Deciding which hotel to choose can be tough when traveling, but the entire experience was great. They accommodated us in every way. Breakfast with Cortez put the icing on the cake. He kept a smile on his face and had a willingness to serve. Thank you Cortez for becoming family! We appreciate you!
I want to especially commend Cortez who is the man who had prepared the whole breakfast, the breakfast was absolutely Wonderful with omelette and bacon and waffles and different kinds of coffee and yogurt with fresh fruit and cereal for the kids and all kinds of things was just beautifully amazingly done. And also he was very helpful in finding things and preparing them and which machine did what and he was very nice. I love the whole place. It was so clean and everybody -all the staff - were so helpful and nice and cheerful and the room was spacious the beds were really clean and neat and the bathrooms so clean and everything was well organized.
Great Stay! Place is super clean and staff is VERY accomdating to requests. Shout out to Cortez who made the breakfast bar amazing. Best biscuits and gravy!!! Gym was in great shape and super clean. Everyone was super friendly. Beds were very comfortable.
This hotel is great. We have stayed here several times and will do so again when back this way. Very convenient location close to many restaurants and travel routes. The employees are so so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts have been great too.
Very nice hotel. It was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Great location with many restaurants nearby. Some of the restaurants are within walking distance. Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was very good. Good variety: Eggs, Sausage, Hash Browns, Waffles and fresh yogurt machine (Fresh Fruit topping available for both). The breakfast attendant was very friendly. He kept the area very clean and made sure everything was constantly replenished. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the Columbia area. Great stay. Great Price.
This hotel does not deserve a PLUS rating. It was average at best - nothing Plus about it. We used BW points but would have been disappointed if we'd had to pay what the rates were. We'll look elsewhere if we decide to stop in Columbia in the future.
Excellent in every way. Friendly staff, bed and room was comfy, breakfast was delicious and hotel was quiet Breakfast had western omelets, bacon, assorted bread, and cold items. As much free coffee as desired. Parking was free and well lighted
The hotel was nice and updated, it appears that it was recently renovated. The rooms were clean and the spacious. Breakfast was nice with both hot and cold food options. Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
Booked with Expedia. There was a problem with the reservation. Tatyana at the front desk was excellent support in getting it straightened out while also juggling the needs and requests of other customers. Excellent room. Excellent service.
The hotel was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the front desk staff member met our every need. The gentleman who managed the breakfast area was so friendly and helpful. The exercise room equipment worked and looked well-taken care of.
The rooms were clean and the space was comfortable and modern. Breakfast was small but nice for the value. Fitness center a tad small, but nice. Pool area was clean and pool was nice size. My complaint is that the pool area is also used as a main thoroughfare between the back parking lot and the lobby, so while swimming, people will open back door to area and walk through pool area with luggage to get into hotel lobby. It also was very slippery
Clean, updated and beds were comfortable and the room stayed nice and cool all night. The gal that worked the front desk on July 4th at 2pm,( I forgot her name) was super friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 nights in a Best Western this trip and this was the best one.
Great location, right off interstate, but not a lot of noise. Wish entrances were a little more secure but other than that, it worked!
Nice hotel on our cross country trip. Good breakfast, caring staff, clean room and comfortable bed. Would stay again. Gentleman working the breakfast was very nice and tried his best to fix the broken yogurt machine which has become my favorite at Best Western breakfast.
Super comfy 1-night stay in Columbia, MO. Great room, great breakfast, courteous staff. Parking lot was crowded due to many construction trucks parked out back, but they were gone the next morning-probably a large crew stopping overnight and our party didn't check in until after 10pm. Cleanliness of hotel was evident upon entry-no odors, everything visible was very well maintained. Our room was spacious, super-clean & obviously updated. Again, no odors, no dust bunnies behind nightstand, etc. Two travelers with CPAP machines had ample space & plugs to set up on the nightstand between the 2 queen beds. Plenty of fresh fluffy towels and courtesy toiletries for two. Great breakfast.
This hotel is amazing. Wonderful breakfast, swimming pool, snack area, washer/dryer. Would definitely recommend.
There were no extra sheets for the person on the pullout couch, the water in the shower was boiling, the vending machine stole $5. The actual room was very clean and the staff were friendly to me. Maybe rushed, but definitely not rude.
Great staff, Easy on and off the highway although the intersection is really busy. Anything and everything you could possibly need is within a 10 to 15 minute drive for shopping and eating. There's a deck area outside off the back of the pool area which was nice since we had a large family gathering and we had room to spread out. Breakfast was good with a decent variety.
Friendly, helpful, staff. Especially our check in clerk, Megan. Room and common areas were clean and comfortable,
The employees at best western inn were super nice, the breakfast was great and the rooms were clean. They took our vehicle number for extra protection which was nice of them and even gave an extra hr of late check out for free! I would recommend!
There was a build up of dust and debris on the shelf beside the bed. I found long hairs in the shower and on the bed
Quiet, safe and immaculate stay. Lots of breakfast options (including fresh waffles and pancakes)!! Although the place had full capacity (school competitions in town), your staff easily handled the increased load of visitors.
From the warm welcome at the front desk to the fresh, very clean room, the Best Western Plus in Columbia, MO exceeded expectations. Lovely, spacious room with a comfy bed. The hot breakfast had plenty of variety. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. HIghly recommended.
Very clean staff friendly quiet overall I really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend the breakfast went beyond my expectations . The rooms were well equipped tidy bed comfortable I will be staying again
Price was good, room was clean, location was good for an overnight while traveling, and for the most part, the hotel was quiet. Staff members were pleasant. Took forever to get lukewarm water for a shower, and it never got close to hot. Bed was hard, and although a king, the whole bed shifted noticeably when turning over. Breakfast was okay - better than average coffee and otherwise typical, but lacking a few items often offered (oranges, bananas, yogurt, breakfast meat).
recommend to all considering this hotel, STAY HERE! Rooms are clean and very comfortable bed and pillows. Great night sleep. Room is well maintained with new furniture, paint, and very important a CLEAN well-maintained bathroom. The Housekeeping staff should be rewarded and appreciated. The whole property is well maintained with a very welcoming vibe about. My BiL recently turned me on to Best Western and the past few stays have always been great. My now go-to travel hotel. This property sets the standard for BW.
After Mizzou game headed to hotel. Lady at the front desk was extremely enjoyable. Comfortable beds. Quiet throughout the entire hotel. Close to downtown and to any Mizzou event, including athletics. Great stay overall.
Phoned in a reservation from the road. Staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived. Next morning we failed to change to Central time and showed up for breakfast a half hour early. The young man preparing the breakfast area went WAY out of his way to take care of us. Overall, one of the best hotel experineces we've had in a long time..
We missed breakfast so I can't comment. Lobby was bright, staff were very friendly. Bed was comfy, room had absolutely everything you could wish for. Bathroom corners need a scrub, toiletries were great, towels plentiful. A little noisy. Close to highway and we had a stomper upstairs.
By the time we were heading home on a road trip from Massachusetts to Colorado and back, we'd racked up points and discounts with Best Western. So, we were able to splurge a bit. Best Western Plus Columbia Inn isn't particularly pricey anyway, so the discount made me very happy: this is a nice place with all the Best Western Pluses. Also, there's an absolutely fantastic Mexican restaurant almost within walking distance (I wouldn't cross the road by foot): El Jimador. And it's open until 10 PM.
Superb, brand new rooms, pool, hot tub, super clean, hot coffee that was strong as you want and never runs out. Breakfast very good, we thoroughly enjoyed and were surprised at how good this very modestly priced hotel was!
This hotel was nicer than expected. We were greeted and helped by friendly, helpful staff, including a young man named Sai, who checked us out when we left. The hotel was very clean, updated, and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the coffee dispenser which made lattes, cappuccino, and mochas. Overall, a nice place to stay in Columbia, Missouri on our way to Saint Louis.
I enjoyed my stay! It was easy to check in and out. The gym was good with a treadmill, bike, and eliptical. It also had weights and weighted balls. The bed was super comfy!!! The bathroom was nice and everything was very clean!
Although, the hotel was under remodel, we had a good experience. From check-in to check-out, the staff was helpful. The breakfast was hot. The room was clean and bed comfortable. We would stay again.
The hotel has been remodeled. Everything is new. Love having the hot tub and the pool. The beds were very comfortable. Our stay was amazing. Plenty of food even though there was large school groups there. The stuff there was so eager to help in any way possible. Anytime we left the hotel they asked if we needed anything. If we had plenty of towels. Asked if the kids were being too loud. It was all good. They stayed on top of everything. It's convenient too so many restaurants and stores. Some are within walking distance.
While transporting a heavy dump truck across country we spent one night at the Columbia Inn. I mostly stay at Best Western hotels because I find them mostly convenient and consistent. During the night a mechanical issue with the truck resulted in a substantial spill of hydraulic fluid in the parking lot. The management and staff of this hotel went well out of their way in helping us by treating and cleaning up the mess we made. They then refused payment to reimburse for the extra time and expense. While in inconvenience of this problem was troubling, the hotel staff's response went far to make the experience as positive as they could. My highest compliments to this staff and to Best Western.
Service was at or above Best Western Standards Staff was courteous and helpful as well as making sure stay was comfortable and eager to resolve any issues if they arose. Outstanding service I would defiantly recommend this facility if you are traveling in the area
Stay was just ok. Room wasn't the cleanest especially the bathroom. Entire hotel seemed dirty. Staff seemed like they hated their job. Not many breakfast options. Lots of sketchy people hanging around the hotel late at night. Next time I'd spend the extra $25 to stay somewhere nicer.
This hotel reminds me of the statement 'lipstick on a pig.' The desk clerk met me just outside of the entrance. She was standing beside her car smoking a cigarette in what appeared to be loungewear. She asked.if I was checking in, and I responded 'yes.' She followed me inside and checked me in. She was polite and friendly. I always request an upper floor room, but for whatever reason, they gave me first floor rooms and said the upper floors were booked. It was extremely loud in the room from the traffic outside and from the guests overhead. They tried to update the rooms with fresh paint (which was sloppily done) and resurfacing the tub. I still call it, 'putting lipstick on a pig.' I wouldn't go back, and I would not recommend it to others (unless you are on a tight budget).
Even under construction, the Columbia Inn remains both a great value and an exceptionally well maintained property in the Best Western chain. My room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was far better than one usually expects at a mid-range chain hotel. The staff, from the night receptionist to the breakfast crew, is friendly and helpful.
Had a flat tire late Friday night. Eventually got to best western and they were very accommodating considering we had our ESA dog with us. The king size bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was on point. Staff was very kind.
This hotel has been undergoing some updates. The place is nice and clean and everything appears to be new. I used the Wifi while I was there and it was really fast! I used points for this stay and the room I got had a ton of space, which was nice. No issues at all and this was the 2nd time I stayed here in the past 5 years of traveling through Columbia and needing a place to stay. I would stay here again. There is a Steak N Shake right next door if you need a meal. Also really convenient off of I-70.
Under renovation but the work they did in the room I stayed at was very sloppy so far - bathtub caulking was gross, paint slopped everywhere. Weird smell to room and lumpy mattress. Could hear highway.
Sonali checked us in and was wonderful! She was gracias, kind and professional. The rooms were spotless and quiet. I checked in here because the treatment received at the front desk at the Country Inns and Suites was horrible. Checking in with Sonali was a "breath of fresh air". Highly recommend this hotel.
Everything about our stay here was great. It's always nice to not have any “surprises” when you're traveling. Katrina at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
All in all, I found this Best Western a good hotel. As mentioned in the title, it is a bit hard getting there (we happened to hit during rush hour). It is just off the crossing of Highways 70 & 63 and was quite congested when we arrived. Pay attention to directions or use GPS and you'll have little trouble finding it. They were working on some renovations during our stay, but only noticed because we saw workers and materials. Room was comfortable and didn't hear much highway noise. Breakfast looked good, but we ate at a local diner. Coffee available any time. Staff friendly and efficient.
One of the best. Very pleased with service and the location. Easy to get to off I 70. Room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very nice. The food was great. Well worth staying for anyone traveling I 70.
I've come to really like this hotel. It's my home away from home. Katrina and the rest of the staff are always pleasant. They know me by name, which is nice. The new renovation is coming along nicely as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus in Columbia, Missouri for the UGA Missouri game this past weekend. The hotel was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and Katrina was very welcoming. We will visit again.
Nice area. Lots to offer restaurants shopping gas right by property. Plenty of well lit parking. Newly remodeled. Rooms clean and comfy. Quiet. Very nice breakfast and attentive staff. Easy off and on Interstate but quiet
Hi Brandon! Thank you for the best service here! We loved your hospitality, thank you again for taking great care of us and food was delicious! Good service, food and rooms. Can't go wrong with staying here!
10/10 hotel very clean. Staff was super friendly Katrina was very welcoming. The room bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. Tan was very nice. I appreciate the staffs overall treatment. If we weren't on a timed schedule I would extended our stay. One of the best hotels I've ever been to!
Check-in was friendly and quick. Location is good as well. Everything is close. Hallways are in horrible shape. Looks like walls after wallpaper removed. I hope this because you're renovating. However windows were filthy. On my floor, someone drew an outline of a male appendage on the glass using the film on the window as a canvas. Very apparent as you walk down the hall. Why no one has bothered to tag some Windex to this is anyone's guess. During breakfast, someone who I thought was homeless sauntered in and spread out on the couch and started talking loudly. The three staff present didn't seem to respond. After a few minutes, it was apparent the person was actually staff that was arriving for her shift. Not very professional. Neither is staff smoking in the main entrance as guests are checking in.
The night staff was great! They were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was tasty and cleanly presented, However the building itself was in great need of repair and updating. It was very dark and dingy; but the actual room appeared to be clean.
Felt like the hotel was never finished; many things did not work dirty; and incomplete. Outlets not working so could not even charge our cell phones Numbers on the rooms were scotch taped on and hand written would not stay here
Check in and check out was efficient. Dining room staff Kayla and Brandon, so attentive and helpful as well as being charming! Parking and proximity to other food establishments was a plus! Thanks so much for a fine experience!
Beds very comfy. Obviously in middle of reno, but our room pretty and updated. Katrina and Brandon were incredibly friendly during check in and also helpful when we found our tv remote was missing. We'll stay here again.
Just take my word for it DON'T. Traveling through the midwest had such good luck with the previous BEST WESTERN PLUS in Lincoln NE. Oh My do not assume the next state will have anything close...the worst hotel stay I have ever had! Whole place smelled like pine sol! Parking was scarce, hotel room was dark, didn't stay long enough to sample the breakfast offerings. I literally couldn't wait to leave, it was that bad!!
This place was very comfortable, the staff were very polite and helpful. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is, they had it remodeled, they're intentions were good but whoever they hired to do it, did a terrible job.
The hotel is a little dated. Hallways are not the cleanest, but our room was clean and comfortable. The beds were super soft and plush with a pillow top mattress cover. Shower has nice pressure and was amazing after a super-hot humid day of running around. Breakfast has a nice variety, and the area was kept tidy. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Slept better here than I do in my own bed.
The room wasn't clean. There was cereal & other debris on the floor. Housekeeping didn't clean room. Hotel was under renovation but there were no signs advising that. There wasn't an iron in the room. Just not a good experience for myself or my family.
