Comfortable hotel with good restaurant and good location to nearby amenities and work location. Chose this hotel because a coworker recommended it and we were carpooling. Will likely stay here in the future for trips to visit our GP facility.
Excellent hotel in the Grande Praire area. Easy access to the surrounding area that is close to some great restaurants and entertainment venues. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast provides an excellent choice of food and beverages
Always my preferred hotel when in GP. Consistent service. Always greeted. Staff alway try to get me on the top floor.
service is good, I extended my stay couple times, got the help from front desk. Room is clean, and food is good in restaurant. The location is not preferred, but still ok.
I found the bed was very uncomfortable for me atleast and the pillows were also uncomfortable when I turned the fan on in the bathroom it was screaming sounding like it was going to come out of the ceiling thinking it's due to be replaced. The breakfast wasn't great but it was free. Not at all like a restaurant style breakfast
Quiet, clean, spacious, pet friendly, continental breakfast room had windows that provided the view, friendly staff who were mindful of my needs.
Hotel is very clean, staff is friendly and easy to access. However I would not recommend this hotel. The bar in the parking lot on weekends is extremely loud, takes up all prime parking for guests and if it's busy the staff are extremely unprepared for heavy traffic in the breakfast room. We had an our team stay there and 3 mornings in a row there was no plates, no forks and no juice cups. Let alone barely could keep food in the containers. The team booked ahead so the hotel had plenty of time to prepare however they did not as there were two teams there. The breakfast room lady was running off her butt to keep people happy without help. Pretty expensive stay for what you got. Breakfast items are good and decent options. Bacon, sausage, eggs and even real ones cooked over easy some mornings, waffles with strawberries and hash browns. But again, if you're facing the parking lot…. Bring ear plugs!!!
NO HOT TUB..Website clearly shows a hot tub and you know it's this hotel as there's a Kal Tire across the street, can you say false advertising. The staff, room, cleanliness and breakfast all good but no hot tub!!
Boyfriend and I had a good sleep but I always choose Best Western whenever I go its just simply amazing! I would always recommend Best Western to family and friends a bit pricey for me but its all worth it.
The staff were friendly, hotel is in a great location - there's a restaurant in the hotel and also across the parking lot that you can walk to. My coworker told me their breakfast was awesome (I skipped breakfast).
We booked a suite online via a visa debit, after a 5 1/2 hour drive to the city of Grande Prairie we were looking forward to relaxing after a long day at a event. We called the front desk around 2:00pm to ensure we would still be able to check in later that evening. Arrived at the desk at 10:20pm when asked to pay we used the card that we reserved the room on, declined. We asked what the problem was, they only take credit card. No problem, this is a big chain I'm sure they can make an exception in this case. Add a larger deposit, or whatever they need. The answer was no, there is nothing they can do. I asked why, the answer “we had something happen last week” I looked at my kids half asleep in the lobby chairs and then at my wife. We informed the desk clerk we would be leaving. If you don't take visa debit, then don't allow it to be used for the online booking. What a shame.
Great Staff, quick check in. Lots of construction around the hotel. Needed to make a detour every day during this stay. Hotel is always clean. Lots of Oil patch working stay here. Sometime hard to find a good parking spot.
This hotel provided a great experience - clean, comfortable, relaxing. Toiliteries were exceptional, linens were wonderful, and above all the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and have actually already booked my stay in GP in August.
Nice, clean, quiet accommodation. Location is a good, easy to find. Staff is friendly. Breakfast staff is friendly and food is good. They do have a dry sauna but a hot bubbly sauna would be wonderful. Thank you.
The pool was wonderful and the space between each step into the pool was perfect as my right leg has lost a lot of strength and when the stairs are spaced too far apart apart I cannot get in or out of the pool so this pool was amazing for me. The breakfast room with all the windows with natural light was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows. The front desk employees are also very friendly and approachable. This hotel in Grande Prairie is now my go to hotel from now on.
Well maintained. Heater/ Air conditioner units are quieter than an other hotel that I have stayed at. Rooms are quiet. Showers have excellent pressure. Breakfast is the best full meal deal anywhere. Staff are polite and friendly.
Hotel was easy to get to. Staff were very pleasant. Rooms were clean and nice looking. Breakfast provided was good with a decent selection. Attached Italian resteraunt was awsome and had some really good daily specials.
I usually stay at best western's, but would not recommend this one. Noisy, dated, and just not very nice. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Rooms are not very sound proof. Couldn't get jacuzzi tub to work.
I had a pleasant stay at the Best Western. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning!!! The pool was nice and clean. There is a small but nice pool and hot tub with great views. It might not be a dream pool for kids but I'm sure adults would enjoy the hot tub after a long day.
Very nice staff , best breakest in town with real bacon and eggs, shower can remove paint and is awesome. Price is getting a little high for staying in Grande Praire but its hard to find a better place in town.
Rooms are smaller than other Best Westerns I have stayed at and you can tell it hasn't been updated for a while. I felt the rooms were over priced. Breakfast was low grade compared to other hotels complementary breakfasts and the coffee wasn't particularly good.
Clean, great value, and within walking distance of: walking trails, off leash dog park, quilt store, and independent coffee shop. Reasonable seniors rates. Good restaurant (independent but attached to hotel). Pub nearby.
The best western in Grande Prairie has best hotel hot breakfast I've ever experienced in all of my twenty years of hotels stays. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They made my two stay that much better.
Staff is always very great! Location and property is perfect for me. I have stayed here in the past and will certainly stay in the future. There are lots of places to choose from in the area but this is my first choice.
Check out the value of the quality stay at this location. I had stayed in quite a few motels before & the quality of this hotel is definitely worth attention if you are looking for an enjoyable stay. Quiet room, AC, jacuzzi, excellent service, a great pub next door... just try it
Pigeon poop on the window of my room is unsightly, and probably not healthy. Apart from that, my stay was pretty standard. I'm only filling out this review because my guest survey requested I do so. But the bird poop thing is pretty gross.
Stayed here for a work conference and the property and the staff were great. The location worked well for getting around Grande Prairie as well as gettig out for lunch and dinners with clients. The fitness center is a little small with lots of equipment jammed in.
Very rude staff, over charged for the room. Location has 0 parking as there's a bar in the same lot. We had to park at another business. Room was dirty, and had mold. Would not recommend staying here.
This hotel is clean and quiet. It has a good breakfast and a nice pool. It is a great room rate and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits the area. The staff is very helpful, accommodating and friendly. A great place overall.
I had trouble booking in and couldn't use my points at the hotel or the 1-800 booking centre. When calling the hotel directly my rate changed within the hour and increased from $118 to $134. I drove 3 hrs to the hotel and checked in just after 3:30pm. All good at check in. When up to my room urinated and flushed the toilet and to my surprize the toilet overflowed toilet water all over the bathroom floor. I called the front desk and they said someone would be up soon to clean that up. I left my room to continue on with my business in Grand Prairie to return between five and 6 o'clock p.m. to find that the toilet had been "unplugged"?? but the bathroom floor was still a mess of toilet paper and toilet water and the towels that I threw down to catch the water. I called the front desk and to my surprise he did not seem concerned and just replied housekeeping has left for the day. He then said he would be up in five minutes to clean up the mess. When he came up he picked up the wet towels with his bare hands and placed them in a bag while wiping the floor. He seemed to think he was done. I had to mention that that was toilet water all over the floor that needed to be cleaned up with a cleaner and there was still the odd bit of toilet paper that had dried to the floor. He went and got some cleaner then sprayed it on the floor still all in his bare hands and picked up some of the toilet paper dried to the floor with his bare hands. He mentioned that this happens quite frequently when the plumbing system has been overused by a full hotel. And they were in the planning stages of changing the pipes. The internet was slow and lagged. The room was on the 4th floor right beside the roof fans........very noise
I showed up without a reservation because I thought it might not be the busiest tourist time of year, and also as part of my faith project. I asked for a room on the parking lot side of the building on the top floor to enjoy the beautiful scenic view. I received a gift bag containing two bottles of water and two cookies which was perfect and awesome!!!
Hotel is excellent, Check in was easy. Rooms are clean and the staff is great.however if you are given a room facing the Lions Den Pub you will experience noice from the patrons in the parking lot at night.
The price is not bad im surprise hotel is clean and smell good at all.mostly price range like that the hotel is bad. I feel safe as well because they have security at all and event midnight staff is wale up to help you what you need.
easy access to hotel from main roads. ample parking and room for a trailer if needed. there is a great breakfast selection that starts @ 5:30 am. the rooms are clean and very Comfortable leading to a great sleep!
Location is clean but tired looking. Be sure to bring all plug ins for charging electronics as no USB ports are available in the rooms and no plugs are available to borrow or rent. Conveniently located to hospital for family with sick family. Breakfast was very good
I travle alot for my job and this is one of my favorite hotels to stay at. Great restaurant in the hotel and a awesome pub in the same parking lot. The only downside it that there is no hot tub in the pool area.
Staff were very polite and got us checked in quickly. Room was clean. Good central location but very little traffic noise. Lots of parking area, Room rate was a good price and checkout was quick. Receipt was detailed showing all cost for your stay.
While the location was handy, a bit of noise issue from the main road out front, forcing me to turn the fan on to mask the sound. Very enjoyable Italian restaurant for dinner. The first BW in awhile to actually acknowledge status and provide a couple of extra bottles of water. Was surprised to see this one of the last few hotels that make you book a gym time solely which resulted in no work out this trip
I wasn't eligible to use the pool, fitness center or restaurant. Because I wasn't welcome to sit in the restaurant I couldn't use the 25% that I was given at check-in, even though they didn't specify that I also couldn't use it for take-out. I also had to pay the full rate, even though I didn't have access to anything except my room. A hotel rate includes access to amenities, and I was denied access to all. Very disappointing.
This property is a very beautiful and lovely place to stay. The staff are very personable and friendly, the rooms are incredibly warm and inviting; and the beds are always great for a wonderful nights sleep.
The covid-19 breakfast provided by this hotel is better than most, with both hot and cold selections for dine in or take out. I appreciated that the pool was open and staff was accommodating and pleasant. Other guests' noise could be heard from our room, which did wake us earlier than we wanted.
