This hotel uses some sort of carpet powder that is way too strong and revolting. I could barely stand it. Breakfast was fair. Pool looked nice but no one was using it. Bathroom was too small and door practically hits toilet when opened. Appreciated toilet amenities. Located on a busy street but I didn't notice traffic noise.
The staff was very friendly and the motel was clean and room was comfortable . Breakfast was good . 200 characters I must be writing a book . ZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Fantastic service at every encounter. David was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to eat. The beds were wonderful and the room was very clean. Great suggestions by the way. We will definitely return should we be in the area.
Clean large room. A bit expensive but breakfast was very good Hot and satisfying and was given to you by an attendant so people were not able to overflow their plates. That's a $30 savings if u had to go out 4 breakfast.. convient to fun places near by and gas/grocery stores
I stayed here for 1 night and everything was fine. Check in was quick and easy as was check out. My room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and that was important! I was a little hesitant to be in a room so close to the pool (which I did not use), but once quiet hours arrived, all was good and quiet. You park at the back of the property at the opposite end of checkin. That was a bit odd, but not surprising for an older property. There are 2 disabled parking spaces and 1 EV parking space. Breakfast would have been fine if I had not been limited to the amount of food that the young man served. I sort of understand having someone put your food request on a plate for you, but when you ask for scrambled eggs and you are given the equivalent of less than 1 egg, that's unacceptable. He had a brand new, full container of scrambled eggs. I was the only person in the breakfast room and I was given less than 1 egg and a hash brown patty for breakfast. Admittedly in my post stay follow up with Best Western, I received a reply from the manager that the employee was thawing more eggs following an earlier unexpected rush. Like I said, the container was brand new and full, so I don't think he was waiting for eggs to thaw. Regardless, a quick trip through the drive-thru at McDonald's took care of the breakfast issue. Despite the breakfast issue, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
After a poor experience at this hotel my wife and I spoke with a representative at the front desk. We were told no compensation was authorized by the GM despite us having spent over $2000 at this location in the last year. We were given the GM's business card but warned he would never get back to us. This sadly turned out to be true, only way to speak with the guy is by posting negative reviews. Even there though Bala is unnecessarily confrontational and denies issues happening. See attachment. With so many hotel options in the area we will personally avoid this one moving forward. -ZF
The bed was comfortable, the room had everything we needed, the breakfast was very good. Everything was excellent except for one thing. The carpet smelled strongly like rug cleaner and dirt. We opened the window immediately upon entering the room and kept it open all night, which helped but not entirely. It smelled like a gym with a note of pizza.
The hotel is clean, the staff is great, but this hotel is way overpriced just because it is in “Wine country” and near George Fox University. The hotel is right on the main drag in Newberg - no special scenery. It really should be about $70 less a night.
Love the pool, hot tub and sauna. Great time for adults and for the children. Best Western staff are all always kind and resourceful.
I had not expected to find a reasonable priced hotel that was well-situated and with great staff. But I did, here. This is great place to base a few day trip into wine country. Good breakfast, located a short drive from downtown Newberg, clean rooms and great amenities. Was well-rested after a good night's sleep.
The rooms were dusty and dirty, overall dingy look. Pool had chunks of hair everywhere floating. There was a very rude female staff member who was uninvited and disrespectful to myself and my daughters. Beds were not queen like advertised.
Best Western Newberg is a great place to stay. You can't find a better value, amenities, excellent service and a clean/comfortable location away from home. Kayla and her team are awesome. This was our third stay in 2 years and we plan on coming back again soon. I highly recommend this hotel for all forms of travel.
We always enjoy are stay here. It's affordable, clean, accommodating, large room and beautiful grounds. Location is perfect. Team works together to make sure we are satisfied. Love the breakfast and their gym after. We have been returning for four years. Love it!
The Best Western in Newberg OR is the place to stay when you're visiting or need a stay-cation! It has a full breakfast with a host/attendant to serve your hot items. You can serve the rest. Beautiful clean dining area with many different tables to sit at. Family friendly. ALL the hotel rooms are non-smoking! Welcome to your paradise.
As an older adult, I like that the motel is making some accommodations in its regular rooms, such as safety bars in the tub/shower. They might make them easier to grab while sitting in the tub. Also, BW and other motels should provide thinner (less plump) and more flexible pillows as an option.
Have a great flight, and my stay at Best Western in Newberg, Oregon was is really good, fantastic area, very green and clean. the surrounding area just beautiful so many things to see a ton of wineries with a lot of local great history.
We have stayed here each year for family weekend at George Fox for three years. Only two stop lights away from George Fox. The staff is pleasant, especially the owner/operator of the business. Great rates. Great continental breakfast with options for everyone (I can't believe they stock egg, cheese, sausage croissants!). Quiet place and it sits back 90 yards from the road.
Unbelievable breakfast experience!! Fox news with Gym Jordan spewing conspiracy crap was on and the guy "in charge" of the breakfast took a poll of the room when I asked him to turn it off. HE LITERALLY TOOK A POLL OF THE ROOM TO SEE IF HE SHOULD TURN IT OFF.... He lost the poll.
The room was clean and met our expectations. The gym was a nice option as well. The free breakfast was spot on with good choices, lots of variety and tasty food, even good gluten free options. We were greeted by Angela upon our arrival and she helped us with information about the area. She was a friendly face that greeted us at breakfast on many of our mornings, checking in to make sure we had the info we needed for our daily excursions. She was one of the highlights of our time at this BW. Elida was also always hard at work on our floor, making sure rooms had fresh towels and anything else needed. Hotel management has a lot to be proud of with their staff . Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're in the area.
Room was very nice, clean and well furnished. I wish the pool had been open until 10 cause we got there just before it closed at 9, but our room had a jetted tub which made up for it a little. The breakfast was yummy with lots of options.
Perfect location to stay, close to tons of wineries, downtown Newberg and only minutes from Dundee. Rooms were spacious, large counter in bathroom made getting ready a breeze. Breakfast is more oriented to the kids (waffles, muffins etc). Would definitely stay here again, easy access to everything.
We live in Washington and stayed at the Best Western in Newberg for a family event. We've stayed at other Best Westerns and were very satisfied. No so much at this one. We were in a non smoking room that smelled of cigarette smoke. I realize it's hard to get the cigarette smoke out of a room, just the same it an be done. We'd looked forward to using the pool and hot tub until we saw it, it didn't look at all clean. In the room again, the air conditioner was necessary due to it being quite warm, though the air conditioner made a squeaking noise which was quite annoying. We have stayed at other Best Westerns and had great experiences, so we were quite disappointed. We've previously stayed at the Holiday Inn Express during other trips to Newberg and I'm sure that's where we'll be staying next time.
The room was clean and the staff were helpfully and polite. It made my stay fantastic. Absolutely suggest for anyone passing through for a night or even staying for events and wine tasting. Thx best western.
We had to leave last minute on business with our fur babies and daughters. I must say that we didn't expect too much out of a hotel that we could have our dogs at, but holy cow. We were pleasantly surprised! Gym, Sauna, Breakfast, Pool, exceptional customer service. We had an amazing stay. Thanks Best Western, I guess your on our radar now.
Staff were very attentive, professional and friendly. Rooms were clean. Nice pool abd spa area. Breakfast and serving times were good. Nice convenient location with nearby restaraunts and shopping. Great stay!
Walked in and was able to book the room for the night. Price was VERY reasonable for the quality of the hotel. The room was super clean compared to other hotels I've stayed. Newberg is a great town to visit. It's got that small town feel but it's not so small.
I had a long day and walked in the lobby around 8:00 p.m. The front desk staff greeted me with a warm welcome and inviting smile. She was ready for me and knew my name. I was the last person checking in, but she made me feel so welcome. She suggested I enter a door near my room to make it easier to carry in my stuff. The door worked great and was well lit outside. I was travelling alone, so it made it easier and safer for me to get to my room. The parking lot was well lit and close to the entrance. The room was clean and welcoming. Heater worked great - it was a cold night! And the bathroom was clean and the water was hot when I took my shower! The breakfast was well prepared and the gal serving my food was friendly and helpful. I had a great visit.
We had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Best Western Newberg Inn. The rooms are very clean. The staff very friendly and accommodated our needs. Breakfast offered a variety of good foods. The hot food was prepared and served
This hotel was top notch, with clean rooms and very nice jucuzzi bathtub. The room was very spacious, too, great for a family, with a divider between beds for more privacy. The price was very reasonable with breakfast, fitness room and indoor heated pool. Highly recommended when in Newberg.
The Great: We left an expensive electronic in the hotel and they called us right away to let us know they found it. I was still close by and when I returned, the red haired front desk manager (I feel terrible I didn't get her name) said, "I was taking a trip to your area of the state this week and was going to offer to bring it to you if you were already too far on the road." I was floored! That goes above and beyond!! Kudos to the honest and trustworthy staff for turning it in as well. The Good: The breakfast is well stocked for a budget hotel! Offerings included all these each day: scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, hashbrown patties, oatmeal/cereals, 3 types of yogurt, fresh oranges/apples/bananas, pastries, a variety of bread, coffee, juices, and assorted teas. Plus lots of toppings and sauces. The staff was incredibly nice! The gym had two treadmills and an elliptical which were in great shape. Plus a tv in the room so you can watch while you work out. Great linens and comfy beds. There is a hair dryer, fridge and microwave, and Keurig in the room. Plus there is free coffee in the lobby and a filtered water machine so bring your reusable bottles. It also dispenses boiled water for tea. The No So Good: So much one-time-use plastic in the rooms and breakfast area. I wish there were compostable or reusable silverware and cups. Keurigs are so wasteful too. A small pot or just a note saying, "Go get coffee in the lobby" would be better than single service cups. The rooms could use a few extra blankets. The duvet was thin for cold and rainy October. The pool and hot tub area needs a good round of bleach on the floors and grates. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The rooms were perfect for a few days stay and the staff puts this above any other option in Newberg.
Very nice room, comfortable beds. My kids enjoyed the pool and the different options for breakfast! Staff was friendly and had good recomandations to eat in town. We will definitely be staying here again!
Older hotel, but well kept. Book the ground floor if it matters to you that they don't have an elevator. Surprisingly quiet. Decent breakfast. Not bad for a stopover if you are touring around wine country.
Nice room, clean and spacious. Front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Bed was a little hard for my liking. Just be aware the jetted tub is very, very small. No parking for oversized vehicles. Would stay again.
Overall I had a great stay. The room was clean and staff was friendly. The breakfast was delicious. They provided a variety of options to choose from like biscuits and gravy, freshly made pancakes, scrambled eggs as well as bacon. I would definitely come back!
If all you want is a bed, this place will do. If you expect to charge electronics and have more than one person, bring a power strip. Also be aware that there is no elevator. If you gat a second floor room, you will be lugging your bags up the stairs. Do not count on the included “breakfast”. It is a bunch of cold microwaved precooked garbage that we were unable to eat. Overall, I would rate this place somewhere below Motel 6 but above the Bates Motel. We won't stay here again.
This hotel meets customers expectation because people want a quiet, clean room with breakfast at a reasonable cost, and this hotel meets those expectations. The breakfast buffet is managed by someone who gives you the food that you've asked for. Check in and check out is easy.
This hotel was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Black mold throughout the property. It literally made me sick to stay here. I had no other options of a place to stay or I would have left. The breakfast offerings dwindle over the course of the week as things go out of stock. The staff wants to avoid problems not solve problems.
We stayed here for a last minute family trip due to a family member being in the ICU. The entire team was so accommodating and kind. Front desk was incredibly welcoming and generous, housekeeping was so sweet and helpful, David in the kitchen/breakfast was full of conversation and encouraging! We will absolutely stay here again.
Super quiet rooms, good water pressure, great parking, clean with friendly staff and plenty of work space. Easy to find and lot of find choices right in the area. I had my dog with me and there was a great dog area too!
I would love it thanks so much to all It was great Great service good breakfast it was awesome i'm going to come back in a couple weeks with all my family to enjoy this beautiful hotel anybody will love it
Front desk staff were wonderful from check in to check out. Housekeeping was very good and kept the facility and the room very clean. The one maintenance issue we had ( a light going out in the bathroom) was taken care of within 30 minutes. Right on the highway but noise level was very good, could hardly hear traffic unless a siren was close, traffic made going in and out a little difficult but doable. Room to room noise was very minimal and that's hard to find anymore. Overall a very pleasant stay and when in the area we will stay here again.
The front desk and staff were professional, courteous and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located near a variety of restaurants and a lovely Fred Meyer. We had our furry family member with us and there was a great spot on the property to walk him.
I was extremely pleased with my experience. I came in for a wedding and planned on getting ready in a friend's room who had checked in the day before. I arrived before my check-in time and to my surprise my room was ready! I was also able to get keys for the two other rooms I booked that morning. I was happy to get those keys as well, as I had family members in those rooms and I wasn't sure how it would go for them to get keys if I wasn't present when they wanted to check-in. The lady who checked me in was amazing; friendly, accommodating, and concerned for my comfort and timing getting to the wedding. This alone was phenomenal in easing my stress level to assist my family. Thank you so much!
The rooms were quiet! We usually hear doors closing and people walking around, we heard nothing. The hotel was located less than a mile from downtown Newberg so we walked to dinner. The breakfast was the best continental breakfast we've had. Wish we would of had time to play in the pool…next time!
Visiting grandchildren not wanting to evict anyone out if their bed and stumbled upon this best western. Excellent breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Right on 99 so everyplace is within easy reach. It was a delightful stay.
AMAZING staff. We were having some work done on our house and it ran over by 3 days longer than expected which extended our stay to 6 days. Kayla and her staff were some of the most helpful people, they truly took care of us and our pets.
My stay was very pleasant the staff was nice. Kayla at front desk super helpful and pleasant. Very clean and comfy. Easy access from parking lot and I felt very safe. I would recommend to my friend and family to stay here
The staff here are display exemplary customer service. They look forward to helping the customers have a better stay. I travel with my dog so am normally in the 'pet' room, which you'd never know was a pet room. They clean it very well. Because customer service is so shoddy / lacking everywhere right now, staying here reminds me that there are still nice people who value their customers!
