Best Western Gallup West

We are Tesla owners who regularly stop here to charge our car. While we have never stayed overnight at the hotel, we can see just from the lobby amenities that the recent switchover to the Best Western brand has significantly upgraded the quality of the hotel. The restrooms are sparkling clean, the lobby area is bright and welcoming instead of feeling drab and tired and overall one gets a feeling of happy employees rather than those reluctantly serving customers in the most desultory way. Good job, Best Western!!!

Our first stay was so great we stayed there again on our way back through! The staff we encountered were all very nice and professional- the older lady working the breakfast area is the sweetest, and deserves a raise! The breakfast area was kept clean and well-stocked. There was a good variety- waffles, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, oatmeal, yogurt, cold cereals, fruit, breads, etc. As for drinks, there was apple or orange juice, flavored water, water, coffee, hot tea, or milk. The rooms were spacious and most importantly, clean. The beds were comfortable. We stayed on both the 3rd and 2nd floors and had no problems with noise at all. Our only complaint was the parking. The handicap spots were too narrow for the crossover we were driving, on the occasion that a spot was open. It was difficult to find open spots. 8 or 10 of the spots have been made into Tesla chargers, which we never saw being used. Another half a dozen spots were reserved for Premier guests. When your parking lot is as small as theirs is, this greatly reduces usable space for the general public. Overall, we had several great stays. I made my reservations through the Trip Advisor app and they had no problems finding my information. I just had to sign, write a description of our car, and get my keys. We would stay again, and would recommend. Just try to get there early for parking!

The Staff members are very professional, friendly and accommodating. We have stayed there throughout the year and each time it feels like “welcome home,”feeling and warmth. It's a place of comfort and great nights rest. We will keep coming back as long as we are able.

Had to book an unplanned stay, with a pet: Staff was OK, a little short but polite. The bathroom was awful, missing large pieces of grout and did not appear very clean with black areas in the corners of floor and shower. Looked like old tile had been dyed or stained. Beds were comfortable. Highway noise was expected, noise from the people walking above us was not, very hard to walk quietly and no carpet to muffle sound. Had to turn on the TV to try to drown it out as they were back and forth very late, but we could tell that it hard to walk soft even for us.

This hotel is very good. Breakfast are simple. Rooms were clean. Parking was fine as well. I do hate that so many people had their dogs off leash on our floor. Please be responsible dog owners. Not everyone loves your dog like you do. Keep them on a leash.

The hotel was clean and staff friendly. It is outside of Gallup, on the west, old side with many neighboring businesses closed which left us feeling a bit uncomfortable. Would probably choose the other BW in Gallup if we were to stay there again.

Very clean, friendly staff in a nice location. Had stopped here about a month ago and will definitely stop again. Exceptional handicapped room. 👍🏼 200 characters is too many when you have nothing bad to say about a hotel, motel or restaurant.

Good stop over hotel. Clean and comfortable. Room was good size and everything worked. good AC. Bathroom was on larger size. Location was ok right off Highway but not a lot of noise. Fast food is a short drive away. Front desk staff was nice. large parking lot.

The Hotel is a always clean and the staff is very friendly. A few years ago, when I first stayed at this hotel, I got a text when I got to my room to welcome me and to give me a direct line to the front desk on my phone. I so appreciate that. This visit I got a call from the front desk to make sure everything was to my liking. That's great customer service.

A woman working in the breakfast room wouldn't let my disabled veteran husband with diabetes get orange juice in a paper coffee cup with a lid to prevent spills and bring it to our room in case he experienced low sugar. Later, when he tried to refill his coffee, she saw him coming and took the coffee pot in the kitchen and told him he couldn't have any!

Stayed at the "downtown " BW location previous month. It is a touch more upscale than this location, especially the breakfast. Downtown is walking distance to EL Rancho restaurant which was good one time only experience. This BW is way out of town and nothing walkable But it is very safe feeling vs. downtown. Downtown is a no pet BW which is a plus for us. This BW does allow pets. We stay on top floor to be away from dogs. Downtown is busier and higher priced and you should make a reservation. Both are fine to stay at. hope this review will help you decide which one best suits your needs.

The facility is very clean and well-maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is easy to get to, right off the highway, but it is quite west of the city center. This means it is quiet, but not a lot of restaurant or other amenities nearby. But would still definitely return.

Very Clean. Staff is always so attentive and friendly! We stay here every time we come to Gallup. Breakfast is always delicious and so clean! This is our go to we don't stay anywhere else!!!!!!!!! We go 4 to 5 times a year as we have family there.

Great location. Right off Hwy 40 and a short drive to downtown Gallup. Continental breakfast is included with your stay. The staff is professional and helpful. Overall a good stay. The only slight negative thing, all though is a great location, the entrance off Route 66 isn't well makes.

Nice, quiet, clean hotel just off the interstate. Room size was adequate, and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was adequate, also. Price was affordable. No issues or complaints. Would definitely stay here again if I were passing through Gallup.

