt more cared for in my life. One of the front desk helpers was named Daniel. He was patient and full of grace.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast selection was great and the food was really good. Would definitely stop there again the next time I was traveling through.
We stayed 3 nights during a road shut down and everyone was so welcoming and nice. Made sure we were comfortable our entire stay. Best hotel experience I've ever had. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
We stayed at this location due to weather and closed roads. They were so accommodating and our family had a great experience swimming, playing pool and had a wonderful breakfast (thank you Dan) waiting out the storm. It was clean, well staffed and great amenities! We even got a personal call to let us know that our route was open and we could continue our trip.
Everyone was super nice. We were not able to use the lounge or restaurant, because of staffing. There were local restaurants within walking distance that were recommended. Overall the stay was every nice.
No complaints. Love the rustic decor and large business center just off the lobby. Our room was surprising large, sparkling clean, had plenty of towels, great heater (it was cold outside on this trip), full breakfast, and all the other amenities we've come to expect from an upscale hotel. Will stay here again, for sure!
$154, Really? Room was ok but nothing special. Beige on brown on black and very dark with limited lighting. We had on every light in the room!!! Do wish for grab bars in all the showers tho. Being new to each tub it is hard to anticipate slippery.....but a good shower and water pressure. Quiet tho and room window looks out onto the hall and the hall has a window so that makes for a really dark room. We've stayed here before but were unaware of the 'lounge' and temporarily closed restaurant. Staff was nice. Best 'free' breakfast on the route from California to Omaha. Very nice gentleman working the 'cafe' there.......................Lots of parking by the way.
Don't let the condition of the parking lot scare you. Inside is very nice. Patrons seemed to be mostly transit crew who were working. Very noisy when they left in the AM. Great breakfast selections. Close to freeway.
While the staff, cleanliness and restaurant items were very good, the internet service is the worst I have seen in my stays across the BW venues. The BW Cottontree has NOT changed their logon password or protocols in more than 3 years, If you have a search engine their service does not recognize [Mozilla in my case], their system will instantly turn off your access.
The check in process was smooth and the front desk staff were very friendly. The rooms have an outside entrance which made unloading very convenient. They also have an inside door to access the pool and breakfast easily. The room was spotless, the floor and the bedding spotless. I like the sink inside the bathroom and another sink outside the bathroom. It was very quiet and cool. The breakfast was more than I expected. Pancakes, waffles, omlets, biscuits and gravy, several cereals and oatmeal, several fresh fruits, yogurt and lots of hot coffee. The breakfast attendant was very friendly and helpful and did a terrific job keeping the breakfast area supplied and fresh. I would certainly stay again at Best Western Cottontree In in Rawlins, Wyoming!
Been traveling for over a week Stopped in Rawlings great hotel Dog rooms with parks right behind hotel 24 hour pool and jacuzzi. I used it at 5am What a great wake up I will go out of my way to stay at this property again. Great downtown also fun
I am a traveling healthcare worker who spent 3 months in this hotel. I practically have lived in hotels the past 2 years and this hotel was THE BEST experience, beating out some high end luxury hotels in Houston, NYC and Chicago.
As the title says this is a very easy 5 star stay at Best Western Cottontree Inn, Rawlins. Only stayed one night here en route to Cody but an excellent hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, lovely swimming pool and hot tub only a few yards from our room. The hotel is situated on the edge of town but still close to a couple of good restaurants. We went to Michael's Big City Steakhouse which is only 5 mins walk away. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rawlins. Competitively priced as well!!
We were actually booked into another hotel in Rawlins which fell through last minute (and boy were we glad as the place there looked awful). We went across town to the Best Western and they looked after us very well. Booked straight into a room, which was large, very comfortable, well appointed and clean. The staff on the front desk were friendly and helpful, and even gave us a great recommendation for dinner in the town (Ichiban Japanese restaurant). The hotel has a nice indoor pool and hot tub which we enjoyed. At breakfast they had sadly been let down by a member of staff not showing for work so were running a bit late, but another member of staff came in last minute and worked super hard to get breakfast out as quickly as possible. So thank you Best Western staff for a fantastic last minute stay!
I had to plan my road trip on line and was having problems finding accommodations in Rawlins. I opted for the Best Western. When I got to Rawlins I found a slew of new hotels on the east side. The Best Western is on the west side. This Best Western was probably newish in 1970. It's pretty beat up around the edges. The decor is “functional 1970's”. The handicapped parking space has no curb cut. The place looks abandoned. For the price it is very disappointing. Glad I only had to spend one night.
Stayed July 3rd, for a quick overnight on our way home from the 50th Annual Rainbow event… Rachel kindly informed over the phone that the hot tub was open 24 hours, and WE WERE THERE! After 3 days, and like literally a hundred miles up and down a tall mountain, I swear! Nothing can compare to the promise of a Best Western breakfast, after a late night of soaking these weary old arthritic joints. Our checkin process was AMAZING! While these road weary eyes couldn't quite make out the name tag… the guy with the wrist wraps n eyeliner made our counterculture hearts feel right at home! He explained local beer ordinances, and helped the hubs finally have his much deserved evening nightcap, AND he got us the BEST RATE! He was super nice, we really genuinely appreciate how he made us feel welcome and at home. Who's that night watch person tho? We thought she was, hands down, THE BEST! I had to make a list, of supplies our dirty mountain hikin bods were in need of… Im glad I did! Because I forgot by the time we made it to the desk. BUT SHE DIDNT! We were provided with soap for each of us, and face soap even! (which was weird, I hadnt even thought of that, lol… just this dusty dirty hair) She got us bath towels for the kids, and even brought us the blankets I had on our list… even if I had forgotten. This girl went beyond to provide a comfortable stay. THANKS FOR TAKING CARE OF US!!! Anywho… after allll of this himan kindness, the last word HAS TO BE about the breakfast guy. This dude is OTT, for real!!! ANY need or want, the guy makes SURE we are provided for. THE BREAKFAST GUY NEEDS A RAISE!!! Because he is definitely the best of the best.
We only stayed here 1 night, I'm kinda picky about where my head lays. I want it clean, easy to get to. And newer building that way I know I won't be disappointed. Great friendly receptionist, Breakfast was awesome and I'm not talking donuts. Great hot breakfast. Bed was hard but not a big fan of hard beds so O well.
Motel converted to a hotel. Room was spacious but had carpet instead of being modernized. Breakfast was satisfactory although the omelettes are pre made, frozen fare, heated by the host. Scrambled eggs from a carton would taste better. The breakfast host was friendly and a comic.
This hotel is a hidden gem in Rawlins. Unexpected. Looks & operates like a high-class hotel. Dog friendly. I like that some of the rooms have an outside door directly in front of the car which makes it easy to unload/load the car and easy to take the dog out. Then another door into the hallway to access the facilities. Beautiful pool and hot tub. Excellent restaurant/bar.
To be fair, Rawlins Wyoming isn't much. There is a giant refinery and mining. The town is small and pretty old and out in the middle of nowhere. So keep that in mind. This is a small spot just off of interstate 80 - BUT - All that said, it had gotten late and we were on our way to Salt Lake City and had been driving all day and it started to rain so we stopped here for the night with very low expectations. And this hotel is great. It is clean. Well staffed. Staff is friendly. Wel lit and secure. There is a little coffee shop right down the street. There are fast food restaurants a few miles away. We stayed with our little Dog and they had a pet friendly room open and they charge very little for pets. So overall it was an absolute Oasis in the middle of the night in a grass desert.
I dont have one complaint about this hotel. Our experience was perfect. Very clean, comfortable, great working amenities. Lovely breakfast. Nice lounge with good menu selections. Would definitely go back when in Rawlins again.
I received an email first thing that my room was available to check in. When I did check in, they were very friendly and helpful. I accidently put my card in my pocket with my phone that had a magnet case and they got me a new card immediately to le me get back in my room. The next morning my son called me that he forgot something in his room where he was with his team. I called down and the front desk came right up and let me in the room to get his stuff. SO NICE
We had the best experience with this hotel .. very nice staff! Everything was very clean .. rooms, lounge, pool / hot tub! Food in bar / restaurant was amazing, and waitress was spectacular! Breakfast was great ... gentleman working was such fun to visit with! We would go back to this hotel in a heart beat if back in the area! Highly recommend this hotel!
My room was still dirty when I went in. Used towels on floor and old soap in shower. Toilet was pretty dirty. The room was very bright at night from light outside the room. Will give it another chance. Think it was just a rare occurrence.
I've driven through Wyoming a few times and have usually stayed at the eastern or western end of the state. This time, I was too tired to drive any further. This hotel was a great choice. It was affordable and the clean. Rawlins is a nice little town with some good shops and restaurants. The hotel is easily accessible from I-80 at Exit 211. We would definitely stay here again
The Room Was Dirty,We Had Footprints All Over The Tiles. The Back Of The Bathroom Door Had A Brown Substance All Over It And There Was Dirt Clusters All Over The Carpet In The Room !!! Housekeeping Needs To Up Their Game !!!
We stumbled across this hotel on our way across country. I liked the lobby décor. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. They had a wonderful breakfast selection. I would definitely stay here again.
This is a great place to stop. Rawlings, Wy is kinda out there in the middle of nowhere and this place is an oasis!! On site bar/restaurant. Pet friendly rooms and the indoor pool is open 24 hours!!! Plenty of parking and big rig/rv space.
Excellent hotel and breakfast !Breakfast had many choices. Host was very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and great appearance. Sleep was great, mattress was very comfortable! Check in was perfect and front desk lady in the morning was very accommodating! We definitely would stay again.
The staff at the hotel is exceptional. They were loaded down with work and remained cheerful. The rooms are clean, and the breakfast was very good. Hot meal with many selections. The hotel is very well designed to make it comfortable to deal with wind or snow.
Nice place. The beds were fine. The restaurant was something best left alone. The floor of the room had not been vacuumed to the walls for a very long time. We stayed in a section that was older. The security door did not lock easily and remained open if it was not pulled shut. The staff was ok and helpful. There was sewer smell coming from the lavatory overflow drain. A simple "plug it with a wash cloth" fixed that. We stayed in the same room leaving for Yellowstone Park and coming back from same. It was cleaner the second time. It is on the west end of Rawlins. Rawlins is a sad little town that has seen better days. The good end is on the east. The restaurants and service facilities are there as well. Gas is cheaper at the Walmart than in front of the hotel. One important note: The people that drag their stupid pets along, stay in a segregated section away from people who travel without need. That is nice. Overall, the staff was pleasant and helpful and the person we used for information was great.
Excellent property, friendly staff and clean rooms. My main comment has to do with the restaurant. I ordered a meal to take to my room, My burger was excellent. My server was helpful and courteous. My rating (6 out of 10 for the restaurant) is due to the restaurant was going to close early. I-80 was closed due to the early October snow storm. Why would you close the restaurant and bar early when stranded motorists would be still arriving as the hotel filled up. This makes no sense to me.
The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious with good lighting. The bathroom lighting was exceptional for shaving. There was no grab bar in shower. There were no electrical outlets at the writing table for computers and phones. After issues with the TV remote, blackout window curtain and heating unit were reported to the front desk, a significant credit was applied to our bill. Had it not been for these issuse, we would have rated the property higher. A dine-in breakfast was excellent with “real” plates and flatware.
While this property is older, it seems well maintained. Beds and pillows were comfortable. It was clean! We liked having a separate bath and toilet room in addition to another sink in the room. Internet was easy to sign on to. There is a coin operated guest laundry. The pool and spa were great! The pool was not shockingly cold as they often are. Front check in desk people were nice. Breakfast was a nice selection of food and beverages and the food varied from day to day. (We were there for 3 mornings.) Our biggest love was the breakfast personnel - Dan and Amy are completely wonderful people! They were very helpful, politely talkative and their cheerful attitudes helped everyone get off to a great start! The feeling of friendliness, kindness and camarodiere were tangible and very much appreciated by everyone!
We had a very difficult time searching for a good hotel in Rawlins, WY, that was dog friendly. Just about ready to give up because of so many rundown old motels when we came across the Best Western. The room was clean and spacious, with nice furniture and comfortable mattress and bedding. Convenient grassy area for our dog. We only stayed one night because we were traveling through but would definitely stay there again.
The lobby and common areas are gorgeous, the room is clean and the bed was comfortable! All the staff was so friendly and attentive. Everything seems recently updated and the architect had a good eye, I'm super impressed with the lobby and common areas. Definitely the nicest Best Western I've seen. Will stay there again for sure.
A very good location that puts forth great effort to be friendly, clean, and provide great food options. I stay here often and it seems to be the best option in Rawlins. The breakfast staff always has a nice setup and great service. the Front desk is always very fast and friendly
Rooms were very clean, called from auto to reserve and desk staff was great on phone and when we arrived. Breakfast was very good. Grounds were clean. Would recommend to friends & family to stay here and we would stay again.
Nice, clean hotel & facilities, especially as we were looking to move beyond COVID restrictions to travel accommodations over the past 19 months. Pets welcome, & bags to accommodate dog-walks readily available.
Best Westerns always have the best beds and linens and are clean and comfortable. This trip we needed extra help to unload and reload heavy boxes and tubs from our vehicle. During both check-in and check-out employees cheerfully took the time to assist us to get the job done right. Could not have been more pleasant and helpful.
Made reservations in advance. Only room left was a pet room on arrival. Dogs barking and car alarms going off throughout the night. Room definitely had that doggie smell and the refrigerator had to be unplugged because of the noise. Breakfast was decent
Clean, quiet and comfortable. right off the interstate, but no traffic noise, everyone was pleasant and helpful. By traveling alone, I felf vert safe. I would recommend this Inn to anyone , not to mention breakfast buffet was great
Very clean, brand new facility, awesome friendly check in staff, lounge had excellent food, close to gas stations right off interstate 80. This place is a must stay, 24 hour hot tub and pool, pet friendly too
The hotel was a good place for us to stop for a night. The room had a second door leading to the parking lot and that made loading and unloading of luggage convenient. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel offered a substantial hot breakfast. A pleasant plus in the current COVID environment.
We travel a lot and many of those hotels have been Best Western Hotels. I'm handicapped and this is the first place ever that I couldn't get to the lobby. Only stairs up and an entrance on the side of the building with a sliding glass sliding door was locked. My husband had to go in by himself to register. The exterior was totally run down and our air conditioner didn't work and made a really loud noise all night. It did seam like they tried hard in other areas like the furniture and bed.
The place was absolutely filthy! The stairways hadn't been cleaned in weeks, the room carpets were filthy, the room stunk! It was a total disappointment forthe money we spent to stay! The Bedt Western in North Platte was amazing, compared to Rawlins! Best Western should be embarrassed to call that place a Best Western! Never again will we stay at the BW in Rawlins!
Excellent in almost every way: Clean and well cared for common areas, outside grounds, and especially rooms! Friendly and caring staff, efficient and quick. Wonderful hot breakfast with a plentiful assortment to choose from and real dishes on which to dine. Plus pet friendly and welcoming. The best Bestwestern experience we have had in a long time! Other hotels should come here to see how it is done!
Great motel, pet friendly,24 hour swimming pool, awesome hot breakfast. Rooms were spacious and internet was amazing!! They also have a huge selection of snacks available by office if you arrive late and are hungry. Would definitely stay again!!
This is location has one of the nicest lobbies and pool/hot tubs of any best western that I have ever stayed at. It's a nice place to stop and rest while on your way to visit other parts of Wyoming. The town has a cute restaurant to eat at as well.
Besides the large and secure rooms, there is a restaurant and lounge in the hotel. We loved that as many businesses are still operating on shortened hours. Easy access off I80 but very quiet. Would stay here again.
The staff at this place was simply amazing. They have a great breakfast, indoor pool & jacuzzi that I enjoyed on a regular & the staff was very tentative to my needs & made my almost 2 month stay there very pleasant
The room was not cleaned very well as we found a pill of some sort that was not ours under the bed. My toddler found it. My toddler who still puts everything in his mouth. Thankfully he did not put it in his mouth. When we went to the front desk to tell them about it, the lady seemed unconcerned. She didn't get the manager, she didn't ask our room number to address it with the housekeeping, all she said was ‘we need to do better'.