It smells like an old smoked in hotel when you enter the lobby. The old carpet and curtains need to be removed. Our stay was ok, but we were happy to leave and chose to stay elsewhere to complete our trip. Housekeeping staff were friendly.
It was pretty much what is expected of a Best Western. I had a pleasant welcoming for our membership with BW. The tub was deep for soaking and the bed was quite comfortable compared to others and made for a good nights rest!
Really nice hotel and my room was great. It has lots of space and having a separate bedroom was nice. Hotel staff were happy and helpful. Having a full breakfast with many options was definitely a plus!
This hotel needs an upgrade badly. Watch out for the tourism tax on your receipt! This is s suggested tax and is not a lawful tax as they would lead you to believe. Also if you have any questions or concerns once you arrive home and need to call, be ready to listen to loud obnoxious jazz music while you wait on hold for more than 20 min before you hang up due to frustration. I opted for the express check out instead of a printed receipt and 48 hours later I am still waiting, hence the loud obnoxious jazz. Also this Best Western does not honor the Aeroplan points card. I am giving the service button a terrible rating just because of waiting for someone to pick up the phone. This is the first time I have given a hotel an extremely bad rating. When you call it is a 3rd party.
At a stressful time to travel, the booking the concern and no judgement. This trip was a family emergency made easier. the staff was very covid aware with all safety protocal readly avaiable.Always happy to see us . Thank you for using our personal names!
Its a nice average hotel. One would think that it would also come with a nice average price. front desk had good service, good location. complimentary breakfast was not the best but Padrinos restaurant was good. also have a nice bar with good food across the parking lot.
Travel a lot for work and always look for Best Westerns. Always clean comfortable and safe. They do their best to ensure Covid protocols are followed and rooms are safe. Highly recommend this hotel or any Best Western. Never have had a bad stay at one yet.
My wife and I were moving from Anchorage, AK to Colorado. Our trip did not go as anticipated, so we were forced to stop at a few more hotels than we anticipated. We showed up with no reservation, and they found us a pet friendly room. Everything was clean, and went smoothly.
Every time I'm up here for work the Best Western is my first choice of places to stay. The staff on shift are always polite, friendly and courteous. The hotel and the rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable.
Really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Hotel in GP. The beds were extremely comfortable and the showers were amazing. Strong pressure with a wide flow. Would definitely stay here again based on those two things!
I am a Diamond member so have stayed at many BW places but this was the worst by far. I find BW to be very consistent but this one was not even close to expectations. No water at checkin. No do not disturb sign in the room. No cups in the room. No plastic bag in the room for cleaning. Missed my express checkout. It is also very dated and in need of a renovation. On top of all that, it was one of the most expensive stats I've found. Nothing good to say about this place.
I am a Diamond Select member and found it strange that this property did not offer free breakfast and the restaurant was closed for lunch. I did not have transportation, but rather relied on local colleagues. The restaurant (Tony Romas) in the parking lot is closed. Had to order skip the dishes for daytime meals.
We love staying here when we have to come to Grande Prairie. Grande Prairie is a city that is a very far drive but this hotel makes it worth the stay. Bestwestern points are collected, clean rooms, really good breakfast, and quick service.
Like the Keurig coffee machine, nice selection of toiletries. Beds were comfy, slept well, nice and quiet. Enjoyed the infra red sauna pool is very small, no hot tub. Enjoyed the fitness room and breakfast. Overall good service and value for overnight trip.
Very clean hotel, amazing staff. Beds were very comfortable, In a very good location close to shopping centres, and theatre. Nice and clean pool and fitness centre. Would stay here again. Would recommend staying here.
I had the best experience here. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great!! Fully recommend staying here. They have all the facilities to make any stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is close to many restaurants and shopping very well located.
One b lady on front desk . She is busy in room services. People waiting to be checked in. The most expensive rates with the lowest service. Shame on greedy owner cutting staff to make more money. Unheard of in the Best western World. Manager never returns calls for complaints.
Had a chance to visit the Best Western in Grande Prairie. Friendly staff that made me feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent. There is also a sauna in the pool area that was very good. I didn't get a chance to use the fitness area, however it did look adequate.
Had a great stay at this property, very clean and quiet. Staff were helpful and the bed was large and comfy. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also okay, and they offered a 10% off certificate to guests of the hotel.
Appreciated having a nice, independent Italian restaurant attached versus a chain restaurant. Good size portions as well. What was the best was the good selection at the morning free breakfast with real scrambled eggs, not instant eggs!
We arrive around 6:45 PM and we left the next morning. Overall it was noisy except between 1PM-5AM. We were on medical travel, all we need it was rest but that didn't happen even the staff in the morning in the lobby was very noisy. Someone smoke in our bathroom so it smell bad but that was kindly offer to be fix with a room change. On the bright side the breakfast is great and good before a long drive to Yellowknife. The coffee machine in the entrance is also wonderful. THis hotel have it all for a good morning, the only problem is we could sleep due to noise.
I was disturbed a few times through the night with noise coming from adjoining rooms. The staff were very helpful. There was a problem with my room key card and Elmo was very persistent until it worked. The restaurant was good food and the servers were very attentive.
We had a pet friendly room in October 2019 and it was great! The breakfast was also delicious with fresh fruit and a lovely gentleman hosting. We would certainly recommend this hotel and we would stay here again. Great value!!
Excellent once again in Grande Prairie Alberta. Great location in that city, good parking, right next to Tony Roma's. Room was clean, excellent sleep. No noise all night. Will definately be using this as our go-to everytime.
The staff here are friendly, accommodating and truly looking to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. When in GP, I won't stay anywhere else unless the BW is full. I have had multiple stays where issues have arose (on my end, not the hotel's) and the staff have assisted me to fix the problems quickly and as seamlessly as possible.
Great hotel had a great time enjoyed the rooms. Pool was fun and good temperature. Pillows were all soft no firm ones. Couldnt connect my android box to the internet. Positive and negative over all 4 stars good hotel.
Staff were accommodating above and beyond was could have been expected we could not have asked for better service from any hotel. I always staff at this location and have been a guest for more than five years
Fabulous from check in to the lovely gentleman running the breakfast room! We have never had a breakfast this good! And, they have a free cappuccino machine in the lobby! This Best Western is definitely the place to stay in Grand Prairie!
Nothing special at all. Felt a little claustrophobic in the room as they were small. Wasn't too impressed with this best western, decided to relocate for the amount of money they want per night. Breakfast was ok. Restaurant attached was good.
I just spent four days at this wonderful Hotel. I forgot how nice it is here. I love Best Western. Mostly because they accept pets which is very important to me when I travel. They have lots of Green Space the hotel is so well kept and clean. The nicest thing of all is when you come in the front door there is a seating area where there's large screen TV and they have a wonderful Keurig multi coffee maker I haven't drink so much coffee in a long time especially because it makes lattes hot chocolate that kind of thing just my biggest weakness LOL. The stuff is amazing and everyone is friendly the rooms are fantastic and very well kept I highly recommend if you're going to Grande Prairie stay at the Best Western especially if you're travelling with your fur babies.
Excellent experience here, great location, full breakfast included, Wonderful Italian restaurant attached to this location. Met dear friends for a wonderful dinner. Would stay here again for sure. 5 stars from us.
was ok. was not asked about membership. rooms ok, breakfest was good lots of options and lots of seating. resturants at the hotel and given discount. shows rooms on website for hotel but told they dont have them at the hotel.
Top notch hotel staff. It is always nice when checking in and out the the staff knows what is going on and this staff does just that. The room was average. It was clean and quite. The cleaning staff did a great job. Breakfast was really good with a good variety of options, hats off the cooks and staff. I really have no complaints about this hotel and would recommend it to anyone staying in Grande Prairie.
My stay there was excellent. Great staff and service. Having a restaurant and lounge on the premises is a great way to enjoy a beverage without driving. The hotel is on a ring roan so access to all of GP is easy.
I always enjoy my stay at Best Western Hotel no matter the location and time of the year.Quality service with awesome staff that goes above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one and great ambiance. Would recommend highly.
Excellent hotel to stay at. We have stayed here on four separate occasions and we have always found the service, cleanliness and hospitality to be excellent. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy. We highly recommend this property.
Great staff, especially Jil and Jasper on the front desk. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Restaurant is overpriced for the quality of the food and service. The only problem we had was a slow leaking faucet in the kitchen sink and it was fixed immediately
Just a couple of changes since last review 4 years ago. No noise at all very pleasant sleep. Staff and management very friendly and approachable. I no longer review free breakfasts (they do have one) as i have gotten tired of people complaining about something that is FREE
hotel does not have all amenities as advertised, average room, average warm breakfast, over priced decent hotel but there are so many other hotels less pricey that offer what is advertised; look around before you choose
Have stayed here before, hotel is decent, nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. Typical Best Western. Good parking, no breakfast available which is an oddity these days. They offer you a 10% discount for the restaurant.
I flew in super-late, 1am for an event the next morning and it was VERY impressive the way there was a person waiting at arrivals to let us know there is a complimentary shuttle to this hotel. At 1am I usually have to go looking or catch a cab. Room was spacious and very clean. Lots of plugs and good placement (for easy morning ironing). Pool and amenities in good working order. Favourite part was the morning breakfast which they have converted a meeting room for and it's big, comfy and bright. The breakfast is hearty with protein each morning. The coffee is hot and good. The wifi is fast and reliable. I had a great check in at 1am, had called ahead to ensure my room was ready so I could get to sleep and they were prepared, which I appreciated. Checking out, I met the manager as I am a speaker teaching charities and the manager and leader team are big community supporters. Made me proud to stay there and be a Best Western rewards member!
I stayed at this location for a little over two weeks and was treated like an overnight guest each day. My room was tended to daily, unless I requested otherwise. The front desk staff was incredible to deal with, most notably was Elmo, who was extremely friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. He went above and beyond the requirements of his job to ensure my stay was both pleasant and that I was welcomed. The breakfast was always excellent with many options to suit all tastes. I highly recommend this motel to anyone staying in Grande Prairie.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite a bit larger than we had anticipated. It was clean and the bed/pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast had a ton of choices. I would definitely stay at this location again!
We go to Grande Prairie every couple of months and stay over to enjoy a nice dinner out. The location is great for us, quick check in and check out and the beds are comfy. We like the loyalty program that Best Western offers.
