Clean rooms and fast enough internet. Good location around plenty of food to walk to. Any and all the staff I spoke to were very nice. Good breakfast with plenty of options, you could see the chef cooking so I felt kinda bad for him but his food was good. The tables sucked though, the tables have metal bars crossed at knee level so its impossible to tuck into. A small detail but sucked as a tall person
A bit disappointed after 2 excellent stays at Best Western in Edmonton and Calgary recently. First, at check in, the lone front desk staff was tied up on the phone for quite a bit, I don't know why there weren't 2 desk staff on a Saturday, she was a bit flustered checking us in hurriedly. Room was clean but only one paper coffee cup and one regular coffee pod, very little cream and sugar packets, and no hand soap by the sink. When my husband went down to ask about coffee pods and a mug she was surprised , gave him a few coffee pods and waved him over to the breakfast room to get a mug himself, he had to pick through to find one clean with no stains. Typically we expect to be told they'll have everything sent up to the room. For the price we paid for one night we expected better service. Upon checkout I said I'd like my receipt emailed. Usually I receive it immediately, I have yet to receive it 10 hours later and will be contacting them in the morning. We did not have breakfast or use the pool. The beds were comfortable with good pillow choices.
Great location, clean room and hotel. The staff were all super friendly. The setup of this hotel is very nice, I especially liked the fact that there was an outdoor space for breakfast. I had a fabulous sleep, the climat was comfortable, the bed and pillows were also super comfortable.
The bed sheets and top covers were dirty, the room carpet was not clean. The bathroom floor was not clean. The hallway carpets were dirty. The hotel was understaffed and under great pressure trying to satisfy myself and other unhappy guests.
The welcome at check-in was quite nice, the room was super clean, and the breakfast was much more than I expected for free (eggs, sausage, pancakes, pastries, yogurt, etc). The pool and water slide were super fun too. The hotel is also walking distance to downtown and even in 30C weather we easily walked it with our two younger kids. It took about 15 mins. There's also several fast-food places plus a Boston Pizza in the same area.
We hit a deer on the way up and lost my son in the museum. This hotel was the best part of the trip, and while we did set a low bar, the clean rooms, and comfy beds in our 3 bed, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite exceeded our expectations, the hot tub soothed sore muscles caused by the deer hit, the pool and waterslide entertained the four year old until closing time and the breakfast was very good and the facilities clean. The staff were amazing, cheery, chatty (but not overly so, just the right amount to make us feel like we were welcome) and clearly happy to be there and I would absolutely recommend and stay again.
Sure Stay is a well situated hotel with a great breakfast and nice rooms and a fun pool ,hot tub and water slide that we all enjoyed. The staff are friendly and helpful We were a party of 11 and we were all impressed.
We absolutely loved this hotel. The pool and hot tub were amazing, the rooms were comfortable and spacious and the location was perfect as it is right nearby tons of food options and within walking distance from downtown. The staff are friendly and amazing and we had a great experience! We stayed here as a group of 37 people in 12 rooms
We absolutely loved staying here. The staff is amazing and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is awesome with fresh cooked hash browns and scrambled eggs. We absolutely loved staying here.
Friendly staff and super helpful. The kids had a blast in the pool and on the waterslide. The beds were so comfy we wanted to take them home. We Will 100% go back again.
Hotel is clean and closely located to restaurants and fuel. Staff very friendly. Great place to stay.
Really enjoyed our stay this weekend! The kids had so much fun in the pool! Ok ur room was so clean and in the s to add were amazing! It snowed the one night and although I can't confirm, I think the hotel cleaned the snow from all our vehicles windshields!!!
Junior hockey teams here EVERY WEEKEND. Seriously? Quiet time is supposed to be 10pm. Yelling and partying until well past 11pm. What a shame because the beds are super comfy, room is clean and you get an awesome breakfast with very friendly staff. The front desk person said teams are here every weekend all winter long. I will never book here again in winter if it's on a weekend. If quiet time is 10pm, management should enforce it at 10:01.
We stayed at this hotel for a pre Christmas December break. Always a warm welcome from the reception staff. Room was great with cooking facilities comfy beds and a good hot shower. Perfect for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was busy but the staff kept it well stocked with a selection of hot and cold food. We did not get to try the pool on this occasion but definitely be back again. Plenty of parking spaces right outside.
We recently stayed at this hotel with our U18 hockey team. The hotel is somewhat dated, but clean. It's not fancy, but makes up so much more in other areas. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating to our team. Providing us with a parent room, that had a full kitchen allowing for us to have team meals. They also gave us a kids team room, where our older boys could hangout on their own. They kept the pool open late for our team to come back for a swim, after their late hockey game. They were quick and efficient with their breakfasts in the morning for the kids, with an array of hot and cold choices. The staff is pleasing to talk with, and deal with. The amount of respect that went both ways this weekend was a breath of fresh air. I would recommend this hotel for large families, and teams. Lots of different kinds of accommodation with space. Thank you again to the staff at SureStay Drumheller. U18 Raiders hockey parent.
