I rarely write negative reviews, but this property was very disappointing. This will be a fairly quick post. Room key would not open back door. We were three rooms in, and it is nearly 300 yards to the front door. Check-in staff said it must be a maintenance item. Short version, they know. Not sure what they're doing to repair it. Out of order: Soft drink machine, snack machine, and customer laundry. Internet was slow and dropped off. TV guide is fiction. Breakfast was not a problem, and the bed was quite comfortable.
I stayed a couple nights at this location for a quick weekend getaway. It is a relatively new property right off I-71 and very close to gas stations and restaurants. Overall, a very good stay! Room was quiet and clean and everything worked just fine. If I were to give a demerits on something it would be the shower. Wow. Talk about a full blown pressure washer! It was as if I was taking a shower in a car wash! Obviously I'd like to have some water pressure, but this was insane! The hotel GM says all rooms are like that and apparently most people like it. I find that a little hard to believe. But, the staff was great, breakfast had a decent selection, tasted great and location is good too. As of now, there is no swimming pool and it doesn't appear it will be open anytime soon. Keep that in mind if a pool is important when finding a hotel. If I ever find myself in La Grange again, I'll definitely consider booking at this Best Western again!
We have stayed here three times now. Always friendly, helpful personnel. Rooms are clean and spacious . It is convenient on and off the highway. Breakfast is good and has multiple choices. Of note, if you expect a pool it it closed. Definitely a good place to stay!
The room was not good as the bathroom tub had soap stains on it and I had to go get a rubber mat to take a shower. I would not recommend this hotel. Also when I checked in they assigned a room already occupied by someone. Had to go back to the office three times to get it fixed.
We booked this hotel as a crash pad between locations. We arrived here after a Red's game at approximately 11:30pm and were appalled by the overall condition of the hotel. It was NOTHING like the pictures we had looked at in the reviews. The lobby was dated, which was to be expected, but the room was DISGUSTING. There were yellow stains all over the bedding, dust and bugs built up in the corners of the rooms, and the air conditioner was CAKED with dirt/bugs/dust. We only needed to sleep here approximately 8 hours, and it was so dirty, that we left and drove 20 minutes to another hotel. I am currently in the process of working with my credit card company for a refund (Booked with points, unfortunately!), but... refund or not, there was no way we wouldve slept in that room! Regardless of if you need it for a few nights or a few hours... DONT DO IT! We only managed to take a few pics (since it was nearing midnight!) but I have included those here!
The name says it all BEST Western. Extremely clean hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed our remarkable stay with them
Hotel was older but updated. Nice out of the way location but had walmart, gas station, and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.
We found the hotel easily. We liked being on north side of town as we headed north. Plenty of parking. The room was clean and well appointed.
Just disgusting. Shoes stick to the carpet. Bathrooms are gross. One of the side doors to the parking lot is broken. Breakfast was plentiful - simple but adequate. Tables and chairs were dirty. The whole place needs a good cleaning.
The room was clean but it had a musty smell when we went in. I thought it would go away after turning on the heat and the fan. We left for supper and when we came back the smell was still there. In fact every time we came back to the room we were hit with that musty smell. If we had planned to stay longer than just one night I would have asked for a different room. The breakfast was good and the staff is friendly. No complaints there. But they need to check the filter in the heater or something to get rid of that smell.
Be careful, this hotel might not give you BW points. They will say that they will but then they don't. There are plenty of BW's that always give points so I won't be going here anymore. Besides, this place is a hole with a weak breakfast. I'm going to recommend to all in my organization to avoid this place.
Room was spacious and clean. Right off highway. I didn't eat breakfast but looked at it and looked like nice assortment of fruit, breads, eggs, bacon and waffles. Front desk clerk super helpful and kind.
Told to use public bathrooms. We are close to 70 years old, not the same needs as younger guest. Told they would furnish a plunger? Not willing to take that responsibility we declined. We felt a working toilet was part of the deal !! Were we wrong?
Excellent customer service, room was great. Beds are fantastic as always, not many hotels put that extra care in a mattress. Been coming to ashbury inn for 20 years or so, Breakfast was good and fresh.
We stayed here for a Farm Show in Louisville The hotel was clean and quiet even though near the interstate . There is a Waffle House. Walmart .Cattlemans steak house and a Mexican Resturaunt all within 2 minutes of this hotel The breakfast was served hot and had ample room to eat Check in was a breeze and Staff was friendly The hotel was about 20 min from the convention center/ fair grounds in Louisville where farm machinery show was
You will not be disappointed if you have the staff I had. Right from the time I entered to check in, the lobby was spotless and I was greeted by a wonderful young lady who had just started a week prior. I would guess that the entire team is trained the same way. The breakfast was a standard breakfast, which was good. The room was very clean as well.
I stay in hotels all the time for my job for long periods of time and I would highly recommend this place for anyone to stay. The entire staff are great people very friendly, knows what they're doing and willing to go out of their way to help. Great place to stay
We only spent one night here on our travels. The room was surprisingly big, which was great. The shower & commode were in their own room, and the sink and counter were right next to the sleeping area. This didn't work out so well when I needed to use my water pic when my wife was already asleep in bed. The hallway was quite noisy in my room when kids were in the hallway - as if my door was open. Luckily - the kiddies were not around after dinnertime. This hotel has a big breakfast area, but at this point we were tired of eating other hotel breakfast offerings, so we walked next door for real eggs at a Waffle House. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. It was clean, the beds were good, the staff was friendly, and they honored my first-floor room request (which surprisingly most hotels do not)
The hotel was dirty, the room was never cleaned or made up for all 3 days of our stay even after repeated requests. The area hotels were booked up if not I would have left. To make the room bearable I had to go next door to Walmart and buy an air purifier. The room smelled like dirty bodies and was Very dusty. I thought by the third notification they would have cleaned the room. But no they did not. The desk people were clueless and incompetent. Their excuse! The elevator was not working! Although with good all over the floor the elevator worked for us. DO NOT STAY THERE! It was disgusting!
We had an easy check-in. Our room was spacious, clean, and the bed very comfortable. Everything was in working order and no problems with wi-fi. Breakfast items plentiful and was fresh and good. Would stay here again.
Clean room, comfortable beds. Staff very friendly. Easy check in & out. We needed an overnight stop, served the purpose. Highly recommend going downtown, esp if the shops are open, but definitely eat at One Nineteen Main Street. A small town restaurant with a gourmet chef, wonderful staff & service, and unique menu items at a good price.
Fantastic hotel stay for an affordable price! I have stayed at the Best Western Ashbury in La Grange KY several times and have been very satisfied with the quality and value provided. My most recent stay on 8/26/2023 had an added bonus - the hotel and rooms have been recently updated, so everything was even more clean and fresh!
This was our overnight stop on the way from Tennessee to West Virginia. It was clean, good A/C, great water pressure! Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Coffee was ready early. This was definitely a good stop.
Our favorite Best Western! Everyone is nice and friendly. Nicole was very helpful. We stop here about 3 times a year when we drive from Texas to Ohio. The room is always clean and spacious. There's an excellent breakfast in the lobby. No complaints -- definitely our favorite.
The manager said that the website showed the pool as unavailable - no, it didn't/doesn't. When they say "high-speed" internet, they must be comparing it to 1990s dial-up because <1.0Mbps is not "high speed" in this day and age. The beds were harder that I would have preferred, but what made the stay unbearable is the fact that we had upset kids due to the pool closure and no way to entertain them because the local attractions closed within an hour of our arrival and the internet was terrible. The only things keeping this from being a terrible rating were somewhat friendly staff and a decent free breakfast.
Cleanest and best smelling hotel I stayed at on the last day of a 9 day road trip. It was refreshing. Breakfast was just standard but they did have bacon which is always a plus. Stayed just one night but I wish we had a room this nice our whole trip. Paid double this most nights and the hotels couldn't even compare to this place. Great place for the value. Clean and smelled great!
We were only there for one night but found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. The rooms were large enought that you had room to move around without bumping to one another. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and nice.
The beds are perfect as well as the pillows. I have stayed at the hotel over the past 16 years many times a year. They are under renovation right now to make things better and more up to date. My go to always. Nicole is wonderful and sees to your every need to make you happy and glad you stayed. Very feel good family type atmosphere.
The hotel was safe and clean. I loved having the coffee available in the lobby and the bed was comfortable. This is probably the best room I've had in the last 2 months. (Every weekend) It is definitely on my list for going back!
This was our second stay at this hotel having stayed there last year. We stayed there because it was pet friendly and basically clean. Last year we let things slide like the coffee machine wasn't working and it was only a mediocre hotel because the pandemic has affected all businesses. But this year there were no improvements and we won't be staying again.
