Resumen de la reserva
This hotel is a good stay if you are in town for 1-2 nights. I didn't like that the sink was outside the bathroom, but I see why they did it. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The hotel is located far east of the city but its direct connection to the Interstate makes it well placed.
Stayed here for one night with my wife. She accidentally left her wedding ring next to the coffee maker and once we realized we were 200 miles from there. Called the front desk and was told it wasn't there, which means one of the housekeepers had to of taken it.
Well kept facility. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and area was clean. Great price. Overall experience was excellent. Enjoyed the visit to Amarillo, passing through on the way home. I would certainly stay again when visiting again.
From driving up to a freshly painted property, and upon entering the newly remodeled lobby it was obvious that things were different from any pre previous stays. Room and even the hallway were redecorated and welcoming. Stayed at this property several years ago. No complaints then, but what a pleasant surprise!
Not for disabled people. This place is strictly passing thru clientel. Hard walking up and down stairs, to get keys programmed, when they should have been. No elevator, front desk is really not helpful, doesnt care. Small place, party atmosphere.
The room and bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. All amenities worked. The breakfast was cooked thoroughly and hot. The hall carpet was clean and smelled good. Checking in and out was a breeze. Right off I40. Easy on and off. Highly recommend this hotel.
This is a Gem of a Hotel. I pulled in on 2 July 24 and my Transmission went out on me. Kenna at the Front desk went well and above helping me sort out many of the problems associated with a stranded traveler Getting in touch with a repair company, helping me set up Door Dask for food (this hotel is in more of a commercial area just off I-40). And just being a sympathetic ear while this old Boomer ties to figure out new Technology -loading Door Dash. Dealing with the Manager the next morning was very pleasant when I had to stay a little later then normal checkout she was understanding and reassuring of my plight making my wait for my Granddaughter to arrive from Albuquerque less stressfull. Thank You to All the Staff and especially Kenna. Well Done. Al Schrantz Rio Rancho, NM
VERY pleased. Have already recommended this motel. Expect to stay here again. We enjoyed the quiet, cool, clean room. Breakfast was great. Staff was terrific.
The staff members were exceptional. The hotel is just off I-40 so was easy off/on. Ample parking. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was good with a nice variety. Will definitely stay here again.
Rooms were clean and even though it was close to freeway, it was very quiet. BREAKFAST had a wide variety of choices for food. Not all carbs like a lot of hotels since covid
This BW offers a bit more with coffee, infused ice water and fresh popcorn available in the evening. They have way better than average breakfast. Room cleanliness, comfort, and amenities are top notch. Why not put this BW on the top of your list? Desk clerk @ check-in was droll and uninviting. Hotel itself is uninviting. Narrow entryway to property is directly off I-40 and there is nothing around there for a traveller - nothing. It'd be OK for an overnight stay if the price was better.
Nice, recently renovated hotel right off I-40. Big, but, there is no elevator, so if you get a second floor room, your have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs. Beware. If that does not bother you, it is a great room.
Great place to stay. Room was nice size, clean and newly renovated. Parking was easy, the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Usually the rooms for people with dogs aren't as nice as the other rooms in a hotel, but that wasn't the case here. The omelette I had for breakfast was made to order and was delicious. But best of all were the very friendly and kind staff. Only problem was I couldn't take a bath because a drain stopper that fit wasn't available.
My husband and I booked a room here after seeing the great reviews. From our phone call with Amber (huge shout out - she was friendly, informative and caring - even asked if we'd had dinner yet and suggested several restaurants noting her personal favorites -just the perfect beginning to our stay) to check out was great. Room was clean, comfortable bed, and really nice hot breakfast (eggs appear to be powder eggs but a lot of hotels do this). So glad we booked a room here. Will stay here again anytime we're in Amarillo.
Clean. Comfortable bed. Comfortable pillows. Refrigerator with freezer. Bri, on the front desk, is exceptionally warm and welcoming. She creates a wonderful first impression. We make a number of coast to coast trips and this is our go to spot in Amarillo.
The breakfast burrito made by Amy was fantastic. My husband ate 3 of them. And Nina had the best biscuits and gravy. Nina and Amy talked with us during breakfast and were truly very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and the ac worked great.
I had not stayed in a Best Western in years and was pleased with the hotel. It was clean and well appointed. The room was large and comfortable. The bedding was comfortable and there was several choices of pillows on the king bed. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Chey at the desk had popcorn and cookies for us showed us how to work tv find our shows all around kindness breakfast great green chili burros made by Martha. The staff were all nice and got along with each other. We will be back. Thanks great breakfast, really good, good bed we slept great
Comfortable, clean and decent breakfast. Check in was easy and fast, bed was very comfortable, rooms were clean and didn't smell stale. Breakfast was good for something quick, I'd like to see more choices or more hot items than were offered.
This is a great stay all around. Beds are nice pillows are nice, shower is oh so nice with great water pressure. The rooms are clean, no hairs in bathroom. The night gal was great the morning gal Sandra was great. The house keepers were great. The breakfast, Texas shaped waffles, eggs , yogurt, sausage, Gravey and biscuits, fruits can't name it all. Kids had a good experience also. Stay if you can
We came here to start our Spring Break. The breakfast Dina provided was amazing!!!! There were so many choices, and her homemade biscuits and gravy was the best! Great experience. Thank you! The hotel room nice and clean, the beds comfortable. We will stay here again.
The room was clean and the service was beyond excellent. Perfect place to stop with our family while passing through. The staff went above and beyond and even had special treat boxes for the kids. We would def stay here again when we are in the area.
The place is nice and clean, and also accommodating to pets! (Not something you always see at the same time) The front desk lady Sandra is super sweet. Plus, 24/7 snacks! Everything you could ask for as a solo road tripper crossing the country
Best Western Santa Fe, Amarillo TX, I would like to say this place was Amazing....I had a mechanical issue with my work truck so my work put me at this hotel in January 2024, Everyone there from the Ladies at the front desk to the security personnel were so nice and so polite and so help.... Sandra really took good care of me found me a ride from the dealership to the hotel, helped me with several other issues that came up during my stay Also this place has great security personnel thanks JB...... I would highly recommend this place to anyone it's clean, safe, modern, secure, and the people are the best.........
Checked in late around 10pm. check-in was fast and efficient. room was good size, but didn't even turn on the tv for i had bee driving for about 14 hours. breakfast was great, provided all that you might want. Check-out was as fast, friendly and efficient as check-in had been. Will be adding this as one of my favorite places to stay as I travel between Michigan and Arizona
Exceptional service with exceptional rooms. Truly clean, comfortable, and dog friendly with courteous and helpful staff. Sandra took excellent care of us from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. We WILL be back. This is the absolute best hotel. Thank you so much!
Super clean property! In addition to clean rooms & common areas it was nice that they had cookies & popcorn available as quick snack upon check-in. Full breakfast options & loved that they had stevia available too! You can tell management & employees take pride in this property!
In my opinion, the best place to stay in Amarillo!, Comfortable, clean, newly renovated, hot breakfast, friendly staff. I really like that I can book on line or on the phone, then they send me a key code, I don't have to go to the front desk and wait in line. AWESOME!!!
Pros: Very outgoing and nice lady (Dina was her name I believe) serving at the breakfast bar, comfortable bed, clean, heater in the bathroom, we got a discount. Cons: No ice in the upstairs ice machine, traffic noise was very loud. Overall a place I would stay again - with earplugs.
My family and I were driving in from Phoenix, Arizona to Nashville. Sandra checked us in and made the process easy. In the morning. Martha was working in the kitchen and was amazing. Dina was helpful.
Wonderful room, nice sized and very clean. Fabulous free breakfast with eggs, bacon, biscuits, and even cinnamon roll waffles! Chobani flip yogurts. Lots of fruit. Nice pool. Near good restaurants and easy access. Very nice.
It was late at night and my granddaughter and I pulled in. Outside was lit nicely so we felt safe. Upon entering I was greeted by 2 ladies. It was shift change but the one leaving jumped right in and signed us up. She even introduced us to the next shift lady. They were so friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were awesome. The next morning when we entered the lobby for breakfast the lady welcomed us and showed us all of the breakfast choices. Never had that many choices before! It was great...something for everyone. They even had "grab and go bags" and even though we ate breakfast, she made sure we took on with us for our trip! This is listed as a 2 star hotel, definitely way off on that one...I give them a 6!!! Thanks for a great stay and great memories too!
We had an emergency stopover here and it was a good experience. Lots of nice snacks and breakfast items. The room was pretty clean and had a medium sized fridge (the freezer didn't freeze well). The bed was more on the firm side and the blankets weren't the smoothest (the tan fleece blanket in-between the sheet and top comforter looked a bit old). The ladies at the desk were very nice. The laundry machine was unfortunately out of service.
The hotel is extremely nice, wonderful decor, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Was easy to get a good night sleep, felt safe and secure. Hotel isn't far from the famous "Big Texas Steak Ranch" which is an awesome place to eat. Breakfast was outstanding at this hotel, with many options to choose from. Dina the breakfast host, really tries hard to make her breakfast guests happy! The whole staff were very helpful and kind.
BW has improved SO MUCH over the past few years. This is a great hotel east side on the way out of town. Exit 73. New. Room Excellant. Free Breakfast good. Clean Freiendly staff. Plenty of restaturants nearby.
My wife and I and another couple made a quick trip to watch the play "Texas" and we stayed here because of some of the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed! The rooms were clean and AC worked great, but the staff is what sets this off from some others that I've stayed at. Dina at the front desk was courteous and helpful and the breakfast was all I could have asked for. Eggs, bacon, biscuits, waffles...etc. The place was kept clean and stocked. If I head that way again, I plan on staying here. Also, another nice touch was that a phone charger was left in the room and even before we got home, they called and the cleaning staff had found it and turned it in. Just another reason to like this place! Honest, hard working staff!
My wife and I are on a cross country road trip and stopped for the night/am. It's a nice small hotel. Spacious room. The best part was the incredibly friendly staff, especially for Dina who ran the breakfast. Phenomenally attentive, helpful. Food was fresh
From the moment I checked in until checkout I was pleased. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the room was clean and quiet, there was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The staff (Amber, Chey, Dina) were welcoming and helpful. As I single woman traveling alone and arriving late I felt very safe. The parking lot was well lit and there was a security guard keeping an eye on things which put me at ease because my car was full of my belongings. They welcomed my dog with a minimal pet deposit. I would 100% stay here again.
This hotel was our 2nd night stop on a very long road trip. Very pleased upon arrival - first we were recognized as Diamon Select Rewards members and given water. We were so impressed that this BW offered popcorn, cookies, flavored water and coffee in the lobby of the evenings - not many BW do that much offerings. The front desk staff I believe her name was Barbara? gave a great location for us to dine at that evening -I asked for a place that locals go and she sent us to a close by restaurant that her info was spot on. Our room was very comfortable and roomy. Very clean - no issues. Check out was very easy as well The one thing I will note - this hotel entrance is literally at the end of a ramp off I-40 and an intersecting road which makes it a little tricky to turn into the lobby area - you can drive a little below it and get turned around in the parking area for an easier entrance. Would recommend this location.
Dina at the front desk is very sweet and friendly to everyone calling or coming in. The breakfast is so good. Rooms are very clean. The pool was perfect. Everything was great! Even made a few new friends while I was there. :)
Right off the interstate. Had big space in back of hotel for larger trucks or trailer parking with a night shift security guard actually back there helping people back in and watching vehicles. No elevator so if you can't do stairs request first floor. Overall clean and super helpful staff. Pet friendly too.
Checked in today. Sandra was so kind and welcoming! She gave us 2 bottles of chilled water (I'm a gold rewards member) and said there are snacks available at all times in the lobby to enjoy (including popcorn with flavored seasonings to add!). Sandra made sure we had a room that isn't used for pets since my daughter is allergic and we found the room to be very clean when we got here. Thanks Sandra!
This little hotel is a delight. Very clean, happy and welcoming staff. It is clear this hotel has been updates more recently and it show. We were located on the second floor in the back. It was very quite. A full breakfast with eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. We will definitely stop here again.
This hotel is our go to stop when around Amarillo, TX. It is pet friendly and the staff is the best. Breakfast at this hotel is always good and the burritos are our favorite. The breakfast area is always stocked and clean.
Had to grab a quick stay due to a flight cancellation. Rooms were nice and clean. Front desk staff were OUTSTANDING. We had to leave too early for breakfast so they hooked us up with grab & go bags which was a very nice touch.
We stay at Best Western Santa Fe, Amarillo TX at least 4 times a year. From check in to check out you cannot beat the service. Staff is GREAT. Location is very good. Hotel and grounds are always well kept and maintained. Any previous stay issues or items are always addressed and not an issue for the next stay.
They accommodated my pups amazingly. The room was spacious and my dogs were so happy to have room to play and stretch out after a long car ride. The bed for comfortable and helped me relax after a long travel day.
Stayed one night going and one night coming back from our trip to Decatur. Nice hotel, pet friendly. Very clean. Desk personnel very friendly. Easy access, as it is right off of I40. we were able to get same room on way back. 3 exits from "The Big Texan"....a great steak place to eat. Decor was an old western saloon and town. Great food. A fun place to walk around.
Clean rooms, & a FEW pet friendly rooms with outdoor space for them to relieve themselves. The rooms by outside doors can be noisy with people talking loudly outside the windows as they come & go. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast had a lot of choices to accommodate special diets.
This facility is located just off the interstate, so there is a bit of road noise. Truck parking in the rear leaves a little to be desired as you can hear the trucks and they track mud into the guest parking area. The property could use a deep cleaning
Conveniently located just off the interstate. Large clean, quiet rooms. Friendly staff We stayed at this property both going out and coming back from our trip. There are quite a few restaurants within short a short drive of the hotel. The hotel offers breakfast in the morning, there really wasn't much to choose from. We'd consider staying here again if we passed through the area.
On the main interstate so very noisy. Lovely cookies and popcorn in lobby. On the outskirts of town in the middle of nowhere but not an issue as no plans to do much in Amarillo anyway. Fan in bathroom a bit noisy and would prefer sink to be in enclosed area of bathroom rather than main sleeping area. Easy to find. Room very clean, fresh smelling and spacious. Had microwave and fridge and very good heating/AC - needed heating as it was snowing! Very good value for money. Parking - free.
Even though the area of town looked run down - this place was clean, quiet, great staff - a wonderful place to stay. The staff was wonderful - fresh popcorn and cookies waiting for you on check in - bottled water in the room - very very nice!
We have stayed at lots of different hotels during our month around out west lots of them were BW. Some just average and some above this one was above with all the little touches like cookies and popcorn whenever you wanted. Breakfast was stocked well and the tea selection amazing
Hospitality. Kindness. Coffee and treats available all day. Clean and comfortable rooms. WiFi that works splendidly. Breakfast that is extensive and delicious. Perfect. Every aspect of my stay was marvelous. Can't wait to return.
The hotel is very clean and staff are wonderful. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. As soon as we arrived we were offered cookies, popcorn and drinks. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of things to choose from. We will stay again when in the area !
Check in was very easy. We had a nice young lady take care of three couples. Kind and professional. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet. Nice breakfast with several options including sausage, gravy, biscuits, scrambled eggs and waffles!!!!!
Four seniors stayed here two nights and it is a wonderful hotel. Great breakfast: sausage gravy and homemade biscuits, sausage and eggs, breakfast burritos, make your own waffle, and the other usual coffee, juice, packaged oatmeal, etc. The rooms were large, the front desk, super helpful, the cleaning staff terrific. It lost one star from me because their washing machine was broken. We are traveling Route 66, and stopping every 5th day to do laundry. We had planned on doing our laundry during our two day stay over. We had to find a laundromat to do our laundry. But that didn't stop us from loving this hotel.
My daughter and I checked into our BW room at nearly midnight and didn't realize until almost 4:00 am that there was dog hair on the pillows UNDER the pillowcases, food crumbs and stains from the prior guests meal who knows how many nights ago as well as dirty marks on the filleted & flat sheet, coverlet and blue blanket between that and the flat sheet. Long and short human hair. I have never been more disgusted with hotel bedding and this was mine and my daughters fifth night of hotels as we traveled halfway across the country. When we brought it to the desk staffs attention they were old me to send an email with photos to the email address on the business card that was sitting on the counter facing me… I was TOLD to “grab that card in front of you” which she never looked at and Shane on me that I took her at her word because there was NO email address on it. When I called the desk I was given an address that was undeliverable due to non existent address… I called the desk AGAIN and was finally given the correct address. Not one of the two desk staff apologized, offered to even hand me clean sheets or said they would take care of it for me and would have the manager call me in the morning when he arrived. I was thinking old the manager will be in SOMETIME around 7:00 or maybe 7:30. This was the most awful hotel experience o have ever encountered and the BW I stayed in two nights before that maid staff just let herself in our room unannounced at 8:30 am and I was in nothing but my underwear. At least at that location which was in another state bent over backwards for me and made what I thought was the worst experience until this locations adult s*%t show made an encore presentation that exceeded any nightmare possible. The sheer lack of professionalism at BW Santa Fe
The hotel was clean and everything was in excellent working order. The location just off the freeway with nearby fuel stations was perfect. Easy access to The Big Texan for a great meal and great show when there are Challengers for the Big Texan Steak Challenge.
Jennifer was very professional and helpful when I called to get a room for the night. She even went out of her way to look up how far the distance was to the hotel. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Always enjoy staying at best western hotels.
Wonderful BW ! Yummy Fresh cookies, hot breakfast, waffle maker, exceptionally clean and spacious rooms. Dog friendly with an area for dog, waste and bag. Friendly employees. Comfortable bed with cozy pillows.
It was a very nice place and helpful staff. The freeway signs needs to be changed so it is easier to get to the hotel. The breakfast burrito was really good and tasty. I would highly recommend this place for a nice overnight stay.
118 is a quiet, pet friendly room. Very clean. Bed and pillows were clean and new. Gentlemen who work at front desk and at breakfast are both most accommodating. Ladies at check in were not overly welcoming, but I did get lower level and pet room. These are very limited. Pet area is clean and grassy. Great stop for weary travelers. Our 3 or 4th stop between TX and New Mexico. We will return.
Had a wonderful stay and Amy the front desk clerk went above and beyond helping us fix our Rewards membership. Will stay again the next time we are in the area. Breakfast was great with lots of options and the pool was clean.
July-2022 I've stayed in numerous Best Westerns across the US and I'd put this one in my top 5. Good location right off I-40 E. Not very noisy at night considering the hotel is next to the highway. My room was towards the rear of the hotel. Little tricky to enter the parking lot but I did okay. Good hot & cold breakfast selection. Nice clean rooms. No musty smell or bugs. Loads of local places to eat. Being a guest that likes a good pool, this one had one of the best. It's outdoors and truly heated. Good for doing laps in. The one thing that was a bit of a pain and it just wasn't this hotel but most BW's I've stayed in. Sometimes the internet wifi connection is so slow to establish, especially with Apple products using VPN's & Anti Virus programs. All BW's needs to improve in this area. All in all, I would stay here again. Also the sunrise was eye-catching.
Checkin was great. They even had some cookies! Room was nice and clean Bed was comfortable Very quite. Didn't hear a peep. Shower was amazing…lots of water pressure. Breakfast was good…nice selection. Don't see biscuits and gravy often, but they had it!