Had a one night stay at the Sure Stay Plus as we were in Drumheller for a basketball tournament. The section of the hotel that I was in was fairly new looking and was well appointed. Only issue was that there was no hot food items for breakfast when I was going thru line. The hotel might have underestimated the numbers of guests, but this would have been a typical weekend imo
Let us check in early. Great staff. Went above and beyond. The lady at breakfast this morning was cheerful even though is was crazy busy and some people were really messy. Pool clean and warm . Even for a two and four year old . Nice pillows. Full of small hockey players and loud partying parents but staff made sure everyone quiet by 10:00 pm so all the other paying customers in the hotel could also sleep.
The place is a dump. Very run down, hallways dirty. Pool wasn't working, told that Health dept. made them drain it. Looked nothing like the rooms that were advertised on line. King Room also didn't have a bathtub. I looked at the room and went to the desk and cancelled.
We stayed 1 night in the Family Suite. A very large room that comfortably fit our family of 6. Only complaint would be that the AC unit when it cuts in/out is very, very loud. We found it disruptive at night. The pool area is great, breakfast was amazing with loads of selection, hotel was clean and comfortable.
Great location, close to popular restaurants easy access to local attractions. Indoor pool and water slide are good for families. Light breakfast included. I would definitely return for a stay over in our future travels. Place was clean and so was the room.
Location is absolutely perfect but other than that, Not Worth the Price Tag for extremely run down rooms. Requires major facelift. Breakfast space is too small, options extremely basic, technology options really old.. Staff could be a bit more polite/helpful
Good hotel, good location, steps away from several fast food varieties and access to indoor pool and hot breakfast. Booked room with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that also included a full kitchen and free coffee.
Staff were friendly enough...until we brought up issues at checkout, then they got very snappy. There was no food left at breakfast, still 30+ minutes before it ended. Toilet didn't flush properly, then ran all night, keeping us up. Bathroom fan squealed so loud it was awful. It was connected to the light switch so you couldn't turn it off. Hot tub was not working. Stay at The Ramada in the same parking lot, don't waste your money here.
We were put in a room that had recently had water damage. The odor was awful, everyone left feeling I'll. Most of the high touch surface areas were covered in muddy hand prints at check in. Front deck did provide me with cleaning supplies so could wipe down these areas (within 30 mins of check in). Front deck attendant lied (white lies) at least 3 times in face to face interactions. Stay in Calgary and drive in for the day. Far better hotel options with much better pricing. This hotel is worth about $85-115/night not $250.
This was our first time visiting Drumheller. The town gets very busy during the summer months. The hotel was also very busy but the front desk staff were quick and friendly during check in. There is ample parking on site and the room was well-appointed. The pool area was great for the kids but just needed some additional cubbies or hooks to store things as the pool deck was wet or would get splashed. The breakfast that was included offered a decent variety of hot and cold items and was well stocked. The pancake machine wasn't working properly and the coffee could have been better, but other than that was fine. The interior and exterior of the hotel was clean and you could tell that efforts were made to keep it that way throughout the day.
Just way to Expensive for what one gets, there are other more reasonable accommodation around, they have over priced this facility. Just because it has an overcrowded swimming pool, it might attract locals but those passing through swimming pools in other places are everywhere, they need some competition. Support locals.
Very pleased with our stay. Rooms were a tiny bit dated, but overall good. We splurged and got a large room, and because of it being a bit dated is the only reason I didn't feel it met the value of the room. We also don't travel often, and are adjusting to the price increases everywhere. The beds are very comfortable. Sounds did not travel through the walls a great deal, making it fairly quiet. Loved the outside door access, especially as we traveled as a family and had a lot of stuff to haul in. We didn't realize that all rooms are pet friendly. I was impressed that there was little to no animal smell in the rooms.my husband said he could smell it a bit, I could not. It was not noticeable in the bedding at all. Very pleased on that note. Staff were good and went beyond at times, In particular the staff in the complimentary breakfast room. Nice variety of food for breakfast. Something for everyone in hot and cold options. Nice hot tub and pool. Water slide was a bit too fast for our toddler, but we had fun watching the older kids and parents have a blast on it. Great proximity to a beautiful grocery store, and a few fast food restaurants. Also located in a quiet part of the city. Good internet access as well.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. All of us had fun at the water slide and pool. The continental breakfast was full of options and delicious. Even our picky eater enjoyed the breakfast. Great place to stay!
I have stayed at the hotel several times now, as I love Best Westerns! But I have seen the quality of breakfast, dwindle, as well as the rooms deteriorate. Specifically, the carpets are saturated and smell, like mold! They need to be removed. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful, a big shout out to the breakfast lady as she was great! The front desk clerks were also fantastic!
Easy to get to, lots of parking checkin quick and easy. Room clean and spacious and quite. property has elevator. Walking distance to several restaurants and shopping. Only downside is Breakfast room Is small and was too busy for us to use. Tim Hortons just up the street.
Stayed here over the Canada weekend. Lovely clean room with everything we needed Friendly staff and we felt welcome. Parking was right outside and it's in east walking distance of downtown and local shops. Breakfast was well set out and there was a good selection. We have stayed here whenever we visit Drumheller.
We stayed one night on a family trip. For drumheller the price was comparable to other hotels, but was 2x what we paid at a SureStay a week later in Lethbridge. The Breakfast was great with lots of options, but limited seating. The rooms were clean and comfortable but not much extra space. Not much room to open a large suitcase on the floor.