The ‘seasonal rate' is way over the top for this property. But Brenda worked with me to help get the rate down a bit with AARP/BW rewards . The rooms are large and comfortable. The front desk and customer service is stellar. Brenda, Tawny and Lesa were polite, professional and patient. Unfortunately the cleaning left a lot to be desired. Appeared not to have been dusted in quite a while. I know it has been hard to staff ‘post Covid' so I let it go. However the carpet in the pet room was desperately in need of a deep cleaning shampoo or better yet replacement. I would certainly return to this property especially off season. The staff made it worth the stay and the return.
I always choose Best Western hotels when possible/ The one in Rawlings WY was the absolute worst. It was the most expensive by far of my 8 day road trip. The room had not been dusted in months. There was no shampoo in the room. The bed was okay. The room #210 was dated. The good news was that I was vowed tired from a long hard day of driving so I went to bed early and slept like a rock. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is a great little hotel. Checkin was fast, friendly and easy. We needed an ADA room and the one we got was great. We were able to park right in front of our room and unload our bags with a short walk into the room. No long walk through lobbies and down halls like other hotels. And the bathroom was great! It had a roll in shower that was pretty and functional! They had a hot breakfast in the morning and the attendent was fun and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
The Best Western CottonTree Inn is the best place to stay when in Rawlins. The staff is always friendly and happy to help. The hotel and its amenities are well worth the money. It's also right off of Interstate 80; and is surprisingly quiet for having such proximity. I'd highly recommend to any weary traveller needing a night's respite.
This review could have and should have been a 5 star one. Except for the rude non service from the front desk. First was when we just simply asked for pool towels but received a curt and short answer of we dont have none. That alone wasnt a big deal. But we booked a king suite with the sofa bed. This is the main reason we stayed here but when we asked for an extra blanket to use with that bed we received the same very short impatient answer. The lack of service just completely changed the tone of the stay. And i wont stay here again.
I always enjoy staying at the Best Western, they have a great breakfast and the bedding is super comfortable. I wish that the pillows were a little more firm, but over all comfortable. I also found the hot tub to be extremely relaxing.
We chose this Best Western because they were serving a full hot breakfast and their hot tub and pool were open with no restrictions. This location was a half way spot for my sister and I to meet up with our kids for the weekend. We had a great time and were so comfortable just hanging out at the hotel
The staff was so rude to me. The room door to the outside parking lot had no seal on it, so we had to turn the heat up to 75 just to stay moderately warm. I checked in at 5am after delriving 20hrs, and paid full price for a room i could only stay in for six hours (which i agreed to). However, the maid service was beating on my door at 8am. The coffee maker in the room was missing pieces and didnt work. At check out, the desk attendant didn't even apologize when i explained all of these VERY REASONABLE problems.
My wife became ill while visiting Wyoming and was transferred to Salt Lake City Utah. I was driving her back home and stopped at this motel. Found my room to be the cleanest room, I have ever stayed. in at a Best Western. The room was large and very nice decor. The bed linens were very clean and smell clean as well as the towels. The lady who work the breakfast area went out of the way to help me when she out my wife was ill. The breakfast was very good. My room had a exterior door and I could park by my room. We enjoyed our stay there and will stay there again when we are in this area.
I there on a emergency and found my room to be the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. The bed linens were very clean and smell clean as well as the towels. Room was large and very nice and the bed was great.Room had a exterior door and you can park by your room. Breakfast was good and had a large section of items. The lady who handles the breakfast was very friendly and went out of her way to help me when found out my wife was sick. I would recommend this motel to my friends.
Wonderful rooms if you are traveling with your pet. Easy access to outdoor area. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Front desk was very warm and friendly. Absolutely would stay here again!
I am always treated like a valued customer and any of my needs are always met. I would definitely recommend Best Western as a whole to anyone looking for a nice place to stay. The rooms are always clean and provide oll of me travel needs while I stay.
Staff at front desk were great. Clean room sticker was missing from door notified staff and they said they ran out and room was clean. Upon entry to room food crumbs and popcorn all over floor. Desk and chair was covered in dirt. Sink was dirty and soap dish was used. Bathtub full of dirt and excess body hair. Towels were fresh and beds were fresh they just didn't finish cleaning the room. Hope I don't get covid from this stay.
I really appreciate the staff for going above and beyond, especially during the whole pandemic! They keep the pool, bar and restaurant open and offer a great breakfast compared to most motels during all of this. Plus they are small town friendly which is a nice touch! Thanks everyone from BW!!!
This was my first time traveling during the pandemic and I am impressed! The rooms were all sealed with a ‘cleaned and disinfected' sticker that wasn't broken until the door was opened. The rooms were super clean and quiet. The hotel staff were super friendly and super accommodating. We ordered pizza from a local business and were told the front desk would call. The phone in the room didn't work so they called us on our cell to let us know it arrived. Breakfast was AMAZING. Not what I expected from a continental breakfast. A staff member even offered my 3 year old a type of cereal that wasn't put out. He was incredibly friendly and made my 3 year old smile. This is definitely a place I'll visit again. As a bonus, the hotel convenience store had a great selection at an affordable price!
Nice rooms and very logical pet friendly rooms. A door to the inside hall ABSD a door right out to the parking lot and pet area. Absolutely one of the best designed rooms for your dogs! Helpful and friendly staff, lovely pool. Easy access on and off the freeway. The only issue is I thought the bed was extremely hard. Other than that, we'll stay again!!
The front desk was waiting for us Jamie was great ! Under the circumstances of COVID-19 All precautions were taken to see that everyone was protected We were very impressed about the UV Sanitation precautions that the Hotel provided
The cable never works and every time I am there the tub has hair in the drains. I love the house keepers very nice people the maintenance guys are nice. The breakfast server is wonderful very friendly.
This place was fantastic. Very clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast was great!!! Even with the Covid modifications a hot breakfast was served safely. I was impressed that a "clean" sticker was across the door that let us know it had been sanitized. We would definitely go back.
This Best Western had everything! The suite was clean and extra care had been taken due to COVID 19. The sheets, bedding, pillows, towels were fresh and new. The beds were comfortable. The pool was amazing and the hot tub helped my back. The staff was friendly. I was able to wash my clothes! AND to top it off, breakfast was amazing. Far beyond the granola bar, my mini omelet, sausage, and pancakes were delicious and such a treat on my journey from the east side of Michigan.
This trip was set up fairly fast everything work like it should The front desk was very helpful the rooms were clean with a little sticker over the door saying it was sanitized check out in the morning was was great and the use of Internet was very helpful trying to Catch up on business
We are traveling cross-country to return home, so this was probably our 9th hotel stay during our travels. I have been choosing hotels that are taking extra measures for cleaning because of COVID, and we are now traveling with a dog. We were given a pet-friendly room with a very soiled carpet, faucets on sink and tub did not look clean, shower water was very noisy, and we were missing soap and shampoo from our bathroom. Our room did have an outside entrance which was convenient. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was adequate.
While making a long trip alone, wasn't sure where I would decide to stop for the night. I prefer Best Western and was happy to find a Best Western in Rawlins. Also, relieved there was a vacancy. The lady at the desk was very helpful and efficient. The man working the breakfast area was great at his job and had a fun personality.
On a road trip across half the country, we stayed at this Rawlins location. The staff was friendly, the building clean and updated, and the rooms cozy with excellent beds. They have a full breakfast in the morning that justifies paying a little more for the room. Everything was in ordinance with pandemic restrictions. I was impressed with this hotel! It was a great place to rest after a day of driving with two small kids. They especially loved swimming!
Took necessary precautions for COVID. No elevator. Hand sanitizer everywhere. Required masks. Rooms with a.c. Vented from the outside. Helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Signs of aging, but well kept and clean.
The hotel Staff was amazing. The rooms above and beyond normal hotels even better then the Hampton INN at which we stayed during our trip. Breakfest was supreb and many things to choose from. All food was indivdually wrapped, hot and someone to serve us. I was amazed with our stay. OH and the room was amazing and I loved the large closet and sink that was not in the bathroom so I could do my hair while the boys showered.
Took a chance to try something different and was so glad we did. This is a motel right out of the golden days of Route 66 motels. Great staff (Desk - Brenda/Dinner-great dinner waitress/bartender(night of June 25) and the breakfast cook provided one of the best motel breakfasts of all time. Did not get his name, but he reminded us of Woody in Toy Story. Great guy, cook and so funny.
If you have anything other than a dog or cat dont waste your time. We had purchased a portable perch for our lazy will not fly bird. Because they discriminate against birds and other pets, we had to elsewhere. I asked for a room away from everyone with an outside door as well because of my small dog. I don't have an issue paying for pet charge. When you have a list of what's prohibited, NOT PET FRIENDLY
There's not much in Rawlins so we didn't expect much from this hotel. We were tired from driving and wanted a clean safe place to stay at. We were pleasantly surprised at the great customer service and the cleanliness of the rooms.
We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. Staff were kind, accommodating, and helpful. Beds were comfy and the AC was highly efficient. Appreciated the lighting over the vanity. And the decent sized mini fridge and microwave. 10/10 would stay again
Great Customer Service! Clean rooms with perfect amenities. Beds were comfortable and a great room setup! I love the additional pillows and towels that are provided without having to ask and instead of the standard two pillows & two set of totals. Might sound cheesy but I love that they provide a specific dark towel for makeup removal. I feel so bad when I feel like I'm destroying a hotels prestige white towels but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! Very nice touch. Best Western has really stepped up there game! I will be signing up for their membership program as I am a point hoarder (lol)! Would recommend
We had to stop for the night because of black ice on the interstate. We found this hotel to be seriously excellent. The rooms are very clean and so comfortable. If you look at the pictures on their site they are exactly how everything in the hotel looks. We had a wonderful dinner in their restaurant. And there is a full breakfast buffet in the mornings. We found every one of their staff members to be so friendly and extremely helpful. In the morning when we were getting ready to get back on the road one of the women behind the desk helped us navigate the computer to check the road conditions before we left. Excellent customer service!!!
We were desperate for a room when roads were closed because of weather. The handicap facilities in this room were excellent. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant on site was very convenient and the food was delicious
Was impressed with the staff and the ease of signing up for rewards program. The staff was great for checkin and out! Breakfast was hot and good choices. Clean area and a good cup of coffee. Maintenance was very timely about fixing my remote.
A great stay in Rawlins, Wyoming. Easy access to the highway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and the beds were great. Both the restaurant and breakfast had very good food.
Had traveled 900+ miles in 2 days and my cat was as ready to be off the road as I was. At departure time cat went into hiding but maintenance solved dilemma!! Staff were all pleasant, breakfast was above average. Room decor was restful. Many amenities were available that I didn't take advantage of. I will stay at this motel again and recommend it to travelers as well as to business representatives.
If you need rooms please pick this one. The service is amazing and the staff really cares. I'm sure HR only picks the best of the best and trained by managers who really care as well. If I had a problem they were the first one to fix it without even being asked.
Arizona to Canada is a haul, especially with kiddos and closed highways. We stayed here twice on a recent trip. The staff is amazing—from the lounge server and amazing breakfast attendant to the front desk staff. They made a tough situation fun. The sidewalks outside the rooms are slippery but the staff addressed right away.
On our way back to Michigan, Interstate 80 was shut down. We were lucky to get a room and even luckier to find such a very nice hotel. There was a restaurant right there in the hotel that made it so much better than driving to another place to eat. Very cool decor with lots of wood, tile and granite. Our room was very large and clean, also nicely appointed decor. Very comfy and relaxing atmosphere.
While waiting for the roads to melt, wind to stop, sun to shine, (even a little bit)........................... . Keeping our lives OFF the line, we were warm and comfortable! Very thankful for the great personnel that saw to that.
My husband and I got stuck in Rawlins due to road closures from the blizzard. We were pleasantly surprised by the Best Western CottonTree Inn. We had our two dogs with us. The pet friendly rooms had access doors right outside. The rooms were clean and we had a great nights rest!
My wife and I have stayed at this motel about three times on our travels across Wyoming. It has a pool, hot tub, comfortable rooms, a lounge and nice restaurant. Once you get there you do not have to leave. The food is very good from burgers to steaks and prices are very reasonable. I really enjoy the fact that no room's doors open to the outside. There is a hallway all the way around the building. You will enjoy the large rooms I always find the beds here very comfortable and the showers work very well. Your stay here will be very pleasant.
The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The staff were all super helpful and professional. And let me tell you about the mattress, super comfy! I looked forward to going back to the hotel to crawl into it.
The lady that checked me in stole money. Do not pay cash and card . She double dips ! Can't believe a hotel organization would have someone dishonest working for them. I highly suggest staying somewhere else !
On our way to Grand Teton National Forest, we spent a night here. We wanted to drive through Wind River Reservation, so Rawlins was the perfect stop from Colorado. The hotel staff was super nice and welcoming. Our standard room with queen beds was clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean. We had no complaints. Breakfast was good with friendly staff. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly, especially if you are a Best Western member. Will definitely stay here whenever we are in the area.
no reservations when stopped speedy check in, directions, friendly staff. when asked if eating establishments around noted had a lounge with menu, this was wonderful did not have to leave building to get a hot supper time to relax before going to sleep for the night. beds were very comfortable and room was spacious with 2 entries easy access vehicle if forgot to bring something in and with weather could use the second door to walk in hallways to lounge to breakfast did have pool and hot tub did not partake in this thou.
It had been a rough day driving through an ice and snowstorm. We were very happy to get to the hotel although the person who checked us in was not very responsive. One of the other persons working behind the desk stepped in and gave us excellent service. From that point on everything was perfect.
Pros: The front desk people were very friendly and accommodating. The beds were super comfy, the linens and towels smelled freshly laundered, and I really liked the fact that there was a sink in the bathroom and a sink outside the bathroom. I also enjoyed the fact that you could choose a room with the door to the outside or inside. Cons: It would be nice to have a fan in the bathroom as the shower humidity never left the bathroom. Everything seemed pretty clean except the carpets were not that well vacuumed including and especially along the walls. Also, you could hear some kind of shooshing going on throughout the hotel -- maybe whenever someone used the plumbing???? The coffee for breakfast was not good and that is the most important breakfast item for me. This 4 rating does not include their hotel restaurant (Turnbuckle I think was the name of it). That rating would have been a minus 100. Talk about pathetic. I asked the server what is the best thing on the menu, and she suggested the Chicken Alfredo and I could barely eat it it was so bad. The chicken in it was like pressed and formed or something--not good--and for a premium price. I should have gotten a clue when both people beside me left all their chicken in whatever dishes they ordered. Most people left without eating much of their food and didn't take a to-go box. That is one nightmare you don't want to carry home with you. I would stay at the hotel again, but under no circumstances would I ever eat at the hotel for dinner again.
The beds were comfy, showers hot, and breakfast was set out early. The cook was in the breakfast area the whole time we were there that morning answering questions and joking with folks. I thought it was a nice touch. I usually don't get enough to eat at hotel breakfasts, but this one had a nice set of food options including well-cooked eggs (not rubber), waffles, fresh fruit, and decent quality coffee.
A last minute change of plan to our route from Jackson to Denver meant we needed accommodation on Highway 80 at Rawlins. This hotel proved to be an excellent choice. It was easy to find, our room which was very comfortable and parking was right outside. The pool was an added bonus providing an opportunity to relax in the hot tub.
This hotel was an utter disappointment due to very unclean rooms! We pray the manager takes care of his housekeeping issues so that problems like this never arise for future customers but as for us, we will never step foot in this establishment again! Nic, at the front desk was a God-send! Had it not been for him we would've left immediately! Bathroom floors were covered in hair and room floor was a nighmare, food crumbs everywhere!
We had to find a hotel/ motel quickly for one of the nights on our trip from Colorado to Yellowstone. We were lucky to find your establishment as it was lovely and clean and friendly! I'd recommend this motel to anyone!
The hotel was clean, nice room and great staff. the price was great compared to other hotels we stayed at on our trip. The breakfast was good and the staff member who ran the breakfast was helpful and friendly. We had no problems at the hotel.
