"Beautiful place...with service missing"

We just spent 1 night at Leprince Hotel. We were really waiting for this night out, 1st from beginning of the year. At arrival, you realize the hotel is fresh renovated and building is looking like really new. We have been really impressed by the quality of the realization as from outside as inside. The internal stairs are just gorgeous (They should work on the lighting to empower the impact of the stairs lightly hidden behind a windows door. They should also review their welcome desk which is definitely too small and where people are gathered. This point will be a nightmare in during the rush hour. Regarding to the room, we have been lucky to get the 213 (Chambre Executive), with a wonderful sun lightening from the windows at entrance. The room is big enough for a couple for a night, well decorated (we appreciated the black ambiance) and really comfortable. Regarding to the service, this our only deception…and from the arrival to leaving. Due to the lack of space at the check-in desk, we have been able to listen all information from the previous client who was leaving (including her personal address…), but the most disappointing is the fact that the employee (which seems to be the director) don't even wait to finish with the previous client and he starts our check-in by loudly asking our name. Honestly, when you don't have the space required and no possibility to keep information confidential…just wait and do it one by one. Another negative point, is during our checkout, when the employee told us we should pay for 2 breakfast even if only one of us take it since he asked us the day before for it…but the day before he asked us if we would take the breakfast and only my wife said yes (I never take breakfast). By the way, the breakfast charged 15€ is miserably for this price (adding some pics), you will go the same (even better) for less on an IBIS hotel. We understand times are complicated due to COVID crisis but frankly is too expensive for what they serve. Anyway, this hotel is really beautiful, the price of the room is matching the quality of the room and it was a good stop in Le Mans but the service is definitely too poor regarding to the place. Let's hope they will improve it with experience…
