Best Western Hotel McKenzie, Mckenzie

This motel is very clean and emaculate! Very nice and quiet stay! My partner and I loved it here at the Best Western here in McKenzie Tennessee! We will definitely come back this summer to try out the outdoor swimming pool!

Thank you for your review. We try to provide clean and comfortable stays for our guests. This last year our pool was closed due to Covid-19, so call before you come just for the pool. We would be glad to have you again at any time.

The room had an odor and hard beds. The room I reserved was to have been a king size bed but because we had pets that room was an allergy room so we was moved to a room with two double beds that was the size of two twin beds.

I am sorry that you had to move to another room. I'm sure it was very inconvenient, but we have guests that come and are very allergic to any pet dander so we keep some rooms pet free. I am sorry that we did not have a king room available for you to be put into. Please accept our deepest apologies.

We stayed here for Bethel University Graduation. It was soooooo clean. I had been so stressed since you never know. The bed had white crisp sheets,bathroom was immaculate. Staff was so nice. 4 star in my opinion. I have stayed in way more expensive places and had to clean first.

Thank you for your review. Thank you for the 4 star rating. You're right on the nose about our property. It was constructed in 1990's. We keep it well maintained and clean and we try to provide great hospitality even with our limitations of the virus still impacting the U.S. We do have restutaunts open nearby. We hope that you come back for a visit.

My two night stay at Best Western was easy and uneventful. The staff was courteous and attentive, quickly responding to the one thing I asked about. The room and common areas were furnished well and clean during my visit. I did not have the occasion to use the pool during this visit. My he bed was comfort plenty of good quality linens were provided. I stayed in room 201 with no issues. The toad noise might be an issue for you, so I suggest using a white sound machine app while you sleep.

Best Western McKenzie is very clean and a great place to stay if you are in the area. They have free internet and breakfast. The rooms are clean and spacious. The beds are comfortable with clean linens. They have several channels available for TV options.

The rooms are very clean with all the amenities in the room. They recently renovated the lobby and have spacious Breakfast area. The internet was also pretty good in the room. It was pretty quite at night for good sound sleep. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting in this area.

I was there for my graduation and the hotel served the purpose. I did not eat breakfast but my children were pleased with the selections. Overall good stay and I believe there were no other hotels in this area.

You have to know McKenzie before you compare. Everything I got in McKenzie, I got in the bigger cities at a bigger cost. I was in McKenzie with family. Therefore I was not looking for "Bells and Whistles" Extremely clean rooms, employee's courteous, area was quite. This is only hotel in McKenzie. They seem to operate like they have competition.

THANK YOU for the review. You hit it on the head! We do our best to keep the hotel clean and the atmosphere pleasant for our guests. We are comparable to a hotel 20 miles away. But if you want to stay in McKenzie, we are the diamond in the rough.

I am from Chicago and was driving to visit some of my friends. I ended up staying at the Best Western McKenzie and I was very pleased with my stay here! Hotel looks well maintained on the exterior, rooms were clean, and staff was very accommodating a kind! Will stay here again!

The rooms were clean, and the bed very comfortable. The free breakfast left a lot to be desired. Only two tables to sit at, and the food consisted of biscuits and gravy, waffles, packaged rolls, cereal and your breads. The biscuits and gravy were luke warm, and the waffles ice cold. For a clean comfortable place to stay this is it, but dont expect a good breakfast.

Thank you for your review. We do also serve sausage patties and egg patties to go with the biscuits on alternate days of our sausage/gravy with biscuits. Everything else is required by Best Western Core breakfast. It is a continental breakfast that we serve with a couple of hot items. I am sorry that your gravy was lukewarm. What would you have like to see on a continental breakfast? We want to WOW our guests when they are here!

We Had reserved rooms at another hotel down the road long story short it was disgusting. Three things were going around in the area, hotels were full but the one we booked. Best Western was a life saver, in the fact they had one room left. Very clean, curteous, and quiet. Breakfest was awesome.

Check in was very quick and easy. Desk clerk was very friendly and recogcnized my Diamond Select status. My preference of 1st floor closest to lobby was hired as well. I was offered a choice of snack or bonus points choosing points. Location is on main road and easy to find and near several restaurants. Room was very comfortable and an excellent value.