My family wanted to see the dinosaurs and this hotel fit our requirements - a room that fit all of us (3 beds), a pool (with an awesome waterslide), breakfast, a laundry facility, and friendly staff (thank you, Gabe!)
The hotel is a bit dated, but clean. All the staff were super helpful, truly going beyond the norm. The pool area is nice. It was quiet. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance; even downtown is just a nice walk away.
This hotel is very dated and needs a complete reno. For $250 a night it is really not worth it. The toilets barely flush and the pool area is way too small for the amount of people using it. The breakfast area is so tiny you have to eat in your room. The front desk is no where near the elevators and you have to use a different door. Do not recommend staying here if you have a better option. Very disappointing for a Best Western.
We stayed here the Canada Day weekend along with everybody else! We were not impressed with the hotel. Our room (103) was noisy, smelly, and the carpet was old and stained. The lighting in the room was subpar. We were not overly impressed with the front desk staff. We chose not to have breakfast even though it was included. The room was far too small to accommodate the number of people there. For the amount of money charged a night, approximately $250, it is definitely not good value. Parking was always an issue - fortunately parking is shared with Ramada next door.
Great January Stay Visited Drumheller and stayed at the Best Western Hotel. It's located near the shops and restaurants and only a short walk to the old town. Room had everything we needed and the breakfast was good and well presented. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but looked nice. Plenty of parking outside too
Not what I expected since this hotel is affiliated with the Best Western chain. Bed had springs poking through and were uncomfortable. Cable tv is something I haven't seen in years and it was constantly coming in and out, which baffles me as it is a coex cable into the tv… fridge was extremely small and froze our lettuce and lunch meat.called the front desk several times before someone finally answered to inform them we didn't need housekeeping daily. I know it sounds like a lot, but I'm not making this up.
Room was visibly dirty...and in hindsight we should have changed rooms but whos to say the next one would have been better. We were in a pet friendly room so not their best room but could have been clean. Beds are tired and need to be updated. Kitchenette didn't have enough dishes or cutlery for 2 people to have a meal. Eventually got that sorted but I would have expected better. Pool was good, slide is very fast. Hot tub was waaaay too hot for me but others were in it so perhaps I'm a wimp. Breakfast was good, lots of variety and gluten free options were advertised as available although we didn't need them. Staff were great!
Our bathroom door jammed shut and they told us to use the lobby bathroom for the night! We were on the third floor and I have three children! One whom had an upset stomach! They wouldn't give us a key to the adjoining room that was vacant just so that we could just use the bathroom for the night. Instead, I had to pack up 5 peoples belongings and move to a different room and by this time it was midnight! I had to wake my children! Which is no parents dream!! I didn't get to sleep until 2am! And the desk manager treated me like it was no big deal! So frustrating! O and to add fuel to the fire!! They didn't offer the room that actually had enough beds for us until my brother in law went to talk to the front desk person!! So why was it that because I'm a woman, who was trying to be nice and not raise a stink, trying not to be a “Karen”, was told there was no screw driver to try to open the door, and that the only room they had available was a one king bed? (We we're staying in a room with 3 beds… 5 people). Didn't make me feel very good about trying to be a nice person!
Gabriel, at the front desk, went out of his way to help my wife and I when we had an issue with our Expedia reservation. He quickly ensured that we had a comfortable room for the evening and followed through with Expedia to clear things up. We were really impressed at the lengths Gabriel and the staff went through to make sure we had a memorable stay in Drumheller. In terms of customer service, it was one of the best experiences we've had. Thanks a million to Gabriel and the SureStay staff.
Sorry, to leave a poor review. I find Best Western Hotels can vary in quality, some are just OK, others are great but this one was terrible. The hotel is in need of updates, better lighting and do something about people smoking in the place. It really reeked (especially after turning on the A/C. Just really disappointed and I do not expect to return to this hotel on my next trip to Drumheller.
We had a terrible night due to the awful beds. Very hard squeaky and old. Terrible odor in the room coming from the bathroom sink. Breakfast was average except for the coffee. Clear as water and no taste.
Nice location, nice room, comfortable bed, Shame the breakfast room is so small that it is crowded and guests are queueing to get in. Food runs out quickly and the layout is poor so much so that eveyone gets in each others way.
Location is great, the staff beyond wonderful and helpful and terrific with young kids. When we come back we will stay here again. Rooms were clean and spacious. Great having full size fridge and microwave for prepping picnic lunches. Rooms were quiet. Really no complaints!
Our room was huge with the kitchen and love that we can even bake chicken wings in the oven. The place was close to everything with grocery stores and fast food restaurants just walking distances. Love the experience and will stay here again
Overall excellent service provided by front desk and room service staff. Hotel is in a very central location, very convenient. Easy to get around the city and sight seeing locations. Delicious hot breakfast and best value. Good quality coffee and tea. Will stay again next time
They let this hotel go it is not very good lots of maintenance problems and lots of things don't work. I'm suppose to report them? I don't have time for all their run down maintenance problems and lack of upkeep in the place. The door handle came right off in our hands to our door just as we entered the room. They told me they could make me something for gluten-free allergy and when I got here they said they did not have gluten free options. I booked 6 months in advance to make sure they had gluten free options
Rooms were dingy and not very clean. Staff were mostly nice but there was one guy that was very rude and unhelpful. You could feel each individual spring on the beds - not comfortable at all. The rooms also aren't very well lit. The pillowcases had brown stains on them. Good location, and the pool is decent. We decided to cut our two night stay short and leave after the first night as we didn't want to spend another night at the hotel.