Though staying in a king bed I found th amount of useful space limited by the two huge slumps on either side of the mattress worn by hundreds of visitors. Could also use sound proofing on the windows.
The Best Western in Newberg is a very nice place to stay, very clean and in a good location. The customer service from Kayla at the front desk is impeccable. We have stayed at this location twice when visiting Newberg. We will continue to stay due to the customer service that Kayla provides. She goes above and beyond and will do anything and everything to help the customer. Customer serice is hard to find these days. I value her customer service and her willingness to make the stay at the hotel a pleasurable one. Thank you Kayla!
Great staff & very clean rooms. Breakfast had several different options for guests. They clean rooms daily for all guests. Even stayovers. Some hotels do not clean stay over guest rooms. We had a great stay in Newberg OR.
We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the facility overall, the staff were always cheerful and helpful and the hot breakfast was great! This was a college visit trip, and the good night's sleep made the visit even better!
The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Sandy checked us in and oversaw the breakfast offered there. She was wonderful! We were there during the week and the hotel was quiet. The hotel was not built yesterday, but they take good care of it. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a wide assortment of offerings including sausage, frittatas, bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt, dry cereal, instant oatmeal, and more. Partner liked the coffee. Me, I wish they had offered more than one type of black tea; English breakfast would be nice! Overall the value is excellent, and we will definitely stay there again!
The rooms were clean and comfortable, The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. We will definitely stay there again during our next trip to Newberg, OR. My only concern is that there is no option other than stairs to get to the second floor.
The front desk staff was amazing! The whole experience we've only had at 5 star hotels! All the staff were attentive. Very good! Rooms were very clean. Nice clean pool and hot tub!Breakfast was very good! Thank you! We will be back! We highly recommend this hotel! Chuck and Jay Golombek
We booked our two rooms directly with the hotel front desk on July 10th. We reserved August 20th. The clerk had such poor language skills he couldn't get our email written down correctly to send us a confirmation email despite two calls from us. Later we discovered that the reservation was also erroneously dated July 20th by the hotel. The hotel charged us as no-shows. The manager, Mr Balat, would not make us whole for their mistakes. He claimed we booked our rooms through the BW National reservation service-Not True. I advised his staff and him that I would write truthful reviews of their ineptitude, dishonesty and malfeasance. I used strong language, but nothing profane or foul language. He is furious about this. Only after getting BW National Customer Care to intervene did he honor our reservations, but only at the last minute non-discounted rate adding $180 to our bill. If you read his responses to other customers who critique this property you can see that he is not a good representative of the BW brand. Now after our stay he sent me an email that states he will post our whole taped conversation with my name attached to it. He basically is trying to blackmail me through social media to silence me. Sorry, that won't work! Go ahead Mr. Balat, take your best shot and post it! The motel itself is clean, the staff are friendly and courteous, the breakfast of fake eggs typical, but you are going to be gouged with their prices. Also, our credit card was compromised and hacked right after our stay here, so use caution. I just wish the owners of this property would call me so that I can advise them about their “general manager”.
We stayed at the Best Wetern Newberg on a friends wine exploring trip for three days in August. Our rooms (king deluxe) had a nice sitting area and were a terrific value. Keurig machines for coffee in the room. The staff here is just excellent -- friendly, knowledgable about the area and generally helpful. The free breakfast was very good -- fresh eggs, pancakes, fritatas, fruit, cereal -- all you could want. And the place was very quiet -- from road noise and other guests. We would dfeinitely stay again.
The staff at the hotel were so helpful around the clock, making my weekend getaway relaxing, quiet, and easy. They went above and beyond to accommodate me, despite having a large amount of guests staying at the hotel for the weekend. The location is in great walking distance of food, entertainment, and stores. I don't live very far away from the area so it was the perfect last minute getaway that I needed, without having to drive super far. I definitely will be returning. Thank you Best Western Newberg staff!!!
Wonderful, wonderful experience while staying and touring the beautuful Willamette Valley, Oregon, with its magnificent scenery and wineries! Beth and Kayla at the front desk along with Sandy were so, so kind and wonderful helping with our stay and traveling experience! Sandy, our server also at breakfast in the mornings was never without a smile and wonderful service! Thank you everyone at Best Western, Newberg for an outstanding few days!
We always stay at Best Western in Newberg, OR. They are so good about answering all the questions we have. This trip the ladies worked to serve us a normal breakfast each morning. We try to always stay at Best Western Hotels when traveling.
A bit of a distance off of I-5 but well worth it. And you can get back to I-5 easily from the hotel without going back through town. Clean and comfortable. Plenty of supplies. Although we didn't get an opportunity to use the pool (require reservations for a time) it looked clean. The windows open and I didn't get that strong smell of chlorine that's so indicative of an indoor pool. Very friendly staff who smile and don't seem put out by questions. No homeless camps like the cities on I-5! There is no elevator so traveling with children and luggage was a little difficult because the stairs are tall. Overall, I'd stay again.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff is fantastic, the rooms are clean, parking is easy, and covid style breakfast is good. Close to Starbucks, Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Dutch Bros. The beds are very comfortable.
We've stayed here before because we have family in the area and have always been happy with our stay. This time we met Sandy at the front desk and she was great. A great attitude, very personable, and real helpful. The property is aging a bit (a little peeled paint here, a yellowed outlet cover there) but still in decent shape. I'm sure that we'll stay here again.
Stayed at this hotel while visiting family in the area. Great location and was able to walk or quickly drive to the nearby stores. Rooms were clean and everyone was great. Would stay at this hotel in the future when I travel here.
A most convienent location to visit Portland and the surrounding area and still enjoy the small town atmosphere. If you want a quiet and warm place to rest, you should put this hotel on you iternary as you travel.
Even though I only stayed 2 days and was not there very much, I enjoyed my stay. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was modified for Covid, but still was all I needed.
Quite affordable and great service. Internet is amazing, and serval amenities to use. However some amenities are not open due to COVID, and the locations is not one with a pleasant view. Staff is wonderful, speedy, and most importantly available.
We like to stay here when we are in Newberg it's the only place that we know of that allows animals in some of their rooms. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly, breakfast is nice as well. With Covid restrictions it was a little different but they made it work are serve everyone efficiently.
Everything was immaculate, Kayla and Ben at the Front Desk were great. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job keeping the rooms and hallways clean. They still had Breakfast items available at the Front Desk for pickup.
We had a pleasant 2nd visit back to Newberg and our last visit in August was just as nice. Our visit may have not materialized if I had not got in contact with the friendly people I will mention below that made our trip possible. Our issues began when my instincts were telling me to give the Travelodge hotel (where I had originally booked our accomodations) a call and so I did. This was a day before Thanksgiving; a day before we were about to head-out on 10.5 hour road trip going north on the I-5. During my original reservation process, I suppose I had forgotten to select while booking that we were going to bring our little doggie Mr. Tuckers with us. I confirmed with the receptionist to see if Mr. Tuckers was on the list and he was not. The situation suddenly turned frantic when the receptionist mentioned that no more dog-friendly rooms were available and they were all spoken for. The receptionist then told me that she would get in contact the motel manager to see what could be done. Time was of the essence as they would say and I was worried that we wouldn't have a place to stay so I quickly went on the web to see if I could find any last-minute hotels around the area. I contacted Best Western and spoke on the phone with Beth and she was very friendly, undertanding and helpful. They had one pet-friendly room left and Beth advised not to book the room in case we were allowed to let Mr. Tuckers stay with us back at the Travelodge room. Had I booked the Best Western room, then canceled, I would have incurred a cancellation fee since the 24hr window for cancellations had already surpassed. This all took place before 5pm in the evening. The cutoff time was 4pm. When I mentioned to Beth that we had issues with our Travelodge reservations, she mentioned that the manager Mr. Bala Bhat happened to manage both hotels. About 1hr later, I get a call from Mr. Bala Bhat and he quickly assured me not to worry and that the accomodations for our family were already being taken care of. Our new plan was to relocate to the pet-friendy room at the Best Western just down the street. The pricing would remain the same as our Travelodge accomodations. Man what a sigh of relief! Mr. Bhat and I had a warm, pleasant, happy and welcoming conversation over the phone. He told me not to worry and that everything would be taken care of. His words over the phone took such a burden off my shoulders. When we arrived at the hotel in the late evening the next day, I checked in and was greeted by Ben at the front desk. Ben was kind and welcoming. He mentioned all the details about the hotel, what time was breakfast being served, where to locate the fitness room and mentioned the pool wasn't going to be opened for another 3 weeks due to COVID. After receiving 2 keycards, I went to park our van behind the hotel. There is plenty of parking and also a grass area where Mr. Tuckers can do his business. Our room was upstairs and the staircase leading up to there was super-wide and easy to climb to our room. It is very close to the side-rear entrance. When we entered the room, we discovered a bottle of Brut Champagne and a personal note hand-written from Mr. Bhat himself wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving. This truly made our family's day. Mr. Bhat didnt' really need to do this kind gesture for us, but he went out of his way to do so. The room was clean, very quiet, relaxing and we all slept well. I didn't have the opportunity to thank Mr. Bhat in person for his kindness but I did meet his wife during our initial visit at the Travelodge back in August. She was equally as kind when I checked-in at the front desk after mentioning we just completed a 10.5 hour road trip. She offered me a bottled-water. The say that First impressions are everlasting and Mr & Mrs. Bhat showed this to me and my family. We will be staying at this location again for sure including the Travelodge knowing that Mr. and Mrs. Bhat will take care of our needs everytime we come back and visit.
Staff are welcoming and I felt that they really care about guest's health as well as their employees' health. My room was clean, comfortable and best of all the hotel had a peaceful atmosphere. Everything I've come to expect from Best Western. Will stay here again.
The Best Western Newberg Inn is located at 2211 Portland Rd., Newberg, OR 97132, telephone 503-537-3000. The hotel is 2-story property with 51 rooms but no elevator. It has nice amenities including swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, small workout facility and a small office work station. Also an electric car charging station. And it is pet friendly. It has no restaurant but is conveniently within a short distance to restaurants, supermarkets, stores, etc. Our room was typical-size for a small hotel , not luxurious but comfortable with a comfy king-size bed, a small refrigerator & a microwave oven and free wi-fi. The bathroom was typical with a tub/shower and, although not particularly large, didn't feel small. Actually the room felt cozy, clean & well maintained. They provide a free hot breakfast weekends with typical, but limited fixings due to COVID-19, as well as with pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. Other days the Continental breakfast is via brownbag at the front desk. Parking was free and excellent. Lastly, we found that this is not a bargain/discount-type property but felt that, perhaps, a bit higher standard of accommodation was provided. And must mention, staff was super friendly and attentive making our stay enjoyable, particularly Kayla Kerr, the Front Desk Manager who made a point in greeting us with a warm smile.
Yes this may be trying times, but with that said - you can still find friendly and kind service with a comfortable place to stay. And the Breakfast is coming back as things improve. You are just a short drive to Portland where you can do your business and return out of the big city to a more quieter place.
We stayed here 6 nights during the pandemic while on vacation to wine country. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The front desk personnel were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast, though okay, was in a bag with very limited choices. The pool and hot tub were nice but the exercise room needs new equipment and some free weights. Overall, a nice budget hotel with few frills. We would stay here again.
We evacuated to BW during fires on Chehalem Mountain, during this past week. From the first call to make quick room reservations for my Family till we left, the staff (particularly Kayla and Beth) were caring, kind, and helpful. They helped make an otherwise very stressful time, manageable.
I was very impressed with the staff at this hotel. I called to see if we could perhaps switch to a pet friendly room and was told that none were available. But Kayla said she would call other online reservations to see if they needed that type of room or not. She was able to secure us our room. She could of just told us that no pet friendly rooms were available but she went above and beyond to help us out. For the price hotel was comfortable and also offered a bag breakfast.
We had a great four day two night stay on August 2nd through 4th for my wife's birthday getaway to wine country on August 2nd. This stay was originally booked as a jacuzzi king stay through the reservations center as I am a rewards club member and the rates were comparable to trip advisor ones. There was a $10 up charge for the jacuzzi king and you could cancel or modify up until 24 hours before occupancy. I checked Trip Advisor the day before we were scheduled to arrive and found that rates had fallen so I called the hotel directly to make sure that our rates would be adjusted and find our what they would be. I found out we were not in the one spa room that they had but it was available at a $10 up charge per night and that our cost would be less than originally quoted even including the up charge and including the ten per cent taxes on room occupancy, a noteworthy savings. I emphasized that this was a birthday trip for my wife and that her birthday was the 2nd. Upon arrival, I found that our room was on the second floor, as requested, as my wife is a very light sleeper. There is no elevator for the second floor which created no hardship for us but might for some others, a fact that was noted to us on checkin. Hospitality was great with Tiffany and all of the girls and one guy at the front desk accommodating and eager to please! Housekeeping was outstanding as well! Our room was spotless and spacious, including a large living room area wit a couch, a substantial flat screen tv and a table and two chairs. Next to that was a large king bed a large spa or tub and a separate bathroom that was spacious and included a nice bathtub/shower, sink and toilet and numerous complimentary toiletries. There was ample closet space, a mini refrigerator, a microwave and drawers for clothes storage and racks for suitcases. The bed was comfortable and firm and there were plenty of pillows and towels and housekeeping was quick and happy to provide additional towels as needed. The lobby area has a computer and printer and you can print a reasonable amount of copies without charge and the front desk staff will assist you if you need help, as I did, and is quick and accommodating in that regard. You receive a pass word for free internet and complimentary newspapers are available upon checkin. Masks are required in the lobby due to coronavirus and the breakfast policy has changed as a result of it as well. It is still complimentary and substantial but the hot options of eggs and sausage and hot cereals are missing. You get cold orange juice, apple juice, and cranberry juice and milk or chocolate milk and hot tea or coffee or chocolate. There is a kuerig coffee maker in the room also with coffee pods and tea bags and ample additional tea bags and chocolate in the lobby. Breakfast includes cold cereals, two types of yogurt, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, bagels with cream cheese and a weird breakfast omlet type of creation with a pancake folded over and encasing cheese and meat which is surprisingly tasty and actually works. Upon checkin we found a nice bottle of California Grenache red wine in our room as a birthday welcome and gift and it was very good and much appreciated! We very much enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Newberg, finding the rooms outstanding and the staff exemplary and very gracious and accommodating and highly recommend it to you and plan to stay there again when we return for wine country! The spa room is a bargain and well worth it for a special occasion and we recommend it also!
