Everything was clean and nice no complaints will stay again, and I've stayed at hotels that were much more expensive that weren't as nice of a stay. Definitely will book them again when needed! Maybe even just to use the pool since it was so clean.
Excellent stay .very friendly staff the gentleman at the front desk was so nice and extremely friendly . Made our stay great! Will definitely be back again soon ! Breakfast was very good as well . Kids enjoyed swimming
The beds and bathroom were very clean and the room was spacious enough for my family. What made this place special was the friendly and caring staff. We misunderstood what time the breakfast ended, so we came down just as it was being cleaned up by a woman named Chris. She was so wonderful and made sure that my family had access to all of the food, including enough waffles for each of us, eggs, fruit, muffins, etc. She could have easily told us that we were too late, but she was so kind and took care of us. She is an asset to the hotel and it's that kind of service that will make us return AND recommend the hotel to others.
We stayed here because it was pet friendly. Our room was the worst we have ever stayed in. Dust, mold etc. Sorry but we will not stay there again. Walls are thin, towels are small. They charge extra for pets up to 30# but we saw very dogs staying there also.
I sent my husband to stay at this hotel to take care of his ailing father. When his father checked in, he was very sick.... Kevin, the front desk clerk, got him a wheelchair and pushed him to the room. He helped him in, pulled down the bed, and helped him into it. When my husband arrived from Michigan, Kevin was there to help him with EVERYTHING. Our father was in such despair and sick, the hotel staff even got a shower chair and helped my husband get him into the shower. The staff at this hotel is the best I have ever dealt with and I am physically in Michigan... I can't begin to tell ALL of the things that they did, especially Kevin, because it is too overwhelming. They are taking good care of my 2 men, who mean the world to me. I don't have to worry about anything because they are THAT GOOD!!!!
I only rated the value average because we were there for a Saturday night and it was $300 :( compared to the $150 typically. The stay itself was WAY better than I expected. Front desk was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean. However, I had the pet-friendly room so there was an odor from the carpet. I REALLY recommend they put pet-friendly flooring in the pet-friendly rooms. The hotel is close to a Walmart, Wendy's, several gas stations. The breakfast was decent with some hot options along with the usual waffle maker, cereal, and yogurt. I recommend taking a quick drive down Hawk's Nest nearby, really beautiful especially in fall and winter. Thank you again for giving people the option to travel with their furry family!
Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had never been to this area and needed some tips on local directions. The staff was more than happy to assist with maps and suggestions. They even suggested local points of interest that we had not planned on visiting, which was helpful.
Need a stop for my round trip long-drive traveling. For coincidence I booked this hotel for both to and from trips. The first stay we got an okay room. The AC smells. We turned it off and we are lucky weather was not hot in September. The second stay was good. Got a room cleaner and quieter. Overall I think this hotel worths the price.
excellent. highly highly recommend to spend leisure time at this property. could not ask more than what you get there. very very friendly, cooperative, helpful, ever smiling staff. very beautiful nature around property.
This facility has seen better days and it's all normal maintenance! Every door has peeling paint EVERY ONE! Non smoking hotel that reeks of smoke. Mold in bathroom the shower Faucet fell apart and the crud would make you vomit. The desk chair was broken. And the Check in man was definitely not happy with his job. MAINTENANCE ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT!
Service was great, people seemed nice. But you go into the room and it feels humid even with the AC on as if you can't get enough moisture out of the room. Mildew smell was significant! Restaurant was closed - wish I knew that before I got there! So the complimentary breakfast in the morning is...
On the road, return trip between Ohio and New Hampshire. Challenging weather, intense downpours occurred for measurable time over measurable miles during this return trip. I arrived at the PA, NY border much later than projected and I sure was glad to see the Best Western sign off the highway at the late hour, past 10:00PM.
I have stayed in this BW several times in past years, and have been happy. This time the place did not meet my expectations. 1) The room was freezing, the AC set at 61 deg. We actually had to turn the heat on for a long while to warm up. 2) The bathroom - toilet, sink & floor - were dirty with hairs and specks and soap scum. (And the hotel is supposedly "COVID Clean"??) 3) The DISH tv service wasn't working. 4) The breakfast tables were not clean. We picked the cleanest to sit at; I watched a man ask the attendant to clean a table for him (she was standing by idly chatting with other staff)....While the setting is lovely, with grounds abutting the Delaware river, and the location very convenient, I would hesitate before staying here again. *Breakfast buffet was quite good, and beds were comfortable, which is why I am raising the rating up to a 3. Management needs to wake up.
The property and scenery was beautiful. The staff were upbeat and polite. The rooms were clean and the ac was blasting. My 6 yr old and I swam in the pool a lot while we were there. The pool room was always clean and the pool was perfect temp. The breakfast was fresh and delicious with plenty of options. I definitely recommend this location.
Hotel was located not too far from my destination. Cori at the front desk was great. She was very friendly which made the stay even better. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the grounds were kept nicely
Nothing special but clean and welcoming. Rooms in the back face a pond with geese, a groundhog, a heron, and a rabbit. The door to 415 requires a forceful, quick, upward pull on the handle. Fix that.!
A/c barely worked. Damp MOLDY carpet. WiFi only works if your standing outside. Odor in room. Tiles falling off the wall in bathroom. Never had room cleaned, had to go to front desk for towels and shampoo. Etc. Etc. Etc.
The room was not clean, the bed was dirty and the complimentary shampoo bottle was 1/2 empty. The room had a cleaning solution smell. We had travelled for 5 days and this was the worse hotel that we stayed at on our trip. It appeared nice, but appearances are deceiving.
Was in town for a family member's funeral so my mood was not the best. However the staff was very good at making my stay more than enjoyable. Had my cat with me which brings stress but the staff made everything work out. Cannot thank them enough.
Needed hotel for nights stay during long road trip. This was the only place available. Expensive $225 for what it was. Smell of smoke at front entrance and first floor hallways. Front desk staff complaining about other guests during check-in. Room adequate but somewhat smelly (smoke?). Breakfast subpar. Left next morning as soon as possible
This was a last minute reservation and we were charged over $300 for the room. We thought this was outrageous considering we are now at a resort Best Western which only costs $100+. However, it was late and we needed to find a room. The room had not been cleaned and was quite dusty.
Been real to us when we meets there to party. Great big lot to park our bikes in. The buffets food is plenty. The wait staff don't mine you messing with dems. Is great for us oath types and al nannies plus occasional clan friendliest. Sure is convenient to da highway. Me likes much.
Checked into room, starting unpacking and realized there no remote. Got remote, tv didn't work. Moved again, got totally unpacked and ac wasn't working properly. Offered another rm but too tired to move again!
I stay at the Best Western at Hunt's Landing every chance I get. I plan my trips so that I stay at least one night there. It is the most restful stay of every trip. The staff is always responsive. The rooms are always immaculate. Beautiful setting.
If you live in the area you are not allowed to rent a room. I booked a room with my children 2 weekends ago to take them swimming. I went to book another room for my brother and the lady at the desk informed me that I can't because I live in the area meanwhile I had a room already with my kids. This past weekend I booked a room online and they took my money and AFTER that told me I cannot book a room. Its very annoying when people want to bring their kids swimming being it's cold out and can't because of where they live. I see a lot of locals stay there so I feel like it's a pick and choose basis. I do not recommend. Hampton will be a lot better choice when their pool opens.
The reception area is new, clean and bright but our pet friendly room was nasty! Odors, worn out furniture, intermittent scalding to freezing water. Domestic disputes in hallway causing dogs in other rooms around us to bark and howl all night.
We stayed two nights here while in town for a memorial. The hotel is older and the rooms are showing their age, but they are clean. The staff tries hard and goes above and beyond. However, we had to change rooms because there was so much smoke coming from other rooms on our floor that it was hard to sleep. We couldn't open the windows because there was no screen (4th floor) and I had two little kids with me. By the morning, it was cigarette smoke and weed. It was so thick that it was hard to breathe in the hall and we all smelled like it if we walked through the hall or took the elevator. We changed rooms (staff was great and helpful) and our second room also smelled strongly of smoke both in the room and out in the hall (this is a different floor AND the hotel is non-smoking!). I won't stay again--it wasn't a passing whiff of smoke. It was like staying in Vegas in the 80's. Our clothes, luggage and hair reeked. The hotel tries, but it can't overcome the guests.
As we travel back and forth from Maine to Florida this has, for numerous years been our first stop heading south, last stop going north. Reliable, clean, accepted pets. Unfortunately our stay last night has prompted us to find a new stop. The room was very “worn”, door knobs on bathroom door barely hanging on, hole in the wall from entry door smashing into it, “sketchy” group hanging outside for long periods of time (as well as during the night smoking on walkway outside bedroom), people fighting upstairs until 3:45 a.m. ( yes, I did call front desk), worn out carpeting, ceiling tiles which support bathroom fan about to drop, a very “tired” room for the price. Spoke with front desk in the morning ( who was pleasant), and mentioned that I was the person who complained during the night. “Oh, I'm sorry,” was the response. I guess I should have expressed my disappointment in our overall stay but I don't think she really cared. So, moving on to Milford, PA for our return trip back in May!
I travel to this area a lot because I am a truck driver. This is my favorite hotel because the staff are super friendly, the hotel is always clean, you have everything you would need there and the beds are comfortable enough.
I stayed at the Best Western at Hunt's Landing in Matamoras, PA. Overall my stay was excellent. The staff was great and extremely friendly and welcoming. We were checked in swiftly and were granted our late check out as requested. The room was clean, though there were some chips in the paint and some cracks around the molding. Overall I had an amazing time at the BW and would gladly stay there again!
I had an amazing experience with the best western. The staff are amazing they are very respectful, polite, helpful and very friendly. The rooms are very spacious, clean and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel is very clean and the staff all take precautionary measures to ensure they safety of the guest and definitely practice social distances and wear there masks
Every time we travel, we always stay here. Not only is it convenient and pet friendly. We are always comfortable. The only part was missing the tv remote. The woman who checked me in was friendly and helpful same with the women at check out who helped me get back into my room after I locked myself out.
An ongoing power outage made me not want to stay home overnight in a cold, dark house. I contacted the local Best Western and found out not only did they have power, but they had available rooms, a heated indoor pool and free breakfast. Our power returned just as we were heading out the door but we decided to go anyway. We had such a delightful evening, with the pool entirely to ourselves, that we will probably do this again, just for fun. Reasonably priced, so we didn't at all break the bank.
This facility was convenient to our needs as a home-base for a motorcycle adventure. It was convenient to food, gas, and central to the area we explored. I would recommend this Best Western as a great place to consider for your travel experience.
We stayed here two nights as our base to drive along the Delaware scenic bypass. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly and helped us with any request or issue. The rooms needed a bit of renovation, but I guess we were in the pet section.
Do not go to this Best Western. The housekeeping staff does not wear masks to clean the rooms. The front desk staff usually don't have masks on, until you walk up and then they only cover their mouths. The restaurant staff don't wear masks that are sufficient to keep you safe. I would never stay here again if provided a choice. And there is a Hampton inn right next door - so I guess I have a choice. This hotel was dirty and dingy to start, the staff only brings it further in the toilet.
Service was excellent. The main reason for my trip was a getaway with my granddaughter to be able to swim. We called ahead to make sure the pool was open and my only disappointment was that it was ice cold. We were unable to use the pool at all
Great outdoor ding and best location to highway and a good indoor pool. Friendly and helpful desk help. Breakfast was limited because of Covid but they get a pass for the bag breakfast. Pool and fitness center open.
i used my best western points thinking id get a great room as were gold memebers..well we got there we were on the bottom floor which i requested, the door to our room was discustingly dirty from kick marks, (looked like a patched hole) got into the room and ALL the fixtures were sideways! omg you didnt need a measuring tape to see how badly they were off it was weird..the toilet looked like it had a rubber mat between the tank an bowl toilet was dirty...resturant was good but way overpriced..the good thing was Bri the girl on the desk was quite nice...coffee was fee an to go for breakfast... i liked the yard as it overlooked a pond that was full of geese i would probley stay again if i was gaurenteed a clean regular room..i guess you get what you pay for...
Hotel was generally clean. My room had a musty/urine smell in the bathroom and housekeeping responded immediately to remedy the issue. Front desk staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. My dog and I enjoyed our stay after a long day of hiking and traveling.
The first impression was someone tailgating in the parking lot. After seeing the people inside, I am under the impression that people live there. The walls are thin. I could hear my neighbors TV at 1 am and could hear people walking around late at night and early morning. For it being 1/2 full, I do not expect to have an immediate neighbor in any direction. For the price you pay, I do not expect all this noise. The doors are clearly in need of paint. They have a mask policy, but no one follows it.
I would highly recommend stopping at this hotel if you are in the Matamoras, PA area. The lobby entrance is gorgeous and the staff very friendly and helpful! The bedroom was clean and comfortable which is always a bonus! The view out back features rolling hills, a barn building and a pond. The onsite restaurant was delicious even though this was during the pandemic re-opening and only take out was available.
Needed a dog friendly hotel on a budget and near Milford, PA. This place checked all the boxes. Great first floor room that was large, clean, and perfectly situated. Close to a variety of restaurants that were offering take-out service (definitely recommend Perkins for breakfast) and just off the highway to get out to hiking along the McDade trail and other sights nearby. The hotel even offers a fenced dog run on the property along with a beautiful back patio. The staff could not have been nicer and even offer dog treats.
While I've not stayed here directly, I had the pleasure today to speak with Erika, one of the managers, and had a special request. We are bringing in several of our special operations people from other parts of the country to support local critical infrastructure security and food supply chain safety. I had asked if there was a very special room rate for out team, and I didn't have to ask twice, and Erika did not have to run it by her manager for approval. This is what I call customer service at its very best--other hotels that we tried but were unwilling to be flexible, could learn from this. Thank you again Best Western Inn at Hunts Landing, and thank you Erika.
We stayed here for an overnight on our way to visit friends and family. We were lured by the advertised seafood buffet which we found out upon arrival has not existed for over 3 years! The friendliness of staff, big pool, gym and cleanliness of hotel quickly made up for our disappointment. Hotel rooms are spacious and clean. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Beds are comfy. The hotel has many cable channels however, we were unable to access the hockey games as MSG network is not available. Breakfast is included and there are so many options to chose from. There are numerous restaurants, stores and a movie theater a short walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This property isck through a well-maintained gem! The entire property is beautiful, and the amenities are amazing for the price you pay. We experienced an issue with check-in (not the hotel's fault), and both Erica and Eric took very good care of us. On top of that, they were both all-around amazingly friendly and made us feel completely welcome. The next morning we encountered Robert at check-out, and he also made us feel very welcome and valued as guests. Can't wait to stop again on our return trip!
We booked this hotel as it was pet friendly. From check in to morning breakfast the staff were friendly and helpful. Above and beyond. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is located on a large property so is a great spot to take a stroll. The on-site restaurant offers a wide selection of menu items. Our choices were good. Would definitely book again when in the area.
This property provides good value for the money. The property has very clean rooms, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The also provide an excellent breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here recently and the entire experience was very pleasant. From the friendly greeting from Robert, at the Front Desk, to the lovely room overlooking the pond and mountains to the very good meal served up by Taylor in Annie's Lounge. Our room was of good size, clean and very comfortable and the nice breakfast in the morning started our day on a very positive note. Best Western is well represented here. Bob & Martha
There seems to be a film on everything. The walls are scuffed and paint is chipping everywhere. The doors are hard to close leaving no choice but to make a loud slamming noise. The only thing that seems clean are the linens. Everything else, from toilet paper holders to counter tops, seems forgotten about.
great hotel right by the delaware river center. They have a great bar and food , a brand new heated pool and are a pet friendly hotel but the fee is a little steep- 30$ a night- Breakfast is very good, too, with a egg omlet station
Loud talking and drinking in lobby after Hours, I could not sleep, i was woken up at 1am could not get back to sleep, people in lobby were drinking in lobby and being very loud, I got dressed and checked out and went to my car, I drove 9 + hrs to come there for a 2 nite stay, first night was great, 2nd nite was bad
We arrived in Matamoras, PA, after hard hours of driving on snowy, icy roads. Very few restaurants were open due to the storm but the front desk at our hotel said they believed the restaurant at a neighboring hotel, Best Western, was still serving food. We tried to check the menu on line but couldn't find. We called the front desk at Best Western and spoke with Erica. When I inquired about the menu, she said she didn't think it was on line but she took a photo of it on her personal phone and texted it to me! My husband walked to the hotel, ordered and carried our dinner back to our room. The food was delicious but what blew us away was the outstanding customer service provided by Erica. Best Western is lucky to have her!
The Best Western was there for us when we were locked out of our inn that same evening. They were pleasant and helpful on the phone and at the check-in desk upon arrival. The room and location were good. Didn't stay for breakfast.
