Best Western Hotell Lerdalshoejden

The hotel is beautiful and on a beautiful setting. Many indoor and outdoor spaces with amazing views. But what really differentiates this hotel is the outstanding service from each and every staff member. They go above and beyond any staff I have ever encountered. The front desk people helped us as if they were our private concierge staff. The waitstaff and bartenders made us feel like friends not customers. Even the maids went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. A special shout out to Rasmas, Jakob and Alma who were each beyond exceptional and went to extraordinary lengths to smooth things out when our travel agency continually messed up. Your care and initiative made our trip so enjoyable. Thank you so very much.

The receptionis really made the experience of the visit in Rättvik and the Hotell a heartwealcoming one. Eventhough it is Summertime during our visit, we where kind of cold getting to the Hotell, that is why I would really like to know where to buy the blankets on top of the bed, they were so soft and warm. Last tip, would be a way to get downtown whitout walking up and down that hill.

We stayed here for one night because I wanted to see Lake Siljan. If you don't have a car, though, think twice about booking here because there is no taxi service in Rättvik and the hotel has no shuttle service. The restaurant was really good and the waiting staff was well trained. I was pleasantly surprised by our meal. Breakfast was very good as well. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and adequate.

A very nice hotel with clean rooms and very helpful and professional staff. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the food in the restaurant very nice - although it could have been a littel warmer when served. But we were over 300 people so could have been logistic problems getting the food out.

Location: the vies from the hotel are beautiful. It is a short drive to central Rättvik. There is free parking available at the hotel. We were there during peak tourist season and there was still plenty of parking available. Check in: friendly and as excepted. Room: the rooms are very dated. The hotel is the only slightly nicer hotel in Rättvik and can therefore charge outrageous prices for very dated rooms. Both the rooms and bathrooms would benefit from a makeover. The rooms had fans and that was welcome as they were very hot. My guess would be around 28C/80F. The rooms were clean and everything worked as expected. The windows open. Wifi: the complimentary wifi was good. Breakfast: the breakfast is served in the restaurant with breathtaking views of Lake Siljan. The breakfast buffet was very good (for Sweden). Overall: would we stay again? Probably not as paying close to $200 for a smaller dated room is not worth it despite the location.

Very good hotel with amazing views from room, dining room, and lounge area. Many outdoor seating areas. Clean basic room. excellent breakfast with many choices including gluten free. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and super friendly! The hotel is dated but everything was in very good shape, the bathroom has been remodeled. Large room, very comfortable bed. We had dinner in the restaurant and both meals were very good.

When we arrived our booking was missing. Attitude of personell was fantastic - the hotel is full but we will solve the problem - and they ndid . Hotel food is more than excellent. Clean wwell maintained and beutiful location

I got a nice room with a comfortable bed close to the reception. In the evening they served nice and well tasting food. I was disturbed by the music in the restaurant. The breakfast was varied and well tasting. Overall, I nice hotel in the wonderful small village Rättvik with a nice view over the lake Siljan.

A good hotel with business meeting facilities. Very good breakfast as well as other meals (lunches and dinners). Nice and helpful staff. Beautiful view over the Siljan lake. Available parking slots. Comfortable stay.

Stayed for the Vasaloppet weekend. Was great to have a supporting hotel. Bare bones wax room, but ski vice was provided. So great to have the option to ride the bus to the start right from this hotel. Accomodated skiers with early morning breakfast. Other than the race, had a pleasant time at the hotel. Staff was friendly and resturant was good!

We spent 3 nights in Rättvik and this hotel is very nice. Our room was comfortable and clean it had everything we needed. Breakfast had a great selection to choose from and dining room had some of the best food I have ever eaten, not to mention the view of the lake. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging a car rental for us and telling us what to see in the area, the Dala Horse Factory at Nusnäs should not be missed. Neither should the pastry shop in town. It is only a few minutes walk to the base of the ski hill and a short drive to the top of the hill for a spectacular view. If we are luck enough the make a return visit to Sweden from Canada, we will definitely come back here

We visited here as part of a short break away to Rättvik with the extended family. We found the hotel to be spacious, clean and comfortable with a great elevated position with views looking over Siljan. The breakfast buffet was fabulous and a great family venue.

