Clean room and temperature was comfortable. Able to adjust the temperature to our liking. Staff was friendly, especially housekeeping who we encountered while coming and going. Very comfy beds with great pillows. We will stay here again.
I have been going to this particular, BEST western hotel in Abilene, Texas for over two years. I stay there at least five nights once a month. I have always had excellent care and any questions I have been answered with no problem. I will continue to stay there as long as I am able to go to my job in that city. I enjoy staying there because the owners and the staff are very hospitable and make you feel very welcome.
The 'curb appeal" isn't the best. However, the rooms were very clean, water pressure was very good, AC worked perfectly. Staff was courteous. Breakfast was better than exprected.
After checking we noticed an odor, it smelled like exhaust, specifically diesel exhaust. We tried with the heater on and with it off and there was no improvement. I notified the desk and asked him to check it out. After he came I noticed the odor was in the hall ways as well. He told me others were complaining as well and he was going to call the fire department to have them check it out. I told him that we couldn't stay with the odor, I gave him a card with my information and asked him to ask the manager to call me the next day. Then we left at 1:00 am. The manager never called, so I called the next day and I was told the manager was off for the rest of the week. I finally got in touch with Nichole the manager and told her what had happened, she claimed she knew nothing about what had happened and refused to give us a refund. So, either Nichole's personnel are incompetent or Nichole is a liar, either way I would not recommend this facility for anyone. I believe the odor was coming from the truck stop right next door, there was idling semi trucks close to the entrance of the facility and every time the front door was opened the odor flooded into the building, The Holiday Inn Express is within a block and was very nice and odor free.
Made a last minute reservation when we came to town for a conference at one of the universities. Rooms were clean and updated. No fancy bells or whistles but great location and value. I would stay her again without hesitation.
I had an outstanding experience at Best Western, thanks to Vincent. His exceptional service stood out – he was not only super nice but also incredibly fast in addressing our needs. Vincent's dedication truly enhanced our stay, making it both comfortable and enjoyable. Kudos to him for providing excellent customer service!" Parking is sadly limited. So get here early!
After calling the front desk asking for a replacement hair dryer because the one in the room wasn't working, I was told they do not have extras since they are attached to a wall. When asked if I could have access to a room with a working hair dryer, I was told the hotel was all full. While I don't have access to hotel records, I did notice the parking lot was not even half full neither was the the breakfast area.
We have stayed at this hotel almost every year for the past 6 or 7 years. It has always been a good stop for us during our travels through West Texas. Now, with the remodel and very friendly staff, it is great. We will be back.
I first walked in the room and it smelled like cigarette smoke/musky smell. There was spiders in all corners of the room The floor wasn't clean/vacuumed. Someone was smoking weed outside our window and you instantly could smell it coming from the AC unit so the ventilation was terrible. Breakfast was ok but everything was cold, no fruit. I took my kids to swim and the designated smoking area was at the pool so there was people smoking. $170 is definitely not worth the stay at this hotel.
The hotel room was dank, dirty, and it smelled bad. The A/C chugged along but the room was humid. The sheets seemed unwashed and there was urine encrusted around the hinges of the toilet seat. It was really gross. The front desk guy was very kind and polite.
Hotel was clean, my first and foremost requirement. Sec ond, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good, plenty of coffee. AC was crazy good so much I had to turn it down a lot. Room was nice and the price was exccellent.
Front desk staff super helpful and caring. Rest of staff needs more training on manners. Great location. Clean rooms. Nothing to special or outstanding regarding rooms and price you pay. Hope this helps
When our remote & TV didn't work the front desk girl kept acting like we were a bother. The pillow had large smears of makeup on it , facing down when we checked in. We turned it in the front desk. the next day we received a call saying a pillow is missing from our room. We informed them we turned it in because it was dirty when we checked in & still waiting for the replacement! By the 4th night they finally came to check out the remote & realized our TV was indeed not working & moved us at 11pm to another room. I would not recommend this motel.
This was a very nice hotel, large room and very nice breakfast. The staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful, the two front desk attendants (check-in and check-out) and the breakfast area attendant. The breakfast food was good, there was a good variety, and the attendant kept everything well stocked and the breakfast area clean. The room had a large walk-in shower (no tub), with clean and comfortable linen and bedding (pillows, mattress, comforter, etc.). The only negative thing I can say is that the pool needed to be clean. We weren't going swimming but did sit outside by the pool and it had a heavy film on top of the water.
The room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom needs to be updated, but fully functional. Breakfast was marginally OK, but I have had better at other BW sites. AC/Heat did not have knob when we check-in, but was corrected on next day.
Toilet was clogged upon arrival which makes me question the maid service. I was then told they could bring me a plunger so I could try to unclog it. No way am I cleaning or unclogging a hotel toilet with someone else's mess in it.
My wife and I spent 6 nites at the Best Western Abilene Inn because there was no room for us at our grandchildrens' home over Christmas. The Inn was clean, quiet, and the staff was friendly and knowledgable. We slept well.
Best Western franchises can be somewhat hit or miss, but this property in Abilene has been recently updated and is in top-notch shape! Very clean throughout and friendly, efficient staff. Kudos to the owners, management and staff for making this such a pleasant stay!!
The hotel is clean and the lady on check in was very pleasant and helpful. However, in the morning we were very disappointed. The bath didn't drain properly when using the shower. Worse was to come, the lady who was in charge of breakfast was very rude. She was more concerned with eating her own breakfast and minding a small child who was with her husband! She didn't smile or answer at all, we had to ask for more eggs, the coffee pot was empty, the hot water was cold, the biscuits were hard. We arrived at 9am (breakfast is served until 9.30) The lady on reception was not much better and was also minding a small child (may have been the same one) We had intended to stay another night but after this I was not going to give them any more of my money.
2 story hotel feels a little weird. The bedding felt very rough/coarse. Other than that, it was ok. Checkout is 1 hour earlier than most hotels, that sucks. It's also off of a main road so that means construction workers tend to stay which brings quality down fast.
Checkin 10pm got woke by front desk 2:20am and just keep calling both of my rooms for an issue that could have be resolved in the morning , asking me to come to the front with my credit card when they are the ones that mess up not a good place to stay
We stayed for one night and what a nightmare! A late night major ant infestation lasted long after the empty cookie wrapper was removed. It took an hour to kill more than 20 ants that kept swarming on the table between the beds. That morning, another large ant was found in one of the beds. After complaining to the front desk staff, we tried to contact the Manager (Rebecca Ramirez) and the General Manager (Kristi Norman) many times but there was no response. After a Best Western survey, we received a canned reply from the Manager with no mention of our situation. After contacting the Best Western "I Care" Department, we were offered a $50 reduction in a future visit but never received it by mail, e-mail, text or on their member website. Lizette closed the case and refused to ask the Manager or General Manager to follow up with us. The conditions at the hotel were poor but their customer service is horrible. We are a Best Western member but will never stay at the Abilene location again and are reconsidering a stay at any Best Western in the future. We advise you to do the same.
Me and my brother need a place to stay for the night, check in around 11pm, just passing thru. We were really tired, we slept about 12:30. We woke up about 9am, my brother went to get his clothes near the small hallway behind the door there was water leaking in from outside. The bathroom was still dry no water on the floor in there at all. My brother open the door, there was a lady(owner) in the hallway when she saw him she immediately accused him of not causing the leak and not reporting it. I was still in the room and I heard it all. She didn't even asked us if we need anything or come inside our room to check it out. I was very angry, I told my brother to pack up and we are checking out. As we was leaving there was another tall man standing outside waiting on us, again he raised his voice accused us of causing the leak and didn't report it. I was very angry I just walked away and headed toward the check out counter. My brother is the calm one he actually said sorry to him because he keep batchering(accused) us about is our fault and why didn't we call right away. He claim to be the maintenance man but I think he is the owner too. He never once go inside to take a look at the bathroom or the little hallway. When I was checking out, I asked the lady who was that man that was screaming at us in the hallway, she said the lady and the man(who claim to be maintenance man) were the owner. Around 5:30pm that evening I got a voicemail from the lady that check us out that they found where the leaked was coming from and they were sorry. Nobody like to be accuse of something they didn't do especially when we know we didn't do anything to cause the leak. This was the worst experience I ever had with any hotels. I will never go back and I can't believe they are part of Best Western! I will remember this for a long time and will tell everybody this Best Western Abilene is the worst ever!
The value was good. We actually slept the best here on our road trip than many similar brands such as Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Empress. There is plenty of security cameras being actively watched, so we felt our trailer was safe. We would stay again if passing through.
This is a decent BW. But our toilet seat had urine and pubic hair on it when we got to the room Unaccepatble! The rest of the room was adequate. The area around seemed secure. No traffic noise to speak of!