We checked the reviews and they were mixed so we tried it. It was as bad as reported. The motel is still under construction. The room was very noisy, the door did not lock with out help, the breakfast was awful. Worst of all it was NOT A PLUS. The floor was so dusty that we called to have it cleaned. I was handed a wet towel and a dry towel so I could do it myself- picture to follow. The breakfast was nasty. The coffee was from premix boxes. We had to ask to have it refilled and no one knew. Finally the young man at the front desk did it. Found out his is a high school student.
Hotel in under refurbishment! But dirty diapers in the hall, put us in a room that someone else was already in, end doors did not work with card key, and no syrup for breakfast! Staff was great though lady was very apologetic!
This hotel is in complete disarray. The carpet was ripped up in the room, it smelled, the front desk attendant was slow and lazy and not their half of the time, I would never ever recommend this to even my worst enemy. I was there for my son's baseball tournament in Columbia Missouri.
We had a long day of traveling with our grand kids and was looking for a nice place to have for them and enjoy the evening. The lady at the desk was very nice and the check in went well. We started bringing in our overnight bags in and the first thing I noticed was the dis-repair inside the first floor we were staying in. We entered our room and the same dis-repair was evident. Their was a musty smell like maybe their was a water leak at one time. At one point I flushed the toilet and noticed it was flushing very slowly and didn't flush all the way. We also saw mold in the shower area. We were tired and it was late so we all went to bed. In the morning we got breakfast and returned to the room. At one point the toilet was flushed and it overflowed so I turned off the water supply to the toilet. I went down and told the person at the front desk about the situation and she said she would send someone down. Well that never happened. No one showed up. We were getting ready to leave for the rest of our trip so we went ahead and left. This was truly a very disappointing experience and couldn't believe the overall health hazards of this place. DO NOT STAY HERE!
The room was good but the water in the pool was 60 degrees or colder. Hotel was in a great locations with easy access to fuel, groceries and restaurants. Hotel was in a easy access to the highway as well.
The room numbers on floor three were handwritten on paper and taped to the doors. Painting was obviously in progress. The elevator smelled like skunk. The lobby had its own distinctive, disgusting smell. Someone had held the pool door to outside open with a stone, which is super secure. There was a gross bug on the super-small sink vanity and hair in the tub. Someone screamed to someone else on our floor just as we were about to go to bed. I pushed the desk chair against the room door and slept in contacts in case there was a disturbance in the middle of the night. From 7-year-old Ellie: it was bad. I was so spooky, too. The doors creaked when you open them and it had very bad lighting. We had to switch rooms because our toilet was making a weird sound that was as loud as a bulldozer every thirty seconds. The pillows were soft, though. The pool looked gross when I walked by. When I was in the room, I was trying to write a book but I couldn't get any peace and quietness. I heard loud noises in the hallway. Our toilet couldn't flush for a few times until mama figured out you had to hold it down for a while.
Very nice! Newly renovated. Big room with everything you need. Very quiet although next to the highway. Helpful staff. We were given the best price as Reward members and we appreciated how easy it was to make a reservation. Definitely will stay here on the return trip. Large indoor pool but didn't use it.
They are pretty much done with the renovation to where it didn't affect us. Courtney and Sonali are a great pair. Rooms are hilton and Marriott grade and a competitive price. Will stay there on all my visits with my team members for rest of the year.
They were working on renovations at the time of our visit and still managed to provide a clean environment. The breakfast selections were very good and fresh. The Inn was very easy to find and had ample parking.
My stay at best like visiting a fun house, little children carrying on which I understand as a parent, but endless carrying on by teenagers and older young adults. With water fights in the hallways, running up and down the hallways on the second and third floor. It wasn't an experience I planned on after a long day of driving across the county. This last trip of mine was spent at a Best Western location but my next planned travel I feel that I should explore other options. The food selection was average, but the eggs were too salty to eat
Stayed here for 2 nights visiting our granddaughter who is attending college in Columbia. They were remodeling and had signs posted BUT the carpet specifically on the first floor was littered with painters tape and had smudges of paint all over it. The lack of dusting properly in our guest room was less than desirable. At least 2 of the outlets in our room were not in working order.
Booked reservation online and there was no advance information about the construction of the the hotel Lots of construction - dust, smell, painting and tape, undone floors, etc. Loud noise from Interstate next to hotel Employees were overwhelmed and no breakfast help showed up
They are super friendly. Good food for breakfast, and clean rooms.they are remodeling, but still clean and safe. Wifi worked great. TV was easy to use...however inly decaf coffee in my room. Staff was welcoming!
The check in employee seemed to be in drugs and took thirty minutes to get us our room keys. Once we got up to our room the keys did not work. Went back down to wait in line for another thirty minutes. Once we got in the room we had to separate families walk into our room. The hotel gave out our room to other people twice while we were in it. This happened to several guest. One guest had to threaten to call the cops if the hotel had people walk into his 15 year old daughters room again. Website said nothing about remodel and it was hard to navigate the hallways and elevator because of construction workers. Nothing was said as an apology or offered for the inconvenience. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone
Looked like a run down disaster. Pool out of order. Crack heads came on the morning while we were in the dining area and stealing food. Just crazy. When we were attempting to leave the crackhead that loaded up her plastic bag with muffins and everything she could steal about ran into my vehicle. Just wanted to get out of there and get on the road.
The first room they put us in was currently under construction so we had to ask for another. It looks like the lower level rooms are completed. Sad to not have the pool/hot tub available, either. The kids were looking forward to that. I want to say Brandon who made breakfast did a good job and was careful about keeping the area clean. The staff was friendly.
Disappointed that pool and hot tub under construction as we called when we booked were assured it was working. Brandon did an excellent job keeping all breakfast items available for guest and demonstrates excellent customer service!
The website made NO MENTION of construction, nor did it mention that the pool would be unavailable. After driving 8 hours, this was NOT a welcome discovery. Construction dirt, dust and other nasty stuff tracked right into our room and the baby couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him down to play after just sitting in his seat for hours. And my older kids and toddler had no good way to burn off all their energy from sitting for hours either. Altogether we were HIGHLY disappointed. The staff was very kind and helpful but that's about all the good I have to say about this place.
Granted, this place is under renovation, but, it still was a poor choice on our part. Very dingy, dusty and just plain a mess. And VERY overpriced considering the circumstances. Really not much good to say other than a fairly good breakfast bar and a great morning person (didn't get her name) at checkout. For management that might read this, room 312's door could probably open by just leaning on it. About a 1/2 inch play at the door lock. Bathroom door is too big for the opening. It will not shut tightly. And what's with all the little "gnat" type bugs flying around. Future travelers might want to wait till mid summer before staying here. It has a lot of potential, just not now.
My Mom is in the University Hospital here in Columbia MO. Couldn't spend the night with her so checked in at this Best Western Plus. Got up early and had the most delicious breakfast!! Brandon did a fabulous job of cooking tasty food and was very attentive to guests needs. Highly recommend!
The rooms smelled, no coffee pot or refrigerator in the room. Price outrageous at 250.00 plus. Made a six day trip from OR to NC stayed at Best Westerns every night paying less than 150.00 per night. This place was a disgrace.
The establishment was neat/clean enough. The clerk was friendly & tried to be helpful. The room was very small. There was no luggage rack to set a suit-case on and only 1 trash receptacle. The bed was good. Watching TV was all guesswork since no channel guide was available. The stay was fine considering it was only for 1 night.
I suppose this particular Best Western would be acceptable as a basic Best Western property, but it definitely falls short of the criteria for a Best Western Plus. Check in took well over 20 minutes because the desk clerk couldn't find my reservation even though I had a Best Western confirmation number. He finally found it but wanted to charge me 35% more than the rate showing on my confirmation. It took another 10 minutes to convince him that I should only have to pay the rate showing on my confirmation. I asked for a room away from traffic noise. The clerk's response was, “I don't know where the rooms are.” Really??! The hotel (lobby, room, bathroom) met basic standards but certainly don't warrant BW Plus status. The hallway carpet is extremely worn. Room furnishings were basic with little concern for decor. The hot tub water was only luke warm. When I got to my room, I realized the desk clerk hadn't written the internet password in the keycard sleeve. Not a big deal to call the front desk….Except the phone cord wouldn't stay in the receiver so it took 3 hands and 2 tries to actually use the phone. Regarding that request to get a room away from the traffic noise — no such luck. I was right on the interstate. Maybe the hotel was full and there was no alternative, but a little thought and concern from that desk clerk would've been nice. I put out the Do Not Disturb sign but that didn't stop housekeeping from knocking on my door 3 times between 10 and 11 AM. At exactly 11AM, I got a call wanting to know when I was vacating the room. Of course even answering the phone was a challenge due to the already discussed broken cord. Obviously the hotel was a lot more interested in getting rid of me than they were in seeing to it that I was happy. Next time, I'll stay elsewhere.
After a long day of travel our clean, spacious room was very inviting. The evening check in staff was very nice. The next morning Brandon had prepared an excellent breakfast and kept the area clean and stocked. It was the best breakfast we've ever had at a hotel. We highly recommend Best Western in general because they are consistently good but we really recommend this one in Columbia, Mo as our favorite.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Couldn't ask for a better stay. The room was clean the lobby was clean everything was clean. Check in and check out was quick and they accommodated everything I asked for.
The gentleman who prepared the breakfast on 10/4/21 did a phenomenal job. He was on top of refilling all of the food, cleaning tables, and everything was yummy. He wash also kind and courteous. All around great experience.
The lobby are was attractive and very clean, same for halls. The room was spacious and clean. The front desk staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was wonderful. The person in charge of that was exceptional. Excellent experience in all areas!
Nice property close to Interstate. Restaurants and shops are close by so easy to get whatever's you need. Plenty of parking and area well maintained. Room was quiet and decent sized. Hot water comfortable bed. Breakfast was good considering everything. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Very clean
Have stayed at this hotel previously. Very convenient to I70. Good parking even with a truck and trailer. Pool was under renovation at the time. Good breakfast selection. Nice rooms, friendly service.
Comfortable rooms. The hotel staff is amazing. Brandon makes sure breakfast and coffee are hot every morning and always greets you with a smile. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing accommodations in the area.
Right off the highway. Easy access. Close to a lot of businesses. It's clean. Needs a bigger parking lot. it's so so for a Best Western Plus. But in a pinch I guess I would stay here if needed. Tv service seemed to be pretty good.
The hotel is nice. Its less than ten minutes from the university and right off the highway but you can't hear the traffic. The breakfast is hot and good. The beds are very comfortable and its very easy to get to.
From the moment you pull up you can tell they care. The outside is nice, and well maintained. The inside tile floors shine so much you can see yourself. The rooms are clean, and the beds are truly the most comfortable we've slept in (makes us want to stay longer), the staff is friendly, and the food is good. :) This is the only place we stay when we come to town.
Why do old hotels insist on using such pungent cleaners? The smell in the rooms is overpowering. Definitely smells like they are covering up smoke or pets or other smelly smells. I wouldn't stay here again. It's run down and in need of updating.
There are plenty of other hotels and motels in this area that are better than this one for the same price of cheaper. Do not stay at this rat hole with trash meth addicts working at night. Most rude and least helpful front desk staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. So rude that I chose to check out a day early and was refused a refund, even though I tried to checkout at 11am which was the checkout time they listed on my reservation.
Hotel is good for the price. It does seem to be in an unsafe area (several homeless people in and around the parking lot) and the lobby and hallways had a musty odor. Breakfast was good and beds were fairly comfortable.
Unacceptable accommodations - Entire building had an offensive oder - carpet in halls and stairways were stained and in horrible condition - in the room the shower curtain and ceiling had mold present - the entire room smelled terrible ! Carpet was disgusting ! Never again ! Best Western Plus Mold Mildew and the smells to go with it !!
Room was clean but musty. Coffee pot was full of water. Swimming pool and hot tub were disgusting. Water in both was cloudy and trash was around the area. Breakfast and staff were good. This place needs some management attention!!! The GM should be ashamed.
On June 20, 2021 I reserved a room at the Best Western Plus Columbia Inn in Columbia, Missouri, guaranteed for a late arrival. After driving for hours through a terrible thunderstorm, I arrived at the hotel at 10:30 PM to find it completely blacked out. They had lost electrical power. They could not open the electric sliding glass door, so I shouted through the door to them to cancel my reservation because there was no way for me to get into my room. They told me that they had canceled the reservation and I left. A few days later I learned that they had charged me for the room that I never was able to use. I called them and asked them to refund the charge and they agreed. But they didn't. A week later I called again; they agreed to refund the charge but did not. Finally, I called a THIRD time and they assured me that they had refunded my money – but they still haven't. It has been nearly a month and they have not refunded my money for a room that they could not provide me on the night of June 20. Why are they charging me for the room?
Thought we'd give this hotel a try. Because it said it was a Best Western Plus that it would be a little higher quality Best Western type of hotel. Ultimately it was just an average tired looking hotel Best Western. Staff was courteous though…no complaints about them.
The Room: The room is old. There was mold in the bathroom. The shower didn't work. The toilet ran all night. The front desk didn't care. I didn't know the shower didn't work before the pool/hot tub, so it was fun smelling like chlorine the entire next day. The carpet is really old. The room looks like they stopped halfway through a renovation. One nice wall, old and smelly carpet. Nice comfortable beds, peeling wallpaper. The Pool: The pool was pretty cold. The hot tub was hot, almost too hot, with zero jets. This makes it the equivalent of an overly hot bathtub. The Internet: There's no password required, so use at your own risk. There are 2 fast food restaurants close enough to use the wi-fi, so it's really slow and disconnects often. The Lobby: Looks nice and updated. The front desk is apathetic towards any issues. Maintenance doesn't come in until 9am - so hopefully your room is in working order! The Breakfast: Pretty lame. This one is the low scale of Best Western breakfast. We had biscuits - dry with gravy - solidified with a crust in the container. We were there at 7:45am, I'd hate to know what it looked like for the 8:45am people since breakfast went until 9am. The location is okay. Right against the freeway, which I knew from google maps. It's a very easy on and off I-70, and there are plenty of dining options within 1-2 miles.
One of the better Best Westerns we have stayed at. Friendly staff with fast check in and check out. The breakfast was outstanding . We will stay here again. Convenient location. Only problem was a dog barking but not the hotels fault.
We made a reservation from the car and came in rather late. While checking in Sonali offered to take our luggage up to the room which was greatly appreciated. Our dog followed her upstairs and was settling in when we arrived. The bed was comfortable, the room and common areas were spotless and the following morning when my wife went to breakfast Sonali's sister offered to bring me a breakfast tray to the room. Best service ever!
We stayed at this hotel and it was a terrible experience! Our room and the building were literally falling apart. The front desk staff said that the pool wasn't open until the city inspector could come out. Additionally, staff also said that none of the other building doors worked, so we could only enter through the front. The 3rd floor room we had was not structurally stable - the shower floor moves and the floor in the main room creaked/bowed anytime we walked. All the walls to the shower were overly caulked where things were coming apart and putty filled I many holes and damage throughout the room. We reported the poor conditions to the front desk staff and manager, and were told the conditions were acceptable to them. Overall the building was in poor shape and it's unfortunate that staff find it accommodating. We have had great experiences with every other Best Western we've stayed at, but save yourself and stay at a different nearby hotel.