This hotel is a perfect option if you are participating in one of the Vasaloppet races. For a small extra fee they pick up your bib and also offer a bus to the starting point and back to the hotel. The hotel itself is your average business accomodation but the views of Rattvik are super nice and you can enjoy them right from your breakfast table. During race week they also adjust meal times to race times which definitely makes life a lot easier. Helpful, ever smiling staff, this place is well recommended.

I spent a weekend here for a MTB bike race in the area. Staff was very friendly in general and helpful w.r.t. the event, e.g. arranging us to have the bikes in one of teh conference rooms and open the breakfast at 05:30 so that we could have breakfast before the early start of the long full-day race! A good night sleep also important and the rooms were very quite - well-insulated. Not refurbished but ok rooms. The outdoor terrace and bar was fab, especially since the weather was great and you could enjoy the terrace with its outdoor bar. Pricey beer and huge Gin selection. We did not have dinner here but breakfast twice. Great variety but some improvement areas here. Improvement areas: While breakfast was really good in general, two...three pieces needs improvement. Worst thing was the scrambled eggs. Well, eggs you could argue, it was most likely the processed powdered eggs used by some hotels. For me, not acceptable, kind of like orange juice from concentrate, yuk! (Luckily the orange juice here was decent!) Secondly, the bacon was not the best, but ok, reasonable. The third was that there was no porridge, not an issue for me but my company complained! As you might have guess by now, breakfast is key for me and I do not like when there is short-cuts on it for cost savings. And powdered egg products is barely eatable. Still, the breakfast had several other tops and service was perfect. So still can recommend the hotel and the breakfast, just avoid the scrambled...

We spent a night in the hotel and had a very good dinner and a nice breakfast here! The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed both meals outdoor in the fine hotel terrace with a nice view of Siljan. The room could have been a bit larger, but the beds were good, also the bath room and everything was clean and tidy. We attended a Dalhalla concert in the evening and the hotel was very suitable for this occasion, and also for biking along a part of the Siljan biking route the following day.

The hotell was alright and according to what we did expect to find in a chain hotell. Everything did function well. The room was nothing special but ok and the beds were comfortable. Nice to have two good chairs to sit in. The bathroom was also ok and clean. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The stab took care of filling up, when something was nearly gone empty. We did not have dinner at the hotell, because there was not much to choose between and the meals were rather expensive. It was not far to walk to the citycenter, but the roads were quit steep, which made it a bit heavy to go back.

Closest hotel to the ski slope, fantastic view down the Lake Siljan. Very clean, staffs are much service minded, that makes the guests special and personal compared to bigger hotels in bigger cities. Warmly recommendable.

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my family and the end of December (which is usually not the best season to travel to Rättvik). We stayed at this hotel because it was actually the only hotel of Rättvik and we weren't disappointed at all ! I have to admit the building isn't the prettiest but the inside is very nice. The big plus in this hotel is the space and the activities they propose. In fact they have a billard pool table, a gym and also a jacuzzi and a sauna in a secret little place. The rooms are okay but a little old and simple. But the beds are really nice, and you can enjoy a really nice view from both sides of the building. BUT, the bathroom are HORRIBLE ! The bathroom really is the worst, it looks like an hospital and isn't nice at all, you put water everywhere and there's no space to put your stuff. I was really disappointed. But the same thing happened in our Beat Western hotel in Stockholm so I guess bathrooms in Swedish hotels are just not the best. We also had dinner and breakfast at their restaurant and both were really nice. You enjoy your food with a nice view which is really pleasing. The food is mostly typical Swedish and very good. The woman working at the reception is very efficient and nice (sorry I don't remember her name) whereas the service at the restaurant was pretty bad. But in general this hotel was really nice for a 3 stars hotel. I would give it a 8/10.