This is a resort hotel with a large sprawling layout. Breakfast (hot with tons of offerings) was in the conference center. Rooms were large and spacious. Comfortable beds, lots of pillows, quiet, welcoming staff.
this is a hotel i stay at few times every year for many years now, its better then ever now after recent renovations, staff is amazing particularly Taylor who works at the pub, she was kind and helpful guiding me thru the changes at the hotel and newly opened restaurant....she made my stay there much more relaxing and as always made me feel like part of the family up there....i highly recommend stopping at pub and seeing her if you are staying at hotel
The location of this hotel is great for our trip home and makes the last day easy. Further, its location means the hotel is quiet--no road noise and has a big field out back in which to walk our dog. There is a small pet park as well. Finally, the food in the attached restaurant is good and very convenient. It is nice not to have to order take out yet again on a trip.
We have stayed here several times and found the newly renovated hotel to be well appointed. The room had a nice desk and office chair for me to use my computer without piling several pillows on a low chair. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had an excellent night's sleep. Everything was clean and fresh and the breakfast area was complete and very clean.
This was a "fly by" visit. We had driven all day and were exhausted and were going to have a long driving day the next day. Ahead of time, we asked for a quiet room. We were located in the middle of the fourth floor at the back facing the pond, an excellent choice. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and welcoming. View out back was restful. We slept well and were refreshed to continue our journey.
Everything was amazing and clean. I gave four stars because the bar tender we had was unbelievably rude and actually mean to a large group of us and drinking while behind the bar. In the service field this is unacceptable and she made many of us few uncomfortable. Everything else was six stars! Very clean hotel and beautiful views!
No customer service. Poor quality hotel room. Very poor value. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. Problems with plumbing in the room, bad odor, linens needing replacement. We had to ask for someone to clean the room and were told they don't normally clean them every day. Never heard of that.
Loved my stay at the Best Western! It was clean, check-in and check-out was fast and easy. I was so impressed at the breakfast spread! Patricia and the other morning staff were so sweet and helpful! Thank you once again!
The hotel is nice even though it's aging can be seen in places. The bathroom was nicely remodeled and the HVAC was newer. The bed was comfy and the amenities were plenty. The room was very quiet even being close to the interstate. The onsite Bar & restaurant has great friendly service, good food and decent prices. It was nice not to have to get back in the car and drive elsewhere for dinner after a long day on the road. There is also complimentary breakfast. I would rate higher if the cost of the room was lower. I thought what we paid was a little high for a small town chain hotel along an interstate. That being said it was a nice experience and I was happy with our stay
The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff makes the place. From check in...to Annie's Pub...and checkout...very friendly and professional. Thank you for a great stay! Many things to do in the area.
Always stay at this Best Western when I come home to visit the graves of my parents and husband. Convenient location, friendly front desk personnel and staff. and breakfast is plentiful and no charge.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious and very nicely appointed. Clean and Comfy. Our Mountain View was very nice and we saw a lot of deer grazing in the field at dusk. Great Internet and Tasty Hot and Cold Breakfast. All employees are pleasant and the front desk clerk knew the area well and gave great directions to where we were visiting. I will stay here again.
Best hotel stay I've had honestly, and I've stayed at several 5 star hotels. Staff was very friendly, food was EXCELLENT! The pillows were surprisingly comfortable, I often travel with my own because hotel pillows suck, but not these. I will definitely stay here again if I travel out this way!
We booked a room at the Best Western Hunts Landing for a last minute scenic drive. Our very helpful reservation assistant informed us we had enough reward points to cover our stay. The hotel is situated in a very quiet secluded area located directly off the highways and so convenient to shops and restaurants. However, we loved the amenities offered at the hotel and did not want to leave. Our view from the rear patio was incredible and the food and fare at Annie's Lounge was extremely good. Best of all, was the warm welcome everywhere and acceptance of our Miniature Schnauzer. Special thanks to Danielle at the front desk for the hospitable welcome and Joe and June in Annie's lounge for making us all feel right at home.
My wife and I stayed here for one night to attend a local family event. I am not sure if we happened to pick a particularly busy weekend in the area, but the night came to nearly $200. I checked other properties in the area, they where about the same, so I guess they were getting market rate for the location/season. The person at the front desk was very personable. The room was clean, but a bit dated. Could have used a new coat of paint, especially the ceilings. Our room faced the highway which is visible from the room. Despite this, there was little to no noise from the highway. The bed was comfortable. It looked like they were in the process of updating the function room and restaurant. Parking was easy (despite the property hosting a gun show that weekend). Wifi was free and worked well. We had breakfast (included), it was adequate with choices of scrambled eggs, waffles, they also had someone cooking omelettes to order. We did not have any other meals there, so we can't really comment on the restaurant. We did have a cocktail at the bar, the bartender was friendly and generally attentive. I guess I can say "adequate" as the best description, however to be worth $200 per night, it needs more updating.
Every thing was just perfect in fact we stayed on Sept.14, 2019 and call to stay again on Sept.23rd,2019. If we are ever in the area again we will stay again. It was a haven that first night Sept .24th, 2019
Had a wonderful time at this hotel. Staff was excellent and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and rooms were great. Great location, near Perkins and shopping. Third time staying here and will definitely be back.
From the front desk staff to the cleaning staff, everybody in this BW was fantastic. Very happy to assist in any way. The rooms were inviting and clean! It was the best night sleep I ever had at a hotel.
Very warm friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Clean Room , Great Location. Near Walmart. Just off highway . Breakfast included in price .. food good. Plenty of free coffee tea and water available all day at reception/breakfast area . Nice patio to sit with drinks and relax. Good bar food. If any negatives would be noisy AC unit and rather small bathroom. A double sink unit and bidet would be useful. Good bar drinks , food and atmosphere but limited opening hours a disappointment. Overall the friendly helpful staff and all day coffee facility surpassed any negatives.
The place was great rooms where clean. I didnt have to wait long to check in the lady at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. She even went out of her way to make sure she gave me the right directions to the concert we were going to attend in Bethel.
I have stayed at this BW more than 8 times on business. The staff Ms. Barbara in the breakfast is the best. She is my favorite, Amy @ front desk amazing. I had 1 issue that I feel the manager Ryan didn't handle to my liking that is my only bad experience. But A1 staff all
We stayed here while attending the Woodstock '50 festivities. This was an amazing bargain that we could not match anywhere else within a reasonable drive of Bethel. We had a very quiet room that overlooked the pond and mountains. Staff was courteous, and accommodating. Fresh made omelette to order was a nice option at breakfast. Rooms were clean. The only thing we disliked was the bed was softer than we prefer. Otherwise a great stay. They even let us check out a day early with no charge! If we are ever in that area again, we would definitely stay there.
save your money ,filty place, needs to be updated in hotel rooms, very old bath ,rugs need to be redone, they are redoing the lobby and not the rooms.sink in bath was not working properly, and needs new towels, just not on par with other hotels
We picked this hotel for it's proximity to our route (I 84 East) on a vacation trip for our first visit. We liked it so well that we re-routed a bit on the return to visit again. The hotel is being refurbished and our rooms were complete and very nice. It has a big open entrance and lobby. The breakfast area was spacious and the staff and food was excellent. Lots of fresh items to enjoy. We visited the bar and enjoyed a drink overlooking their lake area too. I had a couple of questions about the area and was pleasantly surprised by the front staff especially Amy who was on duty for both visits. Very pleasant and professional.
We were there after Christmas and walked out before New year's Eve because we were being harrassed by management to leave they came to our room saying all these kind of lies about us we had to leave they needed our room for another guest that was driving them crazy we booked till new years very dissappointed if what they did to us and how we were treated they renervated the hotel called to make a reservation for April 2019 the new manager asked us to please go find another hotel we were not allowed to stay there anymore they owed me like 9 free nights we use to stay there 4-5 nights Everytime but I don't what they did to us for at least 20 years I've been going to this hotel but now under new management they didn't honor there commitment if the free nights and we were told out with old and in with different people I've never did anything wrong there and was treated like a criminal im was a good customer to this hotel and was treated like garbage.thank you Best Western u opened my eyes to all the garbage that was going on in that place I told lots of people I think u probably lost a couple hundred customers. Mad as hell of what u did to me and my wife !!!!!!!!?
Very nice hotel with beautiful grounds. Breakfast was good and they had someone making omelets, which was great. Indoor pool was very warm. The ballroom was very nice where the wedding reception was. Had a very nice time and would stay again.
Room OK, breakfast very good, staff did not set up a crib as requested via two phone calls.and furnished no sheets for it. Self-set up - folding crib would not remain open. Baby cried most of night. There is still no disaster / evacualtion plan as requested during a previous stay in May 2019.
The rooms were Immaculate, great amenities at the hotel...great price!!! full choice and delicious breakfast , I would highly recommend this hotel!! A little tricky to find the entrance behind the other hotel.
For a local inn, this hotel was excellent in every way--its staff, the room, the pool, the fitness center, and the complimentary breakfast. Coffee was available all day. The staff were always helpful and available. The surrounding scenery is lovely. The hotel is close to stores and many types of restaurants.
We love staying in this hotel. It's beautiful inside and out! Love walking outside around the pond and having breakfast at the backyard court. Highly recommend anyone with family or alone, with pets as well!
Clean rooms. Good breakfast in the morning. Our family had dinner in the restaurant and everything was tasty. Walk out to the gazebo for some pretty views and peace & quiet. We crossed the bridge over to Port Jervis and walked around the cute little town there.
We were traveling north to a wedding. This hotel is located in a very scenic area of Pennsylvania and had a beautiful view. Easy on and off of highway. There is a restaurant/bar on site and offers a very varied menu for lunch and dinner at a very reasonable price. No need to walk or drive anywhere else.
The room was dirty. There was an empty beer can found next to the bed upon arrival. Very expensive for an unclean room. Also the walls are extremely thin so you are able to hear your neighbors tv playing.
Great hotel that just went under renovation, clean , great breakfast , pool , and awesome little hotel bar with amazing bartender named Taylor working , she was kind , friendly , and made everyone in bar feel important .
The staff at hotel was nice and very helpful. We were there for the Central Jersey Bike Club . The food given the night before our ride was awesome. My overall experience was great. I'd definitely stay again.
Excellent place to stay. Bountiful breakfast that was kept well stocked even to the end of breakfast hours. Lounge / restaurant on site was a plus. All staff was friendly. Plenty of parking. Close to downtown Milford! Pool, bar, restaurant, courtyard, nice scenery.
DO Not go here front desk is a mess check in is horrible wait time over 40 min...even booking they can't handle! The lines are to the doorway to check in...We were there on time to check in 4:00 waited on line 40 minutes...had to rush getting ready for wedding bus was arriving for 5:30 pick up..gave us the wrong room not a King...had no time to correct...also the bathroom was poorly cleaned & stocked!
We weeree traveling and were looking for a pet friendly motel on the border between New York and Pennsylvania, and this place fit the bill. The facility has recently become a Best Western property and is in the midst of a remodel,The exterior has been redone, but the room I was in was clean but tired. the staff was super friendly and helpful and there is a free buffet breakfast. The price was right, and Best Western is offering a $20 BW card for future use, which made it even more affordable!
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years. I've always enjoyed the comfort of the room as well as the pool and the restaurant. The staff has always been helpful and I'll be staying again soon.
This resort is perfect for our trip for it makes the last day an easy day. Rooms and food are good. The addition of the lounge (Annie's lounge) with decent on site food in the evening is a real plus insted of only being able to order take out.
I was disappointed in this hotel.. I had a certificate for a free night, but I don't think that had anything to do with my room. I'm finicky where I stay, it doesn't have to be fancy but it does need to be clean. The room was upgraded, but poorly done. New carpet, although mine had a rip where the seaming was done. New beds, new furniture, but very cheap formica looking furniture. Bathrooms were not redone, cracked sink, old water stained fixtures in bathtub. Unfortunately for me I did not have a clean room. We had a late check in, and I was already in PJ's so I didn't go down to ask for another room.. I found dried urine on the base of the toilet, dirty inside of toilet, dirty carpet, brown things (looked like stuff that falls off trees) must have been tracked in, but obviously room was not vacuumed. A brown hair on one of the pillows, I have blond hair.... I carry my own pillow so I threw that one on floor. I was there for a one night sleep visit only, and I didn't pay, for which I am glad. Rooms go for about 160 a night there... I would have been very upset paying that for that room. Staff was very nice. That is the only good thing I can say about the place... It must have been a really nice place in it's heyday, but the renovations done to the rooms was really only a quick cheap refresh. The place needs to be gutted. I usually stay in the hampton inn Crystal Run Middletown..That's where I will stay in future. I would not go back here.
The staff was very great and friendly, ready to help you if needed and that made out stay very nice. But the lack of hot water is a real problem, and there is nothing that the staff can do about it until it is fixed for good. My advice manage to take your shower before the other guests and you should be fine. Breakfast is average, do not expect too much about it, but the omelette made on the spot during the weekend were good.
We had to wait over an hour and a quarter for a room (in the lobby in our motorcycle riding clothes). Never seemed to find a manager on duty. Mistakenly checked out early, so no printed invoice. Keys stopped working. Replacements also didn't work. Maintenance had to let us in the room (also standing in the hall in our riding clothes). We didn't realize the hotel was under construction until we got there. Mostly this did not hamper our visit. Breakfast is pretty good. Made-to-order omelettes on the weekend were a tasty plus.
$90 a night is right around the amount of what you would expect to pay for a middle of the road hotel and it was far superior than that. Huge room on the third floor, new amenities, large and comfortable beds, good shower and a great view over pasture land and beyond. The breakfast was excellent and more importantly free in a large breakfast room. The ladies in the breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. Our baby slept soundly all through the night. The hotel is going through renovations but it doesn't affect the experience. Big up to Cathy L on the desk for a friendly check in!
I really don't like to write bad reviews but at times, feel it's necessary. I feel that when you pay over $150 a night for a room, you have certain expectations. That said, the only thing that “saves” this place is the staff. For the most part, they are friendly and helpful. The property is clearly dated and is in the midst of a major renovation. That said, I would expect that a national chain such as the Best Western would have anticipated and planned ways to make it less chaotic for paying guests. Not only that, certain “issues” did not seem to have anything to do with the renovation, I.e. many rooms not being ready for check-in after 4 pm including ours, telephone not working in our room as well as the television, half a roll of toilet paper in Room 429 which we checked into and an empty box of tissue paper, the treadmill not working in the Fitness room which incidentally seemed to be kept at an 80 plus degree temperature! Upon arriving at the hotel, we were directed to a plywood makeshift service desk, the front lobby was roped off, where we waited only to be told the room was not ready. Many other guests were waiting in line with several sitting on their luggage along the hall's walls! We were made aware that if we wanted a room sooner rather than later, we would need to be reassigned a different room the next night which we were okay with, we just were not told that it would be on the pet friendly floor! We had no pets with us and the room had a faint unpleasant odor. Our tv and telephone in Room 429 did not initially work, a walk down to the service desk revealed that we needed to unplug and then replug it, who knew!? I wanted to work out the morning we left and the treadmill did not work, by that time I was sick and tired of going to the front desk! Good luck to future guests,
Stayed here one night was under construction but wasn't bad .First floor is dog friendly we stayed on the fourth floor nice view out the back . The free breakfast is a big hit. The front desk was having Internet problems when we're trying to check in but solve that problem the next morning. There's a Perkins restaurant right down the street. Parking a motorhome and a big truck with no problem. Wasn't a bad night stay for the price. I told the front desk I could get it cheaper on line and she matched the price.
Staff very accommodating and friendly, especially as they were working during a renovation. Trish and Barbara hosted our breakfast buffet. They were friendly and attentive, and made sure the buffet was stocked. Nice job ladies.
We have stayed here before and we were greeted like family. The staff goes out of their way to help make your stay pleasant. The pool area has just been updated and looks like a new pool. The morning breakfast is better than most hotels. Fresh hot eggs , sausage waffles , cereal, toast bagels yogurt and more. They also started making omelets.
Spent two nights here and enjoyed every part of it. The construction was on going but the workers were very professional and did their best to work neat. The room was very clean and the pool was the cleanest hotel pool I have ever seen. The recent remodel there was very nice. We took advantage of the on-site bar/lounge for dinner and it was fabulous! Sure was nice being able enjoy dinner and cocktails with no worries about having to drive back to a hotel. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, from fresh yogurt to the best hotel eggs ever! Stay here you will be happy you did!
Took the kids for overnight since it's been a long winter to do something different and get the kids in the pool Kids had a blast. We asked for rooms be next to each other but that dint work in our favor. Front desk did their best. Breakfast was awesome Bar was good to with good food.
Overall everyone was pleasant and helpful ..At the time of our stay it was under construction but because of staff s great personality the week was smooth and rooms were clean and breakfast area was always cleaned and organized
The hotel is fine. There is construction going on. We were placed in a room (201) directly above the hammering, sawing and drilling in the pool (which is closed) renovation area. Don't understand how this is reasonable customer service. The hotel was not full and there were plenty of available rooms away from the construction area. The front desk did move us upon request although they seemed incredulous that the noise in our room, which, according to the staff would continue until 8 pm, was intolerable. That said, the replacement room was nice and clean, breakfast was good.