Looks to be a fairly new hotel. Ever part of the hotel was well thought out and was in excellent condition. There are lots of dining options close to the hotel. It's also north of Louisville so you miss all the traffic while trying to find the place. I definitely will stay here again.
Booked this hotel in mid September for 2 nights through the Best Western website. I have stayed at other Best Western hotels and have never had a problem until now. I booked for 2 nights for a total bill of $219.×× with my corporate discount, which was the rate I have always used. I was immediately sent a confirmation email from Best Western that my reservation was confirmed. I checked in and later the first evening I looked at my credit card and seen that I was charged $280.×× for this reservation. How can that happen? I went to the desk immediately and questioned the lady about this and showed her the confirmation email that said my total said $219.××. She said that there was nothing she could do about it and to talk to the manager the next day. I explained everything to her and showed her the email from Best Western saying my total was $219.××. She immediately said we don't give corporate discounts and said that I must not of booked through Best Western. Then said the rate was for a member, $124 a night plus tax. I booked ,using my corporate rate and it was accepted, no problem. This location will not honor the rate I booked my stay for. Never again will I stay at another Best Western. I will also contact Best Western corporate with this too. Stay anywhere but Best Western, Lagrange, Ky.
We were traveling for a wedding. This hotel was convenient, clean, and the staff was very nice. The breakfast was very good and the dining area was nice and clean. Nicole was the drsk clerk and she was nice, friendly, and very knowledgeable of the area.
There where homeless or non guests present, the back door stays propped open because it is broken, 3 of our families where given keys to already occupied rooms. 1 out of the 4 desk members was very kind & helpful.
Poor customer service, besides one lady who had blonde hair and glasses. We had police called because of a rowdy bunch. We had 8 girls for basketball here and they saw a man with a gun and were very scared. We were never reassured that everything was fine or even compensated for anything that went on. We had some lady bang on our door claiming she was meeting someone. And we asked her to be removed but honestly shouldn't have been able to get in the building in the first place. Our bathroom tub didn't drain and when we told the front about it nobody did anything. So when we showered we had to stand in dirty water and then washed the tub out after. Overall this stay was terrible and would never recommend it to anybody
I stayed at this property in the past and my experience wasn't bad - just not very good. This trip has been a whole different story. Traveling as an older woman by myself, safety and security are paramount. I felt very comfortable during my entire stay. It started with the check-in. What a fabulous welcome! I was treated like a treasured, old friend coming for a visit. I was given room options which doesn't happen often in my experience. My room was clean and very comfortable. The bed was excellent. Sound levels were much better. I travel to La Grange quite often (sometimes with my husband) and this we will make this our go-to hotel.
We were told pool would be open it was not. The pillows in the room are tiny. Paper products are scarce only a partial roll of TP in the room. And when you request additional at the desk you would think that you had asked for the money in the till. Also, only 2 small towels in room.
Some of the walls were in need of repair, but everything was clean and breakfast was very nice. The check in was easy and luggage carts were readily available. Just need to fix the walls in the bathroom and it would be a 5 star review.
Stayed here for a family wedding. The front desk staff was extremely friendly. We had a leaking toilet in our first room - easily switched to a different room. The only downside to this location was they were extremely short handed with housekeeping staff. Our room was never serviced for our entire stay of 5 days. Had to beg some fresh towels from the desk. Thunder over Louisville was happening that weekend so that might have contributed to the pressure. But nice people go a long way with me... really liked the staff I interacted with.
Dated facility; clean room. Mattress was firm, but appeared by sight & sound to have seen its better days. Flat screen, HD TV. Excellent picture & extensive channel selection. Fridge/micro. Business center w/ 2 monitors. WI/FI connect lousy. Continental breakfast w/ good variety & selection. Included waffle iron. Facility right off I-71. Good Mexican restaurant behind hotel.
If you want to enjoy your sleep while your away from home this is one of the best hotels to do that wonderful breakfast nice people fitness area Just and overall wonderful experience my daughter and I had
La Grange (Best Western) has been our regular stopover location on our annual Snowbird trip tp Florida and back home trip to Canada. Always enjoyed our stay and the staff are terrific...we will be back again and again.
Exterior door locks to parking lot were standing open/could not be closed. Hotel room was fine, just a bit dirty/dingy and had a broken deadbolt so had to depend on the key lock which wasnt great given the aforementioned broken public facing door. Oh and they had these weird half pillows that were like the squares you see on a couch versus an actual bed pillow. It was all just sorta weird and dingy. If you are just crashing for the night its fine, no one died. Solid D-.
This hotel is very clean with nice staff. We were able to bring our dog with no issues. The hotel's location is less than a mile from Interstate 71, with a Waffle House right next to it. A few gas stations, a Walmart and a few restaurants within a minute or two.
The room was clean and inviting. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The breakfast options are more than adequate. We've stayed here several times and will continue to do so happily. Thank you Best Western!
Best Western hotels are our favorite. We prefer the Best Western Plus hotels, but this did not disappoint. From rooms to staff to grounds - all were much to our satisfaction. Would definitly stay here again.
This property shows a little age and needs some sprucing up, but my stay was comfortable enough. The room appeared to be scrupulously cleaned and the bed was comfortable. The location was very good for access to every place I needed to go. I didn't eat breakfast. It appeared to be the standard free breakfast one can get at any hotel anywhere. My only complaint was that I was awakened at 2 a.m. by loud snoring. This truly isn't something the property could help.
Very pleasant front desk staff. Not much of a breakfast - microwaved sandwiches. The coffee is horrible. Also, the parking lot is a little tight. There was some mold around the tub, but overall a nice stay.
I booked the hotel based on the Best Western name. I was disappointed by the staff, very unfriendly. There were people hanging in the parking lot partying and smoking late at night. The breakfast offerings were non existent. Management probably blames it on Covid, but I think it's just cheapness. I paid Best Western prices to stay at a Red Roof Inn!
We enjoyed our stay at the Ashbury Inn in LaGrange. The hotel was comfortable and the surrounding area was filled with amenities. The Walmart stpre was setting off fireworks so it caused a little disruption to a quiet evening but once they stopped the hotel was quiet. The staff was very friendly and hard working
This motel met our most important criteria: there were no roaches, and the room was clean. It always surprises me how often far more expensive hotels fail to meet those simple requirements. In addition, the hotel was quiet and family friendly, the staff was congenial and helpful, and the overall stay was quite pleasant. Having a Wal-Mart next door made shopping for forgotten necessities easy, and there were plenty of places close by where one could eat (we ate in the room using the refrigerator and microwave due to our schedule). As long as one keeps the price in mind, and manages expectations accordingly, this was a perfectly acceptable motel for our three day stay. I mean "acceptable" in a positive way: we experienced nothing annoying or distressing. That's quite an endorsement!
The agent on duty when I checked in changed my rate from using my points for the room to me paying for the room on my credit card. So uneducated in visual matrix for proper check in procedure, now the agent on duty is poorly trained and cannot issue a refund. So I'm out of town, with my bank account over drafted because of the agents's ignorance. The manager can't even be bothered to address my issue today, with no regard to my situation or that of my family until it's convenient for her/him. Completely unacceptable. Especially to a Platinum Member.
This was our first stay in a hotel after the pandemia and taking into consideration the lack of workforce the industry is experiencing, I would say it was an excellent stay. Nice, clean rooms, but I would like to emphasize the excellent service of the reception staff. Limited basic breakfast, but Ok.
I honestly don't know where to begin front office staff was rude from the minute we checked in. We wanted to extra wash cloths, they said they had none to spare. The first room we were in 122 was beyond dirty and the air conditioning did not work. After going back in forth they finally agreed to give us another room. The lobby stays at 85:degrees (we took pictures) when we came back to stay the second night (we were so tired) beds unmade, trash still in room, and they would not giv us more towels (at first)..when we questioned the young girl at the front desk she said the hotel was an extended stay hotel and she would explain that to me. This place l is beyond filthy. Please don't stay here. This is a hotel, for workers not business or family, people.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. It was clean, the staff anticipated our needs, the pool was really nice and coffee and breakfast were convenient. Nicole and Irveen checked with us every day to be sure everything was going well and we had everything we needed.
I was told my room would be comped by the front desk clerk and was double charged for my room. Called for a correction and was hung up on twice. Ended up calling my bank and Best Western corporate office.
The rooms in this place were disgusting!! The receptionist seemed to be the only one working in the whole place. The first room given to us had a green substance in the shower so we asked for another room. The second room we were given was even worse! Urine drops in the toilet seat and feces in the toilet bowl. There was mold on the shower grout and a whole in the bathroom ceiling that was plugged with dirty tissues! The room smelled like smoke. When talking to another guest they were told by the receptionist that the cleaning crew didn't show so the first floor rooms weren't available. Seem like the second and third floor ones weren't cleaned either! Will never EVER stay at another Best Western again!