The hotel is good but a few things could be improved. There is no room service, no lunch available in the summer and dinner starts at 6pm. It's a 20 minute walk down a mountain town and I couldn't find a taxi to get back up. No Uber available in this area. I haven't had breakfast yet, so not sure about that. The rooms are spacious. Good shower. Soap/Shampoo provided. A kettle available and a couple of tea bags.

We slept here for 4 nights with our dog. The bed was god, nice food and breakfast. We walked at lot in the erea. Both in the nighbouhood and in the forest. It was nice. We also visited a consert at Dalhalla. And they had a bus from the hotel to the consert area.(175 Sv. kr. for a return ticket) The hotell also had a nice training room. The only thing i missed there was som towels.

Slept here for 3 nights. The staff is kind and friendly. The room was good, the shower a little outdated. The beds are good. The rooms aren't soundproof. I could hear and understand the people in the other rooms, and in the hallway while they're talking. Breakfast was good.

Stayed one night when visiting Dalhalla. Reception area bright and welcoming. Nice room overlooking Siljan. Clean and good size. Breakfast very good and rich. Very nice staff , positive and friendly. Somewhat expensive but you get what you pay for.

This hotel is one of few in Rattvik. It is up on the hill and has great views over the town and pier. The outdoor hotel restaurant / bar and lounges is great. Checkin was easy and free parking. We had lots of washing which they kindly did at a reasonable price. Only problem for me was the stuffy rooms and the parquet floors meant when the drunk cycling team went to bed at 1 am we got to hear all about it. Breakfast was good way to stay the day and included.

We stayed here for 5 nights in August. Our room overlooked Lake Siljan. An incredible view! It was cool at night and we were able to leave our windows open for the crisp night air. But as one reviewer noted, there were no screens in the windows. The staff were exceptional, especially Emma, who assisted on multiple dining arrangements as well as giving us general information on sights and places of interest. The dining room staff was also exceptional and the dinners of first quality. The breakfast buffet was adequate. The rooms are standard but comfortable and we certainly lacked nothing. Sitting outside (blankets provided) to watch the sunset over the lake with a nice glass of wine in hand was spectacular! In short, a wonderful place to stay!

We stayed overnight at Lerdalshöjden as we visted the nearby opera venue Dalhalla. We had messed up our reservation, but the very helpfull staff (lead by capable manager Emma) corrected that immediately for us. We had booked early, so we got rooms with the stunning view over lake Siljan. Buffet dinner outside and coming back from the opera, we had late supper - all very good for being buffet style food (something for everybody and only Swedish food specialites). Rooms are nice, but not extravagant. The staff is mostly Young, but very helpful and friendly.

I haven't stayed in a Best Western is a very long time and I had no idea what to expect while staying in one in Sweden. We were pleasantly surprised to find a hotel on the side of the hill overlooking Lake Siljan. We were greeted by Emma (who was by far one of the kindest front desk receptionists we've EVER had) who had all the right answers to all our questions as well as helpful information we didn't even know we needed. Rooms were nothing spectacular, but most definitely comfortable. The day after we arrived for our two-day stay it was rather hot (compared to the days before spent in Northern Sweden) and even though the hotel didn't have a/c, we were able to get a room fan. One large complaint that I have is that there are no screens on the windows and that was too bad since there was a nice breeze outside and would have enjoyed leaving the window open (despite the midnight sun at this time of year). Our room was NOT the best in the place - a view of the hillside and one of the wings of the hotel, but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.

I stayed for the Vasaloppet weekend in Lerdalshöjden. The hotel has stunning views over beautiful lake Siljan. Situated a long way uphill from Rättvik town, which may be problematic if you are not travelling by car. Rooms were of normal Nordic quality and services (including sauna) quite nice. The personnel were really nice and helpful. For Vasaloppet skiers they arrange a bus trip straight from the hotel to Sälen and back from Mora. Breakfast was decent but could have been of more variety. Still, the restaurant services were also good.