The worst nightmare please spend more And Stay in better hotel. Jacuzzi was horrible room have pets smell and bed sheet was not clean luckily we had our own spare bed sheet. Room was stinky and Had hair all over may be from the pet. Basically ppl come and stay over here who got animals.
The best stay in any hotel by far. Very nice, professional folks work here. The room was geeat. The food was top notch. Th e bartender was fast and friendly. Plenty of parking and overall the best place I've stayed at in a long time.
Every now and then me and my family just gets in the car and drive and end up at a hotel. This time it was here. We enjoyed our trip, the view and the pool. The staff was very friendly and we would definitely go back again
The hotel was under construction that's why it got an average rating. The hotel staff especially Alicia was so welcoming. When we were dissatisfied that the pool was closed, Alicia and her manager went out of their way to accommodate us. Barbara was friendly during our breakfast. Breakfast was good too. We liked our room, especially the size of the TV and Jacuzzi. Clean and comfy as well. Lobby could use a better fireplace.
We had not used the Best Western hotel brand in years due to a really bad experience however we stopped at this one on our way south. This place was beautifully decorated, the staff we met were friendly and helpful, the rooms were beautiful. Beds seemed to be brand new. The rooms were well maintained, looked almost new. Would highly recommend this place!
Great staff. Really nice views. Appreciate the pool and outside sitting area in good weather. Nice breakfast and very nice lobby. I really don't have any negative criticism to add. We've stayed there several times in the past few years and I always enjoy my time there.
Check in was a little slow as there was a line and receptionist was rather reserved. My loyalty status was not recognised nor was I offered points or a gift and I didn't feel like a welcome customer. Room was a good size and fairly comfortable. Bathroom was clean and came with complimentary toiletries. Bar/restaurant was closed but a good breakfast was provided with a good selection and the staff did a great job of keeping on top of replenishing items. Would come back here again due to convenient location and fair price. Oh and the hotel is pet friendly so if like me you're allergic to pet hair make sure you get a room where pets have not been.
We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past as a last resort on our way home to Boston from PA (it's a convenient halfway point) and I have, personally, given it a not so great review. We decided this past Saturday to give it another shot and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I believe they are under new management/ownership and I can't believe the changes. It's even had a bit of an exterior facelift and looks great. From check in to check out...and everything in between...we could not have been happier. The young lady who checked us in was just so sweet and very efficient...she even made sure to mention that the first floor was the dog friendly floor so if we heard barking, don't be alarmed. And we were very thankful for the tube of toothpaste we were able to get, rather than having to run to Walmart! The room, where before they were dingy and worn, was really nicely appointed and spotless. The bed was super comfortable, the TV and internet services were problem free and the bathroom amenities were of very good quality. There was only one slight issue and that was the lack of any kind of soundproofing between adjoining rooms. For some reason, even though the people next door were very considerate and not loud at all, it seemed to really echo in our room. But it was not terrible...just something we noticed and got over very quickly. We will definitely make this hotel part of our travel plans again. We really enjoyed our stay!
I have stayed here more than once and each time the staff has been very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and check-in/check-out process went quickly. Facility has many amenities and pleasant surroundings. There is also a bar(Annie's) that serves some tasty food. Will return to this location when in this area for sure.
Nice hotel with lots of little extras, IE: Chocolate chips and marshmallows for the hot chocolate always available, fresh fruit always available, nuts & dried fruits and granola for the yogurt and hot cereal, chocolate chips and whipped cream for the waffles etccomfortable and friendly hotel.
Stopped last night. Was told that we were getting a military discount but when I checked price, we didn't get any discount at all. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. I gave three stars because the breakfast served was really good. The lady that was therBarbara, was very nice. The room was standard, not bad and not great. Still upset that we paid full price after we were told we were getting a discount.
Hotel is a little old could use a refresh. Could not sleep at all due to people walking the hallways and opening and closing doors until 2AM. When peopled closed there doors, ours rattled too. The room was fairly clean, PPV on TV didn't work, The bathroom shows it's age the most. Water would not go down the drain.
I stayed for the Weekend with a group of 60, for a College friends get-together. Every single step of the stay was A TRUE PLEASURE. The Reception Staff was patient and of course SUPER friendly. The entire Hotel including the stair case smelled fresh and pleasant. I tried the gym, I used the pool (Which was also made available after hours) The temperature of the pool was just perfect. It didn't have the typical chlorine smell. We used the huge dining room and kitchen. The meals where SO RELAXING at this beautiful ball room with high, nicely decorated ceiling and stylish carpet. The sleeping rooms were newly renovated. chick and stylish. still had the brand new feel to it. the beds were super comfy. The hallway was beautifully re-done. Stylish carpets, nice paintings on the wall. and even in the winter the outside scenery was BREATHTAKING! Me and my friends would definitely come back.
We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Inn at Hunt's Landing. We stayed for our anniversary and the staff made everything very special for us. We would definitely stay again! A very nice stay for the value.
the breakfast, the cleanliness of the rooms, indoor pool, great tasting food and a great bar pet friendly what else could you want for a hotel the tv's have been improved with free hbo and starz. great place
Good place for an overnight stay. We did not spend enough time there to go explore the rest of the facilities. The room was clean but could have used some updates and TLC. I will stay there again when I am in that area again.
The hotel is very well kept, clean, hospitable, and comfortable .I would recommend it to everyone. It was my last stop on a two week adventure to tour the south and visit family in the midwest.it is well located and very accessible.
My little family and I had to stay here overnight essentially just for a place to lay our heads. We got in late (just before night audit), and the staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. They checked us in quickly, we got to the room and everything was clean and in working order. We appreciated the heat lamp in the bathroom since it was freezing and we're from Florida lol. We essentially showered and went to sleep, and woke up around 930 am the next morning - which is unheard of for my 2 kids so I KNOW the comfy beds did their job! The hallways were quiet in the morning, which is not always the case in hotels with housekeeping trying to get rooms cleaned and whatnot. So that was greatly appreciated as we got dressed and headed out. Check out was a breeze; everything was ready for us when we were leaving. We unfortunately didn't take advantage of the breakfast which night audit informed us was really good, but maybe next time!
Very professional and friendly staff, delicious breakfast not rushing guests even though we came in late as we arrived in the middle of the night (no problem with that).Very comfortable bed, beautiful view from the window, beautiful room and very clean.
Although many people said to check into this place for son's wedding in March, I felt bad that I recommended it. My future daughter in law loved it. It was due to be renovated before March 2019 which would have been nice. Everything looked nice and would have worked very nicely especially when our family is from Sullivan County, NY and her family is mainly from Atlantic City, NY. Nice Central location. My daughter in law booked immediately. However, when asking about some menu options things that we were told was included (even though it was in black and white) the wedding coordinator told her it wasn't part of the package. Maybe there should be a little flexibility? Good thing she found this stuff out early enough. They are a young couple just starting out and to ad insult to injury they will lose $500 deposit and she cancelled over a month ago which is six months before the wedding date! But at least they will save a little money at the new place. We only wish we could have worked things out. Your place seemed very nice. So disappointed.
Perfect location. Restaurants, Shopping and great area to see the change to fall season. Indoor heated pool was perfect. Front desk were very accomodating.. Breakfast was a large selection but the hours are 6-9, to early. Restaurant is not open at this rime. Wish I knew but found others close by.
We stopped there on the way home from Maine. We were exhausted and just wanted to find a nice comfortable place to go. This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! The bed was amazing! The shower was nice. Room was clean. Everything we needed to get a good night's sleep. Thanks Best Western!!!
There is a rsstaruant/bar which has good food but customers at the bar was turn down. Room was nice n bed comfortable. Check in person wasn't the friendliest. Breaksfast was well stocked n worker in the room cleaning up after you n wiping tables down.
Business travel and excellent stay/value. Food at breakfast was above expected and staff was attentive and ready to help if there was a problem. a five star experience at a three star price.WOW and I will consider the BW brand in the future now.
We had my daughter's wedding at the Best Western this past weekend. The staff was wonderful, hotel clean and updated and food was awesome. Zorianna was the perfect wedding planner. The bar was open later for all who wanted to keep partying and everyone had a blast. The price was very reasonable and guests were able to stay in the same place as the venue. could not have asked for anything better. Thank you Best Western.
Came up to visit family and loved seeing the big mountain as we pulled in to register. Registration was fast. Room as some was right near everything on first floor as I had my elderly mother traveling with me. Staff were very friendly with lots of smiles. Breakfast had a staff member refill your coffee at the table like in a real restaurant...never had that at the buffet before at other BW's. I would return. I would like to see the finished renovations that were being done.
Stayed here many years ago for Easter break. Was being renovated at the time but was still great. This time, the staff and facilities were right on track! Would recommend this hotel to anyone, from the pool to the bar to the rooms!
First of all - dining. There seemed to be one place open (the lounge). The meal I got was good, but very pricey for what it was - you get a dinner entree but no bread, salad, soup, or anything. I basically had to wait on myself as well - but that was true everywhere at this hotel. I arrived and sat but no one brought a menu - went and got one. Food came but no offer before of what I wanted to drink - I went up and asked. I went up and got my bill at the end. I'd go elsewhere. Rooms have been refurbished, but ceiling in mine was still not looking great. But was very clean. Soaps and such are good quality. Check in was rough - it probably took 25 minutes. I waited in line behind them handling someone with complicated orders - that's ok. But another man walked in, leaned on the counter interrupting them, and they then waited on him, even though I'd been standing there (and they could obviously see me). This was really, unfortunately, the type of service I received throughout. Long waits, disinterested staff. I had chosen this as they had a pool. It's dirty. Like, grime on the walls kids have carved initials and words in. Pass on the pool unless they do some maintenance. Overall, if traveling with a dog (they seemed very pet friendly - which also led to a lot of barking noise) go here. Otherwise, I think the others in the area are a better bet.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly the breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I was only passing through on my way to Boston so only stayed one night, A based on that 1 night I would highly recommend this hotel
I had heard that that this hotel had recently underwent renovations. If this is the case I'd hate to see what it looked like before! Like putting perfume on a pig! I paid double for this room what I paid at a 5 star hotel the night before. WAY overpriced for what you get. I feel like the pictures are misleading and make you think you are getting a lovely Inn in the mountains, and what you are getting is an average hotel right off the highway! The bathroom is extremely small. You have to move beside the toilet to even be able to close the door when you are in there. The sheets are very low quality as well as the towels. So small you can't completely cover yourself as an average sized adult. Also there was an odd smell...as if the room had previously been a smoking room and during the "renovation" they converted tho whole hotel to non smoking. The wifi connection was so bad that we ultimately converted our phone to a hot spot so we could use the internet. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are in a bind or unless you get a really good deal on the room.
Location, over all the hotel and staff very nice and helpful and always with a smile. Would recommend this hotel to all. The indoor pool and breakfast area is great and also the most important thing of any stay in hotel is the staff is nice always had a smile on their face and helpful to make sure that your enjoyong your stay
Easy to get to from the main road which was a big plus for a UK driver! Hotel is clean and quite smart if a little old fashioned looking in parts but it's rather charming for all that and I understand they are renovating some areas. We checked in and realised that we hadn't been given the mountain view we paid extra for but this was soon rectified and seems to have been an error on the part of booking.com. The new room was a lovely view over the pond and mountains ...yes there was a tree in the way but that's fine....there are a lot of trees around here! We decided to just hang in the hotel for the evening and not venture out for dinner as we had had a long drive that day. Had a lovely time sat outside on the large patio overlooking the pond and watching and hearing the wildlife. We chose some food from the bar menu and our server David looked after us really well, helping us out with the menu....I am a vegetarian and was rather limited in what I could eat, but I had the pierogies to start and a pizza with garden salad which made for a decent meal. We were able to enjoy our food outside, sipping wine and watching the sun go down...a really nice evening made special by the attentive service. Bar closes at 9.30pm which seems quite early for a hotel but we were finished by then anyway. Good nights sleep in a comfortable king sized bed, clean and tidy room with fridge, microwave and hot drink facilities. Good sized tv, effective air con, black out curtains. Breakfast is 6-9am, quite an early finish but hopefully the husband wakes up soon so we can go and try it :) A very nice stay, thank you for your hospitality
On-line rate is cheaper than calling direct to the hotel. Problem with reserving on-line: "timed-out" several times. Finally, called 800-number to get the online rate. VERY pet-friendly; in fact there was a dog show at the facility. I guess the first floor was filled with people and their pets. Yipping dog was next door on the 2nd floor. It stopped yipping sometime after 10 p.m., but began shortly after 6 a.m. After a very busy day and driving through intense storms, I had trouble falling asleep, so I had a short night. Elevator aroma of wet-dog. That said, the room was clean, the breakfast food was the usual fare, the staff was nice.
One of the best hotels i have stayed in ! Super clean, comfortable bed, clean comfortable pool, and spacious rooms, breakfast is also great!! The bar was awesome too ! Pretty good drinks. I will deff go again
The hotel room was not clean. Barking dogs kept us up most of the night. At breakfast there were so many dogs in the breakfast room we had to leave and get our breakfast in a local restaurant. The entire experience was dreadful. We were with another couple, the only reason we did not leave and seek another hotel. AAA rated this hotel a three diamond. I would rate it a piece of coal.
The rooms need some work. Our ceiling was peeling and looked as if there was mold by the window. The bathroom just did not seem "fresh" and the over all room needed a better cleaning...dust on the pictures and ledges, old coffee under the coffee maker, things on the floor that were not ours. The beds were clean and since we mostly used the rooms for sleeping..that is a plus.,.
This is a very conveniently located hotel. It is very easy to get off and on I84. The rooms are in need of updating and generally redoing. The new community breakfast room is not as good as the former breakfast in the restaurant.
The room itself was comfortable and the bed was good. Because I had had some bad experience with beds in various hotels I wanted to make sure the bed was firm, which I like. I was told that I was locked into the room no matter what even though many people have not checked in yet. We were traveling cross-country, had stayed in many hotels, and had never heard of such a thing! In addition I had done quite a bit of traveling for business. Thank goodness the bed was firm. The checkin agent had a distinct foreign accent. Trying to be friendly we asked her where she was from she said across the street. This sort of cutesy attitude did not sit well with us. I don't know why she was ashamed of where she was from.
We last stayed here about four years ago. At that time, we received vouchers which covered the full cost of a continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant, or most of the cost of a cooked to order breakfast there. The restaurant overlooks a pond. Now breakfast is served in a breakfast room which overlooks their parking lot. Previously, we received 2 vouchers for a beer or soda in the lounge. No vouchers any more.
I stayed this past weekend for an annual rafting trip with s large group of family and friends. My group has been doing this for easily ten years now and has used BW for most of our stays. For the price they charge, I expect considerably better amenities. While renovations were occurring during the visit, it should not have affected the issues I had problem with. The breakfast was limited and the room that breakfast was served in could not accommodate for many people at one time. They used to have a much nicer selection of breakfast food and in a larger room. The beds and pillows were not comfortable at all. You can go across the street to the Hampton Inn, pay virtually the same price by receive a nicer stay. Perhaps management has changed since I stayed there last July, if so, change in this situation is NOT for the better.
We stayed here during our trip from NH to FL. The biggest reason I chose this is cause we have a cat and they allow pets. It's an extra $30 which was fine cause our cat is worth it. We got a king size bed which was super comfortable. I was also excited to see a mini fridge and microwave in the room. The bathroom wasn't super clean but we were only staying one night, so it didn't bother me too much. Then the best part was free breakfast, we were so happy about that cause we just wanted to get on the road again to our super long journey. Also the employees were so nice.
Overnight stay was fine. Hotel going through a complete makeover will be nice when finished. Hopefully cieling tiles will be changed in bathroom. Breakfast was a nice selection of hot and cold foods. I would recommend if traveling through to stop for a good night's sleep
A year and a half ago I said I probably wouldn't be back. But the group I was with said the hotel had been recently renovated and it was more efficient to stay onsite for our cat show, so I gave it a go. I arrived a little before 11pm on a Friday evening. At check in, Rosa cannot find my reservation. I give her every last name it could be under (being married, divorced and remarried things get confusing sometimes!) and she can't find me. I find my confirmation in my email and give her the folio number. She finds that my room is already checked in. She calls the room to find out yes it is occupied. The person who was checked into my room shared the same last night, so upon check in he gave his last name and the evening clerks grabbed the first one. Never confirmed his payment method, my CC was still on the room (he was a direct bill with the group, I was not.) After about 30 minutes Rosa was able to come up with a room for me, and discounted my rate $7/night for the trouble. Sunday afternoon the group leader is at the front desk so I stopped over to ensure that the room that had been accidentally checked in indeed had the correct billing info and that my CC would not be charged. The desk clerk there noted in the file to use the different card, not mind. Here it is Tuesday and on my bank statement, I have two charges. One for my room and one for the accidentally checked in room. I've called the hotel and they claim the charges will be reversed and I should see the credit come through. So my biggest gripe is with the front desk clerks who need to be verifying who is going into the room and the payment methods they are using, and changing accordingly. This hotel was sold out all weekend, things would not have been very pleasant had Rosa not been able to jockey some things around and find me a room. The room itself has indeed been refreshed. I wouldn't call it renovated as it's still the same old walls, same dirty ceiling tiles. But carpeting, bedding and furniture is all new. All light fixtures worked, water pressure in shower good, plenty of outlets to plug electronics and chargers into. Bed comfortable. Breakfast each morning was excellent. It's a convenient property for the group I show with and is one of a very few that accept animals. The one banquet room that our show uses is very dimly lit. When they get to renovating that area lighting should be improved. But it's a nice location convenient right off the highway. My biggest gripe is the incompetent desk staff (except Rosa, she was pretty awesome!)