I always find the staff to be super friendly and helpful. I was able to book last minute and they made it work for my family. Rooms are always clean and the beds are very comfortable. Pillows are among and I always have a great sleep.
Over the years, we have come to recognize the Best Western brand as representing excellent quality both of service and value. The Grande Prairie location met our expectations in every way. Our stay was made enjoyable by their professional, proficient, personable staff.
The hotel was excellent in all areas. We did find it fairly pricey for the casual traveller. They could offer a multi night discount for guests s staying 2 Or more nights. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices.
We stayed for 4 days to visit family. The room was small with only 1 office chair for sitting on, which had to be replaced as it was broken Knowing that we were there for 4 days, I would have hoped for an upgrade to a bigger room as it was not a busy time. We were not happy with the price that we paid. The breakfast was not great. The ham was always dry and the fried eggs over-cooked. They were adamant that no food be taken out. (Our other hotels on this trip were very generous). The sauna was not working the first day. The view from the very large windows in the pool area was of industrial businesses. Room view was the parking lot.
The hotel is clean and bright and well appointed, The staff were friendly and helpful and check in and out was a breeze. Our room was clean and large. Our only complaint was the overall cost for one night which we found quite high for a Best Western.
Clean quiet rooms. Fast booking in by friendly staff. The breakfast has long hours 05:30 to 11:00 with lots of good food and tables. Restaurants nearby for dinner. Excellent queen beds and shower. Room had a Kurueg, microwave, and fridge. You don't need to be an engineer to run the TV remote, lots of channels.......AND THE LEAFS WON THEIR GAME !! Good location.
I have stayed at this property several times in the past and have always found the staff to be very professional and knowledgeable and this time was no exception. The front desk person who I had the most contact with was a gentleman by the name of Elmo and he provided top level service. The property is also central to the clients that I visit.
The rooms are very nice, beds are comfortable, nice hotel staff, good breakfast, 2 restuarants to choice from 1 attached to the hotel and another one in the same parking lot. I would recommend this place.
Check in was alright after everything was said and done they are like oh yeah our pool is out which was not a huge deal but should have been noted at booking time. The beds were rock hard. The pillows were lumpy. The walls were so thin I could hear a dude taking a poop next door which is nasty. Breakfast was on the second floor which is the weirdest thing I've ever heard of. And at check out I waited for 15 minutes before someone came to help there was people in the back office that stared at us like we were stupid. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and I work in one and I have never seen anything like this ever. Absolutely ruined my trip.
The room was very clean and spacious. Comfortable beds. Very friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was awesome, very good selection of food. Good value for your money. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
I was not impressed with this hotel at all. When we first booked we were told one rate for having our dog there. Then the day before they increased it. When i called the hotel to ask why they said it was there policy but they would honour the original price. When we got to the hotel they increased it again. They were not very helpful at our checkin did not explain paperwork properly. When my family and I were at dinner later the hotel staff called me and was very rude on the phone and accusing me of not wanting to sign paperwork. When we returned to the hotel i then resigned the paperwork and they were still rude. When we tried to check out they told me i couldn't and said they would email me a receipt and they still haven't. They hotel staff was also harassing other parents on the hockey team saying they would call the police. all in all i would never stay it recommend this hotel to anyone again.
I stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are simple but clean. Lots of TV channels which is great. Breakfast is included and is set up every morning in banquet room. Good selection of hot food and cereals. Serve yourself. More than just a continental. Would be nice to have bottled water in the room.
I stopped in as a late night stop, it was 01,30 in the morning, parking was nearly full on a - 30 something night. I ended up parking across the street as I had a 1 ton truck and a 40' trailer attached. Room was good and clean, Breakfast was a hot good breakfast, rates were average for what you would expect in this region
My husband works in grande prairie and I came up with the dogs to spend his birthday with him. We enjoyed the room, all the staff were super friendly & helpful and he got to spend time with the doggies for his birthday.
This was my second time staying there. Staff are friendly and helpful, Hotel is clean and comfortable. I ordered room service from the attached restaurant. The pizza was really good. I will stay here again when I'm praying though.
Very friendly staff who all go out of their way for your stay. Clean updated rooms, conveniently located, very good restaurant, lots of parking and literally one of the best "best western" breakfasts I have had. Decent pool and adequate fitness centre.
Staff was great. Really good buffet breakfast. Rooms were clean the fitness center was really nice I will definitely stay there again when I'm back for work all in all a really good experience and a great location
The Best Western Hotel Chain has always been one of my favourite places to stay when I am working away from home or traveling with my family. This was the first time that I stayed at this hotel when in Grande Prairie. It's easy to find and close to lots of shopping, and restaurants. It's not a brand new place, but that's not always important. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place just needs some updating, and upgrades. The place is clean and comfortable. However while staying these are some of the things I have issues with. When you flush the toilet it makes a lot of loud noise and goes on for a couple minutes, the bath tub would not drain, the cover for the A/C unit fell off in the middle of the night. The alarm clock just sits there and blinks, I couldn't set the time or get it to work correctly. And the pillows were need of replacement, old and flat. Like I said the hotel doesn't have to be brand new to be amazing, just not impressed with all the issues. They have a pool, I didn't try it, they have a great hot breakfast that I did enjoy. For the prices they charge I was just not impressed at all. I work away from home for 15 days at a time, I stay in a lot of hotels, for a city the size of Grande Prairie and the money in this area I except better...
The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the pillows were fantastic! The breakfast had everything including fresh fruit and pancakes and the quality was very good. I would highly recommend this hotel.
I recently switched to Best Western and am very glad that I did. It is in a very handy location. Easy to get to shopping on west end of the city and also easy to get to Prairie Mall and down town. It is also across of Tony Roma's which is pretty good restaurant. I'm not found of the hotel's in house restaurant. However, hotel's complementary breakfast is really impressive. The hotel staff is always friendly and helpful.
Although this location may be slighted dated in decor and some amenities, the staff are amazing! They are friendly, accommodating and willing/wanting to improve your stay any way possible! I had multiple rooms booked and several changes to these booking and Robyn at the front desk was beyond wonderful!
Clean Hospitable and best breakfast ever. Good value for the money. The pool is salt water which I like. Hot tub wasn't working but the rest of the hotel experience more then made up for it. Breakfast was started at 5:30 which was perfect if you have an early morning flight .Lounge area was clean and very comfortable and good access to desktop computers so you don't have to surf in your room and the bathroom had lots of towels.
We stayed at this hotel on Friday September 14th 2018. Myself and two of my boys. Reception and check in was prompt. We stayed in room 107 but I thought the space was a tad too small for two queen beds. The beds were comfortable and clean. That box of breakfast to go was not available and when I requested for it the receptionist on duty said I had to have requested it the previous night. This was strange. Because most Best Westerns do have about 4 bags ready to go in the morning. So you grab and go. But she gave me bottles of water instead. Overall I think the hotel is neat, cozy with warm and friendly receptionists and nicely located.
Our booking could not be found, it took 3 members of staff to finally find it. We were told breakfast was 5:30 but actually it is 6:30 (not great when the shuttle bus left at 6:50) Checked credit card once back in UK & two different payments taken, easy to contact them - no I have to ring a chargeable number.
This hotel consistently orovides very goid service, amenities and comfort. The staff is knowlegeable and helpful, the rooms are ver6 clean, appropriately appointed for both leuisure and business, and the beds ate very comfortable.
The front desk staff was very welcoming and made you feel truly appreciated for staying at the hotel.Location was ideal for access to various shopping and restaurants. Also very close to parks and walking trails.
This fine hotel is located just off of the highway to BC. It has a great Italian restaurant located with it. It is a must if you are staying in Grande Prairie. The rooms are clean and quiet, the beds are comfortable, the amenities are excellent, the parking is convenient. It is a great place. The restaurant is SUPERB. Make sure that you have at least one evening meal in Padrinos. Breakfast in the restaurant is excellent and is included with your overnight stay.
Good location and close to ammenities, has a resaurant in hotel and another in parking lot. Nice pool the kids used. All around good stay at the best western. Its always busy here and Grande Praire is busy place, reserve your spot before coming.
This is an older hotel but is so clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Everyone was very friendly, the pool was a lot of fun and the best part was the breakfast in the morning. It was better than any other breakfast I've ever had for free at a hotel - there were hashbrowns, 2 meat items, pancakes or french toast everyday along with basics like toast, yoghurt and fruit salad. Yum!
The staff was very helpfull and professional. Clean comfortable room and a nice breakfast. The hotel was easy to find and when I phoned to make the reservation the desk clerk gave easy to follow directions to the hotel. I recommend this hotel
The rooms we're fancy, clean and the staff were very accommodating also. The hotel has good parking space, and superb breakfast! The hotel is strategically located that gives easy access to almost everything! No wonder why, the had a lot of guest!
No complaints, staff was friendly, room was clean, plenty of parking. Good location, easy to get to Breakfast service (free) was excellent. Wife does not like mushrooms that were in the eggs, the very nice older gemtleman server got her some fresh scrambled eggs asap! Well done!! We would return.
Had a late check in after a loooong day driving. Booked the hotel on Priceline. The front desk agent was efficient with my check in. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. Couldn't hear noise from the neighbours. Woke up refreshed. The breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold food - including real over-easy eggs... none of the fake scrambled eggs so many hotels serve. This will be my Go-To hotel in GP.
I recently started travelling to GP, and after 3 hotels this will be my "go-to." Very clean, new, great location near parks/paths/playgrounds. Great night sleeps. Staff--AMAZING. Thank you for finding my jacket from 3 weeks ago and tracking me down to return it. I needed a shuttle to the airport at 430am -- no problem! Great hotel, this is my "home away from home!"
Great customer service from hotel staff. We had a toilet seat break and staff right away got after it to get it fixed. Very friendly cleaning staff as well!! Amazing coffee in lobby and rooms. Hottub is broken and that was really to bad!!
First of all, doesn't matter how long it's been since a floor has been deemed non smoking, unless there is a complete reno, you can tell. So what...avoid the 2nd floor if you don't want the smoke. Secondly, the AC in room 201 barely works and still worse, is that the entire room vibrates. I have been on ships where the vibration from a 1500 hp Diesel engine has been less bothersome. Finally, the wifi is poor. If you just need a place to sleep and can put up with noise and heat, this place will meet expectations. For me, never again.
