"Older but very well kept"
I wanted to see Louisville, but all the hotels were extremely expensive (it wasn't even derby week!) So I ended up 33 miles East in Shelbyville. This is an older motel, but it is very well kept. The Parking lot is clean with plenty of parking. My room was spacious with a large counter in the large bathroom. The bed and TV were acceptable but nothing special. There was a slight sewer smell in the bathroom, there might have been a venting problem. The pool area was beautiful, but the water cold and the pool was actually closed for swimming. But you could sunbathe if you wanted. You can walk to an Arby's to the north of the hotel or McDonalds to the south. Most of the guests appeared to be transient workers, but they were very nice and friendly. I would stay here again.
"Swampy rooms with mold."
The shear curtains had mold on it. The room felt very humid even with the bathroom fan running. There was leftover food in the fridge and long hairs in the beds and bathroom. Doesn't seem like they clean the rooms well. Beds are older spring mattresses. Hallways all smell like mothballs. Pool is rusty and had lots of bugs and dirt in it. The breakfast was ok but the coffee machine was broken the second day. They charge you $250 if you take any food back to your room but the rooms have a microwave and fridge so I was confused if we were allowed to even eat in the room. We did not feel relaxed at all with the strange rules.
"Fantastic Best Western!"
Friends and family have been staying at this Best Western since it was first built. Happily I can say it is still in great shape and the breakfast has been greatly improved. The pool is delightful. We reserved the suite to hold a small reunion of friends and the space far exceeded my expectations. The staff is helpful and friendly. We slept well. I'm so happy to see that this Best Western is still to the standards upheld by the first innkeepers, Julie and Brian.
"Okay but won't visit again."
While the hotel served its purpose, the pool needed to be more thoroughly cleaned. A lot of things are to outdated, example: shower curtains and bath towels were awful thin and scraggly. NO Elevator either?!
"Horrible!!!!!!!"
My family traveled to Kentucky for my daughter's basketball tournament and the group was a stay and play meaning we couldn't pick the hotel where we would stay for 7 days. So that's where it brought us to Best Western Shelby, Kentucky. My family traveled for about 18 hours from Texas. When we arrived around midnight. We were checked into a room with the A/C turned off and the refrigerator was unplugged. And the sheets were visibly dirty. Matter of fact it was my 7-year-old that pointed it out. I do hospitality so I know things happen. I just called the Front Desk to request clean sheets. As the staff came to the room he seem a bit confused inspecting the sheets like we did it. He stated I know my housekeeper cleaned this room. That's the first denial he did. It was late and I just needed to get my family situated. The following day we left early for the tournament and returned back to the hotel it was about 1 in a half inches if water in the room. My husband looks and sees it's coming from the toilet. And he shuts the water off. As the staff(Sunny) came to the room. I told him to change our rooms. He said he couldn't. Because there was none available. And he proceeds to start to mop the water up. That property took no accountability for what happened. I stayed up looking for hotels nearby and there was none. Since the city was fully committed for the event. He told us he will just mop it. Mind you all my family's clothes/shoes and electronics were all affected. I had to pay for there laundry service to wash my family's clothes. At this point, I was very overwhelmed with having to keep my family in this situation. I could not find a place to stay. The following day I contained to try and find a hotel. With no luck. There were hotels an hour and a half away from the tournament. So after two days of being there, I was able to find a hotel that had a room available. During all this, I have called the corporate of Best Western and tried to find someone to assist us. I had no luck as well they stated they couldn't do anything. I cannot believe this can happen to anyone and have to stay in a situation like this. And to add to it all we stayed for 2 days and the hotel ended up charging us the full 7 days. I called again the hotel and corporate they couldn't do anything once again. Going through this has been a horrible experience I cannot believe this can happen. And we just have to deal with it. If I have to seek legal actions to be heard then that will be my next step. Again, I started this stay with things happening and all I wanted was to fix the issue and move forward. But this property took no accountability and ignored the fact that all our belongings got damaged. Now as we call the property to ask for the insurance company they use as a business they continue to give us the runaround. I was not going to do any of this but charging my credit card for the full stay is unacceptable and we need to be heard. This is beyond and I can't understand how a company can run their operations like this. Best Western - Be aware of who carries the company name. Because this situation has painted a picture for this company. I'll never stay at Best Western. All I wanted was to be heard and acknowledge of the situation. Instead we get charged the full stay.
"Nice place to stay"
Recently remodeled and pool area still being completed. Comfortable beds, single cup coffee maker in room. The refrigerator and microwave were an unexpected surprise. As with most rooms today, if you want daily washcloths and coffee you have to find someone and ask. The free breakfast had a nice variety and an outdoor seating area. A great way to start the day.
"Exceeded our expectations"
We had a great experience, the cleanliness and friendly service was more than we expected! The breakfast was delicious and appreciated the choices that were available. It was the Kentucky Derby weekend and everything was handled efficiently!
"No elevator!"
Basically, this is a normal hotel from the BestWestern chain. Nothing special, breakfast ok, nice people. But no elevator to the second floor, which, for an old guy like me, with a heavy suitcase, is a bit away from ideal.
"Chaten Deserves A Raise"
Chaten was by far the best manager I have ever had to deal with. He was very concerned about our rooming sitituation and done everythjng in his power to meet our accommodations! The breakfast was very delicious and the entire staff was very friendly! Loved that the hotel was pet friendly!
"Great experience"
The hotel and the rooms were clean and well maintained. On arrival nice welcoming and fast registration. The hotel is well located close to main road, shops and restaurants. The served breakfast is good with cold and hot choices. Good value for money
"Amazing Stay"
Great Place and Great People . Highly Recommend . Staff was friendly , Room Were Spacious and Breakfast was wonderful , Check in and check out process was quick and each and every staff is going above and beyond to help every guest
"The Manager sucks"
Long story short, I booked online with a company card and when I got there they would not accept it since it didn't have my name on it. They canceled and rebooked all within 15 minutes. I stayed for two nights and was charged a third night as a fee for the problem and the manager/owner, Sunny, wouldn't respond to the issue, wouldn't call back hotels.com, and dodged any attempt to rectify the issue. I basically spent $150 per night just to stay in some crappy hotel. 0.0

Dear Zach First of all thank you for taking an time to review us Very first thing you booked the reservation from expedia which is prepaid reservation // you booked it to third party reservation and upon asking your cc for check in for incidental you said you dont have // we offer you credit card authorization form or canary to make sure we are secured to collect your incidentals from your company credit card which you really denied with front desk at check in // you go ahead and booked another night prepaid on same day with third party and then you gave us your personal credit card for incidentals . How was that not possible at very first time when we check in . it is completely guest responsibility for any modification , upgrade , cancellation of reservation if its booked from third party , we always have uniform policy all over the online platform for OTA ( online travel agency ) .however for your knowledge . we also did call expedia and speak with rep name amber and we also explain her about uniform and equality of policy for all guest as well as for our employees Again apologize for inconvenience Hope to see you next time
"No stay is perfect but this is close"
My only complaints was there was no elevator and the eggs for breakfast was watery. Did not like tables blocking counter, hard to sign documents. Staff nice and friendly. I found the room to be clean.

"Fantastic Hotel!"
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Would like to have a jacuzzi added. Breakfast had a good hot breakfast! Free popcorn! Coffee available! Would highly take advantage of this hotel again. No trouble sleeping at night!

"Stayed one night - no issues"
Stayed while visiting friends here one night. The front desk person upon arrival was very nice. The room was clean, normal for a hotel. There were workers there working on things outside but not disruptive to us. The hubby ate breakfast and said it was the typical hotel breakfast. No issues. Several restaurants, a Walmart and theater (older one) very close by.

"Not up to Best Western standards"
We arrived and promptly left. I was immediately put off by the outward appearance. Old and not kept up from outward appearance. Once inside there is a bad odor and very outdated. Room gave off more odor and appeared to have not been touched for quite a while. 2 spiders were on the bed and room felt damp. Did not feel comfortable being inside at all. Promptly left.

"Overnight Stay"
Very satisfied with our overnight stay. Late night arrival and check in was fast and convenient. Check in staff person was friendly and convinced us to stay for the hot breakfast in the morning vs. walking across the street to Waffle House. Hot breakfast was good and plenty of choices to pick from. An older hotel but was clean and met our needs for a quick stop during our travels. Conveniently located by the interstate. Definitely recommend.

"Best Best Western"
Only downfall of this hotel is there is no elevator. Not there fault though; has something to do with the building & inspections. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. All staff was polite, courteous, helpful & always smiling.

"NICE PLACE - Would STAY AGAIN"
Clean and quiet hotel. Friendly service. Hot and fresh breakfast, coffee and flavored creamer available all day :-) 90 degrees in May in Kentucky, expected pool to be open but sadly it was not - disappointed for sure. stayed here because it was central to bourban distilleries we toured - good location.

"Nice but no elevator"
I wish I had known ahead of time that there was no elevator. The only rooms left were on the second floor and we were traveling with elderly parents. After a long day on the road, the last thing you want to do is drag multiple suitcases up the stairs. Having said that, the hotel is nice and the breakfast was good with several options, both hot and cold.

"Great value, super clean"
Best Western Shelbyville was a great stay. The team there takes pride in their work and it shows. We stayed three nights on a Kentucky driving tour. Highly recommend. Super clean room and property. Breakfast was great, nice variety of choices. Would definitely stay here again.

"Relaxing and stressful"
We ended up staying here after a long travel day and found this hotel to be quite relaxing. The check in was quick and the lady who checked us in was friendly however we had to cart our luggage up the stairs to our room. I don't know if they even had an elevator. I could have used an elevator though as we were at the beginning of a 10 day vacation. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Husband a daughter enjoyed a nice morning drinking coffee by the pool before we went to breakfast. We walked back down the stairs to go to breakfast. When we stayed here there was a breakfast hostess who had to serve all of your food and it was blocked off half way through the breakfast room. She was not in the best of moods either so I was afraid to ask for anything more. She even scolded a couple of other people who tried to reach over the tables to get some juice. Upon checking out we made a joke with the person checking us out about having to cart all of our luggage down the stairs. She laughed; we laughed and we headed out to our next adventure.

"Seemed clean and comfortable"
Hotel seems very quiet and clean. The only problem was that there was no breakfast on Saturday until 7:00 which didn't help us much. There is however, a waffle house directly across the street. For dinner that night we ended up eating at a great italian place down the road. Definitely enough food options close.

"Back on the Road"
After two years of avoiding over night routes and driving long distances from home I was back at it. First night out was in a sub par national chain hotel. Holes in the wall kind of dirty not unfriendly but not friendly staff. This Best Western is the complete opposite. Clean Lobby, clean rooms, nice fitness room and super friendly staff! "Good experience"
Just a quick stop here for the night on our holiday road trip. Very happy with the accommodations, the bed was comfortable and the shower water pressure was excellent. It was a quiet stay with no noise from the parking lot or neighbors. Will gladly stay here again.

"Nice"
Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. As of December, 2021, they are providing a full, hot breakfast, but a staff member plates it for you. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Very reasonable rates and convenient to I-64. Fitness center is available and decently equipped. Worth consideration for your business if in the area.

"BW Shelbyville"
The hotel was super quiet. My room was very big and clean. I appreciated the refrigerator and microwave. The parking was never a challenge, I parked my car directly in front of my room every night. I am going to stay at this hotel on my future visits to Shelbyville (already booked another night for an upcoming visit). I consider myself fairly picky about hotels and I was concerned about being on a busy road and this price point, but everything was great!

"Nice clean room with a couch!"
Friendly, professional staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! Breakfast was actually quite good. The eggs were fluffy and sausage gravy biscuit was really good. Yes an employee serves one person at a time but since we were the only ones in there at the time it was nice. It would have preferred had she been wearing a mask but Kentucky is not wearing them! The pool was closed and under construction but we did not mind. A very nice one night stay traveling. The door C was not locked / would not lock so that did not feel as safe.

Nothing bad to say. This hotel has been pleasantly remodeled. No elevator but is only 2 floors. Clean. Friendly staff. Includes hot breakfast. Definitely recommend. Easy drive to the outlets for shopping.

"Breakfast and Pool need work, everything else was fine"
The pool needed vacuuming (Algae residue on the steps and pool floor) which creates a slick surface (not good from a liability standpoint), and breakfast was a hot mess. It appears the hotel is required by corporate to cordon off the breakfast bar, and have a single employee great each person a plate, one at a time. How you can do oatmeal, cold cereal, waffles, syrup, etc in a manner that appeases the requester is a mystery. Plus, it took too long, even with only a few families waiting, and our family opted to go elsewhere to feed the kids. This policy is, in my opinion, wrongheaded and a waste of business resources - no other hotel chain that I'm aware of does it like this anymore. Otherwise the staff was fine, and checkin/checkout was easy.