My husband was not allowed to check in as the room was registered under my debit card. The person checking us in was not very friendly. We were required on the spot to sign an agreement stating that they would charge my card $50 in advance as a pet & smoking deposit and it would be refunded if they found no evidence of pet or smoking. (We had no pets and do not smoke.) I have never experienced this at any hotel before. Why weren't we told this when we made the reservation? The room was comfortable and clean. Shampoo was provided, but not conditioner (Is this their norm? Don't know, but again, never experienced before.) Breakfast was fair. Upon check out, we encountered the bright spot of the hotel-the woman behind the desk, Peggy. She was very friendly; however she was new and couldn't address our question, which was why our AAA discounted rate was higher than the maximum rate posted on the back of our room door. She referred us to a man seated in the breakfast area. He told us that the sign was very old, that rate didn't apply and that the rate was over $50 than the posted rate. When we told him that it was unlawful in Texas to charge more than the "maximum rate" and that a rate change required a 30 day notice, he turned, rudely walked away from us and waved his arm at us in an indignant manner. Peggy later called me back to let me know that the manager (I don't know who the first man was.) said they would be refunding us the difference. She was very kind and helpful! But, why didn't the manager himself/herself call us to rectify the complaint? Again-rudeness. My concern is with how many other people they have done this to (the hotel was booked that night-they were turning people away as we were checking in) and for how long they have been doing this.
We were there for a quick trip but were impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general. The hot breakfast was delicious. The only issue we had was with the internet but we did not ask anyone for help so it may have been easily fixed.
Hot breakfast , friendly staff. Would like to see a better option on coffee creamer . Leaving a hotel with a good cup of coffee. Coffee creamer makes a return visit an easier decision . Staff were friendly and accommodating . Did not set wake up call as asked . Returned a second time and made sure it was set by staff. She did not set alarm and I woke up late .
Motel was clean staff was friendly and knowledgeable . Beds were very comfy. We got a good nights sleep even though motel is close to the interstate. The staff was able to direct us to our destination
The site is easy to get to off of I20. Convenient to activities within Abilene. Room was comfortable, Clean and good AC. The breakfast is not to write home about. Pretty average for a quick bite and go. Good selection of fruit, eggs, sausage, cereal, and T Size pancake.
I was traveling alone and had booked a hotel close to the Best Western. When I got to my booked hotel room it did not look safe so I was able to cancel. I called around and found the Best Western. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helped me book online with the app and saved me 15% on the room rate. I felt very safe at this hotel. Staff friendly, room clean!
An angry Indian lady lectured us about not scratching the walls because they had been freshly painted. We never touched the walls during our stay. The place smelled like paint. The bed sheets had stains on them and so did the towels. The breakfast was cold so I didn't eat it and went to Dennys instead.
Don't stay here- they will blame you for their toilet malfunctions!!! very bad service!!!!! Water flowed out in the hallway and all they did was yell at us and told us to leave instead of offering another room.
Very unprofessional , this was the very firat time i was not Thanked for beimg a BW Platinum member nor was i given a little bag of goodies the blonde employee whom was over hearing my conversation with the employee checkimge in says we dont do that here we just have these 6 oz waters to welcome you i was in shock by what she said , i also had to come back down and ask for some shampoo and conditioner ( blonde again ) say all we have is shampoo thats fine can i get some , also breakfast was very cold eggs , sausages , bisquits were all cold gravy was hot but bottom of pan like there was made enough and we were there promply at 6 when breakfast is served ,milk tasted gross we ended up not eating and threw the food away , i did tell the lady who checked me in the night before , also i was told i would recieve extra rewards points but never put on !!!
Terrible, Best western was my favorite at one time not now! Hard beds, noisy halls and agents with no care but their self. Tried 3 hotels this year and wont be back. Cant believe that this is what is given for the price that is charged and don't even acknowledge you when you reach desk untill you speak then they put phone down and act like you are a hindrance to serve.
This hotel was extremely dirty, the AC unit was turned off when we arrived in our room so it was extremely hot. There were water stains on the ceiling, the TV didn't work, the chair had a stain on it, the refrigerator wasn't plugged in, and our towels had hair all over them. No hot breakfast (even though it says there is). Please save yourself the discomfort and book someplace else.
Horrible Horrible experience! I booked a room through 3rd party which the front desk clerk canceled with out calling me. After we got the car running again and we arrived at 3:30am to find out we did not have a room any longer I had to pay for the room again. Front desk clerk was rude to myself and the Bestwestern Customer Service Agent trying help me. We finally got into a room at 5am only to have to check out by 11am. I was told by the manager the day I checked out that he would get tjis resolved and call me back. I have yet to hear from him or Bestwestern regardinging this matter.
Reception clerk needs some professional customer service training. Most times I have discovered that the attitude is a reflection of the management above her. After getting Owner/Manager involved, I checked in and found the room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hot and fresh.
Awesome staff, great Breakfast with everything you can think of is available! Pool is open. Rooms are nice! Even lemonade water for guest in entrance! Nice for hot day. VERY nice place and highly recommend
While I'm a loyal diamond member with Best Western, This location has been the worst service we've ever encountered. The maintenance staff entered the room without knocking, another couple entered having the same room key and most importantly, the desk clerk LITTERALY told my my wife to "SHUT THE F**K UP" when she said they didn't give a crap and then retreated to the back room before she could respond !
Looking at the place from the outside alone wouldn't have impressed me. The check in experience wasn't impressive either. I was told there would be a $50 deposit at check-in and refunded at check-out. I had no problems. We were assigned a room on the first floor. The hallway was nice and well maintained. The standard two queen bedroom was ample too, better than the Fairfield place we stayed south of town two weeks prior. The shower stall was better than most. I usually use my own shampoo but opted to try theirs. I was not disappointed! This is almost like a Hampton Inn quality but a notch below. We left the AC on low cool and it was adequate. Breakfast hall was packed the next morning. Saw some hot items on the counter. We did not have time for breakfast but left after checking out. Overall, pleasantly surprised at this Best Western location in a little outback town in Texas. We visited Dixie Pig for breakfast and were very satisfied! What excellent service! Good job to the owners of this BW place! Stephen
avoid this hotel! rooms and bed sheets are not kept clean. My family and I stayed one night and it was the worst experience I have ever had while staying in a hotel. We communicate that our rooms were not clean and sheets were dirty, we were told housekeeping would be by our rooms to take care of the issue. No one ever came. Then later that night after my Child had became ill because of something she ate she vomited on the way to the bathroom Inside our room. We notified front desk to see if housekeeping could come by the room or if we could get some cleaning supplies to clean up the room. Maya (first desk) rolled her eyes and said we could go across the street and buy stuff to clean the room. When we responded that she should not have an attitude she became extremely aggressive towards us. She called me a B**** and told me that the vomit was not her problem, it was my f****** problem. She proceeded to tell us that if we didn't like her attitude we could get the F*** out and leave the hotel. Mind you this is taking place inside the lobby at 12am. She went into the managers office and slammed the door. I was only trying to get the mess cleaned so we could go to sleep and have it sitting til the morning when housekeeping could take of it. when she finally decided to come out the managers office I asked for her to leave a note on file for the manager or the morning staff so we could address this in the morning. morning Staff had no idea of what happen because she failed to make any notes. No manager was on site and I kept getting the run around about who would be contacting us or what would be done. no One is management has yet to respond with a resolution. Besides the disrespectful way front desk handled the situation, this hotel does not have any protocols for bodily fluid exposure. This is absolutely unacceptable.
After a month of emailing and calling back the management at this property failed to refund my reservation that I cancelled within few hours after I made it. Absolutely the worst experience I had within last few years. Management - you have nothing to do with hospitality industry. Resign so that your customers do not have to experience your unprofessionalism, and ignorance.
My stay was pleasant. The staff was helpful and the hotel was neat and clean. The breakfast was yummy. The room was comfortable. The location of the hotel was convenient location. The person who help make the reservation was so helpful.
The room was ok some linens were obviously dirty and the toilet had stains that I had to clean myself. But the kicker was a brand new bottle of expensive cologne was stolen out of my room. My family stayed two nights at this establishment for a softball tournament. We spent the day at the tournament and made it to the room late. Upon getting ready the next day, my husband couldn't find his Brand new bottle of Versace Cologne. Reported it to the front desk and they initially claimed that housekeeping wasn't in the room at all until I asked, “Well how did the beds get made and towels get replenished?” Then the front desk clerk looked stumped and blew it off saying if it turns up they'll call me and she has notified the manager. Never again.
We pulled in to the hotel late afternoon and wanted two rooms near each other and the desk clerk was able to make that happen and we were in our rooms in no time. The hotel is not luxurious, but very clean and tidy and well maintained, good value for the price and is in a great location near the freeway , easy to get off and back on the freeway. I will definitely stay there again when I come back in the fall.