Quiet, clean and on a main road which was easy to find. Not too crowded plus swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna was very relaxing since we were the only ones there! Appreciated that key was not inserted, had sensor so it was one less thing to worry about.
Excellent service, clean and spacious room, great value for the money. Breakfast can be taken out as well as eat in the breakfast area. Wonderful indoor pool and spa, and work out room with the latest equipment. Highly recommend!
This place will rip you off, I used to stay here all the time and they just lost my families business. It's their discrepancy to charge you anything they want and not refund and you customer service is horrible.
Newly updated hotel, great service, GREAT breakfast all for around $100. Can't beat it, we will stay here again. Only complaint was the tv remote wasn't working - which was quickly swapped by the staff. The remote doesn't make it 4/5 FYI, just feels like a 4/5 stay. In fact that's what's on the wall up front when you check in, lol.
This seems to be a somewhat older property, but it is very well maintained, and very comfortable. The staff, especially Kayla and Beth, and fantastic, friendly, and helpful. The bed is very comfortable, and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. I can recommend this location for stays when going through the area. Lots of wineries are close to visit, and the Evergreen Air and Space Museum is incredible!
From the moment we arrived this staff did everything they could do to be a great help and blessing to us. We loved our stay and highly recommend this hotel. The greeted us with open ams and then went out of their way to make sure we were welltaken care of and happy.
Beginning at check in the front desk persons Kayla and Ben were most helpful. I had car trouble and they were very helpful in getting me assistance, it was most appreciated. The Breakfast is pleasant and well attended with staff Ashley and Grasie making sure the food is hot and good. Small things really make a difference in your day and the staff are truly a delight. So A Big Thank You to each one of You. You will see us again.
From check in to check out everything is A+ at this hotel. The breakfast has a superb selection of all types of food. Shout out to Kayla for always going above and beyond in providing the best possible service
The check in was quick and friendly. My room was very clean but didn't smell overly of chemicals as can sometimes be the case. Both of these are very important to me. Dirty stuff makes me uncomfortable and overpowering smells give me a headache. The place was really very quiet. That's so important too. The breakfast spread was really impressive with waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, bagels, cereals, yogurts, boiled eggs, juices, fresh fruit. I appreciated the keurig in my room with a good selection of Kirkland coffees. All the staff was very friendly from the front desk and breakfast attendant to the cleaning ladies everyone was top notch. Would def stay here again.
Stayed here when I was in between moving. Everyone is extremely kind from the front desk to the attendant in the breakfast area. Hotel is super clean too. Upon checking out and speaking with Kayla, I had to stay an extra night to get a few things done around the area. Her gesture of making sure I was comfortable and relaxed for my last night was top notch hospitality. Truly enjoy this hotel
This is not a "5 Star" hotel. It is, however, a great value motel and was perfect for what we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just right. We saw many families using the pool even though we did not. Staff was friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for? It is an older property but the lobby has been remodeled and the price was great.
We love coming to this best western they are hands down the best we have ever visited. From the amazing staff to the super comfortable rooms. The amenities are great from the always warm and clean pool and hot tub, to the great hot breakfast daily. The staff is always ready with a smile. Recommend this location to all and will keep coming back for many years to come.
The new renovation shows. First time visit here as we were visiting friends who live in Newberg. We had a king bed with separate sofa bed which was divided by a half wall. Also a somewhat small padded bench in the closet area along with a desk chair. We were able to host our friends in our room for wine. Everything worked and very clean room. Make up remover wipes (never had these before), shower cap, all the usual toiletries, iron, board, hair dryer, Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator. Seven drawers for storage plus desk drawer. Only nit picky comments are: towels are thin and hangers are type that are attached permanently to rod. But staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is more than continental as it includes waffles made to order, scrambled eggs, made up omelet, hash browns. We were really pleased with this stay. Great value. Our friends were so pleased that relatives of theirs have a reservation.
We were in Newberg visiting froends When we found our 2 rooms, we were pleasantly surprised that they were adjoining rooms. When I made the reservation, I had asked for our two rooms to be next to each other, not specifically adjoining. At checkout, I found out that staff had worked hard to give us these rooms. They didn't know how much it would help our family. I have an adult son with autism and the 2 rooms together made it much easier and more comfortable for him to be away from his home. The breakfast was also very good with a lot of options to choose from. My son loved the hot tub. The beds were very comfortable, not too hard or too soft, with exceptional linens. Everything was very clean. We stayed 2 nights and on our second day, I felt like we were on a cruise ship or at a resort because of how the room was made up. Housekeeping even posed my daughter's stuffed animal on her bed in a super cute way. So much attention to detail. We loved this hotel and hope to stay again.
On a 3 day road trip in Oregon and spent the first night here. The couple I was traveling with needed a Tesla charging station and this place has one. The room was quiet and there are numerous places to eat within a half mile. The breakfast was better than most Best Western's I've stayed at. Good deal for the price!
We stayed there with our infant daughter and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating with extra linens and a bit of a mess. The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay there again.
The Best Western Newberg Inn was centrally located, a great value and clean and comfortable. We loved the hot tub and the extraordinary spread at the free breakfast; hot foods included bacon, omelettes, hash brows and eggs. There was also tons of fruit and pastries and yogurt as well as a great selection of salsa and hot sauces. Even a frozen breakfast burrito, oats and hard-boiled eggs! The rooms were clean and simple and quiet. Great stay and highly recommended!
I have stayed in many, many BWs. This motel stood out from the rest. The normal BW breakfast is sparse and minimalist. This motel clearly looked for ways to delight. Hand cut fruit, extra ingredients for breakfast items, table cloth on the table, delightful and cheerful breakfast area staff... all showed that managemnt here paid attention to details.
I was greeted by a pleasant speaking well groomed young man. Who was very informative and who also gave me info on rewards and discounts without asking, I was very pleased with my overall stay and the employees.
What a clean and comfortable hotel. We had a great stay. The breakfast was delicious. Customer service was excellent. Ben was super helpful with our reservation and our check in. Great value and would return.
Great clean hotel with spacious rooms, comfy beds, Kuerig coffee maker and fridge in room. Water offered for free at front desk. Nice breakfast too! I'd return to this hotel for the value. There are other resort style hotels in the area but this is exactly what we needed. Quiet, clean, located near our events.
Picked this place because it was close to the wineries and an easy access location. The first night was rough, loud neighbors and loud side door usage. I informed the on duty the next morning and she immediately jumped into action to rectify the issue, placing before us several options of what could be done to have a better stay. Our issues were rectified and night two was a dream. The breakfast center was very well tended to and the hotel was clean and all the staff was very attentive and helpful. Good value for the stay and Kayla made all the difference with her customer service. Only down side was some of the workout equipment was not working properly. Overall it was clean and comfy.
Great wineries and restaurants close by hotel. The hotel was very clean and great location. We ended up going to eat at the restaurant the front desk lady recommended called Subterra. It was excellent.
My wife and I came to the Newberg area for a few days of wine tasting. Upon checking in at the hotel, we were greeted by the most friendly Kayla. She was one of the most cheerful people that we could have hoped for. She was very professional and experienced. She gave us winery recommendations along with an excellent dinner location that we tried...Subterranean - A Wine Cellar Restaurant. The meal was very good. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The location is easy access to wherever you want to go. Thanks Kayla! You are a great ambassador for Best Western and Newberg.
Love staying here. We have spent the past 3 years staying here for my godson's football games and I love how clean, relaxing, welcoming and comfortable this place is to visit. The breakfast is not only amazingly good, but everything is meticulously clean and well maintained.
My husband and I spent three nights here while we enjoyed some wine tasting in the Willamette. We found Newberg to be a fairly central location with a lot of the wineries we chose to visit being within a half hour drive or less. There were restaurants close by as well. The room we had was a good size with a comfortable bed. It had a microwave, a Keurig coffee machine and small fridge. The one thing I didn't like was that the room smelled quite strongly of bleach when we first walked in. We found the breakfast at the hotel to be one of the better free breakfasts in our experience. The eggs actually tasted like eggs, this is not always the case! There was also a bowl of fresh cantaloupe cut into pieces every morning which I've never seen before, along with apples, bananas and oranges. It also had a waffle machine, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cereal, muffins, bread bagels and English muffins. Lots to choose from.
We stayed at Newberg Best Western for the evening before our hot air balloon ride in order to not have to rise at 3AM. It is one of the nicest we have stayed at: very clean, wonderful staff and convenient.
I was shocked to see a bad review of this hotel. My husband and I stayed here 3 nights, and our friends stayed in the room next door. We were very pleased with everything about this hotel and would most definitely stay here again. Our room was spacious, clean and very quiet. Comfortable bed and bedding. I especially liked the partial wall/divider between our king bed and the pull-out sleeper sofa—gives more privacy for the bed. There is an indoor pool, exercise room and surprisingly, a sauna. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was very good, much better than expected. The location was perfect for our wine-tasting forays and an easy 7-minute walk from a terrific restaurant. The price was very reasonable —a good value. When traveling we often stay at Hampton Inns or Holiday Inn-Express. However, this hotel has opened my eyes to Best Western. We paid less and got more!
I recently stayed at the Best Western in Newberg, Oregon for nearly 9 months during a transitioning period and had the best experience. I was under some financial restraints and was only able to book a room for a week at a time. Kayla, at the front desk, handled all of the bookings and was able to keep me in pet friendly rooms for my entire stay. She was always very polite and respectful and treated me like family. She even made sure my family was well taken care of when they came up for a visit and at one point my son was calling her Aunt Kayla. I highly recommend the Best Western in Newberg, Oregon and am grateful for my stay there. Thank you again to Kayla and the entire staff at Best Western.
I always review hotels before making a decision. Sorry to say that this was by far one of the worst Best Westerns I have stayed at Upon arriving the front exterior looks great, the lobby is updated all good so far Until we walk into the area where the rooms are.... The room is below average, a musty smell, the bathroom wreaks I feel sick from the waft of the bathroom The room is old, depressing The buffet was decent, a decent selection of breakfast food Thats the inly good thing I can say about the hotel Felt more like a run down motel
We stayed here during our college scouting trip. It is very close to George Fox and there is a great Starbucks a short distance down the street. The room was nice and the pool/hot tub were clean and functional. Our view was pretty non-existent, but we were not there for the view. Check In and Check Out were smooth.
Staff here are all amazing and friendly. Everything we needed was accommodated to the best of their ability. The breakfast makes traveling so much easier and it's close by tons of food and grocery options.
The rooms are beautiful, the staff is very nice and friendly also the breakfast is very good. The swimming pool is good. In the breakfast room you can make wafels, they have also scrambled eggs with sausages, also there is sweet bread.
This hotel was perfect for our needs. The location was very good for our visit to the Willamette Valley wineries. It is very reasonably priced and the room was very adequate and clean. They offered us an upgrade as I have been a Best Western Member for many years. It was a larger room but on the second floor and there is no elevator. We were fine but I think that is stupid to have a second floor with no elevator. Anyways, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful- they helped me plan our way through Portland to avoid traffic jams.
We recently stayed at the Newberg Best Western while visiting George Fox University. The Hotel was extremely convenient to the University. Kayla, the front desk manager in the morning was extremely helpful in giving us advice to visiting Silver Falls, definitely worth it, downtown Portland, and other things about the area. Didn't really try the breakfast but it looked like what one would find at other hotels.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was dark great for sleeping. The bath room was a little small for getting ready but other than that the room was nice. The pool and hot tub was nice for the hotel.
This BW is a great price/value choice. We rate it high on cleanliness, sleep quality, and a genuinely warm greeting. A European rating would award it three stars based on amenities. For example, there is no mini-bar or restaurant although there are grocery and liquor stores as well as many mid-level chain food service outlets immediately nearby. Moreover, there is a small pool and workout room, and the room itself has an iron and board, a fridge, safe, microwave, and good drawer space. The desk is adequate but not something you would want for an extended business stay although wi-fi is included and there were four plug and two USB outlets. At the back of the property is an electric car charging station. Based on our comfort experience, however, we have given it five stars for a hotel in its category range. Invited to a tasting dinner in Oregon Wine Country, we decided the better part of valor would be to spend the night in the area. Most B&B's want a two-night stay; the fancy spa in the area seemed a huge price to pay for just a prudent overnight celebrating somewhere else. Located on the busy Pacific Highway, the hotel is very smartly sited perpendicular to the road so that none of the rooms hear the road traffic. We were not disappointed by Best Western; and if the need should arise, we would return.
The location is perfect to everything if you like to walk, like we do. The front desk guys know where all the better places to eat and the good coffee, I don't like Starbucks to me it tastes bitter. But the local coffee shop has a drive through and conference room, but also a nice coffee shop with outdoor seating. The internet is better but still slow.
Very clean, centrally located hotel. Quiet. Great nights sleep. Very helpful staff. We found places to eat within walking distance as well. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay in Newberg.
The Neuburg, OR BW is a comfortable and quiet Motel. The staff is professional and helpful. I would recommend this motel to any customers in the Tualatin Valley. Close to many good restaurants ans shopping
WE thought the hotel was new because it was so clean and bore no hotel room smell. It was very quiet although our room was adjacent to the pool area, which used. Kayla, the desk manager, was especially professional, gracious, and welcoming on our early arrival.
We stay in Best Westerns a lot and I'm guessing this is one of the older ones based on (small) size and location on busy highway, which is surrounded by suburban stores of all descriptions that seem to have grown up around it. That said, it was very clean and well appointed with friendly helpful staff. We had a king jacuzzi room and the tub was great! after a long day, but I would recommend a room toward the back as this one was located right above to noisy kid pool, which fortunately quieted down before bedtime. Also, stay toward the back of the building as it was a lovely night for open windows but just too much traffic noise. I was surprised by the thin walls-I expect to hear voices occasionally but the foot stomping in the hall and adjacent rooms literally rattled our floor! Best Western breakfast basic but reliably tasty as Usual.