This is a small Best Western,so, sometimes rooms are not available (College Town). Suggest booking in advance if possible. Lobby area was under rehab, but, when finished, will be a big improvement from what it was in the past. Very excellent staff that seems to want happy and return guests. This is the place to stay if you are going to be in the area.

We have been doing some remodeling and it does update our property some. We are a small hotel and are set on providing clean rooms with "Southern Hospitality". Thank you for the 5 star!

The hotel was convenient, reasonably priced. Check in was quick, clerk friendly. Room very clean, looked recently remodeled, nicely decorated. Breakfast was the usual, clean, good, a lot of choices. They are remodeling so there are areas that aren't perfect but I assume it will be soon. Some congested areas but that will only be temporary. I would return and recommend.

I was greeted by a friendly staff and enjoyed a comfortable room. I had a good desk to get some work done and the bed was very comfortable. They also provided some good restaurant advice and helpful directions. Very pleased with the stay.

Staff has very good knowledge of Rewards Policy. When you were asked for a number for your rewards travel card, you could not provide it. The breakfast room is small but our breakfast is enjoyed by many of our guests. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy our sausage gravy but many of our guests request it. Our rooms are cleaned daily and the property is inspected at least 3 times a year, with outstanding scores. I'm not sure why you had a difficult time while staying with us, we do hope that the next visit to a hotel will be a better experience.

Mrs. Margie was a wonderful help. She was able to help us with different needs that we had. The location is perfect. It is real close to the college which our son is attending. She was able to answer any and all questions that we had.

I had a very good stay at this hotel. It was priced right, the staff was helpful and friendly, the room was clean, and the pool was clean as well. There was always parking near my room. The only thing I didn't like was that was a musty smell when you entered the room. It wasn't a dirty smell, just like it hadn't been opened up for a while. I stayed here last year as well while in town for a basketball camp and will stay here again next year!

It probably hadn't been opened in a day and with the humidity and the ac going it could have the musty smell. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This was my worst travel experience of my entire adult life. I have never had a hotel be so overpriced, careless and genuinely rude. I have had issues in the past with the Best Western brand, this experience is the nail in that coffin. My wife and I had stayed in multiple hotels over the last week while we were traveling, from dive to amazing. And have stayed in over 150 hotels Nationwide from all different brands with very little issue. We can roll with the punches pretty well. First of all the check in process took far too long. And the attendant was rude and seemed annoyed with our business. The room was run down and dirty. Dead bugs all over the tops of the air conditioner and window, that were obviously there for a long time. The room itself smelled musty. But at this point my wife and I were exhausted and would have slept about anywhere. Twice the power to our room went out. Once while we were eating and another in the middle of the nigt. We had gotten up for a while and decided to take a nap for a bit before making our long trek back home. Suddenly the fire alarms are going off loud enough to drown out my wife and I talking 5 feet apart. I threw my pants on and stumbled outside thinking there was a fire. One of the workers is laughing and says "just a test sir." The alarms continue to go off for the next 45 minutes. Absolutely no warning that this was going to happen. Not told upon arrival or day of, nor a call. Nothing. It was said this was an every Monday thing the place does, which is either a lie or they are just too stupid or ignorant not to mention it. We packed up in 5 minutes and left. We got gas across the street and you could still hear the alarm clear as day all the way across the street it was that loud. This hotel was overpriced for a fantastic stay, much less for all this to happen.

I want to apologize that you did not have a good stay. We have never had a guest so unhappy with their stay.

Smelly rooms, humidity overwhelming, carpet and bedding and towels etc wet from humidity. Bring your own pillows, towels, and pray. Just do not expect anything great here and you will not be disappointed. Be prepared for the worst and hope for better

We are sorry that you did not have a good stay. The humidity is something we try to control with the air conditioner. The air conditioner was on high at very low temperature, this seems to make the room feel wet!

every thing at this motel was fine,enjoyed it ,,,,,i was checking out with becky very nice lady,and asked her is he suppose to be in here,the breakfast room,it was a homeless man,she said oh yes church put him up for the nite,ok fine,i went in the small breakfast room,it smelled of filth ,terrible if the church is going to do this they should make sure he has a shower and clean cloths,becky came and sprayed lysol ,i hope the bedroom was completly laundered,bad for best western buisness in my opinion