WE stopped on our way home from a family reunion and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with a microwave, refrigerator, sofa, desk, and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
Not the best and certainly not the worst. It's exactly what you would expect for a side of interstate Best Western. Clean room and mostly friendly staff(there's always one). Good breakfast. Facilities are all well maintained and landscaping is trash free.
I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is RIGHT off the interstate. It was clean, quiet and very well managed. The staff were extremely kind. The ladies who were doing breakfast and managing the check in/off desk made my daughter a to go box filled with goodies to take with her on our travels. This hotel is pet friendly. One of the best places I have ever stayed.
I was shocked after checking in when we were looking for the elevator & were told there was none. We were traveling through & had to carry a car load of luggage upstairs after driving all day. I looked on the website & could not find a place where no elevator was listed. We did see a maintenance room which appeared to be the size of an elevator entry so perhaps it broke & they had it removed.
We stay at this motel every two weeks and they do what they can to help us with what we need one of the down to earth motels to stay at, had amazing breakfast and pool,if they could let us use their car they would
Close to I40 yet quiet. (Our room was on south side of building, opposite interstate highway.) Checkin was quick. Room was comfortable with standard amenities. Pool was not available on day we arrived because of storm. Then, next day, we were told that pool was not available until next week. (We saw pool maintenance folks at pool during breakfast.) Very disappointing. Lobby/breakfast area was quite small with no outside area to move to. (Half dozen tables.)
Stayed here one night on trip from New Mexico to Missouri. Room was large, with microwave and refrigerator. Hotel had exceptionally good full breakfast. Everything comfortable and clean. Only negative for me is that windows could not be opened. Convenient to major highway. Would stay again.
Best Western Santa Fe, in Amarillo TX, was a very nice BW stay. It was close to our last stop on a 14 day driving vacation, and it did not disappoint! Try to make sure Martha is still preparing the breakfasts . . . Her work was very much appreciated.
Very nice hotel with all the amenities. Staff was very friendly. The fitness center and the lobby were very warm, but the rooms were fine. My only complaint is that the hotel should make the lobby and the fitness center more comfortable for the clients.
For a stop over to sleep, a very clean and comfortable room with nice quality bedding and mattress. Check in was easy with a nice staff. Although it was right along the interstate, the room was very quiet.
It was a perfectly adequate hotel while on the road with our dog. We were close to restaurants and gas stations to have dinner, fill up car and rest before another day on the road. Room was clean and quiet. It is in Frontage Rd to I-40 so easy on and off.
The room was OK... far from how the rooms in Best Western used to be. Where are the blankets in Best Western hotels? They seem to be non-existent as of late. Breakfasts are carton eggs, undercooked sausage and the only good thing is the waffles you can make yourself. At least they are fresh!!!
I would recommend anyone to stay at the Best Western In Amarillo!! I stay there every week and always receive excellent service!! The rooms are comfortable and they offer a hot breakfast in the mornings that are always good!! Great place to stay and always excellent service!!
If you need a first floor room due to mobility issues, this is NOT the hotel for you. They have no elevator, but the website doesn't tell you that. I got reassigned to a first floor room BUT at a higher rate.
Hotel is conveniently located to I-40. Plenty of restaurant options near by along with gas and most anything else you need. Quiet location and the hotel is very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Had a long two day driving trip and stayed overnight with my dog. The hotel property and parking lot are well maintained and spotless. Spacious rooms are renovated and nicely appointed. Parking lot is well lit. Good selection of hot and cold breakfast items. Very easy on and off access to the highway when I went to visit friends in town. There was a charge for my dog, but it was worth it to be able to have her in the room with me. There are a lot of bad hotels in this area, so don't settle for anything else. Great value for a very reasonable price.
Cookies on arrival. Friendly staff from check-in to breakfast and everyone in-between. Great, actual breakfast items! Waffle, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, grab and go sausage biscuits, fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal, 5 different coffee creamers, juice, too much to list. Quiet flushing toilet for those night time visits. Huge TV channel selection. Beds comfy. Effective air conditioning, hot water, good water pressure. Literally nothing wrong with this hotel.
We stayed here once again while driving cross country. One of the nicer Best Westerns we have been to. It was impeccably clean and neat. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable. The breakfast offered a lot of choices. This remains one of our go-to motels.
My wife and I enjoyed a night's stay at Best Western Santa Fe while en route from Tucson AZ to central Wisconsin. Summary: Checkin: easy and efficient with kind front desk staff Room: king bed was comfortable and clean, bathroom in good repair, plenty of hot water for morning shower, a bit of noise from guest in room directly above - but not bad Breakfast: waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, fresh fruit, pastries
Quick summary: beds and pillows are comfortable; Good amenities like microwave, fridge, etc. Unfortunately, the non-smoking room smelled of smoke. The fan in the bathroom was obnoxiously loud. Would stay here again if they fixed these things (and some other minor items,) but not before the do.The internet went out in the morning. The excellent hot breakfast raised this hotel rating to "average." We stayed one night in a room with two comfy queen beds with good pillows. There were all the nice amenities we have come to expect from BW: fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron/board, set of drawers, closet, good desk/chair, etc. Unfortunately, the room smelled of smoke in a non-smoking hotel. Other than this faint, lingering odor, the room was very clean and well-kept. The bathroom had some real issues. The fan automatically came on when the light was turned on, and was obnoxiously loud. If you wanted some privacy with the door closed, your choice was total darkness or a headache-inducing fan. There was a combo tub/shower, and I love having a bathtub at the end of a long day. I applaud having toiletries mounted on the wall and saving the packaging for eco reasons, but the dispensers were mounted too high for someone taking a bath - perfect for someone standing in a shower. (Standing up and down in a wet tub - a litigator's dream.) Toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, small bottle of lotion on the spacious sink counter. While they are at it, the thin towels are due for replacement. Oh - and the faucet temperatures in the shower are reversed - the hot water comes out of the cold side, and vice versa. Excellent hot breakfast buffet: eggs, sausage, delish potatoes with onions, sausage, peppers, & onions, cereals, yogurt, breads, coffee, etc. Friendly, professional service throughout. To sum: the hotel was a real mix of good and not-so-good. Very good sleep quality and breakfast. The bathroom needs a good overall,, but was still spotlessly clean. This was a real disappointment as we are diamond club members at BW - we usually expect better.
I was really impressed with this Best Western Santa Fe. Beautiful lobby. Brusley was so nice at check in. My room was very clean with nice carpet and pretty colors. The breakfast was fantastic. Everything you would want for breakfast. Clean!
Conveniently located off I-40. Easy to miss heading east off freeway if you're going too fast. Gas stations are conveniently located enroute back to freeway from the hotel. One of the cleanest Best Western's we have stayed at ever. The staff were very friendly. The price can't be beat. We had pizza delivered from the locally advertised place and it was excellent. Breakfast was warm and they offered coffee blend choices, along with variety of sweeteners and creamers; and to me that is a MUST have!
We stayed at this hotel going on our trip and again when coming back. We were impressed with all they do to keep their facilities clean and disinfected. After rooms are thoroughly cleaned, they are not rented out for 24-72 hours. The staff was friendly and more than willing to help. The room was very comfortable , as was the bed, and the hotel is close to several good restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel from time to time over the past 20 years. It has been recently renovated, or so it seems. It is very convenient to reach from I40 and the employees are always nice and polite. The rooms are big and little noise can be heard. I will be returning to this location in the spring of 2022.
No restaurant near the hotel. One way service road to access the hotel. Excellent Italian restaurant La Bella Pizza On Olsen provided delivery for $6. Excellent 2 choices of cookies & coffee welcome snack.
First time I see a hotel with morning breakfast after COVID they have excellent rooms the beds looks very good and I see the housekeeping carts very clean and full of what they need to clean the room if I pass by amarillo again I definitely will stay again
Very new hotel. I was really pleased with my stay. Reasonable price. Room was large, clean and very tidy. Front desk service was excellent. Hot breakfast buffet included. I had my dog with me and they put me in a nice room - not some place "out back". I definitely recommend this place.
We stayed at the Best Western Santa Fe one night, traveling from Utah to Alabama. Jose welcomed us warmly upon arrival. We even arrived to homemade chocolate chip cookies in the lobby. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is near the interstate but we could not hear any traffic from our room. Breakfast was great, with hot and cold options! The breakfast area is small, we were amazed at how organized and how many breakfast options there were. We have no complaints and would definitely stay here again! (PS... this is a 2 story hotel and there are no elevators).
Wonderful experience. Best hotel experience I have ever had. I would stay here again without hesitation. I will definitely refer everyone I know to this hotel. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenonal.
New, thick mattresses with big pillows; very comfortable. Clean, upgraded rooms. Full hot breakfast with real eggs, sausage and hot waffles. Breakfast sandwiches for those on the go. Friendly, professional staff.
Recently we stayed at the Best Western Santa Fe in Amarillo. We were impressed with the service and facility especially the blackout curtains and comfortable bed. However, it was what happened after we left that impressed us the most. I accidentally left my appointment book behind at the hotel. I called and spoke to Jose. He quickly located my appointment book and sent it by FedEx to me. So, what I can tell you is this is a place where they will go the "extra mile" to help you out. I really believe that if you have any kind of extenuating circumstances, they will try to help you out too. We look forward to staying with you again as we travel from Texas to Colorado. Thank you, Jose!!!
We loved our stay at Best Western Santa Fe. Being pet friendly was important to us. However, the staff, room, breakfast -- everything was just right. We stayed there on our way to Santa Fe and back. There was a mistake on the billing for the first stay but the manager quickly corrected things. We will stay there again on our next trip to Santa Fe.
An excellent place to come to a stop when traveling on the road from Gulf Shores to Denver. Found everything to be one of the best BestWestern services that I've encountered over the past years. Try it out and you won't be sorry. CEH
The hotel is a jewel located on the eastside of town, perfect if you have business downtown. It offers room cleaning everyday and a hot breakfast - almost none existent with Covid-19. All of the staff were nice and helpful. The outdoor pool was spotless and perfectly maintained. My new go to hotel while on business.
Breakfast had more selections of food then any of the past hotels we've stayed at. My wife and son even enjoy swimming in the well taken care of pool. It was also nice to have a hotel that offered a washer and dryer for us to use.
This is a very nice BW. Everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. Quiet. We actually slept longer than we intended. The breakfast was good. The breakfast burritos were good and a nice change. The only thing I would change is the TV. It's rather small.
I stayed one night here on a recent trip from Colorado to Texas but my search for a decent hotel in Amarillo continues. The location is convenient to the interstate (but note that if you follow GPS, the turn off to the hotel from the frontage road is immediately past the offramp and is easy to miss.) There really is nothing to recommend this hotel other than the breakfast. Front desk staff was indifferent, hair dryer didn't work, I wasn't able to connect to wifi, there aren't enough plugs in the room, and the area looked overgrown and weedy. Even after calling the front desk for a hair dryer, I had to go downstairs to try and round one up. They couldn't find one but after some prompting went upstairs to a second supply room to find one. Meanwhile other staff were doodling on paper while people were waiting for help. The breakfast was pretty good given the price of the hotel and the cleaning staff was very friendly. I won't bother staying here again though. I may start looking in nearby Dumas or Borger for a friendly, budget hotel when passing through the area.
From reservation with Kylie, friendly accommodating check in, spotless room, grassy and clean pet area.....this was a great stay. The hotel hallways are clean and very quiet. Room 120 is an easy in and out for our pets. You do not hear noises from road, hall, or overhead. Bed and mattress were wonderful. All the great reviews were most accurate. Breakfast area is very small, so we took ours to the room. Covid measures were some of the safest we have experienced. Highly recommend! Thank you, Best Western Santa Fe!!!!
This hotel checked off many of our boxes. Check in with Kiley, who was kind, pleasant and very helpful in recommendations for places to eat, that would have outdoor seating. The room was spacious, decorated in shades of gray with black accents. The bathroom was large and very clean. The bed was comfortable with nice pillows. The full breakfast offered many choices, including pumpkin spice waffles! For those on the go, there were nice "to go" bags made up. Jose, checked us out and again a very nice person to see in the morning.
This was amazing hotel right off hwy. We travel all the time and around the world and I am travel agent so very critical. I was concerned as we paid alot less but just for night It was all very new looking with upgrades and super clean. Beds amazing all supplies provided and refrig and microwave. Towels were so soft. Better than most expensive high end hotels. We have paid over $200 a night for hotel and not have the quality we experienced last night. Breakfast was included real eggs and all the fixings. This is the hotel to use if needed in Amarillo.
Exceptional hotel couldn't ask for better treatment the rooms are very clean and organized I drive a truck and the have semi parking and usually find me a room close to my truck very helpful for all your needs
Excellent service great breakfast. STAFF FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ! My wife left her purse in breakfast area and staff found it and returned it to us. They wouldn't ACCEPT any reward …..!!!! They also helped me find a Resturant since it was Sunday night and not many open. GGraham
Dumpy place. They allow dogs— great—but not a blade of grass in sight to walk your dog. You are literally at the end of the I-40 offramp, so it's just a place to get off the freeway, sleep, and go away in the morning. The redeeming quality: the breakfast burrito on the morning. YUM.
Nice hotel but not in a nice neighborhood and it had no elevator so we had to lug everything up 2 flights of stairs. It was close to the GMC dealer we needed and close to The Big Texan Steakhouse. A lot of u-turns getting on and off the highway to your destination.
Great stop between Tucson And St Louis, Nice clean and quiet hotel, no issues and will stay again when travelling from Arizona to Missouri. Did not use any amenities during our short stay. Good value.
Travel was from Louisiana to California with a trip in between to Las Vegas. Did not hesitate to call ahead from Kingman, Arizona to reserve a room in Henderson. Same results! Solidified our choice for motel stays on the return to Louisiana.
This is an older property. However, It has been remodeled. Our room was comfortable and clean. The area is in a more industrial part of town, but we had no problems and felt safe. Courteous staff. We will stay again
This was our second stay in the nine months at this hotel and once again we had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Santa Fe. We were traveling with pets again and were pleased to have a room with access close to an exit where we did not have to go through the lobby with our pets. The room was clean and comfortable and the wifi worked well. The hotel staff members we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. The overall grounds of the hotel were well kept and there was a nice small grass area for the dogs that included bags and trash cans. Special Note: It was much appreciated and extremely helpful that rooms were marked as pet friendly in the Best Western reservation tool/app, making it especially easy to book the right type of room without having to make calls to the hotel.
Met and exceeded my expectations on cleanliness, size and friendly helpful staff! I will stay here again if I am ever in the area. Internet was great as well and the cable service had good channels as well!
The room sits on the corner of two hallways and has the back door right by its window. The noise level from workers coming in and out is outrageous!!! The shampoo and body wash dispensers were empty with no soap for personal use, and this wasn't known until my wife was in the shower already wet! I had to run down to the front desk to retrieve a tiny bar of soap and shampoo. When the GM was called and informed about the issue, she stated that she would deduct 50% of the room charge the next morning when we checked out but she was no where to be found. The staff would only take a message for her to call me but she never called me. When I received the final bill via email, there was only a 30% deduction from the bill and the GM could not be reached for discussion. When I finally talked to someone at length about my situation, a guy named Bruce, he was very curt to me and mouthy, even suggesting that I as a customer could not be trusted to tell the truth of my side of the story, stating that all customers lie to make their side of the story believable. I could not believe the remarks he made. He also said he would not give me back the difference in money because it would come out of his pocket and I'm not worth it as a customer of BW. Adria Keelin lied to me about the rate, she did not follow through and she gave no concern to contact me about the issues. After she was informed about the terrible room issues, she said she would take care of me but she did not, she avoided the issues instead! This place is a dump with a horrible staff and filthy rooms!!!!!
Finally starting to travel for work again. Even though it's been over a year, the staff at the BW Santa Fe remembered me, which is really nice. Still a reliably clean room with a location where I need to be, and the points program can't be beat. Great to see you guys again!
The room is pretty old and feel like a motel than a best western and was not that cheap to begin with. I got a deal otherwise would not have stayed here and paid the regular price. The towels look well worn,. Some wood shaving on the floor not vacuumed. Saving grace is they still have hot breakfast here unlike some other ones. Bed sheets are clean. Bathroom is small with sink outside in a separate area. There was smell of smoke even though hotel is non smoking, or maybe that is just the old smell, and i had to open the windows to air the room.
The room was very nice for the price that I paid off Hotwire with a king bed, chair and ottoman plus a computer desk. It seemed more like a suite. I didn't have time to stay for the breakfast but it looked really good and would have tried it out any other time. Excellent choice for a quick nights stay.
After some shaky weather (blizzard) the day before we arrived, the power was finally restored to hotel after we arrived and were told it would be a "couple hours." After making other arrangements down the road another 1 1/2 hours, clerk advised us power had been restored! Stay turned out to be good, and so was breakfast-fresh scrambled eggs!
Traveling from Colorado to Louisiana, we got caught in Texas's big snow/ice storm. When we arrived there we grab and go food bags with option for milk & cheese from breakfast fridge. 2nd night they offered names of business who were delivering food. Breakfast was hot and cooked fresh. Rooms were basic but well insulated from outdoor noises. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms had extra heat. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel is right on I-20 and easy on-easy off. Clean, attractive, sanitary. Plenty of decent towels. Nice shampoo, etc. Reasonably quiet. Staff wears masks. Very dog friendly. The only thing that would make it better would be a fenced dog park. There is a small grassy area labeled for dogs on 2 sides. There is a larger area grassy area that doesn't appear to be part of the hotel property that is also well used by dogs.
Rewards come quick with free stays and discounts for every type of person on the planet. If you want the best bang for your buck, nothing compares. If you get the Premium Best Western credit card, your reward points multiply and you get upgraded quick.
The hotel is right past the exit off of I-40 which you can get in but you have to watch feeder road traffic to get in the parking lot. No elevator so elderly or handicapped people be aware. They do have wireless internet but it is poor. It took a while to load. It was winter so the website states heated pool but it is seasonal. Not the best area of Amarillo but it was fairly quiet. Rooms were clean and roomy. The sink is outside the bathroom. I am not sure if that is a good thing. In our case getting up early my daughter getting ready you can't sleep a little longer for the light but the benefit is you can still shave and brush teeth while another person showers The breakfast with Covid was great . They had options to have them cook breakfast and offered in to go container. You could eat in the breakfast room or take it back to the room. They also offered grab and go option and a kids grab and go. I stay in a lot of hotels and this was a great option.
Great stay. This is a smaller location, but has had some very nice renovations. No elevator, stairs only. Room was extremely clean and updated. Bedding was nice. Good towels and supplies in the room. Thank goodness for blackout curtains since this is right next to I-40 South. Very busy highway all hours of the day/night. COVID-19 procedures clearly adhered to by staff. Several were cleaning common areas throughout the day. Breakfast was great! Organized, clearly marked. Even had a hot option made to order and placed into sealed to go boxes. Check-in was quick and easy. So was check-out. Would easily recommend!
Awesome grab and go very clean too They are doing and awesome during COVID loved the beds and towels. I've been staying at a few best western traveling most of the year just trying to get the most out of life as possible
The Best Western Santa Fe was the best Best Western I have stayed in. The staff was friendly. I had a hot breakfast despite civid and itvwas within the CDC guidelines. The front desk recommended a local restaurant forcroom service. The foodcwas excellent.
