Clean very basic rooms. Free parking in front of hotel. Out of City center, 20-25 min walk. Standard room to small! We booked a family room but because of the third bed it was to small to fit our 1.20m babybed. We asked for a different room, had to pay €20 extra for more space (superior room?), a defect nespresso coffee machine and a dirty water cooker which had an old tea bag in it. So not to pleased about The service. Considering the higher price I would consider another hotel closer to the town center.
Thanks to all staff who made our visit so easy. Reception staff, house staff...all very friendly and extra helpful. The hotel is well maintained and very suitable for mid budget travel. The road noise is the only negative for us but it is ok. Suggestion to managers...ditch the Kellogg's cereals and add a decent muesli.
A business type hotel,NOT for leisure. Not used to dealing with dinner for groups,especially if dietary requirements. The pool was open BUT staff tried to dissuade me from using it. I had to get another towel or I could not have done so!
Spent one overnight on business. Staff were friendly and facilities were adequate. Food quality not great. Location is well out of town so difficult to see attractions without a car. Room was ok but showing its age - badly in need of upgrading.
I booked Amarys for one night on business trip. Personel is very friendly and certainly the lady in the restaurant who did all alone. Food was ok, but why put vinaigrette on an omelet? Nice rooms, quite standard. The corridor to the rooms was not cleaned, it's a pity as it gives a bad impression on what will follow. The price is maybe a little too high for this sort of hotel.
My wife & i recently returned from an excellent short break in France, We were to be based at the Best Western- branded Amarys Hotel, Rambouillet, 30 miles South of Paris, the main purpose of our trip was to visit Monet's Garden at Giverney, but the the itinerary included Chartres, the Palace of Versailles and to tour 2 chateaux in the Loire Valley, courtesy of Diamond Rail Travel who were excellent throughout. We would describe the Amarys as slightly better than budget, very clean and comfortable,with polite, hard-working & efficient staff, it even had a swimming-pool which was refreshing after a long coach ride. We were there on a Bed, Breakfast & Evening Meal basis and this is where my comments would maybe of use to future travellers. The breakfasts were probably the best Continental breakfasts we have ever had abroad, with plates replenished frequently & with excellent coffee. However, there was no choice as to our 3-course Evening meal, although I would assume that if any guests had specific dietary needs or requests, if the kitchen was told in advance, an alternative may be offered. Wine was included in the meal, but if one fancied another glass or carafe, much to my surprise, one had to pay, in cash ,for each round of drinks. The option of putting this on a tab was not available, even on a daily basis, a situation I put to our English Tour Manager who said that it was because guests had drinks & left without paying, which is nonsense, we were guests in a hotel on the outskirts of a town, where were we going to ?. On returning home, I queried this with our local Travel Agent who had sold us the trip & I was told later that this was a local management policy & not typical of Best Western, but it would be looked into, so maybe by now, the policy has changed. This was the only minor problem we experienced during our 3-night stay & I would recommend the itinerary & the hotel as representing good value for money. JW
hotel was by a retail park, no where to go for walks, the hotel was basic, room was awful, tiny window, bed comfortable, nice bedding. food was poor, ok if you are on a diet. they don't serve vegetable's. staff very nice.
Travelling with a coach group (approx 50), we had a very comfortable double room, and inclusive breakfasts and evening meals which were plentiful and delicious, though set menus for the evenings - didn't see what the normal a la carte menu was like. Room was well laid out, with very comfortable king-size bed and good shower facilities, tea and (Nespresso) coffee a little sparing but I expect more would have been provided, the staff were very helpful (and I always take my own peppermint tea!) Some guests were a bit noisy at night, but not the hotel's fault, and the room was a little hot as we were there just as a heatwave started, but all in all we were very pleased with the hotel, which was a good base for our coach trips to Versailles, Chartres, Amboise and Chateau de Chenonceaux, before leaving for Giverny and Eurostar home. Wifi available, reception provided password.
Very friendly staff, checked me in extremely quickly and were very helpful throughout the stay! Nicely upkeeped room with nespresso machine (could add more capsules than 1 per day though;) but thats the only complaint i could imagine.
This is probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, we were on half board basis at breakfast the power kept cutting of so could not make toast, boiled eggs or pancakes. The dinners were a set menu and extremely poor the final night of our stay the dinner was inedible several of the guests walked out and went across the road to eat in a local restuarant. I have complained to Best Western but they have just said that they tried to get a response from the hotel but failed and therefore there was nothing more they could do.