From the moment we checked in with Ben, to our clean and comfortable room. and the great breakfast hosted by Ashley, we loved this place! Close to hundreds of wineries, cookies in the afternoon, and Jerimiah the puppy making us feel welcome, this place is great! The hot tub is hot, the breakfast is great, and the rooms are comfy. Stay here!
Stayed years ago and has a facelift, but not the qualities of some of the other BW we have stayed in recently. Young lady at the front desk was truly awesome and is a keeper. Place is clean, but could use some new pillows.
We were here for two nights, being in town for our daughter's basketball tournament. Everything was great from the moment we first walked into the lobby and checked in. Our room was a king bed suite with a small kitchen area and it was very clean. We had the free breakfast only one morning because we wanted to explore other restaurants, but it was good the morning we did have it. There was everything from breads, muffins, scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, waffles, yogurts, milk, juices, coffees, and cold cereals. The staff was very friendly, and it was a great stay!!!
Stayed a couple days at this hotel. From the start the staff was very helpful and accommodating! Over all I was surprised with the variety and freshness of the breakfast items! I had the eggs, waffles and hash browns and they were very tasty. They also had bacon, frittata, biscuits and gravy and so many more options to choose from! I was very pleased over all but the breakfast definitively made the stay so much better!
Loves the family room. 3 queen beds and a jetted tub for same price as a standard room else where. Amazing. The pool was a comfortable temperature. The hot tub was clean. And the sauna was a nice bonus. Had a lot of breakfast options.
We stayed in Best Western in Newberg during holiday season. What an amazing experience we had!!! Large and clean rooms, free internet, clean and comfortable beds, continental breakfast!!! What more do you need when on vacation? Staff was amazing, great location, walking distance to restaurants and groceries, very close to silver falls, woodburn outlet mall! We really enjoyed our stay at Best western and I highly recommend it to anyone.
We spent the last weekend in Newberg for the Wine Club Crawl. After researching possible lodging we picked the BW based on reviews in Trip Advisor. This BW is a 3 star motel at most, but staff and management take pride in their establishment. Everyone we encountered was smiling and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable everything was in working order. Breakfast was very good. I'm a waffle lover and the batter produced a very fluffy and tasty waffle. The bacon was done right and my husband enjoyed his omelette and biscuits & gravy. Add to all that decent coffee, not great but decent. My husband is a coffee roaster and we are kinda coffee snobs so, decent is probably a good rating for someone else. Altogether we were very pleased with our stay. Absolutely a good value for your money.
My mother and I stayed here about 2 weeks ago. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted and felt welcomed. Breakfast was definitely our favorite. They offer many options such as fresh scrambled eggs, frittatas, delicious bacon, fresh fruits, donuts, and many more. We also enjoyed the clean pool, rooms and hallways! I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel. The property was very quiet as well and the staff was so amazing and helpful! We will definitely be back:)
We booked this hotel mainly because it is pet-friendly and located in a convenient location. When we checked-in, we were told that the only room available that was pet-friendly was on the second floor. Unfortunately, there is no elevator, and our dog is 11 with arthritis. We weren't happy about it but went upstairs. When we opened the room, we immediately noticed an odor so my husband went to ask again if there were any other rooms available. At that time, we were told that a room on the first floor just got finished cleaning so we ended up staying there for the evening. The hotel ground has a pet relief area in the back of the parking lot with poo bags. It was late at night so we didn't have our dog roam through the grassy pet relief area in fear of left-behind dog poop. We saw children playing in the indoor pool which looked like fun! In the morning, the breakfast was simple and sufficient. We enjoyed their frittata!
The Newberg, Oregon Best Western is an exceptional value. Service was great, staff is efficient and friendly, and the whole facility is clean and well maintained. The Best Western Newberg Inn is centrally located and convenient to shops, wonderful restaurants, and of course, the famous Oregon wine country.
Kayla was amazing friendly In doing my reservation. The breakfast was outstanding clean and well stocked. Room was great quite and clean. Pool area clean and very nice. Would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you to all there.
We stayed here on our way north through Oregon. It exceeded our expectations in terms of its cleanliness and comfort of the room and bed. For the price, it is hard to beat. While we would recommend the hotel, we would avoid the breakfast (included in the price) as the food was poor and the breakfast room heaving with people waiting for tables to become free.
My family recently stayed four nights at the Newberg Best Western over the Thanksgiving break. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and clean. Being able to print off documents that I needed was a nice amenity and the front desk was great at helping me print off the papers I needed. Kayla at the front desk and the lady who ran the continental breakfast stood out to us for their customer service because they really made an effort to make my whole family feel welcome, especially my three year old daughter which they took the time to talk to her. My three year old especially like the toy she got to pick out after our first morning at the continental breakfast! Kayla also went above and beyond to make sure we didn't need anything from housekeeping on Thanksgiving since we had a do not disturb sign up while our little ones were napping and they had a shortened day due to the holidays. We will definitely be stay here again.
Best Breakfast experience I've had in awhile! Everyone must come to this hotel very nice and clean. When I arrived I was greeted with polite and friendly manner. My room when I walked it was organized and put together nicely... well done!
I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely loved it here, the breakfast was super good, I really enjoyed the fresh warm scrambled eggs, and the lady at the breakfast was really nice. I would definitely return next time.
I stayed here about a month ago and I can't help but trying to find an excuse to go back. This place is wonderful the breakfast is great with waffles, fresh scrambled eggs are out of this world. The front desk associates and breakfast assistants are very nice and cordial. The pool was very clean and sauna was wonderful me and my four children really enjoyed it
The place is safe and basic. Staff very nice and polite. Convenient to wineries. Reasonable price. Clean. Breakfast is more substantial than most similar places. Kids will love the pool. This is a pet friendly place.
The hotel is very easy to find and the location is great and very close to George Fox. Upon arrival, the hotel looks nice, the small lobby is updated and cozy, the front desk attendant was very friendly. We enjoyed tea, coffee and fruit. As soon as we opened the room door, the chemical smell in the room was overwhelming! If you are sensitive these types of scents, do not stay here! The furnishings are very outdated and the carpet looks very worn. We could very clearly hear the conversations in the rooms on either side of us, as well as every sound from outside. Thankfully, the air conditioner has an option to run continuously, so that helped with the noise. I am not sure why there aren't more reviews about the very uncomfortable bed. Maybe it was just our room? After a very long day of traveling and college tours with our son, I was very much looking forward to laying down, but I was met with the hardest bed I have ever laid in. Not just firm, but very hard! It felt like laying on a table! The pillows are pretty flat, so if you like a soft bed and fluffy pillows, again, look elsewhere. The shower curtain was tinged yellow and the bath towels were very small and old. I did enjoy the toiletries and the shower head and pressure where nice. Breakfast was nice and full of variety. Mainly a lot of processed foods, but that's typical of a hotel at this price point. I appreciated the fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs and they had almond milk as a option for those who need it. Unfortunately, the smell, thin walls and the bed will keep us away from coming back.
Location is convenient and easy. Rooms are clean. What really made us pleased is the care the staff had for our sick daughter. She threw up all morning due to stomach bug virus. The staff asked several times what they could do for us. They gave the room an extra cleaning. They gave us water and food for our daughter. They were so flexible regarding our schedule. People always make the difference!
Stayed here for a softball tournament. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean. Comfy bed. There was no elevator. Had an indoor pool that was good. Breakfast was fine. Lots of choices. Would stay here again.
We stayed in Newberg on a business adventure. I had to do a lot of emailing back and forth as the quantity of rooms and types of rooms kept changing. Staff was responsive and got it all correct at check in. They even had the keys labeled with each of my guest's names. Breakfast was much better than expected with do it yourself waffles, several types of fresh fruit, quality yogurt options, orange juice that tasted like oranges. Verynice.
My wife and I recently spent a night at this motel and really enjoyed the experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was very large and spotlessly clean. The motel is located on a busy street but it was very quiet in our room. They provide a better than average breakfast buffet. We would definitely stay here again.
Located on the major road, pretty much a long strip mall, through downtown Newberg, this location is handy to numerous restaurants and vinyards in the Willamette area. The hotel is clean and comfortable enough, with a small pool that families with children took advantage of. We were looking for a comfortable overnight stay at a reasonable price-point, while we explored nearby vinyards, and that's a Best Western strength. Breakfast in the morning was included.
The Best Western Newberg was a very convenient location for a couple day wine tour through the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The hotel is very easy to find on Highway 99w from Portland and the highway provides easy access to the numerous wineries. The hotel provides a nice breakfast each morning (cereals, breads, fruit, eggs, bacon, waffle iron, etc.). The room was very comfortable and the wi-fi was excellent. A very comfortable hotel and I would stay here again.
I stayed here last year and enjoyed the Hotel and it's location. Booked it way in advance but forgot to tell them I was going to have my son's dog staying with us. They were booked solid with no pet rooms open. I was very unhappy but it was my fault thinking all the rooms were pet friendly. We had to leave the dog with friends but the next morning they gave me a room that we could have the dog, they went out of their way for me.
My family booked and stayed in two rooms here for 4 nights while visiting family nearby. We checked in in the evening and were greeted by Kayla, manager at the desk. She was very nice and friendly and helped with everything. Our room was on the second floor near the back, so we were able to park near the stairs and not have too much trouble getting our luggage upstairs. Our rooms were large with a king bed in each. There were also microwaves and fridges. It would have been nice to have some cutlery and bowls in the rooms. I did notice that even though our two rooms were the same size, one room had a large easy chair and ottoman, but the other room didn't. It would have been nice to have them in both rooms. The beds were very comfortable and the curtains did a good job of darkening the rooms. The showers could have been stronger. I think they were trying to save water by using reduced flow shower heads. The wi-fi could be a little faster. But we managed okay. At one point during our stay, we accidentally plugged one of the toilets, and the desk manager, I think his name was Jeff, not sure, came up right away and unplugged it. He was very accommodating about it and didn't make us feel akward. The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub, put we only took advantage of it once because we found the water way too cold! It was so cold, that once we got ourselves down into it, it was just too unpleasant to move around and swim. They provide a breakfast which includes waffles, cold cereals, eggs, bacon, biscuits/gravy, yogurts, fruit, toast, pastries, coffee, tea and juice. Gracie, one of the staff for the breakfast room, was very friendly and efficient. She was always on top of refilling things when needed. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the other staffer who was there when Gracie wasn't. I didn't get her name. She left the breakfast room quite often, wasn't quick with refilling things and she never tried to interact with us. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and we will definitely come here again.
If you are looking for a clean, very reasonably priced hotel, this is a good choice. They offer breakfast with the room and have a fitness center and pool as well. The service has been very accommodating. Note that this hotel does not have an elevator, which is an issue with heavy luggage. This is not a high end spot, but the location was close to many of the wineries we selected.
While visiting Newberg, Oregon for a family wedding, we stayed at the Best Western where we received very friendly service, a large room with a king bed ( very comfortable ) and a central location. The hotel is right on highway 99, yet it was very quiet. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, the pool/sauna/hot tub and the small gym. This was our third stay at this hotel and we will definitely return.
I stayed in Best Western Newberg over the July 4th long weekend, it is one of the best places to stay for the town, I was visiting Newberg for my holidays with my friends, this hotel is well maintained, the staff here are very friendly and very helpful. They had a great choice of breakfast, we enjoyed it. Rooms were clean and well lit. Our overall experience was very pleasant and planning to stay in the same place for my next visit to Newberg.
If I could give no stars I would! The lady upon check in was mean! I made this reservation at 6pm, at 7 pm they were calling to see when I was coming. When we got there, she didn't explain how to get to our room, or that there was no elevator, or just two doors to unload through. There was hair all over the bathroom, mold in the shower, and someone had left rose pedals in the shower that had attached to the shower curtain ?? when I called customer service (which was great) they assured me the manager would be down to address it with house keeping, I waited an hour.... nothing! When I finally checked out, the said manager said he would NEVER come to a room that early (830) because it would wake me??!!! What a joke! RUN away from this hotel! Per customer care, this will be an open case until further notice
I have been going to this motel for over 7 years. I ALWAYS ask for the lower floor because i am handicapped so me and stairs do not get along. I made my reservation 4 months in advance. Got a confirmation that i got the room but it was dog friendly, I didnt care as long that it was lower floor. The man that took my took the reservation and made sure i was on the lower floor. A day before i left i got an e-mail called early check in. typed in there and said the same thing as i told them in March. BUT they had me on the upper floor. The lady at the desk was very nice and was able to change it to the lower floor but for 1 night, but only 1 bed so grandson slept on the floor, said was a hide away bed in there. There wasn't one. Next day they got me one on the lower floor with 2 beds like i wanted. BUT when i checked my bank statement they charged me over $160.00 more than what i was quoted. Went to desk told the manager what happened. I guess it was my fault that i didnt take the top floor. So this is the LAST time i will every come here. Oh ya i forgot to tell you about the sugar ants that took over the table and my computer. Went to desk told them about it and was brushed off by "ok thank you" thank goodness i am leaving in the morning.
Clean, well appointed hotel in Newberg. This is as good as any Best Western Plus hotels we have visited. Very comfortable bed and sitting area. Excellent choices at breakfast. Walking distance to shipping and dining.
We value hotel cleanliness above all else and this Best Western definitely delivered. The bathrooms were outdated, but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. For the area we got a fair price and enjoyed our stay.
This was a very good hotel to stay at. The room was very good, great bed and very clean. The only drawback was there is NO elevator. We were on the second floor so we lugged our luggage to our room. The other thing was they were resurfacing the parking lot ( very inconvenient).
After reading other reviews on TripAdvisor, I had requested a room in the back during my reservation. When we arrived at the hotel, Ben said that they gave us a room in the back, as requested! Our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was good and was what we expected. It was nice to be able to walk to J's Family restaurant.