Hotel is a very convenient location for a visit to Abilene. Facilities are very clean and modern. Room was very clean and spacious. Staff was very polite and professional. Surprised at the variety of items available on the breakfast; even had hot items.
Great upgrades in your rooms. The bathrooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Entire room was very clean. I have stayed at this BW over t he last 10 years. Most of the time the hotel was acceptable and usually the least expensive for a quick stay. This time, I was thoroughly impressed with the upgrades and the cleanliness. Highly recommended and price was exceptional.
I was surprised the prices are so low for such a brand new looking hotel. The facility was extremely clean and the beds were AMAZING! I would stay here any time and the price for what you get is amazing! The breakfast was hot and delicious with good variety.
The hotel looked exceptional. A photographer outside was taking updated photos and mentioned that it was just remodeled. Great job folks! Staff was nice, rooms were immaculate, beds were comfy and clean as well as QUIET.. Great night's sleep.
This is a wonderful location at a great price point. The property is newly renovated and very comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Abilene. Thank you!
The lady that checked me in was rude and not helpful at all. I have never been treated this bad at a best Western. Plus she didn't keep the front desk clean and had trash all around her. Everything else was up to standards
Front Desk Clerk Rude and lacks skills to work with and waiting on customers . was told this location charges an additional $50.00 deposit on rooms due to: was told funny stuff going on lately. I own two corporations and stay best western weekly multiple times for my company and have never been told this before. the tv was non working and room air conditioner was off when arrived in room, it was so hot that it took until 12;30 am for the room to get cool so that I could sleep. on my check out the clerk never said one word and when I received my receipt I said that you and the clerk said UH HUH. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN AND 1/2 MILE FROM MY BUSINESS.
The hotel was very nice and clean and easy to get to. I did not like the fact that I was charged a $50 fee for amenities. We arrived there at 9pm and left at 6am. We didn't have time for amenities. I called for the refund and was told it was refunded. Now I have to call the bank charge card. I have been charged these amenities before and was never refunded by the hotel....not this one.
I woke up to ants in my room one was in my bed and refrigerator was dirty had bugs and it was defrosting with brown ice on back wall of refrigerator and water running out the bottom. They did nothing!!
The tables in the room were visibly dirty, and one of the pillow cases had green stains on it, and the sheets had red stains. The maid argued with my wife when we asked to have the tables cleaned and refused to change the pillow case changed. When we asked for the bed linens to be changed we were told that we could check out and have our money refunded if we wanted, but the linens would not be changed and that there weren't any extra linens for me to change them myself. The front desk told us that the maid is involved with the management, so we had nowhere to take our request for clean linens.
We have stayed at this location several times with no issues. This time we had multple issues. We were woke up at 2:00am with the smoke alarm chirping with the low battery alarm, we tried to slepp through it but evenually called the desk and was told nothing could be done until 9:ooam the next morning and pull the battery out. this is a hard wire system so pulling the battery doesn't work. I pulled the unit and placed it on the bathroom counter. We asked for a late checkout to get some extra sleep which wasn't recorded and had the desk calling about us checking out. Work crew was in the room next to us by 8:00am drilling and sawing. I voiced our complaints and got the obligitory "sorry this happened" I'm a Diamond member for years and will continue to follow the brand but it just goes to show you, not every hotel meets standards
If a customer forgets something in their room and calls Within 30 minutes of leaving the hotel to have you mail it. And they get you Cc to charge you the shipping fee... Make sure to find if and mail it. Don't just say “we couldn't find it” when the customer calls the next day cause they heard nothing. Considering it was a tempurpedic pillow that was on the bed. Kinda hard not to find. Either it was found and kept or just thrown away from careless employees. Smh.
Dangerous bathroom floors...slippery! Extreme noise from 7AM-7PM due to construction noise...not notified when making a reservation. Cigarette smoke permeates hallway...If you like smoking rooms, they still have them.Very limited food options during breakfast..
I called in the morning to make a reservation. The woman on the phone was impatient with me, as we did not have a good connection (I was driving, and on a hands-free device). When I arrived, the reservation had not been recorded, but I was able to get a room. The room was OK, a typical newer but not new Best Western room. Comfy bed, decent but noisy air conditioner, OK breakfast. But when I checked out, I explained the reservation issue to the woman at the desk, and asked her to make sure I hadn't been charged double, and she got huffy with me. Turns out, she was the one I guess I spoke to, though she claimed to not have talked to me. I showed her my phone with the record of the call, and she somehow blamed the reservation snafu on me. She was snippy and unpleasant, leaving a bad taste on what had been an OK experience to date.
When I booked the room they did not say they were under construction. I stayed in the room right below all the noise, just my luck. Did not get an apology or room change. Restroom had a lot of mold around the bottom of the tub. Rugs are rippled and outdated.
I would like more options on breakfast. Hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very clean. Will definitely use this hotel in the near future. The owner went out of his way to make my stay pleasant.
the hotel in abilene is an easy access from the expressway and is a clean hotel at a reasonable price. breakfast was very good and the coffee was hot. the hvac system was quite, a rare occurance when traveling. good hotek
Had reservation with Agoda booking indicating nonsmoking room. Was told that reservation was for smoking room. Showed clerk, Veronica, printed Agoda reservation showing nonsmoking room. She said would have to pay 15 dollars extra for it even though we had paid for room. She would not let me talk to manager. Called best western from room and they convinced manager to waive fee after sending them copy of Agoda booking we had showed to clerk. Clerk called room and said you got the 15 dollars back but you are blacklisted from hotel. Horrible place - dont go and get scammed.
it is near the highway and convenient to access the hwy, not far from the Brazilian steakhouse which is an excellent restuarant for dinning. Close to Wal Mart and Target. Mexican restuarant is next door
Excellent facility. Breakfast was outstanding and food was constantly being bought to the buffet. Room was clean but a tad disorganized. If I'm ever in Abilene again, I'll stay here again. Staff was friendly
The hotel staff were nice and the hotel itself was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The property is a bit dated and there are smoking rooms upstairs. Though our room was across from a smoking room our room didn't smell like smoke.
My wife and Iprimarily look for two things in an lodging, cleanliness and price. This establishment met both criteria easily. On top of this a friendly and efficient staff were definite pluses. This inn will be a first choice passing through Abilene in the future.
I have a reservation at this hotel. I have called the hotel 3 times. I was placed on hold each time and then disconnected. There is an issue with the reservation that needs to be corrected before checking in. Canceling reservation and going elsewhere.
Forgot to print out map for direction to the hotel. Called the hotel for directions i was all over the town for two hours going by the direction that was provide from the hotel. After two find the hotel by accident..
ANTS in the room due to food on the floor that was not cleaned before we arrived. Also, hair in the bathtub and on the bathroom floor due to poor cleaning. We were offered another room. Location is easily found on major Interstate.
The only thing that made this stay somewhat pleasureable was the breakfast. There were holes in the easy chair arms and stains on the matching chairs seats. Hot water was minimal but that may (but shouldn"t have been) have been because of the peak at checkout
You pay more to get a non-smoking room. Doesn't make since. The room was nice Not sure why I had to pay more to get a non-smoking room. It would be nice to just have a smoke free hotel and everyone pays the same amount.
My wife and three sister in laws stayed one night in this hotel. The staff in this hotel were unfriendly. We had to force an accommodation for connecting rooms even though we made the reservation days earlier. There were ants in the room and the breakfast area. When the front desk and the lady working the breakfast area were told about the ants, their reply was that we had brought them in on our feet. Hundreds of ants. NOT! There was no hot water in the shower and one of the handicap shower supports was loose. I normally give owners the benefit of the doubt, but this is probably the worst review I've ever given. We will not stay here again.
It was clean and most of the staff friendly. The breakfast was hot and had decent choices. The beds were comfortable. Easy to find and easy to get to and from. It was close to the things we needed to do
We had a very nice stay. Room was large, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was a typical roadside hotel breakfast that includes hot dishes (eggs, bacon, etc.). It was well stocked and very good.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Abeline. Our room was clean and comfortable. We could park the car right outside the window and keep an eye on our camping equipment. The staff were professional and courteous.
The hotel is clean and works but is la disappoint compared top other BW. The pool is tiny. Room service isnt great they forget to refill items. The ac was also on high and barely kept room cold. Also no close caption on TV so I couldn't watch shows with volume off while my partner slept.
Was not what I was expecting. I think it could be a great place to stay with some changes. The location is great but it was not good to have a smoke smell on arrival . The smell and conditions never got better.