We recently stayed at the Best Western in Matamoris, PA. The room was ready earlier than scheduled. The first thing we noticed that the toilet was running and it was flushing itself. Shouldn't the cleaning maid have heard the toilet water running and not stopping when she was cleaning the room. We went down to the front desk and a repairman came immediately to repair it. The room was old and in desperate need of an extreme makeover. The carpet was dirty and in need of replacement. The microwave frame was worn and needs to be replaced. There was a lot of mold on the shower wall and were the floor tile and wall tile met it was filthy water stains on the bathroom ceiling. A light fixture in the room was not flush with the ceiling...I can go on and on about this hotel. There is a sign near the lobby that says the hotel is being refurbished but the only evidence of this is a person painting the outside of the car port and a paving company repaying the parking lot. The management seems to be focused on the outside and totally neglecting the inside. Best Western should be ashamed of the condition of this hotel. Don't stay here try the Hampton Inn located in front of the Best Western it can't be any worse. Or better yet go into Milford, PA and stay at a quaint hotel...just 8 miles from Matamoris. I have stayed at many hotels but this was the worst.
This hotel is old, rundown and just plain nasty. I say run away as fast as you can. In addition to the horrible room. The front desk staff (a.m.) was not helpful at all. When I asked about local attractions she said,
Had to attend a funeral so we spent the night st the Best Western. So disappointing. Ordered 2 rooms. We needed attached rooms (one handicapped accessible) as we were traveling with our 91 year old father. We arrived and they said they had our 2 rooms - one on the first floor and one on the third floor. When we told them what we had requested they simply said the hotel was booked solid and they couldn't fill our request. AND THEY WRRE RUDE!!! On top of that I was charged more than what was advertised on the web - $60.00 more. They said we should have booked through the website for the cheaper price instead of calling. Worried about our Dad all night. Our room looked like the bathroom gets a wipe down instead of a scrubbing. Drains were nasty. Shower was too nasty to get into. It seems like this is a hotel for the young locals to drag in a cooler and party all night - a lot of that going on. The corridor on the first floor had a nasty odor of fish. It was just a lousy stay.
The reception desk ladies were courteous and friendly, but the room was awful. The plumbing was outdated: the bathroom didn't seem very clean. The light switch plate was dirty and the bathtub would not drain. There was a horrible black ugly carpet. A couple of the heavy doors leading outside were sticky to the touch. The furniture was unattractive, the bed was uncomfortable, and I dislike how the room was dominated by a huge TV screen (as I don't watch TV). Sorry to be so negative, but if all the rooms are like this, the motel is badly in need of renovations.
Staff is friendly, especially Barbara in the morning breakfast area. Beds are really comfortable, AC was good. Breakfast area is decent with good coffee, egg and sausage selection. A lot of construction workers use this hotel so that affects the lack of tidiness. However, overall it is a good value and we slept well, which well suited our purpose.
Were staying in Shawnee and had a power outage for a couple of days. Were lucky to get one of the last rooms at the inn. We appreciated it even more after spending a night without power. Comfortable room with king and jacuzzi.
We were staying at this hotel to attend a wedding. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and it came with a breakfast included. The check in took seconds. We only wish we had more time to spend. There was a lovely restaurant and beautiful scenic lake.
Funky, moldy smell in lobby upon entering. Staff was not the most helpful. Needed directions to a popular area destination (Cedar Lake Estates) which had reserved a block of rooms for a wedding, and was given the address written down on a piece of paper and was told to Google it When I questioned which direction I should head in upon leaving the parking lot, the front desk receptionist was unable to tell me as she claimed she did not know. Room assigned overlooked the parking lot, but was roomy and clean. Very limited bathroom condiments - 1 very small Aquamer conditioning shampoo that was not enough for the 2 room occupants, 2 squares of soap - one for sink and one for tub. Tissue box was more than half empty and the 2 rolls of toilet paper were each less than half full as well with no extras anywhere. We had to call for more and housekeeping responded quickly. For $10 more, I would probably opt to stay at the Hampton Inn right across from the Best Western next time I was in the area.
My mom is 92 years old and in a wheelchair. My sister and I try to take her on a few overnight stays a year. It is difficult to find a room with the bed the right height and firmness and a large enough bathroom that is really handicapped accessible and safe. This room was perfect. This hotel also offered my sister and I a lot of activities to do while my mom rested or watched tv, the indoor pool was directly across from the room we were in, the bar lounge and restaurant were on grounds and accessible, the free complimentary breakfast was better than most with a waffle maker and the grounds were very nice. The fitness room was small but sufficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a very relaxing stay
We have been coming to this hotel for years, this time there was some kind of dog show gong on when we were there. We feel that when I called to make the reservation that we should have been told that there would be SO many dogs there. Don't get me wrong, we love dogs...but these dogs were everywhere and they were yappers!! Barking all day, all night long! I guess people left them alone in the rooms, which is terrible! After we checked in and went to the room, the barking started. We waited a little bit and when it didn't stop my husband called the front desk. The girl that answered the phone said if it is still going on tonight we will see what we can do!! The weather was beautiful so we slept with the window open and all night long people walked their dogs outside our window and talked to each other, not quietly either!! On a good note, the hotel has done some renovations and it looks good. The room had new furniture, but the same old tired looking couch, why leave one old thing in the room? Doesn't make sense to me! What they really need is some new pillows, the pillows that they give you are about half the size as a standard pillow! It looks like a baby pillow! Please get real pillows!!
This is a great facility for a group meeting. Everything is there for you and there are also several great restaurants just up the road in Milford. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable.
The advertisement on the web is totally misleading. No restaurants with no menus as described. There is only one bar lounge, with one page of 4-6 offerings that is cash only and cannot be charged back to your room. Housekeeping is the worst I've experienced, and we are typically not fussy. Would have been better if we just picked up towels at the front desk everyday. And consider the barking dogs at 5AM. Unless you are a dog-lover, stay away..
I was on my way to another city & this was cheapest place I can find. Great location, geat staff, clean room, and as mentioned, great price. My only complain - the AC/Heater was loud. Kept me up a few times...which was an issue since I had a busy day the next day. I think I woke up 4-5 times.
Was happy to get a room here for a few nights while we waited to get power and water back. Reception staff seemed overwhelmed as the hotel was fully booked so check-in was fairly slow. Good sized room and bathroom and comfortable bed, quiet too.. The fridge and microwave were a nice plus. There was work going on in the hotel and there was work related mess on the carpet almost every day. Breakfast had a reasonable selection and we liked the fresh fruit salad when it was available. We had dinner one night in the bar and although the filling was good, the bread was soggy. Apart from the Saturday night, the rate was fair. Not a bad hotel by any means but not the best Best Western we have stayed in. However I would stay there again in similar circumstances.
The rooms are fresh and clean. The bed was very comfy. However the Air/heater very noisy The new brkfast nook bright and inviting. The powered eggs are not a hit with me ,the rest of the brkfast was hot and fresh.Snow and ice when we arrived and the mess was never removed from the side walk. Very hazardous. I would stay there again !
It was an average hotel. Not really what I expected from the Best Western. There were two ladies in the entire staff that were helpful. The rooms were okay but not something I would pay for again. I wasn't impressed.
Hotel is in great condition and has very friendly staff. I was made comfortable in my room and the breakfast was wonderful. Best of all they have a bar/restaurant with an amazing group of bartenders. In particular there is a bartender named Taylor that goes above and beyond to make sure your food and drinks and made to your standars. Most places don't have a staff that is this committed. Best stay I've had while traveling.
excellent hotel with many helpful amenities. It has indoor pool, a great breakfast and restaurant the rooms have a fridge and a microwave and it is pet friendly great for families very near town of milford and the delaware runs behind it.....
Excellent stay -- staff was very professional from booking to check-in and out. Hotel was very clean, comfortable and warm. I will make sure this one is saved and my first call next time.Breakfast was one of the best I have had in the area.
This hotel is staffed by some of the most personable, fun, professional, and dedicated folks that I have encountered in their industry. Taylor, Rosa, and Nancy were a delight, and made me feel at home from the moment I walked into the hotel. It is certainly not the most luxurious or well-appointed hotel (far from it), but the amazing staff made my stay an unforgettable experience.
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel....We look forward to visiting the hotel in the future. We believe that quality customer service, and staff providing professional courtesy will drive revenue and exceed customers expectation.Thank you!
It's unfair to rate this hotel because it's undergoing renovation. But who knows how long it'll take to complete the update, so here goes: the facelift is much-needed. The place is clean, but tired. The hall carpeting is quite worn, as is the bedroom's. The beds are just OK, and the pillows are three-quarter size. Shorting the pillows seems a foolish way to cut costs; they really are inadequate. The heating system in the room is devilish. I never did figure out how to get the heat to turn off--so I simply wasted it by opening the window. It was either waste heat or suffocate. Not much of a choice! The breakfast is what you expect, but it's presentation is not great. Perhaps in an effort to make the choices look more expansive than they actually are, the offerings are spread out in a very disjointed way. This odd arrangement does nothing to reduce congestion around the toaster or the eggs, but it does convey a sense that the designers didn't know what they were doing. Then there is the selection of TV stations--very limited for a hotel of this type, and at least one of the channels allegedly offered (food network) is not. On the plus side, the hotel is pet-friendly, and on Thanksgiving weekend was loaded with dogs, including mine. This is a big plus--the things we put up with for our pooches! Also, the free internet is fast and reliable. Maybe the renovation will work magic; in which case, I'd be happy to give the place another chance. In the meantime, I wouldn't stay here again unless I was traveling with my dog.
I reviewed this hotel a while back and I'm happy to say that the renovations are improving the place. I stayed two nights this past weekend and didn't have any problems. My only gripe would be that the hotel should replace the microwave ovens with new ones.
best short term stay ever. we found everyone to be helpful polite and eager to make our stay all that it should be. we would tell anyone heading the way we did to use this hotel. i know we are fussier then most so i feel most people will be pleasantly surprised.
Accommodation was great. They are doing an excellent job in redecorating and updating. Front Desk was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and good assortment of breads and muffins. Must say the coffee was wonderful,
Do not bother to check in, this property was a shinning jewel 15 years ago but now it has a shortage of employees, employees with attitudes and the customers can wait. Although the signs say they are upgrading the property it does not show it, leaking walls, broken rugs, leaking toilets. Try somewhere else save yourself from dissapointment.
We have stayed here whenever we are in town or passing through. Rates are reasonaable, rooms are comfortable, people are friendly and there's a free breakfast and a great view. Breakfast service was excellent. Our waitperson, Nancy, did and excellent job of making us feel welcome and comfortable.
My friend and I stayed here prior to attending a wedding. Keep in mind this is a no frills hotel. There are no bell hops to help with luggage . They do have carts for you to use-these carts need to be updated. There is self parking. Very few amenities in the room. We wanted to shut off the air conditioning and called the front desk. They said they would try to help but no one ever came. We had a voucher for breakfast. Breakfast is buffet style and selections were limited. Wait staff were helpful. Room was clean.
The motel is undergoing renovations and knowing that the existing rooms are just waiting their turn to be renovated. For example, the finish on the desk in the room was peeling. Turning on the faucet in the bathroom resulted in black residue flowing with the water. It cleared up after letting the water run for awhile. There are tarps everywhere. On the good side, the grounds are spacious and it is within walking distance of a Perkins restaurant which served an excellent dinner at a very reasonable price. I'd wait till after the renovations are completed before returning.
We have stayed here many times in the past. When I called to make reservation I spoke to Corey, she was so helpful and pleasant. When we checked in, we got to meet her, and she was just as pleasant as she was on the phone. We knew they were doing renovations on the hotel, so I asked Corey if we could have a room that was renovated. She said yes. When we got in our room, there was the same old furniture, new lamps, fresh pain on the walls, same old bathroom...not much of a renovation!! They were working all around the hotel, so hopefully they are not finished with the rooms! The rooms are ok, clean...but really need some updating! I must say I don't know what is up with their pillows, the pillows are like the size of a throw pillow that you would have on your couch. There were 4 of them for a king size bed, but even so, it still looked ridiculous. I have never stayed at a hotel that gives you such tiny pillows, and several rooms were left open while the housekeepers cleaned and I could see all the pillows looked the same!! I hope new, normal size pillows are in the budget for the renovation!!
From the time I made the reservation to the time we checked in everyone I spoke with seemed agitated and in a bad mood. When making the reservation the receptionist was so overwhelmed she asked if she could call me back. (She didn't by the way). I made the reservation 5 months in advance of when I needed it. I called the week before to confirm as I was reserving 3 rooms for a wedding, and the receptionist was annoyed with my questioning and argumentative. I offered to call her at a better time, and she apologized. The next day, I received a phone call telling me the hotel overbooked and they were moving my reservation to another hotel (never was this mentioned, and remind you I reserved 5 months prior and the wedding party was providing transportation to the venue from Best Western, not a neighboring hotel). Overall frustrating, wouldn't recommend!
My son and future daughter-in-law booked blocks in this hotel at least 10 months ago for their wedding close by. Three days prior to the wedding they (Kathy) started randomly selecting guests and canceling their rooms! She gave the bogus reason that they had not given a credit card when if fact the guests had a confirmation number and cc on the confirmation. Now, honestly, would a hotel ever book a room without taking a credit card? Some guests were told their cc expired, if that were true (which is doubtful), why wouldn't they call and ask for another card or upon check in, when the cc would be run just ask for another card. Again, those that were given this bogus excuse had valid expiration dates. Staff was rude upon checking in, especially to the bride and groom who now had all of this extra anxiety. One guest who had 2 rooms booked and 1 canceled was then charged an extra person fee and a cot fee so they could all crowd into 1 room! Unbelievablely awful experience that no hotel guest should ever go through!
I would not stay again due to odor and room amenities. The room could certainly use updating; the shower walls and ceiling needed work. The odor was offensive, but this was the second room we were shown and smelled less than the first. Perhaps the smell was indicative of rooms for guests with pets, but never have experienced such odor at other hotels.
Family had a wonderful weekend this past Columbus Day weekend. This hotel had the most polite and friendly staff. From the front desk to housecleaning Very accommodating. Never got to use the pool I would stay again
Too much to write... so here it is in list form. Room reservation mix up... Booked a Jacuzzi... no Jacuzzi Room smelled Room was dirty Room was musty Room was damp Giant spider in room Another unidentifiable bug No shower liner in shower + Red/brown stain on carpet + Blood spatter on lamp by bed = Pretty sure a crime happened here Understaffed restaurant (1 bartender 60+ people) No security No bouncer Had to call police Vending machine didn't work.... Construction noises Overall just bad.
From the moment we checked in horrible experience- requested 2 adjoining rooms when I booked reservation or if not at least close together for. When we checked in although other family members were on our floor and as close as across the hall . my daughters room was on a different floor - . and the complementary breakfast - was several pieces of fruit and bran muffins - . We arrived at 9AM there were no eggs or pancakes left -. When we asked about more eggs being made, we were told they'd be out soon, but after 25 minutes r someone came out and said there was no more of the "liquid eggs" left, would we like them to make us, each like 2 eggs.... One star rating is being generous - -
Love this hotel- scenic views from room window. But mostly it was the excellant and persoable staff- so refreshing in the present corporat world take overs. Big rooms, wonderful full breakfasts beautiful grounds.
Excellent hotel under renovation. What has been renovated is perfect. I especially enjoyed the breakfast in a proper restaurant with personal service as far as drinks are concerned. It will be an excellent place for receptions, lectures, weddings with the beautiful garden at the back. Will stay there again, excellent location for traveling along I-84. And quiet at night, good for the weary traveler.
Our two double beds room was large and comfortable. The TV selection was off-air and cable. The location off & on the interstate was very convenient. The loud room heat pump was our only complaint. The pool was warm and the breakfast selection very good and fresh.
The restaurant was closed the evening I arrived, apparently because the inn didn't have enough overnight guests for the chef to feel it was worthwhile. Obviously a disappointment to a weary traveler. Room was comfortable, with a sofa for relaxed seating. Clean throughout. High points: bartender in the lounge, who was able to get me some food from the closed kitchen--friendly, helpful. Breakfast was great, with an excellent server. Low points: closed restaurant, seemed a bit expensive for what I received though I'm not familiar with rates in the area.
This hotel is horrible. High priced for absolutely nothing. Appearance is terrible, ceilings had holes in it, bathroom walls had holes in it. Beds were like trampolines. Staff is discourteous. Don't waste your money. It is highly over priced.