This was an emergency trip. Check in and out were relatively quick and easy. The outside of the hotel showed definite signs of needing upkeep and general maintenance. It was pretty obvious that staff had been cut during the pandemic especially as far as handling maintenance and general cleanup. Outside needed cleanup with trash cans overflowing. Was just generally dirty. In our room, the fixtures for the sink outside the bathroom were rusting. You could see the drywall seams in the ceiling of the room. Looked like a hurried repair was done at some point. Hotel was quiet considering the number of cars that were there.
The lobby has obviously been upgraded and is very nice. However, once you step into the hallways of the hotel to go to your room the scene changes. Wallpaper peeling, large gouged sections in the wallpaper, filthy carpet. The room was a pleasant surprise after walking through hallways. Clean, neat and a good size. The bed was fantastic!! Such a great nights sleep. The walls are paper thin however, so the voices of multiple guests waking up and leaving from 4am until 7am were heard loud and clear through the door and walls. We just stayed one night so overall it was adequate and just fine.
Check-in was a breeze, the room was clean, TV worked, WIFI signal was strong, plenty of hot water, and the bed was comfortable, exactly what I want and expect in my stopping point. I will plan on staying again on my next trip.
Second year in a row staying at the New LaGrange Best Western. This is probably the nicest Best Western in the chain, as we are Rewards Members and always use Best Western. This Motel is very conveniently located off of the I-71 freeway and within walking distance to stretch our stiff legs to several restaurants. Staff at check-in and morning breakfast were super friendly. Jerry & Lynn
Great place to stay for quick trip through. Pet friendly which was a plus for us. Room was spacious enough for two adults, a ten year old and a 75 lb dog. Amenities were great. Close to local restaurants and fuel stations. Within walking distance to Wal-Mart. Waffle House right next to property was a great breakfast option. Chose to go here because breakfast at the hotel was incredibly disappointing. I understand COVID restrictions are in place but a single snack size rice krispy treat bar and a tiny bottle of water does not feed anybody. Bed and pillows were too firm for me but my son and fiance slept well. Staff was helpful though and friendly and hotel was very quiet. Plenty of parking room for larger vehicles/trailers. Granted there was hardly anybody there during that time though. Overall would stay again!
We thought we had a nice quiet room but the owners placed a large family of loud mouth Arabs right next to us and they were partying all night. We got zero sleep. We will never return. And when I complained I was patronized by the desk clerk saying sometimes that happens. This hotel is the worst! Avoid!
Nice & clean stay as we were heading across KY. No breakfast due to COVID. It would be nice if they would at least provide a packaged breakfast. We had booked this hotel expecting breakfast. We enjoyed dinner at the Main Street Bourbon & Ale House downtown. Walmart, Wendy's and Waffle House are within walking distance of this hotel.
Nice clean room, as usual. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel -- I know we will return. We travel between Texas and Ohio 2-3 times a year and try to stop at the hotels we know are nice.
Very friendly and helpful staff. They host a great breakfast. Rooms were very clean. They also told us about the Mexican Restaurant right behind the hotel which served great food. Would recommend this place.
We have stayed here a number of times before.Fore a stop along the way this one is hard to beat . Just off 71 with lots of places to eat in the area and next to a Walmart Rooms are clean and modern ,prices are more than good. Free breakfast included
Friendly staff, clean rooms, breakfast area well stocked and clean. Front end staff helpful with travel planning, suggested sites that were interesting. Will stay here again if ever in this part of the country
Check in was very fast and convenient the young lady was very helpful and knowledgeable, the rooms were very clean and the whole appearance inside and out was top notch. Plenty of parking for our rv and close to shopping and restaurants.
The decor was very tasteful, warm and inviting...loved the snowmen and the beautiful plants in the lobby...friendly staff. Very accommodating...The rooms were very large comfortable nice chair ottoman desk lots of lighting not those ugly LED lights pillows were super comfortable
This hotel was clean and very basic. Hotel is out dated and the night staff didn't seem to care if we were there or not. The beds were just ok to sleep one night but anything more would have probably caused back pain. Best of luck!
I travel a lot, stayed at many motels. I've regretted a few of them but I'm always satisfied with BW. My first choice when it's time to pull over for the night. My only regret was that no complimentary USA Today were available.
I've stayed at this hotel several times before. I love the new upgrades to the rooms and it is like a new hotel the rooms are clean and neat linens are clean and beds are comfortable. Nicole at the front desk is always helpful and accommodating, and Tiesha in housekeeping is always polite and helpful. best place to stay for your dollars in LaGrange_ just outside of Louisville- I'll be here again keep up the good work!
The breakfast was great and had many options to choose from. The only downfall was that we prefer sink in the bathroom. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and room very spacious. Would recommend to anyone.
A very nice room, staff was friendly and helpful. I fell off to sleep very easily. The bed was so comfy. Woke up the next day refreshed and ready to go. Well lit outside. If I was in the area I would stay there gin.Hot breakfast hit the spot before I hit the road again. Thank you Best Western.
Great location off the interstate. Easy to get off and on. Our room was clean and very spacious. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large. We checked in and out easily and the ladies at the front desk were very friendly. We had no problems. Would stay again if we're stopping in this area..
Great all around. Love it this hotel and would not change it. Best Western always make it like if you are at home. Choose wisely where you stay. If you have never stayed at a best Western you should try it. Always clean rooms and awesome beds
Had a great stay at this hotel, all expectations were exceeded! This was our first stay at a Best Western so we didn't know what to expect, this won't be our last staying at Best Western! Very clean room, excellent amenities!
Traveling home to see family and BW Ashbury Inn is a perfect stopping place. This is our fourth stay here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are comfy. The breakfast is more than enough and a large variety for everyone's taste. Will continue to stay here on our travels and will highly recommend to others.
My wife and I had a very nice stay at the Best Western Ashbury Inn at La Grange, Kentucky. The room was a nice size with most items we need, hair dryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, microwave and refrigerator. The room and the hotel were very well taken care of and very clean and quiet. There were many places to eat at within walking distance.
Very nice property, nice friendly staff, and walking distance to a Waffle House! Who could ask for more. The shower head was great, felt like I was under Niagara Falls. Room was very clean and the TV had lots of channels to choose from.
I love this place. Always clean rooms, friendly helpful front desk staff. The only thing I dislike is that they make you type on more words to complete a review when only a few are needed. And my last sentence wasn't enough either so I had to add this sentence.
The front desk was person offered us a different room as the floor we were originally booked on had a dog that barked a lot (according to it's owner!). She was also very cordial and helpful with restaurant suggestions. The air conditioning was on in our room when we walked in which we always appreciate. We will stay here every opportunity.
They are in the middle of renovations, which are needed. The rooms were clean, bed was comfy, and it was satisfactory for the one night we needed. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There are quite a few restaurants near by.
We stopped in at this hotel while on our way back to Alabama from Niagara Falls. It was the cheapest but nicest hotel we stayed in on our week long trip. The staff was very friendly and helped make check in smooth. The room was very spacious! The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Eggs, sausage, white gravy, biscuits, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal. Would definitely stay here again!
Great place to stay, I highly recommend. Room was very clean, I found not issues with the room or air conditioning. I heard no noise from the next rooms. Every one was really nice to deal with checking in and checking out.
My experience was very positive. Was very surprised by the lower rate than expected. Facility was very nice and everything met or exceeded my expectations. If given the opportunity, I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone else looking for a place in the area to spend the evening.
Wonderful staff, clean and very family friendly. We needed to use the washer and dryer while we were there and it was in excellent condition and easy to use. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful with all our needs. We'll be staying again next year!
Very nice lobby. Our room was missing the door jam and one of the dresser drawers strangely did not stay closed. Early am breakfast was a nice option, but after 20 minutes waiting for the waffle to cook, I gave up and asked the hostess to toss it.
We're heading back home after spending time with family and friends and were extremely worn out came up on Best Western and felt right at home... would recommend Best Western to everyone that was traveling and needs a place to stay.
We have stayed at the Ashbury Inn several times a year for the past 10 years. It is always clean, the staff is friendly, breakfast is excellent and the Mexican restaurant next door is world class. My only problem is that the pool is small and fills up with kids very easily.
Fantastic place to stay. clean rooms andd friendly office staff. This is such a great place. Also great price, You will enjoy sttying at the Best Western. This is the only place we will stay at on our way to PA. We stay here every year and have no desire to stay at any other hotel.
Hotel located in a nice area and not far from businesses. Hotel staff were very helpful and eager to accomplish anything that arose. Arrived late and left early so didn't get to eat there breakfast. Would stay here again when in the area.
Fairly clean hotel. Very helpful staff. Hot breakfast. Stores and restaurants within walking distance. Freezing pool for the most hearty swimmers only! Sections of the 2nd floor being renovated, but we were not inconvenienced at all.