Decent hotel, friendly and helpfull staff. Parking is secure, and gate closed during night. Restaurant is pretty good, closed sunday though - and sp are the rest of the village. But there is a Indian restaurant just 10 min. away I do recommend! Hotel is located 20 min. walk from city centre. But its an okay and nice walk The rooms though, are VERY small - as in extremely small. They have bigger rooms, so make sure to ask for the ones with two beds. Unless you go for the small suites and pay extra. Pool is nice, and they have tennis court and fitness room. But the fitness room has VERY limited things to offer. If you need wifi for work, or just can´t live without it. Either for streaming or business purposes - I dont recommend this place. It´s free, but useless and deadly slow. Use your mobilephone, or get a sim-card downtown with data on, if you are from out of France. No lift, so don´t bring too much luggage.
Very unpleasant overall experience since the shuttle driver never showed up as promised. We used the shuttle 3 times since we had a wedding to attend a bit outside the city; this was a big mistake since he was late every time. One time he told us that he was still not awake when we called him after 30min of waiting So, big warning, don´t trust the driver, or any time that he might say that he will be there, we waited over one hour in the middle of the night in the rain. Get a taxi instead if you need to be on time or just want a reliable ride. Good thing they have a shuttle, but rather useless if it doesn´t work and they only give false promises. Also, hard to find an iron, finally after 15min or so the reception guy find one, and only one, and no iron board, not convenient if you need to iron your clothes. Other than that nothing wrong with the hotel, okay size of the rooms and they were clean.

Cher Client, Je tenais juste à vous rappeler que notre navette devait vous ramener de votre lieu de mariage à notre hôtel à une heure du matin cependant vous lui avez demandé à 3h du matin de venir vous récupérer pour 3H30 alors que cela n'était pas prévu évidemment puisque vous n'aviez pas programmée une horaire aussi tardive le chauffeur n'était pas disponible mais malgré tout il eut la gentillesse de venir vous récupérer alors qu'il avait fini son service. Sachez que nous n'avons jamais eu aucun problème avec notre Service Navette. Je reste à votre disposition, Bien cordialement. LA DIRECTION
We stayed at this hotel for four nights in July 2015. Haven't left a negative review for any hotel previously so here goes. Originally, I booked three nights direct through the website and then added a final night subsequently.This was also on the website, as they claimed they could not speak English when I rang up. The hotel never took my payment, from my online booking, even though it was an advance purchase rate, and they choose to process the bills, by hand at the hotel. The rate I booked at and the rate which came through on the email were different, being about €30 more expensive. As I had to add an extra night, I challenged them on this on the telephone, and they said they would sort it out when we got there. The final night was honoured at the correct price. Despite challenging the price with the manager and Best westerns complaints procedure(which is absolutely farcical as I spoke to first people in Italy- who were always on a break- and then to Phoenix Arixona by email) the hotel also added taxis and alcoholic drinks which I didn't use it consume to the bill. The taxis were subsequently removed the drinks were not. I had my car with me and very rarely drink alcohol. My husband said he had s couple of beers so we settled the €100 bill As there were 4 other parties of two and three with us, who had travelled for the same event, I can confirm that they too were overcharged for taxis they did not travel in and did not receive the rate they booked at-typically all getting overcharged by €30. I will never book a Best Western Hotel ever again. The complaints procedure, both locally, then with Italy, Arizona and then back in the UK gives me no faith that they value their customers. The hotel itself was noisy. The doors slam shut so if you have a noisy neighbour, or a noisy person above you then you are stuffed. The staff are also noisy when going about their business. The room was mostly clean and had a kettle. However, when we came to use the kettle, there was a dead wood louse in there! The shower was clean and of a good standard. The breakfast is a bizarre affair where you cook your own eggs and is quite expensive for what it is. Instead, go the industrial park behind the hotel and you will find an Aldi to top up on drinks and a lovely boulangerie selling piping hot pizzas, pastries, hot sandwiches and other delicacies for a tiny cost! We were on the ground floor and wanted to open the door to let some air in, but couldn't because there is no safety chain on it and people were wandering around outside. There is a nice pool area. The hotel is located about a15 minute walk from the main restaurants and shops. My main reason for posting this review is to ensure that other customers don't get ripped off like we did-particularly with the Euros being in France this year.
Nicely situated, close to Paris, good rooms with all expected and required amenities. Friendly staff. Good value for money. I just wish they had an elevator to get to the floor where my room was, because going up and down the stairs with the luggage is a bit of a job, but had I asked for help, the staff would probably have been friendly enough.