The wedding food quality was very very average and fish was raw not cooked . Trays were emptied when our table went up and had to wait or come back to get some food Wedding room was nice just needs to be a little updated
For the money I expected more. The Staff was exceptional and the breakfast was great. The water pressure in the shower was unacceptable. I forgot to ask if there was construction going on. There was. One of two elevators was out of service on the Labor Day Weekend. They just should have waited till after that weekend. At least the recognize they needed to remodel Lastly the staff was top rate
I felt this stay was too short, with the great room we had and the amenities would loved have stayed longer. Plenty of things to see in the area we have never seen and also I could have just held up in the room and slept, very comfortable.
The short story, this hotel is in major need of a major renovation! This place was filthy. Starting outside, it looks like a very very old hotel. The pictures that are on trip advisor look different to me than what I saw. The halls smell of mold and mildew, the rooms are very very dated. The pillows are lumpy (all of them!!) and the carpets in the room make you feel like you don't want to take your shoes off. Ice machines only worked on 1 of 3 floors. I travel a lot for business and pleasure. Me personally, I'd never recommend this place to anyone.
The hotel Best Western inn. is at an amazing location. If the guests have a problem during the atay the hotel staff handles it amazingly. There is a gaming room, a fitness room, a pool, and a pond with abig piece of land.
Place was filthy. The guest before me paid $70 for the room in cash, when I paid more than double that with a reservation over 30 days in advance. I had the pleasure of having to flush the previous guests "business" when checked in, which left an extremely foul smell throughout the room. Had a nice pile of vomit left in the entrance on one of the evenings that took several hours before it was cleaned up. Not a place I would send anyone to.
Pet-friendly! That's what counts! Two pools, one indoor, one outdoor. A nice patio and a nice view. Too bad trees obscured the river because it would've been even prettier. Can see High Point in NJ from here, especially at night. The room was fine, bathroom okay. Nothing disappointing, nothing to rave about. Simply put, nice and good enough. We're here to hike the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and this is much better than camping! Microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker are all in the room. So, can't ask for more, really. Clean enough. Nice enough. I'd come back.
Room was clean with a microwave and fridge. Pool is indoor and clean but pool area needs updating. Lounge chairs not padded and very hard. Breakfast buffet was ok only because of make your own waffles.
very clean pleasant staff clean and comfortable and clean rooms the breakfast was good the only problem with the breakfast was that the hot food bins were almost empty by 8:15 am beautiful dining room the grounds were kept the lobby was clean and the employee that checked us in was very pleasant would highly recommend close to restaurants and shopping
Best place to stay that we have been in all summer on our trips. The service was impeccable and the breakfast selections were great. Having waitresses bringing us coffee was delightful as was was conversations with the off-duty staff which was enlightening.
Best and closest hotel to the delaware river. Our family enjoyed our stay and the staff are always willing to address our needs.Breakfast was a enjoyable experience, the food and service was great. Thank you BEST WESTERN.
Excellent front desk and housekeeping services! Bed and A/C were very comfortable and the room was clean. Internet signal was weak and kept going in and out. Breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choices! Pool has a handicapped lift, which made it easy to get in and out for me!
Very nice Hotel , great staff, great breakfast , clean rooms and comfy beds. Kids enjoyed it as well. beautiful view in the restaurant also great waitresses will highly recommend to friends and family
Stayed here in the past. Used to be a nice hotel with a good bar/restaurant. Now,not much food selection, food just ok if that now, draft beer glasses dirty, things floating in. Went to buy candy from vending machine, got a nasty ,way past due candy bar.2 years plus outdated!attached is the date from my wrapper:( Now not hungry. Also front desk backed up and super slow. Even though o felt bad for lady checking people in,horrible customers at times. May not stay here again, due too this stay!
Very nice hotel. A little hard to find but worth it. Breakfast is actually in a dining room with good real food and table service! Clean rooms! No odors! Can walk to a plaza and restaurants. April at front desk is amazing!
The overwhelming good point about the hotel was the staff team. They were warm, courteous, efficient and went the extra mile. It continued throughout our stay and we became a fairly large group - nothing was too much trouble and it made it feel like a family hotel, really lovely. From finding taxis when none were available, giving us all salad with a meal and staying open well after hours to serve us, to helping me when I had hurt my head to letting me call my elderly mother in London from their office (my cell phone couldn't connect) - their response consistently was 'how can I help?' Yes, it's not the smartest of hotels, but it was clean, the pool was lovely as were the grounds, the breakfasts were good, there was plenty of space and it was truly friendly.
Room was very dated - the 80's were calling. My husband is an exterminator and upon inspection of the room for bed bugs (none of them), we found it to be very dirty - it appears that they only cleaned the areas that were visible, though the bottom of the toilet was disgustingly dirty. The room also had a damp/musty feel and smell. Feet got wet walking on carpet - bedding was damp to the touch. Only two good points, at check-in Corie was very nice & they had a large quantity of towels in the room.
If you like polyster sheets, stains on walls , a bathroom that is just a toilet and a tub and that circa 1964 black leather couch smell, stay here. If you like clean large rooms that are sparkling new and the same price, please stay at the Hampton Inn next door.
The hallway and the rooms had a very musty smell and the ceiling in the shower could be replaced. Could have more towels and soap as well as a little more shampoo. The pool was great so was the view but the rooms could be updated, especially the bathroom.
I stayed at the hotel while attending a Tai Chi workshop. It was convenient to the location and easy to access. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. It is a typical mid-level hotel, the staff was helpful and I didn't have any noisy neighbors.
This hotel is fine if you're looking for something quick, affordable and easy. I traveled with two young kids so having the pool was nice, and while a "game room" is advertised, it's so small it's more appropriately called a game closet. The staff is super nice, the rooms are pretty clean (although my bathroom smelled like mildew) and the internet is so pathetically slow that you won't even want to use it despite it being free.
Had a great experience. Ouldlove staying at this hotel again when we travel to New Hampshire. Everything went very well. Pleased with the breakfast. We could not understand menus offering but a wait person explained. Also, hot food was placed in pans (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage) after we had finished breakfast. Could order from menu but didn't. Why was hot food brought out so late?
Please do not stay here. When I walked into the room I looked at mattresses and they all had holes in them. The walls were soaking wet and smelled like mildew. The rooms are dark and dingy. We checked in and then we immediately checked out and went across the street to the Hampton Inn which was beautiful.
This is a great place to stay if you have small pets. We have two shih tzus and it's perfect for us on long road trips up to Maine. The restaurant has a beautiful view of a large pond with flowers and trees all around. The breakfast buffet is fantastic!!
The location was perfect for us. Our stay was Wednesday and Thursday nights. The staff was friendly and we chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. It was clean and convenient in that there was a nice restaurant and lounge right in the hotel. We found out that the main restaurant wasn't open Wednesday night, but the lounge had a bar menu that was okay. Chris, the bartender was great!!! He made perfect martinis, was friendly, and impressively knowledgeable on many subjects. We enjoyed talking with him and the sausage and peppers sandwich was very tasty. The view from the back of the hotel was beautiful. Friends of ours met us for dinner at the hotel (we had two little pugs with us). The service was fine and the food fairly good. The salmon was a bit over done and my pasta as well. I would suggest to order the salmon but ask for it to be moist. Pasta is pasta. Order something else or ask for al dente. But the chicken Parmesan itself was very good. We would go back.
Staff and facility were above average, really nice people and well furnished and maintained rooms/facilities. The town surrounding the hotel is still suffering the economic down turn of 2008 as far as I can see. The hotel has a dining room with a terrific view out large windows. The dining room closed before we checked in at 6:00 p.m. and ther was no explanation nor suggestion where we could get dinner.
Went to the Poconos to drop off a child to Summer camp. The hotel was close by a major road and very convenient. It is set back so it was very quiet. Dog friendly which is very helpful. Clean and nice pool. Also helps to have a restaurant and lounge in the building. Breakfast was included with was a plus. Would recommend it and would stay there again.
Not being well maintained and little improvement during the past year noted. Room ceiling and wall had a water stain. Bathtub missing soap dish. Room air conditioning ran all night and room stayed very damp. Outlet on lamp did not work so my cell phone was not charged overnight. Gave us the wrong room initially without a king bed. Hallways and elevator very warm. Hallway carpet stretched and dated. Painting of wall above check in desk is poorly done.
Pool, breakfast & views are a 10. Smell to hotel especially room and bathroom is musty. Bathroom is extremely small & needs updating. The shower curtain had not been changed as it was yellowish on the bottom.
Gotta say, there are many good qualities to this hotel and we enjoyed a terrific stay. It is pet-friendly with no additional costs to bring our dog. Everyone at the hotel was friendly especially Corie at the front desk. Breakfast is included with your stay and it is great. Real scrambled eggs, country potatoes with bacon and sausage patties for meats. Good biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit salad (melon, pineapple, grapes, berries), an oatmeal bar and make your own waffles. Served with real plates and silverware, with waitresses bringing coffee. Not like anything you've experienced at the serve yourself, sit at a dirty table, mess hall meals served for free everywhere else. The pool has been refreshed and it is in great shape. The grounds of the hotel are huge and has an acre-size pond in the back with plenty of grass and running room for the pooch. There is a Kmart and shopping center next to the property but there is also a Walmart farther down. We bought two light fishing poles and tackle and had a blast catching bluegill and bass in the pond. This is kiddie fishing at it's best; small, 4-6 inch fish, reeling in a catch almost every cast close to shore. The rooms are clean with a microwave sitting on a counter that used to be a vanity/sink with a fridge underneath. The bathroom is adequate but dated. A request for additional towels and sheets was fulfilled within minutes. The carpet was frayed at the entryway and there was no mattress pad were my only complaints. Just remember, you're at the Best Western, not the Ritz Carlton. I can imagine that this property used to be a Holiday Inn with a full-service restaurant, bar and handled many weddings, meetings, small conventions and more. It has a big patio with tables and chairs and the lobby furniture has new leather seating with a TV. Other reviews had mentioned renovations but my discussion with the front desk indicated only a few other minor upgrades will be forthcoming. In any case, this is a wonderful place to bring the family for a break, sleep overnight while passing through, bunk your workers or anything else. Clean, comfortable, with a top notch meal.
Best Western Inn in Matamoras, Pa was a Great rest stop on our geo-caching trip. They Welcomed our pets to stay with us, and fed us well before we continued on our adventure, thanks! We Will be back again, probably stay longer and swim, too.
A disappointing stay at a place we had enjoyed before. The restaurant was no longer opened. There was no outlet to connect my Cpap machine. When I moved the night stand to connect to an outlet the floor was covered with dirty tissues and candy wrappers. The room was not clean. The young lady at the desk was very professional and the waitress at breakfast was very nice. This hotel needs a complete renovation.
This appears to be an older motel but it was in very good condition and served a very good breakfast in an excellent environment. The restaurant was closed for some unknown reason but the young lady in the bar who acted as a waitress did an outstanding job by herself in a busy place.
Needs cleaning and refurbishing. Rooms had poor lighting, drawers stuck, burn marks on furniture, torn lamp shades and beds that should have been replaced a long time ago.Overall a dirty and dingy place. Cigarette butts all over the outdoors despite signs saying no smoking anywhere on the premises.
Hotel really needs some attention to detail - frayed carpet, damaged paint on walls, some gardening out front. But it was clean and the front desk manager was very helpful. The breakfast was good. The beds were hard.
Nice immaculate comfortable room. It was a pet friendly room and I was traveling with two dogs. Breakfast which was included was the finest I ever had at a hotel. The price was a little more than I expected.
We had a great experience. Everyone was polite and went out of their way to provide good service. A burned out light bulb turned into the best customer service experience I have had in a long time. We were able to relax and there were enough shops and restaurants in the area to make it an enjoyable stay. We will plan to go back again.
Bus loads of tourists check in. The pool is closed for repairs; the dining room is not usable after the tour buses leave, so you have to eat in the bar. The menu is limited and overpriced. Staff at the front desk looks very annoyed. The "stocked pond" is a joke. The fish are 2-3 inches
Having stayed here many times over the years, I hate to see this property continue to degrade. I had to walk around ice buckets and garbage cans in the floor catching roof leaks. This hotel is old, dark, and worn. The staff is always super and it is a shame that they have to represent a property which the owners/operators refuse to spend a dime to upgrade and repair it.
We were happy to find this hotel after a long day's drive. The staff were very welcoming and it's in a pretty location overlooking a pond. There was no problem accommodating our dog. The breakfast is included, but they were unable to cater for my wife who is celiac (i.e. has to be gluten-free).
A wonderful hotel, such a pleasant surprise. With a breakfast in a restaurant as it should be. With a friendly and attentive staff both in the restaurant and at the front desk. We had originally planned to drive further up the road, so glad we didn't.
Very nice quality hotel. Food, staff , room were all great. Down the road a couple miles is a great restaurant called The Grill. Superb classic nachos and yummy hamburgers...including a huge 1 pounder!
Good location near Delaware Water Gap National Park. Nice breakfast and clean, quiet comfortable room. Helpful staff. Only suggestion is to upgrade lamps to accommodate plug in devices from bed. TV channel choices is a little limited.
The hotel could use an update. The bed I slept in was made in 1999. Not very comfortable. But the place is clean and I had dogs with me and there is plenty of grass for walking them to do their business.
Stayed twice within last week. Desk staff very friendly & especially Barbara in the dining room. She remember us and served us well. Requested a room on the top floor away from noise as husband a light sleeper and it was very quiet room - so much appreciated. Only comment is I wish the breakfast hours were later than 9:00 am - traveling/vacationing would like to have slept in till at least 9.
Trying to book this stay through Orbitz, things got screwed up. Ashley, working the front desk, was super helpful in getting the reservation corrected and even found a better rate for us. Traveling with a pet, we don't have many options. While this isn't the best looking hotel ( decor is a bit dark and outdated) they are helpful and well located.
This hotel is very nice, though the price we paid for one night at $179.00, I thought was a but pricey. I expected a lot more from the hotel and room, but it was just a basic, standard hotel room. it was very nice, but not for the price. The Mountain view room I booked, had a nice view, a bit of an obstructed view from a tree, but we could see the High Point NJ Monument from our window and the view was nicer than a highway view. The buffet breakfast was just your standard eggs, sausage, toast, cereal etc. Nothing to fancy, but basic enough to eat something and leave. The pool was very nice and very clean, towels were available. Water temperature was nice, little cool and a little warm at the same time, so for me it was perfect. The area around the hotel was a good location, driving into Milford was only about 10minutes away and Port Jervis NY was very close by too. Kmart and Walmart are also next door or a light down, respectively. Was convenient for me as I needed another memory card and batteries for my camera. Getting to highway 6 and 209 were also easy from the hotel and getting to Delaware Water Gap also easy and not a far drive either. I would stay at this hotel again, but for a lower nightly rate. I do recommend it. Staff were all very friendly. FYI bring your own area brochures and ideas on where to go, as apparently Best Western policy is no brochure stands in the hotel, which is a shame, because most people rely on them for area ideas. Thankfully front desk staff were helpful.
This hotel needed work. There was mold on the ceiling of the 3rd floor, washing and drying machine were not only bad at their job, but way too expensive. The rooms AC continually turned off, making for a warm stay. The TV was distorted, couldnt even enjoy TV! The breakfast was gone and never refilled. I got there at 9AM. Hot water didnt work either. Dont stay.
After 11 hours of driving, we wanted to settle in, connect with family and friends. We wanted have a bite to eat and a glass of beer to unwind from the drive. We were late to get to the restaurant as it closes at 8 pm. We had to drive elsewhere to eat and this section of town is dry. A bit frustrating. The room was clean but dark colours and a smell that left me with the feeling that there may be an underlying problem and it was camouflaged with another odour. The hallway was dated and smelly. Could not make breakfast as the restaurant does not open until 7 am on wk.ends. Overall an expensive hotel for what you get.
We were arriving late in the day. They were very accommodating and very helpful. The room was more than adequate for a one night stay. Would have been good if you were staying with a group of people. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very appealing.
Loved my stay at Best Western, kind and caring staff, comfy rooms even the pillows were the best, great food, and beautiful surroundings. Would stay there again next time in the area. The staff were fantastic. Even something as simple as mashed potatoes were amazing, I want the recipe. Try them if you stay there just to see how wonderful the food is.
Everything from check-in to check-out was fantastic. Front desk staff were very professional and accommodating. There is one staff member that I would like to mention. Her name is Barbara B. She works in the hotel restaurant. She saved us on the morning of Saturday, May 20. The restaurant's weekend opening hour is 7am. My 13 year old daughter had to be on the softball field at 7am and we were rushing to get her there and wanted her to have breakfast before her long day in the tournament. I ran down to the restaurant at 6:25am in the hopes that they had something made to go and that is when we met Barbara. She asked me if she can help me and I told her of my situation. She said, "not to worry, she needs her protein". She had them make my daughter eggs and bacon and she personally made my daughter a waffle and she was apologizing to me because she had to pour the syrup in a small bowl. This all before they were suppose to even open. You can't even buy this service anywhere. There was no financial gain for the restaurant, because it's complimentary. We will never forget the hospitality that she showed us. Truly an amazing woman. We hope that Best Western recognizes Barbara B. We travel alot for softball and this visit makes us want to choose Best Western whenever we travel in the hopes that there is someone like Barbara B. present when we arrive. Thank you Barbara for making our stay a memorable one, Mike B.