Been here before, love this Best Western. Very clean and service and staff friendly and helpful. Have a breakfast buffet that is the best you usually find for free. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes, hot and cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, and more. Convenient easy on/off I-71 and ample parking. Good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.
Although the room was non-smoking, it's obvious that someone had smoked in that room previously. Strong smoker odor that permeated our clothes to the point where clean clothes that weren't worn still needed to be washed when we got home.
My wife and I had a very nice and quiet time at the Best Western Ashbury Inn. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. The hotel was very clean inside and outside. Our room was a nice size with a frig, microwave coffee maker and much more, impressive room and relaxing. The breakfast area was also great and maintained well, a good variety of breakfast items. There were a variety of stores and restaurants close by. My wife and I will definitely stay here again when passing this way again.
This hotel is a great value for your money! It is very clean with nice furnishings. I was ESPECIALLY happy with the bathtub and shower! That is what I always look at first in hotel rooms that I stay in. This one was SUPERB! Looks as though it could've been newly remodeled, it was so clean and fresh.
This was our first time to this area and did not know what to expect. We were very happy with how close everything was to the hotel. A walmart was right down the street and lots of good restaurants and the hotel was Nice, Clean and Spacious rooms. We had a hot breakfast and coffee was available any time. The staff was really nice and we enjoyed our visit. We will stay here again!
The staff was so kind an helpful. The hotel was clean and modern, and the breakfast was awesome! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is just far enough outside of the larger city to provide a quieter atmosphere, and yet convenient to everything.
Nice sized clean rooms for a reasonable price. Excellent clean nicely sized bathroom. Well maintained, although starting to show it's age a bit Easy access to the interstate. Lots of conveninet restaurants and shopping close by.
Very clean and comfortable stay Staff was very friendly and helpful at check in and at check out time .Rooms were very roomy and comfortable. Breakfast food items were very good also a good assortment Several places to eat close by. Not far from Louisville which has lots to do Louisville Sluggers Muesem and baseball bat tour is nice to do
I am in a wheelchair and the staff went out of their was to be helpful. The property is fine and the breakfast was a b but the staff was an A++ The handicapped bathroom was fine with a tub and shower chair. Unlike many hotels the room had plenty of lights. We will return. Nicole in particular was an outstanding employee and the manager was terrific too. breakfast staff was busy but very good. The bed was very good
Had a very nice, comfortable one night stay. Very friendly staff and clean, spacious room. The 7pm complimentary brownies, cookies and milk were a special treat for us and our kids! Breakfast was tasty and we felt very welcome and comfortable here! Would recommend for those looking for a place to stay! About 1/2 hour drive to downtown Louisville!
I come to LaGrange to visit my sister who is in the nursing home there. This Best Western is a few minutes from the Interstate ramp as well as from the nursing home. Plus there is a nice Walmart and restaurants within walking distance. The room is always very clean and roomy. Never a problem to park close to the door. Rates are reasonable too.
A very nice place to stay! Staff made the entire visit an ecxellent one. From making reservations with Charlene to checking in with Deneice it was all very pleasant. Room was quiet and clean. Very good room for the prices!
We have stayed here before and some improvements have been made.It is now non smoking. The rooms are clean quiet and comfortable. The staff are nice and the breakfast is good. You can walk to restaurants easily
I had a very pleasant and restful stay the breakfast was satisfying and the eating area clean and quiet the workout room was sufficient and clean the room rate was reasonable i had an easy check in and check out if and when i do come back i would stay at this inn
Hotel staff are very professional and people orientated. Hotel management makes sure all staff members do their job and go the extra mile to make everyone enjoy their stay. Hotel beds and furniture are top quality....the shower is one of the best I have ever experiences....great pressure and endless hot water.
Words can't express enough how great the staff was at this hotel especially the General Manager Dee Milburn. I broke down on the interstate with my 2 grandkids and got towed to this hotel. They more than accommodated us and went above and beyond in meeting our needs. I definitely recommend this hotel if your ever in the area. Dee Milburn my grandkids thank you for their money to get a snack from the vending machine. Y'all rock.
Our stay was pleasant and this location helps the traveler avoid the traffic in east Louisville that can be very troublesome. The hotel room was very comfortable with a frig and microwave. The breakfast was hot with a nice variety of food along with fresh fruit and pastries. It also offers the opportunity to explore the historic town of LaGrange.
Great place to stay. The staff was wonderful, and very friendly. Breakfast was very good, great variety. There were alot of place to eat in the area. Great right off the freeway. Close gas stations too.
Nice hotel, staffed by friendly, professional people who have really gone the extra mile to make our stay a pleasant one. Well located near the interstate and close to restaurants. Wal-Mart is nearby for any purchases you need to make .
Have spent the last several weeks at this hotel. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The rooms are consistently clean and the breakfasts are always fresh and on time. I often recommend this hotel to my colleagues.
We had a hard time finding being a hotel to be ok but found this one. I will say this is an absolutely great place to stay. The staff was totally the nicest people I have ever met. The clerk yesterday was nice enough to take the pic of us yesterday. This was the first time my mom got to meet here biological sister. When I got home today the manager called and said my mom left pics behind and he is sending those a priority. Thanks dee. The breakfast was great. Thank you for the great experience. If we are back in the area we will stay here again.
We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrive to the hotel. It was very well-kept and smelled incredibly clean. The pool was outside, which was good for us. But for people with kids or when traveling in the cooler months, you may want to keep this in mind.
Taking mini vacation to see the Ark at Williamstown KY. Hotel easy to get to. Nicole checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. Spending night the bed was very uncomfortable. Loved the shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was minimal but good. Nicole was there to check us out to and still very friendly. A really nice person. Exercise room was very small and only few pieces of equipment.
We always stay at Best Western, earn points for every stay and bonus points for doing the survey. Points never expire and you can build up for free nights. The only time we don't stay at BW is when we can't find one close enough that will allow dogs. The fees are nominal. Some BW don't take pets so we end up staying elsewhere, but that has only happened 1 time in many, many years. Love BW
The outside look of this hotel is a good one and makes you think the inside will match it. Wrong. The rooms need updating majorly. Our room had MANY cigarette burns on the carpet, there was hair and a bobby pin on the floor to show it needed vacumming, there was a pubic hair on the bedspread, the pillows were small and uncomfortable and the overwhelming smell of smoke in the room and the hallways was awful. The women at the front desk were very nice and about the only good thing I could say about this hotel.
Most other hotels in the area were booked or price gouging due to many events in the area. Best Western had rooms at their normal rate ($89 with AAA discount). The room was clean and odorless, which are probably the most important when considering where to sleep for the night. The furniture is a little worn and the coffee was a little weak for my taste. But for half the price of the Comfort Inn and Quality Inn nearby it was a steal! The AC worked well, bed and pillows were very comfortable. I would stay there again.
I don't understand how this place is rated so highly. We were visiting our son in La Grange and we decided to stay here because it was close to his home. When we arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon, 30 minutes after check-in time, we were told our room was not ready yet but they would give us a different room. The room they gave us was in serious need of updating - worn furniture and discolored and scratched-up fixtures(sink, toilet, tub). The window air conditioning unit made a constant rattling sound. When we showered the first morning we discovered the drain in the tub was stopped-up and we reported it to the front desk on our way out. We were told it would be taken care of - it wasn't. When we returned to our room that night there was no coffee, coffee cups, plastic glasses, or toiletries. I went down to the front desk to report this and was able to get everything but coffee - apparently there was none left anywhere in the hotel. That night we got a wake-up call at 2:00 in the morning when the dumpster outside our room window was being emptied. On our last day we got back to our room at 4:30 and found it not cleaned yet. Again I went to the front desk and was told they were still cleaning rooms and had not gotten to ours yet - they finally did come at 6:00 to clean the room. And finally, when we went to check out there was no one at the front desk so I left the card keys on the counter and walked out, never to return.
Traveling through many states. This was a good location to visit Louisville, KY then head to Cincinnati, OH. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with quite a few options. Beds could be a bit softer.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Bed was comfortable, slept great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Recommended nearby restsurants. Breakfast was good with several options. Coffee makers in rooms which was an added bonus.
This hotel was great. The newly remodeled Sea Glass downstairs in the hotel lobby is going through some growing pains but overall the food is pretty decent. Liquer prices on higher end bourbons are kind of off the charts @18.00 for a glass of bookers. But if you dont drink bourbon its a great place and nice staff.
Great place even last minute we were tired it was very affordable and great sleep breakfast in the morning was excellent I will definitely be visiting more best western now very friendly top rate by far
Smoke filled (even with signs on front door declaring “smoke free hotel”), dirty hallways. Shower didn't drain. Floor had not been vacuumed since previous guests. This is a poorly maintained property. I would recommend you drive on by and try something else.