I am posting this warning to alert the traveling public how some Hotels in this country rent unsafe rooms to the unwary guests! I am a 100% disabled Vietnam vet. I am 71 years old with a prostatic left hip, and traveling with my wife disable wife and a service dog. I am in the process of relocating to Tennessee from Arizona I stayed at a BEST WESTERN HOTEL named: Abilene Inn & Suites at 350 West Overland in Abilene TX, 79601 on 6/26/19. RM 135. I asked for the grab handle to be reattached to the shower wall. I showered earlier and damn near fell when I grab the handle to get in the tub. I called for the maintenance man. When he showed up, he said, “you need”? I said yes, I need the handle. I told him not to repair the problem now because we were leaving the next day. I told the desk clerk to fix the issue and wait until the following day as we were set to leave the following day. I told the clerk that if she sent me and email, I would reply and say I wouldn't use the shower. While I was out shopping, my wife was called by the maintenance man and told forcefully, “I have to fix the handle today or you have to check out”. I called the frt. Desk and I was told by the clerk, “I called Corporate and was told that this was a safety issue and because you reported it, we have to fix it now or you must check out.” The so-called maintenance man came in and my service dog barked the entire ½ hr. as my wife was forced to restrain her. This caused both of them untold stress! I have video of the man in the room as well as the unsafe handle. I am posting this on Facebook. I mentioned this to the clerk. I was told by the desk clerk that “if I did that, we have the right to ask for the video and that they would sue you”. So, I say sue away! Signed, James Lada
This hotel was the typical best western. Clean rooms, attractive decor, hot breakfast. Overall stagg was friendly and helpful. Location was good for the events and businesses I needed to go to I would recommend this hotel
My toilet overflowed and they offered me a plunger to use to unstop it. I told them sorry I'm not touching your nasty plunger that has been in every room here. Then they claimed to have no other room to put us in. So maintenance comes an hour later and unstopps toilet but leaves urine all over the toilet and floor. Do Not Get a room here!! Also the breakfast bar is very small. It's just not worth it!
OK, I'm not saying don't use this hotel, it's a perfectly good hotel for the price. My issue is that when my wife & I checked in, we were allocated a smoking room for disabled folk. Since we neither smoke or are disabled, we requested that we be allocated another, more suitable room. The reception lady called (phoned) her supervisor or line manager and was told to charge us extra for an upgrade. Naturally, we strenuously objected and it was only the intervention of a third person that stopped us from cancelling and taking our business elsewhere. We lay no blame on the reception lady, she was following instructions. Her line manager should have read the situation and acted accordingly. As I said, there is nothing wrong with the hotel but the management team could do with some re-training.
The location is great and right off a main road,. Staff is the best always kind and helping. I like the location of the pool it is ideal. Rooms are clean tidy. I loved all the choices for breakfast. The Texas shaped waffles are my favorite.
Breakfast attendant Jerri, left the gravy on the breakfast bar after I told her about it. I had to remove the gravy after 2 other guests attempted to get gravy. Then she started arguing with me after I told her to please do her job.
The hotel is okay but the prices move as many as 4 times a day. Reserved at $139 and when we arrived at the hotel the prices had dropped to $119 and could not be changed. I would not stay at this hotel again for that reason. However the stay was comfortable and pleasant enough except for the smoking odor in the hallways.
My reservations were messed up from the start and hotel, staff were rude and not accommodating at all. We were billed for rooms after being told we didn't have a reservation for them and had to go to another hotel to get a room.
this was the best place to stay in Abilene. The staff will make it a great stay, so stop in an say hi today. you will be glad you did. great place. see all the great sites that Abilene has too see. you will love it here.
This is a horrible place. Walking in the door you get a horrible smell. Then you meet the young lady at the front desk who seems to have a chip on her shoulder. She insisted I had booked a smoking room when I had not. Then she said she could offer me non smoking for $40 extra per night. She kept saying she could not do anything to help me until I told her I would be calling Best Western and filing a complaint. Mysteriously, she found a better rate. The room is smelly and there are people hanging around the front door drinking. RUN AWAY from this place.
WE have always stayed at Best Western Hotels when traveling. This one took us by surprise as they still allow smoking in some of the hotel rooms. While you could not smell it in the room, it was horrible in the hallways. The breakfast the morning we were there was very sub-par. My husband went down at 7:30 and there was hardly any food left and breakfast was served until 9.
The hotel is very nice. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. It is so quiet and makes for a restful stay. The hot breakfast is tasty and gets the day off to a good start! I can highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Abilene.
Great place for the price. Stayed at other places in the area and this is now my go to Hotel when in this area. I mainly use for a place to sleep and shower. Everything is clean and working order on all 3 stays of 1 & 2 nights. The breakfast is always a plus.
Good hotel, quite for being so close to the highway. Room function well, no need for additional heat. Very good selection for breakfast. Food aid coffee were hot. Very good place to stay when traveling in the area.
My husband and I spent two nights here and were pleased with how clean and quiet it was. The breakfast was ok, typical motel fare. The second morning we bypassed their breakfast and went elsewhere. If we ever go back to Abilene would definitely stay again.
I only had time for a short stay in Abilene but staying at the Best Western made it an enjoyable stay. The check in and check out elements made for an excellent experience. The room was spacious and clean. I highly recommend this establishment for any stay in Abilene
The hotel smells like cigarettes, and the lady at the front desk was rude when I told her that I reaerved a non smoking room. I had to call the 1800 number and they confirmed that I was right, but the lady at the counter still wanted to argue. She finally got a hold of the manager and he was helpful. Also the lobby, hallway, and elevator smell like cigarette smoke.
I stayed on a Sunday only problem was bed wasn't that great. I went back on Wednesday and had a different room and the bed was awesome. I would stay at this motel again great location.staff was ok and friendly.
Stayed here with our dog. The hotel is on the outskirts of town, but there are restaurants very close, possibly walking distance. The hotel was quiet, other than hearing guests in the hallway. We were able to open the windows for fresh air as well.
The woman who polices breakfast is disrespectful and RUDE!!! You cannot hardly finish your food before she is TELLING you to leave your table. And there was not even anyone in the area needing a seat!! Last summer she was the same way. Never staying there again. No one wants to be treated this way!
nice hotel quiet and clean for being next to i 20. hdcp room had standard toilet not designed for a wheel chair person. breakfast same frozen wet eggs, soggy frozen potatoes, meat half cooked. plenty of hot water
Two floors (we stayed on the second floor). Rooms and breakfast was decent. However, there are four smoking rooms at the end of the second floor and the ENTIRE hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. Luckily the rooms did not smell, but if you are allergic to smoke, avoid staying here.
Old Run down hotel with a semi fresh coat of poorly applied paint,. If this was a super 8 or motel 6 I would rate average, Not nice. several other options in the immediate vicinity to pay to stay at this place,
We enjoyed our night stay. The desk staff was very friendly and nice. The breakfast was good and had a variety. The beds were comfortable and soft with extra pillows and lots of blankets for me. The interior and exterior of the hotel was clean and neat.
This hotel was really clean and even allowed me to check in prior to check in time with no issues. Check in was a breeze Had a great nights sleep after taking grandson out to an event. Woke up and shower was good with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was great,
Clean and quite!I've been staying here for years for work. It's very clean and about as quite as any place I stay. Beds are comfortable too! It has ample truck parking, for you Uhaulers, also, and there are two eating places within walking distance, one is 24 hours.
Stayed one night at this mid-range price motel. We had a good experience except that that hot water was more on the only warm side. Staff was cordial, beds were good and the property is pet friendly, but for the price, we rather expected to shower with hot water.
We arrived late in the evening and the 2 gals at the desk were pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were ok. The hand soap seemed rough and the toilet paper was thin and rough. Breakfast was good.
We had a great room, but I must have forgotten to say not near the ice machine...it did it's thing in the middle of the night...I didn't report it until the survey time...I wasn't going to change rooms in the middle of the night. Our room was big, and well appointed, I liked the place, will make sure about the ice machine next time. Will stay here again.
This was a grand location as well as well kept and very nice hotel. This was the third stay at this and only this hotel in Abilene, and I wouldn't gage my drive any better on I-20. This is a great place to take a deep breathe and relax. The staff are amazing, no matter the time of check in.
I paid for my room in advance on the Best Western website. I have asthma so I requested a 1st floor non-smoking room. Neither request was honored. We stayed in a 2nd floor smoking room that reeked. I had a hard time breathing all night. The desk clerk said that I got a discount so they gave me the smoking room. I was not offered a different room or even an apology. I won't be staying here in the future.
This is our go to hotel when in Abilene. We have family north of here so we come often. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast has plenty to chose from. Bed and pillows were perfect.