On 09/10/19 I stayed at the Best Western in Rawlins Wy as I was assigned to for work. Within 24 hours, there were 2 unauthorized entries into my room. The second one was just after I fell asleep at night. I awoke to someone trying to enter my room, and trying to force the chain that was latched on the door. After dealing with the individual attempting entry, I called the front desk and asked if somebody was given a key to my room. Brenda answered that she did in fact give a key to a random individual that was not a guest in my room. When I asked if anyone could just walk up and get a key to my room, Brenda hung up the phone on me, mid-conversation. When I called back and asked for a manager, Brenda told me that there wasn't one there. I barely slept that night, as I did not know who Brenda might give a key to my room next. I am a disabled combat veteran, and I work at a prison. I have received several death threats while working at the prison. At approximately 0700, I went to the front desk to ask for a manage. Again, there was no manager. Rebecca was at the front desk and gave me the business card of the General Manager (Casey). Unfortunately, Casey only works from 0800-1600, and I was in town for a Mon-Fri conference that was 0800-1700 each day. So I called Best Western Corporate to file a complaint. The person I spoke with at Best Western Corporate said that they like to let the locations handle any issues that arise. Unfortunately, Casey doesn't care enough about the business to come in a few minutes early, or stay a few minutes late. So he sticks to his 8 hour part time work for a 24 hour business. Casey also can't possibly hire a manager to work the remaining 16 hours that he isn't there. I guess this is just how Best Western treats disabled combat veterans on and around the anniversary of 09/11.
Pro: Clean, friendly desk staff, very good breakfast. Con: No elevator - my wife and I, in our eighties, were given a second story room and had to schlep our luggage up and down the stairs. Air conditioner was noisy. Hallways were uncomfortably hot - the room air conditioners dump their heat into the hallways.
We were traveling with our cats and this pet-friendly location had an entrance to our room from both the inside and outside of the hotel. We were able to park right in front of the hotel room and bring our cats in easily. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was nice and clean. Breakfast was excellent quality with friendly service.
Clean place. Rooms had standard layout and were quiet. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was quite good and the area was clean. Not many options in Rawlins, but this seemed to be the best one. Would use this hotel again.
I do not understand why no one has mentioned the awful smell of the rooms. I say rooms because we were originally given a room that smelled like a cat peed in it and because this hotel allows pets I assumed that may actually be the reason for the odor (I have cats I like cats) We asked to be moved to another room that smelled worse ?!? (Also there was trash already in the trash bin. It was only a soap wrapper but still) Honestly if you are at all particular to strong odors do not stay here. We didn't leave because we got here at midnight (later after switching rooms) and are exhausted after a long day driving cross country or we would have turned around and found another hotel.
The entire experience was under par, however the room was not as clean as it should have been, the breakfast was so so. Overall not worth the $150 range charged. We stayed in the Rock Springs Best Western a week prior and it was great, we made this reservation based on our experience in Rock Springs.
Would not go back, the door lock did not work. There was no control for the TV and the lounge was so poorly run that three wait staff serving about 6 tables including my wife and I could not take the time to even offer us water in 15 minutes. We walked out. Manager promised a refund and have not seen it yet.
The staff encountered here was excellent! However, the room was just average and not very quiet. Parking lot noise and water from other rooms sounded like it was right in our room. The outside and lobby look fresh and new but the rooms were tired looking. Price paid was high for the room.
Was there for work. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. They worked hard to be sure that we had everything they needed. There Breakfast is awesome. The gentleman that runs it greets each person with a smile and a funny joke. Will definitely be staying there again.
My family of 6 stayed here for a night and was concerned about how much room we would have, but the hotel gave us a fold out bed to put in our room. Staff is super nice and the rooms are clean and neat. I will definitely stay again.
We arrived into town without a reservation and were not feeling overly optimistic as we drove through Rawlins but on securing a room at the BWCottontree Inn, we were pleasantly surprised by the room which was huge, new and clean. We were tired after driving for hours so were relieved to find the hotel had a bar and restaurant on site with friendly staff and the pool was great for the kids.
Great location. Extremely friendly staff. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable which afforded me a great night's sleep. If you are travelling through this area, I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay.
Booked this as a halfway point between Yellowstone and CO Springs. A lot of hotels in Rawlins have poor reviews other than this one. We got in late ( around midnight ) but had a pleasant, fast check in. Room was large and clean, no complaints there. Quiet hotel and wonderful breakfast spread. An added bonus was how close the hotel was to gas stations and food as well.
Outside the hotel looked so-so but inside is freshly renovated! Beautiful hotel with a great pool & spa! Restaurant and bar at the hotel are both great offering great food and very friendly staff. Definitely stay here if you're in Rawlins.
Quick stop in for a night of sleep midway through our trip. Was not disappointed. The interior of this Best Western is amazing. Modern Rustic. Our room was spacious and clean. Everyone we encountered was super nice. I want to give a special note to an employee who went above and had great customer service skill. Dan, who worked the breakfast that morning was great. I travel alot and have never had customer service like this at a continental breakfast. Not only was the food great, but Dan was great at making sure everyone had what they needed. He cleared plates, asked if anyone needed anything and was such a joy. I really enjoyed this personal touch. I would definately stay here again not just because of Dan, but this BW was beautifully remodeled. Thank you for a great one night stay.
Great hotel in a good location. Extremely friendly staff. The lady at check-in was especially helpful. I am sorry I did not get her name. We enjoyed a great breakfast the next morning! The Internet was fast which I enjoyed. The beds were comfortable which helped create a good nights sleep.
From all appearances, this property looks quite nice. Our major objection was the commode. For some unearthly reason, it was set very low to the floor and you had to squat down to the seat. We are in our 70's with bad back and knees and it was difficult to get up off it. It was very uncomfortable. I don't know if all the rooms are this way but you should inquire before booking. Everything else was fine. We ate in the restaurant and had a good dinner.
The hotel itself was nice and clean. Finding my hotel room was a little confusing at first but once you understood your starting point it got easier to find your way around. Everyone on staff was very kind and professional. The rooms were clean and bed very comfortable. The breakfast was food was hot, plentiful and very good.
We were nicely surprised to find the hotel to be more than we expected. The rooms were nice, clean and updated. The breakfast the next morning was good typically breakfast fare you find. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would certainly stay her again when we are in the area.
The hotel is pet friendly which was a plus for us. We were given a room at the far end across from the pet area. The room was clean, in need of some updating. Uniuqe to this property was you could park outside of your room and access it as well as a second door to allow you access from inside the hotel as well. Overall for an older property that allows pets it's not bad. It is a really clean hotel.
The lobby and rooms had modern decor as well as a great staff. They did everything for me from setting my wake-up calls to providing me with directions on how to get to certain places. Their wi-fi was surprisingly fast.
Check in was easy and the ladies at the desk were a delight. Room was nice & bed was comfy. Continental breakfast was one of the best we've had. The gentleman in the breakfast area greeted everyone that came in & pointed out what was available for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
Another late night arrival. Super helpful staff. Truly enjoyed the in-house restaurant. Even though the wind was howling madly inside the building was totally quiet. Another early departure but the breakfast and service really helped start us off. Plenty of truck parking.
Incredibly nice ladies at the desk for check in and check out. Breakfast area manager is a hoot! Pretty good food with genuine plates and flatware! Good coffee also. My room was very nice and very clean. My only complaint about the whole place is that I was so far away from the lobby/breakfast area. Maybe they can install an escalator during the next remodel! Actually it was good exercise for me. I will absolutely stay here again when I am in Rawlins. Great room, great people and convenient to the interstate and eating establishments.
We stopped here in an unplanned emergency stop when we got caught in a snow storm traveling down I-80. Staff had us checked in in no time st all. The restaurant stayed open late to serve many late arrivals. Clean hotel, great free breakfast in the morning. Very excellent experience in unexpected circumstances!
Have been staying here a lot for work. Very comfortable and clean. Would recommend to anyone! room is clean, breakfast and coffee is great, and internet works pretty well. Not a bad place to stay if you have to be away from home.
Breakfast area and lobby is really cute as clean. My daughter and I stayed at a nice room and the workers are really kind. Good hotel to stay at overall. Gym was very clean. Also, we did not go to the pool, but there is an indoor pool open 24 hr
The Best Western Cottontree is in a great location in Rawlins right off of I-80 and right next door to a restaurant, gas station and other local shops and services. Our stay here was an unplanned blessing. We'd been traveling for 7hrs that day already and had 400 more miles to go until our planned stop for the night. I wasn't sure if I could stay awake much longer, but then there was a closure on 80 East due to a high wind advisory and blown snow.We were instructed to take an exit in Rawlins, and pulled up to the Best Western with fingers crossed hoping it was a pet friendly location. I hopped on BringFido and low and behold there was the BW Cottontree at the top of the search results! I quickly booked because I knew with the closure rooms would fill quickly. Before even getting inside, my dog and I were greeted by friendly staff headed to their breaks, so we knew we were at a great place. The lobby was beautiful and the staff were incredibly kind to us, checked us in right away, and let us know about all the amenities (including their own restaurant and bar and an indoor pool!). We were so exhausted that we had to ask a second time how to get to our room, but when we got there it was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. We were able to park right in front of the room and enter and exit from the outside instead of walking all the way from the lobby. Having the door to the outside also made potty breaks quick and easy (it was below freezing so that was really convenient). Checking out was a breeze and we were able to get an extra hour of much needed sleep thanks to the 12pm checkout time. The goodie bag was a nice touch and the day staff were just as kind as their evening staff.I highly recommend you stop in Rawlins and stay here at the Best Western Cottontree, whether or not you're traveling with a four legged family member!
Near the Interstate, good thing since the Interstate was closed due to weather. Room was clean, quiet and moderately priced. Check in and check out were easy and the Staff is GREAT! Breakfast is good and the floor show is even better! Ok so it is not a floor show but the gent you encounter is amusing and a nice kind gent.
We were traveling and found this hotel online they had a great rate, we called and asked about the rate and if we needed to book online to get the price. They told us they would honor anything we saw online. When we arrived the staff at the front desk were very welcoming and gave us a welcome gift bag which included 2 waters, a candy bar and some chips. About 30 minutes after we arrived they called the room to make sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything. The hotel is very nice, the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. They have a great free breakfast that includes a wide selection of food. The food was properly prepared and hot and fresh. It included Cheese Omelets, Biscuits and gravy and sausage patties. They had fresh muffins in 4 flavors that were very tasty, I wish I would have grabbed a few more to go. At checkout they also let us grab a to go bag which included water, fruit and a granola bar. Everyone from the front desk to the person running the breakfast was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. I will definitely stay there again whenever we are in that area.
Our room was clean and good-sized. The hotel was very well maintained and the breakfast area was very nice. The breakfast selection was excellent and the attendant very personable. After a long day of traveling, this hotel was perfect for a good night's sleep
Check in was easy. Hotel was like an old motel with doors to an interior corridor and windows from the room to the corridor. Room was a good size and fairly comfortable. Lounge was closed for the evening for a staff party. We were at the back of the hotel so no noise issues. Breakfast was good with really friendly staff and a really nice breakfast room setting. Fairly priced too. Would definitely recommend. .
This BW is one of the finer BW's I have had the pleasure to spend the evening. It started as we checked with a super pleasant experience with an upbeat, informative front desk attendant, Genevieve. Our room had a king size bed with ample pillows and it was , oh so comfortable. The shower head was adjustable with ample pressure. Great morning, warm shower. My last "top shelf" item has to be the breakfast. Dan, the person preparing the great breakfast, is out front helping you enjoy your morning experience. The food items are ample and delightfully displayed. Dan converses and jokes with you as you enjoy what he has to offer you. He is truly proud to offer you a pleasant morning.
We stay here every year on our way south for the winter. Have never been disappointed. We will be staying there this Saturday on our way south. The staff is always very pleasant and eager to help in any way they can. Rooms are always nice & clean.
Overall a great stay. Loved they had an on-site bar and restaurant with a full menu. Breakfast was good..lots of options with real plates! The room was big, thick towels and comforter. Spotlessly clean. Everyone was so friendly. Will be staying here again!
No Elevators.. Room was nice, and was missing a few things that the front desk quickly took care of. The lounge was nice.. good food.. waitress was the bartender.. she was amazing... breakfast was very nice and a great way to start our day..
This hotel is a little off the Interstate so there is no highway noise. It appears to be an older building that has had some very nice upgrades. The real surprise was at breakfast in the morning. WOW!!! - they has REAL plates and REAL silverware. What an oddity in today's world. The breakfast attendant was extremely helpful and clearly proud of his food arrangement each morning. Easily recommend this location to anyone traveling thru Wyoming.
Very nice motel and staff. If I ever have an issue it is dealt with promptly and professionally. I go for work with the highlight of my trip the motel stay. I would recommend anyone traveling I-80 to stop for a stay, especially in a blizzard.
Such a wonderful place too stay. We had an enjoyable evening even though the weather was a little chilly. The staff was so very helpful and personable. The food was good and the drinks better. I would recommend this establishment to all travelers.
This hotel is away from the freeway and quieter. The building is older, but everything has been updated. The room we were in was a king and quite small but there was room for a chair and ottoman. I think many of the other rooms with two beds were larger. The room door opened to a hallway. The hallway opened to the parking lot. That helped with the noise. There was a nice pool, hot tub, and fitness center. The bed in our room was fairly comfortable. There was a larger mini-frig and microwave. Oddly, the sink counter was high and the toilet was low. Overall, it was a nice room. It was clean. There were some some areas that needed attention. There were some spots in the hallway by the outside door, and the trash can in the breakfast room looked a little grubby. The laundry room was large and had lots of equipment. The breakfast was a bit above average with lots of choices and some good bacon. The attendant in the breakfast room was very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff was helpful, too.
The rooms are quiet, the food is good and there is a road on the north side that isn't traveled very muck which is good for walking/running/ biking etc.--The local high school and others use it to jog on. There are restaurants and connivence stores within walking distance.Nice place to stay.
We stopped at the Cottontree Inn on the way to the Grand Tetons. Rawlins is a small town along I-80 and this Best Western is a hidden gem. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a hotel staff. Estella at the front desk went way way above and beyond to help us and make sure we were set for our upcoming adventures. We had dinner at the lounge that is adjacent were we were greeted with more friendly, welcoming faces. The rooms are super clean and the beds comfy. If you are on the area... stay here!
First the not so good. We did not have reservations as we did not know how far we would get that day. When we arrived in Rawlins I googled BW, found this hotel and the rate but did not book it as we were there at the hotel. The lady at the desk was very pleasant but said in order to get the special rate I would have to do it online. I had trouble because I mistakenly told it 2 rooms and I couldn't correct it. We ended up accepting the higher rate she quoted us - i understand there has to be rules. The thing that did affect our stay was the room had a window that was in the hall and because of the window treatment design I couldn't totally block the hallway lighting. But I will tell you we also stayed here in 2016 and will stay here again if the opportunity arises! It is a pleasant facility, great staff and possibly the best breakfast ever — including whoever does all of that work. So even with a couple of bumps in the road we would do it again! Thank you BW Cottontree!!
We were traveling thru the area and looking for a place to stay. Checked out reviews and decided to stay here. Staff was very friendly. Ended having to book room online to get cheaper rate, the front desk couldn't match price. The room was good sized and quiet, two queen beds were very comfortable, in room microwave/refrigerator, charging station worked out good. Breakfast was excellent, one of the bests we've come across during our travels. On site lounge and restaurant. There were a couple of restaurants in walking distance.
Everyone was so nice they have a great lounge we were able to talk with other travelers The restaurant food was greatHotel was clean beds were very comfortable loved the pillowsWould definitely recommend this Best Western
Great service, food (especially the meat loaf), and friendly atmosphere. I especially liked a local or regionally produced dark beer partially named ... Bombardier ... We were pleased with the room. We'd definitely stay here the next we pass through Rawlins.
For the money, it is a great hotel. They have Wifi and a great lounge with good food. They also have a hot breakfast in the morning. Its pet friendly too, with a $20 dollar non refundable fee. Its right off the highway 80 and easy to get to.
This was an overnight stop and for that purpose was fine. However, our rooms faced into a corridor/walkway, and although the corridor itself had a window, it would have been easy to get claustrophobic. The room was otherwise quite spacious and reasonably well fitted. Staff were friendly and helpful The pool was very nice indeed, although a shame the towels provided were not very big and there was no shower or changing facilities.
Came to this place during our roadtrip for a night or two. It didn't start well. Although I could not find my Best Western 'Silver' member card I asked the desk person to find me in her computer. To my dismay she found no record of my membership. This left me a bit perturbed, although to be fair and honest my card has not been used for quite some time. That being the case the desk person honored my retired military ID card and provided a discount fir which I not only felt was the right thing to do but was very appreciative, Moving on, the room was terrific. Breakfast was okay with a huge selection. All in all I again will continue to recommend BE properties, especially this one The hotel ratings prompt below is not working. I rate all 3 categories a 4..