Stayed here for one night, check in was really quick. Room was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was still open when I arrived at 9pm. Food is very nice and would recommend the sea bream. The hotel is located a few minutes away from the train station which was useful. Overall a nice hotel and would definitely stay again.
This is a brilliant location for visiting Paris. It's the last station in Zone 5 of the Paris Metro, so only an hour from central Paris, and at good value room rates to match. If you saw the exterior, it would be easy to be put off, but the interior is exquisite. The rooms are very stylish and contemporary, as is the whole hotel. There's an incredible giant arty light fitting in the bar area. Beds are very comfortable, bathroom clean and modern. Free Wi-fi is provided, which went down well with our teenagers. We didn't try the food but it looked a high standard. There is also an outdoor pool, but since we were there to visit Paris on the way back from Brittany, we didn't have a chance to try it out. The male receptionist was very friendly and professional and spoke excellent English. He also turned out to be the barman and made some good recommendations. The reception is manned 24/7. Our only gripe was the minimal drinks provided in the rooms and when we asked for an extra coffee capsule found it later on our bill. Rambouillet itself has a stunning chateau and gardens to the west, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, well worth a stroll round and evening drink or meal. If you are self catering and want something quick and easy, just south of the hotel on the N10 is a big Carrefour with an excellent modern McDonalds alongside. Tip - if you're going by train into Paris, ignore the first sign to the station car park, the second one is much nearer and it cost very little to park all day (we went on an August Sunday). You can also buy an all inclusive day ticket for 16.50 euros that takes you to central Paris and includes all the metro trains - bargain!
The décor is lovely, very clean and bright colours. Rooms are a little small but adequate with a lovely shower room. There was all the usual amenities including a nespresso coffee maker. Lovely comfortable bed and very quiet at night. The hotel is a little out of town with a 20-25 minute walk into Rambouillet.The only down side is unfortunately some of the staff. The afternoon and evening staff are helpful and friendly, but we encountered 2 uncommunicative and unhelpful staff members at breakfast each morning. They have not been to charm school! This was the only down side to what could have been a 5 star stay.
Clean but very small rooms with very poor space for hanging clothes. Comfortable beds and Staff efficient on check in and out. Reason for poor review is totally inadequate restaurant(separate review).main shopping centre is about a mile away with plenty of variety of shops and places to eat
The rooms were reasonable, beds comfortable and clean. However we were booked as a party of 36 to have dinner on the Saturday and chose to eat as a party on the Friday as were advised the local restaurants were a fair walk away. The restaurant could only offer a set menu which was almost inedible, the following night we had a choice of veal risole and tagliatelli, very little sauce and no oils. very disappointing. However this followed a queue for drinks as the staff were not serving whilst the four of them were eating there own meal in the restaurant, no one was available to serve pre dinner drinks. If you did not have the correct cash the drinks bills were printed out on computer. I have never stayed at such as disorganised hotel.
Very good stopover on the way south very nice room clean tidy and nice touches. Firm bed nice sheets very nice espresso machine. Staff very helpful and a good welcome both arriving and leaving. Swimming pool well maintained Restaurant what I had off my menu was good a typical salad and then an excellent burger the dessert never arrived and after asking twice and 25 minutes I gave in and went to bed.shame it let the rest down.
Stopped off for the night on route to the south west. Great little hotel. Clean, English speaking and the restaurant food is exceptional. The rooms have coffee machines, French doors and great shower. There is an outdoor pools and outdoor eating/ drinking area. Good hotel.
Considering the price we paid for the room, it was cramped and the level of service we received at the front desk was poor. The hotel restaurant had been fully booked by a bus group so we asked the chap on the front desk for recommendations who gave extremely vague directions to a nearby Buffalo Grill, I had the impression he just couldn't be bothered. Furthermore, it was a hot day and the room was not equipped with air conditioning or a fan, again, considering the price of the room, I would have expected this. On a positive note, the pool was clean and a welcome addition following a long drive.
Nice hotel, nice location, unfortunately let down by overcharging for pre-booked room rates, very unhelpful / untrained staff and no air conditioning in rooms. A shame because it could be really nice. Breakfast very expensive considering you have to cook it yourself, much preferred the hot counter at the supermarket directly behind the hotel at a quarter of the price,
We were happy to find the Hotel Amarys, the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. We were able to get information regarding the train station, and even the best tickets to purchase. Every member of the staff we came in contact with morning or late night all gave the same amazing service. The room was clean, and sufficient for my husband, myself and our 6 mo old who sleeps in a portable crib. It is also in a great location as far as proximity to town, trains, and shops. While being close to everything it was still a quiet location. I hope everyone else has as great an experience as we did.