On the positive side the water pressure was great. The A/C worked very well. The carpet wasn't stained or worn. The bed was comfortable. The linens were all clean and had no bad odors. And it was very quiet during the night. The problem was a lazy cleaning person, I think. There were pieces of hair in the shower. The sides and bottom of the tub were slimey. There was mold on the ceiling over the tub and the wall over the tile. The big problem was what appeared to be a big smear of fecal matter on the top of the toilet seat, and urine splashes or stains on the bottom. I'm not the type to raise sand with the front desk, so I got to work cleaning the toilet and wiping down the bathroom in general. The smear was light so it was either made by a quick wipe by the cleaner or the previous occupants. Either way that was way below the standards of any Best Western I've stayed at (all over the country). The good news is that this is an easy fix. That's why I still gave 3 stars instead of 1. The management just needs to inspect behind the cleaners.
We stayed 2 nights. It's appears to be a slightly older site by the decor but the hotel was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable enough. We spent most of our time away from the hotel - mainly needed a place to sleep. We only took quick breakfast items with us but I saw that hot breakfast was available. I would stay here again.
For some reason our non smoking, standard room on the second floor I thought I had booked well in advance disappeared and we got moved to a smoking, handicapped room with a window right next to the pool area where people partied until about 1 am. The room stank of cigarette smoke, no vanity (just a sink) and loud people and music at the pool till very late. We have stayed here several times with no problems but either the booking agent or the hotel really blew it this time. Or .... Maybe I just didn't pay enough attention to the fine print. The local college must have had a game or something because there were no other vacancies available anywhere. So we were stuck with the crappy conditions.
This hotel didn't have as full of parking lot as the new Holiday or Hampton Inn next to it but I am in a wheelchair and Best Western's are our favorite hotel when traveling. This one did not disappoint us! It was easy check in, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable, it was easy to get around the room and the shower had lots of hot water with great water pressure. I only have 2 suggestions that could make this room better. It needs to have some counter space next to the sink and it needs a variety of pillows to choose from while sleeping. Thank you Best Western for making handicapped travel enjoyable.
Our room smelled like wet dog. The entire first floor hallway from the exterior entrance to well past our room smelled like wet dog. I learned, only after the fact, that they allow pets but only in the first few rooms near the exterior entrance door. I surely would hate to be in any of those rooms. They must be truly awful. We were several rooms down the hall but it didn't matter. It was truly disgusting. After one night we moved to the Holiday Inn. There we found a nice clean, fresh smelling room. You'd be better off camping in the parking lot of the local Walmart that staying at this dump. Avoid at all costs!!!
Overall a great hotel to stay at! Staff was friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. Easy to get to off of IH 20 and close to almost anything you could need. I will be staying here again when in the area.
There are many options in Abilene, chose another hotel. The ice machine had mold, we notified the hotel front desk person who could care less. She was more concerned in applying her makeup at front desk. We asked for additional towels (only 3 provided) and were given scratchy thin pool towels. No conditioner was provided and when asked for some, we were told none was available until morning. Breakfast was minimal with most things items undercooked or empty. We asked if they would be refilled and only napkins were provided. This may be our last Best Western stay ever.
Average, newish BW. Clean rooms, firm mattresses, air conditioner worked OK, small 4-table breakfast area with average hotel breakfast options, staff friendly. Nice pool. Not much stands out about it. Easily accessed on the Interstate. Not within walking distance of anything.Would stay again.
All was good and breakfast was good. Could use more fresh fruit but waffle was excellent. Also had scrambled eggs. Room was clean and hotel was easy to find. It was close to restraints and gas stations.
The hotel was in a great location, an exit away from ACU. The staff was great and the rooms were clean and well kept. Lots of dining not too far away. Well worth the price I paid for the room. I would definitely use this hotel in the future.
I would not recommend this hotel. It is old and rooms have not been updated. The bathroom doors would not close and when we got into the room the heat had been left on making the room about 88 degrees in May. We were also overcharged by the staff and the manager refused to help or call me back. I called 2 different times and though I was told I would see the difference when I checked out I was charged more. Be Aware
This was a very clean and comfortable hotel. They had a great variety of breakfast items in the morning although had to request utensils because they had run out. Very cute Texas shaped waffles! The room was organized to maximize efficiency for several family member to be getting ready at the same time.
This hotel was immaculately clean in all areas; rooms, bathrooms, laundry facilities and other common areas. The management was out and about tending to things the entire time of my stay. I wish all hotels were maintained to this standard. A very nice hotel experience at an affordable price!
Great staff, breakfast, pillows, bed and nice shower head. I travel a lot and can tell when people and going through the motions or truly care and this hotel has a great staff. Whenever I'm in Abilene area I stay here even though there are newer hotels I like the service a large rooms.
The Abilene Inn & Suits is a nice place. We enjoyed our stay very much after a very long road trip. Although we have had good experiences in other hotels, this one from Best Western was particularly nice hotel for a very reasonable price. We will certainly stay there again!
An excellent two night stay in Abilene. Friendly service was provided, the Wifi worked and the breakfast was adequate with the area kept clean. The room and property seemed well maintained. The only drawback may be that the location is not within walking distance of much, but this seems to be the case for most of the Abilene motels.
I've been staying here for 8 years, on to two and sometimes 3 times a week. The rooms are very clean, and there is a good bit of truck parking,(yeah I'm a Driver), but it's usuallu very quite. Easy access off I 20 at exit 286c!
This is a nice motel that is easy to find. The rooms are large and the beds are great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good internet and TV. Breakfast was the usual eggs, sausage and biscuits. The prices were good too. I would stay here again.
Beautiful, spacious, new, very clean, friendly staff greeted me upon my late night arrival. Could not have asked for better! Tasteful decor, good lighting, easy access. We could not have done better - on our trip home from Christmas.
Overall good stay. Breakfast is decent enough. The room was clean, and spacious for a king suite. The bef was comfortable. Near walmart, and some restaurants. I would stay here again. The only con is it is on the outskirts of Abilene.
It was a great clean place to stay and I would definitely recommend it again but I didn't like the breakfast but you might! The suites are nice and spacious. The staff was very nice and helpful and I would stay there again
Smelled terrible. Cigarette smoke. Stay away can't believe how bad it stunk and that they allow smoking inside the building. Breakfast was below average We just couldn't get past the smell. We both got ill. Made our trip terrible.
Generally good stay, front desk lady was fantastic, the room was generally pretty decent. The only not bright spot was the bed was lumpy, a standard spring mattress. Its directly off the interstate, which happened to be important to me for this trip.
Had a very bad day.. the staff went above & beyond her job duty.. room was clean.. bed was awesome.. plenty of pillows.. great sleep.. breakfast fit for a queen.. I love this hotel!! Will always stay here when booking in Abilene
I booked this on Hotwire but was pleasantly surprised. Nothing fancy but a good overnight stay. Bed was a little hard but I'm use to a memory foam bed too. Basic breakfast. Friendly staff. I would stay here again.
Overall very nice hotel for the price. Room was spacious. Only drawback was the entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke, even our room which was a non-smoking room. Breakfast was OK, eggs and sausage were cold.
The hotel was modern, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was good--a mix of hot and cold selections. Convenient to everything in Abilene, Texas. Check-in went smoothly. Check-out was a breeze. Would highly recommend.
A good place for a stopover as we were west bound on I-20. The room was comfortable for a one night stay but the layout didn't accommodate the furnishings as well as other establishment. Seams to be the same for most newer BW's we stayed in.
I was not told the pool was closed at check in. The pool was the filthiest I have ever seen at a Bes5 Wrstern. When I reported it to the front office reception, the lady, whose name, I do not recall, was surly and rude. And gave no explanation why the pool was dirty. We had the room for handicap persons. The shower water was never hot, and there was barely enough wate4 pressure. Many of the breakfast items were not hot.
we were very pleased with the improvements made to make our stay more enjoyable!, we had switched to a different chain & we will definitely stay with Best Western again. They charge a fair rate even for booking only 2 weeks ahead.
We were charged the regular walk in rate of $118 even though we had AAA and I am a platinum member. They admitted that the rate would have been $80 (after I had paid with a credit card) but we had to go on line to get that rate. My daughter woke me at 11:30 and said that she had gotten bit in her bed. She got bit by a huge bedbug. We took a picture of it. Then smashed it on the bed and it showed blood. We took more pictures. We went to the front desk to complain and they said we had to come back in the morning to get refunded as the girl at the front desk did not know how to refund our deposit. We left the hotel immediately and went to a nearby hotel that was fairly new. We went back in the morning and the manager told us that we wouldn't be charged and apologized after we showed her the pictures. I don't think that this was handled very well by Best Western. I usually stay at their hotels and have never had an issue before. They could have at least offered a free night's stay in the future but I will never stay at the Best Western in Abilene again.