I truly enjoy staying at this Best Western and have for the past 15 years, friendly staff and close to all amenities which keeps me coming back. With Padrinos restaurant right in the hotel and Tony Romas in the same parking lot getting back to the hotel and then going for Dinner was never an inconvenience.
Rooms average (mattress way too soft), breakfast decent, but parking lot unsafe. No trailer parking, even for small trailer, so we had to park further out. Items stolen from trailer during the night. Discovered their security cameras only cover up to first row of cars. Since this is obviously an issue, better camera coverage as well as actual parking lot security patrol is needed. We avoided BWs for the rest of our trip because of this. If customers don't feel safe, they won't stay. Pretty simple.
I've stayed here the past five years for a week during my annual business visit. In the past, no problems. This time, several issues. First, the WiFi kept disconnecting, which for a business traveler is a serious problem. It made work almost un-doable. Staff tried to help but could not. When the WfFi worked it was fast, but it was totally unreliable. Also, the room had a strong, toxic chemical smell to it, from over cleaning? I had to keep the window open the entire time, which let in the loud noise from the nearby roof exhaust fans. All told, not a peasant stay. I'll probably stay elsewhere next time unless these get resolved.
Usually money dictates where we stay, but this time we wanted something 'nice'; and we certainly found it and then some!!! This was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed!! The staff were very friendly!! We were thankful that we were able to find a great room at an affordable price and the dog was more than welcomed there as well!!!! We will return again and again!!
We were given what I considered a fair price for the 1st night (Sunday) and then the prices was adjusted up $40.00 per night for the 2nd and 3rd (Monday and Tuesday). This was agreed to before we registered so it wasn't a shock but I still am unhappy because it is in the less popular season. We liked the hotel and I will still include it in my search for my next visit but it will not be my first choice.
To make a long story short, I tried to cancel my second night-(had booked 3 rooms) and was told by front end staff who talked to manager it was too late. The cleaning staff had already left. This was at 3:30pm. I don't think canceling at that time is unreasonable. I won't stay there again, plenty of other options.
Best Western Grande Prairie has always been the hotel we have gone to for the past 5 years. We have stayed at others before but now come back to this one all the time. The staff know us and go out of their way to make our stay easier. My husband has several mobility issues and they have been amazing at going out of their way to make our stay easier. I am in and out of GP on business on a regular basis and I can always get a room even on short notice. The staff and restaurant know us by first name, and we know them by name, they are extremely polite and helpful. If there are any issues at all they get them addressed right away. My only negative comments would be the change in the décor. It is not so much the look of it but taking the cabinets out of the bathrooms to put the shelving style in is a waste of money. They do not look any better but if something falls off the side then you are continually crawling around on the floor trying to get it out from under it. I do not see the point of taking out many of the towel bars, it just makes things harder and provides the opportunity for people to be slobs. I know these decisions are at the corporate level but I also know the cost of those things come back to the customer........ Best Western is fortunate to have the dedicated staff it does so that in itself speaks to people returning because of that.
i will be brutally honest... i booked the best suite they have .. $197 for the so called presidential suite .. the room was spacious . that would be the only positive remark i can make... the mattress was like sleeping on a trampoline, the room lacked any decor other than a couch , tiny desk, 2 tv's ... no glasses or coffee cups . other than plastic . small washroom . and to make it worst . the room is located , right next to all the heating and cooling equipment which is located right outside the window... its like a dryer full of boots making a racket the whole night or a cement mixer ... when i mentioned to the desk what room i was in and the noise . there was an automatic response which indicated they were totally aware of the issue .. and took a measly $20 off the room rate ... my rating is based on , 1 thay are aware of the problem .. 2 they promote this as their presidential suite charge the highest rate they can for something that is the furthest thing from what they describe. as a loyal and long time customer of best western .i fell that the only thing that i experienced here was, i got ripped off ... 100% totally disappointed .
Great breakfast, great selection of food items. Very attentive gentlemen host at breakfast. Close to where we needed to be! Clean! Very friendly people at front desk. Italian restaurant Padrinos great service great food.
Stayed again and the room was clean and well appointed, carpet maybe needs to be cleaned but it was a good nights sleep. Breakfast is by far the best breakfast of any Best Western we've stayed at. We'll be back again in May because of the breakfast alone. Thanks
It was a great refuge off the highway after a long drive!! We found the staff very friendly, the hotel was very clean. We had room service from the Italian restaurant onsite. Very good food. The bed were clean and very comfortable. Our room was at the back and very quiet. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. We highly recommend this hotel!
Didn't get the room I booked. They don't even have a king suite. I specifically asked for one. Spent our for night in a room with no heat. It was -36 that night. Very cold in room. Had to go to front desk twice the next morning to find out when they would have the room cleaned that they were moving us to. Not impressed
Very clean, staff was friendly, check in and out was quick, hotel decor is a bit dated. Never have stayed overnight in GP before I have no other hotels to compare this to. Ordered room service and the food was good and it arrived quickly.
I stayed at this BW as it was close to the airport and the Coca Cola Center. Check in was fast and effecient, hotel room was comfortable as I was upgraded to a suite. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room as I was there for a skating competition. Bed was super comfortable, pillows were perfect as was the towels in the room. Clean washclothes were awesome. I do have 1 negative review concerning the room, was the fact that I did not notice until I was in bed that my room was directly beside the outdoor exhaust pipes. I did not notice it until it was time to sleep and my heating system shut off. It sounded like I was beside train tracks. Now, I did not complain to management about the noise because I had settled down in the room and would be out all day the next day. That was a mistake on my part, I did not anticipate how late I would return 11pm so, because of the noise, I did not sleep the 2nd night and was up at 4am to catch a 6am plane. Also, check your bill before you leave. They charge a "sustanability Fee" that you can opt out of which I was not aware of until I looked at my bill when I got home. They also don't include their local number anywhere on the bill so I had to go online to find it. To their credit, once I called, they reversed the charges for the fee onto my credit card. Despite the negative point to this review, I would recommend this Best Western just not that room if you want a quiet sleep.
Stayed 2 nights at Hotel, was extremely cold in the the minus 35 Celsius range. We have stayed at this Hotel numerous times in the past and we have found it to be an excellent Hotel to stay at. The Location is handy to all the major attractions in Grande Prairie and easy to find.
I have stayed at this property a few time during the past three or four years and have never experienced any problems. The staff are very professional and are always willing to assist. Have really never considered any other hotel chain in this city and would definitely recommend it to other travellers. The hot breakfast is well presented and has enough variety for anyone to choose from.
We checked in late but were helped out . The next day we moved to a quieter room and had a better night. Breakfast is great with fresh fruit, cereals yogurt etc as well as ham and bacon or sausage with scrambled eggs toast and chunky hash brown potatoes. All included! Nice!
With always having a hard time to find parking. Make sure you get food before you park your car/truck or you might be waiting a bit. Don't ask about room service you won't get it. I've stayed at BW in edson and Drayton valley and I would tell them to go there in a hart beat just not in GP you will not be happy. But who knows
This hotel was clean, comfortable, affordable. The staff was excellent. Because I am a member, I was upgraded to a suite room. During the complimentary breakfast the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten allergy as the eggs in the buffet were sitting on bread. They had eggs cooked from scratch for me. Convenient location, close to shopping. Great restaurant attached.
Had a late check in for a pet friendly room, we were called about 7:30 to see if we were still needing the room which was good on them for checking. Arrived about 10pm and Check in was relatively painless. Once we got into the room (108) we of course got comfortable, my wife had a bath and I then proceeded to have a shower only to find no shower curtain in the room, called the front desk thinking they would just pop in and install one as it would have taken all of 2 minutes. We were asked if we wanted to change rooms which we thought was pain because we had already unpacked a few things but said we would. They proceeded to give us a suite (202) with a separate sitting area and bedroom, along with a few other upgrades. What a pleasure that was as it was a long day for us. Then off to the restaurant the next morning for the included breakfast and WOW another fabulous surprise as everything was fresh, and I mean fresh cracked scrambled eggs instead of the ones that come prefabricated in a bag, real bacon and ham not the mechanically deboned and or type, fresh fruit, juices, cereal, coffee, tea, and great service to boot. We saw the two star rating on tripadvisor before booking and wondered, but knowing the Best Western franchise decided to book anyway and glad we did. Thanks BW We'll be back again in May and fully intend to rebook. Thanks for reading. P.S room 108 is way to close to the lobby so ask for something away from the lobby as it's a little noisy sometimes.
Booked 2 rooms in October for this trip, one for my co worker who was on the 4th floor and mine on the first room 101 next to the pool. One room was paid in advance and my room at the time. I had the king jacuzzi room and very disappointed as I filled it went to get in it and dirt was coming out of jets. Jets need to be circulated and cleaned not just the exterior of the tub. Was not impressed after paying 237.00 for the room and could not utilize the jacuzzi tub, as it was the main purpose to sooth my aching lower back. Room was ok bed ok but bathroom very small as you can barely get in there to close the door. Room is tired looking after just coming from the clean new one in Ft St John. Positive- Coffee machine in lobby to have a latte anytime. Friendly front desk staff. Located next door to Tony Roma. 2 bathrobes and slippers which I did not use.
We stay here in May of this year for our nieces graduation! Best service ever ??and our room was very clean and spacious.comfortable bed!, very happy to stay there and we will return.already getting ready to book there again , and a very nice little indoor pool
Very clean hotel, everything worked great the only down side was the bed leaned to one side almost if a great weight had slept only on one side for a month, this caused me to keep rolling to the center. Have stayed here before and never had that problem before.
The staff who we interacted with were very professional yet down-to-earth. Wanted to ensure they could do everything possible to make our stay the best it could be. Quiet place, despite the parking lot being full of vehicles - never heard a sound from any other customers. Restaurant is amazing.
Very nice staff. Food at Padrino's is pretty good, fairly reasonably priced. Nice breakfast selection - improved over the last few years. Rooms are quiet, t.v. channel selection is pretty good. Cost of hotel is fairly high - I know location is a determinant but I am looking elsewhere in the area.
Room was dirty, breakfast was terrible. When asked for an upgrade and a new room we were moved to the same style room. Then when we asked again we were moved to a business suite which now only had one bed.