Yes, our rooms are completely cleaned after every guest, with extra care taken to rooms that have an odor in them, no matter who stayed. We offer clean, clean smelling rooms for our guests. I was in McKenzie for one night. This Best Western is definitely an older building with a relatively small number of rooms. A friendly and efficient manager checked us in. While probably not recently decorated, my room was CLEAN, pleasant, spacious, with all the conveniences most travelers need (WiFi, refrigerator, microwave, iron & ironing board, generous number of towels & cost hangers). Just about totally booked that night, yet quiet. The breakfast room was indeed small, but the breakfast offerings were good: muffins, bagels, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, waffles, juice, coffee. Nearby McDonalds. We ate breakfast at Bobby Gee down the road, a delightful restaurant with 50s theme.

Wonderful place really clean, great breakfast. Friendly staff. Loved the sausage and biscuits at breakfast. Room was good beds are amazing, slept really good. Every room has a fridge, microwave, and 32 inch TV.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel is basic, but definitely met my needs & I would stay in it again. My room had a recliner, which was very nice to sit in while eating dinner and watching tv. The bed was just ok, but I realize that I am a very picky sleeper & the mattress would be just fine for most people. Yes, the breakfast room was very small, but they provide trays to be able to take your food back to your room and eat. Normal hotel breakfast, pastries, fruit, biscuits, gravy, juice, coffee etc. There are only two things that I would suggest changing. The room I stayed in could really use a new shower head, and I would strongly suggest putting in curved shower rods if possible.

I had to be in McKenzie for a TOH motorcycle ride. It was getting late and being unfamiliar with the area I decided to spend the night. There were limited options, I chose the Best Western. Staff person was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. A flat screen TV, but the picture was compressed, why I don't know. National chain and local restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast area is very small and has a limited selection, there was a table outside, but the smokers were sitting there. Overall, I would stay here if I'm ever in the area again.

Although this Best Western is small it is a great place to stay! We were visiting our daughter at UT Martin, and the location is within 30 minutes from the campus. The beds were very comfortable and even though we only stayed one night, we would stay more if needed.

Came in for a reunion and I realize this is small town, but this is probably one of the worst properties I have stayed at. If this is the best this town has I shudder to think what the other places are like. The breakfast room is a closet. The furniture is old. This is not a very old property. That the crap!!!!! NEVER AGAIN. Definitely not Worth the money.

Yes, the breakfast room is very small, but the original design of the hotel was not intended to serve breakfast. We plan on remodeling the breaskfast room and the guest rooms in late fall/early winter. We hope that you will come back and visit us again to see our changes.

I stayed one night here on my way down to Shiloh battlefield. I did my reservation online and paid online as well. Reception was friendly and courteous. Answered all my questions. The room was OK, not spectacular, but it was comfortable. I thought the carpet could use a good cleaning. The door had a large gap at the bottom and it seemed a bit jiggly, the door didn't close firmly shut. I pushed a chair in front of it and had no issues. Other than, that the room was fine. Not much noise here and I was able to peacefully sleep. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Plenty of hot water. The breakfast room is super small and had standard continental items and coffee to go. I paid $91 for the room including tax. I would stay here again if I needed a room. The place has favorable reviews, so that is why I picked it.

The rooms were very clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful. the bed and pillows were nice to sleep on. I would have preferred a ground floor but none was available. ample parking in the lot next to the motel as I was pulling a trailer on this trip. I can't tell you about the breakfast as I am up and out before 6am.

We were in town to visit friends and we researched several hotels in the area. Many were full in Paris and there just wasn't a large selection to choose from that were nearby. We decided to try this and it turned out to be recently remodeled and the rooms were very nice. The breakfast is included and in a very small room near the office. We just took a tray and our breakfast back to the room. The price was good and we will definitely stay here again.

If in th area to visit with friends and family, this is not the place for you! They have a no pool or room visitors policy. They chatge $80 (with discount) for what is actually worth maybe $50.. Their continental breakfast leaves something to be desired. It is served in an area that maybe 3 people can eat in.