I made a reservation here through Expedia originally for one night while I toured wine country in northern Willamette Valley. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was nice and large, and the breakfasts were continental with additional eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles that you could help yourself to. They allowed me to mapquest directions on their computer in the business area to different wineries with no problems (especially since I discovered that some of them are rather isolated like Beaux Freres and get no cell phone reception). I also discovered that they are pet friendly but you have to book in advance since only a few of their rooms are designated to accommodate dogs. A big plus for pet lovers!! I found the place well located in wine country here and very good for my purposes. Would stay here again if I ever came back to Newberg!
Family event in Newport. Got in to PDX late in the day and didn't want to drive an additional 2+ hours to destination. Found this solid property with great reviews about 30 minutes out of Portland and was very happy with our stay. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms clean, showers hot with great pressure. Even the free breakfast was surprisingly tasty. Definitely recommend.
Most Best Westerns we gave stayed at have had a spot out front to watch the bikes. Not here, didn't even have a security camera for the parking lot. Breakfast though was one of the best. Wifi was fairly good and the price was reasonable.
we stayed here one night in our way to portland. the frontdesk staff are very kind and helpful.the room is spacious , comfy bed ,well furnished.the breskfazt is quite good and tasty. we enjoyed the coffe machine in the lobby after a long drive here.
Very nice beds with a nice size room. Very personable staff, very clean and comfortable rooms. This is a great location as well to visit the local wineries. Steve Craig, author 'Italy Travel and Adventures'
This is your standard Best Western. It does and provides everything you expect from a Best Western, which is a large, clean room. However, the bed was below par. The services were quite good. The wifi was good. The breakfast was very good, including all the regular items plus hand-sliced fresh fruits and hot food such as biscuit and gravy and bacon.
We stayed one night at this hotel. Overall the hotel outside looks OK but the keypad to get into the door to the hallway from the parking lot didn't look like it was finished and had no label on it. The check in process itself was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. They even gave us a mini goodie bag for our dog. The lobby was nice, there was a separate breakfast room and an indoor pool. The room itself did not have a fresh scent when we first opened the door. The bathroom could have been cleaner (floor) and the carpet was stained in several locations. Being a pet friendly room we can understand why the carpet was in that condition. Unfortunately, the bad things about the room were . . . The showerhead had little water pressure which made showering take a lot longer, the towels were mixed - some were quite thin and others just average in fluffiness, the hanger bar in the closet was quite cumbersome to use. The walls are also quite thin so you can easily hear your neighbors above and next to you. The good things - The king bed was firm and the bedding was not scratchy, the pillows were small and fluffy. They had a one cup Keurig coffee maker which was nice. They had a liquid hand soap dispenser in the bathroom. The breakfast they offer in the morning was great, just enough of the basics to send you off on your way. We also appreciated the large grassy area they had at the back of the property for the dogs. Overall, for a one night stay it was a reasonable price to pay.
good property. Same as some Best Western Plus units. Looking forward to visiting again soon. We liked the dog friendly facility. The pet walking area in the back of the property was very wet. I brought this issue to the property managers attention. Appears there may be a leak in the lawn sprinkling system which require attention.
We stayed at the Newberg Best western Inn in April 2018 for three nites. The rooms were clean, and the continental breakfast was actually a full breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage , juices, waffles, oatmeal, coffee, toast, donuts, and more. The employees very very nice. Even an indoor pool. Great experience.. Tom ,
The Newberg Inn offers clean comfortable rooms, nice amenities, a central location for business in town or tours of the surrounding wineries - all at a good price point. The only down side for me was a very average mattress on the bed.
While I do enjoy staying here when visiting relatives, the beds are a bit too firm. Great continental breakfast. My son and I enjoyed the pool and hot tub while here. It was nice to be greeted in a friendly way when we checked in,
Wonderful staff and very well laid out room and extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was the best ever. Had issue with ants in the room and also the main door would not shut and lock each time. We understand the ants were sprayed by maintenance the next day. The main door issue we are sure will be figured out and dealt with before someone else checks into the room. An excellent place and issues were dealt with.
The facility was clean and well kept. They had adequate parking for all guests. Free parking seems to be a very sought after commodity. Their lot had good sized spaces, was clean and well lit. The only thing that I would like to see is a larger room for the Breakfast.
We went to Newberg for our granddaughters graduation from nursing school at George Fox. This place was in the heart of the city and close to everything. A nice clean place. The breakfast they provide is one of the best we ever had. Highly recommend.
This hotel is kinda squeezed into a small spot in between businesses, kind of out of place which makes for odd parking and checking in to other more convenient hotels. The front desk when checking in was average and the rooms were okay, but I can't say that we would stay here again. Not a bad place for sure, just that we would look elsewhere next visit to the area.
Loved the breakfast, and the staff were super helpful and friendly! The servers stuck around to check in and were always looking for ways to be helpful to all the guests. I'm not much into hotel breakfasts but this one was great!!
We decided to stay here on the spur of the moment, called and were upgraded to a suite upstairs. Our room had a jacuzzi tub and was spacious and clean. There is an indoor pool here and basic continental breakfast included with your room. This is a great place for an overnight stay. :)
This is a great place to stay! Very clean, friendly staff, nice rooms. The breakfast room is way more than you would expect for this price. Lots of variety and the food was great! I will definitely stay here again!
Only bad thing was that there was no elevator. Otherwise, an excellent staff to help you with baggage, a good Breakfast selection and good working amenities.location was close to everything including stores, restaurants and pharmacies. I'd stay here again.
One of the best BW's we have ever stayed. The manager Kayla was a joy and so accommodating. Also, Ashley who cares for the breakfast room was delightful. The full breakfast was very good with just about anything you could ask for. The cleaning staff kept our accommodations pristine. We have stayed many times at this motel and have always found it very delightful.
Too good a breakfast for a bestwestern hotel. Very clean, great service, friendly front desk. Highly recommend to friends and family. Please ask for 202 if you are a family. Service by breakfast girl Ashley was good and friendly.
I have occasion to visit this location on a regular basis and the staff are always very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is one of the few quality options in an area that is extremely enjoyable to visit -- in addition to business trips I try to get to this area when possible for vacation.
The breakfast was one of the best I've had at a motel. There was lots of choices to eat so almost anyone could find something that they would like. The fritatas were awesome. The coffee was even good. Ashley was a very good and friendly hostess. As for the Wifi, it was easy to connect to and very responsive.
Wonderful treatment by yhr staff especially Kayla, unlimited variety of breakfast bar with fresh cut fruits, bacon, fritatas, four variety of cereal, greek yougurt, gluten free food. My family was overwhelmed with the pool, spa, sauna. Parking lot was brightly lit and felt safe.. Breakfast lady Gracie was gracious and volenteered to cook some special round bacon too.Children were happy with the unlimited internet with 50mb speed to all our ipads, laptops..could even stream netflix on the in room 42 inch tv Immencely like everything..
Nice hotel right off George Fox University campus. Also near lots of very good wine tasting rooms in Newberg, too. Hotel is comfortable, quiet, and convenient to Newberg activities. We walked from hotel through pleasant neighborhoods and to excellent restaurants for dinner.
Great rate. upgraded to suite upon arrival. great breakfast. exactly what we needed. quiet. great pool. fitness area. perfect room. loved the comfortable bed and pillows. Also asked at front desk if I could buy some water and He gave me two bottles. Asked for conditioner and gave me some also
We were in Newberg for business at George Fox University and needed a hotel where we could bring our dog. But a friend volunteered to watch our dog so we were able to have a jacuzzi bath suite instead of a downstairs "dog friendly" room. We arrived earlier than expected and our room was available. The staff was polite, very helpful and amazing in service towards us. The room was clean, I had the pool, hot tub, sauna area all to myself which was great! Free wi-fi and a room with a good sized refrigerator and microwave was very convenient. The complementary breakfast was a full 2 counter bar with bake your own pancakes, hot bar of biscuits, gravy and eggs, toasts, cold side had yogurt, hard boiled eggs, burritos, cereal, fruit and drinks. We will definitely stay here again!
I stayed at this lovely hotel for four days during one of the long weekends. My overall experience was very good, I need to mention that room was very clean and well maintained. The hotel staff was very friendly. I enjoyed my breakfast during the stay, they had a lot of options. I have to specially mention about the wi-fi speed, it was pretty fast for my regular browsing and social media. I am sure I will visit this place again.
Clean in appearance and smell. Pleasing, relaxing colors throughout. A no worries stay any time we are in the Newberg area. Schedule as early as you can - and expect to pay more - if you are staying during Freshmen check in, Family Weekend or Graduation at George Fox University.
Overall, very happy with all aspects of motel except for very uncomfortable bed. breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Good parking area. Access to shopping was very good. Very professional staff.
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, wifi reception was excellent (5 bars), and we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. This was also the best value of all comparable hotels in the area. What more can you ask for. We often travel with our small dog so we will certainly stay here again.
I was on a business trip. I experienced excellent service from the staff. The staff were friendly. The staff were also very helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of foods. I was at Newberg BW for 2 days on a business trip. Highly recommend. Plan on using pool next stay.
Excellent staff at this hotel. Great service! Hotel itself is kind of what you would expect at a Best Western, not fancy but adequate. Would stay here again if needed. Location right on the main highway through town, but was quiet enough.
This is the nicest Best Western Hotel we have stayed at. In the heart of town close to all the vineyards. Room very clean and comfortable with very good mattress. Room large and had amenities. The breakfasts were substantial and very good. Attendant keeps it spotless and stocked. The staff were very nice.
While the outside is ordinary, the inside appeared recently renovated and was very nice. The rooms were clean and a good size. The breakfast was more than “continental “ and had nice selections of everything from fruit and cereal to pastries and hearty items like eggs and biscuits and gravy. However, the best part of out stay at this hotel is the staff. Every person we were in contact with was a fantastic example of customer service. From Kayla at the front desk to the ladies taking care of the continental breakfast. The employees make this a great place to stay. I would certainly stay here again.
This my go to hotel in the Newberg area. When ever I am working in the area this is where I stay. The staff is always very nice and helpful. As a rewards member they upgrade my room, and I get a great value for the money. Nice selection at breakfast, Close to many wineries good food options.
Stayed for two nights. Clean room and a good bed which are very positive things in a stay. The place was also very quiet. The breakfast though was usually short on items and cold. We tried breakfast both days but ended up going elsewhere and paying for a decent meal. The rooms were also very basic and the bathroom your typical small bathroom. The place could use with an updating.
Would DEFINATELY stay again. Friendly staff, clean, and comfortable rooms, pool and work out, and slept like a log. Did NOT hear any neighbors on the floor or below. Convenient to the car for loading and unloading. Washer and dryer were needed and rather inexpensive at that! I would say a 5-star quality at a 2- star price!
Excellant and safe stop on our visit to Willamette Valley, Oregon. •My Son's Wedding party, inlaws and us all stayed and really enjoyed the stay ranging three to five days amongst us. •In the heart of Wine Country where we could visit so many wineries, vineyards, museums and restaurants. •Location, Location, Location !!!
Like many hotels the water pressure is turned soo low you can't get wet in the shower. Then when you get soapy it is really tough to get the soap & conditioner rinsed completely off. Has anyone figured out that you in there so much longer just to get rinsed it uses as much water as if it was able to cut shower time by a third. Same with new toilet flushes. I doubt having to flush twice save much water.
This was an excellent experience, how hotel stays should be. The room was first class. Our experience at check in was great. Breakfast was all we needed to get the day off to a good start. The swimming pool and gym were also faultless.
Best Western Newberg was the best hotel on our Oregon/Washington vacation. Pros: Very clean, comfortable bed, nice sitting area in room, modern, excellent breakfast, extremely helpful staff, nice pool Cons: no elevator to second floor
Staff were very friendly on check in, we had prebooked the room to get the best rate. Only 13 miles from Woodburn premium outlet stores. Jet bath tub in room we chose but hot tub and sauna is available in communal area.
This hotel has an extremely high occupancy rate. As such, I feel that the maintenance needs to be looked after much more than other hotels. Pool, hot tub and sauna were very well kept, but did notice the pool bottom needed to be cleaned.
Wilsonville BW (our 2nd choice) suddenly didn't have a dog-friendly room. Newberg is ALWAYS our first choice but due to George Fox opening, there didn't seem to be a room in Newberg available - Skyler squeezed us in at the last minute - GREAT JOB!
Newly remodeled, nice accommodations. Stayed in the 3 queen room with spa tub in the bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Moving to a jacuzzi suite for next few nights. Staff is moving our packed bags for us while we are out and about. Breakfast had a decent selection and was filling.
Room is clean and serviceable. Price is great. Breakfast is nothing to write home about, but can get quick bagel cup of coffee or piece of fruit. Room has free wifi and premium channels on television for free, also Parking is free for guest.
We strayed at this Hotel for two nights. We were in town for a wedding in Dundee. We were running late and two men at the front dest were very helpful. One of them printed out a map for us and helped in every way. I didn't get their names but they were working the front dest on Friday at 5:00 p.m. August 25th
Only a one night stop prior to the 2017 eclipse. Decent hotel close to vineyard destinations. Room was ready upon arrival at four. Easy early checkout. Plenty of ice for the cooler. Helpful staff, provided good recommendations for nearby dinner options.
Stayed two nights on 8/20 and 21. Had a "mini-suite" which is a regular room with a pony wall between the bed and couch. Room was adequate and clean and comfortable. Nice indoor pool but no "pool towels" when I used it. Had to go back to the room and grab a towel. My computer showed wifi connection but could not get on the internet. Had to use the computer in the lobby. Breakfast adequate and typical of Best Western hotels. Located on a super busy street but room was quiet. I would stay there again.
Hotel was recently remodeled and now visually appealing. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Well stocked, and appetizing breakfast. Close to wine country. Quick check in and check out. I would stay there again.
The room and the whole hotel were very clean. All staff were friendly. The complimentary breakfast offered just about every choice I've ever seen at a complimentary breakfast. I don't personally care for the new small pillows that most hotels seem to use these days, but they were comfortable. The only detractor was a lack of an elevator. I definitely would return to this location!