While the room is good, no room service during 3 night stay, no continental breakfast served, and price for room compared to similar ones around Alberta is way over priced. Mostly due to mini oil boom in GP but at this place don't expect anything "extra"
Everything in. Grande Prairie is on the expensive side, this hotel is no different, but if your à regular BW customer they are reasonable. The place is clean and well kept, staff is friendly. Both restaurants on site are good.
Hotel staff are very professional and the room was quite comfortable. The coffee maker did not work well but is was only a minor inconvenience as coffee was available elsewhere in the hotel. I would stay here again as it is easy to find and meets all of my requirements for a good comfortable hotel. The internet worked well and I was able to connect without issue.
Average room, Might be better of a stay if you decide not to be on the 4rth floor, sider of Tony Romas......Noisey... Better of other floor, get better sleep? Breakfast was good, staff was pleasent & friendly
This hotel should be proud of there hotel and the staff was so helpful and there was nothing I could say other than the best hotel I've stayed at. They are mintues away from malls and food service and a park for walking or running and even a casino even a 10 mintue drive to the airport very handy to drive to.
The staff at this hotel go the extra mile for every patron. I feel very respected every time I walk in and out the front door. The fitness area is very clean. The breakfast is awesome. The lady asks for your room number but is there for whatever you want. Awesome employees at this location
Location of the Satellite receivers right next to the window in the room is of great concern. Something must be done to control the noise level on the 4th Floor, particularly the room I stayed in. Engineering and management controls can be implemented to manage noise at the source. Engineering controls can employ elimination or isolation techniques. Elimination method does not necessarily entail the complete removal of the sound. But any method that reduces the sound to an acceptable level is considered elimination. It is critical to identify the cause of the noise at the source. A band analysis may be required to show the frequencies at which high intensities are occurring. This will provide clues to the sources. Vibrations produce sound, so long as the frequencies involved are within the audible range. If the sound is undesired then it becomes a noise. Therefore any vibration of rotating equipment should be examined as a potential source of noise on the 4th Floor particularly the room I was given.
This hotel is clean, the staff are very friendly and the rooms are great. Large rooms with comfy beds. Breakfast is nice - not the usual continental breakfast with microwaved eggs but an actual cooked meal.
Nice Hotel, great location lots of meal options, decent fitness center and restaurants. I stay at Best Westerns because you can count on the quality and consistency of this chain. I would recommend this hotel
I stayed the business this time. The rotation of HOTEL was quiet, and was all right as location requirements. It was the place that there were several restaurants if I walked a little, and was good.
I highly recommend staying at the Best Western in Grande Prairie Alberta. Tremendous staff and accommodations.Great value for price of room. Centrally located and easily accessible. Plenty of room to park.
Good clean rooms, staff was helpful and friendly. Had a good location and easy access. Close to Tony Romas and a Mr Mike's and they have an excellent restaurant on the premise as well. Continental breakfast is good for a free meal.
I enjoy staying at this B.W. location in Grande Prairie, it's close to good dining and shopping and is easy to get to.. One complaint I would have is the room rates are too high compared to comparable hotels in the city. I'm a Diamond Best Western member and feel the discount on the room is not deep enough for a loyal B.W. client.
Stayed here one night before we flew back home. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff was outstanding very accommodating. We made use of the free shuttle service to the airport.I would stay here again when in Grande Prairie.
Driving into a easy to find hotel made our stay more relaxing and stress free. Check in was a breeze and our clean inviting room was a breath of fresh air. Comfy, convienient room made our stay very relaxing. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and clean. Our two sleeps were quiet and enjoyable. We went down for breakfast each morning and were rewarded with great choices that we enjoyed. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality you offer with your stays!
Very pleasant staff and hotel was clean. Great location. Enjoyed the hot tub after a very busy day. Breakfast was well presented and good food. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. Overall great experience for business travel.
Very clean hotel, close to restaurants and shopping. Friendly ,courteous staff . Everything was ready when we arrived and check in and check out was very quick and efficient. The room was well laid out and very comfortable. Loved the Telus Optic TV.
Check-in staff helpful, the room was clean and bright with lots of fluffy towels and comfortable beds. Breakfast was really good and the hotel is located right across for a Tony Romas. Excellent overall - best hotel on our trip!
Nice, Friendly and courteous staff at check in. Ready to help. Nice hot Breakfast and not usual crappy continental breakfast you get other places. I spent only one night with my family though. May be if we had stayed longer I would have a different view.
Whole family stayed and everyone had a great night and an amazing buffet breakfast with fresh fruit and french toast with strawberries and whipped cream and lot more... used BW rewards points for free night ...what a bonus thx BW!
We took a trip to Grande Prairie to celebrate our anniversary and were so glad we traveled Alberta. We try to stay at BW hotels and again this one didn't disappoint. Very clean hotel and staff and the breakfast was delicious.
Good hotel with comfortable rooms and amenities. Excellent location with easy access to business areas, shopping, airport. Access to beautiful park system and walking/cycling trails is right across the street. Dining choices include restaurant on site (although over-priced) and a Tony Roma's on the other side of the parking lot. The only thing keeping my rating at 4 stars instead of 5 is that the room rate is at the top end of Grande Prairie hotels. At a slightly lower price point, I would have rated this hotel at a 5 star level. Overall a good experience.
Grand Prairie is a nice town and this is a nice hotel! The Hotel Staff are great! Very friendly and professional! The hotel is very nice, and the included breakfast was good with good quality and variety Hotel is in good location and I will stay there again!
We had an excellent experience at the Best Western in Grande Prairie. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and everything worked well. I'm not sure how many stars this hotel rates, but it's an excellent mid-range hotel.
A great place to stay with a real breakfast, not "foam eggs" or paper thin bacon, just real fresh food. Restaurant was a real treat, very tasty selections Hotel staff are very helpful, and rooms are kept very clean
The free upgrade to a jacuzzi suite was just what our weary bodies needed after a long drive. Especially considering the pool and hot tub were closed because of the time of our arrival. All the staff were friendly and helpful
This hotel and the staff are some of the best in the hotel business. I definitely recommend this hotel for your "home away from home". The staff are all friendly and will help you in any way they can to make your experience pleasant
The arrival process for us was not a good experience. With a late arrival, we had to push a button to open the inner doors of the vestibule into the lobby. But there were two baggage carts in front of the switch, and without the ability to open the dual doors in either direction, no way to move the carts easily. The woman behind the desk (who could see us struggling with the carts but didn't assist) wasn't particularly friendly, didn't seem to be interested enough in her job to pick up the piece of trash on the lobby floor a few feet directly in front of her. She sent us first to a room that had not been cleaned, when we came down to get another room, she wasn't particularly apologetic (and the trash was still there). The morning person didn't seem to be desirous of making an improvement either when we told them of the cart issue. The room was fine, and appropriate for the slightly above average price. HOWEVER, there was one high point and that was the lady running breakfast and the location for it. They use the restaurant for the breakfast and the woman running it was kind, helpful and patient (we didn't arrive until 5 minutes before it closed and she kept it open a bit longer for us, without us asking).
Room was nice, clean, and comfortable. There is a Keurig coffee maker in room. Excellent shower. Best part, for me was the breakfast. Real eggs and bacon, It is still buffet style, but they didnt mind us ordering eggs over easy. Soooo good.....
I come to Grande Prairie for business, and stay at the Best Western. The look on the outside might be older, but the rooms are updated and the staff are friendly. They are always friendly to me at the front desk and I have never had an issue.
Spent 3 nights here. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were very good. Would stay here again and would highly recommend the hotel.
Nice breakfast is included as our some coupons to use in the on-site restaurant. In the parking lot is Tony Roma's so you do not have to venture far. Grande Prairie hotels unfortunately are expensive so any extra perk offered is well worth it.
BW was a welcome rest for the family after driving the Al-Can highway. Modern accommodations with swimming pool and hot tub. Hotel is pet friendly. Staff was accommodating to our needs. Computers and printer in lobby to catch up on emails while on the road.
Great people, service was awesome as was the top shelf breakfast , we left well rested, happy with our stay, and will be back to this Hotel when we visit Grande Prairie several times during the year. Thank you , and your wonderful staff. Cheers Miss Abbey
we stayed here while my husband was battling cancer and the staff has gone above and beyond helping us every time. Housekeeping worked around my husband resting. The place is very clean and the rooms very comfortable. We have stayed there lots and will continue to do so.
Although my wife and I experienced excellent service from the very friendly and helpful front desk staff we found the room somewhat lacking. Our main concern was that the carpet appeared to be dirty. However everything else about the room was very good.
My go to place if I can get a room. Home away from home. Thank you to the staff and it attached to Padrino's Restaurant which I LOVE. Always clean and comfortable. Thanks everyone to everyone that makes my stay so much better in GP
Nice Clean hotel with good service and great breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. Ironing board was a little wonky but everything else was solid. Bathroom was clean and shower had excellent water pressure. No complaints.
Robyn - the lady that booked my room went over and above to help me make my anniversary a romantic surprise. Helping me out with rose petals, romantic signs, bath balms and everything. It was truly amazing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Paige
We love staying here! Pet friendly rooms on the main level are so convenient. We love that the pool is open until 11pm. The breakfast is excellent and it is easy to get around Grande Prairie from this location.
I spent two nights here. It was close to where I was working which was a bonus. Breakfast which includes a hot buffet was included which is a nice touch. It was very quiet and I had a good sleep both nights. There is a pool and hot tub which I never got around to using.
I expect the very best from this hotel and they always deliver. First class facilities and service. During this last stay they made it possible for me extend my stay when the hotel was already full. You will enjoy the friendly staff from check-in to check-out.
Wonderful day staff. Very accommodating and friendly. Rooms are nice. The restaurant has good Italian food. It is the exceptional customer service is what stands out at this location. I would recommend this hotel to travelling professionals
What a difference - Danica at the front desk when we checked in was amazing! She upgraded our room at no charge because we were Gold club members, offered us a 10% discount at the restaurant Padrinos there and was extremely friendly and helpful She just made you feel as though you were truly welcome and it just made you want to stay there
There was a mix up in the room rate quoted. I was given an upgrade to a coporate suite. The girl at check in arranged my cab for my medical appointment and she followed up twice as they were delayed. She wanted to make sure I made it to my appointment on time.