Upon arrival we advised the staff of our service dog. Immediately we were told "no pets allowed." We reiterated he is a service dog. We were still refused a reservation and advised to try the Hampton Inn. We drove across the parking lot to the Hampton Inn where we were pleasantly greeted as they apologized and said all service dogs are allowed under the ADA. We were tired from traveling, and were so grateful to have been welcomed into the Hampton Inn! Very disappointed in the Best Western and look forward to staying at Hampton Inn in the future! The Staff at this Hotel needs awareness and education on Service Dogs!
Time and time again the staff and management of this hotel perform at their best. Rooms are clean. Micro wave and refrigerator in each room . Free full breakfast each morning. Large size indoor Olympic pool. Very friendly staff. Large fishing lake behind the hotel which they own and loaded with 2 -4 lb bass. Bring your own fishing rods. Walmart, Kmart near by. Lots of fast restaurants to walk to. Then go to into Milford town to check out their museums. President Lincoln's American flag that draped his sitting box at Ford theater with Lincoln's blood on it from the gun shot when he was killed. There are also many little old fashion shops of all kinds in this village. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Oh yes the most important thing I must mention about this hotel. ITS DOG FRIENDLY.
Worst stay as there was no hot water in this room. Told plumber was in room at some point during the day but when tub faucet was turned on black soot came pouring out. Ran water for halfr and hour and NO HOT WATER. Why would this Best Western put anyone in this room when they knew there was a problem?
This is the 3rd year that our family had Mother's Day at this location. There was over 30 of us this year but other years there was over 40 of us in our family party. We had a private room and service was outstanding. The buffet was good and even the kids had a hearty appetite so that says something. The pork was outstanding and everything was well laid out and delicious. The desserts were wonderful although next time I will have to save a little more room to try more. This is a great place for a family gathering. Being the entire family came together honor our mother who is 91, several of us drove over 3 hours yet the drive through town was very nice.
I reserved a room for a friends 40th surprise party. A lot of the reviews I read were people expecting Hilton quality at a Best Western. The room and bed were very comfortable and everything was clean. The bathroom was a bit dated but I've stayed in others that were even more dated so that didn't bother me. What did bother me was the strand of hair in the shower that was definitely not my hair. I got it down the drain so it became a non issue and some people just loose hair so it didn't phase me really. I wish I remembered the name of the receptionist who checked me in. I want to say Danielle but I can be wrong. She was the nicest most pleasant person that I've dealt with in hospitality in a very long time. She called as I got to the room to make sure everything was okay and to my liking...who does that ? Thumbs up to this Best Western, if I find myself ever in need of another hotel room in that area I will not have to think twice about stay at Best Western again.
The most beautiful, elegant, interior. A nature lovers walk through the grounds. Exceptional dining room, superb breakfast. Friendly, professional staff. Totally dedicated to making your stay memorable. A must visit! We always stay at Hunt's Landing when we head south for the winter and on our return trip.
Spent the night and was pleased with everything. Room was clean and it was very quiet. No outside noises Since we were tired, we decided to eat at their restuarant. Had a very nice meal. Breakfast the next day was excellent and served in a nice dining room with ample seating for everyone. Nice views of the pond. Would stay here again.
We stayed in April, 2017 immediately after the departure of a large group traveling together. Unfortunately, this situation caused a major problem in the kitchen, and the bar and restaurant menu was extremely limited as a result. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is an indoor pool, but I believe the website says there is a hot tub/spa, and this was not the case. The saunas have been removed. They need to put up a new sign rather than slapping electrical tape over the word "sauna". The staff is helpful and polite. I will stay there again when in the area, but I hope it is not after the departure of a large group of people with very specific dietary needs. This made the restaurant situation less than optimal for the rest of the guests.
We are a singing group that rehearsed and performed in Dingman's Ferry for the weekend. The only complaints I have are in regards to food service. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I would definitely sleep here again but would eat elsewhere.
Needed to break up a long driving trip, and stayed in this motel. Comfortable, and a good place to stay with my dog because of the nice back field. It was nice and quiet, and clean. My only complaint is that the internet service was on and off - so not great.
We have been staying at this hotel on our way home from winters in the west for the past several years and found it to meet our expectations of a Best Western Inn. However, this year we had a room where the outlets on the lamp on the computer desk were not working properly, the chair for the desk was not a desk chair so it was difficult to use my computer, there was no hot water and the restaurant has several limited chices on a printout from a computer and over priced. We did not see many staff but the one good point was that we were given a credit for lack of hot water.
After a long day of travel, the staff needs to be more caring of any inconvieance a guest is experiencing. Problems happen the staff needs to explain what is wrong and make an effort to correct the problem.
Needed hotel stay while traveling 1,455 mi. Chose this as it was on our way, right off the highway. It provided safe parking spcae for our boat/trailer. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant which make it convenient. It also had a swimming pool and exercise area. A plentiful breakfast was provided. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and large rooms. The only negative is that it is old and the rooms are dark and dreary and need freshening up.
I always stay at Best Western Hotels if ;possible because most are pet friendly. and well maintained.I only stay at hotels which I can drive up to the door our room. The meals are always exceptional and the free Breakfasts are great.lThank you.
Good points: Clean room/hotel, helpful staff, close to dining, stores, reasonable price.. Bad Points: Insufficient lighting in the room (husband says could have more TV channels), it would be nice if they had a charging station at the nightstand. What they don't tell you: That if you leave before their free breakfast, they'll give you a bag containing a water bottle, granola bar, and fruit per guest). All in all, I'd stay there again.
Last year stayed at Scottish Inn which got high ratings but is more of a truck stop. Best western was perfect for overnight stay. Breakfast was good. Hotel has a pool so good for kids. Huge Walmart nearby.
beautiful area, hotel has good "bones," somethings in disrepair, food is mediocre, bathrooms and HVAC need an upgrade, room configuration for our use was perfect - king bed plus a large open space, not nearly enough light in the room even with all the lights turned on, not enough electrical outlets accessable
Very nice area to stop over. Accommodations were super as well as the service and the convenience of having a restaurant in the facility was wonderful. Once you settled in your room you didn't have to go anywhere for dining, etc. I will definitely stay here again and refer this Best Western highly.
I would like to post pictures that were taken of the room. It is simple house keeping that would improve the rooms. I will always travel with disinfected wipes in the future to wipe things off. I should have just left the hotel, but you are tried and want to get off the road and you deal with these hotels and dirt. I stayed at other Best Western's and did not have the house keeping problem at them. Clean your rooms.
Before staying at the BW Hunts Landing, I was told by an acquaintance, who had already stayed at this hotel, that this place was a "dump." After staying there, I would not use that strong a term to describe the hotel, but it does need a makeover from its '70s heritage. The decor hearkened back to that era, which may have been a good thing, since I was there for a 40th high school reunion (Class of '76). The room was comfortable and the view from our window was fabulous because we looked out over the pond and the Kittatinny Mountains were aglow with the color of changing leaves. I must admit that the saving grace for this hotel is the physical location on the banks of the Delaware and at the foothills of the Kittatinny looking up at the High Point monument. The carpeting in the hallways really needs to be replaced as it has stretched over the years and has humps in the middle of the hallways, which could present a tripping hazard to those with mobility issues. The check in process was problematic because I made two reservations: one with a group for Saturday night and one on the internet for Friday night. I made the reservation on the on the internet due to it being cheaper than the rate quoted directly by Hunts Landing. This seemed to confuse the front desk staff and they made me feel guilty for making a reservation over the internet. I believe they stated something like "Well, that's what you get for making the reservation over the Internet." I have done this numerous times with other hotel chains and they have no problems combining reservations. The issue was that I was going to be assigned to two different rooms over the weekend and I would need to check out of the room I had for Friday night and check into a different room on Saturday night. When the front desk clerk finally gave up on trying to put me in one room for the entire weekend, she stated that I should check with the night auditor, who would be in at 10:30 p.m. and was very good at making these types of changes. Luckily, I was at the bar until 11 p.m., so I met up with the night auditor, who was very efficient, and took care of the problem. The breakfast served was very basic, however, it did have hot food (scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, etc.). However, the breakfast service was lackluster and I had to ask for more coffee more than once and at one point just got it myself. I also had to ask the breakfast staff for bowls for the cereal, etc. Overall, this hotel that will serve your basic Maslow needs. Had I not been here for a high school reunion, I would have searched out other accommodations nearby. There seems to be some nice hotels/B&Bs in Milford (about 6 miles away).
the room was a little better. We had stayed at the hotel for one night as we were visiting friends in the area and didn't feel like driving the four hours back to Baltimore, Maryland. Although the front desk clerk was in the middle of having a cigarette outside when we first approached the counter, she immediately came in and apologized for keeping us waiting (we were only waiting for a minute or two). We found her to be pleasant and professional. The price was was very reasonable for two double beds and the added benefit was the complimentary hot breakfast that was provided. We found the room to be clean and offered a wonderful view of the fall foliage from our large window. The beds were comfortable but I found the bedding to be somewhat of a lower quality as well as the pillows. The TV was mediocre for a flat screen and I was disapointed to find that it didn't offer a guide button on the remote so we see what was on. A nice plus was the microwave and mini fridge. My biggest disapointment however was the shower. While I showered, the water kept on rising (I had the drain opened). When I got out I pushed it up and waited and down and waited. It just wouldn't drain (see pictures). As far as the the property, the restaurant is beautiful and offers very nice views. Although we just ate cold cereal, the hot breakfast looked amazing (bacon, eggs, waffles, hot oatmeal, all kinds of cereals and pastries). This was all complimentary and part of your stay. The also have a nice bar/lounge for cocktails. The pool looked very basic, nothing to write home about. All in all a decent stopover stay. Wouldn't make a long vacation out of it.
We have stayed at other hotels in this area and this is defiantly the best in the area. Its nothing to special but it is better than surrounding hotels. Rooms were fairly clean. Even after telling staff multiple times there was 4 of us in the room everyday they would only leave 2 towels. Ice machines only on floors one and three we were on floor five so wasn't convenient. Overall not to bad we would stay again.
The fitness center was very poor. Only 2 pieces of equipment and one did not work; the room was extremely hot and their was no air conditioning. Very disappointed. The breakfast buffet was great -a lot of different food items. Overall the hotel is very dated with its dark decor and furnishings.
We stayed here for a wedding we attended. The hotel is conveniently located off Rt 84 and is close to anything you might need. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathroom was clean as well. The room had a refrigerator, and coffee maker but no safe. Note, the restaurant at the hotel does not open for lunch. The free breakfast served was very good.
Breakfast was excellent. Couldn't get any premier channels on TV. Issue was addressed and never resolved. Only had few basic channels unless I wanted to pay for movies. The fitness center was closed and I was never notified. It was one of the perks before I made reservation. However, I definitely would recommend it. It was very clean and staff were very nice.
I have stayed at this hotel at least 10 times over the last 20 years. It is a perfectly located rest stop for my business trips between western Pennsylvania and New England. The setting is pleasant, the rooms are comfortable, the staff is helpful and the parking lot is excellent for my truck and trailer. I only wish I had more time on my trips to enjoy the many nearby attractions (parks and recreation) in this region.
Found this hotel off of I 84 and was quite pleased. We do love to staying at BW. There was a restaurant on the property which made it so easy, as we had driven all day and wanted to veg. We thought the way that breakfast was handled was very pleasant, we were seated by a waitress brought our coffee and tea even though it was a buffet. Usually we have to push our way to find a seat and the food. We will stay here again.
Ok hotel. The check in was good. The girl at my the front desk was helpful. A little loud to hear cause of a party right next to it but ok. Had to pay $10 extra for the included breakfast in the morning cause only 2 come with the room. 10 and under free. Not worth the $10. Charged an extra $3 for a coke at breakfast. Room was ok I think it was just redone except for the jacuzzi tub. It worked but not really strong jets. It was good enough for an overnight stay although a little pricey.
My wife and I stayed here on a recent motorcycle trip. Overall, our experience was very positive. The hotel and grounds are very nice and the guest rooms are clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. There is a restaurant on-site but I don't think there are any others within reasonable walking distance. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant and it was average at best. The complimentary breakfast is also served at that restaurant and the quality and selection of breakfast items was the best I have experiences at a BW.
Title sums it up. The best Best Western I/we've stayed at in the US. Some describing words: Spotless overall from rooms to grounds, great value, Professional and Courteous staff, great location easy to find and get to, great breakfast, fantastic pool. A stay here will raise the bar for all future hotels and motels to meet.
I was at the hotel for a weekend conference. The facility was large enough to accommodate our group. The staff was extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was close to the highway. The area is close to NY and NJ.
We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. The rooms are always comfortable and the only reason for the stays are to accommodate our 12 pound dog. We really appreciate hotels that accommodate pets. The pet fee is a little steep for such a small dog. Maybe on a sliding scale. The hotel I stayed at the next night did not have a pet fee and was 1/2 the price....
This was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is clean, very pretty, well situated off the highway with easy on/off access. We really enjoyed the lounge. Six beers on tap and good food. Breakfast was very nice. The dining room is large and well lit and besides the usual continental breakfast fare you can get eggs cooked any way you like them. The staff is very nice. Would definitely stay here again.
At the time of reservation I was quoted a rate of $109.00 per night. Checked my credit card and they had placed funds on hold on my credit card for $189.00 per night. If I had not checked my card I would have been over charged. Every one at the from the front desk wanted to pass the buck and blame some one else.
this hotel is easily reached from rt I 84 in eastern PA. it is attractive and clean and has the expected amenities. I had problems with food served in the bar and was sick and vomiting all night from the food.
We were driving through from Maine to Virginia and trying to located a place recommended maybe 5 years ago on a journey to Rhode Island. We finally chose this place after speaking to a delightful front desk clerk on the phone. As we checked in feelings of deja vu swept over us and as we entered our room we were certain this was the place. Not much has changed in the last five years and as other reviewers have pointed out some of the place could use an upgrade. The hallway carpet is showing signs of wear and the decor is looking dated. Our room was clean, the staff was friendly and the free breakfast was good. Even though it looked like the single woman on duty could have used some help our service was good.
We have stayed here years ago and remembered the grounds being a good place to relax and they still are pleasant. The rooms are clean and updated. Food offered in the restaurant is good. Breakfast is much better than your average offering in most chain motels.
We have stayed here many times in the past 11 years and have taken advantage of the facilities many times prior to moving to Myrtle Beach. It is an ez-off and ez-on location off of I-84. The amenities include an indoor pool, restaurant and bar/lounge. Numerous weddings have been held here because of the lovely views. The breakfast, that is included in your stay, is served buffet-style in the restaurant allowing you a relaxing start to your day while seeing those views.
This is an older property but clean and well-maintained; some renovation is overdue. We frequently travel to Maine from Virginia and this spot conveniently breaks our trip into two days. The restaurant is fine--food's ok on a rather short menu and the service is very friendly. The waitress overheard me enthusing about blueberry pie and gave me a free slice! Also convenient to the very pretty little town of Milford PA, worth a walk-around in the evening. If you have time there is a pleasant drive available through the Delaware River National Park.
The rooms were large and clean and well furnished. We had large group of 52 on our Diamond Tour bus. The tour leader decided that we would eat at the hotel rather going our for fast food, We went at 6:00 p.m. we were at a table for four. Another group of eleven sat together, There was only one waitress! A bartender then came over to help, the tour leader came in and decided to take all the rest of our group back on the bus to another place, We had already ordered so we couldn't leave. The hotel should have been ready for large group!!
You are considered a valuable guest from the moment you check-in, and enjoy an excellent free breakfast with friendly wait staff in a beautiful dining room, or walk the paved trails on the beautiful grounds of this resort-on-a-budget. Cannot wait to visit again.
I have stayed at this hotel several times and find it to be very convenient, the staff are very helpful and the amenities are very good. They have recently added a swimming pool, which, unfortunately, was out of use when I stayed this time. I really enjoy their generous, complimentary breakfasts and the staff in the dining room are extremely friendly.
Loved my large clean room (201) which had the essentials such as a television, coffeemaker, microwave, refrigerator, iron and alarm clock. The Free breakfast was delicious and the wait staff was very professional and courteous. On the other hand, the housekeeper that was assigned to our room seemed to be allergic to work. The second day the bed was made sloppy and the bathroom lacked cleanliness with towels on the floor and on the tub. The toiletries on the sink was not straighted and the iron was left in front of the microwave. The third day, the housekeeper knocked on the door and asked if we needed anything. I said we needed clean towels which you did not provide the day before. The housekeeper had to retrieve fresh towels from down the hall because she had none in the cart. She came back to the room to the bathroom and emptied the wastebasket and then stayed in the bathroom for nearly 6minutes. The next thing I know, she was waving goodbye without making the beds. I got up and looked in the bathroom and noticed the housekeeper did not clean inside or on top of the sink. The clean towels she provided was plopped on top of the sink instead of hanging on the towel rack.I have visited this hotel for 5 years. Never had this unprofessional behavior from a housekeeper. I hope the management will resolved this issue. ALSO Management really need to renovate the fitness room.