Check-in was smooth and quick. The room was amazing! King bed, couch, coffee table, desk/chair, refrig, microwave, large room.... awesome! There were 2 bottles of complimentary water that was a nice touch too. The shower had a dispenser of shampoo, conditioner, body wash instead of the small individual bottles - loved that. The shower pressure was strong and the water was hot. The room was ultra clean, heater was on and the window was locked upon arrival. Breakfast, in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, had options unlike other chains that offer nothing. There were cereal, granola bars, instant oatmeal available as well as a pre-packed Grab-n-Go bag. Coffee and juice were available. There was also a hostess that was making to order a hot breakfast. She had a large tip jar front and center and since I didn't bring any cash with me, I didn't feel that I could order that. They have designated rooms for those traveling with pets. I didn't notice any odors in the room. There was a narrow area all along the parking lot to walk your dog and they had the poop bags/trash can dispenser placed there as well. This property has the rooms inside the building with outside doors that you flash your room key to enter. The property was well lit at night. It has two floors and does not have an elevator. Parking was full but they do have a big dirt/gravel lot in the back for overflow parking. Checking out was as easy as checking in. The staff members were polite & professional. Nothing overly friendly and chatty but nice folks. This location is near several restaurants and a Walmart too. Face masks are required inside. (January 2021) My tips: (1) Getting off at exit 73 makes for a quick, sharp turn which is hard to do with traffic. After dinner, I did the 72B exit & rode the frontage road to hotel and preferred that. (2) back in when you park so you can just drive out in the morning. Some larger vehicles can make this a tight lot.
I read a LOT of reviews, anticipating a stop in Amarillo, TX. I was appalled at the lack of COVID-safe practices mentioned in many reviews. I spent a lot of time reading reviews until I found the BW Sante Fe in Amarillo. I was very pleased with my choice! The property was very clean, and safe procedures were promoted! I'd like to know what the bedding was -- the bed was firm with an extremely comfortable pillow-topper and pillows. The extras in the bag breakfast were appreciated -- an add-on yogurt, cheesestick. The muffin in the bag was freshly made ;-) The desk staff were polite and helpful. When asked about to-go menus; they just had one for La Bella Pizza (which was also a good find -- I had a HUGE homemade calzone and my husband liked his fish&chips!) I will plan on staying here again! There are a LOT of restaurants close that I'd like to check out. I was concerned that restaurant parking lots were very crowded! The safe curbside delivery at La Bella was good for now,
Spacious rooms, very clean, plenty of towels, great hot breakfast or grab and go breakfast as well. The bedding! I'm tired of hotels having a sheet and a weighty comforter—too cold with just the sheet, way too warm w the comforter! This hotel has a sheet and a BLANKET, and another cover sheet on the top. WooHoo! I slept so well last night! My only complaint is the parking availability in the main parking lot, but there is more spacious parking in the back.
This Best Western is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Starting with the friendly staff to the clean rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast was very enjoyable even in these time when everyone is so concerned with the pandemic. Everything was individually wrapped and the lady overseeing the breakfast was so nice and helpful. I highly recommend.
I had not stayed at this location in about ten years and was pleased to see the rooms, and entire hotel it seemed, had recently been redone. Very easy on and easy off I40 and close to the 72oz steak restaurant just up the road. The hotel provided a free shuttle to the restaurant.
We needed an overnight stay while traveling through Armarillo and saw this facility on the BW site. The staff was great, the room vey clean, the bead comfortable, and overall it was a very good stay. I would recommend this motel for anyone traveling through Armarillo,
We have stayed in numerous hotels in Amarillo going back and forth to Michigan. This is the first time staying here. It will now be our go-to place to stay on future trips. Pet friendly, quiet, very clean room and amenities. Comfortable beds lots of hot water for showers. Great hot breakfast. Highly recommend!
We had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Santa Fe. We were traveling with pets this trip and were pleased to have a room with access close to an exit where we did not have to go through the lobby with our pets. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the wifi worked well. The hotel staff members we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. It was also nice that rooms were marked as pet friendly in the Best Western app, making it especially easy to book the right type of room.
Beautiful biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage patties. I've been on the road a long time and this made my Halloween. Candy bowl available too. Lobby is on the small side where breakfast is made so eat in your room.
traveled route 66 with my wife, who happened to have a broken foot, booked online with very short notice, staff went above and beyond to make sure we were booked in very quickly comfy, also very helpful with breakfast in the morning, would highly recommend
We only stayed one night but from our experience it was well managed. The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were very well maintained and cleaned. The wifi was a bit weak but it allowed for some family fun time with board games.
The location is perfect for travel. This hotel is on the I-40 service road. This hotel offers breakfast burritos and sausage biscuits for breakfast. My room had a small refrigerator and microwave. I recommend this hotel to travelers and visitors.
we reserved a pet-friendly room, and there was a food/water bowl, treats and a potty pad waiting for us. The room was so clean, and large. Staff was very receptive to one small issue we had. The only thing that would have merited one more star is if the towels were a bit nicer. They were pretty scratchy. Other than that, it was a nice stay. Grab and go breakfast was fine, and understandable during this crazy pandemic.
Air conditioner and phone didn't work, so we were moved to a room on the second floor. Kind of a pain with a dog and (spoiler alert) there's no elevator in this hotel. Internet was terrible to nonexistent. Staff was friendly and took off the pet charge due to the a/c trouble. So in closing, an average affordable hotel.
We had to stay a few days on short notice (with 2 dogs and 2 kids) due to our AC going out during 100+ temps and the staff and our room were fabulous! The pool was clean and inviting. We will definitely return and recommend to our friends and family!
The hotel was decent for the price, you get what you pay for. The room was spacious for two and had a very nice mirror to get ready in the mornings. Only negative comment would be we found a cricket in our tub on our arrival.
Stayed July 26, 2020. We were a bit worried what this room would be like, since it only cost us $54 plus TTL, but we just wanted a clean place to sleep on a long road trip. This was an excellent surprise. The hotel is a bit old but not in disrepair. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The common areas were well kept and clean. It's a typical, older BW, and you won't regret stopping for the night.
The rooms could stand an updating, but they were clean and comfortable. Great for a quick stay while on a business trip. I would recommend this hotel. The Grab A Bag was perfect for the traveler on a short agenda.
This is evidently an older Best Western but it has been kept up well. Clean and comfortable. A very friendly greeting at front desk. Definitely felt safe. Our room was spacious and beds comfortable. It was obviously cleaned and sanitized. Breakfast had grab and go bags with water, granola bar, apple and muffin but warm, wrapped breakfast burritos and tacos were also offered. Nice touch. We would gladly stay here again.
We stayed one night along our road trip, it was clean, comfortable & easy to find. Staff were helpful & nice. Extra effort with breakfast was greatly appreciated. Most hotels are just handing out go to breakfasts bags due to Covid precautions but these folks had hot sausage, egg & cheese biscuits for us as well as the bagged goodies! Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very clean and smelled great! Front desk clerk was awesome! She was very helpful and courteous. Our experience was great! We will stay here again in the future. 5 stars from us.
Good experience all around. Very fast check in. Friendly staff. Great location. We were here for a funeral. There were easy accesses to places to eat, getting gas and right off the interstate. Room was comfortable and clean.
This was the longest, most confusing and complicated phone call of my life. If you think I'm exaggerating, I beg you to reconsider. Do not waste your time with this, booking 2 rooms shouldn't be an hour experience. Multiple mistakes were made with my reservation after an hour long conversation to clarify the details. On top of this I was overcharged, please for your mental health, and mine, do not book through this site
My wife and I traveled from Michigan to Arizona with 3 Best Western stays in between Kirkwood Mo, Weatherford Ok, and Amerilo New Mexico. All 3 hotels were were clean and the personel were very kind. The best of these 3 was in Weatherford Ok where the rooms were rustic 1st floor units with a beautiful restaurant attached. We would definitely recommend Weatherford. Kirkwood Mo has a Chili's adjacent to the hotel which is very convenient.
Was told a completely different price than what she charged my credit card... when I called she said she was the manager, she was rude and called me a liar. This will be our last visit with them, won't be back.
Stayed overnight during a cross country trip and this was one of the best hotels for cleanliness at the same price for other, less desirable hotels. My only complaint was barking dogs later at night and early morning for guests with dogs
Best Western Santa Fe was an overnight stay during an unusual icy snowstorm, it is very conveniently right off I-40 freeway, close to shops and restaurants. Our room was very clean, beds were very comfortable and we will stay here again should we come back to Amarillo, TX.
We chose this place to stay on our trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico because it is pet-friendly and serves breakfast. Wow! Were we pleasantly surprised! The lobby of this Best Western was decorated for the holidays exceptionally! The manager and her helpers were so friendly and helpful! We wanted to bring home take-out and she directed us to two different places nearby where we could get delicious barbequed brisket and excellent chicken wings. Our room was beautiful and newly remodeled, and there was plenty of room to relax and enjoy our evening. The breakfast was delicious and the eggs were scrambled, bacon, sausages, Danishes, breads, and fruits were all available. We will definitely make this our destination our all of our future trips to New Mexico.
Extremely nice, clean friendly experience. Nice breakfast area with plenty of food variety. Wonderful stay! Room was clean, pleasant and plenty of space. Lots of "hot" water, which was a most welcome change. We simply cannot say enough to praise this location. We will be stopping here again.
Great hotel. Staff very helpful with recommendations. Location perfect for us. Went to Meow Wolf and then had dinner around the plaza downtown. Hotel was in a great spot for both. Breakfast was also very nice,
We booked this hotel mainly because it was labeled pet friendly and on the interstate. At both check in and check out the front desk staff excellent and very helpful. The morning breakfast was also excellent and well presented. I would rate the front staff a four at the least. However now comes the bad, the room was substandard for a Best Western. Not very clean, grill to heating unit broken, one of the beds looked a little swaybacked. Also while showering noticed the curtain was torn On one end. After the shower I saw what looked like rust on the bottom of the shower rod. When I ran my finger over the rod it came off like a brown mold. For these reasons I would rate this Inn a two. I therefore averaged the two and came up with three.
Great Place to stay! The breakfast and staff were great! It is PET FRIENDLY!!! We were able to park by the door close to the pet rooms. We ended up staying there on our way to Taos and then again on the way back!! We love bringing our pets with us. We did go hike one day at Pale Duro with our pets! Needless to say, we will be back to stay here!!
10 star rating on a five star survey. Ndont change a thing. This place was excellent.. Clean fresh smelling room.. Very updated. Great beds with a lot of attention to detail. Would never had guessed this was a bed friendly room. No dog smell. And looked great. Will definitely recommend to anyone
This is the 2nd time staying here and this place is always super clean and staff are pleasant and attentive to any request. Beds are super comfortable. Have an excellent breakfast and popcorn at all times.
Excellence in every aspect! Clean, great service and friendly employees. Quiet location with free continental breakfast and wi-fi. Would stay there again and have stayed there many before. Easy access to town and off and onto I-40.
We stayed on our way to & from picking up our daughter in CO and this hotel was GREAT for us! Breakfast was ready & quick, our room was clean & the staff was super! We will definitely stay again on our trips back & forth to CO!
The rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Their breakfast is nicer than many Best Westerns with quite a few gluten free items to choose from. They have a nice area to walk dogs along with doggie bags. I would definitely stay here again.
I needed a room that had a fold-out couch for my kids. When I called to make reservation and when I called later to confirm they told me there was a fold out couch. Even when I checked I asked the desk and they confirmed that there was a couch but you guessed it, no fold out couch. One of my kids had to sleep on the floor because of this.
My only complaint. The mattress is getting a little tired. Clerk was friendly. She made popcorn on request. Rooms were quieter and clean. Easy off on on. We had an upper level room. No elevators. No road noise
Best hotel in amarillo hands down! Clean. Clean. Clean. The friendly staff was the best we have encountered in our travels. Food was on point. Anyone traveling through or to the Amarillo area would be treating themselves by staying here. We will use them again.
We came through town not planning to stay but had couple of thinga come up. Last minute check in here we come. Thankfully the front desk Payton was super friendly and welcoming. The stay was wonderful and while getting ready to leave we grabbed breakfast amd it was so friendly. The staff amd stay were worth it.
Very noisy, could hear other guest easily, doors slamming and dogs barking?......... poor sleeping, could hear everything, poor insulation in walls, Was easy to find,,,,,,, gas station a block away had good price
Very welcomed by Terry when we checked in and was immediately recognized as a BW member. Rooms were very clean and everything was nice. Breakfast was good and the room was spotless. Staff was very friendly.
I was very impressed by the hotel itself and the service. Check-in was perfect. The room was very clean and easy access to outside for the dogs. The place hit all my highlights except food and cleanliness of parking area. The food was so so. I appreciate that they had International delight creamer and apple juice. Was not impressed with biscuits and eggs. I would definitely stay again based on the customer service and cleanliness of hotel. Bedding was very clean as well.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. And the value was outstanding (Best Western members and/or AAA rate), particularly when considering the included breakfast! My husband and I are Road-tripping across the country so we stay in a lot of hotels/motels. The breakfast at this hotel was THE BEST we have experienced: fresh eggs, potatoes, biscuits/gravy, sausage, fruit, yogurt, cereals, juices, breads and pastries, healthy snacks AND a variety of gluten free options including bread! And the coffee was fresh and delicious too - not too strong or bitter.
I can't say enough about this motel. The beds were heavenly and much appreciated by 2 very tired people who were on a 2500 mile march to get to our destination. The desk clerk was so friendly and cheerful, asked us several times if we needed anything. The motel was well kept and so clean. Our room was beyond reproach. The TV was superior and HD too. Made us feel right at home. They even had us a to go breakfast ready for us at the desk when we left at "dark o'clock". Who does that?? Best Western - that's who!!! They are my motel of choice - if they are anywhere I travel.
Bathroom commodes not recommended for tall folks or those with back, leg or knee issues. No commode risers available. No grid or bath mats available. Slick tubs. Recommend if you stay at any BW's you take a commode riser and mat for the tub.
We were on our way to Ohio for a funeral, stayed there and we woke up our Van was covered with ice And being from AZ we did not have an ice scrapper. Thank you to the Breakfast Lady she offered us hers, and we put it to good use. Everyone was great to work with and the breakfast was hot and the area clean. See you next time.
Pet friendly. There are two large grassy areas to walk your dogs. Pet disposal bags are available. Great breakfast options including sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, fruit, pastries. Very reasonable price.
Very nice. Really clean had everything I needed in my room. Will use best western again on my next trip. That have excellent prices for their rooms, it was very quiet, and comfortable, nice size TV, really nice king size bed. Really loved my stay.
Basic motel. Not terrible, not a good value though for it's location and what it lacks. Bed was acceptable, but hardly comfortable. Room was what you would expect for less than $80 per night, but actual cost was $112. People were pleasant.
My daughter was swimming in the pool and realized she was being videoed by a young man in the pool area. She confronted him and made him leave. She went to 'Brisly' at the front desk to report it and asked about the security camera footage in the pool area {the camera was clearly visible}, and he stated "there was no security camera in the pool area". Breakfast the next morning was disorganized in the way items were arranged. They quickly ran out of biscuits and bacon but had plenty of gravy, which the guests had to eat on plain bread. The staff acted like they didn't know what to do, and didn't care anyway. This BW is not up to the standards one comes to expect from this motel chain.
It started with the desk clerk. He was rude when we requested a first floor room as I have difficulty doing stairs, even though I did put that in my original reservation. He seemed put out that I would request that he take the time to change it. The room was only partially cleaned. It smelled overly of air freshener and the toilet was dirty. The same clerk was annoyed when we lost money in the vending machine and he had to come over to refund our money. On our road trip we spent 11 nights in BW properties and this was by far the worst.
Second time to stay at a BW on the same trip. Very consistent with decor, amenities, services, friendly front desk. It was like I knew what to expect, no surprises. Tired travels don't need issue....I had none with BW in either Amarillo TX or Estes Park CO.
This hotel is super convenient. It is right off of I-40. It has pet friendly rooms and handicapped rooms. It is also convenient to several good family restaurants. The lobby has been re-done so it aesthetically very pleasing. There is a pool with two shallow ends one on either side so great for families a little difficult for lap swimming. The hotel is a little dated but from what I saw most of the town was. The price is good, the location is convenient, and the people were friendly and helpful. I would definitelystay again if we were going cross country.
We usually like to stay with Best Western chain when looking for a hotel. This was a good location for us to spend the night while passing through Amarillo. It was late and was hoping for a restaurant in walking distance but no luck. We were able to get a couple of yogurts to hold us over until morning. I slept very well. Room comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. Better than some.
We stayed there as a stop on a trip that continued. We got in late and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and cool and there was a nice place for our pups outside. Even though this is a pet friendly hotel, you could not tell pets had been in our room. Hot breakfast next morning and lots of friendly, smiling faces!
Once was enough, and not going to stay at this hotel again. Management needs to get the rooms a lot cleaner and a pest control service because they have BED BUGS. I have never encountered them anywhere before. My advice is to find any other place to stay in Amarillo. And the breakfast wasn't so great either, surly waitstaff, no friendly service.
The inside of this Best Western is very nice and clean, the personnel on the front desk were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Check in was a breeze. The parking spaces are on the tight side but adequate, they have RV and trailer parking in a lot further back from the rooms. We were lucky to get the last ground floor room they had as they do not have an elevator for the second floor. Our room was very nice and grand, the bathrooms had a nice layout with more room than most. The place was quiet and very comfortable with lots of lights, desk, table, and chairs. We received a very nice upgrade for our room for being Platnum members. The full breakfast was better than most with a large selection of items, the gravy was good with sausage bits, both sausage and bacon, the waffles are in the shape of the state of Texas with two types of jam toppings along with the syrups. There were several seating areas to eat so did not seem crowded even though it was full. There are several places close by to eat and I did see a pizza delivery guy delivering when we arrived. This is a very nice place to stay. My only comment is they have the cheapest ice bucket in the room I have ever seen, but it still worked.
Room was clean; decor of room average & working order of guest room amenities o.k. The hotel check-in and check-out was good and the front desk employees was nice & Friendly. The breakfast was less than what I had expected for Best Western.
On our way from NC to NM we stayed at this property. When we drove up we thought that we might be asking for a refund due to the area and the look of the outside. We walked into the office and was shocked. The decor in the lobby was very updated, contemporary and very clean. So I walked through the building to get a cart and came upon maids sweeping the floor. The hallway was very clean and the room the same way. The hotel was recently redone with lots of upgrades. I would stay here again if in the area.
Traveling from Holbrook,AZ , as we traveled I40 and Route 66 we were determined to get to Amarillo. I called ahead and talked to a young man and he was very friendly. I felt wanted and appreciated, he told me of the hotel amenities and the free breakfast lol. Upon arrival the hotel was immaculate and they even had coffee and juice and cookies waiting near the front desk. Our check in was a breeze and we lived our room. The beds were soft yet a lil firm which my wife loved. We slept like kings that night. The breakfast was a huge hit and was a great send off. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler. I am very very picky and thus hit the spot.