We stayed here while visiting family, did some side trips in other areas of Texas, then came back for one night before flying home. First part of the trip we had a nice clean room with comfortable beds. Later visit that week we had a room with some ants visible where the bathroom floor and rug came together. The one bed had a soft saggy mattress that sunk down when you sat on it. Both visits we enjoyed the breakfast buffet including waffles shaped like Texas with a in the center. All in all it's ok. Next time we visit the area we will most likely stay here again.
This motel really turned me against Best Western. You need to insure minimum quality for the "name". Based on this experience, I will no longer use Best Western hotels. You never were the cheapest place to stay but up to now, the overall quality was at least fair. After Abilene, I'm convinced you as a corporation do nothing to protect the customer.
It started wrong when the clerk told me I had not book both room as non-smoking, which was wrong, but nonetheless was able to get them by taking both room as handicap accessible. I was traveling with my brother, who does require HC access in the toilet, and my son. So I had booked 2 non-smoking rooms, 1 was meant to be a king with HC access. We ended up with 2 non-smoking rooms and both had queen beds. (BTW, I logged in and checked the reservation in the room and I had not made any errors.) I got my brother in his room and then proceed to unpack the car and settle in. On completion of unpacking I went to check on big brother and the key card wouldn't work. 2x in a row. I was very worried about my brother, but the clerk had poor attitude (same one who told me I'd errored on the reservation). It just was not a pleasant stay. I was so angry that I reserved our next stop in Albuquerque at a Days Inn. One more thing: I don't know if this was a factor of having the handicap accessible room, but the bathrooms had no counters at the sink. I have never been in a hotel that had no bathroom counters. There was no place to put your toothbrush and paste, hair brush, razor, shaving cream or deodorant. The bathrooms really sucked.
Was very happy with our stay here. Helpful & pleasant staff. Comfy bed, clean, everything we needed. Good strong internet. Road construction in the area made it a bit tricky coming and going but nothing we couldn't handle.
I found this place nice, clean and par for the quality I expect from Best Western . Great personable staff .... they had just finished baking FRESH DELICIOUS (free) chocolate chip cookies and the lobby smelled WONDERFUL. And they said, "You can have as many as I like " .... even mom did not say that !
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Location was near Walmart if you needed anything and close to places to get something to eat. I needed a late check out and they were very accommodating. The TV was having some connection problems and they took care of it immediately.
1. They've allowed this place to slide as far as maintenance. Rotted molding around tub with creepy little bugs. Carpet has stretched out and is a definite tripping hazard. Weird stains on tissue hold and a few other places. Their customer's clothes dryer doesn't dry clothes after 3 cycles (I mention this to them the last two visits as well). Beds are old and not very comfortable. TV - POOR sometimes you had cable and sometimes not. 2. Cleanliness-bugs and nasty insecticide and mold smells. Allergies flaired up big time. 3. Staff- in previous years they were accommodating, however, this year REALLY BAD ATTITUDES. Even old staff from previous years. 4. Pool- not the cleanest, furniture old and it's surrounded by concert, asphalt and just off a noisy highwat I will not stay here again! I will let all the college campuses in town know not to recommend it. There are too many nice new hotels for similar prices.
This is a nice hotel, our stay was excellent. The staff is professional and friendly. The hotel was clean and well kept. We have stayed here several times and will stay again.Thank you to the staff that makes this hotel awesome.
Handicapped room was better than expected. Everything was very clean. (The property appeared to be fairly new.) It was easy to get on and off the property. On Interstate 20 frontage. Easy accessibility to eating establishments.
This was a one night stop over hotel on a road trip, but room was clean, hotel was quiet, and breakfast was good. We would stay again if in the Abilene area. I did not use any amenities so unsure about pools, etc.
I used to live in Abilene for three years back in the early to mid eighties. This location is easy connecting point to any of the activities and locations a person would like to visit in the area. The road construction on Overland Trail was not a deterrent to getting in and out. It will be going for a long time but should not keep you from selecting this location.
Put my employees up for a couple of nights, they were elated! Great service, clean rooms, breakfast for all, nice facilities. no complaints at all! One of them even requested that I book him back in a few days later!
Our visit was awesome BW western is a awesome, clean and best staff I have seen and manager is great and made our stay so awesome My room was so clean and fresh fully stocked bed was very comfortable I will be back for sure
Breakfast not very good and way to many people in way to small of a place. Could not find a chair anywhere. Breakfast items were completely out and nobody was filling them up. Disappointing!!! We have always enjoyed out stays at Best Western and found there breakfast's to be of very good items and very plentiful. Not this place.
Stayed one night while traveling through town on vacation. It is located on I-20 with easy on & off. Quality hotel, comfortable beds, good breakfast, all you need while traveling. I recommend stopping here on your next trip.
The Abilene,Tx BW stay I give a 10. Attentive friendly staff; had a King size comfortable bed with microwave and refrigerator on hand. Spacious room and good value. The breakfast lady made sure we had all we needed. I will stay here again.
I have always had a pleasant stay at Best Westerns and so was this one. Nice, clean hotel and grounds. Easy check-in and check-out, good wireless connection. Also, impressed with the number of items in the breakfast area. Just enough to get you going on your day. Another treat was the complimentary USA Today newspaper.. It is a n ice mid-price hotel for travelers.
The rooms were fine and clean. The young man who checked us in on Saturday, July 15th was very rude and argumentative. We were given pool towels when my husband went and got extra, so my daughter-in-law when to get hotel towels. The young man told her we just got towels and were not getting any more, she said can we at least have some wash clothes and he said I will give you three and that is all. Not sure how clean the towels were to start with. The next morning there was a young lady who fixed breakfast and was so sweet and pleasant. She was great. She should be at the desk at the peak time of check-ins. Below it asks to rate service, when the young man was there terrible.
Charged $25 for towels that were stained with pink soap.(it washes off) Staff did't even attempt to investigate the tint or if it would wash off. Breakfast is cold and bland. Laundry is closed from 9pm _9am. laundromat is open on 351 fir evening wash of team uniforms.
The hotel was very nice, clean, had lots of tv channels, good wireless internet and it had a very large selection of breakfast items. The USA Today was provided free each morning at the front desk. It does not have any items for sale other then some vending machines for snacks and drinks.
I was moving from Texas to Arizona and stayed the night here, $100 for a hotel room that was just there. The breakfast was not good at all and my mom's sheets had dried blood stains on them. What most people want in a hotel room is peace and quiet and sleep! Bed was not comfortable which made sleeping not a thing. Should have paid more for another hotel that would have been better.
If you want to be treated like a dog and spoken down too. This is your place. The staff on July 7th was the most rude individuals I have ever met. My stay in New York was better then this location and we're the friendly state.
I've been staying her for about 7 years, weekly. It's always very clean, and quite! Any problems I've had and they were very few and minor were quickly taken care of. That also have plenty of truck parking!
This was a well kept hotel in Abilene. The hotel was easy to fine in the Abilene. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. It had a refrigerator and microwave which is needed in every room. I really enjoy my stays at the Best Western.
We arrived late to this hotel and were given our room keys. We were lucky they had an accessible bathroom for my husband which made the stay much better. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. We had to leave early to get to our next stop and ate the breakfast they supplied. It was average and the staff was trying to man the desk and the breakfast bar until the normal person came so it was a bit confusing.
This is supposed to be a non-smoking motel. However, on the second floor it reeks of cigarette smoke! I am asthmatic and highly sensitive to cigarette smoke, so I went downstairs to complain to the front desk clerk. She said, "It's just the smoking room." A smoking room in a non-smoking motel???? They even make you sign a form stating that you will not smoke!! I would never recommend this motel to anyone.
We always stay in Best Western hotels when we travel. The room was nice and clean and very spacious. The receptionist at check in was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Abilene.
I reserved a room at this location for overnight stay after a family reunion in the area. It happened to be one of the hottest days of the year! The temperature when I checked in was 105 degrees. When I went to the room I switched on the air conditioner and it began cooling immediately. Other family members at other accommodations were not so lucky. I am grateful for great service and a great room every time I have stayed at Best Western!
Easy to get to and the room was clean. Staff was nice and helpful. I would stay again. The breakfast was good, even the coffee. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have free newspapers and big TV screens.
In Abilene on a business trip. Stayed one night in this motel. The room was clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Good night rest. Good rest, clean room friendly staff ready to help. Not much more to say. Only there one night. every thing in the room worked. Liked the shower head ... not tooooo strong to peel the skin off
The rooms were well painted and clean. We were somewhat shocked at the cameras placed in the hotel and the hoovering done by the manager during our breakfast. It felt a little like the manager didn't trust anyone and imbued that feeling on the employees. Strange.
very pleased with everything except location. We stayed last year in a different location but were informed that you sold that location to another firm. We really liked the other location best. We will try for a better location next trip.