The hotel was nice the pool was good for the kids they enjoyed the stay. Good location close to McDonald's, A&W, Subway andBoston Pizza. The location was good not far from the attractions we would stay here again.
We love to stay at this hotel when we visit Drumheller. The staff are always friendly and professional. The room had everything we needed and was clean and fresh when we checked in. We had an issue with the water temperature but the reception staff member sorted this out to our satisfaction. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was well set out with plenty of choice. The pool was good especially for families There is a small outside space too. It's in a good location close to restaurants and shops. A short walk to downtown. We will definitely be returning.
We had a very upsetting experience with a staff member at the SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Drumheller. We got through our stay there. When we got home, I used the Best Western customer care option on the Best Western website to share our experience and concerns. No response from Best Western. I sent another note a few days later - still no response from Best Western. We would never go back to this hotel. Drumheller is a great place to visit - there are other hotel options and so I would steer clear of this place. Based on the way in which Best Western demonstrates its "customer care" I would also steer clear of any Best Western hotel.
In addition to the friendly staff we appreciated the signage at the breakfast indicating the sausage, bacon were gluten free and the availability of gluten free bread and a dedicated toaster. I have not seen this previously at a hotel and for our son who has a gluten allergy it was a feature that made his stay much more enjoyable. Well done!
We just came home from our holiday in Drumheller and it was one to remember. On the last night we had mine and my daughters birthday in the continental breakfast area (of course we asked first). The night manager came over with a gift for me and my daughter - how amazing!
Took our grandkids to drumheller to see dinosaurs and in the evening at the pool, hot tub. The morning breakfast was great! Clean, friendly place to stay! Located close to restaurants (walking), grocery store with deli and liquor store.
This is our second year coming to this hotel. The pool is great for the kids, and they are located 10 minutes from the museum. The staff is friendly and the hotel has ample parking. It is within walking distance to McDonald, A&W, and 5 minutes from Walmart. Great place to stay
The room was great and the staff were amazing. Will 100% return. The room was clean and very spacious for our large family, the breakfast was amazing and delicious. The pool was perfect as well.. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable
Room was small but beautiful clean and everything we needed! Very quiet on the third floor and we were in room 310. It was not ready at check in time but we were able to go with family until it was ready!
We had relatives visiting us from out of country and stayed here. I stayed on the 3rd floor with my daughter in a King suite it was nice and clean - dated but okay. The rest of the family stayed on the main floor and they found their rooms had a bad odor - we had 3 rooms on the main floor and they all had the smell, they likely need some updates. Manager was super nice and friendly. I know it's high season but I found the hotel a bit pricey for how dated it was - Breakfast was so crowded - it was raining so the outdoor space was not available - a plan should be in place for high season and breakfasts. Other than that it was an okay stay.
The staff was courteous and helpful. The room had all the amenities including a fridge, Keurig coffee machine and tv. We did find some dirt and a plastic cup on the floor behind the night table. We did not notify the staff when we saw it and forgot to tell them about it when we left. The hotel was close to a McDonalds and gas station. The hotel does offer a complimentary breakfast but we did not try it. Overall our room had everything we needed. For a budget concise family of four it was ok.
Thos a well loved property. Staff are very nice and do their best but appear under staffed during busy summer rush times. This is definitely fa.ilt friendly, good breakfast but very busy. This is sefinitely not for people who are doing business or are looking for quiet sleep in the evening.
Stayed here while in town for a vacation. Hotel is in a good location just off the main road. Check in for us was smooth, there were some other guests in the lobby that were waiting for their rooms to be ready (and were not please as it was right at check in time). We had a main floor room with outside access which was very handy. Room wasn't overly big but clean and comfortable. Pool area was nice, kids enjoyed the slide. Breakfast area is not overly large but there is outside seating available which was nice. It was very busy each time we were in it. All in all a nice stay. A few restaurants in walking distance as well.
So we stayed here for three days for a family vacation. I guess this hotel may be perfect for some people. It has a huge indoor water slide which is great for those who love to use it, but it cuts the pool in half and little ones get scared by the insane spray that it throws. The pool therefore is very crowded. My kids had fun, the rooms are comfortable enough but dated, it is not the cleanest. We requested an early check in and actually weren't even allowed to check in at the regular time as our room wasn't clean. They have a good breakfast included, better than most but not enough space to accommodate everyone there. Staff were pleasant and friendly. It is an older hotel, so dated and some things didn't work (ice machines, bathtub didn't drain, some old room smell when you arrive. Yet, it did have blackout curtains, really functional ac (it gets hot in drum) and it was pretty quiet.
Very friendly and helpful staff! Nice water park and located in the same parking lot as Boston Pizza and O'Shea's. Parking stalls right outside the back of your hotel room on the main floor make for easy loading. Loved our stay and would highly recommend!
We loved the room so much we wished we could have stayed longer. The room was very clean and inviting. The hotel was in a great location, close to grocery store and restaurants. Easy access from highway.