We arrived very late, but found the staff alert and friendly. Unfortunately they do not have an elevator on property, so it was difficult getting large suitcases up to the upper floor. The breakfast was well stocked and had a wide variety.
We stopped in Santa Fe for a night's rest during our trip across the country. Was quiet for being next to the freeway. Beds were comfy and the room was well furnished. My son loved the pool. Pizza delivery in the area as well.
We liked the hotel very much and the staff was very kind and friendly. We did have a little trouble getting to the hotel because of construction, the road out front was one-way which meant we often had to go to the other side of the highway and back around again every time we left the hotel and came back. This was not the hotels fault, but it was a little annoying and confusing.
Pretty basic but clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. My partner didn't find the bed clothes too impressive and was unable to find another blanket. Breakfast average and over by 9 WiFi in the room was very poor
We stopped on a trip out west, and this place was great. Clean and comfy. On our way to check out I was impressed to see them shampooing the carpet's. They have a nice quick breakfast that is staffed by a very pleasant lady.
We needed a hotel at the end of our day. Checked into Best Western, we didn't have a reservation. Super friendly service, very clean. Quiet even though the hotel was fairly booked up. Beds are very comfortable . The breakfast offers good choices and is fresh looking. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend it.
Excellent location and service. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Quick check in and express checkout. Many nearby restaurants to choose from just a short drive. Only negative was the amount of blocked roads due to construction but this is no reflection on the hotel.
Just off I-40 Real easy to get to fine location on the East side of Amarillo,Texas. Gas & food close by.Complex was real nice and parking was easy.would stay here again if the need arises.easy on easy off.
quiet and busy place just off the highway, east of town away from most of the touristy restaurants and other stuff is, check in guy knows his stuff, helped other guests while I was there, large room, good decor
Right off I-40 so you may hear some of the highway traffic. However, this is a great hotel if you are just passing by or staying for a couple nights. Friendly staff, and nice clean hotel. Comfortable beds with clean rooms. They do not have any elevators so if you have a lot of luggage be prepared to carry it up the stairs however. Overall for the price it was a great place to stay while we were traveling through the area.
The rooms are only partly cleaned. The hotel is older. Breakfast is poor with limitted selection. I asked them to store food and medicine. My wife found the freezer door open and our food was thawed out and so was the food to be served at the hotel. The desk clerk was told but did not care. This put all visitors at the hotel at risk. STAY AWAY
We had a very comfortable king bed. The room was large with a couch. They served Cucumber water and cookies in the eve. Right off the freeway-easy access. Liked the decor-Texas stars in hall way. The entire hotel was clean.
This place is a great value. I was expecting less because I knew it was close to I-40 and I was concerned about hearing the roar of the Interstate. I thought the price might be reduced because of that. The facility looks new, the decor is shades of black, white, and silver highlighted with metallic art - quite eclectric and beautiful. The condition of my room was impeccable. I was located on the ground middle of the building. I could hear the Interstate if I listened real hard. It did not bother my sleep. The friendly front desk clerk went out of her way to arrange free limousine service to the Big Texan Steak Ranch, which is only two exits away. That was a memorable dining experience.
My sister and I stopped here during our cross country road trip. It was the best hotel we stayed in! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable with soft sheets. We loved the continental breakfast, there were lots of choices and great Texas shaped waffles. The woman at the front desk was super friendly. Would stay again!
The first room offered had an overwhelming smell of urine. Desk clerk did move us across the hall to an acceptable room but with minimal apology. And noticed they put someone else in that awful first room later that night. Disgraceful!
This was our second time to spend the night at this property. It is easy to get to and has places to eat nearby. Check-in was easy. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. This is exactly what we wanted for a night. We would stay here again for sure.
We travel a lot on a motorcycle. Stay at bw enough to get lots of free nights. Our go to place. We've stayed in a bw in almost every state. We've been in 47 states and always stay at bw, at least par of the time
This a a good place to stay. The hotel is easy access on and off the freeway. Amazing professional staff. The hotel could use some up grades compared to some other Best Westerns we stayed at. Breakfast had a good selection of food to chose from. Amanda was amazing...
I did an online search for review as to which hotels offered a real breakfast serving hot food especially bacon and sausage. Best Western did not disappoint. They also supersized us with an upgrade that was awesome.
Conveniently located off I-40. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was nice. Our breakfast of eggs, biscuits and gravy was delicious! It is a great place for a reasonable price and we would definitely stay there again!
ive stayed at many hotels in amarillo while traveling and this is the one i stuck with. very clean and nice. been very disappointed with other hotels but not this one. employees are very nice. i really recommend this hotel.
We had to make a quick trip to Amarillo Texas on New Year's eve, and we're looking for economical but nice and this place was perfect! Super clean everywhere, large comfortable room and super nice breakfast-even waffle maker! Very comfy bed, pillows-at a super price. Very pleased with our stay.
This hotel is nice and is conveniently located off the interstate. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. We stayed one night on our way to Denver and enjoyed our stay here. $92 a night in Amarillo is a little pricey as there were a lot of less expensive options but we didn't want to deal with any issues on a quick stay so we chose Best Western as they've always seemed reliable.
We came in on a rest stop because we were traveling long distance and the young lady at the counter made sure we were checked into our room as soon as possible so that we could rest. She was very nice and made our stay great! We got a standard Queen Bed Bedroom. The rook was very clean and nicely decorated, had all the amenities and a spacious mirror/sink area. The only thing was that when I went into the shower, the water temperatures were reversed. When I turned the hot water handle, the water that came out was freezing cold! Especially since it's middle of winter in Amarillo. Turns out the hot water was on the cold handle. Other than that minor issues, I enjoyed my overnight stay and felt well rested to continue the trip early morning the next day.
So nice to stay at a clean comfortable spot, and without stinky fragrances in the room or on the bedding! Beds were comfortable, slept like a rock; we got in late and the desk staff was pleasant and thorough with their information. Top it off with Buffett breakfast in the morning, yay!
Late at night, so got late check in approval. Then got lost by following my Late at night, so got late arrival approved. Then got lost, following my GPS. But the night clerk directed me thru the city and to the hotel, lost again. He finally suggested he stay on the phone til I got to the hotel. He was truly a life saver (never knew Amarillo had such a 'dark' side).
We usually break up our trip from Texas to Colorado with an overnight stay at BW in Amarillo. Last year our stay was great, but this year the stay was ok at best. It was not like we encountered problems during our stay, but it was the little things that made it just ok. Let me start with, the room was great, clean and met our needs. But the little things were the outside access to the building not being locked at all and the waffle maker not producing nice waffles at all. The second is hardly not worth mentioning, but my daughter loves the BW waffles and always looks forward to them.
We have stayed in Amarillo many times. The smiles at this Best Western has won us over to stay only here. If you want customer service with a smile stop in and stay in a clean comfortable room. Good breakfast too.
This is a very well-run hotel. Located off I-40 and close to many dining options, including the Big Texan restaurant. Whenever we come to Amarillo, we stay here. Good value, and the staff is friendly. Internet is strong, and the room was very clean. Highly recommend.
As a military family in transition to our new duty station we were not aware of the amount of hotels in the area when we booked a different hotel (Amarillo Inn & suites) -we arrived at that hotel for our stay and it was terrible with so many issues with the “room” if that is what you want to call it. We were desperate to find another hotel when we found Best Western. I called and asked them if they could book us for the night with 2 dogs 2 adults and 2 kids. The gentlemen working was an angel. Instantly got us in a room and gave us 3 extra sets of blankets to help with our stay. The room was very nice and clean. We wish would have found this hotel first.
Stayed here while passing through on my way to Texas. Standard Best Western. right off the interstate on the eastern edge of town. Price seemed a little high especially compared to other chain hotels in the area--I guess since it's the last hotel before leaving town, they charge a little more--last chance and all that? Staff was friendly enough. Rooms were quiet despite the hotel's proximity to the highway.Bed comfortable, although pillows seemed lumpy. Room was large. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was standard fare--eggs and sausage, cereals, breads. Smallish breakfast area, but I ate early and got on the road..not sure if seating would be an issue later in the morning.
We were traveling late at night and called when we were about an hour from this hotel. They were accommodating and friendly, and when we arrived close to 1 a.m. they welcomed us warmly and made sure our room was comfortable. We were weary from traveling and this was greatly appreciated. The room was very spacious, quiet and very clean. The breakfast was quite good and had a nice variety of choices.
We were headed East to go on a hog hunt and we stopped for the night they had a nice parking lot so I could see the four wheelers it was quit and cool. We went to the Steak Hiouse just down the road and had the best rig steak and jalopino dacori. Sorry about the spelling. I would stay again
Coming back from a long trip to Colorado, we needed a place to stop between there and Houston. This hotel was great, it's got interior access rooms, is extremely quiet inside and right on the interstate. It's one of the nicest and most recently updated plain Best Westerns I've seen. The room we had was great, beds were comfy, plenty of pillows, AC worked great, internet and all TV channels also were top notch. A little more expensive than Best Westerns in smaller towns, but overall still a great value. This one is on our stop list from now on!
Amarillo is a necessary overnight stop while driving from Wyoming to San Antonio, Texas with my wife and two little girls . We have had nothing but great experiences there and will be the only hotel we stay at in Amarillo.
Great stay! Fairly easy access to hotel on interstate. Clean, very comfortable room, helpful, friendly staff, warm cookies! Comfortable beds, very quiet hotel, Free Gift bag for being a Rewards member! Haven't eaten the breakfast yet, but I'm sure it will be very good. Room temp was perfect, no hassling with control to set temp. Very quiet system. Completely non smoking hotel. Lots of tv channels, lady at front desk was very efficient, friendly, anxious to please. Couldn't have asked for better service! This review may seem ridiculously positive, but as I sum it all up, it could not have been better! Absolutely nothing negative can be said! We have stayed us several Best Westerns, some good, some average and a couple really bad! Guess it all comes down to management, maybe. We will seek out this hotel again on our way to and from the West!
Nice spot for staying over night in Amarillo. Very spacious and clean rooms. The rooms are also very quiet. Wifi works perfectly. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. Tje breakfast was very good with a good choice of even hot meals. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. I strongly recommend this place for your stay in Amarillo.
Very welcome that they had vacancy the night of. Driving cross country so wasn't 100% sure where to stop. Offers military and AAA discount. Would consider again if passing through. Didn't hear people next to me or down the hall either.
We were very pleased from check in. Very friendly and professional staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. When we asked for assistance with the T.V. the front desk clerk was quick to come to the room and was happy to assist us.We were also helped out with toothpaste when we realized we had forgotten to pack ours.prices were great and we even received a BW gift card and a $5.00 off our total bill.
The staff are extremely helpful - we needed some milk when we arrived & the receptionist got it cheerfully Room is spacious & clean Be sure to use google maps to get to it - Tom Tom hasn't figured out these roads Pete
Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable beds. We stayed at a Super 8 on our trip and it was AWFUL. Picked Best Western because we were hoping it would be better-and it was WAY better. And there were fresh-baked cookies in the lobby, too. Really made us feel like they were glad to have us stay here. Will definitely be back.
Only stayed one night as we were passing through on the way to Colorado. No complaints. Nice clean and comfortable room and bed. Good hot breakfast. Nice large pool but did miss not having a hot tub. Easy to get to location. Happy with our stay.
This hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. This hotel does not have an elevator so if you cannot not climb stairs make sure you request a downstairs room. The hall ways where very hot. The room was very clean the only complaint that I have is that the bathrrom was very small. The internet stopped working several times on my iPad. Overall we enjoyed our stay here with just a few minor items that wished we could have changed.
Absolutely loved staying here! My kids had so much fun at the pool. The manager, Andria, brought us warm towels straight out of the dryer. She was very accommodating and friendly! The rooms were spacious, and very clean. I loved that each bed had several pillows. I also loved that the in-room coffee maker had several coffee packets. I love my coffee! Breakfast was also delicious! I had biscuits, gravy, sausage and real eggs! They have a waffle maker with several toppings for the young at heart! They have a variety of breakfast items that even pleased my picky kids. I would highly recommend staying here. The staff treats you like family and makes you feel right at home!
Very friendly staff. Kids loved the pool. The rooms were amazing. Huge tv, clean comfy beds. Fully stocked restrooms. Breakfast was like home cookin! Will definitely stay here every time I come to visit family.
The manager Andria was amazing, super helpful for me and my service dog. Very accommodating, welcoming and just respectful. I recommend this this Best Western. Our room was top notch for cleanliness. The breakfast was perfect, the scrambled eggs and buttermilk biscuits hit the spot. I will definitely stay again.
We were SO pooped after driving 600 miles from Flagstaff the same day, and with an 80-pound Rottweiler it's not always easy to find a place to stay. However, this property came up on a "dog hotel search" website, (bringfido.com) and I'm sure glad it did! There was a $20 charge for the Rottie, which was reasonable (any dog costs the same). We arrived late, about 12:30 a.m., but were greeted by a friendly front desk attendant and quickly checked in (we had booked it over the phone earlier in the evening). There was a large lot in the back where we could park our rig, it was well lit and had signs warning of video surveillance, so we felt fairly safe. This is a pet-friendly hotel; they even have a patch of grass for your canine's necessary moments and bags to dispose of it in a neighborly way. They offer a free breakfast until 9 a.m. but we were too busy snoozing on the VERY comfortable mattresses to get up in time! The property is well maintained, clean and quite roomy. Recommend...a good deal.
My family and I stayed one night here. Everything went smoothly and everyone was friendly. You can tell they tried to update everything but it's already outdated, esp the lobby decor. Breakfast was just so-so.
I've stayed at Best Westerns for 7 days straight and I end up coming home with Scabies. I thought staying in a higher end hotel would keep you from the problems associated with the cheaper chains but I was wrong. An emergency room visit later plus Rx costs $456 tell me to stay at motel 6 from now on.
Exactly as rated, this hotel is middle of the road. Affordable but nothing special. Receptionist was super nice and informative. Room was decent but with a view of nothing basically. AC seemed to rattle and never auto switched off. Bathroom light was a bit dingy and aside from the stray hair (which was gross) on a clean towel, the rest of the room was relatively tidy. Microwave and fridge in room was nice but location of only vending/ice machine, only on 1st floor by reception, wasn't ideal. Overall decent stay but it's just that...decent.
This hotel met our needs but could use some updating. The morning staff was extremely helpful in helping us navigate out of Amarillo due to an accident on the interstate. Breakfast was good but seating was limited. Not a lot of close by restaurants - have to drive to get a meal.
Staying in BW hotels on cross-country trip whenever possible. Amarillo's BW Santa Fe is not up to the standards of the others. E.g., no hairdryer, crumbling cement surrounding building and walkways, misinstalled faucet in room, small amenities missing (e.g., no pool towels available, ice buckets without lids).
We spent one night here on the way home from our vacation. The hotel is easy to find being just off of I 40. Check-in was easy. Our accessible room was clean and comfortable. The hotel looked new. We would stay here again.
We stayed here on our return home trip.Large room.Nicely furnished. Shower worked fairly well. Thin walls...was woke up during the night by kids yelling.Strange loud humming noise off/ on from bathroom wall. Breakfast was good...hot and cold items. It was ok for the one night we stayed.
Excellent service....when we arrived the hooted had lost power. The gentleman at the front explained to us about the power situation and apologized. This did not stop him from trying to check us in using what I believe must have been his personal phone. While he was trying on his phone the power came back on an he was then able to check us in using his regular method. Impressive I must admit. He also reduced the rate for our one night stay. I will definitely stay at the BW when passing thru next.
This hotel is right on the Interstate but the room was very quiet. Comfortable room with good amenities. Rates are reasonable. Front desk is very courteous. All the décor is very new and trendy. But their 'hot breakfast' is not so hot. Poor quality food!
We wanted to stay on the East side of town and found the BW to be very accommodating, reasonably priced, with easy access to I-40. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good, homemade scrambled eggs, cinnamon toast sticks with real maple syrup, and a full cup of chobani yogurt. The area is right off I-40, kind of industrial, but a nice hotel to spend the night.
The hotel was stylishly redecorated and everything was easily accessible. The breakfast was the best I have ever had at a Best Western! The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The a/c works very well, not damp and stuffy like most hotels. I am looking forward to another stay. I am so glad to find a hotel worth staying at, it's always such a scary thing to book a room without knowing! Don't worry with this hotel in Amarillo!
The room was good. Breakfast left a lot to be desired and the lobby was not as good as others but overall it was a good stay. The pillows are leave a lot to be desired. The staff was friendly and took are of our needs.
The room was clean and the breakfast was adequate. That being said I am glad this one was a freebie with my rewards points. The decor is dark and kind of depressing. The wifi signal is weak and almost useless. The location of the motel is not conducive to walks in the neighborhood.
Next to I-40, but was very quiet in room. Close to all kinds of places to eat, fast food and regular dining. Easy access on and off I-40. Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was well stocked.
Generally the coffee provided in the rooms is very weak. A hot cup of dishwater would likely taste as good.. Maybe a better supplier could provide the hotels with a greater selection.. It seems the same coffee is used in the breakfast rooms. This is the only general criticism I have regarding Best Westerb hotels across the country.
Spend the night on the way home. Clean rooms, it is renovated and clean. Beds are ok but it is a budget hotel. Only thing I don't care for is vanity in the main room and not in the bathroom. Breakfast was surprisingly good with variety.
My daughter and I drove across country (NH to LA) in June, and recently return taking the southern route. In June we stayed in Ontario at a Best Western. We loved it and every night thereafter we stayed at Best Western. They are clean, a good value, safe, nice people, and a decent breakfast! When we returned to NH we again stayed each night at a Best Western, and again were very pleased.
Best Western Santa Fe was a good stay and certainly met our expectations. We made a quick overnight stay here on a road trip and found it to be clean, quiet, and nice. The bed was very comfortable and the room was relaxing. The staff was nice and we had no complaints.
Had a great stay and the breakfast every good the staff are always very nice and helpful. When traveling in the Kingman area I stay at the bestwesteren it's clean and on occasion they do a BBQ next to the pool great place to stay
We overnighted at this hotel on our way east. The room was spacious and well appointed and the bed comfortable. The outside appearance of the hotel was not impressive nor was the fact that the security door ("use room key to enter") did not latch or lock. The vanity was not behind a door, so if one person is brushing teeth or shaving while the other is still in bed, the person in bed must endure the light being on. The faucets were "backwards" hot to the right and cold left! Same with shower! Breakfast was fine but the eating area smallish. The are surrounding does not have an abundance of restaurants and attractions. We would stay here again but only after carefully looking around for other options
The rooms were large and spacious. There was also a desk for me to sit at and send out emails before I needed to head out to my gig. It was also a huge perk to wake up and eat a complimentary Texas shaped waffle. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
This location is almost impossible to find due to it's location on a frontage access road near I 40. Construction in the area doesn't help either. When I left Shreveport LA and put the address of 4600 I 40 East, Amarillo Tx into my GPS, it came up no such street address. So I called the BW location in Amarillo for varification and was told to enter "access" after the address. GPS still told me no such street, so was told it is just off exit 73. Decided to wing it since it was too late to cancel my reservation for a refund. Arriving on exit 73 found a one way street going the wrong way which took me back onto 40 past my exit 73. Got off and tried another way but still no luck. Called the desk clerk and luckily got a really nice guy who was great with directions and stayed on the phone with me till I arrived. If it wasn't for him I would probably still be driving around. His name is Melan and BW should give him a raise. Everything else was good also. Nice big clean room, good breakfast.
