Ostal Pau Universite, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

I stayed here with a school group for two nights, and I would happily return. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the location very quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfast offered a variety. The location was good, with public transport options around the corner as well as a small shopping centre and various eateries.

After a very difficult experience at another hotel in Pau, I was left outside in the sun, exhausted and trying to find a safe place to stay. I am disabled and cannot manage stairs easily, and the previous place had put me on the 5th floor with a broken elevator. Things felt overwhelming until I arrived at Ostal Pau University Sure Hotel. From the moment we arrived, Daniela and Tibra went far above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. They didn't just check me in—they made sure I was comfortable, safe, and cared for. They placed me on the ground floor so I wouldn't have to tackle stairs, helped store perishable food in the refrigerator, and even assisted in other small ways to make my arrival easier. Their warmth, kindness, and generosity made a huge difference during a stressful time. They welcomed my son and me with compassion and care, showing genuine humanity in every interaction. Their extraordinary hospitality turned what could have been a difficult experience into one I will always remember with gratitude. I hope the management and ownership of this property recognize how valuable Daniela and Tibra are to their team. Fab hotel - perfect for a stopover. The receptionist was super helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and parking was free We drove the 10 minutes to the Boulevard des Pyrenees for dinner but there looked to be places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotel.

The greeting from Joanne, on reception, was most appreciated. After a long motorbike ride, she made me feel very welcome. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I like a firm mattress. I only stayed for 1 night but should l be in the area again l will most certainly see if they have any room. Merci!

Simple, clean, air-conditioned and good value for money we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone planning a day or so in Pau. Not all that easy to find I initially but with good nearby transport links into the city. It was ideal for what we wanted and very pleasant and helpful staff.

Excellent location, staff es super helpful made us feel like home. Parking onsite. We had a short stay and there were 5 of us so the price was super affordable. To visit the center of the city you need to drive in a straight line for few minutes and parking is very close to everything.

Stayed for two nights when visiting Pau to watch Leicester Tigers. Drove down from Limoges Airport (4 hours) and realised that we would not arrive until c. 10pm whereas Reception closes at 9pm. We rang ahead and the lady agreed that she would stay until 10pm to give us our keys - how good was that?? We arrived at 9.55pm and were able to collect the keys and the combination for the front door. Small, comfortable, clean rooms and an inexpensive continental breakfast. A restaurant next door and a number of places in the vicinity particularly Au Bureau which we found to be very good.