One of the worst experiences of my life. This place is nasty. Toilet was leaking from the bottom. When I tried to call to the main desk, the phone did not work. They claimed they did not know about the leak. The entire hotel literally stinks. It smells like a 1960's smoking lounge. Customer Service is terrible. You have been warned. Don't stay here.
I had gone to this hotel to attend a funeral. Staff offered their condolences and were very kind. Due to the fact that there were several families in from out of State we got a discounted group rate which I appreciated.
Clean and convenient, easy on and off the hiway, good food options. the rooms were well kept and the staff very accommodating. will stop here again. Having to type two hundred or more characters to satisfy this section is a pain and I would NOT bother doing it again..
We had an excellent stay on our way back from Alabama to Ohio. Location is great and the employees are very friendly and professional. We travel with a pet and we felt right at home - easy access to the outside for walking but very quiet at night. We highly recommend this hotel for your overnight stay!
Friendly staff, clean room, attractive furniture, great water pressure in shower, and everything works and was where it should be. Breakfast area was clean, food was hot and tasty. One thing, the toilet was very low (short), so it was a bit of a struggle to get up from it with old knees. :) Overall very pleased.
La Grange is about half way on our drive south for the winter so we've been looking for a reasonably priced, clean motel in the area. We tried the Best Western this year and were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. Also important to us was the Walmart right next door and a number of restaurants within a short walk. It would have been nice if they had spent a little more time and money on the bathroom, but that's a minor issue. We used the interrstate coupon book and were disappointed that the hotel would not accept reservations with the coupon. That's a policy the motel should change. We plan to return, winter and spring, for years to come.
It was a Comfortable and clean hotel. It was a very cold winter day, but the room was nice and warm. The breakfast was good. It could have some more variety. The lady taking care of the breakfast was really helpful and kind.
We just stayed for one night and overall, and based on the price, it was ok. Had a confirmed reservation for a room with 2 queen beds, but at check in were informed in a very RUDE way that only Kings were available. Apparently BW loyalty program is not to the advantage of the members. You can get much better deals thru other means. Room was not too clean.
Room had roaches only stayed 15 minutes still charged for room. Don't stay at this hotel unless future reviews state is cleaned/ exterminated. I do stay at best western hotels this is not what I generally experience for the chain.
The room was surprisingly large and well-appointed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location also made it easy to get on and off of the highway. I would definitely stay here again in the future and will recommend to friends traveling to the Louisville area.
I was impressed with the quality and location of the room I stayed in. It was spacious and clean. It is located next to a Walmart should you need to buy a few things while on the road. The staff were accommodating and friendly.
staff very friendly & helpful. price was more than competitive. breakfast was great w/good service.. hotel was clean & located very close to the expressway, my wife felt very safe & secure-parking lot was well lit. excellent restaurant within walking distance.
This location offered excellent parking within view of the lobby for our uhaul. Overall, staff was extremely friendly and made check in a breeze. They offered express check out. Breakfast was good with a variety of options.
We had a very nice experience staying at the Ashbury Best Western. We will be in the area 2 times a year, so we will return. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was amazing, good water pressure and very hot water! Service was excellent and clean room.
Even though there were a few hotels at this busy exit I found this BW very nice. I travel quite a bit and felt comfortable here. Clean and quiet, staff nice. Good breakfast, well stocked. Parking a bit small.
I have spent the last couple weeks at this hotel and I could not ask for a better value for the money. The staff was great to work with and the location was very convenient to the facility where I was working. I have stayed at this location in the past and they always know which room I prefer. I could not ask for a better deal.
This Best Western hotel is by my account, the best hotel in La Grange. They had good rooms, clean, and with very nice staff. Very helpful but had trouble connecting to internet signup sheet and while several of the staff tried to help, they did not know enough to help.
We had eight rooms for wedding guests. Ms Martin helped us through the whole process from reservation to check out. Everything went very smoothly. We had a great experience and the staff was very helpful. Also had a nice breakfast with sausage, biscuit, gravy, fruit, danish, bagels, waffles
Friendly. Knowledgeable on the area and local things to do. The area is beautiful and la grange is well worth the visit. A true southern town so close to Louisville. The restaurants in la grange are great 119 north Main Street is excellent and food worth the trip.
When we come to stay at BW in LaGrange it is that we have church assignments at a nearby location. The staff has special considerations since we all (those who use the motel for the same purpose) have similar responsibilities nearby. The staff greets my wife and I warmly and we have come to look forward to the visit in LaGrange.
Not a 5 star, but staff is friendly, room was OK, free breakfast was probably a little better than most. Hotel is easy to get to from I-71. We stop there a lot on our way to Ohio and usually enjoy dinner at the Mexican restaurant next door.
Although the website here makes it look like the prices are all super close, call around - this was cheaper than a next door hotel by about $30. Staff was friendly and helpful, when I called to check price and see if they had a pool (yes) she answered my questions without trying to take all my information and hard-sell me a room like some of those other jokers (I never stay if the people are pushy). The hotel seems well kept, they have a hot breakfast (free) in the morning. The hallway had a funny smell I couldn't place but it may have just been from another guest because the room was cool and odor-free upon our entrance. Very welcoming. The room (2 queens) is nice and spacious, the bathroom is more like a cheaper hotel as far as lighting and inside the toilet looks old, like stains that can't be removed, but it was ok. There's a walmart, a papa johns, a Mexican restaurant literally within walking distance. Cracker Barrel is around here somewhere...The pool was nice, shower felt good...this is pretty much the hotel experience you're looking for when you just want to land somewhere, not pay a bunch of money, not do sightseeing, just rest.
I was very pleased with everything. Everyone was very pleasant and very helpful. We were very pleased with our stay. We stop at this Best Western every time we go to Tennessee to visit our son and daughter in law.
I was there for the Nascar race. We were reasonably close to the track and the price was excellent considering it was race weekend. The room was fairly clean and breakfast was decent. I wasn't expecting a Crown Plaza at these prices and I was very satisfied with the hotel.
Arrived Friday for a two-night stay for NASCAR weekend. After arriving early, Nicole at the front desk was quick to check us in anyhow...she is very nice and accommodating. The only reason I didn't rate this property a 5 is the pool was closed during our stay, as my son was looking forward to swimming. Apart from that, this is a well-kept and clean hotel, and would stay here again without hesitation.
We travel a great deal and have come to rely on one specific Hotel chain as we always know what to expect. Regrettably , we could not find one of these hotels in LaGrange KY. While we have stayed at a few BW hotels over the years, we'd not particularly favor them over our regular hotel choices. I was very apprehensive in booking this not knowing what to expect, especially when the manager gave me a fantastic rate when I booked over the phone. Much to my surprise, an over all pleasant experience. Staff was very very helpful, room was clean, breakfast offering was very good. Good job BW !!..We will be back !! Only negative was beds could have been better ( more comfortable) . But I must caveat that remark as we are older and a bit more particular when it comes to comfort. ..Nonetheless, we both left impressed with our stay !
This is an old hotel. The pictures on-line make it look better than it really is. It looks tired. On the up-side, the room was clean. Our room was on the back side of the hotel. There is a restaurant behind the hotel with outdoor seating and play area. Lots of noise coming from its customers and their children. (At least they were having fun). One reason we chose the hotel was for its pool. However, upon check in, we discovered the pool was closed because they were working on it (not sure how long that will take).
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and always had everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay there! The manager went above and beyond in helping us to get the best rate possible. We were able to use their meeting room as a get together spot to play cards with our friends. Was a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend this Best Western.
My husband and I stayed one night while traveling. The front desk clerk was friendly, and the rooms were clean. The lobby should have been cleaner than the rooms...but was decorated nicely. Breakfast was your typical affair, but the food area should have been cleaner. The lady cleaning the breakfast area kept the tables clean and was very friendly. All in all in it was ok. If you need a quick stop for one night, it would be ok.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was tasty. The hotel is older but has been remodeled. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Sadly for my kids the pool was closed for construction while we were there.
Due to the size of our dog, hotel options are limited. I was glad to find this location. Service - Excellent! Everyone from housekeeping to the General Manager were polite, friendly and helpful. Anytime a question was presented to any-one of the staff, the same attitude was conveyed. I had no problems in making my reservation...I even had a discount that I wasn't aware that I would get. Thanks Lisa! I was also told that the pool was unavailable and that breakfast was available daily. Room - It was clean and I was glad to see a mini fridge and microwave was available. Granted, the hotel needs freshened up (carpets and décor) but the bed was comfortable, clean and I was very relaxed staying here. The walls were clean and not all "hogged up" with stains. The carpets could use a shampoo but nothing that would prevent me from staying no cracks, no paint chips, no bugs.... We stayed in one of the ground level floors with a king bed. The AC worked great! Location - It was close to where my husband was working. There is a Walmart behind the hotel. Several restaurants within walking distance ranging from American, Mexican to Chinese foods. It was great for me since I was without wheels. The landscaping was maintained and free of trash. There is plenty of parking but not for semi trucks or anyone traveling with a trailer....unless you park over at Walmart. Furbabies - Very pet friendly!! There is a pet walk area behind the pool just make sure to pick up the poo (no matter big or small...lol!) Diesel enjoyed his stay and would recommend to all of his friends.