This property has been beautifully updated in the recent past. It is a wonderful place to stay with all the amenities including a wonderful restaurant. The fitness room is top notch. Staff is very friendly.
We went on vacation and decided to plan our stop again at this hotel because we had such a great experience last time. Hotel was excellent as always, however, the restaurant was lacking this time. Dan and Victoria was working. Victoria was busting her butt to try to take care of everything. She even had to go to the kitchen to help the cook. Dan is nice but doesnt get in a hurry for anyone, it seemed. We were greeted first thing by Dan saying no credit cards - CASH ONLY!! I just think he could have presented it differently. It kinda made me feel he did not want us there maybe because they were busy. I'm not sure Dan is my first choice behind the bar. He seemed to boss the people around but I'm not sure what his role was. Anyway, the food came out cold and Victoria was running everywhere to try to get things done. Had to wait on our drinks alot and just wasn't on key. Will we stay here again? Yes, the hotel is great, probably won't eat there again. Victoria and Mindi were there last time and it was much more enjoyable. Also, the breakfast was lacking too. The bacon was not done and no one was eating it. Tell the breakfast cook, that even though the bacon is pre-cooked, it still needs to not be raw. One of the reasons why we stop at BW is the breakfast, but we might reconsider this one and try another hotel.
The rooms were very clean and nice. Bed was comfortable, and every worker we passed said hello with a smile! The guy who is over the breakfast was exceptional! He was so happy and friendly and the breakfast was very good and clean. We would recommend this motel to anyone!
Stayed July 2018 in a king room on the second floor. We are in our 60's and would have appreciated an elevator. The room was quite large. The bathroom had 2 sinks. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was really good, egg and cheese omelets, biscuits and gravy, sausage and all the typical fruit, yogurt, breads, etc. We don't mind paying a little more if the price includes a good breakfast and this one exceeded our expectations. My only suggestion.....we had bloody Mary's in the bar and they were very spicy, even for my husband who loves spicy foods. And they were $9 apiece. The bar wasn't very busy but service was very slow. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay.
This hotel exceeded our expectations and was a very comfortable bed and room! We came in last minute and they were able to get a room for us even though their computer systems had been down! It was delightful to take advantage of the pool the next morning after breakfast as well!
This doesn't appear to be a new facility, but it's well maintained, and quite large - room was spacious, large pool, lots of space to move around. Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable. Everything i needed.
Our car broke down in Rawlins and the great folks at Sportsmens Diesel and Auto repair gave us a ride here. Using booking.com we got a better rate than what the Sportsmens people could get for us. We ended up with a very spacious room with 2 queen beds. We didn't use the pool but the laundry room had 3 washers/3 dryers and a comfortable seating area just outside the room, close enough to hear when machines are done. The restaurant is part of the bar and was quite popular. Food great/reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning is a bountiful spread and the chef is cheerful and chatty. Upon hearing of our car trouble, the staff gave many great recommendations for helping us find a replacement vehicle. In fact, every person we met in Rawlins is kind and helpful!
Well, we drove from Indianapolis, IN to Rawlins WY in one day. That's a long drive with three kids. Finally arriving at 2 am and Holly was working front desk and what a pleasant surprise. She was cheerful, super friendly and showed empathy for the guest that checked in as I was appoaching the front desk. A fully booked hotel with only an upstairs room and the guest had bad knees but was happy to get the room. I did call ahead and let them know we would be checking in around 12 am but ended up being around 1:30 am. We asked for a first floor and close to an exit door. Though requests are not guaranteed, we we granted an amazing room. It was super clean, fresh, and VERY spacious. Let me try and paint a picture hahaha. It was outfitted with two doors, techniqually three (lol). One to the outside, one to the inside corridor, and an adjoining room door (though we didn't need it :) ) Beds super comfortable and all the linens cute looking. There was a cahir with ottoman, microwave, coffee with enough sugar packets to accomodate the four packs of coffee (yay!), two queen beds, a table, desk w chair, and dresser w tv. We were on the back side of Best Western but it was fabulous!!!! We did not check the pool out. We were informed prior to checking in that the hot tub is out of commission right now. We did not have the time to check it out. Checked in at 1:30 am and out abt 7 am. Thought about it though because it is open 24 hours. Now, the real treat, BREAKFAST. Dan was a charmer as well. Great attitude towards everyone, cracking jokes, and very attentive. Made sure all foods were well in stock for a very booked hotel. Well, there was allllll kinds of scrumptious foods!!!! Real plates and silverware. Paper was available if needed, but real dishware for a breakfast was very nice. The variety was really excellent as well. Not only the usual apples, oranges, bananas, pasteries, waffles, and cereal but much much more than that. There was french toast sticks, bacon, real fried potatos, three kinds of eggs (scambled, cheese omlete style, and boiled), cooked oatmeal with extra trimmings to add into it (yum!!), and fresh cut melons with grapes and pineapple. I must tell you everything was absolutely great. I think I sampled some of everything. Now to checkout. Yep what a pleasantry. Super fast and really easy. Would definitely stay again. Would definitely recommend. ****side note cheapest place to buy fuel for miles and miles is exit 311 $3.08 per gallon) or exit 386 ($2.99 per gallon on South side of freeway). We use diesel fuel & in Rawlins it was $3.45 a gallon, boo (lol).
I tend to stay here more than any other hotel in Rawlins , they are the cleanest, kindest, and I feel the best at keeping your privacy just that, yours. Quiet area, even with a main street out front. Best sleep I get when on the road.
Traveling alone with 3 kids, this hotel was clean, friendly, updated, and easy! Having a door to the car and a door to the hall made packing easy! Breakfast was great. I would seek out this hotel to stay here again! Very affordable for what you get!
My husband and I arrived last night at 10:40 pm. When I got to the front desk to check in there were three people waiting ahead of me. I had made a reservation online which helped when it was my turn at the counter, however, by that time there were three more people behind me not counting the gentleman that waited for a bit and then left. Karon was very professional and did her best but they simply needed another counter clerk. Between all of the people waiting to check in and the phone ringing, she had her hands full. It took about 20 minutes to check in. Our room was very nice, spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of towels, and the air conditioning kept the room at a comfortable temperature. The real jewel of our stay was Dan and the crew at breakfast. The food was good and there was a nice variety, but when Dan met us with a handshake and a welcoming smile it elevated our experience from mundane to exceptional. Throughout our breakfast, the crew was attentive and friendly. They clearly understand the value of making guests feel welcome and appreciated. We left the hotel feeling happy with our stay even though we ran into the same problem others have mentioned with the advertised price online being about $60 cheaper than the price we were actually charged. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for the spacious rooms and professional, friendly staff.
We decided to try and stay at affordable options on our road trip to California. We had booked a room at the local econo lodge, and made last minute decision to stay at the best western. It was TOTALLY worth it. Pool isn't huge but it's nice. The room was bigger than expected. The staff was great. If you want a 5-Star hotel, this isn't your place. If you're looking for a place to sleep that isn't dumpy and not spendy... this is a great option!
Price online advertised is $95-105... actually,$152...no elevator and I'm 69 years old...rooms nice, pools nice, pleasant bar/restaurant...on phone stated they matched advertised price...not once you arrive, bad part of town and 1 1/3 back to better hotels
This hotel is badly in need of a remodel. Although reasonably clean, it was not up to our minimal standards. I usually disinfect bathroom and TV remote surfaces in hotel rooms upon arrival and don't often find them to be dirty, but this time I noticed the tile floor adjacent to the bathroom area was pretty dirty, and worse, I found a few hairs in the bathroom left behind by previous occupants. The odor coming from the AC was unpleasant, suggesting there was probably mildew in it. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, breads, fruit, etc., but none of it was well prepared or presented (although coffee was pretty good). Positives included a professional staff, a spacious room, a second sink separate from the bathroom, extra coffee packs, large flat screen TV with many channels and movies, a comfortable mattress, and in our room two entrances (one to the parking lot). If the room price was $80 or less, that would better justify the conditions.
Clean, comfortable and quiet. I asked for a quiet room and was given exactly what I asked. Breakfast was VERY GOOD. Lots of choices. I would highly recommend. Close to the highway but not too close. The pool Looked very inviting. The rooms are large and up to date. No complaints about anything. Perfect.
I have stayed at this hotel on business for many years. The last few years have been the worst experiences ever. Example: Last night there was one person to bartend and serve food. It is tourist season and the restaurant was busy. The manager asked if she needed help and walked away. I saw him moments later at the reception counter with another receptionist not a customer insight. This is just one example of the service you can expect to receive. The same day my room was made up and they didn't empty the trash, which was very full? The list goes on and on.... If, however, you don't expect anything except a place to sleep, then it's a viable option. I will be staying at the Hampton or Holiday going forward.
Stopped here after a very long day of riding, Front desk employees were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were fairly priced and nice, and clean. Waitress in the lounge was fun and food was good. Wonderful hot breakfast included.
We needed a room with 2 queen beds for 2 adults. Was given a price of $199! No way would I pay that much for a night. Funny how the price came down to $119. We were put in the older section and had to walk quite a long way to the pool and breakfast. We are all in our 70s and that was a long walk.
We stayed here last night, while on our way to yellowstone. Check in was quick and easy. We had reserved online, which helped. The hotel was clean and updated. Our room had a king size bed and a sofa bed. It worked great for my husband, myself, two teenagers and a toddler. The room was very modern and clean. I loved the pillows and linens were very comfortable. The selection for breakfast was very good. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
We checked in late but our room was very modern and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we appreciate the abundance of towels in the shower. The best part was the breakfast bar! The gentleman who was attending it (I'm sorry, I forgot his name) was very warm and welcoming! And the variety of food available was impressive. We were delighted to not have to stop again for breakfast.
I experienced another great stay with Best Western. Second night in a row, except for it being a different state. I ended up needing to rest and found a Best Western near my location and it was another great night.
Best Western was awesome they matched the price I got on Expedia which was quite a bit less! Since I had a brand new puppy, it was nice having a door leading to the parking lot instead of having to walk thru the entire hotel!
This was an easily reached hotel and it provided a very comfortable experience. The staff were quick to resolve a problem with the room keys and the breakfast was exceptionally good as was the host on duty in the breakfast area.
Best western has never let us down. The staff got us the best deal, were very nice and professional. This hotel is a little pricey but worth it. The breakfast is very good also. The hotel is by the freeway but the rooms are quiet.
I had to stay in Rawlins for a day due to hazardous road conditions and ended up staying here. I was VERY happy here! Indoor swimming pool, clean room, comfortable bed, very good breakfast and the staff was very friendly and helpful!
I love Best Western!!!!!This hotel is exceptionally nice and clean and great everything. I would recommend anyone coming through to stay here. I use this for business trips and stop in to stay here on the way. The rooms are clean and good priced and the staff are amazing. Definitely stay here if in the area!!!!
The hotel was gorgeous! The staff was amazing especially the breakfast host. However the “pet” areas were very dirty. If both areas were picked up daily I would give this hotel 10 stars. The staff should walk these areas at least once a day. Even though there were dog stations with bags, we all know that some people will choose not to use them. I would stay again. I paid $20.00 pet fee and thought it was too much for my 5 pound dog. The night before I stayed at Best Western Grand Junction and paid $10.00 and there pet area was immaculate.
The Staff and facility are super. The local summer concert series artists all stay at this motel. This is usually their only touch besides the concert they have with Rawlins. The reviews I get back from them are wonderful. They can be counted on to be informative about the community usually getting guests to spend a little time in our wonderful Wyoming community. They are not just an address in the city they are an active business in the community. Highly recommended
Moved to this place because it had a hot tub since I was stuck here for almost three weeks. After three days they ran out of chemicals and would not go get new ones??? Lazy management!!! Two weeks and there's stores right down the road. I asked many times and they jyst kept saying ask the GM.
First of all, unfortunately, Rawlins as a community has seen better times, so it's tough to be too critical. The Cottontree has been nicely renovated on the exterior and adequately, though inexpensively on the interior. Also, I appreciated that fact that they are pet friendly since I usually have one or more of my dogs along, even with a rather stiff (for the level of accommodations), a $20 pet fee. This said, the staff, except for Wendy who was very accommodating, lacked basic training. For instance, our satellite TV died during the Olympics and the front desk offered no solution, much less empathy, plus they couldn't tell me how to dial the restaurant from the room. As for housekeeping, the room and common areas just weren't very clean with dirty towels left in the room, dirty carpets in the halls, etc. The surrounding exterior area is primarily paved or stones, tough for pets. There is a park about a block away to walk the dogs, but when I went there in the dark, I counted at least a dozen feral cats and was reluctant to use the area. All this said, for Rawlins the choices aren't great.
Rooms were large bathroom was large also ,very clean. beds were good also .Desk clerk was nice and helpful . Indoor pool area was GREAT . Breakfast was hot and offered several things for any one. Dan ,the cook was very helpful and friendly ,quite the personality . Great lodging here.
We stay here with our company every time we travel here for work, place is very comfortable quiet and folks are very friendly.I wouldn't stay anywhere else but Best Western, stayed in many other establishments but this hotel is the best and it has it all
This place is great!! We stayed here un-planned on a Satruday night after we couldn't drive any longer on I-80. The parking lot had a few cars but still plenty of room for us to parallel park across several stalls with a truck and trailer. There were a few other trucks and trailers as well. The reception lady was super nice and even gave us 10% off when I asked if she could help me with cost. The hotel itself is either a new build, or recently remodeled. It is very nice inside! Nothing over the top but I was very impressed for a cheap hotel is Rawlins, WY. Our room was clean, lots of pillows on the beds, which is nice because I'm a pillow hoarder. Shower was clean and had hot water etc. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice and hot tub was running, looked hot etc. Best part was free breakfast buffet in the morning! Food was great and the attendant was super nice and talkative. Overall this was the perfect little rest spot for us. I would stay again without hesitation! I don't often take the time for reviews, but after our stay I made time to give this place the credit it deserves.
This was the best hotel we stayed in on our entire 18 day trip west. Very large clean room. Convenient lounge and restaurant with good food. Great beds plus 2 sinks in the room. We really enjoyed our stay. Very easy on/off I 80. Would definitely stop here again.
Our king bed room was furnished with a couch and so very spacious. Everything felt new and a huge bonus was two sinks. Great shower (but also could hear the shower from the room below us plenty well) and good bed. Very attractive and spacious breakfast area. The front desk even had little “To Go” snack sacks for guests to take on the road.
We decided to stay in Rawlins en route between Denver and Yellowstone - mainly because a certain songwriter included Rawlins in a song! The room at the Best Western Cottontree Inn was really big. The staff were really helpful and provided a good breakfast before we headed out on our travels. The pool was not open when we were there. If you need to stay in Rawlins - then I would recommend this hotel as it provides the essentials. For those travelling from UK - there was no mobile/cell signal from Vodafone when based there due to the location - you were ok in the hotel using the wifi but when walking about Rawlins - there was no signal. Rawlins has a big Walmart at one end ... it is a quiet town and it is not hugely geared for visitors. We did see tumbleweed ... but people were friendly - even though it was clear we were visitors.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing with many different varieties of hot food to chose from. The staff was excellent and friendly. The fitness center was great and the rooms were clean. Although the bed was comfortable I feel they could have been upgraded. I would definitely stay at this hotel in the future. It was excellent
First use, last minute reservation while on the road, easily done, I believe a somewhat to large of a markup fee for the room, but a nice room. My son and I were traveling from Idaho , leaving a hunting trip, trying to beat a snow storm, needed a last minute room for the night and were glad for the reservation, thanks for the hospitality.
Very nicely located. In between Denver and Salt Lake City. Also located near Grand Teton. Had we known we would take this route we would have planned better. Wish we had more time to take in the sights of the surrounding area.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bar was open and bartender was very friendly. She answered all our questions and gave us some suggestions on what to do. Stopped on a whim and was given a room. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
We were very pleasantly surprised to find a hotel that still had a bar and restaurant in the facility, which is extremely rare but so nice that we didn't have to get in our car to find a place to eat.
Staff very friendly. I don't know the name of the gentleman in charge of the breakfast but he made my day, so friendly, talkative, warmth, funny a very charismatic and sweet person. The hotel is a nice place to stay.