Thank you for reviewing our hotel. Our prices are competitive for our area, we check other hotel prices and we are not high on our price compared to our competitor. Our breakfast area is small and is scheduled to be remodeled in the fall this year, so that our guests are comfortable eating their breakfast. The size of the breakfast area does limit our breakfast offerings, but we have several items on our menu for the continental breakfast.

Excellent location and accommodation and excellent breakfast provided . Swimming pull is very good neat and clean. Employees talking in friendly nature and very cooperative. I will stay again again in my next visit in Mckenzie TN.

Nice clean, comfortable rooms with soft beds. Love the breakfast biscuits and gravy. Great office staff and owner. I will recommend this motel in the future to my friends. Our AARP rate was reasonable and we plan to use this property on future trips to the area.

Very Friendly staff, but my room could be better; especially the sheets. There were red stains on my sheet in one of the beds. Thankfully I had two beds to choose from. The breakfast was small and average. No elevators here so if you have luggage to carry upstairs you are in trouble.

Thank you for reviewing our hotel on Trip Advisor. I personally want to apologize for the stains on one of the sheets, this is not usually a problem. We are adament about throwing away the stained sheets. Our breakfast room is small and we have a plan to expand it this year. ONce again thank you for writing a review and bringing it to our attention.

The hotel overall is very clean! The receptionists were very polite and our rooms were excellent! The only thing that was not as great was the breakfast area. It is really small. But we were informed that it would be expanded soon. Very excellent experience!

While the hotel is a little older, the rooms are clean and tidy. Bed was comfy, tv and internet worked well, plenty of water pressure for a shower. The staff was great, and had good recommendations for things to do in the area.

Nice for older hotel but one of the towels looked like it had dip spit on it (not just a stain but actually pieces of dip in it) . Room needs new carpet, smells old and like it's been damp and smoked in a few times over the years. Shower head needs to be replaced as well. Besides those room had comfy beds,nice tvs , and good internet. For the area, I would probably stay in again.

The hotel staff was polite, and friendly. The room looked very tired. There were stains on the carpet and cloth chair. It is in need of a remodel, however the bed was comfortable. When we went down for breakfast at 8:30 we were both lucky and unlucky. Lucky there were no others in the room since it was so small more than two would have been a real crowd. Unlucky because there was very little left. Apparently there was no attendant for the breakfast room and nothing had been replenished. There was some coffee, so we can live off the fat of the land. Since there was no elevator the desk person did ask if we needed help with the luggage.

Our breakfast room is small but we do usually keep it stocked during breakfast. Please accept our apologies for our lack of attention on that matter. It has been spoken about. We are working on a bigger breakfast room and it be getting remodeled very soon.

Quality of this property exceeded expectations and will definitely stay here again. The only problem was the bathroom sink would not drain. But everything else was very good. The bathroom was newly remodeled and carpet was new. Bed slept very well and plenty of room with the exception of the bathroom.

The owners/managers were a delight to visit with and were overall very helpful and courteous. However, the breakfast room is too small to fit more than 2 individuals in and the bottom of our hotel room door had a large gap which made it somewhat noisy to rest.. Still we would stay with them again, but request a different room.

First of all, I get it, this is a small town. I am in town for Graduation at Bethel University, and this is the only "name brand" hotel in the area. Our room smells like mold, the toilet clogged, the seat twists and turns off the toilet basin, and the air conditioning doesn't work (on the day we checked in, the area had a heat advisory all day). I didn't bother calling the front desk because, at check in, the women who had helped me seemed rude and extremely judgemental (and I know all rooms are booked because of Graduation). We will be ending our trip early, mainly because I do not want to be in this room any longer than I have to. The "breakfast room" was the size of a closet, and offered biscuits and gravy, toast and oatmeal- nothing to write home about. Another graduate, staying at this hotel, said she found mold and mildew in her shower. This franchise does not represent the Best Western brand well. I would tell visitors to avoid it- even if that means booking a hotel outside of Mckenzie. In the end, we paid 260$ for what amounted to a one night visit. Definitely not worth it!