Not a bad stay, could be better if they upgraded the facilities to a more modern level. Excellent staff, very helpful, courteous and professional. Food quality was okay. Clean rooms and overall cleanliness was acceptable.
We stayed at this hotel. This is the second time we have stayed here but found it to be a little pricey for the age of the hotel. Everyone was nice and the room was comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant and the meal was good and the waitress was nice. I might try the hotel beside it next time. I know that its close to the pocono area and that is probably why the price is a little more.
Went out on a limb and went with brands I don't normally book with because when doing searches it told me this was basically all there was if I wanted a chain. Turned out there is a brand new Fairfield right smack in front of it that I would have booked had I known it was there, ...at any rate, Heres the lowdown. The entire place is so rundown and dingy its a sad sad place. In the description it said there was a microwave and fridge, there was only a fridge. We had the most unbelievable neighbors for the evening, 3 rooms surrounding us and slamming doors until 2 am, and as early as 8. I stopped for sleep. I got none. There was very few cars in the lot for the night, it was a weeknight, it was empty. I know nothing about the booking of a hotel but I assure you, 3/4 of the hotel was empty, they surely could have been in rooms with a small buffer away from me. The bathrooms are tiny, the air doesn't cool down enough, the carpeting in the hallways will make your stomach turn. I can go on for another 4 paragraphs with reasons why you shouldn't blow the incredible amount of money they have the gall to charge for a night but I won't, i will just say, grab a clean nights sleep in the same lot at the other brand! You can thank me later.
Room was fine. The restaurants complimentary breakfast just OK. The room rate a bit pricier than I like and they didn't have any kind of deals available at the time we checked in.. Didn't use the pool. Didn't go to the lounge.
Hotel front desk.. Super friendly.. Rooms were clean but had a slightly musty smell but not too bad. The breakfast was ok once you got served.. There are alot of restaurants nearby which made it nice. Good hotel for the money.. The atmosphere of the hotel very nice... Nice pool, very small exercise room.
We just spent the past Saturday Night here. Ashley at the front desk was very nice and did a fine job checking us in. Our room was very clean, I really don't care that the furniture was older. TV was big, picture crisp and clear. Bathroom tiny, couldnt have more than 1 person in at a time. Shower was great! Bed was incredibly comfortable. Wasn't a fan of the breakfast. Went down around 9:30 and wasn't much left. I toasted some white bread. Cereal was stale. I'd rather sleep in than be first in line for the food! Yup, I'd stay here again!
The Best Western staff was extremely kind and caring. The bartenders were great, Also the breakfast was better than most hotels. However the rooms needed cleaned better. If you look behind the night stand there is an inch of dust along the walls. The decor is dated and needs improvement.
This hotel accepts dogs and despite that the rooms are cleaned well and the hotel is reasonably priced. It is indeed a bit dated furnishing wise and breakfast can enjoy slightly more variety, but overall the stay was very pleasant.
We have been going to this hotel for 30 years, but haven't been there in the past 4 years or so....NEVER AGAIN. Nothing about the stay was acceptable. The dinner was horrible, hoping for a better breakfast and if possible it was worse. The pool room was so hot we couldn't breathe and the smell of chlorine was too much. The gift shop is gone :( The hotel is in need of a facelift or closing.... Next time we'll go to Hampton Inn which is right in front of Best Western - its got to be better !
I've stayed at this hotel 4 times now and each year it keeps getting worse. In serious need of updates, the mattresses were stained and old, very uncomfortable and the toilet wouldn't flush unless you held the handle. The high speed internet did not work most of the time.
I have stayed at this same location many times now over many years. Check-ins can be slow as the front desk is often understaffed and busy. The included breakfast is good. Very easy on and off for I84.
I would not recommend this hotel. It is in desperate need of updating and remodeling. The service was good and the food in the restaurant was good but that is all I can say that I was satisfied with.If I were to stay in the area again I would look for another hotel.
This is my 3rd stay at this hotel and it mainly keeps getting better and better. The breakfast is the best of any of the other chains and the rooms are getting cleaner every visit. I would stay here again for sure.
We were extremely disappointed with the King Whirlpool room we booked for over $200 with it's chipping whirlpool, very noisy air conditioner and poor lighting along with a very "small" room in general. The only good thing was we were able to use a outside faucet to wash our bike covered with mud from the wet roads with no problem... for that we are thankful. But, I must say this looks like a hotel that is on the outs as far as Best Western Brand is concerned. So long Hunts Landing!
Beds are mostly double and need to be upgraded. No bathroom exhaust fan. Breakfast is much better at Holiday Inn Express. Rooms are damp and so are your clothes. No longer have the seafood buffet which stopped about 4 months ago. Pool area very warm and chlorine smell excessive. Did not have room serviced one day beacuse we came back for an hour in the afternoon and they nevr circled back to do it plus told front desk that it was services. Cost is excessive for below par rooms. Staff were friendly, but often single string to solve problems such as only one at front desk or bar or seating guests in retaurant.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn right next door, 2 weeks ago. We needed to return to the area for on night. The Hampton Inn was sold out Got a room at BW. Overpriced for a room with 2 beds. This property needs a facelift. Outdated decor. and furnishings
staff is excellent, food is good(nice to have a restaurant and bar inside motel) , room is clean and comfortable. easy access from I84 or route 6/209. easy check in/check out.plenty of parking, pet friendly
Booked through Harley Davidson Rewards. Staff was very accommodating and made sure we had a place to park our motorcycles out of the weather, always a plus at Best Western. Always greeted by the desk staff both in the morning and night. Restaurant and Lounge staff were great as well.
We stayed here because it was right off the freeway and midpoint in our trip to New York. The rooms were average, clean, but dated furniture. Breakfast buffet (included) was standard fare though they did have a mini-waffle maker which would be great for kids. Front desk staff were friendly, efficient. Close to K-Mart and Dollar Tree and a few dining options within walking distance.
Having stayed at this location in past years, it is so nice to see that it has consistantly stayed as a premium and wonderful stay. The staff, Michele, Ashley, Michelle, and Trish in the resteraunt are amazing folks, who go out of their way to make folks feel welcome. They put the "Best" into Best Western. The rooms are squeaky clean, the facilities are well kept and maintained, the breakfast is awesome and these things keep us coming back when we can. In our list of "go to" places, this is one. Nice place to relax, and enjoy life. Great atmosphere and the superb staff make it so wonderful. We would highly reccomend it to others. Don't change a thing folks, keep up the good thing you have going.
We chose this hotel because we had our dog along. Amenities are a bit worn and service was variable, but it met our needs. Breakfast was typical and dining staff were professional, but a number of items had run out. Very convenient off the interstate.
I have visited this hotel three times in the last year. It is my fall back hotel to tell the truth. They offer a free breakfast which is nice, but it needs to be cleaner. The rooms aren't as super clean as a Hilton or Hampton Inn, but there has been improvement over the year. It is a good value for the money. It us what one would expect for a two and a half star hotel.
Overall bad experience due to all the furnishings and finishes are old. Plumbing and systems all problem. Internet service substandard. Staff is very good. I would not stay here until the place is renovated and fixed up.
Staff was nice, facility is old and the Tv was terrible. Poor picture quality and had to pay for stations, even children programming. Musty smell. All the people were nice. Stay at Myers Motel much better price and facility is outstanding! Not worth the money. Breakfast was fair, service was good. Business center was ok. Health club a joke, no space one treadmill, bike and some free weights but no room or ventilation to breath.
This hotel was right off of the main road. It was dog friendly and we brought out yellow lab. It was clean and did not smell bad. The indoor pool was out of order when we arrived but was fixed that same day. The grounds are spacious and the first floor was convenient for our dog to get outside to walk. Only complaint was that the beds were too small. Uncomfortable for 2 adults to share a bed. Would go there again.
We usually stay at Hunts Landing on our way from Florida to Connecticut as in the morning we only hve a 3 hr drive to our desination. And we always feel welcome there. Like the service and the fact that no one bothers us. Complete privacy .
Nice safe location, but I can see over the years age has set in. I can see renovations but hotel is showing it's wear and tear. Ceilings in room and bathroom needs updating along with furniture and bedding. Sorry, but you'll need to spend some big bucks to get the hotel where it needs to be to have happy guests otherwise your neighbor the Hampton Inn will be taking over.
I always stay at this hotel while travelling between the US and Canada and have always found it to be reliable, efficient and a very pleasant place to stay. The staff, particularly in the bar and restaurant are always extremely helpful and look after their guests very well. I will continue to stay at this hotel every time I travel in the area.
This hotel was bad: the was bed uncomfortable and the sheets didn't fit. The bottom sheet wouldn't stay on the mattress, exposing the old, worn, lumpy mattress. The swimming pool was out of order, and the hotel did nothing ahead of time to advise us so we didn't waste time bringing our swim suits. The fitness room was boiling hot and not conducive to working out. Breakfast service ended at 9a on Sunday, apparently to accommodate three parties that were being held at the hotel that weekend (but why penalize the other hotel guests?). The breakfast was bad quality (powdered eggs, watered down organic juice, dirty cutlery). There is a big outdoor patio area the could been used for optional outdoor dining, but it wasn't.
My husband and I stop here often as we travel on this route, and our first visit was in the early 70's. It has maintained is gracious service, cleanliness, and even, with updates, it's modern and well-kept facility. The Inn sets back from the highway enough to offer a nice backyard view of lawns and mountains and also to get away from road noise. Ask for a room facing the backside if you can get it. The Inn overnight price gives a free hot breakfast that is very good, and they offer discount coupons for an evening meal if you wish to dine in their very nice restaurant (closes at 9 p.m.) They also have a nice gift shop but it opens late and we leave before that and closes early and we arrive later than that - sob. Window shows nice things. Only negative, and not a serious one, is that the bathroom we had is so tiny, it is hard to work around in it and really won't handle more than one at that. Everything else you might need is here, however.
This hotel has a beautiful view of the mountains. A pond and gazebo are a wedding venue. Bar food was good and the service was fast and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The interior could use some updating. East off on from Rte 84. Plenty of shopping and food choices near by.
At First I though this hotel was over priced but they had a great breakfast, restaurant and great attitude in their staff. The Rooms were clean and they put a discount on my bill when the hot water did not work. I was very happy.
It's a good place to stay for the price, clean, and the staff / service was great. Hotel just needs a modern facelift. Compared to other Best Westerns I've stayed in this one is just so old and dated. Dinner at the "lounge" looked depressing. Find a local spot instead. Breakfast was as expected. But the dining room is also depressing.
The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great and the staff very pleasant and helpful. The room was near the ice machine but there was no noise. I like that they sent emails ahead to alert me to the weather and local things to do.
Hotel staff was pleasant and courteous. Bed was comfortable but decor was a bit outdated. Breakfast was adequate and plentiful. Good coffee. Also, nice to be able to take fruit, yogurt and coffee for the road.
We stayed at this site before and enjoyed our stay again. We always enjoy stopping here to eat at Perkin's. Our stay was quiet and uneventful which we love. Thank you. The views are quiet breathtaking across the highway.
In early December each year, I have been meeting a childhood friend at Hunt's Landing to exchange Christmas gifts, to catch up on each other's lives, to exchange "girl talk" and to luxuriate in their Seafood Buffet in their onsite Edgewater Restaurant. First, the hotel itself has a cheerful and accommodating wait staff, there is a large gift shoppe filled with goodies and even necessities in case you forgot to pack something, elevators, some rooms have a view of the Delaware River. As for the Buffet, the lobsters, so I am told, are fresh from Maine, and they do taste that way, there are a variety of other seafood treats, carving station, soups, salads, and anything else you might be in a seafood state of mind. Their dessert table is also excellent with a variety of goodies..........IF you have stomach room after the buffet entrees. This will be our 11th year celebrating Christmas and friendship at Hunt's Landing, already planning on a 12th.
One of the nicest Best Western Hotels I have stayed in - beautiful grounds an restaurant. Convenient to the Interstate but not noisy. Easy in and out. Nice selection at breakfast. Large dining area instead of the small breakfast nooks found in many motels.
Nice quite place. The fitness room advertises a sauna, it don't work and looks like it could use a makeover. Great parking for Handicap and motorcycles, Easy access to local shopping. Wait staff is outstanding.
The hotel overall was fine, but for what I paid for 2 nights seemed high considering my experience. We stayed in a double bed room that said "mountain-view" but half the view was of a back building roof - so why pay extra? The front desk the entire time was indifferent - neither friendly nor rude - just average. Room was clean and fairly quiet, though the bathroom had a outdated sink and shower, and bad ventilation - the AC unit in the room was really loud. Also the breakfast buffet was a disaster, almost none of the food you usually get at this chain or similar ones was available. I realize it was a busy weekend but this should have been planned for - at least the staff in the dining area was nice though. I wouldn't normally be so picky, but for a Best Western - this location needs to step up. I would look elsewhere in the area if there are options, this place was average overall.
This Best Western lived up to the high standards we have come to expect from Best Westerns. Their restaurant had a classy menu, nice places to sit, and big windows with nice views of their pleasant landscaping. The price for our stay was very reasonable.
We are unable to travel east too often. BUT, when in the Milford,Matamoras area this is our place to stay. Clean, comfortable and great staff. Plus the view of the pond area is so very relaxing. AND, Barbara, the hostess for the breakfast buffet is so warm, competent and professional, she is a true asset to this facility.
great hotel but I have stayed there several times before and they had good bar food available for late, after 8:00, arrivals. My choice this time was only cheese pizza. My advice: stop and get something to eat before you check in. Otherwise a very good hotel.
Suggest not going into Bar, Restaurant or Restrooms. Hotel needs a lot of attention and upgrades. Glassware was dirty, bathrooms were not maintained and restaurant floor was tacky and sticky. Lobby was very outdated.
The Staff was very Friendly & helpful. The Restaurant Staff & Food was excellent. Joe The Bar Tender was very friendly & was very knowledgeable on mixing drinks. If you stay here go see Joe. The room are clean but need updating,Water pressure is OK,but could be better. The Carpets in Hall need to be replaced, had lots of ripples in them. We had a nice stay & would come back.
This Best Western is situated amid a large pretty property that is great to walk your dog after a long trip. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. I was off before the breakfast, but I would definitely stay here again. The bed was super comfortable, bathroom nicely appointed.
Ashley was great at check in and even called up to my room to make sure everything was good to go. The room was clean with two beds. I only needed one but both beds were super comfortable. Room was fairly spacious with a chair to relax in. The only compliant I have is the tv. All the news channels for some reason were snowy and had lines through them. Internet was strong and worked very well. Breakfast was in the restaurant. It was okay. Fairly basic; waffles, sausages, eggs, potatoes, cereal, pastries, yogurt, juice, etc. I always have a hard time with the breakfast due to my dietary needs, but that is not the hotels fault. The bill is send via email super early in the morning. It looked like you could hike in the back or at least have a nice walk along the pond. It was nice seeing the birds. They have a bird feeder right outside the restaurant and it was nice to watch them as you ate breakfast.
Absolutely great breakfast! Room was good. Check internet for best rates which vary considerably from in-person check-in rates. Location is lovely with meadow pond view in the rear. Breakfast was a truly exceptional experience.
This facility is dated, but the sign in the lobby says that they are undergoing a renovation. My room was very Thai tea, but could use an overall facelift. I had a first-floor room as I was traveling with a dog, The view out the window was of the lake, very nice. The hotel staff was very friendly. Upon checking in I had problems with the door to my room, Ashley from the front desk came down and mediately and took care of the situation. The hotel has a restaurant, but at the time of my visit it was really just a bar where you could get food to take back to your room, no room service. The bed was clean and comfortable. It was very nice to be able to find a decent hotel while traveling with my dog. In need of updating but for the price and dog friendly accommodations I would stay here again.
Good motel with great view and very quiet. . Breakfast is outstanding with orders taken and served hot . Clean rooms with wi-fi . Local restaurants close by. Personnel friendly and neat. Seems to be a great facility for a business meeting with a lot of amenities,
Online the Best Western Inn at Hunt's Landing sounds like a semi exclusive place, better than one would expect from a Best Western. It was not. It is dark, depressing and old. The jacuzzi didn't work, there was water damage on the ceiling and walls, and the bedding was poor and in need of replacement. The best thing about the place is the staff.
One person at reception, one waitress in the restaurant, waiting 15 minutes or more to do or get anything. I came here for the restaurant and the pool, because after a day of driving, I want to relax without getting in my car again. The staff did their best, the food was good, the pool was nice, but more staff are needed.