We were assigned a room and discovered one of the beds had dirty sheets on it. Ew. Just ew. Always stay at Best Westerns but this is nasty. Calling corporate when we return home. This was just appalling.
We were driving from Michigan to Arizona. Amarillo was a logical place to stop. Upon reading reviews, we decided to stop here. It's kind of funky getting to the building from the freeway, but gps got us there no problem. The lobby and rooms were all remodeled. You can tell they used some of the old furniture pieces, but it was very nice nonetheless. I appreciated their pet policy, as it was only 20 bucks for both of my dogs. They had a grassy area to let them out with potty bags. There was also a giant field next to the property that we used for potty time as well. And, they have a little big of treats they give the pooches. Breakfast was good with the normal fixings. All in all, it was a great stay at a great price! Will stay again on the way back:)
My daughter and I were traveling from California to Georgia and picked up a flu bug. We were so sick when we checked in and ended up staying two extra nights. The staff went way out of their way to help us, even pulling out breakfast items more than an hour after the breakfast time had ended. The room was very clean and well maintained. If I stay in Amarillo again, I'm staying at this hotel.
Despite being close to the highway it was quiet. The room was in need of repair and TLC. Carpet peeling and dirty in room. Cleaning staff left Cary at the top of the stairs making passing it by difficult.
We stay here from time to time when we travel from Idaho to Arkansas. This is a nice place for us to stop for the night. The location is very convenient. We've stayed a handful of times and never had an issue.
This hotel is well situated close to the I40. Rooms are clean and modern. We appreciated the fact that the attendant was very helpful in giving us information about surroundings and places to have our dinner. We recommend this hotel without hesitation. Quality vs price is excellent.
I 40 E exit 73 and literally at end of off ramp SLOW DOWN quickly the BW is right there. You also find your self in a one was street. Check in was easy room Clean no complaints. Already knew where I wanted to eat but their recommendations included my place Big Texan Steak House across the freeway. I am a BW rewards member i was satisfied with my stay. Breakfast options were limited and I had already planned not to eat it.
Had just stayed the night before at a higher end hotel where the tub didn't drain and the carpet was wet for some reason. Pleasantly surprised with the Best Western room which was very clean and everything was as it should be. Also able to teach a lesson to the kids that the higher end hotels don't offer free breakfast or internet like the Best Western did. Good value.
We had been traveling for a few days (over the holidays), this hotel was on our route home and near specific landmarks/touristy places we wanted to see/visit. So location was the main factor for our one night stay. The price was a bit higher than we expected, but our stay was very close to a major holiday.
I stayed here in May 2017 and again in January 2018. The king size bed was not as comfortable as back in May and the breakfast choices were very limited and did not look appealing. I skipped breakfast but did pour a cup of orange juice, or at least that is what it said on the container. The orange juice was watered down and did not taste like real orange juice. Overall I was disappointed with this Best Western during this swing thru the south.
This hotel is located right off the highway so very quick access in and out to nearby restaurants and shopping. It does allow animals so please be sure to keep them quiet to not bother other guests in the middle of the night. Besides dog barking, this was a great place to stay for the night. Room was very clean, tidy with amenities.
This hotel was a great value, especially if you have pets! The staff at check in was very personable and asked about my day. The room was large and newly redone. They had a dog area outside with plenty of room to walk around. Breakfast was good. We will definitely return.
Very nice room and friendly staff. Breakfast was hot and ready anytime during the morning--nothing warmed up and left out. Felt warm and inviting the whole trip. We will definitely stay here in the future!!
We had to wait to get a different room as original room was being repaired. The room we got was great. Clean, bed was very comfortable, hot shower and used their WiFi. Breakfast was good and very convenient. Would stay here again.
Stayed here on our way to Fort Worth, the property and our room was very clean! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here. Great property! And as a bonus they gave us a little box of doggy treats for our pooch!
We were extremely surprised by this hotel. Cleanliness, great breakfast, bed was great to sleep in. Only bad thing was we could hear the interstate that was right outside the hotel. We could hear the child next door when she got upset during the night. Basically the hotel was a great place to stay.
Those needing a roll in shower....check first. While the shower was beautiful it had a in place seat that stinks the shower in half. I had to lift my boyfriends legs out of his shower chair, remove the foot plates, then set his feet on the shower seat in order for him to fit inside the shower. Also there is not a drain outside the shower and the floor gets very slippery when wet. Other then the shower the room was great.
CLEAN lobby, rooms and bathroom. Easy check in and check out. Good filling and several choices for breakfast (clean as well). Parking was well lit and easy access off/on highway. Cheerful help at breakfast and front desk was sincere and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and convenient to an outside exit for our pets. The bed was very comfortable. Boxed dog treats were provided at the front desk. Nice touch. It was convenient to get on and off 40.
Smaller hotel but nicely done. Everything is modern and layout was well thought out. Nice breakfast area with good food and drink. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful as were all the maids. Everything outside the room very clean and the outside was clean also. They accept animals. And have area for them outside with a clean up station. The room was nice and clean with great pillow mattress and plenty of pillows. Large bathroom vanity sepreat from toilet tub area. I will stay here whenever I'm in Amarillo. The price was great also.
Our Tom Tom didn't find this property from the address & it's not listed for some reason. It's on a frontage road running parallel with I40 getting off at exit 72B. The décor is very modern & to my taste & I believe it was refurbed a couple of years ago. The check in guy was very friendly & helpful. Our room was big & well appointed. It had open hanging space which I personally like as there's less chance of leaving something behind! The washbasin was outside the bathroom with a lot of counterspace for wash bags etc, which again I like to have. The walls were thin & there was slight road noise but luckily we were at the back. The a/c wasn't too noisy. The breakfast area is very small & right by the lobby. The choices are good & the staff friendly. Great value. No complaints.
Loved that this place accommodated dogs and for relatively cheap (20.00). It was also very comfortable and nicely upgraded with better than standard fare room décor. It was right off the freeway so easy to move around Amarillo and easy to jump on the road and head for home in the morning. Still very quiet and we passed a great night here. I highly recommend this hotel!
Accepts pets, which is awesome and hard to find these days, so we appreciated that, and so didn't mind being charged a "Pet Fee", and would expect the room to have some hair, but our room was severely covered in black, and some white dog hair! The bathroom floor was horrible before we even walked into it, so it wasn't hair brought in there by our socks from the carpet that was covered in hair too! Even the furniture had hair on it. The bed seemed fine, or we would've left!
The location was a little tricky to figure out so late at night but our check in was at 11pm and the desk attendant was sweet as could be. Definitely reccomend for a short overnight stay if needed! Great stay.
To break up a 14 hour trip on our way back from Colorado, we spent the night at the Best Western in Amarillo. It was a great place to spend the night and good breakfast in the morning before hitting the road again.
We were too late for breakfast but while I was getting a coffee in the breakfast room, the nice staff person offered me a to go bag. It had a small water, an apple, a chewy granola bar and a muffin. Great surprise when I thought I would have to go to a drive thru for my morning meal. I slept well even in a corner room. They should use about half the Febreeze when cleaning the room. The smell was overwhelming at first . The bathroom's jet engine fan helped a little to clear the air. Overall, good rating.
Love staying at Best Western. Location in Amarillo could use an onsite fitness area, instead of driving to a separate location. But still enjoy my stay at your hotel. Parking convieneant. Restaurants and shopping close by
I stayed for two nights in Amarillo Best Western. Its a smaller size Best Western which makes it easy to get from one's car to a room. I had a nice king size room in the backside (i.e opposite of I-40) of the hotel. It was on the first floor. It was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Couch was nice. There was very good internet access. There is included a good continental breakfast in the morning. It was a good way to start the day. The price is good. I considered price/value superb. Staff is helpful and friendly. Overall it was a very nice stay; good service; and great place to stay to see things in the Amarillo Area. I would stay there again given the convenience, service, and peaceful sleep. I do have to smile that they were a little concerned with my having my do not disturb sign on my door until 11:00 a.m on my first morning there (still adjusting to California time and did not venture out to explore Amarillo till 11), but overall it was not a big deal. I would stay there again, but many are out of the Best Western mid week earlier in the morning.
Very nice clean room with very comfortable beds. Disappointed that there was no shuttle to the airport. Otherwise very good value for the money! Nice location just off of I-40. Enjoyed the Tall Texan Restaurant very near to motel.
Amarillo is always a good stop off. Location is convenient considering extensive road construction in the area at this time. Staff goes out of their way to contribute to a good experience. Desk clerks are personable and helpful. Breakfast could be a little better by having more to offer. Pool is seasonal and not open. I stayed on second floor which was very quiet. Room was clean and bed comfy.
Everything was perfect except the eggs weren't that great, they were too salty. This place is great if that's the worst and it's HEAVEN when you're on the road & missing your Home Nest. I recommend this modern, safe, comfortable bedroom away from home.
Stopped in at 1030pm .. making a trip from California to Tennessee for my wedding ...was tired of sleeping in Walmart parking lot and needed a good night sleep...check in was quick and easy ..Pablo Kennedy at the front desk was more then helpfull ,extened my check out by two hours later since I got into so late and to say congratulations on getting married ....I have basically lived in a hotel b4 for about 6 months and this hotel by far is the cleanest and most upkept I have ever stayed at you feel like you are part of the elite when staying here ....the breakfast is really good as well...thanks the staff at the Best Western sante Fe Amarillo Texas location ...
We stayed at this hotel as we passed through on our return home from Arizona. The hotel was quiet and easy to find. The room was clean & good size. Parking was convenient and provided space for oversized vehicles. The hotel was convenient to The Big Texan Restaurant which is why we stopped in Amarillo. The breakfast was of poor quality as the hot items were dried out.
The check in was painless; the staff gregarious; the lobby redecorated. It was a good middle-class experience. Oh, and the yogurt was Chobani,so I could eat it. Most yogurt is loaded with sugar or sugar substitute which I can't eat.
As usual, the entire staff was very professional and thankful for our staying here. The only problem we encountered was the accessibility of the property. It is kind of awkward coming off the east bound interstate. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
We had a decent stay at this motel. However, we inadvertently left a medium size dog food container in our room. It also contained two foil wrapped flea meds called Revolution. Upon arrival at our destination (the same day) and unloading our car we noticed our missing container and called the hotel. Their response was less than appropriate. The said nothing was found in our room. I assured them my dog was hungry and it wasn't in our car. So obviously housekeeping took it. Called back the next two days and still no luck. So we said goodbye to $45.00 worth of dog meds and $35.00 worth of dog food......... If you stay here make sure to double check your room before you leave.
This hotel was superior in all aspects from check in, to housekeeping, to breakfast when we stayed there in September 21st. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere of the clean room and the nice touches that you usually find in only the best hotels. We would definitely recommend this location and would stay there again. Donna & Marvin
There is nothing special about the Best Western Santa Fe in Amarillo Texas. It was not special nor was it overly disappointing. During my stay, I experienced two minor issues. First, it was a late, rainy night when I arrived. The clerk was on the phone with another customer and never acknowledged that I was standing there. She did not apologize or explain the 10 minute wait. The second issue was the bed. It was well worn and uncomfortable.
Best Western provided us with quick and efficient service in a handy location. It was good to see that they are embracing a save our planet policy. We had a great time and a good experience all round. We will defiantly consider Best Western hotels the next time I travel.
In our opinion, this hotel was rated fair at best. The food choice in our opinion was fair, bacon was undercooked, eggs were watery and choice of fruit was apples and bananas only. None of the cereals were sugar free, such as Cheerios or Wheaties or Special K.
Comfortable bed -clean room and hotel throughout- very welcoming staff and very helpful advice on local area -would deffinently stay again -recommend that other try. Easy walk to old town - gas station right across from hotel
Very up to date appearance. We always stay in best westerns. This one was one of the best we have stayed in. We highly recommend this location in Amarillo Texas. The rooms were very comfortable and cool when we checked in. Five star hotel in our opinion.
This is one of the smaller BW that my husband and I have stayed at. This was not on our itinerary but we stopped here after driving 12 hours and needing to drive 18 the next day to get home (due to an emergency). At first we were a little leery at the location, but it was outside of the city, so that was a plus. The hotel was nicely decorated with modern furniture. The rooms were nice, quiet and clean. The only issue we had was with the keys.....ours didn't work so we'd have to walk around to the main entrance. The breakfast was a typical Continental breakfast, but fit our needs. We ate a late dinner at the Big Texan (home of the 72 oz steak challenge).......what an experience that is......fun!
This property represents a great value for your travel dollar. Conveniently located near the Interstate exit, restaurants and fuel stops this very nicely landscaped property was just what we needed. The room was clean, tub and sink drains worked as designed, plenty of hot water, bed was comfortable and breakfast varied and nicely presented. Breakfast area a bit small, but workable. Staff is great, too. I will stay there again when in the area.
Please don't stay here, management wont talk to you when you have an issues, rooms smell like cat pee, I would stay in a super 8 or motel 6 before telling someone to stay here, keep on moving when you see this hotel, not what the brand is lived up to be everywhere else.
ON THIS TRIP OF 15 DAYS I WAS IN BEST WESTERN HOTELS IN 3 DIFFERENT CITIES FOR A TOTAL OF 10 NIGHTS. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BW! I wish they were all as nice as this one in Amarillo. It is newly redecorated, the breakfast was great, and the staff was awesome! Thank you! I had a horrible experience in Duncanville BW and this restored my Best WEstern loyalty!
It is not a bad property but could not recommend staying. Room was not cleaned very well. found drink stains on reading desk and others hair in the bathroom. The decorations of the hotel looks odd and very dark for the area its in.
We had a good nights' rest. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was well supplied with visible staff who were very helpful. We had stayed at this location a few years ago and found the same excellent service this time.
We chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and weren't disappointed. The only downer were the high taxes but that's not the fault of Best Western. Very nice property that looks like it was remodeled recently. Great breakfast and friendly personnel. Also they take dogs!
The free breakfast was outstanding, the chef of the dining room asked if everything tasted good and could she get anything more for us. So we left her a tip. The only rub was the Wifi, which didn't work and hotel staff didn't know why.
The check in staff was friendly and helpful. We prepaid and checked in late. It was a quick process and we were in bed soon. They were out of toothbrushes ( which was the only item we forgot). Once tucked into the comfortable beds we were sleeping. The early morning noises were the biggest complaint. The connecting door to the next occupied room was not sound proof. The talking and coughing was what awoke us. Other than that the sleep was pleasant.
This is a great place to stay whether for business or pleasure. Awesome staff, great accommodations. Many things to do in the area and hotel is located close to many attractions. A pleasure to stay every time.
We needed a room for 1 night and this was ok. We used the pool and enjoyed it. Request a room in the back as motel is right on busy access road. Not many choices at breakfast. Staff was friendly. I would stay here again.
The Best Western is convenient to I-40; but no traffic noise. The American Quarter horse Museum is just down the road, and so is the Big Texan Steakhouse. The drive to Palo Duro Canyon State Park is not that long. It is easy to get around Amarillo from this location.
We traveled 8600 miles back and forth across the country with a 9 month old Lab puppy and the Santa Fe Best Western in Amarillo was a great place for the puppy and us. Lots of Pet relief areas, all with doggie bags and receptacles for waste. Looks like someone cleans them daily as there was no doggie build up apparent. Breakfast was varied and fresh; I've never been given tangerines in a motel fruit bowl before. Good Beds.
Nice hotel, recently remodeled, great staff.Very fresh full breakfast.Internet is fairly slow, but will get you there. The only problem we have found is ,sometimes our room isn't as clean as other times. They have a great outdoor pool.
I've stayed here twice in the past couple of months, and probably will in the future. It is clean, well-maintained, and has a friendly, helpful staff. While not in the most ideal location, it is close to the airport and the quality of the of the hotel is a value at the price
Brandy at front desk is awesome and willing to help and went out of her way to make sure elderly parents were taken care of. Will stay here again and recommend this location to all my family members traveling to and thru Amarillo Tx.
i am trying to save money been long time holiday inn user there rit ates were to high i think the extra money and comfort is worth it location hard to find room and hallways had funky curry smell looks back to holiday inn
Best Western Amarillo Rooms clean, everything working order. Decor was good, although drapes needed to be pressed, ironed. Breakfast buffet had good assortment of hot and cold items. Price was above $100.00 per night which was a little high.
Checked in late after a long eleven hour drive. Young lady at check in was very nice and professional. (didn't catch her name) The young man checking us out in the morning was also very nice and made us more comfortable by turning the air conditioning down during breakfast.
The room and bathroom was nice and clean, and we loved the South West decorations. Would stay there again. The breakfast area was way too small. The check in & check out was quick & easy. The staff were very nice.
This is a small, remodeled hotel on the outskirts of Amarillo. The location is off the I-40 freeway in an industrial area. The staff is friendly and professional. The lobby is small, but clean and fresh. Our room had a king bed and the sleeping area is spacious, but the bathroom is a bit small due to this being an older building. The room is tastefully decorated and has a mini fridge and microwave plus the flat screen tv and desk area. It is nice also that the front desk clerk was able to suggest a restaurant nearby for dinner. It was a good night's stay.
We stopped here after a long 16 hours of straight driving from Missoula Montana. We always have had good experiences with Best Westerns throughout the US and this one was great too. Clean room, ample parking for our U-Haul truck.
Very pleasant experience, and a great value for the price. On-the-go reservation was easy online. Very clean room and bathroom. Internet access was fantastic. Friendly service. Great service at breakfast, and a very good selection, but some of the items were average quality.
This location was on our way, was on the same side of the highway as we were traveling and had plenty of big rig parking for our truck and enclosed trailer. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Everything looked very nice. Decor is contemporary. Breakfast looked good. Eggs, sausage, hash brown patties, biscuits, gravy, waffles. I'd definitely recommend this location when traveling through Amarillo.
Passed through here on the way back to Tn. The place was outstanding and the staff was very nice and helpful too. Even thought the place is close to the I-40 the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The air worked well and it was hot outside. The breakfast was good and much improved over past visits.
Very nice, large room. Every thing was new. The room had very good lighting. There was no elevator though. The wifi did not work. The desk clerk did not seem to care when we asked for help with the wifi.
We were given a nice room on the second floor. Wish I had packed a small bag. The room looked like it had been recently remodeled. Very nice contemporary look. There was a strange smell I assumed was new carpet smell. Luckily I travel with a good smelling candle. My complaint is the bedding was not warm enough. It may be summer but I sleep better under warmer covers. We were cold most of the night. Please leave an extra blanket in the room. No one wants to get dressed in the middle of the night to get a blanket.
We were 2 women traveling alone from Louisiana to California so we needed to stay where we felt safe. Best Western Santa Fe met that requirement for us. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. They had a great selection of breakfast items. We made sure to time our return trip so that we were able to stay at the Santa Fe Best Western on our return trip. The staff was awesome.
Twice this year we stayed at this particular Best Western, once with our pet and once with our grand children. We enjoyed our stay both times. The nicely decorated rooms were clean and the staff friendly and eager to assist. The breakfast was good and sufficient the first time, but needed a little help the second time. For the good modest price the experience was excellent. We will return.