"Comfortable and surprisingly quiet"
This is an older building which was solidly built-- which meant it was more insulated and quiet. We didn't hear footsteps in the halls or slamming doors which we usually find disturbing at many hotels. There was grassy areas nearby for our dog. Our room was clean and comfortable. The pool was very refreshing. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, pastries, juice & coffee. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

"BW Shelbyville"
The Lodge was well kept outside and in. Clean room and good breakfast bar. The Lodge was far enough from the expressway for quiet but close enough to get back on the road quickly. All of the staff were friendly and efficient.

"Recent Stay"
The hotel is great. Room, location, breakfast perfect. My room was 88. some dollars. After I check out and get home I go to the grocery...checking out my card declines...I have not had this happen before....Come to find out not only was I charged one incidental charge plus room of 238.18 but 2 charges for this amount. Thankfully 1 of the charges has come off but not the other...I called the hotel and they just respond it will come off...after a great stay great place this is disappointing. I haven't encountered this before and the customer service unconcern is bothersome. If I had experienced care my rating would have been a 5. The place is great but impacting my finances and not caring I have an issue with.

Check in and check out was very slow, but staff were nice and welcoming. We had spiders in our room and the hair dryer would not work. We have stayed there before and its nothing fancy but was ok. Very disappointed this time.

"Clean, quiet, comfortable"
If you don't want to stay in Louisville, this is an excellent location. Very quiet, within walking distance of several fast food places. Gas station very close by, both are close to the interstate but just far enough away to have no highway noise. There is no elevator. Feels very safe. Lobby and rooms have been remodeled. Bed was very comfortable. Check in was easy and quick. First night, we were next to the housekeeping laundry area and were awakened by noise/vibrations from the laundry machines. Second night, we requested a different room...that one smelled like smoke. Its supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. Manager was very nice about it, apologized and said he would address the issue.

Real bang for your buck. So clean, very nice updates really nice pool and the staffing was great. I loved that even through the Corona 19 they still had the full breakfast set up that they served. Upper end hotel at a low price.

Denise was such a pleasure to deal with during check-in! She was very knowledgeable and polite to us even made us chuckle several times. She wasn't able to answer a question about a restaurant being open but she sure took the time to find out if they were opened and even printed directions there for us. "Excellent Choice!"
Great stay! Although the carpets are being redone no issues here. The holding fee for incidentals was not bad, not as expensive as other hotels is one reason for my stay, plus, your pool. Can I say how awesome it was to come in and be able to unwind after driving in your pool. It was awesome and so relaxing. I needed this. Thank you, please keep it open! And you served breakfast, wow....thank you again, during this covid time no one can be sure where they can eat while staying in motels, but you did this and did it well....keep up the great work. Great shower, loved the water pressure! I would only RECOMMEND one thing...to have early morning pool open for a quick swim before we have to leave. Nice to just swim and eat breakfast and get ready for a day out again. That is a recommendation that us older folks would enjoy. The grills do need to be cleaned. Confused on which one to use and if okay to use? But that was no issue either. Bed was amazing! Clean room. Thank you. Look forward to swimming again soon!

"2 Stays (Stay #1 - Excellent; Stay #2 - Pool Closed - HUGE Disappointment)"
My husband and I traveled with our 3 grandchildren. All the employees were friendly. The rooms were clean, nice and comfortable. Because of COVID, breakfast is served by hotel staff (Nancy and Alma). Although they are employed to do a job, serving was beyond their normal duties and these women were friendly, patient, and very helpful. We don't usually tip for ordinary hotel services (like breakfast), but did tip this time. We chose this hotel because it has an outdoor pool which we preferred because of COVID. The pool was large, clean, and very nice. However, on our return visit, the pool was closed because "the chemicals weren't quite right". I know sometimes things happen that the hotel can't control. This was a HUGE disappointment. We chose the hotel because of the pool, left our vacation early so that we could get to the hotel and swim (our choice), and our grandchildren were so disappointed. We would have gone to a different hotel that has a pool, but Best Western's cancellation policy requires cancellation 24 hours prior to check in.

"A 5 Night Stay and only a single visit from Housekeeping (and that only after two complaints)!"
We reserved the room 5 mos. in advance, since local H.S. Graduations were scheduled for the time of our visit to Shelbyville. Despite COVID issues, we decided to visit family and retained our reservation. The room was clean and comfortable. Although our room had not been visited by Housekeeping when we returned the next evening, we did not complain. However, after the second night, and still no housekeeping, we went to the desk to request service. We were told that the "Do Not disturb" card was on our door (not true, because I double checked to make sure it was not--after no services the previous day) and that the maids usually finished by 11 a.m. Little did we know that management/housekeeping staff only opted to cater to folks that left by 10 am. During our 5 night stay, we vacated the premises by 11 a.m. every day. The Manager at the desk was rude and she was also argumentative. "it's all your fault" is a poor strategy for resolving conflicts. It is in fact, very poor treatment of your guests. If that is standard policy, then guests with more than a one night stay should be informed when registering! In our many travels, we have never experienced such policy. It should also be noted that there is a $50 refundable "Security Deposit" charge at this Best Western on arrival. Despite the fact that there were no issues with our room when we checked out, over a month has passed, we have not been credited.

Stay anywhere else or in your car .The manager tries to charge you all kinds of extras and We where mislead on cost and breakfast told they had a pool but didn't tell us it wasn't to breakfast pool wasn't going to be open couldn't understand the lady that sold us the room only decided to stay at BW because the wife and i stayed at the BW in Elyria ohio and loved the service we travel alote and stay at motel 6 and never had a problem and cheap rates but a stay at bw for more money was nice and we decibed to change to BW

"Decent hotel for the price"
Stayed one night, nothing to complain about. The hotel seems to be in decent shape, just a little older. Only issue we ran into was the first key card given to us was so worn out it wouldn't work. This was corrected immediately by the front desk. The room was clean, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Hotel was quiet, but we were here on a weekday, so traffic from the highway was minimal. Didn't try the breakfast. Overall, would stay here again.

Was very disappointed with this hotel this time. So many issues (sheets dirty, toilet ran all night, hot water would barely turn off, floor on one side, felt like you were going to fall through) there is construction going on at this hotel. Front desk ladies were very nice and polite, other staff not so much. Manager has denied all of this. If this was a suite, can you imagine a regular room. The most important thing to me was a quiet room, that was not even done. Do yourself a favor, next exit stay at Hampton.

My wife had to stop while driving an stopped at Best western about a room. The front desk clerk was so sweet and friendly. "Great Value Great Staff"
Great Hotel, I stay here all the time. The people are great. Convenient location and clean rooms. I will continue to stay at this hotel every time I'm in the area. Hint, Book early for holidays and events this hotel can fill up quick, even when the events are in Louisville.

"Clean, Comfortable and Quiet"
We stayed overnight while visiting the area. The room was comfortable. The hotel is easily accessible, but far enough from Interstate 64 to provide a quiet rest. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot with plenty of pressure. The desk clerk, Melanie, was very welcoming. She was the epitome of Southern hospitality. We were very please with the entire experience.

"No attention to basic details...."
The staff I interacted with were friendly and nice. The hotel looks like it has received some recent updates. It looked decent from a distance; but it lacks attention to basic details. For example, building entry doors didn't function properly. Dirt from construction workers boots( guests at hotel) was on the walkways, parking spaces. My room entry door was literally starting to come off the hinges. The TV channels still are not fixed; (see ronl313PN review.) The sink faucet difficult to operate along with no aerator on the spout made it very messy. The shower curtain has what looked to be small blood stains on it. The entire bed smelled rancid/sour The only reason I rated it as poor and not terrible is the staff were nice. This place needs a visit from "Hotel Impossible"

"Know Issue Not fixed"
Repair the issues with the TV Channels, when I reported the issue they were already aware of the issue! I was told they were slowly working on the problem room by room!!!!! So you are Knowingly renting room with TV that do not work correctly yet not making the guest aware of the problem but charging the same amount as for rooms with working TV Cable? Either Fix the problem are be upfront with your guest! Also I was unable to connect with the WiFi! The Staff was Great, Room Clean and great Breakfast. But I will not be Back to this location!

"Best Prices in town"
Every employee was friendly, helpful and had smiles. The rooms were large and clean. The bathroom counter top is large enough to take care of two women's cosmetics. The breakfasts were good. I love the fresh fruit, waffles were good and the bacon, sausages, biscuits and eggs were very good. Bagels and different kinds of bread were available with lots of toppings. There were even hard boiled eggs. Checking in and out was easy and quick. The room rates were great. However, some of the hallway doors had been marked up and covered with paint that did not match well. The room we were in was well decorated without any issues and well worth the price. I almost feel like it is the best kept secret for travelers. We will return. The one thing that was wrong is that the TV's do not match the TV guide. You can find the local channels, but you have to figure out what they were and write them down. An example: Channel 5 was stated as being Channel 5, but in reality it was channel 16. Once you figure it out, there was no problem

"Great Stay"
My wife is very picky when it comes to hotel rooms. Was very happy with the cleanliness of our room. Breakfast was nice with quite a few selections. Will definitely stay here again when we visit family in Shelbyville.

"Nice stay, super friendly"
We stayed here one night to enjoy shopping at the Simpsonville Outlet Mall. Very convenient location with many dining options nearby. Front desk staff was super friendly and speedy at check in. Beds were super comfortable. Bathrooms could use updating but were nice and clean. Overall great stay.
"Last Minute and Pleased"
This stay was a last minute decision and I'm glad we did. Travel through this area often throughout the year but have never stayed. BW of Shelbyville KY was an excellent choice. Room was clean and spacious for my wife and I and our 2 yr old granddaughter. Will be my choice for lodging when traveling to the area again.
"Great Hotel. Suite was beautiful"
Great hotel and amazing staff. Anything we needed they provided with kindness. Breakfast was good and never ran out of anything. The associate made sure everything was fully stocked. The room was comfortable and plenty of space for everyone.

It's not horrendous. It's not great. It's meh. Breakfast was terrible. The rooms are dusty and not cleaned the best. I wouldn't stay here again if had the choice. I paid 84/night which is the only reason I'm rating it 3 instead of 2.
"A pleasant stay"
The beginning of the year 2019 I started coming to visit my significant other and I visit frequently. I like the location and I like the hotel I recommend this hotel. It has the most comfortable beds and is very clean
"Made me nervous as a single woman"
This hotel was not at all what I expected from my previous experiences with Best Western. There were several entrances to the hotel from the outside. A card was needed to get in, but when I arrived, my assigned room was at the opposite end of the hotel from the lobby. Men, who was later confirmed to be construction workers that are regular clients, were standing or sitting in cars outside the entrance, most of them smoking and a few drinking. I was very uncomfortable moving luggage from the car to the hotel door. A couple were having a loud argument in the hallway. My room smelled of stale cigarette smoke and "felt" dirty. Also, be aware because I didn't see it in the online hotel information, there is no elevator in this hotel.
"Great, Central location, room could be better"
The room was decent, but wasn't cleaned properly. We reported that there was mold on our shower, and on the ceiling. There was also feces on the edge of the toilet seat. The elliptical machine in the fitness room was not operational. The pillows were not comfortable at all. The breakfast was fine, and the location was great for getting to all the distilleries.

I was there for a conference in Franfort, KY for 4 days and stayed here. This place is perfect. The only cons is the internet connection is not very good. Very friendly reception staff, special mention to Brittney and Susy. Outstanding and highly recommended!!
"One Night"
In town for a funeral, and stayed here one night. Our room was very clean and kept up nicely. The breakfast was clean, filled up, and friendly staff. The sitting area by the pool was neat and tidy, but noisy. We didn't use the pool, but it looked clean. Would recommend!
"You get what you pay for"
If you're looking for a cheap place to sleep for the night, this place gets the job done. The bathrooms were clean, but the carpet needed cleaning and the bedspread had cigarette burns on both sides. We ended up using a blanket from our car instead of the provided covers.
"Room for Fun"
The rooms were spacious as was the entire Lodge. The halls allowed for passing without bumping into doors or patrons and the lobby was the perfect place to just relax and people watch. My grandchildren were thrilled with the fitness center and the pool. It was like a mini vacation for all of us.

Easy access to Interstate, restaurants readily available, fast courteous check- in, tasty breakfast, great value for quality of room. Clerk at check-out pre-occupied and unfriendly, but all in all a great stay.