The service was great. The staff was amazing. The breakfast was good. They were able to accommodate my truck and trailer. They accommodated us with four service animals.

A motel with a pool that needed maintenance. Hard to enjoy a swim after a long day driving in green water. The room was nice but indications of the lack of maintenance were everywhere. Beds were box spring type mattresses and difficult to sleep on. Had I to do it over again, I would have spent another $50 and stayed elsewhere.

Looked clean at first, but when my kids went into the bathroom, there was bunches of toilet paper with brown smudges behind the toilet- GROSS! I called down to have someone sweep it up, and it was over an hour before someone came to clean it up. Otherwise, room was comfortable and fine for 1 night.

The hotel is a nicer best western in a quieter, not as busy part of gallup. The rooms are nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have overflow parking for larger vehicles and they are within walking distance of a convenience store.

I am reporting this place to BBB and other travel agencies to prevent faulty website and ill-will to fraud customer's money and not giving me the refund back for the hotel nights that I did not stay. faulty website chose the future date and when I tried to re-schedule, they just told me to go to their corporate call center. Then, call center told me to go to their hotel directly and cancel it. this complaint is for specific location, 111 twin buttes road, Gallup, New Mexico. they still have this charge pending on my credit card...I DID NOT EVEN STAY there. I had to book another Best western. This is family owned business who thinks they can get away with anything. Not on my watch. Reach out to me if you need to talk to me 949-697-4859.

I am done with the corporate BW/individual operator dissonance. Booked online with BW, when I called the hotel to change the date of our stay we were told to call the corporate number (which they gave us the wrong number to) After a couple of transfers, had a long conversation to delay our stay by one day because my mother in law died and we had to delay our road trip. Somehow this information never got back to the hotel as the date was not changed, they charged us for not showing. To add insult to injury, when we went to check in allowed us to do so before we figured out they were checking us in under a similar sounding name. This after looking at both the I.D. and credit card. Front desk person needs some serious re-training. Had to scramble to find another place to stay. Still wonder what would have happened if we had remained and the other party showed up later. Total lack of communication and compassion. Will never book at another BW

Just OK, nothing to be excited about. Over priced for a BW in my opinion. I stayed at 3 of them this week on a trip out west and this one was by far the least desirable.

A nice Best Western, very good value. Breakfast was nothing special, indoor pool was not heated. No spa/Jacuzzi.

Newer built hotel, clean and modern rooms, plenty of outlets for chargers. Didn't use pool, but it looked very nice. Great location off of I-40. Quiet, no freeway noise.

This is a review not for the hotel itself, but for the front desk. My parents checked into the hotel on 4/9 and requested a first floor room because they are elderly and had their dog. They put them on the second floor. My parents asked if they can have a first floor room, and the front desk (her name is Jessica) was very rude and yelled at my parents. She then informed them they had 10 minutes to get out of the hotel and canceling their reservation. All because they just wanted a first floor room. The one star goes for your customer service which is sad that she had to be that way towards them.

No hot water at either peak or non peak times. Insufficient parking unless you want to park in the unlit dirt area. Unhappy or unwilling staff and the tub was so dirty I stood on a towel to get my cold shower.

There's a lot of good people lots of pillows. Comfy beds. The bathroom was nice. Pondering what possible reason the hotel would “ tape” the shelf on in the shower as obviously it must be broken. Real eyesore as you see it right away. Would be better to leave shelf off. Breakfast was great . Oddly one cup in the room for coffee pot. No water cups

Heater/AC unit made a squealing noise every time it started up. It did this all night long. Resulting in a very restless night. When my wife tried bringing this to the attention of the staff member at ck out, the staff member was very rude & disrespectful. We will never stay at that BW again.

As usual, a very nice place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional. Perhaps when they renovate the place in the future, it would be nice if the rooms were carpeted

The hotel is remodeled/modern, clean, beds extremely comfortable and breakfast one of the best we've had. Loved the decorating for Valentine's Day! No close restaurants, though, and didn't want to get back on highway to find a restaurant. Overall the best stay we had on our trip west.

Checked all the boxes. Ample parking for larger vehicle was a plus. Missed out on breakfast due to early departure time. some fresh fruit and coffee in the lobby for the early morning would be a nice addition.

The most rudest people ever!! First of all they messed up my reservation which was the beginning of the end!! How can they mess up when BW head office had the proper reservation! The mgr was the most unprofessional person ever!!!! If you can stay someplace else do SO!!!!!!!!!!!

This Best Western is particularly nice with rooms accessible by hallways and not exposed through parking lot. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was great with fresh cooked bacon and other regular items. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

We were on a road trip doing the historic US Route 66 and stayed here overnight on 26 May 2023. This hotel is on the historic route and close to I40. Check-in was easy and the reception staff was very polite and exceptionally helpful. Room was large, clean, air conditioned and had a flat TV, microwave, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker etc. Comfortable bed and other furniture in the room were also good. Bathroom was very neat and was provided with neat towels, toiletries and hairdryer. Free Wi-Fi is provided. Hotel had amenities like an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and coin laundry. Free public parking is available and there is also an electric vehicle charging station. A vending machine for snacks and drinks is kept near the elevator. The complimentary buffet breakfast was not having a big spread and some of the items needed refilling, which was not immediate. While there are no restaurants close by, if you go about 3-4 miles on US Route 66 towards east side, you can find plenty of restaurants and shops. The only discomfort was the occasional sound of trains passing by. I guess there won't be much sound, if your room is on the back side. This hotel is a perfect stop on a road trip, especially, if you are doing US Route 66. Overall, it's a decent property with all necessary amenities.