Pool closed due to maintenance- didn't find this out until I checked in and my kids were so disappointed! If you are a pet person then this is a good place for you. However, I am not a pet person. Apparently guests can have pets on ANY floor because there were dog hairs on the hallway carpeting that badly needed vacuuming. I will say that the beds were comfortable, clean and relaxing enough that when I was woken up ONCE by the barking dog in the next room I fell back asleep shortly thereafter. But the icing on the cake is that apparently the front desk staff for both the evening and the overnight shifts are SO new they, “don't have access to the portal yet and can't enter the gift card codes.” Best Western Rewards Members need to note this. My whole reason for picking this hotel was because of the advertised indoor pool and my ability to use the electronic gift cards received from the Best Western Rewards system. Instead NONE of my Best Western Reward gift card codes were applied to my stay. Had I known what I know now…I would have stayed somewhere else.
First impressions are lasting impressions. As soon as we walked in, bam, a smell of wet towels hits us. The pictures online are deceiving. This is a very pet-friendly hotel. Dogs on every floor and sadly we don't think the staff and management do not clean very well. We found pet hair (we think) on the bed covers on both beds, just nasty. The stairway is dirty and smells bad. The shower curtains are not clean and have stains. Window curtains have stains. The ceiling above light has a stain. This is next to the freeway and behind Stake and Shake and Bob Evans. I am not sure if they actually clean and replace linens to be perfectly honest. I am very disappointed with my experience at this Best Western Plus.
The Best Western Plus hotel in Columbia is what I should have expected for the price. The appearance on the outside was not great and I regretted booking there the moment I pulled in. It is also a difficult area to navigate right off I-70 with the busy intersection and traffic surrounding the hotel. The hotel seem dirty and outdated. The remodels that have been done were done well. The walls and ceiling were all different kinds of white. The room was very humid like the window didn't have a great seal. Breakfast was not completely ready for about 15 minutes after when it was supposed to be which was an issue because I was on a time crunch. I would not stay here again. I would just spend the extra money to stay somewhere else next time.
Great location right off the interstate, room and service. Check in easy with pleasant staff, room was clean, bed and pillows comfortable, towels very soft, hot breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs not powdered. Staff gave good recommendations places to eat. Would stay again.
The last serveral stays (at other hotels) were unpleasant so the fact that this one was so clean and comfortable with a good breakfast made it a rea stand-out! I highly recomment this one due to the fact that is was so clean, the staff was wonderful and the breakfast was good.
I stayed here for a couple of nights and upon arrival I knew that this was the hotel for me. The staff was extremely friendly and catering to all of my needs and wants. One particular staff member by the name of Natalie Lock made my stay completely satisfying. This young lady went above and beyond the call of duty to make every single guest happy by my observation. No building is perfect by no means and there was a minor issue but she handled it professionally and even gave me a $24 discount when she didn't have to and for that I rate it EXCELLENT!!! Natalie Lock I bow and tilt my hat for you are truly an asset to the company!
The area around the front desk was small making it difficult if several were in line and others bringing in baggage. The room was rather small. But these things can be overlooked as the staff were very pleasant and helpful, Steak and Shake and Jim Evans were right next door, and the breakfast was wonderful. Breakfast sandwiches were made for us, tater tots, Greek yougurt, nice fruit selection. The location was good right off I-70 and 63. I would definitely stay here again.
husband, 20 lb dog and i stayed here on saturday march 20, 2021....walked into the room and the smell about knocked me down....the smell of dog urine on carpet was beyond awful....we tried to get another room but they were booked up....tried to go to a different hotel but no vacancies....it was 10pm and we had no choice but to stay....complained to manager on duty and i think she credited some part of the charges.....this room needs to be blocked off and have a complete makeover....we've stayed at many fine best western plus but this was beyond awful....many dogs were staying at this hotel with a $20 a night charge....replace the carpet people!!....wonder if all rooms smell like this?.....the whole building needs to be renovated.
Good mattress a great night's sleep, could have bigger, more firm pillows. The rooms are always nice and clean. Breakfast was good, not much variety. I would recommend this hotel , not fancy but clean and comfortable!
Had wonderful service and a great room! Nice big room and bathroom in a great area! The breakfast was served to us to meet COVID restrictions and it was excellent with a wonderful service from the young lady service it!
I was traveling cross county and needed a room to rest for the night. This fit the bill as a nice room at a low price. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The location right off the interstate and was a little hard to get in and out of during rush hour.
I have stayed at this motel several nights. Everyone employed has a great customer service attitude. I enjoy my stays. I would recommend you use this hotel on all visits to the Columbia Missouri area.
Great hotel! Very clean nice people. The front desk manager Courtney was very sweet. I needed more towels at the 3am and they delivered and i was like WOWWWWWW! The owner Sonali was very nice as well. The managers son Kush helped me out fix the TV. That man is gonna do great in life. He was funny knew what he was doing and was very respectful. The lady that checked me in Linda was helpful. She told me about the coffee they have thats 24/7, why I dont know but its amazing. They sanitized the hotel everyday around the same time. And the breakfast was so good. I dont usually like hotel breakfast but the eggs were AMAZING. OOH and don't get me started on those delicious muffins. They weren't homemade but they were oh so goooooooooooooooood!
I stayed due to having to have a surgery the next day! The accommodations was a good experience! Glad of the acceptance of pets due to having one that I didn't have to leave alone.Great staff and very helpful.
We had been driving all night and didn't get in until 2am. Lisa was very accommodating over the phone and when we got there. Room was clean and there was some snacks we could purchase at the front! My only complaint would be the gentleman serving breakfast that morning. He wasn't friendly and it felt awkward asking for anything. It was a hot breakfast which we were grateful for.
New owners have taken over the hotel and they have added a privacy fence and are working on new renovations. Staff is friendly and the hotel is clean. Several local restaurants are very close and easy to get to. Rooms look nice!
This hotel was nice for an overnight room. The room was clean and the staff was great. I will say that the room was relatively small but for one night it was fine. Also, the hotel is a bit older and a little dated but much more important was the fact that it looked and smelled clean! We had a issue with our remote but they quickly brought us a new one - problem solved! Nice, clean, friendly hotel.
The room was very clean. You can tell the housekeepers are thorough and the staff are all so friendly and nice. I'll definitely stay again! Affordable, safe, and clean. You'll leave feeling appreciated.
We really enjoyed our stay there , your staff was very attentive and perfessional and your breakfast was amazing your cook Michael was wonderful we have no complaints and the hotel was very clean will be back again this is our go to place there.
I wanted to compliment Molly, who checked us in and could not have been more welcoming. She is the reason I am writing the review. The room is freshly remodeled--nothing fancy but clean and adequate. If I had read about the break-ins, I might not have stayed here, but we will bring our valuables inside. It is a good value.
Molly was great I had concerns about my truck as it was full of work tools she let me park it by front door and by the camera was very pleasant and helpful room was clean and comfortable would stay again
Myself, husband, and an employee spent 5 nights at the Best Western in Columbia. While the area was a little sketchy, the interior of the hotel was wonderful. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the modified breakfast was quick and easy! My biggest complaint would be the inability to close the curtains to block out the street lamp outside our window!
What the description want tell you is there is a homeless camp across the parking lot under the bridge. They have had multiple break-ins 2 nights in a row. And the security cameras are not working so if some does break in your car there is nothing they can do about it.
So, I chose this hotel because it was along my route, and because it advertised good practices around COVID-19. I'm in route to see my dad, who is elderly and about to have a heart surgery, so it's super important for me to be careful in my travels. Well, not a SINGLE staff member in the hotel is wearing a mask. Not one. Not the people at the front desk, and not the cleaning people I passed in the halls. Which kind of defeats the purpose of those stringent cleaning standards, you know? If they're even telling the truth about that. According to their own website, "Hotel employees will follow strict guidelines, including utilizing Personal Protective Equipment, frequent and stringent hand-washing protocols, and housekeepers/laundry staff will wear both gloves and a mask." Nope. If I'd known they were going to be this irresponsible, I'd have either looked elsewhere or just camped. I'm livid. Sure, it's probably easier to make $$ if you're not strict on masks, especially in a climate where most people think the pandemic is make-believe, because they haven't *personally* been affected by it. But if you so flagrantly put profits above people, you deserve to be shut down.
I was unnerved to see the mask ordinance was not being enforced at Best Western Plus. I saw 5-6 people without a mask on as we were registering. I asked the woman at the front desk if masks were required in public places in the city of Columbia. She said they were required, but didn't seem concerned because she had a shield to protect herself. If I would have known this hotel was going to ignore Columbia's mask ordinance, I would have never stayed here. You need to be upfront and tell your customers that you will not be enforcing Boone County's mask order.
Me and my wife stayed last week in this hotel it was clean, service was great! Very affordable. Breakfast is very good and fresh.we see Owner there She say she is new owner but she's very nice and polite with customer
I always think it's a must to be recognized when doing such an outstanding job going above and beyond what you need to do at your workplace! I stayed at this location with my great grandmother and son. I called about an hour out to ask for my air to be bumped up so it wasn't too cold and extra towels, and blankets upon arrival. I assumed I would pick them up at front desk but she went over and beyond and had them already put up nicely in my room!!! Also at perfect temp for my great grandmother! I also asked if the young lady Could possibly have breakfast just maybe 15 minutes early because we had to be on the road right when it was due to start...and she said absolutely!!! She even made us up bags to quickly grab and go!! She also was kind enough to bring me 2 cups of coffee to my room first thing waking up when I called down to ask!!! She would over and beyond and made our stay one we will never forget and we will most definitely be back!!! The hospitality is outstanding and our room was very clean and nice!! The lobby was very nice and clean also!!!! Thank you so much for the great stay and see ya soon!!!!!
I stayed there & I feel like home new management is awesome very very friendly specially hotel owner she is so polite and friendly & helpful room was so nice & clean I would give 10/10 i recomend that
Our daughter was going to college at MIZZOU, we stayed here a year ago and found it to be a great place to stay. The staff is exceptional and willing to help you with anything you need and they do it with a smile :) The hotel is very clean, the floor in the lobby is so shiny you can almost see your reflection. This will be the place we stay when we come to visit our daughter while she is in school.
My family stayed here while i was moving to college. It was a great spot. My family enjoyed talking to the staff and the room was nice and cold. I found everything to be in order. Please consuder this hotel for your stay in columbia.
The lobby did not prepare us for how dirty the room was. Upon walking in the door handles were sticky and the bathroom floor was as well. All of the countertops were dirty with some sort of residue on them. We took about an hour to sanitize the room before we were even comfortable setting our travel items down. Would not stay here again unless there were assurances that the rooms were cleaned properly.
My wife and I stayed here and had a great experience starting with Linda who checked us in and went out the way to help us find things around the town to do during covid-19. Overall the room was clean. I didn't find any issues that would make it an unpleasant stay. Their breakfast had prepackaged food items to assure everything is safe to eat. We also would recommend walking over to Bob Evans if you want brunch!
Traditional hotel. Staff is very new and still is figuring out the hotel. However, they went out of their way to help with my luggage when they saw me struggling. Room was spotless and breakfast is on par especially with other hotels in my travels not offering it
Hotel just got taken over by new ownership. They are very nice and accommodating especially taking the Pandemic into consideration. The manager was checking me out and gave me a sneak peak of what they'll be renovating (pretty much everything even though it already looks great). Currently, my room was very clean and I even moved the furniture to see if I could find dust. I found nothing! (thats a first). Breakfast was normal during my stay according to the recent pandemic and the new team taking over. However, they said that there will be a warm made to order breakfast starting as soon as possible. Overall, its the staff that made the location fun and I will come back especially when the new upgrades to come by next year.
This facility lacks management, maintenance, and safety. Do yourself (and your family) a favor, and keep driving! Safety is a non-factor with the hotel staff. The desk staff told people that it was fine to block the exterior doors open since the key-activated locks don't work. When the lack of attention to safety really got to us was the next morning when my wife took the dog out for a walk and was accosted by a vagrant and was followed back into the hotel. I went out thinking that I'd probably be left alone, but the fellow then accosted me and threatened me (and my dog, for good measure). He then followed me into the hotel. I asked the desk clerk for assistance--she barely looked up from whatever she was doing and said, "I called the police non-emergency number twenty minutes ago." Apparently there is not a protocol with the staff on what to do about the folks roaming the property and harassing guests. Unfortunately, Best Western corporate has been no help, and finding the management group of the hotel has been impossible. As for the facilities, our room seemed clean, but beat-up. Worse than the average Best Western. Do yourself a favor. Don't stay here. Consider going on down the road and avoiding the area at I-70 and University all together.
Hotel is very dirty. Night staff is unprofessional. Bugs in room... see attached pictures. Stay at your own risk!!! No hairdryer in room. When checked in. Employee brought her dog to work...unprofessional employees. Midnight staff extremely rude.
Rooms were dirty. They moved us twice then told us they didnt have any more rooms available. We still had two nights stay and do to them charging us upfront rather then at check out I didnt have the extra money in my savings account to pay for that hotel and another one
Where to even start? The front desk clerk was horribly rude at check in and again at check out. She could not answer questions related to our bill and asked me to explain it to her?! They turned off the water without notifying any of the rooms and one of the members or our party was mid-shower when the water went off. The hotel is filthy. The breakfast room did not get vacuumed the entire weekend and was regularly out of most items. The one evening around 9:30 the front desk clerk was nowhere to be found. That's because she left the premises in a car. When she came back the smell of marijuana was intense. She then yelled at us stating she had been sitting there for 4 hours and no one needed anything. So she got up to "take the trash out" and we show up. I have stayed at numerous hotels in Columbia over the last decade and have never had an experience like this. Stay anywhere but here! I could add many many more items to my list of complaints. I filed the complaint with corporate and the hotel refused to address any of the issues.
Room was filthy, mirrors had knot been cleaned ever, bathroom floor was sticky, dust everywhere, one bed had not been made up and linens were piled on the end of the bed. Elevator was filthy. Hallways were filthy. Housekeeping staff, when she did arrive was rude and profane. Have never experienced this at a Best Western before.
I honestly don't even know where to begin... our entire stay was a disaster to say the least. The only reason i am giving it 2 stars is because the manager did attempt to make it right and took some money off our room. We got into out room and it appeared to be clean. My son was playing with a ball and it rolled under the bed and he pulled out an empty plastic juice bottle and a leg to a plastic baby doll, neither of which were ours. Then when we went to use the bathroom for the first time, we discovered that the toilet was not clean. We had some friends staying in the hotel as well and they found almost no toilet paper in their room and a bar of half used soap left in the soap dish. When they asked the front desk for more toilet paper, the front desk wasn't able to locate any. The pool was freezing to the point where it probably could have given someone hypothermia. Later in the night our smoke detector started beeping. The battery was going dead. 24 hours later and it still wasn't fixed. We slept the 2nd night with no smoke detector because we took it off the wall and down to the front desk. We asked multiple times for it to be fixed and they didn't fix it. From my understanding as well, the second floor was out of power for quite some time during our stay. Luckily we were not effected by this. The side doors would also not allow you in, even with your key card. The breakfast was mediocre. My husband and his fellow soldier said the potatoes were better on deployment than what they were at the hotel. When returning from dinner the first night, the hotel entrance and front desk area smelled very heavily of weed. The side doors were also not accessible even with the key cards. While we were packing up to head out, I checked under the chair to make sure no toys were there. I found about 7 cheese balls. We didn't have any. The curtain was also covered in mold. When my husband came back up from loading the car, he said we needed to wait for things to settle down downstairs. the police had been called to the property and the man at the front desk quit on the spot due to the incident. They offered to move our room but with two dogs and a 3yo that made it very difficult as we were already settled and unpacked. The manager did give a discount for the troubles. Overall I was not satisfied and we will not be staying again. We have stayed at many best westerns and we enjoy them but this one is in need of serious help and a deep clean. It has no business being a "plu
After 12 hours of driving in the rain last night, Front desk at this hotel would not honor a paid reservation for our son thru hotels.com for a room for 1 person and one cat. They said all the "pet rooms" were taken, but they had previously accepted our reservation for one person and one cat. Later a different desk person informed that the front desk clerk could have given him any room and that this should never have happened. Rude and disgusting treatment. We switched to the Hampton Inn, who graciously helped. So unnecessary.