Nice place to get off the road. Beds were extremely comfortable. Enjoyed the pool. They have grills if you want to cook out with the family. They even have popcorn in the lobby along with biscuits and gravy for breakfast.
"Nice place with stinky rooms"
We were there to see about my mother, who lives nearby. LOVE the pool. We live in AL so we are surprised at how few motels in KY have out door pools. This one was great! Our room stunk. Moldy air conditioner forced us to sleep with our window open. THANK GOD for that little window. The carpet and beds felt damp. The air conditioner never got the room cool. I hope they get these things fixed since is it the closet motel to my family.

Very nice, updated rooms. Staff were super friendly. Quick and accommodating to our needs of first floor room. Military discount. "Wouldn't even give a star! Terrible and Disgusting!"
We were traveling with our extended family. We reserved 5 rooms that night and defiantly did not receive any extra appreciation! Mostly we were inconveniencing them! This hotel smelled like smoke the whole hotel!! Mentioned it on check in and was ignored. The beds were horrible! Literally they had impressions in the beds you could see as you walked in the door. You rolled into the middle of the hole, it was so big! I was traveling with a child and she was playing and crawling on the floor her legs and feet were completely black from all the dirt and grime on the carpet! It took elbow grease to get the grime off of her! We were only passing through so toughed it out since there was 18 of us. It would have been a pain to move everyone! Breakfast wasn't no treat either waste of time. The lady was rude and pushy and the food was disgusting. Then on check out mentioned the beds were horrible and mentioned the smoke smell again and all we got was we will let the managers know. Only to find out they charged my card $150 for smoking in the room! I have called and they refuse to reimburse me the money because my family smoked in our room. Even though the room they said we were in we were not! They didn't even have my name on the room. They had my cousins name because she called ahead to let them know we were staying in 5 rooms. Then we didn't stay in the room they said we did! We stayed in room 121 and the room that smelled like smoke was 112! However, I have nothing that proves otherwise! Honestly who keeps the room card sleeves! They informed me the rooms are thoroughly checked before any one registers into the room. I informed them there was no way. If it was they did a poor job of checking the rooms because of the beds and how dirty everything was on arrival. I am still arguing and trying to get my money back for something I didn't do! We stayed at 4 different places during this trip this hotel was the only one we had issues with and we paid the most money for! I don't suggest staying here unless you want a horrible nights sleep, headaches from the smell or possibly catch something from all the dirt and grime!
"Relaxed"
Nice motel, that did well for our group. Breakfast had better than average options. Liked the Outdoor Seating that was available. Pool is a good size, though wish it was heated! Regardless, very clean and well kept. Also easy walking to several restaurants.
"Won't stay here again"
Beds were awful, you get it and roll to the middle, air conditioner is very loud-wakes you up everytime it turns on. Breakfast was disgusting, and they don't enforce the 10:00 pool closing time. People at the pool screaming at 10:30, called the front desk and got attitude that at least they were out of the pool. That's nice and all, but they're screaming right below my window! First and last time we'll ever stay here.

Clean rooms and friendly staff Continental breakfast was average but clean. Was a great stay overall, we wish we have time to enjoy to pool because, the room was on the ground floor, the ice maker was next to the room whis was very nice!

This was a one night stop over on our way back from a vacation and found it to be clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful in answering our questions about places to eat and questions about road travel and weather.
"Bad Internet & TV"
We have stayed at this hotel in the past that is why we chose it for this trip. Was disappointed in the service. Reported issues with TV and internet and was told well that just the way it works. Do not stay here if you want to use the internet to get any work done. Had to connect using the hot spot on my mobile phone. Room needed better cleaning, bathroom especially, floor was not clean and had layers of dirt in corners and mildew on ceiling.
"Bad billing"
For years we have been coming to this motel! When arriving we noticed the property was not kept up! We were given one price by phone , at check-out charged another ! Upon telling the desk clerk, it became a pissing contest ! She told me she could not change the price! I told her that I was not leaving until it was changed ! She said she would get the manager to come up, she went back, said she would change it, the mgr never came out! We have a small dog, well behaved ! She threw that in my face, I told her that , Jeed as well as Jerri told us it was okay , with no extra charges ! All in all , it became a pissing contest ! We more than likely will never return? I am in hopes things will change! We are seniors , that people that don't even know we are there in room 123 ! Dan
"shelbyville's finest"
this is the only place i would stay when i come visit my significant other half. i like the location it's close to everything you'd need, food, shopping not too far from down town. very clean friendly staff, price is fair i have no complaints
"Friendly staff"
The staff was friendly and helpful. The first room we were given smelled like cigarette smoke. We were quickly given a new room. No eggs for breakfast on the the 2 mornings we were there; no waffles on one. Wifi was mediocre at best. Three teens were not happy with the service! Front desk was very friendly and the fresh popcorn was a nice treat.
"OK but showing wear and tear"
Nice lobby and friendly staff but rooms and interior appears to have been remodeled but not done real well from a quality of workmanship. Room smelled of old smoke with torn curtains and screen. TV worked but with strange channel set up. Bed and shower worked OK which saved the stay. I have stayed here several times over the years but hotel is starting to show its age.

The rooms were very clean and big. The front desk personnel were very friendly and accommodating. The pool was not open during my stay, but was large. Breakfast offered a large selection for both meat lovers and vegetarians. The lobby was large and a nice place for a group to meet (as was the pool area). Conveniently located. Plenty of parking.
"If you don't wish to sleep, this is your place!"
You tend to think when your at a hotel, there is a good chance you will be able to sleep, NOT here. Barking dog all night, several guests reported to desk and nothing was done. Stay Away from this hotel, its a shame really, otherwise it was a good hotel.

You get what you pay for. The place needs a good cleaning. The air conditioners don't work very well. The breakfast options are usually the same and nothing special. If you're looking for cheap and plain, this will do it.

This was the worst hotel experience in my life. The building was dirty, the room was in poor shape, the shower mechanism didnt work, and there was a heroine overdose across the hall in the middle of the night. I couldnt get away from this place fast enough.

"Truth in advertising"
The two desk staff members I met were friendly and helpful. The lobby looked great. Unfortunately, it's not as pet-friendly as it could be. Its Web site says, "Additional pet types (cats, birds, etc) may be accepted at the hotel's discretion" (as of writing this review), but the manager (owner?) doesn't permit cats unless they are kept in a carrier.

"The room numbering confused me"
The hotel is attractive and our room was spacious. I liked having the microwave and fridge even though we did not need them on this trip. Breakfast was fine but there were no gluten free bread products. I got lost nearly every time I went to the room as the numbering really confused me. There are interior corridors but did not appear to be an elevator. Luckily, we were on the ground floor. My real concern was that the exterior door nearest our room did not automatically lock and it was easy to get in without a key.

"Half-finished room, almost $1,000 in fraudulent credit card charges, worst CSRs ever."
I made a reservation for an accessible room for the dates Oct. 27-30, confirmed by Expedia. On arrival, there was no access ramp to the building and I found the room to be half-finished with loose mirrors and paint cans in the room and no lighting in the bathroom. I was still prepared to be nice at this point, so all I did was ask at the desk if they would be able to finish the room on Monday, when I assumed the workmen would be back. However, they then debited $947.50 from my CC for a 3-night stay for one person. Since then they have alleged, first, that Expedia made me 3 separate reservations, which Expedia didn't as far as I can tell; they then tried to claim I had an "extra person" staying in a different room and THAT's what the charges were for ($600.00?!), and finally they alleged that I changed my arrival and departure dates and incurred the fees myself as a "no show". None of this is true. I can document every step from my confirmed reservation on the *exact* dates I stayed, through the fraudulent charges by Best Western (NOT by Expedia!) on my account. Additionally I can second the person who complained that the keys don't work. I was locked out of the hotel late at night after a hard work day and had to struggle all the way around the outside of the building in the dark with my walker to get in. I lost 1.5 days of business trying to resolve these issues, which did not get resolved until just now, 9:35 p.m. on the day after I returned home. In fairness, the situation HAS now been resolved, so let's just hope I didn't lose any business during the 1.5 days I had to be away doing nothing but documenting this, screengrabbing that, and arguing with CSRs. Persons in wheelchairs need to know that while the rooms may be accessible, the outdoor sidewalks are NOT. This will be my last stay at a Best Western.

"Ok stay"
Nice facility, nice room, good service, sorry breakfast experience. No plates. Hard to eat a waffle in a bowl. Lady working in the breakfast area was very nice. Don't care much for the grey sausage matter. Was very disappointed. We drove 30 miles out of our way to stay at Shelbyville Lodge. Will probably try It one more time.

"Okay, in a Pinch"
After reading the varying extremes of the reviews, I was hesitant to make reservations. As usual, we reserved a handicapped accessible room. The first room smelled musty, the carpet and furniture were worn. Overall the room lived up to the negative reviews. Unfortunately or fortunately, the shower in this room did not have a flexible shower head. We requested to be moved to a more handicapped accessible room. The second room was an improvement over the first one. There was no musty smell. Instead of carpet, there was tile. The furniture and fixtures appeared to have been updated. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner was quiet. On the negative side, the room was still in need a good cleaning. The tile floor had a haze on it where it hadn't been properly rinsed after being mopped. The haze was made the floor very slippery. For ventilation , the bathroom door had a hole cut into the bottom of it with metal grate on either side of the door. It was obvious he grates had never been removed and the area dusted. The television in our room did not work. When we reported it to the front desk, they offered to switch our rooms, again. We elected to stay in the room, so they deducted our pet fee. Speaking of pet fees. The web site states up to two dogs per room with and that the pet fee is $20 per night. Turns out is is $20 per dog. So for two dogs the fee is $40 per night. Breakfast was the usual fare, waffles, biscuits, link sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, pastries, juices, milk and coffee. Everything was the appropriate temperature. There was enough variety for a short stay. Finally, the reason we chose to stay at the Best Western was because we had a $20 Best Western Reward Travel from a previous stay. Per the instructions, we printed the email containing the reward number and the pin, and presented it upon checking into the hotel. Supposedly it was applied to our account. Upon check out, the desk clerk was gone to the bank and a housekeeper checked us out. She said that our receipt would be emailed to us. When we received the receipt, the $20 Best Western Reward had not been credited to the account. I replied to the email stating that the reward had not been credited. I requested that the error be corrected and a new receipt be sent. I waited three days and sent a second email. We are still waiting.

"Not my choice"
Hotel has potential w a good renovation. Best part was the pool and breakfast (although on a weekend breakfast closes at 9 a.m) employees have no professionalism. Poor hospitality. Mold in bathroom. Some restaurants close by.

"Comfortable room"
The room was comfortable and clean. The price was very good. Breakfast was disappointing as the biscuits were hard and the eggs not very appetizing. Waffles were good and there was fruit, pastries, yogurt and a pitcher of ice water which we didn't find at other Best Westerns. Could use a little TLC overall, but I'd stay there again.

"Attractive, clean, convenient and value priced hotel"
The first thing we noticed was how attractive the lobby was while registering. The staff was friendly and attentive. We were pulling a small Teardrop trailer and our need for a larger yet secure parking spot was accommodated. Our room was bright, clean and comfortable. We were passing through on a month long road trip part camping and part hotels and I needed to do some laundry. Now here's a bit of information that we passed on to Best Western directly via their survey. "My husband and I left with the impression that the staff may be new to the field and while they're friendly and energetic, perhaps they don't realize that vague answers to questions "may" bother some guests. Two examples: When we entered our room I found the CO2 detector on the floor. I plugged it in and it screeched, so I brought it to the front desk in order to bring it to their attention. They seemed a little doubtful of me. I stood and waited while they took it in back to "test". After a while I couldn't just stand there and I needed to move on to grab my laundry and get it started, so I figured I'd check back later about the detector. Re: the laundry, the Maytag washer and dryer were state of the art at the surprisingly reasonable price of $1.00/load which was a big plus for me.I just wasn't sure that I set up the cycles correctly. The water didn't seem to be flowing. So I went back to the front desk and asked for assistance and the clerk said "Oh, I have no idea about technical things, but I'll look." We walked back to the laundry together and by then the water was flowing. I then asked what happened to the detector. I was assured it was returned to our room. When I got back to the room with my laundry, I asked my husband if the detector was returned. It was not. I can only guess it went to another room, so we were without a CO2 detector for the night. I saw the clerk in passing to inform her of the confusion. She didn't have much of a reaction. Overall the accommodations were pleasing, convenient and a very good value. So, this is just a little info to know in terms of helping your staff to "grow" and realize that their responses are important to the overall impression. These little things would not deter us from staying again nor recommending to others." The breakfast room was spacious, clean and bright and the food area was continually kept clean and well stocked. Check out was simple. Great value for the money.