We found the rooms dated and filthy. The pullout couch had stains on the cushions and the sides of the bed and carpet were grimy. The staff weren't wearing masks like the description stated they would. Not worth almost $250 a night
Overall we had a great stay. The room was on the older side and the mattresses could use an upgrade but the rooms were clean. We arrived to the hotel for check in at 4pm but didn't get into our room until almost 530 as our rooms weren't cleaned yet. Staff was friendly however and pool was great for kids
Good location in town, but not directly in downtown, shops are about 5-10 min drive away. Museum about 10 min drive away. We got the two queen suite, comes with full kitchen and sofabed. Room was very spacious but recycling wasn't removed. Kitchen was handy but no scrubber to wash dishes with. Did not use pool but it had a water slide, and hot tub. Used the gym, it was small but had some weights and equipment. No cleaning wipes though so not sure how clean it was. Full breakfast had hot items as well as breads and cereals. Good selection but line up for waffles was long. Overall was satisfied with stay.
I do not recommend this hotel! The staff are very rude, and rooms are not ready at check in time and even when told you will get a discount for the inconvenience, they will go back on that and tell you that rooms can be ready anytime after 4pm. Hotel is run down, beds are uncomfortable and pool is over chlorinated but the hotel is conveniently located.
Comfortable stay and decent room, for a family of 4. The breakfast was satisfying. The pool was very fun, and a good temperature. There was a strong cigarette odour but we left the window open for the night and it was fine after.
Perfect hotel for a family stay. Clean, updated rooms, full breakfast, and pool with waterslide. Every staff member had a smile and hello for our young family. Price was reasonable, especially since it included breakfast. Close to a few fast food reataurants as well as sit down restaurants. Perfect central location! We stayed 5 days and didn't have any complaints!
I would not normally review a Best Western as you pretty much know what to expect, but this one was just what we needed. We stayed here in the middle (or a bit past) of a cross-Canada road trip. We stayed at every type of accommodation imaginable during the trip and this one hit the spot as much as any. It is not updated, but it is neat and clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They had onsite laundry facilities which we desperately needed. Best of all, we could walk across the parking lot for soft serve ice cream while the laundry was drying.
We have stayed here many times and they never disappoint. Staff is friendly, accommodating, and try to do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel is also conveniently located for access to restaurants and downtown. Rooms are clean and quiet.
My husband and I spent one night at SureStay plus hotel in drumheller with our two young kids. We really enjoyed our stay, the pool was lots of fun with other kids to play with. The room was clean and everything in the kitchenette/full kitchen was very clean. The breakfast had lots of got and cold options and was tasty. My only complaint was the overcrowding in the breakfast area and it not being big enough for the tables, people in the line ups to physically distance at all. I would definitely stay here again with my family
Our family stayed at the SureStay Best Western over the May long weekend. The hotel room was clean and the staff were nice. My kids enjoyed the pool. The hotel staff were so nice. We requested a play yard, an extra pillow and extra blankets for our room and they were able to deliver on all requests. The only downside was that they ran out of waffle mix at breakfast and it wasn't replenished. My kids were disappointed that they weren't able to have waffles. That said, I think the breakfast area was busier than anticipated and with the waffles being as delicious as they were they quickly got gobbled up. Otherwise we had a fantastic stay. The hotel is very family friendly.
With a pool with a waterslide, hot tub, and a great breakfast, this is a nice place to stay while seeing the Dinosaurs and Badlands. There is an awesome breakfast with lots of options as well. I think its a nice place to stay for families as lots of dining options outside the hotel are within walking distance.
The room is a 3 star but service bumped it up to 4! Kelsey was great with getting us out of a bind. My husband “thought” he booked it but didn't - she saved the day!! Everything was clean - just outdated - and I prefer all white linens. Breakfast was extremely crowded cause it was a very small area - thank goodness for the patio area. It was a Sunday morning… Regular hotel breakfast- the usuals.
Usually I stay at a different hotel when in Drumheller, but now that there's a Best Western here, I think this may be my new go-to place. We stayed on the main floor, so we had an outside door and could park right in front of our room, which was so great for constantly coming and going. Breakfast was good, and I really enjoyed that the waffle irons made four little waffles instead of one big waffle! My only gripe was that the hot water in the shower took forever to arrive, and the shower head had low water pressure. Pool was awesome, kids really enjoyed the water slide!
Easter week five family members stayed at this hotel and were able to stay in a room with three double beds--a perfect alternative to renting two rooms! The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. Additionally, the younger members really enjoyed the waterslide and pool and the continental breakfast had hot foods and coffee made as required by a very conscientious woman who staffed the breakfast room. Also, this hotel is a short walk to either Mcdonalds or Boston Pizza for food beyond breakfast. We plan to go back to Drum this summer and will definitely stay at this hotel again!
I found all the staff very good and helpful. They were able to accomodate a playpen for a small child 2 yrs to sleep in as their cribs were all pre booked. A idea would be to NOT forget about the little toddlers. and their needs. perhaps more cribs should be available?? at all hotels. .
Be faire warned - this hotel needs a HUGE makeover. Chipped paint, broken tiles, old carpet and bedding. There were private swimming lessons in the main pool that took up prime swimming space. The location is horrible - very run down/deserted. The only silver lining was an amazing waitress at breakfast.