My family consists of military veterans and first responders...WORST HOTEL in Columbia!!! Don't stay here...EVER! My family has been at this hotel for several days. Rooms are never cleaned, dust and dirt everywhere, floor underneath sink was disgusting, trash was not emptied, no toilet paper, no food at breakfast, no juice, no milk for cereal, rotten eggs, no plates, no napkins, no coffee, nothing for dry bagels and soooo dirty! Ridiculous, lazy, attendant leaves tip jar for providing no food, no service and her cocky attitude and rudeness! Staff eats more breakfast food than is left for paying customers! There is a pile of vomit at the side entry door and cigarette butts everywhere. Our door keys malfunctioned SEVERAL times per day. Heater sounds like a hurricane blowing! Took a picture of dust covered areas...my daughter suffers from asthma and she is so ill from the excessive dirt and dust!!!! This hotel needs to be shut down by the health department!!! I live in Texas, but grew up in Columbia. I am appalled that during our Xmas vacation (visiting family) this year, that Best Western would treat holiday guests with such rude staff and disgusting conditions!! Buyer beware!!!
Eating places close by. Good location, but noisy Interstate. Dark rooms. Clean. Facilities in good shape. Staff needs to be more responsive to needs of the guests instead of doing their own thing and listening to music.
This hotel charged me $40 extra for my two dogs. I have one senior dog that is 15 years old and has a hard time getting around. They have no pet rooms on the first floor so we stayed on the second floor. The halls are carpeted but when you reach the ground floor it is slick tile or marble surface which is hard for an elderly dog to walk on. In the morning I went to the breakfast and found that the hot food was all gone at 7:30. There were only four other people there and one of them asked for waffle batter and the reddish blonde hair lady gave them an excuse why she didn't have any ready. I got a cup of coffee and a muffin while she blamed the night crew for the food not being ready. An hour later we checked out and wanted a cup of coffee but there wasn't any. This was Thanksgiving morning and it wasn't busy. Except very busy making excuses. I paid the most here, and received the least of any property during a 7 night trip.
First of all, Im willing to bet that a lot of people will choose to go here because they are unable to get a hotel at Fort Jackson (or closer) because of BCT graduations. You will see a LOT of people here just for that. That being said, I cannot say enough great things about the place. The location is very decent. While not that close to Fort Jackson, it isn't that far either. As a matter of fact, you can get here to there in ten minutes (or under as I tried to hehe) if you're lucky enough. The room that we got had one king size bed and one pullout bed, enough for a small family to be honest. It came with a refrigerator and microwave as well as a sink if you wanted to do some of your own food prep. The water pressure was great. Parking is easy as there are multiple entrances into the hotel. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is basic and simple but very satisfying to start the day off (the 24 hour coffee machine was welcome as well). I liked the fact that there were laundry machines on the 2nd floor which we found to be very handy. There is an ironing board/iron included in the room as well. The pool was closed so I can't speak on that but the exercise room was not. It was serviceable for what you need to do to get your workout in. There are also barbecue grills but Im not sure if they are usable. I guess you have to ask to use them. There is a Waffle House next door. Lizard's Thicket (gotta love that Southern food) across the street as well as iHop, Outback, and a bunch of other restaurants nearby. There is a gas station further down the road as well if you rented a car and perhaps need to gas up before you return it to the airport. All the employees were extremely helpful and courteous. If you need some food/snack items or sundries you can always get what you need at the front desk. Theres a business center on the first floor as well if you need to take care of some things. In short, if you need a great place to stay while you're in town, you will be in good hands should you choose to be here. Well done Best Western. My first stay at this chain was a very, very good one.
I stayed with my family for 3 days at the hotel don't even know where to begin the room was dirty the shower walls had hair everywhere the bed had a stain the front desk attendant had a big attitude breakfast was a mess cold gross and the pool was ice cold my little one hurt his toe I asked for a ban-dad was told the don't have any asked for my room to be cleaned came back it wasn't touched waited 2 hours for some one to come at least to empty the trash and bring new towels will never come back don't recommend this place at all
The eggs were cold and dry, the potatoes cold and greasy. The attendant sat with her back to the room, fully engrossed in her phone, and beneath a blaring TV. Easily the least appetizing breakfast I've encountered at any Best Western. The night before, while asleep, I was rousted out of my room by the desk clerk, who stated that his computer showed the room as unoccupied. This, from the person who checked me in a few hours earlier. The next morning I spoke to the manager about this bizarre episode, and we agreed that the clerk may need more training. Once the dust settled, I was able to get a decent sleep after using my ear plugs to block the freeway noise.
We spent two nights here while visiting relatives, we were in room 302 which is facing l-70 so you get a lot of highway noise starting very early. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was a big let down, they had sausage patties and some plain potatoes that was not very tasteful. They did have cold boiled eggs if you like them, the waffle maker worked good and they did have skimmed milk. It's located in good place with a Steak and Shake next door. We have been in some non Plus BW's that were much better. We might stay again but not in room 302.
Solid hotel for just one night crush. Best Western was good. I think they ahouls charge less foe what they offer. Maybe is better if u stay different place. We were super tired and this what great for 1 night omly.
This Best Western is an ideal place to stay. Cleanliness of the lobby as well as the rest of the motel. Room was very clean and spotless and didn't have a damp or musty smell as previously stated in other reviews. Check in and out went exactly as planned. Bed was comfortable and pillows are fantastic, where can I get one ? Great job Best Western and staff. Wife stated that the cleaning crew were fantastic Thanks Mr. Larry
Traveled to Columbia, MO to visit family. First stay at this facility. Good access from highway, close to gas station, restaurants, interstate, etc. Had made reservations, requests were fulfilled. Check in easy. Room small but very clean. Did not have a microwave, disappointing. Good variety at breakfast but prepared food items: eggs, sausage, gravy, etc was barely warm. Happened on both mornings, disappointing. Not necessarily a deal breaker but food could be better prepared.
- scalding hot or ice cold shower, no in-between - dirty iron stains clothes - bring your own water to gym - TV remotes don't work well - thin walls and floors - hear everything around you and above you...get a high room
I stayed here and got charged $209 for a Friday Night during Parent's weekend and there was a Mizzou football game on Saturday evening; I would never have paid that much money if it was coming out of my wallet, but the travel agency for the company that I work made the decision. The musty smell when I walked in the room was my first clue that this place wasn't great. The bathroom/shower is about what you'd expect in a Motel 6. The bed was decent but the overall experience for the price was awful. I asked for a late checkout to use the pool the next day and was denied because they had so many people staying the next night on Saturday.
Not typical for most Best Westerns, no shampoo in the room, had to enter through the swimming pool area, several maintenance type rooms had doors open. Smelled smoke in the hallway. i know its hard to stop people from smoking if they are simply breaking the rules.
It is a nice quiet centrally located motel. The beds were very comfortable. Great fast WiFi. I was able to watch Netflix on my laptop with no streaming delays. I enjoyed the fitness center and hot tub.
Had misfortune to rent a room here. Assigned us a room under construction. Torn up bathroom - no sheets on bed. Got another room. Very musty mouldy smell. It was late at night, decided to stay. At 1:30 am got phone call- no one there. Five minutes later knock on door - no one there. Five minutes later someone unlocked dood and attempted entry. Luckily chain was on door. Called front desk - clerk said it was him. He didn't know the room was occupied. Man had a hostile attitude- after all why should I be upset if someone unannounced tried to access room in middle of night. Morning desk manager was very rude. Would not give manager contact information. Also place is run down carpets in hall filthy. I WILL NEVER RETURN. RECOMMEND YOU THINK TWICE IF COING THERE
When are hotels going to start putting safety bars in their showers? Older people need grasping bars on showers and it is DANGEROUS not to have them! Not just BW Plus but ALL hotels and EVERY room, not just handicapped rooms. Wake up! In this day and age of law suits it just seems logical to make the rooms as safe as possible for everybody! Don't ignore this review!
Passing through the area on a cross country trip. This was a convenient location and price. I struggled with this review as there were positive and negative. On arrival the hotel was not the level of comfort/luxury I expect to find at a Best Western Plus and I am not sure why they have this designation. The lobby is very small, there was one clerk at check in, about 5:30 and four of us standing in line waiting while the clerk patiently answered questions and checked in another gentleman. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. I did use the pool and found in clean with towels available poolside. To use the access the back parking lot one has to go through the pool area or use either end of building doors. A truck driver unkindly parked his rig in the middle of the back parking lot - the problem was in generator came on every half hour to keep load of cheese cool, it was loud! Breakfast the next morning was a little chaotic. Food had not been ordered and the attendant had apparently quickly called in an order and it was being delivered when I came down around 7am. The attendant was working quickly and was apologetic. Food and selection was standard and adequate, coffee was good. Check out was quick.
The lady at check in was awesome and a plus for the hotel...otherwise the hotel is a little beatup and it shows. It has a hot tub....room is reasonably clean but shower was a little icky...pool area ok. it has a hot tub but we couldnt use it because inconsiderate parents let their kids jam in there even though young kids shouldnt be in it...these parents let their kids destroy the pool area...not hotels fault....breakfast was typical...maybe on a non athletic event night it would have been better but for the price I expected better...oh...motorcycle friendly!
Great hotel for the price. Excellent staff and the beds are very comfortable. Location is really great next we very good restaurants and right on the highway so entry and exit are very convenient. Must visit the hotel when in Columbia, MO
This place is just nasty!! We were traveling in with a large group of people and all of them had a bad experience. The bathrooms were nasty, mold and hair all over the bathtub. We had a used wash rag left in our bathroom. The water while taking a shower was impossible to control, it was either scalding hot or freezing cold. The rest of the group had the same experience. One of the groups even had the manager and front desk clerk come up to their room and yell at them. This hotel has a serious leadership issue. We will not be staying at this facility again..!
I stayed her for a week attending a workshop at the University of Missouri. There were a few peculiarities that I'll get out of the way. There wasn't a microwave in the room, which during a week's stay would have be helpful. For some reason, Best Westerns often don't have vending machines. If I wanted a snack or a soda I had to go down to the front desk and choose from their sparse selection, and they never seem to have Diet Coke (my addiction)! Additionally, I had been counting on being able to use the laundry at the hotel, but was informed that it had been out of order for as long as anyone could remember. Having said all of this, the service was good, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, everything was very clean, there was a a good-sized pool and hot tub, an outside area with lounge chairs to get some sun, a very complete fitness room, and, of course, Best Western's signature hot breakfasts that are always excellent. So there are a few negatives that are outweighed but a plethora of positives, including a great price and location. Best Westerns are my go-to hotels for their great value and this one didn't disappoint.
Breakfast horrible. Desk clerks are rude (except for one gal that was just wonderful) can't give names because they don't where name tags. Tub drain was gross. Some whisker hair and pubic hair on bathroom floor. Pool was ice cold and had not been cleaned in who knows how long as there was a lot of hair in it. Hot tub wasn't a hot tub it was a warm tub, if even that.
I loved our stay while traveling from Iowa through to Mississippi! Room was quiet and very clean!! Staff was amazing. The bed was one of the most comfy beds I've slept it I wanted to take it home! Great job BW!! I will be staying here again many times in the future! You're now my fav hotel stop
And very clean facility. Nice rooms and really great pricing. Decent location close to the freeway, but not loud. Accessible to everything in the city. A Bob Evans restaurant right next door was a nice advantage.
After making our reservation I read the reviews and became a bit worried. However, we experienced NONE of the problems referenced in reviewer complaints. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff was attentive and helpful We will stay here again if the need arises.
Usually a good experience with BW so chose them during our stay in Columbia. Window leaked water into the room during a rain storm. When we woke the next day there were ants all over the room. Staff could have cared less. Don't recommend this hotel.
It's been a while since I had stayed at a Best Western, and since my experiences previously had varied a great deal, I didn't expect much. But apparently the "Plus" adds definite value. This property was conveniently located just off the freeway, near gas, convenience stores, and some restaurants. We were only there for one night, but found the staff friendly, the breakfast very good, and room very comfortable.
Very nice property....pleasant staff...we were very pleased with our room....clean, spacious...everything we wanted. The breakfast area is very clean and the food was satisfying. The hotel is right in off of the highway, so easy to get to, lots of places to eat nearby . We were very pleased
Great hotel for the price and great location to hwy., gas, and food...stayed here before and they even upgraded our room this time...Friendly staff...didn't have time to use the pool or other amenities this time...
At arrival, I checked us in, got our keys then my husband and I lugged all of our stuff upstairs and walked into our room and it was dirty. Beds weren't made, trash everywhere, etc. and I got something disgusting on my hand that I don't want to know what it was! Went back downstairs to lobby where the lady working seemed frustrated and confused with how her shift was going. I later found out this happened to other guests. She found us another room with the manager. No apologies were given. She just sat new keys on the counter and said nothing. Our new room was clean at first glance, but there was hair on the bathroom floor, pillowcases stained. We were tired so just said forget it and threw the pillowcases off and I took a wash rag to the floor. We had family staying in another room and we decided to take a dip in the pool. We all got down there and the water was like an ice bath. My daughter tried to tough it out and "get used to" the water and her lips were turning blue within 5 mins. The next morning at breakfast, 30 mins before breakfast was to end they ran out of several foods, all the juices, even water and would not refill them. We left for the day and came back to our room untouched by housekeeping. The housekeeper put we had our do not disturb tag out, which we did not. It was in our room when we returned. I went to the desk to get towels for showers and asked the manager why housekeeping did not go in our room and he threw our towels on the desk and said "I don't know" and picked up the phone and continued his conversation. Later on I went to the desk and explained to the manager how unhappy we were with our stay and everything that was wrong and he assured me he would do something for me to take care of it. It was late, we were both frustrated so I left it at that and went on to bed. Next morning I wake up to our receipt under the door, nothing was done. The staff sit around on the furniture in the lobby on their phones. Ask for something and they act like you're bothering them. I once accidentally ended up at a Motel 6 on the very wrong side of Denver that had bullet holes in it and drug deals in the parking lot and I'm more likely to return there than stay here again. Service was way better there.