"Shelbyville Trip"
The Best Western in Shelbyville is an excellent place to stay for 1 day or a week. Clean rooms, pool and surrounding areas. Very courteous stay. Easy access to the downtown Historic Shelbyville as well as the Saddle-bred horse farms, scenery and restaurants.

"Disgusting and bed bugs"
I was in 220 i would never go to this hotel again nice staff but the cleaningness is bad i had pee on the toilet dirty rag left on the shower curtain fridge nasty and ive gotten bit i dont know but they might even have bed bugs worst hotel ever

"Terrible experience "
We chose this hotel because it had good reviews, a good price, and was non smoking. We booked it knowing it was non refundable. We had no idea HOW bad it would be. The first thing was how dirty our entrance was and the smell of smoke about made the whole family turn and run. We tried to be positive as we got settled but the smell of smoke and just how rundown the room itself was made us wonder how long we could last. We asked the front desk if we were in a non smoking room and they said maybe a smoking room had left a door open.... um.... who would put smoking rooms even near a non smoking area!!!!!! It filters into every room along with the entire hallways around it. We went to the pool to get fresh air as our eyes were burning... when we went back to change for dinner it was worse. The guys staying across from us were smoking like steam engines. We left for dinner and decided to go to a LATE movie (even with a 4 year old) just so we didn't have to go back. We slept awful that night. Our showers were hilarious because the shower curtain was falling out of the wall so the shower curtain fell to the center so we basically showered with no curtain! Breakfast was fine but the lady running it was crabby with everyone and was talking to herself along with making it known she wasn't happy about SOMETHING someone had done. Everyone was looking around trying to figure out what she was so mad about... not a good way to make guests feel welcome. We left as soon as we could get our stuff together and went to a hotel in Louisville that was amazing and clean! This Best Western was terrible. Non smoking should mean smoking is NOWHERE near or not allowed! We hate giving a bad review but this time we felt like we wasted our money, our time, and a night of rest. Our family can handle a lot but not this. I don't ever want to leave a hotel smelling like I smoke!!!

"You only get what you pay for"
Based on previous reviews, we thought this would be a safe bet outside of Louisville. As my husband told me, don't expect much for the price you paid. The hotel itself is in need of updating and cleaning. The lady who was in charge of breakfast was very rude and hateful, just dressed in sweatpants and a tshirt. Not a very professional person at all. One side of our room was nice and cold, but the side the bed was on never cooled off. Tv cut in and out and it wasn't even raining. Water reservoir to the coffee pot in our room was nasty. All in all we were not impressed, but I guess it could have been worse. We would have given it 2.5, but that wasn't an option. Not really average, but not completely bad either.

"Great experience"
Checked in without any problems. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was nice- continental with sausage, biscuits, egg, gravy, waffle makers, cereal, milk/juice/coffee. All was good. Check out was fine, also. Pool looked nice, we didn't swim, but nice little courtyard area in a private area.

"This was an excellent stay"
The only reason for not getting a 5 rating is the problem with keys...we had to keep going back to the desk to either get into the building from the parking lot, or from the pool area, or into our room. The security is a plus, however. it was a pain. Staff were always pleasant, helpful, and apologetic. Our room was spacious, beds comfortable, linens clean and nice. My husband liked the pillows so much he bought one. Bathroom all a-okay. Frig has a separate freezer area which allowed us to keep a few items iced down. Coffee maker worked. Lobby is old but rustic appearing and attractive, comfy around a fireplace-type setting. It has an outdoor pool in a nice outdoor setting with greenery, bench, chairs, etc...not sure what one does in winter. Breakfast was great...large indoor room and adjoining outdoor deck for dining in nice weather. All the usual choices plus two different type waffle makers, fresh strawberries and real bacon!

"2nd Stay"
This was our second stay here as our daughter lives in the area. The room was clean (except for the trash can that didn't get emptied from the previous guest), the shower water pressure and the breakfast was very good. The only downfall was that a family must have been having their reunion at the pool because they took up every chair/space in the pool area and were blasting their music for several hours. We, of course, had a room right outside the pool :(

Noise from the air conditioner and the toilet prevented us from getting a good night's sleep. To be fair, we did not notify the staff until the following morning due to the late hour and the fact that we were so tired.

Stayed in smoking room. I do not smoke but my wife does. I understand their will be some smell of smoke however, I believe the smoke smell could be removed better. Smell was very strong as soon as hallway door was opened.

"Wonderful stay"
Wonderful and attentive staff. Very clean hotel and very comfortable beds. Will stay here every time we travel through. Had one issue, excessive noise from room above us. The management attended to the situation immediately and made us whole on our bill. The breakfast was great and the staff kept the room tidy and replenished the items regularly. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying over in Shelbyville, KY.

I stayed at many hotels on business trips and so glad I decided to stat the best western in Shelbyville KY, the room staff and overall of the hotel was excellent the best bed I ever slept in on the road very very comfortable. I will defiantly stay there when I am back in Shelbyville

"Nice hotel in Shelbyville"
This is a nice hotel located near the interstate but not right next to it. We stayed in a non smoking suite which was very clean and spacious. Because smoking is allowed in some rooms and areas of the hotel, you can smell the odor or people smoking.

"everything was great"
i stayed 2 nights Saturday night til Monday morning. i stayed by myself and it was nice , you can barely hear anything through the walls, the cleaning ladies always had a smile on their face and are willing to do just about anything you ask, and i got checked in within minutes and checked out within seconds. For the county it is the best and cheapest hotel you could go to . lastly front desk takes care of you and makes sure you make the most out of your stay. 04/17/2018

"Nice hotel for the price "
My daughter was asked to fill in for a volleyball tourney going on in Louisville. Because we were asked last minute, there wasn't any good options close to the venue. While searching for nearby I found a great deal on the Best Western in Shelbyville. It was about a 25 minute drive to the venue, so not too bad. When we arrived at the hotel, the woman working the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had requested a non smoking room, and while that is what we got, the room had been smoked in previously. Not a huge deal as it wasn't too bad, but it might be a big deal for someone else. The room size was good. The only negative of the room was we never had hot water. Warm, enough for maybe one quick shower, but that was it. The breakfast was better than I expected. A lot of different choices. Overall the hotel, and staff were great. I would book there again.

"Blood on the mattress covers"
I booked my room through Expedia and when I was checking in I was told that they had booked me in a smoking room because they were completely sold ou. I didn't complain because that was expedia's fault. When I got to the room the room smelled like an ash tray and I looked around to make sure there were no bed bugs because it didn't look super clean. When I pulled the sheets up, the mattress cover had blood stains all on the side and they were very obvious. The staff were very nice and they got me new fitted sheet and febreeze, but that doesn't change the fact that I was so grossed out I had to go get pillows and blankets because I didn't feel safe sleeping on the ones that were on the bed. It was not worth $120 a night and it was the worse hotel I have ever stayed at.

"It was just ok."
The room was clean. That's about all I have to say positive about the place. The hotel needs rehab. My key wouldn't work every time I went back to the hotel. They did have free dinner on Tuesday nights which was a plus. Just an ok place to stay.

I was pleased with the cleanliness and quiet atmosphere of this hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the popcorn and coffee in the lobby was appreciated. The girl and the front desk was polite and friendly. We will definitely stay at this Best Western the next time we pass through this area.

"Needs some work"
Older property that is need of an overhaul. The hallways and room were very dingy. I actually felt like the room was unclean. The hallways smelled like old cigarettes. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets were not very good.

Travelling for Christmas and this hotel was clean and in great shape. The Receptionist was very good at checking and helpful. The hotel was conveniently located off the interstate so easy on easy off. Food in the area was great too, try the Cattleman's Roadhouse.

Older but well kept reasonably priced hotel. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was dated but comfortable to use. Beds where comfortable but on the firm side. We would stay here the next time we travel through this location.

"BED BUGS!!!"
My reservation, I specifically asked for Non-smoking; they gave me smoking room, told me that's all they had so I had no choice but to deal with it. Woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, came back and the room was a little warm so turned the TV on and grabbed my laptop. Few minutes later, visitors came crawling toward me from under the covers! At 2:00 am, I packed everything up and checked out!! I had to miss my conference, the sole purpose of my visit there. Now back home, I'm having to combat my house and car and have had to toss out several personal items I didn't want to risk bringing in the house! The guy on duty didn't seem to act like he believed me when I told him and showed him a picture (My company will foot the bill so not like I was looking for a handout.). Well hopefully the bed bugs were still running amuck when he went to check the room out and that I didn't bring them all home with me. For me, short visit will turn into a long-term problem! Also, extremely poor lighting in the room...I guess they don't want you to see the buggies!

Don't stay here. Very dirty.Pictures of rooms are deceiving. Mold in tubs. Dust all over floor. Under beds well don't look they are disgusting. They don't leave clean towels you have to go get your own. Lamps without light bulbs. Sheets was inside out on beds. Makes you wonder if they was even changed.

We needed a pet friendly hotel on our route home from Nashville to Rochester NY. Haven't stayed at a Best Western before but it seems like they are improving; based on what we noticed of new construction on our route. Pics looked good. Reasonable pet charge $20. We were surprised by overall experience. Very presentable exterior. Lobby very nice. Receptionist at desk very welcoming. Room large, clean and comfortable. Bed was kinda soft, but we are used to a Tempurpedic, so, we're spoiled. Parking lot was busy but no sounds from other rooms.Good shower, lots of pressure and hot water. Would stay again.

All one could ask for with a very helpful staff: Jeri, Tracy, and the morning breakfast staff and desk clerk. Room had coffee maker, refrig., micro and anything one with need with WiFi too. Fresh Made Pop Corn in the Lobby and 24hr 7day fresh coffee. We look forward to staying there again.

we were passing through and stayed a night at this hotel and the only real problem was the bathroom was not clean as the floor was was very dirty! Otherwise it was ok for a night. We really stayed one night going to and another night on the way back and would have let the first night bathroom issue go but we had the same issue with a non clean bathroom the second stay.

"Not Like The Pictures"
The reviews for this Lodge were extremely good. Not sure where these people stayed but the rooms were not as described. Very disappointed for the price. We were there overnight to go to a funeral and thankful we only had to stay one night. The room was clean but the lamp between the beds was a fire hazard. The lampshade was loose so you couldn't make it stay in place. It also had a small burn hole where the shade must have been laying on the bulb. That was the good part of this review. . . the bathroom was a disgrace. When you closed the bathroom door there were black handprints on the back of the door. Corners of the room were filthy and when I went to use the dryer it had long black hairs on the handle. The only good thing about the Lodge were the employees who were very courteous. Also the breakfast room was very nice and had many breakfast items to choose from. Would not recommend this Lodge for those reasons.

I really get up set when I can't pay cash. At other Best Western we stayed at we paid when we checked in. You have all our info. The clerk wanted to put the charge on our card until we paid and wouldn't let us pay until the next morning. I was not happy

Nice room and breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Desk clerk was very helpful, I needed a walk in Health Clinic because I wasn't feeling well. She printed a map and told us how to get to it and a Walmart for the RX if needed.

Overall the hotel was very nice. It was very clean and had recently been updated. The room was big and had a most comfortable bed. The only problem was when someone tried to tip or shake the vending machine over and was making quite a racket

After having a difficult time finding a hotel room we finally stumbled across Best Western. It was pouring rain last night, my father-in-law was on a motorcycle, and we were exhausted. Camden was the young gentleman at the desk when we arrived after 1am, he offered to get us anything we needed and was extraordinarily polite. I highly recommend this hotel. Clean room, comfortable beds, and the breakfast was great! Definitely worth the money.

"Nice stop"
We decided to stop here on our way to Gatlinburg. Check-in was simple, and the desk person was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, but the entrance to the hotel was the congregation area for smokers...and it stunk. The breakfast area is nice and clean and has plenty of choices. We will probably book again on our way home, just hold our breath on our way in! PS: Arbys is right next door.

"Excellent Hotel"
If you are looking for a nice, clean, spacious hotel room with nice amenities, look no farther. This is a great hotel at a great price. Staff is friendly and check-in/check-out was a breeze. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the vicinity of Louisville/Shelbyville/Simpsonville/Frankfort.
"Old hotel"
The room was old and didn't smell fresh. The sheets of the bed were old and didn't feel fresh. What made it worse that it were 2 sheets with an old thin blanket in between. And there was no extra blanket so it was cold. The room had a chouch and a chair, the last one had a lot of stains on it. The bathroom was clean but needed it an update, again it looked old. One positiv thing was breakfast, there was a good choice.

"Oh the beds"
After 10 days on the road in pretty much a different hotel every night, this is hands down the most comfortable bed of this trip. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful, even moving my room so I could be close to the guest laundry as I needed to do some. The room was clean, the bathroom also very clean, and good water pressure and temperature. My only complaint is that sound from the pool carried to my room, but having a room near the pool was the price to be paid for being near the laundry. I recommend this hotel and will stay again if work brings me back through.