This is a great place to stay while we got our son moved in at George Fox University. It was close by and we had everything we needed to focus on the task at hand. The hotel was fresh and updated. The breakfast was tasty but the coffee was weak. A new Starbucks is just a 3 minute walk away.
Insects, meager healthy breakfast items and the inability to park in front of the lobby door to check in and unload luggage all contributed to an unfortunate stay. The bathroom was so small for a King room - hardly room for one person, certainly not two.
Very centrally located in the wine area. Hotel is clean with large rooms. Has a small work out center and free breakfast. On par with new Fairfield Inns. No elevator if you are on second floor. Also has pool and hot tub. Flat panel TVs and separate sink / bathroom areas.
Clean room. Clean linens. Good breakfast. Friendly employees. Easy location. This was my third hotel on a week long trip and the best value for the price. Thankfrul for a working air conditioning unit!
Staff were very friendly and courteous, room was clean with microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety. Pool, spa and sauna all good. Small exercise room but perfectly fine. We would definitely stay here again. We booked far in advance so got a good $83 rate.
Facility was fine, service is average: we requested for extra blanket which we got on the last night of our 4 night stay with additional call; we requested box of tissues, had to wait 2+ hours with additional call.
Very nice hotel right in the midst of everything. Excellent breakfast, nice accommodations. I'd stay there again if/when I go back to Newberg, OR. The price was reasonable, breakfast good and staff friendly.
Large room with a good bed. Also very good wifi. Well located for touring the wineries. Lots of parking, and a good breakfast selection. There is an indoor pool that kids would enjoy. There is lots of parking handy to the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. If in the area we would stay again.
We stayed here the week of July 17th, had a great experience. Very clean well kept motel, the employee's very nice & helpful Would highly recommend this motel. Was in Newberg for family family reunion. Thank you to all!
We found this location to be very easy to access, close to restaurants, the room very clean, staff super helpful and friendly, and most importantly our room was very quiet. We would recommend this motel. The overall value beats out some other higher priced hotels we have stayed in recently. Simple, nice, and clean.
A friend and I stayed here on a quick trip to Oregon wine country. It's right on Highway 99, so very convenient for traveling to the local wineries. Our room was very quiet. Staff was helpful and pleasant.
Sickly sweet odor from cleaning solution, even opening the window didn't dissipate it. No elevator. Minimal continental breakfast, worst we've experienced. Good location ... But lots of affordable alternatives.
Excellent motel except for two items one of which is nothing to do with the motel. It took greater than 15 minutes to get into the motel because of extreme traffic that looks like a normal event here. The second item was soap dispensary was old & cheap so the products wouldn't come out no matter how hard you worked at them.
Clean except for the annoying room Odor spray. No elevators so you have to haul luggage up a flight of stairs. It was clean. The AC we had to look up an online override to be able to keep our room comfortable. Don't expect the front desk to answer the phone or address your questions.
Andrea ( manager), Kayla and Beth are all to be commended. They went above and beyond during our visit to your property. We Enjoyed our time there and they made us feel at home. Also, the Lady that worked the breakfast was Awesome. I'm sorry I did not get her name. My family and I love the location of Hotel, cleanliness, friendliness and helpful of staff especially to Andrea, Kayla and Beth. These ladies are an asset to your company and they truly deserve a raise. We would like to come back on our next visit. Thanks again very much Ladies:) Berny Juengst and Family
Clean Room. Very comfortable bed. Check-In agent was very friendly, offered great suggestions of what to see and where to eat based on my interests. Also, the Breakfast options and presentation were fantastic.
The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. Inside entry which is nice. Our room was quiet. They serve a full breakfast which is wonderful way to start the day. The room had a deep jetted tub. So if you have a bit of trouble with mobility you would need to ask for a different type of bathroom. Great hotel in a good part of town. Definitely worth it.
Our family stayed here for one night on our way to coast to break up travel. We were able to easily book from road and were quickly checked in on arrival. We chose a second floor room. Very basic inside but all seemed clean. A lot of people still in parking lot and pool when we arrived around 10:30 pm. Noise seemed to die down so we all could sleep. Morning breakfast was filling and multiple options. Good for a quick stop.
I had foot surgery a few weeks ago, but we had a visit planned to see my daughter in Newberg. We booked this hotel and paid for it prior to our arrival, but when we arrived at the hotel we were informed our room was on the second floor, but there was no elevator in the whole place! I had to hobble up a flight of 20 or so stairs to get to the floor where our room was located. Supposedly recently remodeled. How can you have multiple floors in a hotel with no elevator? Even if you aren't disabled, lugging luggage up stairs is no picnic. How can a place like this be allowed to be without an elevator? On top of all this, people were yelling and playing loudly in the pool past 11 p.m. making getting to sleep very difficult. Not at all happy.
We loved the pool and breakfast! Our bed seemed smaller than a queen, possible full? Wished thee were more blankets but overall great stay! We will be back and look forward to using some reward points!
My wife and I we choose this hotel to visit vineyards and wine tasting and dining in good restaurants around the area. Great relation price/product. This is a place very well located, excellent service and attention, clean, perfect to use it for business or vacation. We are very pleased with the help of the staff.
This hotel has recently been remodeled and was very nice, clean and comfortable. The price was also right. It was conveniently located and easy to find and along the right path of our travels after a day of wine tasting. I would recommend this hotel. I also saw signs that it was pet friendly, although we didn't travel with a pet.
A typical small town best Western with outstanding and very friendly and helpful staff and spartan features. Nice and ok place to crash with zero frills. Kept very clean and reasonably located. Will certainly return for business.
The BW in Newberg was very nice. The only problem that we had was that we needed a handicap dog friendly room. We had made reservations in advance and were informed of this issue. Since we were staying there because of graduation at Linfield College, we decided that we would need a dog friendly room. We did not know it would be on 2nd flr. There is no elevator and it made the stay very difficult for my handicap husband who struggles getting up and down the stairs.
Someone there took great notes on my phone call to them wishing to extend my stay because they recalled that my wife and I were coming into the area for our 20th anniversary. I mention this because there was a really sweet note, towel animal on the bed, along with a bottle of wine wishing us a happy anniversary. That was very unexpected and very much appreciated! I would definitely stay here again.
The outside of the building is an older building, but the inside is well-maintained clean nice professional. The rooms are very clean modern, the breakfast is very good and has multiple variety, the fitness center is great, as well as the pool and sauna. The rooms have a fridge and a microwave. This is a great value, and the staff is very professional and attentive.
This hotel has everything you would need to enjoy the surroundings and can't beat the price. The main wineries are a short 6-8 miles away. They have a great breakfast better then most. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were very quiet which surprised me since the hotel is right off the main road. I would definitely stay here again!
We made the Best Western Newberg Inn our convention headquarters motel, and we couldn't be happier with the cooperation we received from the manager and all motel staff. They went out of their way to welcome our guests and meet their needs. The manager's flexible attitude and ability to problem-solve set the tone for the staff. It contributed hugely to making our convention a success!
Clean, comfortable, modern, quite and friendly staff. Full breakfast included in the same building, no need to go out in the rain. Easy to find on Hwy 99, good location for anything in Newberg. Good rates, what more do you need.
The staff at this mid-range hotel are great. Upon check-in we were told we were a day early, but they were very accommodating and were able to look after us quite nicely. Our room was clean and functional. The king bed was very comfortable so we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was average but we enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies they served every evening.
Newberg Best Western is a little jewel in Oregon. Friendly, clean and well maintained. Staff goes out of the way to make sure each guest has an enjoyable stay. This is a central location to use as "home base" while touring Oregon's many sights.
Newberg Best Western has friendly service, clean rooms and a better-than-average breakfast. Whenever we are in Newberg and need a hotel, we go to the Best Western. If you are going to Newberg becasue of George Fox University, ask for your discount. AARP discount applies (not with any other discounts)
Only concern was the few small curly hairs in the bathtub and how often they cleaned the shower curtain due to seeing those hairs. Towels were very clean looking and plush, not worn out. Variety for breakfast even grab and go items. Friendly staff. Forget toiletries and they will give you free. They do not have an elevator so ask for a first floor room if that will bother you. This place is only two floors total. Overall room appearance is clean and is modernized. Pool, hot tub and fitness room. Very close to stores, grocery and restaurants...literally next door or down the street.
We stay here when we are in town and it is great. The remodel is beautiful and the room was clean. Kayla, front desk, helped correct our reservation and was fantastic after a long day on the road. Her friendly personality and sense of humor was appreciated. The hotel is safe and located in the right area for visiting Newberg.
During my stay it was quiet. The room was very clean. They had a nice breakfast. I only went once out of 3 days. Wish I had gotten up early enough for all my mornings there. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, a (single) coffee maker and wi-fi. Everything I needed for this trip!
The Best Western Newberg Inn is just blocks away from our family, and just what we need when we visit. Over the last 20 years or so, we've stayed here at least 4 times a year. They are upgrading right now (Thanksgiving 2016) but the work will be done soon, and everything will be shiny and bright again!
The staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was amazingly clean and well furnished. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have experienced and the bathroom was very clean and smartly designed with dispensers instead of the miniature supplies. We were very happy with this hotel and would use it again in a heartbeat!
Easy check in, pleasant employees, spacious clean ground floor unit, lovely, little indoor pool that unfortunately, I didn't get to try. After good night's sleep enjoyed the breakfast.Good location on highway. We were quite aways south when we realized a pillow had been left behind & phoned. It was kept for us & we picked it up on the way home.
Hotel is a great location if you are visiting GFU. Hotel is older, but is in the process of remodeling so we had new carpet in our room. Very smelly. There was no water pressure so showers were out for me as I have long thick hair (I filled the bathtub up about 6 inches which took about 15 min). The beds were VERY comfortable. House keeping did not make up our room and we were told it was because she was new. No compensation offered. We left the hotel before 11am and returned at 6:30pm to find our room the way we left it.
In the hustle and bustle of Route 99 W in Newberg, Oregon, we didn't expect the Best Western rooms to be as quiet and nicely appointed. But, facing the neighborhood instead of the street made all the difference. Rooms were clean and modern. A continental breakfast was included and there were lots of choices offered. The staff was welcoming and helpful.
I mean to start, its a Best Western, not the Four Seasons. This is a more affordable option than some other places in the area and does the trick in a pinch. The walls are a bit thin but the staff is helpful and the rooms are clean.
Staff is nice and helpful. The walls are a bit too thin, and I was subjected to my neighbors' "conversations" all night long. There are fleas rampant, as this is a pet-friendly place. When I expressed that my NON-pet room had fleas, the staff explained that as pets walk by my room, it is possible that fleas jump off and they can't keep fleas at bays- they have to rely on the guests not to bring fleas with them. The pool, hot tub and sauna are nice enough- however you will have a hard time finding a chair in the place. I think they have a grand total of 5 in the pool area, so plan on putting your THIN pool towel on the ground.
I'm moving halfway across the country and this was a stop for me to visit my friend in Portland. I wanted to stay at the BW in Tigard but when I called they were extremely rude. So even though this was a bit of a drive to Portland it's definitely worth it! Clean rooms, friendly staff. Didn't get to try breakfast. The only thing I did complain about is the heater/ac made an annoying high pitch noise so I just unplugged it and opened the windows.
My husband an I overnighted at this establishment on our way to Crater Lake, NP. While older, it was clean, safe and secure, spacious and comfortable. Best for us it provided easy access to restaurants and the I-5.
This is a very nice hotel, friendly front desk staff and a very nice hot breakfast including biscuits and gravy and little omelettes. All the usual pastries, cereals, yogurt, even oatmeal with a ton of topping choices. Loved that. Rooms were very nice, comfy beds, decent shower, super clean and sparkly, hallways clean, workout room with TVs if you want. Restaurants just down the street, try Shari's, great pie and shakes! Staff were willing to recommend all kinds of spots and even mapped for us. Convenient on the main road heading south, easy to find. Recommend in a heartbeat.
Stayed here six nights while house-hunting, learned everyone in Yamhill County is considerate (there must be exceptions, just didn't encounter any), and this motel is tops in making the visitor feel welcome. Most Best Westerns provide hot breakfasts and this one was real good, ate there every morning. Non-smoking hotel, left my window open at night, wifi worked fine, cleanliness perfect. Property well controlled, felt safe and secure.
A very pleasant stay. Courteous and friendly staff Rooms spacious. Nice large flat screen TV In room wireless internet parking was very adequate Over bed lighting was substandard Bath towels were thin and small. Would stay here again on our next visit
This is a new or very newly renovated Best Western. Very clean and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were very helpful and truly seemed happy to be there. One random thing, they only had shampoo no conditioner. Great option for enjoying wine country on a budget.
We recently stayed in this hotel as a base to explore Oregon wine country. First, the building is very plain. The sign isn't very good on the road, so we drove right by it the first time. The person working the front desk when we checked in was very friendly and helpful, as was everyone else at the front desk. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was the only highlight of this hotel. We had a first floor room. The room itself was very spacious. However, the furnishings need serious updating. In addition, the carpet was filthy - stains on the carpet and sticky. I didn't want to walk on it without shoes on. The bed was fine, and the linens seemed clean. However, based on my other experience with housekeeping, I have to question if they really were. I noticed on the first night/morning, that the bathroom wasn't as clean as I would expect. Some hair in the bathtub/sink, etc. When we returned to the room the first night, housekeeping had come in and cleaned. However, all they left us was 2 small bath towels and a bath mat. No hand towels and no wash cloths. When we looked at one of the bath towels, it was filthy. Stains of some sort on it, and black marks like grease or something. My husband went down to the desk to show them the dirty towel and ask for more towels, wash clothes, etc. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic, and gave us a 10% discount on the room. Night 2 we returned to our room and the room was not even made up. The bed was not made and there were no clean towels. This time, I went down to the desk. The front desk person again was very nice and apologetic. She said that housekeeping didn't make up the room because we had asked for clean towels the day before, and they thought we just wanted towels and didn't want our room made up. What??????? I've never heard of anything like that. In any case, it made the stay very disappointing. This hotel definitely needs a make over, and they need to give more training to their housekeeping staff. They also need to change out their old and stained towels. There are plenty of other options in the area. I think I'd pay a bit more and go for a nicer option next time.