We had to plunge our own toilet, there was hair in the bathtub, half of a toast under the bed and poo on the bathroom light switch. Although the water slide and breakfast was great, because of the gross room it was not a good experience.
This was our first trip to Drumheller AB. We took our grandkids to the Museum and other sites in and around Drumheller. This time of year not as much open but that didn't stop us. Late spring & summer would be awesome!
Had a great experience at the Sure Stay in Drumheller. The front desk staff went over the top to accommodate us. Jordan helped us take the bags to the room for us and recommended a great restaurant! would def stay there again!
Great place to stay, awesome pool, great breakfast! Great location, good restaurant close by. Easy to get to. Great staff, overall a very nice stay. The only negative is not the best bed's and pillow...
Good value compared to rest of drumheller. Loved the main floor rooms that have a direct door to outside. Like a motel and has a door to hallway inside. Great location. Busy on weekends fairly quiet thru the week
Staff were extremely professional and personable. The breakfast was excellent, the rooms were clean and the staff could not have been more accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I look forward to staying there again.
We enjoyed staying at this facility during a brief trip away from home for a weekend night. We especially appreciated the hot tub & pool and the breakfast selection. We experienced some very nice extra effort from some staff members.
My family & I stayed at Drumheller after a hockey game this past Friday & I am so happy we did. Hotel was clean, & pool was super fun for kids to enjoy while we enjoyed the hot tub haha! Staff were friendly & eager to help any way they could. Will definitely stay again!
I was happy with our stay at the SureStay Plus. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning had a wide selection. The kids enjoyed the pool. Overall we had a please stay in Drumheller.
Hotel was fine but internet was weak. Breakfast was good pets are allowed location was good pool was good but the shower at pool was icy cold. The kids had fun on the water slide and it was nice they didn't time limit your stay at the pool.
The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment you enter the doors till the time you leave. Customer service makes any stay more enjoyable... and the staff here are the best. Nice clean rooms, and THE BEST fluffiest hotel robes... the fireplace... just all of it was so enjoyable. My kids wanted to move there. :) highly recommended!
It has been a few years since my business has taken me to Drumheller and as a result my last visit did not have a Best Western. This visit I was able to stay at my hotel chain of choice wherever possible and found that this Best Western had some positives and a few issues that I found just did not meet my usual expectations. It may have had something to do with a retrofit as this property was previous a Super 8.
I stayed here for two nights over the Thanksgiving long weekend. It was a busy weekend for them, but you would not know it in terms of how well they provided services. The rooms were clean, the entire site was clean, the food in the breakfast area was fresh and temperature appropriate. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. My only real issue in terms of value is that the rooms were a little more pricey than I would have liked. Maybe $20-30 more per night than I would have liked but it was a long weekend with many people in town and so was the going rate. My room was one door away from the pool, and it was very loud there. It didn't bother me but it might bother others who sleep lighter. The pool hours are great, open early and open which is great if you want to swim but not so great if you are right beside trying to sleep in, so I would just recommend asking to be further away if that is an issue.
Drumheller is a small, quiet town. This hotel is central and the staff do an excellent job to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel is clean. Beds are a bit soft. The room is a good size. Just stayed for one night but felt it was a good choice for the area. Hotel is good for families with young children.
Staff are always friendly, providing great service. We stay at this hotel often. Breakfast is always good, with plenty of choice. Breakfast room is very small and overcrowding ocurrs during peak breakfast periods which goes against genertally accepted Covid protocols. Recommend an early breakfast to avoid peak periods.
Stayed here with my 13 year old son in Aug 2021 on a mini getaway from Calgary. It was extremely busy when we came. But room was spacious and clean with all required amenities. It smelt a bit musty but I just opened the windows. Also very loud at nighttime with rowdy families and car alarms going off in the parking lot - both things that the hotel doesn't have much control over. I used the gym - pretty good for a small hotel. We went down to breakfast at around 830am and we couldn't get a table and decided not to wait for hot food as it was so busy. We just took toast back to the room. Same with the pool - tried at 5pm again at 9am and both times it was a bit too busy to swim. Again, not the hotel's fault. Buffet breakfast looked good - bacon eggs bagels yoghurts etc. Our room had a king bed and a sofabed and air conditioning etc and I was pleased with the space. Its exactly as I expected from a motel in Drumheller :)
The whirlpool suite was awesome! So spacious. The shower has 2 shower heads with amazing water pressure. The staff were helpful. The bed was comfy. The mini fridge was an excellent size for a mini fridge. We had a large mixing bowl with leftover food in it and it fit in there easily.
Decent hotel, but unfortunately no COVID 19 measures were in place. No mask wearing, Dining area full of people, Swimming pool full of people. I would expect a hotel chain (Best Western) to follow safety measures during a global pandemic.
Friendly staffs. Stayed there for three nights. Checkin took a long time due to the shortage of staffs. Only one receptionist. Which I do understand doing this Covid time. Staffs friendly and rooms were clean. Can not expected like Fairmont but well maintained place to stay. Did not try swimming pool due to lots of people. I would stay again.