First of all, thank you for writing a review on trip advisor. We are sorry that your stay with us was not exceptional. Great service is not limited to a small town or a big city. We would like to apologize for the problems in your room. We're are sorry for any problems with the room but if it is not brought to the manager's attention, we can not fix them. Here at Best Western of McKenzie we try our very best to keep all the rooms clean and repair done. However, sometimes things are missed when one person leaves and the next arrives and for this we are very sorry. I was very upset when I read that some one at the desk was rude and judgemental, our front desk personnel have always been friendly. The breakfast room is small, but it is a continental breakfast. I'm sorry that you felt that you paid $260 for one night visit, but our rates are not that high.

You can tell these folks are trying to run a clean, efficient hotel. They seem to be conscientious in giving a good experience. Our room was clean and orderly--that's what one should expect. Front desk was friendly. The only negative is the size of the breakfast room--the smallest I have ever seen. Overall, the management is doing a good job in this small Tennessee town.

We stayed four nights and had a great stay. The room is very clean and comfortable and the staff here couldn't be beat, very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant stay. The breakfast has bisquits and gravy along with the basic continental breakfast.

We had a very nice overnight stay. Staff was very friendly & helpful including the cleaning staff. Hotel was very clean. Will definitely stay here again, in fact already have another reservation set up.

Each visit I see little things being done to make the property look and feel better and see staff that has now been there for awhile and that is getting better and better. Management is committed to doing things right.

Room was Clean. Hair Dryer. Flat Screen Tv. Good water pressure in Shower. Wall unit fan stayed on all the Time, which is Great. Comfortable Bed. The reason I didn't rate a four star was because of the Vending Machine. It was a Real Joke. Not much to choose from. Bring your Snacks!

Exceptionally friendly staff and exceptional breakfast, well beyond continental. Very clean. Incredible shower pressure. Only issue was some street noise but impossible to correct due to way structure is built. Price and other positives well made up for this.

I have chosen this property for numerous reasons: Convenience , very clean property, good staff and great owner. I have stayed here at least twenty times. I would advise anyone to stay at this Best Western for all the right reasons.

The room itself was great. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Great water pressure. The breakfast was the worst I have ever had at a hotel. The room was entirely too small and the food was old. The management at this hotel needs to work on this issue.

Clean -Close to HWY-Great helpful Staff .Good continental breakfast and super fast free internet service .I felt very safe at this Best Western Hotel .The property is well kept they have a beautiful pool at this location .Lots of Restaurants and shopping close by

I have never stayed at a hotel where the staff was so good at there job and so nice and polite. Everyone was completely wonderful. They were very understanding and kind my aunt died and they were very helpful with directions on how to get to the different places we needed to travel to and where we wanted to eat, so it made our stay much easier to be able to ask

I have stayed at this located multiple times over the course of the past several years. Mr. Patel and his experienced staff are a welcome pleasure after a long travel. The location is perfectly located, within the city.

This is the cleanest hotel up here. Everything is good, Except, these flag guys came in my last night. It sounded like they were tearing the place down. It sounded like they were slapping a woman around in both rooms. Rooms 210 & 212 was right above my room. It is really bad. I'm going to call the Police. With all of the cameras here one would expect the hotel to have someone watching when this kinda thing is going on. Now they are fighting . This is really messed up. It is so wrong when I have to get up in 5 hours and work for 14-19 hours of. Mark

If there is another guest disturbing your stay you should have contacted the night manager and reported it. We do have cameras that we can go back to if needed and the stop at the walkways, we do not invade privacy of our guests unless there is a need. This is a need when one guest disturbs the stay of another and if it had been reported, we would have talked to the rowdy guest. We do not condone the disturbance of our guests. If your stay is ever disturbed by another guest, no matter where you might be staying, please contact the manager on duty to get it taken care of. Again I apologize for your stay being disupted by another guest, I hope that you will give us another chance.

A quiet place in a small out of the way town. Came for leisure to visit family. Extremely satisfied with our stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will stay again when visiting family. It is a nice place to stay for leisure or business!

Super beds and pillows nice check in staff and quiet room. I travel and stay in many places and this for the price was a great deal. you can stay cheaper some place else but it really worth the extra few bucks for the level of service you get.

This is a very nice hotel in a small town. The room was clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are in town to visit Bethel University, this is the place to stay. I have stayed here 3 times and every stay was very good. Breakfast is not the best but the rooms have refrigerators so I brought my own milk and cereal.