An adequate room in an adequate motel in an adequate location. Generally unexceptional but not bad. Breakfast room and breakfast above average. Staff friendly. BUT (and you won't believe this) the shower head was held up by band aids and the towel rack was held together with scotch tape. Best Western, time for some quality control!
The hotel is very close to George Fox University and area restaurants, etc. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The location is quiet. Breakfast is adequate, but not wonderful. The breakfast room gets crowded and the food items start getting picked over.
I always stay at this hotel when visiting the Oregon wine country. The staff is friendly, and will put in the extra effort to make sure that your stay is a good one. They have pet-friendly rooms, which is very important to me.
Staff was extremely helpful and even let me arrive a little early due to schedule. Professional staff and very nice facilities. Internet speedy and great too. Right next to George Fox University where my daughter was checking in as a freshman. Only a few blocks from campus and many local businesses very close and convenient.
Very clean, updated lobby with decent rooms. Indoor pool and continental breakfast make it a very nice place to stay with kids! The bathrooms are small, but the clean room and close location to George Fox University make it an ideal spot! Closeby good restaurants and a huge Fred Meyer put it in a nice area of town.
First off this is a nice hotel for the money. I travel about half of the year so I know hotels. They have an indoor pool with a jacuzzi, big rooms, comfortable beds and its relatively quiet as the hotel is not directly on a major road. That being said this is a good $79.99 hotel in the off season and a $119.99 during the peak season. It is not so great if you are paying over $119. The carpets are somewhat worn, the furniture is sparse and older and the property overall is older. There are not a whole lot of options but try the Holiday Inn or Best Western in Wilsonville which are overall nicer, better maintained properties but only if the price is comparable. If you are looking just based on price, stay here. They do have microwaves and refrigerators in the rooms, HBO and a decent channel selection. Restaurants and a liquor store are close by as well as are some grocery stores. If you are not picky and the price is right this is your hotel.
Two queen beds, rollaway for $15, mom and two teen boys fit comfortably. Small fridge and microwave. The rollaway was horribly uncomfortable but at least we all had beds. If you've followed our adventures in Oregon this summer (see review of the Marriot Waterfront in Portland and Riverview Lodge in Hood River) you'll see that I'm most satisfied with this establishment. Even if it is just a best western, the breakfast was decent (neither of the other places had free breakfast), the room was large and quiet, and the price was good. I stay in Newberg frequently, and tried other hotels. I think I'll stick with this one.
We traveled across Oregon for a family vacation and this hotel was one of the nicer hotels we stayed at. The lobby is attractive, and the desk help very nice. The room was very clean and the hotel was quiet. Thankfully the room has room darkening curtains because we were right outside a very large auto parts sign that was lit like a beacon. the breakfast was very good with adequate seating.
We enjoyed our stay here in mid August. Clean, very friendly & helpful staff, convenient location for visiting local wineries & other sights, restaurants, and shopping. Nice breakfast options, free apples & newspapers. Room was very clean, bed had nice sheets & was very comfortable. An indoor pool and exercise room are available, plus a business center in the lobby/reception area. I was particularly impressed that they have designated pet friendly rooms but absolutely NO pet odor anywhere!! No need for concern. Highly recommend this inn and we will plan to return. Booking through Trip Advisor was great with best rate.
This was a stay on our way to Portland. Our initial non smoking room had an odor of cigarettes- the front desk immediately changed our room and all was good. Very spacious and a great value. Only issue was no elevator to get to 2nd floor room . If this is not an issue for you- you will be very happy with your room.
BW was close to all amenities and it was convenient for my scheduled activities. Pool maintenance was good. Tread mill needs replacing and I have mentioned this to BW staff. It was a nice option to have a micro and fridge in my room for some cost savings. thank-you.
This Best Western property is a perfect location for wine tasting in the surrounding Willamette Valley. The room was very clean and all of the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We were given maps of the winery locations throughout the valley, restaurant recommendations, and even an extra chair when asked. The breakfast was listed as offering an expanded continental meal, but we had never seen so much variety at a Best Western breakfast. Choices included Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches, sausage and biscuits, egg frittatas, hard boiled eggs, and sausage links as well as the usual baked goods, make it yourself waffles, cereals, beverages, and fruit. The breakfast room hostess cheerfully kept everything spotless and well replenished. Since we stayed two nights it was great to wake up to a good breakfast before heading out to the wineries. We will stay here again!
This is a really good place to stay in Newberg. We got it as a priceline express deal so I didn't get to choose it but was really pleased overall. The breakfast is the best we've had to date for all our travels. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, just fully stocked and the worker was so kind. Large indoor pool also (though a bit steamy and muggy inside). It's located right in the heart of Newberg so plenty of shops around. Good stay.
Very helpful staff located us on the ground floor to help with an elderly parent. Rooms were comfortable and clean. A recent remodel on the lobby and bathrooms looks very nice and modern. the "continental breakfast room" is a little tight if there are a lot of guests but the coffee was really good.
Visiting family I stayed here 3 nights. Has a pool and free full breakfast with nice staff. Good choice. Went to lots of wine tastings and this was close to all. Recommended for touring and to be near to stores, etc. this is comparable to a Fairfield Inn at Marriott. Older but well maintained.
We were traveling for a fastpitch tournament and BW happened to be the team hotel. Onsite reservation staff was always helpful and patient as was the onsite staff. Andrea was extremely helpful and accommodating from the start to finish of our experience with BW Newberg Inn. Hotel is near restaurants, SBUX, grocery stores and entertainment. Entry and exit for hotel is the same so signage could be better to point this out. Area near ice machines can get slippery so mats are suggested. I heard the breakfast options were good.
Helpful friendly staff. accommodated us at the last minute when we arrived in the area to find the Shilo Inn we had booked was under construction. Able to accommodate my disabled mother and our dog. Pool is indoors, so hot and stinky, but clean. Walking distance to lots of food.
It's a solid place to stay. We opted to stay here versus the Allison and spend the money we saved on wine! We didn't swim in the pool, but it was packed. We ended up in a handicap room with no tub, but good to know the accommodate wheelchairs. Friendly staff and the classic breakfast you would expect.
Non descript stay. All as described is accurate. Good breakfast and location. Our AC didn't seem to work, but it really wasn't necessary during our stay, so a moot point. I would stay here again, but then again, there's only so many choices in Newberg anyway!
First impression of parking to sign in was bad, figured out the two spaces right as you drive in were the right place to park. Backed up and got parked. Check in was easy in a nice lobby. Parking in the back was fine. Never did find the middle door to the hallway, but the back door worked fine (come through the handicapped parking space to save lifting your luggage. Sparkling clean room, comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Great heated pool, large and no strong chlorine smell. Hot tub was nice. Breakfast had waffles, frittatas, lots of fruit toppings for waffle, whipped cream, extra toppings for cereals, biscuits and gravy, apples and oranges for fruit. Good start for the day. Would stay here again.
Nice Best Western in Oregon wine country. Great price and breakfast was very good. Room clean and quiet. Visited the Chehalem wine tasting store just a few blocks away. It is also less than an hour away from Portland for day trips into the city without the expensive city hotels
Room has only a bed and a desk chair. Tv is very small and flashes advertisement non stop. Air conditioner didn't work but after run in with General Manager feared retaliation for informing of a rude staff member. He called us liars and destroyed what was supposed to be a great Independence trip. Phone call to GM resulted in being called a liar 5 un true responses and being told you are recorded the entire you at one of his properties and he has millions of dollars of properties. Said good bye three time to end arguments but he called back three times for more arguing. No hotels available to move to without disrupting other couples plans. Worst Experience ever with a BW property.
The staff was very helpful. One night we went out for Pizza and decided to take it back to the room to enjoy it with a bottle of wine and a movie. When we returned, I asked the clerk if there were any paper plates we could have. She went promptly to the room where they serve breakfast and returned with paper plates and flatware. We found the room clean and comfortable.
Great value, clean spacious rooms, pool, spa and sauna that were hardly used the week we were there. Big and varied breakfast. We loved it and would definitely stay there again when we work the St. Paul Rodeo next year!
The staff went out of their way to make our stay great! They made the end of our special occasion day perfect. We really appreciated the wonderful attitude and kindness. We would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.
This a nice quiet hotel just off 99 W in New Berg, Oregon. The breakfast was extremely good, especially the cooked oatmeal. Lots of great toppings for it! Coffee was excellent also. Great location to visit the many wineries in the area. Highly suggest The White Roses and Fox Farm. Travel GPS tip: If arriving from the east its better to go south on I-5 and to highway 219 and then take that into New Berg. 99W is a traffic jam with lots of traffic lights.
This hotel was great! From the minute we checked in to the time we checked out we felt welcomed! I'm usually picky on my breakfast, but this was a well presented and good tasting breakfast. Loved the cooked oatmeal with all of the toppings and the biscuits and gravy. Coffee was great also. Would definitely stay hear on our next visit.
My wife and I stayed at this Best Western while bike riding in the Willamette Valley. Staff was very pleasant. Room was quite clean and very large. Pool and facilities are good. Breakfast is above average for a major chain. Good value for the money.
My wife and I stayed at Best Western Newberg Inn for four nights while attending a conference at George Fox University in Newberg, OR. It was a very comfortable bed, the room was clean, everything in the room worked properly. We didn't use the pool/hot tub located near the lobby, but it looked inviting. We also didn't use the exercise room which looked small but adequate. I did use the lobby computer free of charge to print off airline tickets in advance and wi-fi was available. The breakfast was quite good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cleanish, affordable, basic food available in the mornings, walking distance (about a mile) to downtown Newberg. Staff did't know much about local eateries and there was no literature in the lobby about the huge region of wine tasting. But you can find that information just about anywhere else in the area. Decent, basic hotel experience.
We were traveling thru coming down from Alaska on our way back to Wisconsin and decided to take a break from the RV and stoppedat best Western. We are happy we chose it! Clean, Spacious & handy to get to. We are able to get our laundry done there as well.
We recently had a 2-day stay at the Newberg Inn while on a Western vacation. We were impressed with the size of the rooms and and quality of the furniture. The bathroom was, however, a bit tight. The pool and laundry facilities were excellent.
Andrea and Rosa were very helpful, and made 2 great stays perfect by extending gracious hospitality and a sincere effort to provide world - class service. We are so glad that we stayed here, and hope to visit again. Both of our stays were perfect. Thank you, Andrea and Rosa!
We were in Newberg for a night before attending an event at George Fox University. Best Western seemed to be the best option from reading the online reviews. We requested a non-smoking room and when we walked into our room, it reeked of smoke. When we returned to the front desk, the receptionist apologized profusely and promptly gave us another room. Our room was on the second floor and there is not an elevator, so if hauling your luggage up stairs is an issue, be sure to request a ground floor room. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean. We were pleased that there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Wi-fi is included in the room rate. Breakfast is provided and offers the usual: cereal, breads and pastries, waffles, fresh fruit (banana, Apple, orange), yogurt, coffee, tea, juice. The hot food available the day we were there was biscuits and gravy. Really? Does anyone really eat biscuits and gravy for breakfast? I would have liked to see scrambled eggs, bacon and/or sausage. If you want other quick and inexpensive breakfast options, Starbucks is a short walk and McDonalds is just a bit further down the road. Hwy 99 is a main business corridor and there are plenty of your typical franchise dining options as well as grocery and drug stores to meet any needs that arise. If we had a need to return to Newberg, we would likely choose the Best Western again.
The room was spacious, air conditioner wasn't on when we checked in, it was quite hot. Seemed to be clean and neat. Convenient location for our needs. It was nice they had a grab and go back when we left early at 6:00 a.m. It was a banana, water and a bar.
The Newberg Inn isn't fancy, but it's clean, comfortable, and convenient for me when I visit family in Newberg. Even though it's on a busy highway, the rooms are quiet, and the offstreet parking is convenient and secure. The indoor pool is small, but very clean. The water is a comfortable temperature for grandmas and grandchildren!
Typical accommodations for Best Western, neither top of the line nor bottom of the barrel. Satisfactory for the purpose - which was a place to stay for the night. Hotel was at capacity, but staff was able to deal with it effectively.
This hotel was just what you'd expect. It was clean, comfortable, and had all that we needed for a nice stay. The breakfast had a good variety of food and the breakfast area was nice. The staff was helpful in directing us to local restaurants and locations.
The hotel is in good condition, with clean albeit meager rooms. However, the bed is comfortable, the pillows soft, and the room is sufficient. WiFi is free. There is a whirlpool, indoor pool, an exercise room and free breakfast. I pointed out that the shampoo dispenser didn't work, and the front desk attendant offered to decrease my room rate! Completely unnecessary, but just showing they cared. I was using the exercise room (an elliptical trainer and treadmill only), and one of the staff walked in and turned on the air conditioning so I wouldn't be too hot! While in the whirlpool, one of the staff walked over with towels. When eating breakfast, as a vegetarian, I asked about eggs, and she immediately brought out hard boiled eggs to make up for the bacon in the omelettes! There is a fridge, microwave and coffee service in the room. No closet, but a large hanging space. Overall, amazingly friendly and helpful staff.
I know this may sound petty but we arrived at the hotel without a reservation and got one onsite. However, as soon as we checked in and went up to the room we discovered most of the TV channels didn't work, including the major networks. Normally we wouldn't care that much but that particular night we wanted to watch the season finale of one of our favorite shows. The receptionist could have...should have...told us about the TV problem before we checked in. I felt that was pretty sneaky. Later on I heard another guest complaining about the TV because he wanted to watch a sports game--he decided to check out the next day and go to another hotel. Other than the TV situation, the hotel is clean, well maintained and I was impressed by the public areas.
The hotel was nice, the service was very good. The TV did not work. When I reported that to the front desk the lady said they were having problems and were replacing the TV service provider. Loud noises outside the door of our room in the middle of the night and a loud bang above us woke us with a start about 3AM. The breakfast was OK..