Choose this hotel due to indoor pool. When we checked in nobody told us the heater in pool was broke. It ruined our whole weekend getaway. Went to lobby to get a drink and the cooler was pretty much empty so I couldn't even get a drink, and the pillows are like couch throw pillows.
Staff is horrible with bad attitude. No help what so ever. Rooms not clean. Pizza box was left in the room we checked into. Moved into another room to have cleaning gloves left on dresser. Staff said couldn't move us but then did. Called ahead of time to get connected rooms staff said couldn't do over the phone got there and requested thru booking company and hotel. Was told no rooms were available.
I am a loyal BW customer but will not stay here again. To start off, during check in one of the staff members was being the manager who was checking us in and she was mocking the manager, very disrespectful especially in front of guests. As we walked to our room we were surprised at how dirty the hallways were, we expect some in the entryway due to weather but not on throughout the hotel. Our room was no better, the chair next to the bed had stains on it that looked suspicious, and why wasn't it cleaned? Nothing was moved to clean the floors properly either, no pride in how the rooms are kept. On the fridge and the shelves under the sink you could see the layer of dust and the ice bucket still had water in it. We used the pool and hot tub, the pool was not heated, my wife said it was like walking in glacier water, I didn't try. The hot tub they had just gotten fixed so I don't think the ph was right as the water was green. When we shared some of our concerns with the front desk upon checkout their excuse was that the maintenance guy was out with the flu, how does that relate to the hallways and rooms not being clean? We didn't mention the pool or hot tub to her. There have been some issues at this property and BW has hired new management here so hopefully thing will improve, but it will be while before I go back...
The desk staff need to be attentive to the needs of your customers. NOT playing games or whatever she was doing on her phone. The faucet in our room when turned on leaked all over the sink surface. The pop up wouldn't pop on the sink.
So went there for 2 nights. Excellent location , plenty of nearby dining. Room was nice quiet, 1st floor. Pool and hot tub were fine. Breakfast was what you'd expect, a little limited. Would definitely stay again.
I stay at this hotel on a weekly basis. My only issue is that they sometimes run out of breakfast food for the week and there has been a few times when breakfast was not available. otherwise, this is a nice, quiet hotel with amazing staff.
We checked in after 1 am....the front desk staff had their feet up and wasn't real enthused about helping. Wasn't unfriendly by any means just not what you would expect. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. TV did not work in our room but wasn't a big deal to us. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Annnd they're dog friendly!
Hair on bathroom floor, poor housekeeping staff. Spa with almost scalding water and dead skin floating. Ice cold indoor pool. Horrible breakfast. Had to find drum and printer for office center. The one nice thing was the Christmas decorations. Desk employees out of uniform. Come on. Seriously. I expect better from Best Western
Needs updating. Silver fish in sink and bathtub. This should not be a Plus best western. Just a Best Western! I will not be recommending this place. Beds are just okay. I try to use points, but this place lacks.
out dated, pealing paint on ceiling, run down bathroom, needs updated badly. hotel employees were great though. limited parking in front, breakfast bar was very limited for a best western, will not reccommend until its updated.
Aside from the key entry system never working properly, our room faced the back parking light and extremely bright high intensity lights shined through the black out shades to the extent we had to clamp the curtains shut but the light still shined around the curtains into the room at night despite our best efforts to use items to more securely hold the shades in place.
I am pretty loyal to Best Westerns because I can generally count on a certain level of cleanliness and safety and a decent breakfast. This hotel failed on two of the three. There was a torn wrapper on the floor in the entryway to the room. The light in that entryway did not work. There was hair on the wall of the shower, and the bed was poorly made. Breakfast was terrible, with no eggs, either hot or hard-boiled, no yogurt, two green bananas and some waffle batter. Yes, there was toast and probably donuts. I can't eat gluten, so I didn't notice. Also, if you are on the side of the hotel with the Steak-n-Shake, be aware that it is open 24 hours a day, and the lights are bright. And finally, the hotel parking lot is very small and hard to navigate with a large vehicle.
Having stayed at BW + I've come to anticipate and perhaps expect a certain level of professionalism. The hotel was clean, the room nice, but the staff lacks a service standard. Checking in went fairly well although the front desk attendant seemed a little distracted. Morning is where I really noticed the lack of professionalism. When I came down to breakfast, all the hot item crocks were empty. Now Best Western doesn't have huge crocks, so they do have to resupply often, therefore needing good attendants watching and working. At this BW the kitchen staff was sitting in the back room with the day mgr, all just visiting. I notified them they had a line of people waiting for breakfast at which point one of them checked the crocks and said it would be a few minutes. Breakfast is served 6 to 9; is it really that hard to work for three hours?? It took 15 -20 minutes to get items out which were quickly gobbled up and the whole cycle started again. Later as we left I noticed the mgr on a smoke break out in front of the hotel. While I wouldn't say stay away from this hotel, I think in the future I'll look for a different place.
Our recent visit to Best Western Plus - Columbia Inn was fairly pleasant. The room was a nice size but there was a musty smell. Installing a air freshener would help. The shower provided plenty of hot water and the towels were so fluffy. The bathroom needs attention though. There was mold on the shower curtain and the bathroom needs to be painted. On a positive note, there is a free washer/dryer service which was a welcome surprise! John, at the front desk was awesome! So friendly and helpful. I can't provide any information regarding the breakfast buffet since I did not visit but from what I heard it was basically the same as all other hotels.
Really sad that employees blame others for no food for breakfast, staff should've gone to the store and got some supplies or discounted our rooms . We got locked out of building trying unload because they lock all the doors at night, but failed to tell us.
I stayed in this hotel back in December 2017 and rated it higher that this time. Maintenance of the property seems to be slipping. While the staff is very friendly, the hotel itself has some issues. The main issue was the elevator. The elevator door would slam open or closed, and the ride ws not as smooth as it should have been. Second, with such little parking available in front of the hotel we had to park in the back and walk around since the back and side doors were broken and would not allow anyone into the hotel. This, the caulk around the bathtub was looking rusty which indicates to me that the caulk is not cleaned all that frequently. As for the room, it was nice and comfortable. One area that was annoying was the noise coming from the room above us. We could tell there were children running back and forth and it made it difficult to get to sleep. Apparently there is not a lot of noise reduction barriers in the walls and ceilings. At breakfast to was a mixed review. There was one staff member who walked thru the breakfast area but was busy on her phone and not looking at what was in short supply. For example, my first orange juice was very good (more than average amount of pulp which I like). However, I went back for more orange juice and what I received was colored water. There was a slight orange color but the juice tasted like water. This hotel seems to be getting worse rather than better. Not sure I will stay at this hotel in the future.
Had a great time and easy access to Columbia. Right off the freeway but there was no traffic noise and with 2 restaurants close by there was not a lot of noise at all. Everyone was friendly and accommodating!
Great location that was very close to where we wanted to be. Facility was very comfortable, and the room was better than presented. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating, especially with suggestions and directions for restaurants.
We have not stayed at the Best Western in Columbia before but it was a very good experience. Warm and welcoming staff, nice clean rooms, quiet location. The breakfast was varied and fresh...and the wifi was reliable. We will be staying here again the next time we are in town.
We stayed here on our way to ST Louis MO the front desk personnel was very nice and accommodating. The room was satisfactory we were in too late to let the kid swim. The breakfast was very good excellent selection down to blueberries & whip cream & sprinkles!!! We'd stay again
The room was very nice and large. Plenty of room to relax. Room and bathroom were clean. A big hearty breakfast buffet. Quiet hotel. Unfortunately the back and side doors were not operating so you had to come around the front of the hotel and there was no shampoo, I was told it was on
A great place to stay, convenient, clean, rooms were nice and the hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They had a washer and dryer free of charge for guests. When we poll efta they had grab and go bags
The room was crowded with furniture. I had to take a cold shower and use towel with holes in them. The location of the hotel was good and east to get to, the outside looked nice. The front desk staff looked like she didn't want to be there and acted like we were bothering her.
Great facility, Even though most of my time is spent in the Jefferson City area, I normally will stay at this Best Western. Great, caring staff, excellent facilities, great value for the cost. Even though the motel is just off of Interstate 70, I find the rooms very quiet and comfortable.
Rooms were nice and most of staff were very helpful. Breakfast was great and plenty of hot water for showers. Did not care for the fact that only door to get back into building was the front door, especially since 2/3 of parking was in the rear of the building.
Extremely disappointed. The bed felt musty and the room was very bright through the night, despite their attempt at blackout curtains. The fitted sheets came off the bed throughout the night. Could hear loud traffic, as our room was on the back side of the hotel next to the highway. Power outage caused fire alarms to wake us up at 6:30 and no full breakfast. Front desk employee told us upon checkout that we would receive some sort of compensation. No reimbursements nor an apology from the management. The manager has been unwilling to hear my concerns as I've called post trip. Bad management can be easily experienced if you choose to stay here.
Stopped here for an overnight stay. Our room smelled damp. The 1st floor hallway smelled of smoke and we noticed had no fire extinguishers. When we got up in the morning we noticed our clothes that we had out to put on were also damp. Slept well, but the hotel had some ventilation issues and obviously had a small fire recently.
The ONE thing that is important to me about hotels is cleanliness and I am picky about it. This one passed with flying colors! The only complaint I have is the bad smelling truckers. This is not the fault of the hotel, of course, but sharing the elevator with one of these guys was not pleasant. The room, however was excellent - we had a King Executive (complimentary upgrade). Very clean. Breakfast was above par for hotel breakfasts. Food was fresh, not overcooked, and the area and machines were very clean. Truckers had taken showers, thank goodness. : ) Well done, Best Western!
Just wanted an inexpensive room to sleep in after 13 hours on the road. I wouldn't plan on staying here for more than a quick trip because it wasn't a 3 star that AAA had marked it with in their travel brochure. The price was reasonable and the beds were comfortable, but the facility is older and needed some work. The stairway smelled musty and definitely needed cleaned and the 2nd floor hall had visible dirt on carpet as well. The room was cleaner. It had a pretty good breakfast and the cable was good. The biggest problem we had however was when we signed in, they gave us a room that hadn't been cleaned so we had to haul all our belongings down to the front desk again. All they did was knock $10.00 off the bill. Again, for a quick night stay with breakfast it was ok but I wouldn't vacation here.
Comfortable. Friendly Staff, a little noisy due to traffic and road close by. Great breakfast, nice pool. Easy access to nearby restaurants and fast food. Will stay here again on our next visit to Kansas.
Comfortable and plenty of room in the suite. I had no complaints with check in or out. There was no noise that caused issue. Clean and updated atmosphere. Location of the hotel is convenient to major interstate making travel easy.
The room had an odor and there was one pillow on the bed that had a urine odor. This was nearly enough to turn me off of staying at a best western while doing future travel. I won't be staying at this hotel on my next trip through.
I had a late check in but the staff was great. It was a clean comfortable room and after 10 hours of driving, the bed felt great. I was travelling alone but at no point did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
We lucked out when we found this place. Our room was very clean, our bed was very comfortable, and the price was very reasonable. The 2 men that were there when we checked in were very nice and welcoming. The 2 women that were there when we checked out were also very nice. There was a wonderful hot breakfast and a very clean, neat eating area. I can't say anything bad about this Best Western Plus. It was a pleasure staying here.
Unsure how to rate, they had a fire just before we arrived. Elevators down, our reservations were on the top floor(3rd) and traveling with 90 yr. old mother-in-law, no way! Besides place still smoky and smelled such. They agreed to let us out of reservation with no charge, but no effort to get us rooms elsewhere. Plenty of rooms available, just drove down the street to another motel.
This is a good place to stay with nice people, everyone working there is great. The breakfast lady was great, very helpful. We've stayed at places where everything is empty. Not here the hot food was warm and the gravy was hot. Good selections and if they're out she gets some more right away. My complaint is with the online booking which looks like you are dealing direct with the hotel. I realize that Priceline and Reservation Counter are very deceptive and down right crooks. I didn't know that I was dealing with Priceline which is nothing but crooks. They are not the best price by $55.59 in our case. I will never again use an 800 number OR online booking. Check for the local area code and search until you get a local direct number to the hotel. Just a word to the wise, RC and PL are crooks no two ways about it. There is a lot of highway noise we used fan to block some of it out.
Very nice hotel...staff very friendly...lots of restaurants and amenities around the hotel and very accessible to hwy. Very clean rooms and internet was very good. Pool and spa area was very clean and definitely would stay at this hotel in the future. Great value for the price for sure!
We stayed in the Best Western Plus Columbia Inn, Columbia, MISSOURI.Its clean and had a nice room. We were on a trip across the country and needed a place stay. it did the job well. i would stay again if in the area.
Recently in Columbia , MO for the state bowling tournament and stayed at this hotel. Check in was so quick and the desk clerk John was so pleasant. Their breakfast was a hot food bar but the eggs needed to be seasoned. They offer biscuits and gravy, waffles, boiled eggs, yogurt and more!! The beds and pillows were better than most hotels by far. Even the housekeeping service was excellent and gave us a couple extra wash clothes and coffee. Great service and so pleasant. They really cared. Great value for room rates. Just off Interstate Hwy 70 with 2 restaurants 'in the parking lot'. Great location.
Great place to stay with nice indoor pool and whirl pool. New door locks that you touch your key card to. Rachel at front desk was very nice and extremely helpful. Nice breakfast with honey for tea. All staff I encountered were friendly an polite. Highly recommend.
I have become a big fan of best western plus hotels over the past two years... but unfortunately this experience in Columbia knocked it down a notch. My family checked in around midnight and it appeared like the woman at the front desk was battling a bender. The room was not totally clean the toilet seat was basically hanging by a thread, as the lid was falling off. Location and breakfast was highlight.
I'll start with saying the young man that checked me in was very professional and his personality was GREAT!! The room was large and had almost everything I am accustom to having. The young man got me the one thing that was missing. THANK YOU. Now, what I found a little distracting for a "Plus" was the towels really need to be replaced, the bathroom had hair on the floor from previous person, the shower curtain was gross and the sheets have seen better days. Consider getting another luggage cart, 1 isn't enough. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. The parking lots (front and back) were well lit all night long. Restaurants within walking distance.
The time that I checked inn it was pretty busy I guess because it was a Friday evening but the Staff was very courteous and helpful in helping me with the room I wanted. I was assigned a room on the first floor but the washer and dyer was on the third floor. They were very gracious in getting a room on that floor. It was good also because Steak N Shake and Bob Evans was right across the parking lot.
The beds were good for me and I have back pain. However, the maid staff needs to be more thorough cleaners. Like most hotels, they tell you to leave towels you want to reuse off of the floor, then they take those towels and refold them so you don't have any idea which was yours or your roommate's. I'd rather they not fold the used towels and find the jello container between the bed and nightstand that the last customers left.
Clean, nice accommodations. Bathroom lighting not desirable for checking appearance. Location convenient but not attractive. Staff was especially fun & helpful with getting us directions to event we were to attend.
Basic hotel with a really nice bed - was in a king bed. Could use an update. Bright lights from highway but they did have a thick curtain that blocked them. Okay breakfast. Convenient. Next door to Steak and Shake and less than a mile from QT. Front desk were very nice.
Best kept secret in Columbia. Huge room. Super staff. Clean bathroom. Very quiet. Easy to get to right off the highway. Everything you could need is very close by ... QT, Bob Evans, Steak n Shake. Right across the highway offers even more choices!