Check in was at 3 pm. We arrived at approx 5:45pm and the line to check in was approx 12 families long outside the main door. 45 minute wait to check in. Once we finally reached check in most of us were then informed that even though check in was hours prior that it would be at least another hour to get in our rooms as they were not fully staffed with cleaners and cited CoVid as rationale. The ladies at the front counter were pleasant and obviously trying their best, appears to be a lack of management issue
Awesome staff, great service, full breakfast included, hot and continential , microwave, sink , 3 beds, clean rooms, lots of towels. Location to this property have gas station, liquor store, 2 restaurants and bar, close to scenic route and park close by
Even when very busy and only one employee at the desk (Laura) we had great service. Very social, kind, all while working as hard as she can. Lots of breakfast options, all yummy! Clean rooms, fun pool
Not only did this hotel serve hot breakfast, the pool was opened with no restrictions and staff were all so kind. The room was so big and had a kitchen which I didn't expect. Hallways and elevators and parking were all great.
Signed posted indicating there was a shortage in staff due to covid. This lead to an unclean room at checkin, garbage weren't emptied and fresh towels weren't put out between nights. Wish we were told in advance that there were a staff shortage so we could either switch locations or come prepared for lower than normal service level. Very little changes to operations for covid which I found surprisingly. Wasn't expecting restrictions but a packed pool and a lot of congestion at the breakfast area are things that could have been considered.
Front desk staff seemed very disorganized, and check out staff was extremely rude. Our room wasn't ready, had to wait over 30 mins outside the room with all of our luggage. There wasn't any breakfast left at 9am, even though they said it went till 10am.
Stayed at this hotel in Drumheller with my family (2 rooms) for a one night stay on route to Saskatoon. Room felt very damp and smelt musty, like carpets were wet. The hotel pool was crowded and beyond hot. The breakfast in the morning was served by a very sweaty and runny nosed man and the layout to get your breakfast had people climbing over people. Will not every stay here again.
Not a negative experience, but nothing to set this property apart from the others in the area. A very Beige experience. Food staff could have been a bit more cautious in regards to Covid prevention (no masks, and handling food with bare hands) I realize restrictions have lifted, but consideration would have been great.
My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. The staff, beginning with Bonnie ( a most delightful manager), and all the rest of the staff that we encountered were very friendly, caring, and accommodating. For example, the breakfast room was very busy, yet the wonderful lady looking after it, despite the challenge of looking after so many guests, kept her smile and congenial attitude (very commendable). We truly enjoyed our stay there, and would choose this hotel for when we next visit.
We rented 3 rooms for our family of 13. Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The kids loved the pool and water slide. Breakfast was well organized and much better than we are accustomed to at hotels that include breakfast.
Very clean, suitable for families. It was very busy, but quiet at night. Great location—walking distance to restaurants, fast food, grocery store. Lots of attractions a short drive away. Every staff member I encountered was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay again.
Hotel was great, staff are friendly as ever and probably happy that business is back to usual.I enjoyed the coffee in the room. And even guests were friendly as you walked thru the building. I will return at a later date
Nice hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff and adequate breakfast. We requested to have our rooms close and they were....wished we could have a suite but hotel was full. Comfy beds & pillows...would stay again
We definitely made the most of our stay in the hotel! The breakfast was great & we were able to take the kids swimming each night we stayed. Towels were provided by the pool which was awesome! 2 of the adults in our group of 7 (3 adults and 4 kids) were able to use the internet to get school work and business done in the evenings when the kids were asleep. The location of the hotel was perfect too. Easy to find, access, and close to a lot of attractions. The staff were very friendly and attentive as well.
We really enjoyed our stay! Room was clean and comfortable, pool was great, breakfast was excellent, and it was pet friendly for our dog. The front staff were also very helpful and kind. Would definitely return again!
Nice size room, clean, friendly staff. A bit of a walk to downtown, but central to the hotel strip. Good value. Breakfast was a bag to go, but coffee was provided in room. Crisp cool sheets. Air conditioning worked well. Get a ground floor room to avoid the slow elevator.
To the good -- the front desk/reception and cleaning staff were all very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Concerns -- our room had an extremely noisy air-con, and air-con is a necessity in Drumheller! The air-con was also not functioning correctly and had only one level -- high -- working, plus the stop function did not work. I mentioned this to the front desk receptionist and she said someone would have a look; however, that did not happen. I was disappointed that no one got back to us on this, with even just an apology (since they were totally booked and probably could not have given us another room). The other concern was with what seemed to be overcapacity in the swimming pool.
Good Hotel, very convenient location. Very clean, Friendly helpful staff. close to downtown within walking distance. close to many different restaurants. Great place to stay. it was incredibly quiet during our stay, comfortable beds. Even dealing with Covid restrictions the breakfast provided was very good.
Great bang for your buck! Definitely would stay here again. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our breakfast needs, our coffee supplies, and helping us with local attractions, restaurants, and golf.
Amazing, and big covid breakfast! Swimming pool was amazing and the water slide was awesome, staff is friendly and helpful, room was clean and beds were really comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.
It was my daughter's 2nd birthday and they had a big balloon in the room waiting for us, it was very appreciated and thoughtful. We had a great time in the pool, the water slide was a highlight. We really enjoyed the breakfast to go, particularly the delicious banana bread. The hotel exceeded our expectations - thank you for making our stay so special.
Friendly and efficient staff upon checking in and out. Also very helpful when we requested anything. Our rooms and other areas of hotel were clean and pleasant atmosphere. Will surely stay here again.