After driving all day in an U-Haul, I was glad to see the BW sign. Check in was fast and friendly and my room was close by. I asked where I should park the truck and they were very helpful. Room was very clean but a little over “fre- breezed”.had to run the the bathroom fan and the room unit to get the smell out. Told Joseph aka Joey and he replied that he would pass it on to housekeeping. Bar and restaurant were very good and Mindy was delightful to talk to and had suggestions on dinner. Only downside to stay is the jacuzzi not working. Breakfast is a full fledge breakfast with something to satisfy everyone. If you plan on stopping in Rawlins, give this BW a try. You won't be disappointed.
We stayed here on our way to our daughters. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly and professional. We had our dog with us and it was no problem. The room was clean and convenient to the dog area.
will stay again. do wish that the hot tub worked more often. staff is polite and professional. restaurant was a good meal to have after a long day of work with a relaxing atmosphere. Rooms were nice and clean.
We always stay here on our trip south each year. Love the place. Everyone is always friendly & willing to help any way they can. The only draw back is that the service I the lounge is always super slow. They seem to be terribly understaffed. The food is always good, but if you're not Patient person, you will not be happy!!!
My husband and I stayed here while he was working in Sinclair. When he works out of town, he usually opts for a budget hotel. But since I was visiting we chose to stay at Best Western. The price was affordable and it had good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very nice and clean. Our room was larger than I expected. It was very comfortable. I had some concerns about the location. It is away from some of the others hotel chains and stores. But those concerns were unfounded. I felt very safe and it was a quiet area. The staff was very friendly. There were fresh cookies, coffee and ice water available in the lobby. Breakfast was nice. Overall I was impressed by the cleaniness, room size and safety of hotel. I will stay here again if my husband is working in the area.
We love staying at the best western cotton tree. We loved the food and drinks from Victoria and Mindy! Great service at the bar and restaurant! Food is pricey but good. We always split our meals anyway. I had forgotten that there was not an elevator to our room. Everything went well until the smoke alarm went off and the hotel had to be evacuated. Apparently there was a problem with the hot tub pump. It was a great way to mingle with the other guests in 18deg weather. They handled the situation well and everything was good. It only took about 15 minutes to get everything done. When I called to book a room directly, the price was more than the website. Better to book online than directly. Rates were 109 directly and 93 online. Breakfast was good and Dan does a great job. Beds and bathroom was great. Two sinks in the king suite helped out in the morning. Yes we will definitely stay again!
Best hotel we stayed in on our ten day trip. Everything was perfect. Every member of the hotel staff was superb. Everyone went above and beyond our expectations. The room was an outstanding value. The breakfast was unbelievable and so many choices. This was the only hotel that asked for our feedback.
I travel to Rawlins for work a decent amount, and at least once a month and I need to stay the night. I'll be honest, about a year ago I acidently booked my room at the Best Western. I typically stayed on the other side of town in a newer hotel, but decided to go with my mistake. It was a fantastic mistake because I have been going back since. The hotel itself is nice, but one of the main reasons I've been going back is because of the bar and restaurant. After a few stays and visits I was sold on the experiance. One particular staff member is a lot of fun and I always look forward to seeing her. Myndi is very personable and handles herself better than most bar tenders I've ever seen. Even on the busiest nights she makes sure you're taken care of and let's you know you're not forgotten. I've watched her deal with unruly guest and put up with more than I think she should. She lets derogatory names and other rude statements bounce off her like they weren't said, but as soon as it's impacts others she quickly and sternly gets a handle on it. Then With a shake of the head and a smile she gets back to work. I truly enjoy staying at the Best Western In Rawlins. I talk with Myndi more than others because I sit at the bar for a drinks, dinner, and to watch a ball game if it's on, but the majority of the Staff is great. Victoria has also made a positive impression. Please give credit where credit is due. In my eyes, it goes to Myndi and Victoria who I think was trained by Myndi three or four months ago. Thank you for your time and... Go Gertie!
We've started at this hotel on several trips as Snowbirds from Canada. Have always had a comfortable clean room. The staff is friendly and the breakfast next morning is the best we've had. Dan is an amazing host in the dining room and always makes you feel welcome.
The staff and rooms at this BW is wonderful from the front desk to the breakfast. This was out 2nd stay and we wil stay again. The breakfast is fresh and good with a lot of choices and the place is so clean. Best part family friendly.
I-80 was shut down due to high winds so we had to find a motel and had our lab with us. Cottonwood Inn was available and pet friendly. The pet rooms have outside door access besides hallway access so you can take the dog for a walk without any hassle and can still walk inside to the restaurant, bar, etc.. staff was awesome! No problems they couldn't answer or take care of for us!
Check in was simple and staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Decor was really nice! Kind of Western/rustic/industrial. Room was clean and comfortable with no problems. The breakfast bar was really good with plenty of options, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Well done!
I am on the BW Reward program because BW is always consistently the best place to stay value wise, cleanliness, quality mattress and great staff. We stay here on our way to Colorado twice a year. It is a very nice place to stay.
We had a delightful stay it the Cotton Tree. Building was clean and comfortable and the staff pleasant and helpful. The restaurant staff were pleasant and the food 4+ out of 5. The name of the restaurant is the Turnbuckle (I think). Couldn't find any restaurant under a name search, but it was on one of the menus I saw. It may be the name of the connecting lounge/bar. Overall, a great place to relax and get a good nights sleep.
I am traveling with the trailer they were very helpful and where I can park it and there was plenty of room. Hotels in a great spot for a rest stop and gave us a nice break on a very long journey. The entire staff have great upbeat attitudes.
Everything worked. Room was clean and quiet. Property is a little tired and well used. All of the staff are very friendly. We had dinner in the bar, and the service was excellent and the food was decent. Free breakfast was the same. They charged $20 or $25 for our dog...which I also resent. Great location and easy to get too.
If you have to stop along I-80 in Wyoming, this is the place! 24hr pool, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and plenty of parking. Breakfast was good. I stayed on my home from a business trip and will be bringing the family back.
All was nice, clean and comfortable, :) We requested upper floor and quiet location and had a wonderful nights rest. Everyone is very friendly, but watch out for the older guy at the breakfast area, even if you are friendly and answer him, he does not know when to stop!
Great after a long drive day. Started snowing as we moved into our room!!! We woke up to about 4" on our vehicle. Fortunately with all the amenities available we did not even have to leave the building to enjoy a good meal in the Restaurant/lounge/bar. An equally good breakfast in the morning before we had to hit the road again. Thank you
After a hard day of driving , had a nice comfy room, dinner, and a nice breakfast! So great not to have to leave after driving all day! This hotel had everything we needed!! Right near the highway exit and could use aarp for a discount!
Since night time temps were going to be near freezing and we had only a tent trailer- we punted and stayed at one of the Best motels we've been to in a long time. With AAA discount- price was good. Room had a door to inside corridor, plus one to outside - making it easy to take the Dogger Do outside. Nice bathroom and amenities plus a microwave and fridge. Good breakfast- plus grab and go bags and a place to park with tent trailer still hitched up. Enjoyed this room.(# 161) There is also a lounge and bar onsite.
When I made our reservation, I indicated that I would like one close to the lobby, as I use a walker to help me get around with my arthritis. They assigned us a very large and comfortable room, with both an inside and outside entrance, with parking right outside our room. Everything about the room suited our needs perfectly, including the large bathroom, with hand holds, the sofa for relaxing and the very comfortable bed. It was a little more expensive than some we stayed in on our trip, but you get what you pay for, and this was work the extra few dollars. If we make another trip to Colorado, I will make certain that we use this hotel again!
This BW is a bit pricey but really worth it. The rooms are really nice, very comfortable. The shower head was a bit weird, that could be changed to work better. But the breakfast is incredible with the best muffins! Also everything else you'd expect at a nice breakfast and the service and people are so nice! We will definitely stay there again if in the area.
The Best Western Cotton Tree Inn in Rawlins was a nice surprise. The lobby area was very attractive and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I liked how our room had an outside door and an inside door - it felt very safe and we were able to park right outside the room. The room has a king bed, with a microwave and refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. A nice addition to the hotel was the restaurant inside the hotel. We ate dinner there and the meal was excellent and very affordable. The waitress was a pleasure! Breakfast was good - a normal continental breakfast - but plenty to get us back on the road. The gentleman in charge of the area was very nice and accommodating. A great night's stay - all the way around!!!
This hotel is wonderful. Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. We were able to park right in front of the room, and had both inside and outside door, which made it easy to load and unload car, plus didn't need to go out in the rain to go to the breakfast room. Breakfast room is nice, with lots of seating. Nice choices for breakfast.
We have been traveling for two weeks staying in assorted hotels and this Best Western had the biggest and best breakfast selection. Room was adequate but needed a few repairs which we brought to the attention of the front desk. There is no elevator. You also need to be aware that even with the curtains closed there is a gap that allows those in the hallway to see into your room. Just move a chairs over to hold curtains in place.
Was very happy with this Next western. The room was clean, beds comfortable, lots of pillows and outlets. Front desk staff was helpful and breakfast as good as it gets for best western. Hot tub was not working and I am still saying five stars.
Yeah, Rawlins, WY .... home of our State Petitionary ... a lot of local history as well but if traveling through on I-80, this hotel is the place to stay! As a bonus, the art and relics throughout the lobby, breakfast, dining areas and throughout the open spaces are amazing.
We arrived and met Wendy at the front desk...friendly and most helpful. The lobby area is most attractive and the breakfast room, swimming pool/hot tub, and restaurant are all centrally located in this area. Our room had an outside as well as an inside door and we were able to park right outside the room. The room has a king bed with sleep sofa and a large bathroom area with two sinks. It has a microwave and small fridge. Wifi seemed to go in and out. We ate dinner at the restaurant here in the hotel and it was excellent and very affordable. Breakfast was good as it is what we're accustomed to with BW. The area is large and very nice. We would definitely stay here when passing through Rawlins!
The hotel is far enough off the Interstate that traffic noise posed no problems. The room was very nicely arrange and clean. Nice breakfast but no microwave or working toaster. I would have given this hotel a 4 rating if it were not for Wi-Fi problems. Contacted the desk-no help, contacted Hotel Internet Service-no help, Hotel Internet Service said they would call right back with a fix, four hours later they called back. If you travel and depend on Wi-Fi in a hotel, you may have problems.
This was one of the poorer Best Westerns I have experienced although it was the most expensive. I liked the touches of the water dispensers in the lobby but once into the room area the carpets were so dirty. I opened the bed and there was a hair on the sheet, in the bathroom the drain was not istalled properly and the shower head spewed water everywhere. I adjusted it to several positions but could never get a soft flow. The bed was comfortable and the internet worked well.
This BW was top quality in everyway. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic! Would definitely stay here again if visiting the Rawlins WY area. Did not use the pool or hot tub but the pool area looked very inviting. I did use the laundry facilities and they were in good working order and the machines were priced reasonably and clean. Had dinner in the resturant, Cobb salad with chicken, and it was excellent. One of the best dinners I had during my 15 day vacation.
Stayed a night on my way to Sturgis, SD. What a treat! The entire front of the hotel has been remodeled in a modern look manner. Spacious eating area for breakfast with numerous items to choose from, a remodeled bar with plenty of tables/bar stools, and a wonderful indoor pool. The room was spacious with convenient parking right outside. Friendly people and good food - I recommend this hotel!
Of all the Best Western hotels we've stayed at from California to Grand Rapids Michigan and back, this was the priciest place even with a military discount. But it was also the best and luxurious place to have stayed. Two thumbs up. Looking over the place and the amenities it offers such as the out of this world breakfast bar, the suite rooms, the indoor hall ways without having to go outside to enter the pool, business room, the front desk, I can see why the cost is high. We found the rooms very spacious, comfortable, quiet and with a hall outside your room separating from the outside parking lot, you do not hear the outside noise at all. So very quite. The staff are nice, friendly and courteous. The breakfast bar is out of this world with what it had to offer. Waffle makers, hot and cold cereal with lots of toppings not found at your normal Best Western hotels. Fruits, juices, coffee, eggs bacon, sausages, and a very friendly, helpful, service orientated host who oversees the breakfast bar makes this place a delightful place to stay and so enjoyable. This is an upscale Best Western hotel. Lucky for us we had enough reward points to cover the cost for one of two rooms because my daughter could not afford it herself. We will definitely return to this place on our next family trip to the Midwest.
Great hotel with great ammenities. Lost hot water on the evening of our last night, reported it, and still had no hot water by 9:00am the next morning. We were offered a choice to use a room in another part of the hotel but we just decided to check out a little early. I felt bad for some of the people that were there for work reasons and needed that shower.
We planned to stay based on the location on the map. Once we were there it was clear that we made a great choice. The Motel was clean, has great support systems -- breakfast, restaurant, staff, pool and location. I would come back and I did. It is now on my list of great places to stay.
Friendly helpful staff. Bar was calm and cozy. The breakfast was very good. The best I've had at a best western so far. The only bad thing room smelled strong of fabreeze or some sort of air freshener.
The family and I stayed here for one night, and would've been longer but they're swimming pool was out of commission. Knowing that I had kids, the motel should've informed me that the swimming pool was out of order. Other than that the motel was quiet, and the breakfast buffet was good in the morning.
After a 750-mile day the Cotton tree was a perfect splurge. Efficient and pleasant Eric at the front desk. Clean, attractive, spacious room with two sinks, huge TV, sofa, desk and desk chair. The room smelled clean, not like it had been Febreezed into submission. The pool and hot tub are open 24 hours, we had a lovely float, admiring the stacked stone wall and the way-better-than-average artwork. King bed and pillows were very comfortable. Nice breakfast, too. So glad we chose this place!
This is the greatest Best Western we have stayed in within the United States. The rooms were wonderful, the staff outstanding, the restaurant's food and service were excellent, and the lounge even had a pool table! Wow! If this is any evidence of the direction Best Western is going, they could be the best moderately priced chain in the US!
We are on our way again across country from Idaho to Washington DC and are not vacationing this trip but driving thru with long hours. This was our first night out on road and we absolutely loved this hotel! The bed was so comfortable and the accommodations of the workout room, lounge/restaurant, pool, breakfast bar and staff was one of the best places we stayed at all summer!! Pet friendly and had good access to small park nearby. Will definitely stop on way home!! Dinner was country cooking with good menu and delicious food. Mark this as a stop!
We really enjoyed this hotel from the fresh baked cookies when we arrived to the wonderful food in their restaurant. Good experience, except unfortunately, the pool had an issue .Other than that, it was a really nice stay.
On our way to the total solar eclipse we were surprised that we were able to find a room at the Best Western in Rawlins. It is a very nice hotel, one of the nicest we have ever stayed in anywhere. Great customer service and the gentleman who runs the breakfast buffet was exceptional.
We traveled to Wyoming for eclipse viewing in August and decided to overnight in Rawlins on the way to Casper. The staff were welcoming and efficient despite being busy with eclipse crowds. The rooms were clean and well maintained. It looks like they renovated to enclose main building rooms that were formerly motel style (direct access to the outside). To disagree with a previous reviewer, the enclosed layout seems safer and also will be warmer and more convenient in the winter. The lobby and décor, bedding, finishes etc. were fresh and appear recently updated. It might be overpriced but there are few towns in the area that have clean and safe accommodation.
Very clean, comfortable. Very good experience and will definitely stay here again if I need a room in the area. Service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast serving staff/attendants were excellent and made the experience very enjoyable.
Based on hotel reviews and pricing at the time I was making the reservation, I chose to stay at Best Western in Rawlins. The room we were given (125) was a little strange in that the window looked out onto a glassed-in corridor. Nothing particularly wrong with that, but it meant that there was no window opening to the outside. This might not have mattered except that the room smelled strongly of cleaning agents, a smell which lessened but never quite went away. (I did tell the desk clerk the next morning, and she said she'd talk to housekeeping.) Also, the internet connection was not reliable. Had trouble connecting & after I was connected, it cut out after a few minutes, so I gave up. On the positive side, the room was clean & quiet with the usual amenities, although the refrigerator did not have a freezer compartment for freezing our ice packs for our cooler. The hot breakfast was one of the better ones (in terms of selection & quality) I've seen at a chain hotel . However, on the whole, I thought the room was a little expensive for what it was. Probably would try some place different if we stay in Rawlins again.