Be sure to have proof of the price to be charged before you check in. The front desk ladies tried to overcharge me by $60.00. Luckily I had the printout from the confirmation email for the reservation. Even with physical proof of the correct price, they still tried to overcharge me. Buyer Beware.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, breakfast was beyond my expectations. I would definitely book this hotel again if I'm ever back in the Gallup Mew Mexico area. The only issue I had was I was given two conditioners and no shampoo but mistakes happen.

We will always stay here when we come to Gallup to visit family. The cleanliness, the extreme comfort of the bed, the breakfast, and the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff every stay we love!!!

After 11 nights staying in hotels during a LONG road trip, this hotel ranked in the top 2 for stays. The pool was great (grandson played for 2 hours), the breakfast was varied and the correct food temperatures and the room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area.

We selected this hotel because we were traveling with our dog. Because BW are independently owned not all of the hotels allow dogs. The hotel staff were incredibly nice. The hotel location was not as convenient because there was only one restaurant four miles away. However the hotel was clean.

If you are looking for a nice stopping point on your path from here to there, Gallup has a great place that is easy to access, comfortable to stay in, has a lot of great amenities, is -really- pet friendly, and has great staff with a fantastic attitude. My wife and I made a relatively short-notice reservation on a cross-country trip, using TripAdvisor to help in our choices. We settled on this property and paid using BW points. We were not disappointed! The staff on check-in were happy and helpful, our room was comfortable and big enough to meet our needs. Would happily stay again. The only issue was the elevator... It is a bit tired and not the most reliable, with it going out of service three times during our one night stay.

While this is a very nice facility, the surrounding area is very rundown. Very few services as far as eateries in the area. You have to head back East from this West location to have any chance of having a decent meal. We ended up eating at a travel plaza, which was fine. Not what I was looking forward to though during my stay.

This is a designated Tesla charging station, however it's obvious they hate Tesla owners. The front desk attendant came to the lounge area and ask us to move to two designated seats in the lobby, said we could use the restroom, but nothing else. Meanwhile, she and the other hotel employees ate hot dogs in the lounge area, told stories and laughed the 39 miserable minutes we waited for our charge. I've been driving Tesla's for 8 years, stopped at dozens of charging stations and never been treat like trash like I was at this location. The manager on duty, Audrey Benally said there are no written policies for me to review stating that Tesla owners are restricted to the lobby. I'll be sure to never stay overnight here. There are so many options for great Tesla charging stations, this is not one of them.

Absolutely horrible experience. Arrived 9pm after a 13 hour drive, there was no one at the front desk for 25 minutes, called, the phone just rang. Once the lady arrived she seemed very off put. Got to the room…I'm not sure what was “newly renovated in August 2022” like the website states but the rooms looked 30 years old, old and gross. Hot tub out of service. Sounded like the upstairs guests were fighting and about to fall through the ceiling. Breakfast lacked a lot. Do not try to save a couple bucks on this one!

This hotel has changed affiliation to a Best Western. But it's the same hotel. It's located on the west side of Gallup. As far as scenery goes, it's surrounded by filling stations and budget lodgings. But the rooms are OK and the staff were helpful. There's a small indoor pool for recreation, especially if you're traveling with kids. And there are some vending and snacks on site. If you have a big vehicle or are towing, you might want to park on the gravel behind the paved lot .There are also several Tesla charging stations in the parking. OK breakfast bar but short on available seating.

This hotel shouldn't be a Hampton. Our room had a stained dining room type chair next to an extremely dusty plastic plant. Why bother. The bathroom had cracked tiles. The coffee supplies were only for 1 person. At breakfast, I took 1 bite of my waffle and threw it away, then my husband did the same. A lady sitting near by laughed and said she did the same. Not sure what was in the batter but it was awful. We used to be big Hampton fans.

You are better off sleeping in your car in the loves truck stop parking lot. This location needs a lot of repairs. The rooms are old and dingy. It was not clean to my standards. It was late when we checked in (after 10 pm) and only one night so we just stayed. I will not be revisiting or recommending this location to anyone ever.

Average stay. The room was clean, bed extremely comfortable. The staff was cold, no warm fuzzies at all. Breakfast was ok, hot water wasn't very warm,, toiletries were minimal or lacking. I would recommend this hotel, but not enthusiastically.

Great customer service and the hotel was right on my way to my destination. It was a great Spot secure and easy To find Will definitely stay here again in the future and refer this location to friends