"Great hotel, suite was very nice"
Stayed there the night before the solar eclipse, hotel was full so I upgraded to the suite, was nice a roomy with a western flavor. Had a nice sitting area with comfy couch and easy chair. The bed was one of the best I have slept on, not sure if same in all rooms, but was in this one.

This is a nice hotel, well worth the cost. The staff are informed and helpful and very pleasant. The décor is pleasing and the breakfast provided a variety of items- the cold items were cold and the hot items were hot - you don't get that in every hotel. We will stay there again on our next trip.

Our overall experience with this location was very positive. Staff was friendly and courteous, rooms were clean. Room had memory foam type mattress which I am not a fan of but that is a personal preference.

I have stayed here before. I liked the renovations they had done. We had a quick check in at the desk. The room looked nice. The bathroom toilet had not been cleaned well under the toilet seat. I was disappointed to see that. We went to go swimming the pool was cold so I can only guess it is not heated. One area of concern was the pool deck. It was painted and I felt it would be easy for someone to slip and fall. I feel it should have more texture to it for guest safety.

I should have looked into more BW on our trip to Alaska and back. The place was very reasonably price and very clean. The only drawback was the lack of restaurants in walking distance, only fast food choices.

"maybe we got a lemon room"
Too bad our room had a broken a/c. which put temp at 85. Plus the toilet leaked and ran constantly. Staff transferred us to another room but we had to haul all our luggage down a flight of steps. No elevator in this hotel. That room also had leaky toilet so hard to sleep with running toilet. Overall - a pretty bad experience.

"Decent but far from great"
The room is fine, price is reasonable, employees are cordial. The problem lies in the service and the cleaning staff. We were checked in and given a key to a room that hadn't been cleaned yet and had to wait over an hour for the room to be cleaned. The second day of our four day stay, our room was not cleaned at all. This was our second annual trip to the area and our second four night stay and, unfortunately, we have had issues with the cleaning staff both years.

The room I reserved was given to another guest. I was overcharged for my stay. Switched credit cards upon arrival and both were charged. My room wasn't cleaned once during my 3 day stay. They ran out of coffee at breakfast.

"Would not stay again, would not recommend"
The motel was generally okay but the room cleaning service was inadequate. The internet was not secured so couldn't use it. The roof leaked. The breakfast was awful. Only ate it once, tried a second time but, had to skip once I saw the dinning area conditions and food on buffet. Pool area was not cleaned while we were there for three days.

"Visiting family in area"
Was not pleased with our experience. There hallways on upper levels were not air conditioned. The air also did not work in our room. We made management aware of the issue and they said to adjust the thermostat. We did this and upon our return from visiting family, it was still hot. Called front desk around 11 pm and asked for another room. Never received a phone call back and had to call them back an hour later. Switched us to a smoking room with one less bed (3 of us). The room was cool but the smell was horrible and the pullout couch was as well.

We were very pleased with our visit here. We were on family vacation and decided to stay a little out of Louisville after doing activities there. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast was great, room was spacious, pool was fun, and price was right.

Stayed at Best Western Shelbyville Lodge on trip to Pittsburgh after touring Jim Beam American Stillhouse. Went to tour Louisville Slugger factory next day before continuing on to Pittsburgh. Location was good for both of these tours
"Clean rooms, great service"
The hotel is very clean, as was our room. Jeri (@ the front desk) excelled at customer service. She was friendly, but professional, and incredibly helpful with all of our questions and requests. We will be sure to stay here again, whenever we're in the area.
"Hotel is Ok, Given Time Staff will be too."
I stayed at this hotel for a family reunion, we reserved 25 rooms, all to be on the first floor, since they do not have an elevator. By choice, we ultimately only needed 11 rooms, but 2 were put on the 2nd floor. We had a total of 43 individuals, adults and children; One of the guest services employees was extremely friendly and helpful; one was somewhat helpful, one was rude, one was on the verge of being rude due to his lack of training; and one was extremely rude, fortunately for any new guests going to this hotel he will not be there; so you will have a chance at having a good experience with the guest services staff. The breakfast was okay. The kitchen staff was very nice and helpful and she tried her best to accommodate the hotel guests needs. The overall appearance of the hotel is .in need of some serious upgrades. The washing machine was broken most of the week we were there, due to some previous guests and was not repaired while we were there, so we hand washed and then dried our clothes in the dryer. The pool decking is extremely slippery when wet, our small children fell numerous times trying to walk around the pool, adults had to walk gingerly around the pool area also. The pool was kept clean at all times, but it needs to be refaced and repaired too. there was a gazebo type area in the pool area, but the covering did not do it any justice, did not keep the rain away, and did not completely cover it. We used their grill on a daily basis, but the grill is in serious need of an upgrade. One grill was totally broken, the other was in desperate need of repair or replacement. It worked, but barely, they did provide a pair of tongs and a scrubby brush for the grills, no other utensils were available (we asked). Some rooms had a smell that was undefinable and my relatives had to be moved to other rooms, others were ok. the staff is not very good at enforcing quiet rules in general. Since this seems to be a destination spot for travelling teams (basketball girls team; boys baseball team, etc), it seemed that the chaperones did not control what their kids did or how late they were running up and down the hallways, when we called the front desk, it fell on deaf ears. Since the overall rudest guest services individual is no longer going to be there, his attitude towards my family will not be addressed here. It was brought to the attention of the new owner and he is aware. Overall given time, the new owner will have this hotel up to par with BW standards, but for now, just know that it is in a transitional state. Oh, must say that the cleaning staff were very good, although a few of them spoke no English at all, so take your chances with trying to get things. Overall, My family said that it was in a great location for everything that we wanted to do, and they were overall happy, so that is all that matters to me.
"Almost There"
The bw is almost a great place to stay. They need to do a little work though. The rooms need seem stale, need some attention. They are clean, just seem to feel incomplete. Pool area needs some help also. Over all, I would stay their again. The price point is right on, staff was great and the breakfast has a verity.

Great breakfast. Comfy room; clean. Well taken care of property and pool. Queen size beds with Best Western's wonderful pillows. Bathroom enclosed separately from the room; heat lamp. Bath towels to fit adults.
"Disappointed & dated...."
We chose to stay here on short notice based on the TA reviews.... I'm not sure what hotel the people that are giving 5 stars to this hotel are staying.. but I don't see how it is this one. We called to make the reservation and specifically asked for a King sized bed. We confirmed that at the front desk when we checked in. Get to our room... and only had a queen. To make it funny... it looks like they made the bed with king sized sheets! Putting king size sheets on a queen sized bed doesn't make it a king. Hallways were very warm, there was no elevator, which they didn't tell us. The hotel is dated... maybe the lobby has been updated but I don't see how they would consider the rooms updated.

Great hotel for the price. Outstanding staff!!! Comfortable beds. Absolutely beautiful pool area. Compared to the prices of hotels in metro Louisville, staying here is a no brainier. We will definitely stay again

"pool looks great, room disappointing"
Lobby nice, pool looked great. Front desk attendant was nice, but multiple piercings was distracting. Questioned room cleanliness since Maid left dirty gloves on top of refrig. Towels not in room, I had to go to front desk to get them. No washcloths available. Felt maid was half way done, does that mean our bathroom wasnt clean or what? Floor didnt appear vacuumed. Door to bathroom wouldn't close. Chair arm all torn up. AC door kept falling off, AC leaking onto floor and luggage. Noone at desk when I left for me to give feedback. I called out, but after a minute of no response, I just left my keycards.

"A little outdated, but decent"
I've used this hotel for many years now, but I have to say age is starting to get the best of it. The staff is very friendly, but the rooms themselves need work. During my first visit this past month, our toilet seat wasn't even attached to the toilet and the bathroom fan was broken. During the return trip back home, the lamp in our room was busted. Maintenance seems to be an issue nowadays. Furthermore, on some halls, non-smoking rooms are placed right next to smoking rooms so you still smell cigarettes all the time. The continental breakfast was decent, but the staff description of it upon check-in was a little overhyped. On a related note, we were told the hotel doesn't have elevators because it is a historical building, which doesn't seem to be the case, but that doesn't really matter to us anyway. Be aware, however, that if you get a second floor room, you'll be hauling your luggage up steps.

"passing through Kentucky"
Staff was most helpful and pleasant. Room was nice not the best, could use upgrades. Pool was a bit dirty but it was the end of the day it seemed like the pump and filter were not working. Breakfast items were limited but the staff that worked in the kitchen and served the food was outstanding. The room rate was a very good value. We had a good night sleep.

"My 6th 'glowing-review' of this particular BW hotel"
Well., I can now say that I've had the pleasure of staying at this particular Best Western hotel for more than 2 dozen times over the past 4 years (to attend the 6 consecutive weekend long 'Kentucky Renaissance Faire' in nearby Eminence, KY) with each occasion for a 3-night stay, as I need to travel approximately 6 hours (1-way) from north-central West Virginia for each weekend that I decide to attend the 'Ren-Faire'. The cleanliness and maintenance of this hotel is GREAT., and so too is the building lay-out, which has GREAT accessibility, with multiple access doors (5.!) around the building, which is GREAT for those like myself who have a bit of a 'mobility' / walking problem.! Also, the maintenance of everything., from the parking lot, the quality (and care of) the swimming pool, breakfast room, exercise room, Wi-Fi internet system, vending & ice machines, etc., AND the quality of the 'staff'., from those at the 'front-desk' to the cleaning & maintenance staff., has NEVER failed to disappoint me..!! As far as the rooms are concerned (at least the ones that I've stayed in) are GREAT.! They've always been very clean, spacious, comfortable, and even well decorated.!, with GREAT amenities, from fast internet, quiet air conditioning / heating units, comfortable / firm beds, spacious bathrooms, etc.. What else good can I say., especially when compared with the more-than-reasonable prices charged.! And I'd also like to give a special THANKS., to Luke and Melissa at the 'front desk' on this particular occasion., for being quite helpful with the 'checking-in' process for our (my wife & I) room.!! "Always Clean and Quiet"
This is my fourth time staying at this Best Western, and it always meets expectations for a clean and quiet stay. I will say that in the past (about two years back) there have been some issues accommodating a request for an early check in, which has been difficult considering that several times I've arrived after a 15 hour drive, completely exhausted. However this visit and the previous one have been stellar. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is near several fast food restaurants for ease of access. They have free breakfast every morning which is pretty standard fare, and to my surprise they also have dinner every Tuesday and Thursday! (I've yet to try it). The outdoor pool has always been very well kept and seems to be a nice area to relax and enjoy a book as well as swim. Definitely a recommended place to stay in the Shelbyville area!

"Stayover in Shelbyville, KY"
Our 'go-to' place to stay when we travel from home to our daughter's place in Agency, MO. Want a great meal? Go to the Cattleman's Roadhouse just down the road from the BW (@ 221 Brighton CIrcle...use your GPS). Always clean with a decent complementary breakfast (lots more choices in flap jacks and waffles than in previous stays!). Staff is respectful and helpful!

"most helpful"
The crew at this hotel is outstanding. They were helpful and accomodating. We had someone with small children and they let us use the empty breakfast room to have pizza and drinks for the family when the kids arrived. they made very good suggestions for things for us to do while there and we did a couple of them. Excellent.

"Unclean and not customer focused"
Arrived at the hotel for a wedding only to be told our room wasn't ready Once we did get into the room the floors were not swept and just dirty Hotel needs updated and cleaned bettter Pool is to be used at your own risk Price matching is a joke for room rates Filled out a complaint to corporate but was told I had to have it in within 24 hours of my stay for the price match so I was denied Now I know where there lack of customer focus comes from!!!

"Nice"
The motel is up to date, it is clean and the bed is comphy. The internet is fast, The night clerk is a little lacking, and there was no ashtry in a smoking room. I would recommend this motel to anyone needing a nice place to stay.

"Great Place to Stay for the Bourbon Trail"
Nothing fancy but clean with friendly folks. Stayed here as it was a centralized location for the distilleries we wanted to see. Plus they accept AARP which saved me even more. Nice breakfast in the morning and Tuesday night they serve a pasta dinner for guests.

"Amazing staff"
Great hotel! The staff were wonderful. They went above and beyond to make our soccer team and families feel welcome. They let us use the breakfast room and they have a couple of bbqs by the pool that meant we could keep the cost of dinner down for our familes. Thank you so much Best Western Shelbyville.