I was super apprehensive about staying here because of the negative reviews. I was VERY pleasantly surprised however! This is a very nice hotel! It is clean and the customer service was great! It is on the road, so ask for a back room if you are a light sleeper. The only negative thing I encountered was that the yogurt I picked up for breakfast was past date and spoiled. Thankfully I noticed before I ate it! Otherwise all was good and we will definitely be staying here again.
Great staff! Very clean and close to a lot of places. Clean property. Got a really good value for what was paid. Breakfast was always stocked and pool area very well kept as well. I would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay, it was quiet and the beds where firm ( you didn't sink into the mattress like other hotels) and the air conditioner was cold it went down to 60 with fan speeds of low medium high it was over 90 that day. The breakfast was great and if you have pets it's pet friendly.
My family enjoyed the pool and spa while we stayed here waiting to go to the drive-in theater down the road. This is a nice quiet place to stop and spend a few days at.There is so much to do around town the front desk recommended a great park for the kids to play at.
There are not many accomodations available in the heart of Willamette Valley. We had no choice so had to stay here. Upon arrival we were pleasant surprised that the quality of this hotel is pretty much like any other Best Western hotel and the breakfast was good.
Our first place of choice when visiting our daughter at George Fox University. Short drive to campus. Popular place with parents so it fills quickly during special events. Book early to get a spot. But not too early in case we need a room.
There were many different families staying in this hotel together. The girls most favorite thing is to swim after playing softball all day. The front desk lady was so very kind and opened up their breakfast room Saturday night so the girls and us could eat our take out pizza together. Thank you! Hood River Heat 10U Team
I have stayed at many fine hotels and some decent motels, in my life. (We've stayed at the Embassy Suites, the Hilton, the Westin, in Seattle Washington, The French Quarter Inn, in Charleston, SC and the Bellagio in Las Vegas, etc. all expensive, and all known for being "The Best of The Best".) In my humble opinion, The Best Western Newberg Inn, in OR. should be listed as one of the best as well! We came to the Oregon area for cataract surgery for my son at the Casey Eye Institute. We spent a horrible first night at a Super 8 in OR. (I belong to the Wyndham Hotel rewards program, and normally we would have stayed at a Wyndham property the whole time that we were in Portland, which was 4 days 3 nights.) Unfortunately, there wasn't a Wyndham property in the Tigard area, where we had an early follow-up appointment. After the experience we had at the Super 8, I'm glad they didn't have a property in the area! We decided on a Best Western, since it was much closer to where we needed to be for the early morning appointment. Beth (the night shift) at the Front Desk was the best. When I made the reservation I forgot to mention that my son was disabled and in a wheelchair, (being only a 2 Story Hotel, there was no elevator) therefore we needed a ground floor room. Beth was wonderful and worked hard to find us one. We checked in late because the surgery and recovery ran longer than we expected, so we were tired and stressed out, and needless to say, I wasn't thinking straight by that point. Beth made us feel welcome, and was extremely patient with me, even when I couldn't think of the make, model or licence plate of my Van. That night, after having slept very little at the Super 8, the night before, I ended up staying up all night to make sure my son didn't remove the protective lenses from his eyes, and after the early appointment, we requested a second night, since we were still so tired. Andrea (the morning shift at the front desk) was very accommodating. Jean was working in the continental breakfast room. The free continental breakfast was amazing. They had a variety of breads, including bagels with cream cheese, toast, mini muffins, and danishes. Biscuits and gravy, a make make your own waffle stand, with various toppings/mix ins. Bananas, apples, and oranges. Real oatmeal, cooking in a crock pot (not instant packages) also with a variety of toppings/mix ins. Frittatas with cheese, ham and veggies in them, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, breakfast cereals and the first day, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. The second day, they had breakfast burritos. (When I asked I was told that they like to switch it up so that you don't get the same thing if you stay more than one night.) Jean was so sweet and extremely helpful, (just like the rest of the staff!) She kept the room stocked, and clean, and even asked if there was anything she could get/do for us. It was better than some of the restaurants I've eaten at. I can honestly say I have never met a nicer, more attentive, or more professional crew in my life. We ended up checking out late because we were still so tired the next day, that it was difficult to wake up and get moving. Andrea gave us even more time to get packed and clear out of the room then we had originally requested. The beds are comfortable the rooms were very clean, the food and staff were above and beyond my expectations, and the price was very reasonable too. All of the staff were amazing! But I especially wanted to compliment Beth, Andrea and Jean! And even though we were right beside highway 99, there was no noticeable traffic noise, or even noise from the other rooms. If we are ever in the Tigard/Newberg area again, we will stay at The Best Wester Newberg Inn again! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Family vacationers, business travelers, anyone who needs a room, for any reason. You will not be disappointed.
After driving 400 miles it was time for a rest! The Best western had the accomodations that we needed. It was a very nice place. It was quiet, and everything was close at hand. The pool and Jacuzzi was great! The kids had a great time.
What a nice little oasis in Newberg for me and my dog. We were attending a k9 performance event and needed a place to lay our head. This place was perfect and made the weekend extra special for Winston and I. He liked the grassy area out back and our comfy room.
I travel a lot and am typically happy with Best Western and very happy with Best Western Plus properties. This was no exception. Breakfast was better than usual with a few more options and more fresh fruit. There were no surprises and no disturbances.
Everyone we communicated with during our stay was kind and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and surprising quiet, considering the traffic on the main street. Food and shopping are conveniently near the hotel.
Watch your credit cards at this location. There should never be a reason for an employee to steal credit card information while a guest is staying at the facility. It happens, but maybe the company should vet their employees a little better.
Very clean well maintained facility. Rooms perhaps a little spartan but comfortable and quiet. The location is on the southern side of Newberg and was perfect launching spot for touring wine country. The breakfast was very nice with a good assortment of food items for all types of palates.
Very spacious king room with small sitting area, fridge and microwave. Clean and comfortable. I could have used a couple extra bath towels in the room. Indoor pool, jacuzzi spa and sauna. Breakfast was nice with eggs and biscuits and gravy...and all the other continental items you are used to seeing. Friendly staff.
Great place to stay just one thing, that if you need TV don't be surprise if it doesn't work. Everything else is great as well as area. All I needed was great internet and that did work great. I hope next trip to town TV works better and will than I will give a perfect review.
I have stayed in several Best Western motels all over the country. This one is the worst one by far. I have stayed here 3 times and I complained to the management each time and nothing was ever done to remedy the problems. My son works at George Fox University and so having a dependable place to stay is important so that I can visit my grandchildren. The first time I was there, they were doing some remodeling and breakfast room and halls were full of construction debris and blockages that were dirty and unsafe. The second time, I stayed, the smell of flea bomb was stifling in the halls and lobby. I complained about the dreary windowless, dark breakfast room and the very poor selections every visit. The last time I was there, the noise from other guests and barking dogs made sleeping very hard. I wrote and talked to management about my complaints each time, but when I returned, the problems were never fixed. Bad management.
Comfortable bed. My wife and I both had a good nights sleep. Only complaint was the breakfast. No room to sit down and too hot in the room. The clerk was very helpful in selecting a restaurant to eat at.
Fire alarms went off twice during the night and the bathroom cleanliness was lacking (hair on the counters and shower). Beds were comfortable, pillows too small. Given that there aren't a lot of options in Newberg, overall a decent place to sleep that could be a little better.
Best Western in Newborn has been our "go-to" hotel for many years, when visiting family. Since it opened, it has set the bar in this locale for hotels. Once again, this location has met our expectations.
I've come here several times to stay while visiting my daughter in college. I have Always had wonderful service! The hotel has been newly redecorated, newly painted and new furnishings. I Highly Recommend this particular Best Western (and most I've been to for that matter)
Clean, relaxing rooms. Close to many places to eat and shop. Perfect for walks in the rain :0) I always look forward to staying here when visiting my daughter. She attends George Fox University, just graduated, and lives in Newberg. A perfect little town for visiting.
this is an older hotel where we have stayed in the past. This time the hotel was better kept and cleaner. Looks like it has been remodeled recently. last time, which was several years ago my wife had an asthma attack there because someone had been smoking in the room and they had used a spray to try and make things smell better. This trip it was like a different hotel. very clean and much better kept. We would use it again.
This was our first time staying in an Oregon Best Western. we chose this hotel for its location to our visit. and the price was fair. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a friendly and helpful person. Our Room was quiet and amazing, comfortable king size bed. and great amenities. We will definetly stay here again.
Just stayed for one night. Wine tasting in the area so came in late and left early. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and adequate in size. The breakfast area was clean, spacious and well attended. Very good selection of food items, and very friendly staff.
The Newberg Inn is a great hotel in Newberg. The beds are comfortable, breakfast is decent, but the things that really stands out is the genuine friendliness of the staff. Everyone we encountered was so pleasant. It was a pleasure to stay here.
great place to stay, clean quite, very helpful staff. stayed for visit with family, very close to restaurants and shopping. Thought the price was high but bed was comfortable, room was huge. Newberg is boyhood home and college town of Herbert Hoover former president of the USA.
I was pleasantly surprised by this moderate hotel. It's an older property that is not at all fancy but has been nicely updated. Our generously sized room toward the back of the motel was exceptionally clean and very quiet, with no noise from the main street in front. The bed was firmer than I prefer, but not uncomfortably so. Breakfast had more choices than is typical for this type of motel. The front desk staff was cheerful and and helpful. I'd stay here again.
We were upgraded to a three bed, suite. Unfortunately it was right by the highway. A lot of road noise. It didn't wake us up, but it was definitely noticeable when you woke up. It really never stopped. Other than that, the room was great! The hotel was Great!! Nice breakfast and free (good) coffee in the breakfast room. Very friendly staff.
Clean, nice amenities, EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATING staff! This hotel has all the amenities that one expects from a Best Western Hotel. It has an indoor pool, which I didn't use. The breakfast room is lovely, but I didn't notice a hot breakfast of eggs, etc. that other BW Hotels have, but then I didn't stay on a weekend day when many BWs have an expanded breakfast.
I stayed here a few days ago and was dismayed I had booked another Patel owned hotel. I travel a lot and my experience with Patel family owned hotels is that they are really bad about making sure things work (the ice machine on the first floor was broken) and the things aren't broken are of very poor quality (hard beds and TVs with very minimal channels). Thin blankets and no extras in the room (I froze the first night). The staff is very nice and the breakfast better than average, although it ends pretty early at 9:30 am, but that is all the good I can say about this place. When I went to leave the hotel after dark, there was no lighting on in the parking lot and it was very very dark (you needed a flashlight). Perhaps they hadn't changed their timers due to the time change, but that is an unsafe situation and reflects a lack of care and quality overall. I won't be staying here again.
excellent like new carpet, we had a very good enjoyable day and night there we to used the wi fi was slow but it work , they help us with any problem we had in getting started .The beds where great and restroom and bath facility where excellent.
The hotel was difficult to find. The furniture in the room was old, the mattresses were very uncomfortable and the carpet was stained. Overall cleanliness was questionable. We checked in late and was not informed that a free breakfast was offered. They stopped serving at 9:00 and we missed out. When told that we were not informed there was no response. The help at the front desk in both instances acted like they could care less that we were there.
We had a great stay. It was the second time I have stayed here - the first time, I wasn't too impressed with the cleanliness, but this time things were very clean. We got a discount for visiting our daughter at George Fox University. We will stay here again.
Clean rooms and friendly people. We were dissatisfied by the highway noise in our room, which was toward the front of the hotel building. We had asked to be away from the road but they were unable to accommodate that request. Breakfast is okay.
The Staff at Newberg Best Western was amazing and so considerate on my first visit to the location. I wanted to let others know of their skill and compassion. The day I called, I had great info and While going their for a Doctors procedure they were kind and compassionate and preassigned a room I asked for. Staff greeted me in the hallways. And the desk and GM Shalini were Outstanding! Thank You to everyone who was so supportive and friendly! - Andy
Really recommend this hotel. It's in a great location just outside Dundee Hills wine country and within walking distance of some good restaurants. It has a nice big indoor pool and sauna, it's pet friendly and has a nice big clean area in the back of the property for your pet and also had a good breakfast with lots of choices including eggs and breakfast burritos. The entire staff was terrific and went out of their way to be polite and helpful. Much appreciated when you're traveling.
Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and a breakfast buffet like no other Best Western! If you enjoy a variety of morning foods this is the place to eat. Breakfast room staff was very efficient and friendly.
The building is older but maintained well. Simple and clean. We had a room with 2 queen beds, which is a good size even for sharing with 3 adults. All the staff are very friendly and helpful! Convenient location to the good restaurants in downtown Newberg/Dundee and the wineries. Access to the hotel is a bit difficult if making a left turn during heavy traffic since it is on a major road.
Good value for the price. Be aware; no elevator if you are on the second floor. Very clean and inviting. Quiet and close to the wine country. We would stay again. Access to the hotel is easy and rooms are large.
The Best Western Newberg Inn in Newberg, OR was just as advertised. Good location, good breakfast. We certainly appreciated the helpful staff. It was comfortable and convenient for us to visit family.
Staff was friendly and helpful, room well furnished and ample space, facilities very clean, and the breakfast was very good.In Oregon and this pretty part of the world to visit daughter and grandchildren. We'll be back!
We stayed for 5 nights, used the pool and hot tub, and breakfast facilities. Service was good and unobtrusive. Room was in good condition with all facilities working. Our room had a suite type layout with a partially divided living area and bed area. Shower water was warm regardless of the the time of morning. Breakfast was non-restaurant standard but that was what we expected. All in all it was a good place to base from to see Willamette valley wineries.
The property was a nice Best Western centrally located in the Dundee Hills wine country. Although our room was right above the lobby and near the street it was quiet and pleasant. The gentleman that checked us in, Jacob, was very nice and helpful. There was some remodeling going on so the breakfast area was a little crowded but otherwise a decent place to stay when all the B & B's in wine country are full.
This hotel is a super value for a great quality place to stay. The staff are authentically nice, helpful and professional; the rooms and other spaces are immaculate; the bed is the best to sleep on (I need one for home!), and the internet connection is fast and free. There are several Oregon wineries nearby, as well as terrific horse countryside. I stay there at least a couple of times/year when I travel through for annual meetings nearby.