Wonderful stay staff was very friendly the hotel was very clean and comfortable and the location is very close by restaurants and other attractions nice indoor pool and spa breakfast was decent will recommend
We were pleasantly surprised at the great value we found. Room size was great. Beds were great. And, the breakfast was more than expected as well. The area was in a good location, easily accessible. Worth another stay.
Hotel was clean and a great value for the room. We stayed one night. Family of 5, had to use an air mattress as well. Breakfast was decent, but I've had better at other BW's. Didn't use any other amenities.
Was very impressed by the staff. Rooms were nice and clean and I love the lobby and breakfast area, especially now with the christmas decor. The staff made all the difference. I've been to newer BW and they may have looked better but in all my many stays, and I stay with BW a lot, this was the first time my room was called to check and see if everything was ok. Kara was nice, friendly and really seemed to care.
Loved the cotton sheets! The room was large and felt roomy. Staff was very helpful and the visit was pleasant. Best Western used to have a much better rating, and I am happy to see it is getting with the program. I like the blue color instead of yellow too.
Staff was great and provided an upgraded room with sofa bed for my 2 year old grand daughter. Kids had very good night stay. My daughter in law is allergic to our cats so hotel was great. Only stayed one night but was very satisfied.
We stayed here one night in late December during a cold snap. Our room was clean, comfortable, and warm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of a couple restaurants, and a gas station is nearby. Breakfast was good and the room rate was very good (less than $75). Our only slight disappointment was the lack of a microwave. We recommend a stay and will return if we are in Columbia again.
I arrived at this Best Western following a 15 hour drive from New Mexico........tired, beat up, and ready for a restful night before another marathon drive the following morning. The room was large and well accommodated, and quite nice in appearance. I only had opportunity for approx. 3 hours sleep before arising and departing, but not before I had opportunity for a full breakfast at the well stocked morning fare in a very nice dining area, bedecked for the Holiday Season. Very nice and class touch. I recommend staying here to be sure.........safe travels.
Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by Jonathan. Our room was very nice although we had a problem within the first 15 minutes. The front desk (Jonathan) quickly helped resolve the problem. Even after resolving the problem, he offered to give us another room and give us a couple of bottles of water. He did everything to ensure we were happy with our stay. The room was very clean, however, the maid staff failed to leave shampoo (they did leave body lotion and hair conditioner). Someone in the housekeeping section was not paying attention to details. Otherwise the room was very nice. The breakfast was nice. The omelet was good and had condiments for it. The sausage links were good. The biscuits and gravy was okay but not great. Overall, recommend staying here.
I am positive when ever you are in the area want to make you feel home its the right place, lots of nice restaurants on walking distances. Enjoy you stay with my recommendation. Mall for shopping is also nearby.
A longtime and very dear friend passed away from a second stroke and necessitated a many miles trip from Tennessee to Nebraska. Staying at this hotel on the way to and on the way back from the visitation with family and friends of hers and the funeral where her darling son played a piece that she loved on the trombone was a bright oasis in the sea of sadness that encompassed us. Would stay at this Best Western Plus again in a heartbeat.
The first room I was assigned to was marked as "cleaned". When I walked into the room, the toilet was clogged, there was a used soap bar and hair in the bathtub, and a towel on the floor of the room. However, the bed was made and the trash was replaced, so workers were likely in the room, they just failed to do a proper cleaning job. Thankfully the staff was quick to offer a different room. The second room I entered looked clean, but I was left questioning how well the job was done. Overall, the hotel was nice, as well as breakfast. Good water pressure, fast internet, and comfortable bed.
The street lights shine in the window all night long because there are only sheers, instead of curtains, to keep the light out. The hot tub had warm water instead of hot and the jets did NOT work. Total disappointment!
We've stopped at the BW Plus Columbia Inn twice on our way to Cincinnati from Denver, Co. It's a marvelous stop. The room in particular and the hotel in general are very comfortable and well-kept up. Although we haven't explored the city, we will at some point and definitely stay at this hotel. As for the service, we asked for almost nothing, but we certainly got fine service.
The pool was cold, hot tub was warm, check in was horrible, no pillow cases on the pillows, had to ask for things for the room too many times, hallway was noisy, hallway floors were dirty, lighting in the bathroom was terrible, etc.
Location was great! Nice hot breakfast. The BEST part of the whole reservation process were the front desk personnel, especially Kevin and Raven. I'm old and not tech savvy but they helped me configure my tablet so I could use the WiFi. And then above is when I got lost and drove around for over an hour and the gas stations I went to either weren't familiar with the streets or didn't give me directions that got me back to the hotel. BUT, once again Best Western front desk staff got me back to the hotel. To be honest the only somewhat negative I could say is the highway noise was a little loud. You guys are marvelous. ??
The staff was very friendly. We were at a outdoor tournament and got soaking wet, I asked for a early check in and they did not hesitate to say yes. Breakfast was great for a quick one. Rooms were a little small for a family of 5, but comfy beds and great cable package. The pool was a great addition although it was freezing and the hot tub was very lukewarm. Other than that the stay was great.
Problems with room, box of Kleenex was totally empty, shower curtain stunk of mildew and a dirty wash cloth was in the corner of the tub, carpet was never vacuumed, tv surfing was real slow and room was so noisy. The spray they use to make the room smell fresh stunk. I had stayed at other BW but this one was just terrible.
I suppose this stay met my expectations for a Best Western. I have had better experiences at BW+ in Austin Tx so I thought I'd give this property in Columbia MO a try. When I walked into the room, I noticed a clean cup on the floor between the bed and night stand: -1. During my stay, the linkage between the toilet handle and flapper failed: -1. Upon inspection, I saw that it was either a paperclip or a rubber band that failed: -5. Using wrong parts is never a good idea. I was there for a Dad's Weekend for my son at Mizzou. The room cost just over $200 per night. That's a LOT for this franchise and location. A perfect stay would have been nice. The desk attendant took off about $16 when I checked out. More symbolic than compensatory, but I took it. Breakfast was good. The environs were quiet enough. It's a high-traffic location, near a busy junction. Takes a couple of traffic-light cycles to get our of the immediate area (via the main drag, anyway).
Best Western Plus Columbia Inn, Columbia,Missouri is very good,Local streets make it difficult to inter . Employees were friendly and helpful. room was a little crowded for a standard king,we will be happy to stay at this motel again. Larry
I have never stayed in a hotel that the rooms were so dirty. Gonna take a lot to get me to go back there again. Evening employee(s) rude to my grandson. No water available in the exercise room. TV by the tread-machines were terrible, as couldn't get any channels up. Jets didn't work right in the hot-tub and was low on water as was the pool
Not good representation for Best Western, and certainly not a Plus!! Old; gross carpet, moldy bathroom, cold shower. The staff was super nice. The room was not dirty due to housekeeping - just worn in dirt and mold. Needs updating before I stay here again.
We came into town for the Roots N Blues music festival. This hotel was close to Stephen's Lake, offered many amenities, & was a great value for the cost. Quiktrip, Bob Evans, Steak N' Shake, and other places nearby for convenience. Uber/Lyft rides around $5 to get around. We had a great stay and would stay there again - Raven was great!
Usually Best Western Plus hotels are a pleasant experience, but this hotel was a disappointment. Dark, drab room left me cold. Breakfast had nothing appealing. I would not go back here unless the hotel does a total renovation and spruces up their breakfast menu.
BW is motorcycle friendly, so we have a tendency to stay at one, especially since we were on a motorcycle road trip. This one was a bit disappointing. Front desk was very friendly, sociable. Breakfast was good--the usual powdered eggs and variety of toppings for eggs, meats, selection of breads, waffles, milk, yogurt, etc. Very satisfying. However, the in-room coffee packets were opened. The plug for the tub didn't seal well, so a nice bubble bath was out of the question. We were having problems with our internet (our provider, not them), so chose to use the facility business office. The computer wasn't working either. Overall, the experience was pleasant enough and the price right due to discounts, but an average experience.
It was very expensive for just staying one night because there was a game in town but it was also one of the only hotels that still had space available so not much you can do there. The staff was very friendly but the room smelled a little bit and they didn't have any extra blankets in the closet like most places do.
booked at last minute for 2 nights due to Ramada Inn across I-70 now refusing my business, has elevator, friendly staff, good rate on Thursday night but huge increase on Friday night due to football game but all the hotels in town do, refrigerator but no microwave, some chipped paint in bathroom, no way to control light in front of room from the back of the room, was able to check out at 1PM when asking for late check out time, walking distance to 24 hour Steak N Shake, TV took a long time to turn on and only a had a few HD channels, internet fast enough but could be a faster for the quality of this hotel (only about 5.5 MBPS), I might stay here again if they were cheaper since the cheaper hotels usually fulfill my needs and have more points from Wyndham, but I can't recommend against this place, for the most part I guess what I paid for
I have stayed at many Best Westerns. So I choose this one out of all the other hotels at this exit on the highway. I am expecting around $100.00 or so for the night but when I woke up and got my bill it was over $220.00. I was so shocked. Never have I stayed at a Best Western and had the bill be that much. When I inquired at the desk I was told THEY CHARGE MORE ON THE WEEKENDS AND PLUS THERE WAS A BALL GAME IN TOWN ON FRIDAY SO THEY CAN CHARGE MORE. SO because i'm traveling down the highway and decide to stop for the night and it is a Friday night and there is a ball game in town they can rip me off for double what the rate usually is. I WILL NOT BE STAYING AT A BEST WESTERN AGAIN.
Overall nice hotel standard free breakfast however I was locked in the pool room at 9:45 PM 15 minutes before it closes. The room next to us had a shower or sink that ran all night long and no one no one fixed it after reported so we had to listen to running water all night long
We spent a night at this hotel and it was an excellent experience. Isaac, the clerk on the front desk when we checked in, was GREAT! He was so helpful and so funny and so nice. Our room was great, very clean and comfortable, with a very comfy bed. The hotel wasn't really busy so we didn't have people next door. But in our experience the room was quiet. The breakfast bar the next morning was really good. It was VERY clean and organized and was the first hotel - in a two week trip - that had gluten-free cereal for me. The lady who was in charge of breakfast was REALLY nice and helpful. Even our checkout clerks couldn't have been nicer. Our ONLY complaint was that every door in the hotel needs oiling because they just SCREAMED when you opened and closed them. All in all, I really recommend this hotel....and the people who run it.
Right off interstate, which was handy . There is noise but not noticeable from the room we had . Staff was personable and helpful . Thought the bed was too soft but slept soundly . Room was clean but suggest that filter be changed in the air conditioner. Standard continental breakfast . If passing this way again will stay here again.
Very pleasant stopover in Mid Missouri. I received upgrades for being a rewards member which was unexpected. The room was relatively clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. I wouldn't mind staying there again. Thank you!
Nice hotel, but was bitten by bed bugs or some other insects while sleeping. Swelling and soreness in the area of bites. Could not locate insects or bugs in bed in the following morning. Room overall was clean.
Good location, right off highway. Easy to get to shopping and restaurants. Close to MU Trowbridge Livestock facility. Hotel is clean and appears newly remodeled. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was satisfying.
Good lodging spot; good breakfast; room was in excellent condition; lacked a sitting chair; shower/toilet area was too dark; would stay there again; good location, easy to get to downtown and restaurants
Extremely friendly staff greeted us upon our arrival. Unlike other hotels, including other Best Westerns, the front desk had our room "key" ready and all I needed to do was to sign my name once. No initials, etc, just signing the paper that was already filled out. We had a king size bed on the 2nd floor. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. There was an area with a couch and foot stool. The bed was comfortable and we did not hear any noise from the other rooms that surrounded us. The breakfast was very good. Definitely a great value for the money.
Recent reviews made me concerned, especially about mold. We found it to be fine. New hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating (fixed the toilet valve, delivered a do not disturb sign, and provided extra sheet.) Pillows are the best! Room was actually quiet inspite of being next to the highway and all rooms were booked. Breakfast was typical waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, cereal, pastries. It is good value for the price.
Nice hotel, great staff. Clean rooms, comfortable beds.Nice lobby. This is usually not the case when staying in major College towns. I was pleasantly surprised. If you want to know what I mean, at most of the nearby restaurants you will find very indifferent service. Will stay again on next trip
After 12 hours of driving I had expected at least an average room. Unfortunately I didn't listen to my "inner voice" and leave when I smelled stale tobacco at the front desk. Prior to getting to my room I noticed the carpeting in the hall ways and stair wells was filthy. The bathroom tub faucet leaked, and there was very limited toilet paper in the bathroom, two nearly empty rolls to be exact. Having driven for a long time this day I wanted to relax in the spa but it had no jets and the water hovered around 85 degrees. Giving up, I went to the room, turned down the bed and noted between the wall and the bed what appeared to be animal feces on the floor. Being as tired as I was I went to take a shower but the water was luke warm at best. I did not ask to change rooms at this point, I just need to sleep. I have frequently had good luck at Best Western motels, and will continue to use the chain but NEVER at this location.
I had pretty low expectations about our stay at Best Western in Columbia. We have stayed at other Best Westerns in the past and have not been impressed. Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the room was. I actually smelled bleach when I entered the room. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and spacious. The bathroom had dated fixtures but other than that, it was good. They offered a wide variety of breakfast foods in the morning. The only complaint I have is that the housekeeping staff entered our room in the morning when we were getting ready. We put our Do Not Disturb sign up and the housekeeper knocked but before we could get to the door, they opened it. Apparently, someone removed our Do Not Disturb sign from the door. We realize housekeeping was just trying to do their job and it wasn't their fault that the sign was removed from our door but it still made us feel uncomfortable.
If you can, avoid Best Western. Rooms were dirty, smelled strongly of mold, saw bed bugs, broken door knobs, bad breakfast, the printer didn't work in the business center, and staff's appearance was unprofessional.
we like bestwesternhotels we stayed at the same place last yearwe will be staying at Columbia on the way home I belong to rewards club and last year we stayed free the place was very clean great breakfast everyone was very friendly
Our room was really nice and clean Great room for price. Always fresh towels every day. Bed really comfortable. Close to alot of good resturants. Within walking distance of 2. Ate at both. Good food at real reasonsble price.
Have not stayed at a BW for quite awhile, as their quality seemed to have dropped. This place reflects a fresh commitment to quality that I found worthy of note. Clean spacious room, comfortable bed, soft pillows and plenty of them. Pool was plenty chilly for my tastes but hot tub was huge and nice. Staff was great. Price very reasonable. Walls were a little thin, I thought, but no noisy neighbors so no complaints on my part.
I just checked into the Best Western Plus in Columbia, MO. The room smelled of mold. We requested a different room, it was moldy as well. I'm to tired to find a different hotel, but I promise to never stay at a Best Western again. By the way, the door lock did not work.....(&(&^(*&^)*$$#@)!!
Very good location, just off the highway. Bob Evans and steak n shake in essentially same parking lot. Full breakfast with eggs and breakfast meat. To go bags at the reception desk for those who wish to eat breakfast on the road. Hotel and room both clean. Our room sis not have hot water. Hotel staff offered to either reassign our room or give us access to a nearby empty room. Half of the group were already asleep, so we opted for a different room. It was taken care of immediately and without hesitation.