Our. Beds had been slept in And was dirty. Office would not come down and look at them and bring clean ones so I could change them. Kids were gunning in and out slamming outside door. It was one of the worst stays we've ever had. Debbie T. Room 136 on 5/26/2017.
Cleaning staff was amazing, Rooms were clean, smelled wonderful. The office staff was friendly, kind and very helpful. The location was great and close to my business venue. I will continue to use Best Western for all my out of town Business stays. My new home away from home. :-)
We had a good stay at Best Western in Abilene. The breakfast was always good. The room was clean, polite and helpful staff. Internet (wifi) worked well. Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Hotel was quiet and we slept well.
I am a business traveler that spends a good 200 nights at hotels. This property really disappointed me. the whole building smells of cigarette smoke, The bed was old. It need a major upgrade. will not return to this one
the place was average but was close to ACU the hallway carpet smelled like cigarette smoke. That pretty much killed it for me. but I would stay here if I was in a bind. The cost was very reasonable, but as they say you get what you pay for.
Very comfortable and clean room, and friendly desk service. The breakfast was your typical hotel fare. I would stay here again without question. Nice strong shower, decent size towels and the bed slept very well!
You never know what you are going to get when you go to a BW. This is the same way as buying a box of chocolates because you never know what you are going to get. However, this was clean and nice, though a bit small. The breakfast needed some help though. The breakfast needed more choices for people to choose from, especially lactose intolerant people.
Eggs were barley warm, gravy was barley warm. Check in guy didnt acknowledge me as a member. No other issues. Nice room. Pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. Dirt at the bottom of the pool.
We visited this place in 2014 and I could say it has improved. Well situated just off Interstate 20. We choosed a suite with king bed which was very comfortable. We would recommend this place without hesitation. Breakfast was also very good.
Every staff member we encountered was extremely rude! The fitness center had a cool treadmill but the actual machine was so old you couldn't sit on it without it wobbling over! The room was a decent cheap room, but the rest of the hotel was a total disaster! The pool was black and covered in mold/moss! Gross!!
Worst BW I've ever stayed in! The smoke made me sick. I'll probably never stay around the area again. The breakfast was poor and coffee didn't taste right. We actually started calling around Abilene and found a nice hotel for the same price.
I was charged $5 because I had supposedly only reserved a room for 2 people, I thought it was a little odd, since I had been booking hotels all week with the same number of people but decided to let it go since we got there late and I was tired. In the morning I checked my receipt, sure enough I had booked for 2 adults and 1 child. When I went to the front desk I had to wait because the lady was on her phone and when I told her what had happen she QUESTIONED MY HONESTY about the people in my room and then said she would take care of it, which she did not. It's only $5 but customer service was horrible. I will never stay in a Best Western again.
I chose the Best Western in Abilene TX recently on a trip from Austin to MT. Price on line was fine, and looked like a nice place, location for our needs. I have stayed at several Best Western's in the past, and quality typically is good for the price. This hotel is well located, but I would not recommend staying there. The loggy area was not very clean and receptionist we had was kind of "lounging" at the desk when we checked in; she looked sloppy and seemed irritated we booked on Expedia to get a better rate. The room was ok, but I woke in middle of night with something crawling on my neck. I swatted it off, and later felt something crawling on my arm also. I woke with 3 big welts on my neck, arm, and thigh. My wife also had a bite on her thigh. I mentioned to the desk clerk when we left in the morning, and he said he would notify the manager when they arrived. We never did hear from anyone. it took 10 days before the swelling on my neck was gone and it stopped itching.
It's not a fun thing to have to do a prison visit, but it's become a way of life after 10 years, and I'm glad to have a quiet comfortable place to sleep at night and get a good breakfast before going out for the visit.
Made use of this hotel as the first leg of a weekend trip, and to link up with a friend. Room was clean, and everything worked well. Desk clerk was helpful with driving directions to other locations (dining, air port, etc). Breakfast was good. Checkout was easy. I'd stay here again if need be.
Comfortable, breakfasts was good , the elevator smelled like cigarette smoke, security cameras on the inside for some reason ,I looked to see if there was security cameras on the outside but there wasn't . I would rather my vehicle be watched instead of the hall since you had to have a key card to get through the outside door
The hotel was excellent. The young man at the desk in the morning, named Daniel, was so kind. He helped me find an address in Abilene and even went so far as to mark it on a map and bring it to me. Everything was neat and orderly.
positive was comp breakfast, sweet and cute check in girl, complimentary fitness area. Shower was nice. price with AAA was good neg was manager on duty at check out. unstable fridge in room. so how do i know when review has 200 characterd
Located on the north side of Abilene right along the interstate highway. There's a Denny's restaurant and gas station close by but not much else. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast was also good with lots of items to choose from. Wish they had a hot tub to soak in after a days travel.
Hotel was the first in months to honor a first floor request. Room was comfortable and the staff accepted the rewards card without any question. Clean room food was good and plenty of it for breakfast. Will stay again.
The hotel has a feeling of being almost new, although the desk clerk said it's not. Even so, our room was very nice, bordering on luxurious. My only issue was with the placement of the smoking rooms. We took the back stairs to get to our second floor non-smoking room, and upon exiting the staircase it smelled like we had stepped into the middle of a chain smokers' convention. Our room itself didn't smell like smoke but it was wafting under the door from the smoking rooms across the hall. Turns out that, inexplicably, the smoking rooms are located in the middle of the hallway, with non-smoking rooms on both sides of them. I guess this way we all get to share in the joy. What this hotel should really do is to become a completely non-smoking property. But since they probably won't do that, they should at least put the smoking rooms at the very end of the hall. Because of this issue, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.
Hotel is perfectly located off of I20 with easy access to downtown Abilene, I was shocked at how quiet the rooms are especially being right next to I20, Highly recommend this Hotel with confidence, staff was friendly, amazing breakfast, easy on/off I20 exit, very comfortable beds and a super quiet hotel!
We purchased a room for the evening thinking it would be a nice and cool room to stay in. We entered the room and it was hot. We notified the front desk and they told us it was blowing cold. We gave them the benefit of the doubt went out for a little while to see if the room would cool, we came back and it was still hot. They would not move us to another room and then refused to give us a refund. Needless to say we had to call the police for assistance.
This not my first time at this BW in Abilene Texas. We stay here because of it location to Interstate 20 and 277. The beds are very comfortable, its quiet, clean and the staff are personable and friendly. The king bed rooms are large and spacious and pricing is very reasonable. They seem to be able to meet my request upon arrival and check in and out very fast. I am a Platinum member and always stay at a BW when I can. This is a great place and if you pass this one up you will miss a great opportunity for a good nights rest.
Very comfortable room, the comfiest beds of our entire 2600 mile road trip! Convenient location just off I-20 and next to a gas station and Denny's. It was a bit loud with kids running up and down the halls since the pool was on the same floor and there was traffic noise from the highway. The check-in person told me breakfast was 7-10 (it was a Sun) so we missed it when we came out at 9:30 :(. So we lost money at Denny's. If it wasn't for that I would have given 4 stars.
We arrived very late but I was still able to have a long, pain-relieving soak in a comfortable bathtub before falling into bed. Much appreciated and enjoyed. Buffet breakfast was tasty, attractive and served hot; juices were chilled just right.
Spent the day gong to several places in the area, looking for places where family had lived and were buried. It was getting late and since we hadn't finished we need a place to stay to get a fresh start for the next day. The young man at front desk was very cheerful and helpful and we got our room quickly. The bed was comfortable and we woke rested and ready for breakfast - which was good (as most hotels in the BW chain).
In the mist of traveling had traveled over 400 miles, needed a place to stay. This was located next to the interstate and was a quick check in, room was really comfortable. Check out was quick and simple, the staff was very polite and helpful. Great place to stop.
Room reservation for the wrong night. Rates higher than quoted. Strong odor of cigarettes in halls. Beds not queen-sized as advertised, rather a small full-size or double. Staff not friendly. We will not stay here again.
The hotel was what I expected but the staff was so helpful when I arrived and there was no power to the hotel or the area. The staff helped me with every issue I had. I was escorted to the room to make sure the door would unlock, used a flashlight to be guided around the room. In the morning the breakfast was excellent, food was hot and prepared to my taste.
Very good quality hotel at reasonable price for business travel. Main desk staff are very friendly and helpful; recommend for business or leisure travel in the Abilene area. Just a short drive to downtown and just off I-83, very convenient.
As we checked in the girl at the reception was watching a movie on her i-pad and was not too friendly...than we found in our bathroom the used soap and the shampoon form the guest before in out shower. I called the reception and the girl apologize and that's it. But it was a good stay in good Best Western Standard Room...everything including the breakfast was okay.