This location's pool has not been open since after Memorial Day, my kids are disappointed they have been unable to swim when I stay there yet. Overall facility is okay other than pool not being open. Breakfast is good, room is clean.
The actual room was decent. The hallways and elevator had no air conditioning on which made it hot and smell. Smelled like oil and cigarette smoke. My room smelled fine but bathroom had been smoked in. No luggage carts anywhere. Front desk said try on this floor try on that floor. No! Luggage carts should be at the front. I ended up carrying all of our luggage over the course of 3 trips from the car. Only ice I found is on 1st floor. Very inconvenient for the guests on other floors. Easy access to food and Walmart, but Wouldn't stay again.
This was a very clean, comfortable motel. We were impressed. My husband was surprised to find out it wasn't a brand new motel. It was well kept. We were very tired so we were glad to hear there was a Mexican restaurant right out the back door.
So as to confirm the extrodinary lodging location of the place of traveler's rest stop, one must experience in the third dimension style of experiencing a stopover that can't be found but in a most deliberate manner of desiring to be in such a place and time of complete accessibility!
This Best Western is a excellent mid range priced property. We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding, Everything about the property showed the owner cared. The 5 star rating was for the people that work there and the appearance of the hotel compared to similar priced venues
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, it was quiet and staff very friendly. The continental breakfast was way beyond "continental". Besides the normal toast, waffles, cold cereal, there was sausage, gravy, biscuits and scrambled eggs. There was also oatmeal with about 6 items to add to your it (i.e. raisins, walnuts, granola).
Read majority of reviews on TripAdvisor and they were right. Clean rooms and comfortable beds! Good place to stay and would stay there again. Breakfast wasn't to bad either, service area was just a bit small.Great value!
We arrived during rush hour which made getting into the hotel very difficult. We had to go down to Walmart turn around and come back. Check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was okay but the location was not great. Room 121 is at the back entrance and across the parking lot from a Mexican Restaurant that has some pretty loud music. Thank goodness for the A/C unit, it made for a nice quiet night. Room was clean, no problems. This is one of those properties that you feel like you are being penalized for using a third party to book your room!
Excellent except for redesign of building needs some thought for of design to provide cover on entry/exit when in rain.. Pool was not yet open otherwise would happily return.Extremely easy access from highway in and out.
This facility is very well kept, extremely helpful and caring staff. Also located within walking distance of anything a traveler might need. I will stay there again as I travel to see family in Arkansas quite often. I also recommend it to anyone who my be passing through.
I'm not sure how easy it is to find the Hotel. Of course it was easy with the GPS but, we certainly seemed to be zigzagging through town. The Hotel was very nice and looked new. There was a place in the room for my wife to do her makeup which should have had a sink. There was a soap dish in the area, but no sink. The sink in the bathroom had no counter space. Other than that, a nice Hotel.
Great location right beside a really good Mexican restaurant. The rooms are very large but need a really good cleaning. Still have a smoked in smell in both rooms we had. Connecting door would not open. Halls and elevator were dirty too. Not impressed for the price.
Great stopover on a 2000 km trip . A welcoming establishment with friendly helping staff. Easy off and on from Interstate 71 . We have stopped here before and it was good to see that the Ashbury had received a facelift. We will stop here again on our way south next year
Booked on line and stayed her overnight. Got in late, check in was easy and quick. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The people were nice. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the price was great. Highly recommend this place.
The hotel was nice and clean, my girlfriend and I were satisfied all of the way. We traveled from New York on our way to Tennessee and stayed in Kentucky for the night. Everything was clean and well dressed for us but we just wish they would have gave out bottles of water in the rooms lol! Good experience and will come back to best western and we will tell our frends about the quality of the hotel.
The room didn't smell that great. There was mold in the bathroom. I think it is due to being an older motel. There was a school group there on the night of our stay and they were very loud and woke us up several times (not motels fault). Breakfast is pretty limited. We chose to go to cracker barrel (very good). Staff was very friendly though. Would not stay here again though.
My stay at the Best Western in LaGrange, KY lasted a few weeks. My room was quiet, safe and comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly, pleasant, and attentive to anything needed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through this area.
After a long and tiring day on the road, with a cold rearing it's ugly head, it was a relief to come upon this very nice hotel. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, and, even though my husband no longer has his CDL, she was going to give us the trucker discount - I had stayed in the car, because I was feeling so horrible. But, I found a coupon in one of the books he had gotten us at a rest stop, and took it in, and she very patiently re-rang the night to give us the better discount. The room was comfortable (well, as comfortable as I could be, since I wasn't feeling well) and very clean. The amenities were well appointed and cared for, and it was, overall, a very positive stay - hopefully, if we pass thru again, and need to stay, I won't be sick, and can enjoy it more! Good job, to all the staff....
My stay was all I needed - good wifi, comfortable bed. I could slightly hear my neighbors, but I always travel with ear plugs as this often happens. Slept well and greatly appreciated that breakfast started at 5:30.
We only stayed overnite but every thing was fine. The king bedroom was very large and roomy. Their towels were the softest I have ever used in any hotel. The breakfast was the normal waffles, biscuits and sausage and sausage gravy, plus hot/cold cereal and breads bagels etc. We would definetly return to this motel in the future.
Rooms were adequate for the price, however this stay was probably our worst ever at this facility. In the end they DID make it right. We usually love staying at this place, and will give them another chance. However, I would like to see some Splenda at the complimentary breakfast.
There was a live roach in the bathroom. The checkout clerk gave me a discount. Did not care to much about the breakfast either. Did not have much cereal choices. As far as convenience, it is right of the interstate. Wall-Mart is right next door.
This is an older motel, but appears to have been upgraded. The exterior is really nice. The room was spacious and clean. Liked not having to smell cigarette smoke. The bed was comfortable. My only complaint was that the bathroom sink was slow to drain. We would stay here again.
Unfortunately we did not know about the roof being redone. The roofers even worked on Labor Day... PROMPTLY AT 9:00 AM when my wife and I were trying to sleep in!!! AND, our neighbor was smoking in his room. NOT ALLOWED! Other than that, Kristine at the front desk was very delightful and helpful.
An older hotel, but nice and clean and friendly staff. We felt the rate was a little high for this humble hotel, but the outdoor pool looked great and if we had time to use it, probably would have felt better about that.
Everything was first rate in Kentucky; four nights in Nashville room was lovely but lacked a ceiling fan and the bathroom steamed up whenever we used the shower. The staff in Nashville was amazing. Very helpful when we were planning our day trips and advised us on shuttle schedules and made reservations for us.
This facility has and Excellent, Staff and Room, very clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area! Thank you to the staff for all there help
Just outside LaGrange, Kentucky proper, the location within walking distance of eateries. Quiet, plenty of parking, breakfast and such. The design of the shower had a little lip so even when the shower head was faced towards the wall, water was entering the tiled floor. They must have known this happens since there were three huge towels. So I wiped it up and thought about the design flaw.
The place was pretty clean but there was a roach in the bathroom, the toilet was difficult to flush and the fridge 'clicked' all night long, too tired to care. Pretty entry. Close to a waffle house and several more restaurants.
Easy to reserve on line through Best Western. Easy access to the facility a few eating establishments close by. Reasonably priced, good breakfast, clean rooms, Boys LOVED the pool! Will consider staying again if / when we travel that way.
My friend and I stayed here on our way to Louisville. It's right off the highway and right next to a Walmart and some restaurants. The desk clerk was so sweet and nice. She offered us suggestions if we wanted to go anywhere to eat. The lobby is gorgeous and clean. The rooms and newly renovated and very spacious. We got 2 queen beds for a great price! There were a few ants in the bathroom but nothing crazy. There's a pretty extensive breakfast -- waffles, cereal, muffins, bagels, coffee, juice, eggs, sausage... so that was great too! Plus there's a fridge and microwave in the rooms. And the pool is open until 10pm (although we didn't use it.) I'd definitely stay there again.
Great hotel and staff. Lobby is clean, but smells of tobacco. Rooms are fine though. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Staff is very helpful and polite, eager to please. Internet works great and free!
I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff both at check in and at check out. The lobby was very welcoming and looked so nice. There was a clean smell and feel about the whole facility. I'll definiltey stay here again.