Rawlins is economically depressed. There were a couple dozen motels on the main strip, almost all of them closed. The other inn I considered looked in funky shape; I chose Best Western because of that. Room was clean and spacious (two beds). For some reason, however, the TV power cord was unplugged. I had to upend the TV to find the outlet and plug it in. Weird. The pool and spa were out of order, but were being worked on while I was there. It was reasonable and I had no problems other than the TV issue.
We arrived late in the evening after a long drive. The motel is a little strangely arranged with some rooms having direct outside access and some in the main building. This was not explained by the front desk staff. I walked into the bathroom to find my sandals were sticking to the floor and leaving black marks everywhere I stepped. We reported it and a man came and sprayed the floor with a cleaner. He said he could mop it with bleach water but it would stink. Our choice...We finally got extra towels and completely blanketed the bathroom floor with them. The staff was not very concerned! This motel was ranked on several sites as the #1 place to stay. if it is....I would hate to see the rest of the motels! Keep driving!
Room was good, staff was helpful. Pool was out of order and laundry also, but we would not have used the pool anyway and there was a laundry across the street. The breakfast was good and staff was particularly friendly and helpful.
Newly renovated and pleasant stay. Restaurant was very good in an out of the way location. The desk staff was very helpful to people looking for things to do with their children. A very pleasant stay.
This hotel is huge and has all the amenities you would want! It's very clean and comfortable, affordable; staff and service are superb! The breakfast room was above and beyond the average and staff(particularly one man) was extremely friendly, courteous, accommodating and hilarious! Out of our entire trip of all the hotels we stayed in, even though they were very, very nice - I would have to say that this one beats them all, hands down! If we are ever in Rawlins again, we will only stay here!
Rooms were extremely large with comfortable beds- there was a sink in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. Breakfast was good - especially liked the oatmeal with all the toppings, waffles and rolls. Dan, the breakfast host, was extremely helpful and pleasant. Friendly staff - would recommend!
The large room was very comfortable and clean including the bathroom. Bed was comfortable and we had an excellent night of sleep. Breakfast was very nice and I would not hesitate to stay at this facility again although the price seemed a bit high.
This hotel had great staff, was finely updated, and clean...overall incredible value! We traveled all the way from NorCal and this place was an oasis on I-80! Ranae @ front desk was very helpful attuned to our wishes. She was kind, patient and a pleasure to our family. Dan in the dining room offered excellent advice on the local and statewide area...way above and beyond what he is expected to do I'm sure. The rooms, lobby, and dining areas were extremely lavish, updated, and high class with granite, wood features and you could tell they updated the place without sparing expense. Food from the restaurant was very good and they offered a decent variety. Rooms were very clean and we stayed on a week day -- we got an incredible rate which made the whole experience worth sharing with anyone looking for a nice place to stay. If in the area again, we will come again!
This Inn has the best facilities I have stayed in. Breakfast was superb even cooked to order offerings. Bar and Restaurant, not available in many Inns, was a great convenience, very comfortable and a great menu. Very helpful and engaging staff. They really took care of me. A great stay!
Friendly staff and nice facilities. Rooms were large and comfortable. Bed were very comfortable. No elevator about there is only two floors. Breakfast was disappointing but free. Wifi was slow even though we were close to office.
This was a gorgeous hotel. After a hot sweaty day how nice it was to check in to this hotel. The food was great- I got a steak. The drinks were good. The hotel pool and hot tub was clean and nice. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was all helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again.
My impression of Best Westerns have always been biased simply because Austin, Texas is not a big Best Western area. The ones that I have seen in that area are dying. But this was a jewel in the dessert! It needs a bit of work on the outside but when you walked in to your room it feels like you are walking in to a higher end hotel. The rooms have been renovated and especially the bathrooms. Marble counter tops, tile showers.
This property is emblematic of why we come back to Best Western. It's a modest hotel with a truly wonderful, caring staff. Food and beverage were top rate -- for Rawlins, WY. Prices were moderate, even by Rawlins, WY standards.
This hotel provided a great, comfortable place to stay. The hotel and room was clean and provided a good comfortable stay. The breakfast was hot and fresh & the gentleman who was taking care of the breakfast really takes care to make sure your experience is good. Great value for the money spent.
the room was excellent and things were great. they just placed a senior couple far from all the restaurants and on the second floor and no elevator. the pool was down as the hot-tub was down also. So no relaxing in hot tub. we actually booked through Hotel.com
A nice oasis in the desert. Great employees that add a positive dimension to the normal Best Western experience. Definitely a great place to consider if you are traveling down the I 80 corridor. Will stay here again.
Another passing through Hotel, Rawlins is a "stopover town", but if ever you are in the vacinity and need somewhere to stay, you cannot do better than the BW Cotton Tree. The oustanding feature of the room, which we had, was the shower cubicle and it's water saving feature, it was big enough for two!!!! It has it's own Restaurant, no hunting for somewhere to eat, prices reasonable and fare is basic, but well cooked. All in all, strongly recommended. Value rating is reduced, because we chose an expensive period. Location is near to through road.
Last minute change of plans, we stopped at this Best Western location in route to Cheyenne. We were very pleased with the staff, the amenities and appearance of the hotel in and out. Would stay here again even if we were not planning to stop.
Mindy was the best bartender we had that night, she was quick and knowledgeable. Made traveling a better experience by being kind and patient with us even as we drank all night. The rooms are clean and cool in the summer time. The breakfast is decent but the guy dan in the morning is more annoying than helpful found myself walking in and hearing him crack the same joke he says everyday about the decaf coffe and walking out to get breakfast elsewhere so I could eat in peace.
Wonderful hotel and staff. We needed a ground floor and they accommodated our needs with a beautiful room! The room had inside and outside access and we were able to park right by the door. Breakfast was very good and clean. Slept great in their beds.
Long time client and owners continue to ignore need for help in bar and restaurant. 50 seats and one employee. Employee is great but cannot handle it. Nice hotel but time to move on. It is sad because it is the nicest hotel in rawlins.
Rawlins is a convenient stop while driving through southern Wyoming. This was our second visit. The staff were pleasant, breakfast was wonderful, parking was easy. The room was clean and quiet. Located near I-80, this hotel is easy to find.
My wife and I were traveling from Omaha, NE to California, and chose this location as a reasonable waypoint, then searched for a Best Western. Very convenient location just off I-80. Very clean, room was reasonably spacious with 2 queen beds, microwave (I think), and refrigerator. Breakfast was good, with waffles, eggs, and many other healthy options. Definitely would use again.
Stayed here after a long day on the road from WA, and everything was perfectly satisfactory. Right off the interstate and easy to get to. Renea at the desk was cheerful, polite, and helpful. The room was clean and larger than we expected, and traveling with a dog was made much easier by being in a room with an exterior door that was less than a block from a cute little park! (Way cool locomotive!) We did not check out the lounge and the restaurant, but the CTI is the only BW property we've stayed at so far that had those amenities. The parking lot on our end of the building was well lit and had a doggy sanitary station. The breakfast area was nice with the booths, the food had a few variations that we'd not seen at other properties, which was a nice change, and the attendant acted more like an actual server than just an attendant. He was very cheerful for that hour of the morning. LOL! All in all, a completely pleasant stay.
We were impressed by a clean and updated facility and supportive service oriented staff. Breakfast was great, with a good variety and enthusiastic staff. Pool was clean and staff were focused on a positive experience for children and adults.
Good service from lounge and restaurant. We were traveling far so it was convenient to have a restaurant in the hotel. The hotel is very nice and has nice decor. Pillows are not comfortable though....
I stay at this hotel whenever I am working in Rawlins. I always get excellent service and first rate accommodations. The front desk staff and wait staff in the restaurant are always friendly and helpful. The food is very good. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who needs a break from I-80 traffic. It's close to downtown, other restaurants, and the Territorial Prison (historical landmark and tourist stop.)
Great hotel the our room was big and clean the bed was confortable and everything worked great. the staff was nice and ready with any help they could give. the breakfast was very good and they ;had a great choice of items. We would staythere again
Headed to D.C. and was so surprised as to the quality and service at the Best Western in Rawlins, Wyoming! Our room was cozy and the beds were very comfortable. I will be sure to select a Best Western Hotel on my next road trip.
This hotel had it all. Great price and easy online booking. Great customer service at check-in. Comfortable, large, disability accessible room. Warm pool and hot tub that clean, stocked with towels, and comfortable room temperature. Beds were comfortable. Room had outside and interior corridor access which was a great bonus when traveling with companions who have limited walking. Breakfast was a hot buffet with waffles, French toast sticks, bacon, frittata, fruit, cereal, etc. Check out smooth and easy. Thanks Best Western for a great night in Rawlins.
Got to the hotel late, Holly was great and got us to our room right away. The room was very clean and well appointed. We had stayed at this property back in the 80's was very surprised of the new construction. Very nice, I would recommend this place to any one traveling thru WY.
Split travel time going on vacation and stayed at this Best Western going. Grand Daughter inadvertently left her purse. Called while on vacation and her purse had been turned in. We enjoyed our stay so much while going decided to retrieve purse and stay coming home. Purse had money, camera and other items inside. And all was retrieved. The accommodations, staff, and overall experience was excellent. Highly recommend staying here.
We enjoyed our room, breakfast was fantastic, dinner was awesome, as was our waitress. I was dissatisfied with the front desk clerk at this hotel. She was preoccupied. The interior lock was broken . The conveince of the dinner house was wonderful
For a smaller town this Hotel and everything and more! We checked in late at night, the clerk was fast and got us checked right in. The rooms were very clean, very comfortable beds. We had some breakfast the next morning. Lots of choices form Biscuits and Gravy, eggs, Sweet rolls, Cereal. Great for kids To many positives to fit in this review!
We'll that's what happened and we were lucky enough to be stranded at the Best Western Cottonwood Inn in Rawlins, Wyoming by the closure of I-80 for 150 miles during a May snowstorm. It is a well-equipped building with interior corridors linking the sleeping rooms with a fitness room, an indoor pool, a lounge and restaurant & a very pleasant lobby sitting area. I think there was also a business center. Our room, which had doors to both the outside parking lot and to the interior corridor, was spacious with a desk, comfortable sitting and a convenient bathroom setup and, given the snowstorm and resultant conditions outside, it was a joy to be there. As Californians, although we did have the ability to layer our clothing, we were unprepared for the blizzard conditions. A 4-wheel drive got us there safely but the amenities and staff at the Cottontree Inn made the difference in our ability to enjoy our stay.
We recently found ourselves a bit stranded in Rawlins given a blizzard that closed I-80 and checked in last minute into the Best Western Cottontree. The rooms was very nice, clean and quiet. The front desk staff was super friendly, courteous, professional and knowledgable, even under what were very stressed circumstances with many frazzled travelers. Also, I have to say for a chain hotel the breakfast was not bad and was served by very funny, friendly staff and the bar/restaurant was both lively and pretty darn tasty. I would stay here again if traveling this part of the country.
We were stuck in Rawlins due to a I-80 road closure and we were so grateful to have a place where our kids could swim in a pool that didn't stink like chlorine and play while the storm raged outside. The food was good and the rooms were clean.
Very clean, good service, the morning breakfast is very good. The dog friendly rooms are clean and open - and very good. There are several areas where the dog can walk and there are pick-up bags ready for use on the east side of hotel. The best part is access to a large, grassy park, with a locomotive and play ground caddy-corner from the hotel. No fenced in dog-run, but plenty of places to walk behind the hotel - though most hotel patrons only walked very close to the hotel, not in the park.
Clean and very nice room and bed ... Super nice and efficient front desk. Lobby area is very up scale. I stay in and love BW hotels and this is a top of the line one for this chain. This is a great hotel and I highly recommend it.
I was driving from Denver to Boise and decided to stop to leave an afternoon early and spend a night in Wyoming to avoid driving through the remoteness in the dark. Anyone who has driven across Wyoming knows that there are not many options. This hotel came up as the only 3 star ranking in my corporate travel app in a sea of 1 and 2 star hotels. I did not have high expectations for a hotel right off the interstate in Rawlins, WY. Immediately upon walking into the hotel I knew I chose right. Remodeled and clean was the first impression. Check in was friendly and efficient. Sensing my combination of fatigue and hunger a menu for the lounge was provided - I was pleasantly surprised that I wouldn't have to leave the hotel that evening. Service at the bar was fantastic and the food/prices were great. Breakfast in the morning was staffed by Dan who was engaging and humorous. He was great at "upselling" free items - I ate more than I wanted to but loved it. I've been to hotels of all kinds all across the world and was surprised to find one of my favorites in Rawlins, WY.
We stayed in a bunch of Best Westerns on our trip, this was the best by far. Pool open 24 hrs, awesome food and drinks, cool interior. Just awesome! Only bad thing was hotel is massive and super long walk to pool. Haha!
This is an older Best Western that the town has moved away from. It is a great building but older. Restaurants have moved away. Nice lounge that serves salads, sandwiches and deserts. Staff was very nice and helpful. Older section has outside doors that don't fit at the bottom. Critters can come visitin.
I have stayed at this property three to four times a year since the renovation I have not had a bad room. Every stay I was greeted a friendly staff and enjoyed a nice clean room I would stay here anytime I come through Rawlins Wyoming.
Exceptionally friendly staff, both at front desk and in the breakfast room! Considerate management to provide cookies and drinks upon checkin and a grab bag with snacks upon checkout! Wonderful cook, very clean and comfortable rooms. Would highly recommend to any travelor!
The room was clean, well organized, very spacious and carpet not worn or soiled. Bed and bedding was very good. The Hotel amenities outside the room were all very good. The price was very fair for this time of year (spring) for how nice the room was.
Super clean. Nicely decorated. Amazing breakfast; clean room and great quality of food. Loved the bed and bedding. Nice toiletries. Excellent value for the room with two dogs included. Staff members very friendly and helpful.
The hotel doesn't look like much on the outside but it has been completely remodeled on the jnside. The pool and hot tub and fitness center are open 24 hours. Rooms are large, well appointed. The beds were the same as the best hotels I've stayed at. The food at the restaurant was better than I expected for ordering close to the closing time. My son had fettuccini Alfredo.... it was deliciously cheesy. My burger was perfectly cooked. Breakfast was extensive. The coffee was hot and delicious. All in all a great experience for 99$.
The hotel was very pretty and clean, as was the room. Pleasant staff. Especially liked having a restaurant/bar on site. Great food. Would stay here again, and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very affordable too.
Great hotel. We will be staying again!! Front desk staff was very nice, check in was a breeze. The host at breakfast was so nice & very efficient. Visited with everyone and told some great jokes. Overall was a very nice stay in windy Rawlins, WY.
We loved our stay at the Best Western CottonTree Inn. Our room was clean, modern, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable! We ordered take-out dinner from the Turnbuckle and it was delicious! I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will stay here again on our next trip through.
Our overall experience was great! Friendly staff, clean rooms and easy to find. The employee that checked us in switched our room without us having to ask, knowing we had a little one with us and it would be more convenient for a first floor room. The breakfast attendant was super friendly and helpful and the food was great!
Front desk staff seemed uninvolved in any task, check- in, during the night, they were in the office a lot of the time or walking around. Breakfast was great and gentleman who prepares is delightful. checkout was fast and efficient.
Stayed in a room that was in the interior corridor. very quiet the only issue was with the curtain as it did not go all the way to the door and allowed light into the room. I had to tug the curtain over and use the door handle to block out most of the light. Pool and hot tub was decent. Breakfast was decent as well. WiFi was a bit on the slow side. The only down side was there was not many dinning option on the West end of town where the BW is located.
We stayed at this hotel overnight while passing through town. Everyone from the hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast had much variety and coffee was good too! ????
In a day that hotel lounges are becoming extinct and if they are around are stiff and cold, the lounge at the Rawlins BW Cottontree in is warm, welcoming and most importantly comfortable. It's not the stiff backed, hard seated wooden chairs where you feel like you might get a drink and just take it back to your room, but says, "sit down, relax, you've had a long day - let the stress go away". The breakfast is also very nice with many choices and an actual person on hand to make sure everything is fresh and full and to cater to your needs if you need something special.