The room was large and roomy, clean and could not hear any noise. My room faced west and after a long day was great to close the black out curtains and get some rest. Staff was very nice and eager to please. Great breakfast and bacon on the menu!!
met all our needs. breakfast was just so so. we were put on the first floor which was good. I really don t know what else to say about this. the one thing that was not good was that I kept having to ask for a confirmation.
I stayed here for 3 nights in April. The property was very clean and quiet even being located next to the interstate. The decor was a little dated but everything was in good repair and clean. Breakfast was your standard hotel offering. I would recommend this hotel, it has easy access to I-20 and is very reasonable.
Stayed here for a karate tournament, booked two rooms. Hotel is very outdated, the gentlemen at the front desk were very nice and checking in was very fast. When I fist walked in our room it was very musky and dirty. Shower curtain was black, toilet had pee stains on it. Luckily the beds had no bugs and were fairly comfortable. This hotel is one of the worst beat westerns I have ever stayed in.
After driving many miles we stopped at this Best Western in Abilene, It conveniently located just off interstate 20 and a restaurant was located within easy walking distance - ideal when one is tired of driving. the room was clean, but typical of many motel rooms. For an overnight stay, it was ideal; the bed was very comfortable. I would certainly recommend it for weary travelers.
Only stayed one night but it was convenient to the freeway and to the family I was visiting. Clean hotel with easy parking. Friendly staff and we had no issues or problems with anything in the room. Seems to be well insulated too, we were there in March and the temperature dropped to the 30's with a strong wind chill - we never even had to turn on the heater in the room
I came to Abilene for a quiet stay while I commuted to the Rattlesnake Round-up in Sweetwater. This Best Western was a great choice. It was only 35 miles from the show, with restaurants and stores nearby at 1/3 the price of hotels in Sweetwater without the crowds. If I need to stay in the area again, I will certainly put this hotel high on my list of places to stay.
I stopped here for the night on my way to West Texas. Decent price compared to the other hotels, especially since it's a pretty nice hotel. Nicer than the one I stayed at last time in Abilene for almost the same price. Staff was super nice, hotel is clean, room was clean, bed was comfortable. The breakfast could have been better as there really wasn't much to choose from, but other than that not a bad stay.
First, I paid more than my business partners did for a hotel closer to the Expo Center because I like and trust the Best Western brand and have stayed at this particular BW before. The hotel was easy to find and the room clean and comfortable. However...while breakfast on Saturday morning was good enough for an "excellent" rating, at 0815 on Sunday I found that the breakfast area floor was covered in dry cereal, all of the tables were dirty, the trash can was overflowing, there were ZERO hot items on the warming trays, no milk, most of the dry cereal dispensers were empty, and the waffle maker had no batter. The only observable person on duty was a young man at the front desk who...when I approached..turned out to be reading a novel (held carefully at below desk level). I told him that the breakfast area needed to be completely restocked, especially the hot items...and he looked surprised. I pointed out the trash and the empty containers over the counter to the breakfast area in his line of sight (if he hadn't been reading a book) and he hemmed, hawed, and finally said that "she" (not further identified) was making more. I asked when she would be done and he looked confused...looked at his book...looked at me...looked at the clock...and told me that it would be "...about five minutes." I asked for clarification...did he really mean five minutes, or was this one of the classic anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes sorts of five minutes and he looked confused and could not answer. So I checked out at went down the road to a restaurant and paid out-of-pocket for the breakfast that I expected to have at BW. It appears that there is no adult supervision of employees on Sundays, and I will remember that the next time I am in Abilene so that I can make other hotel choices.
Someone else made this reservation for me when I was traveling to Abilene for business. As a general rule, I don't choose Best Western based on some negative experiences years and years ago. The room was clean and large. The front desk staff were reasonably attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very average. Overall, the experience was better than I expected, but not as good as I would like it to be. I wouldn't stay here again given the choice.
Arrived at 2, checked in with the most disinterested person ever, went to non-smoking room choking on all the smoke in the hall, AND NO WATER!! Called the front desk "Yes the water is off they have been working on it (you couldn't tell us this at check in?!?) but it will be on in an hour." 4 hours later, "It should be back on in an hour (didn't I hear this 4 hours ago)" Checked out with another unapologetic, unconcerned person, and was told we wouldn't be charged but it will take approx. 4 days to be returned to your card. I contacted Best Western and was told they would forward it to the location but of course we never heard from anyone.
We chose Best Western because they are pet friendly. Abilene has clean, big and comfortable rooms. They filled our request by putting our rooms next to each other. They also gave us a room near the exit. It was helpful walking our dog.
Some places have all the bells and whistles. Some places have the basics. On this recent trip I stated at both. Quite by chance I had to stop at this hotel because of travel conditions late at night. This hotel was by far the best experience of the trip. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The breakfast was great. It featured sausage, hash browns, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, bagels, raisin bread, cereal, juice, and coffee. I stayed at two other similarly classes hotels earlier in the trip and they had only a fraction of these offerings. The rooms were clean and spacious. Bathrooms were large. The rooms have a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Oh and there were power outlets everywhere. No other hotel I stayed at including a five star could say that. I usually have to carry a couple of power bars to cover all the devices in my parties possession. I didn't even bring them in from the car. Awesome. Oh and you can't beat the Best Western Rewards discount. I hadn't stayed at one in a while and almost forgot I had it. It's defiantly worth it. This location features a laundry room. The next time I stop in Abliene, I'm staying here.
I had to use a slow WiFi connection in the lobby to book on line, as the clerk would not honor internet price at Best Western. com, otherwise. Breakfast was fair, but very limited selection. this trip advisor review requires too many words. I am not impressed with Trip Advisor.
In looking for a comfortable, affordable, overnight stay. I was very surprised at the quality of this establishment. considering the reviews I read. We always check out previous guests to help us decide where to stay. This play was much better and affordable than expected. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
We needed an overnight stay on a long road trip and this property was OK for a bed and a shower. Easy off, easy on Interstate access; people were friendly; breakfast was very minimal; bed & pillows were comfy; room was clean; water wasn't very hot.
The rooms are nice and spacious. There is a weird smell at the entrance but I honestly think it's just a commercial air freshener that just isn't the best smell. Everything is very clean. Only complaint is that they desperately need fabric softener for the towels. I would definitely stay here again.
clean, caring, We have stayed all over the world, being military and I would rate Best Western among some of top. This Best Western in Abilene is always clean and the staff is top-notch, Will stay there again.
We like Best Western and this stay didn't change our mind. This is a comfortable hotel that is quiet and clean. It has easy access off of the freeway and the breakfast was nice too. We didn't stay long, but we were able to sleep comfortably and rest before we continued our journey.
We stayed at this hotel the night we flew out from to New York. What a delight it was to arrive here as the previous 3 nights on the road were budget hotels. This hotel was clean, spacious, had a guest laundry and free wifi. The staff were friendly and helpful. The suite had plenty of room to repack and reorganise ourselves before the next stage in our journey. They had access to the dining room for early morning travellers. Not a full breakfast but enough to fuel you for the day ahead. The only negative was when we went to pay the account. I'd booked over the phone, from Australia, thru Best Western Rewards and the quote I was given on the room did not include taxes. The hotel is about 17 miles to the airport. There is a closer Best Western but that was fully booked at time of our inquiry.
I would give this place zero stars if possible. I ended up waking up with bed bugs biting me in the morning and they refused to give me a refund. I had to throw away my backpack and clean all of my clothes to make sure I didn't bring them back home. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. Oh and Best Western, I will leave these truthful comments everywhere I can until my $196.64 is returned to me debit card. I also took pictures of the bed bugs if anyone is interested.
Me and my family stayed here while visiting family in town. Really comfortable beds and just an overall clean hotel! Respectful and friendly front desk clerk. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit.
The hotel is pretty outdated but clean and well kept. The breakfast area is also in need of an update but the food was good with nice coffee. Our room was quite large but the bed was really uncomfortable. A quiet room and comfortable bed are our main requirements so we wouldn't stay here again.
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last 5 years with the same opinion. Three strikes and you are out. Each time I have gotten the feeling they are doing me a favor by providing an overpriced room. Room appeared to be clean. Lighting extremely dim. Breakfast area was clean, food items ok but food not replenished until people were standing waiting. I will not stay at this hotel again.
This hotel was located just off the freeway with easy access. The staff were courteous and professional. I liked the breakfast room - The room was a good size and the breakfast was more than adequate. I used the fitness room each day of my stay and it had everything I needed. If I'm back in this area, I know where I will stay..
A standard best Western Hotel. Clean rooms soft beds and great water pressure for showers. It is close to the airport and easy access to the highway. It's a place for truckers to stay. There is plenty of room around the hotel for 18 wheelers to park. Restaurants near by. Andrea at the front desk was polite professional and accommodating. The price was right too. Breakfast was hot and had choices of turkey sausage or pork, omelet with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. I will return and stay.