I got a room on the 1st floor very close to the lobby and breakfast station. It was very quiet and I couldn't hear people walking by. Bed was comfortable, water pressure was strong, microwave and fridge in room, about 100 TV channels. Service at check in and check out (Sat-Sun of 4 July weekend) was very good. Breakfast was very good as well. There were several restaurants and even a Wal-Mart within walking distance, and more restaurants within a very short drive (mostly chains). Very convenient to the interstate. One think I was put off about was an envelope in the room encouraging guests to tip the housekeepers. Does the hotel not pay them enough or should it fall on the customer to make up that shortfall? I think not.
I often drive from Texas to Michigan and back. I like Best Western, belong to their Rewards program which really reduces the actual cost of an average stay. They are a step above the discount motels, better facilities, breakfast, etc. This particular hotel is a good value, clean, well managed, comfortable, lots of eating choices and La Grange is a train-loving traveller's dream. You can have dinner in La Grange (try One-Nineteen West Main) and perhaps see the train go right down the main street downtown.
We stayed overnight en route to Ohio. Very convenient to the interstate. Clean and comfy, decent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Everything one could want in a stopover, and if you're heading north, you won't have to go through Louisville in the morning. (For a unique dining experience, try One Nineteen West Main nearby.)
We were on a road trip and landed here with no prior planning. Although we picked this hotel based on TA. Rooms were clean and staff was very helpful. One ding, our smoke free room smelled a bit of cigarettes. But not horrid, just a hint. We could hear our neighbors easily, but not sure if that was the walls or the neighbors:). Breakfast was good and we got back on the road well rested. Exactly what we were looking for in our stay.
This is probably the nicest Best Western I've ever stayed at. The lobby is stunning. The staff was very friendly and nice. The rooms were very clean as well as the whole hotel. Enjoyed a nice complimentary breakfast. Food was hot and fresh. I had a great nights sleep. Place was quiet and I felt safe.... I would definitely recommend this hotel!!!
The Best Western in LaGrange, KY was very comfortable and clean. Didn't have any problems with noise or rowdy guests. The free breakfast was the same each day but had a nice selection. The dining room area was very well kept and clean. Everyone employee we interfaced with (management, front desk personnel, housekeeping and the dining room attendant) were polite and very helpful. Wi-Fi was basic but the signal was strong enough and surf the web without much interruption.
hotel was nice rooms were clean, had a walmart right next to it with walking distance which is very convenient.. i think the hotel would have been better if the pool was working, this was one reason i booked the hotel for the pool, kids were very disappointed i would call first to see if pool is available.
We arrived at the Best Western late in the evening, tired and hungry. This hotel was listed in the Travelcoupons.com and they promptly found a very nice room. The interior was a little worn, but the decor made up for any of that. In all, we had a good night's sleep and the staf was willing to help and make us feel at home. The breakfast in the morning put us on our way with full tummies, ready to travel on.
NRA AM was in Louisville about 40 min away so they were FULL and had been for several days. We were rained out of Dayton Hamvension so headed to NRA AM earlier than planned and the room was ready early YIPEE! Got to spend a few hours at Annual Meeting a day earlier than planned OK They were 100% full - First NO Vacancy sign I've seen in years They HAD to be running on empty because of the guest load, but you'd never guess they were not empty and glad to have you as their only guest. Everyone I ran into had a smile and a HI Breakfast was excellent and no idea how she kept up with guest load. I was one of the few nighters and I told the maid I was out of there and she said THANKS that gives me a bit more time without disturbing anyone. GREAT location - plenty of restaurant and stores. Walmart parking was as close as room parking. Reasonable price on a long sold out weekend, great service, great staff - It just doesn't get any better
Based on some conflicting reviews I was not sure about booking. However this hotel exceeded my expectations. Our room was larger than many higher priced locations. Very clean and an exceptionally comfortable bed. We didn't try the included breakfast due to our schedule but it appeared sufficient. A great choice for our needs!
I needed to find some place between Louisville and Cincy and I found the perfect spot! La Grange is a nice town and the Best Western, Ashbury Inn was the perfect relaxation point to stay! The room was very clean and not cramped at all. The hotel was laid out well too with easy access where you needed to go. The best part of the stay was getting to deal with Lisa at the front counter. What a sweet, smiling asset to this hotel!! She helped me find a couple of points of interest and was very sweet and friendly. I wish all front desk associates were this helpful and friendly!
We were traveling and found their ad in a hotel book from the rest stop. I called and they only had a couple rooms left and there was a lot going on in town. The weather was bad so Lisa said she would hold us a room. The hotel was nice and clean and the front desk people were extremely helpful. Even recommended a place for my husband to watch a hockey game. Told us who to talk to so they would put the game on. I would defiantly stay here again and am going to recommend it to family who travel this way frequently.
Stayed at this hotel for a night in May 2016. The room war really dirty. There was trash on the floor and it seemed that given it was surround by a lot of dust, they were there a while. The bed was very uncomfortable. It felt like a padded board. There was also an odor of smoke mixed with musk that permeated the room. It seems like this is an older hotel and could use some updating.
The Ashbury checked a lot of boxes for us. The only thing that could have been a bit better was the breakfast. Even that had a lot going for it. Plenty of seating, everything was always kept filled just didn't care for the eggs or the pastries. Everyone we encountered during our weekend stay were super friendly and helpful.
FANTASTIC! The nicest most accommodating staff, very nice room, very comfortable bed, great shower and water pressure, really clean, great location, great food recommendations for dinner, hotel breakfast well done by a lovely hard working lady! Would stay again in a heart beat and highly recommend!!! Thank you Dee and Lisa and all of the staff, great job!!!
Will definitely stay here again friendliest most helpful staff I have I ever met. Nice, clean, safe, has lots of restaurants around and a Walmart right next door in case you forgot something. Even my 9 year old grandson commented on how nice the people were and it was the best hotel we have stayed in so far for his soccer tournaments.
We booked this hotel through a third party web site that rated it at 4 out of 5 and reviews were OK. Wrong! We booked a non-smoking room. First room we were given - the telephone didn't work and the television remote didn't allow all channels. We asked for another room (obviously had to go to the front desk because we couldn't call), and were given a new room. Opened the door to the second room which was to be a non-smoking room and it reeked of cigarette smoke. On to room number three! The telephone didn't work, the internet was spotty, the dresser, desk and night stand were not dusted and there were crumbs and food bits on the floor. As it was after 9pm, we went to the front desk and asked what could be done. We decided to stay and the manager comp'd the room. To add insult to injury, at 3am, a pickup truck full of workers popped a couple of beverages in the parking lot next to our room and talked loudly for about an hour. I would NOT stay here again.
Not sure why such bad prior reviews because we just stayed there and the rooms were spacious and clean, the lobby was beautiful and all of the staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. We stayed on the 2nd floor and the hallway and elevator were clean and quiet. I was pleasantly surprised with all the choices for the free breakfast; they had a yogurt bar with several different toppings, belgium waffles, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit and more. Will definitely stay here again!!!
A great place to stay in La Grange, KY. This motel was very near to the friends I was visiting and they recommended this motel. It was a good choice for the four of us to get two rooms for one night. The phone system was not working properly, so it was very difficult to contact this location to get a reservation. A quick call to the Best Western central location got the reservation made.
I am an avid Trip Advisor user and so when I read all the stellar reviews for this hotel I thought for sure this was an obvious choice. The beauty of the lobby is deceptive, at least if you are staying on the 2nd floor as I did (maybe all these great rooms people are talking about are elsewhere in the hotel). Upon check in I had to initial a form saying I understood the room was non-smoking. Perfect - I'm a non-smoker so a hotel that directly states no smoking is right up my alley. Or so I thought. Immediately upon opening the door to my room I was smacked in the face with the smell of a freshly chain-smoked pack of cigarettes. It was absolutely DISGUSTING! I tried opening the window but it was locked shut. I turned on the fan and left the door to the room open for about 30 mins and that did nothing to allievate the stench. Just being in the room 10 minutes left me and all my belongings covered with the stench of cigarettes. There is no way this is just a biproduct of the hotel being old - someone HAD to be smoking in that "non-smoking" room. I called the front desk to let them know out of fear that I would be charged a fee for smoking and was promptly told the hotel was booked full and there was nothing that could be done. As if the cigarette stench wasn't bad enough, the room was FILTHY - nothing like the prestine nature of the lobby. The floors were dirty and stained, the mirrors were streaked with white filth, there was something that looked like toothpaste on the tv, the walls of the bathroom had yellow streaks all over them (clearly from cigarette tar that coated the walls and then ran down them from the steam of the shower), the bathroom was dingy and toilet seat was stained, the chairs felt coated in slim, and the sheets were ill fitting on the bed and felt oily. It was so bad I didn't even bother taking a shower because I didn't know if I could trust it! When I woke up in the morning I at least figured I'd get some of my money's worth with the free continental breakfast. But I would have been better off going to the Waffle House next door. Nothing felt or tasted fresh, everything seemed to be pre-packaged stuff you could get at the grocery store. The eggs were pre-made patties that looked extremely unappetizing, there weren't even fresh muffins or donuts or bagels - staples at other "continental breakfasts." This was definitely the most sub-par breakfast I've ever seen at a hotel of this caliber. Overall I was more or less disgusted with my whole experience and would never return again. The only shining thing of the whole trip is that the front desk staff at check-out was very kind and apologetic and did give me a reduced rate to make up for it (something I did not even ask for as I was just being polite and trying to get out of there as quick as possible as making a scene didn't seem worth it). My suggestion is that if you are planning on staying here ask specifcally for a renovated room on the first floor - those HAVE to be the rooms that all these other people are reviewing!