I stayed at the Best Western Grande Prairie for business and found that the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room was clean and well furnished and the internet worked well and was quite fast. Overall a very pleasant stay and I will definitely book there again on my next business trip to Grande Prairie.
Very clean room, helpful hotel staff. Pool could be more fun for kids, but was good for the price paid. Breakfast buffet was well worth the cost of the hotel. Probably saved us $50/day (family of two boys and two adults)
Great service, comfortable room, breakfast , pool hot tub, airport shuttle. Our fridge was not working properly because the last people did not shut the door properly and the service guy changed the fridge for us right away.
Hi there my followers, I am staying at the Best Western hotel in Grand Prairie, I finished eating breakfast there, and it was an ok meal. There was coffee, hot water, milk, creamers, oatmeal, your basic breakfast, includes, scrambled eggs, Hash browns, bread and butter and some jam for toast. The bacon is delicious, it's not too salty, greasy, or crispy. It's just right. The coffee is pretty good too. The room that we had, is a King sized suite, with a pull out sofa. Two tv's with Telus Optik. It was extremely cold in the room, and had to put on extra layers.
I have stayed at many Best Westerns in Alberta and Saskatchewan and the front desk team made sure that their Diamond members were upgraded to at least a King Suite. For the first time, BW in Grande Prairie was not able to do it that way. I understand it depends upon the availability and all-but I have done the reservation a while back to let the team know. In future, I would have reconsider staying at BW in Grande Prairie when coming to Grande Prairie. Otherwise everything else is good.
Stay at this hotel every time I'm in Grande Prairie if it is available. Best free breakfast in GP. Rooms need some upgrades like better desk chairs but are otherwise quite comfortable. Internet is pretty average but TVs are good quality. Fitness Center has lots of equipment/machines but is a little crowded with the limited space. Pool and hot tub.
I have reviewed this property before and found their pricing incredibly high. I thought I would at least stop in and see if anything had changed. No, room rates still place this property close to what I pay in locations like Vegas or Napili Bay, minus the view of the strip or better yet the ocean! But here I was, in front of the young night clerk, attempting not to be shocked again at the room cost. Her name was Sarah and from the moment I suggested the rate was out of my league, she caught my heart and I completely forgot about my wallet. More on her in a minute. This does not affect my review but the ceilings in the rooms on the main floor (I was in Room 110) must be 10 feet high! That is not a problem, just a little perception issue. The room is nicely laid out but the very high ceiling leaves the impression that you are a small person sleeping in a giant's house. Not a complaint merely an observation. It is interesting that this is the second property where as a guest, I was required to pay for a safe in my room, something I had no interest in using! When did hotels start charging this ridiculous add on tax? Perhaps they are borrowing from the add-on fees so common with air carriers today? But back to Sarah for a moment. I am always sensitive to not hassle the front/night clerks at the properties that I visit. It falls on them to explain the various prices and policies of their property and then it is up to me to decide if I will stay or not. I always thank them for their time and it would never occur to me to be anything but polite. Sarah told me the cost for a night's stay and after absorbing the sticker shock again, I thanked her but I knew I could do better. I was closing my wallet when she told me that she could perhaps get a better rate if I was a "Best Western Rewards" member or, if I had an AMA membership? Okay, that was worth a look. I carry so many loyalty cards that I actually keep them in a large binder in my glove box, just for such emergencies. But alas, the price was still too high for me. Sarah then asked if I would like her to phone a similar property down the street, to see if they had a better rate. What! Who does that? I could hear how curt the clerk was on the other end of the line as Sarah explained that she had a guest in front of her and that he could be there in minutes. She was being rude to Sarah who was only trying to please a guest that was not even going to be a guest! I cannot recall the price she got from the other property because now I was not moving. I was staying with Sarah because she continued to show how important it was that she get everything right for me. She tried a few more ways to get the rate down but it no longer mattered to me. I have the bill for my stay on my desk but I have not looked at it yet. I did not want to colour the beautiful experience I had in that lobby and because young Sarah was so into looking after me, the money no longer mattered. This was more than great service, this was a life experience. A beautiful moment after a long drive provided by a young lady working a late shift to support her household and her one and a half children (the second one will be along shortly). Thank you Sarah without the "a" on the end! So enough whining about the rate. This is a very nice property. The room was very clean and it felt as though it had been recently completely remodelled. The remote control comes in its own little fabric sock and the bed had me sleeping in minutes. My room was only steps from the lobby but there was not a peep to be heard. Breakfast is several bars higher then most properties and it is served in the Padrino's Italian Restorante that is attached to this Best Western location. It has been a while since I have seen such a mountain of bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs, all held at the right temperature in steam severs. Sitting with my paper, I was starting to feel like comfortable royalty. Again, this does not affect my review because I am now paying attention to the add on charges for an unused room safe wherever I stay but, Sarah had already noted that on my bill. It is one of their boxes that require initialling for acceptance on their check-in sheet and by not initialling it, you will not be charged. Just a heads up. If you are lucky, you to may bump into Sarah and when your heart starts to race when you hear the rates, she will work diligently to make it stop racing so that you can get settled for your comfortable night's stay. Think of me when she does.
We always love the service, the hotel is clean, staff are wonderful. Any time an upgrade is available they offer it. The breakfast that comes with the meal is very well done, and the hotel is always very professional in behaviour and appearance.
other than the incident where the children were running up and down the halls above us at 6:30 a.m. we had a very pleasant stay. The area was quiet the hotel atmosphere very relaxing and the breakfast was great. We would definetly stay again
Very quiet and clean. Excellent continental or complimentary breakfast. Staff was very friendly. I would stay here again and would recommend to all co workers and family. No chance to use all amenities as i was working long hours, but every thing looked clean and well maintained.
I've been here a week and the staff have been very friendly the whole time. My bed feels great and a complete array of pillows so that I could choose what fit me best. Price was decent and excellent coffee in the front.
My recent stay at this hotel was good. The room was clean and breakfast was what you would expect to find at a Best Western. I found that the check-in was a bit slow, which always reminds me to opt for express check-out. I would stay here again.
Stayed here for one night. Bonus - new beds!! Very comfortable and bed clothes were clean and warm! Our room was clean and well stocked with towels and coffee/tea. Our room was on the 3rd floor, facing the parking lot entrance. I think this is my only complaint - parking lot noise with trucks beeping while backing up and Yahoos speeding down the side street. But the hotel can't control that. The staff was courteous and very efficient. We didn't use the pool area or gym, so can't comment there. Vending and ice machines on each floor. So, now we'll get to the complimentary breakfast. That in itself is worth staying here! Bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, French toast, ham, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, toast, bagels, muffins, pastries, coffee, tea.....so awesome!!! And all you can eat!!! Definitely stay here again!!!
As a Diamond Select member, I did not consider any other venue. Have stayed at this hotel at least 5 times during the past couple of years and have never encountered any problems. Staff have always be courteous and professional.
Overall a great stay with super helpful and friendly staff. Pool was basic but great. Breakfast was fast and conveneint and the quality of everything was great. Highly recommend this hotel if staying in Grande Prairie.
I stay here often always excellent, rooms are clean , staff is super and the food is great the pool is always clean and the location is ideal, they keep me coming back , I travel for business 15 weeks a year and always stay at a Best Western when possible
We are Traveling from Calgary to Yellowknife. We always stay at Best Westerns because of the cleanliness of the hotel, rooms and great staff. This particular one in Grande Prairie had the most comfortable bed and pillows ever. So inviting after a. Long day of traveling. We had dinner at the Italian Resturant that is part of the hotel. It is fantastic to walk out of your room and the Resturant is just down the hall. Dinner was great and the complimentary breakfast was fantastic.
We chose this hotel for the location, price and being able to bring our dog with us. It's a great location, two restaurants, one on site and Tony Romas right next door. Check in was quick and easy, the staff extremely friendly and our room was very nice. We were in room 107, which was perfect for having a dog to take outside. An easy walk across the street and you were on a lovely walking path close to the new hospital being built. There is also a playground along the walking path if you have children. Our room was clean, quiet and right on the same floor as the pool and hot tub. We were so surprised to find that the breakfast was right in the restaurant. It was absolutely fantastic! We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend this hotel to our friends and family. Thank you for everything!
I enjoyed the room and it was very clean and comfortable. I was in a mini-suite with a separate bedroom from the living room and it was a very nice layout. The bed was very comfy and I didn't hear any noise all night. I can't wait to stay here again on my way through town.
I have stayed at this hotel before and am never disappointed. The guest rooms have been recently updated and the breakfast is always fresh and great. The hotel staff remembers me as I stay at this hotel often, that makes me feel welcome at any time.
Had problems getting my reservation due to difficulties with my card. The front desk went out of there way to make sure I got a room . They are great staff. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast could of had more options
The stay was good, the employees are very kind and make guests feel welcome and at home! Breakfast was very good, there was always lots of Bacon!!!! The location is close to restaurants and other amenities.
I've stayed at this hotel many times. The rooms are clean and modern, and the morning complimentary breakfast is second to none. It's also conveniently located right beside a Tony Roma's. The staff are friendly and they do guest appreciation night's with complimentary pub grub (chicken wings and that kinda thing) and will even throw in a beer.
This Best Western has the most attentive and caring staff I have encountered in a long time. And as for the beds can't ask for more comfort! the only down fall I found is that with renovating the decor they have put in over sized counters in the bathrooms and you almost have to stand on the toilet to close the door if you have claustrophobia not a good place for you.
My husband and I have stayed a few times in this hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Very comfortable beds. There is a full buffet breakfast included in the room price. This breakfast has always been excellent. The restaurant in this hotel is also excellent with nice atmosphere.
Facility has great amenities. The convenience to the Down Town or the Industrial is excellent from this facility. If you like walking convenient to walking paths, The Museum is across the street. Also can walk or drive to the Shopping Mall, we walked and it is approximately 15 minutes. Two restaurants on site or across the parking lot both we found to be excellent. However if you want to go out to the movies a short 5 minute drive. Would recommend and definitely would stay there again. Being a past salesman and a business traveller the internet in room is fast and consistent.
Very nice hotel, great restaurant, Close to the office, very close to the airport. I enjoyed the antique furniture placed throughout the hotel. They offer lunch preparation to go. The breakfast was great ranging from fruit to bacon and eggs. Good coffee too.