I must say that I am highly impressed with all the updates. You will not be disappointed when choosing this hotel. My stay was perfect. I travel a lot for business. I know a very good hotel when I come across one. This hotel earned the 5 star I gave it. When I arrived Jerrel greeted me with an unforgettable smile at 2 a.m. in the morning. He was very accommodating with finding me a room on the first floor. Thank you for the outstanding service. When I travel to Columbia Mo in the future this will be my hotel choice hands down.
Nice hotel with friendly a staff. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. When I'm in Columbia on buisness I stay at this Best Western Plus. It is located near good restaurants and shopping.. indoor pool is nice and well kept also.
Great price, great quality, but best part was Joyce (the overnight front desk clerk). We were greeted with a big smile and serviced quickly. Joyce made sure we had everything we needed and even chit-chatted with us for a bit. Excellent employee! Joyce....you/re the BEST!
Great facility, staff and location. Recently remodeled facility, very well done, staff extremely helpful and caring about your needs. Great location just off of I-70, but very little traffic noise on rooms. Well lite parking lot.
My husband stayed here while on a business trip. Review is based on his comments. The hotel was clean. Rooms were comfortable The food served at breakfast was hot . Staff was accommodating and helpful.
Smaller room that I typically see, clean but every door in this place squeaked. Room door especially, but even the elevator door. I mentioned it to the desk clerk when I first checked in but nothing was done. Stayed in the third floor and the elevator and hallway was very hot; as was the room when I first arrived as the a/c was turned off. Had to turn it on and leave for a while so it could cool down to unpack. Very small parking lot, maybe twelve spaces in the front of the building.
Nice, average Best Western. Room was average size. Very surprised that there was no microwave in our room (it did have a micro fridge). Bed was comfy and everything seemed very clean. Breakfast offered a good selection.
Newly remodeled rooms, good prices. Free breakfast. I felt safe here, a lot of amenities around the area. Great option in Columbia. The lighting was a little bright in the parking lot affecting our sleep as the drapes would not extend to block light out of the window.
Awesome place and staff. Brian went out of his way to make us comfortable!!! They were really busy but he took his time to help and ensure we were satisfied. We were surprised at his thoughtful and kind help.
Columbia Inn is what I've come to expect in the best Best Westerns -- clean, comfortable, a good breakfast, enough local decor to make it seem less generic than it is. This Best Western is a little difficult to get too -- an access road off a freeway burdened with construction -- but it is a comfortable and refreshing stop every time. I always seem to arrive in the middle of the night, and the overnight staff are pleasant and helpful, often exceptionally helpful. I would recommend it over any hotel in Columbia.
A very well kept , nice hotel ;) nice sweet neat sweet party beer hotel comfort beds are cool tv fridge internet awesome cool lovely big bed pillows shower toilet clean will stay again friendly staff , coffee tea ice bucket
BW is our go to brand due to their consistent quality and cleanliness. This is off the interstate on a quiet street next to several restaurants including Bob Evans. Very convenient. I guess I need 15 more characters here.
I went to Columbia for my daughters graduation. The hotel was very clean, staff went above and beyond, great hot breakfast. The only problem I can think of is it's a little difficult to find since it sits behind Steak N Shake and Bob Evans. I had to call the hotel for directions but they lead me straight there without incident. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Columbia, MO.
If passing thru Columbia would recommend. Staff very friendly, trailer parking available, lots of restaurant choices to walk to. Rooms clean and bed was comfortable. Morning breakfast was exceptional many choices of hot breakfast items, fresh fruits, pastries and breads. It is near the freeway great location, but there was some highway noise. I would stay there again!
Made our team stay great. Clean pool and let us use the dining at night to feed our team. We will be back in a month to stay again. Our room was good but bathroom could of us am better cleaning touch.
This hotel met all of our needs at a reasonable price. Front desk was very nice, informative, and efficient. Room was perfectly clean and attractive. Room temp was perfect, bed and pillows were comfy. Breakfast area was clean and the eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy hit the spot! Parking lot was well lit and restaurants were close. Located right next to I70 helped too!
I've stayed at Best Westerns, so when I came across this Plus location, I was looking forward to some upgraded amenities. Seemed like a basic BW to me. Nothing to rave about, the pool was slightly bigger then some other ones I stayed at. Breakfast area was slightly bigger, but same menu. I rated average based off the Plus branding, however hotel was clean & staff was friendly.
I booked this property for the general good ratings, and convenient location to my job. I was unaware at the time that this property is a prime provider of lodging for the various high school athletes who come to Columbia almost every weekend for MSHAA tournaments. When I was given an "end" room, I had no issues with the kids. However, on one occasion, I was located right in the middle of a boys' basketball team. The kids were extremely hyper and out of control, with no supervision. I made numerous calls to the desk, and talked with the adults accompanying the team, to no avail. I was kept awake by the noise til past 3AM; and had to be at work by 6AM. This was 4 weeks into my expected 3-month stay. Now it is 10-weeks into my stay, and I have just returned from my attempt to make my next reservation (I go home on the weekends), when I learned that, a.gain, they are booked for Thursday-Saturday. The manager could have offered to put me up elsewhere if they could not find a room for me here; but he chose to ignore my 10 weeks of loyalty, and told me I would have to find other lodging for Thursday night. Thanks a lot! I do not recommend this hotel for business travellers, or those who prefer a quiet atmosphere.
My son goes to Mizzou - and I have stayed there for 3 Mother's Day weekend events. This last stay was so much better - they have definitely done some improvements to the rooms and beds. Very convenient to get to campus. I would recommend.
The well lit parking lot was great, but the spot light was directed straight into my window and even with the curtains closed, the light glowed around the sides lighting up the room. Out was very bright!
Didn't like the breakfast as they didn't replenish when foods were low. Instead of holding the room with my credit card for my two day stay as it was agreed when I arrived we would pay with cash but they charged my card for both days it without informing me! Not acceptable! But Tera the service representative went out of her way to correct the matter! Thanks goodness for Tera!
The operation manager, Jamie Miller, at this hotel is wonderful! From day 1 she went out of her way to make our stay amazing! My kids even called her by name all week! The staff always had a smile and went out of their way to make it a great stay! This includes the breakfast service, housekeepers and especially the front desk employees! I felt like we were staying a week with friends and family!
Amazing customer service!!! Beds were super comfy, made for peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was tasty with lots of options and again the customer service during breakfast was above and beyond. Won't stay anywhere else when we come back!
Great deal for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable, nice staff. Very good location, very close to restaurants and college stadium. I would stay at this hotel anytime I'm in Columbia for business or pleasure.
The front desk staff was extremely friendly and it was very close to restaurants, gas and I70. The breakfast was good and they were very helpful. We were just passing through on the way to Kentucky from Denver and the location was perfect. Would definitely stay there again.
the property was clean and neat, breakfast was on time, and check in and out was smooth. amenities were ok, breakfast area was cramped. a little pricey for what it was. the pool was nice and clean, but the Spa was not even hot, same temp as pool.
We stayed at this hotel overnight while we were in town to watch the state high school cheerleading competition. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean, the room was spotless, the breakfast was hot, and we were VERY satisfied!
My fiancée and I decided last minute to stay the night here and I'm so glad we did! Sweet and very, very kind employees welcomed her and I. The room was beautiful and clean and the bed was so comfortable! Our request for a high room was granted and we had a blast! Breakfast was great!! So many options! This is an amazing choice for anyone! Thanks guys!!
First time stay at Best Western-Columbia Have stayed at several hotels in Columbia and the staff here ARE the most friendly. Hotel next to Steak & Shake and Bob Evans. Price very high for Friday & Saturday (as all the hotels are on football weekends). Very quiet and comfortable!
Physical property is nice but nothing special. Clean, nice rooms, comfortable. Reasonable fitness room. However, staff was outstanding. They were extremely helpful several times and went beyond requirements. Can't compliment them enough.
After having a problem at The Hampton down the street, we left there and checked into the Best Western. An amazing, helpful, friendly employee (Tara) went out of her way to help us. Turns out she was already off work for the day and stayed on her own time to help us get settled in. Service like this is hard to find. The hotel is neat, clean & welcoming. A great place to stay!!!
This Best Western was located within a quarter mile from the I-70 exit. The room was great, as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was awesome with lots of variety. My only complaint is the noise from the highway which was drowned out when we turned on the room fan.
Clean and updated room and overall a good overnight stay. We have stayed at many BW Plus that have a bit more first class amenities. Mattress was new but not as firm as we had hoped. Having said that, I would stay there again. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
It was getting dark and we wanted to stop driving for the night. Luckily we found your motel. The desk personnel was very nice and the room (with a king bed!) was just what we needed. Although breakfast is provided, we opted this time to walk over to the Steak & Shake restaurant nearby.
Very friendly staff, extremely comfortable beds and clean rooms.....would definitely recommend to others and we will definitely go back again. Close to downtown Columbia so a great place to stay if visiting the MU campus
Very clean and up-to-date hotel. Arrived at noon and room was ready! Heather at the front desk was great. Very friendly and helpful with printing area maps and recommended restaurants for our 1 night stay. Very comfortable beds/pillows. Breakfast included: eggs, juice, coffee and waffles. I will stay again. A+
My friend and I stayed overnight at this hotel because we went to an event in Jefferson City but there was no availability there. Great choice, easy highway access and there were many restaurants to choose from right by the hotel. Front desk staff was very helpful and checked us in quickly. Rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast wasn't too bad. If staying in Columbia again would be my first choice.
very helpful staff comfortable stay had a great rest and even got suggested to go eat at a great eating place i would recommend this place to anyone i knew and if i go back there for work i will go to the best western
We checked in around 9:30 pm and were greeted by a very friendly young woman at the desk. We were able to get a room with a single king sized bed which was nice. Our room was very nice and clean and the bed comfortable. There was also a hot breakfast with a variety of choices. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because the noise from the interstate was ridiculously loud in our room and the thick curtains do not close all the way so the lights from outside were so bright it was almost like daylight....would stay here again though =)
So glad to find a good place to stay when we visit our kids at college!! Wonderful staff, clean hotel, good location!! What more do you need. Friendly staff and welcoming attitude goes a long way with me. They had both in abundance!! Thank you!!
I enjoyed my stay here and liked the variety of choices during breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. It was also easy to find right off the freeway and close to restaurants and gas stations.
Stayed here one night after a Mizzou football game. Newer place so it was clean and quite and comfortable. Had no issues at all to report. The desk clerks did a great job because after we checked out and had gotten a few miles away. I realized I had left my cell phone in the room. Caller the front desk and by the time we got back they had gone to the room to retrieve it for me and have it at the front desk when we got back. Much appreciated.
I really liked the hotel, amenities, and the staff. All is great but be careful about when you plan your trip. Most of Columbia,MO hotels get booked on game day for Mizzou and the hotels including this one take FULL ADVANTAGE. I just stayed with my girlfriend for 1 night for our 2 year anniversary. Not even trying to go to the game and it cost me a lot more than I'd of liked. But other than that, loved the hotel.
Fantastic hotel, the staff was amazing. Very clean and good smelling room, comfortable bed and pillows. One of the better free breakfast I have had at a hotel. Would definitely recommend and will be staying here again on our next trip to Columbia.
I have to admit, this location was better than I thought it would be. Everything in Columbia sells out on football weekends and this weekend was no exception. Got the reservation in February and it was one of the last (decent) rooms remaining in town. I was quite pleasantly surprised! Easy check-in. Spacious, clean room that smelled nice and fresh, not stale at all. The AC unit ran well although I don't think it got quite as cool as we would have preferred. The room was nicely appointed. The beds were very comfortable with nice pillows and blankets. No nasty bedspreads on the beds here, thank goodness. There was a very bright light outside our window but there was a light blocking window treatment on the inside of the curtains to pull close, but you could still see a bit of light. There was a bag for a hair dryer but no hair dryer in it. The bathroom and tub were very clean. One thing that I really think is an issue is the very slippery floor outside the elevator on the main floor and in the elevator, which is right outside the entrance to the indoor pool. I slipped on the wet floor more than once. It was difficult to see any water on the floor at all but it was there. A rubber mat at the entrance to the elevator and one inside would be a nice safety addition. The "wet floor" sign was about 10 feet away...on the carpet. All in all we had a very comfortable, good night's sleep and would definitely return.
Everything seemed to be remodeled, but the rooms were small, hot and everything smelled like new adhesive. The breakfast area was very cramped with minimal food (mostly packaged items). This wasn't a great space for our family to stay.
Was a very good, clean hotel. Would stay here again. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Great hotel for price. We stopped here on the way to visit the kids and attend a wedding for one of the grandkids.
Very clean and quiet. I was expecting a lot of noise from other guests that were visiting from out of town for the home football game but I did not hear anyone else. Convenient to get to from I-70 even with the construction that is going on.
Stayed for the first Mizzou Game of the season. Perfect location right off the highway. Will stay again. Staff very friendly. Beds comfy quiet stay. My daughter loved the pool so glad it was open after the football game.
We love staying at the BW chain. There are very few that we have been disappointed with. Beds are always comfortable and rooms are always clean. Breakfast is a great start to the day. We only stay in other hotel chains when BW is not available.
Very clean. beautifully done, comfortable beds and pillows, Great friendly staff. Only problem is i guess they did'nt get the permit for their outdoor sign and the sign they have is in the grass which is hard io see from the road. and the sign on the building only states newly remodeled, does'nt have best western on the sign that hangs from the roof. Breakfast was great hot and cold items also fruit. You wont be disapointed by staying here.
The rooms needs new mattress most definatley, I couldn't sleep very well I will not stay in this particular motel after having a n awful night and had to work all day next day. Also needs a bit faster internet so the travelers can finish their work. I am sure the management will look into this property to improve their GUESTS sleep. Thank you.
Best Western Columbia offers a great place to stay for a great price! We will definitely stay here again! Clean room, comfy bed, good breakfast, nice staff. Didn't use the pool, but it looked very inviting!
This is a very nice place to stay , we've been here for an extended stay and for just over nite ! Beds are good, shower is good, has a good breakfast which should meet most diets needs ! MOST of all the staff has always been most gracious and always accommodating ! We will stay here again !
Musty, humid room (felt like a swamp), mold on the curtains, tub wouldn't drain, hard floors were dirty on arrival, extreme lack of exterior trash cans leading to trash dumped all over the grounds and parking lot, and the pool is way over-chlorinated. Staff and room decor was nice from their recent renovation, but other than that - I cannot recommend a stay at this motel in disguise.
We were pleased at how easy the access was off I-55. This is what I expect when I arrive at a Best Western hotel: a warm welcome by the the front desk staff, it is well lit, clean, organized, wide hallways, a room that is ready for our arrival. Thank you BW!
I have stayed at Best Westerns many times over the years. I expected one that was PLUS to offer superior service. I was highly disappointed and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if upper management doesn't let go of the staff that are incompetent. Most people are willing to pay more for a hotel room, but at the same time we expect better quality service, not to have our requests ignored. I think you should tell your employees that not everyone is okay with walking past people smoking at the front entryway to where it makes them stink as bad as the person smoking. I know that many people smoke, but this hotel needs to have a place to where when their employees go out to smoke they are not interfering with the customers coming in and out the front door.