Needed a place to stay on short notice to attend The Mid America Truck Show. Hotels in Louisville near the expo double prices during this high attendance event. LA Grange is about a 25 minute drive from Louisville but the price was less than half what a near in comparable room would have been. Good, clean facility with a bar restaurant and nearby options for meals. Would stay here again under similar circumstances.
price was changed because there was a function in town, first room was still dirty with bedding on floor and towels. had to go back to desk with all our stuff to get new room.We were tired and ready to get in a clean room.
We went to an event in Tenn, and decided to leave early so we had no reservations any where else. We traveled several miles and we were getting tired of riding. We checked in at the Best Western and were very satisfied with our room and service. We loved the room because it was very clean and roomy. No complains on the room, service or price. Everyone was very friendly. Would stay there again.
We spent 4 nights at the Best Western Ashbury Inn in March 2016. We have stayed at the other 3 hotels in La Grange and think the Ashbury Inn is the best option. The hotel public areas and our room were clean and well maintained. Our first floor room was large and had a very comfortable bed and was quiet. There were 2 upholstered chairs and a desk with a rolling chair. The TV channel selection was good and included several HD channels. There was a microwave and a refrigerator. There was a good T-Mobile signal in our room. We checked in early and out late. The breakfast was average. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. A few quibbles that do not change my opinion that this is the best of the 4 hotels in La Grange. The refrigerator did not work. I'm sure if we had complained louder that they would have swapped in a different one. The door to the bathroom is only about 24 inches wide. The bathroom itself was great. There is no in room safe. The free WiFi required me to keep logging on using the supplied userid and password. Finally, and most serious for me is the lack of electrical or USB outlets for plugging in our devices. Luckily there was an outlet in the closet that we could plug our mobile phones into at night. One last thing. They do accept small dogs for $20 per night. I found conflicting information about their acceptance of dogs on various web sites, including the official Best Western hotel listing.
My first stay, will stop here again if in the area. Close to restaurants ! Room was clean and confortable. I had a coupon for a much less than usual price, but was given a King room on ground floor close to parking !
This property is in good shape and the staff seems to be engaged. Breakfast offering is rather slight but adequate. Close to other restaurants is you need more. Close proximity to I71 so easy to get to from Cincinnati or Louisville.
This property was extremely clean, comfortable and location was great. The TV programming was excellent with any station you would want. We were pleasantly surprised at the decor and design of our room..2 queens. If you didnt know where you stayed, you would think you were in a Marriott, Hyatt or Hilton. I would definitely highly recommend this property.
Room is spacious, clean, comfortable. We visit once a month. Breakfast is better than most other continentals. Doris is great at keeping the breakfast bar hot & fresh. Staff is very friendly and accommodating -- Big Thanks to Lisa and Dee for making us feel so welcome.
This Hotel is located just off of I 71.The rooms were comfortable and Quiet,The Front desk lady was very nice upon check in and there are many restaurants within walking distance. This Hotel is also reasonable priced.Get a coupon book at the KY welcome center. On the downside the breakfast was mediocure at best and the Hallways had the smell of smoke.I even saw a cigarette on the hall carpet. After check in I found a big dead bug in the washroom. On checking out I mentioned it to the desk and they were not concerned saying it is a common occurrence as they come in through the plumbing system.I felt the cleaning staff could have removed it
Pretty nice place... everything was as expected for Best Western nice breakfast in the morning .. walking distance to a couple eateries plenty of parking pool really nice after a long day on the road.. staff was very friendly and very helpful with local attractions...
The hotel was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff were cordial and efficient. This is my third time staying here. I would not hesitate to stay here again. There is an abundance of good restaurants within a few miles of the hotel.
Best westerns are great! In KY there are no baby cribs. They said it was against insurance policies so don't go crazy calling 100 hotels like I did thinking they just don't carry them. No one had one. I had to put baby in bed with me ( which turned out ok, but she is also over 1 year old.) Hotel was nice, food was good.
I would not recommend this hotel. The room had dead bugs and traces of food on the carpet. The mattresses had terrible plastic pads that caused one to sweat while sleeping. The smoking in the hotel was terrible. There just seemed to be a lack organization or management. I would not take my family there again.
We are members of the Best Western loyalty club as we find their hotels reasonably price and generally in good shape with a wholesome breakfast. This hotel was conveniently located off of the major highway close to shopping and restaurants. It is a newer hotel and we would definitely consider returning in May during our cross country return trip from Palm Desert, California to Kingston, Ontario Canada.
Clean, decorated very nice, bed was very comfy? Breakfast was very nice. The staff checking in was very helpful finding us a good restaurant close by. Checking out the staff was very nice, made sure we were happy with everything.
Room was clean and nice. Very busy but room was quite. Room tempture was easy to adjust. Went from being nice to cooler. Room cleaned each day. Breakfast was ok. Nothing great. Parking was easy to get to room. Ice available as well.
I stayed here with a group of high school students during the FF Convention in Louisville. The hotel was clean and quiet considering there were several HS groups here. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was sufficient. The elevator stalled, but the staff was quick to address the problem.
If you want a highly average room this ids the place. Do not expect top quality anything and you will be very satisfied with this hotel. The food is basic and the room is basic but clean and quiet. They say I need to make this longer so this is me making this longer so that the stupid computer has enough letters to be satisfied.
The title says it all. Friendly staff very reasonable rate for the room. The place is clean however; the lobby hallway and rooms reek of cigarette smoke even though it's a non-smoking hotel. It looks like they've done some renovation lately but they did not go through the effort to get rid of the smell if you are a smoker it won't bother you if you're sensitive to cigarette smoke I suggest you stay somewhere else.
We were on our way back to Ohio and this place was just a stopover. It was very clean, staff was awesome and friendly, down to earth. The breakfast was a full breakfast, so it had hot items and waffles. The were plenty of dining all around the hotel within walking distance. The rooms were clean and big like suites. Very nice hotel and the price was very reasonable.
Great place to stay. The clerk directed us to a place to eat. It was great and we recommend it. Any thing you asked for was directed or shown where to get it . Every place we went was very close to the hotel.
Stayed at this hotel prior and had a terrible time and was not going to choose this hotel again. This was the only area hotel that had the number of days available that we needed this time. Upon arriving Victoria friendly, courteously and knowledgeable signed us in. The bed was comfortable, room was exceptionally been taken care of by Linda from House Keeping. My husband and I had a most relaxing, comfortable 3 nights. Make sure to request Linda from House Keeping as we definitely will, as now we look forward to our next stay when were in that area. The breakfast offered was very nice, always restocked when things went low and food area was always clean. Make your own waffles, biscuits w/sausage gravy, eggs and sausage, good, hot fresh coffee
Great staff, beautiful facility, but smells of smoke. Renovating to be smoke free. Hallways, elevator, lobby and rooms smell of smoke. Loved that breakfast is included till 930am. Smoking poles too close to entryways. As an ashtmatic, non-smoker I was a bit disappointed. However, staff were superb--friendly, helpful, hard working. The black, red and gold decor are just lovely and inviting. Makes it look classy. Great rates on the rooms.
Very nice people. Conveniently located. Just wish my window would have locked. They did have it secured but would prefer windows don't open at all or locked correctly. But overall, it was a clean quiet room.
My grandson was turning 5 and wanted to go swimming . We were traveling to another location and decided to stop overnight because of the pool. The room was clean and all the amenities were available as advertised and worked. Very friendly staff.
Very good hotel. The only one thing i didn't like was the laundry department people didn't remove laundry when others needed to use it. They should add another washer and dryer.Overall the room was excellent and staff was friendly except the one guy that came over didn't know his name he didn't tell me but wanted to know how many nights i was going to be there. I don't think that should have been any of his concern. He was not part part of the front desk made me very uncomfortable. But lisa was the greatest she should be awarded for her good work