This is more of a bargain chain motel with the outside entrance. Girl at check-in was friendly and helpful. I had reservation for a first floor king(no elevator to second floor) and was given a double handicap room. I was told that was all that was left. Room was fairly clean and the bed comfortable. Micro/fridge in the room but the fridge temperature knob was missing. The desk girl tried to find another knob, but another fridge didn't have one either. Had to guess which way to turn the pin to set the temp. (We were staying for 2 days). The bathroom had a small wall mounted sink with padding duct taped around the pipes underneath. Rubber stopper for the sink. Only a small shelf to put things on. The huge walk-in shower had a bench seat that was nasty. My husband folded it up out of the way. I think there were elephants living on the floor above. Not very soundproof. The carpet, which I thought was clean, until I looked at the bottom of my socks. (see pictures) I asked the manager how often they clean the carpets and he said every 6 months they are shampooed. Hello...if you don't get the soap out after shampooing, the soap attracts more dirt. I even showed him my dirty socks. We stayed 2 nights. Needed a place near Greenfield TN to visit with friends. I would not stay here again.

The room you were in was made for handicap accessiblity. This means the the bathroom was designed to have a wheel chair or walker in it. The shelf is smaller and the pipes under the sink are padded for protection. The shower bench is sanitized with bleach at each check out which makes it discolored a little. We do routine deep cleaning periodically. If a guest brings to our attention a problem, then we immediately fix it. So the carpet was deep cleaned again after you checked out. All the staff was very kind & made us & grand kids feel at home the week we were there. The couple of problems we had were taken care of promptly. The only complaint I might have is the room was a bit small for 2 beds in a handicap room which made it a bit difficult to maneuver with a walker or wheel chair. As was the breakfast room & check in area. I was told it is an older hotel & has recently been remodeled. It is a nice, friendly & accommodating place to stay. We will be back, Im sure. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in McKenzie, TN.

This is my second or may be third visit in this motel. I feel very friendly and home atmosphere. Good Breakfast and it is on road easy to in and out and in the middle of city. Generally I sued to stay in Choice group motel, but I like this motel excellent compare to others. I will stay again in my next visit.

The staff at this motel are very nice and seems to be concerned on my stay. Their housekeeper is very nice and the rooms are very clean. The lady is very nice at the front desk. The flowers are a very nice touch and they are very colorful.

It is too difficult to get good hotel in small town like Mckenzie, TN but our experience was excellent at Best Western, Mckenzie. Very quit place and room decor is very nice. The staff is very cooperative and breakfast was also beyond expectations.

This is the only brand motel in McKenzie. It is priced like a Best Western, but its appearance and amenities are like a bargain chain. The breakfast room had a double square table with 6 chairs, only 4 of which could be used because the table was pushed against the wall so people could use the aisle. The breakfast room was about the size of a bathroom. When we arrived, all seats were taken and items (juices, pastries) had not been restocked. The motel called me 2 days before my arrival asking me to call back and confirm my stay. That should not have been necessary since I booked it online with a credit card. The front lobby had 2 overstuffed love seats and barely room to stand in front of the check in desk. The clerk was sitting on one of the seats studying for her school exam.

I am sorry that you did not have a good stay. It is our policy to call and confirm reservations for guests, especially on busy days. I am sorry if this had upset you, sometimes guests forget to cancel and it does serve as a reminder of their reservation. The reception area of the hotel is a nice size for a small hotel. We do have one loveseat and one chair for the guests to use if the need to sit. There is plenty of standing room also. The breakfast room is extremely small and we are in the process of getting the okay to expand our breakfast room. With this being known, we have a tight space for breakfast with only 4 seatings and extra seatings on the outside for our guests use. When we do have several guests eating, we make a concious effort to refill items for our guests. Again, I am sorry that your stay was not as you expected , I hope you will give us a second chance to wow you. Thank you for staying at the Best Western.

My husand and I had to go to Huntindon, TN for a funeral. I found this hotel in the area. The hotel was easy to find, the staff and owner were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, and the room was CLEAN, super CLEAN. The bedding was very nice, and the towels were super soft. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you've stayed in enough hotels with rough towels, the super soft ones are appreciated.