I stay at this hotel every week. There are other choices in Shelbyville, but I choose Best Western because everything is always perfect. Great comfortable guest rooms. Friendly attentive staff and a wonderful breakfast hostess that makes the breakfast experience warm and welcoming. Property is extremely well kept and this is a very safe hotel to stay in. Many dining options are close by and very close to Louisville.

This was by far one of our most enjoyable hotel experiences to date. The staff was very helpful and professional. The hotel was clean, easily accessible from the expressway, and conveniently located near shopping and eateries!

Nice place that is being REDONE. But they are covering up mistakes with PUDDY and it is showing through. Help is nice and conciderate and the plase is clean. Scale of 1 to 10... I'll giv it a 8+ OR A to F.. a B+ Pillow top needs to be replaced... we sunk into the center

Our stay was good, hotel needs a little updating but was very clean. Free breakfast was great. The staff was very, very helpful. Good location, close to restaurants and stores. Rooms were clean. Good value for what we paid.

"It was fine..."
We've stayed here a few times. Always friendly staff. This time was a bit different. We always get a handicap room, as one of us is disabled. We asked for the same room as before, if available. The gal said she remembered me but then asked, "umm, do you need that type of room?" This was a turn off. I understand people ask for these rooms to get first floor (no elevator), but if you in fact remember us and you know what room we're asking for that we've been in twice before (101).....yes, we need a handicap room! We were put in a different handicap room (123) which was fine, however this room must not be used often. It was at the very end of the hall by an emergency exit. The door was surrounded by cobwebs! Upon entering and closing the door we saw a large gap along the left side of the door, in which you could see out into the hallway. The room was very spacious as was the bathroom. WiFi was good, as always. Plenty of good, thick towels in the bathroom and many grab rails. However, there were cobwebs all over in the bathroom....and along the ceiling in the room....and two spider bites happened. Everything else in the room was great! Comfy beds, good linens, nice sized TV (chanel selection is a bit small, but doable), good HVAC unit. Fridge/Micro in room as well. The front desk wasn't as friendly as usual...we will pass it off as a bad day. We will be back and hope things will be excellent like prior visits.

Our room was a smoking room, I was offered a non smoking room but decided to stay where I was. The room was nice. It was big and clean. Didn't smell like smoke at all. Hot water was slow to get hot. But overall it was nice.
"Newly remodeled."
I value a clean room and facility and this hotel met up to my standards. The facility has recently been remodeled. Bed was ok , room was clean, breakfast was nice, the Tuesday evening complimentary spaghetti dinner was a no frills nice touch. We didn't have to go out after a day of driving and it hit the spot. I would recommend this property to other travelers.

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff is always so helpful and delightful. rooms are always clean and very comfortable beds. The pool was very nice and very clean. This hotel will always be my home away from home.
"One night stay"
After a long day we decided to get a room and sleep a few hours. This hotel looks clean and the reviews wasn't real bad so we reserved. When walking into the room it felt to be zero degrees. We turned the heat on and it didn't seem to be getting warm at all. Turns out the window was wide open! Closed the window and finally by 2am it was warm enough to take a shower ( heat lamp in bathroom doesn't put out heat). I notice the trash can is running over ( I'm tired and assume the house keeper just forgot it no biggie). I go to shower......only 2 wash clothes. ( what will we do in the a.m.) I decide I don't care I'll use the small towel tomorrow morning. We get in bed 2:30 am. Car alarm goes off at 3:00am I'm up. Ugh! Reach for the lamp to go see what's going on it don't work. I go to my window and the alarm is off. Go back to the bed check the lamp, it's unplugged and there is no clock for light either, I plug it up and nothing so I further investigate, no light bulb! I move the bulb out of my husbands side lamp to mine and finally light. It's 4am now so I finally lay back down after all check out is at 11 no problem I'll sleep till 10 then grab a shower and head out. Just before my clock ( on my phone) goes off I hear knock knock housekeeping...... Before I can get awake enough to say just a minute she's in my room! Thankfully I was able to speak and she apologized and closed the door. OMG! I go get my small towel get a shower and I'm gone before 11. What was suppose to be a rest ended up being more tiresome than if I'd have drove the 4 hours home since I could have been there by 4am. I didn't complain because I don't like doing that and I was to tired to change rooms and it was clean other than the trash. The beds are comfortable but the sheets don't fit and they flip off all night long. Feeling this was just bad luck and a bad night I would return if I had to have a place to stay in the area at midnight.
"Thanksgiving Family visit"
Not happy. Dirty hotel, and rooms. Many items in our room not working properly. No one seemed to care, except for one very nice housekeeping woman. (I wish I had gotten her name)who did her best to help us out.

They have renovated most of this hotel. When they used the shower in the room above me it sounded as though they were jackhammering the floor the entire time. I can also hear every word anyone said in the hallway. Smoking is allowed upstairs, however when I entered the hotel near my room downstairs, the smoke smell was terrible. There are better options nearby for a little more money.

Friendly staff. Breakfast closed early. Nice place for the money and good location. Staff corrected the problems we had and was very friendly about it. Would stay here again but would check room first.

We have stayed at this facility and vowed never to return, but due to circumstances, we went back. We were pleasantly surprised with the facility. The hotel was modernized, the rooms clean and the breakfast very adequate. The staff were helpful and respectful.

I have stayed in this hotel before and I always enjoy it. The beds are VERY comfortable and the staff friendly. No elevator, but only two floors. Easy access due to multiple entrances. The biscuits and gravy are great!

"Great Place to Stay!"
Was in Shelbyville for family wedding and this hotel was perfect! Clean, comfortable and quiet! Was close to where I needed to be and there was great shopping nearby too! I love staying someplace where you can just go down and get breakfast when you get up. Perfect!
"Adequate accomodations"
Adequate accommodations, but staff was unable to process our $50 coupon we had earned through rewards program. Management had not given them password to process coupons creating problems for the employees and the guests. Had to discuss upon checkin and again at checkout as it had not been addressed overnight as promised. Breakfast shut down precisely at 9:00am, not even allowing us to sit and finish our coffee while planning our day and watching the news. (TV's were shut off, I suspect they were on a timer) The door was slammed behind us by a staff member. Combined, this all created a very unwelcoming feeling. Mattress as comfortable, but the pad was too small for the mattress, causing both the pad and the bottom sheet to pop off the corners.

"Southern hospitality in Shelbyville, KY"
We did not have a reservation when we stopped here on a Sunday night. The front desk check-in woman (did not get her name) was very helpful. She made sure we got a room on the first floor and also told us about a great local place for dinner; Claudia Sanders Dinner House (which was built by Colonel Sanders for his wife, Claudia). Very nice place and generous homestyle cooking. We would have stayed here again but we did not go through Shelbyville, KY on the return trip home.

"Family weekend in ShelbyvilleKY"
Visited Shelbyviile for a family function. We were pleased with the room & experience. Clean & comfortable, great value. No problems encountered. It is not a new building, but maintenance is good. Happy we could bring our dog along with us and she stayed for a reasonable fee. Would definitely stay here again.

"Not happy"
Never never again will I stay at this hotel, found hair on my towels,floor was not vacuum,tub looked nasty staff was smoking on the patio, called the front desk ,with no answer, I always stay at the Ramada are Holiday Inn but neither had rooms,

"Third room was not a charm"
When we entered the room we were given it was not the king bed that was confirmed on booking. They then moved us to a king room..the light in the bathroom was either burned out or a problem with the flourescent fixture. After waiting for about 30 minutes to have it fixed we were told there was no one to fix it. They finally moved us to the third room. The flourescent light inside the door didn't work, the table lamp on the desk didn't work ( maybe needed bulb replacement) and the toilet took 3 flushes to actually flush. When we told them in the morning about the room's issues they asked if we told the night staff......we had already been told there were no more rooms avilable and truthfully we were just tired of moving rooms...This is not a reflection on the staff who did apologize.They are adverising for a maintenance man on the front motel sign.The breakfast room was also very small and had seating for about 24 people(and there were more than that number there looking for places to sit. There was a long bar on one side of the room.....perhaps a good idea would be to add stools to that area.....

"Great Staff; clean motel"
The people at this place do care about guest comfort. They have a clean, modern place and their care of it is a reflection of the comfort they want guests to feel. The problem with the in-room frig wasn't a staff problem, but because someone had cut it off. It was easy to remedy without alerting the staff.

Totally surprised and satisfied with the hotel, room, pool, amenities, cleanliness, etc. Great sized room and tastefully furnished, clean, friendly staff, beautiful pool area, free popcorn & breakfast. Couldn't ask for more in a nice place to stay. Would recommend it for anyone.

The owners are terrific and keep the place very neat and clean. The rooms have upgraded furniture and are equally clean. King room had a nice new(er) upholstered chair with a matching ottoman to add to the comfort. You will find complimentary newspapers and popcorn at the front desk and if you stay midweek, a free small supper which changes but always appears to be [mostly] homemade. A lot of nice extras that you will not find elsewhere, even at a higher price.

This is the best Best Western I have ever stayed in. Very clean, nice atmosphere, helpful staff. If you miss the breakfast they will give you a travel bag with an apple, water, and health bar. They have a popcorn machine just off the lobby with popcorn fresh each afternoon. I would definetly recommend this hotel and the rate was a lot better then other places I stayed on my multi state trip.

I am not very good and usually dont fill out surveys but this BW is a very nice place to stay. Everybody is so nice and very helpful. Jeri the front desk clerkis always so nice and helpful. we usually stay here 3 or 4 times a year. I usually see the same employees each time we stay.

The only problem we experienced was a strong smoke odor in the hallway outside our room, If we had known it was not a non-smoking hotel, we would have looked elsewhere. The rooma were comfortable and clean, the internet was quick and easy.

The outside looks a little drab but the inside is wonderful. The rooms were clean, and it was the best bed I have ever slept on. The service was wonderful. Everyone there was so friendly. The outdoor pool is amazing, and the free breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

"Shelbyville Stay"
I originally chose this hotel because it was conveniently located on a trip between Missouri and the east coast. I have stayed there four times now, not just because it is convenient, but because of the service, the condition of the property, quality of the rooms and the price. I even stayed an extra day one visit, just to explore the Shelbyville area. I highly recommend it.

"A great hotel"
The hotel was very clean and very quiet. The staff was extremely polite. The television reception was inconsistent, but that was just a minor problem. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I was in the area.

"Friendly staff"
I stayed here while coming back from vacation. I called ahead to check availability and rates. When my wife arrived the staff was friendly and helpful. It appears that they have updated their rooms. They offer a limited breakfast buffet.

"Excellent stay"
Stayed 2 nights on September 9 & 10. Excellent rooms, very clean. Excellent breakfast. Great all around service. Will stay again. Great staff and very helpful. No complaints. Clean restrooms. WIFI great.
"No problems during our stay"
Our room was clean, we had several tv channels, and our bed was comfy. Our tub didn't drain well but other than that, no issues. I did think the room felt humid when we walked in but it cooled off once we turned the air down. :)

Front desk was very friendly and pool was nice. Breakfast was slim picking and gross. Although it is free, I have stayed at many hotels with a decent breakfast. The rooms were ok, the floor in the bathroom was dirty and room smelled musty. For $100 a night it was disappointing. Can't say we will go back.
"Nice Place WIth Friendly Staff"
Stayed here one night. The facility is very clean and well-maintained. The only drawback is the lack of an elevator for guests. If that is a problem, be sure to ask for a ground floor room. Breakfast is nothing special at all, just the usual make-your-own waffle, bagels, cereal, etc, but the breakfast room is very clean and pleasant (lots of space). Pool area is quite attractive. Perhaps the best part of this place is the exceptionally friendly staff, both at check-in and check-out. Probably the nicest welcome I have ever had at a place like this. The value for money is excellent here. Would definitely stay here again.
"Nice Area"
The staff at the hotel are very kind and helpful, the pool is great very clean area and gas grills are located by the pool (used by the guest from what I saw, it's kind of cool for those watching money). The place was very clean and quite for the most part. I'm sure it was just a bad night for us but someone kept running up and down the steps all night for several hours, not sure why. We called the front desk and it did stop for about a half hour but then continued after that until about 4 AM. All in all the location is close to the interstate and this area is beautiful. Rates are affordable and they do take discounts. Just don't take a room near he steps.

the stay overall was good. Beds and room were comfortable and very clean. Did not use pool, but it and the area was very clean. The only negative part was the items that were offered for breakfast. At the time we were there, there were no eggs of any type, no fruit to choose from and the coffee was weak. We had gotten there around 7:30am so there should have been a lot more to offer.