We stayed one night in a double queen room. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The only thing that kept me from giving a 5 is that breakfast ends at 9 AM. I was very tired from driving so much over the past couple of weeks and it was really catching up with me. Breakfast ending at 9 AM was earlier than we experienced anywhere else. It didn't help either that the alarm on the radio came on at 5:15. It didn't occur to me to check that someone didn't set an alarm on the radio.
Excellent accommodation and great location. Would recommend to anyone traveling through Amarillo. Helpful staff and clean rooms. Easy to call ahead and make reservations. Was our half way home trip stop.
I go to the Amarillo area a couple times a year and will stay here again. The lobby has a hip modern look and the room was big and had local art on the wall. I wish they put syrup right next to the French toast sticks at breakfast but no complaints otherwise.
The hotel room was very clean, and had a fresh smell to the room and the linens. We had a long day of driving so it was nice to find a place that was close to gas station and close to walmart to get supplies to finish our long journey.
Poor odor of room. Carpet and mattress had terrible smell. Linen was stained. Will not stay at this hotel again. I travel alot and try to use Bestwestern when i can and will use Best western plus from now own.
Friendly staff, clean and spacious room, comfortable beds and pillows, small microwave and refrigerator in each room, sink w large counter separate from shower & toilet, full breakfast including Texas-shaped waffles (w whipped cream & chocolate chips- my daughter insisted I add this :-) ), sausage, biscuits, eggs, French toast & assorted cereals & located on I-40. 2 queen bed room slept 4 of us very comfortably.
Clean rooms and breakfast area, quiet rooms, modern, simple continental breakfast plus waffles, friendly staff, right off the freeway, close to restaurants. Would stay again if I was passing through town.
Every thing was great. good breakfast and room was very nice. I would like to spend more time but was in a hurry to get home. I'll be sure to stay here next time I travel across country. I'll make sure to mention this hotel to all my business people.
Awful. Carpet smells and was sticky. Don't go barefoot here! Had to use their Lysol to sort of cover the smell in room 116. Pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. Some may like HARD beds, not me. I won't ever come back.
Reserved a pet room. Called to make sure we had a first floor room, advised them that we'd be in late, car trouble. Arrive, check into a disgusting room. Eighth stay at BW with our cat and this hotel gets the award for the worst room we've been offered. Three noticeable stains on the love seat, bad smells. After some attitude from the front desk, we were offered a room that was supposedly not a pet room. We noticed only one stain on the ottoman here! Long day, very tired really needed a clean, non stinky room to sleep and leave around 6am. I get that some people may have pets that have accidents but, if that's the case, clean the room and clean it well. Don't pass it off to me and expect me to pay for a room that shouldn't have been given to anyone. I expected more out of this location (Amarillo), it was the most expensive of the BW's we've stayed at. No excuse for this stay. Called "customer service", big waste of time. They just transfer you around until you get tired of spending your time on the phone and give up. I would not believe a great review on this location. It's not near most of the hotels, I didn't feel that it was a great part of town.
Late night stop when the cheaper hotel we were going to stay at turn out to be very scary. Nice staff and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast area is very small so we grabbed coffee and picked up something down the road. This won't keep us staying here again.
The hotel was clean. We were offered a good selection for breakfast. The employee at the desk when we checked out was very helpful in getting us a reservation at one of the Best Western Hotels at our next destination.
Stopped here to and from destination. Clean and comfortable, pet friendly. Pretty much centrally located. The young man that checked me in both times was very nice and conscientious, wish I had caught his name he was very professional.
Central location to get around. Clean rooms and excellent staff. Breakfast included we stayed 3 nights and asked for multi night discount. Good for business or family. 4 in our family for $99 a night plus breakfast and swimming. If you need something they do their best to accommodate.
My daughter & I stopped overnight on our way to Arizona with her small dog. They put us in a pet friendly room on the first floor. The carpet felt damp & the room smelled very musty. We also found a large spider in the tub as soon as we got here. The room was very dated & not very clean the furniture was old & worn out. I wouldn't ever stay here again.
This is a nice hotel located just off one of the exits of Interstate 40 in Amarillo, Texas. Getting off the exit ramp and into the hotel driveway can be a memorable experience. A snapshot of Texas drivers leads me to believe the stop and yield signs are a mere suggestion. So be careful when exiting the ramp as you need to immediately turn into the hotel driveway or experience the access road system in Amarillo (not a fun thing). Once at the hotel, we were greeted warmly and our room was very nice and had a lounging space. The staff was happy to help with choosing a restaurant that was open on Sunday evening. Overall, the stay was nice, the bed comfortable, and it was nice the sink and counter was not part of the bathroom.
Even though the lobby decor was a bit outdated the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was quite small but adequate. The room was spacious and there were four soft pillows for each bed. There were plenty of cable channels to entertain. A variety of restaurants were nearby.
We are always pleased with this Amarillo Best Western. The rooms are clean and comfortable with great beds. It is close to the highway and there are many good restaurants nearby. We have stayed here previously when our travels take us through Amarillo and will be back again.
Best Western is always my first choice to stay when out of town. They are always clean. The breakfast is always good. Friendly staff that care about their customers. They always try to accommodate you as to your room needs are concerns. Not much else to say. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Stayed in a pet friendly room it was horrible! The visible stains were nasty and the room smelled horribly. The blow dry was making loud cracking noises. The room was decent sized for a family of 4. Not the best parking available. The manager was very nice and agreed that some of the carpets are bad in the rooms. She apologized saying she has been wanting tile to replace the carpet. She waved our pet fee for the night. The breakfast was average. They said they offered gluten and dairy free but they had none available when I asked.
Its hard to get a good picture of this place when looking at it from the road. Dont let it scare you off! It was clean... perfectly clean! Updated very modernly too. Upon entering the lobby, they even have ice water with slices of fruit, apples for the taking and fruit juice even in the evening. The service was better than almost anywhere we've stayed recently! The beds were comfortable. I guess what I loved the most was that the front desk people were so very nice about the pool! They kept it open for us until midnight! We had our little granddaughters with us who only wanted to swim! Towels are provided for the pool and the water was very clean and as warm as a hot tub! Perfect!
Front desk person was very accommodating getting us the rooms we wanted. We have stayed here before on our trips, as we usually go thru Amarillo on the way. This is easy to get to, and close to restaurants. Good clean place and average to better Best Western.
This hotel was perfect from the minute we pulled in. There was employees nonstop working inside and out cleaning from night late till early morning. The decor is new and modern. Rooms are spacious. Close to everything. The pool is so nice on a summer night. We enjoyed our night here so much. The employees were all so friendly and helpful. I will be back and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The room was very, very clean. Was close to stores, restaurants etc. The front desk man was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I would recommend staying here. they were also the cheapest. They also provide shuttle for the Big Texan restaurant don't see that very often.
Hotel entrance is immediately off the exit ramp with traffic coming in from the right so be careful. Thought the décor was tasteful and appealing. Good breakfast, has a heated pool, but does not have an elevator.
We stay at this motel when driving to and from Colorado to Waco, Texas. Always a great stay, they are very pet friendly, room clean and neat. Staff always polite and helpful. Internet always working, breakfast always good.
Traveling across country with pet. Called hotel to reserve and paid for a room with king bed but when arrived at room it had 2 queen beds. Not what I reserved. The woman at the desk did not inform me of any changes to my reservation and only found out when arriving to the room. Upon questioning the desk , they just said they did not have a pet friendly rooms with a king bed and she blamed the person making the reservation for the mixup. The room was average and near the rear exit door. This exit door was not locked and could be entered at will rather than using the room key card to enter. Did not feel the hotel did enough to secure the safety of the guests by not having this repaired. The hotel charged $20 for my pet. Thought I would be getting something more from the hotel for this charge over those hotels not charging for a pet. Not so. Will not return to this hotel in future passes through Amarillo but will chose another hotel.
When staying here, you're close to the interstate, convenient. They make a reservation with the Big Texan & a limo will pick you up, easy. The rooms are big, clean & comfy! We had a 1st floor room right at the door. So easy for loading & unloading. Staff is friendly, good way to start our vacation! We will stay again.
The double queen was quite spacious and very clean. The staff very friendly. We had 3 dogs with us and consider this one of the better pet accommodating hotels we've ever stayed in. The breakfast is your typical Best Western fare. Not the greatest but filling and free.
We stayed here on a business trip. I was pleasantly surprised how the brand has been updated. The modern look and feel was very welcoming. The staff was very nice and the rooms were also. However, the hot breakfast featured hard scrambled eggs, biscuits that were over baked , steamed sausage patties and flavorless coffee. I would stay here again all things considered.
Rooms are large, clean and service was very good. People there were quick to help when I though I left my phone in the room after I checked out. Also quick to help when I needed instruction about getting back on the freeway. I left before breakfast was supposed to be served but they saw to it I did not leave hungry.
Nice Hotel a little way away from the congestion of downtown Amarillo. It was easy to find, right off the Interstate going East, a little harder to get to going west. Hotel is clean, beds were comfortable, and staff was easy to work with. Breakfast was okay, nothing to brag about but filling.
The trip overall was wonderful and the stay at the Best Western Hotels that we stayed at during the trip helped tremendously to make it even better. At each location the rooms were immaculate, the staff was warm and caring and the experience at all three of them was such a great experience, can't wait to go somewhere again and stay at another Best Western. If you haven't tried a best Western, I highly recommend that you consider it, we stayed at three different ones on this trip and each was absolutely great!
We arrived late so it was especially nice to be welcomed by a pleasant staff member and a plate of cookies. Everything was pretty typical of an older property, including a small breakfast area, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. Used the guest computer in the lobby because the room Internet was not password-protected. Location was convenient to major highways.
This hotel was near Walmart and great eating places didn't understand all the circles that Texas has but once you get used to them you can get on and off the highway fairly easy. Make sure you take Exit 72 B and go on the Frontage Road because 73 which is where the hotel is you have to exit right in two the parking lot. Has great breakfast there period different from the other ones I have stayed in
We stopped on our way to and from Colorado. I looked for a place that had decent ratings and accepted pets. This hotel was great! Check-in took two minutes. The room was spotless and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast choices were great. Will definitely stay here again
Desk clerk was very unfriendly, door key to back door did not work, had to walk several hundred yards in a cold rain to enter main lobby, reported to desk clerk who acted like it was a bother to him to update my key.
This hotel was very clean, and nice. Comfortable bed nice big television, good night's rest! Convenient to the interstate. We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast. We'd definitely stay here again.
I like Best Western due to convenience price and cleanliness. Best locations in different states also the beds are very confortable, customer service is very good however it depends on the state that you visit. I recommend BW Hotels
We were very impressed with the renovations done at this hotel. We have stayed at the facility in the past and while the staff and always been pleasant, the rooms needed updating. Everything is now very clean and updated. God breakfast send friendly staff.
Nice, comfortable hotel, we always stay here when travelling to Amarillo from Canada and stay here on our way back from AZ to Canada. Room is clean, bed is comfortable and breakfast is not bad. Staff are always pleasant.
The hotel had been recently refurbished, and very nicely at that. Staff was very quick and efficient. It smelled nice when entering which was nice considering the place is down wind of a cattle/slaughter ranch. That isn't the hotels fault, it is a ways away, but boy that place makes your eyes water and your throat gag. There would not be a place in Amarillo to get away from it. Breakfast was great, but I would have like more fruit choices, they had the standard apples, oranges and bananas. very comfortable room and beds.
We have stayed here before and like it. It is a good hotel, not fancy but always comfortable and quiet even though it is on the interstate. The beds are quite comfortable and the rooms are clean and neat.
Room was very clean, beds firm and comfortable. We were traveling with a big dog and the staff treated us great. Very easy to make reservation and staff was great when we showed up at 11:30 PM at night.
Pet friendly. Not much to walk dog other than hotel sides. If looking for long scenic views it is a no go. Breakfast typical for hotel. Room beds middle of road. Pool was cold but clean. Check in staff was great. Luggage kart had flat tires but during entire trip across did not find many that worked. Typical for karts.
Booked off of AA miles. Most reviews were very good with a couple outliers. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised. Very clean and modern. Nice size room with a sofa to relax on. No noise from the Interstate and only 1.5 miles from the Big Texan Steakhouse. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Clean, large rooms with comfortable beds and a nice done bathroom. Plenty of outlets for our electronics. Not a large number of towels - only one per person, but overall, very nice. The breakfast was very good - they have great biscuits!
I stayed here on my way to Austin with my dog. The hotel was pet friendly and actually had a nice open field next to the hotel and doggie clean up bags in a dispenser outside. When I went to load my car in the morning, my battery had run down. I thought I may need to call a towing service but one of the ladies from housekeeping had a set of jumper cables and a man from maintenance used his pickup help jump my car! The rooms were nice with all the expected amenities and they served a hot breakfast.
You need to find air freshener that does not smell strong. Non Chemical!!! Hotel clerks need to be more understanding when people have lung problems and not be rude! Sheets should not be washed with scents.
Easy check-in and out. Friendly staff. Comfortable, clean bed. Room was comfortable, ac/heat worked well, internet worked well. Bath was clean. Good bath products. Breakfast was usual fare, but very good. Overall, very pleased with this hotel and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Amarillo. Convenient location.
While traveling from the east coast to the west, my wife called this hotel while we were still on the freeway to reserve a room. She tried three times in 45 minutes but no one answered the phone. She finally called the 800 number. She asked if there was room to park a U haul trailer and some place we could walk to eat. She was told yes to both questions. When we got there, we were told to park our SUV and U haul out back on a dirt lot behind the hotel. I was told to park behind a white truck; see photo. That clearly had a red curb. The area was dimly lit. The room was cramped with two queen size beds. It took forever to get hot water in our room. There was no place within walking distance to eat. It was a pet friendly hotel, but only had two small strips of grass. Timothy Glass, author of Just This Side of Heaven and Postcards
Stayed there on a Saturday night coming in from vacation. Very clean, staff was very courteous and friendly and well informed. Our room was very spacious and clean and so nice. There's not anything bad to say about the room. The breakfast was not he best in the world, but it worked. Will be back.
This was our first time at this hotel. Over the years we have stayed at many different hotels in Amarillo and I have to say this was by far the best. We will return again. You can't go wrong staying here.
Relaxing stay. Nice clean up to date room. Really comfortable bed and pillows. Slept very well. Very quiet room even with being on I-40. Not only did I not hear the interstate, but I didn't hear the adjoining room or hallway noise. Great value! Met all expectations. We slept so well that we slept through breakfast. We hope to try their breakfast the next time we come through Amarillo. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
Hotel foyer is very pleasing to the eye. Bed was very comfortable. We arrived late in the evening and the clerk was very quick to get us settled into a room. The breakfast was difficult as one person had gluten and dairy allergies and there was very little to choose from. Overall I recommend this hotel to anyone travelling through the area.
I booked this Best Western on my points and was really annoyed at check in that they did not have the room I had booked available. This hotel used lots of points. We have stayed at a lot better properties that used less points. The fellow at check in was very I cannot think of another word, Snotty,. We opted to take a lesser value room that was not pet friendly. We do not have pets with us. Most Best Western will offer you a better quality room in this case. Not this one! Also no acknowledgement that you are a platinum member. This hotel has been remodeled and they did a very good job. Rooms are very nice and clean. The breakfast was really good and the morning staff was also very good and professional. This hotel is not close to much of any restaurants without driving.
Got the price via ...wasn't expecting much but located right on Frontage Road so easy on-off access and it was a great room, very comfortable with a desk attendant that just couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The room was quite clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was just fine. Staff really could not have been more hospitable!
I can tell you have done to work on this hotel. The bathroom had been fully redone. The furnishings were is great condition. It was is very nice condition. The price was great considering the others in the area. The short trip to great food was also a nice plus.
The room was very clean and quiet for all the transient travelers that were staying the night. The check in/out procedures were fast and quite efficient. The hotel was somewhat easy to find and because it was at night it appeared that there were quite a few guest staying for the night. It appeared to be many bikers in town for the night.
Made reservations on the Best Western website for our one night stay in Amarillo. The lady working the front desk was very nice and accommodating. My husband has trouble walking so she was able to give me an ADA room I requested very close to the lobby. Had no trouble finding a restaurant nearby for dinner. Room was nice and clean. Hotel is close to the freeway but did not hear any noise from it. Breakfast area is basically the lobby area. Small but we did get a table. Breakfast had a nice selection and the lady kept it well stocked and clean. Very pleased with our stay and will definitely stay here again if in the area.
The room smelled of over sprayed room freshener. The curtains went over the AC unit making it difficult to maintain a steady comfortable temperature. I tried folding the curtains into the window sill. Hair dryer had an automatic nite light that kept flashing like a strobe. Couldn't find any washcloths until after my shower. Towels were like gauze. Nicely redecorated lobby.
Overall a fine stop. Nice breakfast, clean throughout, very good bed, Free WiFi, good location. fine service, good restaurants in the area. If on the road, call by 4:30 PM for availability and prices.
We hated to walk on the floor in our room it was sticky and dirty. We did tell the front desk. Everything else was fine. Not the best breakfast but okay. We would try it again if we could check the room first.
When approaching this property from the east on I-40, this hotel is not easy to find. Shortly after exiting I-40 there is a small sign partially obstructed by a tree. The sigh reads Best Western and shows an upside down U. We missed the sign. Had we seen it, it would have had no meaning. When we called the Best Western from the parking lot of a Motel Six, the desk clerk was not helpful. When asked if she was located east or west of the Motel Six she did know. When asked if she was located north or south of I-40, she did not know. She told us she was near a Valero Gas station, of which, there are numerous ones in Amarillo. We finally found the property but the search left us frustrated. It appears to be an older, but well maintained, property with fresh paint and new carpet. Breakfast was below average
This is a very very nice motel. From the outside it looks plain but the inside has been totally remodeled and decorated and is amazing. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the bathroom and flooring is totally upgraded with tile and real or well simulated granite. The frig has a small freezer if you have ice packs and keeps your food well cooled. Breakfast is hot, with variety and delicious. We will stay here every time we travel west to east and back again.
Thought we have always enjoyed staying at Best Western hotels, this particular one disappointed us . It was overpriced for the area it is situated in. The lobby is small, which is also the breakfast area. Had eight tables available for the whole hotel. The food was not edible. Egg omelets were rubbery, gravy for biscuits was as watery as soup. The room itself is okay, but no elevator, and no disability handrails at all in the bathrooms. Will not stay at this property again.
Website was not easy to use on a mobile device after finding a way around that reservation were made. On check in the young man got easily fluster when I questioned the charges. Several people waiting to check in for over an hour. After getting bill straight an hour later we weren't pleased with the room. It was not up to BW standards. Bed wasn't the pillow top advertised and not sure it was queen sized. Towels were thin and old. Too bad as the place is in a great location and was full. Breakfast was thin on food and not much space for eating as it was packed and standing room only at 0830. Could use some work.
When traveling through the Texas Panhandle I always stay in Best Western hotels. In Amarillo this hotel is very convenient, has easy access from Highway, but no noise problem as many do. There are many good restaurants in Amarillo, and the staff here can recommend several. Breakfast is good and staff is always helpful if you have a problem.
This place looks almost brand new. It is clean quit and very comfortable. The breakfast is good. The staff is very good. For of you motorcycle riders, they have rags for you to wipe your bike down with.