This hotel was very clean. I did not find one fault in it. The staff was very helpful and polite. Every time I asked the staff anything they where helpful. When I heard them talk to any other guest they where very polite and helpful. The hotel was booked the weekend I was there and a few people came in to get a room and there where no rooms available. The staff went out of their way to help find these customers another Best Western to stay at or just another hotel. I was impressed
Fabulous service! Terra at the front desk was warm and welcoming and went out of her way to make our stay great. She provided extra towels to us as we requested when we checked in and even brought us hot water for tea.
The cost of our stay warranted much better amenities. We were seriously considering not staying at Best Western any more, but the place we are at tonight is totally the opposite of the BW that this review is for, so there still are BW's that are well worth staying at!
Good value for the money, Convient to a Mcdonalds ant the interstate. Value for the money with a pancake station that the kids loved to use and make their own pancakes. Family vacation road trip to the east coast.
this best western lived up to expectations with a comfortable bed, clean room, good breakfast, friendly staff, but somewhat difficult access. quiet time was supposed to start at 10PM but the occupants in the room above us were apparently having a trampoline party!
The hotel is nice and the employees are the best. All the employees was on top of things. Checking in and out was a breeze. We booked our hotel for next year already and Kyra made that an easy process. Getting off the highway was a breeze and getting to COSMO Park was easy also.
On the way to Mom's funeral from Arnold, MD to Colorado Springs, CO. Drove many long hours stopped at sever places outside St. Louis MO. They wanted $200+ for a nights stay. I was tired but not crazy. Just wanted a place to get a good night sleep & dinner. This place was right up my ally.
The room is nice the hotel is nice and the employees are the best. Breakfast was ok, but not bad. The hotel is located off a highway but was not noise and food and shopping not far away. The night guy was the best and was on tip of things
Arrived after dark and the neighborhood appeared a little sketchy. Also difficult to get to off the highway. (Daylight gave a much better sight.) Everything was okay with the room and breakfast. Our only problem was the cable TV. It kept skipping out on us. We tightened the wiring; it would work for awhile then go out again. A general comment that applies to all hotels: It seems that the new hotel room refrigerators are coming without a freezer section. This is a problem because there is no way to refreeze our cool-its and hotel ice machines never seem to be able accommodate the ice need. I did not mark down which hotels this applied to but it seemed to be the newer refrigerators in all hotels.
Arrived late in the rain and Terra the manager was very helpful. Even offered to help with our bags. Very clean. Kids were able to get rid of some energy and swim in pool and hot tub. She even changed our room to be away from the elevator so we could sleep better!
Very clean and well decorated. The staff was helpful and professional. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, bagels, muffins, toast, rest fruit and more were all offered and delicious. Would definitely stay again!
This hotel was a nice place to spend the night, staff are great and very helpfull, I forgot to bring USB adapter plugs and when I asked where I could buy some in the area the front desk gave me two that people had left behind to use! Big help and time saver!
Clean hotel & close to major roadway. Modest but good breakfast options. Slow check in process, but staff was nice. Air conditioner worked all night - but is was around 100 degrees during the day - it did work though!
The hotel is a little difficult to get to and is located adjacent to I-70. The room and bathroom were clean. The front desk staff were pleasant at check-in and check-out. Breakfast was good with multiple choices, hot and cold, with ample seating. Only strikes would be the highway noise and getting to the hotel.
Hotel didn't have their Best Western sign installed yet so we had to find the little sandwich signs on the ground. But it didn't affect our visit. Very close to I-70 but noise was not an issue. Comfortable beds with lots of pillows and nicely decorated. We missed breakfast but Bobby Evans was right in front of the hotel. Inside entrances to rooms. No problems with WiFi. Staff were very nice and friendly. I would certainly stay here again.
Very impressed with this hotel. When we first arrived in the building it was like OMG it is beautiful. Terra greeted us and was really great. After got checked in she offered to Google somewhere close to home where I could get my cell phone repaired. 5 stars for Terra. Room was also an OMG it's beautiful. Beds were pretty high, but oh so comfortable. Good housekeeping staff as there was nothing amiss in the room. Swimming pool, spa/hot tub, exercise room. Looking forward to another stay. Highly recommend this hotel.
I really enjoyed the staff here. They were friendly and overly helpful. The hotel is slightly outdated outside but the rooms are updated. Beds are comfortable. Good shower pressure. Towels are scratchy. Rooms were very clean. Very close places to eat within walking distance. Very close to I-70. There is some road noise but not a major issue. They need to fix the drapes in the rooms so you can block the outside light better. I would stay here again if I can find it again.
Nice average hotel with well decorated roomy rooms and a nice staff. The breakfast had a nice selection of food from dry cereal to oatmeal, eggs, bacon, pancakes, yogurt and drinks. Parking was roomy and close to our room.
The first room we were given had a door which sounded like a sound track from a horror movie...We were moved to the second floor which was as cramped and crowded as the first. This room was very small (amazed that Corporate could have approved such an inferior plan for a fairly new building) and: two out of the four lamps had burned out bulbs, no microwave in the room, instead of luggage racks there was a large chest at the foot of the bed which further restricted movement in the room. The sink was outside the area from the tub and toilet and was very small. The counters on both sides were five inches wide at best. There was no newspaper (on a Tuesday) and no highway signs leading to the hotel. All this for $120.93!!!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus in Columbia, MO. The staff was congenial and the breakfasts were very good. My wife thought the mattress was a little uncomfortable, but I did not notice any problem. We found the location to be very convenient, and the price acceptable. We would strongly consider staying there again on our next trip to Columbia.
I will not hesitate to call this hotel every time I stay in Columbia. The CLC rate is reasonable, and the quality of the property matches the professionalism of the staff. I especially recognize Tara who completed the check in process with a smile and enthusiasm to answer my questions and make sure I felt right at home. This reflects well on the ownership of the property. Even though the property is located right next to the Interstate and other busy roads, the property was quiet.
After reading a lot of reviews, I had high hopes for this hotel, even though the price was pretty low. (About $75-$80 I believe). The room looks nice initially because it looks like new furniture was recently added. I had a few things to refrigerate, so I opened the fridge, and it wasn't even turned on. Not only that, but there was a towel in it sitting in a puddle of water (I'm assuming from the freezer?). The room was warm, so I turn the AC on, and notice that the curtains around the AC area were stained with what looked like yellow water from condensation. There were black streaks on the bathroom floor, along with a large black blob of something, and when I reached down to pick it up, it smeared even more. Believe it was a hunk of someone's eyeliner pencil, or mascara. But sad very disappointed to know the floor wasn't previously cleaned if that was left there. Then, the next morning when I went to sit at the desk, I found several ants crawling around the table lamp on the desk. This was not the worst place I've stayed, but it is nowhere near the best. I'd look elsewhere in the future.
I booked this motel for my husband and his sister who were traveling to visit their ill brother. I specifically asked for a first floor room near the breakfast bar because my husband just had a total knee replacement and is not walking well. When he arrived, they had him booked on the third floor. When he complained about the booked room & why they hadn't read the special request, they gave him a first floor room, but way down at the end of the hall. We are loyal Best Western customers, too bad management doesn't care about trying to serve people who continue to patronize their motels.
This was the best stay during our 2 1/2 week road trip. We used Best Western each night except the three nights we found Best Western's with no vacancy. The staff and breakfast managers were efficient and made a real effort to keep the tables clean, the trash cans emptied and the counters stocked. The building was both new and clean. I can recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation. The desk manager, Terra, was especially helpful in providing options for our stay and amenities available for our convenience. The hotel has very easy access from Interstate 70 with good restaurants in the area.
This facility is extremely well maintained with a helpful friendly staff. Location is northeast of downtown Columbia, just north off I-70 and US hwy 63. From this location, it is easy to traverse to Columbia for University events. The motel is also close to restaurants, and shopping. I happened to pick a University graduation weekend and the room charge was somewhat pricey. However, from previous experience, the rooms are generally very affordable.
After considering several other hotels on our visit to University of Missouri - Columbia, we chose Best Western for all it had to offer. Reasonable rates, great location, wi-fi and breakfast. It did not disappoint. We recommend this location to anyone coming to Columbia Missouri. .
The staff was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The room was very clean, and smelled fresh. The seemed a little cramped. There was a lot of furniture, some could have been done without. But as we were only thee for 1 night it wasn't an issue. The bed was comfy and we had plenty of nice pillows. There was some traffic noise, but that's unavoidable. There were 2 restaurants across the parking lot and we were able to walk over for supper. Which was a good thing as the street layout of that corner was very congested. Traffic blocked the intersection and left turns were very difficult. This does not affect my rating for the hotel itself, but could be a consideration for those with a faint heart for heavy traffic. We left early before breakfast, but was given a cup of coffee for the road by the morning clerk. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely stay again.
We traveled to Columbia MO for our grandchildren's graduation. We were very pleased with the accommodations as well as the friendliness and courtesy of the staff. The facility is located at the northwest corner of the city a couple blocks off the interstate. The room was spacious and well maintained. The rate was excellent!
If you want a clean, comfortable place to sleep without breaking the budget, this is it. These were the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept on but the room was a bit small. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. The service was friendly but the breakfast was mediocre. There is definitely highway noise so not a good place for a light sleeper but very conveniently located with easy access to everything in the area.
I happened to book BW due to sold out at every where else. It turned out very good place to stay. Breakfast was not so tasty, but it was good enough for me who always skip breakfast on regular basis. This place just remodeled. Pool /spa is not available yet. But overall, it is very clean and good comfort place.
We were here for only one night but experienced no problems with our room. It was clean and comfortable, the shower was GREAT, and the price was right. If we are in the area again, we will certainly stay here again.
Very clean, with newly renovated lobby and rooms. Beds were very comfortable and service was nice and pleasant. Breakfast was not great but was offered. I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.
I wasn't expecting much when our group chose this hotel. The website advertises that they "accept long term stays, plenty of room for large trucks and our pool is out of order". However, upon stepping in lobby I was hopeful. It was clean, updated and had a nice overall atmosphere. The room was nice. Very clean, new carpet & paint and the bathroom was spotless. I was very pleasantly surprised. The breakfast spread was okay, about what you would expect for the price. There was an attendant keeping things replenished which was nice. Advertised rate still seems a little steep for the hotel but we had negotiated a group rate which made it a good deal overall. I would recommend the hotel after staying there. Not sure what the status is on the pool, our group wouldn't have had time to use it anyhow so wasn't a concern for us.
This is a new hotel within the area. And believe me, you are going to breath it as soon as you get into your room. The room and hotel in general were clean. I really hope they can keep it that way. Better than expected good customer service. They provide hot breakfast.
Booked through Expedia, and check in and out was quick and flawless. The employees I dealth with were very nice and helpful. The location is nice because it is right off of Hwy 70. The hotel looks nice and is updated. The bed was very soft and comfortable. The breakfast was a decent spread, had bagels, toast, juices, hard boiled eggs, sausage sandwiches, yogurt, etc. The biggest complaint I have is that the indoor, heated pool that they advertise, was closed due to being broken, so that was disappointing. The second complaint I have is that our room did not have a microwave...in their defense I went back on expedia and it does not list that as an ammenity. I was mistaken when I thought I had seen it. Overall it was a good stay.
This hotel looks nice from the exterior, but unfortunately had a number of issues. Pros: Clean Room with nice decor Comfortable Bed Convenient to many sit down and fast food restaurants Large bathroom Cons: Highways on four sides so it is difficult to get to and cannot escape road noise Reservation on line requested a King room, and got a Queen Room was extremely small with too much furniture crammed in it No complimentary water for reward members as other "Plus" hotels provide No exhaust fan in bathroom and no makeup removers No microwave and coffee maker had to be unplugged to turn off Water leak under bathroom sink Pool out of order Elevator chugged as though it was about to break Breakfast was acceptable. Eggs were greasy, bagels uncut and fruit was badly bruised There are plenty of hotels back off the highway so a return stay is very unlikely.
Columbia BW was very clean, nice, new and comfortable sleeping. husband said elevator was noisy, but I didn't hear it. Breakfast sitting area was roomy and comfortable. Staff was friendly. paint job in the bathroom was sloppy, but that really doesn't impact the stay, just looked sloppy and low class.
This hotel is nicely remodeled, but it's so close to the busy interstate traffic there is constant noise from the traffic. It's not terrible for the price, but if the traffic noise will bother you keep looking. Bob Evans restaurant is a short walk across the parking lot.
This is a VERY recently redone property the pool was not yet open during my stay. The beds are nice pillow tops and the whole property has new carpet and paint etc...The only thing I could say is it was not as clean...maybe construction has Just been completed on the room I was in but still white dust etc all around. Not a big deal and I am sure once completed it will be Excellent
Stayed here driving back from Colorado. Stayed at 2 other BW on our trip and been home runs so went with another. The hotel is beautiful and easy excessable from interstate. Convenient to resturants and whatnot. Room was clean and similar the one we stayed in night before in Co Springs just with different color scheme. Bathroom was nice and clean. The Beds were so Comfortable. Stay here for a great nights sleep! Very pleased with Best Western not where usually book our stays but in 7 days stayed in 3 of their hotels and have been blown away. Have earned us as customers.
Friendly staff, hotel was clean, Rooms are nice and price was affordable. I did not try the breakfast, but the area looked clean and presentable. When we first arrived there were police around that found a deceased body close by. We were a little concerned with the location as we found out a lot of homeless roam the area and beggers around hotel and street corners. Nothing the hotel could do, other than that we were pleased and we did feel safe and our cars were fine in the parking lot.
Room was adequate amount of space. The thermostat was easy to set. The beds were clean and comfortable. Staff is VERY friendly and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again. Clean rooms. The Breakfast wasn't anything to brag about, but had some pastries to choose from and a little bit of juice.
toilet would not flush, used the waste can to add water to make it flush, a real pain. Otherwise a very nice hotel, comfortable, new, pilltowtop bed, almost silent HVAC, clean, recently remodeled. But a functional toilet is important ! Before staying here again, would verify that toilets are functional.
Very nice hotel. Best deal in Columbia. Thirty seconds to the interstate and great access to downtown in just a few short minutes. Have recommended this to others and will be staying here again. This hotel was shockingly nice. Everything was like brand new. The bed was nice. Very roomy. Nice television. Very quiet. Also close and convenient to several restaurants. It had plenty of parking and the breakfast was above average.
This hotel had been recently remodeled and was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The internet worked well and the common areas were clean. Check in was smooth and the staff was polite. Also a good value for what we paid. My only complaints are poor quality sheets (however clean and fresh) and an understaffed breakfast area with a below average selection. It was however clean and the staff working was extremely pleasant and polite. We would stay on this property again and would recommend it to others. If street noise bothers you, request a room facing the front of the building as a 4 lane highway is within 100 yards of the back of the building.
On the night we stayed, it had been raining all day and the drive was unreal. We contacted the front desk to get directions and she was right on and we made it in less than 10 min. after we called. I think her name was Chris and she was so wonderful. Because she knew we were on our way ( I made reservation earlier only two hours away) she had turned on the heater and lights and the room was ready when I walked in, 2 min later we were in the room resting after a long drive. Best of all.....it was a brand new hotel and everything was so pristine
We drove 11 long hours to get to this reservation. We really enjoyed the great service from the check-in clerk and that bed really contributed to a wonderful nights sleep. Convenient location just off I-70.