Everything was great here I will be back clean 24 hour pool lounge staff were the best. I can't wait to come back and bring my family to spend the weekend. So we can take in rawlins entertainment and sites
Very comfortable, large room. Staff very accommodating and friendly. When traveling with a pet it is often difficult to find a nice room that is pet friendly, often you are banished to the worst rooms, paying a pet fee on top of the regular rate. Our pet friendly room was immaculate and of the same quality as a non pet friendly room.
My husband and I recently stayed one night while we were passing through. The rate was very competitive and the property is updated, clean and very comfortable. Our king-sized bed room was very large, furnishings were modern, bed and linens were of good quality. Nice toiletries as well, which is more than I can say for a competitor who has been skimping on their toiletries and raising their rates. Best Western appears to be re-branding their properties and have added included hot breakfast - top on our wish list. Breakfast, by the way, was amazing! The best we have seen in a while. They had everything - scrambled eggs and egg omlets, sausage, "home fry" potatoes, fresh cut fruit of different types, yogurt, cooked oatmeal and toppings of nuts and raisins, etc., hard boiled eggs, some sweet breads - large muffins and something else I can't remember. Coffee, juice, water, flavored creamers. The attendant at breakfast was very helpful and friendly. Front desk was professional and friendly. An all around stellar experience. We will be looking for BW properties like this in our future travels. Their competitor is loosing our business.
This place surprised us in a couple of ways. First it was another hotel that they renovated into a Best Western. They built around the old hotel and made the hotel look new and much bigger. In a lot of cases that would be a negative, but in this case it worked just fine and is now a beautiful hotel. Second, after a long days drive, we sure like to stay at hotel with restaurant inside, because the last thing we want to do is now look for a restaurant to eat. Well this place has a lounge in it that not only serves food too but it serves food that tastes fabulous and is not that expensive. And we were not the only couple that thought that as the couple in the next booth thought that too. The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. the internet was good. Whenever we travel through Rawlins we will most certainly stay here again.
We use BW a good bit when traveling requiring breakfast, internet and pet friendly on the road. We re-routed to Rawlins on the way to Cody for pet! Tired when we arrived from NM, we didn't want to go out. Found a great full service lounge in house, good menu and bar. It was pretty well populated, too. Service was great in lobby and lounge. Room was very good and a different BW than the usual was interesting. We'll probably route thru Rawlins more frequently, now.
Staff at check in did not know how to pay for the room using points, internet was not working and desk staff did not know how to reset/reboot it, 3 of 3 washing machines were out of service, 1 dryer was out of service.
This was our last night and it was the best of Best Western's and other name brand hotels we stayed at -awesome decor, service, best breakfast ever -more selection than normal, good temp of heated pool and hot tub. Normal cost was a little higher but worth it, but we got a senior discount so it was average of what we were paying at other hotels. Only draw back was no elevator but they only have 2 floors. Lots of rooms
Rawlins is a small town where you don't expect anything extraodinary. Best Western Cotton Tree is a great find in this small town. It is a large property- some rooms open to the outside and others to an interior hallway. We entered our room from the hallway. We found the rooms to be spacious and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate with a variety of hot and cold choices. This is a good place to spend the night. Check out the Thai restaurant down town.
Lovely, large hotel with an interesting motif. Our room was off a corridor which faced the outside with a wall of draped windows Unusual, but cool. The restaurant was quite good, but definitely a bar atmosphere. Again, kind of funky. The included Breakfast was extremely good and the attendant great. You wanted for nothing. The rooms were attractive and well-maintained. I would have definitely given this Inn 5 stars, except I was never able to access wifi from our room.
This is the town where I learned that pet friendly does NOT mean they accept cats. I had reservations at another property, it was late, I was tired, and this property welcomed me with arms open. Spacious room, was able to park right in front of the door, good location, onsite restaurant busy but good, Highly recommended, especially for solo travelers.
tastefully remodelled--great value, friendly staff. Just watch out for the low-to-the-ground toilets on the first floor back wall facing. Took some time to find it in the dark, but would've helped if we'd gotten off on the second exit, not the first (heading west on I-80). Extreme wind, but building is solid, not drafty. The breakfast is a cut above other Best Westerns we've been to this year. The attendant even fulfilled a special breakfast request. Never had that happen before.
This hotel was very nice, clean and up to date. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant had great food (excellent chocolate bundt cake) and the breakfast was really good. The Monday morning breakfast offered a little more than the weekend one. Overall, a pleasant stay and will stay here again when I'm in Rawlins.
Booked for a one night stopover and we were pleasantly surprised. The property was constructed many decades ago, but the seemingly recent renovation is impressive. The renovation is a few years old, but the rooms are very nicely appointed, fresh and comfortable. The most impressive thing is the pride that the staff has in their property. The (evening) front desk was very friendly and engaging. She was very proud to describe the property history when I remarked on the impressive lobby. She was also informed on the Best Western renewal and spoke highly of the brand renewal. That same pride was found in the gentleman tending the impressive free breakfast. He was very attentive, engaging and kept the buffet clean and stocked. The dining room was clean. It is very difficult to find good help, but also to keep them engaged. Sure the other hotels we have stayed at in Rawlins have been newer, but for price, staff, breakfast and overall experience, this is my favborite.
This property is worth the stop if you're looking for a clean (albeit small) room and don't want to drive for a great breakfast or dinner. The a/c in our room was a problem which is the only reason I didn't give it a 10+. The complimentary breakfast is above average in variety and quality and their lounge serves great dinners for a fair price from a wide selection.
We stayed at 2 other hotels during our trip. Including the Best Western all were within $5 including taxes. The Best Western was leaps and bounds above the rest! The staff was great, the beds nice and comfy, the room was white glove clean, and the breakfast was above and beyond great. I was very impressed.
We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We requested a King room and the layout was great. The room, halls and check in were very clean. The employees we met were very cordial and helpful. There were a verity of hot and cold breakfast items. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
We were just on our way to Grand Junction Colorado to visit our daughter and had a long day of driving , we were fortunate to find this place to spend the nite, the room was exceptionally clean, the beds felt great, parking was easy, the AM breakfast was excellent . The staff was very helpful and friendly, we enjoyed the stay and we would recommend this hotel to everyone. We will be definitely staying here on the next visit out this way! Thanks! Scott & Beth Jagodzinski
We stayed here on the way to view the Aspen trees in southern Wyoming and Colorado. This is a very nice Best Western at an extremely reasonable price. The quality of the room, facilities, staff and breakfast was excellent! We would definitely stay here again.
Rooms appear to be updated except for tub & showerhead. There was also a musty smell to the room which was pretty unpleasant. Everything else was nice! Front desk staff very friendly & helpful. The shining star was breakfast. The gentleman/cook was very attentive & the food was very good with a huge variety. We will definitely stop again if in area!
This is the first time we have stayed at this facility and we were very pleased. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The room was very well arranged and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast items were many and the ones we had were very good. We will be staying in this facility on our return trip and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
This is big place! We spend one night and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is well renovated and has everything you need. The rooms are quiet and spacious. Not a finger to put on the cleaning either. Breakfast was what to expect for this price range. They have a guy running around asking how everything is 10 times during your meal. Fun but a little annoying too. Easy parking and necessities nearby. There is a Walmart at the other end of town.
What an attractive facility. Great room, good price, full service.....one of the best of the Best Westerns. The use of native stone in the hotel areas was amazing. Clean, modern room, not lacking in anything. Great value. The waitress/bar tender was a hoot. Made the stay even better. Super accommodating.
We reserved a King room. It was clean, large, and mostly updated. Comfortable bed. Two sinks. Good hot water and pressure. Good towels. Quiet in room 142. Two entrances to room. Very good wifi. There is a free hot breakfast. Good variety and fresh. The attendant, (I think his name was Dan) was super friendly, and helpful. Desk staff also very friendly.
Great stay in Rawlings. Room was configured so guests could park close and in front of their room, with entry into a hallway with outer glass wall. Room was large and comfortable; great towels and good bed linens. There was an onsite bar/lounge that we did not use. Breakfast was great, with large selection of both hot and cold items. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
This is one of the nicest Best Westerns that I have stayed at. The room was very large and was like a luxury room at a budget price. It was easy to find but there wasn't much of a selection for restaurants in this small town.
We had been traveling in the west to visit friends and do some bucket list stops. On our way home we stopped at Rawlins wy. Tired from traveling we wanted a good nights sleep and a little break from the road. We found both of those here. Great bed, clean and well decorated hotel, good food and drinks. The bartender was very friendly and helpful!
Best Western hit it out of the park aesthetically on this renovation! Nice western style with substantial wood and ambiance lighting. There is even art hanging by the pool. Bed was super comfortable. Nice breakfast with extremely attentive attendant. Would stay again.
Large remodeled hotel, very convenient to Highway 80. We could park right in front of our room so it was easy to unload the car. Our room was large and clean and very quiet. The breakfast was really good - first time were greeted warmly to the breakfast room! There were restaurants within walking distance - which we appreciated.
The room was amazing the bed was very comfortable and plenty of pillows...I love that.....and the bathroom area was very spacious...the breakfast was absolutely fabulous and the attend was amazing, very funny....he deserves a raise....I recommend this place to everybody
A large hotel and older. The room was not large but for me it was fine as I was solo. The room I was in was a ways from the office and lounge where breakfast was but a good walk in the morning. The breakfast was great and there was a lot of food. Only one restaurant within walking distance and the food was so/so.
I was on a 1 month road trip and stop when I got tired, this hotel was by far 1 of the best hotels I stop at. Front desk clerk was AWESOME as was all the other staff. The room was clean and most important quiet!
Worst BW I have ever stayed at. Bathroom was the size of a small closet. Ants were on the floors. No sound isolation between rooms. Only 2 of 5 lights over the bathroom sink worked. This was a 1960's motel that BW remodeled by putting up a false front to make it look more modern. Do not stay here!!!!!
Good, clean hotel, appealing decor of lobby and rooms, good breakfast, attendant right on top of things and checking on people to see if they were satisfied with the food and could he be of assistance.
The hotel part was wonderful. Our pet accommodating room was very clean and had no odors which you can't say about some pet friendly hotels. Great lobby, room and breakfast, Lounge/bar huge disappointment. Service was almost nil to none. The lounge was nice area to be if you could get waited on. Could probably double the revenue there if service improved. Overall, would stay again just for the room.
A good place for the price. Great breakfast and lobby area. Rooms could be updated. We were on our way to Yellowstone so this was handy. We had to switch rooms because another person also had our room number.
Everything was very nice. My kids loved the pool and the Hot tub. The breakfast was awesome and the breakfast host was very friendly and helpful. The room was large, quite and very well kept. The beds were also very comfortable.
7 days as advertised ... The bar/restaurant was closed the night we stayed .. Holiday .. Room was and smelled clean and spacious .. At the front desk was Joe .. He was helpful and quick .. Gave us tips on local food and drinks which was about 1/2 a mile walk ... Odd hallway setup in the front of the rooms ... Not sure if it was added after or purposely built .. Breakfast was hot, plentiful and free ... ALL staff I came in contact with was polite, courteous and smiling .. Bed was comfy, pillows fluffy, towels plentiful and scratchy .. Will stop in on the next time thru .. Hopefully it's not a holiday ..
This was a really nice place. It looks like it has been renovated recently. The room was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast had a lot of options. I liked that the pool was open 24 hours but we didn't have time to use it. It looked really nice. Great stay!
Attractive room and bathroom, very clean and updated. Comfortable bed. Hot breakfast very good. The hotel is very attractive, staff pleasant and efficient. Was surprised that there is a lounge with full bar and restaurant. The food was very good. Very nice pool, unfortunately forgot to bring a bathing suit. Conveniently located right off of I-80.
We stayed one night in this hotel on our way to Denver. After driving all day, we were tired and wanted something clean and comfortable to stay. We were surprised by very friendly staff at the reception. The room was on the second floor and the lady apologized that they don't have an elevator. The room was very clean with two queen beds. The breakfast was very nice. And there one man who works there and he was so helpful. Many thanks to him. We would definitely stay there again.
We were passing thru WY, had to stop for a night. Staff was very friendly, rooms very cleans and comfortable. Many rooms have door to the outside as well as inside which made it very easy as we were traveling with the pets. Cost is on pricy side keeping in mind that we were in the middle of nowhere.
Typical Best Western, comfortable and generally quiet. Strange hallways that looked to previously be outside entryways that were encased in glass to make them interior walkways. Made it hard getting in and out of the narrow hallway with luggage. Otherwise, not remarkable positively or negatively.
We stayed at 3 different Best Westerns during our vacation and this location took the cake! Clean, beautifully decorated, comfy beds, and wonderful staff. The gentleman attending to the breakfast buffet was very attentive and a great, friendly start to the morning!
We totally enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast, that was served at no additional cost, was exceptional. The omelettes were delicious! All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I come through Rawlins'
The Cotton Tree Inn in Rawlins is one of the best choices in town, the staff is friendly and attentive. The hotel is clean and it's located close to the Interstate. It's also close to the hospital, in the event services are needed.
This hotel is spread out a country mile. Was one heck of a long walk back to the lobby. The lobby was decorated beautifully and the staff behind the desk was very helpful. We had cold packs for insulin we needed to keep frozen and since the in-room refrigerator didn't have a freezer, they took them to the restaurant's kitchen freezer for us. A frig with a freezer in the room would have been nice for a three star hotel. Also the TV reception was horrible. The AAA book's description didn't say it had a restaurant/bar within the facility. This was a nice surprise. Food and service were very good. However, the frosting on the cake was the breakfast attendant the next morning. He was the friendliest fello, greeting everyone individually as they entered the breakfast area. We observed him helping people with the waffle making procedure, maintaining the cleanliness of the area by bussing and wiping down tables, and circulating among the patrons making small talk. He was fantastic.
Nice clean hotel with a restaurant breakfast for guests. Stayed here with my wife and 3 kids, and they were able to accomodate our need for a baby bed. Impressed with this hotel, and we went Best Western the rest of the way throughout our trip.
The facilities are immaculate and we loved the layout of the hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating, our room was clean & spacious, and the 24-hour amenities (pool, fitness center, etc.) was a nice touch. We'd definitely stay here if we're back in the area again.
While on a long trip, this was a welcome relief, as we got off the freeway, located the hotel and found that they had an adjoining restaurant. Super. The bar/restaurant was full when we came down to eat. In a small town, that means the food is good, boy, were we right. The dinner and following morning breakfast were tops. The service was great and accompanied with a smile.
I stopped for the night when I was just too tired to drive anymore. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Only comment would be that the shower is dark with just the one light fixture over the sink. There are rooms with outside doors (motel-style) but they also have rooms with inside doors only. For some reason, I feel safer in those rooms. Lol.
We stayed here twice, on our way to Jackson WY and on our way home. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Lots of pillows and towels. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The breakfast was delicious as well as the food at the on-site restaurant. My son had left something in the room on our way through and the staff kept it for him until we passed through again. Will definitely staff again if ever in area again.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and accommodating for any and all needs. Breakfast is filling with a full array of food to choose from. Outside service door to room is a welcome addition for a motorcyclist.
This is a large property. Breakfast is above average. The service in the breakfast area is very good. There is a lounge. A restaurant is very close. Pool is 24 hours. Rooms clean and comfy. Parking is pretty good.
This motel is an older facility but is beautifully maintained. We found no deficiencies of any kind. The breakfast was outstanding. The food items were logically arranged, in good supply, and fresh. Dan, the breakfast area supervisor was extremely helpful and accommodating with everyone who entered the breakfast area. This was especially nice since every property has a different idea of food placement and so forth. The motel has a good deal of vehicle parking space which was a nice feature. The rooms were very quiet though we did request a room with no adjoining door. There were no negatives.
The hotel was immaculate. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The staff at breakfast was unconcerned -- they held open the trash bins but did not replenish the food. The wifi was almost impossible to use -- if I got a signal, I would usually get bumped off 5-15 minutes later.
Stopped in late last night after a long day on the road. Very clean and new. Friendly staff, especially the gentleman helping with breakfast. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great breakfast. Excellent breakfast, many choices. Will definitely stay here again if we are passing through.
Perfectly adequate motel, with a few oddities such as telephone red light flashed continually for no reason. Clean. The breakfast bar fellow is outstanding! Front desk staff was courteous and helpful as well. Motel is nice and close to Cappy's restaurant.