This place is only one mile from the American Quarter Horse Museum and situated on I-40. Access to I-40 East and West is quick and easy; I-27 interchange only a few miles west. A nice place to stay when visiting the Big Texan Restaurant and museums in Amarillo.
Very nice hotel...the bed and pillows were very comfortable! The staff was very nice .the hotel seemed updated & was very clean. The breakfast was good & filling. The big Texan restaurant was nearby which was nice
The Staff was very nice. The room was alright. The hotel was difficult to find as it was off the Interstate and on a side road - typical for this area, though. The rooms were quiet, but the noise from the INterstate could be heard all night long.
Nice location right off the 40 and close to plenty of restaurants, including the Big Texan! Our room was clean and quiet. The bed, although comfortable, did seem a little worn. The pillows were small with the foam chunks. Not comfortable to me. Breakfast was the typical complimentary items. Good and filling, but nothing special. Would I stay here again? Yes! I'd just bring my own pillow!
Excellent Staff and up-to-date amenities! Staff was quite professional and they work to take care of all your needs! The rooms are very clean ad provide all the necessities to get anyone by for single or multiple nights. The pool area was kept in excellent condition and was open to all who decide to use it. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone in the area as the staff and amenities are excellent!
First stop of our way back home from Phoenix. Got in late, no problems with check-in. Very comfortable room. The best part of the stay was the next morning during breakfast. We have stayed in a number of hotels that offered free breakfast and this was the BEST! We would surely stay at this location again.
Hotel has very new updated rooms and comfortable beds. It looks very clean and is close to The Big Texan Steakhouse. I would stay here again. My only complaint is that the room seemed a little damp and it was more expensive than the Best Western I stayed at in Oklahoma City.
Very easy on/off I-40 yet no problems with traffic noise. Check-in was easy and above par - after check in I decided I wanted to be on the other side of the building (due to weather) and the clerk changed my room with no fuss. Room was good size and had a slightly larger than standard refrigerator. The beds were comfortable, the shower and commode are in bathroom while sinks are in the entryway hall, and room was generally clean. The downgrade here is the carpet needed a shampoo or replacement. It looked dull, felt waxy, and when I used a tissue to sop up water splashed from sink, it came up dirty. The breakfast was standard and well stocked.
One of the best I have stayed in. Clean, Best Lighting ever, and actually felt like home. Was quiet and was very comfortable. They added the touch of a little bag with goodies in it on our arrival. Nice touch. It was a pleasant stay and would recommend it to family and friends.
We stayed here for one night whilst doing Route 66. On arrival we checked in and spend a couple hours in the pool which we had to ourselves which was very relaxing after a long drive. Room was a very good size, comfortable and had everything we were looking for. Breakfast didn't have many options for me although I'm vegan so never expect too much. If you eat meat and dairy then I think it looked a very good breakfast. Location was great, short drive to the big Texan and Jason's deli, plus a huge Walmart which stocks everything and more. Only negatives were no lift or gym and the laundry machine was broke. All we needed was a comfortable one night stay and it certainly provided that. I would definitely recommend this hotel
We got in late and were very tired. The front desk was very helpful and the decor was nice. When we opened the door to the room, the aroma was unpleasant. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, but the room just smelled old. I have a sensitive nose so it may not bother everyone, in which case the stay was good.
What a comfortable stay for my puppy. Bella was happy, I was happy. For sure if I am in the area, definitely I will stay over in this hotel. Try it your self and see how great the breakfast is. the walking area for my dog was sufficient and Bella enjoyed the area too.
On our 4 week road trip, we stayed in Best Westerns the whole way and this was by far the worst. First of all, this hotel is in a somewhat sketchy looking area and the door from the outside, which was supposed to require a key, was left unlocked day and night. The breakfast area was tiny and it was very busy when we were there - we had to wait for a table. The poor woman working there could not keep up with the demands such as running out of orange juice, eggs etc. Other staff members were standing around, but did not help her. We also wanted to use our reward points for a free room, but were told we could not do so without having arranged it online prior to making the reservation. A few other Best Western hotels we stayed in on our trip had honored the points on the spot. Would recommend finding another place to stay in Amarillo.
The hotel was fairly easy to get to off the interstate, and they did put us in a room with very little traffic noise. Other than the parking lot behind the hotel, which was used by 18-wheelers during the evening. Fortunately they didn't come in and out all night long, because they were very loud when they were in use. But the main reason for the poor review is service-related. When we got there the place was empty, and it didn't seem to be that full even when we left in the morning. So why wouldn't they give us any extra pillows? When I called the desk to ask for them, all the clerk said was "we don't have any extra pillows, just the ones in the room". I have never heard of a hotel where this is true. I guess this is another example of the "we don't make mistakes" attitude mentioned in another review. In any event, we won't be staying at this hotel again with that sort of "service attitude".
Hotel is updated with well decorated/clean rooms. Bedding was comfortable. Good, free hot/cold breakfast served in the lovely lobby. Our room was very quiet. Would stay again. Many restaurants are within an easy drive. Situated right off I-40.
On arrival, we were welcomed by a grouchy woman at the front desk. We had reservations stating we had a dog. She asked and we said yes. So the room she was going to give us was not not a "dog room" so we could come back in 2 or 3 hours to be with the dogs. We were not told that their would be a fee for a dog but there was on the bill the next morning. Very happy to have Amarillo in my rear view mirror. Also very expensive for what it is.
Came to Amarillo for the AQHA art show and sale and stayed at the Santa Fe for 4 nights. Rooms were great and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Hotel was located very close to various attractions and the I-40 freeway.
We went to Amarillo, TX to go to the play at Palo Pinto Canyon and visit with some friends and family. We enjoyed the stage show and the drive through the park and the massive view. The play was great and the pass had cool breeze, had a great time.
It was nicer than we expected because the surrounding location was a bit "iffy." It's on the east side of city, so was a good stopping place coming back from Colorado on the way to Dallas. Room was larger than usual. Very clean. There's a designated area for dogs with waste bags supplied. Breakfast assistant provided a tray for me to carry several things back to room - she was very friendly and helpful.
This has got to be the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful and the pool is wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable, as well as, pillows. They had the A/C on high when we came in which is great because you don't have to wait for the room to cool down, just jump in bed and sleep. The pool was not open when we came, I guess they were cleaning it, not sure. Breakfast was good, the food tasted real. No complaints, will return!!
EXCELLENT: ideal location for an overnight stay, just off the Highway. The hotel is well maintained, our room was clean and the king bed was comfortable. The staff at the reception desk were friendly, helpful and efficient. This is obviously a very well managed hotel. Would definitely recommend.
Poor, pool closed, freeway noise excessive, shower handle worn or broken and the most expensive best western we stayed at, the best westerns in Albuquerque and Arkansas were cheaper and twice as nice.
Had adjoining rooms since traveling with family. Rooms were spacious and convenient to dining, attractions etc. Easy to find of Interstate. Nice rooms with comfy king bed. Interior rooms but no elevator ( 2 floors ) Friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Good BF. Would stay here again.
We stayed in a double queen bed room. Very clean, ac was excellent and the beds/pillows were cozy. Loved the modern look and design. Very relaxing. The complimentary toiletries were definitely spa inspired. We went swimming at 8:30pm and it was breezy and chilly. The front desk lady came out and turned up the heater for the pool water for our remaining swim. Thought that was very thoughtful and great customer service considering we didn't even ask. The morning breakfast was full of yummy options and plenty of breakfast seating.
Enjoyed my stay, the room was very clean, no smells, the room looks very good and is in a good location very close to food places . The staff is friendly and it was a safe hotel and they have good breakfast.
We have stayed at this facility before and were pleased so we decided to stay here again. We had a good experience this stay just like last time. The facility is easily accessed from the interstate and yet is quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast had a good assortment of items and were very good. We would recommend this facility to anyone in the area.
We were passing through Amarillo and decided to stay here because I have a dog and they are pet friendly. The person at the desk was friendly and helpful. Our room was large and clean. The location is not the best, but our room on the first floor near the back was quiet. If you were outside it was noisy from the freeway. The price was good and everything was fine. It has a microwave and fridge in the room. The breakfast was better than most. If you have a disability you must stay on the first floor because no elevator. Our stay was pretty good. I'd stay again if I was coming back hi way 40.
Very retro lobby. Rooms were clean and quiet. Was a little creapy neighborhood off freeway. We used outside pool. Very nice and quiet night after long day of driving. Internet was slow at times but was able to load.
If you look at my other reviews you will find I am a big fan of hotwire. So after Hotwire booked my family and I here for two nights, I got a little worried about some of the reviews I read. I was really surprised when I first walked in to check in it was really updated and the front desk staff was super friendly. We got checked in and realized our room was on the second floor and there was not an elevator which is a little bit of a struggle with 3 kids but we managed :) The pool felt amazing and was super clean, our room was very clean and spacious as well. The breakfast had a great variety both days and was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this hotel!
The front desk agent was rude and refused to do anything when I complained that my room smelled like animal urine. There was a partially eaten biscuit from another guest left under the sink in the room. The room wasn't clean and the front desk made no attempt to correct any issues.
My friend and I were so amazed when we walked in the door! Beautifully decorated , modern and stylish. The receptionist was so kind , professional and helpful. Reached our room, and wow!!!! So beautiful! A complimentary hot breakfast served in the morning - what a selection ! The pool area is exceptional too. Highly recommend
This hotel was convenient for travelers, but not so conveniently located for dinner or any shopping. The hotel was clean and reasonably updated. They seem to cater more to truckers. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Overall it I would say it was above average value, and pet friendly.
Prepaid for my room. Three says later they charged our other credit card for it. Twice. No biggie, called to resolve, was told to call back later. Worst customer experience in a long time. Done with Best Western I guess forever.
The hotel is very nice. Beds are comfy. Average breakfast with sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles and cereal. We have stayed there several times. We enjoy the Limo Ride to the Big Texan for dinner. We also used a coupon for joining the best western rewards program and were able to save $50 on the rate.
I am handicapped and requested a room on the ground floor when reserving a room as there was no elevator. Upon check in I was told our room was on the second floor. I asked Natasha (the employee checking in guests) that I unable to navigate steps, were there any rooms left on the ground floor. She said yes, but all rooms were preassigned and she would not flip rooms with another guest. I told here that I had requested a ground floor when I reserved. She said they do not make mistakes at that hotel. I asked if she was implying I was lying. Her response, "Yes mam, you are a liar." So after slowly navigating the steps to get to my room I could not leave the room until check out as the steps were too difficult. Insulted minimizes how I felt. The room also had been smoked in.
We stayed here one night as part of a road trip, and it served our purposes just fine. We were looking for a hotel that accepted dogs, and this fit the bill. The room we stayed in (118) was heavily perfumed and the carpet was still wet when we arrived, but by morning the scent had dissipated and the dog smell was starting to creep in. Luckily we were leaving soon, but I did keep all of our bags and clothes off the floor because I knew what was under that perfume smell! Amarillo isn't much to look at, and arriving at night we were unsure what to expect from the surrounding area. It looked just a tad dodgy, so we unpacked our cargo rack and brought all of our many bags inside. (At check-in a woman was looking for her dad who may have stayed there the night before, and the details of their relationship was unclear. This was the first interaction I witnessed in Amarillo, which may have set the tone!) In the morning, my husband and I realized it was just an industrial area, but seemed plenty safe. There were mostly elderly people with dogs staying here, as well as families. Breakfast was fine. Plenty of choices for all types of eaters. Our room window was right by the back door where people were smoking, so that wasn't great for our son who has asthma. We couldn't open the windows, and the AC unit brought some of the bad air in. That was probably the only drawback to the layout of the hotel rooms. The rooms do have a fridge and microwave in case you need it. Our room had the sink outside of the bathroom, which was a little awkward but ok functionally. Bathrooms were very basic, again, just fine for what we were expecting. For the area, the price seems a tad high. We might stay again if we see a promotion the next time we are passing through.
We were rolling through Amarillo as part of a mighty cross country road trip. We snapped up the Santa Fe (and we stayed in Santa Fe NM the night before) and were delighted by the modern clean rooms and futuristic lobby. The location and exterior belies the coolness within. The pool was just okay. The breakfast was super and I loved the regular Sunday paper. Nice stay.
This was the second night of a 13 night vacation for us. The lobby is very 'glam' and quite contemporary...definitely NOT what you would think when you say 'Texas!" The room was great and comfy, really liked the bathroom decor. The grounds were very well kept and really clean! Would definitely stay here again!
This BW is in a great location on the interstate for our purposes. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast choices were adequate and my granola and yogurt were great. Lobby and breakfast area was pretty small, but seemed to accommodate everybody. Our only complaint is being next to a pet friendly room with barking dogs. Very annoying. Would have liked to know that when checking in. Otherwise, a nice stay.
After staying at the BestWestern Santa Fe, which was lovely. Clean and comfortable, I forgot my glasses. The staff was helpful and proactive helping me get the glasses sent ahead to our next destination. I was so pleased!!! Thanks BW Santa Fe!!! You guys ROCK!!!
Great location and even though on the interstate the room are very quiet. Great location if you want to eat at the Big Texan! Air con unit very effective in the room which was greatly appreciated. Good selection of buffet breakfast and ample parking.
The hotel was clean. The staff was o.k., but a little lackadaisical. The computer in the lobby didn't work, and the staff member was nice about it, but didn't fix the problem. The hotel is located on the far east side of town, which was not the best location for us. I didn't realize this when I booked it. It wasn't a bad location, just not as close to food, gas and Palo Duro Canyon as I would have liked.
I'll start with the most important thing. This is a very nice hotel, but it is two floors with no elevator. So, if you have issues with stairs, be sure to get a room on the first floor. When we arrived, we had been assigned a king room on the second floor. My husband has back issues and could not carry our bags up the stairs. The young woman at the check-in desk was very nice about it and, although there was not a king available on the first floor, she was able to change us to a double queen. The hotel looks to be fairly recently renovated and all was clean and comfy. There is a microwave in every room, although the website says "microwave available." We had no road noise from the highway. The air conditioner has an always on setting for the fan. I really like that. A nice breakfast--scrambled eggs, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, waffles, etc. Pretty standard. My one disappointment was the only grownup cereal available was raisin bran. Coffee was GOOD! That's not always the case in hotels. If I were passing through Amarillo again, I would definitely stay here!
The location is easily accessible from Interstae 40. Upon check in the receptionist was very friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are updated and very nice! The beds are very comfortable. Brteakfast is the standard BW breakfast, though I did not find any bananas or yogurt.
We stayed here twice on our trip--once on the way to and once on the way back. Clean and cheery. There is a fruit lemonade when you check in--and on the return trip they offered freshly baked cookies! Rooms are pleasant. The location is strange--not an area you want to take a walk in--but they cannot control that. Breakfast is decent.
Do NOT stay at this hotel. Walking bare foot on the carpet left black dirt on the bottom of my feet. The room appeared to be well cared for and clean. However, the floors were filthy and it gave me the creeps when I wiped my feet clean and the wash cloth was black!!!!! There also was a very strong odor of air freshener when we entered, I guess to cover up the smell of the floor.
They were very accommodating. Needed reservation and an early check in which they did graciously. Room was adequate , clean and comfortable. The only issues was the magnetic strip keys were a problem for a lot of guests, and there were absolutely no restaurants anywhere near the property.
Our room was fairly large, quiet, and clean for a pet friendly place. The A/C unit functioned well to help keep the room temperature at a comfortable level. To my surprise, the carpet, bed, and the furniture in the room looked quite new. The bathroom was okay and functional. The internet connection was decent with a download speed of 13 and upload speed of 2. Breakfast was okay. The waffle batter was definitely watered down in comparison to the other hotel we stayed in. Overall, a decent place to stay when you are passing through Amarillo.
Easy check in, room was clean if somewhat outdated. Pet friendly & I got the first floor room I requested. Convenient parking & nice staff. Good breakfast. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable. The wifi was good & it was free. Would recommend for travelers passing thru.
Quiet, clean, comfortable place to stay. We always stay here. It is a completely smoke free motel, which is always a first rate plan. If you want a great little motel to stay in, this is your best plan.
Very nice facilities. Staff were polite and professional. Room décor was fitting for the region. Modern and maintained facilities. Breakfast was delicious. Internet quality was good. Location was convenient for a visit to downtown Santa Fe. Would recommend and stay again. Thanks.
The hotel meets the needs of the average traveler. The interior, in particular was up to date and clean. Check in-check out was was nicely handled. I prefer locations in the suburbs but this hotel is located centrally in amarillo with great access to I-40. The hotel has two levels and there is no elevator.
This small two-story motel reminded us of motels of old along Route 66 except that it is quite modern and well-kept. We saw people quietly doing maintenance the entire time we were there. We have a feeling it may be a favorite place for Europeans exploring Route 66 as there was a very large group from Switzerland, some in a large van and some on motorcycles. Many of them enjoyed the outdoor pool as we read poolside. Our two-queen room was quite adequate for my husband and me and our eighteen-year-old granddaughter. It was nice to have the sink separate from the bathroom. The person manning the desk was quite helpful when we were concerned our air conditioning was not working. The surroundings of the motel consist of truck parking lots, and food was probably a bit of a drive. However, it has easy access on and off I-40. We had our own food and the room had a refrigerator and a microwave. The beds were comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by this little motel.
great location next to I 40 close to gas station nice room and very good breakfast we have stayed there twice on our trips home and will stay there again we arrive early evening after 700 miles of driving for a good nights sleep and are off early in the morning
We travel with two small dogs. This was a very clean, reasonable hotel to stay with dogs. Room was clean, staff was great. I would recommend this hotel. Beds were comfortable, room clean. Easy to find.
We have stayed here for four years on our way from Phoenix to Philadelphia. The location is extremely convenient--right off I-40. Rooms are very nice and pet friendly. Only one complaint: we never stay for breakfast because we drive early. However, we do get some coffee which we were told was ready, but it was absolutely cold.
Reservation was made in advance via the Best Western 1-800 number for a room that is both mobility accessible and pet friendly, and the e-mail I received confirmed that. When we arrived about 8:00 PM after driving all day, the desk clerk told me that all the handicap accessible rooms are not pet friendly and all the pet friendly rooms are not handicap accessible. She had NO suggestions as to where else we might try, remarking before she turned away "you are welcome to take your business elsewhere." I blame both the reservation - taker for not knowing and not checking, and also the property management for allowing employees to feel no need to be helpful.
Check in was easy, the staff were very friendly. I had a cat with me and they put me in a pet friendly room for only $20 more. Some hotels charge way more for pets. The room was nice, very clean and comfortable beds.
Traveling with a new pet, motel was awesome, could not have been happier. Great to book room, fantastic when we arrived, great service and check-out. Location was great, breakfast very good, all in all a very good experience
Friendly & helpful folks. There is a limo provided if you are interested in eating at the Big Texan & our reservations were taken care of by the young man checking us in. Express check out is leaving your keys in the room, made it very convenient. No street noise even being near the interstate. We would stay here again.
The location is convenient to the eastbound I-40 and only a bit more convoluted westbound. The rooms were clean and in good condition, The staff was outgoing and friendly. Even though the Interstate was close, the rooms were quiet. The pool is beautiful. The free breakfast was worth the price paid, and that is about all that I can say about that. The Big Texan steak place is a couple of exits east on the interstate. See my review of that.