Having stayed in many hotels over the last few weeks, I can say this one is my favourite. It's just perfect - clean, comfortable, quiet. They've thought of everything and then some. Fantastic TV with tons of channels. The beds are really comfortable. Free wifi for as many devices as you have. The shower is second to none. The pool and hot tub are immaculate. The free breakfast is amazing. Not just a continental breakfast, but a complete breakfast buffet in a restaurant! If I could, I would live in this hotel. That's how much I enjoyed my stay here.
have stayed here many times before when passing through G.P. Room was comfortable, kind of small for a king room but still good. Bed was very comfortable and room was super quiet, almost as if we were the only ones staying there. Front desk staff were great and breakfast was very good as well. So was the breakfast attendant. The only thing they need to do is make sure they move the smokers away from the lobby doors as the lobby smells like one big giant ashtray ! We'll stay here again if the rates don't go crazy like they used to be.
Very clean hotel. Good location to hospital & college. Great breakfast included ((hot eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, pancakes baked goods, & other usual items provided with extended weekend hours in the attached restaurant. Wheelchair accessible rooms. Has a weight room, pool & hottub. (Not accessible) The staff were friendly. Complaint: Unable to access WiFi all weekend Front doors locked after hours (we attended wedding), door bell located between the two outside doors; the luggage carts were all stored in front of the doorbell . doorbell was over the head of a wheelchair user. Rooms were too dark to read in while the lights were on at night.
My room was clean, quiet and the bed was SO comfortable! At this BW I feel quite comfortable in walking in my stocking feet to the ice machine, the hall carpets a kept as clean if not cleaner than the room carpets which are excellent. For the most part staff are friendly, willing to provide assistance and answer any questions.
Great service, lady at the front desk did some juggling in order to put us in a non-smoking room and away from noisy fans. They have customer appreciate on Tues nights, wine, beer, finger food, which was a nice surprise. Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. Excellent Italian restaurant had supper there. Breakfast is included in the room price and is also excellent, much, much more than a continental. In room internet. I would definitely recommend
Clean, good visit- always pleasant staff. I have stayed here before - always consistent. Convenient location. There is lots of parking. Did not use other facilities. ...The town has been hit hard by the economy and most properties show that.
1 night in Grande Prairie for business. This is a basic run of the mill hotel. The Good: - Hotel is new-ish and has a nice appearance - Rooms are good and well appointed - Location is good with many food options nearby The Bad: - Overpriced, $190 in Grande Prairie??? - Rooms need some TLC (eg. bathroom drain that wouldn't drain, electrical outlet that would go on and off) - Breakfast options were good but cold and food wasn't being replaced when emptied.
I have stayed at this hotel for years when traveling to Grande Prairie on business. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Location is central and in easy traveling distance to all amenities.
I loved this hotel. The basic room had a sitting area separate from the bedroom. I asked for smoking and they accommodated that request no problem. Room service was great. I ordered a steak from the restaurant and it was to the standard of a red-seal chef. The halls and entry lobby had the feel of a small country inn. I will stay here every time I go to Grande Prairie.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, close to shopping and beautiful parks. Excellent breakfasts. Have stayed at this hotel many times. It is our home away from home in northern Alberta. Looking forward to our next stay.
The nicest Best Western I've ever stayed in. Stayed one night while traveling the ALCAN. Nice Italian restaurant downstairs that serves good food. Room was large and clean. Staff was very friendly. Included breakfast was not the standard hotel breakfast. They actually had real fried eggs and real bacon! I would definitely stay here again.
Just stayed 1 night before catching a flight to Edmonton & LA. We were dropping a rental car back at the airport hoping to then get the hotel free shuttle. So I phoned the hotel to find out how that worked. They said the last shuttle was 5:10pm from the airport. So we rushed back to Grande Prairie from Peace River hoping to get there in time. Just made it - to find out that the last shuttle was later - so we didn't need to rush. When we checked in they gave us a ground floor room right next reception and with the stairs for upstairs on our wall also. When I enquired at reception about getting a better room I was told nothing was available. I had booked the room well in advance - so definitely would not have expected it to be the last room. Very disappointing. The room itself was old and also noisy
This is a good place to stay. It's a new facility and is what you'd expect. Neat and clean, everything in good working order. It's also nothing unique or special. A good safe choice off route 43 on the northern side of town. We arrived late and left pretty early on an Alaska to lower 48 move, needed safe/no surprises and this place delivered. Our gold standard is the comfort of the bed - A grade given. Can't say much about what else is close by, other than there are two car washes nearby. (If you've driven the Alcan you'll understand)
Overall a very decent property. Rooms very clean as was the entire facility. Only issue I had was with the luggage carts - very hard to manage! Nearly ran into corners/walls a few times, despite being careful. Surely there is something better and easier to navigate?
Nice, Peaceful. I was concerned about lots next door but no disturbance from them that I could hear. it was a good night This part was BS! I was done after my few words and now IO am pissed off and was tempted to delete this whole form BS.
Nice lobby, very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean, modern, spacious and beds are comfortable. Wonderful, free breakfast in the morning. Convenient location just off the freeway. Restaurants near by (Tony Romas across parking lot, Italian at the hotel). Coffee, tea and fruit were available all night in the lobby.
The reservation people need to know the hotel policy of only 4 people in the room as I booked a room for 3 children and two adults and was honest as I wanted a room large enough for 3 children. I was informed when I booked the rooms had only two beds and the hotel did not have cots so I would need to bring my own. When I got to the hotel at 8pm with three children who had not had supper yet, I was informed that we could not check in as there was a limit of 4 people to a room and was not allowed to have 5 people in the room. The clerk called the manager and the manager stated the same thing and it was "too bad", I then stated I would have to go to another hotel and would like to cancel my room and was informed that it was too late to cancel and I would be charged the full amount for the room. As I was unable to afford to pay for a room I was not going to use or not being able to find another hotel room last minute in Grande Prairie, I felt I was held hostage to not only to pay for that room but to book another room. I did book both rooms and was informed that they would have two beds in both but when we went up to the rooms they only had a bed and a pull out couch and was told that this was considered two beds and all their other rooms were smoking rooms. I have stayed at this Best Western several times for work and personal and due to this my staff and I will not be staying at this hotel again.
Staying here was ok not as nice as other BW facilities I have stayed in but it was comfortable and clean. The location was great has 2 restaurants on the property and is close to other restaurants. The staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet had a selection off different types of food.
Nice hotel, clean common areas, room was very clean and comfortable. View was nothing to be excited about Italian restaurant attached is very good, higher end though. Tony Romas in the same parking lot so you can always go there if you're feeling more casual.
My experience of staying at this Best Western has been better and better with the last few consecutive stays. It feels like the focus on customer service has become more of a consideration, and it shows I have encountered 2 very wonderful staff and have had very positive encounters when calling in to the hotel. Well done!!! My only disappointment is that the hotel has switched to multi use squeeze bottle body wash and 2 in one shampoo and conditioner which are very masculine scented so ladies if staying there bring your own (which is a pain) or you'll smell like the boy next door!
always a great place to stay when in Grande Prairie, i can always expect the same excellent service every time. always friendly and courteous. and the rooms are so comfortable it's like being at home.
My husband and I travelled 3 hours to spend a night together to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary , we had reserved a jacuzzi room . Later that night we had tried to use the jacuzzi which would not hold the water. Went we had told front desk the next morning her response was sorry. I personally think I should have been refunded for something I had paid for but couldn't use.
Was given a very quiet room on the 4th floor, so I got the most restful sleep. Unfortunately, the hot/cold water was reversed on the bathroom tap and I almost burned my hand when I was testing for cold water. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is always tasty with lots of variety for people who are picky, like me.
My mom lives in GP and she surprised us with a hotel room this past weekend. When we arrived the front desk lady was very nice and helpful but when we got to the room which was supposed to be a suite we found it to be a bit cramped for space considering we payed extra for the suite. With the sofabed out we could not even open the door to the room so we had to physically move the entire sofa. The room my boyfriend I shared had mold in the sitting area and the shower head had a really high pitched whining noise when we turned it to a hot temperature to shower. The beds were nothing special. The free breakfast was average and had nothing you wouldn't expect at a typical continental breakfast. The eggs however were quite rubbery. The pool was decent enough but the hot tub was not cleaned properly and in the corners of the still water in the hot tub in was definitely yellowing and was pretty gross.
Whenever I stay in Grande Prairie I stay here, the hotel is nice - the staff seem to care about your needs and the restaurant is one of the best in town. It's centrally located to my needs, but is outside of the main city corridor which if you are travelling to Grande Prairie for the sites... then I would certainly suggest a different travel agent.
This hotel has a solid foundation and the soft goods are fairly new. The property, however, needs some renovations. Wall paper is peeling, sealing around the shower and sink area needs to be redone, and the carpets throughout need to be replaced. When you walk into the lobby, you think that it is the 1970/80s. Having said that, however, the bed was comfortable, rooms were clean and the hot, complimentary breakfast was very good. I would recommend that a room rate review was done as for its age, I believe that the prices are above local market value. Dinner at Padrino's was excellent! The dressing on the house salad was tasty and the baked spaghetti and meat sauce was excellent.
We went there as our house wasn't ready to move in yet, we got upgraded room free, and free hot breakfast inside hotel. We had a tub in room king bed so comfy! And pool was great! Right beside tony romas ( but wouldn't recommend that place to eat) walking distance to casinos And casino good food!!! Tuesday two rib dinners $24.95 and Thursday two steak dinners total $24.95 as well! They have free shuttle service. The staff always there to help and keep prices compared to the same if not cheaper then other hotels in area.
This is my most frequent place to stay in grands prairie. Rooms are clean, quiet and clean. The restaurant is great and breakfast is good! Staff is always friendly and willing to help you out. I have stayed here many times and I will return. Thank you.
accommodations are always great, however the breakfast and restaurant less then adequate. breakfast food was cold, and the restaurant the service was very slow and over priced. waited 15 minutes to get seated when there was several tables available
I travel to GP once a month and this is my favourite hotel to stay at. It's a little far from where I need to be location wise, but the customer service makes it worth the commute for me. The ladies who work at the front desk are always super pleasant, even when I arrive later in the evening. On one occasion I had a delayed flight from Calgary to GP and they called me while I was at the airport to make sure that I was still on my way and that I hadn't booked for the wrong date. The rooms are clean, and the facilities are great. I use the fitness centre when I stay and the equipment is good quality and well maintained. The free continental breakfast is great too, and I appreciate that it's open early so that I can hit the road for work without an empty stomach. I will definitely stay again!