Hotel was nice but the cards to open your hotel room wouldn't work. I had to ask the front desk person to open the fitness center for me and then the pool another time. If my wife and I went out to eat they had to come up and again open the door for us and others. After a while we didn't leave the room because we felt bad asking the front desk person to keep coming up and opening our door.
Nice clean place to stay. It isn't close to the other motels but it is worth finding. Pool was clean and there was a nice lounge on the property! Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly! I will stay there again!
My wife went on expedia or orbitz and we almost didn't stay in this fine motel because of a 2.5 review. Crazy as the place is easily a 3.5 out of four. Two lav areas, hall and outside door, clean, roomy, good breakfast included. I don't know what those other reviewers were smokin' but they better upgrade their ganja (I don't smoke the crap or I'd recommend). Join me ljmartin dot com author of bestselling mysteries, westerns and thrillers. This is a VERY GOOD motel.
We only stayed for one night, the place looks new and clean. Would stay again. Breakfast included was good, special thanks to the gentleman working there for being very helpful and nice! There is a possibility to dine in the hotel too so no need to hit the road again, the food was ok enough. Kids went to the pool, but it was really cold so that was a minus. Room are as expected, AC very noisy.
The best western cotton tree inn is where I stay overtime I go to Rawlins... The rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly,,, especially Dan at breakfast,, very helpful,, attentive, and friendly. I enjoy staying here. Its always clean and inviting..
The hotel was one of the only ones available with a room on the night we went through Rawlins. The Pros: The room was comfortable, decorated nicely and had a comfortable bed, large TV and a couch with coffee table. The breakfast was great and it was hot. The staff is extremely curteous and helpful. The Cons: The shower pressure was not up to par--very weak and not hot, but we were so tired, we just endured the shower instead of making a fuss out of it. The housekeeping staff knocked loudly on the door at 8:15 in the am to clean the room. Our fault because we didn't have the do not disturb sign on the door, but dang...8:15? Best Westerns are usually priced above the other hotels in the area and this hotel fell into this category. While everything except the shower was great, it did seem to be overpriced a bit.
We rolled into this place about 11pm after 15 hours on the road. The desk staff could tell we were extremely tired and got us processed ASAP. While at the desk we listed to the next couple over talking about the pets policy and why no farm animals are allowed. The staff person said the last goat they had as a desk was pretty messy. She emphasized messy with some up and down eyebrow movement. The room was amazing. Totally unexpected for middle of Wyoming (not that there is anything wrong with the middle of Wyoming). It was large, great amenities. and there was a large floor to ceiling window next to the door that made the room look like a typical higher rated hotel. It might have been the 15 hours on the road but of the 5 nights were traveled this was the most comfortable mattress and pillows of the lot. I totally recommend this place.
This is a nice hotel. It was a little pricier than other Best Westerns we have stayed with. The pool and whirlpool being available 24 hrs was a nice feature. They claimed to have a limited selection of food from 5-9, but we all felt it was a decent variety and very good. The staff took good care of our eating needs and the breakfast assortment was amazing..The frittata in the morning was great and the gentleman taking care of the food was right on top of making sure we didn't run our.
I have stayed at other hotels in Rawlins, in the past. I had customer service issues with all of them. The Cotton Tree Inn is great. The service is exemplary, the rooms are comfortable, and the price is reasonable. We've stayed there twice in the past two years and have not had a complaint about our stay. The towel request was responded with a generous stack, the pool was clean, as were the tables and chairs. The restaurant is comfortable and the free breakfast is ample and good. The beds are clean and comfortable too. Our room was clean and enjoyable. Our stay was great!
There is a floor to ceiling window by the rooms door. The curtain never could close far enough to hide the light from the hallway or from the morning sun. What a night. The tv was actually staticky. I haven't seen static on a tv since I was a kid. Lucky we were tired and decided to skip the Late Show. Breakfast was the best part of the stay. The host/cook took pride in his job. After paying $50 a night at the Luxor in Vegas the night before it seemed crazy to pay $125 here in nowheresville Wyoming. Oh well bed was soft at least.
We stayed in a King Suite, the room was nicely appointed, a fridge and microwave, large flat screen. A nice breakfast room with the usual fair. It was a quiet restful night with a good breakfast. Thanks!
We had a great dinner and the waitress was great too! The staff was really nice and professional. Answered questions and gave information. The room was ok, We had a few issues with our room, like space under the door to the outside, fan in bathroom didn't work and bath drain didn't drain well. Nothing drastic but we let them know.
I have stay at the Cottontree best western every time I go to Rawlins Wy. Great location, friendly/helpful staff. Clean comfortable. The value is good. the gentleman at breakfast was very friendly and attentive.
My mom and I recently stayed here on our moving back to AZ. The new upgrade to all NS and new decor is very attractive and modern. The beds are very comfortable and overall service has greatly improved from our stay 3 years ago. It has a swimming pool and hot tub which is great for families. The hot tub was closed for maintenance during our stay. The breakfast is exceptional. They had 3 types of eggs (scrambled, cheese omelet, and hardboiled plus all the other great items for a full breakfast and the server was great making you feel very much at home during breakfast. This is close to amenities for town just off the freeway and close to their Old Pen Museum and parks.
I'm super annoyed at the last few best western's we've stayed at. I always immediately unpack and arrange everything in the room. Thenn I attempt to log-in to the free WiFi.... Nothing but weak signals (when I'm lucky). Why is it so difficult to get online!? All BEST Westerns should be updated enough to provide better internet services. I could be working now but I'm stuck watching the 9 lame channels. All. Day. Long. Watching 2 dogs. Great
I dont plan trips well so when I get ready for a Motel it is usually last minute and Best Westerns are booked. This time I was Lucky enough to get this one in Rawlins, WY. Got to use my Reward points too so made it even nicer. Room was one of the Best I have stayed in. Clean, everything worked and the Quietest ever!! Got some much needed rest. The Free Breakfast the next morning was great too with a huge variety of good food. I Recommend this motel with a 10+++ Made it a great night seeings how the snowstorm had closed some roads.
We were traveling from the PNW to Colorado in March and had made a reservation at this property because of its location on our route. We had spent the final 90 minutes driving in sleet and by the time we reached the hotel it was getting dark and that sleet was turning to an accumulation of snow. We were delightfully surprised to find a lovely property awaiting us. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely appointed. The halls are wide and nicely lit; some run on the outer edge of the building and protected by floor to ceiling glass. The indoor pool/spa is a lovely, though the room itself was quite cool. It felt like we could have almost been outdoors. We had diner in the restaurant and were offered a nice selection. Dinner was not great but it was good and sure beat going somewhere else. We took our time in the morning to go down to breakfast and things were a bit slim by the time we got there. What was there was fine. This is a two story property with rooms on the ground and second floor. We never saw an elevator. Had we know this when we checked in, we would have asked for a ground floor room. If you have difficulty managing stairs ask for a ground floor room. We would stay here again, no problem.
We were just passing through and found this diamond in the rough. All things concidered, really nice staff, clean comfortable rooms, pool, breakfast and just overall, not what I expected in Rawlings, WY! If ever on a road trip through this area again, I will gladly book a room!
The staff at the Cotton Tree Inn were courteous and helpful. Many went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean, well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The building itself has been kept up and was spotless.
Stayed at the Best Western in march. Pet rooms are at the opposite side of check in. Rooms have been remodeled, but we're not as large as other BT hotels. Would stay at again if in Rawlins. Breakfast was generic, with a decent selection. Located at the west end of town. Easy on and off freeway.
Traveling back from Vegs and deciced to stay in Rawlings. Found this hotel after we went by another hotel in town which didnt even have the snow removed from the entrance. Very reasonably priced which was a plus. Rooms were great and had a very comfortable bed. The hotel even had a place to eat and get a drink
I was stuck staying here due to a snowstorm, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent room that was larger than average. I always appreciate the flat tv remotes that are cleaned with the room. The bed was very comfy. I ordered food from the bar at the hotel and it was good. Internet worked great which was important since I had to keep an eye on the weather and road conditions.
This was an unplanned stay prompted by closure of I-80 due to bad weather. The stay while we waited for the interstate to open turned out to be a quite pleasant experience due to the friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and good food.
We were traveling east on I-80 when they closed the freeway east of Rawlins. We quickly picked a hotel which turned out to be a dump. In the morning the freeway was still closed so we checked into the BW Cotton Tree Inn thinking we had to spend another day waiting it out. We explained to Chris at the front desk what was going on and he was very accommodating with our needs. As we were taking our luggage into the room, he advised us I-80 east bound had just opened. He kindly refunded our payment and offered to get us a reservation at another Best Western further east. We turned him down because we weren't sure how far we would get. We made it to Kearney and we are staying at the the Best Western Mid Nebraska Inn & Suites. It us a lovely, comfortable, spacious room and bathroom. You have a BW customer for life. Chris' manager is Mike Sanders. The room, although we did not stay there, was very spacious and the bathroom was nice too.
Dan the 'Breakfast' man makes an awesome breakfast delivered with personality and charm. Chris and the evening front desk lady was professional and easy to work with. An over all enjoyable stay! xoxoxoxoxo
This was a clean, newer Best Western with large rooms. Nice bathroom and sink area. Closet with a full length mirror. Barbara at the front desk was very fine to work with and friendly. The window next to the door let quite a bit of light into the room even with the blackout curtain. The hot water started to go away when taking a shower but that might have not been the norm.
The hotel had a nice/fun bar attached, with decent food. The workout center was also excellent. Room was also good sized. Only negative to bring up, there were clothes left in the dresser from a previous guest.
Very nice stay, and clean rooms. did not take advantage of the breakfast or any other of the amenities that they offered, but the front desk lady was very nice and helpful. The only complaint I had was that the room I had , had an outside entrance and an inside entrance, but unfortunately, I could not get the key to work on the outside door, so it was sort of a hassle to have to walk around to a door to go inside, when I parked my vehicle right outside the door to my room.
Minor adjustments fixed our reservation and a cold and wintry night thanks to the friendly front desk folks. Room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was the usual fare and that day included a breakfast burrito.
This hotel was really nice. It has a lounge and kitchen but no restaurant, so if your family wants to have dinner it has to be ordered to go to eat in your room or in the breakfast room, which was kind of an inconvienence
A very clean and comfortable stay! The beds, pillows and linens were cushy and much appreciated after traveling all day. The highlight was Dan who was in charge of breakfast. We headed to grab breakfast a little after the cutoff at 10:00 am hoping to at least get some coffee. Dan not only allowed us to choose what we wanted to eat, but went back to the kitchen and brought out items that he had just put away. Dan was extremely helpful and friendly. I was so grateful, as I had been up most of the night with a fussy baby. Customer service like what Dan did for us does not go unnoticed! Management is very lucky to have him!
An amazing hotel, an a bit more than we usually spend for accommodations, but we were stranded because the roads were closed so we spent 2 nights there. The first night we were in a large room with a very comfortable king bed and sofa. There was an outside entrance, and an inner entrance into the hallway so you could access the lobby area. The second night we were put in a smaller room, with only one entrance into the hallway. Both were very nice rooms and the only complaint was that their security lights outside and in the hallway were ridiculously bright. This may not bother some people. The breakfast was amazing with a lovely dining room and many more choices than the usual! They also have a lounge where you can order sandwiches and drinks after 4:00 P.M. They have an indoor pool and a fitness room. It was a very pleasant stay, in spite of the circumstances!
Snow started coming down just about the time I had decided to stop for the night. Easy access to the interstate, pet-friendly, nicely appointed. Didn't call ahead for reservations, so was very pleased they had available rooms.
The Best Western was a delight. Everything was especially new and clean. The decor was inviting. The amenities were surprising. I would happily recommend this location. You will enjoy your stay and feel rested when you depart.
Good rooms, good breakfast but be aware of the night shift girl HOLLY SHE IS RUED AND DOESN'T CARE. Have stay there sept, oct and nov 2015 and hope to still there next year if things are fixed. wish there could serve biscuits and gravy too
While stopping in Rawlins for lunch with my husband and mother, my mother experienced medical issues. She ended up in the hospital in Rawlins for two nights. The hotel was right across the street from the hospital, which made it a convenient as well as comfortable place to stay.
Friendly staff on reception and in bar area in a comfortable hotel. Great place for a pit stop en route from Boulder to Grand Teton area. Spacious, clean room with a comfortable bed. Greater selection of fruit would be nice.
Stayed at this hotel prior to renovations and renovations have made an extreme difference. Hotel lobby, rooms and breakfast areas are very nice. Highly recommend this hotel. It is pet friendly. The breakfast was very good, it offered a variety of food and the attendant had such a great attitude, he made breakfast very pleasant. He took so much pride in his work, it was nice to see. Recommend this hotel.
The staff at the CottonTree is exceptional and personable They demonstrate the ability to personalize the service to the individual being served. The sincerity seems genuine. They are professional and know how to create an inviting environment.
We were unable to continue our trip due to roads being closed due to high winds. It was a great find to have this nice a hotel in Rawlins . The staff were very helpful and friendly..but I am not happy w a $20. additional pet fee. Noone else makes that charge.
This hotel was great in almost all areas. The breakfast was average, but the staff was very friendly. The value for the area and town was great and location for what I needed was great. If there has to be a negative I would have to say the loudness of the exit doors closing and loudness of the toilets when flushed. This is my to go hotel when I come to Rawlins Wy.
We'll I read the reviews and thought we'll there were more good than bad. I should have listened to the bad. For the price of 136.00 it was definitely not worth it. The rooms are getting old and not as clean as I would have hoped for. The staff was nice breakfast was ok. Overall it is better than a motel 6. I would look else where.
We had traveled over 3000 miles on a trip through the Western US. The Best Western Cotton Tree near Rawlins, WY. was a most pleasant surprise. Classy remodeling, nice beds and linens, hot tub temp and size was perfect. Pool and spa open 24 hours. Unbreakable cups in bar to take wine to pool area. Designed so cars are parked a few feet from room door. Price extremely reasonable. Attention to detail. We loved this motel.
This hotel was amazing. Clean, large rooms. Nicely decorated. Felt just like home. Indoor pool, restaurant inside. So nice. Definitely will stay here again. Right off freeway, nice town. large dressing area closet microwave and refrigerator.
Everything was extremely good except (a) the Wi-Fi which in my room was slow and the signal was weak (1-2 bars) and (b) the TV was flat screen but the TV signal was standard definition, not HDTV. The room was spacious & clean; there were 2 sinks both with stone countertops. All in all one of the best experiences I've ever had at a motel. HIGHLY recommended.
This lodging was very nice and clean. We were very glad to have onsite lounge and dining for dinner. The free breakfast is always a plus. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again if in the South Wyoming area.
On a recent vacation with my wife, we stayed at five Best Western motels. Four were fantastic and the fifth wasn't too bad, only one employee made the welcome and experience negative. We arrived an hour prior to check-in, and he wouldn't check us in then on a pre-paid room that was ready. I will probably never stay there again only because of him. This guy needs some hospitality training asap.
We had a usual Best Western Motel style room - comfortable and well equipped. It is a big place so you might have to haul your cases a fair way down the corridors. We had a decent dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast was also good. It is a modern hotel and we would recommend for an overnight stop. Easy access to highway.
Booked 12 BWs on a vacation through the NW. This was the most expensive and I would expect some proportional increase in service, accommodations, etc. The best thing I can say is the the elderly lady working the breakfast room was really very helpful. Beyond that, this place sucked. As I said, it was the most expensive with the worst entertainment selection, fewest channel selections. Then the tub would not drain until I took the drain apart and removed a big wad of paper. Which raises the question - how the hell did they clean the tub or did they? Then add to that the trash that was in the drawers from previous occupants. But the final straw was when we tried to make a cup of coffee and found old coffee in the coffee maker that was there so long that mold was growing in it. Their "on site restaurant " was "a limited menu served in The Tavern" And for this we paid the highest price of all the places on our trip?
I really love old-style motels, with exterior doors. This is a newer place, and it has some interior doors, but a bunch of exterior ones, as well. Nothing like parking in front of your door. That's the whole beauty of a MOtor hoTEL. Anyway, it's clean, has great and friendly receptionists, and had a nice, big room. What more could you want?
The BW hotel room rate in Rawlins is twice what you will pay elsewhere due to the oil drilling activities in the area and the greed of the hotel administration. Bleed the public while can because oil drilling boom will soon go bust. The same Best Western room 100 miles down the road will cost you 50% less.