We arrived very late night and were relieved to find a clean welcoming room. The rooms were good size and the full breakfast the next morning was perfect - because we arrived so late at night it was a pleasant surprise to see the nice view out the window in the morning. The only thing that got me was the beds - SO SMALL - I know I should have noticed when I reserved, but you just don't expect to see the tiny beds outside of the big cities where the room size is at such a premium. Sheets and pillows were nice crisp/ clean,
We have been coming here for over 20 years and what once was a great seafood buffet had been going down hill for many years though the price kept rising...clams on the half shell and lobster bisque went away and the desert area shrunk...now there are no more crab legs and you are limited to 2 lobsters they bring out when they want to while you are eating other buffet food .. so one or the other will be cold before you can eat it...the lobster newburgh has imitation lobster which is very obvious...yet the waitress says its real ..lol..the customers are almost non existent now and many simply leave when they find out the changes..I understand the price of seafood goes up... so raise the price or limit customers to maybe 4 lobsters and leave the crab legs... without these things the buffet is simply not worth it , a few chicken dishes a few pasta dishes... etc ... the tiny little neck clams were very salty and rubbery..the food is mediocre at best ...even most of the good waitresses have left since the food and policies have changed... The waitress we had ,admitted to us that what was once a thriving seafood buffet with many customers has now become very slow and customers that have still eaten have complained and are now leaving terrible tips.....these people will I'm sure no longer recommend this place.. we were given a gift certificate for the buffet and overnight stay that I do not even want to use.. . I felt bad for the staff as they will most likely have to look for new jobs...
This hotel is along our travel route twice a year, between Nova Scotia and South Carolina. We could not ask for a better place for a one-night stayover. It has everything we could ask for - a nice restaurant with great food plus the other amenities that the Best Westerns are known for.
The room was very clean. We spent a comfortable night and enjoyed the complementary breakfast. We travel with a Persian cat and he too settled right in - perching next to the window, watching ducks on the pond. We've stopped at this location several times over the years and have always been satisfied.
Peaceful place to spend the night with a restaurant on site. Good food, comfortable beds, friendly staff - who could ask for more. We especially enjoyed the restaurant the night we spent here. The chef was trying a new menu and we selected one of the new dishes which was delicious. It consisted of udon noodles with vegetables and a choice of different meat/fish as an add-in. Regarding the room, that was fine. I had a problem desk chair that was almost immediately replaced with a working chair. when I reported it to the desk.
This is a very spacious facility with anything you might want including a store. They have a spacious dining room with daily specials so one does not have to travel to have dinner. In the morning, the day that we were there, they had a fresh, hot breakfast buffet with anything you could desire. It is a very elegant establishment. Our handicap room was indeed very accessible, spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately the battery went in our fire alarm during the night, very confusing, but that happens. Earlier I had taken a warm wonderful shower, my clothes were on the floor, when I saw a centipede scurry beneath them. I feel it was an isolated incident, they seem to maintain the establishment very well. I am typically very satisfied with Best Western Hotels
We have stayed here often while traveling to the Mid Atlantic area. It is comfortable, clean, and friendly. We like the convenience of the restaurant and bar as well as a good warm breakfast. Only one person at front desk and in the bar can make for some waits when things get busy. Staff stay friendly and helpful. I feel bad when they have to apologize for the wait.
I was too tired to drive on. Had a very pleasant night but was disappointed with the breakfast choices. The faucet in the bathroom was way too loose but generally it was fine. It was easy to get too and had good parking provision. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions during my frequent trips to Montréal from Maryland. As always, I was very pleased with the service and friendliness of the staff. The gift shop is well worth a visit and is under the management of a charming lady called Julianna who is always willing to give advice about not only the content of the store but about various places to visit in the surrounding area.
Good spot for rest and full service. Easy access to RT 84, Matamoras, PA. Used coupon from PA state rest stop. Enabled us to have a double queen bed rm, a $25 voucher for dinner and 2 beakfasts for $119.00. Gas station nearby for quick fill up.
Had Seafood Buffet at Inn at Hunts Landing. Been going here for 30 years. No longer all you can eat lobster and price is now $66.00 per person. (with 2 lobsters)No crab legs. Mac and lobster is actually imitation crab meat. Steamers are tiny and in garlic and full of sand. 2 of the lobsters were replaced when we found the tails were like mashed potatoes. Total of 11 guests between 5:15 and 7:00 PM should tell the story for Good Friday and people looking to not eat meat. Not worth the trip or price.
There are no real budget options in the area (my preferred chains), and there is even less choice when traveling with a pet. Though expensive (roughly 80% more than we typically pay for a night's stay), the room is clean, the bed comfortable, the breakfast decent, and the staff accommodating and friendly.
This is our second time staying at this hotel on our way to Myrtle Beach. Very clean, quiet and comfortable bed, especially after driving 15 hrs. We plan to stay there again on the way back. Renovations have been done since our last visit in 2014. We would highly recommend it!
We frequently have a problem finding nice hotels which allow pets. This one is one of our favorites. The rooms are very nice, clean and updated, and dogs are allowed. In addition they have a very nice area to walk the dog, behind the hotel. The open area is at least 5 acres and has walking paths for the humans.I believe the pet charge is about $20, which is lower than a lot of places. The breakfast is also VERY good and the staff is great!
Staff was very friendly. We stayed there this past Sat. because of convenience to where we needed to be for a family medical reason, but have stayed there before for happier reasons. Room was clean, bed was a bit firm for my taste, but even thought there had been a wedding there, the room was quiet. Little stingy on the personal products, though. Nice lounge.
I stayed at the hotel for Valentine's Day weekend. The staff at the front desk were ok and helpful in helping me surprise my husband. Room wasn't anything spectacular but the view was amazing. Room could definitely use updating as well as the pool area. When I first arrived there were kids running around the hotel like crazy and I found out later that the hotel offers birthday pool parties to the public. I was really looking forward to using the pool however kids were everywhere until way after dinner. If you plan to stay on a Friday or Saturday be sure to make a reservation for the lobster buffet (hotel front desk staff didn't tell me I needed one, dining staff was great in squeezing us in). Our server Jenn at dinner made my experience great. Just because of her I would go back. She not only was our server at dinner but breakfast too. She made the entire "hotel" experience worth it! The bar could use some updating and more room. When we first got to the bar there was no table or room at the bar. Later we found out that one of the bar staff was sitting at a table of 4 by himself while people were standing waiting for a place to sit. Also, the bar closes at 12, which was a little early especially being a holiday and the bar was packed. I would definitely return one it gets warmer to see the amazing views. I will say, make sure you have your stay planned, not much to do in the area!!
We were travelling back from Treasure Island, Florida. This was our first stay at a hotel off Interstate 84. This turned out to be an excellent choice in terms of a great evening and a restfull night after a very, very long day on the road. Overall, we had a most pleasant experience and we would definitely consider staying at this establishment in the future.
Clean hotel, could be more updates heating, but had a restful night. Breakfast was great, nice assortment of foods!Sausage, bacon, eggs fruit and "make your own" waffles....delicious! I would like to have these options every morning!
Stayed over NYE with our six month old Cane Corso. Very clean, no pet smell, plenty of space to walk your dog. Friendly staff. The lobster buffet was amazing but I was a little put off by multiple customers using their fingers to pick up food and not the utensils provided. Front desk staff friendly, overall a great experience, we will be back.
A beautiful location with views, easy on/off the highway, a pool, restaurant and bar on-site, and other restaurants and gas stations right in the area. (And until the Hampton Inn was built, this was pretty much the only place in the area to stay.) All the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant. Food was good and arrived quickly. Room was clean, Wi-Fi was available with no problem. The facility itself is definitely in need of upgrades and repairs - if that were done, this place would be a gem.
1.On arrival no one was at front desk. Several weary travelers and I had to wait to check in. 2. Room (306) plumbing: bathroom sink needs unclogging. Takes too long to drain. 3. Room heater way too loud for restful sleep. 4. We used Boardroom for training the week of 12/14-18. Our training was interrupted as some loud mouth guy with a high pitched voice was screaming in the hallway as he walked by several times. I noticed your pool is back in service: I've been coming to Matamoras for 23 years. I enjoyed the Best Western when it was new. Slowly over the years I've seen it decline. I gave up coming when the pool was closed. Its taken to long to get the pool back. I've been staying at the Hampton. I can see you are making improvements but its been too long coming.
If you love lobster, this is the place. All you can eat and more. The staff was wonderful, and very helpful. I always plan my next trip with Best Western in mind, wherever I travel. Next is Universal Studios, Fl. The hotel is right at the gate. Love it! Mary H.
The management staff in this hotel are totally inept. There were no mattress covers on beds. Tub drain broken Room phone inoperable Was not given room I booked (in advance) Will not ever stay here again
Not easy to find the entrance on your first try...there aren't a lot of hotel choices in this area, but my experience was mixed. The servers in the restaurant were the best part of our stay. Room was just okay, but while packing to go I suddenly realized aspects or the room that weren't particularly clean. Front desk person at checkout extremely rude. The back property is scenic.
The service was Excellent, and the food, especially the breakfast was great combo of hot and cold items. The Pool with hot tub was just what I needed. The service was excellent and the food, especially the breakfast was a great combo of hot and cold items. The pool with hot tub was just what I needed.
The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful. It is very pet friendly and offers lots of space to walk your dog. However, when I booked my room I asked specifically for a room with a king bed and sofa bed. I was told this was available. When I arrived I was told that I had to take a room with 2 double beds instead. The front desk person could not explain why. We were extremely disappointed.
The location, service and price were competitive but this hotel needs some attention. During my brief (one-night) stay there was a distinct unpleasant odor coming from the dining/banquet area; something like fish and/or lobster but it just hit you right when you entered the lobby. The service was very good and the room was clean and comfortable however the carpeting in certain spots was raised and the elevators had many scuffs and a missing electrical box on one. The lighting could have been more inviting and brighter as well and the bath/shower had a somewhat musty/mildew-like smell to it when the water ran, which I think came from the linen shower curtain. In it's current state the hotel is an option if you're in need of accommodations but with a much newer hotel directly in front of it (won't give the name) it's a no brainer on which to stay at if you have the choice.
This Best Western is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of all the noise. I really enjoy staying here when I'm in the area. The rooms are always clean and smelling fresh. I didn't use the exercise or business centre rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't eat the breakfast that was included with the room rate. Not because it wasn't any good, but because I love the breakfast at Perkin's which was less than a half mile from the hotel.
Nice location and views of near by mountains. Has on site pool restaurant bar and gift shop. But you can tell it way over due for an update. Smells of smoke in the halls and room. Even though it is non smoking you can tell that years ago it was smoked in. Staff is friendly, breakfast was just ok. Saunas were not operationally usable. So you might want to look elsewhere.
I stayed therw with my wife while visiting Raymond Falls. It was a good place to spend the night. Nice walk in the backyard but a lot of bugs. Rooms were fine but the pool was closed in the May. Breakfast was decent
Nice place. Easy on and off highway. No problems with room or staff. Breakfast comes with the room. Depending on the time of year, they have a buffet which includes hot items or a cold buffet with hot items ordered from a menu. Would recommend staying if in the area.
This hotel was very good and the location was fine. It was a bit pricey for the time of year . Overall the stay was fine . Breakfast could be improved with a little more variety. The only issue was the lighting was not that good and the T.V.could be improved.
Outside is run-down, food service is slow and not good (except the all-you -can-eat-lobster night), rooms are clean but small, many amenities are closed for renovation. The hotel has great potential and could become more of a "spa" destination, but it needs some serious upgrading.
Very pretty location. Rooms were nice. Try to get a room facing the countryside not the parking lot. Hotel has to work on mold issues in the bathroom and cleanliness of towels. My co-workers and I also had problems making reservations since no one answered the phone. If they did answer, they took your number to call you back. My co-worker did not get a return phone call. I called back later in the day.
Tub would not drain, and maintenance dept showed me where the stopper was broken ( we would need to manually drain the tub), black mold was on the caulking in one area of the tub ( housekeeping did come up and scrubbed 90% off), wi-fi internet only worked briefly, late on Friday night in my room and then would not work at all, unless I went into the main lobby of the hotel. Spoke with Cory who was very nice and gave me a discount on the room rate, but I still could have gotten the same room accommodations cheaper in Port Jervis for less. Cory said she would need to "bump off" some of the residents who "live" there for longer stays, but this did not happen and I was trying to do work for work in the lobby with people milling about and TV on all the time. People were very nice, but cleanliness and working plumbing etc., is #1 for most guests. There was also a larger burned area on the armrest of the couch chair in my room. Most of the carpeted areas are dark and dirty in the main lobby....
The staff at this hotel - every single employee that I encountered during my three days and nights - was pleasant and helpful. The facilities are well maintained, neat and clean. Restaurant food was excellent and the view from the dining room was unbelievable. The exterior and grounds are also well-maintained. Overall a great place to stay.
My stay at the Best Western in Matamoras was enjoyable overall. The in-house Restaurant was excellent and staff were very attentive. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area for a one night or extended stay.
Just came back from another nice weekend getaway in Pennsylvania and stayed at the Best Western as usual. We have stayed here many many times over the years and it has always been nice. The staff, especially Ashley is always pleasant and friendly. This was the first time that we stayed on the first floor and we had an amazing view of the pond and mountains. Breakfast is included and is a buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, toast, juice, fruit, make your own waffles, coffee, pretty much anything you want. The rooms are nice, but could use some updating with the decor and the bathroom, but it is clean and that's the most important thing. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again ??
Great place to stay. Clean rooms, great staff, shopping and other eating places close by. The food was very good at the hotel and I was very pleased with free wifi.. Liked the area I was in. Employees were very friendly and accommodating.
Gorgeous setting, but this place needs some tweaking and polishing., especially when it comes to the food. This is an older resort, and it needs a bit of spit and polish. They need to rewrite the advertisements and their coupons. If they are not going to offer little things like rolls with their meals, then take them off the menu. If the breakfast is now a buffet, do not say it is a cooked to order breakfast. If someone gets raw chicken, even if it is not the entire meal that is raw, come out and apologize. Raw is yucky. October is not the time for blowing air conditioning in the dining room. If your patrons say it is cold, do not have your waitresses laugh and say they do not notice it. Turn it off! Geez! Fried chicken should have a crisp skin, not a limp skin. These are basic things. The customer may not be the cook, but these things, we know, even as non-cooks. The rooms are older, but I actually got a decent shower and a decent night's sleep. And when the fog lifted, I found that I was in a beautiful area. A quick bit of advice for all you savvy travelers. Look carefully at the coupons at the state rest areas. The difference in coupon books can be as much as $20 for the identical night and the identical room. And if you are on a budget, as I always am, 20 bucks is a lot of gas money. This place would have fared better if the fine print was on point. The front desk definitely boosted them up several notches...way to go ladies, both coming and going!
The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The menu in the restaurant was poor, in that every entree or its side had garlic. Not everyone can eat items seasoned in that manner. Also the lighting in the room was not sufficient for reading.
Old hotel. Some improvements being made. But our stay this time was not pleasant. Really terrible bed. Noisy. Paper thin walls. Good breakfast but not worth the money we paid. Wedding party was staying at the hotel. Other hotels in the are were booked so we were stuck going here.
We picked this motel because we were traveling with two cats, and not all pet-friendly hotels take cats. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Very small amount of damage on an ottoman is to be expected in a pet room. Hopefully, mattresses could be replaced in the future, as they were just a little unsupportive. These are very small complaints, and one should not disqualify this hotel on them. The property is beautiful. If you get a room facing the rear of the hotel, you look out onto a lake, gazebo, and mountains. A special shout out to Amanda (I think that was her name) and the chef on duty in the restaurant. My husband and I rarely eat in hotel restaurants; here is a wonderful exception to our rule. We ordered chili in a bread bowl (daily special). It was really good, delicious! I would definitely stay here again, and I would be glad to eat in the hotel restaurant. A very good value for the price paid.
Comfortable, clean and affordable room with a pleasant view of a mountain overlooking a pond. Complimentary buffet breakfast is hearty. The staff if very friendly and helpful. They're pet friendly, and have both pool and gym. AAA saved us about $20. There was a slight musty smell that went away when we ran the AC.
The service was very good. They got another room for us away from a terrible screaming fight in the room next to ours. I will always not make sure the room we have doesn't have an access door to next room. Too noisy. Also, I was looking forward to watching DWTS and their Direct TV could not access ABC. Disappointing.
There was a bad smell throughout the hotel which made everyone at our business meeting feel sick!!!! The hotel staff did not offer any means of compensation to rectify the situation!!!! There was a Gun Show the same weekend of our meeting which made me feel very uncomfortable!!!!
One of the nicest places we stayed on our recent trip. Convenient location. The property is well maintained. The room was large and very clean. Internet is excellent. Room rate includes a full breakfast. We stay there every time we're in the area-usually once per year. This is defintely a great place to stay.
This was the last night of our New England vacation. We had not made reservations because we didn't know how far we could travel. We first stopped at the Hampton Inn but it was too expensive and we weren't rewards members. Our GPS system didn't take us all the way to the Best Western. Improve your signage and your business will increase. The restaurant was especially appreciated. Good food, great service!
We needed a pet friendly hotel and this filled the bill. Good staff, outstanding breakfast and easy access to the highway. A good value. Our waitress for breakfast was delightful. Our dog loved her stay as well.