I stayed one night at this hotel for business reasons. I was here before for another night. It is a good hotel, comfortable bed and very good internet speed. Easy access to restaurants, Cinema, and groceries. Room temperature was really nice, with no noise, and good cable TV channels.
Awesome place for visitors, very welcoming staff. I like staff who engage me as a person not just a paying consumer. Being greeted in a respectful and accommodating requests in a timely manner. The pool is a great place to relax and energize in the mornings. Thank you Best Western for everything.
My wife and I stayed here for the Family day long weekend and our stay was great. we had a great sleep as it was very comfortable and quiet. All though some of the guests where up quite earlier crashing around, but I guess we can't control the other guests can we? However no partiers crashing around all night. it was very quite. Great breakfast although some items were cold such as eggs and pancakes. we have stayed here before and it was much better.
I have stayed in this hotel for several years while on business. I have never been disappointing with the quality of the hotel, rooms and amenities. This is a perfect location for what I am in town for. The hot breakfast provided is very nice buffet with a great selection of hot and cold items. The guest appreciation night is also a very nice touch!
Recently, we stayed at this hotel with our large family and circle of their friends to attend a funeral. The staff ensured the room was spotless and even left a card offering condolences. Check in was done very professionally. The breakfast was in the adjoining restaurant, and it was great. (bacon, ham, eggs, pancakes, cereals, toast, English muffins, yogurt, juice, etc). Our only downside was the size of our queen suite, as it was a bit small for our liking; however, given that we called the hotel at the last minute and they assured we even got a room, let alone that we got a non-smoking room, we were thrilled. We also stay at this hotel when in town on business and always have a consistent experience. Great job to all staff!
Hotel is older, many newer more modern hotels available in GP for less money. Only use this one when everything else is full. With the decreasing oil and gas activity in the area, customers should not have to pay high rates for this type of accommodation, many other options around the area.
We arrived and had good service at the front desk. Our room overlooked the fans/mechanical from restaurant (rm 429) and could be heard in the room so we asked to be changed to a different room and were accommodated. Breakfast was varied and was good-eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, yogurts, muffins etc. would stay again. Seemed close to everything.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past when I was in the city for other clients. The breakfast is second to none and have always found the staff to be very friendly and professional. Their Tuesday evening customer appreciation hour is such a great touch and handled in such a professional manner. The location is on a main street and easy to access.
I'm in the area every few months for a week or so, whenever possible I stay here, staff always great, hotel is always clean, rooms are always clean and the same, so no surprises from room to room or floor to floor, restaurant is great, try the Bison Spaghetti. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the area.
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. The service is always great. The rooms afreclean and the beds are comfortable. The Restaurant Padrinos is Awesome. The food is great and the service even better. acomplimentary hot breakfast buffet is served every morning and it is one of the highlights at this hotel. I would recommend staying here. My only disappointment is that the price is getting expensive
The room was very nice. The only thing we found was that the insulation between floors could have been better. We could hear the people talking and coughing above us. The staff are friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant was very nice and had delicious food.
Stayed at this Best Western during a work visit to Grande Prairie. Hotel is well kept, clean and the free breakfast served in the attached restaurant is great for a hotel breakfast. The staff was very helpful. Will stay here again on business when in the area.
My Husband and I checked in on December 24th to a mostly empty hotel. Check-in process was quick and painless, room keys in hand within 5 minutes of walking in the door. As I was bringing our bags into the room, the front desk clerk handed me a wrapped gift and wished us a Merry Christmas, very unexpected! Housekeeping was off from Dec 24th to 26th so they could spend time with their families over the holidays so there was no daily room cleaning. I'm TOTALLY OK with this as its nice to see that a company cares about their employees enough to let them take this time and spend it with their families instead of cleaning rooms wishing they were home. Room was OK, shower is AWESOME and I need to find out who they use for their mattresses as its the best sleep we've ever had; need to get one of those mattresses!
I was in room 331 that is obviously beside the heating plant. It was very noisy all night. This room should be turned into a storage room, definitely not a guest room. The staff were all very good, and I have stayed here before and found the other rooms quite fine. As a Diamond Reward member, I was disappointed that the room was not a king (that I always order) and that such a poor room would be assigned to me. On future trips to Grande Prairie, I will consider going to the Holiday Inn instead of the Best Western. This was a good way to lose a customer.
I was upgraded to a queen bedroom suite which was a pleasant surprize and breakfast was very tasty with plenty of variety.Room had 2 tv's and was nice to have a seperate sitting room with a desk area.
You will love this hotel for its comfort and its very warm clean pool and hot tub. The breakfast in the Padrino's restaurant is free and well put together. The staff are always friendly and there is usually some type of points promotion going on. The business centre is easily accessible and had three working computers and a printer all set to use.
Very clean, nice rooms, quiet. Excellent restaurant. Staff very friendly and quick with service. Good location for ease of shopping. The in hotel restaurant is awesome also a Tony Romas right next door.
Always a pleasure staying here. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make us feel welcome and well looked after. The rooms are nice and clean and have coffee and a small fridge. The breakfast is very good and is served in the restaurant between 5 am and 10 am which works great for us. Close to all shopping and other ementies.
Great amenities and free breakfast! Comfortable room. Very clean and beautiful decor. Great pool & fitness room. Helpful hotel staff that went out of their way to help me with a lost item. Would definitely stay there again!
Great place to stay, on the main road, great service, friendly staff and close to restaurants. Excellent continental breakfast. Parking lot is a bit tight for larger trucks but would definitely stay here again.
We had a good sleep as the beds were clean and comfortable but it took a while to go to sleep as we could hear running water and the people above us. The sound of the running water was very annoying and high pitched. The room had an odor that wasn't very pleasant, due to (I think) the old rug in the room. It was dirty and stained. The breakfast was awesome! The pool was very nice. I would say it was a bit pricey but overall was a nice hotel.
This hotel was very clean and room as good. Check in was easy as was the check out. My only concern was that you could hear every step the people on the third floor made in their room and the running of little feet. I also went down looking to see what was for breakfast but was unable to find it so just got a coffee and went back to the room. No biggie but more signs might we helpful
Rooms were very nice and clean but couldn't get a table at Padrino's the night before and complimentary breakfast was terrible - overcooked eggs, old fruit and funky sausages. Overall a good hotel we just won't think about eating there again.
Good clean rooms , friendly staff , good location to Restaurants such as Tony Roma's . On by pass through town , close to all main business's . Better value than most of the hotels around . We will be back .
A really great hotel! Staff were lovely. Room was spacious (Queen suite) and very quiet. Wifi was super fast: individual modems in rooms which may sound a bit antiquated but very much appreciated. The attached restaurant was amazing (rated #2 in the city) and I regret that I only discovered it on my last night here. My only complaint is that I booked a smoking room as the weather forecast was dodgy and the stale smoke smell was quite bad - the hotel could definitely invest in a better odour neutralizer. Being the minority smoker, I couldn't complain too badly though.
Awesome service got my reservation right room type - staff on shift welcoming and very pleasent!!! Over all a wonderful stay this go around reminded me of the quality that I had been expecting and receiving up until the hotel renovations took place...
hotel was nice and clean, staff was polite, room was clean; enjoyed the soaker tub in the room. Had good coffee in my room using the Keurig machine; nice change from the normal, nasty coffee most hotels serve.Breakfast ha a good variety and was tasty.
This Best Western is a great place to stay. It is quite modern and very clean. The staff are really nice and they have a manager's special a couple of evening s during the week. I didn't participate but it looked good and smelled great. The internet was very fast and allowed me to work very comfortably in my room and get a lot of work done in a short period of time. This Best Western has the best free breakfast I have ever come across in the last five years. It has everything and it is cooked to perfection and is FREE. The only thing that was a concern to me was that the room had very poor lighting to be able to work and read. I don't know why hotels can't install better lighting at least over the desk area.
This hotel is a little bit out of the way, but there are two restaurants on the hotel ground. My room was large and comfortable. The hotel is clean and the service is great. The food in the free breakfast is abondant and good. Actually, I was particularly touched by an event at this hotel. A man entered and starting to insult people from the Philippines at the front desk. I was impressed that the young women at the guest desk stayed polite and ferme. After a while, she told the man that Best Western establishments didn't accept this type of language and discrimination. He would have to find himself another place to stay.
The room was nice and clean, but the window overlooked the roof of the adjoined restaurant and the air handling vent was very loud and constantly roaring as if an airplane was going directly overhead all night.
We have eaten /stayed in Best Western Hotels from Grand Prairie to Key West Florida and found the breakfast served in Grande Prairie to be the best Quality/Quantity served. The effort put into the breakfasts in Grand prairie out shines any of the Best Westerns we have stayed in as well as some of the other chain hotels we have used in Canada and the US.
I have had no luck with hotels in GP, so for this business trip I made sure to check all the reviews and find a reasonably priced hotel that was clean and modern. The Best Western is not fancy, but it is clean, and close to the airport. The included breakfast was a good added value, and the restaurant was nice in the evenings. All in all a nice stay. Just a tip, if you're a light sleeper see if you can get a room on the top floor. The floors are very thin and you can hear everyone above you.
Can't rate excellent because of the ridiculous rates here in GP still. If they drop their room rate by at least 25% then they can have an excellent. Anyway, got a nice upgrade to a corporate queen suite. It has a strange layout but gives us a little more space. Our room was a little noisy because it was so windy outside and the wind was whistling through the a/c vents as well as around the entire wall mounted machine. 2 flat screen tv's although the living area in the suite is not laid out properly for it to be comfortable to watch the tv in that room. Bed was super comfortable. Breakfast is great here - one of the best out of the BW's we have stayed at (just a couple of nights away from Diamond Elite - so we stay at a lot of BW's) Great front desk staff and great breakfast staff as well. We will stay here again for sure (but would still like to see the rates drop !! :o) )