We had a wonderful 1 night stay at the SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western in Drumheller. Just a little road trip to enjoy sights in the smaller towns in this and surrounding area. Drove to the Hoodoos and did a bit of climbing. Though this hotel is older and has changed names, it was well kept and the room was very clean and comfortable! We definitely enjoyed the upgrade to the Jacuzzi suite!!
It was my 4th stay there. Conveniently located in downtown, pet friendly, pool , hot tub and slide were amazing. Also the staff are really friendly to accommodate your stay fun n relaxing. There are always deals .
Staff and room were great. Just had a issue with housekeeping but over all good and great location. Staff dealt with issue and were very helpful. Would stay again if we needed to be in the area for business or leisure.
We got a family suite for a night and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of space. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms in the suite. Rooms are nice and clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!
We had just been to Watertown National Park. We stayed at Lethbridge and our stay there was very disappointing. When we were driving home we saw this motel decided to stop for one more night and hopefully get to go swimming and have a nice stay. We were not disappointed. From checking in to check out we were treated very good. They made sure we got all the discounts for our room and that we got our time in the pool. I recommend this motel for the service alone. The rooms were clean and spacious. We enjoyed our night here.
We had a great stay with our 3 kids at SureStay! The room was clean, staff were friendly and very helpful. The pool and water slide was a ton of fun for the kids. We live the surrounding hiking areas in Drumheller and this was a great place to stay for our mini family vacation.
This was by far the best experience my partner and I have ever had while travelling! Jordan was working and heard that We had just had the worst experience possible at another hotel in town and he did everything he could to fix our night & Valentine's Day!! The room was beautiful, breakfast was amazing despite new covid regulations and the bed was comfy and warm! We will definitely stay here again and even considered staying a few more nights before leaving it was so nice
Always a safe place to visit. Cleanliness and food prep precautions are always in place. Towels are exchanged as required w/o anyone in your room as we request in a multiday stay. The staff are always friendly and caring about your well being. We always enjoy our stays at this hotel.
The hotel is clean and comfortable with the usual welcoming features of a Best Western. Several good restaurants are within a five minute walk and it's central to mostly everything. Rooms are comfortable with fridges and coffee makers but during Covid, no room amenities are available. Hotel is doing a great job of making guests feel safe.
We went here during the partial covid lockdown in November. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the room was excellent (we had the multi room suite which was awesome). The hotel was fairly empty but they still made sure all services were available. Pool had a limit of 15 people, which was perfect. Breakfast was a self serve, everything individually wrapped, but better selection then most places during covid. Super friendly staff.
This was our third stay at the Drumheller Super 8. Six nights this time. Even though the covid situation has changed how they do things it was just as pleasant as ever. The beds and pillows are more comfortable than our own at home. Affordable for a family of six and in the middle of the best little town on Earth. I have no complaints at all. It's become our family's home away from home.
Stayed with our family (5 adults and 2 children). It was clean and the staff were very nice and kind! They were helpful with my questions, and took care of us. One of the two rooms we stayed in had a small smell when we first arrived, but it faded with time. All in all, a nice place to stay!
Free breakfast 5:30am to 9am.:Covid bagged breakfast option was great. frozen breakfast bagel(Just warm and eat)or muffins, yogurt, juice, granola bar, fruit, coffee, hot chocolate,tea.... The room and customer service: we had a friend book us a room with his Wyndham points. Since we had a horrible experience with the econo lodge the night before. Pre authorizing debit card without telling us and taking all our money and it is still on hold at bank.not impressed....anyways .super 8 rooms are very clean ,nice, and spacious.we ended up in a room with a kitchenette and an exterior door. The original room our friend booked was only a king bed and we have 2 kids.so the hotel switched us no problem...very friendly staff at front desk. Welcoming atmosphere.... Now the cost of a night is a little costly if on a budget ,and we got lucky to get get a free night and they didn't even ask for a credit card or deposit from us.....however if u want a headache free stay this is the place. The pool is nice .just enough for the kids. But due to covid has a limit of people...it was full first time in morning . Opened at 730am. But thats OK we understand. Kids waited there turn.. Would deff return. thanks super 8
To get the minor negative things out of the way, we weren't told about the Covid procedures when we checked in, such as what to do with dirty towels, or how to get coffee refills etc., but everytime I called down to the front desk, they were very pleasant and accommodating. The pool has a water slide, which is great but kind of blocks off being able to swim in half of the pool. Aside from those complaints, I would definitely stay here again. Room was clean and fairly modern. We didn't ask for one so maybe its standard, but there was a little kitchen area with a bar fridge, sink and some cupboards. We stayed for 3 nights so was nice to bring food to the room. Hotel was within walking distance to restaurants. Hallways and common areas were clean and quiet. The staff were pleasant and helpful. They were letting 25 people in the pool at a time, so had to go to the front desk to get a key and towels, hot tub was shut down for now. Since they couldn't do a buffet breakfast, we just went to the desk and they gave us a bagged breakfast and you could get a few extra items so there was fruit, yogurt, muffins, juice and granola bars. This place was perfect for what my family was looking for.
Friendly service, clean and comfortable rooms, great pool and waterside for the kids. Great value for a vacation stay! Location is central and quick access to many amenities and tourist attractions, very recommended !