Christine, Thank you for your review. Sorry about breakfast. There are 2 days a week that we do not cook eggs we use Hard Boil Eggs in the refrigerator. The 2 days are substituted with home made hash browns. I have mentioned all these items to our breakfast attendant and making sure that everything is corrected. We always have bananas and apples. I have been checking this every morning... Hope to see you again... We strive to change our menu according to each guests. Hopefully is it working Thank you for your comments
"Very Clean"
This is a very nice hotel for the business traveler or a family on vacation. The outdoor pool is clean and well maintained as are the hotel grounds. Security is good with the exterior doors having an actual working lock system (most hotels have this, but often don't work properly). Room was clean & comfortable with excellent shower water pressure. Staff is friendly and ready to help.
"Hotel stay "
Not a bad hotel but have stayed at better in the same price range. Housekeeping too eager to clean room. Came back from breakfast with the whole hallway littered with wet towels from everyone's room. Can you say tripping hazard. One day we were did not leave our room soon enough so guess what, our room was not attended to. Staff not unkind but no one went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. And if you have back problems find a different hotel as the mattresses were no very supportive.
"Best Western Shelbyvill"
I booked this hotel because the on line reviews gave it 5 stars. This facility is not 5 star. The highspeed internet was awful. Had to use my phone as a hot spot to connect to the internet. The pool was so slippery that I fell trying to step into it. The TV reception was awful. The bathroom was dirty, and the room was damp and smelled of mildew. Will not stary here again.

"Shelbyville Horse Show"
I had a terrific stay! We were here for the Shelbyville Horse Show! Everyone one at the hotel was a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend staying here to anyone. For price / value I feel it exceeded my expectations. The location is very central to Louisville and Lexington. This is in the heart of horse country. We will stay here again in the future. The staff is very understanding, and helpful.

Thanks to the staff for a great stay, ideas for places to eat, nice pool, and a hot breakfast. Loved the flax option for the waffles and pancakes. We were upstairs and they gave us the option to cut through their conference space lobby to get to our room easier. Nice to have grills available for guest use on the deck of the pool area. Close to places to get food to cook.

Very clean room, pool, hotel overall. Nice, safe location. Extremely friendly helpful and friendly check-in staff. The room was also quite large and had a refrigerator. My only complaint and this is minor, is that the beds were a little too soft for me.
"Wonderful hotel"
My brother and a friend were visiting us in Kentucky for several days. My husband and I visited the hotel to see the rooms and facilities. ,Geri greeted us with a welcoming smile and gave us a tour. We were very impressed and reserved two rooms for their visit. Geri assured us she would take good care of our relatives, and so she did. My brother raved about the rooms, the facility and the staff. He usually stays at upscale hotels but said he would stay at this Best Western again in a heartbeat.
"Always caring and nice"
We have men that come in town to work for our Masonry Company. They always stay at Best Western and always have a great experience there and the lady during the day named Terri is always very helpful and very nice. Things always go well when they stay there and the price is a good deal as well. We are always very pleased and so are the men that are staying there.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good. They have a very nice outdoor pool. They also serve dinner twice a week. We would definitely stay at this location again.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The hot/cold breakfast was good, with the regular selections. The pool area looked very nice, but I did not get a chance to use it, as we were passing thru.
"Very Unsatisfied Customer"
I was initially placed in a room that I felt very unsafe and overall uncomfortable situation ... Hotel management tried to accommodate initially and then recouped their accommodation by trying to add unjustified and unfounded charges over a week after my stay. Overall very poor people skills and customer service displayed , especially by management of this hotel.
"Girls Weekend"
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Staff couldn't have been any more helpful or nicer. The room was very clean and it was nice to relax around the pool after shopping. They offer a very nice selection of breakfast items with coffee that was excellent. Easy access to the interstate. Hotel conveniently located to The Outlets of the Bluegrass, restaurants, golf and within minutes of Louisville.

Checking in and checking out was very quick and the clerks were both very cordial and helpful. The breakfast served at the hotel was plentiful and good. Everyone at the Hotel were always ready to help if we needed them. We've stayed at this hotel many times and will continue to do so whenever we visit.

I was part of a Wedding Block of rooms. 3 other guests had issues with their reservations resulting in last minute scrambling to get rooms at other local hotels because the reservation had been screwed up! Very unacceptable! Also the halls and the room i stayed in were very smokey smelling. My room must have previously been a smoking room when it was alllowed in public places...I ended up with respiratory issues as a result.
"Nice place, minus problems with their fire alarm system"
Well the room was fine. The pool was very nice. Had a great breakfast. However something was malfunctioning with their fire alarm system. The alarm went off every few minutes from midnight until 3:30 am! We ended up going to our cars to sleep during part of that time. In the morning, they gave us a full refund, so we ended up being happy about that; however VERY tired the next day. Probably wouldn't stay there again, as a construction worker who was staying there all month said this happened earlier on in his stay as well. I just don't trust that that problem wouldn't happen again!

I am a senior citizen and just stayed overnight but what a wonderful place.... the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and inviting. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

"Nice hotel, pleasant staff"
We broke up our travel to St. Louis from the East coast at the Shelbyville Best Western. Overall we were pleased, especially with the pool. We picked up dinner and ate at the pool side, making a nice break from a long day in the car. The breakfast was very nice, with several hot items in addition to the standard continental breakfast. The only problem with our stay was the strong odor of smoke in the hallway with non-smoking rooms.

"Nice place to stop on the way from Lexington to Louisville"
We had 4 couples and we stopped here - check in desk was very quick and helpful, the rooms were clean, breakfast was typical. We were not there long enough to enjoy the pool or any other amenities. We would stay here again.

"Just ok"
Just spent one night and it was ok. The hotel did have smoking rooms and the area I was in smelled like smoke. The wifi was not working and breakfast closed at 9 so we missed out on the free breakfast. It was an ok hotel but not a place I would choose again.

"Great stay"
Nice, clean rooms with everything in good working. Rooms had plenty of electrical outlets which is rare for most hotels. Check-in was quick and easy. There are numerous good restaurants nearby and the nice pool area was a plus. Great wifi!
"Hospitable Staff"
The accomodations were pleasant and the staff very hospitable. There is no elevator for the second floor, but the staff personnel carried our heavy bags for us. Sharon, the breakfast prep staff person was also very gracious and helpful.

The property was attractive and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was also clean, spacious and attractively decorated. Beds very comfortable. Great pool and good breakfast. The night we stayed they also had a customer appreciation dinner which was a bonus. Would definitely stay again.

you simply can't find a more caring and accommodating staff! Neat, clean , and comfortable rooms. Great place to stay with an outdoor pool. Staff arranged a pizza party in the breakfast room for our boys. They ordered the pizzas then went to the store to pickup the pop/soda we requested and provided plates, cups, ice, and napkins at no charge. We were very surprised as we were playing in a tournament all day and didn't have time to do all this. Simply Awesome for a mid-size hotel.

We stayed at Best Western for 3 nights and it was totally awesome! From the time we checked in until we checked out, we were very satisfied! The front desk employees welcomed us and explained all we needed to know for our stay. The breakfast they provided was wonderful! "Great place to stay"
Just returned from a mother-daughter getaway to the Louisville area. We wanted to go to the Horseshoe Casino in Indiana and to the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville, KY. I read TripAdvisor reviews and chose this hotel. SO glad we did. The employees (from the desk to the maids) were all friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, the beds comfortable, and our double queen room was spacious. The hotel seemed fully booked and I was amazed at how quiet the rooms were. The free breakfast had plenty of good choices, and we were told that free spaghetti and meatballs were offered for dinner. (We had already eaten) We booked our reservation through TripAdvisor and found that to be quite convenient. The hotel served as an excellent "home base". We will definitely go back to this hotel the next time we "run away from home" for some fun. :)

Well., I've now had the pleasurable experience of staying at this particular Best Western hotel on almost two (2) dozen occasions over the past 3 years (mainly for the use of attending the local 'Kentucky Renaissance Faire' in nearby Eminence, KY), with each time for a 3-night stay..!! And so far., the quality, cleanliness, maintenance, etc. of the building lay-out / accessibility, the parking lot, the rooms, the swimming pool, the internal facilities (breakfast room, Wi-Fi internet, vending & ice machines, etc.)., AND the quality of the 'staff'., from those at the 'front-desk' to the cleaning-staff., has NEVER failed to disappoint me..!! Especially when compared the VERY reasonable prices charged., though of course, I wouldn't want them to raise their prices, just because of those like myself that have given them such great reviews of their establishment, and would hope that a continued increase in their 'occupancy-rate' would make-up for any increases in their continued 'cost of operations'..!! And I'd like to give a special THANKS., to Miss. Jeri at the 'front desk' this time., for helping to get my room number changed, to a location that better met my needs as a 'semi-handicapped'., Renaissance Faire attendee..!! Cheers, Eric
"Clean, friendly staff, convenient"
This hotel was great and I would recommend it to anyone. Couple of disappointments though. When I put the contents of the hotel tube (provided in the shower) in my hair, I discovered it was body lotion. So I had to get out of the shower and get in my suitcase to grab my emergency bottle of shampoo. Since all the floors are tile, this could have had dire consequences for my 68 year old body. My only other complaint (minor) was breakfast. I saw "hot" in the description and assumed - incorrectly - there would be meat & eggs. There was a nice variety though - biscuits & gravy, diced potatoes, waffles, oatmeal & cereal. But the bed was amazing - really comfortable. The room was clean. The pool looked clean also. We also appreciated the easy access to I-64. We will come back here if we travel this was again.

We stopped here on the way to Tennessee. The hotel is very nice and clean with a nice patio / pool area that had a lot of seating, a grill, and a pool our kids enjoyed. The rate was a pleasant surprise as well. I would stop here again. There was snacks and a breakfast as well.

Everything was great at this hotel. Would recommend. Staff extremely nice and accommodating. Room was very clean. Pool area very nice. Dog friendly hotel. Good location for doing the Bourbon Trail. Halfway between Louisville and Frankfort. Easy on and off the freeway.
"Patriot Guard Event Weekend"
Everything we needed we asked for and got. Friendly workers from top to bottom. Clean. The hallways were a little warm, but who could blame them for saving energy. The rooms were comfortable and the beds were the greatest. The wifi may have been a little weak but there were a lot us that probably signed on at the same time.

We stopped here for the night on our way back from Chicago. It was a very nice, spacious, and clean room. We had the complementary breakfast which consisted of a waffle and pancake maker, eggs, sausage and gravy, and a lot more. The pool area looked really nice and was recently renovated, wish we had more time for the kids to enjoy it. The hotel staff was nice and courteous. Next time visiting the Simpsonville Outlets or needing a stop when passing through we will stay here again.

"Recently Stayed"
Overall, good. There was only one available outlet in our room, so bring a power strip if you have several electronics. Breakfast ends at 9 am and there is only one waffle maker so if you like waffles, get there with plenty of time to eat. Rooms were clean. Staff friendly.

"Feels like home!"
Been staying there over a year, 6 days per week, due to work. The staff goes over and above. They feel more like family now. They figured out I leave early and even though the breakfast room wasn't open yet, they always made sure I had a good breakfast. Coffee was always hot and fresh and ready to go. They put me in a room that I liked that was quiet and somewhat private. They were very accommodating, putting me in that same room each week. The rooms have microwaves and refrigerators and my room had a rocking recliner. The pool is great after a workout in the fitness room. Anyone who is going to be staying long term, this is the place!

"BEST Western"
This was my second time staying at this hotel. I was in town for a wedding and had a great experience. The staff was very welcoming and organized. They took pride in every job done. They were able to answer any questions I had throughout my stay. The pool was extremley clean and it was nice to catch some last minute sun before my friends big day! Also, the breakfast served in the mornings was perfect! Anything I was in the mood for was available and delicious. Overall, GREAT stay yet again!! Thanks BEST Western, you all are truly the best.

"2 Day stay in Shelbyville Best Western"
Room was clean, Comfortable new chair, desk chair seemed new, 2 Queen beds were great, new bedding, can't share info on breakfast as we missed it both days! Only complaint was that housekeeping was lax on re-stocking room with towels, coffee supplies, emptying trash.

Very nice clean property with a very helpful staff, was in area for a family wedding and did it up right for the entire family! Rooms were all ready when we arrived and rooms always cleaned while we were away.

Clean, attractive. and pleasant staff, even though they were quite busy for the Kentucky Derby Weekend. They were able to accommodate the overbooking for the many people who were there for dinner. Breakfast was well staffed. Live music was a pleasant experience. Talented group. I would stay there again.
"Check reservation way before you go"
I booked this hotel through booking.com in April 2016. When we arrived yesterday, they didn't have a clue who we were. I showed them the reservation from my email, and they apologized and offered to find us another hotel. They were completely booked. We ended up just driving 5 hours home. Needless to say, I was not impressed. It looked like a beautiful, clean place and was perfect for our needs. The staff was nice, and I realize that it was not their fault. Booking.com users beware...