We are Best Western Loyalty members so always seek out this hotel on road trips. The hotel is updated but there is no elevator to the second floor. It is also somewhat remote so necessary to drive to a restaurant for dinner. It was the priciest of all of the Best Westerns we had stayed out (10) during the past 12 months. Breakfast area is small and located next to the check in desk. The "World Famous" Big Texan Restaurant is a short drive and has a wonderful gift shop with Texan and Route 66 memorabilia/souvenirs.
An excellent place to stay and relax. Close to city center and tourist areas. Staff and facilities were excellent. Other customers were considerate and enjoyable. The room was very comfortable and spacious.
Refurbished building in a seedy part of town. Lots of noise from I-40, airport and guests. The building does not seem to have much soundproofing. Not close to restaurants. Best Western tried to make the lobby an attractive place and succeeded. But we won't be staying there again.
Easy access from freeway if the GPS directions had been correct! Even though we entered the correct address, GPS took us to the opposite side of the freeway. Check-in was quick and efficient and freshly baked cookies were offered. Our room was very clean and had plenty of room, including a sitting area with a sofa, to accommodate our large dog crate. The only negative was the small breakfast room which shared the reception area. We arrived a little late so there was room, but it was the smallest of all the hotels we stayed in during our 2 week road trip and would have had a seating problem if more than 5 or 6 rooms ate at the same time. The food, however, which included homemade biscuits and gravy was pretty good and the lady who prepared breakfast made a point to come out and ask if we enjoyed our meal. I would definitely stay here again.
was not charged for my pet upon arrival, but told at check out there would be an additional $20 added to the Bill PLUS TAX. Web site not clear about mentioning the pet, just says they are pet friendly.
I would recommend this hotel. We just stopped for one night on our way to Houston, TX. It was off the highway and it was a little noisy from the traffic and trains but something I expected when I booked it. The hotel is very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The price was excellent.
clean place overall a high for what you get, but it was clean. Breakfast was ok and staff was pleasant and friendly. Biggest downfall was no elevator as we were traveling for 2 weeks and had big suitcases to carry up the stairs
Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel staff was personable and friendly. The breakfast was the usual fare, but the scrambled eggs the first morning were obviously powered. The next morning there were omelets that were very good.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was good and they even filled our coffee thermos to go! And our dog Jax loved meeting other friends! We would definitely stay again! I have 5 stars!!!
We felt right at home during our stay here. We usually stay with Marriot but for some reason I booked with Best Western on my most recent trip with my daughters and I have to say, we will definitely be staying with Best Western more often.
We are giving this place a 4 because of cleanliness and being fairly updated. But, our room had a pretty bad odor. Maybe it was because it was a pet friendly room, we were traveling with our dog. We were too tired to complain or change rooms. The lights in our bathroom went out around 6am when myhusband was in shower. Good thing he was pretty much done. One of their generators had quit. They had a full breakfast but scrambled eggs were rubbery. Honestly, we thought rate was a little high but it was comfortable and clean.
This is our first visit here. Very clean and seems to be well maintained and neat. We needed "pet friendly" place, and found it! Our room is quite large, plenty of space for big dog bed, etc. The fridge is larger than we've seen in most motels, and there is a good assortment of spa products. Nicely done, Best Western!
This is a good motel once you find it. The address on the Best Western website should be more specific. It has to be on the I-40 Access road or the GPS has wrong location. A call to the motel was required to get the exact location.
This was a typical close to the highway hotel, but we were greeted with just out of the oven chocolate chip cookies! The fact that they have a shuttle to a steak house was appreciated since there is nothing else close.
This trip was our Spring break get away to visit the Pala Duro Canyon The rooms were clean and update the property must be new.. The towels are small and thin hard to get dry with one towel.Be carefull exiting the freeway to turn in very dangerous
This motel is located close to IH40. It was easy to find. Plenty of parking. Rooms were clean and neat, staff was friendly & helpful. Good value for the price. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices, minimum seating though.
Except for some minor cleanliness, maintenance, and employee issues, this is a good home away from home. I hope that this hotel can correct the small issues that they're having. Then they would be a great hotel that I'd even consider for vacation stays.
So often I have booked a hotel through a third party and been disappointed. Although it may be a struggle to get the direct phone number to the actual hotel in which I am sleeping has proved to be the ONLY way to guaranteed receiving what was promised. I need a first floor or elevator. I want a bath tub not just a shower. Santa Fe Best Western provides if contacted directly every time. Also a thank you to two employees at the front desk: Rainy and Amy made our stay either with extra blankets or mopping up a huge spill.
The staff was most courteous and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We would like to stay here again, the bed was very comfortable and location is conveniently off I 40.Room was very clean and well stocked with all the necessities.
Good average place to stay. Felt secure as all perimeter doors were locked. A little too close to the interstate so a little highway noise is present, Price is a little high for the area. Hotel has been remodeled.
We were moving cross country and didn't want to stray too far from the interstate we would use to continue our journey. However, I have been less than impressed with the hotels near a major highway as they always seem to trade convenience for quality. However, that was NOT the case here. The BW property is a bit away from the exit intersection in a more solitary location and very well taken care of. Obviously, it has been remodeled and is beautifully done. Very clean and bright. The parking lot was well lit, too. Breakfast was so great - in fact the best of our 4 day trip - it would not surprise me to learn that they used a full service stove (although my husband was not a fan of the gravy). My only pout is that there was no personal body lotion for me to use, so I had to dig out my own.
When we checked into the Best Western Santa Fe the desk clerk told us that the Best Texas Restaurant offerred a free shuttle service to their Restaurant and he very kindly made dinner reservations for us. What an experience for anyone visiting Amarillo. The young man on the desk was most cordial and helpfull. We were really made to feel welcome.
Great place to stay. We would stay there again in a heart beat. Were traveling to Sedona AZ and were pleased with all five Best Western's we stayed at on our trip. My husband and I look only at Best Western hotels and on this trip with the points system were able to receive one night free - a $100 plus hotel. All of the hotels were clean and we had everything we needed including an extra blanket for the night.
Charge for pets for no apparent reason other than gouging patrons. Pet area littered with feces, no clean up station provided but $20.00 fee charged. What is the fee for? Is it harder to vacuum the room, apparently it is not used for clean up of dog walking area or for providing doggie bags for patrons to pick up after there pets.
room was clean. parking easy, location right off highway. but the rooms are very loud - no sound proofing. doors and windows rattled all night --- thought someone was breaking in. not a very restful nights sleep. computer in business center is iffy --- doesn't work. nice quick breakfast - coffee, cereal, sweet stuff to go.
We were driving from Chicago to Palm Desert with my wife and standard poodle. We had a wonderful experience with the BW in Springfield Mo. Whe we arrived at the front desk in Amarillo we were greeted by a young man who couldn't see for the hair in his face. Had to wait to check in. Asked him about dinner, he recommended a place who he said would pick us up in a limo. I said I would drive there. His directions were only five miles off. I think he was on the take from the restaurant. When we got in the room the mat in the tub was so terrible, dirty underneath. Totally unacceptable. We attempted to ring the front desk, but no one answered after four long tries. This is not the type of place I could recommend even to my worst enemy. It was even worst than what I am saying here, but I don't this for a living. Just don't stay there!!!
The hotel was wonderful. Large room, Clean. Comfortable. Staff was polite and friendly. Helpful and informative. I would be very happy to stay at this particular hotel again when traveling through or stay in Amarillo, Texas. The room was more than comfortable for any length of stay.
This is a clean, quiet hotel. Even with trucks parked all around and right off the highway. We didn't hear them, and we were on the first floor. It is a few miles outside of Amarillo and on the frontage road. Nice, hot breakfast. Friendly staff.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Go out of their way to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Hotel is very clean with new and modern decor. Price is very reasonable and anymore only place I stay when visiting Amarillo. Great place to stay when on business as well, staff would help me with copies and not charge...????
The employees were very nice and helpful. the stay was great and perfect for our needs. The rooms were comfortable and the continental breakfast was good. We needed to leave a vehicle at the motel for a couple of days and the manager was very helpful with that.
The night desk clerk was very helpful and accommodating. The bed was super comfortable. The room was in a quiet location. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, waffles, fruit. The whole hotel appeared to be newly decorated. Good experience.
On our way to Colorado. Staff was very helpful. Hotel was perfect for the price. Breakfast was fresh, coffee excellent. Easy to get to, and very good quality for he price. We love Best Western because their quality and value are consistent no matter where we stay.
Upon my arrival I was greeted at the front desk. Once I presented my identification I pleasantly surprised that my room keys had already been processed for me and my bill for the room had also already been prepared ahead of time for me. It was great to see a staff that thought ahead and had things prepared in advance for my arrival. Check in was very streamlined and efficient. That was very appreciated from someone who had just spent several hours traveling. The rooms were great and very spacious, beds were very comfortable in my opinion. The hotel is located right next to the highway, just off a frontage road. The only down thing I can say about the hotel is the location here. The area is slightly creepy looking at night.
The lobby is nice and the room was clean. The bed was excellent as all Best Western beds are. The heater in the room smoked so we could not use it. The breakfast was one of the worst we have had at Best Western. Very few selections and what there was not very good.
We were travelling and needed to stay the night. The staff were helpful at check in. The room was on the larger size and well appointed. There were open areas to walk our dog around the property. We encountered a problem not related to our stay and the staff were VERY undrestanding. They helped us by contacting people, and allowed us to remain past check out without penalty.
We have stayed at this hotel twice now. They have the most considerate, helpful, friendly staff of any hotel we've ever stayed at. The king rooms were the same price as the standard room and the staff just goes out of there way to make sure you are happy with your choice to stay there.
With tax the total cost for a room here was $92 for two people when we came through on a drive back to Oklahoma from Colorado. The budget place across the interstate was packed and they referred us here. It was about double the price but was SOOO worth it for a very nice and relaxing evening after driving all day and prepping for another all-day drive the next day. Location was right off the interstate (40). Check-in was a breeze and "Hunter" at the reception desk was awesome. The layout was so modern and amazing. It just made you feel good being there. The room was equally amazing and had free wifi. We ordered takeout from a nearby chinese restaurant. The room had a large bathtub, fridge, microwave, bed, chair/ottoman, and desk/desk chair. The bed was SOOOO comfy. The only downfall were the neighbors in the adjoining room who talked very loudly late at night. A good set of earbuds and a 'sleep' playlist handled that. Pets are allowed but you couldn't tell - it was all so clean. The next morning we had complimentary breakfast and they had toast, bagels, hot chocolate, coffee, juices, milk, cereal, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, sausage, and waffles in the shape of texas. The waffles were off to the side so don't miss them, however, don't fill the cup full of batter b/c it will be too large and gooey. LOVE this place.
The time spent at The Best Western Santa Fe motel was enjoyable, staff is friendly, the rooms are very roomy and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The are is quiet no loud noises to keep you up at night.
Made reservations through the 800 number, which was friendly and easy. The area we stayed is older and has a run-down look. When we walked into this BW we were pleasantly surprised by the colorful and modern looking lobby. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast has been better at other Best Westerns, but overall experience was excellent - we'll definitely stay here next time we stop in Amarillo.
A recent remodel is evident and is really nice. Very comfortable beds and a warm, inviting décor. We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff as we arrived during a hailstorm after a long drive from KC. Convenient parking with access to the various entrances and a pet area close by.
We arrived very late to a very friendly manager who checked us in. The room was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. The heater kept the room warm, but was pretty noisy with it clicking on and off during the night. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was very nice. The sink was outside the toilet/shower area which was convenient when there were 4 of us in the room. There was plenty of room to walk around the beds and to move around. Our dog's kennel fit fine by the TV and we could easily walk around. We would stay here again.
Traveling through west Texas usually requires a stopover in Amarillo. The motel is an easy on and off from I-40 on the eastern edge of town. Motels are abundant in the area and travelers benefit from the competition. This property was very clean and newly renovated in ultra modern silver and purple, not what I was expecting in the panhandle! Breakfast was the typical continental spread of scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, etc.
I had a great stay at this motel. Upon check-in the helpful staff person arranged for a limo with bull horns on the hood to take me to the Big Texan Steak Ranch for a delicious and huge Prime Rib -- and to give me a ride back to the motel. The room was clean and comfortable - and there was a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. I had a good night's sleep and I was sorry that I had to leave early - before breakfast started ...
The breakfast was very well set up. The choices were better than I have had in the past. I had a pet room and my puppy could not have been happier! They now have the back area for trailer parking, it could be lit up a little better for security reasons.
We love the hospitality and easy access to the airport. We were late getting to town and there were no reservations available. The lovely lady-manager called us back to allow our using a room which was being "spruced up". We just needed to be careful about giving the fresh grout around the tub a chance to dry! The location at the edge of town and out of the busy-ness of the main part of town is a big plus for us "old folks" who live in a very small town, with only two stoplights! We always try to stay here when in town for Dr. appointments, etc.
Great service. Great room, pleasant staff. beautiful area even with snow and other weather.Great Breakfast. Loved the pool and hot tub. Children loved the restruants in the area. Lots of scenery... ......
The front desk check in was friendly. The young man working the desk at night was very helpful. The lobby is extremely silver and sparkly like a disco ball, but don't let that put you off. The rest of the hotel looks pretty normal. (I actually liked how different it looks from the usual earth tone hotel lobby.) Breakfast is ordinary continental breakfast. The hotel room was clean, including the bathroom.
This hotel is not fancy but it is very comfortable. It was recently remodeled and the furnishings are nice. It is always quiet even though it is on the interstate. Getting to it is easy and there are many eating places within a short driving distance.
Excellent stay, well kept ,clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Good choices of breakfasts items. Good orange juice and good coffee and milk. Good service. Friendly staff. Good location and also very good parking.
This is an excellent hotel/morel Will stay there when we are in the area again. It is one of the nicest hotel in Amarillo, Texas.I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in that area. .The hotel was very clean and nice size rooms.
Hate hidden dog fees-- we checked the web site and called the #800 to verify that there was no fee. After 10 hours of driving we checked in to find a $20 fee, almost 25% of the room rate. Lots of competitors in Amarillo without a dog fee.
Wonderful over night stay, we were traveling to Nashville home from Alb. lots of security cameras and nice rooms. The renovations have made a huge difference to this property. Even the check in guy was helpful as to who would deliver us food! They do need a fitness center though : /
Clean! Comfy beds! Bathroom was small and needs some updating. But everything was very clean. Had our dog with us. So it is pet friendly! Would stay ago! Nothing special, no frills but great!! Breakfast was 6-9 slept in and missed that so can't say how that was.
The room was large with a comfy bed, nice furniture and wall photos, clean and with good counter space. There are many channels on TV including movie channels. Breakfast was good with a fair amount of seating. You get good value for price paid. There can be noise if you end up with an adjoining room. Sound carries very well through those doors so you may want to use the fan/AC to drown out the noise as well as the noise coming from those who leave early in the morning. As a Best Western Platinum member, one of my benefits is that I'm supposed to get the best room available. An adjoining room would never be the best available unless you're with a group and request an adjoining room or they know the room next door will be empty that night.
We had a great stay at this very clean hotel. Staff was excellent. It has a wonderful location and is near a lot of things. They also have free limo service connection that will take you to the famous Big texan steakhouse. We took advantage of the limo ride and the tip was all that was needed. Room were clean and breakfast was fine and convenient in the morning.
Very satisfied with our stay. The entire facility was very clean. We had no problems what so ever. When we checked in we received a goody bag from the very friendly hostess. We found our room to nice and roomy. Plenty of electrical outlets for chargers etc. HVAC was quiet and worked great. We also liked the fact that the parking lot was well lit, since we were in a group of twelve motorcycles.
This was a decent choice-better than some-we have stayed in Amarillo many times. Right off of Interstate 40 but the area was not the best. I selected this hotel primarily for the rewards promotion Best Western was offering during our recent road trip. It was clean and the staff was pleasant. The only real complaint was the toilet seat was broken. Rooms were decent and clean, breakfast was average. I thought the picture shown indicated a newer hotel which this was not. Good value for an overnight stay.
We arrived late at night having made reservations a few hours before arrival. For the price, we were surprised at how small the hotel was. It was located in a dark area off the interstate and not close to any restaurants. The room was recently updated and very clean, however the bathroom and hallways appeared to be dated. The complementary breakfast was very good (the best of our 6 night trip), and I especially liked the Texas shaped waffles and the nice lobby décor. All in all, this hotel is really trying.
You will be very comfortable at this Best Western and if you're a pet lover, even better. Pet rooms are located close to rear entrance/exit which makes it much easier to take them in and out. Breakfast is quite good and I left there a happy customer.
Clean and friendly. Newly updated. Quiet and convenient. Free Breakfast and Wifi. If u need to stay in Amarillo without frills... I recommend here. Good Best Western alot of daily travelers staying. Allowed pets. Sweet staff. I am not Best Western fan, as I have miles at Marriott...but I found it to be cleaner than some Marriott rooms.
This hotel was great! The decor was awesome and the beds and linens were so comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was super the next morning. Only suggestion to travelers is don't book the second floor if you need an elevator because there is not one!
Staff friendly and nice breakfast. Room not the best. Dressing area with sink in the room - not in the bathroom. Strange layout. The room didn't feel that clean and I didn't want to put my feet on the floor.
This is a great value for the room - very nice, modern, clean but what makes the difference here is their staff. When we checked in we were given suggestions and directions for places to go to dinner. In the morning we were offered towels to wipe down our motorcycles. The people were friendly and thanked us repeatedly for staying at their hotel. Would definitely go back again.
We were very tired from traveling all day so we stopped here and got the last room available.....The staff was very friendly and accommodating....We were very pleased with our room....Very clean and appeared to be recently updated.....We would stay here again!!!!
Traveling I-40 from California to Missouri is a long trip. You always need a good night's sleep on the journey. Our last night of the trip we chose the Best Western Santa Fe on the east side of Amarillo. The room was newly renovated, clean, spacious and comfortable. The a/c was blessedly quiet and the desk clerk was helpful in finding us a restaurant that would deliver food to our room. The evening was nice so I sat out by the pool for a while enjoying the breeze. We could not hear traffic from I-40 and so we slept well. The only downside is the lack of restaurants close by. However, breakfast was good (my dad was happy to see biscuits and gravy on offer) and plentiful. I can easily recommend this hotel.
There are many cheaper options in Amarillo but looked pretty sketchy. Stay here it is worth the few extra dollars. Super clean rooms and the staff was great. The breakfast presentation was well planned and delicious.
Room very accommodating room. With two queen comfortable beds, plenty of space for two medium sized dog crates. There is a large field adjacent to Best Western property, perfect to run obedient dogs. Our Brittanys had a blast. The breakfast was better than most with omelets, meat, cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, juices, coffee, etc. Convenient to I 40. If traveling with pets ask for room 120. It's in the back but near two exits and it is in the quietest part of the property. We would come again if stopping in Amarillo. Only reason for dropping a star was that the outdoor pool was noisy being closer to road than desired and it needed to be cleaned. This is perhaps unavoidable as it is windy and dusty I'm Amarillo. Rooms and every space inside very clean. "Green" products provided in room as shampoo, soap, and hand lotions.