"Decent for the price"
The hotel, in various areas, has an odor. Some areas smell like smoke, others of must and some of bug spray. The lobby and outdoor patio area are nice features. The breakfast was ok, standard offerings. You get what you pay for.
"Unlikely to stay here again"
Although the staff is very pleasant and helpful, the hotel isn't quite as nice and relaxing as we would've liked. Our toilet didn't function properly. The problem was eventually solved because we were able to change rooms, but the initial solution was to give us a plunger so we could plunge the toilet ourselves! The hallway had an unpleasant cigarette smoke/musty smell. It was very noisy early in the mornings on the weekend we were there. Men who seemed to be construction workers staying in the hotel were talking quite loudly in the hallway on both mornings which woke us up earlier than we would've liked. The area around the hotel isn't very pleasant - not much to do and not really a family area.

The employees at this hotel went the extra mile to correct a problem I had made in the reservation. When you are traveling and tired you are so disappointed to find you have messed up your hotel stay. When the staff goes the extra mile to help you, it makes you so thankful. and appreciative. We booked a hotel room with another place and the lady was so rude and disrespectful. We found best western after eating dinner and wow is all I can say! They were amazing. We came down to Kentucky because my uncle had passed away and we were all so emotional and needed to rest before we traveled home to northern Illinois. Thanks for treating us with so much respect. Food was delicious. Room was very spacious and beds were comfy. Service was great. The front desk lady even gave us a "to go bag" that had a bottle of wAter , fruit and a granola bar in a cute little gift bag. Only downfall was the pool wasn't open yet for the season. But that was our fault for not asking. The pool opens next month lol
"Nice place, nice people"
The smell of just made popcorn and smiling faces greeted me as I walked in. The property is older but nicely kept up and renovated. There were good sitting areas both inside and out. The people were really pleasant and it had your typical free breakfast buffet with some hot items. The room was fine but I do wish they had makeup mirrors for us people who can't see our face anymore. If you prefer pancake type flat pillows- bring your own. Theirs were fluffy, but I liked them.

This is a decent, but average hotel. This was our second stay here and we will stay here again in the future. Our first stay was very nice and we got a great night's sleep. This time there were several rude guests who were talking loudly in the hallway and woke us up. We encountered no problems during our first stay; this time the bathroom door in our room required some significant maintenance, but it was not enough to report until we checked out. We will stay here again in the future.

This best western is nice, clean, freshly repainted all around good deal. I would have gave a 5 had they been able to extend my room. All in all great place to stay. Great breakfast. And the cook dinner on Tuesday and thursday.

This Best Western has excellent service. The employees were all very courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I got a smoking room and usually these rooms have a permanent smell to them. Not this time - the room was clean and didn't smell like a smoking room. I plan to stay here again and I would definitely recommend this Best Western to my friends.
"The Price Is Right !"
We stayed one night at this location and were pleased with the experience. The room was nice sized with 2 queens. The room had a flat screen tv, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The complimentary breakfast was good. Waffles and biscuits and gravy being the hot items, cold cereal, oatmeal , yogurt, bagels and muffins also available. There is also a McDonalds across the street if desired. Only negatives were the hairdryer, hardly any airflow even on high, and if your room faces the road, you'll hear the traffic. We will stay here again because the price was right!
"Overnight stay while traveling"
I stay at several Best Western's while traveling. This one was close to the interstate. Good price, clean rooms, excellent staff. Typical continental breakfast. Close to Walmart and several eating places.
"Great for travelers with pets."
We are on a road trip across America. We are also traveling with a dog. Based on recommendations from Cesar Millan (The Dog Whisperer), he suggests Best Western. While, sadly, not every Best Western accepts pets, the ones that did became the best places to stay during our trip. Attractive, comfortable, clean, friendly, safe, polite and we never had a complaint. I wish they all accepted dogs! A BIG Plus!

The staff at Best Western Shelbyville, KY was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious enough and clean. The breakfast was pretty good. My one complaint of this hotel was that the wifi service was inadequate - could not connect, or very slow speed.

We needed to book a stay last minute and chose the Best Western Shelbyville Lodge due to reviews and proximity. We had a very easy check in and check out and all the staff was incredibly nice. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The only thing I did notice was a smell of cigarette smoke in the halls but I could not smell any smoke in our non-smoking room. Overall, a very quick and easy stay. i would recommend and would stay again with my family. The fire place and fresh popcorn were a bonus. We did sleep past the free breakfast (only until 9 AM) so i cannot comment on that. thank you!

"Another Christmas in Shelbyville"
This was our third Christmas stay at the Shelbyville Best Western, and again it did not disappoint. The lobby was decorated and the fire made it warm and cozy if you wanted to relax. The rooms were spotless as usual and we made use of the fridge and microwave. The breakfast was as expected just as good as always with plenty to eat and great coffee. A small staff for the holidays was very attending and at the ready for any need or request. We will look forward to another stay in Shelbyville at the Best western.
"Excellent stay, with one exception"
The bed was very comfortable and the meals [chili dogs which my wife didn't care for but i liked for dinner, and biscuits and gravy for breakfast] were good. If not for some racist Republican guests in the dining room at dinner, the stay would have been perfect.
"avoid the noise"
This hotel was in general average at best. The bed was comfortable, and there was fresh popcorn at the entrance. However, the noise was obnoxious. We had a room facing the pool, and the pool party noise went on until the wee hours of the morning. Across the hall was a party, that was almost as loud. To make it worse the room itself was loud. The plumbing sounded like a vibrating bed! Overall, it's a lot of money for little sleep. The hotel staff are powerless to control the problem noise, so do yourself a favor and pick some place else.

Lobby was very impressive along with a Great Front Desk Staff! The rooms was very nice and VERY clean...Breakfast had a great selection. .Next time I drive on the 64 I will makes sure I stay at the BW in Shelbyville. It is nice to see that people still take PRIDE in what they do and actually care.
"Filthy!"
The first room we were assigned to was filthy. I immediately noticed that the floors had not been vacuumed since the last guest had left. I then looked under the beds for bed bugs (I do this in every hotel I stay in). I did not find any, but it was disgusting under them. There was mold growing on the base of the bed along with trash, dead bugs and some unidentifiable brown blob underneath. I then looked in the bathroom and realized that not only had the tub not been cleaned, the last person to use it must have been covered in mud because the tub was absolutely filthy! At that point I requested a room change. The man at the front desk was apologetic and gave us a different room. The 2nd one was marginally better. It had not been vacuumed well and there was still a lot of debris under the beds, but at least the tub was clean and I did not see any obvious signs of mold under the beds. By that point we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep, so we decided just to stay in that room. We also noticed that there was furniture in the 2nd room that was missing in the 1st (a table and chairs), which explained the huge empty space we noticed in the 1st room. When we checked out in the morning, I mentioned that the 2nd room was still not clean and she promised to have a manager call me, but they never did. Cleanliness is obviously not a priority at this hotel. Besides the above issues, the hall smelled musty and looked dirty. I will definitely never stay in this hotel again and would be reluctant to stay in another Best Western. Breakfast was also marginal. Certainly one of the least appetizing spreads I have seen at a hotel in a long time. Coffee was burnt, waffle tasted funny and the biscuits & gravy looked pretty bad. There were no eggs or breakfast meats. The one positive thing I will say is that the two people at the front desk I spoke with were extremely friendly.
"In the Rain"
Traveling on a cool, rainy night, we phoned the Best Western to check on room availability.It was great to be greeted with a happy, friendly desk clerk. She was very helpful when we spoke about the AARP discount, plus having a Best Western Gift Card we needed to use. In addition to having coffee for us in the lobby , the popcorn was an added bonus.
"Comfortable beds, quiet, lots of breakfast choices"
Bed was comfortable with lots of pillow choices. In a quiet area with a 24-hour waffle house across the street and a McDonalds beside it. Outdoor pool. Fitness center. Complementary breakfast with muffins, cereal, fruit, yogert, and biscuits and gravy.

Front desk staff not particularly friendly...tried to check in about 2 hrs early--nope...returned later to check in and were glad to find a clean, spacious room with a decently comfortable bed. Definitely not a very quiet hotel...the door hardware all needs some wd40 or something. Breakfast was fine, nothing special.
"Good place"
Great room. Large plenty of room - microwave and mini fridge - extra seating. Outdoor pool but was closed for winter. Small gym with cardio and just a couple Dumbbells. Breakfast was okay. Not much for protein. Waffles, oatmeal packets, yogurt, and plenty of pastries. Popcorn at night. Close to shopping and food. Asian buffet across the street is barely average, but the front desk said it was Great. Bed was very comfortable.

Good night's sleep. Friendly staff. WiFi worked. Nice bedding. Clean room and common areas. Good breakfast. Overall good value. I'd stay there again. All went as expected and room's amenities functioned as they should.

Great experience. Friendly staff. Google maps doesn't have a clue how to get there directly....not sure why. No complaints. Breakfast was reasonable. A little crowded in the morning. Trash in the breakfast area filled and overflowed, mostly due to busy morning than neglect.

I am not going into any details, but I stay in hotels more than half the year and this was a really nice place to stay. great value, totally friendly and helpful staff. This is a really safe bet. Very comfortable
"Brief stop in Frankfort"
Good choice for the price. Comfortable, clean room and the staff were friendly. The town of Shelbyville is a short drive away. Nothing close to walk to from the hotel, but that wasn't a big deal for us.

Very nice hotel the staff was very helpful. Fresh popcorn in lobby and a dinner snack free on Thursday evening .rooms were clean and beds very comfortable would recommend this only to any one . we had three rooms all very nice.

Booked a room here at the last minute while on a road trip to DC with the family, very warm and accommodating staff very friendly people! I travel for work also and I've stayed in best westerns all over the country, the Shelbyville kentucky location is by far the most accommodating for the price! Would recommend to anyone!
"Not so good..."
We stayed here on 10/9/15. The room was dirty and smelled like urine. I went to desk and showed them an example of the dirt that we spied from floor with wash cloth. Also told them the room had a urine smell and loose dirt on floor. He told me he would call and discuss with manager. Next morning I went back to desk and the lady said she had spoken with manager and they would reduce the charges some. I then told her that we had just pulled mattress cover off and found a large stain on our bed, and assumed it was urine and where smell was coming from. She would have manager call us on our way home. Two later and no call. I would not recommend this place.

We apologize for such a stay. Unfortunately, the mattress has been stained and was professional cleaned, but wanted to make it clear that it is not a urine stain. We would have been happy to move you to another room. Most mattress do get stains, especially in all hotels, but that is why we have mattress covers which were present on the bed. We did discount your room, but it is obvious you wanted a free night. My staff is very upset with the review and will use this as a learning experience to ensure our guest leave happy.

Easy to get to and close to venues (eating, shopping, entertainment). Very pleasant and helpful staff, good selection of breakfast options. Clean and neat hotel rooms. Would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting good value for the price.

The staff were so helpful. Confusion of the booking was quickly cleared up. Great room. Quiet location. Very nice. The breakfast was a typical serve yourself hotel breakfast. All good, no complaints, reasonable price with online booking.
"The Staff Is Incredibly Kind"
I had made the mistake of reserving the room for Oct 2 instead of the first, which was when we arrived. Melissa, the clerk on duty, found us a room and cancelled out the other reservation quickly and graciously. She explained things well and was anxious to see that we had everything we needed, including wi-fi directions. The young man who was also a clerk (sorry that I can't remember his name) was also a lovely, gracious host. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings he provides a choice of pinto beans/cornbread or spaghetti/French bread for guests. What a great cook he is. I had driven all day in pouring rain, so having something warm and comforting to eat without having to go back out into the rain was really appreciated. I never tasted better pinto beans in my life.

Always welcomed here. Many upgraded amenities at this hotel make the stay more pleasant. The internet has improved greatly along with the quality of the guest rooms. The staff and housekeepers go out of their way to help your stay more enjoyable. I would stay here again.

We stopped for a quick overnight rest and found comfortable beds and very clean. Nice dinner snack available the night we stayed - nice benefit. We did have a problem but management fixed it beyond our expectations
"Customer service is amazing"
We did not have a reservation and found the towns in the area were booked due to a convention. The two front desk attendants worked diligently to find us a room at another hotel to no avail. One of the attendants suggested we take a room that was reserved for someone who was arriving at 1:00 a.m. and they would ready another room for when he arrived. We had a spacious and very clean, comfortable room for the night with breakfast in the a.m. The breakfast room is clean and a nice selection of items for breakfast. We were only sorry we weren't staying longer.
